Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to episode number 12 of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: Ruffling the Feathers podcast, the best NFL podcast out there
- 0:09Speaker 1: in the podcast land. I know I'm saying podcast a lot,
- 0:12Speaker 1: but you know what? It's a lot of fun when
- 0:14Speaker 1: you're talking about the NFL, when you're talking about recast,
- 0:17Speaker 1: when you're talking about football, you're talking with people, you
- 0:20Speaker 1: got dogs all around you because we all love dogs.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I know my co-hosts love dogs. They may like cats
- 0:25Speaker 1: even more. I know one of them was close to
- 0:28Speaker 1: a team that's based off a cat the other one
- 0:30Speaker 1: lives close to a team that basing themselves on a
- 0:33Speaker 1: ram and that's both a metaphorical and a figure of
- 0:37Speaker 1: speech because who really cares about the los angeles rams
- 0:40Speaker 1: they're so bad that the uh team released their kicker
- 0:44Speaker 1: earlier today because he decides to be absolutely horrible when.
- 0:48Speaker 2: It's right there criminal scum what.
- 0:52Speaker 1: That's time in the round oh wait what i ran
- 0:56Speaker 1: out of time.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Did you know what you were doing? Like, that was
- 1:01Speaker 2: 40 seconds too long.
- 1:02Speaker 1: That was 40 seconds too long.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Oh, my.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I ran out of time. If I only had more time.
- 1:10Speaker 3: If I only had better clock management.
- 1:13Speaker 1: If I only had better clock management. But, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:19Speaker 1: joining me as always on the Ruffling the Feathers podcast
- 1:22Speaker 1: are my two co-hosts, Supernova and Brandon. Gentlemen, thank you
- 1:26Speaker 1: for watching the time and... Gee, I'm very good at
- 1:29Speaker 1: keeping it, aren't I?
- 1:32Speaker 3: Makes one of them.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes one of us. But I appreciate you
- 1:39Speaker 1: guys keeping an eye on the time so that way
- 1:42Speaker 1: you can celebrate when I fail at recognizing I don't
- 1:45Speaker 1: have time and I don't have a way to stop
- 1:47Speaker 1: the time.
- 1:49Speaker 2: If only it were that simple.
- 1:52Speaker 3: It is, though. That's the thing. You know some of
- 1:55Speaker 3: these people get paid to actually do that.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I mean, there's this revolutionary item. It's called a timeout.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You ever heard of it before, Brandon?
- 2:06Speaker 3: I've heard of these things before.
- 2:08Speaker 1: There's another one, Nova. It's called spiking the ball. You
- 2:14Speaker 1: ever heard of that before?
- 2:16Speaker 2: No, I haven't.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I mean... I mean, Nova said he's a gunslinger. Nova
- 2:22Speaker 1: said he's a gunslinger. The real question, though, Brandon, and
- 2:26Speaker 1: I think we're going to be asking this every time. Nova,
- 2:28Speaker 1: what's your Spongebob intake for today?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Ah, no.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Ah, perfect.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, again, we will get Nova to watch
- 2:39Speaker 1: Spongebob and he will enjoy the laughter and the dark
- 2:44Speaker 1: humor and the adult jokes of the early seasons because, again,
- 2:48Speaker 1: it's 2026. The Newer stuff sucks.
- 2:53Speaker 3: We at least got to get him to watch the
- 2:54Speaker 3: bubble bowl.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:56Speaker 2: What's that?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I bet you have to ask what this, I think
- 3:01Speaker 3: the collective NFL fan base listening to this just groaned.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I actually, I actually, I got a better one, Brandon.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I think that's fair.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Yeah. That is my favorite meme to use at work
- 3:19Speaker 3: in my work job lately. Whenever my boss is like, Brandon,
- 3:21Speaker 3: I need you to go do these things.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And I'm like, boo this man.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Speaking of work, how was your work week, Brandon?
- 3:31Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. It's been rough. I recently changed jobs
- 3:38Speaker 3: because I know the last time we discussed it, I
- 3:39Speaker 3: worked in warehousing. Right now I am management for a
- 3:44Speaker 3: Medicare Advantage health insurance plan that's actually based out of California.
- 3:49Speaker 3: So we've been ramping up on open enrollment season that
- 3:53Speaker 3: starts on the 15th of this month. So I've been
- 3:57Speaker 3: battening down the hatches and preparing for my agents to
- 4:01Speaker 3: not panic, kick and scream at the air, and then
- 4:04Speaker 3: cry and puke everywhere out of nerves.
- 4:07Speaker 2: But, you know, here we are.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Remind me on Thursday to actually call Florida Blue on
- 4:13Speaker 1: that one because, again, I don't have insurance right now.
- 4:18Speaker 3: It would be handy, right?
- 4:19Speaker 2: It would really be handy at this point.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Well, I mean, if anything, though, I can always go
- 4:25Speaker 1: to Saudi Arabia. It's a level three travel advisory.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Woo-hoo. Somebody's not here in the morning.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Anyway, we'll avoid that topic for another day.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll avoid that, and we'll actually transition. Nova, how
- 4:40Speaker 1: goes the broadcasting? How were those games over the weekend?
- 4:46Speaker 2: You mind answering me how we had a game in
- 4:50Speaker 2: the rain for the first time in quite a long time?
- 4:53Speaker 2: It's been over a year since I covered a game
- 4:54Speaker 2: in the rain.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I mean, it's a rain game, so was there any
- 5:02Speaker 1: slipping and sliding by the players?
- 5:04Speaker 2: None, actually. There was none. The only slip-up was the
- 5:08Speaker 2: Glendale Vaqueros going for a pitch option that went for
- 5:11Speaker 2: a fumble, and then San Bernardino Valley College's Dylan Dunn
- 5:15Speaker 2: went 92 yards for a defensive touchdown to make it 41-7.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I mean, Brandon, isn't it fun when you hear a
- 5:23Speaker 1: score of 41-7? I just hear insult to injury.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I mean, to be fair, it was 35-7 at halftime.
- 5:30Speaker 2: But again, San Bernardino Valley College, they beat Glendale 55-7.
- 5:35Speaker 2: They advanced to 6-1 in the season. If you're wondering
- 5:38Speaker 2: why they're 6-1, because their next game is a forfeit
- 5:42Speaker 2: win because L.A. Pierce's football program didn't have enough players.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I have questions about that, but at the same time.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Well, it's like, I don't know what their circumstances are,
- 5:55Speaker 3: but I actually had a local... High school football program,
- 5:59Speaker 3: to me, get canceled this season because their turf is
- 6:02Speaker 3: so bad. Out of their entire roster, they have, I
- 6:07Speaker 3: kid you not, 13 ACL tears on their varsity football team.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Do they use the same turf as MetLife Stadium?
- 6:17Speaker 3: It might be a little worse, honestly, because you have
- 6:21Speaker 3: 13 different high schoolers on your varsity team tear their ACLs. You...
- 6:25Speaker 3: You probably should hire a new groundskeeper or something.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I mean, I honestly know that. I think I'm in
- 6:32Speaker 1: agreement with that. I mean, you might want to reconsider
- 6:36Speaker 1: what you're doing out there.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Reconsider your career path?
- 6:39Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, other than that, high school football
- 6:43Speaker 2: is going quite cleanly in the River Valley League. We
- 6:47Speaker 2: have a bit of a tame week that time. I'm
- 6:49Speaker 2: looking at you, Pep and Jeff, because I know I
- 6:50Speaker 2: did call it the River Chaos League a couple weeks ago,
- 6:52Speaker 2: but last week was tame. But this week might be
- 6:55Speaker 2: interesting because we might know a lot more about who's
- 6:59Speaker 2: going to get those three automatic playoff spots. And also,
- 7:03Speaker 2: I'm still in shock that my local high school ended
- 7:06Speaker 2: their 20-game losing streak last week. I was surprised.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Did you say 20 games? Yes.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And you want to know something else? The team they beat,
- 7:16Speaker 2: they were on a 16-game losing streak. So now it's
- 7:18Speaker 2: at 17.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Ha! Ha!
- 7:23Speaker 1: You gotta love continuing a losing streak at the cost
- 7:25Speaker 1: of ending your own losing streak.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah i'm actually a little surprised about that one but
- 7:30Speaker 2: yeah i thought it's one way along you know had
- 7:32Speaker 2: the rain day at san bernardino valley college should be
- 7:35Speaker 2: fine now and then high school football it's getting interesting
- 7:38Speaker 2: like we're nearing the the weeks where all these games
- 7:42Speaker 2: are going to matter for playoff spots because uh not
- 7:45Speaker 2: every game not every game is guaranteed now.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And speaking of playoff spots, at the very least, we
- 7:51Speaker 1: can– because we're talking about playoffs and we're talking about
- 7:53Speaker 1: colleges and all that. What was your guys' thoughts on
- 7:57Speaker 1: the Red River rivalry game and also what happened in
- 8:00Speaker 1: Georgia and Alabama?
- 8:02Speaker 2: I have my thoughts on Georgia and Alabama because I
- 8:04Speaker 2: really– well, first of all, because I was at the
- 8:07Speaker 2: commentary game for SBBC, I wasn't really able to watch
- 8:09Speaker 2: either game. But I did hear about the Georgia-Alabama ending. Oh,
- 8:13Speaker 2: my God.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Like– Would you like my thoughts on this one as
- 8:17Speaker 3: the resident Alabama fan? And also somebody who is the
- 8:21Speaker 3: captain of the Alabama VG community as well?
- 8:25Speaker 1: Please do.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Whenever I can take to social media and I see
- 8:33Speaker 3: a trend of the same people who despise Alabama say
- 8:38Speaker 3: that Alabama got fucking robbed by the refs the entire game.
- 8:44Speaker 3: you know that officiating was dog shit.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I mean, I can understand that a little bit, but
- 8:51Speaker 1: please continue.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Watching the game myself, that was one of the most
- 8:58Speaker 3: poorly officiated college football games that I think I genuinely
- 9:03Speaker 3: have ever seen. Like, it's... I don't understand how this
- 9:11Speaker 3: even happened. You have literal textbook defensive pass interference at
- 9:18Speaker 3: the end of the game where Georgia's player is effectively
- 9:22Speaker 3: almost going helmet first into the wide receiver without even
- 9:26Speaker 3: looking into the direction of the football. You have a
- 9:30Speaker 3: missed face mask call that was almost so bad that
- 9:34Speaker 3: the receiver almost came close to concussion symptoms off of it.
- 9:39Speaker 3: You have people getting piledroven to the ground like it's
- 9:43Speaker 3: an episode of Brokeback Mountain in terms of college football. Like,
- 9:50Speaker 3: this was a legitimately bad game. And the thing is,
- 9:56Speaker 3: Alabama still kept it close the entire time. So if
- 10:01Speaker 3: I'm sitting over here watching this game and I see
- 10:03Speaker 3: the way that Georgia's having this game officiated in their favor,
- 10:08Speaker 3: then I'm just sitting over here going, well, what do
- 10:10Speaker 3: we do? What does this game look like if the
- 10:15Speaker 3: refs actually just let it played? Like, for example, missed
- 10:18Speaker 3: face mask, incorrectly overturned interception, which that ball never touched
- 10:22Speaker 3: the ground. There is separation in a replay of an
- 10:25Speaker 3: overturned interception where the corner's hands were not even touching
- 10:29Speaker 3: the ground, much less the ball touching the ground. Like,
- 10:33Speaker 3: think Super Bowl 53, sorry, Talon. Or think Super Bowl,
- 10:38Speaker 3: was it 51 with the Falcons and the Patriots? Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah, 53 was the Rams. Yeah, in Atlanta Stadium, after
- 10:48Speaker 1: the Rams had what you're describing with the no-call pass interference.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Yeah, so 51, where Julian Edelman had that really insane
- 11:01Speaker 3: catch off of the defender, it was significantly more clear
- 11:06Speaker 3: than that catch was. And it has an interception, and
- 11:09Speaker 3: it got overturned in Georgia's favor. So you have the
- 11:13Speaker 3: worst missed P.I. in CFP history. A Georgia receiver threw
- 11:18Speaker 3: a punch at an Alabama player and didn't get ejected
- 11:21Speaker 3: from the game. And then on top of that, you
- 11:25Speaker 3: have a clear, egregious missed call on targeting from Georgia. Like,
- 11:32Speaker 3: you literally had a helmet-to-helmet situation. On our player, I
- 11:36Speaker 3: will actually, I'll actually show this in our Discord chats
- 11:41Speaker 3: in case you guys haven't seen it. And it wasn't
- 11:44Speaker 3: one of those things where, you know, it might happen
- 11:46Speaker 3: to be like incidental contact. It was actually, he leaned
- 11:52Speaker 3: his head down into Bama's player. And it clicked helmet
- 11:58Speaker 3: to helmet. And how it went no-call is absolutely beyond me.
- 12:03Speaker 3: How this guy did not walk away with a concussion
- 12:05Speaker 3: is beyond me.
- 12:06Speaker 1: And not only that, I'm watching the video right now,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and he not only targeted the Alabama player, he targeted
- 12:15Speaker 1: his own teammate.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Like, that was a no-call. There was no flag whatsoever. Wow.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Wow.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I mean, we always make jokes about Alabama bias, but
- 12:28Speaker 2: this is egregious.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 3: If I could see an Alabama hatred-filled fanbase, or anti-fanbase,
- 12:38Speaker 3: I guess, for lack of a better term, saying that
- 12:41Speaker 3: Alabama legitimately got screwed out of this game, you know
- 12:44Speaker 3: the officiating was actually really poor.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's kind of bad. I mean, look, as
- 12:52Speaker 1: much as I narc on the Saints with the You know, oh,
- 12:55Speaker 1: that was a good no-call on the obvious defensive pass interference.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I think everybody and their mother knows that is all
- 13:04Speaker 1: in good nature. We're trying to fuck with you because
- 13:08Speaker 1: you guys fuck with us over 28-3, even though you
- 13:11Speaker 1: guys were not part of that game. And the only
- 13:13Speaker 1: people that are allowed to go after Falcons fans for
- 13:15Speaker 1: 28-3 are Patriots fans because they are the victor. To
- 13:21Speaker 1: the victor go the spoils.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Not.
- 13:23Speaker 1: the hated rivals of the team to which the victor goes,
- 13:27Speaker 1: the spoils. But yeah, no, that was a bad miss
- 13:31Speaker 1: DPI on who is it? Number four on Georgia.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I don't know his name or anything like that, but yeah, no, he's,
- 13:41Speaker 1: I mean, it's also bad when Russell York on the
- 13:45Speaker 1: broadcast actually comes out and says, yeah, this should have
- 13:48Speaker 1: been a DPI. I don't know why it wasn't called.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Like you, you had the broadcast saying.
- 13:53Speaker 2: It, I really only caught the tail end of it,
- 13:58Speaker 2: where it was like there was a really egregious penalty
- 14:00Speaker 2: called his Alabama and came with the Boer went off.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, no, he was going off for most of the
- 14:06Speaker 3: game because that was just horrendous.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 1: No, it was absolutely horrendous. But outside of that, I mean,
- 14:16Speaker 1: quick thoughts on the Red River rivalry. Did you guys
- 14:18Speaker 1: catch any of that with Texas and Oklahoma?
- 14:21Speaker 2: Only the voice crack from Sean McDonough.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I love voice cracks in their broadcasting.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I love it. Yeah, but Arch Manning, is he really
- 14:33Speaker 2: that good? I don't think he is.
- 14:35Speaker 3: He's not.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I mean, I know the whole debate is going on
- 14:39Speaker 1: where it's like, oh, he might be getting protection because
- 14:42Speaker 1: of his last name. Like, how about Sarkeesian? was saying,
- 14:47Speaker 1: and I don't co-sign that at all. Like, I don't
- 14:50Speaker 1: give a damn if your last name is Manning. I
- 14:52Speaker 1: don't give a damn if your last name is Brady.
- 14:54Speaker 1: If you are a quarterback, act like one. And don't
- 14:59Speaker 1: throw a game-sealing interception in the last minute of the
- 15:04Speaker 1: fourth quarter in that rivalry. And this isn't even that
- 15:10Speaker 1: rivalry game where it's supposed to happen Thanksgiving week where
- 15:13Speaker 1: it's rivalry week. This is just rivalry game, but a
- 15:20Speaker 1: good rivalry.
- 15:22Speaker 3: What's not even that is I think that as far
- 15:24Speaker 3: as the Texas team is concerned, I think it was
- 15:27Speaker 3: just a very poorly coached game all around, too, because
- 15:30Speaker 3: not only did Arch Manning throw two interceptions, one of
- 15:34Speaker 3: which was returned 42 yards for a TD, the Texas
- 15:39Speaker 3: special teams also wasn't there either because they had a
- 15:41Speaker 3: punt return for a TD as well. So if you
- 15:44Speaker 3: take out at least one of those defensive or special
- 15:46Speaker 3: team scorings, then Texas still wins the game. But overall,
- 15:50Speaker 3: Archman just looked really bad. Yeah, he had a pretty
- 15:53Speaker 3: decently high passing yardage. He went in 19 for 31, 260,
- 15:57Speaker 3: three TDs, two picks. He still looked really bad. Again,
- 16:00Speaker 3: especially against an unranked Oklahoma team.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, Nova, any final thoughts on this?
- 16:09Speaker 2: Is Ohio State a lot worse than that loss? Or
- 16:12Speaker 2: did that Texas wouldn't mask a lot of things at
- 16:15Speaker 2: the time. I didn't really pay attention to much about
- 16:17Speaker 2: the national side of college football. Maybe I'll watch it
- 16:20Speaker 2: every now and then.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I can't say much. I hate Ohio State with a
- 16:25Speaker 3: burning passion because they have the rules bent to their
- 16:28Speaker 3: will every single year. They make playoffs when they shouldn't.
- 16:32Speaker 3: They're the reason that the playoff bracket got extended and
- 16:36Speaker 3: then still somehow barely make it in. I don't know.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I'm biased though. Fuck you, Ohio State.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Oh, we make a bias from you immediately in our segment.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Don't worry. Talon, you want to explain that?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, we'll be having some bias coming out
- 16:51Speaker 1: because we are going to recap week five of the NFL.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I mean, guys, heartedly, we're already five weeks in on
- 16:56Speaker 1: the NFL season, isn't it?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Yep. I have my words about this week. Both good
- 17:03Speaker 2: and bad.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're wearing a number five jersey even though
- 17:07Speaker 1: you're from L.A. Why are you wearing a number five
- 17:11Speaker 1: jersey when you should be wearing number four or number
- 17:14Speaker 1: six out of respect for Jaden Daniels?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Look, you cannot disrespect the Cajon star, Jaden Daniels. He
- 17:22Speaker 2: has a stadium name after himself from high school. I've
- 17:24Speaker 2: been there this year.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Yes, but again, I thought the number five was taboo.
- 17:31Speaker 2: It is not taboo. Tyler Huntley Ward, okay?
- 17:37Speaker 1: Yes, we will.
- 17:38Speaker 3: We'll touch on that one later.
- 17:40Speaker 1: We will definitely touch on that later. But let's start
- 17:43Speaker 1: talking about the games for this week. And also, before
- 17:47Speaker 1: we get into it, based on the numbers before we
- 17:52Speaker 1: go into week six, I can actually do this for
- 17:55Speaker 1: the first time. Because Brandon won the week. Brandon won 10, 4,
- 18:08Speaker 1: and 1 this week. So he is now, he is,
- 18:12Speaker 1: I mean, he's still in third place. I should mention
- 18:14Speaker 1: that in the overall picks. But he did win a week.
- 18:17Speaker 1: So he's got that in his back pocket.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Listen here. Let me have my moment.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Please do.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Oh, no. Anyway, continue. Oh, my God.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so Brandon went 10-4-1. So he is now 45-33-1. Nova,
- 18:37Speaker 1: you went 8-6-1. So you're now at 47-31-1. And then
- 18:45Speaker 1: I went 9-5-1. So we all went positive this week.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but it feels like I'm slipping now.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I mean, there's only a four-game difference between first and
- 18:56Speaker 1: third place. So anything is possible, especially with all these
- 19:00Speaker 1: buys coming up. But it's good to start with the
- 19:04Speaker 1: first game of this week. And that was the Tampa
- 19:09Speaker 1: Bay Buccaneers defeating the Dallas Cowboys. Ladies and gentlemen, if
- 19:18Speaker 1: you can't hear that in the back of my microphone
- 19:21Speaker 1: or Nova's microphone, that is Brandon literally screaming and raising
- 19:27Speaker 1: his hand going, ooh, teacher, me, me.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Me.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Brandon, take it away.
- 19:34Speaker 2: This is what I'm alluding to, Tobias.
- 19:37Speaker 3: How about them cowboys?
- 19:44Speaker 2: Legitimately, I had the same reaction.
- 19:46Speaker 3: How do you lose to an undrafted rookie QB?
- 19:53Speaker 1: More importantly, Brandon, how do you lose almost a 10-point favorite?
- 19:59Speaker 3: How do you lose and give up 165 yards on
- 20:03Speaker 3: the ground to Bucky Irving?
- 20:07Speaker 2: Maybe Bucky Irving is finally good.
- 20:10Speaker 3: How do you get held to 13 rushing yards?
- 20:15Speaker 1: No, that's 13 attempts. It was 13 attempts for 50 yards.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sorry. 13 for 50 yards.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Still, how do you get held to 50 rushing yards?
- 20:22Speaker 3: I don't know how to read that. Did they just take.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Gordon running the whole time?
- 20:25Speaker 3: They couldn't run the ball, so they said, fuck it,
- 20:28Speaker 3: let's sling it. Because Dak threw 42 times. So, I
- 20:30Speaker 3: don't fucking know. I just want to know what happened.
- 20:36Speaker 3: So I really alluded to the fact earlier in the
- 20:38Speaker 3: season that I didn't think Dallas was that good even
- 20:40Speaker 3: on paper. You gave that winless Tampa Bay team their
- 20:45Speaker 3: first win of the season without Baker Mayfield. I'm very
- 20:52Speaker 3: surprised I've not seen anybody get fired since Sunday.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Well, technically somebody did get fired.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Somebody technically did, but not from Dallas.
- 21:02Speaker 1: No, he was a third-party contractor who got caught saying
- 21:05Speaker 1: embarrassing while Dak was walking to the locker room.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Oh, they fired him for that? Man, somebody get this
- 21:11Speaker 3: man to go fund me for freedom of speech. Because
- 21:15Speaker 3: he's not fucking wrong. I mean, if your name wasn't
- 21:20Speaker 3: George Pickens, you pretty much got ignored the entire time.
- 21:24Speaker 3: He did spread the ball a lot. You know, but
- 21:27Speaker 3: 13 targets for George Pickens and your next highest targeting
- 21:31Speaker 3: was six. So, yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Crash out Kings at it again.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And then also, let's not forget that Dak had the
- 21:41Speaker 1: two interceptions. And I think both of them were when
- 21:44Speaker 1: he targeted Ferguson.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say, those interceptions were not
- 21:47Speaker 2: even his fault.
- 21:49Speaker 3: It's still fucking funny.
- 21:53Speaker 2: No, no, it is.
- 21:53Speaker 3: It is. It's definitely still funny.
- 21:56Speaker 2: It is, but it's just like, how is that? That's
- 21:59Speaker 2: amazing how Dak threw two interceptions, but neither of them
- 22:02Speaker 2: were his fault. It doesn't matter.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Fuck them Cowboys. How do you go into halftime up
- 22:10Speaker 3: 10-7 and then turn around and give up 17 unanswered
- 22:13Speaker 3: points in the third quarter?
- 22:16Speaker 2: Or a better question, what did Todd Walsh do to
- 22:18Speaker 2: give Cowboys fans hope again? Because he tried to throw
- 22:21Speaker 2: this game.
- 22:22Speaker 3: And this man choked.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he choked, all right. I mean.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Analytics say, go to your field goal at the one-yard line. No,
- 22:31Speaker 2: I'm going to go for the touchdown. End the game.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Didn't happen.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Oh, goodness. Very reminiscent of the Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl when
- 22:39Speaker 3: you have Marshawn Lynch on the field and you choose
- 22:41Speaker 3: to not run the ball.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Here's the thing. Tampa didn't run the ball in the
- 22:45Speaker 2: fourth half. They were stuffed.
- 22:47Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 22:49Speaker 3: You know who didn't run the ball?
- 22:50Speaker 2: Dallas. Yeah, they had the one rushing touchdown by Javante Williams,
- 22:54Speaker 2: and then he just magically disappeared.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yeah, he just disappeared. He disappeared, and the Cowboys defense disappeared. Because,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I mean, Bucky Irvin, like, again, Brandon, you brought up
- 23:06Speaker 1: Bucky Irvin with a buck 65. Long of 72, where
- 23:11Speaker 1: Bucky Irvin basically broke, I don't know, what, like six tackles?
- 23:15Speaker 1: Maybe seven? And if you think I'm doing that stupid
- 23:19Speaker 1: hand gesture, you're out of your mind. Like, you had
- 23:23Speaker 1: that happen. And then Tez Johnson, he has one reception
- 23:29Speaker 1: on one target, and it's because De'Ron Bland trips on
- 23:34Speaker 1: his own two feet.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Yep. I got to say, like, even with that Javante
- 23:39Speaker 3: Williams touchdown, that literally came on a one-yard rush in
- 23:43Speaker 3: the first quarter. And then their last touchdown didn't come
- 23:47Speaker 3: until the fourth quarter from George Pickens.
- 23:49Speaker 1: It was a hell of a catch, though. Hell of
- 23:51Speaker 1: a catch.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, it was. It's a great catch. But, like,
- 23:54Speaker 3: Tampa Bay dominated this entire game. They absolutely dominated. 419
- 24:01Speaker 3: total yards of offense to Dallas' 366. No turnovers, but
- 24:05Speaker 3: three for Dallas. 24 first downs to 20. They had
- 24:09Speaker 3: seven for 13 on third down conversions. Dallas was 40%
- 24:13Speaker 3: at four for 10. Both teams were 0 for 1
- 24:16Speaker 3: from fourth down conversions. I'm a possession 39 minutes and
- 24:20Speaker 3: 21 seconds to 20 minutes and 39 seconds. Tampa Bay
- 24:25Speaker 3: dominated this game on all sides of the ball. I
- 24:28Speaker 3: want to keep seeing this because of the fucking Cowboys.
- 24:31Speaker 3: But I also want to see them actually start doing
- 24:34Speaker 3: well because that was that was a great Thursday.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Nova, you have a comment.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I do, and it's something interesting I saw. I mean,
- 24:43Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure Brian is going to hate me for this,
- 24:45Speaker 2: but it was from Colin Cowherd when I was listening
- 24:47Speaker 2: while I was waiting in my college library. I was
- 24:51Speaker 2: listening to it. He keeps talking about these cheap coaches,
- 24:56Speaker 2: and he's like, well, all these coaches don't feel like
- 24:58Speaker 2: they're doing much of anything. I'm starting to think Brian
- 25:01Speaker 2: Schottenheimer was one of them.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Well, yeah. I mean, he works in Dallas. He's the
- 25:05Speaker 1: coach of Dallas. Everybody knows that team is run by
- 25:07Speaker 1: Jerry Jones.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah, but it just feels like a cheap inclusion. It's
- 25:12Speaker 2: not helping the Cowboys win the game. Have you not
- 25:15Speaker 2: seen their defensive efforts? They're not helping. And then all
- 25:19Speaker 2: these moves, even that Jerry makes. Remember when he emphasized
- 25:24Speaker 2: stopping the run when he traded away Micah Parsons?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Guess what?
- 25:27Speaker 2: You cannot stop the run.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a great trade for Kenny Clark, wasn't it, Brandon?
- 25:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a lovely trade for Kenny Clark.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Oh, and Quinton Williams, too.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Oh, man, I forgot about Quinton Williams. Don't the Jets have, like,
- 25:41Speaker 1: five of the top 15 picks in next year's draft?
- 25:45Speaker 2: They have the Colts and the Cowboys first-round picks.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Next year is going to be fun for the Jets.
- 25:54Speaker 1: The question is, will they have their head coach still?
- 25:58Speaker 3: Oh, I'm actually looking this up because I actually want
- 26:01Speaker 3: that exact answer.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Oh, hey, yeah, I forgot. Anzalone finally got a pick.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Yeah, off of because it literally bounced off of Ferguson's
- 26:08Speaker 1: hands and his helmet.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so it says the Jets have their own pick,
- 26:13Speaker 3: which they're projected in the top 10 to 12 range.
- 26:16Speaker 3: They have the pick from the Cowboys slash Packers. They
- 26:19Speaker 3: received the better of the two selections between the Quinn
- 26:22Speaker 3: and Williams trade and the Micah Parsons trade. And then
- 26:26Speaker 3: they have the Indy pick acquired via sauce.
- 26:31Speaker 1: So they have four picks.
- 26:33Speaker 3: No, no, they have three. They get the better of
- 26:35Speaker 3: the two between the Quinn and Williams trade and the
- 26:38Speaker 3: Micah Parsons trade. I think that might have been a
- 26:41Speaker 3: three-way trade, if I'm not mistaken. But they get the
- 26:44Speaker 3: better of those two draft picks. So they have three
- 26:48Speaker 3: in the first round in 2027.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Over under that, they'll actually hit on one.
- 26:57Speaker 2: They'll definitely hit one. I'm not sure about all three.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I mean, the last time there was a team that
- 27:02Speaker 2: had three first round picks, it was the Raiders and
- 27:04Speaker 2: they only hit on Josh Jacobs.
- 27:06Speaker 3: No, they legitimately have three first round picks solidified.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Well, no, no, we're saying like over under that they'll
- 27:16Speaker 1: hit on one of them.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, at least one. Sorry, I misunderstood the question. Yeah,
- 27:23Speaker 3: they'll do at least one.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my answer.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it was about like if they'll hit. Because again,
- 27:29Speaker 1: we'll worry about scouting once January comes around or whatever.
- 27:34Speaker 1: At least for right now, we don't care about that.
- 27:36Speaker 2: But again, there is something else you should care about.
- 27:39Speaker 2: And that's the disaster that's going to be continuing on
- 27:41Speaker 2: the NFC East. Because from Dallas to London, England, we
- 27:46Speaker 2: go with the Eagles and the Jaguars.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Remember how we said that the theme of this podcast, gentlemen,
- 27:54Speaker 1: was if we only had time?
- 27:56Speaker 2: I mean, the Cowboys didn't show it immediately. I'm pretty
- 28:01Speaker 2: sure nobody else has got the memo.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Yeah, so what's this about time? I think the Eagles
- 28:07Speaker 3: missed a memo on that one.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah, they were training all day in Philadelphia while Jacksonville
- 28:12Speaker 2: was comfortably in Great Britain.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Yeah, not only that one, but Somebody correct me if
- 28:19Speaker 3: I'm wrong, but was it Philadelphia leading this game with
- 28:23Speaker 3: eight seconds left?
- 28:24Speaker 1: Yes, they were. Yes.
- 28:26Speaker 2: And you want to know the funny part is I
- 28:27Speaker 2: actually tuned into the second to the fourth quarter because
- 28:30Speaker 2: I somehow woke up.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yes, because because by the time you woke up, it
- 28:36Speaker 1: was getting time for the early window on the one
- 28:39Speaker 1: o'clock because this game ended after the one o'clock window begun.
- 28:44Speaker 1: That's how crazy this game was. Also kind of how
- 28:46Speaker 1: long it was. Am I right, Brandon?
- 28:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it was pretty long.
- 28:50Speaker 1: But I've got a fun line about this game. The
- 28:55Speaker 1: NFC East, we will serve an AFC contender a loss
- 29:00Speaker 1: in a foreign country with eight seconds or less, or
- 29:04Speaker 1: your order is free.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Oh, Jacksonville has always done, like, weirdly notoriously well in
- 29:13Speaker 3: London as well, if you haven't realized it by now either.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah, they've done really good.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah. They have, and I don't necessarily want to use
- 29:22Speaker 1: the card where it's like, oh, they own that stadium,
- 29:25Speaker 1: so technically they're supposed to do well in this. I mean,
- 29:29Speaker 1: for years, the cons own the Wembley Stadium. Last time
- 29:33Speaker 1: I checked, Brandon, because you're a you're in carolina territory
- 29:38Speaker 1: uh weren't the jaguars in running with the panthers for
- 29:41Speaker 1: like which cat team would be the worst in the
- 29:44Speaker 1: nfl yes yeah so it's like they were being bad
- 29:51Speaker 1: even when The cons owned Wembley stadium. I mean, yes,
- 29:55Speaker 1: it helps when you have a quarterback with, with, you know,
- 29:59Speaker 1: that luscious main that, I mean, Nova already went off
- 30:02Speaker 1: on cowherd that, you know, made, made Brandon want to vomit.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I'm going to go off on Nick, right? Because he
- 30:09Speaker 1: had to bring out the trumpeters for the Prince. That
- 30:12Speaker 1: was promised after this game, because Parker Washington guys, It's crazy.
- 30:20Speaker 1: We're five weeks in. I think we've got, what, eight
- 30:23Speaker 1: contenders for catch of the year, and Parker Washington has,
- 30:26Speaker 1: I think, two of them.
- 30:28Speaker 3: They were pretty good catches.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I mean, the touchdown is a fourth down.
- 30:35Speaker 2: I'm trying to remember which one it was. I think
- 30:37Speaker 2: it's Ditsy one of them. I'm trying to remember which
- 30:39Speaker 2: one it was.
- 30:42Speaker 1: It was the last touchdown that Parker Washington caught. That
- 30:47Speaker 1: gave them a 16-14 lead because Cam Little then shanked
- 30:51Speaker 1: the PAT.
- 30:52Speaker 2: No, that's not on Cam Little. Remember, that was a
- 30:54Speaker 2: high snap by the center.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Because it was a backup center because their real long snapper,
- 30:59Speaker 1: I think, was sick or injured or one of the two.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, it was a high snap. Holder really
- 31:05Speaker 2: didn't have much time to adjust to it.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Boom, shanked.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Laces out, Dan. Laces out.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't blame that missed PAT on Little. I
- 31:14Speaker 2: blame that on the rest of the special team staff.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of would as well. But, I mean, Brandon,
- 31:21Speaker 1: I'm actually curious about it from your vantage point because, again,
- 31:25Speaker 1: we were talking about Dallas and all that. What is
- 31:30Speaker 1: it with Philadelphia? Like, is it their coaching? Is it
- 31:34Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts? Because, I mean, yes, I know Jalen Hurts,
- 31:38Speaker 1: former Alabama boy. Me saying anything negative about Jalen Hurts
- 31:42Speaker 1: might be problematic.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Body sucks.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I said that last week. I don't think he was
- 31:50Speaker 3: that good. Like, like, like going back to what we
- 31:54Speaker 3: said last week, I think the, because he was part
- 31:57Speaker 3: of that natty run that we had with Jalen and Tua.
- 32:01Speaker 3: And neither one of them were really that great for
- 32:03Speaker 3: us because we ran dual QBs all year long. I just,
- 32:08Speaker 3: I like, yeah, Jalen had like a better QBR. He
- 32:11Speaker 3: had more yards and he's probably had in like the
- 32:13Speaker 3: last two or three games. But he still hasn't looked good.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I don't know what's happened with his game management, but
- 32:21Speaker 3: it's absolutely just shit to bed.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely been problematic. And then, I mean, also
- 32:29Speaker 1: look at this, Nova. We just talked about how Dallas
- 32:31Speaker 1: had 50 yards total for the game. This is 18
- 32:35Speaker 1: carries for 22 yards, and two of them were by
- 32:39Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts for a grand total of two yards.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Now, remember, they don't have Saquon Barkley. They don't have
- 32:44Speaker 2: Hank Bigsby.
- 32:46Speaker 1: They also didn't have Devontae Smith, and they shipped off A.J.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Brown to New England, and A.J. Brown isn't even playing
- 32:52Speaker 1: for New England, but more on the Patriots in a minute.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but the talking point here is the ending of
- 32:57Speaker 2: the game, because Jake Elliott hit a 48-yard field goal
- 33:00Speaker 2: to get the go-ahead lead for the Eagles, 17-16 with
- 33:02Speaker 2: eight seconds left, and this is now the third time
- 33:05Speaker 2: where a kick nearly... Like, influence the game, because, like,
- 33:08Speaker 2: the only game it didn't influence was Steelers-Browns, because that
- 33:10Speaker 2: was because Aaron Rodgers was a wide-open DK Metcalf, but.
- 33:15Speaker 2: What is with these teams that are just, like, making
- 33:17Speaker 2: terrible decisions on, like, less than 10-second kickoffs?
- 33:22Speaker 3: Like, it's not even, like, how do you have your
- 33:24Speaker 3: special team's coverage get busted so much that you let
- 33:27Speaker 3: him return? That you let any team return to beyond
- 33:30Speaker 3: midfield for a game-winning attempt?
- 33:33Speaker 2: And keep in mind, I don't think they had to
- 33:34Speaker 2: be at midfield because look at us, Cam Littles kicked
- 33:36Speaker 2: a 68-yard field goal.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm curious if he would have been able
- 33:41Speaker 1: to kick a 68 or 69-yarder in London. I mean, again,
- 33:47Speaker 1: London higher on the geographical vantage point. Again, I didn't
- 33:52Speaker 1: really know the wind speed or anything like that. I
- 33:56Speaker 1: thought it was at Wembley.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Oh, no, it was at Tottenham, wasn't it?
- 34:02Speaker 1: Was it Tottenham?
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I remember it was a discussion.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it was at Tottenham.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Oh, why did I fucking think this was at Wembley?
- 34:14Speaker 2: There's more than one soccer stadium.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Again, I'm so used to, like I said, about the
- 34:20Speaker 1: cons owning Wembley Stadium. I forgot they've been splitting the
- 34:24Speaker 1: London series between Tottenham and Wembley.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but more so to my point. Yeah, a mere
- 34:29Speaker 2: do look, it's a really strong return for the Jaguars.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Cam Little in field goal range. And yeah, then Cam
- 34:34Speaker 2: Little makes that 57 yarder to win the game. And
- 34:37Speaker 2: it's the second week in a row that the Eagles
- 34:39Speaker 2: blow a 97% win percentage.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Again, we need to have serious discussions about Nick Sirianni.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Brandon, you want to open up those thoughts?
- 34:53Speaker 3: He sucks too. Open and shut. There's no really beating
- 35:01Speaker 3: around the bush on that one. He just sucks. Like,
- 35:05Speaker 3: he had his good run with a very loaded Philadelphia roster.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Are you kidding? He got carried.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Like, carried. Absolutely. Freaking carried. And that was really just
- 35:16Speaker 3: the gist of it. Other than that, he was boo-boo.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but now Philadelphia is 2-3 in their division. Jacksonville
- 35:26Speaker 1: is 4-1, and.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I mean, again, it looks like Jacksonville is strongly making
- 35:31Speaker 1: the case to keep pace with the Chiefs for that
- 35:35Speaker 1: number one seed, which I don't think Jacksonville has ever
- 35:38Speaker 1: had before. Am I right?
- 35:40Speaker 2: No, they've not had a one seed in their entire
- 35:42Speaker 2: franchise history.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Yeah. So, I mean, it's possible they could if the
- 35:48Speaker 1: Chiefs slip up.
- 35:49Speaker 2: There's one more thing I want to add, and that's
- 35:51Speaker 2: Trevor Lawrence in his press conference postgame. He was pointing
- 35:55Speaker 2: out that there were more Eagles fans than there were
- 35:57Speaker 2: Jaguars fans in Tottenham, and he decided to rub it in.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Again, like, Brandon has reiterated to the victor go the spoils.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Am I right, Brandon?
- 36:08Speaker 3: Yeah, also, I mean, absolutely. But also, Jacksonville has had
- 36:12Speaker 3: the number one seed in the AFC before. They had
- 36:14Speaker 3: it in 1999. Oh, how did I forget that? Yeah,
- 36:19Speaker 3: they secured the top AFC spot because they defeated the
- 36:22Speaker 3: Miami Dolphins that year in a divisional round, 62-7, and
- 36:25Speaker 3: then they lost to the Titans in the AFCC.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I see. Oh, okay. Okay, my memory was a little
- 36:36Speaker 1: off on Jacksonville. And I live in this state, but
- 36:39Speaker 1: I live closer to Tampa than I do Jacksonville. But
- 36:45Speaker 1: I know Jacksonville next year will be playing in Orlando,
- 36:47Speaker 1: so maybe I'll drive out to Camping World Stadium and
- 36:51Speaker 1: go watch a Jags game.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I mean, you should. They're actually turning up again because
- 36:56Speaker 2: it really does look like William Cohen's found his groove
- 36:59Speaker 2: as the Jaguars head coach.
- 37:01Speaker 1: You know the only thing that sucks about next year
- 37:03Speaker 1: with the Jaguars guys?
- 37:07Speaker 3: What's that?
- 37:08Speaker 1: Atlanta plays Jacksonville next year, but the game's in Atlanta. Oh. Yeah,
- 37:14Speaker 1: if that game was in Jacksonville in Orlando, oh, my
- 37:19Speaker 1: ass would be at Camping World Stadium like that.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Yeah, but the last thing I'll say is that Jacksonville
- 37:25Speaker 2: is going to stay in London for another week.
- 37:29Speaker 1: They have another London game coming up.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Yes, they do.
- 37:33Speaker 2: It's next week. It is next week.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Oh boy, that should be fun.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Now to the 10 o'clock window.
- 37:39Speaker 1: 10 o'clock window for Nova, 1 o'clock window for Brandon
- 37:45Speaker 1: and I. And, you know, let's get the really– guys,
- 37:48Speaker 1: let's just get the really bad games out of the
- 37:51Speaker 1: way first. How about we start with Houston and Tennessee?
- 37:56Speaker 1: Who wants to take point on this one? First, the
- 37:59Speaker 1: sound clip.
- 38:00Speaker 2: The sound clip's the first thing you got to do, honestly.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Oh, you mean this one? I mean, if we're keeping
- 38:05Speaker 1: a book right now, we ass.
- 38:08Speaker 2: All right. This was the get-right game for Houston. You know,
- 38:12Speaker 2: the defense showed up. I don't think there's much that
- 38:16Speaker 2: hasn't been said that hasn't been said already about Tennessee. Like,
- 38:18Speaker 2: their whole roster sucks. Like, Cam Moore still doing himself
- 38:21Speaker 2: no favors. I mean, look at that. Like, 170 yards
- 38:23Speaker 2: and a pick. I think that pick was also another
- 38:26Speaker 2: dumb pick from him.
- 38:27Speaker 3: C.J.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Stroud, another game-manager-type game. The running game still is not
- 38:31Speaker 2: showing up for Houston. Uh, if you didn't see that
- 38:35Speaker 2: Dan Moore clip where he just blocks nobody, I don't
- 38:38Speaker 2: know why you haven't done that because this Tennessee roster,
- 38:41Speaker 2: they're 0-5. There's like no hope for them. And really,
- 38:46Speaker 2: the headline was outside because Houston got a headline and
- 38:50Speaker 2: so did Tennessee. Tennessee got the highlight because a reporter
- 38:54Speaker 2: asked a really dumb question to Cam Moore asking if
- 38:57Speaker 2: he's used to losing. And I, bro, you can't ask that.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Why not?
- 39:03Speaker 3: He's 0-5 now. He should be used to it.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I mean, again, Brandon played devil's advocate one way, Nova.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I'll play devil's advocate the other way. That media member,
- 39:16Speaker 1: whoever it was, I didn't catch their name. I feel
- 39:21Speaker 1: like they're trying to goad Cam Ward into snapping in
- 39:25Speaker 1: that postgame press conference so they can say, right there,
- 39:29Speaker 1: he is a immature. He is not cut out to
- 39:32Speaker 1: be a franchise quarterback, even though he's not cut out
- 39:35Speaker 1: to be a franchise quarterback.
- 39:37Speaker 2: No, that actually just says a lot about the Titans roster.
- 39:41Speaker 2: More than I think it says cam ward, but at
- 39:43Speaker 2: the same time, he's not doing himself any favors.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Like I've, don't really recall seeing the worst performing Heisman
- 39:55Speaker 3: Trophy finalist look like this.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Wasn't Jamarcus Russell a Heisman finalist?
- 40:03Speaker 3: I was going to say since Jamarcus Russell, but that's
- 40:06Speaker 3: been a hot minute. That's really been a hot. Like
- 40:10Speaker 3: even Johnny Manziel looked better than this.
- 40:13Speaker 1: And Johnny Manziel was smoking pot with Josh Gordon before games.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Oh, I missed Josh Gordon. If only he could have
- 40:19Speaker 3: stayed off the drugs, because that man was a hell
- 40:21Speaker 3: of a receiver.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yes, yes, he was. I mean, he played for New
- 40:25Speaker 1: England for a spell, didn't he?
- 40:27Speaker 2: He did, until he got suspended.
- 40:28Speaker 3: He got suspended for drug use.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the only thing that sucks. But yeah, Houston,
- 40:34Speaker 2: this was the get-right game.
- 40:35Speaker 3: C.J.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Stroud still has yet to throw a pick. And the
- 40:38Speaker 2: big headline for the Texans, they traded for Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah, what was your guys' thoughts on, like, the announcement
- 40:47Speaker 1: of the trade, where it was... It was chapter.
- 40:51Speaker 2: It was chapter. I hated it.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Brandon?
- 40:56Speaker 3: That was such a bullshit announcement. Oh, yeah, hey, by
- 41:00Speaker 3: the way, we traded for MHJ. Bye!
- 41:03Speaker 2: It's not even.
- 41:05Speaker 3: It's not even one. It's not even a good announcement, too.
- 41:08Speaker 3: I felt like MHJ should have went to a contender,
- 41:11Speaker 3: and the Texans are not contenders.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Now, watch this be the moment they actually start turning
- 41:17Speaker 2: it around, and we all regret saying that.
- 41:20Speaker 3: I still don't regret saying it, because I don't think
- 41:22Speaker 3: they're contenders. They could win out the rest of the year. Sorry,
- 41:25Speaker 3: I don't mean to keep cutting you off, Talon. They
- 41:27Speaker 3: could win out the rest of the year, and I
- 41:28Speaker 3: still don't think they're contenders.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I mean, that's a fair point. I mean, they could
- 41:33Speaker 1: literally go 11-6, 10-7, sneak a wild card spot, get
- 41:35Speaker 1: eliminated round one of, wild card weekend and yeah i
- 41:44Speaker 1: mean they're still not a contender because all they got
- 41:47Speaker 1: was just a a last minute invitation to the dance
- 41:51Speaker 1: so and plus they're in texas so they can just
- 41:53Speaker 1: square dance their way or dance to footloose uh on
- 41:57Speaker 1: their way out out of the tournament.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Hey come on now kenny that's a good song by
- 42:02Speaker 2: kelly and kenny.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Loggins no no denying that i'm just saying like Um,
- 42:08Speaker 1: but can I also say one thing about this game before?
- 42:11Speaker 1: Cause I know we talked about cam ward. Can we
- 42:13Speaker 1: study the decline of Calvin Ridley?
- 42:17Speaker 2: That's what I, when your suspension does to you.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but still like, I feel like I'm not even
- 42:25Speaker 1: saying it because he played for Atlanta. Like I, Brandon
- 42:29Speaker 1: watched Calvin Ridley. Tell me I'm wrong. Brandon wasn't slide rid,
- 42:33Speaker 1: like one of the best receivers that came out of
- 42:36Speaker 1: Alabama in the last 10 years.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he was. He also came out from a really
- 42:40Speaker 3: loaded receiver room too.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Yeah. So it's like seeing the fall off of him.
- 42:47Speaker 1: It hurts me as well because I mean, look, yeah.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Atlanta traded him essentially for pennies on the dollar after
- 42:56Speaker 1: he got suspended and because he gambled on Atlanta, although
- 43:02Speaker 1: I don't think we've ever spoken about this before, about
- 43:04Speaker 1: that specifically, but I'll say this. If a player bets
- 43:08Speaker 1: on their team to win, I'm more inclined to give
- 43:15Speaker 1: them a pass as opposed to if they're betting on
- 43:18Speaker 1: their team to lose, if that makes sense.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Are we really trying to know what the hell kind
- 43:23Speaker 2: of works? Because we saw what happened to that one
- 43:25Speaker 2: Toronto Raptors player. Yeah.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Kawhi Leonard? Yeah, no, I know.
- 43:29Speaker 2: No, that was another person. But yes, I am salty
- 43:33Speaker 2: about Kawhi Leonard. I am a little salty about that one.
- 43:35Speaker 3: I'm not salty about Kawhi Leonard at all. But like, no,
- 43:38Speaker 3: just to kind of like touch base back on his
- 43:41Speaker 3: receiving room, like Calvin Ridley had a really good receiving
- 43:45Speaker 3: room because these names are going to kind of make
- 43:48Speaker 3: you go odd unless he was kind of surrounded by that.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Irv Smith Jr. Devante Smith. Henry Ruggs. And Jerry Judy
- 43:59Speaker 3: were all in the same receiving room as him at Alabama.
- 44:04Speaker 3: That was our team. That was our receivers.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Speaking of receivers, Cardale Tate disappeared. Vanished.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Like a ninja.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's going to be something to study as well
- 44:20Speaker 1: with Tennessee. I mean, look, they're 0-5. And I think
- 44:23Speaker 1: it's also safe to say outside of, you know, they asked.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Remember Miami?
- 44:34Speaker 2: I disagree. I think Miami's better at the 0-5 teams,
- 44:37Speaker 2: let's be honest.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Bias.
- 44:40Speaker 1: No!
- 44:42Speaker 3: Me. Me. Me bias. Not you bias. Me bias.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Anyway, Bengals Dolphins. Speaking of you bias, Brandon.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Let me speak.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Look, I did.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Look, I know y'all are trying to hate me for
- 44:58Speaker 2: thinking that Miami Dolphins had a chance in this game.
- 45:00Speaker 2: And they almost did. I think maybe the scoring is
- 45:03Speaker 2: a lot of masking here. But this is a game
- 45:05Speaker 2: that the Bengals have to get right. And I don't
- 45:07Speaker 2: even think they did. But I will say, before Brandon
- 45:10Speaker 2: goes off, remember that one week where Talon was ranting
- 45:14Speaker 2: and then I brought up Eric Collins? Yes. He commentated
- 45:20Speaker 2: this game.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Refresh my memory. Who's Eric Collins again?
- 45:25Speaker 2: He is a point-by-point announcer for the Charlotte Hornets in
- 45:28Speaker 2: the NBA.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Oh, wait. That guy did this game?
- 45:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 45:33Speaker 1: He did. Oh, son of a bitch. I wish I
- 45:37Speaker 1: had watched this game because he's great.
- 45:39Speaker 3: He had some really good calls. He had some really
- 45:41Speaker 3: good calls. Damn.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I wish I had watched this game, but they gave us... Oh,
- 45:48Speaker 1: they get... We had to watch the Bears-Packers game. game
- 45:52Speaker 1: in my area.
- 45:54Speaker 2: You how did your local area not get miami.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Uh blame the broadcast maps that's all i can say
- 46:02Speaker 1: i think it like i think we had bengals dolphins
- 46:05Speaker 1: i think like wednesday they changed it to bears packers.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Wow you said you had a chance to watch eric
- 46:11Speaker 2: collins and they just said nope pretty much yeah uh
- 46:16Speaker 2: i need you to watch the highlights after this one
- 46:18Speaker 2: because uh eric collins He seriously needs to be hired
- 46:22Speaker 2: full term for Fox.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Yeah, he had very reminiscent calls to that of Mike
- 46:27Speaker 3: Breen and NBA. Because if you remember, whenever Curry had
- 46:31Speaker 3: some really good game winning shots against OKC in 2016,
- 46:35Speaker 3: he had that double bang call that kind of went
- 46:38Speaker 3: viral for a while. Yeah, it was very reminiscent of that.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Oh, it was like it was like that.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Yeah, if you watch this one catch to Jamar Chase,
- 46:47Speaker 2: I'm going to pull it up while Brandon goes off
- 46:50Speaker 2: on the Dolphins.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Brandon, the floor is yours.
- 46:56Speaker 3: The Dolphins just suck, man. I mean, honestly, like, did
- 47:00Speaker 3: the Dolphins look better this game? Yes. But also at
- 47:03Speaker 3: the same time, I think this is a really suspect.
- 47:06Speaker 3: This made the Bengals defense look really suspect. Because you
- 47:10Speaker 3: have an 0-4 Miami team. You march into their home
- 47:13Speaker 3: turf and you turn around and you give up 24
- 47:15Speaker 3: points to them, including 14 in the fourth quarter. And
- 47:18Speaker 3: I'm just sitting over here like, bro, you're down your
- 47:22Speaker 3: leading running back. You have a very mid, if not
- 47:26Speaker 3: below average, receiving room. And you have Malik Willis. And
- 47:35Speaker 3: they still stand a shot at winning the game in
- 47:37Speaker 3: the fourth quarter. Like, this Bengals defense looks like crap.
- 47:41Speaker 3: And the Miami Dolphins, keeping it as close as they
- 47:44Speaker 3: did after halftime, kind of made little calls for concern.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Outside of, you know, cool Joe throwing four TDs because
- 47:51Speaker 3: God bless that man in one of my fantasy leagues.
- 47:56Speaker 3: I was like, I kept getting notifications. Joe Burrow TD,
- 47:59Speaker 3: Joe Burrow TD, Joe Burrow TD, Joe Burrow TD. Hell yeah,
- 48:02Speaker 3: keep going, brother. Keep going. Live them up. And then
- 48:06Speaker 3: I'm over here looking at the score and it's this.
- 48:08Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, what happened?
- 48:11Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Miami's 0-5. I think they're the
- 48:14Speaker 2: best amongst them because they had the expectation that they
- 48:16Speaker 2: were going to suck. What's everybody else's excuse?
- 48:20Speaker 3: Well, at the same time, you have to realize these
- 48:23Speaker 3: teams that are legitimately good. And we'll touch on this
- 48:29Speaker 3: a little bit more later, too. I still think the
- 48:31Speaker 3: Raiders are actually pretty decent. They lost to the Niners.
- 48:35Speaker 3: They lost to the Chiefs. They didn't put up any
- 48:36Speaker 3: more than 13 points in all three of those games.
- 48:38Speaker 3: 10 to the Chiefs. They lost by 5 to the Vikings.
- 48:41Speaker 3: But I think the Vikings have a dogshit offense. I
- 48:44Speaker 3: think the only thing that saved them was that Brian
- 48:47Speaker 3: Flores defense. That's what won them that game. And then
- 48:51Speaker 3: they play a very subpar Bengals team. Like, I don't
- 48:54Speaker 3: think this says a lot for Miami. I think it
- 48:57Speaker 3: says a lot about the teams that they play against
- 48:58Speaker 3: because obviously when they play against the good teams, it's
- 49:01Speaker 3: a much wider margin of a loss for them.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's really all it is.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, that's definitely fair. Also, I just listened
- 49:13Speaker 1: to the call of this Jamar Chase. My God, this
- 49:16Speaker 1: guy is great.
- 49:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I told you.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Again, we need more Eric Collins in our lives.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Yeah, he definitely needs to be on the call. Also,
- 49:29Speaker 1: I know we maligned the– I mean, again, we maligned
- 49:33Speaker 1: the Dolphins and everything. I need to know how Malik
- 49:37Speaker 1: Willis got 74 rushing yards, including a 39-yard rush. And
- 49:44Speaker 1: then also, how did Joe Burrow not get sacked once?
- 49:51Speaker 2: Your guess is as good as mine.
- 49:54Speaker 3: I mean, it's against the same defense that allowed for
- 49:57Speaker 3: passing TDs by Burrow.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess that's understandable.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Yeah, they're just not good.
- 50:10Speaker 1: No, they're not good.
- 50:13Speaker 2: I feel like this game is more of an indictment
- 50:15Speaker 2: to Cincinnati more than it is to Miami.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Exactly. Joe Burrow, whenever he's allowed to play football, is
- 50:23Speaker 3: Joe Burrow. And then their defense allows 0-4 teams to...
- 50:29Speaker 3: to 0-5, but the game looks closer than what it
- 50:33Speaker 3: actually should have been. Especially if the Bengals don't fumble
- 50:38Speaker 3: the ball two times.
- 50:41Speaker 2: They fumbled it twice.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they fumbled twice and lost one of them.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Why does it say a third one? It looks like
- 50:50Speaker 2: a fumble.
- 50:50Speaker 3: During a fumble. Because Josh Allen had a recovery of
- 50:54Speaker 3: a fumble.
- 50:56Speaker 2: There's no way you said josh allen it says jonathan.
- 50:58Speaker 3: Allen jonathan allen words excuse me it's a long day
- 51:04Speaker 3: fuck you english is hard i've been speaking it all
- 51:08Speaker 3: day again.
- 51:10Speaker 1: We're nfl fans we're also pokemon vgc players we're supposed
- 51:14Speaker 1: to read team.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Sheets i'm not reading anything tonight anymore they can't read
- 51:22Speaker 3: allegations it's okay.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Yeah that this was the eric collins game but that's
- 51:26Speaker 2: for sure.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Well let's read over to the game that i got
- 51:31Speaker 1: flexed into watching the packers defeating the chicago bears 31
- 51:37Speaker 1: to 7 what the fuck happened here hey this was
- 51:42Speaker 1: the green.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Bay super bowl I want to point something out. During
- 51:45Speaker 2: our predictions, I said, watch this be the game where
- 51:47Speaker 2: the Packers finally show up. What happens? They finally show up.
- 51:51Speaker 1: You did say that, Brandon. We got to give it
- 51:53Speaker 1: to them.
- 51:57Speaker 3: Let's see here.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Yeah, this was not a good game for the Bears quarterback.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Tyson Bajan did not do good. And then the run
- 52:08Speaker 2: game for some reason. Oh, yeah. If Kyle Mungai had
- 52:11Speaker 2: an injury.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Did he have an injury?
- 52:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't play this game.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Let's see. Toe Thumb did not play. Ooh, that's actually
- 52:27Speaker 1: kind of big.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and when you have to rely on DeAndre Swift
- 52:31Speaker 2: to run alone without the safety blanket of a nun guy,
- 52:36Speaker 2: that might be a problem.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Like, why would you? And I think this one is
- 52:41Speaker 3: really indicative of the Bears. Because why would you not
- 52:47Speaker 3: start Case Keenum in this game?
- 52:52Speaker 2: You really don't like Tyson Bajan, don't you?
- 52:55Speaker 3: Tyson Bajan looks like shit! Why would you not start
- 52:58Speaker 3: the clearly more experienced QB who has had a history
- 53:03Speaker 3: of excellent performances as a backup QB?
- 53:05Speaker 2: Because apparently Bajan was the second most backup and Case
- 53:08Speaker 2: Keenum is the third stringer.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Well, fucking switch it for a game. You're allowed to
- 53:13Speaker 3: do that. Like, it's not that hard of a decision. Like, yeah,
- 53:19Speaker 3: they both threw interceptions, but god almighty.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Spacey was worse. Like, Keenan didn't do himself any favors.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Nobody did themselves any favors. Even the coaching staff didn't
- 53:31Speaker 3: do themselves any favors. This was an all-around very, very
- 53:35Speaker 3: poor day for the Bears organization. This was the Green
- 53:38Speaker 3: Bay Super Bowl. Let's be so for real right now.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Hold on. I want to point out something as well,
- 53:43Speaker 2: because this was in the news. Legendary head coach Mike
- 53:45Speaker 2: Dick died before this game.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Yeah, they did have a moment of silence for him, too. So,
- 53:51Speaker 3: you know, it's always sad in any sports world whenever
- 53:54Speaker 3: you lose a clear icon of, you know, what made
- 53:56Speaker 3: your sport great. And he was definitely one of those things.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Speaking of great performances, though, kind of going back on
- 54:04Speaker 3: the Bears a little bit. The defense. The defense. You
- 54:13Speaker 3: let two Green Bay receivers have six receptions each for
- 54:23Speaker 3: 143 and 123. You give up 266 yards of offense
- 54:30Speaker 3: to two receivers. How does that make you feel if
- 54:32Speaker 3: you're a head coach?
- 54:35Speaker 2: Not great, Bob. Yeah, exactly.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Yeah, this was just a really all-around poor day for
- 54:41Speaker 3: the Bears organization. Someone needs to have been strung up
- 54:45Speaker 3: by their toenails or something in the GM's office.
- 54:51Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 54:53Speaker 3: This was bad. What do you think, Talon?
- 55:00Speaker 1: This just reminds me of the Packers-Falcons game when Bajon
- 55:04Speaker 1: and Drake both combined for $ 1. 94 each in Christian Watson
- 55:10Speaker 1: and Matthew Golden. And again, those two are really good
- 55:14Speaker 1: receivers in their own right. If Jordan Love can do
- 55:17Speaker 1: what he did where he's distributing the ball the way
- 55:21Speaker 1: that he was to those two, that helps out, especially
- 55:24Speaker 1: when you're– This is where a, honestly, this game is
- 55:30Speaker 1: an indicative of how bad teams want their starting running
- 55:34Speaker 1: back to actually be there, like a bell cow back.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Marshawn Lloyd, 10 carries for 31 yards. DeAndre Swift, nine
- 55:42Speaker 1: carries for 43 yards.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Like.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Look, I get it. Mnangai was out, but for Green Bay,
- 55:48Speaker 1: it's just looking more and more like what I said
- 55:50Speaker 1: a couple weeks ago. They are missing Josh Jacobs like
- 55:55Speaker 1: no other team is missing their number one back right now,
- 55:58Speaker 1: and it's scary.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Yep. Who knows?
- 56:02Speaker 2: Maybe they trade for a running back.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Can they take 22 in Baltimore?
- 56:06Speaker 3: No.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Oh, well, I tried. Like, who– I mean, I guess, like,
- 56:16Speaker 2: if the Packers are that desperate, because I do think
- 56:18Speaker 2: Matt LaFleur's coaching seat's still on fire, he'll be desperate
- 56:21Speaker 2: enough to trade for a running back to tell himself, hey,
- 56:23Speaker 2: I still got a playoff run in me.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Brandon, what would you rate Matt LaFleur's hot seat right now?
- 56:29Speaker 1: Scale of 1 to 10.
- 56:33Speaker 3: He's probably about an 8 or a 9 right now, honestly. Like,
- 56:37Speaker 3: I don't think this... I think it took the heat
- 56:39Speaker 3: off of him with this win over Chicago. But.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I just don't think he's still doing that great. Again,
- 56:52Speaker 3: I know I've said it a few times already, but
- 56:54Speaker 3: the Bears just didn't show up to play. None of them.
- 56:57Speaker 3: No one did.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Maybe the team did a whole moment of silence.
- 57:03Speaker 3: Yeah, the team was still on the field doing a
- 57:04Speaker 3: moment of silence while he had two receivers racking up
- 57:08Speaker 3: two plus. on them.
- 57:09Speaker 2: So I did the math and they did combine both
- 57:13Speaker 2: Watson and golden combined for 266 rushing, uh, 266 receiving yards.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Yeah. 266 receiving yards between two players.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Absolutely insane.
- 57:24Speaker 2: And then also some of the documents of the bears
- 57:26Speaker 2: and badly missing Caleb Williams as well.
- 57:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Good news. He might be back next week. We'll discuss
- 57:33Speaker 1: that for the week six game. Uh, when we get
- 57:36Speaker 1: to Atlanta, nonetheless, where next?
- 57:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Um how about we stay in the nfc north and
- 57:43Speaker 1: we talk about the minnesota vikings staying at five and
- 57:47Speaker 1: oh defeating the new orleans saints and what the hell
- 57:51Speaker 1: tyler shuck had under 100 yards you all know we're.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Talking about that i asked for i was forced started
- 57:58Speaker 2: a fantasy and i was like i don't like the
- 57:59Speaker 2: fact he started against the vikings defense because i'm lying
- 58:01Speaker 2: for us this dude put 90 blitz right on tyler shuck.
- 58:07Speaker 1: That just sounds like Brian Flores.
- 58:08Speaker 3: First down, blitz.
- 58:11Speaker 1: First down, blitz. Second down, blitz. Third down, more blitz.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Fourth down, more blitz, but drop the safety.
- 58:22Speaker 1: All we're missing is going to... It's a blitz, right?
- 58:27Speaker 1: Is the Jewish dessert?
- 58:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Yeah, we're almost there when it comes to a Brian
- 58:37Speaker 1: Flores-led defense. That he'll blitz so much, you'll get a blitz.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Also, the Vikings offense finally shows up today. Did they, though? Yes,
- 58:48Speaker 2: they did. Kyler Murray actually had a pretty good game.
- 58:51Speaker 2: You know, very efficient on the passing. 24 for 30, 229.
- 58:54Speaker 2: And then, obviously, the one touchdown to Justin Jefferson in
- 58:57Speaker 2: triple coverage.
- 58:58Speaker 3: That was a crazy fucking touchdown. That was.
- 59:01Speaker 1: That really was.
- 59:02Speaker 3: First of all, I think that was a very poor
- 59:04Speaker 3: decision by Kyler Murray because that definitely looked like a
- 59:06Speaker 3: fuck it, JJ's down there somewhere throw. but it really.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Worked out he was triple covered.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Like any decent QB you not stop throwing a triple
- 59:17Speaker 3: coverage but at the same time fuck it he's down
- 59:19Speaker 3: there somewhere also to counterpoint the counterpoint Nova's statement here
- 59:25Speaker 3: yes Kyler Murray put up a decent stat line But
- 59:30Speaker 3: if you're over here playing against this Brian Flores defense
- 59:34Speaker 3: that is clearly just on high alert for the first
- 59:40Speaker 3: five games of the season and holds you to 20%
- 59:44Speaker 3: on third down conversions, like, that defense is tired. That
- 59:52Speaker 3: is a, Tyler Shuck over here with a 96 passing
- 59:55Speaker 3: yard game. I think it was also playing with a
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: broken hand, too. That offensive line is exhausted. They're getting
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: a Tyler Shuck. They're making him go three and out. Therefore,
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: that defense is right back out there on the field. Like,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: there's only so much you can do, because if you
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: think about it, there's not like what NFL defense outside
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: the Brian Flores effect, apparently. is able to just sit
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: on that field for just getting ran on like they
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: have constantly and constantly and constantly. I think this was
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: kind of indicative to how bad New Orleans actually is.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Yeah, which is more indicative to how they beat the
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Ravens since then. I really just don't understand.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: Well, that was a trap game, and y'all fell for it, Hook, Line,
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: and Sinker. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: ha ha ha ha ha!
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Also, I have to point out, Jordan Addison was injured
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: for the Vikings.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Instead, that makes it even worse for the Saints.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: That makes it even worse.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: I'm just sitting here going like, what the hell are
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: y'all doing over here?
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Evidently, figuring out ways to not win in the Superdome.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: New ways are invented every day.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a three-game homestand for the Saints, and
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: they lost all of them. Jesus.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Yeah. The other thing that I'll at least say about
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: this game, I mean, again, yes, Saints lose. They, again,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: I've had my fun at poking at the Saints.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Aaron Jones.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: How did Justin Jefferson have a negative 11-yard rush?
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Quick play sack behind the line.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Of course it never works.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: Well, it is. It was a pitch to a receiver
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: out of the backfield, and Brian Flores said, nah, bitch,
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: I got you. I watch tape, too.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: No, wait, no, isn't the defensive coordinator for the Saints...
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Brandon Staley.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: Oh, not the Saints. So this whole thing about reading
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: we mentioned earlier.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Yeah, brother, it's been a long fucking day. It's been
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: a long day. By the time we get done with
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: this podcast, I'll have probably been gone on for 16 hours.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: So I'm a little tired. So anybody who's listening to
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: this is going to have to forgive me. Because, Jesus,
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: my eyes don't work tonight.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: And then call Brandon's company if you need insurance later
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: this year when open enrollment opens.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Please don't.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Please don't.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on and get through some of these
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: other games a little bit quicker. Cleveland Jets.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Who had the Jets winning this game? None of us.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: None of us.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Also, there's a new Aaron Glenn meme from this game.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Is it where he's dangling the challenge flag? Yep.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Oh, that's where that came from?
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Wow, that's kind of funny, not going to lie.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: That's pretty funny.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they also played in the rain here. He started
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: for New Jersey. It was raining.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Yep, it sure was. Braylon Allen, 116 yards, rushing in
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: a TD for the Jets. Hey, Gino Smith, 182 in
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: a TD.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: How about David Bailey on that defense? Number two overall
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: pick for the Jets.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: That man was everywhere.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that he was evidently. And I mean, Garrett Wilson,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: seven receptions for 104 and a touchdown. I mean, honestly,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: he's like.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: He's what?
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: He's like the only good thing about the Jets.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Yeah. And like, so where was this Cleveland team that
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: we kind of taught it on lately? Because in this game,
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: this I know we said that this Jets defense had
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: been showing up a lot. I'm not really going to
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: talk about talk much on this, you know, for the
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: sake of time. Deshaun Watson got sacked eight times.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Jeez.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: He got sacked eight times. I mean, agreed. Like, they
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: tried their best to keep him in, like, you know,
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: he who should not be named tried his best to
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: keep him in the game.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: But also, the rushing attack also didn't help either, because
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: look at Quishon Jenkins. He got held to 44 yards.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Yep. And Watson had 40 yards rushing as well.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I bet you a lot of it was just, like,
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: broken by last place because they kept covering Denzel Boston and,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: you know, and the like. But also, Casey Concepcion, he
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: took a hard hit from Minka Fitzpatrick.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: And Minka was... Yeah, no, that was a dirty hit.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: That was a fucking dirty hit. I don't know if
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: you've seen that, Talon.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: There was a dirty hit in this game?
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Yes, Minka Fitzpatrick to Casey Concepcion.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I will have to watch that after we finish this
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: podcast because admittedly, I don't think I saw that, but
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: evidently if you guys are saying it, I will believe it.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: And yeah, this kind of... this game at least for
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: the week it kind of spat in the face of
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: my deshaun watson is returning to houston form claim that
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: i did last week that made that literally honestly nova
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: i don't know if you heard but uh one of
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: my cars mysteriously caught on fire uh a couple.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Of days ago it's a miracle of god isn't it
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: i did share i did share that dirty hit in
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: our in our chat as well um But yeah, no,
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: this is, I'll give Tatum if he wants to just
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: look at that real quick.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: Oh, I think we're going to look at it right
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: in front of us.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I'm going to look at it and, oh! Yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: there's some laundry on the field for that one. Oh, man.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: And then you look at the behavior that Minka Fitzpatrick
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: just does after it.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: He was like, what did I do? I didn't do nothing.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he's like, who, me?
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Why? Oh, we have another egregious penalty coming up way
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: later down the line we're going to talk about.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but for right now, let's keep Brandon's excitement up
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: and let's talk about his New England Patriots. Hold on
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: a second. I need to go grab my bagpipes because
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: he's going to be Kevin Wilds right now and go
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: through the door of destiny while I'm playing the bagpipes.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: I thought you hated Nick Wright.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: No, that's Kevin Wilds, not Nick Wright.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: So, dear Drake May, here is my official apology for him.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Because where the.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Fuck has this man been all season?
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Every time I look now, so like earlier on, like
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: one of my leagues, I referenced Joe Burrow, like TD, TD, TD.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Where has this Drake May have been? This man had
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: a five.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Touchdown day against the Raiders.
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: 26 for 34, 374 passing yards, four passing TDs, no picks,
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: no fumbles, 25 rushing yards, and a TD.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: This is what beating Buffalo does to a team.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Where has this man been? Okay, not only that, but
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: we lost several good starting players to injury before this
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: game early on through the season and in this game.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: And we were also down five, not count them, the
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels magic number, five corners for this entire game.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: We were down five corners this game. And we held
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: them to 38 rushing yards.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Where I need to keep pointing this out.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Where's Ashen Chenty?
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Carrying the ball 10 times for 27 yards. Like the
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: only good thing about this offense for Vegas was Brock Bowers,
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: but that's kind of a giving, given, you know, how
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: he's been performing since he's been drafted because he's really
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: good tight end. Um, But where has this team been
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: all season long? Because this was an incredible performance. I
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: genuinely thought, like I said, I know I picked New
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: England to win this game because I just in good
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: conscience could not pick against them. Obviously so, because God almighty.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: But then, like, what happened? Did we finally find our
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: offensive identities? Our offensive line finally stood up and only allowed,
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: you know, Drake to get sacked one time?
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Excuse me.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Like, we only had eight penalties that entire game. We
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: were two for three on red zone. I'm sorry, four
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: for five on red zone possessions. Six for 12 on
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: third downs. 29 first downs to their 16. Like, we
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: dominated this game from start to finish. The last points
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: I got was garbage time points. This might as well
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: have just been a 45-10 game if not for the
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: garbage time.
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: Like.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: I mean, it's not really garbage time because, like, Fernando
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Mendoza took his first snaps in the NFL.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: Yeah, in garbage time. Yeah, the game was done. Yeah,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: that's why he got the snaps. That is the definition
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: of garbage time is whenever you put everybody in because
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: there's second, third and fourth strings on the field because
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: the game is lost. You might as well give reps
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: to some people who actually need it and deserve it.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Like Fernando Mendoza, six for eight, 48 yards. He actually
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: looked kind of good on his reads. That man had
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: some pretty quick check downs, too, and actually got some
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: decent yardage out.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Of it, too.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: I'm sitting here like, damn, son, keep slinging the ball.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Maybe you'll be better than Kirk Cousins one day.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: We're not doing this already, are we?
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: We might be doing it.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: But yeah, but no, like on top of that, we
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: also lost Travion Henderson for a couple of weeks because
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: he got injured again with a right high ankle sprain.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: So that's probably going to be at least three weeks
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: for one of our dual threats out of the backfield.
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: I was going to say, Brandon, and again, sorry to
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: have interrupted you there, but are you sure it's a
- 1:10:50Speaker 6: high ankle sprain or is it a low ankle sprain
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: or is it an unconventional ankle sprain because it's neither
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: high nor low?
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: No, this one's definitely a high. So it's definitely a
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: high ankle sprain. This is not the Lamar Jackson injury. So,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: you know, but I digress. No, honestly, like, I really
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: hope Drake May keeps proving me wrong because it seems
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: like every time I say, hey, I think this is
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: going to happen, I've been proven wrong this season so far.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: I would like for this to continue to happen. I
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: would like this very much. Maybe we trade for a
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: running back to kind of replace Travion Henderson. I don't know.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: I'm saying we keep putting up 45 a game.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: Now you know how I felt the last two weeks.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: I'm totally down because Demario Douglas has been his favorite
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: target lately.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: I mean, Pop Douglas impressed me when I went up
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: there last year.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: I was about to mention, I think I saw Matt
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Collins in IR.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: Yep, Matt Collins is also on IR as well.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Great. So that's probably why.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: Yeah, we took a lot of injuries right now. Not
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: only that, but Will Campbell also has an MCL sprain. Henderson, again,
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: he's out multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain. We
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: lost some pretty good players to an injury during this game. Because, again,
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: we had one, two, three, four, five corners questionable. Will
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: Kimball's now doubtful. Trevion's doubtful. Obviously, A.J. Brown's on IR.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: Matt Collins got put on IR for a calf injury.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: We lost Reggie Gilliam, who's one of our fullbacks. We
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: lost a guard to injured reserve for a thigh injury. Like,
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: we are turning into the 49ers with our injury report lately,
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: but we can still keep putting up 45 a game.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: I think I'll be okay with that, win or lose.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: I'm just kidding.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: I really want us to win with 45. Don't believe
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: anything I just said.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, the only thing I can say is
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: that it looks like next week will be a good
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: game for most of your guys to miss and get
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: healthy on.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: But.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't... I was.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: Just going to say... No, you're good. I was just
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: going to say one more thing. But yeah, no, I think...
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: I definitely think next week would probably be okay because
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: it's just the Jets, even though the Jets do look good. But....
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: A.J.
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: Brown has a chance to return to practice this week,
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: so I'm hoping he comes back to practice. And if
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: he does, we may have A.J. Brown for the Jets.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: I mean, that'd be good.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: The Jets? The Jets. The Jets.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: Well, let's jet on to one of the final 1
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: o'clock games. The Steelers beating the Colts. And admittedly, this
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: was a game that I picked wrong. I really thought
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Indianapolis could come in there and maybe pull an upset
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: out on Pittsburgh. Did I anticipate Jalen Warren going for
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: 188 scrimmage yards in this game? No, I did not.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: My opponent benched him in fantasy.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: No, yeah, you could say that, but I had to
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: face Taylor Warren in fantasy. I didn't like it. But also,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: I'm going to go off on the Colts. I mean,
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: I know I'm supposed to hate the Steelers as a
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: Ravens fan, but I don't see any reason to hate
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: the Steelers. I mean, they just did what they had
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: to do. But, like, the Colts, they have no defense.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: Their offense is average. I mean, look at the Steelers.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: They put Jonathan Taylor on a clinic. 15 rushes, 45 yards.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: Daniel Jones was just mid. And then that defense, man.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Good God. It's terrible.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Let's take a look at this defense. Akeem Davis-Gaither, seven tackles.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: DeForest Buckner. I mean, only one quarterback hit on Buckner?
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: What?
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: What?
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: They had two quarterback hits the whole game. How do
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: you do that? I get it. I get it's Aaron Rodgers,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: but wow.
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. It was not a good time for the
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: Indianapolis defense. It really was not because Saul Skarner only
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: had two tackles as well. Like where, where was he at?
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: What else did he do?
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Wasn't DK Metcalf just trash-talking Toscar did it the whole time.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: DK Metcalf had one catch for 11 yards. He needs
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: to shut the fuck up, too.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: I see DK having three catches for 12 yards.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: So, effectively, both Toscar.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sorry. I was looking at rushing. So, we're
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: going to go back to this reading thing we talked
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: about earlier. We... God, I need to go to bed.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: That's what I need to do. I promise to all
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: of our listeners, I may be an ESL kid, but
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: I promise you I can read better than what I
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: have this entire fucking podcast, okay? Because, holy shit.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Again, once the schedules clear up and all that, it'll
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: be much easier for all of us. But, yeah, no, um...
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: I mean, good game for Pittsburgh.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: And now... Frymuth had two touchdowns.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Frymuth had two touchdowns. And now we can move quickly
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: and talk about the real game that we really want
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: to talk about. How the fuck was there a tie
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: in this? Brandon, Nova, one of you two, please. Please
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: go ahead. Go first on this one. Just please.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: No, Brandon deserves this one because he knows about the Giants.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: So... Let me pull up my messages from my former
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: roommate who's a Giants fan. I messaged him Sunday at
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: 5 or 6 p.m. my time. Y'all got bailed out
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: by Quinn's bad clock management. Holy shit. He goes, no,
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: they actually got bailed out by Zavada being really, really bad.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: We kick a field goal there and it's just GG's,
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: but nah, let's just let Scadaboo fumble instead, I guess.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: That's the John Harbaugh experience, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: Oh, God. But, I mean, Jameis Winston threw the ball
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: 54 times. When was the last time he did that?
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: I know the game went into overtime, but still.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: Also, the game shouldn't even have went into overtime. The
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Commanders were, like, brilliantly winning because Jaden Daniels finally showed up.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: I didn't know he was going to be back in
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: this game.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: So, the one thing I really want to point out here,
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: and I am making sure that I'm actually reading this correctly, okay?
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels went 17 for 25, 199 yards, no TDs,
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: no picks, right? He didn't have any fumbles either. I
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: want to make sure that I'm reading this correctly when
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: I also see that he was the leading rusher for
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: the team with nine carries for 103 and two scores.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you're reading that correctly, Brandon.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: There were two of those broken plays that allowed Jaden
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: Daniels a lot of running room.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: Still though how are you out pacey like at what
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: point in time do you just have to sit here
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: and think man maybe we really just suck with jayden
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: daniels i sat with the dan quinn that's like that's
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: literally like watching an atlanta falcons game and you see
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: two warming up on the sideline and you know the
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: game's over.
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: I'll wait until later about that.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: We'll set you up for that one for a little bit.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: But no, I don't understand what happened here. Malik Nabors
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: and Isaiah Likely were obviously the stars of the Giants.
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: They had all three of Jameis' touchdowns between the two,
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: and they combined for 215 receiving yards between all of
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: his targets. And I'm just like, what are we doing here?
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: How did this game How did this game even evolve?
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: This was just bad coaching from both sides. Because, again,
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: gotta make an Atlanta reference because I'm sorry it's the
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: first thing that comes to my mind. I promise it's
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: not intentional. In the Patriots-Falcons Super Bowl, Atlanta kicks a
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: field goal before Matt Ryan gets strip-sacked by Dante Hightower.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Atlanta wins that Super Bowl. Dan Quinn has them do
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: anything else, include watch the clock, and Washington probably wins
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: this game.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Okay, so can I make a rebuttal on that one?
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Yes, of course.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: Okay, so first off, the Dante Hightower strip sack happened
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: when the score was, I think, 28-9, right? It was
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: a third and one, and Tevin Coleman had just gone
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: out with an injury, and Devontae Freeman didn't pick up
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: the blitz because if he did pick up the blitzing
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: high tower, he would have hit, I think it would
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: have been either Taylor Gaber or Aldrick Robinson on like
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: a big, deep post route where he just burned Malcolm Butler.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: That's number one. Number two, we could have kicked a
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: field goal with, under, I think, like three and a
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: half minutes to go, but on a third down where
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: Matt Ryan completed a pass to Mohamed Sanu, that's where
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Jake Matthews put Chris Long in a chokehold and got
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: a holding penalty. That's number two. And number three, on
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: that last drive, there actually is audio of Dan Quinn
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: telling Shanahan to call some running plays because our defense
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: is gassed.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: Correct. Also, 28-12, Patriots were trailing in the fourth quarter.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: Third and one from the Atlanta 35 with eight and
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: a half minutes remaining.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Okay, so it was 28-12.
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: 28-12 in the fourth quarter, third and one from Atlanta 35,
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: eight and a half to go. I'm just saying, obviously
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: we will never know, but even with Dan Quinn's audio,
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: to do that, at what point in time do you
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: just call a timeout and be like, hey, Fuck you, OC.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: Listen to me.
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: I mean, that's called being a commander. But he's not
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: a commander here. And I actually do want to talk
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: about that final play. Because it took me a while
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: to dig for this information. Because obviously we're all blaming
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Dan Quinn for this one. But there are people out
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: here saying it's also Jaden Daniels' fault. And I actually
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: pulled this up courtesy of Ari Mirov in MySportsUpdate. And
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: on The Edge with Micah Parsons on Bleacher Report, Micah
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: Parsons' quote says... Jaden Daniels probably cost my man Dan
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Quinn his job, and I'm a big Jaden Daniels fan. Respectfully,
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: we get coached so much on these situations. I'm a
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: defensive player, and this shit is programmed to.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: Me.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I mean, I'll have Brandon say his thoughts on it,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: but I can understand why Jaden Daniels Nova is getting
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: blame on that because... I mean, look, it's a three-person
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: blame job in this. It is Jaden Daniels. It is
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Dan Quinn. It is David Blau, the offensive coordinator, because, again,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: you have 50 seconds left. You do that first running play,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: and then you waste 40 seconds, which, again, not saying
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: that's a bad thing. I mean, teams will waste like
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: about 30, 40. We've all played Madden before, so we've
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: all done the two-clock mode before, four-minute offense. We've all
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: been there. But whatever that play call was, from David
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: Blau to Jaden Daniels, where, according to Dan Quinn, it's
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: either an overhead throw or it's a clock. And last
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: time I checked, an overhead throw or a clock is
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: not take the ball, run to your left, go down,
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: and then... wait about three seconds to realize, oh, shit,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: we don't have a timeout. Like, you even heard Kenny
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: Albert and Jonathan Vilma, and I've said my thoughts on
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Jonathan Vilma.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: That was Chris Myers. That was Chris Myers.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: Oh, it was Chris Myers? My apologies to Chris Myers.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: Kenny Albert was at Green Bay.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: My apologies to Chris, but Chris Myers and Jonathan Vilma,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: like you hear them say they don't have a time.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: What are they doing? Like the broadcasters are like, what
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: the fuck?
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: And that's also the perfect soundbite we could use too.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: If only we had time.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: No, because then that'd be a delay of game penalty,
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: 10 second runoff, game over, ends in a tie.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: Sad.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: Actually, Brandon, can you say that one more time, please?
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: If only we had time.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: That was loud.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I was trying to, I wanted to get Brandon
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: talking and then just do the gong where it's like, oh, sorry,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: you're all out of time. We'll be right back after
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: this commercial break.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: And guess what?
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: This is not the third time I don't know how
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: this happened. Can we talk about how all four NFC
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: East teams have done a blunder like this with the clock?
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: All four of them? The Cowboys against the Ravens. And
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: then just this week, we have Philadelphia, New York, and
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: Washington with the same thing.
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: You might call me crazy on this one, Nova, but
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: this one should be my ruffle in the feathers. I
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: don't think the Giants botched the clock.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I don't think they did. I mean, yes, they were
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: in field goal range, but they were trying to get
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: closer because their kicker was named Zadaro.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: Yeah, he missed three kicks.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: Oh, Zavada.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: Yeah, Zavada.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he missed three kicks. So I understand them trying
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: to get closer. It was an overcast day. It was rainy.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: So I understand that. And then, of course, that's also,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: you know, Cam Scadaboo, hold on to the fucking football. Um,
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: but yeah, no, I don't think the giants did that
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: or poor clock management in this game. The commanders. Oh God.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: They say, said to the Cowboys and the Eagles. After
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: I said NFC East, where we deliver a loss to
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: an AFC contender in eight seconds or less, or it's
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: free and said, hold my fucking beer. And I don't
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: even drink, but I needed one after watching that game.
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: I think Dan Quinn did too, because from what I
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: kept reading, he just kind of stood out on the
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: middle of the field and just zoned out into outer space,
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: trying to figure out what happened.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: I think they even said he busted his headset.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: Yeah, he was mad.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: Oh, he definitely busted his headset.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: But like, I get people trying to blame Jaden Daniels
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: for this. I mean, even his post-game reaction was like,
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: it was all casual. It's like, he wasn't that worried
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: about it. Like, I understand thinking about it in the
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: long term, it's like, yeah, this happens, but I know
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: what we find. It's like, is this really just an
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: overreaction to Jaden Daniels? Are we all just criminalizing arguably
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: one of the best high school, college quarterbacks?
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: I mean, again, you have to, the main thing, Nova,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: and again, we'll say it as fans, we'd say it
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: if we were coaches, it's that situational football and evidently
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: something blanked in three guys' minds to where situational football
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: did not occur the correct way. And again, if this
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: game would have ended in a tie because Washington's kicker,
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: was it Drew Stevens? If he would have missed the game-winning... Oh, wait,
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: hold on.
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: It says he missed a PAT.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, he missed an extra point, Brandon.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: R.R.P., Maybe that's why. Maybe that's why he's right this way.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Again, like, this was as.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: Look, it's 2026. I don't care. I'll say. This was
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: as retarded a finish by an NFL team as I've
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: ever seen.
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: It definitely was not good. It definitely was not... Was
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: not good at all.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: The only winner of this game was Cam Scadaboo.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: And that's... Being generous.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Again, it says something when the opposing team, their defense is.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: celebrating a tie.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Just be glad you didn't lose.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: Again, we will be talking about this until the cows
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: come home. But, yeah, I think– and, again, I– I
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: second Micah Parsons' comments on his podcast that you said, Nova. Like,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Dan Quinn's a good– okay, let me say this in
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: a way that won't be controversial. Dan Quinn is a
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: good coach, but he's not a good head coach.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: And I think this man saved the Dallas Cowboys defense
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: once upon a time, and now look what's happened.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: Exactly. He's a good coach, but he's not a good
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: head coach.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: I'll close that by saying it's a miracle they went
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: to the NFC Championship game in their first year with
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Jaden Daniels.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: Brandon, let's start talking about the late window.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Let's talk about The 105, baby.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: The Broncos and the Chargers. How about that, Brandon?
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: The fucking Chargers, man. I want, God, I want Justin
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: Herbert to look good so bad. And instead, he just
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: keeps getting put on a Mickey Mouse clubhouse fraud watch.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: I freaking hate that meme, by the way. I freaking
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: hate it.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: I'm glad somebody's seen it.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: I've seen glimpses of it. I am not a fan.
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: It's like, what are we doing with our lives? That's silly.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: What is it with the stupid hot dog song?
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: Yes. Oh, my God.
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: Dead people are going to recognize what that says. This
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: looks like a battle of the mid-cubies. That's what this
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: really looked like. Justin Herbert, 14 for 24, 121, one TD,
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: one pick.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: I think he also got strip sacked, too.
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: Bo Nix, 16 for 27, 123, and a TD. I mean.
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: I have wars for both teams. I have wars for both.
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: You can go on, Brandon. I just have wars for both.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: Herbert fumbled twice. Lost one, recovered one. Bo Nix fumbled twice.
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: Lost one. And I'm just like, this just looked like
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: a very poor offensive performance, and it just so happened
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: that Denver performed slightly enough to be the better team, including,
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: and I know this is what Nova's going to say,
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: yet another fourth quarter comeback. Yet again.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: It's a little less impressive than the others. I mean.
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: It's less impressive because the Chargers were already 0-4.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: But also, as you said, Bo Nix didn't have a
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: good game. It's actually something I want to play over
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: the Broncos. What did they exactly do in the offseason?
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: What did they do? Jim Harbaugh made the team worse.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: No, for the Broncos.
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: Oh, that happened too. Bo Nix is still a mid QB.
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: No, what did they do in the offseason? The Broncos.
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: Got worse. I'm waiting on someone to dispute that answer
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: because they definitely look worse than what they did last year.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: I love how I'm trying to go into a transition
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: and everybody's missing what I'm trying to say. Okay, I'll
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: just say it. They traded a first-round pick to Jalen Waddle.
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: What is he doing?
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: Two catches for 19 yards.
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: He's doing nothing in his offense. Like, what'd you trade
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: a first-round pick for? Nothing?
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: It's really hard to function in an offense that's already
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: not functioning. Like, I don't know. I said it last
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: year because, and see, here's the thing. I'm going to
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: kind of go back on last year, too. Because people
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: made this argument for New England, but they didn't make
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: it for Denver. They both had very similar strength of schedules,
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: especially when meeting up with each other in the ACC.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: They were both good teams compared to the teams that
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: they played, and the better team won out of the AFCC.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Either team would have gotten steamrolled by Seattle.
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: Unless the Denver Broncos are going to argue about their
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: devil magic.
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't care about that. No, Seattle, Kenneth Walker
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: was winning that Super Bowl. Kenneth Walker was winning that
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: Super Bowl.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: No, but I'm inclined to agree with Brandon on that one. Really?
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: Despite how good that Broncos defense was? I mean, yeah,
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: you got me there. But the thing I guess by
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: Josh Allen.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: Well, you also have to think about, you also have
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: to think about how good our defense was too. Like
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: we were a top five defense going into that Super Bowl.
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: Like so was Denver. If they're going to drive holes
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: through us the size of a semi for Kenneth Walker,
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: then they were going to do the same thing to Denver.
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: That Seattle roster was kind of stacked. It wasn't like
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: Philadelphia Eagles versus the Patriots Super Bowl stack with Nick
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: Foles under center, but it was a pretty stacked Seattle roster.
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: This team looks nothing like the team that we saw
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: last season.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: It really isn't. Everybody's catching on and saying that the
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: Broncos are the biggest frauds, but I wouldn't call it
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: a fraud watch yet until... later down the line when
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: they have to face the Chiefs again. Because that, I think,
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: is going to determine a lot. Or better yet, next week.
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: We're going to talk about, like, the first prediction for
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: Week 6. Like, we might have to talk about that
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: being important for the Broncos. But, yeah, shifting my point
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: to the Chargers, this is my Ruffling the Feathers. This
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: is the worst team in the league.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: I mean, that's a good one because... I don't think it's.
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: The Dolphins, as that was expected. Same thing with the Titans,
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: as that was expected. What's the Chargers' excuse?
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: Excuse me.
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: I mean, if you ask their head coach, he doesn't know.
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: And you want to know something else as well? Jim
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: Harbaugh has put the Chargers 0-5 for the first time
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: in quite some time. Even Mike McCoy, Anthony Lynn, Brandon Staley,
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: they did not have the Chargers 0-5. Jim Harbaugh was
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: the one that would do it.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Brandon, did you ever think you'd hear that being a
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: factual statement?
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: About Jim Harbaugh? Yeah, he's not really been a good
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: head coach since he had Colin Kaepernick in San Francisco.
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: Oh, don't remind me about that NFC title game.
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: But in terms of an offensive performance this season so
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: far between Miami and LA for the Chargers, mind you,
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: the Chargers have been the better team offensively. They have.
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: but neither team's really showing it, I guess. I don't know, man.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: No, I think the Chargers are worse. I legitimately think
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: the Chargers are worse.
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: No, like, go look up the stats. The Chargers are
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: actually better on offense than the Dolphins have been this season.
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: It's not by a very large margin, but the Chargers
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: have been better than the Dolphins have been offensively. And it's...
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: They both suck. I still think the Dolphins are worse,
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: but that may be just AFC bias.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: That's what it is! That's my hot take. I imagine
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: Front Office gets cleaned unless Dean Spanos decides to keep
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: Jim Harbaugh for some reason.
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: I mean, he very well might, but Let's stay on
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: the West Coast because.
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: Now we move to the 425 window specifically.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and we talk about the Lions and the Cardinals.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: This one should be very quick to talk about. The
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: Lions are good. Jameer Gibbs is still crazy. And the
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: Cardinals suck.
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: The Cardinals... Oh, excuse me.
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: The day is catching up with me. The Cardinals have
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: Trey McBride. That is the team.
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: Congratulations.
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: And I thought this was going to be a lot
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: closer because we saw how bad the Detroit defense is.
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: I really thought this would be closer, too. I really did.
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: But no, apparently the Lions' offense is just too strong.
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: It helps when you're playing a really bad opponent.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: Yeah, a Monroe State Brown fumbling twice wasn't on my
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: bingo card, though.
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: No, it wasn't on my bingo card either. Again, Jameer Gibbs, though,
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: getting a buck 51 on the ground on 25 carries.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: I mean, that's impressive. I know he had a crazy
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: catch where like Goff, I think, avoided like what, like
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: three sacks or something like that and still found Gibbs
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: up the, what would it be, like the far sideline
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: or the near sideline?
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: Yeah. I didn't watch this game highlight, so I honestly
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: could not tell you.
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: I mean, either way.
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: I mean, it was.
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: I mean, it was a game. I mean, I think
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: it was like 31-7 at one point. And... Yeah, it just...
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: It was not good. I mean, Detroit, it was their
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: get-right game. Meanwhile.
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: Don't they have the worst defense in the league right
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: now by a mile?
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: Uh....
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: Because I saw a random tweet that was like all
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: the defensive stats were last.
- 1:38:12Speaker 3: So it's week five of 2020.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: No.
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: Fuck you. That's not correct. Six hours ago. Lions are
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: the worst ranked defense led by the Cowgirls. Lions defense.
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: is averaging 404.4 yards per game, allowing 20 total TDs.
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: Dallas is allowing 395.4 yards per game.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'm looking at it right now. And then, hey,
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: look at that. Brandon, New England at 296.2. You guys
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: are the fifth best.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: I wasn't going to say that, even though I'm staring
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: right at it. But, you know.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: But, I mean, hey, I mean, good for New England
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: on that. And, yeah, Detroit is horrible. But let's talk
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: about the last game.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: This was the game of the week.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it was definitely in the game of the week.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: And it was, you know, honestly, I just don't remember.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: We didn't even talk about that in the Philadelphia Jacksonville game.
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: There were ejections before the game even started for the
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: Jacksonville Philadelphia game. And then there was an ejection in
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: this game.
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: Yeah, because Drake Greenwald hit a defensive player after he
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: was like taunting him or something. He hit him without
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: his helmet.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: Yes, he hit him without his helmet on.
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: Which, by the way, he did appeal that ejection because
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: he would have been suspended for the Washington game. And
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: that suspension was, in fact, upheld. So he will not
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: be playing against Washington this week.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Good.
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: Also, Brock Purdy threw his own first interception of this
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: season so far.
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: No, he's thrown a pick before.
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: I thought he was pickless this game.
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: No, he wasn't. He was sackless until today.
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: Oh, he's got two picks.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: Yeah, for the first time this season, Brock Purdy has
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: been sacked.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: For the first time, Brock Purdy has been sacked.
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: Three times.
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: And the dark side defense still kind of didn't show up.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: No, but what I will say, though, is what happened
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: on this last play with Cooper Cup? Like, was he
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: out of bounds?
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: Apparently, he was short of the line to gain, and
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: they couldn't overturn it.
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: I actually have not seen that, so let me look
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: that up.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: I've seen it, and there's been arguments saying that the
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: refs were favoring San Francisco this week because they didn't
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: want to see Seahawks continue this game, or that he
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: didn't extend the ball enough before he went out of bounds,
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: something like that. It's a measurement kind of ruling.
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: Whoa. Hold on. How was he short? Talon, have you
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: seen it?
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: You might want to post it.
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I've got you.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: Yeah, let me... I.
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: Don't... This looks like a first down to me.
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: I mean, if it wasn't for the refs.
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: The refs are blind then. Because I see grass in
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: between them toes.
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: They ruled this one short.
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: Fucking hell.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that... The right foot is.
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: I.
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: Don't see it touching.
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I see green grass in between those.
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: Look at the community notes. Look at the community notes.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: NFL sideline rules spot the ball at the forward point
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: where it crosses the sideline plane while in possession, not
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: by foot position alone. Replay found. No clear evidence Coupe
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: reached the line to gain first, upholding the short call.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: Why does it just sound like it was written via AI?
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: Because it is. Rolls the spot at the forward point
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: where it crosses the sideline plane. There's still no proof.
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: That looks like it crosses to me, but whatever. It's fine.
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think San Francisco got off lucky.
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: They did, but it's fine.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: And guess what? They're still the best team in the league.
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: Yeah, especially if you listen to Stephen A. Smith, because
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: he has them at number one on his A list.
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: It was San Francisco, Buffalo, Minnesota, Baltimore.
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: And then.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: Oh, crap. Who did he put at number five? I
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: can't remember.
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: Oh, never mind. No. Hang on. I got another view
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: for you. Yeah, no. This one makes full sense as
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: to why it was ruled short.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: Okay, let's see.
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: Yeah, this was a much better view. Going with that
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: community note and combining it with that video, this makes
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: full sense how he was ruled short.
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: Where exactly? Keep going. Was it where his body was? Oh, here.
- 1:43:20Speaker 5: Maybe?
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: Where do you see it?
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: Because if his body is already going out of bounds
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: and that's where they're ruling it, his head and shoulders
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: are clearly about a yard out of bounds before he
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: even starts reaching.
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: Yeah, like his forward momentum is definitely taking him out
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: of bounds. So, honestly, yeah, I think that's a good
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: call on the refs.
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: The initial view I had, it was not a good call.
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: But this one, this one's a lot more clear. I
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: definitely think Cooper Cup was short of a first down.
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: I think that is correct.
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you. Apart from that, the only bad notes
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: I have for the Seahawks is that, first of all,
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: Sam Darnold's still– inconsistent like the two picks and the
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: one touchdown and then also i think the only reason
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: it came down to that you know short call was
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: just jackson smith and jacob dropped a very good pass
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: from darnold and it was like 55 seconds left.
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: On that note seattle has to learn to play football
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: without jsn.
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: Hey i guess you need to bring you guys up
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: to question uh you know obviously since of course kevin
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: walker's not on the team i'm not gonna ask about
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: him do you think they missed zach charbonnet.
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: I definitely think they miss a good run game, for sure.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: Because remember, Charbonnet's still an IR.
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: I would agree with that. I think they're missing Charbonnet
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: right now. But honestly, I mean, that's the end of
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: the 4 o'clock window, so let's talk about the Sunday
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: night game. Yeah. This one is going to be a
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: lot of fun for one of us and a lot
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: of not fun for the other.
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: You know, I'm just going to sit back and listen
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: to you two first.
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: No, I'm going to call you out first because you
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: said we wouldn't win with Tyler Huntley.
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: Y'all did not deserve to win that game. Atlanta absolutely
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: fucking choked that game, and I will die on my own.
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: And also, we also should point out there, Nova, remember
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: when we did the picks last week, Brandon used his asterisk.
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and he lost.
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: Well, wait a minute. He picked Baltimore.
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: If Lamar was playing. That was not the case.
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I said if Lamar was playing, then Baltimore wins.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: But if Tyler Huntley started, then I picked Atlanta to win.
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: You got to take the L there.
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: Okay, then I was wrong.
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: Then I'm wrong.
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: Brandon was 44-34.
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: And....
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: Won on the picks. I gave Braden an extra win
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: by accident.
- 1:46:09Speaker 3: I mean, we can keep the win. It's fine.
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: Oh my god. I'm not arguing that one. Anyway, I
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: like to start with getting the negatives out of the way,
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: which is like our defense giving away soft coverages again.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: I can't come up with how many times Drake London
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: was just wide open zones. But also, we... Why did
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: we pay Mark Andrews?
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: Why did you not keep Isaiah Likely?
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: Because we paid Mark Andrews. We didn't have the cap space, apparently.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: And I believe a survey says for Mark Andrews, if
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: you're Nova... Oh, brother, this guy stinks!
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: And you know what's the worst part about this? As
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: soon as I was getting back from the local, I
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: texted to the voice chat while I was on my
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: way home that the rookie tight end, Matthew Hibner, was...
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: injured and then i was like worried because like i
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: didn't know how bad like a mark mark andrews had
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: up until that point like there was a he had
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: like a couple drop touchdowns he had to fumble that
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: jesse bates took with a touchdown like and then he
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: had a drop two point conversion that i think i
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: thought it was a drop but it turns out it
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: was a punch out by jesse bates but still i
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: thought mark andrews was not securing the ball oh my
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: god like i it seems like this is a serious
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: discussion of benching mark andrews for matthew hipner.
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: I mean, it's definitely a discussion that you guys can have.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: Anyway, you can continue with your segment, Talon, because I
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: think we have a good story away segment if we
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: can start with you.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: I think so. And I'll try to keep this as
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: brief as possible, because I know Brandon would very much
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: like to say his own thoughts when I segue into
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: that part. So, This was the first real test of
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: Atlanta's vaunted run defense that through four games had only
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: given up 48.3 rushing yards per game. And again, this
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: was the first litmus test. It's fucking Derrick Henry. And
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: I think it's safe to say Atlanta got... most likely
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: an F, but maybe you want to give them.
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: A D minus? Not after what Justice Hill did to
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: you guys.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: Okay, so F it is then.
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: Oh, you didn't see that happen? Justice Hill lined up
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: his fullback and he still got a good 47-yard gain
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: on that one. And that was the moment I tuned
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: in to the Watch Along Live.
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: Yep, and then Tyler Huntley had the quarterback sneak for
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: 15 yards, which was insane. But my whole thoughts on
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: this game, I mean, again, defensively, yeah, Atlanta was somewhat
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: good on defense. Mike Hughes is still a fucking liability
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: in coverage. He still is. No, he didn't. Oh, yeah,
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: Mike Hughes got hurt late. Because CJ Henderson got hurt late,
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: which led to Mike Ford being the guy on.
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: Tez Walker.
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: Tez Walker on that slot fade where Mike Ford was... Again, Nova,
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: we were watching it live. I mean, Mike Ford was
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: in pretty decent coverage on Walker. It was just a
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: perfect back shoulder throw to where Mike Ford... Although Mike
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: Ford was waving his arm and it just... The way
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: he waved, it went right under the wave. So... Again,
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: there's that. Look, I don't know how you guys have
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: really watched Michael Penix play in his three games or
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: how many games you watched him play last year. Yes,
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: he's very streaky. I will say that about him. He
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: is a streaky quarterback. He can start slow, but.
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: When he can catch fire, when he can get a
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: little like on a roll, he can get on a
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: roll and it's hard for him to stop. And admittedly
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: on that drive where we had the passing touchdown, Kyle
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: Pitts of all, I know Kyle Pitts. He exists, Brandon.
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: He exists. I didn't, I caught that moment. I was
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: watching the, on the way home. I was watching Tom
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: Grosti on the way home. Cause like, I didn't want
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: to like be distracted driving. And they're like, oh, how
- 1:50:34Speaker 2: does he get a touchdown? Apparently he was like a back,
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: like behind the defender for that one.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: Michael Penix threw that touchdown pass. Nova, I kid you not,
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: threw four defenders hands and Austin Hooper.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: Great.
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: Like it was that kind of a throw. It was
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: that kind of a mother trucking. I'll use a Tom
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: Brady line. That was a piss missile.
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: We need to have as a voice clip we need.
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: That I will try to get that but no I
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: mean on that drive he had Drake London on a
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: third down conversion where this is a thing that some
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: Falcons fans myself included and also this is a thing
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: because lefties I'm a left handed person I don't know
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: if Nova and Brandon are Brandon are you right or
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: left left okay then Brandon you might agree with me
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: on this left-handed quarterbacks, we have more power in our
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: arm than a right-handed quarterback. But right-handed quarterbacks have better accuracy,
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: have better ability to put touch on the ball than
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: a lefty quarterback. A lefty, it's fastball, fastball, fastball. And
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: we can throw the fastball. Is that fair?
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: No, that's entirely fair. Yeah, because... And another thing with it, too,
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: and then this is, again, just from my personal experience,
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: it creates a really different experience throwing the ball because
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: whereas most QBs in the NFL, most QBs are right-handed individuals,
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: you also have to have these adjustments that are done
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: by your play callers because these balls coming out of
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: lefty QBs have the opposite rotation on them. Their play
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: calling has to flip. Everything has to change with a
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: left-handed player because, yes, left-handed QBs are notoriously less accurate,
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: but they can slay it.
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: That that they can and there was that right before
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: Kyle Pitts caught his touchdown a third I think was
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: a third down conversion if I remember correctly Penix launches
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: a beautiful touch pass to Jahan Dotson like it was
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: as perfect a touch pass as you could want on
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: like a deep pass like it's not that much of
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: a lob but it was not that much of a
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: bullet it was that perfect touch and johan dotson with
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: a crazy catch on that set up the kyle pitts
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: touchdown and then baltimore's defense clamped down and forced it
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: land into nothing but field goals which.
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: Um i just do want to point out uh you
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: want to talk about the jake matthews drop.
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: I was trying to avoid that but Yeah, that was
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: unfortunate because, you know, it was a great fake. Like,
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: it was baited and everything, and it bounced off of
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: Jake Matthews' hands, which was unfortunate. And I bet you
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: Tommy Reese was like, he was probably pissed in the booth.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: I don't think they showed any replay of Tommy Reese
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: after that play, but they showed Kevin Stefanski, and Stefanski
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: was visibly upset.
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll go ahead and take the story from here,
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: because it got ugly, because the second quarter, the third,
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: second half, excuse me, and then Tyler Huntley ended up
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: finding Derek Henry on a double fake reverse screen for
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: a touchdown, and then Mark Andrews drops the two-point conversion,
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: as we said. Legitimately, Mark Andrews has been, he's good,
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: but he always has these type of games where he's
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: just trying to throw the game to the other team.
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: I think Brandon can assess this, because like, Mark, I
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: just had that random backwards pass against the Patriots. If
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: you remember.
- 1:54:25Speaker 3: Are you talking? No.
- 1:54:27Speaker 2: Last year.
- 1:54:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: He legitimately cost us that game, too.
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: Yeah, he did.
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: Like, you cannot tell me how frustrating the experience Mark
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: Andrews is, but it didn't matter because we got to
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: touch down to Tess Walker, tie the game out there
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: at two point conversion off of Derrick Henry Wildcat.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: That Zay Flowers hit him in the helmet.
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: Derrick Henry Wildcat was crazy.
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: And then, you know, like I said in our private
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: Discord chat that people were saying, oh, look at 74
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: on the Ravens and be like, oh, yeah, they got
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: away with a hold on the two-point converse. I don't
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: think it was a hold myself. It wasn't as egregious.
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: And again, like Atlanta and then that next drive, Michael
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: Penix gets crunched by, who was it? It was Tavius Robinson.
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say that. Tavius Robinson hits
- 1:55:28Speaker 2: Michael Penix, forces him to fumble. They recover it, but
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: Penix gets hit with a rib injury. And Brandon, it
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: was Tua Tagovaila time.
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: And you know what happens when Tua starts warming up
- 1:55:41Speaker 3: in a game. That means the game is over.
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: Well, not in this instance. This is when it's overtime.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: And then we had that long seven-minute drive where we
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: were dashing in on the rushing defense of the Falcons, which,
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: by the way, they gave up 200 rushing yards this game.
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Again, first litmus test, Atlanta. failed against it. And then, yeah,
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: Michael Penick said after the game that if they'd gotten
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: the ball first, he probably would have been playing. And again,
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: he did come in after that one play. So it
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: was essentially like, sort of like a wind got knocked
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: out of him, which again, Nova, you saw the, the hit,
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: like he got crunched. So it's fair that it's fair
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: to say he did get the wind knocked out of him.
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he did. And, uh, if we, if we somehow
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: remember that, well, I think we would have won the
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: game because Tyler loop is on fire.
- 1:56:39Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: And then, uh, so, uh, after that, when we got
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: the sneak touchdown by, uh, Snoop Huntley, who, Apparently, there's
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: a frame of him smiling as soon as he got
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: that touchdown. Apparently, there's a frame.
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: Oh, that was a great frame. I will give it
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: to the camera crew. That was a great frame. And then, Brandon,
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: would you like to take over that overtime drive for Atlanta?
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: I want to have this. I want to have this.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: Don't make me.
- 1:57:07Speaker 3: Yeah, no, take it. Have at it. Have at it.
- 1:57:10Speaker 2: Apparently Tua's taking over at the starting world because we
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: both thought, oh, FedEx was all right. Nope, apparently he wasn't.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: So Tua takes over at quarterback. He has a couple
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: of nice passes. He gets one to Drake London. And
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: then the very next play, looking for Drake London. He
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: never saw Kyle Hamilton and throws it straight to him.
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: Game over. Ravens continued being undefeated on the road.
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: Yeah. And again, I have watched that play seven times.
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: And you can see that Tua was looking for Drake London.
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: Looking for Drake Lennon, didn't even look to his left.
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: If he looked to his left, he had three guys
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: wide open.
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: It's the Tua Tagovailoa experience.
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Brandon, though, what's the other name that you have
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: for Tua Tagovailoa?
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: Tua turned the ball over.
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: I actually have another stat. I have another stat to
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: pull up. I have several stats to pull up. I've
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: liked some of this. I can keep track. Tyler Huntley,
- 1:58:05Speaker 2: with less than eight minutes to go, has four wins.
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: Joe Burrow only has one. that's the first day scrolling
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: in scrolling in tyler huntley is the only quarterback in
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: nfl history to go 10 for 10 or better with
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in the final
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: two minutes of the four quarter plus overtime This is
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: the first time the Falcons lost the game up eight
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: points in the final minutes since Super Bowl 51 versus
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: the Patriots. For the first time in NFL history, four
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: different quarterbacks on the same team have thrown an interception
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: all within the first 10 pass attempts in the season.
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: Cooper Rush, Jack Strand, Pat X, Tua Tagovailoa.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: Hmm. Yeah.
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: That's some good statistics.
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: He's crying inside, but it's okay. Also, before we move on,
- 1:59:03Speaker 3: fun fact.
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: I have one more quote, but you can go. I
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: have one more quote, but you can go out.
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: No, yeah, yeah, go ahead, because I was just going
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: to transition to our last game.
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and post-game locker room. Kyle Hamilton in the locker
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: room at the middle of it. I'm not trying to reminisce,
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: but the last couple of years, ever since I've been here,
- 1:59:19Speaker 2: that's a game that we lose. This right here is us.
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: He's clearly speaking about countless games John Arbost choked while
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: he's been the head coach. The fact that we're finally
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: at the winning end on these type of games, first
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: with the Cowboys, now with the Falcons, I'm happy for that. Like, finally,
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: we're catching breaks. Yeah.
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: Now, before I say what I want to say at
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: the end of this, and then Brandon, you will take
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: us home on the Monday night game, at least from
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: your guys' vantage points. And I mean, no, but we
- 1:59:51Speaker 1: watched the game together. What was your take on Penix? Like,
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: did he look like a good quarterback?
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: Yes and no. He did look good, but I also
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: want to say he was looking for Drake Linden a
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: little too much. Because, like, you saw it. Like, he
- 2:00:07Speaker 2: was very open on some coverages, and that's a lot
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: of fault of the Ravens' defensive backs. But, like, what
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: happens when defenses clamp on Drake London? Like, do you
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: have to rely on Jahan Dotson to win your games?
- 2:00:20Speaker 3: Don't you rely on Bichon out of the backfield?
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, there's that, too. But it's just like,
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: what happens when Penicillin's number one receiver target, Drake London,
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: is clamped?
- 2:00:29Speaker 1: Honestly, I would like to see Zachariah Branch get a
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: little bit more. I mean, you saw the... catch and
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: run that he had um on who was the corner
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: that was on him on that uh that like third
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: down where he caught in wasn't marlon humphrey it might
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: have been.
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: Freaking i can't stand marlon humphrey at defensive back like
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: we gotta move into safety.
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: Um but yeah i mean.
- 2:00:57Speaker 2: Oh i also forgot to mention we didn't have trey
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: hendricks in this.
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: Game Didn't have Trey Hendrickson, but shout-outs to Calais Campbell
- 2:01:04Speaker 1: as well. I mean, it was nice to see Calais
- 2:01:07Speaker 1: Campbell doing his thing still, like him as a player.
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: And also, this was John Abraham's Ring of Honor night
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: for Atlanta, and it was the— Now, I will also
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: ask this before I say my final piece. What did
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: you guys think of the Falcons' uniform combination for the
- 2:01:28Speaker 1: game on Sunday night?
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: I need to go Google search.
- 2:01:35Speaker 2: I mean, I said that as well. I think both
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: the Ravens and the Falcons uniforms are still good, but
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: of course we're going to have our biases, but I
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: will agree both. They, they did look good.
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree. And I, and I said it
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: on the, on the stream that both of them looked
- 2:01:49Speaker 1: very good, but yeah, that, that red Jersey with the
- 2:01:52Speaker 1: black pants is just absolutely incredible. And the last thing
- 2:01:59Speaker 1: I'm going to say, Wait a second. What did you
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: just say, Brandon?
- 2:02:04Speaker 3: I said I like that. That looks good. You like that?
- 2:02:08Speaker 7: You like that?
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I had to do it. Lastly, I'm going
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: to say, and this goes out to anybody out there
- 2:02:18Speaker 1: in podcast land or our listeners. If you think that
- 2:02:24Speaker 1: me saying good game to a Ravens fan or showing
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: respect to a Ravens fan makes me a fake fan
- 2:02:35Speaker 1: or the worst type of fan, I'm just going to
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: say this right now. Keel the fuck over and turn blue.
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: Because that is.
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: I'm right here.
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: That is bullshit right there. I get it's football. I
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: get it's a man's game. But last time I checked,
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: there's this thing called sportsmanship. Is that a word that
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: you guys have heard before?
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: I hear it all the time in every high school game.
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: Brandon, you ever heard of that word before?
- 2:03:05Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 2:03:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: What do you mean no?
- 2:03:08Speaker 3: What?
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: I said, oh, yes.
- 2:03:11Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:03:11Speaker 2: Now I was going to say.
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: Misheard it.
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it was one of those that got a little
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: lost in translation there, Nova. But no, I mean, that's
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: my thing. Growing up, I was taught sportsmanship. I get
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: that you want to be competitive. You want to win
- 2:03:28Speaker 1: a game. But you think I'm going to not show
- 2:03:31Speaker 1: respect to a Ravens fan after that kind of a game?
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: That was a hell of a game on Sunday night.
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: What am I supposed to say? Oh, the Ravens got
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: lucky because Michael Panik's gone.
- 2:03:45Speaker 2: That's what Brandon's saying to us right now. He says
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: the Ravens got lucky.
- 2:03:50Speaker 1: But Brandon's a Patriots fan. He kind of has no
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: skin in the game.
- 2:03:55Speaker 3: Correct. I also said that Atlanta choked. I didn't say
- 2:03:58Speaker 3: Ravens got lucky. I said Atlanta choked. There's a big
- 2:04:01Speaker 3: difference there.
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: That is true. There is a big difference there. But again,
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: even Brandon as a Pats fan, I mean, yes, it's a,
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: you know, Patriots fans, different than Falcons fans, different than
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: Ravens fans, but even they know how to show respect
- 2:04:15Speaker 1: to a good game. Well, for sure. Yeah, I mean,
- 2:04:21Speaker 1: like I said, when I went up there for the
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: game last year, the one that Atlanta lost because of
- 2:04:26Speaker 1: John Parker Romo missing the PAT that ruined the hattie
- 2:04:29Speaker 1: for Drake London, almost every Patriots fan that was there,
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: they were all saying, this was a hell of a game.
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: Michael Penix looks like a damn good quarterback.
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: Yeah, what I'm saying is that I don't think Michael
- 2:04:43Speaker 2: Penix is a bad quarterback. He's good. I'm just worried
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: he's over-reliant on Drake London.
- 2:04:50Speaker 1: Which is fair. I mean, it'll be interesting to see
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: how everything goes on. Again, we'll see what happens next
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: week and in the coming weeks because they've got some
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: tough tests coming up. But the first real test, I'll
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: be one to say it, they failed.
- 2:05:15Speaker 2: Especially since we're getting Lamar Jackson and Jacoby Wayne back soon.
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. And with that, Brandon, take us home on the
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: Monday night game.
- 2:05:25Speaker 3: So before we transition real quick, I looked up a
- 2:05:27Speaker 3: very interesting statistic whenever we were talking about left-handed QBs.
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: The only two left-handed QBs that are in the Pro
- 2:05:35Speaker 3: Football Hall of Fame, and some of our listeners may
- 2:05:36Speaker 3: know this already, some may not, are Steve Young and
- 2:05:41Speaker 3: Ken Stabler. So... Accuracy, for the most part, does exist
- 2:05:47Speaker 3: for left-handed QBs. It's just apparently an extreme rarity. But, no. So,
- 2:05:54Speaker 3: the last but not least, the Los Angeles Rams choking
- 2:05:59Speaker 3: it away yet again to the Buffalo Bills. Who saw
- 2:06:05Speaker 3: Josh Allen only attempting 19 passes in this game?
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: Tryhard Dills fans, because they always claim that Josh Allen's
- 2:06:13Speaker 2: the better running quarterback in all time. He's the best
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: of all time. He's this god-mode quarterback. And that's what
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: sparked this Josh Allen-Wilmer Jackson debate again. Well, let's say
- 2:06:24Speaker 2: here's the thing.
- 2:06:26Speaker 3: Josh Allen completed 12 passes for 210 yards. 12 passes
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: for 210 yards. And then turn around and Josh Allen
- 2:06:30Speaker 3: himself carried it 10 times. for 121 rushing yards. And
- 2:06:45Speaker 3: then the Rams also allowed 25 carries for 111 yards
- 2:06:48Speaker 3: and two TDs to Josh Allen's one rushing TD to
- 2:06:52Speaker 3: James Cook III. And then no Buffalo receiver broke 100
- 2:06:57Speaker 3: receiving yards. What the hell happened in this game?
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: Touchdowns. That's what happened.
- 2:07:04Speaker 3: Wukunukuwa showed up. 17 receptions, 138 a TD.
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: Matthew Stafford finally showed up.
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: I wouldn't call him.
- 2:07:11Speaker 3: Having to throw the ball 54 times showing up.
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: I would call it the yardage showing up.
- 2:07:16Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, whenever you're going to overtime, it kind
- 2:07:19Speaker 3: of builds up a little bit. But I wouldn't call
- 2:07:21Speaker 3: having him throw the ball 54 times as an aging
- 2:07:23Speaker 3: QB showing up.
- 2:07:25Speaker 2: I would say so because he's the defending MVP.
- 2:07:28Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 2:07:29Speaker 3: Carry us away for the rest of this one. All righty.
- 2:07:32Speaker 2: Because I actually ended up catching this game at the
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: end because I got home from doing midterms. and all
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: i saw were touchdowns like neither defense could defense for
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: some reason dalton kinkade went silent again for the bills
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: i'm not sure what's going on there and we're not
- 2:07:46Speaker 2: relying on him like on the receiver situation maybe it
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: has something to do with the dj moore injury i'm
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: not too sure and then the overtime happened nate landman
- 2:07:57Speaker 2: forced a fumble aaron donald recovered and i'm like oh
- 2:08:00Speaker 2: this is it yeah the rams are going to win
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: that game nope block field goal and it's another special
- 2:08:05Speaker 2: team splendor for the rams and josh allen carries the
- 2:08:08Speaker 2: bill sewell josh allen's first ever overtime win and harrison
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: mevis gets cut after the game.
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that was definitely something.
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: What do I have to say about this game? Matthew
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: Stafford won me fantasy by half a point.
- 2:08:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you're still undefeated. How?
- 2:08:46Speaker 1: Like, I'll be honest, and Brandon, you can answer me
- 2:08:50Speaker 1: this question because I don't know if you did the
- 2:08:51Speaker 1: same thing. I turned this game off in the third
- 2:08:53Speaker 1: quarter because I was that tired.
- 2:08:56Speaker 3: No, I was in bed for most of it, to
- 2:08:58Speaker 3: be fair.
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I turned this game off in the third quarter.
- 2:09:02Speaker 1: I passed out, and then I woke up. I saw,
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: and again, we spoke about it today, reading. We we've
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: been difficult at reading. I think I read my notification wrong,
- 2:09:15Speaker 1: like four times. And it said, I think I saw that. Oh,
- 2:09:18Speaker 1: the Rams won. Oh, wait, no, the Rams didn't win. Oh, wait, no,
- 2:09:21Speaker 1: the Rams won. And then I opened the sleeper app.
- 2:09:27Speaker 1: Cause again, we're all in the same, the same fantasy league.
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: And I saw that I won that league by 0.52 points.
- 2:09:40Speaker 3: That's a close game.
- 2:09:43Speaker 1: Also, I think we forgot to mention it during the
- 2:09:45Speaker 1: Sunday night game. How many points did Bajon and Derek
- 2:09:48Speaker 1: Henry get you?
- 2:09:53Speaker 3: Let me pull that up real quick because it wasn't
- 2:09:56Speaker 3: as much as I were hoping to, but they both
- 2:09:58Speaker 3: definitely still put up a decent amount of points for me.
- 2:10:01Speaker 3: If the ESPN Fantasy Apple ever decided to load Because
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: I don't know what the hell they've changed to all
- 2:10:08Speaker 3: this year, but it takes so long for it to load.
- 2:10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, because they have to do the recap or whatever.
- 2:10:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and I haven't opened it today. The last week,
- 2:10:21Speaker 3: Derrick Henry got me 21 fantasy points and Bijan got
- 2:10:24Speaker 3: me 15.8 in a full PPR leak.
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: That's not bad at all.
- 2:10:31Speaker 2: It's not bad.
- 2:10:32Speaker 3: I wish it was more, but I still won by
- 2:10:34Speaker 3: like 60 anyway, so it's fine.
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely fine.
- 2:10:40Speaker 2: I'm just going to close it by saying stop with
- 2:10:42Speaker 2: the Josh Allen-Lamar Jackson debate. It's seriously annoying me how everyone, like,
- 2:10:47Speaker 2: my social media just flooded with Josh Allen's better than
- 2:10:49Speaker 2: Lamar Jackson things. Like, I'm annoyed.
- 2:10:52Speaker 1: I don't know. Should we start Drake May-Lamar Jackson comparisons, Brandon?
- 2:10:57Speaker 2: Stop, bro. We're not the same quarterback. Drake May's worse.
- 2:11:04Speaker 3: Ooh. How many Super Bowls has Lamar Jackson been to?
- 2:11:08Speaker 2: The same amount that... Oh. Oh.
- 2:11:11Speaker 3: Oh. Oh.
- 2:11:13Speaker 2: Oh.
- 2:11:13Speaker 3: Oh.
- 2:11:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:11:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I fucking thought. I didn't say how
- 2:11:20Speaker 3: many has he won. I said how many has he
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: been to. At least we can make a Super Bowl
- 2:11:24Speaker 3: with a quarterback.
- 2:11:26Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 2:11:28Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, this is why the three of us
- 2:11:30Speaker 1: work together because it's always fun like this.
- 2:11:34Speaker 5: Um....
- 2:11:36Speaker 1: I think the only thing I have left to say
- 2:11:38Speaker 1: on this game is, again, like, Nova.
- 2:11:41Speaker 3: You brought it up.
- 2:11:42Speaker 2: Actually, Art of Ramps frauds. We need to bring that up.
- 2:11:45Speaker 1: Brandon, take the lead on that.
- 2:11:50Speaker 3: I think they've got a little bit longer to go
- 2:11:51Speaker 3: before I officially put it. officially wow holy shit my
- 2:11:59Speaker 3: y'all forget about reading we need to do pronunciations we
- 2:12:03Speaker 3: need to just we need to analyze me for a
- 2:12:06Speaker 3: stroke at this point um if the rams words are
- 2:12:12Speaker 3: really hard for reference i woke up at 5 a.m
- 2:12:15Speaker 3: eastern right now it's currently just before 11 p.m eastern
- 2:12:19Speaker 3: um If the Rams struggle the next two games of
- 2:12:25Speaker 3: the season with one of these two opponents, I think
- 2:12:30Speaker 3: I would personally put them on fraud watch for reference.
- 2:12:33Speaker 3: Their next two games are away versus Arizona and at
- 2:12:37Speaker 3: home versus the Raiders.
- 2:12:40Speaker 1: Oh God. I think I, I think I might have
- 2:12:42Speaker 1: to second that claim right there, Brandon.
- 2:12:46Speaker 3: So as of right now, I think they're doing just
- 2:12:49Speaker 3: enough to stay in the game with everything. But they've
- 2:12:57Speaker 3: definitely still been putting together decent performances. Like, they lost
- 2:13:02Speaker 3: to the Niners 27-7. The Niners look really good even
- 2:13:06Speaker 3: with all of their injuries. Not energy, injuries. Can we
- 2:13:11Speaker 3: tell I'm tired? They beat the Giants, but I think
- 2:13:15Speaker 3: that was also the same game where Jackson Hart went down.
- 2:13:19Speaker 3: They lost by four to the Broncos. They won by
- 2:13:23Speaker 3: four to Philly, and then they lost an overtime game
- 2:13:26Speaker 3: with Buffalo. I don't think there's enough of a sample
- 2:13:29Speaker 3: pool there to say that they're frauds, just based on that.
- 2:13:33Speaker 2: Until they lose to the Raiders.
- 2:13:39Speaker 1: I mean, that's if they lose. To the Raiders. I mean,
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: anything is possible. But before we get into the predictions,
- 2:13:48Speaker 1: you guys know that I have been doing this with
- 2:13:51Speaker 1: you guys. I have it up here for us to
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: talk about and enjoy at them. We have the Barstool
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: Big Cat Computer Power Rankings.
- 2:14:04Speaker 2: Not this again. I hate that more than Brandon hates
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: Nick Wright.
- 2:14:12Speaker 3: I love it. Let's talk about it.
- 2:14:14Speaker 1: Okay. So, juggernauts. Kansas City, San Francisco, Buffalo.
- 2:14:21Speaker 2: That's a hot take.
- 2:14:23Speaker 1: Super Bowl contenders. Seattle, Jacksonville, Baltimore.
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: Not having Minnesota there is sus.
- 2:14:34Speaker 3: That's definitely not sus at all. Minnesota looks like crap
- 2:14:36Speaker 3: right now with their offense.
- 2:14:39Speaker 1: Uh, next up good teams in a stacked AFC, New England, uh,
- 2:14:47Speaker 1: Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
- 2:14:50Speaker 3: I don't agree with Pittsburgh being there, but I do
- 2:14:53Speaker 3: agree with the general assessment.
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: Okay. Next up. Now is the time to bet over
- 2:15:00Speaker 1: 10 and a half wins. Look at their next five games.
- 2:15:04Speaker 1: The Rams.
- 2:15:08Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:15:10Speaker 3: That's interesting.
- 2:15:13Speaker 1: Next up, juggernaut on defense and offense trending up, the Vikings.
- 2:15:21Speaker 3: I don't think the offense is trending up just yet,
- 2:15:24Speaker 3: but I can understand their thought process.
- 2:15:27Speaker 1: Juggernauts on offense, defense look good because Cardinals, the Detroit Lions.
- 2:15:33Speaker 3: Because Cardinals is phenomenal.
- 2:15:36Speaker 2: Which, by the way, the Cardinals have lost every game
- 2:15:39Speaker 2: since beating the Chargers.
- 2:15:42Speaker 1: Okay, next up. The computer must admit it was belt
- 2:15:46Speaker 1: to ass, but it was only one game and they
- 2:15:48Speaker 1: lost to the Bears in the playoffs. Anybody want to
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: guess that team?
- 2:15:55Speaker 2: If it isn't the Chiefs, I don't know what it is.
- 2:15:59Speaker 1: I'd be the Packers.
- 2:16:00Speaker 2: I'd say it's the Packers.
- 2:16:03Speaker 1: Next up, burn the tape, get Caleb back. The Bears.
- 2:16:09Speaker 3: The Bears.
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: Legitimately fun and good NFC South teams, the Falcons and
- 2:16:16Speaker 1: the Panthers.
- 2:16:20Speaker 2: Putting the Falcons there is generous.
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: But wait, there's more. A bummer NFC South team. A
- 2:16:27Speaker 1: picture of Tua Tagovailoa.
- 2:16:30Speaker 3: Phenomenal.
- 2:16:31Speaker 2: Actually, I saw a random tweet that was talking about
- 2:16:34Speaker 2: doing disservice to the state of Georgia. Because remember, he
- 2:16:37Speaker 2: threw the game winner against Georgia. He threw the game
- 2:16:39Speaker 2: loser as a Falcon.
- 2:16:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and Brandon remembers that one because that was Devontae Smith,
- 2:16:44Speaker 1: wasn't it?
- 2:16:45Speaker 3: Yes, I believe so.
- 2:16:47Speaker 1: Yes, it was. So after a bummer NFC South team,
- 2:16:52Speaker 1: life's greatest mysteries, the Denver Broncos, is Bo Nix good?
- 2:16:57Speaker 3: No.
- 2:16:58Speaker 1: What I believe is Amelia Earhart. um who shot jfk
- 2:17:06Speaker 1: where is the g spot phenomenal and something with airplanes
- 2:17:14Speaker 1: like i i don't know i don't get the reference
- 2:17:16Speaker 1: on the last one um keep buying stock the houston texans.
- 2:17:24Speaker 2: I wouldn't say buy the stock just yet but think
- 2:17:26Speaker 2: about it.
- 2:17:29Speaker 3: I think people are saying that just because of the
- 2:17:31Speaker 3: MHJ trade.
- 2:17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair. Next up, if one of them caught fire, maybe?
- 2:17:40Speaker 1: Probably not. The Raiders, the Colts, the Browns.
- 2:17:48Speaker 2: Colts, no.
- 2:17:54Speaker 1: Next up, Aaron Glenn may be building something. The Jets.
- 2:17:58Speaker 3: Is he, though? I could see that.
- 2:18:01Speaker 2: I don't.
- 2:18:02Speaker 3: I do. I definitely do, especially with the way the
- 2:18:05Speaker 3: Jets have looked this year.
- 2:18:08Speaker 2: They'll disappoint you like they did against the Bears. I'm
- 2:18:13Speaker 2: not falling for that trap again.
- 2:18:15Speaker 1: I mean, it could go either way on the Jets.
- 2:18:18Speaker 1: I'm leaning towards Brandon on that one, though, Nova. I'm
- 2:18:21Speaker 1: kind of in small agreement, but I got to see more.
- 2:18:24Speaker 3: Next up. I see the Jets twice a year. I
- 2:18:28Speaker 3: could see it. All right.
- 2:18:31Speaker 1: Next up. Even though they tied, they won the Giants.
- 2:18:36Speaker 3: Correct.
- 2:18:39Speaker 1: All right, next up. What the fuck even is this?
- 2:18:42Speaker 1: NFC East edition. Every other NFC East team.
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 2:18:51Speaker 1: Nova, I think Brandon nearly spit out whatever water.
- 2:18:53Speaker 3: He was drinking. No, that was Nova.
- 2:18:56Speaker 2: That was Nova.
- 2:18:56Speaker 1: Oh, that was Nova?
- 2:18:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:18:59Speaker 1: Oh, then my apologies. I wasn't even drinking water. Okay,
- 2:19:05Speaker 1: next up. What the fuck even is this? NFC South edition.
- 2:19:10Speaker 1: The Saints and the Buccaneers.
- 2:19:13Speaker 3: That's pretty accurate.
- 2:19:16Speaker 1: The obligatory cannons power ranking, which again is just nothing
- 2:19:21Speaker 1: but Sidney Sweeney and a bunch of cannons. Hey, those
- 2:19:26Speaker 1: are some good cannons.
- 2:19:29Speaker 3: Tampa Bay.
- 2:19:32Speaker 1: Next up, week one. Week one was cool. The Cardinals.
- 2:19:38Speaker 3: Correct.
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: Mega ass cheeks by design. The Miami Dolphins.
- 2:19:44Speaker 2: That's correct.
- 2:19:45Speaker 3: That is correct.
- 2:19:47Speaker 1: Mega ass cheeks and it's somehow getting worse and football
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: might be a worthless endeavor. The Chargers and the Titans.
- 2:19:56Speaker 2: As I said, I think the Chargers are the worst
- 2:19:58Speaker 2: team in the league.
- 2:20:02Speaker 1: Susie, these computer rankings are great, aren't they, guys?
- 2:20:05Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 2:20:07Speaker 3: I love it. Don't listen to this party pooper. I
- 2:20:10Speaker 3: think those are funny.
- 2:20:14Speaker 1: Now, here's the real question, though, Brandon, because I know
- 2:20:16Speaker 1: you don't like him. I know I poke fun at it.
- 2:20:21Speaker 1: Which power ranking categories do you like better? Barstool Big
- 2:20:25Speaker 1: Cat's computer or Nick Wright's tears?
- 2:20:30Speaker 3: That's not Nick Wright. is not Nick Wright.
- 2:20:34Speaker 2: Nor is mine.
- 2:20:39Speaker 3: I refuse to acknowledge Nick Wright as a color analyst
- 2:20:42Speaker 3: of any variety. Refuse.
- 2:20:47Speaker 2: Oh, man. Oh, man.
- 2:20:51Speaker 1: All right. Well, off to week six, then. off to
- 2:20:56Speaker 1: week six, Brandon, because you won the week, you get
- 2:20:59Speaker 1: the first crack at making the prediction for Seattle at Denver.
- 2:21:06Speaker 3: And they're playing that mile high stadium. That's the crazy thing.
- 2:21:11Speaker 2: Excuse me, sir. That's in power field at mile high.
- 2:21:16Speaker 3: Pardon me. It's still mile high. Um, I'm... Wait, let
- 2:21:22Speaker 3: me pull this up. Let me actually... No, come back.
- 2:21:28Speaker 3: This one's kind of hard, because Denver doesn't know how
- 2:21:30Speaker 3: to do anything but play the fourth corner, apparently.
- 2:21:33Speaker 2: It literally comes out to, it's a double match that
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: appears again.
- 2:21:36Speaker 3: It really is. I'm going Seattle on this one.
- 2:21:40Speaker 1: Refresh my memory on this one. Wasn't this the game
- 2:21:44Speaker 1: a few Thursday nights ago where... No, when Mike Florio
- 2:21:52Speaker 1: was like, there's not enough drugs in the world to
- 2:21:55Speaker 1: get us through the second half. Wasn't it Seattle, Denver, Brandon,
- 2:21:58Speaker 1: or am I wrong?
- 2:22:02Speaker 3: I think it was, but don't quote me on that.
- 2:22:06Speaker 1: I'm about to look it up while Nova.
- 2:22:08Speaker 3: I'm way ahead of you. You are?
- 2:22:10Speaker 1: Oh, thank God.
- 2:22:14Speaker 2: I don't even know what the thing about this game.
- 2:22:16Speaker 2: Cause again, I think it comes down to whether or
- 2:22:18Speaker 2: not the Broncos double magic appears. I really just don't know.
- 2:22:20Speaker 1: Well, I'm going to take Seattle on this one. I
- 2:22:24Speaker 1: think they're going to be hungry after that loss. And
- 2:22:28Speaker 1: I think, I think those, I think those shock Denver.
- 2:22:34Speaker 2: I really don't know, man. I really don't. Like, there's
- 2:22:39Speaker 2: a part of me that wants to pick Seattle because
- 2:22:40Speaker 2: I know they're the better team, but there's also the
- 2:22:42Speaker 2: part of me that wants to pick Denver because of
- 2:22:43Speaker 2: the devil magic.
- 2:22:47Speaker 1: Because they do it almost every time. Brandon, I think
- 2:22:53Speaker 1: Nova needs to flip a coin on this one. Don't you?
- 2:22:55Speaker 3: I do.
- 2:22:57Speaker 2: I'm picking Seattle.
- 2:22:58Speaker 1: Screw this.
- 2:23:00Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:23:01Speaker 1: Seattle it is.
- 2:23:03Speaker 2: I think the devil magic does happen when I think
- 2:23:05Speaker 2: the Seahawks break through.
- 2:23:09Speaker 1: I mean, that's fair.
- 2:23:11Speaker 2: Now off to London. Houston, Jacksonville.
- 2:23:16Speaker 1: And this one actually is in Wembley.
- 2:23:21Speaker 3: Jacksonville.
- 2:23:24Speaker 2: Here's my hot take. I'm taking Houston. I think they
- 2:23:30Speaker 2: lit a fire against that Tennessee defense.
- 2:23:33Speaker 3: That's not saying much.
- 2:23:34Speaker 1: Do we know if Marvin Harrison Jr. will be playing
- 2:23:36Speaker 1: for Houston by Sunday?
- 2:23:38Speaker 3: Not yet.
- 2:23:40Speaker 2: On Tuesday, October 13th, we have nothing.
- 2:23:44Speaker 3: Let me rephrase that. As of right now, we do
- 2:23:46Speaker 3: not know if he will be or not.
- 2:23:49Speaker 2: But I trust Amiko Ryans.
- 2:23:53Speaker 1: And I trust the team that's still over in London
- 2:23:56Speaker 1: right now.
- 2:23:58Speaker 3: That's another reason. I trust the team that doesn't have
- 2:24:00Speaker 3: to fucking travel again.
- 2:24:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of where I'm leaning myself. I mean,
- 2:24:10Speaker 1: the other thing, though, is if Marvin Harrison Jr. plays
- 2:24:14Speaker 1: in this game, I would not be surprised if Houston
- 2:24:17Speaker 1: keeps it close, Brandon. I think that's safe to say.
- 2:24:19Speaker 1: And also, it's a division matchup in Wembley.
- 2:24:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:24:25Speaker 1: This might actually be a game to watch.
- 2:24:28Speaker 2: But then remember, the last thing that happened, of course,
- 2:24:30Speaker 2: the Rams jet lagged.
- 2:24:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but that was the Rams' own stupidity.
- 2:24:37Speaker 3: Correct.
- 2:24:40Speaker 1: All right. Let's go on to the next one and
- 2:24:43Speaker 1: start the one o'clock window. Chicago at Atlanta.
- 2:24:47Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know what to say about this one.
- 2:24:51Speaker 1: Well, I already used my, I can already say this.
- 2:24:54Speaker 1: I already used my asterisk for the season. So I
- 2:24:57Speaker 1: don't get a second asterisk. If Brandon wants a second asterisk,
- 2:25:01Speaker 1: I will give it to him. But because do we.
- 2:25:05Speaker 2: Know about Caleb Williams?
- 2:25:08Speaker 1: Nothing concrete yet, but it's apparently Michael Penix. He said
- 2:25:15Speaker 1: he will be playing on Sunday.
- 2:25:20Speaker 2: That's not my problem. I feel like Penix will be fine.
- 2:25:22Speaker 2: I'm more like Caleb Williams. If we know about his status,
- 2:25:28Speaker 2: I'd know where I'd pick. But is he questionable or
- 2:25:31Speaker 2: is he doubtful or is he out?
- 2:25:34Speaker 1: I'm going to ride with Atlanta on this game. I'm
- 2:25:37Speaker 1: going to say we get our first home win against Chicago.
- 2:25:39Speaker 1: I mean, this was also a game where I said
- 2:25:41Speaker 1: Atlanta would win. Believe it or not, I know I
- 2:25:45Speaker 1: picked Atlanta last week, even though that was like you
- 2:25:48Speaker 1: versus me, Nova. But I don't think I told you
- 2:25:51Speaker 1: or Brandon about this. Before the season began, I called
- 2:25:55Speaker 1: in a Rich Eisen's show and I did the win-loss game.
- 2:25:58Speaker 1: I did pick Baltimore to beat Atlanta week five.
- 2:26:03Speaker 2: I actually need to hear that.
- 2:26:07Speaker 1: You might have to go deep into the ESPN watch
- 2:26:11Speaker 1: archives or whatever. But yeah, I said Atlanta will beat
- 2:26:18Speaker 1: Chicago in this game. I'm sticking to it. Brandon, what
- 2:26:20Speaker 1: do you say?
- 2:26:21Speaker 3: I am reading some things currently. Give me just like
- 2:26:31Speaker 3: five seconds. I will not disclose what I read, because
- 2:26:40Speaker 3: I would like to keep my internal thoughts on this internal.
- 2:26:44Speaker 3: Not for discussion reasons, because I don't want to swing
- 2:26:48Speaker 3: my decision any. I'm going with Atlanta.
- 2:26:53Speaker 2: I had a check on Sleeper. It says that he's out,
- 2:26:55Speaker 2: but there's also reports that he's looking pretty good to play,
- 2:26:58Speaker 2: so I really don't know what to think.
- 2:26:59Speaker 1: I was like, Well, if I'm not mistaken, Brandon, and again,
- 2:27:06Speaker 1: like you said, you have some confidential information on your end.
- 2:27:10Speaker 1: I'm not going to ask you to reveal it or anything,
- 2:27:13Speaker 1: but what I'm going to ask is, did any of
- 2:27:16Speaker 1: it imply with Caleb Williams with the fact that I
- 2:27:21Speaker 1: think this was one of the games that he was
- 2:27:23Speaker 1: targeting a return? Because remember, I think it was what,
- 2:27:26Speaker 1: three to four week injury was the grade two hamstring,
- 2:27:30Speaker 1: if I remember correctly?
- 2:27:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it's one of the things that he was targeting
- 2:27:34Speaker 3: a return in, but at the same time, my personal opinion,
- 2:27:39Speaker 3: this is not the... opinion of anybody else or anything
- 2:27:41Speaker 3: that I read. This is just my personal opinion as
- 2:27:45Speaker 3: someone who has previously played sports is if Chicago values
- 2:27:52Speaker 3: Caleb Williams, they will see him out for at least
- 2:27:55Speaker 3: one to two more games.
- 2:27:59Speaker 2: Because otherwise, I'd pick Atlanta, and I am going to
- 2:28:01Speaker 2: pick Atlanta. Because I trust Michael Penix more than I
- 2:28:04Speaker 2: trust Tyson Bayes.
- 2:28:07Speaker 1: Well, that's fair. And then if, God forbid, Tua starts
- 2:28:11Speaker 1: this game?
- 2:28:14Speaker 3: If Tua starts, I'm picking the Bears. I think they
- 2:28:17Speaker 3: have that belt in that game. I think this is
- 2:28:19Speaker 3: going to light a fire under their ass after how
- 2:28:21Speaker 3: bad Green Bay embarrassed them in their Super Bowl.
- 2:28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely fair. Now let's get into a couple
- 2:28:30Speaker 1: of other divisional games. But first, we'll talk about Pittsburgh
- 2:28:34Speaker 1: and Tampa Bay. And you want to know, again, not
- 2:28:38Speaker 1: to get political, but guess who's showing up to this game, apparently,
- 2:28:41Speaker 1: according to reports.
- 2:28:42Speaker 2: Don't tell me it's him.
- 2:28:45Speaker 1: Yep, 47 apparently is going to be in attendance.
- 2:28:47Speaker 2: Give me the Steelers.
- 2:28:49Speaker 3: Give me the Steelers. Wait, who do they play?
- 2:28:51Speaker 2: Hold on. They're playing in Raymond James Stadium.
- 2:28:54Speaker 3: I didn't say where were they playing. I said, who
- 2:28:55Speaker 3: were they playing?
- 2:28:57Speaker 2: The Buccaneers.
- 2:28:58Speaker 3: Yeah, don't give me Steelers.
- 2:29:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm taking Pittsburgh in this one. Now let's get
- 2:29:05Speaker 1: into the divisional matchups. These ones should probably be quickly. Ravens-Browns.
- 2:29:10Speaker 3: Ravens.
- 2:29:11Speaker 2: Lamar Jackson should be back in this game. I don't
- 2:29:13Speaker 2: know about Jacoby White or Trey Hendrickson, but I am
- 2:29:16Speaker 2: confident Tyler Huntley or Lamar Jackson will show up. I
- 2:29:20Speaker 2: am confident that the Ravens defense will show up. Give
- 2:29:23Speaker 2: me the Ravens. All right.
- 2:29:25Speaker 3: It doesn't matter who shows up. Ravens.
- 2:29:28Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of.
- 2:29:29Speaker 2: Remember, we randomly have bad games against Cleveland in... Wait,
- 2:29:33Speaker 2: what is that called? Huntington Bankfield? Is that really the name?
- 2:29:37Speaker 3: You also have randomly bad games against the Saints, too,
- 2:29:39Speaker 3: with Lamar Jackson, but still give me the Ravens in
- 2:29:41Speaker 3: this one.
- 2:29:42Speaker 2: Oh, my.
- 2:29:42Speaker 1: Stop it. Honestly, Brent, I'm not even so much that
- 2:29:47Speaker 1: it's the Saints so much as it's the home opener
- 2:29:49Speaker 1: on the same weekend as a Pokemon regional.
- 2:29:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's also valid.
- 2:29:56Speaker 1: And yeah, also Huntington Bank Field. Yeah, they changed that from.
- 2:29:59Speaker 2: First Energy Stadium, I think.
- 2:30:01Speaker 1: I thought it was Progressive Field. Wasn't it, Brandon?
- 2:30:04Speaker 2: That's the Guardians.
- 2:30:06Speaker 1: Oh, is it Guardians?
- 2:30:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they're playing as the Rays.
- 2:30:11Speaker 1: What is the score of that game as of.
- 2:30:18Speaker 2: Didn't Cleveland win game one?
- 2:30:20Speaker 1: They did.
- 2:30:21Speaker 2: Oh, Tampa did.
- 2:30:23Speaker 3: Tampa won game two. It's tied 1-1, 3-1.
- 2:30:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:30:27Speaker 1: Cool on Tampa. Should I just write Indianapolis for this game?
- 2:30:41Speaker 1: I'm writing Indianapolis for me. Same. Brandon?
- 2:30:47Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Are we talking about... Wait. Hold on.
- 2:30:51Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 2:30:55Speaker 3: Hold on. My tired ADHD brain is being tired again. Yeah,
- 2:31:00Speaker 3: I give you Indy for this one. Sorry, I was
- 2:31:03Speaker 3: on week five, apparently, and I was like, hello? Y'all,
- 2:31:09Speaker 3: I'm so tired right now. But yeah, give me Indy.
- 2:31:12Speaker 2: I'm not going to cut slack on that one. I
- 2:31:13Speaker 2: just didn't notice.
- 2:31:17Speaker 1: Jets, Patriots.
- 2:31:20Speaker 2: This one's easy for me, Patriots.
- 2:31:22Speaker 1: This one's probably easy for Brandon, too. Patriots.
- 2:31:26Speaker 3: I'm not picking against my Patriots for the Jets.
- 2:31:31Speaker 1: But now, hypothetical, if the Jets are to beat the Patriots,
- 2:31:37Speaker 1: what is the scale of the rant on a scale
- 2:31:40Speaker 1: of 1 to 10 early number?
- 2:31:43Speaker 3: Find out next Wednesday when the next week episode airs.
- 2:31:49Speaker 2: We'll fucking find out then, won't we?
- 2:31:53Speaker 1: I think we'll find out then.
- 2:31:56Speaker 2: Why not next time on Ruffling the Feathers?
- 2:31:59Speaker 1: All right. Saints or Giants? This one's actually tough.
- 2:32:07Speaker 2: I don't think so. I think it's the Giants. It's
- 2:32:18Speaker 2: in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Is that weather?
- 2:32:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, it is.
- 2:32:23Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:32:23Speaker 1: Here, let me... let me open up the preview of
- 2:32:27Speaker 1: that one. Cause we could get a quote unquote, a
- 2:32:29Speaker 1: better AccuWeather MetLife stadium, 10 day forecast.
- 2:32:37Speaker 2: So for Sunday, 58, mostly sunny.
- 2:32:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:32:42Speaker 2: That's all I need to know.
- 2:32:45Speaker 1: I'm taking new Orleans. I can't believe I'm saying that
- 2:32:48Speaker 1: I'm taking new Orleans.
- 2:32:49Speaker 2: Do you not trust Jameis Winston?
- 2:32:52Speaker 3: Listen to the question that you just asked.
- 2:32:58Speaker 2: I need you.
- 2:32:59Speaker 3: I might be a tired man, but I really need
- 2:33:01Speaker 3: you to listen to the question that you just asked
- 2:33:03Speaker 3: right now. Also, give me the Giants.
- 2:33:10Speaker 2: Okay, was he about to see Jameis or was he about.
- 2:33:14Speaker 3: To see J.J. McCarthy? J.J. McCarthy's a fucking bum.
- 2:33:18Speaker 2: Never fear. 18 is here.
- 2:33:23Speaker 3: I'd like to point out, the Saints are 1-1 away,
- 2:33:26Speaker 3: where the Giants are undefeated at home.
- 2:33:30Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:33:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:33:32Speaker 3: They're about to be 4-0 at home against the Saints.
- 2:33:36Speaker 3: The Giants are going to 4-1-1 this weekend.
- 2:33:39Speaker 2: Watch, they're going to win the NFC East at this rate.
- 2:33:41Speaker 3: I mean, the other three teams aren't any good, though, so,
- 2:33:43Speaker 3: you know.
- 2:33:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Carolina at Philly.
- 2:33:49Speaker 2: Philly's favorite? No, I'm taking the Panthers.
- 2:33:53Speaker 1: What about the Carolina boy?
- 2:33:57Speaker 3: Let me... Do you seriously want me to trust Nick Sirianni?
- 2:34:02Speaker 2: No, I will not.
- 2:34:09Speaker 3: If Jalen Coker returns, give me the Panthers. I'm not
- 2:34:15Speaker 3: asking for an asterisk on this one because he is
- 2:34:18Speaker 3: questionable with a quad injury. But... I still think I
- 2:34:23Speaker 3: would like to see Carolina favored regardless.
- 2:34:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:34:27Speaker 3: Especially with the way Philly's been playing.
- 2:34:29Speaker 1: Yeah. I think I'm picking Carolina as well on this.
- 2:34:32Speaker 1: I mean, again, when, when, what the Eagles did last week,
- 2:34:37Speaker 1: I think it's, I think it's a fair trade off
- 2:34:40Speaker 1: that I'm not picking them the following week, especially when
- 2:34:44Speaker 1: they're coming back from London. So naturally they got to
- 2:34:48Speaker 1: get reaccustomed to East coast time, even though, uh, As
- 2:34:52Speaker 1: Brandon and I can attest, even though I don't think
- 2:34:55Speaker 1: either of us have been to Europe before. I mean,
- 2:34:59Speaker 1: Brandon might have been. Have you, Brandon? Yes, I have. Okay.
- 2:35:04Speaker 1: So then you could probably attest to this. It's probably
- 2:35:08Speaker 1: easier to do the conversion from Europe time back to
- 2:35:11Speaker 1: East Coast rather than Europe time to Nova on the
- 2:35:15Speaker 1: West Coast, right?
- 2:35:18Speaker 3: It just really depends on how skilled you are with
- 2:35:21Speaker 3: time math anyway. That sounds really sci-fi and really fancy,
- 2:35:25Speaker 3: but it's true. It just really depends on how good
- 2:35:29Speaker 3: you are at mentally thinking about that anyway.
- 2:35:33Speaker 1: Yeah. Moving on.
- 2:35:35Speaker 2: Specifically the 4 o'clock 5 window.
- 2:35:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Brennan, Cardinals, Rams. Who are you taking?
- 2:35:45Speaker 3: Rams. Rams.
- 2:35:50Speaker 2: Yep.
- 2:35:51Speaker 1: And so am I.
- 2:35:54Speaker 2: Now to the 425 window.
- 2:35:57Speaker 1: Chargers and Chiefs.
- 2:35:59Speaker 2: Is this a question?
- 2:36:00Speaker 3: Chiefs.
- 2:36:02Speaker 2: Like, seriously, is this a question?
- 2:36:05Speaker 1: I will tell you guys this right now. I mean,
- 2:36:08Speaker 1: I'm picking Kansas City, but if this game, like, and
- 2:36:12Speaker 1: I'm saying this game this week, if it would have
- 2:36:16Speaker 1: been in so far, i might have picked the chargers.
- 2:36:23Speaker 2: You mean the second you mean the second coming of
- 2:36:25Speaker 2: arrowhead stadium no i'm not picking the chargers.
- 2:36:28Speaker 1: Well the reason why i would have picked them is
- 2:36:32Speaker 1: because again look at that i get it's the charges
- 2:36:37Speaker 1: i get they're horrible but you guys know my rule
- 2:36:40Speaker 1: on uh Spreads that are leaning double digits or two
- 2:36:47Speaker 1: score game, double digit. Those scream trap game.
- 2:36:54Speaker 2: Do you really see this Chargers team doing it? I
- 2:36:56Speaker 2: don't think so.
- 2:36:58Speaker 1: Again, I said if this was the reverse location, I
- 2:37:04Speaker 1: might have. But because it's in Kansas City, I'm picking
- 2:37:08Speaker 1: the Chiefs. Now, Brandon, who are you picking, Buffalo or
- 2:37:15Speaker 1: the team that your Patriots just eviscerated, kicked up their
- 2:37:20Speaker 1: feet and said, make me a sandwich?
- 2:37:24Speaker 3: That we fucking did.
- 2:37:26Speaker 2: Here's my hot take. I'm taking the Raiders.
- 2:37:32Speaker 1: That's back to back weeks Nova's riding the Kirko train.
- 2:37:36Speaker 2: No it's not really riding the Kirko train I'm anticipating
- 2:37:39Speaker 2: another defensive disaster class for the Bills.
- 2:37:45Speaker 1: I mean that's fair Brandon who are you taking.
- 2:37:48Speaker 3: I am actually also going to take the Raiders in
- 2:37:50Speaker 3: this one.
- 2:37:51Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 2:37:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was fixing to say. But yes,
- 2:37:58Speaker 3: I am going to take the Raiders in this one.
- 2:38:02Speaker 1: Well, we're going to differ on this one. I am
- 2:38:06Speaker 1: lone wolfing and I'm taking Buffalo.
- 2:38:11Speaker 2: This is less of me thinking that the Bills can win,
- 2:38:15Speaker 2: but I'm more so thinking, hey, if there's a reason
- 2:38:17Speaker 2: the Raiders are going to win, then it's obvious. It's
- 2:38:19Speaker 2: because of the Bills' defense.
- 2:38:23Speaker 1: No, that's fair. And then, God, this week for the
- 2:38:28Speaker 1: primetime game sucks, doesn't it?
- 2:38:31Speaker 2: Nope, we have our daily dose of Cowboys-Packers because everybody
- 2:38:34Speaker 2: in America apparently appreciates it. I'm picking the Packers. I
- 2:38:40Speaker 2: don't believe in the Cowboys.
- 2:38:51Speaker 3: Yeah give me the.
- 2:38:52Speaker 1: Packers yeah I gotta go.
- 2:38:54Speaker 3: With them especially and it's in Lambeau too.
- 2:38:58Speaker 1: Yeah and then also I mean who are the Cowboys
- 2:39:01Speaker 1: corners for Christian Watson and Matthew Golden.
- 2:39:04Speaker 2: Exactly Theron Bland he got.
- 2:39:10Speaker 3: JPJ's also currently sick too so there's no guarantee he
- 2:39:13Speaker 3: plays this week either.
- 2:39:15Speaker 2: I'm just pointing out the names I remember.
- 2:39:17Speaker 1: It sucks, though, Brandon. And I think you would agree
- 2:39:22Speaker 1: with me on this. It sucks that Micah's not in
- 2:39:23Speaker 1: this game.
- 2:39:24Speaker 3: Oh, for sure. But like I said, Joey Porter Jr.
- 2:39:29Speaker 3: is currently questionable from being sick. So there's no guarantee
- 2:39:32Speaker 3: he even plays in this game, even though he probably will.
- 2:39:35Speaker 3: But still, I don't think it's much of a difference
- 2:39:38Speaker 3: there because you have one good corner on two receivers. Like,
- 2:39:41Speaker 3: which one are you guarding? Which one are you guarding?
- 2:39:44Speaker 3: Even if you are healthy. Because he's really their only
- 2:39:49Speaker 3: good corner.
- 2:39:51Speaker 1: No, that's fair. And then Commanders at 49ers. Niners.
- 2:39:56Speaker 3: This is not even a question.
- 2:39:59Speaker 1: Yeah, not for me either. Nova, are you riding with
- 2:40:02Speaker 1: Jaden Daniels?
- 2:40:10Speaker 3: He's deep in thought.
- 2:40:11Speaker 1: He is so deep in thought right now.
- 2:40:14Speaker 3: There's no way you pick the commanders and you don't
- 2:40:17Speaker 3: get drug tested after this.
- 2:40:22Speaker 2: OK, look, I'm not making a decision, but let me
- 2:40:25Speaker 2: tell you this, Brandon. Why would you tell me not
- 2:40:27Speaker 2: to pick a local product that, you know, my local
- 2:40:29Speaker 2: media keeps talking about? Because Jaden Daniels is an Inland
- 2:40:32Speaker 2: Empire all star.
- 2:40:35Speaker 3: How do you not pick the Niners here? Okay, so counterpoint, okay? Counterpoint.
- 2:40:47Speaker 3: Whenever Carlos Watkins was playing for the Cowboys or the
- 2:40:51Speaker 3: Buccaneers or whoever the Texans or whoever the fuck he
- 2:40:55Speaker 3: played for, he is literally from my town 15 minutes
- 2:40:58Speaker 3: down the road. Just because he's a local defensive prodigy
- 2:41:05Speaker 3: that came out of this wretched-ass county, I ain't picking him.
- 2:41:11Speaker 3: Give me the Niners. Give me the Niners by at
- 2:41:14Speaker 3: least 21.
- 2:41:16Speaker 2: That's generous.
- 2:41:17Speaker 3: I don't think that's generous at all.
- 2:41:21Speaker 1: I like how you brought it up, Brandon. What did
- 2:41:25Speaker 1: you say again? Was it your town or was it county?
- 2:41:30Speaker 3: It's county.
- 2:41:31Speaker 1: Okay, because I think I told you guys about this
- 2:41:35Speaker 1: a long time ago. We had a really good running
- 2:41:40Speaker 1: back come out of my alma mater, and he actually
- 2:41:44Speaker 1: played for the 49ers a long time ago.
- 2:41:46Speaker 2: Did he get.
- 2:41:49Speaker 3: Hurt?
- 2:41:50Speaker 1: Did he get hurt? I don't think so.
- 2:41:53Speaker 2: Oh, he defied the substation.
- 2:41:56Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know if you guys ever watched him play.
- 2:41:59Speaker 1: Matt Breida.
- 2:42:01Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I did.
- 2:42:02Speaker 3: I did. Okay.
- 2:42:04Speaker 1: Yeah, he was a local high school product. He actually
- 2:42:07Speaker 1: graduated the year before I graduated.
- 2:42:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so do you guys remember Brandon Spikes? No.
- 2:42:17Speaker 1: Vaguely, that name sounds familiar.
- 2:42:20Speaker 3: So, Brandon Spikes. Brandon Spikes was a defensive linebacker. He
- 2:42:27Speaker 3: actually graduated from the next county over from me. He
- 2:42:33Speaker 3: wound up going to Crest High School. He played at
- 2:42:35Speaker 3: the University of Florida, and he was a linebacker for
- 2:42:38Speaker 3: the Patriots, and he was a linebacker for the Bills.
- 2:42:43Speaker 1: Okay, I'm looking him up, and again, vaguely familiar.
- 2:42:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been a minute. Yeah, it's been a minute.
- 2:42:52Speaker 3: He didn't actually retire. He wound up having some criminal
- 2:42:56Speaker 3: charges happen against him. But yeah, no. Again, just to
- 2:42:59Speaker 3: kind of go back on this, just because someone's like
- 2:43:01Speaker 3: the local media talk, like, fuck them. Show me you
- 2:43:04Speaker 3: can play. Show me you can play, homie. Jaden Daniels
- 2:43:07Speaker 3: ain't showing me he can play. Give me the Niners
- 2:43:10Speaker 3: by 21.
- 2:43:10Speaker 2: So you think his Giants performance was a fluke?
- 2:43:15Speaker 3: It was the Giants. With a second string QB and
- 2:43:21Speaker 3: terrible head coaching and offensive performances from both sides. I'm
- 2:43:25Speaker 3: taking the Niners. I'm taking the Niners by 21. Cash
- 2:43:30Speaker 3: at me a dollar if I'm right.
- 2:43:34Speaker 1: You know, Brandon, even though I am that I'm agreeing
- 2:43:40Speaker 1: with you on San Francisco.
- 2:43:43Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 2:43:43Speaker 1: I might actually be crazy enough to take you up
- 2:43:46Speaker 1: on that.
- 2:43:48Speaker 2: Look, I love that this is the second week in
- 2:43:50Speaker 2: a row I fear a Brandon with a deep thought.
- 2:43:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not a cheer game. It's like, come on, man.
- 2:43:55Speaker 2: Maybe the first time I thought about Miami, and look,
- 2:43:58Speaker 2: it ended up being the closest I thought it would be.
- 2:44:00Speaker 3: Nah, it's not even a thing. That was just a
- 2:44:04Speaker 3: Cincy thing.
- 2:44:04Speaker 2: Here's the thing. I am picking the Niners to win,
- 2:44:07Speaker 2: but I think it's by 10.
- 2:44:11Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:44:13Speaker 2: It's going to be a lot closer than you think.
- 2:44:16Speaker 1: So this week, we differ on the Houston-Jacksonville game. the
- 2:44:21Speaker 1: New Orleans Giants game, and Buffalo and Vegas. Honestly, not
- 2:44:31Speaker 1: a bad discrepancy this week, I would say.
- 2:44:33Speaker 2: Right, guys? I know I'm going to pick the Dolphins
- 2:44:35Speaker 2: one week, and Brandon's not going to hate me for it.
- 2:44:37Speaker 3: I'm finding some way to kick you out of a
- 2:44:40Speaker 3: podcast meeting. I'm not really going to do that. Let's
- 2:44:43Speaker 3: go ahead and clarify that. I'm not really going to
- 2:44:45Speaker 3: do that. But somebody around your neighborhood might have a
- 2:44:49Speaker 3: car on fire. Who knows?
- 2:44:54Speaker 1: And Nova, think about it. Every episode so far, we
- 2:44:57Speaker 1: have gotten Brandon to say that he is going to
- 2:45:00Speaker 1: set a car on fire. That a car will magically
- 2:45:04Speaker 1: catch fire.
- 2:45:07Speaker 2: I'm just saying, I know I'm going to pick the
- 2:45:09Speaker 2: Dolphins for one of these weeks. I just don't know
- 2:45:10Speaker 2: which one. Oh, God.
- 2:45:13Speaker 1: We'll kick that can down. down the road but um
- 2:45:18Speaker 1: but think but think about it brandon though um we
- 2:45:21Speaker 1: do have atlanta regionals coming up in three months maybe
- 2:45:24Speaker 1: nova takes a flight over to atlanta.
- 2:45:28Speaker 2: You'd be lucky if i could.
- 2:45:32Speaker 1: Never know.
- 2:45:35Speaker 3: I'm just gonna go ahead and point out here just
- 2:45:38Speaker 3: real quick before we wrap up here since we were
- 2:45:40Speaker 3: already running really long um The rest of the schedule
- 2:45:45Speaker 3: for the Dolphins, and I'm not going to specify between
- 2:45:50Speaker 3: home and away, Jets, Patriots, Lions, Colts, Bills, Jets, Broncos, Bears, Packers, Chargers, Bills, Patriots.
- 2:46:00Speaker 3: I don't think they win any of those games.
- 2:46:02Speaker 2: I think they win three of them.
- 2:46:04Speaker 3: That's fucking generous. God damn it.
- 2:46:07Speaker 5: Jesus.
- 2:46:10Speaker 3: Anyway, we'll discuss that one at a later time down
- 2:46:12Speaker 3: the road.
- 2:46:14Speaker 1: Honestly, and this one might be crazy, Brandon, I think
- 2:46:20Speaker 1: I may take him against one of those Jet games.
- 2:46:24Speaker 3: That's fine, though. Jets are going to Jet, though. But
- 2:46:26Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised if they lose both of them anyway.
- 2:46:28Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised either. But, ladies and gentlemen, that
- 2:46:35Speaker 1: is going to end... That's going to end episode number
- 2:46:39Speaker 1: 12 of the Ruffling the Feathers podcast. And again, it's
- 2:46:43Speaker 1: a lot of fun when we get to talk about
- 2:46:46Speaker 1: this stuff and, you know, just get Brandon ready to
- 2:46:50Speaker 1: immolate something.
- 2:46:51Speaker 5: Immolate Washington if they fucking win that game somehow.
- 2:47:02Speaker 2: If you are, I need to hear you talk about
- 2:47:04Speaker 2: Jaden Daniels.
- 2:47:05Speaker 3: Jesus Christ. I'd rather talk about him than fucking Deshaun Watson.
- 2:47:12Speaker 1: Oh, man. It's going to be an interesting week six.
- 2:47:15Speaker 1: I think that's self-explanatory, but again, ladies and gentlemen, thank
- 2:47:21Speaker 1: you so much for listening in to the podcast. We
- 2:47:24Speaker 1: appreciate every single one of you guys who listen in
- 2:47:27Speaker 1: wherever you get your podcasts from. What I can't– I
- 2:47:33Speaker 1: think what I'll leave with is that, you know, Wherever
- 2:47:38Speaker 1: you are, just be safe because we all need to
- 2:47:43Speaker 1: be safe. And also, Brandon, I think I might hate
- 2:47:48Speaker 1: the Carolinas right now just because temperatures are getting absolutely
- 2:47:51Speaker 1: gorgeous there.
- 2:47:53Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 2:47:54Speaker 3: It's very nice here.
- 2:47:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I would kill for Florida to have Carolina weather
- 2:48:02Speaker 1: this time of year.
- 2:48:04Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 2:48:07Speaker 1: Uh, but Brandon, you got any final thoughts?
- 2:48:10Speaker 3: Uh, I just have one and it's kind of not
- 2:48:12Speaker 3: football related, uh, to be completely honest with you. I'll take,
- 2:48:15Speaker 3: I know we kind of joke around a lot and
- 2:48:17Speaker 3: I know we kind of, you know, goof off and we,
- 2:48:19Speaker 3: we kind of clash with each other a little bit,
- 2:48:21Speaker 3: kind of talk over each other and none of it's
- 2:48:23Speaker 3: purely intentional. It's all in good fun. But one thing
- 2:48:26Speaker 3: that I did kind of want to bring some attention to, um,
- 2:48:29Speaker 3: here lately is, and this has kind of been something
- 2:48:32Speaker 3: that's kind of even heavy on my mind lately, especially
- 2:48:34Speaker 3: with some incidents that have occurred with me. And I'm
- 2:48:38Speaker 3: not going to go into any details outside of this
- 2:48:40Speaker 3: just for the sake of time. If you or someone
- 2:48:43Speaker 3: that you know of is struggling mentally, and you know
- 2:48:48Speaker 3: this person is, or you can see the signs of
- 2:48:53Speaker 3: any sort of depression, any sort of abnormal behavior from
- 2:48:59Speaker 3: a person, please be the person that reaches out. Because
- 2:49:03Speaker 3: you don't know what a person is going through in
- 2:49:04Speaker 3: their day-to-day life. You don't know what's going on in
- 2:49:06Speaker 3: their background. They can come to work every day with
- 2:49:08Speaker 3: a smile on their face. Just be aware of your surroundings.
- 2:49:13Speaker 3: Keep your head on a swivel. And everybody just be
- 2:49:17Speaker 3: there for each other at the end of the day.
- 2:49:18Speaker 1: Honestly, couldn't agree more with that, Brandon. Do we have...
- 2:49:25Speaker 1: I think I have... Okay, we do have.
- 2:49:36Speaker 3: I forgot that was on the soundboard.
- 2:49:39Speaker 1: I mean, it's a perfect one for, for stuff like that. Um,
- 2:49:44Speaker 1: and then Nova final thoughts.
- 2:49:45Speaker 2: Uh, I mean, obviously I want to say special shout
- 2:49:50Speaker 2: out to Jeff Gorham and, uh, to Pat Fernandez back
- 2:49:52Speaker 2: over and IEMG and as well as, uh, because, uh,
- 2:49:56Speaker 2: you guys do a real ones for me.
- 2:49:57Speaker 3: I mean, sure.
- 2:49:58Speaker 2: We do joke around, goof around, you know, I may
- 2:49:59Speaker 2: be like the serious person, but, uh, Y'all are real
- 2:50:03Speaker 2: ones out there, so thank you.
- 2:50:04Speaker 1: Also, the Chargers are.
- 2:50:07Speaker 2: The worst team in football. Don't at me.
- 2:50:10Speaker 1: Well, I think that's a good way to end it,
- 2:50:13Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. We will be back next week with
- 2:50:16Speaker 1: another episode of the Ruffling the Feathers podcast. And hopefully
- 2:50:20Speaker 1: all three of us will be in a happy mood.
- 2:50:24Speaker 1: Because the good thing is we don't have to worry
- 2:50:25Speaker 1: about facing each other anymore this year. Oh, my God.
- 2:50:28Speaker 2: Thanks for reminding me. I love how the one week
- 2:50:30Speaker 2: that all of our teams won, I was the one
- 2:50:32Speaker 2: that was unhappy. Yeah.
- 2:50:36Speaker 1: You know, Brent, I forgot about that. Am I right? Yeah, sure.
- 2:50:40Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:50:41Speaker 1: Well, ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for listening
- 2:50:44Speaker 1: in for another episode. We will see you next week,
- 2:50:47Speaker 1: but until next time, stay frosty.
