- 0:11Speaker 1: It's the Good Report tonight breaking news a man charged
- 0:17Speaker 1: over a death threat to a guest they had on
- 0:19Speaker 1: My show the other night. Plus, Joe Barden says a
- 0:24Speaker 1: bizarre goodbye to America as he steps down as president.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Plenty more coming up, including Barnaby Joyce, Patrick Christie's and
- 0:31Speaker 1: a warning if you're driving a car made in China.
- 0:34Speaker 1: But let's go to the big news today. This sees
- 0:37Speaker 1: Far ideal between Israel and Amas. Fifteen months after Hamasteris
- 0:42Speaker 1: slaughtered twelve hundred Israelis and took more than two hundred
- 0:45Speaker 1: and fifty hostages and started a war that's devastated Gaza.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Now the real winner is not Israel. That's why young
- 0:54Speaker 1: Palestinians and Gaza been celebrating, chanting that they are men
- 0:57Speaker 1: of Muhammad d'If the military chief of from US who
- 1:01Speaker 1: is raw killed last year. What a deaficult that is.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Now the real winner of this cees Far ideal is
- 1:12Speaker 1: not Israel. It is Donald Trump, and the world has
- 1:16Speaker 1: just got a warning that the rules have changed now,
- 1:19Speaker 1: even before Trump is officially sworn in as US president
- 1:22Speaker 1: again on Monday. The change is this, under Trump, the
- 1:26Speaker 1: US president will again be the world's most powerful man.
- 1:29Speaker 1: And what Trump wants is what most helps Trump. Now,
- 1:35Speaker 1: let's it. It's one thing straight right from the start.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It is Donald Trump. It's not President Joe Biden who
- 1:41Speaker 1: got this deal done. Even if Barden today claimed that
- 1:44Speaker 1: even to suggest the opposite was a joke, that's.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Credit for that, mister President You or Trump?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Is that a joke? Oh? Now, it is true that
- 1:58Speaker 1: Barden did push something like this deal seven months ago,
- 2:02Speaker 1: this deal that's going to come into effect on Sunday
- 2:04Speaker 1: with the release of the first three of the ninety
- 2:06Speaker 1: eight Jewish hostages still held by Hamas. But Buden never
- 2:11Speaker 1: got over the line. So last week Trump issued this morning,
- 2:15Speaker 1: release the hostages by next Monday, when Trump is sworn
- 2:19Speaker 1: in or else.
- 2:23Speaker 3: If those hostages aren't back, I don't want to hurt
- 2:26Speaker 3: your negotiation. If they're not back by the time I
- 2:29Speaker 3: get into office, all hell will break out in the
- 2:33Speaker 3: Middle East and it will not be good for Hamas,
- 2:36Speaker 3: and it will not be good, frankly for anyone.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Now, that man standing next to Trump was his envoy
- 2:44Speaker 1: in these talks, Steve Whitkoff, and on Saturday that man
- 2:48Speaker 1: was in Israel. Whitkoff demanded to see President Benjamin that
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know, but it's the Sabbath. He was told, doesn't matter.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I don't care, he said. Now now we don't actually
- 2:59Speaker 1: know what was then said in they are meeting, in
- 3:02Speaker 1: that meeting with Netnie, what was promised? Maybe maybe Trump's
- 3:05Speaker 1: message to Netio was give me this deal in time
- 3:10Speaker 1: for my inauguration. Great present. I'll send Israel weapons. I'll
- 3:14Speaker 1: let it bomb Iran's nuclear weapons. Sit who knows. Maybe
- 3:17Speaker 1: he didn't do any of that whatever, Netnia who caved.
- 3:23Speaker 1: He made this deal that had walked away from back
- 3:25Speaker 1: in May, and it was Trump, not Biden, who was
- 3:30Speaker 1: the first to announce it. Honest truth social We have
- 3:33Speaker 1: a deal for the hostages, he said, though were released soon.
- 3:37Speaker 1: The Times of Israel even reports two anonymous Arab officials
- 3:40Speaker 1: saying Trump's Envoyd did more to persuade net Yahoo in
- 3:44Speaker 1: one meeting than Biden did all year. And then when
- 3:49Speaker 1: Biden today called the press conference about this deal, even
- 3:51Speaker 1: blamed the wrong terrorist group for the October seven massacre
- 3:54Speaker 1: that started this war.
- 3:56Speaker 4: More than fifteen months of conflict I began with, as
- 4:00Speaker 4: well as brutal massacre in October the seventh.
- 4:04Speaker 1: So Donald Trump was crucial. Indeed, you could say he
- 4:09Speaker 1: forced this deal on Netneo. Now maybe Netno, who wanted it,
- 4:13Speaker 1: forced to him, you know, because the Trump's threats gave
- 4:16Speaker 1: him a good excuse to give in. He could say
- 4:19Speaker 1: it was far right coalition members, see, I had to
- 4:22Speaker 1: and so what you know, Harmas that are being mostly destroyed.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And if he gives into a grateful Trump, maybe you'll
- 4:28Speaker 1: get a favor from him.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Oh.
- 4:31Speaker 1: On the other hand, maybe Hamas also caved in out
- 4:33Speaker 1: of sheer fear. All that said, let's look at this
- 4:38Speaker 1: deal that Trump demanded, because it seems to me that
- 4:44Speaker 1: this will actually guarantee Hamas will survive even if it's
- 4:47Speaker 1: badly moled, even if the guard's ruined. It's ruled as
- 4:51Speaker 1: in ruins. Now the full details are a bit cloudy,
- 4:55Speaker 1: but it seems that over the next six weeks Hamas
- 4:58Speaker 1: we'll have to gradually free thirty three of the ninety
- 5:00Speaker 1: eight hostages. It still holds, hostages whose pictures are displayed
- 5:05Speaker 1: everywhere you go in Israel. Now, those ninety eight hostages,
- 5:10Speaker 1: one third are actually thought to be dead, including the
- 5:13Speaker 1: very youngest. The hostages to be released in the first
- 5:16Speaker 1: stage will be women, children of men over fifty. In exchanges,
- 5:19Speaker 1: Israel is supposed to release more than a thousand Palestinian prisoners, murderers,
- 5:25Speaker 1: people on life sentences, convicted terrorists, men even who attacked
- 5:30Speaker 1: Israel on October seven. This army will also withdraw from
- 5:34Speaker 1: settlements and gas and pull back close to the border
- 5:36Speaker 1: the rest of the hostages that we freed, if the
- 5:38Speaker 1: two sites can make another deal for a full withdrawal
- 5:41Speaker 1: over the next six weeks. Now you can already see,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I think why many people in the Israel are worried
- 5:48Speaker 1: about this deal. You can see why it really is
- 5:50Speaker 1: a cease fire and not a peace. A thousand Palestinian terrorists, killers,
- 5:57Speaker 1: criminals going to be released to go back to Gaza,
- 6:00Speaker 1: to go back and join what's left of Hamas, which
- 6:02Speaker 1: is now led by the brother of Yayash Sinwa. Now
- 6:05Speaker 1: that Jaya Sinwa, he was their master leader killed last year,
- 6:08Speaker 1: was himself freed by Israel in a two thousand and
- 6:11Speaker 1: one hostage swap. We'll give you a thousand Palatinian terrorists
- 6:14Speaker 1: and criminals for one Israeli sold you. Well, you see
- 6:17Speaker 1: how that worked out with him. So this is going
- 6:21Speaker 1: to ensure that Hamas weakened, though it is is still
- 6:24Speaker 1: the strongest Palatini enforcing Gaza. Who do you think now
- 6:27Speaker 1: is going to rule Gaza's Israel pulls out? No one
- 6:30Speaker 1: knows who's going to be guarding the trucks of aid
- 6:33Speaker 1: that are going to be supposedly pouring in with Israeli
- 6:36Speaker 1: troops pulling out. Everybody said, oh no, can't be Hamas
- 6:41Speaker 1: ruling Gaza again.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Hamas is the enemy of the Palestinian people, not just
- 6:48Speaker 6: the enemy of the State of Israel.
- 6:52Speaker 1: But who's going to stop them? And do the Palatins
- 6:54Speaker 1: of Gaza see it that way? No more Harmas? Will
- 6:57Speaker 1: they now reject a mass which has visited nothing but
- 7:00Speaker 1: disaster on them, Garza destroyed, tens of thousands of Gazans killed.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Will the Palasines of Gaza now blame Hamas and choosing
- 7:09Speaker 1: new leaders or will they still back these terrorists who
- 7:13Speaker 1: even now have their supporters dancing in the street celebrating
- 7:18Speaker 1: what they are treating as a win. Joining me from
- 7:25Speaker 1: Israel As. Jonathan Conricus, who's been a lieutenant colonel and
- 7:28Speaker 1: the Israeli Defense Forces and also spokesman for it, is
- 7:32Speaker 1: now in the private sector a Senior Fellow at the
- 7:35Speaker 1: Foundation for Defense of Democracies, among other things. Jonathan Conricus,
- 7:41Speaker 1: great to speak to you this cease fire. Is it
- 7:45Speaker 1: actually a bad deal forced on Israel by Donald Trump?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Or is it the best Israel could hope for?
- 7:54Speaker 7: Yes, thank you for having me. You know, I'm very
- 7:58Speaker 7: happy that thirty three families. Hopefully, if the ceasefire is implemented,
- 8:04Speaker 7: and if the deal is implemented, that there will be
- 8:08Speaker 7: comfort and solace for thirty three is Raeli families of hostages.
- 8:12Speaker 7: But that is about where my positivity ends about this deal.
- 8:18Speaker 7: Strategically speaking, it's not good because, as you said correctly,
- 8:23Speaker 7: it leaves Hamas in power. It can be perceived by
- 8:27Speaker 7: Hamas and other terrorists as a victory after fifteen months
- 8:32Speaker 7: of fighting. Is well to be Frank has not achieved
- 8:37Speaker 7: yet its goals of dismantling Hamas, its military capabilities or
- 8:43Speaker 7: its political rule over Gaza. And if you're inclined to
- 8:47Speaker 7: look at it from a Palestinian civilian perspective in Gaza,
- 8:51Speaker 7: it's not good either because the suffering will continue. Yes,
- 8:56Speaker 7: there will be more trucks coming in every day, more
- 8:59Speaker 7: so called humanitarian aid. But the problem is that that
- 9:02Speaker 7: humanitarian aid is just taken and traded by Ramas, and
- 9:08Speaker 7: they leverage it for recruiting new members to their military
- 9:12Speaker 7: wing and for staying in power. So the Palestinians won't
- 9:16Speaker 7: be enjoying any significant change. Gaza will not begin to
- 9:20Speaker 7: be rebuilt. And I hope you know the man who
- 9:25Speaker 7: signed it, Benjamin Eataniau, is by all means a very
- 9:31Speaker 7: shrewd politician. And I do not yet know all the
- 9:35Speaker 7: details of this deal. As I understand them now, it
- 9:39Speaker 7: is not a good deal. But I can imagine that
- 9:42Speaker 7: there are events in the future or clauses in the
- 9:45Speaker 7: deal that will be better for Israel. But as we
- 9:48Speaker 7: understand it now, not a good deal for Israel.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I suspect I will involve taking on Iran, But yes,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I agree with you. I mean, for one, who's now
- 9:58Speaker 1: going to provide security for those vans of aid coming in?
- 10:02Speaker 1: I mean Hamafs have got the gunman there, I suspected
- 10:05Speaker 1: will goes straight to them. Doesn't this deal also do
- 10:09Speaker 1: one more thing prove to Israel's enemies that taking Jewish hostages,
- 10:14Speaker 1: as Hamas did on October seven, it pays you've got
- 10:19Speaker 1: the card and not only that you've got to literally
- 10:22Speaker 1: a jail get out of jail free card for thousands
- 10:26Speaker 1: potentially of terrorists.
- 10:31Speaker 7: Sadly, thousands or one hundreds and maybe more than a
- 10:34Speaker 7: thousand terrorists will be released from Israeli prisons. And this
- 10:40Speaker 7: rings familiar. The last time that we did a big
- 10:43Speaker 7: prisoner release was about twenty years ago and one certain
- 10:49Speaker 7: yeah Jasin while the former leader of Hamas in Gaza,
- 10:53Speaker 7: was released from Israeli prison in return for one abducted
- 10:58Speaker 7: Israeli soldier, corporal giladje D.
- 11:00Speaker 1: That was many years ago.
- 11:02Speaker 7: And then Sinoir went on to lead the Ramas and
- 11:08Speaker 7: it was the mastermind of October seven, this tremendous catastrophe.
- 11:11Speaker 1: So yes, that is bad.
- 11:14Speaker 7: There's always this issue now, you know, whenever a deeally struck,
- 11:17Speaker 7: then usually Arabs who fight against Israel claim victory and
- 11:22Speaker 7: Israelis are left feeling a bit sour about the achievements.
- 11:27Speaker 7: I'm not happy about destruction, and I'm never happy about,
- 11:31Speaker 7: you know, civilian suffering, but I think it's a very
- 11:34Speaker 7: hard sell for Hamas and anybody else to you know,
- 11:39Speaker 7: stand in Gaza, look around, do a quick three sixty
- 11:42Speaker 7: and say we won I don't think that they won.
- 11:45Speaker 7: I don't think that they won for their families. I
- 11:48Speaker 7: don't think that they won for their future. The only
- 11:50Speaker 7: thing that Haramas can say is that they're still in power,
- 11:53Speaker 7: which is a bad thing. But I hope that that
- 11:56Speaker 7: is a temporary thing. And I am encouraged by the
- 12:00Speaker 7: fact that President elect Trump and all of his senior
- 12:05Speaker 7: appointed officials are clear and repeatedly say that Hamas in
- 12:10Speaker 7: their mind, will not have a future in governing the
- 12:14Speaker 7: Gaza strip.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And that's very important. Now.
- 12:16Speaker 7: The question is how will that be brought about, because
- 12:19Speaker 7: this deal allows them to continue.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Yes, you and whose army is going to stop them
- 12:26Speaker 1: if Israel is not there? Jonathan Conricis, thank you so
- 12:29Speaker 1: much indeed for your analysis. But the reaction to this
- 12:33Speaker 1: deal not just the Palestinians who say, oh, this is
- 12:37Speaker 1: a victory. They're standing on a paper ruins thinking we
- 12:40Speaker 1: did at least we killed some Jews, I mean, unbelievable,
- 12:43Speaker 1: but Palestinians here the reaction is also deeply troubling, including
- 12:49Speaker 1: today right here on Sky News this morning, the Prime
- 12:53Speaker 1: Minister said, great, this is far mucha school down the
- 12:56Speaker 1: Jew hatred.
- 12:58Speaker 6: I certainly hopeing it consistently called for a lowering of
- 13:03Speaker 6: the temperature.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Here.
- 13:05Speaker 6: Australians, I believe, wanted to see the hostages released. They
- 13:11Speaker 6: wanted to see an end to conflict. They also don't
- 13:15Speaker 6: want conflict brought here.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yeah great, but I'll tell you how much work Albany
- 13:20Speaker 1: is yes to do today. It's been illustrated. Still now
- 13:23Speaker 1: it was illustrated proved just a couple of hours later
- 13:27Speaker 1: when Scarns invaded. Nasa Mashni, head of the Australia Palestine
- 13:31Speaker 1: Adveracy Network, to comment on this cease fire mistake. In
- 13:36Speaker 1: my opinion, Now, first that's because of some background you
- 13:39Speaker 1: don't hear on the ABC. Nasa Mashne's father came to
- 13:43Speaker 1: Australia nineteen sixty after joining the so called Palasinine Resistance
- 13:48Speaker 1: and was jailed by Jordan, not Israel. Jordan, his sponsor
- 13:53Speaker 1: to come here, falsely told Australian authorities, well, this guy's
- 13:57Speaker 1: actually a Christian convert fleeing some intolerance and torture in Lebanon.
- 14:02Speaker 1: It fled to Lebanon, but once here Nasa Mashni's father
- 14:06Speaker 1: helped form the Australian wing of the Fatah Movement of
- 14:08Speaker 1: Islamis terrorists Yasser Arafat, and at his funeral tributes were
- 14:13Speaker 1: read out from, among others, Ishmael Haniah, who's then head
- 14:18Speaker 1: of Hamas, the terrorist group now NASA. Mashni, the son
- 14:24Speaker 1: now has since preached a contempt for Australia, has some
- 14:27Speaker 1: of the many Propalacinian rallies is addressed or helped to organize.
- 14:31Speaker 8: I know you feel that waving the Australian flag might
- 14:35Speaker 8: make a racist white person think that you're acceptable, but
- 14:39Speaker 8: that is the colonized flag that does not belong here.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yet. This is the man who Foreign Minister Penny Wong
- 14:50Speaker 1: has given an audience to sympathize with tweeted pictures of
- 14:54Speaker 1: you get the picture. But Tamashni's appearance today and sky
- 14:58Speaker 1: News after the Prome minsterger just said all the temp
- 15:00Speaker 1: can be dialed down. As if from Ashley today, we've
- 15:05Speaker 1: got yet another anti Israel rant, a call for the
- 15:08Speaker 1: end of Israel, false claims that the committed the genocide
- 15:10Speaker 1: and apardoid false claims deliberately assassinated Astray aid worker and
- 15:15Speaker 1: an appeal to boycott Israel.
- 15:18Speaker 9: Israel is an apartheid, genocidal regime and no state, no
- 15:22Speaker 9: state has the right to exist in the way that
- 15:23Speaker 9: Israel does. Treat Israel as the pariah. It is zombie.
- 15:27Speaker 9: Frankin was assassinated in Palestine. Support the boycott, investment sanctions
- 15:31Speaker 9: campaign because we should all be working towards a country,
- 15:33Speaker 9: a Palestine that's decolonized.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And if you're hoping for less due hatred, well Mashlei
- 15:41Speaker 1: complained the Jews were actually protected and Palestinians here they
- 15:47Speaker 1: were unprotected of the real victims.
- 15:50Speaker 10: Do you think there will be less anti Semitic incidents
- 15:53Speaker 10: from here on in?
- 15:58Speaker 9: That's an absurd question. The challenge we have in Australia
- 16:01Speaker 9: is not just about anti Semitism, it's about anti Palestinian racism.
- 16:05Speaker 9: The fact is that there is no power, no power
- 16:09Speaker 9: to anti Palestinian racism. People can be anti Palestinian racists,
- 16:13Speaker 9: say what they want about our movement, say what they
- 16:16Speaker 9: want about me and anyone that supports justice for Palestinians,
- 16:19Speaker 9: and there are no repercussions with respect to anti Semitism.
- 16:23Speaker 9: There is a massive power in balance.
- 16:26Speaker 1: No, it might be a cease far, but the war
- 16:28Speaker 1: against Israel continues, and not just in the Middle East
- 16:32Speaker 1: but here joining me his Nationals front bench of Barnaby
- 16:39Speaker 1: Joyce for former Deputy Prime Minister, is in Tamworth of
- 16:41Speaker 1: the Country Music Festival. I've got to get to Tammy soon,
- 16:46Speaker 1: Barnaby lovely to see. Mate. You should have put on
- 16:49Speaker 1: that had a bit earlier. Maybe I think you got
- 16:51Speaker 1: a look on.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I've been in a pool. That's what's start.
- 16:54Speaker 1: That is that what it is? Anthony albert Ezi says
- 16:59Speaker 1: he now hopes CEIs far ideal. It's going to lower
- 17:01Speaker 1: the temperature and tendency. Do you think it will? I mean,
- 17:05Speaker 1: is that the Prime Minister's job done well?
- 17:08Speaker 5: I hope it does, but whether it does depends on.
- 17:13Speaker 11: What he does in communities that are inspiring hate. I'll
- 17:18Speaker 11: take that gentleman up who's saying that there's an anti
- 17:21Speaker 11: Palestinian racism or I haven't seen people going around spray
- 17:26Speaker 11: painting Palestinian mosque or Palestinian churches with anti Palestinian slogans.
- 17:33Speaker 11: I don't see the demonstrations walking up and down the
- 17:37Speaker 11: streets screaming about Palestine. But we are seeing the sort
- 17:42Speaker 11: of coalestion or coalescing of a whole range of issues
- 17:45Speaker 11: under the Palestinian issue and those demonstrations and that graffiti,
- 17:49Speaker 11: and the threat to Jewish people and the dosing of
- 17:53Speaker 11: Jewish people in Australia. So it's when you say that
- 17:58Speaker 11: there's not an issue anti Semitism, you're not telling the truth.
- 18:02Speaker 11: And I hope it all everybody hopes this issue that
- 18:06Speaker 11: heat comes out of it. Who want a war? Who'd
- 18:08Speaker 11: want people to be dying and children to be made
- 18:12Speaker 11: No one, No one wants that. But this war was
- 18:15Speaker 11: started by Hamas. A mus invaded Israel. A Musk murdered
- 18:19Speaker 11: and killed and raped and beheaded, beheaded people and mutilated
- 18:23Speaker 11: children and did all these terrible things. And when you
- 18:26Speaker 11: invade a country and start a war, then the ramifications
- 18:30Speaker 11: of the war naturally follows.
- 18:31Speaker 5: As it's idious as that is.
- 18:34Speaker 11: And well, now we have to see whether that issue
- 18:38Speaker 11: now gets some common sense. But I don't see how
- 18:42Speaker 11: you end up negotiating with a terrorist organization.
- 18:45Speaker 5: It's not a government, it's a terrorists.
- 18:47Speaker 11: Hamas is a terrorist organization, And how you end up
- 18:50Speaker 11: doing a deal with them, I don't know.
- 18:51Speaker 5: You have to have the wisdom of Solomon for that one.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Trump has made a deal that keeps Hamas not just
- 18:58Speaker 1: still in Gaza, but also reinforces it with a thousand,
- 19:02Speaker 1: potentially one thousand terrorists. I mean, this is quite extraordinary.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Barnaby switching it talking about the sun. I was ticked
- 19:13Speaker 1: off yesterday by another guest on Sky. Honestly, people are
- 19:15Speaker 1: going to start saying, why come on Sky because Andrew
- 19:18Speaker 1: Bolt will attack you. But really, a KPMG partner predicting
- 19:22Speaker 1: that global warming is going to cause terrible destruction over
- 19:25Speaker 1: the next year, here she is.
- 19:28Speaker 10: We're seeing increased social polarization, increased disintegration and disruption from
- 19:34Speaker 10: climate change.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Increased disintegration. Seriously, but Barnaby, what's actually caused more devastation?
- 19:42Speaker 1: Do you think to countries like Australia, is it really
- 19:45Speaker 1: climate change or is it climate change policies involving taxes
- 19:52Speaker 1: and cutting our electricity is applied to ribbons and things
- 19:56Speaker 1: like that.
- 19:58Speaker 5: Well, let's look at your constantly.
- 20:00Speaker 11: It's the biggest issue about and there's a direct correlation
- 20:03Speaker 11: between your cost of living basically going beyond your capacity
- 20:07Speaker 11: to find the money for it, your power bills going
- 20:09Speaker 11: through the roof, your groceries are going up because power
- 20:13Speaker 11: underpins that. There are so many issues that are connected
- 20:16Speaker 11: to energy, which is what this sort of climate cult
- 20:20Speaker 11: wants to get rid of. They want to get rid
- 20:21Speaker 11: of the production of energy and replace it with intermitted power,
- 20:24Speaker 11: which just.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Does not work. This argument's going to be won by
- 20:27Speaker 5: two things.
- 20:28Speaker 11: Physics because it just doesn't work, and economics because you
- 20:31Speaker 11: go trying to make it work. And what we're seeing
- 20:34Speaker 11: with this is incredible, this holistic role out of intermittence
- 20:39Speaker 11: is a loss of your standard of living. You are
- 20:41Speaker 11: becoming poorer. We've seen research and recently the making of
- 20:46Speaker 11: Australia poorer is now more prevalent, more evident, more profound.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Than we have for decades in the past.
- 20:54Speaker 11: And there's a direct correlation between that and intimitive power.
- 20:57Speaker 11: And you know, you can have this argu and go
- 21:00Speaker 11: round around with so many people and have this argument,
- 21:02Speaker 11: and then you have to throw your hands up and say, oh.
- 21:04Speaker 12: Look, you're two wise, You've got it all worked out.
- 21:07Speaker 12: So just continue on with the path you're on. And
- 21:10Speaker 12: you are now responsible to what happens, what happens to people,
- 21:14Speaker 12: You were responsible for it. And by the way, if
- 21:16Speaker 12: the climate, if you don't fix the climate, if it
- 21:18Speaker 12: doesn't change, all the cyclones and bushwise that you attribute
- 21:22Speaker 12: to climate change, you attribute to the production of energy.
- 21:24Speaker 12: If that doesn't change, are you going to resign because
- 21:27Speaker 12: you absolutely resigned Australia to a fate where you actually
- 21:31Speaker 12: smashed our economy and our people won't put that cave
- 21:35Speaker 12: it on it, but what they want.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Mister Bowen's not going to resign if the climate.
- 21:38Speaker 11: Doesn't change, even though it goes out and professes that
- 21:42Speaker 11: this is all about changing the climate back. But well,
- 21:44Speaker 11: if it doesn't, Chris, are you going to just hand
- 21:47Speaker 11: in the keys, mate, because.
- 21:51Speaker 1: They'll be long gone. They'll be long gone, just quickly
- 21:54Speaker 1: to the amount of time it's going to ask you
- 21:55Speaker 1: have a cabinet reshuffle. But something more interesting. I haven't
- 21:58Speaker 1: really listened to much country music since the death of
- 22:00Speaker 1: the great, great great Slim Dusty. Can you tell me,
- 22:04Speaker 1: being at the time with Country News Festival, what bands
- 22:08Speaker 1: we should be listening to? Who are the real inheritors
- 22:12Speaker 1: of that ballad balladier of the bush Well?
- 22:16Speaker 5: I suppose the pre eminent one woul be Troy Cassa Daily.
- 22:20Speaker 11: The thing about Tamworth Music City is that if you
- 22:24Speaker 11: come here you can find any music you want it.
- 22:25Speaker 5: There's a lot of music. They say his country and
- 22:28Speaker 5: they didn't tell you it was country music. You wouldn't
- 22:30Speaker 5: know it was country music.
- 22:31Speaker 11: There's the genuine slim Dusty type.
- 22:36Speaker 5: I can't do that generally.
- 22:39Speaker 11: There's the slim Dusty type country music all the way
- 22:42Speaker 11: through to the sort of country rock which really is just.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Baby. I think you've answered my question already. You've answered already.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It stopped with slim Dusty. I'm just going to have
- 22:54Speaker 1: to play some more of that when the rain tumbles
- 22:57Speaker 1: down in July, or the old drovers a mentor whatever.
- 23:01Speaker 1: But take some notes and let's talk next week about
- 23:05Speaker 1: your spot for the next great slim Dusty. I'm looking
- 23:09Speaker 1: forward to that. Have a good time, mate. After the break,
- 23:15Speaker 1: A man arrested over an alleged death threat to someone
- 23:17Speaker 1: I had on my show just two nights ago, and
- 23:20Speaker 1: I speak to him again. Plus a warning if you're
- 23:23Speaker 1: driving a Chinese made car. Now to breaking news. I
- 23:31Speaker 1: mentioned earlier the due hatred that's exploded over Australia. Earlier
- 23:35Speaker 1: this week, I David Adler on this show, head of
- 23:38Speaker 1: the austrang Jewish Association. Now, about six months ago he
- 23:42Speaker 1: was about to give evidence to a Senate inquiry on
- 23:45Speaker 1: supposed misinformation when his association was sent a death threat.
- 23:51Speaker 1: David Adler joins me. Now, David, good to see you again.
- 23:56Speaker 1: You've now, just a couple of hours ago, been wrung
- 23:59Speaker 1: by the strength federal police. What did they tell you?
- 24:04Speaker 2: We were called actually in the morning and advised that
- 24:07Speaker 2: an arrest had been made, which is good news. We
- 24:13Speaker 2: first met with the special unit that is focused on
- 24:18Speaker 2: anti Semitism called Project Avelite in mid December, and in
- 24:24Speaker 2: preparation for that meeting, Andrew, rather than go there and
- 24:29Speaker 2: say hello, how are you and have a cup of tea,
- 24:32Speaker 2: we did some preparatory work and we put together a
- 24:35Speaker 2: dossier of events with evidence to give the AFP an
- 24:43Speaker 2: overview of the sort of things that had been happening
- 24:47Speaker 2: against the Jewish community in Australia. And to their great credit,
- 24:53Speaker 2: they came back to us in just over a week
- 24:57Speaker 2: ago and said that we've identified, out of the material
- 25:02Speaker 2: that you gave us, a couple of matters that we
- 25:05Speaker 2: wish to pursue, and they asked us to make statements,
- 25:10Speaker 2: formal statements, which we did and now they've made their
- 25:15Speaker 2: first arrest. So they've moved very quickly on this particular matter,
- 25:21Speaker 2: and it's refreshing because one of the concerns in the
- 25:26Speaker 2: Jewish community since the seventh of October twenty twenty three
- 25:30Speaker 2: is that our law enforcement has not been focused, has
- 25:35Speaker 2: not been taking action against the numerous anti Semitic incidents
- 25:41Speaker 2: and threats that have occurred across Australia.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Now the police have not said what death threat they're
- 25:48Speaker 1: talking about, though it was Levy they say against an
- 25:52Speaker 1: association or your Australian Jewish association was sent a picture
- 25:59Speaker 1: of of a hangman's nurse with a warning that not
- 26:04Speaker 1: to go and give evidence of this inquiry or you
- 26:07Speaker 1: would be killed. Essentially. Now Blacktown man, aged forty four,
- 26:15Speaker 1: has been charged with one count of using carriage service
- 26:17Speaker 1: to make a threat to kill, another one of using
- 26:20Speaker 1: carriage service and menace, harassle cause offense. Did that threat
- 26:25Speaker 1: and we're not saying it was this man. Let the
- 26:29Speaker 1: law take it, and we're not even saying this necessarily
- 26:32Speaker 1: was this instance? But did that threat stop you from
- 26:35Speaker 1: giving that evidence?
- 26:38Speaker 2: I was contacted by the staff of the Senate Committee
- 26:43Speaker 2: the morning before we were due to give evidence and
- 26:47Speaker 2: offered the opportunity to give our evidence in camera, which
- 26:52Speaker 2: means out of the public view. And I declined that
- 26:57Speaker 2: offer and said no, our our evidence should be given
- 27:02Speaker 2: in the normal matter, on the public record. And there
- 27:07Speaker 2: were two of us in addition to myself, Robert Gregory,
- 27:10Speaker 2: our CEO, and I did our presentation. And the interesting thing, also, Andrew,
- 27:18Speaker 2: is that this particular Senate inquiry had nothing specific to
- 27:22Speaker 2: do with Israel, nothing to do with the Middle East conflict.
- 27:26Speaker 2: It was us engaging in the Australian democratic processes, as
- 27:32Speaker 2: any organization can do. And nevertheless this threat came to
- 27:39Speaker 2: warn us off, so to speak. So at the end
- 27:43Speaker 2: of our evidence we made a statement to the senators
- 27:47Speaker 2: to make sure that what had happened was on the
- 27:51Speaker 2: public record.
- 27:53Speaker 1: David Adler, you a strange Jewish association has been pretty
- 27:57Speaker 1: strong in standing up to a lot of stuff. Thank
- 28:00Speaker 1: you again for standing up to that particular example, and
- 28:03Speaker 1: thank you very much for your time. After the break,
- 28:09Speaker 1: You've got to see this Joe Biden's bizarre farewell addressed
- 28:13Speaker 1: to America. When you see it, ye'll thank Heavens again.
- 28:17Speaker 1: That is going. The US Company yesterday banned Chinese and
- 28:25Speaker 1: Russian technology in cars due to national security concerns. It'll
- 28:30Speaker 1: target new models coming up that have cameras and microphones,
- 28:34Speaker 1: GPS tracking and Internet connectivity and can be used to
- 28:38Speaker 1: exploit data. We've already had a warning that we here
- 28:42Speaker 1: should be doing something similar. Alison McGibbon, who used to
- 28:45Speaker 1: be our National cybersecurity Advisor, said, we will on the
- 28:48Speaker 1: wrong side of history as a country if we don't
- 28:50Speaker 1: act now. It's not about whether something is manufactured in China,
- 28:53Speaker 1: it's about whether it requires a constant connection Internet connection
- 28:57Speaker 1: with China to function. Join me is Paul Gover for
- 29:01Speaker 1: macar Racer and one of our most experienced motoring journalists,
- 29:04Speaker 1: inducted even into the Supercars Media Hall of Fame. Paul,
- 29:09Speaker 1: great to see you again. Now we have discussed this
- 29:12Speaker 1: danger before, you've been all up on it. Now the
- 29:16Speaker 1: US has acted. What is the danger that it's tackling.
- 29:22Speaker 13: Well, there's two fronts to this, Andrew. There is obviously
- 29:25Speaker 13: the cyber side of things, which is what the government
- 29:28Speaker 13: over there is talking about. There is also a situation
- 29:31Speaker 13: where the Chinese imports are flooding into America and they
- 29:35Speaker 13: obviously are worried about their manufacturing industry in the USA. Obviously,
- 29:40Speaker 13: these days, we don't have a manufacturing industry in Australia.
- 29:43Speaker 13: But the same problems, the same questions, the same doubts
- 29:47Speaker 13: arise about these cars and they are flooding into Australia.
- 29:53Speaker 1: So what are they I mean, is it the fact
- 29:55Speaker 1: that is it the idea that China can spy? And
- 29:58Speaker 1: how real is that danger? How serious is it?
- 30:04Speaker 13: Honestly, I'm not a tech guru, so I don't know
- 30:06Speaker 13: these things. But what I can tell you is through
- 30:10Speaker 13: last year and through what we know in the first
- 30:13Speaker 13: half of this year, we're talking about fifty fifteen Chinese
- 30:17Speaker 13: brands setting up in Australia. That's not models, that's brands
- 30:22Speaker 13: coming to Australia. Now, the technology that's in these cars
- 30:26Speaker 13: is pretty commonplace in a lot of new cars these days.
- 30:29Speaker 13: It started off in your high end Mercedes, Benzes and
- 30:32Speaker 13: BMWs that sort of thing, but these days it is very,
- 30:36Speaker 13: very commonplace, and a lot of the safety systems they
- 30:39Speaker 13: have are required to get a five star safety score
- 30:43Speaker 13: with testing in Australia. These are things like keeping in
- 30:46Speaker 13: your own lane, navigation, automatic breaking, that sort of stuff.
- 30:51Speaker 13: But what that does is it means they have huge, huge,
- 30:55Speaker 13: huge computing power.
- 30:56Speaker 1: In these cars.
- 30:57Speaker 13: And the other thing is they have what it's called
- 31:00Speaker 13: over the air updates.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So just as your.
- 31:04Speaker 13: Mobile phone can have an operational update, you know it
- 31:07Speaker 13: says at eleven o'clock tonight, we're going to update your phone,
- 31:10Speaker 13: the same thing can happen to your car.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Now, in some ways that's.
- 31:14Speaker 13: A good thing, but really is it a good thing?
- 31:18Speaker 13: Do we really need the Chinese to be doing this
- 31:20Speaker 13: if we can't have Huawei, you know telecommunication stuff in Australia. Well,
- 31:25Speaker 13: a car is a lot more computer savvy than a
- 31:29Speaker 13: mobile phone, and having them on air basically all the
- 31:33Speaker 13: time so that they can be controlled in some way
- 31:36Speaker 13: or updated in some way directly from China creates big questions.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Yes, indeed they can be switched off. You suddenly can't
- 31:46Speaker 1: May you find your car not in a moment of crisis,
- 31:49Speaker 1: not being able to operate? And of course in the
- 31:51Speaker 1: days of Syria, everyone knows there's no telling that you
- 31:54Speaker 1: can what they can be listening in to you about.
- 31:57Speaker 1: And that is particularly concerned when government leats by so
- 32:02Speaker 1: many electric cars, particularly from China. Should we be doing
- 32:07Speaker 1: something similar, Should we be doing a ban on these things?
- 32:12Speaker 13: I don't know about a bad but we definitely need
- 32:14Speaker 13: to investigate what's going on. To Andrew, the reason why
- 32:18Speaker 13: is because there are so many of them coming here
- 32:21Speaker 13: to Australia. The Chinese have ambitions to be the number
- 32:24Speaker 13: one car selling brand in Australia. That's knocking out Toyota,
- 32:28Speaker 13: which has been number one for more than twenty years.
- 32:31Speaker 13: That sort of volume of cars coming in, that sort
- 32:34Speaker 13: of commitment from China is going to only grow. If
- 32:37Speaker 13: they can't ship cars to America or they're being shipped
- 32:41Speaker 13: to America with big price penalties, then they're going.
- 32:43Speaker 1: To ship more of them to Australia.
- 32:44Speaker 13: Now, from the feedback I've had from Canberra, Camebra is
- 32:48Speaker 13: really happy because most of these cars that are coming
- 32:51Speaker 13: in are electric and that suits their electric agenda, so
- 32:54Speaker 13: they're not so much concerned about whether there's.
- 32:57Speaker 1: A security risk.
- 32:58Speaker 13: What they love is that it's facing Australians all luring
- 33:02Speaker 13: people into getting electric cars. Well, what a conflict of
- 33:05Speaker 13: interest that would be, Andrew, Well, you stunned me with.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Your cynics in Paul Gover. Actually I don't thinaceudical enough.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Thank you so much indeed for your time, lovely to
- 33:16Speaker 1: talk to you thanks. Seriously, He's right. You know, Joe
- 33:21Speaker 1: Biden's time as your president has overcome Monday, but he
- 33:25Speaker 1: couldn't leave without one more example this morning of why
- 33:28Speaker 1: he's such a fraud.
- 33:31Speaker 4: This will be my final address to you from the
- 33:33Speaker 4: American people from the Oval Office.
- 33:35Speaker 1: This his final address to the nation as president, where
- 33:38Speaker 1: he had the hide the hypocrisy to bow out with
- 33:41Speaker 1: this profound warning and a wack of Donald Trump and
- 33:44Speaker 1: It's new best the elon musk.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I want to warran a country of some things that
- 33:49Speaker 4: give me great concern. This is a dangerous continent and
- 33:54Speaker 4: that's the dangerous conversation of power and the hands were
- 33:57Speaker 4: very few ultrawealthy people the dangerous consequences if their abuse
- 34:03Speaker 4: of power is left unchecked. Today, an oligarchy is taking
- 34:08Speaker 4: shape in America of extreme wealth, power and influence that
- 34:12Speaker 4: literally threads our entire democracy, our basic grades and freedoms.
- 34:17Speaker 1: If you're rich and greedy, and you know, the irresponsible
- 34:23Speaker 1: elite really is the problem. Why has Biden his four
- 34:26Speaker 1: years in office not done anything about it? Why has
- 34:29Speaker 1: he not tackled these oligarchs ripping people off, like maybe
- 34:32Speaker 1: the Silicon Valley billionaires and tech bosses is backed his
- 34:36Speaker 1: presidential campaign four years ago, and why did he just
- 34:39Speaker 1: pardoner his rich son Hunter before Hunter was sentenced for
- 34:43Speaker 1: not paying two million dollars of taxes that he owed.
- 34:48Speaker 1: But speaking of those tech bosses, especially musks going to avext,
- 34:52Speaker 1: the social media giant, Biden had a dark warning about them.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Americans are being buried under an avalanche of misinformation and
- 35:01Speaker 4: disinformation enabling the abuse of power. Free press is crumbling.
- 35:07Speaker 4: It's a disappearance. Social media is giving up on fact checking.
- 35:13Speaker 4: The truth is smothered by lies taught for power and
- 35:17Speaker 4: for profit. We must hold the social platform an accountable.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Lies that's so rich from a president had Twitter sensor
- 35:26Speaker 1: his opponent, Donald Trump, who had social media censor false
- 35:30Speaker 1: claims that his son's damning light laptop was just Russian misinformation,
- 35:35Speaker 1: as Barden himself falsely claimed, I mean joining me is
- 35:38Speaker 1: the panel James McPherson from the late debate here on
- 35:41Speaker 1: sky News an Evolyn Ray Farmer, former pop policeman and
- 35:44Speaker 1: sky News regular James Biden's farewell speech? What did you
- 35:48Speaker 1: make of it?
- 35:50Speaker 14: Well, Andrew, I thought he wellatily established his legacy, and
- 35:53Speaker 14: his legacy will be that Jimmy Carter is no longer
- 35:56Speaker 14: regarded as the worst US president in history. That on,
- 36:00Speaker 14: we'll well and truly go to Joe Biden, and he
- 36:02Speaker 14: proved why in his final speech. I mean, he talked
- 36:06Speaker 14: about the danger of power being centralized in the hands
- 36:10Speaker 14: of just a few. This is a guy who mumbled
- 36:12Speaker 14: and stumbled through a seventeen minute speech. He could barely
- 36:15Speaker 14: read it, which left us all wondering, as we have
- 36:18Speaker 14: been for the past four years, who's really been running
- 36:21Speaker 14: the United States. Well, we got a clue when he
- 36:23Speaker 14: gave out US Presidential Medals of Freedom to Hillary Clinton,
- 36:27Speaker 14: George Soross. He might as well have given one to
- 36:30Speaker 14: Darth Vader. We've seen the last four years a very
- 36:33Speaker 14: small group of people run the US through Joe Biden
- 36:37Speaker 14: as their puppet. When he talks about misinformation, this is
- 36:40Speaker 14: a president whose administration have banged on for the past
- 36:43Speaker 14: four years telling us that men can get pregnant. Please
- 36:46Speaker 14: don't talk to me about misinformation. And as for Robert Barons,
- 36:50Speaker 14: he referred to Trump as such. Donald Trump, when he
- 36:54Speaker 14: was president last time, took a wage of one dollar
- 36:57Speaker 14: a year because the Constitution required him to take something,
- 37:01Speaker 14: and so he took a dollar. And for Biden, who
- 37:04Speaker 14: used his position as vice president to enrich his family
- 37:08Speaker 14: by selling his influence, to talk about the Republicans as
- 37:14Speaker 14: Robert Barons is just the height of hypocrisy. This is
- 37:17Speaker 14: a guy who spent fifty years in politics and aside
- 37:20Speaker 14: from having his nose in the trough, has really accomplished
- 37:24Speaker 14: not very much at all, which kind of reminds me
- 37:26Speaker 14: of an Australian politician right now.
- 37:30Speaker 1: And don't forget he also forgave pardoned his some for
- 37:34Speaker 1: ripping off taxpayer indeed, but Evelyn, what you know, you
- 37:38Speaker 1: see that and you think, my goodness, then you're going
- 37:41Speaker 1: to get, particularly the delivery of it. What a difference
- 37:44Speaker 1: is going to make on Monday. It's really like two
- 37:47Speaker 1: forty vaults has been run through the White House to
- 37:50Speaker 1: know that Donald Trump is coming.
- 37:54Speaker 10: Oh absolutely. You know, what Biden did is just what
- 37:57Speaker 10: Democrats do. He's being a Democrat. You know, it is
- 38:00Speaker 10: entirely predictable, and everything that they do is just pure projection.
- 38:04Speaker 10: The only way that they can lead is through control,
- 38:08Speaker 10: and the way that they gain control is through fear.
- 38:11Speaker 10: It's all that they've got. And you know, this is
- 38:14Speaker 10: just Biden's last ditch effort to just further so division,
- 38:18Speaker 10: further so anxiety and fear in the left, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 10: right before Trump comes in, because you know, if they
- 38:25Speaker 10: can make it as hard for Trump to transition into
- 38:28Speaker 10: power as possible, that's exactly what they're going to do,
- 38:30Speaker 10: so that you know, there's a bit of you know,
- 38:32Speaker 10: smoothing out the edges as his transitions, they can just
- 38:35Speaker 10: totally blame it on him instead of the four years
- 38:38Speaker 10: of absolute hell that Americans have had to live through.
- 38:42Speaker 10: You know, they can't debate, they can't say things with facts.
- 38:45Speaker 10: That's why they have to constantly lie. And thank goodness,
- 38:49Speaker 10: Trump's going to come in because I cannot wait for
- 38:52Speaker 10: them to just be as far out of my sight
- 38:54Speaker 10: as possible.
- 38:57Speaker 1: The thing is, James, a lot of people have, I think,
- 39:01Speaker 1: think like everly at least we're going to have some
- 39:03Speaker 1: sort of leadership. But the thing about Trump is, you
- 39:05Speaker 1: take this this rail deal right, He's shown amazing power already,
- 39:09Speaker 1: his influence on the world, it's unbelievable, it's not been
- 39:12Speaker 1: sworn in, and he gets this deal done that Biden couldn't.
- 39:15Speaker 1: But the thing to me about that is, yes, an
- 39:20Speaker 1: exercise in power. But it's imposed a deal that's actually
- 39:24Speaker 1: not a very good one for Israel ator and I'm
- 39:27Speaker 1: just thinking he just wants it for the headline. I've
- 39:30Speaker 1: come in, I've shown my power. I said, do this
- 39:33Speaker 1: deal before Monday orhere else, and I've got the deal,
- 39:36Speaker 1: and I've created peace. Like it's for him his interest.
- 39:39Speaker 1: That is what still worries me.
- 39:42Speaker 14: Yeah, that deal is really interesting, Andrew. I mean, for months,
- 39:45Speaker 14: Joe Biden's message was don't and the world, especially the
- 39:49Speaker 14: Middle East, ignored him. Then Trump comes along and says,
- 39:52Speaker 14: I'll unleash all hell if you don't get a deal
- 39:54Speaker 14: done by the twentieth and suddenly a deal is done.
- 39:57Speaker 14: Of course, Biden is claiming credit for that. And if
- 40:00Speaker 14: I was Trump, I would let Biden have the credit
- 40:02Speaker 14: for that deal, because it's not a great deal. Basically,
- 40:05Speaker 14: Israel a being forced to release the next lot of
- 40:08Speaker 14: terrorists in exchange for the hostages. It's not a wonderful deal.
- 40:12Speaker 14: But I think what Trump is doing is he's finally
- 40:15Speaker 14: establishing American leadership again. I mean, you've heard him talk
- 40:19Speaker 14: about he wants to take over Canada, he wants to
- 40:21Speaker 14: take over Greenland. He wants to take over the Padama Canal.
- 40:24Speaker 14: He's going to rename the Golf of Mexico the Golf
- 40:26Speaker 14: of America. The media go into hysterics, But what Trump
- 40:29Speaker 14: is doing. He's not talking to the media. He's talking
- 40:32Speaker 14: to China. He's talking to America's adversaries. And for the
- 40:35Speaker 14: first time in a long time, the world is on edge,
- 40:38Speaker 14: and as part of the free world, I don't think
- 40:40Speaker 14: that's a bad thing. I think we want the enemies
- 40:43Speaker 14: of freedom to be a little bit on edge. So
- 40:46Speaker 14: I share some of your concerns about Trump's ego, but
- 40:49Speaker 14: at least for the first time in a long time,
- 40:52Speaker 14: suddenly America are on the front foot and they've got
- 40:55Speaker 14: the initiative, and long may that continue.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Evan. Then I've got to apologized to you. We wanted
- 41:01Speaker 1: to squeeze in that breaking news, so this panel is
- 41:03Speaker 1: too short, shorter than usual. I'll come back next week
- 41:07Speaker 1: and give you much longer ago apologies for that, but
- 41:10Speaker 1: thank you both to Jason Person and Evelyn Ray. After
- 41:14Speaker 1: the break, Najel Faraj a stunning new poll that shows
- 41:19Speaker 1: that he could become Britain's next prime minister. Back up,
- 41:26Speaker 1: back up, back up, Big News just breaking this piece
- 41:30Speaker 1: is ceas far a deal. Israel's cabinet was supposed to
- 41:34Speaker 1: be meeting on about seven minutes from now to ink
- 41:40Speaker 1: the deal. The Prime Minister's office has just said, wait, wait,
- 41:44Speaker 1: we're calling off that meeting for now. Hamas is backing
- 41:48Speaker 1: out of the explicit understandings. This is a statement from
- 41:51Speaker 1: the Prime Minister backing out of the explicit understandings agreed
- 41:54Speaker 1: upon with the mediators and is around a last minute
- 41:56Speaker 1: blackmail attempt. I suspect that's got something to do with
- 41:59Speaker 1: where Israeli troops are still allowed to be in Gaza.
- 42:03Speaker 1: So it says it says Israel will not set a
- 42:06Speaker 1: debt for a date for the cabinet meeting and a
- 42:08Speaker 1: government meeting to approve this deal until the mediators announced
- 42:14Speaker 1: the Hamas has approved all the details of the agreement,
- 42:16Speaker 1: so it still could be off, still could be off.
- 42:20Speaker 1: So that is huge. Also, something huge, by the way,
- 42:25Speaker 1: is what's happening in Britain. I mean around the world
- 42:28Speaker 1: that we've discussed at last night, we're seeing voters turn
- 42:31Speaker 1: to the right, particularly on immigration. It seemed that the
- 42:34Speaker 1: exception was Britain last year voting labor. Now huge buyers
- 42:40Speaker 1: remorse in that country. The latest polls show the new
- 42:42Speaker 1: prime Minister at the next station could in fact be
- 42:46Speaker 1: Nagel Farage, the Brexit campaign and our leader of the
- 42:49Speaker 1: anti immigration Reform Party, also a host on GB news Now.
- 42:54Speaker 1: That poll showed Labor support preamiting to just twenty six
- 42:58Speaker 1: percent for Ja's new Reform Party, just one point behind
- 43:02Speaker 1: twenty five percent, and the biggest shock the Conservative Party,
- 43:06Speaker 1: the Patty that ruled Britain until the last year, just
- 43:10Speaker 1: third on twenty two percent. Jenerally from London, it's larger.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Fergus colleague a GB News presenter Petrick Christie's Patrick Greg
- 43:19Speaker 1: to see you how big is this? Fair Arg's party
- 43:22Speaker 1: just one point behind support for the Labor government despite
- 43:26Speaker 1: all the attacks he gets from the mainstream media his
- 43:29Speaker 1: Affairciust is an extremist.
- 43:33Speaker 15: Yeah, yeah, exactly. It's almost like people have stopped caring
- 43:35Speaker 15: about that kind of stuff. So great Britain is very
- 43:38Speaker 15: much on the charge with Nigel Ferrara at the moment,
- 43:41Speaker 15: and they are clean hands when it comes to everything
- 43:45Speaker 15: that's been wrong in the country. So the Tories as
- 43:47Speaker 15: a blame arguably for the last fourteen years and Labor
- 43:51Speaker 15: have now since coming to offers, chosen to freeze pensioners,
- 43:54Speaker 15: cripple farmers, raise everyone's taxes. They're going to raise taxes
- 43:58Speaker 15: again and also do all sorts of to like give
- 44:02Speaker 15: away a bit of British sovereign territory to Mauritius, slash
- 44:06Speaker 15: the Chinese and make us pay nine billion quip for
- 44:08Speaker 15: the privilege.
- 44:09Speaker 5: They've been nuts.
- 44:10Speaker 15: So Nigel and his party, obviously having never tasted power,
- 44:15Speaker 15: have got completely clean hands when it comes to this stuff,
- 44:17Speaker 15: and the people do like them. The latest thing that's
- 44:19Speaker 15: really turned in Nigel's favor is that he is banging
- 44:22Speaker 15: in favor of an inquiry into Pakistani rape gangs in
- 44:26Speaker 15: Britain off the back of what Elon Musk was tweeting recently,
- 44:30Speaker 15: and the Labor Party have refused to do that. Where
- 44:33Speaker 15: is Labor traditionally as its strongest in the North of England.
- 44:36Speaker 15: Well that is, unfortunately where a lot of these gangs
- 44:39Speaker 15: were taking place. Therefore Nigel is sweeping up a lot
- 44:42Speaker 15: of votes there, so we could end up with Prime
- 44:45Speaker 15: Minister Farage.
- 44:48Speaker 1: That's extraordinary. I want to just take up on one
- 44:51Speaker 1: of the points you just mentioned briefly. There this deal
- 44:55Speaker 1: with Mauritius. This I find is amazing. I talked about
- 44:59Speaker 1: it earlier with Lord Archer last year. This labor government
- 45:06Speaker 1: is again proving it's not just mad and bad, but dangerous.
- 45:09Speaker 1: I mean, it was about to sign a deal this
- 45:12Speaker 1: week to give away strategic islands, the Chagos Islands in
- 45:16Speaker 1: the Indian Ocean. It's held them for more than two
- 45:18Speaker 1: hundred years. Give away these islands that actually house a
- 45:21Speaker 1: huge American naval base, Diego Garcia, and it was going
- 45:25Speaker 1: to give them to Mauritius, a country two thousand kilometers away.
- 45:29Speaker 1: These islands aren't naturally Mauritian territory, a poor country that's
- 45:33Speaker 1: actually getting closer to China, and just over noted, suddenly
- 45:37Speaker 1: got scared of what Donald Trump might say about such
- 45:39Speaker 1: a crazy deal involving one of its critical naval bases
- 45:44Speaker 1: and China. And it's now going to wait until it's
- 45:46Speaker 1: sworn in and talk to him then about it. This
- 45:49Speaker 1: is a scandal, isn't it.
- 45:53Speaker 15: It's actually insane. We are giving away sovereign's territory that
- 45:57Speaker 15: never belongs to Mauritius. Before back to Mauritius, because our
- 46:01Speaker 15: foreign secretary believes in progressive realism, and he thinks this
- 46:05Speaker 15: is something to do with colonialism, and it's almost like
- 46:08Speaker 15: a reparation to Mauritius. Brits is never even owning the
- 46:10Speaker 15: flipping things and we're paying nine billion quid for the privilege.
- 46:14Speaker 15: On top of that, then it turned out, Andrew as well,
- 46:17Speaker 15: that we were also supposedly about to sign up to
- 46:20Speaker 15: take around sixty Sri Lankan men who happened to have
- 46:25Speaker 15: made their way to the Chagos Islands. Why had they
- 46:28Speaker 15: gone to the Scheios Islands when it turned out, shop
- 46:30Speaker 15: horror that a lot of them were fleeing sex crimes
- 46:32Speaker 15: in their own country and somehow we ended up on
- 46:35Speaker 15: the hope of taking them in Britain as well. It
- 46:37Speaker 15: is literally inconceivably bad this deal. But guess who the
- 46:40Speaker 15: lawyer is for Mauritius Andrew, Well, it's our prime minister's
- 46:44Speaker 15: old friend, and maybe that's all you need to know.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Well, well, well, I mean this just shows Britain's ruling
- 46:53Speaker 1: class Labor Party now is consumed with a shame for
- 46:57Speaker 1: Britain's past, that it's giving islands away just about anyone,
- 47:01Speaker 1: including ones who close SLINKs to China, just to get
- 47:04Speaker 1: rid of this stain on its character. I mean, this
- 47:07Speaker 1: is nuts now, Patrick KR, just quickly, were you touched
- 47:11Speaker 1: by Megan Michael's compassion during the Los Angeles fires? I
- 47:14Speaker 1: mean she and Prince Harry tour of the side hug
- 47:16Speaker 1: people serve some food to people that has gone their
- 47:20Speaker 1: will with some Why would that be?
- 47:25Speaker 15: Well, some people have pointed out that in amongst all
- 47:28Speaker 15: of this devastation, and I'm certainly not making lights of that.
- 47:30Speaker 5: Don't get me wrong. Megan Minchael never misses an opportunity
- 47:33Speaker 5: to make.
- 47:34Speaker 15: It all about her, So she's been out and about
- 47:37Speaker 15: pressing the flash, offering our home up to people as well.
- 47:40Speaker 15: But yes, quite a few people are pointing out that,
- 47:42Speaker 15: you know, the worse and well placed cameras. Right, we
- 47:45Speaker 15: all wait with baited breathdout with Andrew for I think
- 47:47Speaker 15: it's called With Love Megan, which, as far as I
- 47:50Speaker 15: can tell, is a docu series on Netflix about her
- 47:54Speaker 15: probably getting somebody else to cook for her. So yeah,
- 47:57Speaker 15: we look forward to that, don't we think.
- 48:01Speaker 1: I'm all agg I'm all the gog, Patrick Christis, thank
- 48:04Speaker 1: you so much for your time. Book of the Week
- 48:06Speaker 1: is back, one novel I loved on the weekend was
- 48:08Speaker 1: this precipice by Robert Harris. The twist is that all
- 48:12Speaker 1: through it you read real love letters sent by asked
- 48:15Speaker 1: with Britain's Prime minister in World War One to a
- 48:17Speaker 1: young woman who's infatuated with with all sorts of top
- 48:20Speaker 1: secret information. Even location of military forces in France just
- 48:24Speaker 1: shows the craziest people even then could be Prime Minister.
- 48:27Speaker 1: As usual Robinson's bookshop website. Click on my page of
- 48:30Speaker 1: recommendations on the left of the screen. Coming up now,
- 48:33Speaker 1: Sharry markson good Night
