- 0:05Speaker 1: Apoche production.
- 0:21Speaker 2: All right, go on this podcast.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think this has even been chill Corey.
- 0:25Speaker 2: This is all thanks to no it's a bit cold,
- 0:28Speaker 2: but it's a bit early for a bit.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Thanks to Queensland beer. I think it's just cold outside,
- 0:32Speaker 3: so it's just okay. Everything's cold.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Thanks boys, it's around me.
- 0:34Speaker 3: When I was in living in Boston, you could just
- 0:36Speaker 3: put your beers on the balcony.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I liked for the I like for them. I just
- 0:40Speaker 2: smashed about eighteen of these on my camping trip.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Oh yes, in in a stint Queensland Berka. Three and
- 0:46Speaker 3: a half percent right on a six.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Day camping trip.
- 0:49Speaker 3: That is impossible.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I agree.
- 0:50Speaker 4: That's why I say hall allu to the vomiting boat,
- 0:54Speaker 4: thank you very much. I had a six pack after
- 0:56Speaker 4: I didn't have one when I left, I had on
- 0:59Speaker 4: when I come back.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It was great.
- 1:02Speaker 3: That's your die playing die plan right there, guys. Thanks
- 1:05Speaker 3: rhino virus, it was I lost seven kilos. And yeah,
- 1:12Speaker 3: so you didn't see much footy over the weekend.
- 1:14Speaker 4: No, no, we well we starling, but I didn't want
- 1:17Speaker 4: to spoil camping. Camping shouldn't be shouldn't be done with
- 1:20Speaker 4: phones and and all that stuff so off the screen.
- 1:22Speaker 4: So I just turned it off and I felt like
- 1:24Speaker 4: because I was one that had starting.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Okay, that's nice, you're in control.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I was in control now.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Speaking of being in control the Queensland, you know we've
- 1:35Speaker 3: got the decider here at SUNCRP. Very short odds. I
- 1:39Speaker 3: don't like that, or like a dollar fifty five dollars sixty.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Yeah, Look, I don't know how they just decide the
- 1:46Speaker 4: odds rugby league to be, to be quite honest, especially sports,
- 1:51Speaker 4: I an't well, not all sports.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Just the money is it's just like that one.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Way to go on for it.
- 1:56Speaker 4: But you know the odds have got to come out
- 1:59Speaker 4: and it's just funny how you know the odds are
- 2:03Speaker 4: usually wrong?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they are often, aren't they?
- 2:07Speaker 2: H Honestly? How often are they wrong?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:10Speaker 4: I'd love to know, especially in Origin. But I never
- 2:13Speaker 4: see deciders home games as an advantage anymore.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I really don't NA. When I played, I never felt
- 2:24Speaker 2: disadvantage when you play if you played away Origin, yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 2: definitely Origin.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I never felt that much like no, like no, I
- 2:32Speaker 4: want to say none. I didn't feel disadvantaged because yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 4: you're all in that in that team for a reason.
- 2:39Speaker 4: You're all the best players in the game, you know,
- 2:41Speaker 4: on both teams. You know, yes, the crowds at one
- 2:46Speaker 4: tune at the other, but those boost.
- 2:49Speaker 2: You're just as ramped up.
- 2:50Speaker 4: They Yeah so, And I used to love it because
- 2:53Speaker 4: the one thing I used to take into that, you
- 2:55Speaker 4: know that the away game was all those boozing. I
- 2:58Speaker 4: want to shut them up as well as I can,
- 3:01Speaker 4: and if I see them leaving, and that's that's given
- 3:04Speaker 4: me back and pump up.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yeah, Mitch Moses, he didn't have a great game of
- 3:09Speaker 3: the last Origin. They've named him again. Yeah, you surprised
- 3:12Speaker 3: by that?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Nah, Nah, No, I don't know.
- 3:15Speaker 4: I feel like I was Katar didn't get that risk injury,
- 3:19Speaker 4: which is the only thing I did see when I
- 3:20Speaker 4: started getting back in the service.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I think he might have been.
- 3:24Speaker 4: As an eighteen nineteen to see how the week was
- 3:28Speaker 4: going to go.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, because he's one of those players where I'm.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Like, wow, yeah, you know, and I reckon he loves pressure,
- 3:36Speaker 4: loves big games, and he can win game and I
- 3:38Speaker 4: think he's one of those guys that could. Yeah, he
- 3:41Speaker 4: could be one of those State of Origin players I
- 3:43Speaker 4: think for the Blues.
- 3:45Speaker 3: More more Dolphins players did get the call up though,
- 3:47Speaker 3: Boss Doc. Yeah that was for New South Wales. He's
- 3:50Speaker 3: going to be on the wing, starting wing.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Now look that I know you'd be like, oh, well
- 3:54Speaker 4: say Katar could do it and he couldn't. Well, Look
- 3:56Speaker 4: the difference is cause I was shown that he can
- 3:59Speaker 4: handle the pressure to play big games, play play you know,
- 4:04Speaker 4: control of the game winning games on his own. You
- 4:07Speaker 4: can't say Bostock can do that on the wing. And
- 4:09Speaker 4: I can't say he's you know, been consistently perfect either,
- 4:15Speaker 4: you know what I.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Mean, like pressures.
- 4:17Speaker 4: He's been playing center last few weeks also, and I
- 4:20Speaker 4: heard as he played on different sides to what he
- 4:22Speaker 4: was playing in normal and then in the normal rounds.
- 4:26Speaker 4: You know, I find that interesting, you know, very young
- 4:30Speaker 4: kids still. I think he's had a lot to learn still,
- 4:34Speaker 4: but look as a Queensland, are you you're going to peppery.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah he does. But he does get up
- 4:41Speaker 3: high like he's.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Got its origin matter. You get up high your land
- 4:47Speaker 4: and you're going to get whack.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 4: So if I was, if I was him, i'd be
- 4:51Speaker 4: preparing for if there's thirty eight sets, thirty eight bombs. Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 4: really I'm not kid going to Yeah, wouldn't you first
- 5:00Speaker 4: game decider, some.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Core young kid.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Ye, another Dolphin. I thought it was good. Finifiaki has
- 5:09Speaker 3: been dropped for Paddy Carragan coming back, Yeah, which I mean,
- 5:12Speaker 3: you get it, Patty's the incumbent.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think it's funny like Queensland like we Yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 4: they've they've got these players all ready to go.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and I.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Think that's the best thing, you know, in the last
- 5:26Speaker 4: I don't know how long we can go back, but
- 5:28Speaker 4: for a long time now they've one guy's in the
- 5:32Speaker 4: next game. There's always another guy straight up to Clacker
- 5:34Speaker 4: ready to go.
- 5:35Speaker 3: So yeah, actually speaking, I had good having Nana back.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Great for the Cowboys and his his his Origin career
- 5:44Speaker 4: is so fresh and so you know, it's it's so new,
- 5:48Speaker 4: but he's still I think eleven games already, it's twenty
- 5:51Speaker 4: three and he's been unbelievable and eighty percent of those
- 5:55Speaker 4: you know, yeah those he's he's an Origin player.
- 5:58Speaker 3: You wouldn't have seen did you see the I didn't
- 6:00Speaker 3: the try So sprinting through you know, up high catches
- 6:04Speaker 3: the ball still has a man to beat, score to
- 6:06Speaker 3: try to ice the game for the Cowboys.
- 6:08Speaker 4: He's just and that's nothing against Phenophiliaky. It's just he
- 6:14Speaker 4: played really good in that time he got I thought,
- 6:16Speaker 4: but you know, in a game like this, you want
- 6:20Speaker 4: those players, you guys that have been there.
- 6:23Speaker 2: You know, you know what they're going to give you.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Same with Patty Carrigan.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I feel like our starting thirteen again is really strong,
- 6:32Speaker 4: you know, compared to the Blues.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Thought, I think ours is probably stronger.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I am going to jump right in right now and
- 6:38Speaker 1: interrupt this broadcast. These two are jibbering today. The Boys
- 6:43Speaker 1: recorded on Tuesday. I'm recording here on Wednesday, so I'm
- 6:47Speaker 1: a week out from state of Origin and they have
- 6:50Speaker 1: no idea what they're talking about. I you know, this
- 6:53Speaker 1: was almost a small bit of an experiment to see
- 6:56Speaker 1: how the Boys could handle a podcast as the two
- 7:00Speaker 1: of them, as you can see and as you can hear,
- 7:04Speaker 1: they are both dumb dumps anyway, So Origin, it's a
- 7:08Speaker 1: week out the decider sun Corp Stadium, really looking forward
- 7:12Speaker 1: to it. Both teams still in a couple of different
- 7:15Speaker 1: things in this camp. I know that New South Wales.
- 7:18Speaker 1: On the Monday night they came into camp, they had
- 7:22Speaker 1: a special function a special dinner with the nineteen ninety
- 7:25Speaker 1: six New South Wales team. So Laurie Dalley trying to
- 7:29Speaker 1: find a little one percent to help his team get
- 7:33Speaker 1: over the line. So the nineteen ninety six team was
- 7:36Speaker 1: a team that won three nil in that series only
- 7:40Speaker 1: using seventeen players. Very unlikely twenty twenty six team. I
- 7:46Speaker 1: think they've used I don't know how many players, but
- 7:50Speaker 1: you know, you can start to see the coaches trying
- 7:53Speaker 1: to find that one percent for their team. The players
- 7:56Speaker 1: are good enough to do a job, but sometimes with
- 7:59Speaker 1: a little inspiration from someone else can help them. So
- 8:02Speaker 1: LOI was doing that on the Monday night they went
- 8:04Speaker 1: in camp. On the Tuesday we had the Queensland Maroons
- 8:10Speaker 1: go up to rock Hampton, which was fantastic as well, Billy.
- 8:16Speaker 1: It's something that we used to do when we were
- 8:18Speaker 1: playing is go to a small regional, rural town and
- 8:24Speaker 1: see and meet the people that you're playing for. Edwin
- 8:27Speaker 1: would have been a really great experience for guys from
- 8:31Speaker 1: central Queensland, Harry Grant's camp Munsters who grew up in
- 8:36Speaker 1: rock Hampton in that central Queensland area, and they would
- 8:40Speaker 1: have enjoyed being out there with the fans seeing and
- 8:44Speaker 1: knowing who they're playing for. Now, both teams selected I
- 8:48Speaker 1: think a good teams. Lourie Daly has gone for a
- 8:51Speaker 1: real attacking team, a couple of those aggressive players, Liam
- 8:55Speaker 1: Martin an aggressive inclusion into that starting team for New
- 9:00Speaker 1: South Wales. We've got boss Stock as well, making his
- 9:05Speaker 1: debut on the wing. Now. A lot of people have
- 9:08Speaker 1: been into Boss Stok, a lot of people have been
- 9:10Speaker 1: a bit disappointed that Brian to got dropped. But at
- 9:15Speaker 1: the end of the day, Bosstok's been playing some brilliant
- 9:17Speaker 1: footing for the Dolphins and super consistent since coming back
- 9:24Speaker 1: from a knee injury playing center. But we'll be playing
- 9:28Speaker 1: wing for New South Wales. We'll go out there and
- 9:30Speaker 1: do a good job. But yeah, in New South Wales,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I still don't know and understand where they're going to
- 9:38Speaker 1: attack and how they're going to play. The only thing
- 9:41Speaker 1: that I've noticed in game one in game two is
- 9:48Speaker 1: they are trying to do the high kicks and trying
- 9:52Speaker 1: to get numbers in and around the ball to hopefully
- 9:55Speaker 1: create some opportunities to get the ball back. Very very
- 9:59Speaker 1: Roosters play. If you watched the Roosters play last weekend,
- 10:04Speaker 1: against the has been Broncos a lot of high kicks
- 10:07Speaker 1: to James Tedesco, chasing down the field, hopefully getting some
- 10:10Speaker 1: rebounds off kicks and stuff like that, and then you know,
- 10:13Speaker 1: getting repeat sets and hopefully tries off the back of it.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Queensland I pretty unchanged team at the end of the day.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Jeremiah and now gets his chance as opportunity to come
- 10:27Speaker 1: into the team after only a couple of games back
- 10:30Speaker 1: I think actually only one game back. But he's been
- 10:33Speaker 1: there and done it before for Queensland. Kuli kefu fin Fuyaki.
- 10:39Speaker 1: He misses out. He debuted in Melbourne, was a part
- 10:42Speaker 1: of Camp one as a twentieth man, got to play
- 10:45Speaker 1: in Melbourne, but misses out in this decider. I'm sure
- 10:49Speaker 1: we'll see Cooley play a lot more footy in the future.
- 10:52Speaker 1: He is really built in his game at the moment,
- 10:54Speaker 1: so looking forward to seeing how this decider plays out.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Where I have and what I have noticed from Queensland
- 11:02Speaker 1: in both these games, they've had a clear and direct
- 11:07Speaker 1: game plan.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Game one they really wanted to start fast, get right
- 11:14Speaker 1: into the game, chance their arm a little bit. Game
- 11:17Speaker 1: two there was a real direct there's real direct shape
- 11:23Speaker 1: and movement to the left hand side of the Queensland team.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Knowing and understand that was two changes made on that
- 11:30Speaker 1: right hand side defensive team, so you know there was
- 11:34Speaker 1: opportunities there and then Hammer and Selwyn is absolutely carved
- 11:38Speaker 1: up on that edge. So will that happen again. I'm
- 11:41Speaker 1: sure that Billy sat down and found out and yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 1: figured out who is in and out and we'll come
- 11:51Speaker 1: up with a clear game plan. That's I think where
- 11:53Speaker 1: the biggest difference has been from the coach's point of
- 11:57Speaker 1: view is actually I've been able to see the direction
- 12:00Speaker 1: that Billy is wanting to play. This will be a
- 12:05Speaker 1: very very different New south Wales team. From Game one
- 12:08Speaker 1: to game two we saw a different New south Wales team.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Game one, New south Wales started really slow. Game two
- 12:15Speaker 1: they started fast, They got into the game, definitely gifted
- 12:18Speaker 1: a try early try assist by big Tommy Flegler, one
- 12:23Speaker 1: of the greatest knock ons I've ever seen. Good on you, Tommy.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Another inclusion actually just on the top of the head
- 12:29Speaker 1: into that Queensland team, Patti Carrigan back first game back
- 12:34Speaker 1: from injury, but Billy's going to monitor him throughout the
- 12:37Speaker 1: week just to make sure he is where he needs
- 12:40Speaker 1: to be. We'll have to do a little bit more
- 12:42Speaker 1: running stuff to make sure he's fine. But we've seen
- 12:45Speaker 1: Patty Carrigan for many years at the Broncos and for
- 12:49Speaker 1: Queensland head down, bumm up, making sure that he does
- 12:53Speaker 1: his job and he won't let Queensland down. You know.
- 12:56Speaker 1: One of the things that is in the back of
- 12:59Speaker 1: the Queensland Jersey is Queensland expects you to do your job.
- 13:05Speaker 1: And all these guys from a Queensland point of view
- 13:08Speaker 1: go there and do their job. And I wish Queensland,
- 13:12Speaker 1: Billy Slater, all the coaching staff all the best. And
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to getting to sun Corpse Aum and
- 13:18Speaker 1: watch this. It's going to be an epic decider.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Look this game, it's going to be one one for
- 13:27Speaker 4: the ages, I really do. I think there's so much
- 13:29Speaker 4: talk about it, so much hate.
- 13:32Speaker 2: From not not hate, it's just from a media from us.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Like there's a little bit that there's a lot of
- 13:41Speaker 4: like you know, back and forth.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Banter and like they're bagging their.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Own team at the moment. But I feel like that's
- 13:50Speaker 4: what the Blues do. But then they come out and
- 13:52Speaker 4: play a bloody great game of footy. So I'm expecting
- 13:55Speaker 4: a really good game.
- 13:57Speaker 2: In rugby League.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Like I'm excited. I think Tigans dragged me along. I
- 14:01Speaker 4: hate watching it out the game I want to watch
- 14:03Speaker 4: at home.
- 14:05Speaker 3: So yeah, okay, I.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Think she's you're not going to sit there with the kids.
- 14:10Speaker 4: But yeah, look I'm going and it's going to be
- 14:14Speaker 4: look the first twenty miss. Yeah, I think it's going
- 14:17Speaker 4: to be game on and I think it's going to
- 14:19Speaker 4: be the best.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Game this series.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Okay, wait where are you going to be watching this
- 14:23Speaker 4: game from? Because if I remember correctly.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I've made a terrible mistake. You Yeah, a plane that
- 14:29Speaker 3: boards I think ten minutes before kickoff from Thailand. I've
- 14:34Speaker 3: made a terrible mister. I booked it so far in advance.
- 14:36Speaker 3: I didn't think of the dates. It's not going to
- 14:39Speaker 3: have Wi fi.
- 14:39Speaker 4: I can just imagine you and like at this Thailand
- 14:42Speaker 4: in the Thailand airport, like watching your phone.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm the only one.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I'm the only one that wants to delayed flight. This
- 14:51Speaker 3: is like, come on, be delayed, have some type of problem.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Is there anything you can do? I don't think so canceled.
- 14:59Speaker 3: The best thing is for a delayed flight, So I
- 15:02Speaker 3: just have to hope that there's something wrong with.
- 15:03Speaker 2: It, just spiel at the front desk or something.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Well, that's a chance. It's Thailand, so I have oysters
- 15:10Speaker 3: for lunch.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I was going to say, like an accidentally hit the
- 15:13Speaker 4: host their host seas and then they got to get
- 15:15Speaker 4: new ones.
- 15:15Speaker 3: And something just projectile vomit on all.
- 15:19Speaker 2: The screen, all the computers.
- 15:21Speaker 4: So I can't extreme it's worth it, you don't miss it.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Maybe you should do business class WiFi.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I don't think they.
- 15:33Speaker 3: They have it. I've already researched.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Just you own seat business class and don't I.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Need to get a starlink. I need to I talk to.
- 15:41Speaker 4: What a stupid That was a bad decision, even when
- 15:44Speaker 4: my message and said I can't I'm actually probably working Origin.
- 15:49Speaker 3: That never rung should have It should have been a
- 15:52Speaker 3: clue moment. It should have been a clue that you
- 15:54Speaker 3: couldn't come.
- 15:56Speaker 2: That was the reason why I couldn't come. And I
- 15:57Speaker 2: said that, Kip, you're an idiot.
- 16:01Speaker 1: You've got to know and understand. Mate. You need to
- 16:04Speaker 1: mind like birthdays, Christmas, Easter and Origin into your calendar. Okay,
- 16:11Speaker 1: oh and Grand final Day that's it, all right, Grand
- 16:15Speaker 1: Final weekend really AFL Saturday and then ENTERL Sunday. But
- 16:19Speaker 1: Jesus please kid like you, especially with the smart one
- 16:22Speaker 1: in the group.
