- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. In our last episode, we began the story
- 0:12of Ruth. After losing her husband, Ruth made
- 0:17a brave choice. Instead of staying in her own
- 0:21country where life would be easier, she chose
- 0:25to go with Naomi and follow the God of Israel.
- 0:29Even though she didn't know what would happen,
- 0:32she trusted God and worked hard to take care
- 0:35of Naomi. Today, we'll see how God begins to
- 0:39use Ruth's faithfulness for something beautiful.
- 0:43Are you ready for the rest of this story? Let's
- 0:47jump in. Every day, Ruth went out to the fields
- 1:02to gather leftover grain so that she and Naomi
- 1:06could eat. She didn't complain. She didn't look
- 1:10for an easier way. She simply trusted that God
- 1:14would provide and he did. The field Ruth worked
- 1:18in belonged to a kind and godly man named Boaz.
- 1:22He wasn't just any landowner. He was actually
- 1:26a relative of Naomi's family. Boaz noticed Ruth
- 1:31in the field. He had heard how she left her own
- 1:35country to stay with Naomi, and how she had chosen
- 1:38to follow the God of Israel. So, Boaz treated
- 1:43Ruth with kindness and made sure she was safe
- 1:46and had enough to eat. Time passed, and harvest
- 1:51season was almost over. Naomi wanted to help
- 1:55Ruth find a safe and loving future. According
- 1:59to the customs of Israel, a close family member
- 2:03could buy back land that belonged to a relative
- 2:05and care for their family. Boaz was one of those
- 2:10close relatives. Naomi explained this to Ruth
- 2:14and told her what to do. One night, Ruth went
- 2:18to the place where Boaz was resting after working.
- 2:22She respectfully laid down near his feet. This
- 2:27was not strange in their culture, it was a gentle
- 2:30way of asking. Will you take care of me and our
- 2:34family? When Boaz discovered Ruth there, he didn't
- 2:39push her away. He understood what she was asking
- 2:43and was honored by her kindness and faithfulness.
- 2:47Boaz promised to find a way to take care of her.
- 2:51But first, he had to talk to another relative
- 2:55who was even closer to Naomi's family. The next
- 2:59day, Boaz met with the other relative. The man
- 3:03decided not to take the responsibility, so Boaz
- 3:07gladly stepped in. Boaz officially took Ruth
- 3:11as his wife and promised to care for her and
- 3:14Naomi. Later, Ruth and Boaz had a baby boy named
- 3:19Abed. Naomi held the child in her arms and cared
- 3:23for him. Abed grew up and became the grandfather
- 3:27of King David. And many years later, Jesus himself
- 3:33would be born from this same family line. God
- 3:37used the faithfulness of one ordinary woman to
- 3:40become part of his great rescue plan for the
- 3:43whole world. Isn't that amazing? Ruth didn't
- 3:52know any of this when she chose to stay with
- 3:55Naomi. She only knew that following God and loving
- 4:00others was the right thing to do. God saw her
- 4:04faithfulness and used it for something beautiful
- 4:07and much bigger than she could imagine. Have
- 4:16you ever done something kind without knowing
- 4:19how it would turn out? What does this story show
- 4:24us about how God sees faithfulness, even in small
- 4:29things? Do you believe God can use your actions
- 4:34as part of his big plan too? Thanks for joining
- 4:39me today. Next time on Wonderfully Made. we'll
- 4:44start a brand new story about a little boy named
- 4:47Samuel, who learned how to listen to God's voice
- 4:51even when he was young. Until then, remember,
- 4:55you are wonderfully made, and God is with you
- 4:59every step of the way. Bye for now.
