- 0:00Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 0:03Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 0:07Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 0:23Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 0:28Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 0:31Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 0:35Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 0:39Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 0:43Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 0:46Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 0:55Speaker 1: border and families will be protected.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 1:00Speaker 3: We got to introduce Kezia just a Domino.
- 1:03Speaker 4: It's crazy because since the last time that we we spoke,
- 1:07Speaker 4: Since the last time that we spoke, you had so
- 1:10Speaker 4: much stuff going on. You had you had the campaign
- 1:14Speaker 4: where it was my black was my black receipt, my
- 1:19Speaker 4: black receipt, and and that was all over.
- 1:20Speaker 3: That was on CNBC, that was on We Saw You CNN.
- 1:24Speaker 3: That was everything.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Yeah, so let's talk about that. I want that's the
- 1:29Speaker 4: first thing. I want to talk about that, because that
- 1:31Speaker 4: really took off. And I'm not sure how much money.
- 1:34Speaker 4: I'm sure you can. I got some SATs, I got
- 1:36Speaker 4: some SATs. Yeah, you did five hundred k in three days.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Let's not let's in three days.
- 1:40Speaker 5: We did five million in three weeks and three weeks.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Here go to economics.
- 1:50Speaker 3: So what what was that? What exactly was that?
- 1:54Speaker 6: Yeah, it was such an amazing experience.
- 1:56Speaker 7: I think, like a lot of people out there, especially
- 2:00Speaker 7: black people, we were watching the civil unrest unfold for
- 2:05Speaker 7: yet another time across America, and during that time, people
- 2:09Speaker 7: were really asking the question what can we do, like,
- 2:12Speaker 7: how can we affect change so that George Floyd can
- 2:16Speaker 7: be the last name that we ever have to say
- 2:18Speaker 7: in relation to justice. And so I remember people saying
- 2:22Speaker 7: that maybe it looks like buying black. And though I
- 2:25Speaker 7: think that buying black is important, I think that there
- 2:28Speaker 7: are a lot of people on social media that will
- 2:30Speaker 7: promulgate the narrative of buying black, but we don't actually
- 2:33Speaker 7: know if they're putting their dollars in black businesses.
- 2:36Speaker 6: So I thought about it.
- 2:38Speaker 7: I said, what if we were to actually quantify the
- 2:41Speaker 7: by black movement?
- 2:42Speaker 6: And I called up.
- 2:43Speaker 7: One of my friends who is a tech person, and
- 2:45Speaker 7: I said, do you think that you could build something
- 2:47Speaker 7: kind of like Color of Change where people would buy black,
- 2:50Speaker 7: save their receipts, and upload it into a tech platform
- 2:53Speaker 7: and we could count the impact collectively. And so he
- 2:57Speaker 7: was like, yeah, I can totally build it. What's the
- 2:59Speaker 7: timeline like years, six months? And I was like no,
- 3:01Speaker 7: we got like four or five days, child, And I
- 3:05Speaker 7: was like, but it's okay, we can do and remember
- 3:07Speaker 7: faith this and sustance of things pro for and the
- 3:10Speaker 7: evidence of things not yet seen.
- 3:12Speaker 6: We can do it.
- 3:13Speaker 7: So he started building a tech platform and I recruited
- 3:16Speaker 7: a couple of other people to join us, Talent.
- 3:18Speaker 6: Graves, Men's Daryl Perkins, nineteen kids, who's also been on
- 3:22Speaker 6: your show.
- 3:25Speaker 7: Yeah, we decided to just launch it on June teenth
- 3:27Speaker 7: to see if people would put their receipt where their
- 3:30Speaker 7: protest was. I mean, we were tired of black people,
- 3:33Speaker 7: black men going into coffee shops and being treated like criminals,
- 3:37Speaker 7: black boys being wearing Monkey in the Jungle t shirts,
- 3:40Speaker 7: and people just protesting for fifteen or sixteen days. The
- 3:43Speaker 7: Montgomery bus boycott was for three hundred and eighty plus
- 3:46Speaker 7: consecutive days until we were able to exact the type
- 3:49Speaker 7: of change that we could feel generations later.
- 3:52Speaker 6: And so my black receipt was just really a reflection back.
- 3:56Speaker 2: So where are we at now with the.
- 4:00Speaker 6: We're in faith two?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Okay, there we go.
- 4:04Speaker 6: Yeah, what happened.
- 4:06Speaker 7: People were saying, okay, but I'm black for one day
- 4:09Speaker 7: is just not enough, and we have to remind people
- 4:11Speaker 7: that we did this for seventeen consecutive days. But what
- 4:14Speaker 7: we realized to the technology is after the seventeenth day happened,
- 4:17Speaker 7: people were still uploading the receipt, and so we decided
- 4:21Speaker 7: to strengthen the technology so that now when you upload
- 4:24Speaker 7: your receipt, you can see all of the other transactions
- 4:27Speaker 7: that you've made over time since June nineteenth. And then
- 4:30Speaker 7: also we've partnered in the corporate space, so Kroger reached out.
- 4:34Speaker 7: Kroger is super excited to work with us to increase
- 4:38Speaker 7: their minority supplier pipeline, so there could be more black
- 4:41Speaker 7: skws on shelves. We've had conversations with other corporations like
- 4:45Speaker 7: YOP so that we can help strengthen their algorithm around
- 4:48Speaker 7: finding black owned businesses. And there are a lot of
- 4:50Speaker 7: other tech companies that are just like, hey, we're not
- 4:52Speaker 7: doing this hard black thing right, so like how can
- 4:55Speaker 7: we do that with my black receipt?
- 4:57Speaker 6: And we're like, cut a check in.
- 4:58Speaker 3: We're there, cut a check that simple check.
- 5:06Speaker 4: It's that simple. It's that simple. Now you know your
- 5:09Speaker 4: your inspiration for for many, for many, many people. And
- 5:15Speaker 4: it's just like anytime we speak to how the energy just.
- 5:17Speaker 2: It's never to say I was just gonna say that. Man.
- 5:19Speaker 5: The reason I love speaking and watching you is because
- 5:21Speaker 5: the energy is always consistent. It's always consistent. From the
- 5:25Speaker 5: second we met you. It was just like I sat
- 5:28Speaker 5: there and all I'm like, yo, I just learned a lot.
- 5:31Speaker 5: I was my brain was hurting. I was like, yo,
- 5:33Speaker 5: that was a lot. And so we were just so
- 5:35Speaker 5: happy to have you and your episode episode fifty fifty eight.
- 5:38Speaker 5: If you haven't checked that episode fifty eight, shoty what they.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Do doing themselves a tremendous the service, But I wanted
- 5:43Speaker 4: to ask you a question before we before we let
- 5:44Speaker 4: the public.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Act you questions.
- 5:46Speaker 4: It's like we're in the age, like you said, as
- 5:48Speaker 4: far as you know, put your money where your mouth is,
- 5:50Speaker 4: put your push, your money where your protest is. I
- 5:52Speaker 4: like that, But how do we sustain that? Like, how
- 5:55Speaker 4: do we sustain everybody's talking about buying black right, buying
- 5:58Speaker 4: black right now, and economic empowerment and support black businesses.
- 6:03Speaker 4: But how is that something that we can sustain and
- 6:07Speaker 4: not just make it a fad, but make it ten years,
- 6:10Speaker 4: twenty years, one hundred year thing.
- 6:12Speaker 6: No, that's an.
- 6:13Speaker 7: Excellent question, because buying black shouldn't just be in a
- 6:17Speaker 7: response to a protest. So yeah, we can tell you
- 6:20Speaker 7: put your receipt where your protest is, but that should
- 6:22Speaker 7: be a continuation of what you were already doing. Buying
- 6:26Speaker 7: black should be habitual, And so let me just say
- 6:29Speaker 7: that one more time, Buying black should be habitual. At
- 6:32Speaker 7: the end of COVID nineteen, forty percent of black enterprises
- 6:36Speaker 7: are expected to close. But Black people spend one point
- 6:40Speaker 7: three trillion dollars annually. That is money that we're spending
- 6:43Speaker 7: on our clothes, on our shoes, those are that's money
- 6:46Speaker 7: that we're spending in our brokerage accounts. You know, I
- 6:48Speaker 7: watched market Mondays from time to time. That's money that
- 6:51Speaker 7: we're spending on our hair, on our lashes. So every
- 6:54Speaker 7: single time you think about making a purchase, the mentality
- 6:58Speaker 7: should always be how not buy it black owned? And
- 7:01Speaker 7: for those people who have had the excuse to say
- 7:04Speaker 7: I don't have a black owned business in my neighborhood,
- 7:06Speaker 7: at least for COVID if you needed a reason, A
- 7:09Speaker 7: lot of people are buying online. So when you have
- 7:12Speaker 7: websites like we by Black, when you have other enterprises
- 7:16Speaker 7: like those that have whole list of businesses all across
- 7:20Speaker 7: the country that do business and physical spaces will also
- 7:22Speaker 7: do business online, there is no excuse.
- 7:25Speaker 6: But also I think in order for.
- 7:27Speaker 7: Us to sustain the bi black movement, we have to
- 7:30Speaker 7: afford black entrepreneurs a measure of grace. So I know,
- 7:33Speaker 7: we're used to the whole Amazon you order at five
- 7:36Speaker 7: point thirty four and your package shows up at four
- 7:39Speaker 7: five thirty five PM just a minute later, because they got.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Logitus like that.
- 7:43Speaker 7: So for most entrepreneurs, they are working nine to five
- 7:46Speaker 7: and then they're coming home and they're building their businesses
- 7:49Speaker 7: six pm to midnight. These are entrepreneurs that are bootstrapping
- 7:52Speaker 7: their way to financial success. So when it comes down
- 7:55Speaker 7: to doing business with a black entrepreneur, we have to
- 7:58Speaker 7: make sure to level.
- 7:59Speaker 6: Sent our expit.
- 8:00Speaker 7: The other thing is Black entrepreneurs need to charge what
- 8:04Speaker 7: it's worth, and black customers need to pay exactly what
- 8:07Speaker 7: it costs. A lot of people are out here running
- 8:09Speaker 7: around here asking for friends and family discount.
- 8:11Speaker 6: Y'all ain't even related.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, talk to them, talk to them.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Like, breathe it on. People.
- 8:20Speaker 7: Give you the CODs, all of that money that you're saving,
- 8:23Speaker 7: take that and put it into a black enterprise right now.
- 8:26Speaker 7: Perhaps black entrepreneurs won't feel like they have to beg
- 8:29Speaker 7: barl and steal just for a dollar. If we say first,
- 8:33Speaker 7: every single time we make a purchase, how can we
- 8:35Speaker 7: recycle our dollar and be black with our dollar in common.
- 8:39Speaker 6: With our sins.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I mean this is this is a powerhouse. This is
- 8:42Speaker 2: a powerhouse.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Asking for friends and family discount, man, I said plate.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Cousin, Nah, I can't give it to you. I can't
- 8:52Speaker 5: give it to you up at the barbecue. If it's real,
- 8:57Speaker 5: we go into the book, my guy, my guy, this
- 9:00Speaker 5: is my boy right here, darreus.
- 9:02Speaker 2: What's going on? I'm to sell you been, I'm muted?
- 9:08Speaker 2: Have you there be right there?
- 9:10Speaker 3: What's up, bro?
- 9:11Speaker 8: What's really going down?
- 9:13Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 9:15Speaker 2: What's good?
- 9:17Speaker 6: Uh?
- 9:18Speaker 8: Queen my black receipt that's historical right there, that's historically.
- 9:26Speaker 2: That's his story.
- 9:27Speaker 8: She really, she really with with that, with that, with that,
- 9:29Speaker 8: that idea out there really showed, you know, not only
- 9:35Speaker 8: entrepreneurs but also consumers that, hey, spending money with my people.
- 9:39Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong with me spending money with my people.
- 9:41Speaker 6: M absolutely, yeah, that's right.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Real talk.
- 9:45Speaker 8: I don't have to be scared to spend money with
- 9:47Speaker 8: my people.
- 9:48Speaker 6: No, it should be a badge of honor.
- 9:50Speaker 8: Absolutely, it should be second nature.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Come on now, come on now, let me get off
- 9:57Speaker 6: in plate. It should be saying nature straight up.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I guess, I guess.
- 10:03Speaker 10: Uh.
- 10:03Speaker 8: I don't really have no question. I don't really had
- 10:04Speaker 8: no question. I actually had a question from from my
- 10:06Speaker 8: BC brother. But me and me and me and me
- 10:11Speaker 8: and kazill With we're friends on Facebook. So I see
- 10:13Speaker 8: all of her posts.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Listen, you've been following Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I see
- 10:20Speaker 2: I see all her posts. I don't don't.
- 10:22Speaker 8: I don't, I don't miss nothing.
- 10:23Speaker 2: She drops. Thank you so.
- 10:25Speaker 6: Much for the love. I really appreciate it.
- 10:28Speaker 8: Yeah, what so what what are the plans? So is
- 10:31Speaker 8: there is there an idea or concept, uh to take
- 10:35Speaker 8: my Black receipt to a to another level?
- 10:38Speaker 7: Yeah, And I want to reiterate that we're partnering with corporations,
- 10:42Speaker 7: that we're strengthening our technology. Our goal is not to
- 10:46Speaker 7: make it so difficult to hold on to a receipt,
- 10:48Speaker 7: take a picture and uploaded. But how can we build
- 10:51Speaker 7: the type of software where when you buy Black, we
- 10:53Speaker 7: can automatically record the purchase. So we want to make
- 10:56Speaker 7: sure that at the end of the year, at the
- 10:58Speaker 7: end of the month, really at the end of the week,
- 11:00Speaker 7: you want you erners.
- 11:02Speaker 2: What's up?
- 11:02Speaker 5: You ever walk into a small business and everything just
- 11:05Speaker 5: works like the checkout is fast, the receipts are digital,
- 11:09Speaker 5: tipping is a breeze, and you're out the door before
- 11:12Speaker 5: the line even builds. Odds are they're using Square. We

- 13:58Speaker 8: That makes sense. That well, that really shouldn't be too
- 14:01Speaker 8: easy because in my business I have I have an
- 14:03Speaker 8: app that I use to take pictures of my receipts

- 14:07Speaker 6: So you know, kind of like a quick book. Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 6: something something like that. So we're cooking up something, We're
- 14:13Speaker 6: not sitting on our hands.
- 14:15Speaker 2: The chef ag gonna give away the recipe.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Yeah around, yo, love bro, We're gonna see We're gonna

- 14:24Speaker 5: the book club. Obviously, always love bro, Appreciate you.
- 14:30Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah, I love it, love it. Let's let's go,
- 14:34Speaker 11: let's go to I'm gonna say this, Lenia. Hopefully I
- 14:38Speaker 11: got that right, Lenia, what's going on? They told me
- 14:40Speaker 11: to trust my instinct when I'm saying these names. That's it, right, Damn,
- 14:46Speaker 11: It's okay.
- 14:47Speaker 6: It's okay. I love you guys too.
- 14:50Speaker 12: So first I want to say, I'm so thankful that
- 14:53Speaker 12: I found you guys, because this COVID put me through
- 14:56Speaker 12: a real bad depression and it.
- 14:59Speaker 6: Just helped me. It made me take faith I brought up.
- 15:03Speaker 6: I'm so nervous. I can't believe that I'm talking to
- 15:05Speaker 6: you guys. Sorry, what you guys, what you guys doing
- 15:11Speaker 6: is so helpful for me.
- 15:13Speaker 12: I'm a black entrepreneur, I'm a procrastinator. So this COVID
- 15:19Speaker 12: had made me open my eyes and stopped procrastinating and
- 15:22Speaker 12: realizing that I could have done so much. But then
- 15:25Speaker 12: the times, you know, fear as you guys have stayed
- 15:27Speaker 12: in earlier, stopped me. So I first time purchasing stops
- 15:30Speaker 12: just listening to the podcast when I feel like I'm
- 15:34Speaker 12: wasting time, when I'm on the bus or the train,
- 15:37Speaker 12: I'm on the podcast, listening to the podcast, taking down notes.
- 15:42Speaker 12: I just know the end of this year is something
- 15:44Speaker 12: great is going to happen because I have so much
- 15:45Speaker 12: information and knowledge due to you brothers and everybody else
- 15:49Speaker 12: that's on the podcast. So may God continue to protect
- 15:52Speaker 12: you and bless you and thank you. Uh you know,
- 15:57Speaker 12: I'm just having issues logging in, but I know that's
- 15:59Speaker 12: going to be fixed, and I'm just so excited to learn,
- 16:02Speaker 12: just to learn. I purchased so much information doing this COVID,
- 16:06Speaker 12: and thank God for the codes that you guys have
- 16:08Speaker 12: been giving out, like the BUDGETNISA. You guys so I
- 16:12Speaker 12: know I'm in great hands. So I just wanted to
- 16:14Speaker 12: say thank you.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Oh, thank you, thank you man.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Ye shout the Tiffany man. She's amazing too.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Appreciate it, appreciate it. Thank you for your support. And
- 16:21Speaker 4: we have to talk about that too. Mental health is
- 16:23Speaker 4: a real situation in our community right now, so make
- 16:25Speaker 4: sure you check on your neighbors, check on your friends,
- 16:27Speaker 4: check with your family members, show some compassion because you
- 16:30Speaker 4: never know what somebody's going through. It's difficult times right now,
- 16:33Speaker 4: being isolated, especially for children not going to school with
- 16:36Speaker 4: their counterparts, not being able to play sports a lot
- 16:39Speaker 4: of times, so you know that that that toll is
- 16:42Speaker 4: is draining and you know, to be by yourself all day.
- 16:45Speaker 4: So in the midst of you know, this is an
- 16:47Speaker 4: entrepreneur show, but all of that goes in the part
- 16:50Speaker 4: as far as you can't be you can't you can't
- 16:52Speaker 4: be successful in business if you're not mentally sharp, if
- 16:55Speaker 4: you're not physically sharp. So we need to we need
- 16:57Speaker 4: to eat good, we need to you know, we need
- 17:00Speaker 4: to work out, and we need to socialize, and we
- 17:03Speaker 4: need to make sure that you know, these these are
- 17:05Speaker 4: trying times that we're in not just financially, but mentally,
- 17:08Speaker 4: and we have to, like I said, we have to
- 17:10Speaker 4: be compassionate with each other and we have to really
- 17:12Speaker 4: take that into consideration before you, before you snap on somebody,
- 17:15Speaker 4: or before you go off on somebody, just consider what
- 17:18Speaker 4: they might have went through.
- 17:19Speaker 13: You never know what's what somebody's going through. And no
- 17:21Speaker 13: one is exempt, and I want to make that very clear.
- 17:24Speaker 13: No one's exempt from going through these type of situations.
- 17:27Speaker 13: No one's exempt from depression, no one's exempt from anxiety.
- 17:30Speaker 13: That's what comes with being in the state that we're
- 17:33Speaker 13: in right now, especially as a country. So we always
- 17:35Speaker 13: employ you to reach out, text someone, call someone, go
- 17:39Speaker 13: through your contact list.
- 17:40Speaker 5: You never know what one conversation you can do. Man,
- 17:43Speaker 5: I've seen it happen so many times. With just one
- 17:45Speaker 5: conversation letting somebody know that you're thinking about them, it
- 17:48Speaker 5: could change everything, could change their life.
- 17:50Speaker 2: So we employ you to do that for sure.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Sure, So let's let's get let's get a few more questions.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Johnathan, were coming to you?
- 17:57Speaker 2: What's going on? Johnathan? Im mute yourself, you've been unmuted.
- 18:01Speaker 8: What's going on?
- 18:02Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 18:06Speaker 8: You guys can hear me here.
- 18:07Speaker 3: You guys can hear me.
- 18:08Speaker 9: Yeah, you clear, perfect, perfect, No, man, appreciate you guys
- 18:15Speaker 9: taking my questions today are but before I is a question,
- 18:19Speaker 9: I just want to say, you know, I appreciate you guys.
- 18:21Speaker 9: You know you guys have I got my r A
- 18:24Speaker 9: A count, I got my independent of Broodge account. I'm
- 18:27Speaker 9: investing into options. I'm also investing into stocks long term. Also,
- 18:33Speaker 9: I'm a license in the show contract. I invested into
- 18:36Speaker 9: real estate.
- 18:37Speaker 4: So qu Queens of Brooklyn, Queens of Brooklyn, Huh you're
- 18:43Speaker 4: from Queens?
- 18:43Speaker 3: Are you from Brooklyn? Hollo o?
- 18:53Speaker 12: No.
- 18:54Speaker 9: So I really appreciate you guys. And it's crazy because
- 18:56Speaker 9: I was procrastinated to get to join me. Why you
- 19:01Speaker 9: know that episode that you guys drive with D Dash.
- 19:04Speaker 9: Once you guys hit that fifty, I'm like, oh, man,
- 19:07Speaker 9: I gotta get Now is the time for me to
- 19:09Speaker 9: get it?
- 19:10Speaker 6: Like I've been procrastive.
- 19:11Speaker 9: I was procrassat it you guys one time back down
- 19:13Speaker 9: to thirty percent, I'm like, oh, once you got to
- 19:16Speaker 9: the back drop with D Dash, I was like, man, man,
- 19:20Speaker 9: And That's.
- 19:20Speaker 8: How I'm feeling right now, you know, Like I'm.
- 19:22Speaker 9: Coming from Jersey. I just made over three thousand dollars
- 19:25Speaker 9: on a small job for somebody contracting.
- 19:27Speaker 4: So I'm doing the.
- 19:28Speaker 9: Backdrop while driving back to Harllan right now.
- 19:31Speaker 3: So call them get the money. What's your question, bro, Well,
- 19:34Speaker 3: the question for the queen is you know how?
- 19:37Speaker 9: You know how when you find yourself coming up with
- 19:41Speaker 9: this idea?
- 19:42Speaker 3: Right?
- 19:44Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 19:45Speaker 9: And what precision were you at that moment when you
- 19:47Speaker 9: came up with this idea?
- 19:49Speaker 12: And uh and.
- 19:52Speaker 9: What versity were you facing at the time before you
- 19:55Speaker 9: came up with this great idea?
- 19:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I appreciate that. I just want to also send
- 20:02Speaker 7: my flowers to Leney. I think what she just did,
- 20:05Speaker 7: what she just admitted, was so brave, right, And I
- 20:09Speaker 7: think as as a Phillips said that we are going
- 20:12Speaker 7: through a lot during this time, especially extroverts like like
- 20:16Speaker 7: me who were at hohone by themselves just trying to
- 20:19Speaker 7: figure out not how to talk to the walls. But
- 20:21Speaker 7: one of the things that I did pick out from
- 20:22Speaker 7: what Renee said is that she was scared. And what
- 20:25Speaker 7: I like to tell entrepreneurs innovators alike is that if
- 20:27Speaker 7: you're scared to do it, do it scared. And that's
- 20:30Speaker 7: exactly what you did when you joined eyl University, when
- 20:33Speaker 7: you took a chance on Rashad and Troy, you invested
- 20:36Speaker 7: in yourself and they maximize your return. So I definitely
- 20:39Speaker 7: want to give you your flowers.
- 20:40Speaker 6: There.
- 20:41Speaker 7: You asked what adversity was I going through during the time.
- 20:45Speaker 7: I had this long story, But guys, I promised, I'm
- 20:47Speaker 7: gonna I'm gonna compartmentalize it, know, like.
- 20:50Speaker 6: What drove me to black upstart.
- 20:53Speaker 7: But I was taught that the definition of success is
- 20:56Speaker 7: you go to high school, you get a diploma, you
- 20:58Speaker 7: go to college, you get a degree, and then you
- 20:59Speaker 7: get a good government job with benefits. And I did
- 21:03Speaker 7: exactly that. I followed the blueprint to a tee. But
- 21:06Speaker 7: then I realized in the workplace that even though I
- 21:09Speaker 7: was working twice as hard, even though I felt like
- 21:12Speaker 7: I was twice as smart, I was still being paid
- 21:14Speaker 7: in separate but unequal paycheck. I was demoted three consecutive
- 21:19Speaker 7: times by a white woman who could not believe that
- 21:21Speaker 7: a woman without an advanced degree could get promoted five
- 21:25Speaker 7: times over six years. And so after the third demotion,
- 21:29Speaker 7: I just made up my mind to say that I
- 21:33Speaker 7: wanted to create my own economic opportunity in life, and
- 21:37Speaker 7: so I quit without having another job lined up, and
- 21:41Speaker 7: I promised myself that I would never let another hand
- 21:45Speaker 7: feed me, that my nine to five would always be
- 21:48Speaker 7: one of several streams of income. It was during that
- 21:51Speaker 7: time that I read the troubling statistic that black women
- 21:54Speaker 7: would lose eight hundred and forty thousand dollars over their career,
- 21:58Speaker 7: not because they're not working twice as hard, not because
- 22:00Speaker 7: they're not twice as smart, not because they're not twice
- 22:02Speaker 7: as good, but simply because they're black and because they're women.
- 22:05Speaker 7: And so black women like me who are out here
- 22:07Speaker 7: creating enterprises aren't trying to be the next Black Bill Gates,
- 22:11Speaker 7: are not trying to be the next black Mark Zuckerberg.
- 22:13Speaker 7: We're just trying to make sure that we pay ourselves
- 22:16Speaker 7: exactly what we're worth. And so for black ups start,
- 22:20Speaker 7: I started to train black entrepreneurs like me not just
- 22:23Speaker 7: to start enterprises, but just start the type of enterprises
- 22:26Speaker 7: that create jobs, so we wouldn't have to go begging
- 22:29Speaker 7: other people for promotions, begging other people for opportunities, begging
- 22:32Speaker 7: other people for paychecks that we could create and sign ourselves,
- 22:36Speaker 7: so we were could be just like Troy and somebody
- 22:38Speaker 7: tells us that we have to pull up on a Tuesday, and.
- 22:40Speaker 6: We could be like, Nah, bro bros are set up.
- 22:46Speaker 5: I want I want to I want to correct one
- 22:48Speaker 5: thing you said that you quit in the words of
- 22:50Speaker 5: nineteen Keys, you fired your job.
- 22:52Speaker 2: They can fire your job. They could, they could no
- 22:56Speaker 2: longer afford you.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Speak heavy speak heavy. Now. It's been a pleasure. It's
- 22:59Speaker 3: been a pleasure.
- 23:01Speaker 4: What what Episode fifty eight, fifty eight, Episode fifty eight.
- 23:07Speaker 4: We're gonna be doing a bunch of more stuff in
- 23:09Speaker 4: the future, So thank you for joining us. Thank you
- 23:12Speaker 4: for being a part of our journey. Nah, we we
- 23:15Speaker 4: greatly appreciate it. We look we look forward to doing
- 23:17Speaker 4: a bunch of more stuff together in the future.
- 23:23Speaker 2: That's right, That's right, all right, Guy Williams. Always love,
- 23:29Speaker 2: Thank you, peace.
- 23:32Speaker 8: My graduates from my school being force back and drop bags,
- 23:37Speaker 8: drop Mike, drop.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Back, drop b drop.
- 23:51Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 23:54Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 23:59Speaker 1: accused of murder ring a Texas man of Venezuelan charged
- 24:03Speaker 1: with filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are
- 24:07Speaker 1: just some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of
- 24:10Speaker 1: President Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United
- 24:14Speaker 1: States Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal
- 24:19Speaker 1: border crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and
- 24:22Speaker 1: over one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If
- 24:26Speaker 1: you are here illegally, your next you will be fined
- 24:29Speaker 1: nearly one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You
- 24:34Speaker 1: will never return. But if you register using our CBP
- 24:37Speaker 1: home app and leave now, you could be allowed to
- 24:40Speaker 1: return legally. Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump,
- 24:45Speaker 1: America's laws, border and families will be protected.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
