- 0:18Speaker 1: Welcome to Jagsam. I'm kind Nanni Stevens, John Oser, Brian
- 0:21Speaker 1: Sexton are with me as we have our final regular
- 0:24Speaker 1: season jag XAM of the year. As we prepare for
- 0:26Speaker 1: the final game of the year. It's win and in
- 0:29Speaker 1: for the Jags as to take on the Titans in
- 0:30Speaker 1: Week eighteen. Our first big thing today is going to
- 0:33Speaker 1: be you in or out, because while it is win
- 0:35Speaker 1: or in for the team, we don't quite know yet
- 0:37Speaker 1: whether Trevor Lawrence will be playing quarterback. You miss last week.
- 0:40Speaker 1: It's first game of his career that he's missed. He's
- 0:43Speaker 1: going to try to practice this week and see how
- 0:44Speaker 1: things go.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It's feeling better.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I think certain movements bother more than others.
- 0:52Speaker 2: There's some things that I can do, and there's some
- 0:53Speaker 2: areas where I have totally normal strength and you know,
- 0:56Speaker 2: it's functional and all that, but in certain positions it
- 0:59Speaker 2: does get a little bit there's some aggravation. But that's
- 1:02Speaker 2: getting better every day, but it's still I would like
- 1:04Speaker 2: to see that go down a little bit more pri
- 1:06Speaker 2: to totally let it lose.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Brian, Trevor was limited to practice yesterday. Any inkling with
- 1:12Speaker 1: this one, this shoulder thing is a lot different than
- 1:14Speaker 1: what we've seen from him earlier.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, last week I said that I didn't
- 1:17Speaker 4: think he was going to play, and obviously he didn't,
- 1:20Speaker 4: and I was reading body language and things like that,
- 1:22Speaker 4: just a guess.
- 1:23Speaker 3: So that's all I can do this week. I'm fifty
- 1:25Speaker 3: to fifty, you know.
- 1:26Speaker 4: I mean, I think the situation sets up John for
- 1:30Speaker 4: him to try to play through it this week. But
- 1:34Speaker 4: I just, you know, I didn't get the sense watching him.
- 1:36Speaker 4: I have a much greater sense that perhaps Kirk and
- 1:38Speaker 4: Jones will be on the field after watching them on
- 1:40Speaker 4: the practice field yesterday and watching how smooth they looked.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Just not a strong gut either way.
- 1:46Speaker 5: On Trevor, you'd be stunned if Zay didn't play. Surprise
- 1:50Speaker 5: a Christian doesn't play. And I'm with you. I'm fifty
- 1:51Speaker 5: to fifty on Trevor kind of go back and forth
- 1:54Speaker 5: when I'm asked about I think the fact that he
- 1:55Speaker 5: practiced his goods. He did not practice at all last week,
- 1:58Speaker 5: and by Thursday you kind of got the feeling no way,
- 2:02Speaker 5: I don't know. I mean, it's going to come down
- 2:05Speaker 5: to how Trevor feels, and I think the other part
- 2:08Speaker 5: of it will be Doug Peterson watching him throw. When
- 2:11Speaker 5: he throws, we didn't see him throw yesterday, but when
- 2:13Speaker 5: he throws, Doug looking at it and saying, okay, we
- 2:16Speaker 5: feel like that can get us a win. But I
- 2:19Speaker 5: think they also trust that they have a formula. They
- 2:22Speaker 5: saw last week. There's a formula where you can beat
- 2:25Speaker 5: teams with C. J. Bethard, So I don't think they're
- 2:28Speaker 5: scared of that.
- 2:28Speaker 4: And how much do you weigh John the fact that
- 2:31Speaker 4: you could see a playoff game here next week and
- 2:34Speaker 4: wanting to give him one more week.
- 2:36Speaker 3: It's not guaranteed.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I mean, this is essentially a playoff game, but if
- 2:39Speaker 4: he's not quite ready, do you try.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And hold it off one more week get your chance?
- 2:44Speaker 5: Well, there's that, but I think just as heavily on
- 2:47Speaker 5: the other end of the scale, ways wouldn't you love
- 2:50Speaker 5: to get Trevor some time with Christian, some time with Zay,
- 2:55Speaker 5: get that flow going a little bit going into the postseason.
- 2:58Speaker 5: So I think there's an even balance. So I think
- 3:02Speaker 5: you throw those things out and just comes down to
- 3:05Speaker 5: can he throw effectively? Do you trust it?
- 3:08Speaker 1: It feels like there's a bit of a timeline here too,
- 3:10Speaker 1: because as we know, they like to see Trevor practice
- 3:13Speaker 1: because of the issues he's had where he doesn't practice.
- 3:15Speaker 1: So Thursday today seems like it's gonna be a big day.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Our second big thing is big game Blues. The team
- 3:21Speaker 1: has had some big games on their schedule and they
- 3:23Speaker 1: haven't really come through in some of those matchups. Now,
- 3:25Speaker 1: this one may not be big in terms of the
- 3:27Speaker 1: Titans being very talented at this point in the season,
- 3:30Speaker 1: but it's a big game because the Daguars need to
- 3:32Speaker 1: win if they want to make it into the playoffs.
- 3:34Speaker 1: And Doug Peterson addressed Di yesterday.
- 3:37Speaker 6: You're right in the sense that we haven't performed well
- 3:41Speaker 6: in the big game yet. And these are the things
- 3:45Speaker 6: that I keep stressing to our team. You know, expect
- 3:48Speaker 6: to be in big games, right, Expect to be in
- 3:50Speaker 6: these types of football games, in these types of moments
- 3:53Speaker 6: where there's a little maybe a little added pressure and
- 3:55Speaker 6: you kind of feel that pressure, and you know, we
- 4:00Speaker 6: haven't handled that extremely well this year. But you know, listen,
- 4:06Speaker 6: one thing about this team, as you guys know, they
- 4:09Speaker 6: come out and play hard when they're backs against the
- 4:11Speaker 6: wall a little bit. They seem to find comfort in that.
- 4:17Speaker 6: But you know, I'll keep I'll keep talking to them.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So he's trying. John, do you feel confident in what
- 4:25Speaker 1: we're going to see on the field on Sunday or
- 4:27Speaker 1: do you still feel like we're not really sure where
- 4:30Speaker 1: we're at with it and talks of effort and just
- 4:32Speaker 1: what kind of performance they're going to put out.
- 4:34Speaker 5: There on Yeah, I think the Panthers game came at
- 4:39Speaker 5: a good time where you could just sort of settle
- 4:42Speaker 5: things down and show the guys again, hey, if you
- 4:45Speaker 5: stop the run, if you tackle well, if you do
- 4:49Speaker 5: your job, and if you don't turn the ball over,
- 4:51Speaker 5: then that's that's our formula. And they were playing such
- 4:55Speaker 5: good teams and such weird situations for four weeks, with
- 4:59Speaker 5: Trevor being hear, with Christian being out. I don't think
- 5:03Speaker 5: you mean to get away from it. But then maybe
- 5:05Speaker 5: once everything starts getting real, you get away from it
- 5:07Speaker 5: a little bit. So yeah, I don't think you'll see
- 5:12Speaker 5: a repeat of Christmas Eve, where frankly, the effort didn't
- 5:16Speaker 5: look great, the urgency didn't look great. I don't think
- 5:18Speaker 5: you'll see that. I expect them to win because they
- 5:21Speaker 5: match up well against the Titans, and if they play
- 5:23Speaker 5: this quote simple kind of game. Then I think they
- 5:29Speaker 5: pull away from them because they're better. So I think
- 5:30Speaker 5: we will see.
- 5:31Speaker 3: The effort, you know. I think this is the growth
- 5:33Speaker 3: area for this team going forward. Khy.
- 5:34Speaker 4: You look at the Chiefs game, the Niners, the Ravens,
- 5:39Speaker 4: the Bengals, and the Bills. Those are the five games
- 5:42Speaker 4: that everyone looked at and said, hey, the NFL laid
- 5:44Speaker 4: these out for us. These are those line in the
- 5:46Speaker 4: sand games. Are we going to cross it? And they didn't.
- 5:49Speaker 4: They only beat the Bills in Buffalo, and against the
- 5:51Speaker 4: Chiefs didn't play well at all. And against the Niners,
- 5:54Speaker 4: neither side of the ball played well at all. It's
- 5:55Speaker 4: just the big games this year were not big games
- 5:58Speaker 4: except for Buffalo for this football team. And that's where
- 6:02Speaker 4: they've got to get to where they play the best
- 6:05Speaker 4: and they play their best against the best, consistently powerful football,
- 6:10Speaker 4: and they haven't done it. So this is an important
- 6:13Speaker 4: game against the power team. In other words, they're going
- 6:15Speaker 4: to run the ball, so we'll see if they're ready
- 6:17Speaker 4: to stop the run.
- 6:19Speaker 1: This game is certainly going to prove a lot, so
- 6:20Speaker 1: we'll look forward to that. We'll talk a little bit
- 6:23Speaker 1: more about that matchup but our final big thing today
- 6:25Speaker 1: is help is on the way. We talked a little
- 6:27Speaker 1: bit about Jay Jones getting closer to returning, but Christian Kirk,
- 6:29Speaker 1: just a month after undergoing surgery, are you back on
- 6:32Speaker 1: the practice field? And he said, even himself, he's impressed
- 6:35Speaker 1: is what he's been able to do.
- 6:38Speaker 7: Honestly, the fact that I'm staying here in front of
- 6:40Speaker 7: you guys today in cleats, being able to go out
- 6:43Speaker 7: on the practice field is still kind of surreal to me.
- 6:48Speaker 7: But I've been working tirelessly every single day, been in
- 6:51Speaker 7: here sometimes the last person to leave, just doing everything
- 6:55Speaker 7: that I can to get back as fast as I
- 6:56Speaker 7: can because I want to be available. I want to help,
- 7:00Speaker 7: you know, bring this team where we all want to go.
- 7:02Speaker 7: So it's it's taking a lot of work, and I'm
- 7:05Speaker 7: really happy with where I'm at.
- 7:09Speaker 1: John Christian was describing his injury a little bit yesterday,
- 7:11Speaker 1: and I thought when he went under red surgery, weren't
- 7:14Speaker 1: going to see him if anything, maybe late, if they
- 7:15Speaker 1: made some kind of crazy playoff run. But to think
- 7:18Speaker 1: he's back out there after a month is impressive.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's remarkable, and you know, it's it's funny
- 7:26Speaker 5: with Christian fifteen eighteen months ago, the narrative outside the
- 7:31Speaker 5: building was how could you pay him that much? Now
- 7:34Speaker 5: it's he's worth everything you could possibly pay him to
- 7:37Speaker 5: this scene because you've seen what he means and there's
- 7:40Speaker 5: this joy and hope of getting him back, and with reason.
- 7:44Speaker 5: I mean, they've got a chance to get into the
- 7:47Speaker 5: postseason with Christian, Zay, Evan, Ridley, ETN. That's their group,
- 7:54Speaker 5: you know, and with Christian coming back, he's the most
- 7:58Speaker 5: important of that group to me. And it's not a
- 8:00Speaker 5: knock on Evan, it's not a knock on Travis's ATN.
- 8:03Speaker 5: But when Christian's in the game, there's a trust that
- 8:06Speaker 5: Trevor Lawrence has with him that feels different. It hasn't
- 8:12Speaker 5: felt that way since he twisted around and got that
- 8:15Speaker 5: long pass against Cincinnati. It's felt like a struggle since then.
- 8:18Speaker 5: They need him back, you know.
- 8:19Speaker 4: He is a great pro right you can see why
- 8:21Speaker 4: they pay him for his performance on the field and
- 8:23Speaker 4: the way that he approaches the game. I asked him
- 8:25Speaker 4: yesterday about you know what drove you through the rehab.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Was it knowing that.
- 8:29Speaker 4: You could get back in four weeks or that perhaps
- 8:31Speaker 4: you could get back to the playoffs, and he said
- 8:33Speaker 4: what drove me was watching my teammates struggle and wanting
- 8:36Speaker 4: to do something to help pay off all the work
- 8:39Speaker 4: that we put in in the offseason and to be
- 8:41Speaker 4: there for them. I can't say enough about what a
- 8:45Speaker 4: pro Kirk is and whether it's Trevor Kai or whether
- 8:50Speaker 4: it's CJ. Bethard, I think both of them could be
- 8:52Speaker 4: effective on Sunday in Nashville because of number thirteen on
- 8:56Speaker 4: the field.
- 8:56Speaker 1: It will be a huge benefit whenever he gets back
- 8:58Speaker 1: on the field, hopefully for the regular season finale. Say
- 9:01Speaker 1: with us here on jag Zam, we'll go deep dive
- 9:03Speaker 1: into that Titans matchup this Sunday, coming up after the break.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Welcome back to jag Zam, presented by Field's Auto Group
- 9:25Speaker 1: of Jackson Bill. You can step up to luxury at
- 9:27Speaker 1: Fieldsauto dot com. Welcome back in.
- 9:30Speaker 3: As I mentioned, it sucks, losing.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Awful.
- 9:38Speaker 8: That's why I want to win, because you don't sleep.
- 9:44Speaker 8: You want to win for the players and Buster Tail.
- 9:47Speaker 8: That's it, you know, I mean, it's not about Hey,
- 9:51Speaker 8: we'll go into the offseason with a good note. Nobody
- 9:55Speaker 8: knows what you did on January seventh, or eighth or
- 9:58Speaker 8: sixth and April when you come back.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I heard from Doug yesterday I said winning was fun,
- 10:07Speaker 1: and Mike Rabel says losing sucks. So some wise words
- 10:11Speaker 1: from our coaches for the matchup on Sunday. Mike Rabel's
- 10:14Speaker 1: so interesting the way he's taken to coaching. Right, He's
- 10:18Speaker 1: just taken all of that energy he had as a
- 10:20Speaker 1: football player and turned into a coaching style. And he's
- 10:24Speaker 1: really gotten the most out of his players, including this
- 10:25Speaker 1: year with a team that hasn't been great, but what
- 10:27Speaker 1: he's been able to do.
- 10:28Speaker 4: But two years ago, he was the AP Coach of
- 10:30Speaker 4: the Year, right, I mean he won two division titles
- 10:33Speaker 4: and had three winning seasons.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I mean he's he's a.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Really good football coach and I hear he's a really
- 10:38Speaker 4: good guy. They like him up there, and he said
- 10:40Speaker 4: yesterday that he wanted to be back. I can't imagine
- 10:43Speaker 4: why they wouldn't want him back.
- 10:44Speaker 5: Yeah, they always know how they want to play, and
- 10:50Speaker 5: not every team does. Under Vrabel that they know exactly
- 10:54Speaker 5: how they want to play. They played to it. It's
- 10:56Speaker 5: why they're always dangerous. It's why they're dangerous. On Sunday,
- 11:00Speaker 5: there's rumors about Rabel and New England. There's all those things,
- 11:03Speaker 5: you know, and that makes sense. I don't know, I
- 11:08Speaker 5: don't My gud tells me this is not as his
- 11:11Speaker 5: last game up there, but I wouldn't mind have him
- 11:16Speaker 5: out of the division.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Well, and they have a new general manager of Ryan Carthon,
- 11:19Speaker 4: who might want to do things his own way, so
- 11:21Speaker 4: perhaps it might make sense for him to go to.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I think the only way he leaves is if he
- 11:26Speaker 1: gets wooed somewhere else, which is what that would be.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Rabel did talk a little bit yesterday. He calmed down,
- 11:31Speaker 1: apologized for that comment. He's saying, I just, you know,
- 11:33Speaker 1: I get a little competitive sometimes, not no offense to anybody,
- 11:36Speaker 1: but completely understandable. He hates to lose. But he talked
- 11:39Speaker 1: a little bit about going into a game like this
- 11:41Speaker 1: where maybe you don't have anything to play for online technically,
- 11:44Speaker 1: but what his team is going to be motivated by.
- 11:48Speaker 8: We want to finish strong. You know, we can. We
- 11:51Speaker 8: can finish this thing the right way.
- 11:53Speaker 3: You know, we can.
- 11:53Speaker 8: Finish it, you know, with a lot of class, and
- 11:57Speaker 8: we can also you know, get get a huge win
- 12:01Speaker 8: and also you know, potentially, you know, I think it
- 12:06Speaker 8: would just be critical to get a home win here
- 12:08Speaker 8: to finish the season in the division against a team
- 12:12Speaker 8: that kept us from the playoffs last year last year,
- 12:15Speaker 8: So that's what we're trying to do.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Finishing strong, finishing with class. But as you mentioned, against
- 12:20Speaker 1: a team that ended their season last year, So that's
- 12:23Speaker 1: definitely on the mind. I'm sure that's mentioned.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I am sure it is.
- 12:26Speaker 4: And you know he has got a football team, as
- 12:29Speaker 4: John mentioned that, he has a certain style of play,
- 12:32Speaker 4: and he's going to look for everybody who's on the
- 12:34Speaker 4: field on Sunday to earn their right to come back
- 12:36Speaker 4: next year based on their effort. If you don't have
- 12:40Speaker 4: the wherewithal as a professional football player, even in what
- 12:44Speaker 4: is called a meaningless game, to play your best, then
- 12:47Speaker 4: I wouldn't want you on my team.
- 12:49Speaker 3: No coach would.
- 12:50Speaker 5: Yeah, this is the old thing where a team in
- 12:53Speaker 5: it is playing a team out of it historically, and
- 12:57Speaker 5: I've always believed that the team that's in it needs
- 13:00Speaker 5: to get up in that game and make them play
- 13:03Speaker 5: like individuals more than a team. Meaning. I don't believe
- 13:06Speaker 5: players really quit, but sometimes when teams are out of it,
- 13:10Speaker 5: you can get them not playing their game at the
- 13:13Speaker 5: end of the season. And to me, that's the Jaguars
- 13:16Speaker 5: task this week. Make sure you play and get ahead
- 13:20Speaker 5: and give them that feeling of Hey, the cars are
- 13:23Speaker 5: in the parking lot, it's time to go home.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Well, then this game, in particular, if you get ahead,
- 13:27Speaker 4: the numbers say that they don't play their style right.
- 13:30Speaker 4: The Jags built a twenty seven to dozing lead in
- 13:32Speaker 4: the game here in November, and they didn't run Derrick
- 13:35Speaker 4: Henry but ten times.
- 13:37Speaker 3: And I think I offered this yesterday.
- 13:38Speaker 4: But in games in that he's carried the ball seventeen
- 13:41Speaker 4: times or fewer, he only averages thirty seven yards a game,
- 13:44Speaker 4: now eighteen or more, it's one hundred and fourteen. You
- 13:47Speaker 4: give Derrick Henry a chance to get one hundred and
- 13:49Speaker 4: fourteen yards on you, then you give them a good
- 13:52Speaker 4: chance to win. So you got to build a lead
- 13:54Speaker 4: and take their style of play away from them.
- 13:56Speaker 5: And something that would be I guess sting dust Brian's
- 14:00Speaker 5: We've been around forever. I think fans feel this too.
- 14:05Speaker 5: It's a chance to beat this franchise four times in
- 14:07Speaker 5: a row for the first time since the nineties. It's
- 14:09Speaker 5: a chance to clinch divisions two years in a row
- 14:13Speaker 5: against this team. I don't think about that that much
- 14:18Speaker 5: because I try to analyze the game sort of objectively,
- 14:22Speaker 5: if you will. But there are fans who would love that,
- 14:26Speaker 5: and this is the team the Jaguars hate. To establish
- 14:31Speaker 5: some dominance over that franchise and sort of turn that
- 14:35Speaker 5: tide and feel better. That'd be cool, That would be cool.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I don't think Jem's ever beaten them four times in
- 14:39Speaker 3: a row.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Well, they beat this franchise four times around the nineties.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I can't recall it. I just did you do the
- 14:46Speaker 3: math on it?
- 14:47Speaker 5: Well, because they lost tho times in ninety eight or
- 14:49Speaker 5: ninety nine, from ninety six to ninety eight.
- 14:52Speaker 3: They lost. They lost here in ninety six.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Anyway, we'll fact check it.
- 14:58Speaker 3: That has notten very often.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Well, fact that's what we're here for. We do want
- 15:03Speaker 1: to mention this is a turning of the tide for
- 15:05Speaker 1: that team. Right, So this most likely Ryan Tannehill and
- 15:08Speaker 1: Derek Henry's probably last game with this franchise. And that's
- 15:12Speaker 1: something Ryan Tannehill is not fully reflecting on yet. But
- 15:15Speaker 1: just he talked a little bit yesterday about the trying
- 15:17Speaker 1: season that this has been since he's been benched for
- 15:19Speaker 1: Will Levis and what he's kind of gone through to
- 15:21Speaker 1: be a good teammate.
- 15:23Speaker 9: I've tried to keep my head up and you know,
- 15:27Speaker 9: focus on the cards that they're handing me. You know,
- 15:30Speaker 9: some things are out of control and you can't help that,
- 15:33Speaker 9: but you can help you how you come to work,
- 15:36Speaker 9: how you respond, the attitude you bring into work. You know,
- 15:39Speaker 9: it was a lot of days where you know, I
- 15:41Speaker 9: didn't really want to come in and have a smile
- 15:43Speaker 9: on my face and try to help or or get
- 15:46Speaker 9: myself ready to go. But you know, I knew that
- 15:48Speaker 9: I was the best thing for my teammates, and I'm
- 15:50Speaker 9: not gonna throw a pity party for myself.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Brian. It's been a changing of the guard there because
- 15:55Speaker 1: it's not like they completely bottomed out. They had a
- 15:58Speaker 1: lot of injuries last year and then now they drafted Levis.
- 16:00Speaker 1: They want to go with that now and so they're
- 16:02Speaker 1: getting rid of some of the players that they've had
- 16:04Speaker 1: for a long time, and it's kind of a change
- 16:07Speaker 1: without completely bottoming out, right, it's not like a complete rebuild,
- 16:10Speaker 1: but they're trying to rebuild. Well, they're trying to a
- 16:12Speaker 1: little bit.
- 16:13Speaker 4: And they are having to change their style of play
- 16:14Speaker 4: because if Derrick Henry is playing in his final game,
- 16:17Speaker 4: you're not going to be that ground and pound kind
- 16:19Speaker 4: of team that they have been. You know, Tannehill left
- 16:23Speaker 4: Miami in free agency and went to Tennessee in twenty nineteen,
- 16:27Speaker 4: and he had to consider a first round bust. He
- 16:29Speaker 4: had never done anything in Miami, but paired with Derrick
- 16:32Speaker 4: Henry and the power of play action when number twenty
- 16:35Speaker 4: two is slamming into the line of scrimmage. I mean
- 16:37Speaker 4: it gave him a couple of Pro Bowls and a
- 16:39Speaker 4: shot at a AFC championship.
- 16:41Speaker 3: So he's been a big part of what they've done.
- 16:43Speaker 4: And if I have any fear concern, worry, it's that
- 16:48Speaker 4: he and Derrick Henry play their best game in what's
- 16:51Speaker 4: their final game in Nashville and give these Jags and run.
- 16:55Speaker 3: For their money.
- 16:56Speaker 1: What was the difference when in your mind, John obviously
- 16:59Speaker 1: Derek Henay he's a game changer, but Ryan Tannell gave
- 17:01Speaker 1: them a little bit of stability at the time when
- 17:03Speaker 1: they were trying to like kind of figure things out
- 17:05Speaker 1: in terms of rebel going there.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Well, he played really well for a couple of years
- 17:08Speaker 5: and as Brian said it you there's different games, they
- 17:14Speaker 5: play out different ways, but overall he played very well
- 17:19Speaker 5: because teams had to stop Derrick Henry, and then when
- 17:22Speaker 5: Tannehill had a chance to beat them downfield, he could
- 17:25Speaker 5: make plays against the defenses that were drawn up stop
- 17:29Speaker 5: Derrick Henry. I think Brian said at best it was complimentary.
- 17:33Speaker 5: It was based on Henry and they needed a quarterback
- 17:36Speaker 5: who could be good enough to supplement that. He was
- 17:39Speaker 5: never a star. I don't think he was necessarily a
- 17:41Speaker 5: pro bowler or an elite guy, but there were games
- 17:44Speaker 5: where he played elite. When defenses rose to stop Derrick Henry.
- 17:48Speaker 5: He was more than good enough to have three hundred
- 17:51Speaker 5: yard games, multiple touchdown games, and they were a tick
- 17:57Speaker 5: or two away from win an AFC championships for a couple
- 18:00Speaker 5: of years with that formula. So it worked as long
- 18:03Speaker 5: as their offensive line was really, really good, and for
- 18:06Speaker 5: a while they were as good as any offensive line
- 18:08Speaker 5: in the league, just short of a couple of teams.
- 18:10Speaker 5: This year they're not, So that's really the biggest reason
- 18:13Speaker 5: for the fall of the last couple of years is
- 18:14Speaker 5: their line.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You can't underestimate teams playing for pride because I imagine
- 18:18Speaker 1: both of them are going to want to go out
- 18:19Speaker 1: on a high note as well, if in if indeed
- 18:22Speaker 1: this is their last game they're in Tennessee. All right,
- 18:24Speaker 1: stay well us, we're going to talk over some of
- 18:25Speaker 1: the game changers we see for Sunday's matchup against the Titans.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Sudata Lords, Trusted and Reliable Moving Company said it's proud
- 18:45Speaker 1: to be the official moving partner of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 18:48Speaker 1: To get a guaranteed quote, visit sutte dot com slash

- 18:55Speaker 3: I have to give it to him.
- 18:56Speaker 1: He was right, This is right, right, right six and
- 19:01Speaker 1: the final show of the right.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Oh, I've forgotten about I've forgotten about again. They swept
- 19:08Speaker 4: him in ninety seven.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I'd forgotten that, so I usually do.
- 19:11Speaker 5: I'm speechless.
- 19:13Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about this final game of the
- 19:16Speaker 1: regular season against the Titans. I hope it's as I
- 19:20Speaker 1: hope it lives up to the building. I hope it's
- 19:21Speaker 1: everything we want it to be. And I hope this
- 19:23Speaker 1: team really goes into the playoffs, earns their spot, and
- 19:26Speaker 1: uses this momentum going forward. It's going to take a
- 19:29Speaker 1: big effort from the whole team, really special teams. We
- 19:32Speaker 1: know this team is best when they play complimentary football.
- 19:35Speaker 1: So who's a name, who's particular, who you looking at
- 19:37Speaker 1: that's going to be a game record.
- 19:40Speaker 4: I'm going with Evan Ingram because and I'm making the
- 19:43Speaker 4: assumption that we will see Kirk and Jones on the field.
- 19:46Speaker 4: And last year Evan Ingram had a huge day two touchdowns,
- 19:48Speaker 4: one hundred and sixty yards, eleven catches uh in Nashville,
- 19:52Speaker 4: and I just think he's primed playing so well right now.
- 19:55Speaker 3: If it's CJ.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Betherty already has and established rhythm with them. Trevor is
- 20:01Speaker 4: same thing. I think Evan is playing at an epic page.
- 20:04Speaker 4: I'd love to see him get twelve or thirteen and
- 20:07Speaker 4: maybe set the franchise record for a single season for catches,
- 20:10Speaker 4: which is one hundred and sixteen. But I'll take a
- 20:12Speaker 4: big game that gets him.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Into the playoffs.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Yeah, when you look back, sometimes you don't see things immediately.
- 20:19Speaker 5: And had a huge game against Tennessee and the Shaq
- 20:23Speaker 5: Quorterman play turned that game. But the ability to depend
- 20:28Speaker 5: on Evan in that game enabled the Jaguars to get
- 20:32Speaker 5: out of an early hole and be the dominant team
- 20:35Speaker 5: in that game by the second half, and it really
- 20:39Speaker 5: sort of gave the Jaguars the confidence to move on
- 20:42Speaker 5: that season. So that was a huge performance. I went
- 20:44Speaker 5: with Christian Kirk. He will I think he will play,
- 20:48Speaker 5: and he won't be at one hundred percent, but I
- 20:53Speaker 5: don't know that he has to be. I think he'll
- 20:55Speaker 5: be managing the injury a little bit because he had
- 20:57Speaker 5: to be smart. But as I said earlier in the show,
- 21:00Speaker 5: than with Christian, he might this year be the key
- 21:03Speaker 5: to the whole thing if you can get him back.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Just think about the number of this offense hasn't been
- 21:11Speaker 5: what you expected to be this year, but when it's
- 21:16Speaker 5: been really good, he's been really important to play against
- 21:20Speaker 5: the game winner against the Saints, the Colts touchdown where
- 21:27Speaker 5: Trevor checked to him. There's been some moments and he
- 21:31Speaker 5: comes up, even though he's not a quote big play receiver, supposedly,
- 21:36Speaker 5: he comes up with big plays downfield and Trevor trust
- 21:38Speaker 5: him downfield. So he might be the key to the
- 21:40Speaker 5: whole thing moving forward.
- 21:41Speaker 4: And you know, you talk about getting some guys back,
- 21:43Speaker 4: Kirk in particular, maybe he's a Jones what if you
- 21:45Speaker 4: get Ezra Cleveland back there with Cam Robinson, they haven't
- 21:48Speaker 4: had much time together, and it's clear that Cleveland is
- 21:50Speaker 4: your best option at left guard. What if he's able
- 21:53Speaker 4: to play into the playoffs with Cam next to him,
- 21:56Speaker 4: and Kirk and Jones and Trevor. Yeah, there's there's some
- 22:00Speaker 4: momentum you could build.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Yeah, and weirder things have happened. Bucky Brooks keeps saying it,
- 22:06Speaker 5: and he's right. This AFC. I get the Baltimore's good.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Beyond that, I keep hearing all this stuff about, Oh,
- 22:14Speaker 5: Cleveland's so much better. Cleveland might be the second best
- 22:18Speaker 5: team in the AFC. Jaguars gave away so many opportunities
- 22:22Speaker 5: in that game. You're telling me they couldn't beat the Browns.
- 22:24Speaker 5: They couldn't be you know, I'm saying they'd be favored.
- 22:26Speaker 5: But you get in this year and you got a shot.
- 22:31Speaker 4: We can get some of those guys back, and you
- 22:32Speaker 4: play the Browns at home. Well, I like their chances.
- 22:35Speaker 4: And they turned the ball over four times and had
- 22:37Speaker 4: a quarterback on an ankle that didn't look like he
- 22:39Speaker 4: could walk, let alone play as he left the field
- 22:42Speaker 4: after that Bengals game, No, I like their chances against
- 22:44Speaker 4: the Browns. The Browns are a powerful team in terms
- 22:47Speaker 4: of their defense, But I take that no sweat you.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Know I'm doing right now. I'm reeling in until we
- 22:53Speaker 5: get this one on Sunday.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm just saying, you get in go.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Really, Judgs.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Yes, it's still funny to me. I'm going defense because
- 23:06Speaker 1: as much as we watch the offense to come along
- 23:08Speaker 1: we've been talking about all year long, defense has has
- 23:10Speaker 1: far exceeded any expectations that I may have had for them.
- 23:13Speaker 1: So I'm going with Josh Allen because big game, go
- 23:15Speaker 1: with your big players. He will will this team into
- 23:18Speaker 1: the playoffs. He got back on track last week, and
- 23:21Speaker 1: he's not gonna do it alone. He won't do it alone.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Trayvon and Josh are gonna do that meat at the
- 23:26Speaker 1: quarterback game that they got going against the Panthers last week,
- 23:29Speaker 1: and they're gonna continue doing that and in the process,
- 23:31Speaker 1: Josh Allen, they end up being your sack leader this year,
- 23:33Speaker 1: which is funny for a lot of people that thought
- 23:36Speaker 1: they couldn't sack the quarterbacks. So for them to have
- 23:39Speaker 1: the highest combo of two players with sacks this year
- 23:41Speaker 1: between Trayvon Walker and Josh Allen. I think they've I
- 23:44Speaker 1: don't know if they've silenced anybody, but I've been impressed
- 23:47Speaker 1: with what they've been able to do. And I don't
- 23:48Speaker 1: want to know what this team would look like if
- 23:49Speaker 1: if they weren't as productive as they've been so far
- 23:52Speaker 1: this season.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Number one in the NFL as a tandem, right, twenty
- 23:54Speaker 3: five and a half sacks.
- 23:56Speaker 5: I'll take it really good.
- 23:58Speaker 1: All right? This is our final Jagsam with the regular season,
- 24:00Speaker 1: hopefully many more to come in the postseason. You will
- 24:03Speaker 1: see you next week after the final regular season finale.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Enjoy the game, DAGs fans. If you want customiz Daguars

- 24:31Speaker 1: because it's furniture for fans. Welcome back and tried to
- 24:36Speaker 1: get rid of you guys early. I apologize clearly I'm
- 24:40Speaker 1: upset about this being the final jag Exam of the
- 24:43Speaker 1: regular season. I did, but you'll be on Monday though.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Right we are.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I'm a regular season because next week will we playoff weeks.
- 24:51Speaker 1: The way you think is obviously where I was going.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Let's take a moment and talk about Pro bowlers on
- 24:56Speaker 1: this team, because we did have that announcement yesterday. We
- 24:59Speaker 1: love the long snapper mentioned Ross Mattison. It was the
- 25:02Speaker 1: long snapper for the Pro Bowl games. And of course
- 25:04Speaker 1: Josh Allen, as I mentioned, having a career year. So
- 25:07Speaker 1: it's a second Pro Bowl I believe crap. So obviously
- 25:11Speaker 1: some other people we probably thought should have made the cut.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Well, Evan Ingram, right, I mean, eighth tight end in
- 25:16Speaker 4: NFL history to go over one hundred receptions.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Yes, I mean yes, that sounds crazy, but I think touchdowns.
- 25:23Speaker 5: Heard Evan in the voting, I think you should have
- 25:26Speaker 5: made it. I think it's strong argument could have could
- 25:29Speaker 5: have been made for Travis CTN. And I think if
- 25:32Speaker 5: people had really broken down Travis and seen how much
- 25:36Speaker 5: the Jaguars offensive line struggled in front of him at
- 25:39Speaker 5: times to have the year that he's having pretty impressive
- 25:43Speaker 5: eleven twelve touchdowns, So credit to him and other guys.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Brian well, as you say, maybe we'll you know, we
- 25:50Speaker 4: haven't seen the alternate list. I mean, maybe these guys
- 25:52Speaker 4: will get some recognition on that. Darius Williams was one
- 25:55Speaker 4: of the leaders all season long in terms of passes
- 25:58Speaker 4: broken up, I mean he might get some too, and.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Your guy for you know. So, yeah, there were a
- 26:06Speaker 5: lot of a lot of deserving guys. I think they'd
- 26:09Speaker 5: have had more, honestly.
- 26:11Speaker 1: The swoon, the losing straight definitely when.
- 26:14Speaker 5: They were on Prime time twice, I think that probably unfairly,
- 26:19Speaker 5: but it's not a fair system. Probably cost them some
- 26:22Speaker 5: momentum with some guys who I think got close. And
- 26:27Speaker 5: sometimes the voting process is where the fans are part
- 26:32Speaker 5: of it. The players vote for it, which I get,
- 26:34Speaker 5: but a lot of times players their votes are very
- 26:38Speaker 5: they get in kind of groups in there. You know.
- 26:42Speaker 5: I wish there was a better system for the Pro Bowl,
- 26:44Speaker 5: but I don't know that there is a better one.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Well we'll see. I think some of the alternate names
- 26:49Speaker 1: will come out a little bit later, so hopefully some
- 26:51Speaker 1: more Jaguars will be involved in that. And now for real,
- 26:55Speaker 1: this is the end of our show. We hope you
- 26:56Speaker 1: enjoyed them. Sure, I think I'm right this time. Enjoy
- 27:00Speaker 1: the Titans game. We'll see you next week. You're in
- 27:02Speaker 1: Taxam
