  Speaker 1: It's still.
• 0:15
  Speaker 2: Welcome.
• 0:16
Speaker 3: Everybody, Welcome to this week's edition is Still Real Does
• 0:21
Speaker 3: Show Episode number seven seventy two for November twenty eight,
• 0:25
Speaker 3: twenty twenty four. This is your aw full gear recap
• 0:28
Speaker 3: and we Survivor Series, Wargames Weekly and Predictions Edition Up
• 0:33
Speaker 3: ass our team you.
• 0:36
Speaker 2: I am one alf of the show. I am Jeff Pack,
• 0:39
Speaker 2: joined every single week by my co host, the one
• 0:42
Speaker 2: only doctor Trey Franklin. Doctor Trey. Happy Thanksgiving, my friend
• 0:48
  Speaker 2: Happy Thanksgiving.
• 0:50
Speaker 4: This is got what are twelve Thanksgiving together? So we're
• 0:55
Speaker 4: at this point. We are family. So I I'm always
• 0:58
Speaker 4: as always thankful for you than for everybody. But I'm
• 1:01
Speaker 4: excited because this is my favorite, one of my favorite,
• 1:04
Speaker 4: not favorite, but top two, top three holidays because just
• 1:08
Speaker 4: the gluttonous nature of humanity now kind of caters to this.
• 1:14
Speaker 4: And I've already checked with the family to make sure
• 1:16
Speaker 4: that it's not just turkey. We got to, like, I
• 1:19
Speaker 4: have to have ham on Thanksgiving, So grandma and mother
• 1:23
Speaker 4: in law are making sure that there is a ham
• 1:26
Speaker 4: in the oven for me while everybody else engulfs the turkey.
• 1:30
Speaker 2: So it's funny, and we've probably had this discussion every
• 1:33
Speaker 2: year we talk about this show and talk about the
• 1:35
Speaker 2: holiday on this show. I feel like it switches at
• 1:40
Speaker 2: some point, maybe like in my early twenties for me,
• 1:44
Speaker 2: and I am still to this day a big Christmas guy.
• 1:47
Speaker 2: Literally behind me as I record the show. We put
• 1:50
Speaker 2: our Christmas tree up this week. But at some point,
• 1:54
Speaker 2: as you get older, you switch from Christmas to Thanksgiving,
• 1:58
Speaker 2: or at least I did. Were you the same way
• 2:01
Speaker 2: because Thanksgiving? Like I'm super hyped for Thanksgiving right now
• 2:05
Speaker 2: because I love Thursday. I love the food. We typically
• 2:09
Speaker 2: play a football game, not sure if we're going to
• 2:11
Speaker 2: be able to do that yet because of the weather
• 2:13
Speaker 2: forecast it's going to be hitting us in the area.
• 2:16
Speaker 2: And then I just watch football all day. My packers
• 2:19
Speaker 2: are playing on Sunday or Thursday night, which I'm excited about.
• 2:23
Speaker 2: But this at some point, Doctor Trey, unless you always
• 2:27
Speaker 2: were a Thanksgiving guy, I feel like for most people,
• 2:30
Speaker 2: like the older you get, this becomes the holiday.
• 2:34
Speaker 4: For most of us, it shifts back and forth, especially when.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: You have kids. Because good point.
• 2:41
Speaker 4: Like when I was younger, when I was you know,
• 2:43
Speaker 4: a kid, and even to my early teens, I love Christmas.
• 2:46
Speaker 4: And then you know, once you get a certain age,
• 2:48
Speaker 4: your parents have no idea what to get you anymore.
• 2:52
Speaker 4: It kind of loses that luster a little bit, so
• 2:55
Speaker 4: you kind of drift over to Thanksgiving because as a teenager,
• 2:58
Speaker 4: dear God, I can just eat a ton of food
• 3:00
Speaker 4: and not really gain any weight from it. And it
• 3:02
Speaker 4: kind of stayed that way until the kids came along,
• 3:04
Speaker 4: and then you kind of get that joy of Christmas
• 3:07
Speaker 4: back with the kids. But like right now, like it's
• 3:11
Speaker 4: funny as you bring that up, Like my nephew looked
• 3:16
Speaker 4: at his grandma yesterday and goes, Grandma, I don't like
• 3:19
Speaker 4: Thanksgiving because it's all about adults eating and talking and
• 3:23
Speaker 4: that's it. And I was like, no, that's literally what
• 3:25
Speaker 4: Thanksgiving is. Just hang out with some people that you
• 3:28
Speaker 4: that you moderately to actually like tell stories, eat a
• 3:33
Speaker 4: bunch of food, and hopefully pass out at home and
• 3:37
Speaker 4: not at somebody else's house, which actually does harken back
• 3:41
Speaker 4: to your teenage years.
• 3:42
Speaker 2: Yes, very very true. This is the holiday that has
• 3:45
Speaker 2: it's like you have a day for the holiday itself
• 3:48
Speaker 2: and then you have a day to recover and just
• 3:52
Speaker 2: it's an immediate four day weekend. Every other holiday unless
• 3:56
Speaker 2: it falls like the day before a weekend. On a weekend, you,
• 4:01
Speaker 2: I think Christmas is a Wednesday this year, So Christmas
• 4:04
Speaker 2: is on a Wednesday, then I think, I think Thursday.
• 4:09
  Speaker 2: I mean, I'm working, it's it's a slow day. But
• 4:13
Speaker 2: it's like you only get one day in the middle
• 4:15
Speaker 2: of the week. Like it's always that the super Bowl debate.
• 4:20
Speaker 2: They've always said where on super Bowl Sunday should be
• 4:23
Speaker 2: a national holiday and the day after the super Bowl
• 4:26
Speaker 2: should be a day off for most people. So I
• 4:30
Speaker 2: guess it's like you got the main event and then
• 4:33
  Speaker 2: you got a day to recover. It's I don't think
• 4:36
Speaker 2: that there is a better holiday, and I agree with you.
• 4:39
Speaker 2: It probably will change for me when like my son
• 4:43
Speaker 2: gets older, But right now, I'm I'm still I'm still
• 4:46
  Speaker 2: all about Thanksgiving.
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 4:48
Speaker 4: My issue is with the business I'm in and being
• 4:51
  Speaker 4: involved in retail.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: I don't get the Friday off because of.
• 4:54
Speaker 4: Black Friday boom I have I have folks Now, Luckily,
• 5:00
Speaker 4: you don't have to be in store when the store
• 5:01
Speaker 4: is open, because look, nobody's gonna want to stop and
• 5:05
Speaker 4: talk to us about gutters first thing in the morning.
• 5:08
Speaker 4: We got to wait till that ten o'clock eleven o'clock.
• 5:10
Speaker 4: We got wait for the people that have already hit
• 5:12
Speaker 4: like three or four stores and they're just like, oh, yeah,
• 5:14
  Speaker 4: we gotta get.
• 5:15
Speaker 1: Some stuff to fix some stuff at the house.
• 5:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, they got the Furbie the Cabbage Patch kid in
• 5:18
Speaker 2: their hand and they come to you.
• 5:20
Speaker 4: Yeah, they've already done that stuff. So for us, it's
• 5:23
Speaker 4: kind of like I still gotta be out there. Luckily
• 5:24
Speaker 4: right now, like you and I were talking about here,
• 5:26
Speaker 4: I'm having to rebuild the division, so I only have
• 5:29
Speaker 4: a couple of people that are gonna be on the
• 5:31
Speaker 4: field on that day. So I just have to be
• 5:34
Speaker 4: the good manager and make sure they know I am
• 5:36
Speaker 4: out there too and not sitting at home relaxing.
• 5:39
Speaker 1: But you know, for for most folks, like you know.
• 5:43
Speaker 4: My uh, the guy who took over for me in
• 5:45
Speaker 4: my old district, he's taken a four day I mean,
• 5:48
Speaker 4: we built that team up, he's taking the whole four
• 5:50
Speaker 4: days off. He's taken off from Wednesday until Sunday, well one, two, three, four,
• 5:55
Speaker 4: five days off, So he's going away for the entire
• 5:57
Speaker 4: time and going out of town. I'm like, yeah, yeah,
• 6:00
Speaker 4: if the other thing is I don't really have anywhere
• 6:02
Speaker 4: else to go. I could go to North Carolina, but
• 6:04
Speaker 4: really for me is like this is.
• 6:05
Speaker 1: Kind of my home.
• 6:07
Speaker 4: But look, I gotta get back to work and get
• 6:09
Speaker 4: on the grind and kind of rebuild this thing. But
• 6:11
Speaker 4: for those folks to get to take the four days,
• 6:13
Speaker 4: the five days, the six days, whatever it is. Man,
• 6:16
Speaker 4: God bless you, and good luck dealing with airports and travel.
• 6:19
Speaker 2: Right now, so you mentioned the ham before you've already
• 6:23
Speaker 2: asked your mother in law to make a ham. Is
• 6:26
Speaker 2: there any other like food traditions or just overall traditions
• 6:30
Speaker 2: on Thanksgiving that that you it's a must have to
• 6:34
Speaker 2: either eat or do on Thanksgiving each year.
• 6:39
Speaker 1: My three favorite dishes and it's ham.
• 6:43
Speaker 4: I need stuffing, slash dressing, whatever you want to call it,
• 6:46
Speaker 4: depending on what part of the country you're in. And
• 6:48
Speaker 4: I love devil diggs so and if I have to
• 6:51
Speaker 4: make the devil eggs out, that's fine because I'll make
• 6:54
Speaker 4: a bunch for everybody who's coming to the thing, and
• 6:55
Speaker 4: then I'll make another plate just to keep it home.
• 6:57
Speaker 1: But those are my three goes go tos.
• 6:59
Speaker 4: It's funny that back when I was traveling and I
• 7:02
Speaker 4: would go to the Northeast, my friend Jordan. I would
• 7:05
Speaker 4: sometimes be stuck in Massachusetts Rhode Island on Thanksgiving and
• 7:10
Speaker 4: he would always invite me over to his family's house
• 7:13
Speaker 4: and his mother made this like sausage onion stuffing and
• 7:20
Speaker 4: it was the best thing I was having, and I
• 7:23
Speaker 4: used to this day. I'll text him like, I know
• 7:27
Speaker 4: your mom's still alive, So I'm not going to ask
• 7:30
Speaker 4: for the family recipe yet, but just just reminder I
• 7:32
Speaker 4: need that recipe at some point to make it down here.
• 7:36
Speaker 4: I don't know if it's their family is Ukrainian, I believe,
• 7:39
Speaker 4: so I don't know if it's something that came over
• 7:41
Speaker 4: from from that part of the world. But oh my god,
• 7:45
Speaker 4: like I don't know if it maybe just the way
• 7:46
  Speaker 4: she made it, don't. I mean, it's just crazy. It's
• 7:51
Speaker 4: just how crazy, how good it was. That was the
• 7:54
  Speaker 4: first time.
• 7:54
Speaker 1: Okay, I'm sorry, it's crazy good. I'm mean.
• 7:57
Speaker 4: By the way, this is another great thing about having
• 7:58
Speaker 4: a five year old. If you say certain words, they
• 8:01
Speaker 4: will tell you not to say those certain words anymore.
• 8:03
Speaker 2: Fair enough, Hey, listen, somebody, it's the holdest accountable right yeah.
• 8:07
Speaker 2: So yeah, so yep, Thanksgiving this Thursday, we're obviously releasing
• 8:13
Speaker 2: the show a little bit early. We're hoping it will
• 8:16
Speaker 2: be dropped by Wednesday. At this point, we're recording earlier
• 8:19
Speaker 2: this week to settle up and joy some time with
• 8:22
Speaker 2: friends and family and get away for a little bit
• 8:25
Speaker 2: recap what's been going on the world professional rest in
• 8:27
Speaker 2: the last couple of days. Look forward to this Saturday,
• 8:29
Speaker 2: Survivor Series war Games. There's some other stuff that we'll
• 8:32
Speaker 2: talk about here as well as part of our regular
• 8:34
Speaker 2: Thanksgiving special that we do each and every year. This
• 8:36
Speaker 2: is the fourteenth year we've been doing Thanksgiving Special twelve
• 8:40
Speaker 2: with Doctor Trey. Let's get into it. Doctor Trey AW
• 8:43
Speaker 2: full gear recap review this Saturday from this past Saturday
• 8:46
Speaker 2: from the Potential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The first
• 8:50
Speaker 2: pre show match was and A j defeating Diana Parrazzo.
• 8:53
Speaker 2: We did not predict this one. Just a couple of
• 8:56
Speaker 2: notes from this one. And A Jay's really came into
• 8:58
Speaker 2: our own as an entering worker, and Dianna's AW run
• 9:01
Speaker 2: has been surprisingly disappointing. Your thoughts on this one, Doctor.
• 9:05
Speaker 4: Trey sounds just about like every other person they brought
• 9:09
Speaker 4: it from outside the company that their run has been
• 9:11
  Speaker 4: slightly disappointing. I like, I like Anna j I like
• 9:15
Speaker 4: how far she's come, But for one, she should have
• 9:19
Speaker 4: never won. This match just matches in Deanna Pross's backyard,
• 9:22
Speaker 4: So let Deanna win by some screwjob. Don't like you're
• 9:25
Speaker 4: having the person the new babyface from Georgia come in
• 9:28
Speaker 4: and when I get it, she just lost to Mariah
• 9:31
Speaker 4: May so you're trying to build her back up. But
• 9:33
Speaker 4: Deanna's the better wrestler right now, so it's okay to
• 9:37
Speaker 4: let the better wrestler win the match in her backyard
• 9:41
Speaker 4: on a pay per view when she has another person
• 9:44
Speaker 4: at ringside backing Euroupe, which, by the way, that spot
• 9:48
Speaker 4: where Ti of speared aa Jay and the referee saw
• 9:53
Speaker 4: it and they're like they had to cover up by
• 9:54
Speaker 4: saying it's the referees discretion to disqualify people. That that
• 9:59
Speaker 4: was such a out. Uh but yeah, just it was.
• 10:02
Speaker 4: It was an okay match, but it just it doesn't
• 10:05
Speaker 4: make sense in the grand scheme of things.
• 10:07
Speaker 2: There's gonna be I feel like a lot of that
• 10:10
Speaker 2: when it comes to this edition of aw Full Gear.
• 10:14
Speaker 2: Next match year was Buddy Matthews defeating Dante Martin Commander
• 10:17
Speaker 2: and the Beast Mortals in a fatal four way match.
• 10:19
Speaker 2: We did not predict this one. This is a fast paced,
• 10:22
Speaker 2: smooth and fun four way match that made a case
• 10:24
Speaker 2: of being on the main card in my opinion, Doctor
• 10:26
Speaker 2: Trey and I kind of if you look back at it,
• 10:31
Speaker 2: this entire card, I feel like this was one of
• 10:33
Speaker 2: at least the top five matches from full gear.
• 10:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, this was just I mean, this was It was
• 10:40
Speaker 1: just a fun match.
• 10:41
Speaker 4: And sometimes these little four ways when there's no real rivalry,
• 10:45
Speaker 4: there's no real stories, Like all right, I just got
• 10:47
Speaker 4: to watch this for the action. It had all the
• 10:49
Speaker 4: action you needed, and you had, you know, contrasting styles there.
• 10:53
Speaker 4: You had two high flyers. You had to you know,
• 10:55
Speaker 4: Buddy Murphy's just like I think they said it a
• 10:58
Speaker 4: few times on the commentary team of the best pure
• 11:00
Speaker 4: athletes in aw and then Mortos in himself is an anomaly.
• 11:06
Speaker 4: By the way, when you ddt a guy, I don't
• 11:08
Speaker 4: think we heard this. He took the DDT on his horns.
• 11:11
Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever heard that phrase mentioned before.
• 11:14
Speaker 4: But yeah, it was a really really fun match and
• 11:17
Speaker 4: probably should have been on the main show. But at
• 11:20
Speaker 4: least I'll tell them this much. At least, the matches
• 11:23
Speaker 4: on the main show all had a little bit a
• 11:25
Speaker 4: story leading into it for the most part, this one didn't,
• 11:27
Speaker 4: so I kind of get why it was on the
• 11:29
  Speaker 4: pre show.
• 11:31
Speaker 2: Next match here is Big boom Aj defe thing q
• 11:33
Speaker 2: T Marshall. We both had Big boom Aj game and
• 11:36
Speaker 2: victory here. I never thought I would see the day
• 11:38
Speaker 2: where AW would have this type of match, let alone
• 11:41
Speaker 2: on a pre show of a pay per view, as
• 11:43
Speaker 2: it doesn't really fit the vision I think most restling
• 11:45
Speaker 2: fans have Slash had for the AW product, where it's
• 11:49
Speaker 2: a TikTok star getting ample time in the ring. Granted
• 11:53
Speaker 2: he had professional wrestling background to get a little publicity
• 11:57
Speaker 2: for all Lee wrestling. With that said, the crowd seemed
• 12:00
Speaker 2: into it and it was a fun presentation. I truly
• 12:03
Speaker 2: cannot hate on it. And then days later come to
• 12:06
Speaker 2: find out Big boom Aj broke his foot earlier in
• 12:10
Speaker 2: the day. I don't know what he was doing, maybe
• 12:12
Speaker 2: running the ropes, and then still did the match. He
• 12:14
Speaker 2: didn't want to dissid discipline anybody. All the reports back
• 12:18
Speaker 2: on these guys have been very, very positive. I do
• 12:22
Speaker 2: know them from being a fan of Barstool Sports. I
• 12:25
Speaker 2: know doctor Trey was not accustomed to the Costco Guy universe,
• 12:31
Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it, Doctor Trey, your thoughts
• 12:34
Speaker 2: on this one is big Boom AJ against the victory.
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: I didn't hate it.
• 12:39
Speaker 4: I like, to me, I was sitting there going I
• 12:41
Speaker 4: had no idea who these people were.
• 12:44
  Speaker 1: I didn't know what a rizzler was. I didn't know
• 12:46
  Speaker 1: what a big Justice was. I didn't know what a
• 12:48
Speaker 1: big Boom AJ was.
• 12:50
Speaker 4: QT Marshall had the worst spray tand I have seen
• 12:53
Speaker 4: since Donald Trump comes out of Florida, like nothing about it,
• 12:57
Speaker 4: like appearance wise, I'm like, this is going to be
• 12:59
Speaker 4: got off. And then the crowd when AJ came out,
• 13:03
Speaker 4: that crowd pop was huge and I was just like
• 13:07
Speaker 4: kind of blown away, And I'm like, if the crowd's
• 13:10
Speaker 4: popping like this for these guys and you're trying to
• 13:14
Speaker 4: build an audience for AW, why's on the pre show.
• 13:17
Speaker 1: It should be on the main show.
• 13:19
Speaker 4: If these guys have millions and millions of followers on TikTok,
• 13:23
Speaker 4: put them on the main show, get people to buy
• 13:26
Speaker 4: the pay per view. And then the match itself was good.
• 13:31
Speaker 4: It was some good storytelling. These guys have a history.
• 13:35
Speaker 4: I could have done with less cuts to the Rizzler
• 13:38
Speaker 4: doing the same face over and over again.
• 13:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, what what did you think of the wristler face?
• 13:42
Speaker 2: Is it something you forget you can do?
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: I mean I can touch my beard. I mean that's
• 13:46
Speaker 1: what I do that all the time.
• 13:48
Speaker 4: Like, but I just I'm just not a cute That kid,
• 13:51
Speaker 4: which I will say, is the Wrizzler actually the son
• 13:54
Speaker 4: of I know Justice is the son of AJ is
• 13:57
  Speaker 4: the Rizzler.
• 13:58
Speaker 1: The son of AJ is the Rizal midget. I don't
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: know the thing.
• 14:04
Speaker 2: He is not the son of AJ, nor is he?
• 14:06
Speaker 1: Uh they stole a kid.
• 14:09
  Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know the full background. I
• 14:10
Speaker 2: believe he's like seven years old, like legitimately seven years old.
• 14:14
Speaker 4: Like, how do you find a kid in Costco who's
• 14:16
Speaker 4: seven to put on your TikTok to?
• 14:17
Speaker 1: I mean that's usually how you end up in jail
• 14:20
  Speaker 1: most likely.
• 14:20
Speaker 2: I don't know the background. Have everybody, how everybody met?
• 14:23
Speaker 2: I would assume that in like two years, when Big Justice,
• 14:27
Speaker 2: who is probably like in his early teens, develops a
• 14:30
Speaker 2: drug habit and ends up in like celebrity rehab on
• 14:33
Speaker 2: VH one, maybe we hear about all this because they
• 14:37
Speaker 2: seem to be very level headed and grounded. But it
• 14:41
Speaker 2: just like anything, like at some point something happens, right
• 14:45
  Speaker 2: like you and.
• 14:46
Speaker 1: I talked about it.
• 14:47
Speaker 4: It's the Andy Milanakas syndrome coming into play here.
• 14:51
Speaker 2: I guess who was older than he looked on television.
• 14:55
Speaker 2: He had he had a medical condition.
• 14:57
Speaker 4: But correct me if I'm wrong, if if, if you would,
• 15:00
  Speaker 4: I are running a promotion and we get a I'm
• 15:03
Speaker 4: air quoting here, you can't.
• 15:04
Speaker 1: See it a celebrity.
• 15:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that has millions of followers and the crowd
• 15:10
Speaker 4: gets a reaction like that because they're in the guys's backyard.
• 15:14
Speaker 1: Why are you not putting that on the main show?
• 15:16
Speaker 2: I understand. I don't think they want to. I mean typically,
• 15:21
Speaker 2: I would have thought wrestling fans would have shot on
• 15:23
Speaker 2: this typically. And then they had taped Rampage after Dynamite
• 15:27
Speaker 2: last week in Albany and the videos I saw that
• 15:31
Speaker 2: they did that way in on Rampage they got booed
• 15:34
Speaker 2: when they came out, and in New Jersey it was
• 15:39
Speaker 2: the complete opposite. I mean, they got a heroes welcome,
• 15:42
Speaker 2: they got some of the biggest pops of the night,
• 15:45
Speaker 2: and it shocked me. I would have thought the aw
• 15:47
Speaker 2: audience would have crapped all over this.
• 15:50
  Speaker 4: I literally I think I was kind of I was
• 15:52
Speaker 4: kind of keeping track, like, once I heard that pop
• 15:55
  Speaker 4: for those guys.
• 15:56
Speaker 2: You thought Steve Austin was coming out, Well, I.
• 15:58
Speaker 1: Was like, let me just see the rest of the show.
• 16:00
Speaker 2: Is that an lod pop for Big boom Age.
• 16:03
Speaker 4: I was kind of like, I just want to see
• 16:04
Speaker 4: if anybody else got a louder pop than that. And
• 16:07
Speaker 4: I think they had the second or third Lattice pop
• 16:10
Speaker 4: on their entrance, and then in the way I think
• 16:14
Speaker 4: maybe Garcia's popp might it jumped up over theirs when
• 16:16
Speaker 4: Garcia won later on, but just off initial entrance, I
• 16:20
Speaker 4: was like, Okay, these guys are are already kind of
• 16:22
Speaker 4: over with the crowd.
• 16:23
Speaker 1: So it was just I didn't hate the match. I mean,
• 16:26
Speaker 1: it's nice when you get a guy. Yeah.
• 16:28
Speaker 4: Does he look like every single overweight indie guy I've
• 16:32
  Speaker 4: met out there?
• 16:33
  Speaker 1: Yeah?
• 16:34
Speaker 2: Oh, this is a mid to late two thousand's Italian
• 16:38
Speaker 2: guido from New Jersey being like put into a wrestling
• 16:42
Speaker 2: ring like he And again, all things considered, from everything
• 16:47
Speaker 2: I'm reading and everything that i'm hearing, and you know
• 16:49
Speaker 2: how the wrestling world is. These guys were very humble,
• 16:52
Speaker 2: They were very nice, cordial, and everybody liked them. And
• 16:56
Speaker 2: I think it does come off the screen and that
• 16:58
Speaker 2: it is an infectious personality. They seem genuine.
• 17:02
Speaker 4: That's one of the things that you and I talk about,
• 17:04
Speaker 4: we've been talking about for fourteen years, is that when
• 17:07
Speaker 4: guys are having fun, we feel it and kind of response.
• 17:12
Speaker 4: And those guys were having fun. I mean, that was
• 17:15
Speaker 4: Aja's dream right there. I mean, obviously being an independent
• 17:18
Speaker 4: wrestler back in the early two thousands, never getting the
• 17:22
  Speaker 4: big break.
• 17:22
Speaker 2: Dude, he did the Brett Hart walk down slapping everybody's hands.
• 17:28
Speaker 2: An ex caliber was like, this is quite the introduction.
• 17:32
Speaker 1: Here he went behind the announced table.
• 17:35
Speaker 2: He was soaking it off. You could see it in
• 17:37
  Speaker 2: his eyes legitimately.
• 17:39
Speaker 4: Like he was appreciative for the environment he was in,
• 17:43
Speaker 4: like he knew if he never gets another job, this.
• 17:47
  Speaker 1: Is his thing.
• 17:49
Speaker 4: And by the way, that song does get kind of catchy.
• 17:51
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, back this after a while, like I hated
• 17:53
Speaker 4: it when you play for me last week, And then
• 17:56
Speaker 4: by the five minute mark of their entrance, I was like, Okay,
• 18:00
  Speaker 4: too bad.
• 18:00
Speaker 1: It's kind of catchy. At least it's a good wrestling
• 18:02
  Speaker 1: theme as well.
• 18:03
Speaker 2: Oh it's crazy. My hope is is that you after
• 18:08
Speaker 2: the show, you sit young Sammy Franklin down and you
• 18:12
Speaker 2: introduce him to the Costco metaverse.
• 18:15
  Speaker 4: I actually think I might because he's a big There's
• 18:19
Speaker 4: a lot of other shows out there on between YouTube
• 18:21
Speaker 4: and stuff like that he'll watch that have way worse
• 18:25
Speaker 4: theme songs and more annoying people than that, So I
• 18:27
Speaker 4: will definitely introduce them to this.
• 18:29
Speaker 2: I can't. We have spent more time talking about this
• 18:32
Speaker 2: match than I would ever think, but it's it was
• 18:34
Speaker 2: a very noteworthy item, and yeah, check the shit out
• 18:37
Speaker 2: of me. Main car here, Doctor Trey, let's get into
• 18:40
Speaker 2: a private party defeat the outrunners Kings of the Black
• 18:43
Speaker 2: Throne and the Acclaim in a four way tag team
• 18:45
Speaker 2: match to retain the aw World Tag Team Championship. We
• 18:48
Speaker 2: both had private party in this one. My notes from
• 18:49
Speaker 2: this I thought it was a sloppy match. I had
• 18:52
Speaker 2: questionable spots in it, like the Acclaim pinning one another
• 18:55
Speaker 2: and commentary not leading up to the fact that they
• 18:57
Speaker 2: were both the legal men prior to that. I don't
• 18:59
Speaker 2: remember anybody on commentary saying that Bowen's and Caster are
• 19:03
Speaker 2: illegal right now. By the way, for those wrestling historians
• 19:07
Speaker 2: out there, that is an old spot from the New
• 19:09
Speaker 2: Age Outlaws back in the day, like on an old
• 19:11
Speaker 2: episode of Raw, like ninety seven ninety eight, And it
• 19:13
Speaker 2: would have been nice if it was mentioned like, oh,
• 19:15
Speaker 2: this is a playbook out of Billy Gunn or out
• 19:18
Speaker 2: of the page out of Billy Gunn's playbook, but they
• 19:20
Speaker 2: didn't even do that either. It was not a match
• 19:23
Speaker 2: that accomplished spotlighting this new era of tag team wrestling
• 19:26
Speaker 2: aw and that was disappointing to see. The biggest takeaway
• 19:30
Speaker 2: was the issues between the acclaimed in this match. Max
• 19:32
Speaker 2: Caster is a guy that is going to be a
• 19:35
Speaker 2: very good natural heel, and it certainly seems like he's
• 19:39
Speaker 2: laying into that right now, and I thought that was
• 19:40
Speaker 2: the biggest story from the entire match. Your thoughts on
• 19:43
Speaker 2: this one, Doctor Trey, Yeah.
• 19:45
Speaker 4: I figured out by watching this show that outside of
• 19:48
Speaker 4: the Outrunners, if you have a shitty mustache, that means
• 19:50
Speaker 4: you're a heel, because remember Roderick had one, and then
• 19:54
Speaker 4: for this match he shaved his off later on, so
• 19:57
  Speaker 4: didn't he didn't have it?
• 19:57
  Speaker 1: Later on.
• 20:00
Speaker 4: Sometimes it's like, why are the tag belts not on
• 20:02
Speaker 4: the Kings of the Black Throne, Like they're super everybody.
• 20:05
Speaker 4: The fans love Brody King, they love Malachi Black.
• 20:10
  Speaker 1: Look.
• 20:10
Speaker 4: I like Private Party. They are deserving. They've been there
• 20:12
Speaker 4: since day one. They deserve it. But the fact that
• 20:16
Speaker 4: Kings of the Black Throat have not had the tag
• 20:17
Speaker 4: belts yet it baffles me. And it's always weird to
• 20:20
Speaker 4: me at the AW that a team gets hot and
• 20:23
Speaker 4: then they don't make the move for the tag belts,
• 20:26
Speaker 4: and then when the team cools off, that's when they
• 20:28
Speaker 4: give them the tag belts.
• 20:29
Speaker 2: We'll look at the Outrunners right now.
• 20:31
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying, Like the Outrunner is the
• 20:32
Speaker 4: most over tag team in AAW. They're not getting the belts.
• 20:36
Speaker 4: Private Party that which was super over five years ago,
• 20:40
Speaker 4: four years ago and then cooled off, and then it
• 20:42
Speaker 4: took this last little storyline with Moxley and the Bucks
• 20:45
Speaker 4: to get him back up there. You know, it's like
• 20:47
Speaker 4: they they should pull the trigger on Private Party four
• 20:50
  Speaker 4: years ago.
• 20:51
  Speaker 1: It's just they they're.
• 20:51
Speaker 4: They're timing on, you know, putting guys over is weird,
• 20:55
Speaker 4: and then the acclaimed it is weird when you have
• 20:58
Speaker 4: a tag team like Private Party, which is kind of
• 21:01
Speaker 4: the Street Profits, then you have the Acclaimed, which is
• 21:04
Speaker 4: kind of the New Day, and both those tag teams
• 21:06
Speaker 4: are having problems at the same time.
• 21:07
Speaker 1: It's just kind of weird that.
• 21:09
Speaker 4: They'll say, oh ww copies AW and AW copies WWE,
• 21:12
Speaker 4: and then you see it play out on your TV.
• 21:14
Speaker 1: It is kind of funny to actually watch it in
• 21:16
  Speaker 1: real life.
• 21:18
Speaker 2: Next Mett year is MJF defeating roder Strong both at
• 21:20
Speaker 2: MGF and this one. I can't seem to put my
• 21:23
Speaker 2: finger on the direction of this MJF Adam Cole, roder Strong,
• 21:26
Speaker 2: Kyle o' riley's stuff yet and if I like it
• 21:29
Speaker 2: or if I'm confused by it. The fans seem to
• 21:32
Speaker 2: be more into MGF wrestling again rather than supporting roder Strong,
• 21:35
Speaker 2: which makes sense because why should I all of a
• 21:38
Speaker 2: sudden be supporting the Undisputed Kingdom after what they initially
• 21:41
Speaker 2: did to MGF at the Closer World's End last year.
• 21:44
Speaker 2: It was nice to see MGF back in the ring
• 21:46
Speaker 2: after Strong twenty twenty twenty three, and I wonder if
• 21:50
Speaker 2: he'll be back as a regular contributor on AW television
• 21:53
Speaker 2: each week. That's sure your thoughts on this one.
• 21:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, I hated the booking eating in this matchup because
• 22:01
Speaker 4: it was two months ago. You know, the unspeaker Kingdom
• 22:05
Speaker 4: was trying to take out Taz, I mean trying to
• 22:06
Speaker 4: take out Hook and they had that rivalry.
• 22:09
Speaker 2: And then they hugged him, remember.
• 22:11
Speaker 1: And then it was like a handshake and hug it.
• 22:12
Speaker 4: And I remember on the show going I hate that
• 22:14
Speaker 4: stuff because that now because you show the respect, now
• 22:17
Speaker 4: we have to like you like I don't get it.
• 22:20
Speaker 4: And then I don't know. I love MGF being back
• 22:23
Speaker 4: in the ring. I thought the promo he put out,
• 22:26
Speaker 4: I think it was it was a dynamite on rampay
• 22:28
Speaker 4: or on collision with the Roddy's mom. Anyway, he's in
• 22:32
Speaker 4: the parking lot sitting on the hood of a of
• 22:34
Speaker 4: a transamin from a trailer. I camera what it was.
• 22:36
Speaker 4: I thought that was not one of his better promos.
• 22:41
Speaker 4: So I really don't know if I like this because
• 22:44
Speaker 4: we're trying to get to Adam calling MJF again, but
• 22:48
Speaker 4: it just feels so disjointed right now and kind of
• 22:51
Speaker 4: out of place. I'm just I'm happy to see all
• 22:54
Speaker 4: of these guys in the ring because they're all my favorites.
• 22:56
Speaker 1: But right now it just kind of feels like I
• 22:59
  Speaker 1: have a puzzle.
• 23:00
Speaker 4: I'm looking at and none of the piece is fit.
• 23:02
Speaker 1: To make the picture to come into site.
• 23:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what to make of it yet.
• 23:07
Speaker 2: It's it's all very, very strange. The MGF booking in
• 23:10
Speaker 2: twenty twenty four has been confusing in all honesty. Next
• 23:16
Speaker 2: match here is Mercedes Monet defeating Chris Statlander to retain
• 23:18
Speaker 2: the AWTBS Championship. We both had Mercedes Monee in this one.
• 23:23
Speaker 2: I thought this was a great match, Doctor Trey. Some
• 23:25
Speaker 2: of the near falls were a bit much, but it
• 23:27
Speaker 2: got the crowd involved and helped the match reach its
• 23:29
Speaker 2: climax to reach the end there. I think Mercedes being
• 23:33
Speaker 2: the AWTBS Champion Champion has been a detriment to the
• 23:36
Speaker 2: aw Women's World Championship, and I think this could have
• 23:39
Speaker 2: been a good spot to drop the title to the
• 23:41
Speaker 2: Statlander some Mercedes and get involved in the world Tider
• 23:43
Speaker 2: picture at some point. I really really enjoyed this match,
• 23:46
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey. I know you're a Mercedes not the biggest
• 23:48
Speaker 2: Mercedes fan in the world, and I trashed her on
• 23:50
Speaker 2: last week's show, but you got to give credit where
• 23:53
Speaker 2: credit is due, and Monette and stat Lander brought it
• 23:55
  Speaker 2: on Saturday night.
• 23:57
Speaker 4: You don't hear me say this very often, but I
• 24:01
Speaker 4: love this match. This was a great match and they
• 24:05
Speaker 4: told stories, they played into injuries they like. Not only
• 24:09
Speaker 4: were the workers on point, but commentary was really good
• 24:12
Speaker 4: in this match too, that some of the near falls
• 24:14
Speaker 4: were great. It was also and maybe listen, I'm an
• 24:19
Speaker 4: old guy. Some people knocking for this. It was a
• 24:21
Speaker 4: WWE tempo match. They'd hit big moves, they sold it.
• 24:26
Speaker 4: It gave it time to digest before they went to
• 24:29
Speaker 4: the next thing like it was.
• 24:30
Speaker 1: The pacing was really good.
• 24:32
Speaker 4: So for somebody who has criticized the entire Mercedes Monet
• 24:37
Speaker 4: run in aw and I've been saying since she got
• 24:39
Speaker 4: the title, like this, it makes the Women's world title
• 24:42
Speaker 4: feel inferior because everybody she's fighting is a bigger star
• 24:46
Speaker 4: than what's in the world title picture. Like, I don't know,
• 24:51
Speaker 4: and we will probably cover I don't know half the
• 24:53
Speaker 4: people that are challenging Mariah May, but I know everybody
• 24:56
Speaker 4: that's challenging Mercedes Mone So it does kind of feel
• 24:59
Speaker 4: like it's convoluting the tie the women's picture, but that aside,
• 25:03
Speaker 4: this was a fantastic match, So I give those girls
• 25:06
Speaker 4: a ton of credits for pulling together something that maybe
• 25:10
  Speaker 4: didn't have a great storyline and didn't have a lot
• 25:12
Speaker 4: of great bill to it as far as the technicalities
• 25:15
Speaker 4: and stuff, but they pulled it off at this match.
• 25:18
Speaker 2: Next match is j White defeating Hagman Adam Page. We
• 25:20
Speaker 2: both had Adam Paige and this one the finish was
• 25:23
Speaker 2: really good. After a match that I felt dragged down
• 25:25
Speaker 2: a little bit, I really enjoyed their Wrestl Dream matches
• 25:27
Speaker 2: was my match of the night last month. This seemed
• 25:29
Speaker 2: to focus on Hangman Page really dominating Jay White and
• 25:32
Speaker 2: focusing on White's injured ankle, only to be caught by
• 25:35
Speaker 2: the Blade Runner for the one two three. The loss
• 25:37
Speaker 2: makes sense for Hangman's character since he's been off his
• 25:40
Speaker 2: hinges for most twenty twenty four, and this helps him
• 25:43
Speaker 2: continue to spiral. Moving along in aw Dot to tray
• 25:48
Speaker 2: your thoughts on this one, as Jy got the victory.
• 25:50
Speaker 4: Yeah, I like the match, not as much as Wressel Dream,
• 25:52
Speaker 4: but I liked it. I love that they both sold
• 25:54
Speaker 4: leg leg injuries, which you don't very see very often.
• 25:58
Speaker 4: Is like it's two one legged man in an ass
• 26:00
Speaker 4: kicking contest. So it's the but the finish that boot
• 26:04
Speaker 4: caught it into the blade Runner was really cleverly done.
• 26:07
Speaker 4: I liked it because, you know, with the with the
• 26:09
Speaker 4: knee injury, he can't really go for the buck shot,
• 26:11
Speaker 4: so he's having to used dead eye and it you know,
• 26:14
Speaker 4: three dead eyes can't put away Jay White, but one
• 26:17
Speaker 4: blade Runner can put away Hangman Page, So I didn't.
• 26:20
Speaker 4: You know, it wasn't as good as Wrestle Dream, but
• 26:21
Speaker 4: it was still a pretty solid match. I didn't think
• 26:23
Speaker 4: it drugged too much because of they were once again
• 26:26
Speaker 4: selling injury. They were actually selling in this match, which
• 26:29
Speaker 4: I'll criticize a match later on for not doing it.
• 26:32
Speaker 4: But overall I liked it. I just didn't like the
• 26:35
Speaker 4: postmatch stuff. I know, Hangman's unhinged, but are you are
• 26:40
Speaker 4: you by hitting Jay White momentarily and then Chris ra
• 26:43
Speaker 4: Daniel's breaking it up and then hitting Christopher Daniels. Are
• 26:45
Speaker 4: we selling this for match seven in their series or
• 26:49
Speaker 4: they're going their separate ways?
• 26:50
  Speaker 1: I was.
• 26:51
Speaker 4: I was kind of confused by the postmatch stuff, but
• 26:54
Speaker 4: overall like the match itself I thought was was pretty good,
• 26:57
Speaker 4: but not as good as wrestled Dream.
• 26:59
Speaker 2: And then of course we got all this stuff that
• 27:00
Speaker 2: closed out the show in regards to hanging man out
• 27:03
Speaker 2: a page and j White, which we will get too
• 27:05
Speaker 2: later on here. Next match is Kyle Fletcher defeating will Ospray.
• 27:10
Speaker 2: We both had will Ospray in this one. The result
• 27:13
Speaker 2: was surprising, the match was great. The sky is officially
• 27:16
Speaker 2: the limit for Kyle Fletcher after a huge win over
• 27:18
Speaker 2: will Ospray on pay per view. Clearly AW sees a
• 27:21
Speaker 2: lot of promise in Fletcher, and rightfully so. This felt
• 27:24
Speaker 2: like a case where Osprey wanted to be the guy
• 27:26
Speaker 2: to help elevate Fletcher to the next level. I think
• 27:29
Speaker 2: AW should really hype up that Fletcher is the next
• 27:31
Speaker 2: guy in the lineage of Don Kallis managing wrestlers from
• 27:34
Speaker 2: Kenny Omega to will Ospray and now Kyle Fletcher. On
• 27:37
Speaker 2: the Will Osprey side of things, I'm disappointing this result
• 27:40
Speaker 2: as I want to see Osprey vie for the AW
• 27:42
Speaker 2: World Championship, but that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon,
• 27:46
Speaker 2: at least in the short term. The only thing I
• 27:48
Speaker 2: didn't like was the jumping pile driver onto steel step
• 27:51
Speaker 2: spot because that should have ended the match with Osprey
• 27:55
Speaker 2: being carried out rather than continuing to wrestle. Either don't
• 27:58
Speaker 2: do that spot during the match, and wait until after
• 28:01
Speaker 2: the match is over to really capitalize the things and
• 28:03
Speaker 2: execute that spot and have Osprey get taken out via ambulance,
• 28:07
Speaker 2: or don't do that spot at all, because it made
• 28:09
Speaker 2: no sense to me, douch Trey. Osprey should not have
• 28:12
Speaker 2: been walking after the tombstone pile driver jumping tombstone pile
• 28:18
Speaker 2: driver onto the steel steps on the outside. Your thoughts
• 28:21
Speaker 2: on this one is Kyle Fletcher defeats Will Ospray.
• 28:24
Speaker 1: So I liked this match if it was a video
• 28:27
  Speaker 1: game good.
• 28:29
Speaker 4: There was just too much stuff and I don't know
• 28:33
Speaker 4: none of because you got me like everybody's ready to
• 28:35
Speaker 4: talk about the tombstone spot on the stairs. Ospray hit
• 28:38
Speaker 4: a tombstone on the floor to Kyle Fletcher, and Kyle
• 28:43
Speaker 4: Fletcher is not selling any kind of neck injury the
• 28:47
Speaker 4: entire match after that, So I hated that because that's
• 28:51
Speaker 4: just what restling is supposed to be. I didn't mind
• 28:56
Speaker 4: the jumping tombstone onto the steps.
• 28:58
Speaker 1: If you go for the fit right after it.
• 29:01
Speaker 4: The fact that the finish came four or five minutes
• 29:04
Speaker 4: after that spot didn't make sense. I'm also a little
• 29:08
Speaker 4: confused about Kyle Fletcher getting a clean, decisive victory over
• 29:12
Speaker 4: will Ospray, Like there was no chack henery, there was
• 29:15
Speaker 4: no tricks, there was no Don Challis involvement, there's no screwdriver,
• 29:19
Speaker 4: there's no Don Kallis family, nothing like that. It's Kyle
• 29:22
Speaker 4: Fletcher beating Will Ospray straight up.
• 29:25
Speaker 1: So what do you do with Ospray now?
• 29:27
Speaker 4: Like you have to book Kyle Fletcher like he's the
• 29:29
Speaker 4: second coming, you know, of the greatest wrestler of all
• 29:33
Speaker 4: time in order to re elevate Ospray.
• 29:35
Speaker 1: So I'm kind of confused by that.
• 29:37
Speaker 4: I don't mind Fletcher getting the win, is just so
• 29:40
Speaker 4: clean and so decisive. And then postmatch, you know, once again,
• 29:46
Speaker 4: like you said, he's selling this traumatic neck injury from
• 29:50
Speaker 4: not only the Tombstone but the top brainbuster, and the
• 29:53
Speaker 4: docs aren't in the ring checking his neck to make
• 29:56
Speaker 4: sure you can move them. Like if you got a
• 29:58
Speaker 4: neck injury, Mark Davis, you're not supposed to pick up
• 30:01
Speaker 4: your buddy and try to carry him out. So I mean,
• 30:04
Speaker 4: that's literally what we've learned from wrestling commentary for the
• 30:07
Speaker 4: last twenty years is you can't move the neck.
• 30:10
Speaker 1: You got to stabilize it. You got put the.
• 30:12
Speaker 4: Back borderneath there, otherwise you could paralyze your friends. So
• 30:15
Speaker 4: maybe Mark Davis is kind of an asshole and he
• 30:17
Speaker 4: does have the crappy mustache.
• 30:18
  Speaker 1: Who knows.
• 30:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just that was a very disappointing spot,
• 30:22
Speaker 2: and I know a lot of people were kind of trash,
• 30:24
Speaker 2: and especially after what w WE did recently where Kevin
• 30:28
Speaker 2: Owens used a ban move the pile driver on Randy Orton.
• 30:32
Speaker 2: So I don't know if it overshadowed the match per se,
• 30:37
Speaker 2: but it was definitely a big talking point. Nonetheless, Kyle
• 30:40
Speaker 2: Fletcher gets a massive, massive victory over will Ospray and
• 30:44
Speaker 2: like you, Doctor Trey, I want to see will Ospray
• 30:46
Speaker 2: Viy for the AW World Championship and I don't understand
• 30:49
Speaker 2: the delay right now. Again, this goes back to your
• 30:52
Speaker 2: point about the tag team wrestlers. It just feels like
• 30:55
Speaker 2: w or AW has a wasted opportunity here having will
• 30:58
Speaker 2: ost Bran. The roster people were behind them and they
• 31:01
Speaker 2: did not put the championship on them, which is something
• 31:03
Speaker 2: that they typically did. They would usually immediately strap the
• 31:06
Speaker 2: rocket ship to somebody if there's a lot of buzz,
• 31:08
Speaker 2: and they got away for that for some reason. Next segment,
• 31:12
Speaker 2: here was Maria May and Mina Sherkaga having a champagne
• 31:15
Speaker 2: toast for Mariah. Turned on Mina, but Mina walked away,
• 31:17
Speaker 2: leaving Mariah. Lane got try any thoughts on that segment
• 31:22
Speaker 2: for Mena and Mariah.
• 31:24
Speaker 4: Mina is really pretty, but this was just a god
• 31:28
  Speaker 4: awful segment.
• 31:29
Speaker 1: Like, it was so bad.
• 31:32
Speaker 4: I mean, it was, Jeff, I've never used this in
• 31:36
Speaker 4: the history of doing this show.
• 31:38
Speaker 1: It was porno acting bad. That's how bad it was.
• 31:42
Speaker 4: I mean, I get it Mina doesn't speak the language
• 31:46
Speaker 4: very well, but like, nothing about that said these are
• 31:50
Speaker 4: top stars and these are the two women you now
• 31:52
Speaker 4: have going for your women's heavyweight championship, like or women's title.
• 31:56
Speaker 4: It it was just bad across the board. The only
• 32:01
Speaker 4: thing that I thought was kind of cool was Mina
• 32:03
Speaker 4: licking Mariah, like after the table spot.
• 32:07
Speaker 1: And the blood on there.
• 32:08
Speaker 4: Outside of that, everything else was just atrocious.
• 32:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, it was not a good segment at all, not
• 32:14
Speaker 2: at all. Next match, here is Daniy Garcia defeating Jack
• 32:18
Speaker 2: Perry to win the AWT and T Championship. With both
• 32:21
Speaker 2: at Jack Perry and this one, Daniel Garcia winning a
• 32:23
Speaker 2: single title and aw is longer for due. I've been
• 32:26
Speaker 2: very happy for him. This match had a really good build,
• 32:29
Speaker 2: despite me not being the biggest fan of the character
• 32:31
Speaker 2: Jack Perry's portraying on television. My only issue here was
• 32:34
Speaker 2: they really didn't let Dany Garcia celebrate the title victory
• 32:37
Speaker 2: like I thought he should have doctory point out early
• 32:39
Speaker 2: in the show, he got one of the biggest pops
• 32:41
Speaker 2: of the night. Maybe they were short on time and
• 32:44
Speaker 2: need to get through the rest of the card. It
• 32:46
Speaker 2: felt like a big celebration should have been taking place,
• 32:49
Speaker 2: especially with his mom, and that was a miss moment.
• 32:52
Speaker 2: I felt like Daniel Garcia is the new AWT and
• 32:55
Speaker 2: T Champion. Doctor Trey.
• 32:56
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 32:58
Speaker 4: They were more piled ves on this show than a
• 33:01
Speaker 4: Jerry Lawler Memphis event. Like there was like two pile
• 33:04
Speaker 4: drivers in this match. We had all the tombstones in
• 33:06
Speaker 4: the other matches. I're like, dear guys, like we got
• 33:08
Speaker 4: one tombstone in ten years or we got one pile
• 33:11
Speaker 4: driver in WWE in like fifteen years and eight was like,
• 33:15
Speaker 4: oh my beer, we'll do like five tonight.
• 33:17
Speaker 1: So it's just crazy.
• 33:20
Speaker 4: But like the postmatch stuff and I'm getting little Jack
• 33:24
Speaker 4: Perry stuff here, and just say the postmatch stuff was
• 33:25
Speaker 4: weird to because it's like he won the belt and
• 33:27
Speaker 4: then I don't know if they told him, hey, we're
• 33:30
Speaker 4: short on time, so keep your celebrated short or if
• 33:32
Speaker 4: he just did that, because it looked like the ref
• 33:34
Speaker 4: kept trying to get him to turn around on the
• 33:37
Speaker 4: ramp and he just didn't want to do it. He
• 33:39
Speaker 4: just got the belt, did the little stand on the
• 33:41
Speaker 4: on the security railing, and then just like left and nothing.
• 33:47
Speaker 4: Jack Perry's entrance is fantastic for a guy who doesn't
• 33:51
Speaker 4: look like a malnourished raven like, it's just he comes
• 33:56
Speaker 4: out like he's Kane and he looks like mini Kane.
• 34:01
  Speaker 4: It's just I just I don't know. I don't get
• 34:04
Speaker 4: the goat head is too big for his body. He
• 34:06
Speaker 4: looks like a bobblehead coming down the ramp. And he's
• 34:09
Speaker 4: got all this cool music, the cool graphics, the cool fire,
• 34:12
Speaker 4: and I'm just like, you're expecting a huge star and
• 34:16
Speaker 4: you get a guy who looks like he should be
• 34:19
Speaker 4: on the playground, but beating up kids for lunch money.
• 34:23
Speaker 4: Like he's just not a big enough guy for that entrance,
• 34:28
Speaker 4: Like the Hollywood Jack was a much better fit for
• 34:31
Speaker 4: him than this gimmick. And it's just it's so it's
• 34:35
Speaker 4: just so bad. It's distracting at times. And you know,
• 34:39
Speaker 4: everybody told me what a great restler was. I watched
• 34:40
Speaker 4: this match and Garcia's wrestling circles around him in this match,
• 34:44
  Speaker 4: and I'm like, I don't get it.
• 34:46
  Speaker 1: Does does heat?
• 34:47
Speaker 4: Did he get leverage on Tony Kahan to get back
• 34:50
Speaker 4: in the good graces ors? I don't know what it is,
• 34:53
Speaker 4: but uh, Jack Perry is now my new Sosher Banks.
• 34:56
Speaker 4: That's just how I look at it right now.
• 34:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, if they did the NEPO baby like rich kid
• 35:02
Speaker 2: Jack Perry like that, would people be eating that help
• 35:04
Speaker 2: as a heel not. I don't like this malnourished raven
• 35:08
Speaker 2: as you said, just.
• 35:10
Speaker 1: Just I mean, and he's even doing the arms out thing,
• 35:12
  Speaker 1: like I guess.
• 35:14
Speaker 2: I've always been against it. I mean, I mentioned it
• 35:16
Speaker 2: a couple months ago. I think we were covering all
• 35:20
Speaker 2: out and I'm like this this character just does not
• 35:22
Speaker 2: fit him. I don't believe it at all. No.
• 35:26
Speaker 4: I mean, you could be the rich kid and play
• 35:28
Speaker 4: like a Menendez brother gimmick and you know, tap into
• 35:32
Speaker 4: your Hollywood like your upbringing. But because of that, now
• 35:36
Speaker 4: you're being black ball and that. I think you could
• 35:40
Speaker 4: combine the two and get a good character out of it.
• 35:42
Speaker 4: But this whole like twisted metal type gimmick he's doing
• 35:46
Speaker 4: with the bus and the mask and everything else, I'm like,
• 35:51
Speaker 4: oh my god, Samoa Joe sign off on this.
• 35:53
  Speaker 1: I don't I don't get it at all.
• 35:55
Speaker 2: And I know he's the scapegoat for cmpunk like leaving
• 35:59
Speaker 2: Awn b suspend it, all that shit, But he's not.
• 36:01
Speaker 2: He's not a scapegoat like the kid is. Would he
• 36:04
Speaker 2: be in this position if his name wasn't last name
• 36:07
  Speaker 2: wasn't Perry.
• 36:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean he would have, because I mean he
• 36:10
Speaker 4: got over on the indies with people only kind of
• 36:13
Speaker 4: knowing that he was the son of Luke Perry because
• 36:15
Speaker 4: he didn't really advertise it was.
• 36:16
  Speaker 1: I blame JR.
• 36:18
Speaker 4: For all the Jack Perry stuff because JR hyped it
• 36:20
Speaker 4: up because JR knows, Hey, we can get this kid
• 36:23
Speaker 4: over by his lineage, because hell he did in WWE
• 36:27
Speaker 4: for years and just give him a decent gimmick and
• 36:30
Speaker 4: then like, just right now, this gimmick doesn't It's almost
• 36:34
Speaker 4: as bad as Chavo Guer being Kerwin White.
• 36:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, I would almost say it's as bad as Nicholas
• 36:40
Speaker 2: and Matthew Jackson's. Well, I'm not a big fan of
• 36:42
Speaker 2: that Young Bucks gimmick. As the EVPs, it's almost like
• 36:45
Speaker 2: they've they've gone too far up to eleven and cranked
• 36:49
Speaker 2: it up there. But this, this, to me, the Jack
• 36:52
Speaker 2: Perry character is the out of all the professional wrestling
• 36:58
Speaker 2: This one does not fit person at all.
• 37:01
Speaker 4: This is the ultimate indie gimmick because on the indies,
• 37:04
Speaker 4: little guys always want to act like they're big, tough guys,
• 37:07
Speaker 4: and the big guys want to do lucha moves. This
• 37:09
Speaker 4: is like, I remember when I first broke into the business,
• 37:12
Speaker 4: I saw a guy, Jack Perry size telling me his
• 37:14
Speaker 4: finisher was an attitude adjustment at an F five, and
• 37:18
Speaker 4: I was like, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
• 37:20
Speaker 4: And I lived at the time. I live in Alabama,
• 37:23
Speaker 4: so I've heard a lot of dumb stuff. But this
• 37:25
Speaker 4: is what indie guys do. They try to act like
• 37:27
Speaker 4: there's somebody completely different from what the fans see them as,
• 37:32
Speaker 4: and it's like, yeah, is Jack Perry and ahole and
• 37:34
Speaker 4: give be escapegoat for stuff?
• 37:36
Speaker 1: Absolutely, but he is not like was the what was
• 37:41
  Speaker 1: the bludgeon brother?
• 37:42
Speaker 4: He's not a bludgeon brother for crying out out stop it.
• 37:45
Speaker 1: It's just just bad.
• 37:47
Speaker 2: Next mon years, can I also hit Takashka defeating Ricochet
• 37:50
Speaker 2: to retain the AW International Championship. We did not predict
• 37:53
Speaker 2: this one, as was announced after we recorded last week's show.
• 37:56
Speaker 2: A lot of near falls in this one. I like
• 38:00
Speaker 2: seeming takash could get some wins under his belt and
• 38:01
Speaker 2: continue to grow as a star in AW, but I
• 38:04
Speaker 2: also don't like seeing it at the expense of Ricochet,
• 38:06
Speaker 2: who has had an underwhelming start in AW thus far.
• 38:10
Speaker 2: Has anything really changed for Ricochet since leaving w WE
• 38:14
Speaker 2: other than a really bad catchphrase like Ricochet is out
• 38:17
Speaker 2: of this world? Doctor Trey, what say you?
• 38:21
  Speaker 1: That's so bad?
• 38:22
  Speaker 2: It's terrible.
• 38:23
Speaker 1: It's so bad. I mean your name's by the way.
• 38:27
Speaker 4: I was listening to a couple of podcasts in the
• 38:29
Speaker 4: last couple weeks, and I love when people call it
• 38:31
Speaker 4: it was otis I heard Otis on the Chris Van
• 38:33
Speaker 4: Ballet Show and he kept calling Ricochet Ricky.
• 38:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, he loves it. He calls him pretty Ricky.
• 38:37
Speaker 1: Pretty Ricky. I love it, And that was always the joke.
• 38:40
Speaker 1: Have you ever went irish?
• 38:41
Speaker 4: He used to be rick Okay, But to me, it's
• 38:45
Speaker 4: one of the things like you have a pay per
• 38:47
Speaker 4: view and your two biggest signings of two or your
• 38:51
Speaker 4: three biggest signings in twenty twenty five probably are Osprey,
• 38:55
Speaker 4: Gocatta and Ricochet once not on the show and touring losses,
• 39:00
Speaker 4: and you really haven't elevated anybody any higher than they
• 39:04
Speaker 4: were when they came into the company.
• 39:06
Speaker 1: Like we literally say, this is a.
• 39:08
Speaker 4: Chance for Ricochet to get a big breakout, aw to
• 39:10
Speaker 4: show the world we can do. He's showing the world
• 39:13
Speaker 4: exactly what he did in WWE for six years, seven years,
• 39:16
Speaker 4: Like nothing's changed, And yeah, you're probably getting a better
• 39:19
Speaker 4: payday and you're getting more time off than you were previously,
• 39:22
Speaker 4: but really, at the end of the day, you're not
• 39:25
Speaker 4: any higher on the food chain. But I love Takeshka
• 39:27
Speaker 4: and I love that they're trying to create some of
• 39:29
Speaker 4: their own stars. But at the same time, like you
• 39:32
Speaker 4: got fifteen titles on your show, and right now you
• 39:36
  Speaker 4: don't have.
• 39:36
Speaker 1: Ospreaders to have a title.
• 39:37
Speaker 4: Ricochet doesn't have the title, like the Malachi Black and
• 39:41
Speaker 4: Brodie King don't have Like there's a lot of guys
• 39:43
Speaker 4: that should be champions in this company who are suffering
• 39:47
Speaker 4: for the sake of trying to build up guys like
• 39:48
  Speaker 4: Jack Perry.
• 39:50
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not been a good run so far for
• 39:55
  Speaker 2: Rickochet in AW.
• 39:57
Speaker 1: That's good. I like the match, by the way, I
• 39:58
Speaker 1: just want to say, ID enjoy the match. I love Takeshka,
• 40:01
Speaker 1: I love don Kallis. I like Ricochet a lot. This
• 40:04
Speaker 1: is a really fun match. It's just the booking of
• 40:07
Speaker 1: some of these guys makes zero sense.
• 40:09
  Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the thing. It's just I don't know. Ricochet
• 40:12
Speaker 2: comes over to AW and it's like nothing's changed other
• 40:14
Speaker 2: than a shitty catchphrase, Like it's like, how's that happen? Meanwhile,
• 40:19
Speaker 2: other people, like the next match here are booked extremely well,
• 40:22
Speaker 2: which is Bobby Lashley defeating Swerve Strickland, and we both
• 40:25
Speaker 2: had Bobby Lashley this one. I think letting Bobby Lashley
• 40:28
Speaker 2: MVP and Shelton Bedmin walk from w and not reforming
• 40:31
Speaker 2: the hert business slash syndicate at some point maybe one
• 40:34
Speaker 2: of Triple H's biggest mistakes after taking over Creative. So far,
• 40:38
Speaker 2: Lashley is super over with the fans despite being a heel,
• 40:41
Speaker 2: and I hope his career continues to send an AW.
• 40:43
Speaker 2: I'm a fan of big Bobby defeating the top established
• 40:46
Speaker 2: awstr likes swerve of Strickland in your AW pay per
• 40:48
Speaker 2: view debut is the way you introduce a big name
• 40:50
Speaker 2: into your promotion, Doctor stre We just talked about Ricochet
• 40:54
Speaker 2: and his underwhelming start. Bobby Lashley starting out of the
• 40:57
Speaker 2: gate with a huge victory over one of the biggest
• 40:59
Speaker 2: names aw in s Strickland. Your thoughts on.
• 41:02
Speaker 4: This one, Yeah, and you know, like this was a
• 41:05
Speaker 4: really good match. I really enjoyed it. It's both these
• 41:09
Speaker 4: guys are favorites of mine. It is good, Like I
• 41:15
Speaker 4: I wish there was The short builds are fine, but
• 41:22
Speaker 4: like I'm really trying to establish Bobby Lashley. I want
• 41:25
Speaker 4: some I want some swerve hangman animosity leading into this
• 41:29
Speaker 4: first match. I want to make it feel like a
• 41:31
Speaker 4: big fight. And it felt like a good fight. It
• 41:34
Speaker 4: just didn't feel like it didn't feel like a main
• 41:37
  Speaker 4: event caliber.
• 41:37
Speaker 1: Match, which is what this should be.
• 41:39
Speaker 4: So that was on this point, but the match itself
• 41:42
Speaker 4: was good, and you're right, I mean, right now, could
• 41:45
Speaker 4: you imagine Hurt Business going up against the Wyat six
• 41:48
Speaker 4: once they're done with you know, Final Testament, and and
• 41:52
Speaker 4: the fact that Bobby was scheduled to be Bray White's
• 41:55
Speaker 4: next opponent when bray got sick, and like how good
• 41:58
Speaker 4: that would be. Like they're so much storytelling involved in
• 42:01
Speaker 4: that that just almost rites hisself.
• 42:04
Speaker 1: But yeah, it sucks, We're not gonna get that.
• 42:06
Speaker 4: But look, this is a chance for Bobby Lashley Shell
• 42:09
Speaker 4: and Benjamin MVP and whoever else they bring in to
• 42:13
Speaker 4: show the world what they're capable of, because WWW did
• 42:16
Speaker 4: drop the ball with these guys, you know, at the
• 42:19
Speaker 4: end of their run, and that's Bobby that should be
• 42:21
Speaker 4: a multi time champion. Still does not feel like he
• 42:24
Speaker 4: got the credit or the respect he deserved from his
• 42:27
  Speaker 4: time in WWE.
• 42:28
Speaker 2: I totally agree. I can't believe they let him walk.
• 42:31
Speaker 2: I really thought he was one of the top guys
• 42:34
Speaker 2: in the company. He was one of the top guys
• 42:36
Speaker 2: in the company, and he may have been somebody that
• 42:38
Speaker 2: Vince liked a little bit more than triple h But
• 42:41
Speaker 2: it's like people loved Bobby Lashley when they tried to
• 42:45
Speaker 2: make the Pride in w WE heel it did not work.
• 42:48
Speaker 2: People were chairing him in the street profits on, and
• 42:50
Speaker 2: then here he is an AW when he's getting the
• 42:52
Speaker 2: same reaction. People love Bobby Lashley, and I can't believe
• 42:55
Speaker 2: they let them walk The main event here doctor Trey
• 43:00
Speaker 2: John Moxley defeating Orange Cassidy'd retain the AW World Championship.
• 43:03
Speaker 2: We've both had mox in this one. I thought the
• 43:05
Speaker 2: build up for this match was good until I watched
• 43:08
Speaker 2: the countdown of Full Gear Special where they mentioned basically
• 43:11
Speaker 2: all the top stars are tied up with other stuff
• 43:14
Speaker 2: rather than defending AW from the death Riders, so Orange
• 43:18
Speaker 2: cast seed it is. I could not believe that was
• 43:21
Speaker 2: the reason why why they put that in there in
• 43:24
Speaker 2: that show. I was like shocked with it. They were
• 43:26
Speaker 2: like Osprey, Swerve and Hanging Manner. They're all j white,
• 43:29
Speaker 2: They're involved with other stuff. So I guess Orange Cassidy works.
• 43:33
Speaker 2: The death Rider's angle has been kind of boring and
• 43:36
Speaker 2: need some more to it, which we may be getting
• 43:38
Speaker 2: from the ending of Full Gear. As Hangman page Christian Cage,
• 43:42
Speaker 2: Jay White, and Darby Allen all got involved to close
• 43:45
Speaker 2: the show, which once again I thought was a disservice
• 43:48
Speaker 2: to Orange Cassidy. He was basically an afterthought. Shortly after
• 43:52
Speaker 2: the match, Doctor Trey, I did not love the match.
• 43:55
Speaker 2: I did not love what they did to Orange Cassidy.
• 43:58
Speaker 2: Your thoughts here is mox retains.
• 44:00
Speaker 1: Their match a year ago is better.
• 44:03
Speaker 4: This match was lackluster at best, especially on the heels
• 44:07
Speaker 4: of Lashley and Swerve, Like that match was better than
• 44:10
Speaker 4: this one. And this is your main event. And this
• 44:14
Speaker 4: is also why I figure out Tony why Tony Kahn
• 44:16
Speaker 4: has not blocked me on Twitter or on Hex or
• 44:19
Speaker 4: anything like that, because listen is the freaking show, Jeff,
• 44:22
Speaker 4: because some of the stuff that we say.
• 44:24
Speaker 1: I literally said that verbatim a couple.
• 44:26
  Speaker 4: Of weeks ago, which was I'm a little I'm a
• 44:29
Speaker 4: little bummed that's Orange, because I mean, you got all
• 44:31
Speaker 4: these other guys who are probably bigger stars, but these
• 44:34
Speaker 4: guys are trying to take over your company, and it's
• 44:36
Speaker 4: Orange to the rescue. And Darby, Now, mind you, Darby,
• 44:39
Speaker 4: who three months ago lost a casket match to Jack Perry,
• 44:44
Speaker 4: is your next saving grace, Like I get it, you're
• 44:47
Speaker 4: trying to build some guys out of this, but I mean,
• 44:51
Speaker 4: I mean Jack, I mean Darby Allen crashed a car
• 44:54
Speaker 4: into nothing. You have a guy who's crashing a car
• 44:57
Speaker 4: and apparently no stunt double in this. He's crashing a
• 45:01
Speaker 4: car for the sake of your company. But it's like
• 45:04
Speaker 4: it just doesn't feel right. And then you got Christian Cage,
• 45:07
Speaker 4: who's the most despicable character in all of AW and
• 45:11
Speaker 4: he's out there like maybe trying to cash in, maybe not.
• 45:16
Speaker 4: And I don't understand the contract because apparently there has
• 45:19
Speaker 4: to be a signature is involved in this thing. Like
• 45:21
Speaker 4: I'm completely confused by how that contract works, how this
• 45:26
Speaker 4: whole thing plays out. Why Hangman's out there because Hangman
• 45:31
Speaker 4: is kind of friend with with the Bucks.
• 45:32
  Speaker 1: And they left.
• 45:33
  Speaker 4: I don't really It's it's all over the place and
• 45:37
Speaker 4: nothing is sticking. And that's what worries me about this
• 45:40
Speaker 4: whole angle is because this could be and should be
• 45:44
Speaker 4: the biggest thing going on in AW, which is why
• 45:46
Speaker 4: is the main event. And I was more into Swerving Lashly,
• 45:51
Speaker 4: I mean I was more into hate say, I was
• 45:54
Speaker 4: more into Mercedes and Statlander than I was this match
• 45:57
Speaker 4: it just did not have I never felt like mox
• 46:01
Speaker 4: was in danger of losing his title on this show,
• 46:05
Speaker 4: and that is a disservice to Orange Cassidy in your
• 46:08
  Speaker 4: main event.
• 46:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, it was the clothes was fine, the Darby stuff
• 46:13
Speaker 2: we talked about in the last week's show too. He
• 46:14
Speaker 2: gets his ass kicked by Claudio Casa and Noli headed
• 46:17
Speaker 2: into the pay per view, So like, why would I
• 46:18
Speaker 2: think he can defend aw's honor to John Moxley. It's
• 46:25
Speaker 2: I don't know. The booking is so freaking bad at times,
• 46:28
Speaker 2: and this is a case of it. It's just the
• 46:30
Speaker 2: death writer's angle. I'm watching the match, I'm watching the
• 46:33
Speaker 2: end of the show into the show kind of like
• 46:35
Speaker 2: got me interested, but I'm like, man.
• 46:37
Speaker 1: This angle is bad.
• 46:38
Speaker 2: It's boring. The death Writers are coming off is very
• 46:43
Speaker 2: boring on television right now. There's nothing about them or
• 46:47
Speaker 2: the Moxley character presently that I'm like interested in. And
• 46:50
  Speaker 2: I'm a huge fan of mox I'm a huge fan
• 46:52
Speaker 2: of Pak and Wheeler, Juda and Claudio Marina Shafirra all
• 46:56
Speaker 2: of a sudden, randomly speaking Russian, not a big fan
• 46:58
Speaker 2: of but writers like these are guys that I like,
• 47:02
Speaker 2: and they have found a way to make them incredibly
• 47:04
Speaker 2: boring for me and just it's not enjoyable. They got
• 47:09
Speaker 2: to do something here to make this very interesting soon,
• 47:12
  Speaker 2: doctor try.
• 47:13
Speaker 4: The way to make this work is I hate to
• 47:15
Speaker 4: say this because both the wrestling fans will get mad
• 47:17
Speaker 4: at me, is literally go watch nineteen ninety four ninety
• 47:22
Speaker 4: five WCW. With the nWo, the fact that they need
• 47:25
Speaker 4: to be attacking everybody. You need your attacks need to
• 47:29
Speaker 4: form allegiances against you, you know, And honestly, once they
• 47:34
Speaker 4: start doing that, they need to add a couple of
• 47:35
Speaker 4: people into the mix. They need to add a couple
• 47:38
Speaker 4: more people onto the Death Writers because right now, like
• 47:41
Speaker 4: you should feel like with a name for one with
• 47:44
Speaker 4: a name like the Death Writers and you have the
• 47:45
Speaker 4: world title in your hands, you need to have your
• 47:48
Speaker 4: group feel like oncoming doom. Like if you remember back
• 47:52
Speaker 4: when the nWo launched and you start seeing those attacks
• 47:55
Speaker 4: and then Hogan joined, and then you just kind of
• 47:57
Speaker 4: felt like this wave and who's going to stay end
• 48:00
Speaker 4: up against this way that's about to come crashing down
• 48:03
Speaker 4: on the entire company.
• 48:04
Speaker 1: That's how you need to set this up.
• 48:06
Speaker 4: You need to set it up to make it feel
• 48:07
Speaker 4: like the death writers are the biggest risk to the
• 48:10
Speaker 4: sanctity of AEW and right now they feel like the
• 48:14
  Speaker 4: biggest threat.
• 48:14
Speaker 1: To the mid cart of AAW.
• 48:16
Speaker 4: And that's a disservice to everybody involved because this should
• 48:20
Speaker 4: be your biggest storyline in your biggest bills. So you
• 48:23
Speaker 4: need to start getting your bigger stars involved. Like you remember,
• 48:26
Speaker 4: early on the NBO it was like, who's going to
• 48:28
Speaker 4: stand up against them? And you know, and in to
• 48:30
Speaker 4: being sting and Luger, and even then at times you
• 48:33
Speaker 4: felt like that it doesn't match up. But it also
• 48:36
Speaker 4: goes back that you don't want two guys holding off
• 48:37
Speaker 4: your entire roster like halla Ashton on one episode. But
• 48:41
Speaker 4: you need this group to feel like they're coming in
• 48:44
Speaker 4: to take out everybody, and it doesn't feel like that yet.
• 48:48
Speaker 1: And that's kind of what's lacking in this angle.
• 48:50
Speaker 4: They need to feel like they're a threat to ae
• 48:54
Speaker 4: W and right now they just don't feel like that.
• 48:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, and the other stuff too, is you know, it's
• 49:01
Speaker 2: like this is their vision of AW. Then Big Boom
• 49:04
Speaker 2: a JSON the pre show, it's like, okay, so this
• 49:07
Speaker 2: is your vision for AW. Yeah, you know, it makes
• 49:12
  Speaker 2: sense in.
• 49:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, John Moxy has a death rider on the Wrizzler.
• 49:17
Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. He just says some random, weird promo that's
• 49:21
Speaker 2: hard to follow, and the Wrizzler just does the Wrizzler
• 49:23
Speaker 2: face in his face. So and then and then the
• 49:27
Speaker 2: Wrizzler and Poker eyed Eye and battle in and out
• 49:30
Speaker 2: all in one shot. It's it's it was weird, very
• 49:33
Speaker 2: very weird. Nonetheless, let's match the night vent rating. I'll
• 49:38
Speaker 2: start here, doctor Trey. I gave aw Full Gear a
• 49:42
Speaker 2: three point four out of five, and my match the
• 49:45
Speaker 2: night was Mercedes Money and Chris Statlander.
• 49:47
Speaker 1: What say you okay?
• 49:49
  Speaker 2: This?
• 49:49
Speaker 1: By the way, guys, this was not rahears.
• 49:50
Speaker 4: I had a three point four also, uh and my imagine,
• 49:53
Speaker 4: I just purely out of the fact that I could
• 49:57
Speaker 4: never give Mercedes Money. The match of the night was
• 49:59
Speaker 4: lastly in so last year's Serve match night, Mercedes in
• 50:03
Speaker 4: stat later on and Aussie was basically an equal match
• 50:07
Speaker 4: to me those two, so I just I gave it
• 50:09
Speaker 4: to Swerve. And lastly, just because I still Mercedes Money
• 50:13
Speaker 4: hasn't won me over yet to actually say that ever
• 50:15
  Speaker 4: about her.
• 50:16
Speaker 2: All right, doctor Trey. So there you go, A w
• 50:18
Speaker 2: full gears in the books and let's start to prepredict
• 50:21
Speaker 2: w Survivor Series war games. It comes to us this
• 50:24
Speaker 2: Saturday from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
• 50:28
Speaker 2: The first match on the card here is La Night.
• 50:30
Speaker 2: Oh I'm sorry, I didn't even do the pay per
• 50:31
Speaker 2: view prediction record, so both of us were six and
• 50:34
Speaker 2: three coming out of this pay per view. I'm one
• 50:37
Speaker 2: thirty nine and thirty nine. Doctor Trey's one twenty six
• 50:39
Speaker 2: to fifty two. Now to Survivor Series. La Night versus
• 50:43
Speaker 2: Shinsk for the w W United States Championship. The returning
• 50:46
Speaker 2: Chitinsk happy to see him back, but I'm gonna take
• 50:49
Speaker 2: La Night in this one, Doctor Trey.
• 50:51
Speaker 4: Man, I really want to keep I really want to
• 50:53
  Speaker 4: take shins K, but I don't think they've built this
• 50:55
Speaker 4: up enough, and plus he keeps getting the upper hands,
• 50:57
Speaker 4: so I'm gonna take La Knights to retain as well.
• 51:00
Speaker 2: X match is bron Breaker defending the Intercontinental Championship in
• 51:03
Speaker 2: a triple threat match against Seamus and Ludwig Kaiser. I
• 51:07
Speaker 2: actually there's gonna be a title change here, and I'm
• 51:09
Speaker 2: going to go with Seamus. Finally completing the Grand Slam
• 51:12
Speaker 2: of becoming an Intercontinental champion.
• 51:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, it kind of feels like Bron's the guy they're
• 51:18
Speaker 4: going to kind of hot shot the title on and
• 51:20
Speaker 4: off for a little bit, like he'll lose it, get
• 51:23
Speaker 4: it back, lose it, get it back. He might get
• 51:25
Speaker 4: five reigns within a year with this interconnent title. But
• 51:28
Speaker 4: I was doing the same thing, like, if you're gonna
• 51:30
Speaker 4: ever pull the trigger on Seamus getting the Grand Slam,
• 51:32
Speaker 4: it's gonna be now.
• 51:33
Speaker 1: And he's lost the way, he looks way better than
• 51:35
Speaker 1: he did when he came back.
• 51:36
Speaker 4: So I'm gonna give Seamus getting the win by taking
• 51:40
Speaker 4: out Kaiser and then setting up breaker seamous rematch.
• 51:43
Speaker 2: At Royal Rumble, Gunner defends the World have Aweight Championship
• 51:47
Speaker 2: against Damian Priest. I am going to take guntherro in
• 51:50
Speaker 2: this one, Doctor Trey.
• 51:51
Speaker 1: You know it's funny.
• 51:52
Speaker 4: I was on another podcast earlier this week and there's
• 51:57
Speaker 4: four people in the show and two of them took
• 51:58
Speaker 4: Damian Priest and the other two to Gunther. So I
• 52:02
Speaker 4: still feel like they have Goldberg in the can for
• 52:05
Speaker 4: Gunther and I still say Johnsena and Gunther at WrestleMania
• 52:08
Speaker 4: is a great match to go to if you want
• 52:10
Speaker 4: to get that Ivan Drago Rocky kind of feel. So
• 52:13
Speaker 4: I'm taking Gunther to Retain to possibly set those two
• 52:16
  Speaker 4: matches up.
• 52:17
Speaker 2: Do Trent, do you want to promote this show that
• 52:18
Speaker 2: people go out can go out and listen to them.
• 52:20
Speaker 1: I'll save it for the close also spots at the end.
• 52:24
Speaker 2: Next match year is Ria Ripley, Bianca Bella, are Naomi Eo,
• 52:27
Speaker 2: Sky and Bailey replacing the injured the real really injured,
• 52:31
Speaker 2: uh Jade Cargill against liv Morgan, rock Cal Rodriguez, Nijack,
• 52:35
Speaker 2: Tiffany Stratton, cannicel Right. In a women's wargame match, I'm
• 52:39
Speaker 2: gonna go with Ria, Bianca, Naomi Eo and Bailey Doctor
• 52:42
  Speaker 2: Trey Oh good.
• 52:43
Speaker 4: We get to disagree on one, so I'm taking Live,
• 52:46
Speaker 4: Nya Tiffany because uh, it just feels like I said
• 52:49
Speaker 4: their show like, it feels like NYA and Live are
• 52:52
Speaker 4: placeholders for their titles, so they need a big win.
• 52:55
Speaker 4: So I'm gonna take them getting the win in Survivor series.
• 52:58
Speaker 2: And then the men's wargame actually got Roman Range, ja Uso,
• 53:01
Speaker 2: Jimmy Usso, Sammy Zain and the Fifth Man Ce m
• 53:05
Speaker 2: Punk taking on Solo so CoA, Jacob Fatou, Tomatung Ktungalow,
• 53:09
Speaker 2: and Broughton Red in a men's wargame match. Doc Trey,
• 53:12
Speaker 2: I'm going to take the OG bloodline and see him Punk.
• 53:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's with another match that we talked about on
• 53:18
Speaker 4: that show, and I'm taking the OG bloodline as well.
• 53:20
Speaker 4: I think you can't put rains in Punk on the
• 53:23
Speaker 4: same team and have them lose. But I do think
• 53:25
Speaker 4: that there will be a post match beat down and
• 53:28
Speaker 4: possibly the reveal of some New Bloodline new members and
• 53:31
Speaker 4: possibly do you think we see the final Boss at
• 53:34
  Speaker 4: Survivor series.
• 53:35
Speaker 2: I think he may be there. I think he may
• 53:37
Speaker 2: be there, So I kind of.
• 53:39
Speaker 4: Feel like this is where the reveal comes that he's
• 53:42
Speaker 4: in charge of the New Bloodline to start setting up
• 53:45
Speaker 4: Solo and Roman and then eventually Rock and Roman. So
• 53:48
Speaker 4: that's I kind of feel like we're gonna get that reveal.
• 53:49
Speaker 4: Suit It may not happen at this show, but it
• 53:52
Speaker 4: might happen right after Unraw. I just feel like it's
• 53:54
Speaker 4: coming soon to start setting up for Rumble.
• 53:57
Speaker 2: Not sure one we're gonna be able to talk about this,
• 53:59
Speaker 2: but the CM Punk I loved the booking on this
• 54:02
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey because it makes so much sense. Because Seth
• 54:06
Speaker 2: Ronds wants Bronson Reid Punk. He is going to enter
• 54:09
Speaker 2: this match and supersede Seth Ronalds, who could have potentially
• 54:12
Speaker 2: taken the spot. He said he wanted to take the
• 54:14
Speaker 2: spot even though he wants Bronson. Reid Punk will be
• 54:16
Speaker 2: in the cage with Bronson and then the other members
• 54:18
Speaker 2: of the Bloodline. He is defending Paul Hayman's honor in this,
• 54:22
Speaker 2: which makes a ton of sense. I thought this was
• 54:25
Speaker 2: really good, creative, smart booking.
• 54:27
Speaker 4: Oh, it was fantastic because this is that long term
• 54:30
Speaker 4: storytelling we talked about in WDB where they do stuff
• 54:34
Speaker 4: four or five months ago and it doesn't make sense
• 54:36
Speaker 4: to us, like why'd that happen? And then it makes
• 54:37
Speaker 4: sense later on if you go back to that CM
• 54:41
Speaker 4: Punk in Chicago, Solo comes out to make him acknowledge him,
• 54:44
Speaker 4: but Paul's in the ring and he's like, Paul, what
• 54:46
  Speaker 4: do you want?
• 54:47
Speaker 1: He's like, take me with you. Oh, that was so good.
• 54:49
Speaker 4: And then Paul Hayman wearing almost the exact same outfits
• 54:53
Speaker 4: Solo was wearing when they put him through the table,
• 54:55
Speaker 4: like such good little intricacies in the storytelling and all this.
• 54:59
Speaker 4: I I'm actually this, this actually got me e cyper
• 55:02
  Speaker 4: Survivors because I wasn't. I mean, I was kind of
• 55:03
Speaker 4: feeling it, but I need to see the fifth member
• 55:06
Speaker 4: was this has got me kind of feeling the Survivor series.
• 55:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was really really good booking. Talking of cmpunk,
• 55:14
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, it is now one year later of cm
• 55:18
Speaker 2: punk and w w WW has released a very very
• 55:21
Speaker 2: fun less than ten minutes documentary on YouTube that I
• 55:23
Speaker 2: highly recommend everybody checking out with the return of cmpunk
• 55:27
Speaker 2: behind the scenes in w WI Whinning Returns Survivers series
• 55:30
Speaker 2: last year. Here we are one year later. What do
• 55:34
Speaker 2: you think so far of Cmpunk's first year back in
• 55:37
  Speaker 2: World Wrestling Entertainment.
• 55:39
  Speaker 1: I think it's been good. It's not great, but it's
• 55:42
Speaker 1: been a good. Part of that was the injury.
• 55:44
Speaker 4: The injury kept them out for a little while, but
• 55:46
Speaker 4: they were able to keep some storytelling going and keep
• 55:50
Speaker 4: them to keep the fans engaged in this whole thing.
• 55:53
Speaker 4: He's been on his best behavior. We haven't heard of
• 55:55
Speaker 4: anybody any complaints. We haven't heard of any you know,
• 55:58
Speaker 4: backstage rifts. He seems like he's having fun. They're using
• 56:01
Speaker 4: him in good spots. And here's the crazy thing, Jeff,
• 56:04
Speaker 4: it's been a year and Cody, I mean we see him.
• 56:08
Speaker 4: Punk has not faced Seth or Cody in this entire time,
• 56:12
Speaker 4: and those are two people that we thought he was
• 56:14
Speaker 4: definitely gonna face when he came back. He hasn't fought
• 56:16
Speaker 4: Cody or Seth, and he's teaming with Roman Reigns. So
• 56:21
Speaker 4: it's crazy how this year's played out. It's basically him
• 56:24
Speaker 4: and Drew McIntyre and that's it. But don't forget he
• 56:27
Speaker 4: had the interaction with with Gunther, so that's still in
• 56:30
Speaker 4: the pipeline. The face to face with the Roman coming
• 56:33
Speaker 4: up this Friday on Smackdowns on the pipeline. So the
• 56:36
Speaker 4: year one's been good, but man, year two can be fantastic.
• 56:41
Speaker 2: Punk was injured for about seven months this year and
• 56:44
Speaker 2: it never felt like it, Doctor Try. That's what's crazy.
• 56:48
Speaker 2: He may have one of the best feuds of this
• 56:51
Speaker 2: year with Drew McIntyre. Like you said, you would have
• 56:54
Speaker 2: figured by this point he would have a match with Seth,
• 56:57
Speaker 2: Rahm's Cody Rhodes, Roman Rains, Damien Pray's Gunther, whomever. He
• 57:02
Speaker 2: hasn't basically his only matches with Drew McIntyre and now
• 57:06
Speaker 2: he's seen him with the LG Bloodline to defend Paul
• 57:09
Speaker 2: Hayman's honor. He looks revitalized, he looks refreshed, he looks
• 57:14
Speaker 2: like he's having fun. I think everybody went into this
• 57:17
Speaker 2: with optimism and pessimism as well, potentially of him returning
• 57:21
Speaker 2: to w WII and working with Triple H again. So far,
• 57:25
Speaker 2: so good, Doc Tray, and I hope it continues that
• 57:27
Speaker 2: way because the people that are benefiting from it are us. Yeah.
• 57:31
Speaker 4: I mean, he spent all that time and Drew McIntyre
• 57:33
Speaker 4: over a bracelet, and now he's jumping into the bloodline
• 57:36
Speaker 4: feed over a necklace. So apparently every kiss begins with
• 57:40
  Speaker 4: CM punk Yeah.
• 57:41
Speaker 2: No, it is the Christmas season, so maybe he has
• 57:43
Speaker 2: some Black Friday deals that he has a zion and
• 57:46
Speaker 2: he needs to get that stuff back for a j Lee.
• 57:49
Speaker 2: Let's wrap up the show here, Doctor Trey with of
• 57:53
Speaker 2: course it is Thanksgiving. What is the one thing we
• 57:57
Speaker 2: are thankful for in professional wrestling?
• 57:59
  Speaker 1: Right now?
• 58:00
Speaker 2: Now? I start with you, Doctor Trey.
• 58:01
Speaker 4: Oh, what am I thankful in professional wrestling? That we
• 58:05
Speaker 4: have two shows that combined or We have two brands
• 58:09
Speaker 4: that combined give you everything in the world of wrestling
• 58:12
Speaker 4: you can possibly want. You have one show that has
• 58:15
Speaker 4: really good matches and some great storytelling. You have another
• 58:18
Speaker 4: show that has storytelling but some fantastic matches. There really
• 58:24
Speaker 4: isn't a whole lot if you look at the grand
• 58:27
Speaker 4: scheme of wrestling where we're at in.
• 58:29
Speaker 1: Twenty twenty four heading into twenty.
• 58:30
Speaker 4: Twenty five, that you can really complain about, especially compared
• 58:34
Speaker 4: to some of the years past that we've been covering
• 58:36
Speaker 4: the show. Wrestling's in a really, really good spot. It's
• 58:40
Speaker 4: getting notoriety, it's getting public buzz. This has been the
• 58:44
Speaker 4: most fun in wrestling I have had in probably ten
• 58:47
Speaker 4: years at least. So I'm just happy for the health
• 58:52
Speaker 4: of professional wrestling right now.
• 58:54
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey mentioned early on, we did not plan these things.
• 58:57
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey did not know I was going to ask
• 58:59
Speaker 2: this question until I literally asked it. And my one
• 59:02
Speaker 2: thing is very similar to yours, and it's just the
• 59:04
Speaker 2: overall it's the health of profession wrestler right now. It's
• 59:07
Speaker 2: in a very very good spot. It's a lot of
• 59:10
Speaker 2: things that you just said. We've been doing this podcast
• 59:14
Speaker 2: in February We'll have been doing this podcast now for
• 59:16
Speaker 2: fifteen years, doctor Trey full time for thirteen, but he
• 59:20
Speaker 2: has been part of it since like the first I
• 59:23
Speaker 2: think he was in the first ten episodes of SRTU.
• 59:26
Speaker 2: So for fifteen years we've been covering wrestling here in
• 59:29
Speaker 2: SRTU nearly and this has been one of the most
• 59:33
Speaker 2: fun times I've ever had. I mean, WWE is really
• 59:37
Speaker 2: good right now. Aw has a lot to work on,
• 59:42
Speaker 2: but we know it can be good based on things
• 59:44
Speaker 2: that they've done in the past. People are entertained by wrestling.
• 59:48
Speaker 2: People are having fun watching wrestling, people are going out
• 59:50
Speaker 2: to shows for wrestling, people are talking about wrestling. You
• 59:54
Speaker 2: see wrestling back out there. I always refer back to
• 59:57
Speaker 2: the golden era of my time in my lifetime wrestling
• 1:00:00
Speaker 2: fan was the late nineties. It's very similar to that.
• 1:00:03
  Speaker 2: I don't think it's fully there yet, but it's a
• 1:00:06
Speaker 2: time where people are paying attention to what's going on.
• 1:00:10
Speaker 2: And twenty twenty four, when I look back at it,
• 1:00:13
Speaker 2: for professional wrestling, maybe one of the most fun years
• 1:00:15
Speaker 2: we've ever had covering it because a lot of twists
• 1:00:18
Speaker 2: and turns, a lot of things they could have crashed
• 1:00:22
Speaker 2: and burned and they didn't. And you know, in the
• 1:00:25
Speaker 2: instance Seth, the Seth Rollins, Cody Roads, Robin Rains Rock
• 1:00:28
Speaker 2: storyline heading in the Wrestlemaning could have kept crash and
• 1:00:30
Speaker 2: burned severely, and WA did a complete one eighty reverse course,
• 1:00:34
Speaker 2: salvaged it and probably made it better than what was
• 1:00:37
Speaker 2: originally planned and made it extremely entertaining and fun to
• 1:00:40
Speaker 2: watch as if you were at home. It's just fun
• 1:00:43
Speaker 2: right now. It's a fun time to be a wrestling fan.
• 1:00:46
Speaker 2: And that is what I'm most thankful for. And I'm
• 1:00:51
Speaker 2: thankful that we still get to do this stuff and
• 1:00:53
Speaker 2: still have fun talking wrestling each and every week, and
• 1:00:55
Speaker 2: thankful that we get an opportunity for fourteen years to
• 1:00:57
Speaker 2: sit here on Thanksgiving and top professional wrestling and have
• 1:01:00
Speaker 2: folks around the world download the show on a holiday
• 1:01:04
Speaker 2: to get away from people for a little bit, some
• 1:01:07
Speaker 2: family for a little bit. Let me pop in Doctor
• 1:01:08
Speaker 2: Train and Jeff Peck for over an hour talk of
• 1:01:11
Speaker 2: professional wrestling. Listen to these guys just kind of shoot
• 1:01:14
Speaker 2: the breeze about everything that they like dislike about professional wrestling.
• 1:01:17
Speaker 2: So thanks for everybody who has supported the show over
• 1:01:19
Speaker 2: the years, and thank you for downloading as always, and
• 1:01:22
Speaker 2: feel free to feel free to chime in for what
• 1:01:24
Speaker 2: you were most thankful for in regards to professional wrestling

Speaker 4: It's just it was a good time we got to
• 1:04:21
Speaker 4: It's it's a They do a similar type thing to us.
• 1:04:23
Speaker 4: They do a lot of talk about the wrestling world
• 1:04:26
Speaker 4: and recapping some stuff, but uh, they do a lot
• 1:04:29
Speaker 4: more deep dives into certain areas that we do. Uh,
• 1:04:33
Speaker 4: and more fancy booking than we do, because, as you

Speaker 4: episode of the year is seven seven seven, which was
• 1:05:18
Speaker 4: who you Were in Atlantic City. That'd be a really
• 1:05:20
Speaker 4: good number to have. I'm excited because twenty twenty four
• 1:05:25
Speaker 4: has been so good. I am stoked to see what
• 1:05:28
Speaker 4: twenty twenty five brings us, and I can't there are
• 1:05:30
Speaker 4: years in the past you and I know this that
• 1:05:32
Speaker 4: we couldn't say that heading into the new year, about
• 1:05:36
Speaker 4: how real like we had to be optimistic and cautiously
• 1:05:39
Speaker 4: optimistic and hopeful. Dude, I am downright giddy about how
• 1:05:45
Speaker 4: good twenty twenty five might. I mean we're gonna I mean,
• 1:05:47
Speaker 4: not only is wrestling coming to Netflix, wrestling is also
• 1:05:50
Speaker 4: coming to Max. So I mean the fact that you're
• 1:05:53
Speaker 4: gonna have two different streaming services showing wrestling, that you
• 1:05:57
Speaker 4: can literally cut the cord and watch wrestling on this
• 1:06:00
Speaker 4: your streaming stuff like, and that gives it a little
• 1:06:03
Speaker 4: more openness to what content thinking show.
• 1:06:05
  Speaker 1: Dude.
• 1:06:06
Speaker 4: I am just so excited for twenty twenty five that
• 1:06:09
Speaker 4: I have said dude so many times the last five minutes.
• 1:06:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I'm with you, dude. So it's a good
• 1:06:16
Speaker 2: time for professional wrestling. More importantly, to those who celebrate
