- 0:00Speaker 1: And I'm wondering if there are things echoing in your
- 0:02Speaker 1: head right now that are stopping you from living your
- 0:05Speaker 1: best life because you will outsilence him by speaking back.
- 0:11Speaker 1: What do you remember when life get hard, when things
- 0:16Speaker 1: get tough, when friends get few? There are how to
- 0:20Speaker 1: be something in your life that you remember God brought
- 0:23Speaker 1: you through, or brought you from, or brought you out
- 0:27Speaker 1: of that feeds you. It's important that you have something
- 0:31Speaker 1: to remember, something on God's resume that you know that
- 0:35Speaker 1: you know that you know that He did for you,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and it tells you that if God would do that,
- 0:40Speaker 1: he can do this.
- 0:44Speaker 2: This is the end.
- 0:47Speaker 1: You're going to lose everything. You won't come out of this.
- 0:54Speaker 1: You're not smart enough, you're not bright enough. You waited
- 0:58Speaker 1: too late. You should have started younger. Those are the
- 1:02Speaker 1: kind of voices that we all live with. For me,
- 1:06Speaker 1: our ministry was growing. We lived in a nice house,
- 1:10Speaker 1: nice house we'd ever had, driving a nice car, living
- 1:14Speaker 1: from paycheck to paycheck, but making it. Every night. I
- 1:21Speaker 1: lay down at night, after she goes to sleep, I
- 1:26Speaker 1: hear the voices. Those voices are the kind of voices
- 1:31Speaker 1: that stop you from buying into your own life, stop
- 1:36Speaker 1: you from enjoying the good times and believing that they
- 1:39Speaker 1: will last. The anxiety and the pressure and the strength
- 1:43Speaker 1: that it took to get from where you were to
- 1:45Speaker 1: where you are doesn't go away, so you don't really
- 1:50Speaker 1: believe it's yours. You're driving it, but you don't really
- 1:54Speaker 1: believe it's yours, and you're scared to relax and really
- 1:58Speaker 1: rest in whatever it is or whoever it is, because
- 2:06Speaker 1: everything else went away, maybe this will go away too.
- 2:12Speaker 1: We talk about faith for bad times, but you also
- 2:15Speaker 1: need faith in good times to actually believe the goodness
- 2:22Speaker 1: of God is not going anywhere, to silence the voices
- 2:29Speaker 1: that keep saying you'll never make it. You're about to
- 2:31Speaker 1: lose everything. Fear gets in your heart. See, I know
- 2:38Speaker 1: what it's like to be poor, and I know what
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's like to be without, and I know what it's
- 2:43Speaker 1: like not to have dinner for my kids. Returning to that,
- 2:49Speaker 1: the idea that that could happen is terrifying. And the
- 2:54Speaker 1: enemy always has some sort of tool or memory or
- 2:57Speaker 1: situation that he uses to tear fire you. Even though
- 3:01Speaker 1: the good times are here and the dream is there,
- 3:05Speaker 1: the blessing is there, and the goodness is there, but
- 3:08Speaker 1: there's always this haunting, nagging defiance that says, don't you relax,
- 3:18Speaker 1: You're not worth it, you don't deserve it, and it's
- 3:23Speaker 1: not going to last. Resting in what God has done
- 3:29Speaker 1: it is often more difficult than receiving what God has done.
- 3:35Speaker 1: To rest in it, to believe that it will last.
- 3:41Speaker 1: To believe that you will last, a love will last,
- 3:43Speaker 1: that that life will last, that good times will come,
- 3:46Speaker 1: that things will be better, is difficult because of the voices.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And you are what you eat, and the voices are
- 3:53Speaker 1: the food that feeds your faith or fear. So if
- 3:59Speaker 1: you want it your diet, you can change your outcome,
- 4:05Speaker 1: but you have to stop talking to yourself the way
- 4:08Speaker 1: you do, because if you continue to talk to yourself
- 4:11Speaker 1: the way you do, you will always be where you've
- 4:13Speaker 1: always been. It is what you say within yourself that
- 4:17Speaker 1: heals you. The woman with Israel blood said to herself,
- 4:22Speaker 1: if I can but touch to him of his garment,
- 4:24Speaker 1: I'll be made whole. There was no scripture to validate that.
- 4:30Speaker 1: She can say she wasn't quoting Douteronomy or do numbers
- 4:33Speaker 1: or anything like that.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's just something she said to herself.
- 4:37Speaker 1: There was no doctrine around it. We've never seen that
- 4:41Speaker 1: happen before. But she said to herself, if I can
- 4:45Speaker 1: but touch to him of his garment, I'll be made whole.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And although she was crawling, she kept saying, over and
- 4:52Speaker 1: over again, if I can just touch it, if I
- 4:53Speaker 1: can just touch, if I can just touch, if I
- 4:55Speaker 1: can just touch him of them, and without Jesus' permission,
- 5:01Speaker 1: I was out the support of the disciples. She creeped
- 5:05Speaker 1: up on him and snatched a miracle, snatched it, snatched
- 5:13Speaker 1: it because of what she said to herself. You see
- 5:18Speaker 1: those voices that say, what you can't do, what you
- 5:20Speaker 1: can't have, what you can't be, what's not gonna last,
- 5:22Speaker 1: what's not gonna work is how the enemy pulverizes the
- 5:26Speaker 1: promises of God in your life.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And it takes word to combat word.
- 5:32Speaker 1: That's why when Jesus was in the wilderness and Satan
- 5:35Speaker 1: was throwing word at him, he was throwing word back.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And what we have to do is put word on word.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I'm blessed.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm blessed in the city, I'm blessed in the field,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I'm blessed in my uprising, I'm blessed in my down setting.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'll be blessed in to my old age. I'll be
- 5:52Speaker 1: blessed when I'm an old man. My grandchildren will be blessed.
- 5:56Speaker 1: My body is blessed, my body is, my mind is blessed,
- 6:00Speaker 1: my head is blessed. I got this. I can handle it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I can do it. Bring it home. Hideous. That kind
- 6:07Speaker 1: of talk. Saying that to yourself drives back the other
- 6:12Speaker 1: voices of negativity that we all have creep up behind
- 6:16Speaker 1: us and tell us that we're not capable, and we're
- 6:19Speaker 1: not competent, and we're not gifted enough, and we're not
- 6:23Speaker 1: good enough, and we waited too late, or God is
- 6:26Speaker 1: punishing us to talk back to those voices shut seeing
- 6:32Speaker 1: me down. The pressure I was going through I was
- 6:37Speaker 1: causing because the pressure I was going through was coming
- 6:42Speaker 1: from the things that I allowed to reverberate in my head.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And I'm wondering if there are things echoing in your
- 6:49Speaker 1: head right now that are stopping you from living your
- 6:52Speaker 1: best life, because you will out silence them by speaking back.
- 6:59Speaker 1: You shall have whatever you say, so says the Word
- 7:06Speaker 1: of God. You shall have whatever you say. If it's betrayal,
- 7:12Speaker 1: you shall have whatever you say. If it's a life
- 7:16Speaker 1: without love. You shall have whatever you say. It doesn't
- 7:20Speaker 1: just work positively, it also works negatively. You shall have
- 7:24Speaker 1: whatever you say. She touched him and she was made hole,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and he says, who touched me, which means he's oblivious
- 7:34Speaker 1: to what's going on. This is all happening in her head.
- 7:39Speaker 1: The whole thing happened in her head. And the Lord
- 7:42Speaker 1: who is on missing and ask a question who touched me?
- 7:47Speaker 1: And the disciples, wanting to be important to answer to him,
- 7:50Speaker 1: said everybody touch you. He said, no, no, no, no, no,
- 7:52Speaker 1: no no no, that's not what I'm talking about. Everybody
- 7:55Speaker 1: around me, don't touch me. Everybody around me, don't touch me.
- 7:59Speaker 1: You've been said, everybody around me, don't touch me. Just
- 8:01Speaker 1: because you're around me don't mean you touch me. Somebody
- 8:04Speaker 1: touched me. Somebody touched me. And she came out from
- 8:07Speaker 1: the christ chiefest lea and said it was me, It
- 8:11Speaker 1: was me. She got a miracle while Jesus wasn't looking
- 8:18Speaker 1: because of what she said to herself. That's what I
- 8:23Speaker 1: want you to see and stop letting those other words question.
- 8:31Speaker 1: When I say excellent, you say excellent, excellent, excellent.
- 8:37Speaker 2: The problem is.
- 8:39Speaker 1: We all said the same word, But we don't all
- 8:43Speaker 1: mean the same thing, because what you call excellent what
- 8:47Speaker 1: I call excellent maybe two different things. Based on the
- 8:51Speaker 1: lives we've lived, the things we've experienced, the places we've
- 8:55Speaker 1: been exposed to. Our ideas of excellent may very drastically
- 9:01Speaker 1: based on how we define excellence. The problem with the
- 9:06Speaker 1: English language is that it is limited to interpretation. So
- 9:11Speaker 1: how do you know when I say I love you
- 9:12Speaker 1: that I mean what you meant when you said you
- 9:14Speaker 1: loved me. So we're having a conversation and I am
- 9:19Speaker 1: making an assumption that your love is my love, and
- 9:22Speaker 1: it may not be at all. Or we're planning a
- 9:25Speaker 1: banquet and I make an assumption that your excellent is
- 9:30Speaker 1: my excellent, and it may not be at all. Because
- 9:36Speaker 1: the reality about it is, your definition of excellent rises
- 9:41Speaker 1: no higher than your level of exposure, whatever you've been
- 9:47Speaker 1: exposed to. That becomes the new paradigm of what excellent
- 9:52Speaker 1: is to you, and it shifts from day to day.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And the hardest thing in the world is to have
- 9:57Speaker 1: a conversation with somebody and all you have to use
- 10:01Speaker 1: this words because I'm not sure that you mean what
- 10:06Speaker 1: I mean when I say excellent. I'm not sure that
- 10:11Speaker 1: you mean what I mean when I say love. I'm
- 10:14Speaker 1: not sure you mean what I mean when I say loyal.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I'm not sure you mean what I mean when I
- 10:23Speaker 1: say hurt. Because all we have it's worse. The reality
- 10:33Speaker 1: is we have to make up in our minds that
- 10:37Speaker 1: whatever our definition of excellency is, it's gonna change. It's
- 10:45Speaker 1: gonna get higher, it's gonna get broader, it's gonna get better,
- 10:49Speaker 1: it's gonna be different, or it's gonna go down. And
- 10:54Speaker 1: a lot of it depends on who you hang around. Now,
- 10:57Speaker 1: what you're exposed to. There are people that take you up.
- 10:59Speaker 1: There people they bring you down. They bring you down
- 11:02Speaker 1: to their level of excellence. That's what a job description
- 11:06Speaker 1: for a hater looks like. The job description of the
- 11:10Speaker 1: hater is to bring you down to the level that
- 11:13Speaker 1: they are on, so that while they're trying to pull
- 11:17Speaker 1: you down, I'm trying to get up. And if I'm
- 11:21Speaker 1: going to get up, I have to know that there's
- 11:23Speaker 1: going to be a cost in getting up. I'm going
- 11:26Speaker 1: to have to put my back to it or it's
- 11:27Speaker 1: not going to happen. God wants somebody to work with
- 11:30Speaker 1: him and give what it takes to make it happen.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Is it worth it?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Absolutely? I do not want to die. Let me explain.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I was born in between two dead babies. The baby
- 11:47Speaker 1: before me died, the baby after me died. I was
- 11:50Speaker 1: raised by dying father. And I do not want to
- 11:55Speaker 1: live my life and die and at the last moment
- 11:59Speaker 1: of my life ask this question, wonder what would have
- 12:03Speaker 1: happened if I'd have pushed it a little harder.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I don't want to get down to the end of
- 12:09Speaker 2: the road and wonder.
- 12:12Speaker 1: What would have happened if I'd have pushed a little harder.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I don't want to wonder that. I want to get
- 12:18Speaker 1: down to the end of the road. Like Paul and say,
- 12:20Speaker 1: I fought a good fight, I kept the faith, I
- 12:24Speaker 1: finished my course, and now later for me is a
- 12:26Speaker 1: crowd of rights is in the heaven. I don't want
- 12:29Speaker 1: to get down to my last breath and wonder what
- 12:31Speaker 1: would have happened if I went back to school, if
- 12:33Speaker 1: I took a course, if I worked a little harder,
- 12:36Speaker 1: if I changed the way I addressed, if I changed
- 12:37Speaker 1: the way I talk to me. Boy, if I forgave somebody,
- 12:40Speaker 1: if I release somebody. I don't want to wonder about nothing,
- 12:46Speaker 1: because that's excellence.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Excellence.
- 12:54Speaker 1: It's a come out with the conclusion, I have no regrets.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I have no.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Regrets. The wine he is reducing is greater than the
- 13:11Speaker 1: pain you are experiencing. And if you allow him to
- 13:16Speaker 1: take you through the process, when he says excellent and
- 13:21Speaker 1: you say excellent, they will mean the same thing. The
- 13:29Speaker 1: dying words of the thief on the cross was remember me.
- 13:36Speaker 1: The words of Jesus at the Last Supper is as
- 13:40Speaker 1: often as you do this, you do this in remembrance
- 13:43Speaker 1: of me? What does remember me? Remember? Re put back
- 13:52Speaker 1: together again? Remember me? We remember what God has done.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That becomes the foundation on which we build our lives. Now,
- 14:07Speaker 1: a house is not a foundation, and nobody can live
- 14:10Speaker 1: in a foundation, but it has to have a foundation
- 14:14Speaker 1: in order to be a house. And I'm not suggesting
- 14:16Speaker 1: that your life begins, ends and all through the middle
- 14:20Speaker 1: is nothing but Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Because you got to
- 14:22Speaker 1: take out the trash. You gotta brush your teeth, you
- 14:24Speaker 1: got to comb your hair, you gotta get your nails done,
- 14:26Speaker 1: you gotta get your feet done, or you're gonna cut
- 14:28Speaker 1: your blankets when you land in the bed tonight all
- 14:31Speaker 1: of that happens.
- 14:32Speaker 2: But I am saying that God is the foundation. When
- 14:37Speaker 2: God delivered the children.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Of Vidua out of Egypt, he did it as a
- 14:40Speaker 1: foundation for them to remember, And all through the whole
- 14:43Speaker 1: Testament he says, over and over again, am I not
- 14:46Speaker 1: the God who brought you out from the red See?
- 14:49Speaker 1: Am I not the God who brought you out by
- 14:51Speaker 1: my own hand and my strong arm. It becomes a
- 14:54Speaker 1: point of reference to which you face the future remembering
- 14:59Speaker 1: what He did in the past, remembering it, putting it
- 15:02Speaker 1: back together again again and again, and recreating it as
- 15:06Speaker 1: a point of reference to fight from, to stand from,
- 15:09Speaker 1: to drive from, to to preach from, to teach from.
- 15:13Speaker 2: What do you have to remember?
- 15:17Speaker 1: It's important that you have something to remember, something on
- 15:20Speaker 1: God's resume that you know that you know that, you
- 15:23Speaker 1: know that He did for you. And it tells you
- 15:25Speaker 1: that if God would do that.
- 15:27Speaker 2: He can do this.
- 15:29Speaker 1: If he can drive back the Red Sea and bring
- 15:31Speaker 1: me across on dry land, then he can fight you off.
- 15:34Speaker 1: He can deal with their Aleekites and the Hittites, and
- 15:36Speaker 1: the Jemishites and the Garashites. God does certain things so
- 15:40Speaker 1: you will have something to remember, a point of reference
- 15:43Speaker 1: to what you build your life upon, and you stand
- 15:46Speaker 1: on it and you say, I'm not sure about this,
- 15:48Speaker 1: and I'm not sure about that, but this one thing
- 15:51Speaker 1: I do know. You have to know this. You have
- 15:54Speaker 1: to know this and your knower. You have to know
- 15:57Speaker 1: this when your girlfriend doesn't know it, when you're prayer
- 15:59Speaker 1: warriors don't know, when your children don't know it, when
- 16:01Speaker 1: your mama doesn't know it. Something that you know that
- 16:04Speaker 1: you know that you know becomes the catalysts against the trials,
- 16:09Speaker 1: against the traumas, against the sleepless nights, against the virus,
- 16:13Speaker 1: against the crisis, against the times.
- 16:15Speaker 2: That we're living in.
- 16:16Speaker 1: We have been living in the most perilous times that
- 16:19Speaker 1: we have seen in a hundred years. We are fighting
- 16:22Speaker 1: an invisible enemy, and that enemy has friends that has
- 16:27Speaker 1: created trauma and distress until we are overwhelmed. Even when
- 16:32Speaker 1: nothing else is going wrong, just the feeling that other
- 16:35Speaker 1: people are going wrong gives us a certain degree of
- 16:38Speaker 1: stress and trauma. How do we stand up against this
- 16:43Speaker 1: unseen foe we fight?
- 16:44Speaker 2: Right now?
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm talking about your emotions, your will, your spirit, your fight,
- 16:48Speaker 1: your drive, your tenacity, your sense of normalcy, your courage
- 16:53Speaker 1: to get out of the house, your courage to get
- 16:55Speaker 1: out of the bed, the courage to continue when there's
- 16:58Speaker 1: a threat, requires that there's something about God that you
- 17:07Speaker 1: have to remember. For the children of Israel, it was
- 17:10Speaker 1: the blood of the Lamb that was painted on the doorposts,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and death Angel passed by and said, when I see
- 17:16Speaker 1: the blood, I will pass over you. It was walking
- 17:20Speaker 1: out to the Red Sea and hearing six hundred chosen
- 17:24Speaker 1: chariots coming, with failure of chasing them down, saying I'm
- 17:27Speaker 1: gonna get you back. He was gonna get them back.
- 17:30Speaker 1: But let me tell you a secret. He was also
- 17:32Speaker 1: trying to get back the wealth they take it for
- 17:35Speaker 1: the wealth of the unjust had been laid up for
- 17:37Speaker 1: the just, and they had borrowed all the gold and
- 17:40Speaker 1: all the silver, and they had broken the GDP of Egypt.
- 17:44Speaker 1: It wasn't just the slaves he wanted. He wanted the
- 17:46Speaker 1: money by, he wanted the jewels, he wanted the gold,
- 17:49Speaker 1: he wanted the silver, he wanted the things that the
- 17:51Speaker 1: tabernacle would actually end up being built by. He was
- 17:54Speaker 1: trying to get it all back. He could have got
- 17:56Speaker 1: some more slaves anywhere. He was trying to get what
- 17:58Speaker 1: they had borrowed. They had borrowed. The whole economy of
- 18:02Speaker 1: Egypt was running through the Red Sea for the wealth
- 18:06Speaker 1: of the unjustice laid up for the jests. And when
- 18:10Speaker 1: God brings you out, he brings out enough for your children.
- 18:12Speaker 1: The Bible says that God put so much wealth on
- 18:15Speaker 1: them that the children had to carry on their backs
- 18:18Speaker 1: the wealth that God placed on them. I want the
- 18:21Speaker 1: kind of blessing that affects my children and my children's
- 18:24Speaker 1: children and my children's children's children. I want my grandchildren
- 18:29Speaker 1: to blow kisses at my picture when I'm deady gone.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I want them to be able to say, if it
- 18:34Speaker 1: hadn't been for that old man, I'd have never been
- 18:36Speaker 1: able to go to college. I'd have never been able
- 18:38Speaker 1: to get a job. I'd have never been able to
- 18:40Speaker 1: work for Google. I'd have never been able to work
- 18:42Speaker 1: for Xerox. I'd have never been able to preach the gospel.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I would have never been able to do it. I
- 18:48Speaker 1: want that for them. So I have to have something
- 18:51Speaker 1: to remember that I can count on that won't break.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And I want to ask you, what do you remember
- 19:00Speaker 1: when life get hard, when things get tough, when friends
- 19:05Speaker 1: get few there. How to be something in your life
- 19:09Speaker 1: that you remember God brought you through, or brought you from,
- 19:13Speaker 1: or brought you out of, that feeds you, That is
- 19:18Speaker 1: the foundation that makes you to rise above the crushing
- 19:23Speaker 1: and turns crape juice into absolute mind.
