- 1:38Speaker 1: This is sitting around the TV.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Maybe you're enjoying Yeah, maybe you're enjoying the even time
- 1:43Speaker 2: with the cocktail. Matter of fact, I do have a
- 1:45Speaker 2: question from a YouTuber Big Dinos Underscore Underscore on YouTube
- 1:51Speaker 2: or maybe just big Dinos, Yeah, Big Dinos. Is it
- 1:53Speaker 2: recommended to watch this show with a cocktail or a coffee?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Asking for a friend? Ooh, there's not a right there's
- 1:59Speaker 2: not a right answer there. Maybe you're in the morning
- 2:01Speaker 2: heading to work and you're just you want some hot
- 2:03Speaker 2: black coffee you love listening to for the dads, or
- 2:06Speaker 2: maybe you wait till the evening time. I did see
- 2:07Speaker 2: another commenter saying he listened to the audio he can't
- 2:10Speaker 2: wait to watch it with his wife when he gets
- 2:12Speaker 2: home in the evening time. Maybe with a cocktail. But
- 2:15Speaker 2: there's no wrong answer here. We are happy you're here. Uh,
- 2:18Speaker 2: this is a show for the dads. Also, we know
- 2:20Speaker 2: that there's some some milk teams that goes out there,
- 2:23Speaker 2: some Milk Team sixers.
- 2:24Speaker 1: That's the mamas.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe we got some moms out there watching with
- 2:27Speaker 2: their with their husband.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Uh.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Maybe you're a Seeman Team sixer. That is that is
- 2:31Speaker 2: the young man's game. You're you're you know, you're playing
- 2:33Speaker 2: for the love of the sport. The leader, your leader
- 2:36Speaker 2: for Seemen Team six is Chef Jack. He is a producer.
- 2:39Speaker 1: In the back.
- 2:39Speaker 2: We got the goom berets or you're just you know,
- 2:42Speaker 2: they keep you on your toes. Yeah, that's the young
- 2:44Speaker 2: generation right there. You don't know what they might tune
- 2:47Speaker 2: in for the dads.
- 2:47Speaker 1: They might not. They're they're chasing, they're out, they're chasing.
- 2:51Speaker 1: They might listen while they're playing Rocket League or call
- 2:54Speaker 1: a dude.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, something like that, or trying to troll or
- 2:58Speaker 2: drop memes on the Internet or something swag or something yeah,
- 3:02Speaker 2: something like that. And then you got the Papa Team sixers.
- 3:04Speaker 2: That's the that's the dad military, that's the dad army.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Matter of fact, there is a call to action right now.
- 3:10Speaker 2: We are pressuring Ollipop to make a pop a drink
- 3:15Speaker 2: six drink because they are a new sponsor of our
- 3:17Speaker 2: show and we love Ollipop. If you listened to us
- 3:19Speaker 2: last week, we went on like a five minute segment
- 3:21Speaker 2: about Ollipop. My favorite is grape Shirm's ripping the vintage
- 3:26Speaker 2: cold of there. I personally again, if you weren't listening
- 3:29Speaker 2: last week, Ollipop grape is a top three drink in
- 3:34Speaker 2: my life. Classic grape, classic grape, Ollipop, classic grape. When
- 3:40Speaker 2: I got my little gas station runs in the evening
- 3:42Speaker 2: times every now and then, it's an ali it's for
- 3:44Speaker 2: an ollipop grape yep, and for a little bit in
- 3:46Speaker 2: the old lip. Yeah, you know what I mean. Get
- 3:49Speaker 2: ready to play some pubg with the boys.
- 3:52Speaker 1: What do we got man? What's uh? What's new with you?
- 3:55Speaker 1: We got a lot to cover on this ship. We
- 3:57Speaker 1: we actually do have a ton to cover. I we
- 4:01Speaker 1: were talking before the show. I do have a public
- 4:04Speaker 1: apology that I just got one to knock out. A
- 4:06Speaker 1: public apology, public apology PSA. I just want to get
- 4:09Speaker 1: it out of the way and then that way we
- 4:12Speaker 1: can dive into comments and we can talk and catch
- 4:14Speaker 1: up about everything, but.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I public apology, public apologies truly Forrat Stafford, Fat Stafford,
- 4:20Speaker 2: Willie one shelf over here. Yes, let new dads know
- 4:23Speaker 2: before you hit the public apology, what dads can be expecting,
- 4:27Speaker 2: or moms, or you just love listening to the boys,
- 4:30Speaker 2: maybe you love some dad talk.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Maybe you're not a father yet.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yes, tell them what they can expect to hear in
- 4:36Speaker 2: our episodes before your public apology.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Before the public apology. Here's a really good breakdown of
- 4:42Speaker 1: the show. You're new, you just clicked on this things
- 4:45Speaker 1: you could potentially see. You could potentially see Willy one
- 4:48Speaker 1: shelf over here, Will Compton or Fat Stafford, Sherman Young
- 4:52Speaker 1: over here, bawling our eyes out, talking about how much
- 4:55Speaker 1: we love our daughters, maybe reading a comment for one
- 4:58Speaker 1: of our listeners about how much they love their kids.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Vulnerable comments have been coming in, ye, vulnerable comments. But
- 5:04Speaker 1: then let's then turn the knob and maybe two minutes
- 5:07Speaker 1: later we're talking about mounting our wives. We're giggling, we're farting, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 5:14Speaker 1: we're the highs and lows of fathers, the highs and
- 5:16Speaker 1: lows of fatherhood. Yeah. And then quickly followed by h
- 5:20Speaker 1: hey kids show, let's tone it down. What are we doing?
- 5:23Speaker 1: But it's a great mix. I think I think people
- 5:26Speaker 1: are having fun with it.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Yeah, great mix of our experiences in fatherhood as a
- 5:32Speaker 2: husband telling stories.
- 5:34Speaker 1: That moment of when you spell a cuss word in
- 5:37Speaker 1: front of your kid, or like spell a word that
- 5:39Speaker 1: you don't want them to know. Yeah, that's like this podcast.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Is that moment manifested? I like that.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like when they get old enough to know
- 5:50Speaker 2: like milk, and you're just telling your wife, Hey.
- 5:53Speaker 1: The m I LK? Did you have it? Did we
- 5:55Speaker 1: run out of it? Yeah? Did we run out of it?
- 5:57Speaker 2: I don't want to say the word in front of
- 5:58Speaker 2: it right now because it's gonna it's gonna perker up
- 6:00Speaker 2: and then she's gonna.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Start yelling at me for some milk. She just cleaned
- 6:03Speaker 1: her plate, but I just checked. We're out of c
- 6:05Speaker 1: O O K I E s. Yeah, w tf are
- 6:08Speaker 1: we gonna do? Yeah? The cookies?
- 6:10Speaker 2: That's a that is one that you have to spell out, like, Hey,
- 6:14Speaker 2: you think she's gonna ask about the c O O
- 6:16Speaker 2: K I S? Because we are out? We do need
- 6:19Speaker 2: to pivot. Is it going to be the A P
- 6:21Speaker 2: P l E s a ucee you pick up what
- 6:26Speaker 2: I'm putting down.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and if they and you know they love that
- 6:30Speaker 1: s a U se Yeah, and Dad's sitting there too
- 6:33Speaker 1: with mom's spelling out. They're like, you know, trying to
- 6:37Speaker 1: keep up. Hang on, let me let me draw this
- 6:39Speaker 1: out of my head. What's that? Oh apple sauce?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, sweetheart, you don't have to spell the whole word, you.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Just the MT sixers at home are like perfectly following along,
- 6:50Speaker 1: and some of the dads watching there like yeah, yeah,
- 6:54Speaker 1: what what rewind that back? What do you just spell? Brandon?
- 6:58Speaker 1: You know he's he's spelling yas spelling it, but yeah
- 7:05Speaker 1: and uh. As always we do have our six to
- 7:08Speaker 1: oh one the dads call in the hot line, the
- 7:12Speaker 1: hotline that we go through. If you're an international listener,
- 7:17Speaker 1: or maybe you're just long winded you like writing, you
- 7:20Speaker 1: can also email us at six oh onethedads at gmail
- 7:23Speaker 1: dot com. That's six oh onethedads at gmail dot com,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and we will read those emails on the show as well.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yes, we play some voicemails, We read the emails, we
- 7:33Speaker 2: read some comments. Continue to engage with us at for
- 7:36Speaker 2: the Dad's Pod across all social media channels YouTube. They're
- 7:40Speaker 2: running it up every week. There's always great comments in
- 7:43Speaker 2: the YouTube channel. We try to read as many as
- 7:45Speaker 2: we can, can't get to all of them. We do
- 7:47Speaker 2: very much appreciate how much engagement, how much community this
- 7:50Speaker 2: for the Dad's Podcast has been building. But now that
- 7:53Speaker 2: we have that out of the way, go ahead give
- 7:56Speaker 2: your public apology.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't even know what you're apologizing for. Okay.
- 8:01Speaker 1: We covered what some would say is touchy stuff yesterday
- 8:06Speaker 1: with how we met our wives last week? Last week, Yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 1: I say yesterday. Yeah, it's okay, though I don't know
- 8:12Speaker 1: what day the week it is. We don't when you're
- 8:14Speaker 1: in the trenches, it's just a running clock. It is
- 8:17Speaker 1: the fact that I'm here at work doing my job.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It's a win. Yeah, that's a win. So last week
- 8:24Speaker 1: Will talked about how he met his wife. I talked
- 8:26Speaker 1: about how I met my wife, the moment that I
- 8:28Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh, this is going to be
- 8:30Speaker 1: my wife. I'm in love with her. Will I pretty
- 8:33Speaker 1: much got everything wrong during that segment. Did you really? Oh? Yeah,
- 8:38Speaker 1: Coach Jill set me down and have me watching tape
- 8:41Speaker 1: coach Saban. She was like, what the fuck are you
- 8:44Speaker 1: talking about here? Heavy cream and a lollipop? Are you crazy?
- 8:49Speaker 1: And if we want, we can pause, roll the tape,
- 8:54Speaker 1: welcome back. So I said that her actual drink that
- 8:57Speaker 1: she made not because she was trying to be held
- 9:00Speaker 1: the will, because she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during
- 9:03Speaker 1: pregnancy is the reason she made this drink. She is
- 9:07Speaker 1: not a psychopath. And I quote Chabanni sweet creamer with
- 9:14Speaker 1: lollipop banana cream was her drink. So let me say
- 9:19Speaker 1: that again, not heavy cream. We're talking Chabanni sweet creamer
- 9:24Speaker 1: mixed with banana cream. Ollipop is a nice little sweet
- 9:28Speaker 1: treat that you can drink when you're diabetic. End of quote.
- 9:32Speaker 1: There sherman, are you done with your public apology? I'm
- 9:37Speaker 1: not done with my public apology.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I'm out to kind of get a kind of get
- 9:40Speaker 2: a clease and just throwing a question when you're getting
- 9:43Speaker 2: this coaching. Are you sitting there being like I was
- 9:47Speaker 2: barely off with the heavy cream part and I still
- 9:49Speaker 2: said ollipop, thank.
- 9:50Speaker 1: You, thank you. I mean, if we're really gonna dissect it, honey,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I'm hitting all the things I ran the route. Maybe
- 10:02Speaker 1: I didn't turn to the outside. Maybe I didn't turn
- 10:05Speaker 1: to the sideline. Maybe I turned inside, but the corner
- 10:08Speaker 1: was gonna take away a one yard. I didn't get
- 10:11Speaker 1: all the depth I needed. Yeah, twelve back to ten.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Maybe I went eleven back to nine. But you know
- 10:15Speaker 1: I ran the damn route. Dude. We were we were
- 10:21Speaker 1: watching the episode, and I truly felt like I was
- 10:24Speaker 1: in a film room. We're just laying in bed at
- 10:26Speaker 1: such a sweet moment. I'm like, oh, hey, wife, you're
- 10:29Speaker 1: gonna love this. I was waxing poetic about her. I
- 10:32Speaker 1: love her. She go all, honey, yeah, he told the story.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I didn't get two hot dogs.
- 10:39Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Run that day? Welcome back.
- 10:45Speaker 1: My wife, Jill Young didn't order two hot dogs. She
- 10:49Speaker 1: ordered two beers in a hot dog. Will two beers
- 10:52Speaker 1: and a hot dog? Asked me, Is it okay if
- 10:54Speaker 1: I get two beers? I said, yeah, honey, that'd be great.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Oh I two beers and a hot dog. We got
- 10:59Speaker 1: that cleared up. Thank god. It wasn't too hot dogs.
- 11:02Speaker 1: It was two beers. It wasn't too hot dogs and
- 11:04Speaker 1: a beer. It was two beers and a hot dog. Okay,
- 11:07Speaker 1: what am I thinking? I don't know, bro, you got
- 11:10Speaker 1: to fucking dial it in. I'm a bad husband, I'm
- 11:13Speaker 1: a bad dad. The details are tough on this show man. Yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 1: tro hit me up, but it's I try and keep it,
- 11:21Speaker 1: you know, I'll try and love her from afar. When
- 11:23Speaker 1: she's talking to me about before the dad's details, she'll
- 11:25Speaker 1: tell me, honey, we don't have a nuna. You've said
- 11:31Speaker 1: it twice.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Now on the show. We don't have a nuna. I
- 11:34Speaker 2: can't even tell you the one that we got. But
- 11:36Speaker 2: I'm just like, it seems similar, Like nudas are nice.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You've brought up to me. You've come up to you
- 11:41Speaker 1: and go, now, which one is the I know you
- 11:44Speaker 1: you have the nuna, but like there's the duna, right,
- 11:47Speaker 1: I don't have the duna though, right, you're asking me
- 11:52Speaker 1: what I'm asking you. I don't know.
- 11:55Speaker 2: She even hit me up and she's like, hey, I
- 11:57Speaker 2: was listening for the Dads last week. I see you
- 11:59Speaker 2: shared my DM. I'm like, yeah, kind of giggling.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 2: We didn't have too much conversation half of it. I'm
- 12:05Speaker 2: just like, that's what happened.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Did he follow up? No? Where she was driving? She's in.
- 12:13Speaker 2: She's in London right now, right so they were going
- 12:16Speaker 2: to the airport. She was just kind of you know,
- 12:17Speaker 2: we're talking about the morning that they had. We'll get
- 12:19Speaker 2: in all. We'll get into that. We'll get into it.
- 12:22Speaker 2: But I kind of kept her at a distance, like
- 12:23Speaker 2: you know, anytime she's like I was listening for the ads,
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'm thinking, here we.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Go, what detail did I miss this time?
- 12:29Speaker 2: But fortunately it was more of like, see you shared
- 12:31Speaker 2: the the DM that I said. I'm like, that's our
- 12:33Speaker 2: love story, sweetheart.
- 12:34Speaker 1: That's our love Was she wearing a Pro Bowl hat?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Are we sure it was a Pro Bowl hat?
- 12:38Speaker 2: Positive? It was a probo positive? It was a Pro Bowl.
- 12:42Speaker 1: At least we're one, we're one for two.
- 12:44Speaker 2: The only situation I was in is we're cutting a
- 12:47Speaker 2: clip for our story, and poor chef he's got to
- 12:54Speaker 2: find the cheerleader photos to put in the clip of
- 12:58Speaker 2: your wife, mother, mother of two, back in her you know,
- 13:03Speaker 2: back in her prime. She's, sweetheart, you are still very
- 13:08Speaker 2: much in your prime.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm not saying that. I'm not saying none of that
- 13:11Speaker 1: right now. I know, hey, yeah, I'm not saying any
- 13:15Speaker 1: of that right now.
- 13:15Speaker 2: You are an absolute smoke show, sweetheart, and she sure
- 13:20Speaker 2: she is.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Do you see how I waited for permission there?
- 13:24Speaker 4: Right?
- 13:24Speaker 2: And imagine Chef trying to put the pieces clip together,
- 13:28Speaker 2: wanting to use cheerleading photos and they're all over Google
- 13:30Speaker 2: and I when I saw the clip, I'm laughing to
- 13:32Speaker 2: myself because I'm like, Charles's gonna hate these photos, but
- 13:35Speaker 2: I can't. I feel bad for Chef because Chef's probably
- 13:38Speaker 2: like scrolling, like he's like, do I use this one?
- 13:42Speaker 5: Where she like, Look, I looked for the most respectable
- 13:45Speaker 5: photos I possibly could, which they are?
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah? Which they all they are?
- 13:52Speaker 2: Chef's right, think like these ones look good, But I
- 13:55Speaker 2: don't like if I put that one in there?
- 13:57Speaker 1: What is that? What is that saying? What am I
- 13:58Speaker 1: communicating to my boss? Like? What am I communicating with
- 14:01Speaker 1: this clip? Oh?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm laughing. I text the group chat, hey
- 14:05Speaker 2: who made this clip?
- 14:07Speaker 1: Just like I did.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I'm like, Buddy, I'm sitting here in bed in my
- 14:10Speaker 2: hotel room, laughing, just imagining the mental warfare he's in
- 14:15Speaker 2: trying to figure out what should I use here for
- 14:17Speaker 2: these cheerleading photos when they're telling their story.
- 14:20Speaker 1: He was such a gentleman about it. He pulled me
- 14:22Speaker 1: over to his computer very briefly, but essentially broke it,
- 14:27Speaker 1: broke it down perfectly of what you guessed, and just said, sure,
- 14:31Speaker 1: I'm you know, I'm trying to just find a good
- 14:34Speaker 1: picture of Charro and make sure like they'd be happy
- 14:37Speaker 1: with it. What do you think of this one? I'm
- 14:40Speaker 1: looking at it. You know that looks that's very nice.
- 14:44Speaker 1: That's a nice photo. I think everyone would be happy
- 14:47Speaker 1: with that.
- 14:47Speaker 5: We sat there and after that conversation I might have
- 14:49Speaker 5: asked Sirm three or four times, come check, hey, do
- 14:52Speaker 5: you like just come look at it?
- 14:54Speaker 1: So they're right, everything good, and so we go. Yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 1: it was great. I'm like, we like the clip.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I gave him a note that had nothing to do
- 15:04Speaker 1: with the photos. Yeah, yeah, it looks good man. Maybe
- 15:09Speaker 1: bumped the audio a little bit, but other than that's great.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I think it's a good clip. Yeah. Back to apology mode.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Back to apology mode. Just to close it out. I
- 15:20Speaker 1: also I do want to apologize on behalf of Will
- 15:22Speaker 1: and I giving wrong information on the uh yeah, on
- 15:26Speaker 1: the meetup, and thank you Chef for catching that, and
- 15:30Speaker 1: just kind of a little round of applause for Chef
- 15:32Speaker 1: for just giving us the proper info in there. I
- 15:38Speaker 1: sentially just gone the mic and lied all last week.
- 15:40Speaker 1: That's kind of the breakdown. You got dead. I got
- 15:44Speaker 1: that bra. That's all it is. That's all it is.
- 15:47Speaker 1: He was excited to talk about your wife. You missed
- 15:48Speaker 1: on a couple of details. Yeah, you didn't lie, you misremembered,
- 15:52Speaker 1: you didn't lie.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I think the big thing is, like, hey, the context
- 15:55Speaker 2: of the diabetes. Yeah, probably was you know in her head. Hey,
- 15:59Speaker 2: this is why it happens. And by the way, you
- 16:02Speaker 2: got my drink wrong.
- 16:04Speaker 1: It's banana cream ollipop, which is a great flavor, by
- 16:08Speaker 1: the way, great flavor. And what did I even say.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I don't even know what I said. We were talking.
- 16:13Speaker 1: There was like a dreamsickle type flavoring soda cream soda
- 16:16Speaker 1: with heavy whipping cream. Well, I thought about that after
- 16:23Speaker 1: you said it. Shirm too.
- 16:24Speaker 5: I was gonna add this the best part of the
- 16:26Speaker 5: whole segments, Like, I think that was an old Southern
- 16:28Speaker 5: trip cream in there.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Okay, great, yeah that is normal.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Oh no, you just picture, like you know, when your
- 16:40Speaker 2: mom would just be annoyed with your dad when he
- 16:42Speaker 2: gets some storytelling wrong and you see it happening in
- 16:46Speaker 2: real time.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Dust now, Jill fit. Jill facetimed me at the office
- 16:52Speaker 1: and have me put Derek on the phone so she
- 16:54Speaker 1: could apologize herself to Derek.
- 16:56Speaker 6: Well, she goes, Sherman, can he throw the phone around?
- 16:59Speaker 6: Is that Derek over? And I'm like, hey, Jill, and
- 17:01Speaker 6: she's like, I want you to know I'm not this
- 17:04Speaker 6: psychopath that puts heavy whipping cream.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And then he's looking like.
- 17:12Speaker 6: That with his face covered, and she goes and also,
- 17:14Speaker 6: it wasn't two hot dogs, it was two beers. And
- 17:16Speaker 6: I go, Sherman, hot dogs and beers are nothing alike.
- 17:19Speaker 6: How did you mess that up? Sorry, sir?
- 17:23Speaker 1: Is Derek Derek?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Can you turn the phone around and put him on
- 17:25Speaker 2: the phone? Derek, Hey, I'm not a psychopath. Okay, Hey,
- 17:29Speaker 2: Derek has more than two brain cells. Put him on
- 17:31Speaker 2: the floor. And I had just showed him a text
- 17:34Speaker 2: from my mom. Came out of surgery and heard my
- 17:36Speaker 2: dad had the day together, so they were watching the show.
- 17:39Speaker 2: My mom texts me, she goes, Will and SR talks
- 17:41Speaker 2: so highly of their women and are just so amazing.
- 17:45Speaker 2: And when I go to turn my phone Jill's FaceTime
- 17:47Speaker 2: and he's like, oh, hold on, one second, and then
- 17:49Speaker 2: Joe calls and he's like, you are an idiot.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I don't do heavy whipping cream. You are wrong. It
- 17:54Speaker 1: was the best day. So then I had to apologize
- 17:56Speaker 1: to their experience on face time and tell them, hey,
- 17:59Speaker 1: my wife's a psychopath. Also woke up this morning helping
- 18:04Speaker 1: Burp Scarlett trying to be a sweet dad get to
- 18:07Speaker 1: the office. First thing I read from Jill, it's a
- 18:10Speaker 1: picture of Chibani sweet creamer and ollipop banana. Uh, banana cream,
- 18:17Speaker 1: banana cream. She said, redeem me heavy cream my ass.
- 18:25Speaker 1: So I get to go home to that later today.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Very excited, very excited. Love my wife, Love my wife.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Do we do love Jill Man? Oh, she's the best bro.
- 18:35Speaker 1: And now I can have fun. The weight's off my chest.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I can't I can't wait to break down more of
- 18:40Speaker 2: these conversations when we get to the the Boo at
- 18:43Speaker 2: the Zoo meet up.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Brother. Also, we are dead meat if our wives ever
- 18:48Speaker 1: come on this podcast. Like that was a funny, cute
- 18:50Speaker 1: idea at first, but now I'm just like it would
- 18:54Speaker 1: just be a Will and Sherman roast session for like
- 18:58Speaker 1: two hours straight.
- 18:59Speaker 2: You got to figure out, like when they do come
- 19:01Speaker 2: on like have some question game. Oh god, where we
- 19:04Speaker 2: don't got.
- 19:05Speaker 5: A shot obviously, I think that I think what it
- 19:07Speaker 5: is is me and Derek need to come up with
- 19:09Speaker 5: all the questions.
- 19:10Speaker 1: You guys. Just we won't even give you mics. Just
- 19:14Speaker 1: give us one mic. Sherman and I have to sit
- 19:18Speaker 1: next to each other. It's just one mic. We're basically
- 19:22Speaker 1: at that point, we're just on trial. It's having a podcast.
- 19:26Speaker 1: This is the trial of Will Compton and Sherman Young.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Oh my god, got to lead from the front, lead
- 19:33Speaker 1: from the front. This is what we do. Yes, yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I am really glad that.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I do have you in my corner always in forever, bro,
- 19:42Speaker 2: Thank you dude, you always in for You helped me
- 19:44Speaker 2: a lot.
- 19:44Speaker 1: It fall fast when she was coming for my neck.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and you just find your lanes to you know,
- 19:50Speaker 2: keep a round, get her in moments to rawl up
- 19:53Speaker 2: just to kind of smile.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, you know, he doesn't, you know, the old boy.
- 19:57Speaker 1: He's trying his best. She was she was getting me
- 20:00Speaker 1: is something and Will just puts his arm around me
- 20:02Speaker 1: and walks off of me and go, hey man, it
- 20:04Speaker 1: ain't nothing, man, You know that man, he's all good man.
- 20:10Speaker 1: And I needed that. Yeah, yeah, I uh so, I
- 20:13Speaker 1: had a week.
- 20:14Speaker 2: I had these last five days Monday through Friday with
- 20:16Speaker 2: Scottie one on one. Charlie went to London with Rue
- 20:20Speaker 2: for some one on one mommy daughter time which they
- 20:23Speaker 2: had an absolute blast.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Miss him dearly they get them to night. Of course, you.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Know how you get left home alone? How have you been,
- 20:33Speaker 2: I've been all right, Yeah, puttering around the house. I
- 20:37Speaker 2: will say it is boring and quiet. But you gotta
- 20:40Speaker 2: love the boring and quiet sometimes, Yes, where you have
- 20:43Speaker 2: that peace and quiet like there's it's like the the
- 20:47Speaker 2: cons as you miss them. You see that Ruth's smiling
- 20:50Speaker 2: in every photo. They're truly having the greatest time. It
- 20:53Speaker 2: seems like they're having the greatest time ever, which I love.
- 20:56Speaker 2: But it also gives me fomo. Yeah, it makes me
- 20:58Speaker 2: miss Rue, makes me miss my wife, like I can't
- 21:01Speaker 2: wait to see her when they get home tonight. But
- 21:03Speaker 2: the pros of being alone is you have that peace
- 21:07Speaker 2: and kui, you have that serenity. You have that I
- 21:09Speaker 2: can do whatever I want when Scotty goes down and
- 21:12Speaker 2: Scotty's easy, bro Scotty, She's she.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Is all time we play. I will say.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Within the first four hours, she bumped her head twice.
- 21:23Speaker 2: One was a tough one, one left the lump right.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Oh no, right up above her eye. So that's that's
- 21:29Speaker 2: my dad. Is that the one that you sent me? No,
- 21:32Speaker 2: that's that one's separate up the t that's.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Separate of the two. Oh wow.
- 21:37Speaker 2: So uh here here's a video of Scotty giving the
- 21:41Speaker 2: haters a reason to come after a walking Yeah. So
- 21:45Speaker 2: she fell there, hit her head, bumped her head, and
- 21:47Speaker 2: I'm sitting there record and I'm like, oh shit, you know,
- 21:50Speaker 2: I stopp and pause and I scrambled. I'm kind of
- 21:52Speaker 2: like chuckling to myself. I'm like this she has to learn.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you love.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I'd love to be giving her some spotting hands and
- 21:58Speaker 2: everything else. I'm sitting there recorder because she had nothing
- 22:01Speaker 2: around her the first time she popped her head or
- 22:03Speaker 2: popped her face. And she's like walking, and it was
- 22:07Speaker 2: around the coffee table, like picture this. Yeah, like walking
- 22:10Speaker 2: around the coffee table and she leans forward and hits
- 22:13Speaker 2: her eye like the oh, the very like vulnerable spot
- 22:17Speaker 2: in her eyes, like the bone with the only skin.
- 22:20Speaker 2: She smokes it on the corner bro and oh, I
- 22:23Speaker 2: felt so bad. I felt so bad.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Did it raise or leave it? Mark? Yeah? Yeah, raise.
- 22:29Speaker 1: She had a little swolling up top there. It was red.
- 22:32Speaker 1: But she's a beast, dude. You know Scott's Zilla, Scott's
- 22:35Speaker 1: Hill is tough. But more so, how how does that
- 22:37Speaker 1: information then get shared with Charo?
- 22:40Speaker 7: No?
- 22:41Speaker 1: I tell her the next day? Yeah, yeah, I tell
- 22:43Speaker 1: her next day.
- 22:44Speaker 2: She popped her head yesterday, she popped her eye yesterday,
- 22:46Speaker 2: and look out happy she is now.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Look at her. Where were you what were you doing?
- 22:49Speaker 1: I was on the couch. I tried to get into her.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I said, oh, don't don't do that. Don't do that,
- 22:57Speaker 1: I warned her. I told her, sweet, be careful. But yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 1: she sma, she hits her face.
- 23:02Speaker 2: But it wasn't like we had one situation when we
- 23:04Speaker 2: were down doing a little vacation in Destin a couple
- 23:06Speaker 2: of years ago when Rue was a smaller shoes I
- 23:10Speaker 2: think one at.
- 23:11Speaker 1: The time, and we had her.
- 23:13Speaker 2: We got done with the beach, we come back to
- 23:15Speaker 2: the spot and we're getting her milk ready to go,
- 23:17Speaker 2: and I have a blue booking blue book in front
- 23:19Speaker 2: of her.
- 23:20Speaker 1: She's reading the blue book. One of us I can't
- 23:22Speaker 1: remember who I'll just say it was me.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Yeah, puts the bottle down on the table, But the
- 23:28Speaker 2: little coffee table is kind of like kind of just
- 23:31Speaker 2: enough away where Rue reaches for it from the couch
- 23:35Speaker 2: and tips forward and smokes her face on the coffee.
- 23:39Speaker 2: That I'm talking blood had a cut everything. I'm going
- 23:41Speaker 2: down to Walgreens up just by giving the biggest first
- 23:43Speaker 2: aid kit. Thinking back to the alice, Yeah, she was
- 23:46Speaker 2: cut up and she was bleeding and everything else. So
- 23:48Speaker 2: when I'm telling Charlie about Scottie hitting her out, like
- 23:50Speaker 2: it wasn't one of those situations like it was like
- 23:52Speaker 2: Rue back in DestinE, she was walking what you were
- 23:56Speaker 2: like the video that we posted of her having like
- 24:00Speaker 2: those first steps caught on video to where the Denver
- 24:02Speaker 2: Broncos were doing that comeback when and we were all
- 24:04Speaker 2: cheering and you hear Charles say, oh, watch out for
- 24:06Speaker 2: the table. I'm like, it was that situation. But she
- 24:09Speaker 2: hits the table, yeah, yeah, answered above her eyes. She's
- 24:11Speaker 2: you know, she's screaming, she's crying. But one thing I
- 24:13Speaker 2: love this is actually a simple little dad hack here
- 24:16Speaker 2: is when they're screaming and crying and when you felt like,
- 24:19Speaker 2: you know, I'm sitting there in loving on armholder.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I'm like, Dad as.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Here, it's okay, you know, kind of you know, doing
- 24:24Speaker 2: all this small talk to her because she's like burier
- 24:26Speaker 2: face in my shoulder.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Oh, and it's sad.
- 24:29Speaker 2: But then when you get to a level of enough
- 24:31Speaker 2: crying or maybe they shouldn't be they're crying right now,
- 24:34Speaker 2: but maybe they shouldn't be crying anymore type of situation
- 24:37Speaker 2: in your brain, what I do as a dad hack
- 24:40Speaker 2: is I immediately go to a photo on the wall.
- 24:42Speaker 1: You know how we have that wall of photos where
- 24:44Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, when you walk in the door, it's
- 24:46Speaker 1: back to the right.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's back to the right. It's got all those photos,
- 24:49Speaker 2: all those family photos. Yes, I'll just say where the
- 24:51Speaker 2: photos at? And Scottie immediately looks right at the wall
- 24:55Speaker 2: like I can just be around the area now, and
- 24:57Speaker 2: I just say, hey, where are the photos? And she
- 24:59Speaker 2: pops up with a little smile on her face and
- 25:00Speaker 2: she sticks her hand out in points.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And we just kind of go down the photos. I'm like, oh,
- 25:03Speaker 1: there's mom and dad, Dad says getting married, there's your grandpa,
- 25:07Speaker 1: there's Lolanopa, And we're just going down photos and she's
- 25:10Speaker 1: totally fine after that.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Like when she fell on the video that we just showed,
- 25:15Speaker 2: when she bumped her in and she's crying. I picked
- 25:16Speaker 2: her up and it wasn't that bad of a bump.
- 25:19Speaker 2: It wasn't that bad of a lump. She falls down
- 25:20Speaker 2: and makes a video hilarious because I'm like, oh shit.
- 25:25Speaker 2: She starts kind of squealing and crying. But I pick
- 25:27Speaker 2: her up and immediately start walking toward that photo wall,
- 25:30Speaker 2: and right when I get around the corner, I'm just like, hey,
- 25:32Speaker 2: we're the photos, and she was done crying. She's like
- 25:33Speaker 2: pointing out all the photos. So that's a simple little
- 25:36Speaker 2: dad a little dad hack right there. It's a great
- 25:38Speaker 2: dad hack that works.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I've seen it in the wild Shout out Texas Roadhouse
- 25:43Speaker 1: where with Jill's cousin, and this was when their son
- 25:46Speaker 1: Easton was like one. He's in the high chair and
- 25:50Speaker 1: he totally has the strength to hold himself up, but
- 25:54Speaker 1: for some odd reason just completely goes down, bangs his
- 25:58Speaker 1: head loud like a yeah bro, and mom and dad
- 26:02Speaker 1: instantly go whoo it start going like that, and he
- 26:07Speaker 1: just like with tears his eyes. He's like I guess,
- 26:11Speaker 1: so I guess oh god, damn it, what can somebody
- 26:15Speaker 1: catch me? Yeah, you could. You can go that director
- 26:18Speaker 1: or the distraction. Either one of them's a distraction.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but it works. It does work, And it's hard.
- 26:24Speaker 2: It's hard to catch yourself in the moment when you
- 26:26Speaker 2: hear a loud noise and not like react like I was, like,
- 26:29Speaker 2: oh shit, and go to her and she had already
- 26:31Speaker 2: started crying. But if you have the wherewithal to be,
- 26:34Speaker 2: like to celebrate and try and catch them in the
- 26:36Speaker 2: celebration mentality to where they're still kind of crying or
- 26:39Speaker 2: putting their hands together. But if not, a good go
- 26:41Speaker 2: too is just find a photo on the house, find find.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Some close Oh check this out. This is crazy.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Look at this little cowboy right here, and they just
- 26:49Speaker 2: start pointing at it and smiling. You know, you wipe
- 26:51Speaker 2: their tears off. They might start whining a little bit more.
- 26:54Speaker 2: But that's a good little dad hack. But yeah, I've
- 26:56Speaker 2: been five days with Scottie. It's been a lot of fun.
- 26:59Speaker 2: We've had a lot of good times, good moments. I
- 27:01Speaker 2: go and get her in the morning, like going to
- 27:03Speaker 2: get your going to get your little one, like again.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Scotty is eleven, months old, going to pick her up
- 27:07Speaker 2: in the morning, like when she's waking up and in
- 27:09Speaker 2: her crib, and like walking in her room and just
- 27:12Speaker 2: seeing the smile on her face to where you're like
- 27:14Speaker 2: all excited baby talking to him, like tickling him and
- 27:18Speaker 2: everything else, and you just kind of pick them up,
- 27:20Speaker 2: go take him to the changing changing table. And what
- 27:22Speaker 2: I like to do is, since it was just me,
- 27:25Speaker 2: it's like I'll go, I'll change her and everything else,
- 27:26Speaker 2: and then I'll bring her back down to my bed
- 27:28Speaker 2: and we'll just sit there and snuggle all feet of
- 27:29Speaker 2: the bottle. Yeah, and then they just want to play bro.
- 27:33Speaker 2: But she's all about there's a survival kid out there.
- 27:36Speaker 2: It's the Little Tyke's red car with the yellow roof.
- 27:39Speaker 2: We've all had it growing up. Oh yeah, Like Ruth's
- 27:43Speaker 2: big first Christmas present when she was like one or
- 27:46Speaker 2: two was this red little Tyke's car. Scotty now loves it.
- 27:50Speaker 2: She loves getting into it. I kind of walk and
- 27:51Speaker 2: put around the house with it. But she loves that.
- 27:55Speaker 2: And we just you used to have like a good time.
- 27:57Speaker 2: You sit there, I crawl everywhere with her. She's really
- 27:59Speaker 2: walking right now, so she loves to practice and like
- 28:02Speaker 2: get up and walk and smile and be proud of herself.
- 28:05Speaker 1: She has like this little hand that she like. She
- 28:07Speaker 1: like kids like she's walking.
- 28:10Speaker 2: We went to the park, had a little did a
- 28:12Speaker 2: little walk around a few times, pushed her in the
- 28:14Speaker 2: swing and bedtimes just easy with her. Man read her
- 28:18Speaker 2: a Little Lama Lama reader, the Lama Lama book. Lamalama
- 28:22Speaker 2: goes to bed or something like that.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Lamalama Red Pajama, Oh, Lamaalama Red Pajama. Ludacris does a
- 28:28Speaker 1: remix to Lamalama Red Pajama. You'll have to look it up.
- 28:31Speaker 1: He's got a song for La Malama. But read her
- 28:33Speaker 1: a Little Lama Lama Red Pajama book. She's feeding on
- 28:36Speaker 1: the milk. You have the sell machine on. You cut
- 28:38Speaker 1: the lights and you just rock back and forth. She
- 28:40Speaker 1: falls asleep in your arm. You lay her down, and
- 28:41Speaker 1: then you got the rest of the night to yourself.
- 28:44Speaker 1: There is such a you and Jeremy were telling me
- 28:48Speaker 1: this earlier in the week. Like the older they get
- 28:52Speaker 1: the bedtimes. You know, once they're down, you have the
- 28:56Speaker 1: rest of the night to yourself.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Yeah, especially in that phase where Scotty's at right now,
- 29:01Speaker 2: because you can get them kind of down within thirty
- 29:03Speaker 2: minutes and they know what time it is. We're rue
- 29:05Speaker 2: her being three, it takes a lot more negotiation. Yes,
- 29:08Speaker 2: it takes like a longer process. She can crush it
- 29:11Speaker 2: at times. Other times she kind of drags things out
- 29:13Speaker 2: and finds the angles to make it go longer. But
- 29:15Speaker 2: in this particular moment with Scotty, it is you're like,
- 29:18Speaker 2: in that easier face.
- 29:20Speaker 1: If they're doing a.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Great job of sleeping through the night, which she does,
- 29:22Speaker 2: she knocks out twelve hours, but you get them down
- 29:25Speaker 2: from that seven to seven thirty range, and then you're
- 29:27Speaker 2: downstairs and you got like, what at least.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Two hours, two and a half hours to yourself at least.
- 29:31Speaker 1: And for any new dad, I have to just pound
- 29:37Speaker 1: it into your brain of getting the I've lost the
- 29:43Speaker 1: words I was trying to start. It's you give your
- 29:47Speaker 1: the talk to the schedule. This what's it called having
- 29:51Speaker 1: a routine routine? There it is, Oh, okay, I want
- 29:55Speaker 1: to pound this into new dad's heads, having a routine
- 29:58Speaker 1: for your kid. Because you when we first got pregnant,
- 30:02Speaker 1: you kept on being to sherman Hey twelve hours by
- 30:05Speaker 1: twelve weeks and do this sleep system or whatever, and
- 30:08Speaker 1: we ended up going with a different sleep system, but
- 30:12Speaker 1: it has set us up for success to have those
- 30:16Speaker 1: moments of your baby is napping at certain times during
- 30:20Speaker 1: the day, so then when you're going into the night
- 30:22Speaker 1: time feed, they have their last bottle of the day.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I don't even after I burp Scarlet, I'm not even
- 30:28Speaker 1: having to sit there and sing her songs and souff,
- 30:31Speaker 1: She's like this on me after I burper. I mean,
- 30:33Speaker 1: she's like ready to go in the crib and they
- 30:36Speaker 1: know what time it is.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Because the environment too, it's like all these systems you
- 30:39Speaker 2: have around, Like the Twelve Hours and Twelve Weeks was
- 30:42Speaker 2: a book that char and I read that that's the
- 30:44Speaker 2: system that we use, but it's.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yours is called what Mom's on call. Mom's on call.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Just find a system, and that does help set you
- 30:51Speaker 2: up for success because there's a lot of things in
- 30:53Speaker 2: these books too that you just learned about the whole
- 30:55Speaker 2: routine of everything and even just the environment of them
- 30:57Speaker 2: knowing when it's playtime, them knowing what it's now time,
- 31:00Speaker 2: them knowing when it's bedtime, everything in between.
- 31:04Speaker 1: And everything has a cause and effect with the little ones. Yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 1: like if if you do everything right during the day,
- 31:11Speaker 1: that means that bedtime is gonna go great, and then
- 31:15Speaker 1: that means that wake up time in the morning at
- 31:18Speaker 1: seven o'clock on the dots, seven to fifty on the dot.
- 31:21Speaker 1: They're giggly, they're happy, they're smiling, they're so excited to
- 31:24Speaker 1: see you. You put that first bottle in, They're like,
- 31:27Speaker 1: I rested all night, I slept all night, and I'm
- 31:30Speaker 1: just ready to play and cozy with dad, apps and
- 31:32Speaker 1: poop and ushit. God, but I just wanted to I
- 31:40Speaker 1: say that because those are my favorite moments in the morning.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Like when I was doing my notes for the show
- 31:47Speaker 1: before I got here, I was just laying in bed
- 31:49Speaker 1: doing it on my phone a little bit as we
- 31:52Speaker 1: had just burnt Scarlet. Jill has Scarlet down on the
- 31:54Speaker 1: pillow in our king sized bed and between me and her, Yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 1: Jill's just playing with her and I'm doing my notes
- 32:00Speaker 1: through the show, and I'm like, man, moments like these
- 32:03Speaker 1: like this is awesome. But you can't have those moments
- 32:07Speaker 1: if they didn't sleep well the night before. Can't have
- 32:09Speaker 1: those moments if they don't sleep well well, did you?
- 32:11Speaker 5: Uh?
- 32:11Speaker 1: We had it?
- 32:12Speaker 6: I think it was two episodes of last episode of
- 32:13Speaker 6: Guy I named Jack gave you the dad hack to
- 32:15Speaker 6: put things in their hands when they started walking.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to try if you try it yet?
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so Scotty, she's she's actually stood up with like
- 32:21Speaker 2: a ball and stuff in her hand, and I gave
- 32:23Speaker 2: her another ball. I do feel like it is helpful,
- 32:25Speaker 2: Like she's she's stringing along more steps, So shout out
- 32:29Speaker 2: that dad hack that was given. Yeah, a couple episodes ago.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Maybe it was the last episode, but it is like
- 32:34Speaker 2: they just feel like they have some in their hand.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I kind of love when she has her right hand
- 32:37Speaker 2: open because she kind of hits one of these.
- 32:39Speaker 1: It's like a cam Wardna.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Hits one of them. Yeah, she's like got it going.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Like she's walking and smiling and being.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Like, Yo, check this out, dude. The video that you
- 32:49Speaker 1: sent me that I don't think you've posted yet.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I have not posted that one yet. Okay, by the
- 32:53Speaker 2: time this comes out, it will be out there.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Okay. Cool. She had a definite moment of oh, she
- 33:00Speaker 1: almost lost it and just regained her balance. I said
- 33:03Speaker 1: she got a daddy in her.
- 33:05Speaker 2: She got a daddy in and he and hermy dancer,
- 33:10Speaker 2: ballet dancer. That's right, she's got some athletic jeans. Can't
- 33:13Speaker 2: sleep on mama, now, you can't sleep on mama.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Can't Also we skipped, uh, we skipped some of our comments.
- 33:20Speaker 1: We did we can Joe.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get into some comments we did last week
- 33:25Speaker 2: during the during the quote topic lesson. There's some homework
- 33:28Speaker 2: on what is a value hope your child carries with
- 33:30Speaker 2: them throughout their life. We do have a few of
- 33:32Speaker 2: those comments that we will we have them actually have
- 33:35Speaker 2: it labeled homework that will head toward the end of
- 33:37Speaker 2: the episode. We do have some fun comments up top
- 33:40Speaker 2: that we will recontinue to leave comments throughout the episode.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Please just a little dad small talk before we get going. Yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 2: just a little dad small talk. And if you missed it,
- 33:48Speaker 2: I hit the survival kit, which is things that you
- 33:50Speaker 2: need at the house, things that I say like, hey,
- 33:53Speaker 2: these are this is great to throw in the old backpack,
- 33:55Speaker 2: the old survival kit. The little tax red car went
- 33:58Speaker 2: through My dad lost with Scotti hitting her head twice
- 34:00Speaker 2: than the first four hours of me watching her. That
- 34:02Speaker 2: was especially after the second one. That was honestly, the
- 34:05Speaker 2: second one was the video. I'm like I gotta tighten
- 34:07Speaker 2: this up. I gotta tighten this up. Can't be letting
- 34:11Speaker 2: her just cry and hitting her face like in day
- 34:13Speaker 2: one of me watching Old Scotty Joe Lee.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And then we had the dad hack.
- 34:19Speaker 2: We had the dad hack of going if they're crying,
- 34:22Speaker 2: going to a photo around the house or going to
- 34:23Speaker 2: something to where you can get them up out of
- 34:25Speaker 2: their tears. Gotta distract them, gotta distract them, give them
- 34:28Speaker 2: them a little distraction.
- 34:29Speaker 1: But yes, you want to go ahead and hit the
- 34:31Speaker 1: first comment. Yes, This one comes from Eli Schroeder five
- 34:36Speaker 1: zero nine to six on YouTube. Eli says, love the
- 34:39Speaker 1: pod boys. I'm a relatively new father to my eight
- 34:41Speaker 1: month old daughter, eleanor wife and I are so excited
- 34:45Speaker 1: for Halloween. Similar to scherms cotton candy costume for Scarlett,
- 34:50Speaker 1: we're dressing up Ellie as a strawberry because she's a redhead.
- 34:54Speaker 1: And we're dressing up as as gardeners because we man wifey.
- 35:00Speaker 1: We grew shout out shot.
- 35:04Speaker 2: I love the shrubber. I love any kind of costume.
- 35:07Speaker 2: One a little one bro Oh he ain'ts so adorable?
- 35:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so fun. By the way, Happy Halloween. We
- 35:12Speaker 2: are repping October hats. It is hollow the week of Halloween.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Up you get out there a trick or tree, trick
- 35:19Speaker 2: or tree BWTV dot com b WTB. Yeah, you can
- 35:22Speaker 2: get all this merch. We're repping the hoodies, the four
- 35:25Speaker 2: of the Dead hoodie, something simple, something that speaks. Got
- 35:29Speaker 2: the four of the Dads on the back. You can
- 35:30Speaker 2: look at Sherm's hoodie right there, BWTV dot com. We
- 35:33Speaker 2: got a plethora of options for merch. Also the PT six,
- 35:37Speaker 2: the PT six shirts. Oh yeah, that's how you that's
- 35:40Speaker 2: the real one right there. This is version two of
- 35:42Speaker 2: Papa Team six. You see him up there mowing the yard.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Got the soccer ball out there, the house in the
- 35:47Speaker 2: back during his sunset. Just a dad and his boy,
- 35:50Speaker 2: Just dad and his cub, some bonded time over mowing
- 35:53Speaker 2: the yard. You ready for this photo? I've seen this photo.
- 35:58Speaker 2: It is funny. This is from Ryan Zambric on Instagram. Now, boys,
- 36:05Speaker 2: dad's please tell me I'm not an asshole for telling
- 36:08Speaker 2: my daughter she can't take a picture she drew to
- 36:10Speaker 2: a friend at school. Personally, I did not want to
- 36:13Speaker 2: get a phone call about this lovely picture of sock
- 36:16Speaker 2: puppet dance party. I'm reading the comment and I'm like,
- 36:21Speaker 2: I mean, what like what how big?
- 36:24Speaker 1: Like? What could this be to where you say she
- 36:25Speaker 1: can't take a bit? What's the issue there? Then I
- 36:29Speaker 1: look at the photo. Oh oh wow, wow, that is.
- 36:41Speaker 5: It's a beat just dere and I said, I don't
- 36:44Speaker 5: have my contacts and I can't see.
- 36:47Speaker 2: But I love how he sends it in like the
- 36:49Speaker 2: photos obviously is drawn like that little sock puppet up
- 36:52Speaker 2: there sends it in sideway. Dads are out there laughing.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Dad's out there giggling. Right, it's a bet six fo
- 36:58Speaker 2: joke right here.
- 37:00Speaker 1: This guy because the detail on it, the detail on
- 37:06Speaker 1: this sock puppet.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Listen, if I'm in his situation, we're one hundred percent
- 37:11Speaker 2: taking the photo.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Yeah, go take the photo, show everybody. Go show everybody
- 37:16Speaker 1: your art. Hey, go take you to that teacher that's
- 37:18Speaker 1: been giving us a tough time. I forgot the pack
- 37:22Speaker 1: of lunch. Teacher made a big speak about it. But
- 37:24Speaker 1: go show her sock puppet sock puppet dance party.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I'm personally taking a photo so I can show all
- 37:29Speaker 2: the boys. Look at my daughter. She's crushing it. A school.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Dude. Ryan thank you. That's a late It's so funny.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Uh so funny. I got another one from Alan Lane
- 37:41Speaker 1: nineteen ninety one. This one is also on YouTube. Boys
- 37:44Speaker 1: brand new member of PT six here. Welcome Alan, Welcome.
- 37:51Speaker 1: My wife Alyssa and I just welcomed our first baby boy, Hudson,
- 37:54Speaker 1: into the world and wanted to send a huge thank
- 37:57Speaker 1: you for the pod. I'm a dad hat. I have
- 38:00Speaker 1: a dad hack that could hopefully help another expecting father.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Alyssa was super anxious and self conscious about me looking
- 38:08Speaker 1: down south or as we say, what was on the
- 38:13Speaker 1: other side of the wall. Was how Joys described that, Oh,
- 38:18Speaker 1: you're a watcher on the wall.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah, during the wall, Yes, yeah, yeah, you're a watcher
- 38:23Speaker 2: on the wall. You start Night's Watch.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you're Knight's watching, or a watcher on the wall.
- 38:27Speaker 1: He's talking about looking down south during labor, and honestly,
- 38:31Speaker 1: I wasn't sure that I really wanted to look. However,
- 38:34Speaker 1: to prepare going through the trenches and that big moment,
- 38:37Speaker 1: I watched a high depth video online of a woman
- 38:40Speaker 1: giving burd weeks leading up to our due date, like
- 38:48Speaker 1: watching game tape before the big game, after the delivery,
- 38:52Speaker 1: hearing my wife casting me up to her friends and
- 38:55Speaker 1: family telling them how amazing I am during the process
- 38:58Speaker 1: was the best thing I could ever have heard. As
- 39:02Speaker 1: one shelf, Willie says, fail to prepare or prepare to fail.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Keep up the great work. One shelf in fat Staff
- 39:10Speaker 1: Chef and Derek sending love from your pals up North
- 39:14Speaker 1: Canadian Flag, Alan, Alyssa and Hudson. Oh that is all time,
- 39:20Speaker 1: all time. I always stay. I stayed north of the wall. Hey,
- 39:24Speaker 1: don't blame you. Jill when she was going through nursing
- 39:29Speaker 1: school showed me a simulation of childbirth that was like
- 39:34Speaker 1: four or five years ago. I still vividly remember that,
- 39:37Speaker 1: just simulation video. I can imagine them turning the child
- 39:42Speaker 1: sideways and and just the things that start out, you know,
- 39:48Speaker 1: the size of this, then turn out the size of that,
- 39:53Speaker 1: you know, and it's just it's a little jarring. It's
- 39:56Speaker 1: a little jar I can only imagine.
- 39:59Speaker 2: And it was something like char Obviously, she ended up
- 40:01Speaker 2: having a like when Rue was being born, we were
- 40:03Speaker 2: going were she wanted to be national first, we ended
- 40:06Speaker 2: up having to get in a sea section.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I always forget that.
- 40:08Speaker 2: That's but even going into the process, the game plan
- 40:11Speaker 2: was always I'm going to stay north of the wall.
- 40:12Speaker 2: She didn't mind that I stayed north of the wall either.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Yeah, more power. Yeah. I just you know, I'm sitting
- 40:19Speaker 1: there and I have the midwife going, ay, dad, you'll
- 40:21Speaker 1: you'll want to see this, dad, And I'm sitting there like,
- 40:25Speaker 1: I did not talk about this with my wife. I
- 40:28Speaker 1: don't know if I do want to see it. She's
- 40:30Speaker 1: down there going, you know, pushing, So this is not
- 40:34Speaker 1: the time to ask for permission. Yeah. And then Jill
- 40:37Speaker 1: all of a sudden's like get down there. Yeah. I'm like, okay,
- 40:40Speaker 1: I'll look it was dude, damn, Yeah, it was a thing.
- 40:45Speaker 2: I shout out. Stan Janis but a buddy of mine, Logan.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I've spoken about Logan a lot on busting with the boys,
- 40:52Speaker 2: but his dad staying I remember.
- 40:53Speaker 1: When we were young. I was probably.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Eleven twelve years old, and he was talking about the
- 41:00Speaker 2: experience and talking about, you know, just the shit and
- 41:03Speaker 2: piss and blood and everything else and just being a.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Wee little lad. I'm like staring with that face.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm just thinking to myself, I don't think
- 41:15Speaker 2: I could ever look at that yeah. And so I
- 41:18Speaker 2: just think from a young age it's just always been
- 41:20Speaker 2: in my head. Whatever the vision that I had back
- 41:23Speaker 2: when I was that age, coming into the questions of hey,
- 41:26Speaker 2: would you want it? I'm I think I'm just gonna
- 41:28Speaker 2: stay up here. Stand scared you straight? Stand scared me straight? Yeah,
- 41:32Speaker 2: he scared me straight.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I will say for any hunters out there, if you
- 41:37Speaker 1: are debating this topic of whether or not to go
- 41:40Speaker 1: south of the wall, like the smells that you encounter
- 41:46Speaker 1: hunting when you're field dressing an animal, expect those smells. Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 41:55Speaker 1: and I'll leave it at that. Yeah, that's all you
- 41:57Speaker 1: can do. And for people that don't, I think to myself,
- 42:00Speaker 1: that's gotta be jarring as well. That's got to be
- 42:03Speaker 1: pretty jarring. Yeah, the sights, the sounds, and the smells.
- 42:06Speaker 2: I think it's hilarious that he was watching High Depth
- 42:11Speaker 2: needed four K. Let me watch tape, because I want
- 42:15Speaker 2: to say, like people who are doing it, I'm speaking
- 42:17Speaker 2: for it, Like I didn't do this, So I'm speaking
- 42:19Speaker 2: for what I've heard through friends, through people that kind
- 42:22Speaker 2: of talk about the experience that they feel seeing their wife,
- 42:25Speaker 2: like seeing both of them they're accomplishing this thing together.
- 42:28Speaker 2: I feel like it's very much like a connective thing. Yeah,
- 42:31Speaker 2: with your wife that it's your wife, so you don't
- 42:34Speaker 2: feel like you don't feel some type of way to
- 42:37Speaker 2: I'm laughing about it, thinking he's just going in to
- 42:40Speaker 2: prepare for war. Yeah, like I'm gonna watch somebody else
- 42:43Speaker 2: go through this where I have zero attachment, just to
- 42:45Speaker 2: see what I'm getting myself into.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I'm laughing imagining the woman that was filmed and some
- 42:51Speaker 1: doctor coming in and going, and Rebecca, before we start
- 42:55Speaker 1: the childbreadthing process, we do have some students here today
- 42:58Speaker 1: for research purposes. Would you be okay with us filming
- 43:01Speaker 1: this today? And how in the world did she say
- 43:04Speaker 1: yes to that? Yeah? And then you have Rando over
- 43:06Speaker 1: there with the camquarder just zoomed in. Hang on, let's
- 43:11Speaker 1: get to cover up on it. Oh, zoom in. Yeah,
- 43:17Speaker 1: Derek said, get the boom mic going if y'all can
- 43:19Speaker 1: see him. All right, let's get another one here for safety. Please. Hey,
- 43:24Speaker 1: that was perfect, Rebecca. We're just gonna do it one
- 43:26Speaker 1: more time.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, Doc, We're gonna needed to stop right here.
- 43:29Speaker 2: We got to reset a lens. We gotta get a
- 43:31Speaker 2: different lens. Rebecca, can you stop pushing for a second.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Talent is really loud by the way we're taking shots.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Are we okay with that? But yes? That was that
- 43:42Speaker 1: was mine? So here we go.
- 43:44Speaker 2: John Lewis sixty six seventy six on YouTube. Just found
- 43:47Speaker 2: out I'll be going to beat six on July seventh
- 43:49Speaker 2: next year. Boys shooting for that independence.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Baby. Hey, that's a shout out, John Lewis.
- 43:55Speaker 2: I got another one here from Ty Chef Chefnisky Chefnisky. Yeah, Shafniskey, Oh,
- 44:01Speaker 2: Shafnisky shaf Niskey. Just finished listening today's pod Love the
- 44:05Speaker 2: callings made me think about how blessed I am to
- 44:07Speaker 2: have got my little girl's first word on camera. Hoping
- 44:10Speaker 2: baby Scarlet can give shirm a moment like I just ah,
- 44:14Speaker 2: we're hoping, Ty.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I'm jealous, dude, I'm jealous. This one comes from Carter Brgin,
- 44:21Speaker 1: He said, got promoted to Dad's status today. Carter, congratulations,
- 44:26Speaker 1: welcome to PT six. Hitting the trenches with an unbeatable attitude.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I want three I want three am blowouts. I want
- 44:35Speaker 1: to run out of diapers in the middle of the night.
- 44:37Speaker 1: I want my wife to find my secret zinstash. I
- 44:41Speaker 1: want all the smoke. I'm ready for it. All, this
- 44:44Speaker 1: guy's a sick sick. I hope she doesn't give it
- 44:47Speaker 1: up to me for another year. Oh my god, Carter,
- 44:54Speaker 1: unbelievable experience at the hostole. Nurses and doctors were amazing.
- 44:58Speaker 1: In the middle of giving Bert to our child with
- 45:00Speaker 1: the head about to crown, my wife looks at me
- 45:02Speaker 1: and says, this actually isn't that bad. That's a warrior.
- 45:06Speaker 1: That is a warrior. That's a warrior that I am
- 45:09Speaker 1: glad is on my team. Keep on keeping on fellas
- 45:13Speaker 1: PT six, motherfucker, that's what he said. Yeah, PT six, motherfucker.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I had that comment before rouse birth. Remember when I
- 45:22Speaker 1: fucked that entire conversation up. When Charlee decided to get
- 45:24Speaker 1: to see section. I swear it, I kind of feels like
- 45:26Speaker 1: you're giving up a little bit.
- 45:30Speaker 2: If I had that comment the week before, I mean,
- 45:33Speaker 2: he got people out here saying it even that bad.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Also, Carter, like.
- 45:38Speaker 2: And I'm just handing her before the dad's going to
- 45:40Speaker 2: my read he said his wife looked at him at
- 45:42Speaker 2: his one and even that bad.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I got like eight more of these?
- 45:44Speaker 8: Is that?
- 45:45Speaker 1: What doesn't it? Carter on a family vacation, by the way,
- 45:48Speaker 1: like couple's vacation with all the kids. Yeah, you know,
- 45:52Speaker 1: he's the dad that if anything goes awry on the trip,
- 45:55Speaker 1: he's the one running to Walgreens getting the stuff, getting
- 45:58Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 45:59Speaker 2: God, what we got to pray for him that he
- 46:01Speaker 2: keeps that mood throughout the entire process. That's where it
- 46:04Speaker 2: gets challenging. That's why we embrace the good mentality here.
- 46:07Speaker 2: That's why if you're if you're feeling in the dark
- 46:09Speaker 2: and feeling low, you just pop on it for the
- 46:10Speaker 2: Dad's episode, just to hear us whether we're pretending to
- 46:14Speaker 2: embrace the moment or just reminding ourselves to embrace the moment.
- 46:17Speaker 1: You can also get the good the good hats. We
- 46:20Speaker 1: have hats.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Those are in our store bwtv dot com which says
- 46:23Speaker 2: good on there.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Just subtle reminders.
- 46:25Speaker 2: And tell your wife you listen to this pod and
- 46:28Speaker 2: how we embrace good because they will.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Throw it in your face. Yeah, and sometimes you need that,
- 46:33Speaker 1: you do. And tell her she plays her cards right,
- 46:35Speaker 1: y'all mount her.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I got one here from brock Brock Weinland T sixty
- 46:44Speaker 2: three sixty nine. Not even a dad but by far
- 46:47Speaker 2: my favorite, but by far my favorite podcasts that fires
- 46:50Speaker 2: me up an.
- 46:52Speaker 1: That's t sickol you know what he's he could be.
- 46:55Speaker 1: I don't know how old he is. He could be.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Maybe he's not old enough to be a Semen Team
- 46:59Speaker 2: six or maybe he's just a goon beret.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Ooh, I mean you know they're still slinging lead.
- 47:04Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, the maturity, the maturity might not but
- 47:07Speaker 2: maybe he is an ST sixer.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Maybe he is a Seaman Team sixer. Yeah, not even
- 47:10Speaker 1: a dad yet.
- 47:11Speaker 2: But but by far my favorite podcast, Oh Willie one
- 47:13Speaker 2: shelf talking about how he waited for Charlie to leave
- 47:16Speaker 2: her apartment before taking a dump. Maybe me spit my
- 47:18Speaker 2: water out this morning, had to mop good sucking mopping.

- 49:14Speaker 2: I knew you was going to talk about the streaks
- 49:16Speaker 2: on the floor because I'm thinking to myself, then she's
- 49:18Speaker 2: gonna walk into the mudroom and talk about how my
- 49:20Speaker 2: shoes are all over the place. Once you go check
- 49:21Speaker 2: the mud room and see that my shoes are put
- 49:24Speaker 2: up nice and neat, you want.
- 49:25Speaker 1: To see anything else about the floor. Hey, how about

- 49:42Speaker 1: We love her, we love lover. Speaking of we have
- 49:46Speaker 1: Gabriella Sastra two one three, She wrote in the reference
- 49:51Speaker 1: to Ladybugs had me bawling. I lost my brother to
- 49:54Speaker 1: suicide in May of twenty twenty four. Since his passing,
- 49:57Speaker 1: Ladybugs have made their present and unique times where I
- 50:02Speaker 1: know it's my brother justin giving us a wink from heaven.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Love you guys and this podcast. I look forward to
- 50:09Speaker 1: listening every Wednesday. And I love what you're doing. Keep
- 50:12Speaker 1: it up. Hashtag Milk Team six. Thank you, VERI what's
- 50:16Speaker 1: her name, Gabriella, Gabriella, thank you for thank you for
- 50:20Speaker 1: shooting in that comment. I know last week when I read,
- 50:23Speaker 1: I saw a couple of comments too. Fired up, not
- 50:25Speaker 1: like fired up, but like appreciating the logan email that
- 50:29Speaker 1: came from like the Reo connection and everything.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Else and or Nelly yes and that email. I took
- 50:36Speaker 2: the card. I took it with me home, and I
- 50:38Speaker 2: let my wife read it as well, because I felt
- 50:40Speaker 2: like it was that like impactful, like just reading that
- 50:42Speaker 2: and seeing that and just taking a step back and
- 50:45Speaker 2: thinking about the universe in general and how that was
- 50:48Speaker 2: giving closure.
- 50:49Speaker 1: To Logan and the family.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Yes on writing that in so Gabriella, thank you for
- 50:54Speaker 2: thank you for sharing your comment as well. Yes, I
- 50:56Speaker 2: wanted to give a shout out. Let me pull I
- 50:58Speaker 2: know I texted it to you.
- 51:00Speaker 1: You look for that.
- 51:00Speaker 6: We'll just confirm it is from Texas, and I believe
- 51:03Speaker 6: I could be wrong. I believe your friend d M
- 51:05Speaker 6: the show too. Oh did he that's my boy Logan
- 51:08Speaker 6: or something? There was something like that that I'm digging
- 51:10Speaker 6: for now. That's another lore of like people recognizing other
- 51:13Speaker 6: people from Collins from right ends.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like that, that's really cool. But from Texas. Okay, cool?
- 51:18Speaker 1: Cool that then that makes all the sense of the world. Yeah,
- 51:21Speaker 1: j dude. JT's the man. By the way. While Will's
- 51:24Speaker 1: still looking for this, he does a bunch of like
- 51:28Speaker 1: music video shoots and stuff in Nashville. I've been trying
- 51:31Speaker 1: to find some kind of shoot where we need like
- 51:35Speaker 1: extra hands to get JT invot. He's he came up.
- 51:39Speaker 2: To me randomly. He's like, hey, I know Sherman. Really
- 51:41Speaker 2: well call him a bitch for me and tell what's up.
- 51:43Speaker 1: I just laughing. I was like four weeks into the
- 51:45Speaker 1: job and Will comes in. He goes, hey, sure's some
- 51:48Speaker 1: guy at Walgreen's called you a bit And I was like,
- 51:51Speaker 1: what the make sure to believe one or two of
- 51:53Speaker 1: those out shifts. Yeah, yeah, just the place. But what
- 51:56Speaker 1: Sherman was referring to.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Everybody knows how massive of the Nebraska guy that I am,
- 52:01Speaker 2: so a lot of my algorithm is around like Nebraska stuff.
- 52:04Speaker 2: But there was something that came across my timeline that
- 52:06Speaker 2: I just wanted to say that for the ads, the brand, sure, myself,
- 52:11Speaker 2: Chef Derek, like the community pop a team six that
- 52:15Speaker 2: we are rallied behind. This head coach from Elkhorn North,
- 52:20Speaker 2: he is eleven month old passed away, was going I
- 52:24Speaker 2: was battling through through some things throughout you know, I say,
- 52:29Speaker 2: like childhood, but throughout up to that eleven months he
- 52:31Speaker 2: was a twin. And this head coach, coach Sam Stanley,
- 52:38Speaker 2: he lost his son Grant just weeks before his first birthday,
- 52:42Speaker 2: which is you know, again fighting back teers, but can
- 52:45Speaker 2: not imagine going through something like that being a head
- 52:48Speaker 2: coach of a football team. Yeah, still doing your absolute
- 52:52Speaker 2: best to compartmentalize with a group of like young men,
- 52:55Speaker 2: high schoolers, just like I'm sure the high school football team,
- 52:57Speaker 2: like they're rallied around him, but you're mostly like coaching
- 53:00Speaker 2: and parents might understand what you're going through. I can
- 53:04Speaker 2: only imagine how difficult that was. They went out and
- 53:06Speaker 2: beat their rival for the I believe the first time
- 53:09Speaker 2: in program history. But they want it, And I'm reading
- 53:13Speaker 2: this article talking about highly emotional of a game. It
- 53:15Speaker 2: was seeing the team and coaching staff and everybody kind
- 53:17Speaker 2: of rally around him and his family. So just want
- 53:21Speaker 2: just want that that football team and coach Stanley to
- 53:24Speaker 2: know that for the dads, we're thinking about you, pop
- 53:26Speaker 2: a team six, we're thinking about you.
- 53:27Speaker 1: We're rallied around you as well.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Digital arm, digital bear, hug everything because man heart goes
- 53:35Speaker 2: out to you and mom and just that situation, because
- 53:38Speaker 2: that that is tough.
- 53:39Speaker 1: And to go out and coach a football game. I
- 53:41Speaker 1: was just about to say that's the most heroic part
- 53:44Speaker 1: of it is the great line from Remember the Titans.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Attitude reflects leadership. That's a huge part of leading a
- 53:52Speaker 1: team is the attitude that you bring in about high
- 53:54Speaker 1: school every single day into the locker room, right practice
- 53:58Speaker 1: and maintaining that kind of attitude and being able to
- 54:03Speaker 1: lead young men during loss like that. Dang yeah, yeah,
- 54:08Speaker 1: dang yeah, Hard goes out to him.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Man. I know, I know one day, like, uh, clearly
- 54:14Speaker 2: the ripple effect with the family and everything else that'll happen.
- 54:19Speaker 2: But the effect and impact he will have on that
- 54:21Speaker 2: team and those kids who grow up and go on
- 54:24Speaker 2: to chase careers, whatever they do, they'll always be able
- 54:27Speaker 2: to like look at this moment from their old head
- 54:29Speaker 2: ball coach in high school and remember a time of
- 54:33Speaker 2: you know, resiliency, whether or not you wanted to practice
- 54:36Speaker 2: that resiliency, resiliency, whether you even wanted to get out
- 54:39Speaker 2: of bed, because I'm sure at times you just you
- 54:41Speaker 2: don't want to do anything. Maybe football, you can assume
- 54:43Speaker 2: was the just the escaping factor of getting his head
- 54:46Speaker 2: out of, you know, the the grief that is that
- 54:50Speaker 2: was currently.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Going on with him.
- 54:52Speaker 2: That'll have an effect that will have an impact on
- 54:54Speaker 2: those on those young men, because I'm thinking, like they
- 54:57Speaker 2: don't even they don't even understand the weight of it
- 54:59Speaker 2: right now until they going to have kids one day
- 55:02Speaker 2: and think back on that moment and realize, like, damn,
- 55:05Speaker 2: coach was going through something that I couldn't even have
- 55:08Speaker 2: a perspective from.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, but.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Heart goes out to that team, heart goes out to
- 55:13Speaker 2: that family, and uh, yeah, I just wanted to take
- 55:16Speaker 2: a moment because I saw that come across my timeline.
- 55:18Speaker 2: So a couple of people attacked me to too, just
- 55:20Speaker 2: because again it's around Nebraska, yea, and they know the
- 55:22Speaker 2: pod for the dads and so just wanted to share that.
- 55:27Speaker 1: No, I'm glad. I'm glad that you did. I'm glad
- 55:29Speaker 1: that you shared that. I am coming off of an
- 55:35Speaker 1: emotional high from last week of having my parents in town,

- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Thank you. Yeah, I know, I'm not joking. I'm not joking.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Oh my God, tell him we gotta get them up

- 1:03:23Speaker 5: Cubs fan, like Anthony Rizzo is like he's a hero
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: to like anyone who grew up because it was like
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: being a Cubs fan for a long time is a
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: very miserable experience.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: That's more. That message is.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: More for people who maybe aren't Cubs fans. This is
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: the weight of why I feel the way I yes,

- 1:03:50Speaker 2: says he loves for the dance and injuiced me up
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: because we go like we got busting, but we were
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: playing when Busting kicked off. So it's like there's a
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: there's a level of of status that you will have
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: when you're first getting exposed, like as far as NFL
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: guys and people in that world, but to know, like
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: me and you are doing for the dads.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: And this is a very much.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: A niche podcast, very niche, very niche, and it's like,
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: you know, Anthony Rizzo coming across for the dads and
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: just being like, I enjoy, like I love listening for
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: the dads. Whether or not he said that, I'm taking
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: it that he said I love for the dads. But
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: it fired me up.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: It fired me up, and I just know that he's
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: listening to this right now. Going, guys, stop at how
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Sherman's wife hates him. I like that talk about mounting
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: your wife. Subscribe, subscribe.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: But you know, you know Rizzo, you know Rizzo is
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: before that, you know, in that pep probably thinking can
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: I get home and get on it?
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: When did I say I was warning? When if I
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: haven't said that? Man, But yes, thank you Anthony Rizzo. Yeah,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: that is ber and Shane Beemer.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we got a few. No, it's a beamer Rizzo.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: And then also coach drink Missoo head.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Coach, Oh that is right. Yeah, yeah, game. Well we'll
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: know how it turned out next week they're playing.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: They played this past weekend college game day Missoo Vanderbilt. Yeah,
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: but get into your highs of the weekend. Can't wait
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: to hear about your family did coming to town? You
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: had the whole family here when we were done with
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: the podcast last.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Week, I have the whole family.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: How the weekend go, talk to us about your crack
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: of cold one highs. Wait, it went really well.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: The whole family was in I do not get to
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: see my brother often. It's it's really kind of like
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: once a year, and so last week was awesome getting
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: to see my brother, but more importantly getting to see
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: my mom, my dad, and my brother all at the
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: same time. It's just funny when you get older, having
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: all the people in the same room together just seems
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: less and less and less, and so having them here
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: for the four days that they were here was incredible.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: They're obsessed with y'all. They are obsessed with Derek and Chef.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: By the way, I want to give a huge shout
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: out to them for just whatever y'all were talking about
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: with my family, whatever was said. They adore them. I
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: mean they were My mom talked about you two for hours.
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: Likewise, they're very kind. It was awesome to get to
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: get to talk to Sherman's family. Super sweet bunch, like
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: exactly what you'd hope for whenever you know you're meeting
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: someone that you work with or friend's family, it's always like, oh, well,
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: sue happens, and they were, you know, exceeded expectations.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I don't know, Derek. The only thing I'll say.
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: The two stories that came up is your dad like
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: was coming up and I went for a mister young
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: and he goes Sherman and I was like, that's why
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: he's a junior, Like got it, like Sherman.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: So instantly your.
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: Dad like all, oh yes, all veil of being a
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: dad is gone, Like your dad's the coolest. And then
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: shout out your brother for wearing Nike Monarchs because I
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: felt it he did. They were the cleanest pair of
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: Nike Monarchs I ever did see. And I was like,
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: that's for the dads if I've ever seen it.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: He did. He was rocking up brand new monarchs. I
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: did notice that we got.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: To get us a pair like I have a dirty
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: stained pair, which I know plays. Yeah, but we gotta
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: get some fresh monarchs going on again.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Yeah, we gotta get that gun and the uh was
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: it the five to five sixes? The Newbies a new Balance? Yeah? Yeah?
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Is it the the the like the original that we're
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: talking about? The dad?
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yes, we're talking like he's like, yeah, you're
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: probably talking five five I got five fifty, but this
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: ain't the dad.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: That's not the dad collects. Yeah, then five five sixes
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: you mow the lawn and some five five seas you
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: mean bit? Yeah, but yes, my brother. Was that my
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: first or my brother's first time meeting you? I think so.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: I believe so.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: I was kind of handling it like i'd seen him again. Yes,
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: but I think that was the first time meeting him. Yeah, yes,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: I think so too.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: But he was elated, and uh it got brought up
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: because we talked about in last week's episode the track
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: days and the shot put and uh, my, my brother
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: he fixates, he ruminates on things. Yeah, he brought up
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: four or five times, just going sure, I don't I
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: don't think Will knows how athletic you really were. I uh,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: I just don't know if he'd know. And it's fine,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: it's fine, but I just don't think he really understands
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: how fast you really were. I don't think. I don't
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: think I do. I don't think I get it. Hey,
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: I couldn't prove it to you. I'm not in the
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I'm not in the state that I could prove it
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: to you. But I just thought that that was so
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: funny that my brother was like, I got to prove
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: to Will Compton.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: That he's like, he's there tape my Yeah, there's probably
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: some tape out. We got to get some tape. We'll
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: get some tape. We'll get some tape.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: But that was his one g takeaway is that he
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: is sorry that he came to my defense so strongly
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: in that conversation. Oh yeah, I didn't think anything of it.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: I loved it. And my mom sweeps in with the
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: ultimate segue and I love chef, but oh I feel
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: bad for his volunteers. Yeah, and it just shifted. I'm
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: hardy bring that. I did not mean that in about
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: your mom's funny sweetheart. Bro It hurt people, hurt people.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Your mom's such a sweetheart too.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: She and I'm in a couple convos with her, and
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: I'm feeling like I'm feeling like she's wanted to talk,
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: like not talk ball with me, but kind of show
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: that she can talk some ball. And she's like talking
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: about Bam and everything else can kind of just she
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: can just kind of grinning and smiling about it, and
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: no one's like she wants to she wants to let
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: me know that she knows what's going on, that she knows.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Ball I will. This is the last thing I say
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: about because it was a funny moment. But we watched
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: the Alabama Tennessee game together and after the pick six
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: she was shouting. We had to tell her to be
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: quiet because Scarlett was sleeping because she was screaming at
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: the top of her lungs. And she goes, sorry, Chef,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: exactly like that, So you have I'm just saying, you
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: have all the right in the world that if the
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: tides turned and y'all beat Bama, you can take a
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: shot at Miss Amy. I won't. That's what you get
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: to do when you win, just like last year.
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: That's on the field. I was like, that's you. That's
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: why you love the game. Yeah, it's because when you win,
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: you get to be on top of the world. When
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: you lose, everything doesn't matter, like life sucks well.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: And that's why I'm saying, when you do win, you
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: have a free pass. You can take a shot at
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: miss Miss Amy is too sweet. I can't number text Hey,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: it's part of the game. Can't hear what you're saying now,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: can I? Hey? Love working with your son, though I
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: have a good one. I have a good one. But yeah,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: the week the weekend was great. It was just a reminder,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: it is uh for any parents out there that you
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: are in a town starting a family that is far
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: separate away from like your core family or maybe your cousins,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: your aunts, et cetera, make sure to prioritize that time
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: with your family, because God, lea needed that. Like I
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: wouldn't even call it a reset, but just like a
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: refreshing of just having family around and just like, oh,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: there's something so great about it. Dude. Yeah, it was
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: really really good and just.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: A reminder too that those times are precious because you
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: just don't know how many you're gonna have.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Yes, dude, when y'all were talking about that was out
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: on the bus when you were talking about the mathematical
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: equation of how.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Yeah, there's like a graph out there, I know, the
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Five Types of Wealth by sa Heel Bloom. Yes, book,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: he's got the graphs in there of how much you
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: see your kids, like you know, when they're born and
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: when they're in high school and how it starts to
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: take off in college and when they live on their
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: own and start a family.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's just it's crazy to visually see it.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: Yes, And so I love that you feel that way,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: because I feel like those are the moments of perspective
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: where just you just enjoy it that much more because
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: you you just truly don't know.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: How many of those times you're going to have.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Yeah, anything else from the weekend you want to hit on?
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: No, that was really it. The only other thing is
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: we had to sit at the dinner table and listen
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: to my mom pitched like forty different grandma names, and
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: uh we finally we landed on Sonny that's spelled with
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: an I E. Don't do it with the y. Okay,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Sonny with an I E? And so in an Ie,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: No wills as you in an I E because if
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: you spell it wrong, she's not gonna be happy. Okay,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: all right, sorry miss Yeah. Seriously it was a big
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: I mean we talked about it for like forty I
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: was like, all right with an I E. One of
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: the names didn't can we just do grandma? There was Queenie,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: uh buck all things that have nothing to do with
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: my mother, like no nickname that has ever uh cozy
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: and I'm just sitting there, but Buck coz Queenie, and
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: I'm sitting there, I'm going, Mom, when have we ever
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: called you these things?
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Like Mom, You're not even in the realm of grandmother name,
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: Like you're just trying to rename yourself.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Yeah, we're naming a new dog at this point. What
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: And so I put that to the PT sixers out there.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: How did y'all come up with your grandma names and
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: grandpa names? Because I don't even know if Sonny's gonna be.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: Be it, but I mine, like mine, very old fashioned.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: It was grandma and grandpa. And then on my mom's
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: side because my dad's side grandparents my grand or my
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: dad's side parents, they were grandma and Grandpa because they
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: lived in the proximity of Saint Francis County.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: Yeah, my mom's parents who lived h Colorado one point
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: in Kansas City, but they were in another state, they
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: were known as Grandma Jerry and Grandpa Charlie. Okay, So
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: it's just that's what I knew growing up. So when
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Charle was coming at me with like, what are we
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: gonna name? What do you wanted to call your dad?
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: I'm just like grandpa And she's like, you don't want
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: like Paul Paul like, I've heard people do that, but
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: I'm just more like, I'm just like a grandma and
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: grandpa guy. She's like, well, they gotta have something different
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: from my parents, Like you just don't like Grandpa Grandpa,
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Grandpa Alex and Grandma Luisa. But it's more of the
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Filipino ties. It's the Filipino version of Grandma and Grandpa,
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: which is Lola and Nopah loves.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, I can get on board with that.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I love that, but I don't.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: I don't have a dog in the fight when it
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: comes to helping your mom figure out a name, because
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: to me, it's it's like she's truly trying to rename herself.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Yes, and I just want she wants me to call
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: her Sonny, I'll call her son That's what I did.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I leaned into it the whole weekend. I said, Sonny,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: here's scarlet, Scarlet, look at your Sonny. Yeah, it's your Sonny.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: Say good morning. So yeah, if that's what she wants,
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: that's what she'll get.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Did you tell your mom like, hey, Mama, want you
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: to start calling me Thor? Like I'm changing my name
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: for you.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: I'm Thor. Yeah, I'm thor to you now. If anything,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: I should be Sonny because my nickname was Sunshine when
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: I was a little kid, So maybe I should be Sonny. Yeah,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: kind of taking my name, but buck cozy, Mom, what
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: we doing, Queenie, Queenie, there's a whole list I need
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: to have her Well, that would be actually a really
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: funny graphic. She has a notes app list of all
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: of her grandma names since she wanted to go by Gotcha.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: I'll get that. I would love to see it. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: I get that.
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: The name that my dad's mom selected was what my
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: brother called her, and so we had grandma and Grandpa
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: my dad on my mom's side. My dad's mom is
- 1:15:15Speaker 6: called Manga because that was just what my dumbass baby
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: brother uttered out of his mouth when he saw her.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: So forever she is Manga, which is what I kind
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: of mess with that. She writes it with an L
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: at the end, like Mungo. I don't don't, it's Munga.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: And I told miss Amy I love you. By the way, Mom,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: I'm not mad with you. I'm doing this because it's funny.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I told her. This is Sonny's a placeholder because whatever
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Scarlet calls you, that's going to be your name. I
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: want to go to the manga route of she just
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: you know whatever she says, Seba yeah you, Diba no yeah,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Depa now diba no.
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: I'm thinking about it. How common is it that grandparents
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: take it different? Because I had one side of my
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: family was Grandma and Grandpa, and then the other was
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: Grandpy and Gigi.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Right, people have a lot of different mall Paul, Paul, Yeah.
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: Yeah, now I'm thinking about it. I wonder if it's like,
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: depending on where you live, everyone dropped drop what your
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: call your grandparents?
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Yes, that's a great call.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Let's get a little there's gotta be a pt sixer
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: out there. That's like laughing and pointing at the screen
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: about how Grandma wanted to be called something out like
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: something like along those lines.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like my mom told me to call her.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: I don't know, Oh dude. I had Julie my grandmother
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Juju Charlie chat chaw. George was dad Osh because my
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: brother couldn't pronounce it, and Diane was Honey cookie because
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: everyone called her honey, but my brother would always get
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: a cookie at her house, and so he would always say, honey, cookie,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: because he wanted a cookie and then it just turned
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: into honey cookie. That's awesome. There we go. That's all
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I had to say about that. I'm ready to move
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: on my crack of cold one.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: I so have a I have a solid cracker cole
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: one and thinking about it too, because I wasn't. I
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: didn't talk about it a whole lot last week. But
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: I had that lunch date with Rue when I came
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: home on Thursday. Oh yes, my craik, a cold one
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: is gonna be one on one time with your kids.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: I had uh at a time where I came back
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: last Thursday, I had the afternoon, took Rude to lunch.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: We went to Baar Bones Butcher here in Nashville. No
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: free shoutouts to Barbones Butcher. Loved that spot. It's a
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: great spot. And uh ice cream over at Jenny's. This
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: week of Charlo takes Rue to London and uh. I'll
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: get to the quote topic lesson the text that I
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: ended up sending my wife last night under you know,
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: I had some vitamins in my system.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: It was just kind of in my fields. I forgot
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: about that, but I was I'm thinking of myself, like why.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: I'm just thinking to myself, like why it's all so
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: important to have the uh one on one time with
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: your kids because again, life is just so busy you
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: end up losing sight of some of the some of
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: these things. Uh not like before it's too late, but
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: just a lot of times you just think back on
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: moments where you should have been a little bit more
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: intentional to have those moments.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Because I'm listening to a video of your show, I Man,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: it just made me so sad with Rue and her.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: Old voice talking about the trash can recycling and cardboard
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: and high five in her And so I'm thinking about
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: why all this one on one time is so important
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: because I was so fired up for Charlie and Rue
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: to go to London, to go international, see the world,
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: see some of these things involving like Peter Pan and
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: some of the hot spots in London, the landmarks, the parks,
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: the food, all of that stuff.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Yeah, And if.
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: Like thinking about why it's all important is when you're
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: having that one on one time with your kid because
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: a lot of times when you have that second one,
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: the first one will not feel abandoned or anything else,
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: but they just they go the anxiety of that attention
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: that they're probably going to lose for Mama and dadad,
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: which then makes them act.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Out and do all these other things.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: And having that solo time to just have conversations with
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: your little one or just spend quality time without mom
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: or without the other parent or without your siblings, to
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: know that you are just focused on them. I'm looking
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: up things on why it's all important. It protects attachment
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: and their sense of security and feeling when they're feeling
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: displaced or they are losing that attention when the new
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: one comes along. It supports that emotional adjustment because again
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: a lot of moving parts are happening. When a second
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: kid comes involved, or a third kid, it just gets
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: that much that time gets that much smaller, and it
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: helps them with that emotional adjustment of you're having that
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: focus one on one time to where now when you
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: come home and you're around the other siblings, or they
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: spend a lot of good time with dad, to where
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: they almost feel part of whatever solution Dad might be
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: involved in whenever you get home, versus that jealousy or
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: acting out and you're kind of wondering why they're acting out,
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: And then also encourages that healthier siblings relationship. So Rue's
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: just been a very good big sister and I hope
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: it continues to go that way. And I think a
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: lot of it will have to do is charl and
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: I always have in these moments every so often where
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: we're having that one on one time with Rue, and
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: then when Scotty becomes a and if we have a
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: third one, or when Scotti gets an age to know,
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: big sister does have a lot of first we celebrate
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: a lot of those, and it seems a little different
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: for Scotty because she's a second one coming through the first,
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: so the enthusiasm, they might notice the loss of enthusiasm
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: or comparing it or judging it. So whenever you're having
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: these one on one times, it encourages that healthy relationship.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: Because they have Dad for a day, or they have
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: one of us for a week, Charlie traveling to London
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: with r they come back and they're so ready to
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: pour back into the home because they feel so refreshed
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: and reset that they spend time with us decreases those
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: moments of acting out in jealousy. Why it's also important
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: for marriages, the couple satisfaction. Charles and I did that
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: staycation a couple weeks ago, and just the way it's
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: it like lowers your stress and helps with the co
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: parenting because you feel like you had this isolated moment
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: together without kids, being young again, feel like you're dating
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: your wife versus your rooming with your wife. Then you
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: come home and you just feel rejuvenated to pour into
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: the home to where if mom or dad has to
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: go do a certain thing, you're more prone to say, hey,
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: I'll handle this because you've had you protect yourselves and
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: having those those one off moments where you're having date
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: night a couple times a mornth or once a week,
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: or a coffee once a week or a staycation, it
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: prooves scope parenting and builds your consistency and emotional availability
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: for the kids. Like you'll know as you get as
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: you as Scarlet gets older, and you probably have had
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: these moments already, But when you have a date night
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: or whatever set aside for you and in jail and
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: then you come home, you almost feel like you're that
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: much more consistent because you don't have this thing weighing
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: on your shoulder of knowing like, man, my wife and
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: I haven't been putting in time for each other, we're
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: kind of noticing it, we're kind of feeling it, whether
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: we're on our phone, whether we're watching a show and
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: just going to bed, to where you now feel that
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: consistency a little bit more and you now feel that
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: like emotional availability that you feel like you can give
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: more to the kids because you've had this, You've had
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: these moments with your wife.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: So again, my.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: Crack of coal one is just thinking on those one
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: on one time with your kids, also the one on
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: one time with your wife, and just how much we
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: need to be cherishing those and being intentional with those,
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: and how what kind of dividends it pays when you
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: come back to the house.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: You could not be preaching more to the to the
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: choir on this. That's one of my favorite lessons kracklical
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: ones you've ever done, because that is what Jill and
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: I have been facing the most right now with Scarlett
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: and who are Jill and Sherman as parents now? But
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: also like we're married and we're friends and we want
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: to spend time with each other, and Sherman needs to
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: do a way better job of prioritizing time with Jill
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: as well of setting date nights and We've talked about this, dude.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: This is something that I do such a poor job
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: of planning those evenings with Jill and something we want
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: to get into. We're looking for our first babysitter, and
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: our first date night is going to be, uh, we're
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: gonna go see a movie. We're gonna keep it quick,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: just go see a movie, come right back home.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: But even then it comes with its challenges when you
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: the first time you get a babysitter, it's like you're
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: both kind of on edge. Wife a little bit more,
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: but you're both on edge. You both kind of feel bad.
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: You're like, should we be doing this? And I, man,
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: I can't tell you how I feel, like how important
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: it's been for me and Charles, like when we do
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: certain things together and get our time together, like we
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: went to last Sunday, we did a date night to
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: where I took her to the Dermot Kennedy concert that
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: was here in Nashville.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: That's a ryman and that was a great time.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: And just like you feel, you just feel like you're
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: operating so much more so as a team than just
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: your managers at the house trying to coexist. Yeah, dude,
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: and make it all happen and feeling drained, and we
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: can all think about it.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: It all comes out and.
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: Certain it rears its ugly head at certain times, and
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: when you actually sit and think about it, you know
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: it's just because we both haven't been pouring into us yes,
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: the way we need to, so that way we have
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: a full cup when.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: We come home. This thought crossed my mind, of uh,
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: and that's why my family being in town was so
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: incredible too. Of like we went on a morning walk
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: or like a hike really, and my brother and my
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: mom pushing Scarlet and I'm sitting there holding Jill's hand
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: and we're not holding anything or pushing anything. And I
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: literally could not remember the last time I was walking
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: with Jill and just holding her hand and we didn't
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: have Scarlet in one of our tests somewhere yes, And
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: I was like, oh, what a great monte. And I
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: just brought her in and put her armor or put
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: my arm around her and was walking with her. And
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, we gotta do way more of this.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: I know that's such a small moment, but that kind
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: of illustrates the idea of like we are it's so
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: desperate for it, Dude, I gotta do a better job
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: at planning that stuff. I have to.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: It's tough for the boys man the planning stuff. It's again,
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: it's an uncomfortable to new world.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: It's a new world, Derek. Not to take us off
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: the subject, but Derek had a great he illustrated it
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: so perfectly of what men were built for. Would you
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: mind running Pt? Six through that? I thought it was
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: very well said.
- 1:25:22Speaker 6: So this came off the heels of when Jill said,
- 1:25:25Speaker 6: can you turn the phone around? And she was getting after,
- 1:25:28Speaker 6: sure this is what you're talking about? Yes, yes, and
- 1:25:30Speaker 6: she was just saying, like, you know, these aren't These
- 1:25:32Speaker 6: aren't hard things to remember. It's two beers, not a
- 1:25:36Speaker 6: hot dog. And she was doing it in a very lovely,
- 1:25:38Speaker 6: caring fashion. And I said, I said, Jill, we as men,
- 1:25:43Speaker 6: our brains are built to protect the family from will
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: to Beast and Walrus's lions and tigers and bears and
- 1:25:52Speaker 6: criminals and bad things. And we, like the docile Golden Retriever,
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: have been dumbed down due to the world around us,
- 1:26:00Speaker 6: where we don't need to worry about wooly mammoths anymore.
- 1:26:02Speaker 6: And so I said, Joe, it's not that he's not
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: paying attention to you. His brain is firing to protect
- 1:26:08Speaker 6: you from the world. It's just that the world's a
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: little different these days. We're not caveman making flames.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: Like.
- 1:26:14Speaker 6: He's not ignoring you, he's protecting you. So if he
- 1:26:17Speaker 6: misses the little details, Jill, what's what's the end of
- 1:26:19Speaker 6: the world? Because guess what, you didn't get stampeded by
- 1:26:22Speaker 6: a wooly mammoth today.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, he looks at me.
- 1:26:25Speaker 6: He looks me and goes, it's pretty fucking good, he said,
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: where's that man?
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Like the retrievers that we are. It's that's really good.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: That's but we're trying our best. We're just flicking shit.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: We're figuring it out. And truly, I'm sitting here going, Okay,
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: electricity's paid, water's paid, trash went out, this was cleaned up,
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: this is the her car has gas in it, blah
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: blah blah, And yeah, I am like, Okay, I didn't
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: set a resie for a restaurant. I didn't da da da.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: I need to get that into my rotation. It's not
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: in my rotation yet, I know. And it's hard, bro.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: Thank you very well, said very well.
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: Said Derek, very well. Said, should we get to uh,
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: should we get to the hotline? I got to keep
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: it under an hour. Where are we at right now, Chef?
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: All right, that's a pretty good pace for hotline pace.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Pretty good pace right before we dive into hotline. Very
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: quick shout out to fan duel our quick. What are
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: the odds? Uh segment, what are the chances of your child,
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: upon birth going to Harvard or an Ivy League school?
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: Would you like to take a guess percentage wise of
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: the chance of one of your little girls going to
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Harvard our Ivy League school. Let's go point zero zero
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: zero three two seven. Okay, some point zero zero? Wait
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: have what I said, wait to have some faith? Point
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: zero zero three. You have the real stat. I have
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: the real sat I'm gonna get y'all's guesses to But
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: it's point zero zero three two seven.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: Zero zero zero three two seven, okay, three zero three
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: zeros three zero Chef zero, I ain't send my kid there, Okay.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm totally.
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: I'm fucking with the I'm fucking with the question.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That's that's on me. This is what guess
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: with the stat your kid Chef ain't ain't no yea,
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: you're gonna go to community college. It's like you're gonna
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: go Knoxville.
- 1:28:44Speaker 5: You wear the orange, You're going to Nayland Stadium every Saturday,
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: and half the time you're lofe yes like your dad did.
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: Don't do five years like your dad did either. I'll
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: go point zero zero zero one. I'll go four zeros,
- 1:28:56Speaker 5: oh zero zero zero zero one. I'm gonna put like
- 1:29:00Speaker 5: getting hit by lightning, it's.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: Gotta be worse than your chance to get struck by
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: lighting gott to be higher than going to Harvard because
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: they always use that stat with like the NFL. You
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: have a better chance to get struck by lightning than
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: playing in the NFL. And I got to think it's
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: even harder. Maybe, Right, there's.
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: Four kids that go to like those schools each have
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: like what a body of like five thousand people.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: How many people are in the NFL. It's like two
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: two thousand something. That's got to be it's got to
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: it's gotta be more. I'm thinking less. Yeah, forty seven hundred,
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: I believe is a student body body of undergrad forty seven,
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: A new flock of forty seven under the coming every year. Yes,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: like a class size. Yeah, that that's what we'll see.
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: I see what the anel is, fifty to fifty. They
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: either do it they don't. Fifty Is that your actual?
- 1:29:49Speaker 6: Like my actual guesses they either go to Harvard or
- 1:29:51Speaker 6: they don't.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: Okay, so you're going for fifty you either where you don't.
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: He may have won, Derek, he may have won. And
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: I'll need I'll need a pt Siko to like do
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: the math because y'all went too far on the decimals.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: It's point zero four to three percent, so I think
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: fifty percent may Actually that's only no.
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: Is that you you're saying that's percentage point zero four
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: to three percent? What are the odds point zero four
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: to three Yeah, but we will Yeah, you have hundreds level.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: But you're trying to you're trying to move it twice
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: right now to say, no, I'm moving his fifty percent.
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: I'm moving the decimal on his fifty percent. Trying to
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: guess because you how many zeros? No, Bro, he's at
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: fifty percent. We're we're at zero. We have a little
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: bit of a heartbeat at zero, and there's is still a.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: Little bit of hard going down.
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: Throw them one hundred to one thousandth which is to
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: an allianth, which is doesn't seem like a lot, but
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: that it's like, that's a lot of hundred.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: But we're in the we're in the we're in the
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: world between zero and zero and one percent. He's at fifty.
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: But if you think about it, if you go from
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: point zero one to point zero zero one, you're going
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: one hundred percent lower.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: Today, Man, I'm saying, we're in the world. We're in
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: the world of zero to minus one percent, right thirdle
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: one at least something like zero, That's what I'm saying.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: We're at least something is something. The answer he just
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: said is not even like it doesn't even get to
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: one percent. He's give me the give me the two numbers.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: I'm doing it right now. I'm like, what is closer
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: to point zero four to three? Is it fifty or
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: is it point zero zero zero three seven to two?
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: Calculating it's not point fifty fifty Okay, uh, it would be.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: The answer is point zero zero zero three seven two
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: is closer to point zero four to three.
- 1:31:54Speaker 6: So will wins, Yeah, margin I almost had you.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: No, it is. It is quite close. It is quite close.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: So what are the actual odds point zero four Yeah,
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: point zero four to three is your odds at birth
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: of attending an IVY league, which is kind of crazy,
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: but that was fun. I thought I would mix it
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: up with what are the odds? I get everyone involved? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: that to me.
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: You know, you almost had me like really questioning myself.
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: I'm like, no, there's three on one right here.
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: You're doing the math a collective look across all of us.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: The argument was there, and I was tripping myself up
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: because I was thinking, did you have four zeros? I
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: was thinking that chef chef still chef? A second? There
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: is he second?
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: Yes, Bro, we don't gotta check that me and chef
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: are between zero and one percent.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: He's at fifty percent. This isn't even close. Point zero
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: zero zero zero one is closer to point zero four two.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: I think we can all collectively say that our chances
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: of going to Harvard is ours are long gone. Ours

- 1:37:03Speaker 1: dot com. Wayfair, Every style, every home. Let's get back
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: to that episode this one. I'm a little scared name
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: our daughter.
- 1:37:13Speaker 9: Name a daughter he Willie Oneself and Fat Stafford. This
- 1:37:19Speaker 9: is Seamus Colin from Chandler, Arizona looking for advice on names.
- 1:37:25Speaker 9: My wife and I are expecting our first girl at
- 1:37:29Speaker 9: the end of November, and I know is one girl
- 1:37:33Speaker 9: dad to another. You guys have some fantastic names, Scarlet, Rue, Scottie.
- 1:37:41Speaker 9: They're unique, they're cute, they're sophisticated. I need some advice
- 1:37:47Speaker 9: on how to pick names with my wife. She has
- 1:37:50Speaker 9: some favorites and they're not mine, but we've got to
- 1:37:54Speaker 9: a top three and I want to give her ultimate control.
- 1:37:58Speaker 9: But I'm interested to see what you guys did with
- 1:38:01Speaker 9: name in your three daughters. Also your opinion on our
- 1:38:05Speaker 9: top three. Yes, we have Sarah, Fina, Violet, Ocean. Give
- 1:38:12Speaker 9: me your opinion, appreciate it.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: I mean Violet through and through. I kind of mess
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: with ocean. You mess with Ocean.
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: I mess with Ocean because Ru's name is Cerulian Cerulian Water. Yeah,
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: Ocean here.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: This is my only thing that I'm going to throw
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: out there. I like, if this is my buddy running
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: through these names with me, and he's like, Sherman, what's
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: your opinion. Ocean's gonna get you. No pun intended in
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: some deep water deep in middle school. Yeah, she will
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: get picked off. That's kind of why I like it.
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: Resilient. Resilience, by the way, is my number one.
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: Value when we when we talk about the value, we're resilience. Yes,
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: it's number one. That makes all the sense in the world.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: But I do like Violet. What was the other one?
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: Sarah Fina Sarafina. I like Violet. I like colors. I
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: like Sarah Fena for the like. You have a ton
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: of options there, Sarah Fiefee. We would throw or I
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: had a what you're doing right now? Go ahead.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: You're just making this that much harder for them because
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: they've had these conversations with each other.
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: We're talking about.
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: Pros and cons for all three names, and my man's
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: looking for is there one that you guys win at
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: from those three?
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: Violet? Okay, I think we're we can. We can get
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: on board with Violet. Violet's a beautiful name. It's not
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: fee though, it's do you see what you're doing? I
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: don't want to do it. Do you see what you're doing?
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: A Violet is a beautiful name. It's old school. Excuse me,
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: it's a color which is really fun. We've already done
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: with scarlet, like when she's wearing some scarlet stuff, like, yeah,
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: it's kind of cute. I like Violet. It sounds like
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: Chef likes Violet, Derek Violet.
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: I like Violet. I'm down to go with Violet. Okay,
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: I just want to give him a name. I want
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: to give him one name.
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: You know what I mean. Yeah, And if you're showing
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: mom this for the first time, uh, hello, welcome. We
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: think all the options are great, but we selected Violet.
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: But we think all the options they're all good. Mom.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: If you want to go a different direction, I support you,
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: totally totally support you. But yeah, name or Violet.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: But if dad, hey dad, If a mom wants Violet
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: the most but you don't really care for Violet, just
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: think like, hey, sweetheart, what if somebody calls.
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: Her big v take Violet off the list.
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: But that's just for the survival kid. That's just for
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: the tool bag if you need it. But if you
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: love Violet, is.
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: That I forget? I said that?
- 1:40:52Speaker 5: Is that like a kind of a nasty dad hack
- 1:40:55Speaker 5: that if there's a name that you really don't want
- 1:40:57Speaker 5: you just come up with the nastiest thing.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: We kind of an instantly.
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: If you get a good enough one, she'd be like,
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: oh fuck, like we can't do that.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: Well. I was fortunate is Charle came up with Cerulean. Yeah.
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: I liked it off the I liked it. I liked
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: it out of the jump. And then the second time
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: with Scotti, Charle wanted boy names. So there are a
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: lot of cool boy names that I think, go, you know,
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: flip both ways that I just I liked a lot
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: of the boy names four girls.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: Yeah. One that I'm on right now is Ricky from
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: Chad Powers.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: Oh that's a great name, Ricky from Chad Have you
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: watched Chad Powers.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: I haven't started it yet.
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: It's a good show. Is sick so much good about it.
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: I'm on The Diplomat right now on Netflix.
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you were that. That scene came out season three.
- 1:41:43Speaker 5: I started from season one. I'm on season three now
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: after three days. It's incredible.
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: Okay, Jille and I gotta start that tonight because he
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: pitched me on the show. I need I need to
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: do we need a good show. Yeah.
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: But so I feel like just to finish that up,
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: I feel like I kind of got lucky, and so
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: then I just got to kind of lean what the
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: life wanted to do when when we settled on Scottie
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: because we got Scotty from the the Suits. Yeah, the
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: female character in that in that show where she was
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: named Scotty so and and hey, I wanted Billy, but
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: you know the friend of the friend they named their
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: kid Billy.
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: Billy mays here and now she gets to hear that
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: for the rest of her life. Yeah. Who won? Yeah,
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: the Comptons. Yeah, and it sounds like you already won.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: You got a top three. You won, dude. She's in
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: the driver's seat. She gave you a top three and said,
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: what's your opinion, Give her your opinion, let her make
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: the decision. We're all winning, all winning.
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: Yeah, we're all We're all gonna win from this. Yes,
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: I hope that helped. I hope that helped put us
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: in a tough spot. Tough spot. Fe fee big v ocean, Yeah, ocean. Yeah,
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: you're gonna get some deep water.
- 1:42:52Speaker 8: One shelf and old Fat Stafford is chriss down here.
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: In South Georgia.
- 1:42:57Speaker 8: So wanted to come on here and say.
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: That new father. I can't believe that.
- 1:43:03Speaker 8: My little girls about to be two weeks old on Sunday.
- 1:43:07Speaker 8: If it wasn't for y'all, would know anything but what
- 1:43:09Speaker 8: I'm doing. Uh, it's been the best, it's been the worst.
- 1:43:14Speaker 8: And I can't be more happy.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: I mean, I can't like if.
- 1:43:19Speaker 8: I if I'm happier, I might freaking explode because it's
- 1:43:23Speaker 8: so fucking happy.
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: I I just want.
- 1:43:26Speaker 8: To let y'all know that everything y'all do, I appreciate it.
- 1:43:30Speaker 8: And every single day I look forward to hearing something
- 1:43:34Speaker 8: from y'all. And it doesn't matter. I know you don't
- 1:43:36Speaker 8: think that you're you know, you're an experts by any means,
- 1:43:41Speaker 8: but you're the example, and you set in the tone,
- 1:43:43Speaker 8: and I'm very appreciative that you set in the tone.
- 1:43:46Speaker 5: I love you, guys. I can't wait to hear more.
- 1:43:49Speaker 8: And uh, go dogs, that's all I gotta say. Love
- 1:43:52Speaker 8: you boys, to kiss his big hugs.
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: Let's go. What was his name?
- 1:43:59Speaker 8: Was it?
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: Chris? Chris Chris from Georgia. Yeah, Chris Chris down in George.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: Shout out Chris, Shout out Chris. I'm so happy for Chris.
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: I could spontaneously combust. Yeah truly, Yeah.
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: And you felt you felt his happiness too, Like it's
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: such a true, genuine feeling, but also feels like a
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: force feeling because you're so happy, because there's also so
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: much suck that comes with.
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: Parenthood those first two weeks, especially getting on the sticks
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: with you guys, like pubg late at night and I
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: I'm like, how am I awake right now? Yeah? How
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: am I functioning right now? How am I carrying a conversation?
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: But also you can hear it in your voice, like
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: how much fun you're having, but how you're also like
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: in the pits of hell at the same moment.
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, because when they're young like that too, it's they're
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: more like the moments are more so few and far
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: in between because you're in such a grind.
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: Yeah, like I could off myself. Yeah, there's a great
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: video that y'all were referring to. The dad keeps on
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: crossing the camera at each time he's like time in
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: my life, Like the things in the background are just
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: getting worse and worse and worse, and he's getting happier.
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: And yeah, it does feel like that, dude. It's just
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: the full embracing of the suck. Yes, it's all it is. Yeah,
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: Chris is embodying embody.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: I could not feel happier or I would explode. Would
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: I would die if I got happier. Next, next call,
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: last call. Hey.
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: By the way, Georgia Bulldog fans too. Like I was
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: hearing a story the other week. I was at this
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: I was at this party and a gentleman came up
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: to me and we were kind of just talking shop,
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: and he was just talking about how much he hated
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: Georgia Bulldog fans. He's like, you go into their stadium
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: and they beat you, and you're you're, you're you're outside
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: the stadium after people are just barking in your face.
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: Yeah, they fucking suck. No, there's nothing better than walking
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: in I went to the TCUSU game with my brother
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: at Cowboys Stadium and just having literally thousands of people
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: lined up as TCU fans are walking into the stadium
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: just going talker bite, tnner bite, talker bite. I loved it.
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: I was like, God, SEC fans are different. So magic
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: Et barked at that same yeah, same thing where you're
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: walking into the stadium with little Scottie and little Roue.
- 1:46:43Speaker 5: Hey, hey, and look, I'll be dead serious here. They
- 1:46:46Speaker 5: will bark at your five year old kid that's walking there.
- 1:46:48Speaker 5: Grown men, forty year old men will sit down there
- 1:46:51Speaker 5: and say the nastiest shit. They pose as nice people,
- 1:46:54Speaker 5: they're not. They're not good people at all. I'm sure
- 1:46:58Speaker 5: we love you, Chris, Chris, I'm of course all the
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: best wishes to you.
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: Awesome dude.
- 1:47:04Speaker 5: But when it comes to being a fan, no, they're
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: They're genuinely awful. They don't get talked enough about how
- 1:47:09Speaker 5: much they fucking sucked either, because I think that you know,
- 1:47:13Speaker 5: they they had a rick and stuff, but for a
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: long time they weren't that good. But they are like
- 1:47:17Speaker 5: up there with like Bama Florida. Those are the teams
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: that I have issues with.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, barad, And just keep that in mind
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: when you're calling in, guys, if you're gonna be saying
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: those teams, at least give Chef a shout out. At
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: least you say something nice. Yeah, turn the tide on
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: it the way he thinks about your team. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: I would have loved to have heard Chris just start
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: barking at the end of that voicemail.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: Chrits better calling next week and go I have a
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: dad question this one's actually for him. Do not call
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: the phone in bark.
- 1:47:53Speaker 6: I'm begging you, do not call the phone and say, hey,
- 1:47:55Speaker 6: this is for chef and bark.
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: Please. And so we were coming home from the date.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Everything's going fine. We walk in and all.
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: Go dog go dog, Oh my god, Please don't do that.
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: Don't do don't do that. Don't waste Chef's time on
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: going through voicemails. And he just has to hear bark
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: after bark. Hey, he's a chef.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: I'm assuming as chef we have we've had a really
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: tough time lately. We're going through a whole lot. I'll
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: break it down for you guys, just like ten minutes.
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: Sob story, voicemailing at the end, none of that's true.
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: Fuck you, blah blah blah. That just makes me laugh
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: super hard. So sorry, Chef, it's okay.
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: Like I said, part of the games, I'm just hearing
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: bark after bark.
- 1:48:51Speaker 5: I do want to clarify half very quick. I'm sure
- 1:48:55Speaker 5: there's some fans of Kneeling from the hills that are
- 1:48:58Speaker 5: not also very nice. Yeah, I can act like we're saints.
- 1:49:01Speaker 5: In fact, I know we're not saints. I laughed in
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: a kid's face after we beat him when we beat
- 1:49:05Speaker 5: Florida two years ago.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: So I mean, all been there, all been there, and
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: it wasn't real one time. You know, I've done it.
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: Last one.
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: Here we go, Frilla, what's going on? This is John
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: from Chicago and I got the.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Weirdest dad hack for you guys.
- 1:49:28Speaker 4: So, my wife and I we have a ten month
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: old boy. He does not know how to sleep through
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: the night. So we're going through the trenches every night
- 1:49:37Speaker 4: about two or three hours. It's up, gotta get him
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: back down. It's been a struggle. My wife though, she
- 1:49:44Speaker 4: talk to one of her friends.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: At work who said we should try.
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: This method when he gets his bath every night, and
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: it's I'm calling it cabbage soup. Sounds weird, and it
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: is kind of weird. What we've been doing is we've
- 1:49:59Speaker 4: been popping up cabbage, boiling it, and then using that
- 1:50:04Speaker 4: boiled cabbage soup water.
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: And putting it in his bath.
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: And now ever since we started it, this week, boys
- 1:50:14Speaker 4: sleeping through the night and we are starting to feel
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: like ourselves again.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: Don't know why it works, but it's working. So if
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: there's any other dads.
- 1:50:24Speaker 4: Out there and your kids are struggling to sleep and
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: you're in they're in that you know, Todther phase, infant face.
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: Still go with the cabbage soup man, Chop up some cabbage,
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: boil it down, toss it in that tub, and hopefully
- 1:50:39Speaker 4: you get you a kid that's sleeping through the night.
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: It's been great anyways, Love the podcast, Take Care of Boys.
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: What the fuck did I just listen? I'll tell you
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: what you just listened to. I'll pay I'll illustrate a picture.
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: We're looking at a Djenga tower right now, that's on
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: one block at the bottom, and that being fucking doing
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: this don't well done? Well done. That's all I'm gonna say. Well,
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: that's all you got, That's all I got.
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm the picture I'm thinking of my head is
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: you're in hell. Yeah, you start going crazy inside and
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: there ain't nothing off limits that we're gonna do and
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: try to get this boy down.
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: Will in those first four weeks with Scarlett, where it
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: was every two hours, if you had called me and
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: told me, like Triman, if you stand naked out in
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: your front yard for everyone to see, and you sing
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: this song verbatim, Scarlet's gonna go through the night, I
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: promise you I would have done it. Yeah. I would
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: have been desperate enough to do it.
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, who would have thought cabbage soup?
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: I hear boiled cabbage, boiled cabbage, I hear socks. I
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: gotta look that up. Maybe it's a thing. Have you
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: ever googled onion socks.
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: I've heard of onion socks onions and it works, and
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: there's like actual bit off.
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: I went into a deep tunnel on onion socks.
- 1:52:09Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: You cut up onions, yellow onions, You put them in
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: the bottom of your kids socks. You put them on
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: at night when they're running a fever, and there's like
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: one other thing that it can help treat, and the
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: antioxidants and the whatever helps sweat out the fever. It's
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: so weird, dude. It's like a legitimate thing that I
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: don't think doctors are sitting there saying, hey, you put
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: onions in the socks, but there are like health benefits
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: to it. It's weird, so boiling cabbage to get your
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: kid to go to bed. Like I said, the Jenga
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: tower is almost about the fall and just don't don't
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: touch it. That sounds great, I'm seeing it.
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: They must have been in deep on Reddit because there's
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: no scientific evidence that supports it.
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: But this is just a floating.
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: Dad hack that I'm glad you shared, but I'm reading
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: on Reddit we gave baby boy a lettuce bath last night,
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: and they're like, uh sheese. Basically, our baby's always been
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: an amazing sleeper, and suddenly a few weeks ago this
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: game to an abrupt end. He fights every single nap
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: people when his eyes are completely glossed over and his
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: eyelids are heavy. He went from waking up once overnight
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: to now every two to three hours. He went from
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: sleeping in his crib beside our bed perfectly fine to
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: whaling the moment we put him in, no cuddles, no sleeping.
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: He also decided he hates his binking. Now not to
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: mention every single time he wakes up it's in a rage.
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: He'll be five months soon, so we figured four months
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: sleep aggression. Who knows if it's real or not, but
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: clearly something changed for him que the lettuce bath. I
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: read that giving a baby a remain lettuce bath could
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: help with sleep. I know it's a bit of a
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: folksy home remedy, but after two weeks of struggling. I figured,
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: why not give it a try. This is where this
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: family's at, this is ten months.
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: As I laid him against my shoulder to burp. Oh wait,
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: about thirty minutes after the we gave him his last
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: night feed. As I laid him against my shoulder to
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: burp him, he immediately closed his eyes and went to sleep.
- 1:54:07Speaker 5: What.
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: A few minutes later, I put him in his crib,
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: fingers crossed. I washed him, fuss a little bit, but
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: gently rocked him back and forth twice, back out Instantly.
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: He slept in his crib like a chant for five hours.
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: I'm in disbelief. He still woke up for a night feed,
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: but immediately went back to sleep. He finally woke up
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: for the day. He woke up stretching and laughing. I
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: was in shock. Anyways, not sure if the random lettuce
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: bath or it was just random better night. But I'm
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: doing it again.
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: So again. Chop ahead of lettuce, chop ahead of cabbage,
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: chop ahead of cap, boiling some water and put in
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: that put in that bath, dude, I'm telling you do it.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: Whatever works, why not? Why not? I do have a
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: quick bathtime story. By the way, I would love to
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: hear it. We just had the cutest moment with Scarlet.
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: We take her di'pe be off. She's sitting there and
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: mom's arms. She's about to go into bathtime. She loves
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: battime and she just gets this cute smile going and
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: I'm just I want a squeeze her. I want a
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: squeeze her. And then I see and hey, this might
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: be what you.
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: Want to love on her so hard it's like to
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: the point of suffocation, but you just yeah, I love
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: him so much.
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: That is the perfect description of it. And for the
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: non dad listeners out there, or the non parent listeners,
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: you might not understand this next part. I might get
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: I might get some flack for this. Sorry to me.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: I see, I see her a little butt, and I'm
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: just like, this little little booty, What is going on?
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: She's just this little thing. And I go in and
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: I go, oh, I could almost pinch that butt to
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: make Jill laugh. And when I go in, like it
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: was on cue dude, shotgun of poop, shotgun of poop
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: on you on my hand all over like Jill's arm.
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: But will I'm talking Mike bait like shotgun blasts you
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: pass my face we were centimeters away from like, I
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: never want to touch Scarlett again. Don't even look at me.
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: That's when that pisces you off and you want them
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: to know some way, somehow that hey, I'm mad at you.
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah. And five seconds later, of course we like
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: have her in the bath and she's like, ah, cause
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: she's laughing. Now it's all funny games. Now he's shitting
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: on Natty. He shitting on Mama. That funny.
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you want to see what's funny. You get the
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: cup of water and you just dump it.
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: On their head. Oh can you breathe again? Wait, where's
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: the laugh going? Where's the small You're not laughing anymore?
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: Easier that go? Oh no, but dude, we're talking. Just
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: start waterboarding. It is funny and bad time. They all
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: accident if you'all never participated in a bad time, the
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: smallest little drop of water could accidentally brush over their
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: eyelash and it's like somebody punched them in the like, And.
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: You're trying to get it down to a science on
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: just the line of how far can I get a
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: little enough to where he like gets off their heads?
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: Yes, Oh, it's so true. It is. There's like on
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: the crown of her head. I know exactly where the
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: water needs to hit, where it will go to, where
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: it'll be right here, But it gets the exact spot
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: that you need. Uh huh. Yeah, yeah, you've always learned
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: about that. You do, wait mane being a dad, so
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: cool man. You'll enjoy your video games and eating pizza
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: and watching football. Yeah comments or emails emails. Yeah, an
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: you rip one? Yeah mm hmmm hmmm.
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: Let me see here, I got Nick guy E, Tyler
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: Knox in Jose Lera. Let's go, I will do I'll
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: do Nick Giles first. All right, here we go. This
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: one's on Instagram. This week, I found myself very fortunate
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: and blessed.
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: I had to work.
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: I had a work accident and drove my work truck
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: off a mountainside about thirty feet down. Jesus flipped one time,
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: for sure, but I was able to walk out on
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: my own accord. All I could think about was my
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: wife and my sons. Someone was looking out for you.
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: Boy above. Listening to the Boys forty eight hours after
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: a near death experience brings things into perspective. Focus on
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: your little circle, be present, and remember us dads can
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: get through anything.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: Pet Siko out. Bro. By the way, he tagged me
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: in a picture of the crash, and I replied back
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: and was like, oh my god, dude, I'm like the
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: fact that someone walked away from this is crazy. I'll
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: send that to y'all. It was, I mean, showed on
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: the episode you after the episode, dude, the fact he's
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: a lot there's a tree branch quite literally like almost
- 1:59:06Speaker 1: going through the windshield. Not a tree branch, a tree trunk.
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: And you can see the cliff face like in the back.
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: It's like.
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: They glad you're here with us, buddy, Yeah, glad that
- 1:59:19Speaker 2: that'll get you into perspective. Yeah, because I know, like like,
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: do you think about it as a day, like, man,
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: what if something happened to me? Or what if something
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: happened to mom and you're without you know, you're without
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: the other parent. My family's growing up without.
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: Dude. I think about that type of stuff all the time.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: What was it called when you performed the act of
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: riding shockwave?
- 1:59:40Speaker 7: Uh?
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: What is that? Like? You not conceive? Is it conceived?
- 1:59:44Speaker 1: Do what though? Like when you have sex like coitus?
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: But was that called like I was conceived? Instee conceived?
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: A week after a maybe a couple of days after
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: a drunk driving accident that my was in. He was
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: hit head on by a drunk driver and the EMTs
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: were like, where's the driver of this vehicle? And my
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: dad's sitting there. All he had was like maybe a
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: broken nose or something. He's like me. They're like, no, buddy,
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: you're concussed that nobody survived from this. He's like, no,
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: I was the driver in that vehicle. It's crazy.
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: I wouldn't be here. Yeah, man, all battle staff, Nick
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: Glad you're all right, bro.
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: Joe Saba sends us an email. Joe says, what's up, boys,
- 2:00:29Speaker 1: Joe here from Chicago. Longtime bust and listener found out
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: I was going to be a dad a little before
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: this pod started and been taped, and since episode one,
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: baby Boy is due in February. I got the original
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: PT six shirt hanging in my closet ready for the
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: d date, like I'm getting ready for an All Star game.
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: I can't wait until this little dude is here. I
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: finally got the wife to start tuning in. It instantly
- 2:00:54Speaker 1: became a weekly sit down to watch you guys on YouTube.
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: I knew we finally when she hit me with a
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: good one evening. We truly feel you guys have given
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: tips lessons that we will one hundred percent remember and
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: every parent can learn from. We can't wait to keep
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: up with you boys in your guys' journeys. What you
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: guys are doing is absolutely amazing. Thank you for opening
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: up about your parenthood. You guys got us laughing and
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: also crying weekly. Been wanting to write you guys forever.
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: Appreciate you guys for everything. A bunch of fucking legends.
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: Smoke coming out of the nose emoji dude, thank you
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: for the email. Bro, Thank you. Joe, Yeah, thank you Joe.
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: I love that he's wrapping up PT six shirt again
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: BWTB dot com for your Papa Team six gear.
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: There's now three iterations of it and to go off
- 2:01:44Speaker 1: and to go off that one.
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: I have two here that are expecting fathers probably share
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: a lot of the same, you know, scares that are
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: coming up. This one's talks on Instagram. I'm not a
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: part of Papa Team six yet, but I listen every weekend.
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: I'm putting it, all of it in my memory bank.
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: I'm about thirty days out from getting engaged, and it's
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: striking me that fatherhood is closer than ever for me.
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: I wanted to thank you, by the way, congratulations congrats
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: on getting on thirty days out from getting engaged.
- 2:02:10Speaker 1: So he's not engaged yet.
- 2:02:12Speaker 6: Looking back on it, what we might want to do
- 2:02:14Speaker 6: is restart and run that as an anonymous because it
- 2:02:16Speaker 6: didn't hit me. I read it and it didn't hit
- 2:02:17Speaker 6: me to right now that like if we may have
- 2:02:21Speaker 6: fucked up, so yeah, I might. I should have wrote
- 2:02:24Speaker 6: a big old anonymous on that, son. I don't know
- 2:02:25Speaker 6: why I hold the micause we're cutting this ship. Should
- 2:02:27Speaker 6: hold a big old anonymous on it, all right. I
- 2:02:29Speaker 6: didn't even he didn't even stay, don't mention?
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm sitting putting again on thirty days
- 2:02:34Speaker 2: out from getting engaged. Yeah, I'm thinking, buddy, well we're
- 2:02:39Speaker 2: we this is now. If you're his girl, maybe she's
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: maybe she tunes in the for the dads.
- 2:02:45Speaker 1: Who knows? Is he wanting us to do something?
- 2:02:47Speaker 2: No, I'm just I'm just saying, like he's saying, he's
- 2:02:50Speaker 2: not engaged yet, he hasn't proposed wife, he doesn't know
- 2:02:52Speaker 2: this is coming. Yeah, and he's letting us know he's
- 2:02:55Speaker 2: thirty days out. I'm just saying, would have said what if?
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: The what if?
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: Anybody who's connected? I was going to keep saying this
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: first and last name. Listen to this as I Hey,
- 2:03:04Speaker 2: you got an engagement coming your way here in about
- 2:03:06Speaker 2: twenty five days.
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: Does he have like a message for us? Probably it's
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: a whole it's a whole thing.
- 2:03:13Speaker 2: But I'm just I was catching myself as I'm reading it, like,
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: hang on a second.
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: Yeah, And again that's why I'm like, if we're part
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: of the secret, what do we do? We could also
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: just hold that one off.
- 2:03:21Speaker 6: I'll bring it back like the episode before what thirty
- 2:03:24Speaker 6: days from comment?
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: Just silence when I'm saying his name. Just silence when
- 2:03:29Speaker 2: I'm saying his name, So we get you know, yeah, yeah,
- 2:03:31Speaker 2: my boys? Should you know you can't.
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: Put your name. You gotta let us know.
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: Hey, you got to say anonymous to start this, start
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: this email, or start this comment.
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: We're going to keep this person anonymous. They didn't ask
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: us to keep them anonymous.
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: We're helping him out. We're helping him out. Okay, here
- 2:03:45Speaker 2: we go. I wanted to thank you all for making
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: this podcast. I've been a busting fancis damn near the beginning.
- 2:03:49Speaker 2: I grew up with an abusive and then absent father
- 2:03:52Speaker 2: and left me with really no idea how my father
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: should act. And obviously you pick up knowledge from others
- 2:03:57Speaker 2: as you move through life. However, this show is open
- 2:03:59Speaker 2: up my eyes the intricacies of fatherhood and kind of
- 2:04:02Speaker 2: what it looks like as someone who didn't have a
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: father in the home.
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: That is huge for me.
- 2:04:06Speaker 2: Thank y'all again for making these every week. I just
- 2:04:09Speaker 2: wanted to share from the perspective of someone younger. I
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: am twenty two trying to wrap my head around what
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: it even matters to be a father. Y'all are awesome,
- 2:04:17Speaker 2: keep up through great work and.
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: What y'all do. Thank you, bro. It fires me up
- 2:04:20Speaker 1: there you're twenty ticket bleep that out, Hey buddy, Hey buddy,
- 2:04:24Speaker 1: Thank you, bay.
- 2:04:25Speaker 2: Buddy, and just a twenty year and two year old
- 2:04:27Speaker 2: turned it into a four. The Dad's Podcast. That's it's cool.
- 2:04:30Speaker 2: That's cool, man, that's cool, It's cool. This one's also
- 2:04:33Speaker 2: from this one. Not also this one is from jose
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: Leira on Instagram. Thank y'all for acknowledging my reposts. I'm
- 2:04:39Speaker 2: about to be a new to the dad community. Come February,
- 2:04:42Speaker 2: shout out, Jose. Every time I have a concern, I
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: come to yall's page and reassure myself that I'm more
- 2:04:47Speaker 2: than capable of being an amazing dad. Please keep doing
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: what y'all are doing because you have little guys like
- 2:04:52Speaker 2: us looking up to y'all.
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: Boys. Much love from Dallas, Texas. Hey, big D, Big D,
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: come on. And that was Jose.
- 2:05:01Speaker 2: That was Jose. Common theme there, common theme all day.
- 2:05:05Speaker 2: Everybody's scared when they go into fatherhood. Yeah, dude, everyone's
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: scared for the next the opportunity that comes and the
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: responsibility that comes with fatherhood, just like anybody taking on
- 2:05:14Speaker 2: a massive new position, a new you know, a new
- 2:05:18Speaker 2: step in their career, a new step in life. Fatherhood
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: being one a new title, new big responsibilities. As you're
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: sure you're not ready for that, you're scared about. No
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: one's prepared, no one's ready.
- 2:05:30Speaker 1: Can you run me through really quick, just what I
- 2:05:33Speaker 1: was like when I brought that up to you at
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: that coffee when you asked me about are me and
- 2:05:38Speaker 1: Jill ready to have kids? How did I answer that question?
- 2:05:40Speaker 1: You were terrified?
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you were like, I don't think like I'll be
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: good enough, like I don't think I'm ready to be
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: a dad, and it scares you.
- 2:05:49Speaker 1: The thought of having kid scares you.
- 2:05:50Speaker 2: And because sum was also telling me you gotta stop
- 2:05:54Speaker 2: posting rue because it's given Jill massive baby fever. You
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: were doing means zero zero favors, and I could tell
- 2:06:04Speaker 2: how nervous you were. But now you know, it's like, dude,
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: I was like the same way. Now you know, looking
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: back on it's like, dude, you're just you're not prepared.
- 2:06:11Speaker 2: You just got to dive in and embrace everything that
- 2:06:13Speaker 2: comes with it and do your best to like whatever
- 2:06:16Speaker 2: it is, read, listen to stuff, study, whether it's our
- 2:06:18Speaker 2: show clips, whatever it is, Like you just put that
- 2:06:22Speaker 2: much work in the fatherhood that you've done with the
- 2:06:24Speaker 2: most important thing in your life, and it'll kind of
- 2:06:27Speaker 2: that'll kind of guide you.
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: It is the ultimate challenge that will continuously be the
- 2:06:32Speaker 1: ultimate gift. Yeah, always because it sucks, but it is
- 2:06:36Speaker 1: it does.
- 2:06:37Speaker 2: That is why you feel so highly about it, and
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: it makes you so happy in some of these moments
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: and parts of like those scenes or moments of perspective,
- 2:06:47Speaker 2: like they're so high because you experience such suck. Yeah,
- 2:06:53Speaker 2: like anything great, anything anything that is great in your
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: life or feels great now, it's nine percent of the
- 2:07:00Speaker 2: time because you're looking back on all the trial and
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: tribulations you had of getting to that moment and now
- 2:07:05Speaker 2: you feel so high and so free on it. Yeah,
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: you know there's work that you've got to continue to do,
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: but it's no different than fatherhood other than you experience
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: them that much farther. That range get that gets that
- 2:07:15Speaker 2: much wider because it's such a high and a love
- 2:07:17Speaker 2: that you've never experienced in your life. But with that
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: feeling comes like ultimate like new lows and challenging thoughts
- 2:07:25Speaker 2: and failures and things that you that suck about it, and.
- 2:07:28Speaker 1: Those might happen in a five minute span from each other.
- 2:07:32Speaker 1: Of me coming home exhausted from work. I want to
- 2:07:36Speaker 1: have the worst attitude when I walk in the door.
- 2:07:39Speaker 1: What do I find?
- 2:07:39Speaker 3: Dude?
- 2:07:40Speaker 1: I hope you mentioned the streaks on the floor right now?
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and what do I find? Scarlett is screaming
- 2:07:46Speaker 1: her head off because it's the witching hour and I'm
- 2:07:48Speaker 1: sitting there and I'm got the worst attitude in the entire.
- 2:07:50Speaker 2: Mom's been texting you on the way home. Hey, when
- 2:07:52Speaker 2: you getting back? When you getting back.
- 2:07:54Speaker 1: When you get back, forgot to pick up down? Yeah,
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: walk in the house, screaming's going on happening, yes, And
- 2:07:59Speaker 1: then and then you finally get the you finally get
- 2:08:02Speaker 1: Scarlet down. You're in bed, and what's the what's the
- 2:08:05Speaker 1: next thing I want to do? I want to get
- 2:08:07Speaker 1: on the Nana app, watch my kids sleep and tell
- 2:08:10Speaker 1: my wife I just want to squeeze her. I love
- 2:08:12Speaker 1: her so much? What what? How did that happen? In
- 2:08:15Speaker 1: ten minutes, we'll sit there and it's like you'll see him,
- 2:08:18Speaker 1: You'll see him on the monitor. It's like, man, aren't
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: they the best?
- 2:08:24Speaker 2: You're like they are, and then you kind of pause
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: for a moment and you're like, you know, unless they're
- 2:08:27Speaker 2: doing X, Y and Z, you like, think of a
- 2:08:28Speaker 2: few moments that they've had recently that she.
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: Just chapped your ass.
- 2:08:31Speaker 2: Yeah, But when they're asleep and they just look, Scarlet
- 2:08:35Speaker 2: look amazing, quite.
- 2:08:36Speaker 1: Literally shit all over us. And five minutes later we're
- 2:08:40Speaker 1: in bed looking on our little Nana cam, going, She's
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: the cutest thing in the world, isn't she? Well, when
- 2:08:47Speaker 1: she doesn't on my hand, yeah, when she ain't doing that,
- 2:08:50Speaker 1: she got her Daddy's gut so she'd be shitting This
- 2:08:54Speaker 1: one comes from B Haynes fifty three What Up fellas
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: huge fan of the show. I've been watching this pod
- 2:09:00Speaker 1: all summer long in preparation for our baby girl coming
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: this October. Hello B Haynes. Last Thursday night we welcomed
- 2:09:09Speaker 1: our firstborn daughter, Lily, to the world. I'm so beyond
- 2:09:13Speaker 1: fired up to get to work being the best at
- 2:09:17Speaker 1: I possibly can. It's now six days with the little one,
- 2:09:20Speaker 1: and so far I've changed about one hundred diapers, scrubbed
- 2:09:23Speaker 1: every bottle in bump part countless simes, and lost many
- 2:09:26Speaker 1: hours of sleep taking care of my girls. Good good,
- 2:09:29Speaker 1: good job. Dad. You're crushing, but every damn second is
- 2:09:33Speaker 1: worth it because I get to be a dad today.
- 2:09:35Speaker 1: The wife. You broke down in tears selling me how
- 2:09:37Speaker 1: amazing and supportive I've been, not just through the first week,
- 2:09:42Speaker 1: but the entire pregnancy. Let's fucking go. Let's fucking go.
- 2:09:46Speaker 1: So I just wanted to give a huge thank you
- 2:09:48Speaker 1: to Sherman Will and the rest of the PT six
- 2:09:51Speaker 1: community for all the tips, tears and dad hacks that
- 2:09:54Speaker 1: got me this huge w We're just getting started. Love
- 2:09:57Speaker 1: you guys. Flex emoji take out the trap. Dude. Hey,
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: that's so sick. Dude, that's yeah, yeah, Yeah, that's a
- 2:10:05Speaker 1: really big win for b Hayes. Dude. You know how
- 2:10:09Speaker 1: many dads are getting that message. I mean that's.
- 2:10:12Speaker 2: Dads that are in the BT six community. Yeah, I
- 2:10:14Speaker 2: mean you know what I mean. Yes, it's like seeing
- 2:10:16Speaker 2: It's like seeing a teammate just flourish. Yeah, because the
- 2:10:21Speaker 2: process has helped him out. Hey, coach just pulled me
- 2:10:23Speaker 2: into the office. I'm starting next week. Yeah, let's fucking
- 2:10:27Speaker 2: yeah you are. That gets me fired up.
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: Matt Savio from Instagram fellas Matt Savio here out of
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: Saint Louis, Missouri, shot at the Big Mo yep. A
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: huge fan of the pod. Although I am not a
- 2:10:40Speaker 1: dad yet, I am a proud uncle too. Sophia, Sianna, Laney, Camille,
- 2:10:45Speaker 1: and George also got another nephew coming in March of
- 2:10:48Speaker 1: twenty six. Anyway, got a potential idea for a segment
- 2:10:51Speaker 1: on the pod if y'all like it, Here's what I'm thinking.
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: Each month, a dad or mom sends in a video
- 2:10:57Speaker 1: as their application for Dad or Mom of the Month.
- 2:11:01Speaker 1: They basically give a valedictorian type speech or reason why
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: they deserve the honor of the graduating class of that month.
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: Kind of thinking it would be for first time parents,
- 2:11:12Speaker 1: while let y'all decide the details. Obviously, there are a
- 2:11:15Speaker 1: lot of ways you could go with it. Maybe each
- 2:11:18Speaker 1: valedictorian receives a patcher or some special merch maybe hosts
- 2:11:21Speaker 1: a Zoom happy hour or something cool for the twelve
- 2:11:23Speaker 1: honorees in a year, or something similar to will I
- 2:11:27Speaker 1: am an idea? Guy? You guys still in the blanks,
- 2:11:30Speaker 1: thank you for the entertainment. GBR, GBR GBR. I love
- 2:11:34Speaker 1: the idea. I like the idea.
- 2:11:36Speaker 2: It's almost like a framework from that too, is the
- 2:11:40Speaker 2: application has to come from the spouse.
- 2:11:43Speaker 1: Ooh, that's mandatory. Yeah, that's mandatory, I think, yeah.
- 2:11:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you mess with that one. That should be
- 2:11:51Speaker 2: absolutely man like. You shouldn't be writing about yourself.
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: You would be disqualified if you wrote in about yours
- 2:11:59Speaker 1: and not to say b Haynes saying like hey, my
- 2:12:01Speaker 1: wife said, you know he's not trying to win anything.
- 2:12:06Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no, no, yeah you can't. You can't be.
- 2:12:10Speaker 1: It's got to be a video. They got to submit
- 2:12:13Speaker 1: a video.
- 2:12:14Speaker 6: We please get it through the email too, because I
- 2:12:16Speaker 6: don't want like a million of videos.
- 2:12:18Speaker 1: We won't do it yet. We got to take the
- 2:12:21Speaker 1: idea into the thing thing I was. Yeah, yeah, that
- 2:12:25Speaker 1: was an idea. Okay, that was an idea.
- 2:12:27Speaker 2: We're in a brainstorm yet, sweetheart.
- 2:12:35Speaker 1: That is this thing. They do it for the dads.
- 2:12:36Speaker 1: It's called Dad of the Month. I love the winning.
- 2:12:38Speaker 2: I know you said some things last week. Would you
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: might make it a video? And for the love, I
- 2:12:45Speaker 2: think the written one you'll get more. Written one you'll
- 2:12:48Speaker 2: get more. But who's to say you don't got a
- 2:12:50Speaker 2: what wife? You gotta get your past with your email
- 2:12:52Speaker 2: really quick. I'm the best walks of her exist.
- 2:12:56Speaker 1: Not to say spouse, not to say PT sixers would
- 2:13:01Speaker 1: do it, but it would also be kind of fun
- 2:13:03Speaker 1: to see video submissions.
- 2:13:06Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll think on it. We thank you for that idea. Yeah,
- 2:13:12Speaker 2: because you can do something fun there, kyriad, this is
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: my last one.
- 2:13:16Speaker 1: Okay, like a long one. Go ahead, keep it under
- 2:13:19Speaker 1: an hour? How long we been going, chef, fuck go ahead?
- 2:13:26Speaker 1: Erica Giles Instagram writes in hello gentlemen, Milk Team six here,
- 2:13:31Speaker 1: I just wanted to share a quick story about my husband,
- 2:13:33Speaker 1: Nick Giles He's a huge fan of your podcast. He's
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: been a part of Papa Team six from the start.
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: He listens every week and he has gotten me hooked too.
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: He's purchased tons of your merch and even bought a
- 2:13:44Speaker 1: shirt he planned to wear after I gave birth to
- 2:13:46Speaker 1: our second son, though he accidentally ordered the wrong size,
- 2:13:50Speaker 1: so now I've claimed it. He's such a hard worker,
- 2:13:53Speaker 1: long hours every day and make sure our boys and
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: I never go without, and your podcast is one of
- 2:13:57Speaker 1: the things he looks forward to the most each week.
- 2:14:00Speaker 1: This week was actually, uh, this week he was actually
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: in an accident, and even while sitting in a hospital
- 2:14:07Speaker 1: bed in the er, he was making sure to keep
- 2:14:09Speaker 1: you all updated. Oh, this is the truck guy. That's crazy.
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: Oh this is Nick. Yeah, this is Nick. That's crazy. Sorry,
- 2:14:19Speaker 1: sitting at a hospital in the er, he was making
- 2:14:21Speaker 1: sure to keep you all updated. The very next day,
- 2:14:24Speaker 1: he was already trying to get back to work while
- 2:14:26Speaker 1: proudly wrapping his new Halloween shirt from you guys. He's
- 2:14:30Speaker 1: the biggest fan and even better dad, and after the
- 2:14:33Speaker 1: this week's, after the this week he's had, I think
- 2:14:37Speaker 1: he deserves a little shout out from his proud wife.
- 2:14:41Speaker 1: I've I've interacted with Nick several times. He is not
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: only a PT Sickoh, he is a Tier one Nick.
- 2:14:49Speaker 1: Nick is a good dude. We gotta shoot him something, Yeah,
- 2:14:53Speaker 1: we need We'll shoot him something.
- 2:14:54Speaker 2: I'm glad he's okay to like even hearing his wife
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: right about him and everything else.
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: He's even a better dad.
- 2:14:59Speaker 2: Like you can only imagine how scared they both were together.
- 2:15:03Speaker 1: Dude, I don't want to go to that place. But
- 2:15:08Speaker 1: we were talking about that earlier today of like, if
- 2:15:10Speaker 1: anything happened to Jill, I'm just like, I don't know
- 2:15:15Speaker 1: what I would do. I don't know what I would do. Yeah,
- 2:15:20Speaker 1: I'm just glad he's he's safe. Yeah, I'm glad. Glad.
- 2:15:24Speaker 1: You have very funny tweets. By the way, he's a
- 2:15:26Speaker 1: good follow for anybody that's in the Tier one PT
- 2:15:29Speaker 1: six community. He's active on there. You'll have to remind
- 2:15:32Speaker 1: me which profile he is. Yeah, I'll tag you. He's
- 2:15:36Speaker 1: in our replies a lot. He has funny replies. Yeah,
- 2:15:38Speaker 1: he's a sick. Oh would you like to take his home? Brother?
- 2:15:43Speaker 1: Do you have a quote topic lesson? I do?
- 2:15:46Speaker 2: It was your homework assignment? Okay, yeah, the values, Yes, yes,
- 2:15:50Speaker 2: the values? What is a value? And again I know
- 2:15:53Speaker 2: we're what are we we doubling up?
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: Here?
- 2:15:54Speaker 2: Are we over to to eighteen? We did as what's
- 2:16:02Speaker 2: a value that you would love? We'll hit it on
- 2:16:04Speaker 2: next week. Let's do next week? Do values next week, We'll.
- 2:16:08Speaker 1: Do We'll go over values next week because again it's
- 2:16:10Speaker 1: a week over two hours right now and we could
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: get more submissions.
- 2:16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so we have the homework here from last week
- 2:16:16Speaker 2: was what is a value you hope to instill in
- 2:16:18Speaker 2: your child for the rest of time as they grow up?
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: What is what is like the most important value? And
- 2:16:24Speaker 2: I know that's hard because there's many values where you
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: want to instill instill in them. But I have a
- 2:16:28Speaker 2: few here that we were going to run and I
- 2:16:30Speaker 2: would like it to kind of have its own, its
- 2:16:33Speaker 2: own moment, because we're gonna have you know, we're at
- 2:16:35Speaker 2: two eighteen.
- 2:16:35Speaker 1: We're at two eighteen? Can I can I very quickly
- 2:16:38Speaker 1: just throw it out to the community. We were not
- 2:16:40Speaker 1: upset with the amount of submissions at all, just a
- 2:16:45Speaker 1: further challenge of submit those values that you would want
- 2:16:48Speaker 1: to pass along to your child in the comments in
- 2:16:52Speaker 1: our DMS because we would love to go over those
- 2:16:54Speaker 1: submissions when we go over this next week. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:16:57Speaker 1: we appreciate y'all's input and we would love more.
- 2:17:01Speaker 2: Yes, yes, all, I pretty much have. Dude, it's not
- 2:17:05Speaker 2: even like a quote topic or lesson surm. The other day,
- 2:17:10Speaker 2: showed me a video that he made because I failed
- 2:17:13Speaker 2: to take out the trash like the last why I
- 2:17:15Speaker 2: said last week, I failed to take out the trash
- 2:17:17Speaker 2: the last couple of times, and he made this funny video.
- 2:17:20Speaker 2: It's you guys will already see. It'll be out on
- 2:17:22Speaker 2: socials by now, but he made a funny video where
- 2:17:26Speaker 2: in part of that video, I'm sitting there with Rue
- 2:17:28Speaker 2: and Ru's going through like the trash can recycling and cardboard,
- 2:17:31Speaker 2: and it kind of just made me super sad, just
- 2:17:34Speaker 2: hearing her little voice because I tell sher, I'm like, dude,
- 2:17:36Speaker 2: she's so young there, and I'm like, oh, I mean
- 2:17:38Speaker 2: she's only three years old, but she's just so little
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: and hearing her voice, yeah, like telling me high five
- 2:17:43Speaker 2: and high five, And.
- 2:17:46Speaker 1: It just had me thinking and kind of sulk, and
- 2:17:48Speaker 1: I listened to the Fray all the way home.
- 2:17:49Speaker 2: I got home, I took some vitamins and then at
- 2:17:53Speaker 2: that point, I'm just in my own head thinking about
- 2:17:55Speaker 2: life and everything else. And I shot Charo a message
- 2:18:00Speaker 2: my good night text because she was in London, and
- 2:18:06Speaker 2: I basically center a text because I was just I
- 2:18:08Speaker 2: was just your boy was in his fields, and I
- 2:18:11Speaker 2: was just like, get in bed, love, Hope you feel
- 2:18:13Speaker 2: better when you wake up in the morning. She said
- 2:18:14Speaker 2: she wasn't feeling very well before she went to bed,
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: but I said, I also hope you're enjoying every moment
- 2:18:18Speaker 2: with Rue, because it's really badass what you're doing, and
- 2:18:21Speaker 2: right now in her life, there's nothing else she'd rather
- 2:18:24Speaker 2: be doing than spending time with us, So enjoy every second.
- 2:18:28Speaker 2: And I feel like I got to that point because
- 2:18:32Speaker 2: Ruth's all about us right now, and our kids they're
- 2:18:34Speaker 2: gonna be about you when they're young. But even seeing
- 2:18:38Speaker 2: that clip of the video to where she's fired up
- 2:18:41Speaker 2: to us, she's telling me about recycling and carbo, this
- 2:18:43Speaker 2: is the cardboard trash can, this is the recycling one,
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: and high five and then what did she say, Now
- 2:18:49Speaker 2: you go dad ass.
- 2:18:50Speaker 1: Or you turned out? Say it? Yeah, dad, dad say it?
- 2:18:53Speaker 2: And it's like that's a moment that now those excitement
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: feelings are different, like she's fired up to show me
- 2:18:59Speaker 2: stuff she draws school or coloring, or it's not like
- 2:19:03Speaker 2: how simple, Hey dad, that's a trash can. How fired
- 2:19:05Speaker 2: up are you? It's like she wants to show you
- 2:19:07Speaker 2: more impressive stuff. You have to impress her with different
- 2:19:10Speaker 2: things and other like hey, you know what a trash
- 2:19:11Speaker 2: can is? In high five? Like I have to hold
- 2:19:14Speaker 2: out my hand to get some high fives at times
- 2:19:16Speaker 2: because they're just growing up and think about us as adults,
- 2:19:20Speaker 2: like I think now, like I was so down the
- 2:19:22Speaker 2: rabbit hole of my feels with the vitamins in my system.
- 2:19:26Speaker 2: Then I'm even thinking about my dad and my parents
- 2:19:29Speaker 2: because the age that we're at now, like what are
- 2:19:32Speaker 2: the interesting things that our parents try and want to
- 2:19:35Speaker 2: connect with us on. It's so hard for them because
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: we are now grown ass adults.
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: And when you're in high school at.
- 2:19:41Speaker 2: The time where every day it's like whenever they turn thirteen, Bro,
- 2:19:44Speaker 2: I'm telling you, when they turn thirteen, it's just a
- 2:19:46Speaker 2: different they're different animals, the hormones and everything else. But
- 2:19:49Speaker 2: the moments to connect with your kids and be having
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: interest or like challenging yourself to be interested in what
- 2:19:54Speaker 2: they're interested in, especially when they're older, it's so fucking hard.
- 2:19:59Speaker 2: I am imagine it's so damn hard because I'm thinking
- 2:20:02Speaker 2: back to what I was when I was growing up,
- 2:20:04Speaker 2: and then even like even as a young man, the
- 2:20:07Speaker 2: interest for my old man would just be like sports.
- 2:20:10Speaker 2: Right if I was going to impress my dad, I
- 2:20:11Speaker 2: was going to be like sports, or if I felt
- 2:20:13Speaker 2: like he was taking interest to me, it'd be more
- 2:20:15Speaker 2: so with sports than anything else. Mom would love school
- 2:20:17Speaker 2: and all that, but you knew dad like it wasn't
- 2:20:19Speaker 2: It felt like the connectivity was through sports. But when
- 2:20:22Speaker 2: they are this young, they are obsessed with everything and
- 2:20:26Speaker 2: all they want is your time.
- 2:20:28Speaker 1: All they want is your time.
- 2:20:30Speaker 2: Like Rue, I know is having the greatest time in
- 2:20:32Speaker 2: the world because she's in London. She feels like a
- 2:20:34Speaker 2: big girl because she's traveling with Mama. She's sleeping in
- 2:20:37Speaker 2: bed with mom. They're getting room service, they're going to
- 2:20:39Speaker 2: the park, They're doing all these things that just fires
- 2:20:42Speaker 2: ru up. And she's probably so happy spending that time
- 2:20:45Speaker 2: with her mom. She was probably so pumped to be
- 2:20:46Speaker 2: getting ice cream and lunch with their dad.
- 2:20:49Speaker 1: When we had our little daddy daughter and everything else
- 2:20:52Speaker 1: because they have your attention, and.
- 2:20:53Speaker 2: All that fires all that fires them up right now
- 2:20:56Speaker 2: is your attention, and so it's just like all I
- 2:20:59Speaker 2: say is just cherish every damn moment because some of
- 2:21:04Speaker 2: those interests and that some of the way that they
- 2:21:06Speaker 2: develop is it's not always going to be mom and
- 2:21:08Speaker 2: Dad are the coolest people in the world and like
- 2:21:10Speaker 2: wanting to help take care of Scotti. They're gonna get
- 2:21:13Speaker 2: to an age at some point where you're studying and
- 2:21:15Speaker 2: battling trying to figure out how to connect with them
- 2:21:17Speaker 2: through their interests because it's not as simple as you're
- 2:21:21Speaker 2: showing me what a trash can of recycling bin and
- 2:21:23Speaker 2: a cardboard bin looks like it more, and you're so
- 2:21:26Speaker 2: fired up that it's like I sit there and look back.
- 2:21:29Speaker 2: I was like, I'm so I'm happy that I'm giving
- 2:21:31Speaker 2: her a high five, but I wish I'd go back
- 2:21:32Speaker 2: to that moment to be even more excited for because
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: I'm never getting that moment back again.
- 2:21:38Speaker 1: So you can imagine when I'm sending that textause I'm.
- 2:21:40Speaker 2: Like sending her this long text for good night, and
- 2:21:43Speaker 2: I'm just like, dude, it's so badass what you're doing.
- 2:21:45Speaker 2: I hope you're enjoying it because Rue is having the
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: greatest time of her life right now. So anybody with
- 2:21:51Speaker 2: young kids, or you're gonna have young kids, just you
- 2:21:53Speaker 2: are their world right now, and just embrace it so
- 2:21:56Speaker 2: much and cherish it because it's not gonna be forever her.
- 2:22:01Speaker 1: That's the whatever, that's the that's the end. That's the ending.
- 2:22:05Speaker 1: Very well, very well said, and all the all the
- 2:22:09Speaker 1: photos coming from London, dude, I've just been smiling with
- 2:22:12Speaker 1: all of it. She is giving big girl energy. She
- 2:22:15Speaker 1: is looking like just a little girl with like her outfits.
- 2:22:19Speaker 1: And when you brought up like the video and I'm
- 2:22:23Speaker 1: watching the video. I'm not even Ruth's parent, and I'm like, oh, Bruce,
- 2:22:27Speaker 1: tiny in this, Oh my gosh. And the only example
- 2:22:31Speaker 1: of that that I have is the nanet that we use.
- 2:22:34Speaker 1: Our little nannycam has kind of like a yearbook kind
- 2:22:40Speaker 1: of memories. Yeah, yeah, play for you. And oh, dude,
- 2:22:44Speaker 1: I've watched this little video of me waking up Scarlet
- 2:22:48Speaker 1: and she's still in her tiny sleepsack and her head
- 2:22:51Speaker 1: it's smaller than my hand, and I'm just like, my god.
- 2:22:54Speaker 2: You were so little, you were so little. It broke
- 2:22:58Speaker 2: my heart have me tearing up to Yeah. So this
- 2:23:02Speaker 2: is the greatest job in the world.
- 2:23:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good one.
- 2:23:06Speaker 2: Our story now is being a father. Yeah, and it's amazing.
- 2:23:10Speaker 2: And I just hope nobody takes it for granted. Yeah.
- 2:23:15Speaker 2: If you feel like you do, man, there's change the mentality.
- 2:23:18Speaker 2: You get to do it literally right now. Yeah, I'm
- 2:23:21Speaker 2: just thinking about Scottie smiling right now. I just want
- 2:23:23Speaker 2: to get home to her and kiss her so much
- 2:23:25Speaker 2: and smother with love. Let Daddy give his paws on
- 2:23:31Speaker 2: you away.
- 2:23:36Speaker 1: That's it. That's it for me.
- 2:23:38Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, perfect, take out the trash. This was
- 2:23:41Speaker 2: for the dad's pet Sikos. We love you, We appreciate you.
- 2:23:46Speaker 2: Go be great, man, Hey, go be great.
- 2:23:48Speaker 1: Shout out Dustin McLoughlin, one of my really close friends
- 2:23:50Speaker 1: just found out they're having a kid shout out. Shout out,
- 2:23:53Speaker 1: shout out, Shout out Papa Team six.
- 2:24:02Speaker 2: This is welcome to our first Halloween children's story that
- 2:24:07Speaker 2: I think you will all enjoy, maybe the adults more
- 2:24:10Speaker 2: than the kids. We kept it clean. This is a
- 2:24:14Speaker 2: story about Hector the Bat urgently trying to find a
- 2:24:19Speaker 2: Halloween costume for the Halloween parade. With his friends, parents involved,
- 2:24:23Speaker 2: We change our voices, we have we We have a
- 2:24:28Speaker 2: lot of fun with this story. I hope you enjoy it.
- 2:24:30Speaker 2: If you're listening, make sure you're following and subscribe to
- 2:24:33Speaker 2: our for the Dad's Channel. Happy Spooktober, Happy Halloween, and
- 2:24:37Speaker 2: enjoy this Halloween bedtime story.
- 2:24:43Speaker 1: Twas the night before Halloween, the forest creature's favorite holiday.
- 2:24:49Speaker 1: The moon glowed bright, and the whole forest was elated
- 2:24:54Speaker 1: with anticipation, except Hector the bat. Hector hung upside down
- 2:25:01Speaker 1: on his branch, clearly upset.
- 2:25:05Speaker 3: Oh no, I've done it again.
- 2:25:08Speaker 7: I've waited for the last second to find a perfect
- 2:25:10Speaker 7: Halloween costume.
- 2:25:12Speaker 3: Why do I do this every year?
- 2:25:15Speaker 1: Milo the Mouse scampered up cheerfully with a pumpkin bucket,
- 2:25:20Speaker 1: dressed up as his Halloween costume, a cupcake. Hector?
- 2:25:26Speaker 3: Hector? Is that you?
- 2:25:28Speaker 1: Hey? Milo? Hector replied Hector, what's wrong, buddy?
- 2:25:34Speaker 7: Oh? Nothing, I just made the most huge mistake in
- 2:25:37Speaker 7: my entire bat life and forgot to pick out a
- 2:25:40Speaker 7: Halloween costume for the forest Halloween Brain tomorrow.
- 2:25:45Speaker 6: Oh Hector, don't you worry. We'll figure it out together.
- 2:25:50Speaker 1: We can go on a quest to find your costume.
- 2:25:53Speaker 6: And you know what they say, adventure makes the best ideas.
- 2:25:59Speaker 1: Sammy the world leapt from a branch, his tail flicking dramatically.
- 2:26:05Speaker 1: Sammy also had his costume on and was dressed up
- 2:26:08Speaker 1: as Superman, his favorite superhero. Hello Franks, I couldn't help
- 2:26:15Speaker 1: it over here that you're going on an adventure? Have
- 2:26:19Speaker 1: you heard of the secret costume shop in the misty Meadow?
- 2:26:23Speaker 1: Both Hector and Milo looked blankly back at Sammy, shaking
- 2:26:28Speaker 1: their heads.
- 2:26:29Speaker 3: No, don't worry, I know a shortcut to get us there.
- 2:26:35Speaker 1: As if on cue inbounded Benny the Puppy, stumbling over
- 2:26:40Speaker 1: his own paws with his tail wagging. Benny also had
- 2:26:45Speaker 1: already gotten his costume and was dressed up as John McClain,
- 2:26:51Speaker 1: specifically from Diehard Too.
- 2:26:54Speaker 2: Don't forget about little old Benny the Puppy. I love
- 2:26:57Speaker 2: to help, and we can't find one. We'll make you
- 2:27:00Speaker 2: a costume, Go big Red.
- 2:27:03Speaker 1: The friends laughed together, and Hector felt a little better
- 2:27:08Speaker 1: as they started following Sammy towards the shop. Sammy first
- 2:27:14Speaker 1: led the group towards the pumpkin patch, filled with beautiful
- 2:27:19Speaker 1: orange pumpkins and glowing with rows of orange lanterns.
- 2:27:25Speaker 6: Look at all these pumpkins, Hector, you could always go
- 2:27:28Speaker 6: as a pumpkin bat.
- 2:27:30Speaker 3: A pumpkin bat. That sounds silly.
- 2:27:34Speaker 6: Well, it's okay if your Halloween costume is silly, Hector.
- 2:27:39Speaker 1: Benny wagged his tail in agreement.
- 2:27:42Speaker 2: That's right, Sammy. They can be silly, or spooky or
- 2:27:46Speaker 2: even awesome. For example, if I had all the money
- 2:27:49Speaker 2: in the world, I would be wearing a movie gray
- 2:27:51Speaker 2: replica of William Dafoe's green goblin suit from the two
- 2:27:55Speaker 2: thousand and two Colt classic The Spider Man Movie.
- 2:28:00Speaker 1: Everyone turned slowly to Benny the Puppy and stared confused.
- 2:28:07Speaker 1: Bart Oh, okay, well, I just don't feel like a
- 2:28:12Speaker 1: pumpkin is the costume I want.
- 2:28:14Speaker 3: The secret costume store will have what I'm looking for, right, Sammy.
- 2:28:19Speaker 1: Of course, all we have to do is cross the
- 2:28:23Speaker 1: rickety bridge and then head through the misty meadow, and
- 2:28:26Speaker 1: we're there. Milo pulled out his binoculars and looked in
- 2:28:31Speaker 1: the distance.
- 2:28:33Speaker 6: Hey, guys, I see a bridge up ahead that looks
- 2:28:37Speaker 6: extra spooky.
- 2:28:38Speaker 1: We're on the right path. I don't know.
- 2:28:41Speaker 2: That bridge looks like it smells like goodwitted, fam.
- 2:28:46Speaker 1: What's good with it. Fam Benny snickered, Oh, Benny, what,
- 2:28:53Speaker 1: I didn't even say nothing. The gang kept moving, heading
- 2:28:58Speaker 1: towards the rickety bridge. And as the group made its
- 2:29:03Speaker 1: way towards the rickety bridge, Milo thought about who would
- 2:29:08Speaker 1: have made the bridge, and he got an idea.
- 2:29:11Speaker 6: Hector, why don't you go as a lumberjack bat That
- 2:29:15Speaker 6: would be festive?
- 2:29:17Speaker 3: No, thanks, my loan, I don't really think a lumberjack
- 2:29:20Speaker 3: baptist for me.
- 2:29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, my low, what are you thinking?
- 2:29:24Speaker 2: Approximately fifteen billion trees are cutting down each year by lumberjacks,
- 2:29:29Speaker 2: effectively removing forty one million acres of trees annually climate
- 2:29:33Speaker 2: change deforestation. Not to mention the fact that Hector looks
- 2:29:37Speaker 2: terrible in a flannel. It makes his bath hims look
- 2:29:40Speaker 2: whiter than they already are. Matter of fact, he looked
- 2:29:43Speaker 2: great as a corn husker.
- 2:29:46Speaker 1: Everyone turned slowly to Benny the Puppy and stared confused. Wolf,
- 2:29:55Speaker 1: don't worry, guys, the store has everything we could want.
- 2:29:59Speaker 1: I know, we'll find a costume there for everyone. The
- 2:30:03Speaker 1: friends headed deep down into a meadow, where they discovered
- 2:30:07Speaker 1: a large oak tree with long winding limbs. Sammy the
- 2:30:13Speaker 1: squirrel pointed towards the tree, his eyes wide.
- 2:30:19Speaker 3: That's it. That's the engines to the store, right there.
- 2:30:23Speaker 1: All the friends looked up at the spooky tree together hopeful.
- 2:30:29Speaker 3: There's a sign at the door. What does it say?
- 2:30:33Speaker 1: Milo climbed on top of Hector's head to get a
- 2:30:37Speaker 1: better look at the tree.
- 2:30:39Speaker 6: Oh no, Hector, the store is closed. The sign reads
- 2:30:46Speaker 6: wife in Labor store closed to further notice.
- 2:30:50Speaker 1: Let's go Pt.
- 2:30:52Speaker 7: Six.
- 2:30:54Speaker 1: The group all stared at the sign. Defeated Hector.
- 2:31:00Speaker 3: I'm so sorry.
- 2:31:03Speaker 1: In all my years of coming here, I've never seen
- 2:31:07Speaker 1: it closed.
- 2:31:08Speaker 3: It's not your fault, Sammy. It just thinks that now
- 2:31:12Speaker 3: I don't have a costume for the parade.
- 2:31:14Speaker 2: Honestly, guys, we could probably file a complaint for misinformation
- 2:31:19Speaker 2: with the Better Business Bureau. Although there's no legal penalty
- 2:31:23Speaker 2: for closing without proper notice, we could most likely sue
- 2:31:26Speaker 2: due to breach of contract or fraud in deception.
- 2:31:30Speaker 1: Neither we'll hold up in court.
- 2:31:32Speaker 2: Neither will hold up, but the likelihood of the store
- 2:31:34Speaker 2: owner doing everything he can to avoid this going to
- 2:31:37Speaker 2: trial may just be enough for us to win and
- 2:31:40Speaker 2: petty claims court.
- 2:31:43Speaker 1: Everyone turned slowly to Benny the puppy and stared confused
- 2:31:50Speaker 1: Bart the game turned around, defeated and sad that Hector
- 2:31:57Speaker 1: wouldn't have a costume for the parade. The next day,
- 2:32:02Speaker 1: as Hector woke up, he realized that all of his
- 2:32:05Speaker 1: friends would be having fun at the parade today without him.
- 2:32:10Speaker 3: I knew I should have just been a pumpkin bat.
- 2:32:14Speaker 1: The door to Hector's bedroom creaked open, and his mother
- 2:32:19Speaker 1: walked in and sat next to him on the bed. Hector,
- 2:32:22Speaker 1: what are you doing? I thought you would be out
- 2:32:25Speaker 1: of bed already for the parade. You love Halloween.
- 2:32:29Speaker 3: No, Mom, not this here. I didn't find a costume
- 2:32:32Speaker 3: in time for the parade, so.
- 2:32:34Speaker 1: I'm not going Mama bat let out a little bat,
- 2:32:39Speaker 1: laugh you silly little kiro Tara.
- 2:32:43Speaker 6: I bought you a Halloween costume from the Misty Meadow
- 2:32:45Speaker 6: store weeks ago.
- 2:32:47Speaker 1: Did your father and I not tell you about it?
- 2:32:49Speaker 1: It's in your closet. Hector shot out of bed and
- 2:32:54Speaker 1: flew to the closet with excitement. As he opened the closet,
- 2:32:59Speaker 1: there hung a movie grade replica of William Dafoe's green
- 2:33:04Speaker 1: Goblin suit from the two thousand and two cult classic
- 2:33:08Speaker 1: Spider Man movie.
- 2:33:10Speaker 3: I have the best parents ever. Thank you, Mama, bet
- 2:33:14Speaker 3: you saved Halloween.
- 2:33:17Speaker 1: Hector threw on his costume and flew out the window,
- 2:33:22Speaker 1: hoping to make it down to the parade before it started.
- 2:33:26Speaker 1: As Hector got to the Forest town Square, he saw
- 2:33:30Speaker 1: his friends down below, all standing on the side just
- 2:33:34Speaker 1: in time.
- 2:33:35Speaker 3: I wish Hector was here. He loves the parade.
- 2:33:39Speaker 1: I know, Sammy.
- 2:33:40Speaker 3: I can't believe the.
- 2:33:41Speaker 7: Store was closed.
- 2:33:43Speaker 3: What bad luck.
- 2:33:45Speaker 2: He could have been a pumpkin bat or a lumberjack
- 2:33:47Speaker 2: bat and still come. But I totally understand those honors
- 2:33:50Speaker 2: car chasing vibes.
- 2:33:53Speaker 1: As Benny was finishing his sentence, Hector landed next to
- 2:33:58Speaker 1: his friends and his new green Goblin costume.
- 2:34:02Speaker 3: Hey guys, Hector, you made it. Yay and just in
- 2:34:06Speaker 3: time for the parade.
- 2:34:08Speaker 1: Hey what? The guys had the best Halloween ever in
- 2:34:13Speaker 1: their costumes, watching the parade as friends should.
