- 0:00Speaker 1: 9 till noon weekday.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Smart Simone.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Only on 710WOR. Hey, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is
- 0:13Speaker 1: the number. Let's go to Tom in Jupiter, Florida. Tom,
- 0:16Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:19Speaker 3: How are you, Mark?
- 0:21Speaker 1: No, you're in Jupiter. That's the Palm Beaches now. How
- 0:25Speaker 1: are you?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Hello.
- 0:26Speaker 1: So all the other people had to flee to Jupiter.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You don't hear that in Jupiter, do you?
- 0:32Speaker 3: No, not too much. No, it's still kind of bucolic there.
- 0:36Speaker 1: If you know what I mean. Yes, if you're in Jupiter,
- 0:38Speaker 1: somebody will say, hello, how are you? If you're in
- 0:40Speaker 1: Palm Beach, how are you? That's right.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Hey, Mark, the reason I'm calling is my friend is
- 0:51Speaker 3: second in the Republican Party in Nassau County. And I
- 0:54Speaker 3: stressed to him the other day, and I don't know
- 0:56Speaker 3: how many people know this, but since Cuomo closed that
- 1:01Speaker 3: power plant in Indian Point, whatever it was, you know
- 1:06Speaker 3: that the state of New York, and it's almost completed now,
- 1:09Speaker 3: the state of New York paid $ 1. 3 billion to build
- 1:14Speaker 3: a pipeline from Canada to the New York City line,
- 1:18Speaker 3: which affected everybody's rates. I mean, it's insane. That should
- 1:25Speaker 3: be his focus.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Well, that was the focus last night. But as we
- 1:29Speaker 1: always say, Cuomo closed Indian Point. That's 25% of our electricity, 25%
- 1:36Speaker 1: of our power. Cuomo shut it down for absolutely no
- 1:40Speaker 1: reason at all. And Hochul continues the policy. Let's go
- 1:45Speaker 1: to Eric in Connecticut. Eric, how are you doing?
- 1:47Speaker 4: Hi, Mark.
- 1:49Speaker 5: How are you?
- 1:50Speaker 4: Good. I'm glad to get on the radio the first
- 1:55Speaker 4: time I called you.
- 1:56Speaker 1: We can tell.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 4: And I'm more of a comment. I appreciate what, like,
- 2:05Speaker 4: Steve Moore says and what you guys are saying. Yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 4: And I'm definitely all on board with Trump.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But what's the but?
- 2:12Speaker 4: So.
- 2:16Speaker 4: With all these robots building houses or the thought that
- 2:20Speaker 4: that and how this mass automation is going to be great.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 4: And the only thing is that people will have to
- 2:29Speaker 4: learn a new job. Well, that's sort of what was
- 2:32Speaker 4: said in the 80s when they shipped all our manufacturing overseas.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And that's a good point. Yeah. We go through this
- 2:41Speaker 1: a lot. You know, industrial revolution. Put a lot of
- 2:45Speaker 1: people out of work. They had to use new jobs.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Digital revolution, 1999, 2000. A lot of people put out
- 2:50Speaker 1: of work. They had to learn new jobs. And you're right.
- 2:52Speaker 1: When we shipped all the manufacturing away, closed all the factories, yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: What did Trump call it? Carnage. The carnage. They just
- 3:01Speaker 1: shut down the factories all over America. Put a lot
- 3:04Speaker 1: of people out of work. Let's go to John in Ronkonkomo. John,
- 3:08Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Hey, good, Mark. Thanks for taking the call.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Hey, don't you wish guys like Harry Styles would do
- 3:15Speaker 3: some research if they're going to take up an issue
- 3:18Speaker 3: like Oscar?
- 3:18Speaker 4: What do you think he saw like that.
- 3:21Speaker 1: In the airport at CNN? Yeah, if you're Harry Styles,
- 3:25Speaker 1: you're just going to watch CNN and MSNOW, and you're
- 3:28Speaker 1: going to believe this poor guy was gunned down in
- 3:30Speaker 1: the street. They never mentioned he's a gang member, career criminal.
- 3:34Speaker 1: He took his car and tried to run over the
- 3:36Speaker 1: cops with it. They fired when he tried to run
- 3:38Speaker 1: them down with his car. They never tell you that part.
- 3:41Speaker 1: That's the problem with fake news. They give you half
- 3:44Speaker 1: the story. That should be their motto. MS Now, half
- 3:48Speaker 1: the story. Our half of it. Let's go to Peter
- 3:51Speaker 1: and Beth Page. Peter, how you doing? Hey, Mark.
- 3:54Speaker 2: How are you?
- 3:55Speaker 4: Good.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I just, you know, I'm troubled by the Republicans.
- 4:00Speaker 2: They never talk about the big, beautiful bill and how,
- 4:05Speaker 2: especially New York, right, has gained so much from it. Like,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I'll calculate. I'm not an accountant, by the way. You
- 4:12Speaker 2: sound like an accountant. If you break it down, right,
- 4:17Speaker 2: a modest New York middle-class family, right, with a home
- 4:23Speaker 2: in Westchester or Nassau County, they're getting back, not deducted,
- 4:28Speaker 2: but back about $ 23, 000 in tax savings, right? I mean,
- 4:35Speaker 2: any cop fireman that makes $ 25, 000 in overtime, That's $ 5, 500
- 4:41Speaker 2: back in their pocket.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. They've got to make more of that
- 4:46Speaker 1: because wages are up. Wages are up. Taxes are down. Federal.
- 4:51Speaker 1: You can't do anything if you're Trump about the New
- 4:55Speaker 1: York State taxes. But, yeah, average income is up. Wages
- 4:58Speaker 1: are up. All that stuff is up. Let's go to
- 5:01Speaker 1: Bill in Massapequa. Bill, how are you doing?
- 5:06Speaker 6: Good, Mark.
- 5:06Speaker 4: How are you?
- 5:07Speaker 3: Good.
- 5:09Speaker 6: I'm calling about, nobody's talking about the Speaker of the Assembly.
- 5:15Speaker 6: He went to South America.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Carl Hastie? We've talked about it for three days here.
- 5:22Speaker 6: Oh, you did? I missed it then. But anyway, his roommate.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. We've covered the story. People always call you,
- 5:30Speaker 1: how come nobody ever reports that... Well, they do. That's
- 5:33Speaker 1: how you knew about it. Yeah, Carl Hastie was seen
- 5:36Speaker 1: in some... splashy vacation in rio with a guy who
- 5:41Speaker 1: had been his roommate years ago they're pretty close and
- 5:44Speaker 1: the guy has become a big lobbyist it's believed he
- 5:47Speaker 1: paid for the trip which would not be kosher hasty
- 5:51Speaker 1: has refused to say who paid for the trip so
- 5:53Speaker 1: has the lobbyist looks pretty sleazy but he's a democrat
- 5:57Speaker 1: so he has immunity let's go to vincent in brooklyn
- 6:00Speaker 1: vincent how.
- 6:01Speaker 5: You doing Good morning, Mark.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Mark, I'm okay.
- 6:04Speaker 5: I listened to the debate last night, and one of
- 6:06Speaker 5: my favorite lines is when Kathy Hochul was crawling, oh,
- 6:10Speaker 5: I spent $ 4 billion hiring new police throughout the state,
- 6:16Speaker 5: and Bruce Blakeman came back and hit her with a punch.
- 6:18Speaker 5: He said, and you spent $ 8 billion giving migrants free
- 6:24Speaker 5: health care, housing, and cell phones. You know, a lot
- 6:28Speaker 5: of these anti-AI people, Mark, they don't realize that New
- 6:32Speaker 5: jobs are created. These robots and all this associated stuff
- 6:37Speaker 5: with AI needs servicing, needs people to service these robots,
- 6:42Speaker 5: to get the equipment that these robots... Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 1: But they'll have robots that fix the robots.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Well, but still, somebody's going to have to learn the
- 6:53Speaker 5: technology to fix and program the master robot. Folks, you
- 6:59Speaker 5: may hear me sometimes come on Mark's show, and I'll
- 7:02Speaker 5: say something. I'll rail against Trump here and there. But
- 7:06Speaker 5: let me make it perfectly clear. I will never vote
- 7:09Speaker 5: for a Democrat. I'm going to vote for Bruce Blakeman.
- 7:13Speaker 5: I'm going to vote right down the line. I would
- 7:16Speaker 5: never want to see somebody, any Democrat, in the presidency,
- 7:21Speaker 5: so much so that I always put my money where
- 7:24Speaker 5: my mouth is. And last night, I couldn't do it
- 7:28Speaker 5: with the broccoli roll. I cut a check. To Bruce Blakeman.
- 7:34Speaker 5: And everybody who's listening within the sound of my voice.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Yeah, good for you, Vincent. Everybody donate. Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. BlakemanForNewYork.com.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Make a donation. Vincent, great call. We've got to take
- 7:47Speaker 1: a break. And when we come back, Ann Coulter will
- 7:50Speaker 1: be with us next on 710WOR.
