- 1:00Why is it unpredictable? You might get fired from it the first thirty seconds?
- 1:03Who know? And you never know who's gonna host? Yeah exactly,
- 1:07I'm one of your hosts, Dan with me as always, Daniel and Chad
- 1:12grow An awesome beard, very strong beard. We have Scott strong Beard uh
- 1:19Bouder coming up from Triple A. He's he's made it to the show,
- 1:22the show, and that's what they call major League Baseball in in baseball parlance.
- 1:27Yeah, so, uh, welcome back another week another episode of Star
- 1:33Trek, which means another episode of Trek yeah too. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:38we've got a big surprise that he released the crossover episode yeah yesterday, like
- 1:42late yesterday. Yeah yeah, yeah, yep. I got a little too
- 1:47excited when Dan dan Uh texted me. He's like, hey, uh they
- 1:51released that episode early, and I'm like yeah, My wife is looking at
- 1:55me like, what's wrong with you? We had plans now for tonight,
- 2:00Yes, we do. That's exactly what I gotta go put on my Star
- 2:05Trek pajamas. Yeah wait, how'd you know about the Star Trek pajamas and
- 2:14nachs? Like, break out the nach We're gonna watch this show. I'm
- 2:23sitting in the van happy to shuttlecraft. I'm I'm setting up. Yes,
- 2:29thanks for coming, Thanks for being here, appreciate it. So I'm sitting
- 2:32in the shuttlecraft, I'm setting up, and I see these these two ladies
- 2:37walking down the street with their with their clipboards and their pamphlets. So I'm
- 2:40like, all right, these are these are either Jehovah's witness or you know,
- 2:49uh, you know, political something or other. So they come they
- 2:53they cautiously come up the driveway because you know, I'm dressed like I'm I'm
- 2:58flying a helicopter. And I said, this is this is too good.
- 3:01So I turned the I turned the recorder on on my phone. I turned
- 3:05the video recorder on my phone and uh, so they tell me they introduced
- 3:08themselves and uh and they they said, we're just out here spreading the word
- 3:14about you know, uh whatever, the good future or whatever. You know,
- 3:19what do you what do you think about that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 3:23So I don't remember exactly that she had she asked about the future, and
- 3:27I said, oh, I think it's going to lead to a coalition of
- 3:29one hundred and fifty plus uh uh planets, uh, one hundred and fifty
- 3:36species working together in a in a united Federation of planets, spreading good will
- 3:43and prosperity across the galaxy. And the other ladies looking at me like,
- 3:46is this guy out of his mind? Did we say? Do we walk
- 3:50up the wrong driveway? And then I and she says, it sounds like
- 3:53you think about this a lot, And I said, yes, every Sunday
- 3:55at eleven as I host check Cast the Galaxy is most unprettic will Star Trek
- 4:00podcast. So I'm gonna go do that right now. As I roll the
- 4:02window up. Yeah, that's perfect. I recorded that. I'm going to
- 4:08u upload that to the Facebook group after the show. I think I think
- 4:13people will get a kick that. Well, that's what I've been trend two
- 4:16of. Like I've seen it on some other Star Trek Facebook pages where you
- 4:21know, telemarters a call and they'll just be like you know, Darmak and
- 4:26Gelatic tanagraa, They'll just continue out the conversation with either the pot that they're
- 4:30talking to or somebody from way overseas and yeah, his eyes open. That's
- 4:40right. I can't wait for my next telemarketer. Oh you can do um
- 4:48pack lead telemarketing. Oh that's perfect, that's perfect. Yep, yeah,
- 4:54I'll record it. I'll record it, I'll upload it. Ah, it'll
- 5:00the internet, Oh for sure, for sure, dude. I wonder if
- 5:03the Pack lads had a review for the Crossover Later. They will later,
- 5:08they will, they will next week, they will. All right, all
- 5:12right, Well should we get to the news, because there's a lot of
- 5:15news. Sure, I saw that one. That one I saw and I
- 5:23heard Okay, well first one nothing I got nothing but weird, all right,
- 5:28So we have a lot of news. We got a lot going on.
- 5:30The San Diego Comic Con is going on right now. Um. Even
- 5:33though a lot of the studios pulled out, there was one studio who decided
- 5:38to stay and do you a presentation and that was paramount. So we did
- 5:44trick. Yeah. Did they release this episode at at Comic Con? Did
- 5:48they do a screening at Comic Con and then and then that's why they showed
- 5:50it to the rest of us? Correct? Yes, that's exactly what Okay,
- 5:55yea though greatest spoilers and all that. I thought we were special for
- 5:59a minute. No, they just they did the screening and it's my understanding.
- 6:03Right after the screening it was released everybody, Yeah, okay, makes
- 6:06sense. Smart. Yeah, So they did, um a presentation. They
- 6:13talked about the next season of Discovery, Strange Worlds and Lower Decks. They
- 6:17did reiterate that this will be the final season of Discovery. They gave us
- 6:23a little bit about what's going to happen, believe it or not. There's
- 6:26gonna be another mystery and another mystery that's threatening the galaxy with some sort of
- 6:31ancient power whose very existence has been hidden for centuries. So there you go.
- 6:36Yeah, yeah, that's exactly send them off. Yeah, yeah,
- 6:45so there you go. They're gonna be on the hunt for this item or
- 6:47magic box or whatever it is. They put out a five minute clip that
- 6:51had like a some sort of chase scene with Burnham. Yeah, there's no
- 6:57context to it, so but it's interesting. At least I think it should
- 7:00be. It should be the whales from Star Trek four or the alien race
- 7:08that like scent the probe. There you go, There you go, I
- 7:13mean was there? Ob Yeah, might as well. Um so that that
- 7:18there you go. Season five is coming out at some point next year.
- 7:21We don't know yet. They've kind of backed away from a date now because
- 7:25of the straight Um. Also, we did get a release date for season
- 7:30four of Lower DECKX that will be starting up September seventh, so it's coming
- 7:35up. Oh yeah. They also did announce that for the premiere we're gonna
- 7:41get two episodes, and then after that it'll be one episode a week,
- 7:46so there you go. And then they also because they released the episode yesterday,
- 7:53those old Scientists, they have moved up some things on um Strange New
- 7:58Worlds. So yes, this Thursday we will get another episode zero eight under
- 8:03the Cloak of War. Then in Vegas. We will get to see episode
- 8:07nine together, Subspace Rhapsody, so Dan, we'll get to watch the musical
- 8:13episode. Just three guys in a in a hotel room watching musicals. Can
- 8:16you guys record like a reaction video please? I think we're gonna have to.
- 8:20Yeah. Yeah, and then and then August tenth will be the season
- 8:24finale, So there you go. So that's going on on that end.
- 8:30They did also release a trailer for Subspace Rhapsody, which I posted in the
- 8:35group and in the discord. A lot of singing, a lot of dancing.
- 8:41Yeah, I saw it. Yeah, it was horrifying. Yeah.
- 8:46I'm not a musical guy. I mean people are. It's just it's not
- 8:48my bag, man. I gotta well, depends on how they do it.
- 8:56Yeah, Like, are they just going to you say, um,
- 9:03this is an episode of Star Trek that is portrayed in the format of a
- 9:07musical and that's it and never call attention to it. Or is Trelane going
- 9:15to come in and snap his fingers and suddenly they're all stuck in a musical
- 9:18or something. I got the impression it was more of the ladder. I
- 9:22got the impression that something happens to them, Like if you saw the preview
- 9:28for it, it feels like maybe an alien race sort of view their powers
- 9:33of communication, like that's how they communicate, right, So because the Horror
- 9:37said something in the preview about you know, music is in everybody, and
- 9:43you know, and we've seen music in other Star Trek, you know,
- 9:46Voyager in seven to nine, The Doctor, you know, and then things,
- 9:50and they did a didn't they do an episode earlier on in Strange New
- 9:52Worlds where they were they were doing like the Close Encounters thing with the music
- 9:58and or was um equating the music to yeah, yeah, when they were
- 10:03like in that cast or whatever. So as long as they step up to
- 10:07that line without crossing it, I think, you know, it'll be all
- 10:11right. I want to know, are we going to see multiple genres of
- 10:16music? I mean, are we going to see country western spok? Are
- 10:20we going to see gangster rap pike? Are we going to see We're getting
- 10:28that is horrifying, um, but yeah, country western spok. I got
- 10:35the oppression it was gonna be more just all show tunes. But yeah,
- 10:37I mean I want to see death metal uh ma Benga no nice. I
- 10:45want to see ed M nurse travel because you know, you just got glow
- 10:50sticks and just big beats. Also announced a comic on We're gonna get some
- 10:56pretty cool stuff. They're going to do some sort of of um new like
- 11:01just little commercials for Star Trek in the style the original animated series. So
- 11:07we'll have one with Neelix and Riker and Quark and Seru among others. They're
- 11:13going to be voiced by their original actors, which is pretty neat. So
- 11:20coming back Jonathan Brakes, you know, it's great, you know, it's
- 11:24great. Look at Riker's combatge. You see how it's crooked. Yeah,
- 11:30that's because on the old show they were all crooked. You know, whoever
- 11:33whoever animated it in you know, I don't know Taiwan or wherever it was
- 11:39animated. You know, they made the mistake. But you know, animation
- 11:43errors don't always get fixed. They just stay the way. They are so
- 11:46roll with it. It's funny that forty years later they just roll with it.
- 11:50Neelix is as well. M the Neelix badge is crooked as well,
- 11:56and Neelix has some kind of weird tunic and mohawk. Yeah, he's he's
- 12:01looking a little a little different. But yeah, so those will be hidden
- 12:05as well, just a little like promos. So um oh, jas Biz
- 12:11has a comment for Dan, Dan, you're smacking your gun. Yeah,
- 12:16I don't usually shoot gum through the show. I forgot sorry guys, So
- 12:24there you go. Okay. Also, we wanted to give an update on
- 12:26what's going on with STLV and the convention and the strike and everything. The
- 12:31strike is going on, the convention still going on. They're gonna do it
- 12:37regardless. Chad won't be there. He's on strike. He says, that's
- 12:41right, that's right, so he will not be He will not be appearing
- 12:45in the truck cast or doing any public big union support. We have had
- 12:54some cancelations already. Um So, Robert duncan McNeil, Tom Paris or Nicko
- 13:01Locardo will not be there. Kate mulgrew will not be there, and James
- 13:05Darren will not be there. A Ka pali um Vic the hologram will not
- 13:11be there. So those we've already Yeah, I know, I was a
- 13:16president of that. M not gonna lie. Um. We did get that.
- 13:22Some people have announced that they will be there for sure. Nicole dvor
- 13:26ez Rejaks will be there for sure. Um, Garrett Wong will be there
- 13:31for sure. Um, he's they actually just announced some sort of comedy thing
- 13:37that he's going to be doing there. And then Penny Johnson Gerald aka Cassidy
- 13:41Yates or doctor Claire Finn if you're into the Orville. She has said tentatively
- 13:48that she will be there as long as it's cool with the union. But
- 13:52um, so yeah, she's planning to be there so far is it cool
- 13:54with the union? So from what I've read it is, Um, they
- 14:01can go make personal appearances, so they can do photo ops and sign atographs
- 14:05like that's cool to do. Um, But what they can't do is talk
- 14:09about current work if it's if it's under the strike. So if you know
- 14:15anything by Paramount right now, they couldn't talk about what's going on or Fox
- 14:20or Disney or whatever. Um, they can't talk about future projects. But
- 14:24in theory they can talk about past projects. But what's not clear to me
- 14:28is like, you're gonna have people there who they've already done like three seasons
- 14:33of Discovery or Lower Decks or whatever. Can they talk about past seasons because
- 14:39it's still act right, Yeah, that's gonna make the panels interesting. And
- 14:46I have a feeling panels are going to have a big list of rules before
- 14:50they get started. Not only a big list of rules, but probably no
- 14:54questions from the audience maybe not, maybe not. You know, so so
- 14:58we don't know, you know, Creation hasn't been super forthcoming about what's going
- 15:05to happen yet they're very much playing it close to the best, let's say.
- 15:09Yeah, yeah, you know, as is like Kate mulgarh has,
- 15:13like she said earlier this week, I'm not going to be there like Monday
- 15:16or Tuesday. They still have her up on the website. They still you
- 15:20know, she's still listed as a headliner, but they also have her listed
- 15:24is not going to be there, So yeah, so it's definitely one of
- 15:31those things. Also, I don't you know, she hasn't announced as yet.
- 15:35Michelle heard, but I really don't think she will be there. She
- 15:37is one of the Union Vist presidents in LA, so I would suspect she
- 15:41will bow out, But I guess we'll see. I don't know that for
- 15:46sure. And yeah, well I think a lot of Star Trek actors are
- 15:52going to be looking to her for sort of guidance because she's a big deal
- 15:54in the in like the sag. Yeah, yeah, I would imagine so
- 16:02as well, Um, she's gonna be there, but she's gonna be wearing
- 16:07a black and white striped shirt. She's gonna have a whistle. Yeah,
- 16:11you're gonna reference, she's gonna blow the Whistle's gonna throw a flag at Garrett
- 16:17Wong and be like you can't talk about that? Yeah, yeah, I
- 16:22kind of Yeah, I really don't think that she'll be there, but you
- 16:26know, we'll see, I guess. And then um, our last news
- 16:30story comes us from Trek central dot net. Allegedly, some sluice have discovered
- 16:37that potentially we have a filming date for Star Trek Section thirty one. So
- 16:42yeah, they went digging through some it's like a website where that they go
- 16:49and looking for crew and casting all that. And so there is a project
- 16:55coming up called uh was it dover Core, which is the filming name for
- 17:02section thirty one. We know that. So it's supposed to be happening in
- 17:07um October allegedly. Yeah, but that's irrelevant now, right, That's the
- 17:14thing. Yeah, Um, I have a feeling that you're going to hear
- 17:18a lot about like all these projects that should be shooting as to put pressure
- 17:23on the actors to hurry up and get back to work. And yeah,
- 17:26so it's like a tactic. This thing is not going away anytime soon,
- 17:32right, No, the estimates right now are three to six months for the
- 17:36strike, um longer. Did you did you see the video? I think
- 17:41I sent it to you, Daniel Ron Ron Frohman and his reaction. I've
- 17:45seen it. I don't know if you sent it to me, but I
- 17:48have seen it. Yeah, there was. He was responding to a quote
- 17:52from an unnamed executive at one of these big one of these big studios,
- 17:57and the executive basically said, we're gonna we're gonna drag this out as long
- 18:03as we can. Once people start losing their apartments and losing their houses,
- 18:07they'll be more inclined to, uh, to negotiate. Talking about the actors
- 18:12who aren't millionaires or billionaires, right, And you know, Ron Perlman took
- 18:18that, uh pretty hard. And he was basically, if you read between
- 18:22the lines, he was basically saying he was saying, there's more than one
- 18:26way to lose your house. Yeah, he was basically saying, you know,
- 18:32you're a terrible person. And people who say things like that discover their
- 18:37houses burned down in the middle of the night. So, I mean,
- 18:38he was I'll send it to you, Scott, it was it was okay,
- 18:42Yeah, and that's what you brought up a good point about, you
- 18:45know, the actors that aren't millionaires and billionaires. This this whole strike is
- 18:49mostly we're not talking about, you know, the Brad Pitts of the world.
- 18:56Right, Yeah, he's fine. We're talking about um, a lot
- 19:00of the B C list actors or background actors, the crew, the you
- 19:03know, all these people that you know are making these shows possible. That
- 19:07they I mean, they they're their average income is probably what our average income
- 19:11is, yes, yes, or less so right, right, and they're
- 19:15living in Hollywood or Vancouver or wherever they're living where the cost of living is
- 19:22ridiculous. So yeah, these aren't like millionaires whining that they want an extra
- 19:26million. These are you know, regular joes that are working, you know,
- 19:30regular Hollywood jobs, you know. Yeah, so if they if they
- 19:36were smart and and you know, I don't want to strike to continue.
- 19:40I don't want it to go on, but I do agree with a lot
- 19:44of their complaints. Yeah, and I think it would be behoof of them
- 19:48too. You know. Yeah, we're talking about a lot of regular people
- 19:52who would who would uh lose their apartments, lose their houses and whatnot.
- 19:56And the majority of them are not Brad pitt Or or Tom Cruise or someone
- 20:00with hundreds of millions of dollars um. But you know those actors with hundreds
- 20:07of millions of dollars a long time ago, they were in They were in
- 20:12those shoes, they were you know, so really, if people start losing
- 20:18their apartments and losing their houses, those actors who command one hundred million dollars
- 20:25to do a movie, they really need to step up and take care of
- 20:30their union, their union brothers and sisters, the Hollywood. Yeah, I'm
- 20:37just and I'm not saying they're not doing that, but I'm I'm just pointing
- 20:40out that the Hollywood elites, Um, you know, they have no problem
- 20:44going to a Telson and getting on television and telling us that we should donate
- 20:48our money to a good cause. Um, you know, this is their
- 20:53cause, this is their brothers and sistems. They need to step step up
- 20:57and take care of each other well, and then they hopefully more of them
- 21:00that yeah, and then um, sag Afra is allowing if you're an independent
- 21:07film company and you file the correct paperwork with them, they're cool with your
- 21:11production still going. So right now there's like twenty nine different projects still shooting
- 21:17and doing stuff, So people are allowed to still go get paychecks to do
- 21:21that. Um, they're saying that one of the reasons why they can go
- 21:25and do autograph signings and and you know, photo ops and all that is
- 21:30so that they still have a source of income to help them. Another thing
- 21:34that the elites could do. You know, if Brad Pitt where to go
- 21:42act in one of these tiny independent films for nothing, for nothing, Yeah,
- 21:51take a you know, take fifty take a fifty thousand dollars salary to
- 21:55go do this tiny role for this tiny film, for this tiny student video,
- 22:00and then it'll blow up at the box office just because he's in it.
- 22:04And that would send another message to the studios that you know, you're
- 22:08not the only game in town, right if you if you go away,
- 22:14this law will still happen. It will just happen elsewhere. Yeah, it's
- 22:18funny you say that. Um, what's his name? The guy who plays
- 22:22the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, He said that exact same thing two people.
- 22:26Yeah, he came out, made a big announcement. Well he and I
- 22:29are very like I know that. Yeah, when you know, forget it.
- 22:36And you know another thing too with that, with the little studios.
- 22:38You know, a year from now, we're gonna have a plethora of these
- 22:42smaller studio films coming out. So maybe it'll showcase kind of like Piggyback and
- 22:48what you were saying, Daniel. Yeah, it's gonna showcase some of these
- 22:52little, you know, smaller studios, and we'll sure have some great independent
- 22:56films coming out in the theaters. Oh yeah, I mean I want to
- 22:59see if we could see Sharknado thirteen with Tom Hanks. Oh man, it'd
- 23:04be great. Yeah, get all the tim Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise,
- 23:07Tom Holland you go there, you go, yeah, oh my god,
- 23:11they make that movie. They make a movie with those three guys, call
- 23:15it Tom Foolery. They would make a million dollars. There you go,
- 23:19a million dollars, they make a billion dollars, a billion dollars. Yeah,
- 23:22weird, weird little movies. I saw this announcement. So independent film
- 23:27company called A twenty four is currently shooting a film right now because of the
- 23:33strike with Paul Rudd and Jenna Artega. It's called Death of a Unicorn.
- 23:37But a couple that accidentally runs over a unicorn and what are they gonna do
- 23:40with them? Who else could make a movie like that other than Paul Rudd.
- 23:47Yeah, yeah, it just sounds so freaking ridiculous. I can't wait.
- 23:51So yeah, but yeah, that's all the Star Trick news. We
- 23:56should probably that's good because you know, we're halfway into the show and we
- 23:59have two episodes of Stars, so yeah, let's get to the main topic.
- 24:04Fine. Well, so yeah, like Dan said, we have two
- 24:14episodes to go through, so we'll we'll go through the first one and then
- 24:17we'll go through the crossover. Big spoilers everyone if you have not seen either
- 24:22one of these. I know we had some people in the who have not
- 24:26had a chance to see the crossover yet. But the first episode that aired
- 24:32on Thursday, it was season two, episode six Locked in Translation. We
- 24:38do have a log line for that, which is or Horror seems to be
- 24:41the only one who can hear a strange sound. When the noise triggers terrifying
- 24:47hallucinations, she enlists an unlikely assistant to help her track down the source.
- 24:52So yeah, um, this also brought back their return of Bruce Quarter,
- 24:59who they swore up and down when up billing not be playing Hammer. But
- 25:03there we go. There's Hammer, a former Trek cast guest. That's right,
- 25:08that's right for the show Hammer. Would you guys think I loved it?
- 25:19I I really liked when when I heard the rumors that they were bringing
- 25:26that actor back, it kind of made me nervous because that could be done
- 25:30in so many wrong ways. Um, but you know, I don't often
- 25:40I'm not gonna lie, you know, at the end, it sort of
- 25:42brought a tear to my eye. I thought they it was. I thought
- 25:45it was a nice second send off to the character, at least for yeah.
- 25:55Uh. You know, I said in my quick reaction that I'm not
- 25:56a big fan of Mysteries of the Mind for an episode. I think it
- 26:02was a well done episode for what it was. But that's you know,
- 26:07yeah, I'm the same way. I'm not a big fan of that type
- 26:10of that type of genre of episode that you know, Mystery of the Mind,
- 26:15like you said it, But but for that I thought it was not
- 26:18too bad. Yeah, And I'm drawing back kirk It brought back for this
- 26:26this Actually, my wife pointed out I had said it was the first time
- 26:29we'd seen kirk it regular Prime Kirk. I was about to say that.
- 26:34He corrected me and said, no, we saw him in that last episode
- 26:37with lan Um when they were I was gonna say, texting back and forth,
- 26:42but video chatting, right, Dane, what are you gonna say?
- 26:48And No, I like him as Kirk. I know a lot of people
- 26:52don't, They say, Um, you know he's too skinny. He looks
- 26:56like uh, he looks like Jim Carrey. Um. I don't know if
- 27:00they did something different with him this week, but I think he looked less
- 27:07less Jim Carrey. And I think that you know, he he does have
- 27:11a thin build. He's a thin guy. Yeah. I think if he
- 27:17because we know he's going to be back, we know he's going back next
- 27:19season. Um, I think if he spends the off season bulking up a
- 27:26little bit, if he came back with you know, twenty pounds of muscle
- 27:32on him, I think he'd I think he'd looked fantastic. Yeah, and
- 27:36I think that I think I think that would shut a lot of people up
- 27:40because he is a good actor. And I do like the way he plays
- 27:44the character. And it's not he's not playing William Shatner. He's playing young
- 27:48James Kirk. True and and I'm cool. I'm cool with that. Um.
- 27:52I like him. I like the dynamic between him and his uh,
- 27:57him and his brother. Sam's kind of a jealous Uh yeah, it's the
- 28:03jealous brother. And I think I think we're gonna I think they're showing us
- 28:07why Sam is not on the Enterprise and ts I think I think that's gonna
- 28:12be you know, uh Kirk takes command and Sam immediately requests the transfer.
- 28:18I don't think he wants to be I don't think he wants to serve under
- 28:23his h under his brother. Yeah. I guess they would even allow that.
- 28:27I don't know. Yeah. Um, I did see the you know
- 28:33I stuff for the people, So I watched two episodes of The Will Wheaton
- 28:36Show because there was another one are you Are you okayry later? I will
- 28:42definitely try later. I actually watched the for this episode, did okay?
- 28:48Yeah? Yeah? So yeah, they interviewed her uh Celia or Aura,
- 28:55and she did talk about how she was a major Vampire Diaries fan. Well,
- 29:00he was part of so she was so stoked to be working with him.
- 29:03That's gonna make things awkward the next time they worked together. Yeah.
- 29:07Yeah. He didn't mention that in the interview too, that she didn't say
- 29:11that in person, but that he would be seen that on her interview.
- 29:15So, well, you know everybody watches TV. Yeah, everybody goes to
- 29:18the movies. Even if you're in the movies, you go to the movies.
- 29:22Even if you're on TV, you watch TV. So yeah, you
- 29:26know. I also liked in that episode where Kurt comes up to the bar
- 29:30and immediately a horror was like, I'm not in the mood to be hit
- 29:32on. I thought that was kind of a callback to um the jj abras
- 29:37O nine trek, like this is not I think it was. I think
- 29:41it was the producer's way of saying, this is not the direction we're gonna
- 29:45take this. Yeah in case, Yeah, so, and it wasn't clear
- 29:48to me that if their dad was currently still alive, but he for sure
- 29:53didn't die with neuro you know, no, no, he's still alive.
- 29:59Okay, No, And I need to do some more research, Like I
- 30:02said, I started watching the original series and a couple of months ago and
- 30:07so far, I'm halfway through the cage. Yeah, so it's which is
- 30:15a very very very first episode, right right, so it's taken me two
- 30:18months to get halfway through that hour long episode. Yeah, it's definitely so
- 30:26yeah, yeah, let's see. Uh. Jay says this show is doing
- 30:33a such a better job compared to Discovery when it comes to flushing out the
- 30:37entire crew. Yeah, yeah, I would agree. Is it a completely
- 30:42different writing staff? Do we know any of the writers? Are they Trek
- 30:47people? Are they Discovery people? So from it's from my understanding, it's
- 30:53each show has like their their core group of writers, right, so their
- 30:57own well it's a lot of the same producers, yeah, who kind of
- 31:03dictate to the writers on what to do. So which that was the same
- 31:11the same setup during during tng DS nine. Yeah, yeah, like we
- 31:18know for sure that if the if the Star Trek Academy Show actually happens,
- 31:22tany k Newsom is one of the writers on that, so well she's got
- 31:29some good comedy chops. So yeah, you know, and I don't mean
- 31:33to, you know, I'm trying not to bash on Discovery, but it
- 31:36seems like Strange New Worlds just has better writers, dialogue better if it's better
- 31:44writers, as much as a different edict on how to do the show.
- 31:48Yeah, right, because like I'm pretty confident that those other writers could do
- 31:55well if told what to do, right. You you write to what you're
- 31:59supposed to do, right, It's like any other job. You do just
- 32:02enough not to get yelled at me. Yeah, absolutely, you know.
- 32:07I think everybody does that, so so so that's that's what the Discovery writers
- 32:13do. They go into a room and they start writing. Then like,
- 32:15Okay, as long as he doesn't yell at me, I'm gonna be okay,
- 32:19that's right, that's right. So yeah, but um, so you
- 32:23guys like the episode overall, then yeah, I'll give it a six and
- 32:28a half out of ten. Okay, all right. I only watched it
- 32:32once. I usually I usually watch it when it comes out, and then
- 32:37I rewatch it Saturday night or Sunday morning in preparation for the show. And
- 32:44then Saturday night I found out that there was a second episode to watch,
- 32:50right right, Instead of watching this one again, I watched I watched the
- 32:52new one, and I wasn't gonna I wasn't gonna start over and rewatched last
- 32:57week's episode and then rewatch this week's up. So I only watched each of
- 33:00them. I only watched him once. Yeah that's fair. Yeah, so
- 33:05that was so last week. I mean right, talk about him. It
- 33:07was so last Oh yeah, so we should probably get to the crossover.
- 33:13Bronton's already saying, yeah, yeah, go ahead, all right. So,
- 33:21like we said, the crossover, the big crossover with lower decks and
- 33:23Strange and worlds was released, uh late yesterday, Season two, episode seven,
- 33:30those old Scientists. We do not have a log line because apparently they
- 33:35just released it and did not update the log line. Uh released, So
- 33:39there we go. Um, but we finally got to see Boimler and Mariner
- 33:45in live action. That was a ton of fun. Uh there's gonna be
- 33:50a ton of spoilers, guys, So if you have not watched this episode,
- 33:52you know, yeah, just hang up and go watch it exactly.
- 33:57It was a ton of fun. I love this episode so much. Probably
- 34:01my tird episode of the season so far. No, for sure. Oh
- 34:06yeah, says I was it's going I was gonna read there it is.
- 34:12Tie Jay says I was weird with the crossover episode, but I think they
- 34:15hit it out of the park. I agree. Uh. Bronson says it
- 34:19was a grand slam. I agree as well. What a what a cool
- 34:23fun U episode. I remember a year a year ago when they announced this,
- 34:30It's like, how the hell are they gonna do this? Well,
- 34:35like this, that's how they're gonna do it, just just like this.
- 34:38It was done just right too. Yeah, they went right up to the
- 34:43line just and they didn't they didn't cross it. You know. There's a
- 34:46couple of moments where I was like, wait a minute, okay, yeah,
- 34:52I think Um, I can't remember the guy's name who who voices Boibler.
- 34:59I think he Jack Quade, looks just enough like Boimler to pull it
- 35:04off. Twenty Tony Newsome looks. She looks like Mariner. It's like they
- 35:07drew Mariner based on on her. Yeah, and I think it was a
- 35:13smart move of them that we're going to have two characters cross over and that's
- 35:17it. We'll show We'll show the other characters in animation for him, but
- 35:22not but not in live action. I know that Rutherford looks nothing like the
- 35:28guy who voices Rutherford looks nothing like the character of Rutherford. Um. I
- 35:32don't know about Tendy but yeah, so I think it was good. I
- 35:40had a lot of good. I think it was yeah good. I think
- 35:45it was cool. I know, I just I think it was cool seeing
- 35:47you know, it was mostly Boimler that we got. Yeah, it was
- 35:51more Boimler than Mariner, but did a fantastic job. Um yeah, just
- 35:58seeing him geek out on all the U you know, all of the classic
- 36:04star Trek stuff or from his point of view, all the classic star Fleet
- 36:07stuff around him. Um and and and how he just he just could not
- 36:15obey the temporal prime directive no matter how hard he tried, he just kept
- 36:20slipping up. And you know how powerful of a scene was it when when
- 36:24Pike's like, I know, I know what happens to me. Yeah,
- 36:30yeah, you know yeah? And then and then they know because they know
- 36:34what happens to him, right, so you you see it in their faces
- 36:38that you know, we know what a terrible existence he has coming for him.
- 36:44Yeah, and he and he knows, and he's and he's still acting
- 36:47like this. He's still this has this type of confidence and confidence as a
- 36:53as a captain. Yeah. Yeah, mar Martinez just said Riker, Um,
- 36:59I didn't see this in the show. I must have missed it,
- 37:01but I was looking at IMDb and it says that Boiler says Riker, Oh
- 37:07well what right? Right? When he goes to sit down. He might
- 37:12have been the saddle oaker. What's funny? Is so? In the Will
- 37:17Wheaton Show they interviewed Jack Quaide and he said that that was an improvised line.
- 37:24Oh and apparently because Jonathan Franks directed this episode, Jonathan Franks said his
- 37:32wife was there when Boiler when Jack Quade said Riker, and apparently both of
- 37:37them just lost it laughing. Yeah, yeah, I love it. The
- 37:47the other thing that that Jack Quaid kind of brought up that I thought was
- 37:51funny is you know, in in lower decks, um, the characters are
- 37:55pretty short, right, so canonically Sharks and Ransom must be like eight feets
- 38:01all then because an animation to them, right yeah? Um. We also
- 38:08did find out according to the Will Wheaton Show and all the interviews, Tony
- 38:13Newsome was brought on as a writer to start Trick Academy because of how much
- 38:19ad libbing she did and how many references she gave. They figured, wow,
- 38:22if she can do all this, she must know a lot and understands
- 38:27writing and from there. Yeah, she's a major treky so good good.
- 38:34Did you notice the opening sequence was animated? Yeah, yes, I was
- 38:38gonna bring that up. Yeah, and it took me a second. I
- 38:40mean the animation was good. It took me like as soon as it started.
- 38:44I kind of had to squint and look is that yeah, that's animated?
- 38:47Yeah, and I like how the closing uh you know, the closing
- 38:53segment was animated. Back back on the Enterprise. It was animated, and
- 38:58they didn't call any attention to it. They didn't give any reason. It's
- 39:01just this is this is the lens that this segment is shot through. That's
- 39:07all. Well, they did give it a reason. It was that they
- 39:12got the the actual type of alcohol they needed for those Andorian drinks and it
- 39:16was messing with their heads and so that's why they were seeing everything animated style.
- 39:22Yeah, all right, I guess yeah, they all look decent animated,
- 39:24and yeah. It kind of makes me wonder if they're gonna they're gonna
- 39:29have to reference this episode in Lower Decks. I mean, Boimler is going
- 39:34to have to talk about it, right. So in the trailer that we
- 39:37had for Lower Decks, you very quickly hear Mariners say something to the effective
- 39:43Yeah, we can't talk about that pike thing. Yep. Oh okay,
- 39:46yeah, I didn't see that. That's great, So that might be all
- 39:50of it, honestly. And oh and also in the the opening sequence when
- 39:54the Enterprise was going by, you saw that space aliens. Yeah, thing
- 40:00on the cell like you see on the Cerritos for that that opening sequence.
- 40:05Yeah, yeah, of course, I'm sitting there and I'm pointing out like
- 40:07an idiot. I'm like, oh, like, it's the thing with the
- 40:08things, and there was maybe I must have missed the reference because I don't
- 40:17I don't get it. But at the very end of that title sequence you
- 40:22could see the outline of a koala in space. Yes, do we know
- 40:28what that's a callback to? That's from lower decks. They mentioned something about
- 40:31the whole the whole world or universe is run by a space koala, like
- 40:37it's a quick reference. And so ever since then they throw in the Koalare's
- 40:42there any chance they get gotcha? Gotcha? Awesome? Um. This episode
- 40:47also was rated nine point six stars on IMDb, which so far is the
- 40:54highest rated episode of Stranger Worlds. Nice. So yeah, I would expect
- 41:04that rating to go up honestly as more people watch it. Yeah. I
- 41:06think the next highest rating was the season finale last season, which was nine
- 41:10point one. Yeah. Yeah, this was a they hit it out in
- 41:15the park man. This thing was great absolutely. Yeah. Oh. Ronson
- 41:22also agrees with the high rating. Yeah, um, it was neat to
- 41:27see. Like at one point Boiler Mariner when they're on the chyle Craft and
- 41:30they're kind of talking to each other and they mentioned how everybody talks slower and
- 41:35whispers past they talk and how loud they are. Nice. Yeah, I
- 41:42thought that was great. Um. I like the little in jokes like when
- 41:52uh, when Una is showing Pike his uh Boilers combatch and she says,
- 41:58you know, it's a it's a badge, but it's also a communicator.
- 42:00You just you just touch it and you hear the communicator sound, and he
- 42:04says, but flipping it open it's the best part, right yeah. Yeah,
- 42:09And it's it's kind of it's kind of a meta call back to um.
- 42:17You know, cell phones when you're when you're angry, Yeah, you
- 42:21can't. You can't end a call angrily on a cell phone. You used
- 42:24to be able to take on a landline, you slam the receiver down,
- 42:29slam it. Yeah, you can't do that on a you know, you're
- 42:31like, I'm gonna hit this red button as hard as I can on the
- 42:36screen, and then you'll know that I mean business. I mean, you
- 42:38can always throw your phone across the room, but you know that you can't.
- 42:43So with the with the flip phones, are you saying you can just
- 42:45go you know, damn it? Jim? Yeah, exactly, yes,
- 42:51exactly. I did like that. They made a lot of fun of creepy
- 42:54Spot with his lapping and his smiles. So this is a temporal This is
- 43:01a temporal causality loop that we witness here because Boimler is the reason that Spok
- 43:07does not continue um down this path of experimenting with this type of human emotion.
- 43:15Yeah, and we know that he was never supposed to so yeah,
- 43:19Boiler was supposed to come back and do this. So we I was totally
- 43:25unprepared for how hot young Spot is. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 43:35but you're right, yes Boiler is the is. Yeah yeah, So basically,
- 43:40we we owe vulcan romulan reunification to Brad Boiler. Yeah right, that's
- 43:51his first name, Brad yeah. Yeah, yeah, so good for you,
- 43:57Brad. Thanks Brad for a piece to the galaxy. Sort of appreciate
- 44:00you. I did enjoy when Boiler and Spocker are doing their science experiments.
- 44:06Yes, yes, looking like breaking bad. Oh yeah, seat cover.
- 44:13Yeah, they both jump under the table. The whole thing explodes. Twenty
- 44:17Newsome is gorgeous, Yes she is, agreed. Oh yeah. Ortegas and
- 44:23Jawl giving Future Boy hard time at the bar. That was a great little
- 44:28scene. Yeah that was pretty great. You start throwing up, you know,
- 44:32the more time that passes. I feel like Ortegas is the character.
- 44:39She's not my favorite character, but I feel like she's the character who I
- 44:44would want to hang out with if I was also stationed on the Enterprise.
- 44:49Yep, yeah yeah. So I hope we get some more of her.
- 44:52I have a feeling we're going to get more backstory on her. Boiler called
- 44:57her the war hero. Yes, yeah, well she was in the Klingon
- 45:01War. They have mentioned that a couple of times. So so I'm looking
- 45:06forward to, you know, a flashback scene sometime. I think we'll get
- 45:12something along those lines. Um. There was a preview for next week's episode.
- 45:15This Thursday's episode, and or Chagas talks a little bit about the war.
- 45:21So, well, we're not gonna are we gonna have an episode this
- 45:22coming Thursday? Yep, yeah that's what I said earlier news. Yeah.
- 45:27Yeah, I wasn't paying attention because I wasn't here as a listener. It
- 45:30was so sad, so sad. Yeah, we're gonna get another episode this
- 45:37Thursday, and then we'll get the musical episode when we're in Vegas, me
- 45:42and the guys watching musicals. Yeah. I thought the musical episode was the
- 45:49next one. Nope, there's there's another one in between. Dan, you
- 45:52have to pay attention during the news. Yeah, I know, I'm the
- 45:54worst, Yeah, the worst. There's yeah, no, there's a different
- 45:59one in between. So, um, according to the preview, there's something
- 46:02to do with a Klingon peace ambassador visiting the Enterprise. So what's that exactly?
- 46:12Yeah, so that's part of what what goes on in the trailer or
- 46:16the preview is that they don't trust them. So yeah, okay, that
- 46:22should be interesting. Yeah. Well that's just as strange as an Orion scientist,
- 46:27I guess. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That
- 46:31was considered offensive to assume that Orion is a pirate. I did like that.
- 46:39I thought that was hilarious. Yeah. Yeah, Well on Pike's reaction
- 46:44is like, well they're they're all quite are Yeah. We got a few,
- 46:51uh, we got quite a few Enterprise references. Yeah. Yeah.
- 46:57So one they talk they mentioned Archer, that mentioned Mayweather. Yep, yep
- 47:05ho she. I thought it was an interesting idea that they brought up about.
- 47:10Um, I've never heard this before, that each each ship of the
- 47:16same name has a piece of the previous ship. Yeah. So I had
- 47:21done some research on this actually before this episode aired, and specifically it is
- 47:25a naval tradition, so that the new Enterprise it's coming out CVN eight seventy
- 47:32or eighty whatever it is, is going to have a piece of the some
- 47:36part of the old CVN sixty nine, which was the Enterprise, um,
- 47:42the aircraft carrier. So yeah, that actually is a naval tradition. Would
- 47:46that not be like the theseus where every time you replace one piece, does
- 47:51it eventually become a different ship? Oh right, right? Yeah that old
- 47:54um? Yeah, yeah, according division, when when it's right, when
- 48:00does it become a whole new ship entirely? Yeah? I thought when they
- 48:05when they brought up the the NXO one. I thought they were going to
- 48:07mention something along the lines of remember in like the Zindi episodes, they had
- 48:12to put something in the hall so they wouldn't experience all the weird wonky stuff.
- 48:15Yes, I thought they were going to say, like that substance could
- 48:20be converted into what they needed, and so they needed to go get that
- 48:23substance, right, I yep. I think they missed an opportunity to reference
- 48:31the beginning of the Fleet Museum. You know, I was thinking big was
- 48:37it was a big plot point in Picard. Yeah, and for them to
- 48:43you know, all right, well we need you know, we need to
- 48:45find an old nx Well, you know, the NXO one is docked at
- 48:51the future side of the Fleet Museum and then you know, go go there.
- 48:57I thought we were gone a piece of it. Yeah, for sure,
- 49:00we're going to see the old n next on one. I'm surprised that
- 49:01we've been talking about uh Enterprise at references for five minutes and Dan still hasn't
- 49:08saying faith of the Heart. It's been a long road. Alert nerd alert,
- 49:25Well, we should probably get two feedback. We've already got Jasmins waiting
- 49:30so I can get that. Hey, let me let me pop in some
- 49:40more dumb on the line. Yes, since he's here, jazz business on
- 49:45the line. Okay, black hat, what's up? Did you ask what
- 49:53flavor was? Yeah? What flavor? Gum Dan, It's eclipse. It's
- 50:00a minty eclipse. I want to have fresh breath for the podcast. Not
- 50:06that you guys. That's nice. Oh bad? So what did you think
- 50:22of the episode jazz Biz? Well, the first one, I thought it
- 50:27was like a Troy episode. I was bored. I want to bring your
- 50:30mic a little bit closer. Am I too far away? There we go?
- 50:34Yeah, okay, that's better. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 50:36thought it was like a Troy episode. I thought it was kind of kind
- 50:38of slow, and then you know the mystery, and I don't know,
- 50:44it's like Pike. Pike has acted like Pipe until the crossover episode, until
- 50:51this last episode because he's kind of been out of the season, and you
- 50:54know, when you let her fired Torpedoes, I was like, what do
- 50:59you do that? Where's the chain of command here? It's like, usually
- 51:06you don't do that. So yeah, yeah, that was a little weird.
- 51:13Yeah. I feel like they feel like they missed. They missed a
- 51:16line there somewhere your pike woultell tactical, uh, stand by to fire on
- 51:23a horse command and then she does that. But for her to just if
- 51:29you know, if I was the guy who presses the torpedo button and she
- 51:31says, fired torpedoes, you would have got this is this is this cool?
- 51:40And then you know, he nods and okay, now I'll fire the
- 51:45right right right. You know, she was a cadet like last week,
- 51:47I'm not firing torpedoes on her saying exactly. Yeah. It was weird to
- 51:52me that they just blindly fired too, without confirming that there was something out
- 51:57there, Like I know they couldn't see them or tech them, but like
- 52:00somehow come up with some sort of way for them to at least confirm they're
- 52:04there. Also, did that apparatus have to be destroyed? Yeah, I
- 52:09mean it's space. It could you. I mean, I know it was
- 52:13big, but I think I saw something online where somebody suggested you had two
- 52:16ships out there that could have like hold the thing, we've got tractor beams.
- 52:22M yeah, absolutely they could have done it. Was they needed a
- 52:25big explosion, you know, they didn't need a big construction worker was just
- 52:30looking at that night. What oh yeah, if I had been part of
- 52:35the crew that built that, I would have cried. Yeah, like that's
- 52:39not fair. That was compared to a Constitution class starship. I mean it
- 52:46was. It was way larger than those ships. They didn't want to be
- 52:51there anyway. He figured, you know, if we tow it, if
- 52:54we tow it out of the Nebula, then we're gonna spend the next three
- 52:58weeks tone it to the next to destroy it. We don't have to bother
- 53:05next somebody else is a problem. Yeah, next week we can go explore
- 53:08a strange new world. Right, we'll just call star Base one. It
- 53:12could be their problem about well, they couldn't turn it off, as as
- 53:15Jennifer is mentioning, which is true. Somehow they broke the remote to turn
- 53:20it off. Yeah, and then we find out that Carol Kane is a
- 53:24space hippie because she has crumbs on her uniform. That's right, that's right,
- 53:32she really has. Her room is just floaded with cats, and we
- 53:36don't know. Do you think she smells like the truly oil like the one
- 53:42hand, the weight of course, Yeah, a lot of incense in that
- 53:45in that room. Ye black light posters, yes, yes, instance just
- 53:51all burning all over the place. She's really in a dam Matthews band.
- 53:55Yeah, it's funny. And then the crossover with Boinler was that was great.
- 54:06Yeah, it's like that was a lot of fun. I was wondering
- 54:09how they were going to do this. Are they gonna, well, what
- 54:14was going to be the mcguffin contraption to get him to crossover to our world?
- 54:19So and just the way they did it worked. It was stupid and
- 54:23it was fun. So yeah, I do like that they they made it
- 54:30just a simple thing. So it was just a veiled setup to just make
- 54:34this crossover happen. That's all you needed. What was that device again?
- 54:38That was that that Guardians on the Edge of Forever, uh stargate thing that
- 54:44they went through. It was an ancient Naustican time travel travel Okay, yeah,
- 54:49because it also reminded me of the portal that they used in the Next
- 54:53Gen and once in Deephase nine. Yeah, I mean I think that's what
- 54:59it was for. It is just some vague thing we've kind of seen before.
- 55:04Because they mentioned star Bass Earhart and that's the that's the Star Bass that
- 55:12the card was stabbed. Oh that's right, Okay, that makes sense.
- 55:17That deserves a nerd alert. Yeah. I was trying to look up warning
- 55:23nerd alert. Nerd alert. That's Parson Tom Joe human play. They like
- 55:37read the game. It translates to this is a time for bowl. Yes.
- 55:45Yeah. Then when we find out Captain Pike has a birthday holiday,
- 55:50yeah, and it's a national holiday. That's a national holiday. Yeah,
- 55:53and that's awesome. He's a big deal. He's got a national holiday.
- 55:58They named a an award after him. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's
- 56:04no Captain Picard Day. But see that. You know, what does Kirk
- 56:09get? Like a bridge to drop on his ass? Kirk is like a
- 56:15legend man. It was like, how do you kill off one of the
- 56:20greatest captains? You drop a bridge on him? Captain on the bridge?
- 56:24Indeed? Oh yeah, Now, Boiler, what they should have had Boiler
- 56:34do when he got on the turbo lift. He grabbed the handle and he's
- 56:37just looking at everybody like, why aren't you grabbing the handle? Yeah,
- 56:43And that would have worked because it's been like everybody's like, what are you
- 56:45doing grabbing the handle? That's right, that's supposed to yeah, yeah,
- 56:58those old signists. Yeah, yeah, which is what they said before on
- 57:00lower decks, right yeah, right. Um. In the Will Wheaton interview,
- 57:06UM Jonathan Franks did say that they did consult with Mike Mahan a little
- 57:09bit about the characters and all that. So clearly they had to I mean,
- 57:14they had to get the animated parts. So yeah, it was a
- 57:19good collaboration. Yeah. And then Tony Newsom said in the interview that they
- 57:24weren't like told that they were allowed to add lib. They just started doing
- 57:28it because they figured they've got plenty of time to edit their show, so
- 57:32it's on them to keep or take what they want. So yeah, yeah,
- 57:37and like just which makes the drinks and everything Ryan Hurricane or whatever it's
- 57:46called. Yeah, and then then at the end they're animated, they're like,
- 57:52what is this stuff? Which I guarantee you some bars somewhere at STLV
- 58:00Hurricanes? Yeah, oh absolutely they should. Yeah. Yeah. At the
- 58:04end during that scene, they're like, why does everybody look so two dimensional?
- 58:08Yeah? And Benga like and there your eyes are so big? What
- 58:15are in these strengths? Did you make us swear? Like they bleaped it
- 58:19out? I think so it was like at the very end, it was
- 58:22great. Yeah, it's hilarious, like you just started. I gotta watch
- 58:27that episode again. I only watched it once as well, but yeah,
- 58:30that's all I had time. I don't know, did they ever explain how
- 58:34he was in the future, or like how they knew he was from the
- 58:37future, because all the time he just pops right on through and they knew
- 58:40it. I think with the comb badge, I think they figured, Okay,
- 58:44this is future tech, this is more advanced than what we have.
- 58:47Yeah, because that's what sounded like to me. Well, it's like that
- 58:52one episode of T and G where the time traveler comes and he's really a
- 58:57grifter the whole time, right, oh yeah, because he's like he knows
- 59:02everything and he's kind of lying through the teeth. You know, you realized
- 59:07he just sold from another time traveler. Yeah. I can't think of his
- 59:10name. He was the neighbor and honey, I shrunk the kids, I
- 59:13know. I was like I could pinpoint him because wasn't he a max headro
- 59:17him or whatever? Yep, that too. I just gave a reference on
- 59:23almost nobody knows the kids. It was great, Okay, maybe yeah,
- 59:30yeah, they need to remake that It's time rebooted Josh Gad and then they
- 59:35scrapped it. Oh yeah, is that what happened? They did scrap it
- 59:38because I think I heard the same thing. They're gonna be announcing so many
- 59:42projects and then scrapping them because of the strike. Yeah, just just to
- 59:47do it and piss people off, especially if these up and coming shows.
- 59:52We don't know if we're gonna get Starfleet Academy or the Georgio Show. Yeah,
- 59:59Section three one. Yeah, well that's only what a one off?
- 1:00:02That's like a small movie, right, Yeah. Matt Fuer Yeah, that's
- 1:00:08his name, Matt Fewer. Okay, yeah, somebody in the chat just
- 1:00:14Matt put it in there, Bronson dud. They gotta put him back in
- 1:00:17his right spot. Thank you. Yes, it's like standby. Yeah all
- 1:00:24right, said the youngest one of Pearls here. So yeah, he has
- 1:00:29be anything else you want to bring up. I was just you know,
- 1:00:31that was probably my favorite episode of the season so far. I enjoyed it
- 1:00:37because it's like I was kind of down on the episode before. I was
- 1:00:40like, man, I didn't really like this episode, but this one I
- 1:00:45stayed episode am I watching it twice. Oh wow, because I saw you
- 1:00:50on your yeah, and I was like, are you guys gonna be talking
- 1:00:54about it? And You're like yes, Like oh damn, well, I
- 1:01:00got homework to do. Okay, Yeah, I got homework to do.
- 1:01:02I gotta stay up like tonight. So yeah, yeah, Dan, hadn't
- 1:01:06it texted me? I don't know that I would have known it was gonna
- 1:01:08be on. Yeah. Yeah, I put it in the group, but
- 1:01:13you know, like literally I saw that it was happening as I was getting
- 1:01:16ready to leave for the night, and I'm like, oh, I have
- 1:01:20to come in early so I can come back and watch this thing, right,
- 1:01:22Yeah, I think the stinks that kind of shortens the season now now
- 1:01:27we were what nine weeks instead of Yeah, but Loodeck starts back up September
- 1:01:31seventh, so like, yeah, but we're gonna go in a long after
- 1:01:35this. We're gonna go in a long drought because of this. Yeah,
- 1:01:38because yeah, you know, I Discovery is probably shot, like completely shot
- 1:01:45and completely like all the voice over working that needs to be done, I'm
- 1:01:49sure that's all done. It's just editing, so that's probably still being worked
- 1:01:52done. I haven't felt like going to push that back because they can,
- 1:01:57because yeah, I have a feeling that's gonna happen to um that you didn't
- 1:02:01you know, Daniel, you may not have picked up on it, but
- 1:02:05some of us aren't too excited about Discovery, that's right, That's right.
- 1:02:08So it's still a drought. It's still a drought in what the funny thing
- 1:02:15is, it's going to be such a drought that we're going to be excited
- 1:02:17to see Discovery. Probably it might be banking on that, yes, yeah,
- 1:02:22because and honestly we're gonna watch it. It would be good for them
- 1:02:30to bring back Parrodigy because they've got that season two completely done just about you
- 1:02:36know, it would fill in that, yeah, but they seem pretty set
- 1:02:39on selling it to somebody else to make money because they gotta pick up subscribers
- 1:02:44if like the only thing they got had is reality shows right now or foreign
- 1:02:47pick up go to Korea and pick up foreign shows like Korea and Japan.
- 1:02:53Well, what's funny is so because of Comic Con, uh, Paramount released
- 1:02:59a promo video about Star Trek and the Home of Star Trek. And that
- 1:03:04promo video, like the comments section, it's just filled with no you're not
- 1:03:08liars and yeah I was reading that too. Yeah, it's pretty funny.
- 1:03:16Um yeah, would you call it a road to the next series? Yeah,
- 1:03:23Jnifer. Yeah. So now I'm curious, Jennifer, is is that
- 1:03:29one of those shared accounts? Are you John and your wife is Jennifer?
- 1:03:31Or is uh? Is Jennifer real name? Nifer? What was it?
- 1:03:37No, I'm looking at the person who commented their names. Yeah, I
- 1:03:42don't know if that's a combination of John and Jennifer. Yeah, looks like
- 1:03:46yeah, or is it just John having some fun with his name? What's
- 1:03:52the backstory Jennifer? Give it wasn't that bors like girlfriend? Like? What
- 1:03:55was it like a mixed name like that or something? I'm one the season
- 1:04:00he's from Canada. You don't know her? Yeah? Right now, Boiler
- 1:04:03got knocked out when he went through the portal and he woked up, woke
- 1:04:06up, and he's in a different room with underwear on, and he sees
- 1:04:11Leah Thompson and that's really his mom from back in the future, his grandma.
- 1:04:15That would have been great. Yes, to split it up John and
- 1:04:21Jennifer, John, Jennifer, Okay, John again, somebody's whipped Yeah,
- 1:04:31who blooded blow. Meanwhile, his name is Jazz and he's married to a
- 1:04:39guy named Biz. He means business. Right. Oh man, I'm glad
- 1:04:56we get to pick our own name. Oh that's it. That's it.
- 1:04:59Thanks jas Vis. I've had this stamp since but since YouTube started, so

- 1:05:29sure Chad. Yeah, all right, that's all the feedback. We answered
- 1:05:35the questions we had, which was why didn't they just tell it or shut
- 1:05:40it off for that machine? But um, yeah, well thanks everybody for
