- 0:26Speaker 1: chuck throws it up.
- 0:27Speaker 2: For grabs and that is the second pick of the
- 0:30Speaker 2: day for byron murphy jr was right there hip to
- 0:35Speaker 2: hip with chris olave and brian flores's defense continues to
- 0:40Speaker 2: impose its will on an opponent.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah obviously that's something that uh you know we pride
- 0:45Speaker 3: ourself on being able to play in this dome and
- 0:47Speaker 3: how special it is and you know to not be
- 0:49Speaker 3: able to get it done is is really frustrating disappointing
- 0:51Speaker 3: and uh you know i think everyone feels the same
- 0:53Speaker 3: way the disappointment in it um We have to look
- 0:56Speaker 3: at this, get better, and eyes forward.
- 1:01Speaker 1: They take a lot of pride playing in the Dome.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Three and eight under Kellen Moore in the Superdome. You know,
- 1:12Speaker 1: Saints lose the Vikings 23-13. Every optimistic projection for this
- 1:22Speaker 1: team is very quickly By the way, as is confidence
- 1:32Speaker 1: in Kellen Moore and his ability to get this right.
- 1:38Speaker 1: For me, you know, I sat here a week ago
- 1:43Speaker 1: after that embarrassment on Monday Night Football. That no show,
- 1:50Speaker 1: no effort garbage against your rival football. on what was
- 1:55Speaker 1: a massive day, a monumental day for the organization, for
- 1:58Speaker 1: the city, the fan base, all of it. And you
- 2:01Speaker 1: get run out of your building by Atlanta. A total no-show.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And if that wasn't evidence enough of what this team is,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I said, just wait. Wait six days. Because now you've
- 2:19Speaker 1: got to turn around and play the Vikings. And if
- 2:21Speaker 1: you have an ounce of professional pride, you will show
- 2:24Speaker 1: up and give great effort at home against Minnesota to
- 2:27Speaker 1: bounce back after that embarrassment. And what happens? They lay
- 2:32Speaker 1: down again. This is an awful football team. They're awful,
- 2:40Speaker 1: and they're not getting better. And by the way, that
- 2:44Speaker 1: game on Sunday, the 23-13 final, could have, maybe should have,
- 2:51Speaker 1: been so much worse. Minnesota fumbled twice in the red zone. Which,
- 2:59Speaker 1: by the way, led to your only two scores. After
- 3:03Speaker 1: the first fumble that Chase Young recovered is when you
- 3:05Speaker 1: put together your first touchdown drive with Kendra Miller scored.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And then the other score was a Jonas Sanker scoop
- 3:11Speaker 1: and score. That's it. Another slow start. Again, how inexcusable
- 3:24Speaker 1: after that performance on Monday Night Football to come out
- 3:28Speaker 1: on Sunday and not be ready to play. You allow
- 3:34Speaker 1: Minnesota to get the opening kickoff drive right down the field.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They set her for a field goal. You very quickly
- 3:40Speaker 1: go three and out. First play of the game was
- 3:41Speaker 1: a loss of five on a reception by Alvin Kamara.
- 3:45Speaker 1: You give them the ball. They go on an 11-play drive.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You got bailed out. Thankfully, you got the fumble at
- 3:49Speaker 1: the end of that. But you came out not ready
- 3:52Speaker 1: to play. Trailing again at the end of the first quarter.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Just the same song and dance with this football team
- 3:59Speaker 1: under Kellen Moore. This offense is awful. And listen, my
- 4:05Speaker 1: hand is in the air. I drank the Kool-Aid like
- 4:09Speaker 1: everybody else. Not the Kool-Aid McKinstry. He still stinks. I
- 4:14Speaker 1: was right there with everybody else who believed all the
- 4:18Speaker 1: reports out of camp. I didn't put my eyes on him,
- 4:21Speaker 1: and we didn't get to see him in preseason. The
- 4:23Speaker 1: starters didn't play, but I believed every report. Man, ones-on-ones
- 4:28Speaker 1: in these joint practices, Shucks spinning dimes, Jordan Tyson's awesome,
- 4:33Speaker 1: they're running the ball, HN, they're torching these defenses. Tyler Shuck,
- 4:43Speaker 1: 16 of 25 for 96 yards and two interceptions.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Excuse me?
- 4:50Speaker 1: 16 of 25 for 96 yards? This isn't Tom Osborne's
- 4:59Speaker 1: Nebraska team in the 70s running the triple option. This
- 5:05Speaker 1: ain't Ken Niumatalolo at Navy running the triple option. This
- 5:10Speaker 1: is a National Football League game. You got a quarterback
- 5:12Speaker 1: throwing for 96 yards? Not in a quarter in the game.
- 5:17Speaker 1: The two interceptions were horrendous. The hell was he throwing
- 5:20Speaker 1: the ball in the first one? Can't run the football.
- 5:24Speaker 1: 17 rushes, 55 yards. After all of the investment that
- 5:33Speaker 1: you have made, two first-round picks at tackle, a first-round
- 5:39Speaker 1: pick at guard, second-round pick at guard, you go invest
- 5:42Speaker 1: all the money that you did, and David Edwards at
- 5:45Speaker 1: left guard, Travis Aitken, and I don't know what you're
- 5:48Speaker 1: going to say. Matt Aitken ain't there. He's hurt. Matt,
- 5:51Speaker 1: Kelvin Banks ain't there. He's hurt. You're right. They are out.
- 5:56Speaker 1: They are hurt. Well, they were there week one. And
- 5:59Speaker 1: in week one against Detroit, you ran the ball 25
- 6:04Speaker 1: times for 91 yards. Aitken had 46 yards rushing in
- 6:09Speaker 1: that game week one. You hadn't been able to run
- 6:12Speaker 1: the ball when they were there. Your defensive flaws keep
- 6:21Speaker 1: getting exposed. Aaron Jones ran for 113 yards. How about
- 6:25Speaker 1: Aaron Jones dump trucking Martin Emerson to get in the
- 6:27Speaker 1: end zone for the final touchdown? I mean, that's like
- 6:32Speaker 1: watching a varsity team play a JV team. Kyler Murray,
- 6:39Speaker 1: 24 of 30. The secondary stinks. I mean, that's, y'all
- 6:43Speaker 1: know My complaint the entire offseason, the one thing that
- 6:48Speaker 1: I complained about, and I will stand by, is they
- 6:50Speaker 1: needed to go address cornerback, and they didn't. And you
- 6:52Speaker 1: were getting abused every week because your secondary is atrocious.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Kyler Murray went 24 of 30. Kyler Murray, not Patrick Mahomes,
- 7:04Speaker 1: not John Elway, not Drew Brees. Kyler Murray went 24
- 7:07Speaker 1: of 30. 11 Vikings caught a pass.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Ha, ha, ha, ha.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I didn't know on an NFL roster on a game day,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you actually had 11 players eligible to catch a pass.
- 7:21Speaker 1: They figured it out. I'm being facetious. Spare me. Daniel Carlson, Mr. PAT. Y'all,
- 7:35Speaker 1: I could sit here and break down all the goings
- 7:39Speaker 1: on in this game. I mean, after you go in
- 7:41Speaker 1: at halftime, you're leading 7-6, you're getting the ball to
- 7:43Speaker 1: start the second half, and boom, you fumble the second
- 7:45Speaker 1: half kickoff. Justin Jefferson scores in triple coverage, you're down 13-7.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Shuck throws the awful interception. It's ballgame. I mean, after that,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you actually got the Jonas Senker scoop and score to
- 7:57Speaker 1: tie it at 13. But after that, lifeless throughout the
- 8:00Speaker 1: fourth quarter.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Just.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I don't need to recite... Every down and distance in
- 8:08Speaker 1: this football game, you watch it. Or if you're smart,
- 8:10Speaker 1: you didn't. You actually decided to do something productive with
- 8:12Speaker 1: your life. I'm not at a point through five games
- 8:19Speaker 1: where I'm going to throw dirt on the team of
- 8:21Speaker 1: the season. Now, they're not going to the playoffs, and
- 8:25Speaker 1: they're not going to achieve anything close to what I
- 8:27Speaker 1: had hoped and many thought they could, especially after the
- 8:30Speaker 1: win over Baltimore, where we thought, okay, like you were–
- 8:35Speaker 1: An overtime loss, two-point conversion away from winning at Detroit.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You beat the Ravens. We're thinking, okay. And the Saints
- 8:43Speaker 1: at that point became the betting favorite to win the division.
- 8:46Speaker 1: All they've done since is blow a double-digit lead at
- 8:48Speaker 1: home against the Raiders in the second half. No show
- 8:51Speaker 1: on Monday Night Football against the Falcons. And after that embarrassment,
- 8:54Speaker 1: didn't get off the mat and got run out of
- 8:56Speaker 1: their building by the Vikings. So maybe you should throw
- 9:00Speaker 1: dirt on them. But what I've learned doing this long
- 9:04Speaker 1: enough is is, hey, if you become so reactionary to
- 9:07Speaker 1: one thing that eventually is going to bite you in
- 9:09Speaker 1: your T-hiney, the Saints were 1-8 last year. They were
- 9:13Speaker 1: 1-8 last year. And in their final eight games, they
- 9:18Speaker 1: went 5-3 over those final eight, which made us all believe, okay, look,
- 9:23Speaker 1: they just needed to get Chuck in there, get his
- 9:25Speaker 1: feet wet. sort of expand this Kellen Moore offense. Kellen
- 9:30Speaker 1: getting more comfortable as a head coach. Now they go
- 9:32Speaker 1: into the offseason and they add Aitken and David Edwards
- 9:36Speaker 1: and Jordan Tyson and all that sort of stuff. And
- 9:39Speaker 1: the truth is, Banks and Aitken and Tyson are all
- 9:45Speaker 1: going to return. And you will be better with them.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Kelvin Banks is the first rounder. Tyson is the first rounder.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Aitken is your big $ 54 million free agent. You are objectively...
- 9:55Speaker 1: going to be better with those players than you are
- 9:58Speaker 1: without them. And they're going to come back and that'll
- 10:01Speaker 1: give you a much better sense of how things look
- 10:03Speaker 1: and project for the future but my fear at this
- 10:08Speaker 1: point that continues growing is that you got the wrong
- 10:13Speaker 1: coach that you got the wrong coach and And you
- 10:18Speaker 1: made very poor personnel decisions. And you have a GM
- 10:23Speaker 1: that doesn't know how to fix it and is in
- 10:27Speaker 1: no way at all in risk of being fired. And
- 10:31Speaker 1: so we are all collectively going to be stuck watching
- 10:36Speaker 1: this thing just trudge through the mud and mired in mediocrity.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Or worse.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Until... Mickey Loomis is gone, and you bring in someone
- 10:48Speaker 1: with a core competency and ideas of how to fix
- 10:52Speaker 1: this thing because clearly he does not have any idea how.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And I do think we're approaching the point that you
- 11:03Speaker 1: start to look at Kellen Moore and ask the questions.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'm not saying fire him today. I'm saying you're getting
- 11:11Speaker 1: to the point now where you have to start asking
- 11:13Speaker 1: the questions legitimately Is he in over his head? Does
- 11:19Speaker 1: he actually know how to fix this? Because when the
- 11:21Speaker 1: same issues keep popping up, this is two seasons now
- 11:25Speaker 1: where you cannot run the ball, despite the fact that
- 11:28Speaker 1: you've invested in the ability to run the ball. When
- 11:31Speaker 1: you continue to start slow, despite the fact that every
- 11:34Speaker 1: week he's asked a question about slow starts and has
- 11:36Speaker 1: not figured out how to fix it. When you keep
- 11:39Speaker 1: seeing the same problems recur, over and over and over again,
- 11:44Speaker 1: what it speaks to is he doesn't have the answer.
- 11:47Speaker 1: We all know what the problems are. He doesn't know
- 11:50Speaker 1: how to fix the problems. And if he can't, you
- 11:54Speaker 1: need to bring someone else in who can. He's a
- 11:57Speaker 1: nice guy. He doesn't say anything in press conferences. He
- 12:00Speaker 1: never gets high or low, all that stuff. But sometimes
- 12:04Speaker 1: a parent needs to raise their voice at their child
- 12:08Speaker 1: and he's incapable of doing it. So, It's five games.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I don't see a real optimistic point of view moving forward.
- 12:21Speaker 1: You have to go on the road to the Giants,
- 12:22Speaker 1: and then you go to Paris to play the Steelers.
- 12:26Speaker 1: You do get the Browns at home, but the Browns
- 12:28Speaker 1: may be saying, hell, we get to play the Saints.
- 12:31Speaker 1: You do get the Cardinals at home. Where else on
- 12:35Speaker 1: the schedule are you going to be favored to win
- 12:37Speaker 1: a game? Unless if you can figure out how to
- 12:41Speaker 1: run the football, I'll stop the run and how to
- 12:47Speaker 1: get off the field on defense. Like you don't have
- 12:49Speaker 1: a chance to win in this league. And it's unfortunate
- 12:54Speaker 1: because this team came with great investment and a lot
- 12:57Speaker 1: of hope for a second year under Tyler Shuck and
- 13:01Speaker 1: maybe taking a big step. And it just has not
- 13:04Speaker 1: happened as they have face planted here early in October.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Saints are one and four. And I, just don't have
- 13:13Speaker 1: an awful lot of confidence in their ability to figure
- 13:15Speaker 1: out how to get out of this. As I look
- 13:17Speaker 1: forward to the remainder of the season, what I kind
- 13:19Speaker 1: of want to see is when you get healthy, when
- 13:25Speaker 1: you get everyone back on offense, what does it look like?
- 13:29Speaker 1: Is there a reason to think you could run this back?
- 13:30Speaker 1: Because it can be really good. If not, then you're
- 13:33Speaker 1: really going to seriously look at making changes this offseason.
- 13:37Speaker 1: And defensively, please go get a cornerback. Defensively, what does
- 13:43Speaker 1: it look like now shipping Demario Davis out of town?
- 13:46Speaker 1: A guy that was always available and your most productive
- 13:49Speaker 1: defensive player. He's with the Jets, and the guy that
- 13:52Speaker 1: you brought in, the young guy you brought in to
- 13:53Speaker 1: replace him, has now missed the last two games. Incompetency
- 14:00Speaker 1: just runs rampant in this front office. It's unfortunate, man. So,
- 14:05Speaker 1: Saints lose again. It's not just losing, too. It's how
- 14:09Speaker 1: you're losing defensively. just not seeing the real effort. And
- 14:16Speaker 1: I don't mean for those just to be empty words
- 14:18Speaker 1: and insults. I just don't know how, as a professional
- 14:22Speaker 1: sports team, you could be so embarrassed on Monday Night
- 14:24Speaker 1: Football and come back at home in front of those
- 14:26Speaker 1: fans six days later and just get punked again by
- 14:32Speaker 1: Kyler Murray.
- 14:34Speaker 3: There you go.
- 14:35Speaker 1: The Kellen Moore experience. Don't worry, guys. I'm sure Mickey
- 14:40Speaker 1: Loomis will figure it out.
