- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey guys, it's the Almost Famous podcast. Uh, it's producer
- 0:10Speaker 2: Heather And I'm pretty excited because last week I got
- 0:14Speaker 2: to do a Q and A with Ashley, So today
- 0:17Speaker 2: I get to do one with Ben and get to
- 0:20Speaker 2: know Ben on a different level, because that's what I
- 0:23Speaker 2: was saying all about it with Ashley last week.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I was like, man, this has been so fun. Now
- 0:28Speaker 3: I need to do one with Ben.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So we put it up on our socials for you
- 0:33Speaker 2: guys to ask some questions and we're gonna dive into this.
- 0:37Speaker 2: So first one is from j Gomez Double seven. I
- 0:43Speaker 2: like that handle. They said, when will we see him
- 0:46Speaker 2: back on our TV screens?
- 0:49Speaker 4: That's a great question. I don't know one I'd have
- 0:54Speaker 4: to be asked. Wait, Ben, I think I can. Do
- 0:57Speaker 4: you have something that I do? Show?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yes, tell them about it.
- 1:01Speaker 4: So I am getting ready here goodness, in like two
- 1:05Speaker 4: weeks to leave to film a show I'm hosting that
- 1:10Speaker 4: is called I Do and it's a wedding show. I'm
- 1:14Speaker 4: very excited for it. It's destination weddings and so either
- 1:18Speaker 4: Valori Nules or couples getting married in a destination. It's
- 1:23Speaker 4: kind of their dream wedding where you're looking for couples
- 1:25Speaker 4: who maybe wouldn't have this opportunity or are looking to
- 1:30Speaker 4: get married kind of in a tight timeline. We're going
- 1:33Speaker 4: to follow their journey. I'm planning this destination wedding on
- 1:35Speaker 4: their families, joining them on what it takes, what it
- 1:38Speaker 4: looks like in some of the most incredible places around
- 1:43Speaker 4: the US, so within this hemisphere.
- 1:45Speaker 5: So we're.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Getting ready to pack up and travel. I will be
- 1:50Speaker 4: hosting that. I do feel like that's a great fit
- 1:52Speaker 4: for me.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I do too. A question, is casting still open for
- 1:57Speaker 3: this project?
- 1:57Speaker 4: You know, yeah it is, the first few locations have
- 2:01Speaker 4: been filled, but if it goes well, we'll kind of
- 2:04Speaker 4: just keep this going throughout the year and do new
- 2:08Speaker 4: locations and other locations.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Well, let's put some stuff up on our socials, so
- 2:12Speaker 2: if people are listening and this is for.
- 2:14Speaker 4: That, awesome, Yeah, let's do it. We Actually tomorrow I
- 2:18Speaker 4: have my first call with the couples that are getting married.
- 2:22Speaker 4: So I'm going to zoom with them and just meet
- 2:24Speaker 4: them so that the weirdness of hey, I'm hosting this
- 2:28Speaker 4: show and showing up to your wedding and you don't
- 2:31Speaker 4: know me is gone. I'm hoping we build a little
- 2:34Speaker 4: bit of relationship beforehand. So yeah, let's post some stuff
- 2:36Speaker 4: on our socials.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I think that's cute. I think it's cute.
- 2:39Speaker 2: You being on another like iteration of a love show
- 2:43Speaker 2: to me does feel very apropos in a lot of ways.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, for me to be on TV you want,
- 2:49Speaker 4: it has to be right. I'm not leaving my family
- 2:52Speaker 4: for any just any opportunity. You know, there's some reality
- 2:57Speaker 4: shows out there that I would definitely consider and probably
- 3:00Speaker 4: say yes to if I was asked, just because of
- 3:04Speaker 4: the commitment, the benefits of the kind of the quality
- 3:10Speaker 4: of them, I think. But for the most part, so
- 3:13Speaker 4: much of my life is now spent promoting other things
- 3:17Speaker 4: outside of my own television career, which is great. I'd
- 3:21Speaker 4: be so happy about that too.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I love it.
- 3:24Speaker 2: So I can't wait to see that. Next question is
- 3:27Speaker 2: from Alexia. They say, what book are you currently reading
- 3:31Speaker 2: or the last book you read?
- 3:34Speaker 4: Oh goodness, that's a great question, Alexia. Thank you for asking.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I'm reading a lot right now. I'm listening and reading.
- 3:41Speaker 4: So let me be clear. Because I walk my dog
- 3:44Speaker 4: so much and I usually strap my daughter onto the
- 3:47Speaker 4: front of me to give Jess a little break. I'm
- 3:50Speaker 4: listening and then I also read, so not to be
- 3:54Speaker 4: too weird here for anybody. I am committing this year
- 3:57Speaker 4: to read the Bible, and so that is one book
- 4:01Speaker 4: that I am reading. It's been a bit since I said, Okay,
- 4:04Speaker 4: I'm gonna actually sit down, plug through the chapters, investigate.
- 4:09Speaker 4: I just finished the Lonesome Dove series. That was one
- 4:14Speaker 4: of my favorite series I've ever dove into.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Wait, what's that about? Who's it bye?
- 4:19Speaker 4: It's an old Western series. It talks about kind of
- 4:23Speaker 4: follows two friends who navigate life together through the West,
- 4:30Speaker 4: their interactions with each other, with Native Americans, with new
- 4:35Speaker 4: communities and new towns, with there the bars. It's great,
- 4:40Speaker 4: it's old. It was. It's kind of what inspired Taylor
- 4:44Speaker 4: Sheridan to do all of his work. So I dove
- 4:47Speaker 4: into those. I finished all of those Lonesome Dove, all
- 4:51Speaker 4: the way to Streets of Laredo, Comanche Moon. I'm forgetting
- 4:55Speaker 4: the fourth. Now I'm doing Legends of the a Fall,
- 5:01Speaker 4: mostly a classic because I feel like, not really like old,
- 5:05Speaker 4: old classic, but by Jim Harrison. Because everybody talks about it.
- 5:10Speaker 4: But my favorite book as of recent that I read,
- 5:13Speaker 4: never listened to read straight through, is called THEO of
- 5:16Speaker 4: Golden I was going.
- 5:17Speaker 3: To say, you told me about that when we.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Were in Carmel, and it's on my list, and I
- 5:22Speaker 2: saw it at a bookstore and I had to put
- 5:23Speaker 2: it down because I was like, you have too many
- 5:26Speaker 2: on your TBR list, but you will get to it
- 5:28Speaker 2: because Ben suggested it.
- 5:30Speaker 3: So I do want to read that.
- 5:32Speaker 4: I want to be clear, and I've kind of been
- 5:34Speaker 4: upset about this, but I'm very happy for the author.
- 5:37Speaker 4: This is the author's only book that he's ever written.
- 5:39Speaker 4: It's now one of It's obviously a New York Times bestseller.
- 5:42Speaker 4: I think it's second or third on the Modern Sales
- 5:46Speaker 4: chart and has been for months now. I told people
- 5:50Speaker 4: to read this like two years ago, like a year
- 5:54Speaker 4: and a half ago. I was I want this is
- 5:56Speaker 4: like one of the only things in my life, Heather,
- 5:58Speaker 4: that I've been in front of and like trendy on.
- 6:02Speaker 4: So I take a lot of prize telling my wife
- 6:04Speaker 4: the last week because she just finished it. She didn't
- 6:06Speaker 4: even listened to me when I told her to read it.
- 6:08Speaker 4: It took it like blowing up for her to read it.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I said, I want you to be no like I know,
- 6:14Speaker 4: I'm not like the hippist dude in the world, but
- 6:16Speaker 4: I knew about this before anybody else, and I want
- 6:19Speaker 4: you to remember that when this when everybody starts talking
- 6:22Speaker 4: about it, and she yeah, you know, said.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Okay, that's kind of how I felt about I read
- 6:26Speaker 2: Hamnett two years ago, and then now it's a movie
- 6:30Speaker 2: and everybody's talking about the movie, and I guess it, like,
- 6:32Speaker 2: really did well. I tempted to watch the movie a
- 6:36Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago, and I had to turn it
- 6:38Speaker 2: off halfway through. I was like, a little too much
- 6:40Speaker 2: screaming not to experience the screaming when you read the book. Yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 2: but good book, sad story. If anybody cares about that recommendation.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:51Speaker 2: The next one is from Maria loves icin dream Center. Maria,
- 6:55Speaker 2: you send us so many great questions. Thank you for that.
- 6:58Speaker 3: She says, what do you love about Jess being a mom?
- 7:02Speaker 4: I mean, goodness, you could get me going, going, going.
- 7:05Speaker 4: I think to simplify it and not to say everything,
- 7:09Speaker 4: because it's all wonderful and beautiful. I have seen my
- 7:14Speaker 4: wife becomes so unselfish with her body, her time, her focus,
- 7:29Speaker 4: and do it with such joy. So it's cool for
- 7:32Speaker 4: I think what I mean by this, it's really fun
- 7:36Speaker 4: for me to be inspired by Jessica and see this
- 7:41Speaker 4: joy that comes from caring for Winnie, playing with Winnie,
- 7:45Speaker 4: loving on Winnie. Uh, and see it and see it
- 7:49Speaker 4: in person. I think that's what. It inspires me to
- 7:54Speaker 4: be a better dad. And it inspires me, well, it
- 7:59Speaker 4: encourages me that that kind of love exists in the world.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Like I know she loves me. She said, Hey, let's
- 8:04Speaker 4: do this thing for the rest of our life together.
- 8:05Speaker 4: That's cool and I'm so grateful for it. But there
- 8:11Speaker 4: is a like a sacredness and a spiritualness to the
- 8:14Speaker 4: love that a mom gives a child that words have
- 8:18Speaker 4: a hard time encompassing, but when you witness it daily,
- 8:22Speaker 4: moment by moment, it changes the perspective of life. And
- 8:28Speaker 4: so yeah, that's been really fun, I think. And we
- 8:32Speaker 4: just have a lot of fun together now with Winnie.
- 8:35Speaker 4: There's so much laughter and laying on the floor and
- 8:40Speaker 4: playing with the stupidest little toys and throwing balls at
- 8:45Speaker 4: each other. That's just been a lot of fun for me.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Is it's taken I don't know what I did before,
- 8:52Speaker 4: but it's taken away a lot of the sit on
- 8:54Speaker 4: my phone or sit and watch TV or kind of
- 8:57Speaker 4: that kind of thing, because the joy comes from those
- 9:00Speaker 4: moments where it's like, I don't want to miss this. Yeah,
- 9:04Speaker 4: So as a mom, it's been fun to see us
- 9:06Speaker 4: all kind of come together too.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I think that's great.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And I'm not a parent, but all I ever hear
- 9:11Speaker 2: from parents is that it goes by so fast. So
- 9:13Speaker 2: it's good to know that you're just sitting and enjoying.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Bring it in.
- 9:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Kristen asks Ben, do you plan to get any more
- 9:34Speaker 2: tattoos in the future.
- 9:36Speaker 4: I don't plan on it, but I'm not against it.
- 9:39Speaker 5: You know.
- 9:39Speaker 4: My first tattoo, obviously, is a wild story where I
- 9:43Speaker 4: was in college and felt like it was something I
- 9:46Speaker 4: wanted to do, and I did it, and I've never
- 9:48Speaker 4: regretted it. It's great. It's a Bible verse, commit to
- 9:51Speaker 4: the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I also got my ring tattooed on my finger. That
- 9:57Speaker 4: was more medical because I was so scared to wear
- 9:59Speaker 4: a ring. I wanted people to know I was married,
- 10:02Speaker 4: that I was like, I don't want my you know,
- 10:04Speaker 4: to have a ring on somebody tattooed on.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Do you have a metal ring or do you have
- 10:08Speaker 3: a rubber ring.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I have a metal ring that was given to me
- 10:12Speaker 4: at the wedding that I wear like on date nights, okay,
- 10:15Speaker 4: and sometimes forget to even wait it on date nights. Yeah,
- 10:19Speaker 4: Jes loves when I wear it. In fact, we have
- 10:21Speaker 4: a date night tomorrow night and I need to remember
- 10:23Speaker 4: to wear this. She she would love that. That'd be
- 10:26Speaker 4: good for me. But the tatto my side's big. I
- 10:29Speaker 4: don't know if you remember the story, Heather, but I
- 10:31Speaker 4: got it done in college and had it like drawn out,
- 10:37Speaker 4: and I brought it into the guy and I had
- 10:38Speaker 4: it numbered on kind of how I wanted the verse
- 10:41Speaker 4: broken up, like commit to the Lord whatever you do,
- 10:42Speaker 4: and your plans will succeed Proverbs sixteen three. And I
- 10:45Speaker 4: had it spaced out and I had the line number one, two, three,
- 10:48Speaker 4: four on the side. And then when I got home
- 10:51Speaker 4: it kind of wraps around my side.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Here, I have one that wraps around my side too.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Yeah, And my buddy, my roommate, said let me see it,
- 10:59Speaker 4: so I showed him. He goes hey, there's no proverb
- 11:01Speaker 4: sixteen thirty four. And I was like, what do you
- 11:04Speaker 4: mean there's a proverb sixteen thirty four? And he goes
- 11:07Speaker 4: your tattoo says proverb sixteen thirty four, and I freaked out,
- 11:12Speaker 4: And it did it said proverb sixteen thirty four. The
- 11:15Speaker 4: guy had used that. I don't know why he thought.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Oh, the line four he included.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Yeah, old, So now there's like this massive orthodox cross
- 11:25Speaker 4: covering this four on my side. It's it doesn't really fit.
- 11:28Speaker 4: So that's good.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Oh no, Oh, so wait did he do He had
- 11:37Speaker 2: to have done the temporary purple ink like stamp on
- 11:42Speaker 2: you that you checked in the mirror, because they don't
- 11:47Speaker 2: ever freehand anything.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I don't remember.
- 11:50Speaker 3: May I've never been to somebody that free handed. That's
- 11:52Speaker 3: kind of crazy.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't remember necessarily kind of how it played out.
- 11:58Speaker 4: I know, I did not know that it was thirty
- 12:00Speaker 4: four until I got home and showed my roommate.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Oh, crazy, that's crazy.
- 12:06Speaker 2: If you were to get another one, do you have
- 12:08Speaker 2: an idea of what it would be or what it
- 12:11Speaker 2: would reference.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Yeah, it would definitely be. Jessica and I've talked about
- 12:17Speaker 4: getting like a honeypot for Whinnie.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Does Jess have any tattoos?
- 12:23Speaker 4: Yeah, she loves this. She has this lady in town
- 12:27Speaker 4: here that does like the thin tattoos you know, I'm
- 12:30Speaker 4: talking about, like very dainty, very beautiful.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I wish I knew about those when I was getting them,
- 12:35Speaker 2: because that probably would have been a better choice for me,
- 12:39Speaker 2: and some of them that I've gotten.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, So she has a couple. She has like
- 12:44Speaker 4: an ode to her grandfather. She had his hat like
- 12:46Speaker 4: tattooed on her wrist. She has her brothers and her
- 12:51Speaker 4: got a matching like tattoo together. She has some fun
- 12:55Speaker 4: ones that she just gets, but they're all very dainty
- 12:58Speaker 4: and you really wouldn't tell. They're kind of all around
- 13:01Speaker 4: her wrisk areas. There's really nowhere else.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Cool, well interesting.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Jamie asks after your season and the engagement was called off,
- 13:13Speaker 2: did any of the women from your season try to
- 13:16Speaker 2: shoot their shot with you again?
- 13:18Speaker 5: No?
- 13:19Speaker 4: I think they. I think they said, hey, we we
- 13:21Speaker 4: got lucky when we weren't chosen.
- 13:25Speaker 2: It's been I actually am flabbergacid that you said no,
- 13:28Speaker 2: because I feel like that is so common with the dating.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Shows, especially too in the Bachelor Universe.
- 13:34Speaker 2: We see people not just in Paradise, but we see
- 13:39Speaker 2: people get together with other people, you know, after their
- 13:42Speaker 2: time on the show.
- 13:44Speaker 3: I mean they could pilot Pete.
- 13:46Speaker 4: That's good point. Yeah, he's at he dated his whole
- 13:49Speaker 4: season exactly. Yeah, that is actually impressive. I haven't thought
- 13:55Speaker 4: about that, but he has like dated a lot of
- 13:58Speaker 4: the girls that were on his season at some point
- 13:59Speaker 4: because me with Maddie right, yes.
- 14:02Speaker 2: And then Hannah something was happening there, and then back
- 14:06Speaker 2: back and forth with Kelly a handful of times.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Yeah, good for him. See, that's that's a guy that
- 14:13Speaker 4: the girl said, hey, I still want a shot with.
- 14:15Speaker 1: No.
- 14:15Speaker 4: I never I honestly didn't really. I can't remember even
- 14:20Speaker 4: hearing from any of those girls until honestly, I got
- 14:26Speaker 4: married and Jojo and my wife kind of connected about
- 14:32Speaker 4: like mom stuff, which was very sweet. But I don't
- 14:35Speaker 4: other than beca like Tilly, I haven't even really had
- 14:38Speaker 4: any contact. I don't think I willing.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Interesting, not what I would have guessed, but you know
- 14:44Speaker 2: what it might have to do with I don't know.
- 14:48Speaker 3: You weren't you went.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Back to like real life, right, you weren't, Like, you
- 14:52Speaker 2: didn't move to LA you didn't go on Paradise, you
- 14:55Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Like they saw the house that I was living in
- 14:59Speaker 4: on and happily ever after, and they're like, wait.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Ben, you had a house.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I mean that's probably a step up than most contestants,
- 15:09Speaker 2: for sure, But anyways, you're being humble.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Okay, No, I really didn't, though I can't remember. I mean,
- 15:16Speaker 4: it's been a while, right, I don't think I think
- 15:19Speaker 4: I could confidently say I didn't even go on a
- 15:24Speaker 4: date outside of Caitlin during her season and then my season.
- 15:31Speaker 4: I don't think I've even gone on a date with
- 15:33Speaker 4: anybody from the Bachelor franchise outside of my time on
- 15:39Speaker 4: the shows.
- 15:40Speaker 3: And now it's a follow up question for me, and
- 15:43Speaker 3: I did this with Ashley.
- 15:44Speaker 4: I should be wrong there, don't like I'm not like
- 15:46Speaker 4: saying that. No, for sure. I can't remember, though, but
- 15:49Speaker 4: I don't think I did.
- 15:50Speaker 2: So in between meeting the love of your life, Jess,
- 15:54Speaker 2: you're dating you weren't on dating apps? Like, how were
- 15:59Speaker 2: you meeting women?
- 16:02Speaker 4: That's a good question. I was on dating apps? Oh
- 16:04Speaker 4: you were?
- 16:05Speaker 3: Which one?
- 16:06Speaker 4: Or well? I actually don't think I was post show,
- 16:09Speaker 4: be fleeting up to the show.
- 16:10Speaker 3: It was on post show?
- 16:12Speaker 4: What show? I met somebody. I dated a girl in
- 16:17Speaker 4: between for a few months who was fantastic. The problem
- 16:22Speaker 4: was she was so sweet. I have nothing but amazing
- 16:27Speaker 4: things to say about it. The problem was she and I,
- 16:30Speaker 4: like we met very soon after the breakup, so at
- 16:33Speaker 4: first it was this like I'm, you know, a sad puppy,
- 16:36Speaker 4: like she saw me, she saw me cry was like,
- 16:40Speaker 4: which was not is never healthy for the sustaining of
- 16:43Speaker 4: a relationship. It was very unfair to her. But we
- 16:46Speaker 4: we kind of got through that chapter, which was great,
- 16:48Speaker 4: but there was still for many months there was that
- 16:52Speaker 4: like poll of I'm still hurt, I missed this what
- 16:56Speaker 4: happened kind of stuff, and so we ended it, like
- 17:00Speaker 4: I believe because of that the really the true of hey,
- 17:04Speaker 4: it's not you, it's me, Like I'm not good and
- 17:06Speaker 4: this is not healthy and this is not going and
- 17:09Speaker 4: we're great. And then very soon after that ended, I
- 17:13Speaker 4: took about three months off, didn't date at all, and
- 17:15Speaker 4: I remember being in Vegas for the Iheartfest with I
- 17:19Speaker 4: think it was like Nan and Wells and Nick and
- 17:23Speaker 4: they were all telling me, you've got a message with
- 17:24Speaker 4: girls on Instagram. You've got a date again. Ben, It's
- 17:26Speaker 4: been three months, you even gone on a date, like
- 17:28Speaker 4: go out there and date have fun. You're single and
- 17:32Speaker 4: you're not getting younger. And that's when I messaged Jess
- 17:35Speaker 4: and she was it. She was and so it was
- 17:38Speaker 4: I was hurting at that point. Then after those three
- 17:41Speaker 4: months had taken time away, I think Lauren and Chris
- 17:44Speaker 4: had like kind of announced their deal. It was real
- 17:47Speaker 4: love right like you're like, okay, this is done, done,
- 17:49Speaker 4: We're good. And then I was trying to figure stuff out.
- 17:54Speaker 4: I went on Winter Games that obviously didn't go great
- 17:58Speaker 4: for me, and then when I had my first date
- 18:01Speaker 4: with Jess, I am not kidding, it was like a oh,
- 18:05Speaker 4: I don't miss any like this is it? This is
- 18:07Speaker 4: all I want? Yeah, And so there wasn't like a
- 18:11Speaker 4: lot of dating in between I and I'm glad. I
- 18:13Speaker 4: think I could have had a lot of fun, like
- 18:15Speaker 4: going out on dates and doing that. But I'm I
- 18:17Speaker 4: don't think. I don't think I did miss a thing. Yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 4: I don't think.
- 18:21Speaker 3: So, Okay, good to know.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Victoria asks, if you were to build the perfect sandwich,
- 18:29Speaker 2: that's in it.
- 18:31Speaker 4: That's that's a great well, thank you, Victoria for the
- 18:33Speaker 4: wild question. It's got to be for me. I'm I'm
- 18:38Speaker 4: really a big like French dip fan. So that's kind
- 18:41Speaker 4: of my perfect sandwich with horse radish, a little provolon
- 18:45Speaker 4: or Swiss, a good prime rib, you dip it, love it.
- 18:50Speaker 4: But out said of that, if I was like going
- 18:53Speaker 4: to a deli, uh, the base of this would be
- 18:57Speaker 4: a some type of like bad get like French bread.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Would be great with ham like good ham. Not a
- 19:07Speaker 4: big deli meat person in this house read too many
- 19:11Speaker 4: weird things on it. So big like good deli meat
- 19:14Speaker 4: person like fresh cut pepper jack, cheese, dejon, mustard and
- 19:19Speaker 4: hot sauce. Great combination with a little mayo, lettuce, pickle, onion, tomato.
- 19:25Speaker 4: That's that's probably my perfect sandwich. Toasted like I want it.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I want the bagget at least warm.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I was gonna ask if you're toasted or untoasted.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Sandwich panini too nice.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I think one of the best sandwiches I ever had
- 19:39Speaker 2: was when I went to Paris a couple of years
- 19:41Speaker 2: ago and I just landed and it was super early
- 19:45Speaker 2: in the morning. I just went to a place around
- 19:47Speaker 2: the corner from my hotel and I got it was
- 19:51Speaker 2: like turkey on a bag yette with pickles and butter.
- 19:59Speaker 2: They put butter on the sandwiches there. It's not like
- 20:02Speaker 2: a big mayonnaise mustard place. And I was thinking butter, turkey, pickles, this,
- 20:11Speaker 2: I don't cheese. I think maybe cheese was on there.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I was like, I don't know about this. It's fantastic.
- 20:16Speaker 2: It's all fantastic.
- 20:18Speaker 3: The food I.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Had, obviously simple food, but also some of the best
- 20:23Speaker 2: food I ever had was in Paris, Okay. Nicole Millway
- 20:37Speaker 2: asks if you could change anything about your season, what
- 20:41Speaker 2: would you change?
- 20:43Speaker 3: Seasons?
- 20:44Speaker 2: They say, so not just yeah, not just your Bachelor season.
- 20:50Speaker 4: The Bachelorette season. There wouldn't be a lot I would change.
- 20:55Speaker 4: There was great guys on it. I made some really
- 20:57Speaker 4: good friendships, some I'm still in contact with today. But
- 21:01Speaker 4: I really enjoyed the people that, like I felt like
- 21:05Speaker 4: I had time to invest into, like the Shamboose and
- 21:10Speaker 4: the Tanners, and the Jared's and the Benzorns and Joe Bailey,
- 21:15Speaker 4: Josh Alberts, those are just good, good dudes. I'm missing people,
- 21:20Speaker 4: but there was a lot of good moments. And then
- 21:24Speaker 4: obviously getting to know Caitlin was so great. My Bachelor season,
- 21:29Speaker 4: I don't know if there's a lot I would change.
- 21:31Speaker 4: It's not the no regrets stuff. I did the best
- 21:34Speaker 4: I could. I would have probably tried to take like
- 21:38Speaker 4: a parasite clins before the season started, so I wasn't
- 21:41Speaker 4: sick the whole time. I felt awful.
- 21:43Speaker 3: If only you knew, though you didn't.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Know, you had to find it. I know I would
- 21:49Speaker 4: definitely not share. You know, there's a level of me
- 21:54Speaker 4: I've I've said it publicly. I don't even know how
- 21:55Speaker 4: to make sense of it. The double I love you
- 21:58Speaker 4: is I would have been wiser in my communication and
- 22:03Speaker 4: what I said and didn't say, But I wo it
- 22:09Speaker 4: is how I like, I think I felt, and so
- 22:11Speaker 4: I said what I was feeling, which is the only
- 22:14Speaker 4: way you can make it through that process and figure
- 22:17Speaker 4: out what it is. At the end. It was leading me,
- 22:20Speaker 4: obviously to neither of them who moved on to amazing
- 22:23Speaker 4: dudes and have families. And that's great, and so maybe
- 22:26Speaker 4: it was all It all worked out exactly how it should,
- 22:30Speaker 4: but I do think it added a little bit of
- 22:32Speaker 4: confusion and it felt I think when I talk about
- 22:35Speaker 4: it today, it felt a little bit manipulative because I
- 22:38Speaker 4: think I was doing it more for myself, wanting both
- 22:42Speaker 4: of them to know, Hey, I really care about you.
- 22:44Speaker 4: This isn't going to work out like for both of us,
- 22:46Speaker 4: all of us, but I want you to know how
- 22:48Speaker 4: meaningful you are to me. I think I was doing
- 22:52Speaker 4: that more for myself than I was for them, and
- 22:55Speaker 4: I don't think at the time I was wise enough
- 22:57Speaker 4: to decipher who I was actually doing it for.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I think you're being hard on yourself. I don't think
- 23:03Speaker 2: that that was manipulative. That wouldn't be the.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Word I would use. I feel like bleeding on No.
- 23:10Speaker 2: I feel like, if I remember correctly watching it, your
- 23:15Speaker 2: face being so shocked yourself when you said it that
- 23:20Speaker 2: I think you're just you can't negate that you're wrapped
- 23:25Speaker 2: up in this bubble and you're living in a real.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Life rom com where you're the star.
- 23:32Speaker 2: It's like that's gotta be so jarring and crazy for anybody,
- 23:37Speaker 2: and you're just like in the moment being like, Yeah,
- 23:40Speaker 2: this is amazing. I just want to share it and
- 23:43Speaker 2: like if and I don't know if we've talked about
- 23:46Speaker 2: your love language and if it's words of affirmation, but
- 23:49Speaker 2: if it is, I mean I can't blame you for
- 23:52Speaker 2: just like affirming how you're feeling to the people that
- 23:55Speaker 2: you're spending time.
- 23:56Speaker 3: With, you know.
- 23:58Speaker 4: I think that was my thought was I'm a arming
- 24:00Speaker 4: how I'm feeling, and I know one of you aren't
- 24:03Speaker 4: going to be here after tomorrow, and one of you,
- 24:05Speaker 4: since you aren't, I want you to know that I
- 24:08Speaker 4: cared that this wasn't fake, that this wasn't drawn out,
- 24:11Speaker 4: that this wasn't anything less than amazing for me. I
- 24:16Speaker 4: just wish back then I would have had the wisdom
- 24:19Speaker 4: to take a second and be like, Okay, but who
- 24:21Speaker 4: how is this going to impact them? However, for the
- 24:24Speaker 4: sake of the experience, I do think it was good
- 24:32Speaker 4: for Jojo because she became the bachelorette and she had
- 24:35Speaker 4: that yeah, met her husband. Yeah. So like at the
- 24:38Speaker 4: end of the day. So I'm saying, there isn't a
- 24:40Speaker 4: lot I would change because I did the best I could.
- 24:42Speaker 4: It wasn't going to be perfect. It was just as
- 24:44Speaker 4: good as it could get. And the one thing I
- 24:49Speaker 4: would say that I'm very proud of is that I
- 24:53Speaker 4: stayed very like it was very real to me. There
- 24:56Speaker 4: is an intention behind getting to know the women, being
- 24:58Speaker 4: thankful that they were there, giving up their time to
- 25:01Speaker 4: try to make this work, knowing what they left behind,
- 25:04Speaker 4: probably and I'm glad that because I can look back
- 25:07Speaker 4: today and be like, that wasn't just a wasted year
- 25:10Speaker 4: of my life. That was like a very transformative year
- 25:13Speaker 4: of my life. That was that felt serious, even though
- 25:17Speaker 4: it's in this goofy environment.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Our last question is from Sarah and she says, since
- 25:25Speaker 2: becoming a dad, what has been the hardest or most
- 25:29Speaker 2: unexpected thing you've had to face?
- 25:33Speaker 4: Whennie's a dream. Honestly, I think it's the lack of
- 25:40Speaker 4: one on one time jess Can I have uh with energy?
- 25:43Speaker 4: So I take care of Whinnie right up until bedtime
- 25:49Speaker 4: while Jessica gets ready for bed and I get ready
- 25:53Speaker 4: for bed, like before I take care of Whinnie, and
- 25:56Speaker 4: so we're kind of like two ships, you know, in
- 25:59Speaker 4: the night at times. And so that's why we're implementing
- 26:02Speaker 4: date nights. I think that's been hard because there's days
- 26:06Speaker 4: that go by where I'm like, hey, I haven't got
- 26:08Speaker 4: to catch up with my wife, and I think she
- 26:11Speaker 4: feels the same way. I would also say more and
- 26:14Speaker 4: more now it's my time away, it's hard. And that
- 26:18Speaker 4: even means I used to go to the gym every
- 26:20Speaker 4: morning from six forty five and get home about eight fifteen.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Well that's hard today because when he wakes up at
- 26:27Speaker 4: six thirty and then Jessica, what am I going to do?
- 26:30Speaker 4: Be like, heyhn, have fun, you know, doing all this
- 26:33Speaker 4: stuff in the morning by yourself, and then we get
- 26:37Speaker 4: our days started, and that would mean I wouldn't get
- 26:39Speaker 4: to hang out with Jess or Winnie.
- 26:40Speaker 3: And so I think our listeners also don't understand how much.
- 26:44Speaker 2: You travel, Like, yeah, Ben, I work with a lot
- 26:48Speaker 2: of talent like actors and actresses, and I think Ben
- 26:53Speaker 2: probably outflies them in an average year. Like Ben is
- 26:58Speaker 2: always on a flight and doing stuff, and it's they're quick.
- 27:02Speaker 2: You usually are very quick. You're in and out when
- 27:04Speaker 2: it comes to your work.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Starty to be.
- 27:06Speaker 3: But I don't think that people understand probably the length
- 27:10Speaker 3: of how much you travel throughout a year, and that
- 27:15Speaker 3: gets harder.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Yeah. Not because my wife makes heart good and gracy,
- 27:19Speaker 4: she's so forgiving of it. The problem is I get
- 27:24Speaker 4: really sad now, especially in a hotel room alone at night,
- 27:29Speaker 4: I get really sad. So I have tried to make
- 27:33Speaker 4: trips quicker. I do fly a lot. I think last
- 27:35Speaker 4: year I clocked one hundred and fifteen flights, Like, that's
- 27:39Speaker 4: a lot of flights.
- 27:40Speaker 2: It's crazy. I actually I am telling you I work with
- 27:43Speaker 2: a lot of people, and Ben is flying a lot
- 27:47Speaker 2: more than most people that I work with. Okay, wait,
- 27:49Speaker 2: I lied. We have one more question. Okay from Tricia.
- 27:52Speaker 2: They said, would you rather eat every meal with your
- 27:57Speaker 2: feet and not use your hands?
- 28:00Speaker 4: This sounds like the person asking me for feet picks
- 28:02Speaker 4: on cameo.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Maybe this is them.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Come on, Tricia, eat every meal with your feet and
- 28:08Speaker 2: not use your hands? Or would you rather announce every
- 28:12Speaker 2: time you walked into a room or a facility? Hi,
- 28:16Speaker 2: Bachelor Ben Higgins is here?
- 28:18Speaker 4: Oh feet for sure? Feet for sure.
- 28:23Speaker 3: That's the public places too, Ben's feet.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Yeah, a good question though, that sounds like good question
- 28:30Speaker 4: I would have asked, like when I was dating, to
- 28:33Speaker 4: keep things interesting, a question like that. But I'm not
- 28:37Speaker 4: ashamed by any means of the Bachelor. I'd love to
- 28:39Speaker 4: talk about it. I would talk about all aspects of
- 28:42Speaker 4: it at any moment, at any time. But when people
- 28:46Speaker 4: don't know me from the show, it is the last
- 28:49Speaker 4: thing I want to tell them. It is not like
- 28:52Speaker 4: a the biggest compliment I've gotten and I get a
- 28:56Speaker 4: lot is when I have a business meeting or whatever
- 29:00Speaker 4: and I get home and I get an email being like, hey,
- 29:01Speaker 4: you didn't tell me you were on the Bachelor and
- 29:03Speaker 4: we were just met for two days. I'm like, well,
- 29:05Speaker 4: that wasn't You didn't ask, so no, I would much
- 29:10Speaker 4: rather use my feet.
- 29:12Speaker 2: That's hilarious, Okay, Ben, Well, similar to Ashley last week.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I feel like I've gotten to know you a lot
- 29:20Speaker 2: better this week through these questions, So thanks so much.
- 29:23Speaker 4: I just add I've got long toes and so there's
- 29:26Speaker 4: a part of me that says I could actually do this.
- 29:29Speaker 3: I don't want to see it personally.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I don't want to see it happen, yeah, because I
- 29:34Speaker 2: feel like that would be jarring. You have very long legs.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I just feel like your leg being up like this
- 29:40Speaker 2: and your foot grabbing a fork would just be very
- 29:45Speaker 2: difficult for anybody, but also for you because you're super tall.
- 29:48Speaker 3: This has been great, though. Everybody.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Please keep sending in your questions and stuff for Ben
- 29:53Speaker 2: and Ashley. We will continue to do these episodes because
- 29:56Speaker 2: I find them fascinating and I think you guys do too.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Ben, appreciate it.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Hey, happy to be here. I'll talk to you soon.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Bye.
