- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're getting right back to
- 0:06Speaker 1: the Ted Waite testimony that he gave to Congress. Misters
- 0:11Speaker 1: Squaw Danny, you lived in California at that point, right
- 0:15Speaker 1: answer yeah, question by redacted. I've got some detailed questions
- 0:19Speaker 1: about his incarceration. I'll just run through them. Were you
- 0:22Speaker 1: aware of the Florida Science Foundation? Answer? No, question Were
- 0:27Speaker 1: you aware? And if so, what was your knowledge of
- 0:29Speaker 1: mister Epstein's work release agreement? Answer? I was told by
- 0:33Speaker 1: miss Maxwell that he was allowed to go to his
- 0:35Speaker 1: office during the day and then report it back to
- 0:37Speaker 1: a facility where he spent the night. Did Miss Maxwell
- 0:41Speaker 1: ever characterize that, like, you know, Jeffrey can't believe he
- 0:45Speaker 1: got this amazing deal, anything of that nature. Answer. I
- 0:48Speaker 1: wouldn't say it was that way. It was more like, yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 1: he had a good deal. I wouldn't say, you know,
- 0:53Speaker 1: it was more like he did it. Then he got
- 0:55Speaker 1: an amazing deal, like he had arranged it. I think
- 0:58Speaker 1: that's the way she put it, than he got an
- 1:01Speaker 1: amazing deal from someone else. Question Jeffrey successfully arranged this
- 1:05Speaker 1: great deal for himself? Answer it was a deal. I
- 1:08Speaker 1: wouldn't say it was a great deal. It was a deal. Yeah,
- 1:11Speaker 1: it seemed a little unusual to me. But again, I
- 1:13Speaker 1: wish I would have done more research on it at
- 1:15Speaker 1: the time, But I didn't question. Was there any tension
- 1:20Speaker 1: Let's just say, at the time for now, between if
- 1:23Speaker 1: miss Maxwell was presenting Epstein's charges and his situation as
- 1:27Speaker 1: sort of downplaying it it's not that serious, but also
- 1:30Speaker 1: being pretty happy Jeffrey being pretty happy with the day,
- 1:33Speaker 1: with the way the deal worked out. Was there any
- 1:36Speaker 1: tension in those Did you ever say to yourself, wait
- 1:38Speaker 1: a second, you know, is this a serious thing or
- 1:42Speaker 1: is it not? Answer? Well, I clearly didn't want her
- 1:45Speaker 1: affiliating with him, and I didn't want to affiliate with him,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and I had no affiliation with him myself, so I
- 1:51Speaker 1: think I probably would have pushed more in that direction.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Question to your knowledge, did miss Maxwell ever visit Epstein
- 1:58Speaker 1: while he was incarcerated or on work release? Answer not,
- 2:01Speaker 1: to my knowledge? Question did you ever visit Epstein in
- 2:05Speaker 1: his office while he was on work release? Answer no. Question.
- 2:08Speaker 1: We have another member who joined, if they could just
- 2:11Speaker 1: identify themselves. Congresswoman Nancy Mace South Carolina. Question, did miss
- 2:18Speaker 1: Maxwell ever mention? Virginia Roberts answer not that I can recall. Question,
- 2:22Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell. We've touched on the sort of separation of
- 2:25Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell from mister Epstein over the course of your
- 2:28Speaker 1: relationship with her. We've also touched on your breakup with
- 2:32Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell. Miss Maxwell told the DOJ last year that
- 2:36Speaker 1: the reason for your breakup was that, in two thousand
- 2:38Speaker 1: and nine, a lawyer named Scott Rothstein tried to blackmail
- 2:41Speaker 1: you by asking for ten million in exchange from dropping
- 2:44Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell from a series of civil suits. From your recollection,
- 2:48Speaker 1: did that happen? Answer? No, question is there a version
- 2:52Speaker 1: of that that happened to the best of your recollection?
- 2:55Speaker 1: In other words, did you have any interaction with mister Rothstein? Answer?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Mister Rothstein presented a financial proposal to a friend of
- 3:03Speaker 1: mine at the time named aj Descala. He presented that
- 3:07Speaker 1: proposal to an associate of mine, somebody who worked for me.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I saw the details of that proposal and thought it
- 3:12Speaker 1: was a total scam and just didn't think it was
- 3:15Speaker 1: very a worthwhile investment. Question what was the proposal in
- 3:19Speaker 1: summary that you recall? Question? In summary, as I recall,
- 3:22Speaker 1: it had to do with something to do with sexual
- 3:24Speaker 1: arrassment lawsuits, not sexual assault or sex trafficking or sexual arrassment.
- 3:29Speaker 1: And they were doing something with lawsuits to pay off
- 3:31Speaker 1: people early and were going to more money later, and
- 3:36Speaker 1: they wanted money to do it. In the beginning, it
- 3:38Speaker 1: just seemed like a terrible idea to me. So, question
- 3:42Speaker 1: and was the approach to your associate? Was it related
- 3:45Speaker 1: to you in any way, in other words, as Rostein
- 3:48Speaker 1: asking middleman to ask you or was it just between
- 3:50Speaker 1: Rothstein and the associate? Answer? Well, yeah, they were asking
- 3:55Speaker 1: me for money because I have money. Neither one of
- 3:57Speaker 1: them had money, and they both are in jail now. Oh.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Question did the proposal have any connection to Miss Maxwell? Answer?
- 4:05Speaker 1: I don't recall it being specific to Miss Maxwell as well.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Question so, do you have any recollection of mister Ralstein
- 4:11Speaker 1: communicating anything at all specifically related to Miss Maxwell, either
- 4:15Speaker 1: to you or indirectly to your associate? Answer? Yeah, I
- 4:19Speaker 1: do believe her name came up, but I don't think
- 4:21Speaker 1: it was in the context of any of those sexual lawsuits.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It was never tied to that to Epstein's crimes or
- 4:27Speaker 1: a lawsuit involving Epstein's crimes. I believe Epstein was a
- 4:30Speaker 1: pom Beach lawyer, so I thought it was more to
- 4:34Speaker 1: do with Palm Beach. But I don't believe Epstein's name
- 4:37Speaker 1: ever came up. Question, But with respect to miss Maxwell,
- 4:41Speaker 1: what's your recollection of the context in which her name
- 4:43Speaker 1: came in? I don't recall specifically. Frankly, I reviewed that
- 4:47Speaker 1: document in preparation for this that I mentioned that her
- 4:50Speaker 1: name came up, But I don't remember in what context
- 4:53Speaker 1: it came up. But it wasn't in relation to the lawsuits,
- 4:56Speaker 1: at least as I recall. So I don't remember how
- 4:59Speaker 1: it came up. Question, just trying to envision it for us.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Would there be some other context in which a name
- 5:05Speaker 1: would come up from mister Rothstein other than in relation
- 5:09Speaker 1: to the financial proposal that he was making. Answer? He
- 5:12Speaker 1: might have known her, I don't know. He was a
- 5:15Speaker 1: fairly prominent figure. I think for a time in Palm Beach.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Question it may have been something as simple as hey,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I saw Lane at the supermarket last week. Answer, I
- 5:25Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know. Question, But sitting here today,
- 5:29Speaker 1: is it right that you have no specific recollection of
- 5:31Speaker 1: miss Maxwell's name having any connection to mister Rolstein's financial proposal.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Answer am I supposed to answer that? Yes? Or no? Question?
- 5:39Speaker 1: Do you cut some off? Answer? I do not recall
- 5:43Speaker 1: her name having anything to do with specific financial proposals
- 5:46Speaker 1: that they gave me. Question thank you, and it's right
- 5:50Speaker 1: that you rejected the proposal. Answer yes, question, to the
- 5:55Speaker 1: best of your recollection, did the proposal have any connection
- 5:58Speaker 1: at all to your breakup with Miss Maxwell? Answer no. Question.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Do you happen to know whether Rothstein ever ended up
- 6:05Speaker 1: filing whatever suits he said he was going to file?
- 6:07Speaker 1: Answer I don't know. Question. Our understanding is that you
- 6:11Speaker 1: made a series of payments to Miss Maxwell over the years,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and we would like to have a better understanding of
- 6:16Speaker 1: those payments. So I'm going to introduce minority exhibit A. Question.
- 6:22Speaker 1: The only entry that has any relevance to you is
- 6:24Speaker 1: maybe two thirds of the way down. So this is
- 6:27Speaker 1: an account statement. It looks like from the upper left
- 6:30Speaker 1: hand corner for one sixteen East sixty fifth Street, LLC,
- 6:34Speaker 1: which was Maxwell's home address at the time. The monthly
- 6:37Speaker 1: statement is for May two thousand and eight, and part
- 6:40Speaker 1: way down the page, the statement appears to show a
- 6:43Speaker 1: thirty thousand dollars transfer from you to this account. There
- 6:47Speaker 1: are similar thirty thousand dollars payments on a monthly basis
- 6:50Speaker 1: through at least April of twenty ten, so we estimate
- 6:54Speaker 1: it might be around seven hundred and twenty thousand dollars
- 6:56Speaker 1: in total. Just to start, do you recall what these
- 7:00Speaker 1: payments were for? Answer? These were monthly payments I made
- 7:03Speaker 1: for what I felt was my share of her and
- 7:05Speaker 1: to help with her expenses of her staff and house.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I had maintained an office in the residence at East
- 7:11Speaker 1: sixty fifth Street. I had closed there, I spent time there,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and I was just providing financial support because I was
- 7:17Speaker 1: using it, so I felt it was the right thing
- 7:18Speaker 1: to do. Question how did that idea first come about?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Did you spontaneously suggest it to her or was it
- 7:25Speaker 1: her idea? Answer? I don't recall specifically how it came about.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Question and was the support meant to be specifically linked
- 7:32Speaker 1: to expenses related to the residence? Answer? Yeah, mostly staff.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Question how much staff did she have? Answer? There were
- 7:41Speaker 1: two full time staff, a driver and a housekeeper. I
- 7:44Speaker 1: think at one point they were going to leave or
- 7:46Speaker 1: something I can't remember, but that was mostly what it was,
- 7:49Speaker 1: and I used the driver myself and I wanted to contribute.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Question was it your understanding that Miss Maxwell probably was
- 7:57Speaker 1: not able to cover the totality of those expenses on
- 8:00Speaker 1: her own. Answer? I was never privy to Miss Maxwell's
- 8:03Speaker 1: financial affairs, but I think she appreciated the assistance. Question
- 8:08Speaker 1: it sounds like you have maybe some memory that the
- 8:12Speaker 1: two staffers were threatening to leave at some point. Is
- 8:14Speaker 1: that right? Answer? Yeah, I don't recall those specifics around it, though.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Question do you recall some connection between them threatening to
- 8:22Speaker 1: leave and the beginning of this arrangement? Answer? I vaguely
- 8:25Speaker 1: recall that. Again, I might be mixing things up, but
- 8:28Speaker 1: I think there was something around the staff. I wanted
- 8:30Speaker 1: to pay my share, and I think that continued until
- 8:33Speaker 1: that thirty thousand, continued until we broke up. Question do
- 8:38Speaker 1: you recall why these payments were made to the LLC
- 8:40Speaker 1: and not just to her personally? Answer? I assumed. I'm speculating,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but I assume this is where she wanted them to go,
- 8:47Speaker 1: and I assume this went into property and paid expenses
- 8:49Speaker 1: for the house. It's not an atypical for somebody who
- 8:52Speaker 1: owns a property to have a title in an LLC
- 8:56Speaker 1: and run the expenses through that. Question our understanding is
- 9:00Speaker 1: this LLC was controlled by Darren Endyke, who was mister
- 9:03Speaker 1: Epstein's lawyer. Do you recall being aware of that at
- 9:05Speaker 1: the time? Answer no. Question do you recall knowing who
- 9:09Speaker 1: mister Endyke was or having any interactions with him? Answer?
- 9:13Speaker 1: I don't recall having interactions with them. Answer I remember
- 9:18Speaker 1: hearing the name Darren quite frequently as someone miss Maxwell
- 9:21Speaker 1: interfaced with. Question what would be the context of why
- 9:25Speaker 1: miss Maxwell would be interfacing with Darren as she described it?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Answer again, I don't recall, mostly just business transactions. Question
- 9:34Speaker 1: would that have been at the period of time when
- 9:36Speaker 1: miss Maxwell was really substantially working for Epstein and not
- 9:40Speaker 1: after she started to tape her off? Because this is
- 9:44Speaker 1: two thousand and eight. I think we had said that
- 9:47Speaker 1: at this point Maxwell wasn't really working for Epstein? Is
- 9:50Speaker 1: that right? Answer? I don't believe so, but I think
- 9:54Speaker 1: that she still had a relationship and use maybe some
- 9:56Speaker 1: of the legal services of his office. Can you elaborate
- 10:00Speaker 1: on that a little bit. What was your understanding to
- 10:03Speaker 1: which Miss Maxwell continued to have interactions or business with
- 10:07Speaker 1: mister Epstein's staff after she stopped working for him, Miss Callen,
- 10:12Speaker 1: So I think several times Today's testified as understanding was
- 10:15Speaker 1: that she was minimizing her work from mister Abstein overtime.
- 10:18Speaker 1: But he doesn't know the specifics question, no problem, But
- 10:22Speaker 1: the specific idea that miss Maxwell may have been utilizing,
- 10:25Speaker 1: let's say, mister Epstein's legal services. I think that's a
- 10:29Speaker 1: little bit beyond what I think I at least previously understood.
- 10:32Speaker 1: So could you just elaborate on what you remember about that? Answer? Again,
- 10:36Speaker 1: I wasn't privy to the specific details of her working
- 10:39Speaker 1: relationship with mister Ebstein or any of his entities. All
- 10:43Speaker 1: I do know I remember hearing the name Darren and
- 10:46Speaker 1: her talking to him on frequent occasions. I think throughout
- 10:49Speaker 1: the relationship. I don't know if they were like friends
- 10:52Speaker 1: or you know, if they work together and she was
- 10:54Speaker 1: asking his advice. There was a lot of interaction. You
- 10:57Speaker 1: want the details of that interaction, I don't really know. Oh. Question,
- 11:02Speaker 1: and do you recall that interaction sort of staying constant
- 11:05Speaker 1: even as miss maxwell other works started to wind down
- 11:08Speaker 1: for mister Epstein. Answer. I can't recall the frequency of
- 11:11Speaker 1: how it was, but I recall it being somewhat consistent.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Question do you recall any other folks on mister Epstein's
- 11:18Speaker 1: staff whose name you sort of heard with maybe a
- 11:21Speaker 1: similar degree of frequency, whether that's the accountant as opposed
- 11:25Speaker 1: to the lawyer, or anybody else from the Epstein team
- 11:28Speaker 1: that miss Maxwell seemed to interact with a fair amount.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Answer the person I remember she was a pilot and
- 11:34Speaker 1: she interacted I think quite a bit with his pilot.
- 11:37Speaker 1: But I just assumed that was like pilots talking to pilots,
- 11:41Speaker 1: that type of thing. Question. Miss Maxwell wasn't a pilot though, right? Answer?
- 11:45Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell was a pilot, a helicopter pilot. Answer, I
- 11:49Speaker 1: did not know that, okay, and I understand the natural
- 11:51Speaker 1: assumption of hey, pilot the pilot. But what, if anything,
- 11:55Speaker 1: is your recollection of either the extent to which miss
- 11:58Speaker 1: Maxwell communicated with mister Epstein's pilot, and if so, what
- 12:02Speaker 1: they communicated about. Answer? I don't know. I wasn't privy
- 12:06Speaker 1: to those conversations. Question mister Epstein had a pretty substantially
- 12:11Speaker 1: sized staff. Was there anybody else from his world that
- 12:14Speaker 1: you could recall Miss Maxwell having a consistent communication with
- 12:18Speaker 1: Answer nobody that I can think of. Question And as
- 12:22Speaker 1: far as you know. Did these thirty thousand dollars payments
- 12:26Speaker 1: have any connection to mister Epstein or mister Epstein's legal
- 12:29Speaker 1: trouble around the time? Answer, no question. I think that's
- 12:33Speaker 1: a fine time to transition to maybe some members that
- 12:36Speaker 1: may have some questions that they would like to ask.
- 12:39Speaker 1: All right, folks, we're going to wrap up right here,
- 12:41Speaker 1: and in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
- 12:43Speaker 1: gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
- 12:46Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 12:49Speaker 1: description box.
