- 1:47Speaker 1: a name.
- 1:48Speaker 2: That's what his parents name.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I'm sure something will come up and we'll be like, oh,
- 1:50Speaker 1: your name now is banana split Ooh, I like that,
- 1:52Speaker 1: but it's not, but just kind of how stuff happens.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And also Casey just kind of you know, I was like,
- 1:59Speaker 1: just join the show, and he's just chills and every

- 2:11Speaker 1: to where he's comfortable. We'll meet him, meet him at
- 2:13Speaker 1: the place. We'll meet him at his place. Which, by
- 2:16Speaker 1: the way, I like to show you, guys, Eddie like
- 2:18Speaker 1: to show you. This is my new baseball card.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Oh that's you. Whoa cool picture?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Dude?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Like to see it?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I can kind of see it.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Well.
- 2:26Speaker 1: So it says Bobby Bones Pitcher, National League rookie card,
- 2:30Speaker 1: A little emblem up there, look at you, and so
- 2:32Speaker 1: it's me pitching at the Major League Baseball Celebrity All
- 2:35Speaker 1: Star Game. And then on the back Bobby Bones National League.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Are your stats on there?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yes? All Star Game? Batting average one thousand, yeah, never
- 2:45Speaker 1: got out home runs one RBI four wow, game at
- 2:48Speaker 1: fours And then it says named MVP after four innings
- 2:51Speaker 1: on the mound and one in center field.
- 2:53Speaker 2: That's right.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So this is the card that's leg So if we
- 2:56Speaker 1: want to do a signing, guys, line up afterward twenty
- 2:58Speaker 1: bucks a pop.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Now that I'm a card guy, how many did you make?
- 3:05Speaker 1: Five hundred?
- 3:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so that's gonna bring the value down a
- 3:08Speaker 2: little bit.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I haven't given a single one away. There's no population.
- 3:12Speaker 2: What is it? What do you mean?
- 3:13Speaker 1: I sent one to a kid whose mom was like, hey,
- 3:16Speaker 1: a kid had a bad day from the show. So
- 3:18Speaker 1: right now he's got the one of one. Well it's
- 3:20Speaker 1: not one of one. What he's got the one of
- 3:23Speaker 1: But I haven't sent out any he's just got one. Okay,
- 3:25Speaker 1: so it's up five hundred. I could up the I
- 3:27Speaker 1: could double the value. About burning two and fifty of the.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Real quick, that's what I'm saying. There, Light them on fire.
- 3:33Speaker 2: That's really cool.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Though.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You got cards?
- 3:35Speaker 1: Well movie made them.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Oh yes, it's not like tops didn't make that.
- 3:40Speaker 5: He sent them into a to get graded.
- 3:42Speaker 1: No, because they're not on a checklist. PSA only grades
- 3:47Speaker 1: cards that are on a checklist from a brand that
- 3:49Speaker 1: they work with. Now, I could probably send it to
- 3:50Speaker 1: one of the smaller possibly groups, but we made these.
- 3:55Speaker 1: There's a place that makes baseball cards, and so honestly,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I thought it would be fun to have a big
- 3:59Speaker 1: card guy, and then still considering on my eBay page,
- 4:04Speaker 1: they like you end up winning a big item. I
- 4:06Speaker 1: put I signed one in there. That's cool, dude, I
- 4:07Speaker 1: don't know that I'm doing that yet. It could be
- 4:10Speaker 1: like Willie want. I don't know, but we made them.
- 4:11Speaker 1: They's just give away deals. But I've only given away one,
- 4:15Speaker 1: so don't we put your dirty, grubby hands on them?
- 4:17Speaker 2: All right? Can wait?
- 4:18Speaker 4: Can I have one condition to this?
- 4:20Speaker 1: One here is already in a pat it's in a sleeve.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Oh they're not all in sleeves.
- 4:24Speaker 1: No, they're all like only they're freshly produced, still in
- 4:27Speaker 1: a box. So MVP card, this is the rookie. Rookie.
- 4:32Speaker 6: You can tell too if one of them is going
- 4:33Speaker 6: to be like graded at ten, because some of them,
- 4:35Speaker 6: like they're cut a little bit differently on the line,
- 4:39Speaker 6: you know, like normal baseball cards, because.
- 4:41Speaker 1: You can send a card in to get graded and
- 4:42Speaker 1: you're like, it's in perfect condition. But if it's cut,
- 4:44Speaker 1: if they cut it wrong, it's not a ten.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Or even if the print was like a little off
- 4:49Speaker 2: and it's a little faded, I know, it's not even
- 4:51Speaker 2: my fault.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So that's what's up. Big News got baseball.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Car that's awesome.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Let's do the tittle tattle. Here we go.
- 5:06Speaker 7: Which head coach do you think has a chance to
- 5:08Speaker 7: win their first title this year?
- 5:11Speaker 1: Uh so the ones that have a title and Saban
- 5:13Speaker 1: doesn't coach anymore. Saban was more than four Kirby Smart,
- 5:17Speaker 1: uh Dabo which he doesn't take transfers or money. They're
- 5:21Speaker 1: like basically running amish program, old school. Yes, it's like
- 5:24Speaker 1: they make their own milk, they churn their own butter
- 5:26Speaker 1: over there. I respect it. I don't want to do
- 5:30Speaker 1: Mac ground will want to Texas with Vince Young. Oh yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 1: so those Carolina Yeah so the three that are still
- 5:36Speaker 1: in the game, Kirby, Mac and Dabbo so the next
- 5:39Speaker 1: to join them. If Ryan Day does not win a
- 5:41Speaker 1: title or get to the championship game, it's over. He's
- 5:45Speaker 1: gonna get fired. He has every resource. They have maybe
- 5:51Speaker 1: four uh all first Team All Americans too. I think
- 5:55Speaker 1: I saw like three or four First Team All Americans
- 5:57Speaker 1: at Ohio State. They have They have paid for everything
- 5:59Speaker 1: they need to paid for. They also have as offensive coordinator.
- 6:02Speaker 1: They took the head coach from UCLA who is also
- 6:05Speaker 1: an NFL coach, who is also a former head coach Eddie.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Who's the head who is now the offensive coordinator Ohio State?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Kelly Boom, let's go, yeah totally.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I know that's good. And who's the head coach?
- 6:16Speaker 2: Come on, stop there, I know this is what he
- 6:18Speaker 2: worked on.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Who's the head coach at Alabama?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, figure it out, Kaylin the boor.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Got it there? Good job. I think it's probably Ryan
- 6:28Speaker 1: Day just because everything has been set up. I mean,
- 6:32Speaker 1: everything has to go right in college football at least has,
- 6:34Speaker 1: and now you get to lose a couple of games too.
- 6:36Speaker 1: The weird thing is going to be Ohio State and
- 6:38Speaker 1: Michigan playing each other at the end, and they play,
- 6:42Speaker 1: and they can play again the next week in the
- 6:44Speaker 1: conference championship, and then they can hypothetically play again in
- 6:47Speaker 1: the College Football Playoff. They could play three times in
- 6:50Speaker 1: like five or six weeks, which is hilarious. But I'm
- 6:53Speaker 1: gonna go just because it's set up so wonderfully for
- 6:57Speaker 1: him to do so Ryan Day. I think other people.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You have to look at Dan Lanning at Oregon, same
- 7:02Speaker 1: conference now, which is interesting. Steve Sarkizi and Texas is
- 7:05Speaker 1: gonna be good. They're gonna be in the SEC. I'm
- 7:09Speaker 1: curious to see how Texas does in the SEC because
- 7:11Speaker 1: they are loaded. But we can't forget the thing about
- 7:14Speaker 1: Texas is they're Texas and they that's under achieving, you know.
- 7:20Speaker 1: But again, they performed well last year, but they went
- 7:23Speaker 1: to they're in the playoff. Great, good for Texas. I
- 7:26Speaker 1: hate Texas, but they're set up. They're just in the SEC.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And it's not that Texas can't compete in the SEC
- 7:34Speaker 1: or that that talent can't compete in the SEC. It's
- 7:36Speaker 1: just they haven't had to ever do it in the
- 7:37Speaker 1: history of their life. So now they're moving up a level.
- 7:40Speaker 1: They have the talent to compete, but will they adjust
- 7:44Speaker 1: quick enough to not one or two games, but like
- 7:48Speaker 1: seven or eight where people have similar speed in size.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I mean, Texas is going to be bigger and faster
- 7:54Speaker 1: than most teams anyway, but in the SEC, you're playing
- 7:57Speaker 1: teams that have similar speed in size. Once conference play,
- 8:00Speaker 1: it starts almost every week except for a Vanderbilt, except
- 8:03Speaker 1: for occasionally if like Mississippi State's down or even Arkansas's down,
- 8:09Speaker 1: or one of the teams that float up and down
- 8:11Speaker 1: the SEC a little bit. Even the mid teams if
- 8:14Speaker 1: you're not ready. Every week they will sneak up on you.
- 8:17Speaker 1: So I'm still gonna go Ryan Day. He's set up
- 8:21Speaker 1: to do it. I don't like Ohio State, I don't
- 8:24Speaker 1: dislike Ohio State, but I think he's probably the coach
- 8:27Speaker 1: that wins a national title. If you're putting money in
- 8:30Speaker 1: my hand and saying bet it, but I'm not betting
- 8:32Speaker 1: it with my own money.
- 8:33Speaker 7: You don't want to put money on Ohio State.
- 8:35Speaker 1: No, because I don't like Ohio State. I don't dislike
- 8:37Speaker 1: Ohio State. I don't like Ohio State. I get annoyed
- 8:40Speaker 1: that when there's four teams, Ohio State automatically gets if
- 8:43Speaker 1: it's even close, they get in. I think that's what's
- 8:46Speaker 1: gonna be fun about the twelve team playoff, which will
- 8:47Speaker 1: be sixteen teams, not next year, but I bet you
- 8:50Speaker 1: in two or three years it's sixteen that quick because
- 8:52Speaker 1: there's no change other than the four teams that get
- 8:54Speaker 1: to buy. There's no restructuring really the tournament because four
- 8:58Speaker 1: teams get a buy in the first round of the
- 9:00Speaker 1: Collegeotball Playoff, so it's not like you're having to add
- 9:02Speaker 1: another anything. You just take that little bracket and move
- 9:05Speaker 1: it out, and so it's like the Sweet sixteen in basketball.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Ryan Day's my answer.
- 9:09Speaker 7: Next question, All right, which Week one matchup are you
- 9:11Speaker 7: looking forward to most?
- 9:12Speaker 1: First of all, I hate Week zero. They should just
- 9:16Speaker 1: call it like exhibition. I know the games count. They
- 9:20Speaker 1: should put one big game on, just call that Week one.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You just don't like the name. No such thing as
- 9:26Speaker 1: zero zero is not a thing. So let's make a
- 9:29Speaker 1: couple of games. Because there was obviously that Ireland game.
- 9:32Speaker 1: We should have a couple of big games in a
- 9:33Speaker 1: Week zero one. Sure, Week one. Half the game that
- 9:38Speaker 1: I think most people are looking forward to is Clemson
- 9:40Speaker 1: at Georgia. I think that sets the tone for both
- 9:44Speaker 1: of those programs. Again, in the past, it would probably
- 9:48Speaker 1: ruin the season for one of those programs, or they'd
- 9:50Speaker 1: be really behind the eight ball. Going further, but not
- 9:53Speaker 1: so much. But Clemson at Georgia. If Clemson wins the game,
- 9:58Speaker 1: Clemson's Clemson will be in in the tournament if they
- 10:01Speaker 1: win this game, because it's not like they're over there
- 10:02Speaker 1: in the a c C playing anybody. So if Georgia wins,
- 10:08Speaker 1: Clemson is another team. So if Clemson, this is a
- 10:11Speaker 1: bigger game for Clemson than it is Georgia. I would
- 10:14Speaker 1: say that's probably the game people looking forward to most.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I think the Notre Dame Texas A and M game
- 10:19Speaker 1: is interesting to me because Notre Dame is supposedly good,
- 10:22Speaker 1: and again they get a bit of the Texas treatment.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Are they playing in Texas?
- 10:25Speaker 1: They're playing yeah at cult station long so in Texas
- 10:28Speaker 1: A and M top twenty team in college station. That's
- 10:31Speaker 1: just a fun matchup that my head doesn't really process, yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 1: because they never play yeah that Notre Dame. Do people
- 10:37Speaker 1: from Notre Dame even go to Texas? Like that?
- 10:40Speaker 3: To me?
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, So that's a fun game too. USC is going
- 10:44Speaker 1: to LSU, and is what's USC gonna do? You know?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Do they have a defense this year? I mean literally,
- 10:50Speaker 1: is anyone on the field playing defense? So all those
- 10:53Speaker 1: are fun, but I'm gonna I'm still gonna go Clemson
- 10:55Speaker 1: at Georgia. All right?
- 10:56Speaker 3: Next one?
- 10:56Speaker 7: All right, let's go to the NFL. Here, which team
- 10:58Speaker 7: do you think has the best chance to go from
- 10:59Speaker 7: last to first in their division?
- 11:01Speaker 1: So the easy answer is the Bengals, but that's just
- 11:03Speaker 1: because Joe Burrow was hurt. So I'm gonna take the
- 11:05Speaker 1: Bengals off because the Bengals easily could have won their
- 11:08Speaker 1: division last year, or they'd have been up with Baltimore
- 11:12Speaker 1: battling it out. But if we're putting like the teams
- 11:15Speaker 1: that actually sucked, I'm going to read you the last
- 11:18Speaker 1: place team. These are teams that actually sucked that we're
- 11:19Speaker 1: looking for a big improvement. Bears, Titans, Chargers, Cardinals, Panthers, Patriots, Commanders.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Those are all the teams that were in last place
- 11:30Speaker 1: of their divisions. So the teams that are not going
- 11:32Speaker 1: to go to first place are the Patriots. They don't
- 11:35Speaker 1: they'll stay at the bottom most like, I don't think
- 11:39Speaker 1: they win their division. With Buffalo and the Jets and
- 11:43Speaker 1: the Dolphins. That's a tough one. I'm also going to
- 11:47Speaker 1: pull the Titans. I think the Titans will I think
- 11:49Speaker 1: they'll win a few more games, and people expect them
- 11:52Speaker 1: to win this year, but I don't think they're going
- 11:54Speaker 1: to win that division, so I'm gonna pull them. I'm
- 11:57Speaker 1: pulling the Cardinals. Once Eddie told me, here's a little
- 12:00Speaker 1: fun fact for you there, Casey. Eddie told me to
- 12:03Speaker 1: bet the Cardinals because they flew over his house and
- 12:05Speaker 1: it was like a sign from God's the Cardinals were
- 12:07Speaker 1: the division.
- 12:08Speaker 2: A lot of it was a big roar. Dude, I
- 12:11Speaker 2: love that, and it's their team playing. Flying over my
- 12:13Speaker 2: house is a sign.
- 12:15Speaker 8: But like the Harrison Junior, it's just fine above Okay.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well he wasn't he was like twelve then, yeah, okay,
- 12:22Speaker 2: I understand.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Now you look at the Panthers. They were last. I
- 12:27Speaker 1: don't think they're gonna win the division, but that division,
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't guess anything would surprise me. I don't think
- 12:32Speaker 1: they really have the you know, the ammunition to come
- 12:35Speaker 1: out of that gunfight. I'd like to see them win
- 12:37Speaker 1: some games, though. I'd like to see Bryce Young actually
- 12:39Speaker 1: play pretty well.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I'd be nice.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I can't put them on it. So now we're at
- 12:43Speaker 1: the Bears, the Chargers, and the Commanders. I think the
- 12:45Speaker 1: Bears division is too hard. I think the Bears will
- 12:48Speaker 1: actually be a lot better, obviously, but I think that
- 12:50Speaker 1: division is too hard, which puts us at the Chargers
- 12:53Speaker 1: and Commanders. I don't think the Chargers are going to
- 12:55Speaker 1: take the Chiefs just straight up. That has been there,
- 12:57Speaker 1: so that leaves us as the commanders. It gets the
- 13:00Speaker 1: commanders we do what go worse to first. I do
- 13:04Speaker 1: think jayde and Daniels has a great shot at being
- 13:06Speaker 1: a Rookie of the Year. I think your old coach,
- 13:10Speaker 1: you're you're pissing me, your old defensive coordinators. Now the
- 13:13Speaker 1: head coach got his hat backwhere got Yeah? Yeah, okay,
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know the offensive coordinator is uh for do it?
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he can do it, offense coordinator. Give me, give
- 13:24Speaker 2: me a hint.
- 13:25Speaker 1: He coached on your Cardinals team in college. He coached
- 13:29Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield. No, no, Johnny Manziel.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Oh oh oh yeah, yeah, yeah. What's his name?
- 13:37Speaker 1: Good looking?
- 13:37Speaker 2: What's his first Cliff? Cliff? Coach Cliff yea Kingsbury.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Correct, he's the that's a coordinator. So it's a whole
- 13:44Speaker 1: new team.
- 13:44Speaker 2: That is a whole new deal.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And uh, you know what's up a Dallas? Who knows
- 13:47Speaker 1: what's up with the Eagles.
- 13:49Speaker 2: They'll be better than the Giants.
- 13:51Speaker 1: They will be I think they'll be better than the Giants.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Better than the Giants, but I don't know.
- 13:54Speaker 1: The Giants could surprise you. Daniel Jones just has to
- 13:57Speaker 1: play five and a half out of ten.
- 14:00Speaker 9: I mean, he threw a pick six in the preseason.
- 14:02Speaker 9: Nothing matters in the preseason. Nothing matters exactly. We've got
- 14:05Speaker 9: nothing here we go. I think the Giants can win
- 14:09Speaker 9: eight games. Mhm so and that's not even five hundred.
- 14:13Speaker 9: But I do think Daniel Jones has flashes and I had.
- 14:15Speaker 9: I think the Giants will finish last. But I'm not
- 14:17Speaker 9: going to write them off.
- 14:18Speaker 1: The Eagles, obviously, with Philly, same head coach, new offensive coordinator,
- 14:24Speaker 1: the issues between hurts and that that wholes it.
- 14:27Speaker 7: I'm going with the Commanders. Think they're gonna be pretty
- 14:29Speaker 7: Goodlast question, I like it. What's QB coming off of injury?
- 14:32Speaker 7: Do you think he'll get his team back to the playoffs?
- 14:34Speaker 7: Aaron Rodgers or Joe Burrow?
- 14:36Speaker 1: Do I have to pick one? Yeah, because I think
- 14:38Speaker 1: they'll both get in. I have to go Burrow. Sorry,
- 14:44Speaker 1: but I think you'd say the same. Being a Jets fan,
- 14:46Speaker 1: everything tends to not work out, all right. That's the
- 14:49Speaker 1: title saddle. Thank you name the tittle tonnle. Let's talk
- 14:57Speaker 1: about the parlay this week with DraftKings.
- 14:59Speaker 3: We're gonna go.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Oh, it's early. I don't have the fields yet. I
- 15:02Speaker 1: don't have the fields on how good these teams are.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So early, I like to feel a little bit like
- 15:05Speaker 1: to get my hands done. I like to like to
- 15:06Speaker 1: do some touching. So we're just gonna go money lines
- 15:10Speaker 1: on all these games until we kind of get the
- 15:13Speaker 1: until I can kind of rub a little bit. Yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 1: I need to feel I need to caress the teams
- 15:17Speaker 1: to see how good I think they're weird, but no, no,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I need to like go knuckles deep.
- 15:21Speaker 5: We're talking football here.
- 15:22Speaker 1: We are talking to football here. So here we go.
- 15:24Speaker 1: We're gonna do three games. I got them lined out
- 15:26Speaker 1: for you. Week one, Notre Dame in Texas A and M.
- 15:31Speaker 1: We're going Texa A and M money line because they're
- 15:36Speaker 1: crazy down in College Station. Notre Dame is not going
- 15:39Speaker 1: to know what hit him. Georgia they're in Georgia. They're
- 15:43Speaker 1: in Atlanta, so it's not it's they're in Georgia the state,
- 15:46Speaker 1: but they're not really Georgia. Money line over Clemson. That
- 15:50Speaker 1: I'm not really taking a big chance there. I'm be
- 15:52Speaker 1: honest with you. That one feels that, that feels pretty solid.
- 15:56Speaker 1: And then I'm gonna go l s U the rebuild,
- 16:01Speaker 1: the rebuilt a bit LSU money line over USC you
- 16:05Speaker 1: know not coincidentally all SEC teams.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Oh no, you didn't even think of it.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Like that.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I probably did supcods.
- 16:13Speaker 5: You didn't even look at the other games too.
- 16:14Speaker 1: It so we got Texas A and m over Notre
- 16:17Speaker 1: Dame Georgia over Clemson LSU at usc All home teams,
- 16:21Speaker 1: all SEC teams Week one. That's our parlay. If you

- 17:03Speaker 7: Now we're gonna get over to former running back, full back,
- 17:06Speaker 7: all around, great guy, great player, chiefs Hall of Famer
- 17:08Speaker 7: Tony Richardson Tony's a super smart dude, got his master's degree.
- 17:13Speaker 7: He's now a mentor for the young players. He still
- 17:15Speaker 7: lives in New York. Says that he works with the
- 17:16Speaker 7: Giants and the Jets a lot with bringing guys up
- 17:18Speaker 7: and teaching them the right route to go when it
- 17:20Speaker 7: comes to the career and money and all that good stuff.
- 17:23Speaker 7: The list goes on and on, so I'll just let
- 17:25Speaker 7: you hear it for yourself. Tony talks about that. Here
- 17:27Speaker 7: is Tony Richardson from Fanatics Vests in New York.
- 17:30Speaker 10: So, as you were coming on, we just finished speaking
- 17:33Speaker 10: with Rich Easen, Great Rich Arsene, great Love. So what
- 17:38Speaker 10: is your relationship with Rich?
- 17:40Speaker 11: You know, it's funny, it goes way back. So actually
- 17:42Speaker 11: when I was the first person in the as a
- 17:45Speaker 11: current player to finish his master so I got my
- 17:48Speaker 11: NBA and finance and so Rich the organization, the Chiefs Organization,
- 17:52Speaker 11: did a phenomenal job of really just inviting an entire
- 17:55Speaker 11: organization anybody that wanted to come. Mister Hunt, the late
- 17:58Speaker 11: mister Hunt, actually came to the graduate. So they did
- 18:00Speaker 11: a big feature on it, and so they came to
- 18:03Speaker 11: my house. They filmed the graduation and everything else, and
- 18:06Speaker 11: then Rich obviously did a great job of producing it
- 18:09Speaker 11: and talking over it. But they also used to do
- 18:10Speaker 11: a segment call I guess it was like NFL cribs
- 18:14Speaker 11: or something like that. That's funny that you know we
- 18:17Speaker 11: did those things. But yeah, Rich was doing that well.
- 18:19Speaker 11: So it's amazing from where he started.
- 18:21Speaker 3: And where he is now. I mean, he's a legend.
- 18:24Speaker 10: So let's talk about being a fullback for a second out.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, like that don't really happen anymore.
- 18:29Speaker 11: Well, you know, actually there's a few guys and so
- 18:32Speaker 11: I'm fortunate. So I work for Legends Community and my
- 18:35Speaker 11: boss Tracy Pearlman, and well my main boss, Roger Gondelle's
- 18:38Speaker 11: the other way. He's actually on the stage right now,
- 18:41Speaker 11: on the fanatic stage. And then and Tracy Pearlman. So
- 18:45Speaker 11: so interesting enough. Working for the NFL, I get a
- 18:48Speaker 11: chance to do a lot of mentorships. So we go
- 18:50Speaker 11: down to the Combine and I get a chance to
- 18:52Speaker 11: work with me and work done. We get a chance
- 18:54Speaker 11: to work with the running backs and fullbacks. Generally there's
- 18:56Speaker 11: one fullback at the Combine. So one of the one
- 19:00Speaker 11: of my great mentor stores was I got a chance
- 19:01Speaker 11: to meet Alec Ingle, and he was I had him
- 19:05Speaker 11: at the Senior Bowl and he was like, hey, man,
- 19:07Speaker 11: do you think I could play? I was like, dude, absolutely,
- 19:09Speaker 11: And then from the Senior Bowl, I saw him at
- 19:11Speaker 11: the Combine and then the Combine he ended up going
- 19:12Speaker 11: to the Raiders. Now he's the highest paid fullback in
- 19:14Speaker 11: the Miami Dolphins. And so I built up relationships. So
- 19:17Speaker 11: we have we have c J. Ham, he's uh, he's
- 19:20Speaker 11: down in Minnesota. Yeah, Hugh Scheck. I talked to Houston,
- 19:24Speaker 11: so it's you know, it's a and then you got
- 19:26Speaker 11: the veteran ram up during Baltimore, so there's there's a
- 19:28Speaker 11: few guys that are still out there.
- 19:30Speaker 3: It's just you know, everyone's like.
- 19:32Speaker 11: Like right now, I don't if I was currently playing,
- 19:34Speaker 11: I don't know if i'd be in the National Football
- 19:36Speaker 11: League because if I was with the Chiefs, there's no
- 19:38Speaker 11: fullback like they have Tyreek Hill in the backfield obviously
- 19:41Speaker 11: not there anymore, but you know they run a spread
- 19:43Speaker 11: offense and everything's moving, so the position itself, it's kind
- 19:46Speaker 11: of it's starting to come back. I guess when the
- 19:48Speaker 11: weather changes, that's when they start putting fullback.
- 19:51Speaker 5: That's when they sign up in the winter.
- 19:53Speaker 1: All right, it's below sixty, let's sign us a full back.
- 19:56Speaker 11: All you do is it's like, look, during the season,
- 19:58Speaker 11: we just want you to sit in the house.
- 19:59Speaker 3: She's eat meat all day long.
- 20:02Speaker 11: When it starts to get cold outside, we're gonna bring
- 20:04Speaker 11: you out like a polar bear and put you out there.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Just be a better ran to go hit people.
- 20:08Speaker 1: What about It seems to like fullbacks, much like tight ends,
- 20:12Speaker 1: have to be a bit more utility es, No doubt,
- 20:15Speaker 1: they're not just straightforward to end the gap take out
- 20:17Speaker 1: the linebacker like they've also, I mean you check is
- 20:19Speaker 1: a great example of that.
- 20:21Speaker 10: Could you catch you know?
- 20:23Speaker 11: It's funny enough, I think anything. I mean, I was
- 20:25Speaker 11: a I called the ball pretty well. But it's one
- 20:27Speaker 11: of those things.
- 20:28Speaker 3: I think.
- 20:29Speaker 11: It's just as far as the route running, Like there
- 20:30Speaker 11: was times where we'd motioned myself out the backfield and
- 20:32Speaker 11: then I'd run like a non route. But nowadays you
- 20:35Speaker 11: got like hues check, he's running routes like he's running
- 20:37Speaker 11: corner routes, he's running comebacks, he's doing I mean, he
- 20:39Speaker 11: had won in the Super Bowl.
- 20:40Speaker 3: He came back and caught him Like, man, I don't
- 20:42Speaker 3: have those type of hands.
- 20:43Speaker 11: But you know, with anything, I guess if I was
- 20:45Speaker 11: asked to do that, and obviously to keep your job,
- 20:48Speaker 11: if you're asked to do that, you're gonna do it.
- 20:50Speaker 3: But yeah, and that's the thing. Now.
- 20:52Speaker 11: It's funny because I do all these football camps with
- 20:55Speaker 11: some of my buddies who are running camps and some
- 20:56Speaker 11: of my own, and I'm like.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Okay, where's the running backs.
- 21:00Speaker 11: We'll get three running backs and forty wide receivers. But
- 21:03Speaker 11: you got to think about it, like, the shelf life
- 21:05Speaker 11: for running backs is three years. Wide receivers are making
- 21:08Speaker 11: thirty five million dollars a year. So parents are like, no,
- 21:10Speaker 11: you're not playing running back. They're gonna get you out
- 21:12Speaker 11: of here. So it's interesting that what we do is
- 21:14Speaker 11: we put the running backs in the and the wide receivers.
- 21:17Speaker 11: We put them together because in order to play running
- 21:19Speaker 11: back in this league, you have to be able to
- 21:21Speaker 11: run routes.
- 21:22Speaker 3: You know.
- 21:23Speaker 11: The pass protection part is one thing I think that's
- 21:25Speaker 11: kind of lost our game because you couldn't play running
- 21:28Speaker 11: back in the league if you couldn't pick up the blitz. Well, nowady,
- 21:30Speaker 11: there's no blitz because a lot well if they are blitzing.
- 21:32Speaker 11: The linebackers are one hundred and eighty five pounds just
- 21:34Speaker 11: because they got to cover running backs side of the backfield.
- 21:36Speaker 11: But yeah, I guess if I had to, I would
- 21:39Speaker 11: be able to justin catch the ball.
- 21:40Speaker 1: How special when they called your number to get that
- 21:43Speaker 1: goal line carry.
- 21:45Speaker 3: You know it happened.
- 21:46Speaker 11: But you know it's funny when some years before pre
- 21:48Speaker 11: Hume came to Kansas City, I was in feature back,
- 21:51Speaker 11: so I got the ball quite a bit, and then
- 21:52Speaker 11: all of a sudden pre showed up and there was like, no,
- 21:54Speaker 11: you're going back put.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Your hands like you're going to put your hand back
- 21:57Speaker 3: in the dirt.
- 21:58Speaker 11: But yeah, it was always special and a great thing
- 22:00Speaker 11: for me is like of all the years of the
- 22:03Speaker 11: years I play, I've always played with an incredible offensive line.
- 22:07Speaker 11: I mean, you think about playing in Kansas City, I
- 22:09Speaker 11: had Hall of Famer and wheel shields.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I had Willie Roafe, I had Brian Waters.
- 22:13Speaker 11: Then I go to Minnesota, I got I got Steve Hutchinson,
- 22:18Speaker 11: Brian McKinny. Then I come to the Jets and I
- 22:19Speaker 11: got Fanica, I got the Brickershaw, I got you know, Mangled.
- 22:24Speaker 11: So every place I played, I played with some great
- 22:26Speaker 11: offensive lineman, which made my job that much easier. So
- 22:29Speaker 11: for a fullback, me getting the ball is just like
- 22:31Speaker 11: a guard getting the ball.
- 22:32Speaker 3: So they cheered me on.
- 22:33Speaker 11: So I'm like, you know, I get the ball like
- 22:35Speaker 11: maybe five times a season, so it's all fun, it's
- 22:37Speaker 11: all good.
- 22:38Speaker 1: What about playing, If let's say today you're coming up,
- 22:40Speaker 1: what would would you have been a tight end?
- 22:43Speaker 3: I mean I probably would have had to have been.
- 22:44Speaker 11: I probably would have to be someone like a Dallas
- 22:46Speaker 11: part just because I mean now I've lost, like I mean,
- 22:48Speaker 11: I'm down to waigh myself today, I'm like two twenty three.
- 22:51Speaker 11: I played about two forty two, so I've lost such amendous.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Amount of weight.
- 22:55Speaker 11: But I would probably have to be that hybrid type
- 22:58Speaker 11: of guy, like a Dallas Clark, not saying I have
- 22:59Speaker 11: no hands like him, but maybe a guy that body
- 23:02Speaker 11: type that could run your outes side of the backfield
- 23:05Speaker 11: and catch the ball, but also line up and block
- 23:07Speaker 11: as well.
- 23:07Speaker 2: How does your body feel after being so I mean, dude,
- 23:10Speaker 2: you plowed through a lot of lines.
- 23:11Speaker 10: How does it feel today?
- 23:12Speaker 11: You know, I can tell you I feel pretty good now,
- 23:14Speaker 11: But when I was going through my line of duty,
- 23:15Speaker 11: when I was trying to get off my benefits, I
- 23:17Speaker 11: was horrible and I was like everything, could I show
- 23:22Speaker 11: up in a wheelchair brace? But not funny enough? So
- 23:25Speaker 11: I work out every day. I still lift weights. I'm
- 23:28Speaker 11: big into yoga. Uh funny enough. When I got to
- 23:30Speaker 11: the Dallas Cowboys and UH in nineteen ninety four, like
- 23:33Speaker 11: I was pretty fast out of college, and our tight
- 23:37Speaker 11: end Nobchek actually said he's like, t rich straight ahead,
- 23:40Speaker 11: you're incredible, but if you make a left or right,
- 23:43Speaker 11: you're gonna blow your hip out. So he got me
- 23:44Speaker 11: started to do I started with taekwondo, and I started
- 23:48Speaker 11: just getting loose, and then all of a sudden, I
- 23:49Speaker 11: got to Kansas City and my buddy introduced me to
- 23:51Speaker 11: Bickham Yoga, and I think that's what really helped me
- 23:54Speaker 11: play seventeen years because I never had any knee injuries.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Knock on wood.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I don't know if this is real wood yt yoga,
- 24:01Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, I done that.
- 24:02Speaker 11: But it's it's great because, like, and I tell the
- 24:05Speaker 11: young guys now, because even at the combine, they do
- 24:08Speaker 11: flexibility tests, and they do it because if if you
- 24:11Speaker 11: get your foot stuck in the ground, if one or
- 24:13Speaker 11: three things are gonna give your ankle's gonna pop your
- 24:15Speaker 11: knee joint or your hip. And if you're flexible, like
- 24:18Speaker 11: I mean, right now, I'm not gonna do it because
- 24:19Speaker 11: I got these little limon pants on.
- 24:20Speaker 3: But I can split. I could do a split, but
- 24:23Speaker 3: if you get into it way, I can do a
- 24:24Speaker 3: split if.
- 24:25Speaker 11: I if if if you get into an awkward position,
- 24:28Speaker 11: because that's just only when people you know, knees or whatever,
- 24:31Speaker 11: because it's like they getting the foot calling the ground
- 24:33Speaker 11: and they have tight hips or different things like that.
- 24:35Speaker 11: So I think the key for my success was flexibility.
- 24:38Speaker 11: But that's one thing. Like my body feels great. I
- 24:40Speaker 11: have knock up with no pain. Don't tell. Don't tell
- 24:42Speaker 11: the doctors like I give my buddies. I'm like, man,
- 24:46Speaker 11: make sure you do all your medical stuff. And they're like, man,
- 24:49Speaker 11: can I play basketball? I said, well, don't go in
- 24:50Speaker 11: there and just say I just shot a fourteen games
- 24:53Speaker 11: full full press. I said, you know, but afterwards, you know,
- 24:56Speaker 11: because you got to still live your life. But you know,
- 24:58Speaker 11: when you start feeling out your paperwork gotta be like,
- 25:01Speaker 11: my neck.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Hurt, everything that might hurt. Final question for you, and
- 25:07Speaker 1: you're known so much for giving back even working with
- 25:09Speaker 1: a lot of the young guys. Uh, somebody just coming
- 25:11Speaker 1: into the league coming from a small to a mid
- 25:14Speaker 1: size school.
- 25:14Speaker 10: Right, let's say they weren't an Obama or in Ohio State.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Like, what is your advice to these guys where I mean,
- 25:19Speaker 1: is it so much the speed physically?
- 25:21Speaker 10: This is the speed?
- 25:22Speaker 1: And then also like real personal life stuff like what
- 25:25Speaker 1: do you work with these kids on?
- 25:26Speaker 11: Yeah, you know, the biggest thing and that's that's that's
- 25:28Speaker 11: that's a very good question because a lot of parents
- 25:31Speaker 11: always come to me and they're like, Okay, my kids
- 25:33Speaker 11: getting recruited. Potentially he can go to Ohio State and
- 25:36Speaker 11: he's probably like like, all right, now, if you go
- 25:38Speaker 11: to Alabama, chances are you probably miss you like a
- 25:41Speaker 11: five star times ten. You're probably not gonna play until
- 25:44Speaker 11: your junior possibly senior year.
- 25:47Speaker 3: But you know, one of those.
- 25:48Speaker 11: Things that now the way tape is for anyway to
- 25:50Speaker 11: internet everything else. My biggest thing is just first of all,
- 25:54Speaker 11: getting your foot in the door. And then when you
- 25:55Speaker 11: get your foot in the door, it's just about going
- 25:56Speaker 11: to work. Because I came out of Auburn, which is
- 25:59Speaker 11: you know, we we went undefeated.
- 26:01Speaker 3: We were eleven to zero. And I get to that.
- 26:02Speaker 11: I was undrafted to the Dallas Cowboys, and so basically,
- 26:05Speaker 11: if you're undrafted, you're in a practice squad. My main
- 26:08Speaker 11: job was to make sure Emmis Smith's helmet didn't touch
- 26:10Speaker 11: the ground, Darryl Johnson had water.
- 26:12Speaker 3: You know, it was just part of my role, but
- 26:14Speaker 3: I accepted it.
- 26:14Speaker 11: And so the biggest thing, like my dad said, he
- 26:16Speaker 11: served our country for thirty two years, and he would say, son,
- 26:18Speaker 11: there's a reason why you have two ears in one mouth.
- 26:21Speaker 11: So sometimes it's okay just to be quiet. He didn't
- 26:23Speaker 11: say that, he would say other words, but to basically
- 26:26Speaker 11: shut up and listen. And so I took that. I
- 26:28Speaker 11: took that role, and I said, you know what, I'm
- 26:30Speaker 11: gonna do everything I can to show my value, to
- 26:32Speaker 11: show my worth, and I just bust my butt every
- 26:34Speaker 11: single day, understanding that you know, things happen and everything's
- 26:39Speaker 11: always not gonna work in your favor, but but you know,
- 26:41Speaker 11: if you continue to work hard and you know good
- 26:44Speaker 11: things that happened. But once you get your foot in
- 26:46Speaker 11: the door, understanding every single year, every single year I
- 26:49Speaker 11: was in the National Football League, they brought someone in
- 26:51Speaker 11: or they drafted someone to beat me out every single year.
- 26:54Speaker 11: So never rest on your lolls. Like if you make
- 26:56Speaker 11: the team your second year and be like, okay, now
- 26:59Speaker 11: I made it. I stopped work and hard. Guess what
- 27:00Speaker 11: they're going. There's a young kid in college right now
- 27:02Speaker 11: who will come take your job. And so that's the
- 27:05Speaker 11: biggest thing that that that's the biggest advice I give
- 27:07Speaker 11: guys is that you know I don't I mean, I
- 27:09Speaker 11: can't run. I used to be able to run fast,
- 27:11Speaker 11: but you know I might not be able to run
- 27:12Speaker 11: a four to three. But that no one's gonna be
- 27:14Speaker 11: able to work me. And that's the biggest thing that
- 27:15Speaker 11: I think carries over into life. You guys are supposed
- 27:17Speaker 11: to talk to me about flag football. You we didn't
- 27:19Speaker 11: even talk about flag football.
- 27:20Speaker 10: We ain't got there yet.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Okay, you said last quarter, last question, last question, like
- 27:25Speaker 1: about my personal Like.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Yeah, no, we get the real stuff.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Coming up to but like we got selfish questions.
- 27:33Speaker 10: We do selfish first.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I love it first. So my stuff we'll talk. We'll
- 27:40Speaker 3: talk about while you're here. Yeah. I just thought Michael,
- 27:43Speaker 3: you got see him.
- 27:43Speaker 10: He came by and hung up earlier.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why. I kind of did a double take
- 27:46Speaker 3: and say, oh, there he is.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's like I was talking with him and
- 27:48Speaker 1: I couldn't stop thinking.
- 27:49Speaker 10: He's worth billions.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just a billion, just billion?
- 27:52Speaker 10: Yeah yeah, yeah, I will see the commercials.
- 27:54Speaker 3: I'm just walking through here.
- 27:54Speaker 10: We get we identifying it.
- 27:57Speaker 3: It looks like Baker.
- 27:58Speaker 10: Nope, we're trying to a fun I don't know who
- 28:01Speaker 10: that is.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 28:03Speaker 10: Oh, I think that's a I don't even see who
- 28:05Speaker 10: the person. I just see a lot of group of it.
- 28:10Speaker 10: That's a streamer. Yeah, oh I don't stream we stream.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Is that Is that the kid that plays the video games?
- 28:19Speaker 12: Oh?
- 28:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 28:19Speaker 2: Man?
- 28:20Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, okay, yeah I like football. Yeah, flag football. Yep.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I see the commercials about the during the games, about
- 28:27Speaker 1: flag and the growth of the sport. It's also in
- 28:30Speaker 1: the Olympics coming up in So are those somewhat connected?
- 28:34Speaker 3: Yeah? Actually it was so.
- 28:35Speaker 11: I'm actually h so myself, Drew Brees, Uh, we're actually uh,
- 28:39Speaker 11: Bobby Taylor, we're actually uh, I guess spokes for spokespeople
- 28:43Speaker 11: for for flag football, and so you know, it's actually
- 28:46Speaker 11: crazy thing about flag football. I just got back from London, obviously,
- 28:48Speaker 11: the Jets and Vikings are playing there and I got
- 28:51Speaker 11: a chance to we hosted a flag football tournament for
- 28:54Speaker 11: young girls and it was Chicago Bears and UH and
- 28:57Speaker 11: the Jets. You should have seen these young women, like
- 28:59Speaker 11: first they're two years into the sport, but just to
- 29:02Speaker 11: see their athleticism, to see their want two and understanding
- 29:05Speaker 11: that now these kids can get college scholarships to go
- 29:07Speaker 11: play flag football. And also it's and it's one of
- 29:10Speaker 11: those things that it's not a male dominated sport anymore.
- 29:14Speaker 11: But yeah, as far as the Olympics, like me and Bobby,
- 29:16Speaker 11: we had a chance to go down to the World
- 29:17Speaker 11: Games which is actually in Birmingham, Alabama, and you see
- 29:20Speaker 11: these women out here competing and they're like they're getting down,
- 29:22Speaker 11: they're getting after it. So to be able to see
- 29:24Speaker 11: that women are actually now being able to get college scholarships,
- 29:27Speaker 11: and also you know, now it's an Olympic sport, I
- 29:29Speaker 11: think it's pretty cool.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Would the goal be with especially female flag football because
- 29:33Speaker 1: they're with the Olympics four years is male and female.
- 29:35Speaker 1: It's also five on five like Olympic wise, Yeah, is
- 29:39Speaker 1: the goal to get universities to eventually have teams as well?
- 29:44Speaker 11: You know, I think that's where I think that's where
- 29:46Speaker 11: it's headed because I, you know, because the Jets I do.
- 29:48Speaker 11: I still do a lot of work with the Jets,
- 29:50Speaker 11: and we actually sponsored like tackle football, so there's we
- 29:53Speaker 11: have a high school, there's high school tackle football as
- 29:55Speaker 11: high school flag. And now I think colleges will potentially
- 29:58Speaker 11: and it's I don't know if it's going to be
- 29:59Speaker 11: five on five, but there are leagues. I know colleges
- 30:01Speaker 11: are starting to uh you know, I guess not necessarily
- 30:04Speaker 11: D one, but maybe D two or D three where
- 30:06Speaker 11: women can actually get college scholarships to play flag football.
- 30:09Speaker 1: And when I would play flag when I was younger,
- 30:11Speaker 1: I would cheat and put in my pockets well yeah yeah, yeah,
- 30:14Speaker 1: like elementary.
- 30:15Speaker 10: School, yeah whatever.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I would just I didn't know that there was a
- 30:18Speaker 3: rule though you can't. I guess you can't. It's called
- 30:20Speaker 3: flag gardens.
- 30:21Speaker 10: I would do. That would a couple of like this, Yeah,
- 30:24Speaker 10: I would nod it up.
- 30:25Speaker 3: That would.
- 30:26Speaker 11: But you know, the cool things like these kids are
- 30:27Speaker 11: so athletic now that they're running full speed and they'll
- 30:31Speaker 11: drop down to like we're in need and touch the
- 30:33Speaker 11: ground and they just that's legal. You drop down and
- 30:36Speaker 11: they can't pull your flag. Yeah, so they got these
- 30:39Speaker 11: girls got skills. These women have skills.
- 30:41Speaker 1: If they are parents that are listening to this now
- 30:43Speaker 1: and they have daughters who have an interest, yep, where
- 30:46Speaker 1: can they go to read more about what you're doing
- 30:48Speaker 1: or learn more about what you're doing?
- 30:49Speaker 11: Yeah, I think I think you just go to NFL
- 30:51Speaker 11: dot flag or NFL if you go down, if you
- 30:54Speaker 11: go to the NFL website, there's always different posts of
- 30:56Speaker 11: different things like that. But I know if you go
- 30:58Speaker 11: to the NFL's website, it's NFL dot flag or flag
- 31:02Speaker 11: dot NFL dot com. I'll put yeah, so yeah, if
- 31:05Speaker 11: you do that actually, because there are so many opportunities,
- 31:08Speaker 11: not only just.
- 31:09Speaker 2: For it's NFL flag dot com.
- 31:11Speaker 11: There we go, NFL flag dot com. I knew it
- 31:13Speaker 11: was one of those, but yeah, so that's a beautiful
- 31:15Speaker 11: thing too. And it's and it's and it's a great
- 31:18Speaker 11: entry for I think for men and women just because
- 31:21Speaker 11: we're boys and girls. Because I know a lot of
- 31:23Speaker 11: times parents always say, well, what age should I start
- 31:25Speaker 11: my child playing tackle football? And I say, well, if
- 31:28Speaker 11: you're kind of concerned about that, then start with flag.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Yeah, And you know, and that's the biggest thing for me.
- 31:32Speaker 11: Like I grew up in Germany, so my first time
- 31:34Speaker 11: really playing organized football was my tenth grade year in
- 31:36Speaker 11: high school, but I did play soccer, and just having
- 31:40Speaker 11: the versatility of playing different sports I think helped me
- 31:43Speaker 11: as I started to really get into, you know.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Really tackle football. So I think if young people.
- 31:47Speaker 11: Start playing flag at an early age, because I mean,
- 31:50Speaker 11: it's every athletic movement that you're going to make in
- 31:53Speaker 11: any sport because in basketball you gotta jump, and flag
- 31:55Speaker 11: you're jumping, you got to make people miss and all
- 31:58Speaker 11: those kinds of things. And so I think I think
- 31:59Speaker 11: the game of flag is really you know, it's really
- 32:02Speaker 11: helping our game because at one time, obviously when you
- 32:04Speaker 11: see injuries and things of that nature, and then parents
- 32:06Speaker 11: are like, is the game of football safe?
- 32:08Speaker 3: And the game of football is very safe? And I
- 32:10Speaker 3: think a great entry way is too flag.
- 32:12Speaker 10: No fullbacks in flag.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Listen, you guys are trying to run me out of here.
- 32:17Speaker 3: There's no fullbacks and tackle football.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Well, my question was going to be is cyclical, Will
- 32:22Speaker 1: we someone again will adopt like the wing t triple option,
- 32:27Speaker 1: because everything that's old is new is old again.
- 32:30Speaker 10: Yeah, so we're we're spread.
- 32:32Speaker 1: You know, we're McDaniels in Miami, but we're the can't
- 32:36Speaker 1: Andy Reid.
- 32:36Speaker 10: But who when we see two fullbacks on the.
- 32:39Speaker 11: Field, like that's no, you know, think about it, and
- 32:42Speaker 11: that's why I think it, Like I love about Mike
- 32:43Speaker 11: McDaniel because they use their fullback all the time. Now,
- 32:46Speaker 11: granted he does it, I mean he I mean, I'm like, dude,
- 32:49Speaker 11: y'all don't even know how you keep your weight up
- 32:51Speaker 11: because they have him running. But the think about it
- 32:53Speaker 11: is like they use a fullback almost sixty to seventy
- 32:56Speaker 11: percent of offensive snaps. So I do I don't know
- 32:59Speaker 11: if we gonna get a because you know, I mean,
- 33:01Speaker 11: I don't know if we're get a fullback and flag.
- 33:02Speaker 3: But yeah, don't don't start throwing stuff out of that.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Try to give you.
- 33:06Speaker 11: I'm gonna have kids one day and be like, dad,
- 33:09Speaker 11: what it was a fullback? Hey, this is a fullback?
- 33:11Speaker 11: Was like, maybe they didn't, so we'll see.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I really appreciate the time's honor to me, got all
- 33:20Speaker 1: the selfish questions out.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 33:22Speaker 10: I appreciate it.
- 33:23Speaker 3: I really apreciated it.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I know, Eddie for this segment. What I'm gonna do
- 33:27Speaker 1: is I'll give you the team. Tell me if you
- 33:29Speaker 1: can I identify why they are named that team, For example,
- 33:32Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills, Like, why in the world would they
- 33:35Speaker 1: call them the Buffalo Bills. This is stuff that I
- 33:38Speaker 1: have not even thought about, because it's been so ingrained
- 33:41Speaker 1: in me certain teams. I've never thought about why they're
- 33:42Speaker 1: actually called that. So you guys can all give me
- 33:46Speaker 1: a version of what you think. You have to give
- 33:48Speaker 1: me an answer, though, as ridiculous as it is. You
- 33:50Speaker 1: have to give me your best answer for what you
- 33:53Speaker 1: think it is. So we have Katie, we have reed,
- 33:56Speaker 1: we have kickoff, Kevin. We're gonna start with the Buffalo Bills.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to different people first read I'm gonna
- 34:01Speaker 1: go to you Buffalo Bills. Why are they the Buffalo Bills.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Well, first of all, it's in Buffalo, New York.
- 34:06Speaker 1: But I would think, well, yes, it's always going to
- 34:08Speaker 1: be the city for the most part. Yeah, you got it.
- 34:11Speaker 6: The Bills, hmmm, maybe they uh let's see if uh
- 34:18Speaker 6: flat bills, flat bill of the hats, Yeah, Buffalo Bills.
- 34:23Speaker 5: I was not even thinking that.
- 34:26Speaker 7: I'm gonna just go out on a whim here I
- 34:28Speaker 7: don't even know if they have planes out there in Buffalo,
- 34:30Speaker 7: New York. But I'm gonna go out the bills like
- 34:31Speaker 7: on the plane, like field planes, you know what I mean.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Like a bill, like a bill of a duck, like like.
- 34:36Speaker 7: A buffalo, sorry, a buffalo out on the planes like
- 34:39Speaker 7: land a buffalo.
- 34:41Speaker 1: What's a bill though? Like I don't understand that. What's
- 34:43Speaker 1: the bill?
- 34:44Speaker 12: Uh?
- 34:45Speaker 5: Buffalo Bills.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 34:47Speaker 7: I'm just like now, I'm just thinking about their local
- 34:49Speaker 7: That's all I'm thinking about.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Buffalo Bill. Bill is the bill come from?
- 34:54Speaker 7: Bill comes from an old owner named Bill?
- 34:57Speaker 12: Okay, he kind of took part of my answer. I'm
- 35:00Speaker 12: gonna say that Bill Belichick was an early investor.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Okay. See all of them are wrong about like them.
- 35:06Speaker 1: I need you to have some theory. So the Buffalo
- 35:08Speaker 1: Bills were named after a previous Buffalo team, the Buffalo Bisons,
- 35:12Speaker 1: but after a fan contest, they chose to honor Buffalo
- 35:16Speaker 1: Bill Cody, the famous wild West showman the Buffalo Bills.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Buffalo Bill Cody, Buffalo Bill never ever knew that. Now,
- 35:23Speaker 1: you know, Miami Dolphins, this is okay, Kevin.
- 35:27Speaker 5: Yeah, the ocean in Miami.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Yeah, reed.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Yeah, man, dolphins.
- 35:33Speaker 1: They're in Miami. They're near water, so yes, that's probably
- 35:36Speaker 1: why the dolphin was selected. The Miami Dolphins name was
- 35:39Speaker 1: chosen in nineteen sixty five through a contest where people
- 35:42Speaker 1: just submitted thousands of names. But the dolphin makes sense
- 35:45Speaker 1: because of where they are, right.
- 35:47Speaker 4: They probably had a lot of people submit dolphins.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Dolphins or waves or sands wales, the way the beaches,
- 35:53Speaker 1: the little beaches.
- 35:54Speaker 7: Fun fact, as a kid, I was a Dolphins fan
- 35:56Speaker 7: for about two or three years because I love dolphins, just.
- 35:59Speaker 5: Because just because the animal.
- 36:02Speaker 1: New England Patriots, Katie, I'm gonna have you go first.
- 36:04Speaker 13: Well, you know New England where it all began.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll get you to name to reflect the region's heritage,
- 36:10Speaker 1: particularly its role in the American Revolution. Okay, Kevin. The
- 36:15Speaker 1: New York Jets.
- 36:19Speaker 7: New York high dollar, high class private jets. Okay, that's
- 36:24Speaker 7: what I'm thinking. Somebody said, you know what, we're rich
- 36:27Speaker 7: around here. We got private jets with the name.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Of the Jets.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Red.
- 36:30Speaker 6: Isn't there like a Jets pizza Jets pizza pizza up.
- 36:36Speaker 6: There's fantastic. So I'm gonna say it has something to
- 36:39Speaker 6: do with the owner Jets pizza, Katie.
- 36:41Speaker 13: Don't they have a lot of airports up there?
- 36:43Speaker 1: Katie kind of nailed it. So originally they were the
- 36:46Speaker 1: New York Titans. They changed to Jets in nineteen sixty
- 36:51Speaker 1: three to reflect a modern approach because they played near
- 36:53Speaker 1: LaGuardia Airport. I'm giving Katie that that's fair. She's kind
- 36:58Speaker 1: of kind of took it from me, but yeah, no,
- 37:01Speaker 1: private gentleman.
- 37:02Speaker 7: A little bit, a little bit I started it, got
- 37:04Speaker 7: her brain working, but yeah.
- 37:05Speaker 1: It's okay, a FC North, let's go. Baltimore Ravens, Katie.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Baltimore Ravens were the named after.
- 37:15Speaker 12: You know, I'm thinking like one tree Hill over there
- 37:17Speaker 12: on the East coast, they were the Ravens. And I'm
- 37:19Speaker 12: just thinking, there's a lot of ravens over there on
- 37:21Speaker 12: the East.
- 37:21Speaker 6: Coast, so just generally a lot of birds. Yeah read Maryland. Man,
- 37:24Speaker 6: it's a state bird.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Okay, great, I don't know if it is, but yeah,
- 37:29Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 37:29Speaker 5: And he sounded so convincing there.
- 37:31Speaker 7: The fan was or the owner as a fan of
- 37:37Speaker 7: what's that book with the raven they called raven?
- 37:40Speaker 1: Yeah, the poem. Yeah, guess that's actually what it is. No,
- 37:45Speaker 1: it's not. Yeah, Named after the famous poem The Raven
- 37:48Speaker 1: by Edgar Allan. They spent the latter part of his
- 37:51Speaker 1: life in Baltimore.
- 37:52Speaker 7: I thought, I know, I swear to god, I did
- 37:54Speaker 7: not know that, stated as oriole By the ways, why
- 37:58Speaker 7: it's the Baltimore Orioles.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 38:00Speaker 6: The Bengals read the Tigers, Man, there's a lot of
- 38:03Speaker 6: tigers out there.
- 38:04Speaker 1: This one's kind of a lame because it's literally just
- 38:07Speaker 1: an my Bengal tiger. So there's really no reason. They
- 38:10Speaker 1: just thought a Bengal tiger was cool.
- 38:11Speaker 3: So that one.
- 38:12Speaker 1: We'll skip over that one. The Cleveland Browns read.
- 38:17Speaker 6: Oh boy, the Cleveland Browns. Hmmm, I'm gonna say Cleveland, Man,
- 38:25Speaker 6: it's real dry out there. Everything in the grass gets
- 38:27Speaker 6: real brown, you know, in the heat.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Katie Brown football, you know, Oh the football's brown. That's good.
- 38:35Speaker 1: This one is one of the few that I think
- 38:36Speaker 1: I knew. Do you know this one happened? I don't.
- 38:39Speaker 1: You're at your guests, I'm I'm.
- 38:41Speaker 7: Gonna guess what's their original owner?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, you get the point. You don't have
- 38:46Speaker 1: to get the name. But Yeah, named after their first
- 38:48Speaker 1: coach and co founder, Paul Brown. Yes, the Browns named
- 38:52Speaker 1: after him. That's pretty cool.
- 38:54Speaker 6: Cool.
- 38:54Speaker 1: The Steelers Reed.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Huh.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Hm hmm.
- 39:01Speaker 4: A lot of a lot of mischief going on up.
- 39:03Speaker 1: There, stealings. That's why I went to read first. Spelled
- 39:10Speaker 1: a bit different. But the Steelers, that's all I got.
- 39:13Speaker 12: Man.
- 39:13Speaker 1: I think Kevin will know it. Katie, Oh, I know, okay.
- 39:17Speaker 13: I think steel factories up there, like they're producing steel.
- 39:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna get both you guys, because I think Kevin
- 39:21Speaker 1: knew it. Steel City thought everybody was ripping stuff. How
- 39:26Speaker 1: about that. I think the Texans is easy. Literally, once
- 39:31Speaker 1: the Oilers moved to Nashville to Tennessee, they were just like, Okay,
- 39:35Speaker 1: we're Texan, We're that one's easy. The Colts.
- 39:41Speaker 7: Kevin Baltimore Colts. He liked horses. The original owner.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I can't can't go there.
- 39:56Speaker 4: I was gonna say. It probably has to do with
- 39:58Speaker 4: some sort of like horse uh orse racing, that's exactly it.
- 40:02Speaker 3: So.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Originally located in Baltimore, the team was named for the
- 40:04Speaker 1: city's history of horse racing, Let's go and breeding Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 40:13Speaker 1: This one's interesting. Did not know this and it does
- 40:17Speaker 1: come from a fan submission contest, but there's a specific
- 40:20Speaker 1: reason as to why it won. So Jacksonville Jaguars, Katie.
- 40:25Speaker 12: They someone important was driving a Jaguar everywhere and they
- 40:30Speaker 12: were like, that's all.
- 40:31Speaker 1: That and a breed.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Dang.
- 40:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I was gonna say maybe like the that was
- 40:36Speaker 6: where the Jags were invented.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Like the Jaguar car.
- 40:40Speaker 7: Yeah, Okay, that's a good guess, Okay, Kevin, somebody specific.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Yeah, the.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Jacksonville Zoo owned the oldest living jaguar in North America,
- 40:55Speaker 1: and so because the Jacksonville's who had it, somebody submitted
- 40:58Speaker 1: it with that reason and it won, and there's the
- 41:00Speaker 1: alliteration Jacksonville Jaguar. Yeah, the Titans read hmmm.
- 41:07Speaker 6: I think they just I think it was some kind
- 41:09Speaker 6: of contest and people just wanted something cool and they
- 41:12Speaker 6: made it up.
- 41:13Speaker 1: You know. They did kind of make it out because
- 41:14Speaker 1: it was the oilers, and they were like, what does
- 41:16Speaker 1: it make sense that Tennessee or Nashville oilers because oil
- 41:20Speaker 1: was in Houston, right, So it was basically, let's just
- 41:23Speaker 1: find a cool name, and Titans are powerful gods and
- 41:25Speaker 1: Greek mythology, so it really is nothing except let's just
- 41:27Speaker 1: find a cool name cool and alliteration.
- 41:30Speaker 7: What about Nissan Titans. I just thought about that, Nis,
- 41:32Speaker 7: I've never thought about it before. Nissan Stadium, the Titans,
- 41:34Speaker 7: and the Nissan Titan the truck probably absolutely cool, so
- 41:39Speaker 7: weird coincident.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I've never thought about the coincidence. Yeah, since they have
- 41:43Speaker 1: to pay for the stadium naming rights. Yeah, they're like, yeah,
- 41:47Speaker 1: I don't think that. Probably a coincidence. They never thought
- 41:50Speaker 1: about that, right, all right? The Broncos Kevin.
- 41:59Speaker 7: Denver is known for having Broncos the trucks.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Oh, okay, I'll take you ile accept it, but not true, Reid.
- 42:08Speaker 4: I'll say, in.
- 42:09Speaker 6: Denver, out there and you would be surprised, but there's
- 42:11Speaker 6: a lot of cowboys and a lot of buck and
- 42:15Speaker 6: Bronco Broncos.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Okay, no, but like Katie, maybe.
- 42:20Speaker 13: That's where OJ was headed before he had to stop
- 42:23Speaker 13: his little race.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Perfect, not at all. But the reason, and I didn't
- 42:29Speaker 1: know this, but the reason was because there were the
- 42:31Speaker 1: Denver Broncos Midwest Baseball team back in the Midwest Baseball
- 42:34Speaker 1: League back in the twenties, and they named him kind
- 42:37Speaker 1: of to pay tribute to that, and they liked the name,
- 42:39Speaker 1: so they kept it going.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Wow.
- 42:41Speaker 1: The Chiefs Kansaity Chiefs Reid.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean a lot of a lot of
- 42:48Speaker 4: Indian tribes out there.
- 42:49Speaker 1: No, and I don't think anyone would get this. They
- 42:51Speaker 1: were Rena So originally they were the Dallas Texans, so
- 42:54Speaker 1: the Texans before the Cowboys. The Dallas Texans were in Dallas.
- 42:59Speaker 1: They moved to Kansas City and they were named after
- 43:03Speaker 1: Mayor H. Rowe Bartle, whose nickname was the Chief. Oh
- 43:09Speaker 1: that is cool, so they called himselves the Chiefs after him.
- 43:12Speaker 1: But then obviously they took a lot of the imagery
- 43:14Speaker 1: from Native Americans. But the Raiders, that's I mean, it's
- 43:20Speaker 1: it's a fan contest, like it's like re thought what
- 43:23Speaker 1: the Steelers were like? Looters, pirates the Chargers?
- 43:32Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 43:36Speaker 1: What do you think the Chargers? Why they were named that.
- 43:38Speaker 7: Lightning bolts San Diego lightning bolts.
- 43:46Speaker 1: They weren't originally in San Diego. Just for the record,
- 43:51Speaker 1: anyone want to take a shot.
- 43:52Speaker 7: Of this to guess they were originally somewhere with a
- 43:55Speaker 7: lot of storms and a lot of lighting.
- 43:57Speaker 1: So they originally were in Los Angeles before they went
- 43:59Speaker 1: to San Diego. Then back to Los Angeles and the
- 44:03Speaker 1: owner Baron Hilton, loved the bugle called to charge a horse,
- 44:09Speaker 1: so they were a charger, not even the lights. The
- 44:11Speaker 1: lights calls came as the imagery of the name, but
- 44:13Speaker 1: the Chargers were just the forward push.
- 44:15Speaker 4: I was thinking solar panels.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yeah, no energy. It is now the Dallas Cowboys.
- 44:20Speaker 13: That's a tough one, just Texas, you know.
- 44:25Speaker 1: So the Dallas Steers were scheduled to become the Rangers
- 44:30Speaker 1: until a local baseball team, the Rangers, decided not to
- 44:34Speaker 1: fold before the nineteen sixty season. The name of the
- 44:37Speaker 1: Dallas Steers was quickly changed to the Cowboys before the
- 44:39Speaker 1: beginning of the season, like, well, we'll just go with Cowboys.
- 44:42Speaker 7: Wow, commanders take notes.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Stuck New York Giants.
- 44:51Speaker 13: A lot of teams up there. They just want to
- 44:53Speaker 13: be the biggest.
- 44:53Speaker 1: They want to be the biggest.
- 44:54Speaker 4: I say, a lot of tall buildings.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Oh that's good. It's actually because the New York Giants
- 45:01Speaker 1: ended up moving to San Francisco and baseball, so they
- 45:03Speaker 1: just changed it to what the baseball team was, the
- 45:05Speaker 1: New York Giants because the New York Giants were the
- 45:07Speaker 1: Giants in baseball as well. They moved the Eagles, you know,
- 45:13Speaker 1: not what I thought. I thought it'd be named after
- 45:15Speaker 1: like America's bald eagles. That's not it. You're not going
- 45:19Speaker 1: to get this. But named after the blue Eagle as
- 45:21Speaker 1: symbol used for the New Deal programs during the Great Depression.
- 45:24Speaker 1: What if one of us said that, Yeah, I thought
- 45:27Speaker 1: you cheated. Yeah, the Commander's Military theme DC. That's new.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Just a couple more here. Chicago Bears. This one's good.
- 45:41Speaker 12: One time there was a bear that broke loose in
- 45:42Speaker 12: the city and they just aided to name the team
- 45:44Speaker 12: after it.
- 45:45Speaker 4: Not it, but I like it, Smokey the Bear.
- 45:47Speaker 1: The Bears were named to complement the Cubs.
- 45:50Speaker 7: Oh, as I'm looking, I'm looking at your hat, trying
- 45:53Speaker 7: to think of the things right now, and I'm like
- 45:56Speaker 7: looking at it.
- 45:56Speaker 1: The Bears were named after the Cubs that already existed,
- 45:59Speaker 1: so the Bears came in. Did you just be a version,
- 46:01Speaker 1: like an older version, tougher version of the Cubs?
- 46:03Speaker 5: That's cool.
- 46:04Speaker 1: The Detroit Lions Lion Pride.
- 46:09Speaker 7: They're big on zoos out there and lions and their zoos.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Mm hmmm.
- 46:15Speaker 1: I think it's just like lions. Think that was only
- 46:17Speaker 1: literally like lions. The Packers's.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Backing.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Yeah, named after the Indian packing company, a meat packing
- 46:30Speaker 1: company that sponsored the team. Still is that that's crazy
- 46:34Speaker 1: that it's named after a It's a commercial basically for
- 46:36Speaker 1: them back in the day. You paid enough money, you
- 46:37Speaker 1: get to name the team. Minnesota, Minnesota Vikings. They like
- 46:44Speaker 1: Vikings a lot of Scandinavian evenmer you know the horn
- 46:49Speaker 1: de whatever that is that plays. Okay, one more division
- 46:52Speaker 1: maybe to the Falcons that you know that was a
- 46:57Speaker 1: fan contest and they were just like, we like falcons,
- 47:00Speaker 1: they're cool. So some of those who cares. The Panthers
- 47:04Speaker 1: chosen at the time by the owner Jerry Richardson, because
- 47:06Speaker 1: he thought powers were Panthers were strong. That's a boring one.
- 47:10Speaker 1: The Saints, this is a good one. The New Orleans Saints.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Has something to do with that city.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly it. When the Saints go marching in,
- 47:20Speaker 1: named after the city's rich Catholic heritage and the jazz
- 47:22Speaker 1: song when the Saints go marching in? Pretty cool? Was
- 47:25Speaker 1: marching on? When the Saints go marching and you thought
- 47:29Speaker 1: it was on?
- 47:30Speaker 13: Maybe that changes halfway through the song? Are they?
- 47:33Speaker 3: I don't know that.
- 47:36Speaker 1: The Bucks Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a name the team contest,
- 47:42Speaker 1: but also other ties of the area include the local
- 47:44Speaker 1: legend of pirate Jose gaspar who honored in the Gasparilla
- 47:48Speaker 1: Pirate Festival, but that was all based in people naming
- 47:52Speaker 1: it because of that. Like man for more of the Cardinals.
- 47:56Speaker 1: They began as the Morgan Athletic Club. They started in
- 47:59Speaker 1: Chicago in eighteen ninety eight. The organization planned to wear
- 48:02Speaker 1: maroon colored jerseys that were borrowed from the University of Chicago,
- 48:05Speaker 1: but the owner of Chris O'Brien deemed them Cardinal red instead,
- 48:10Speaker 1: and so the name stuck with them. So Saint Louis
- 48:12Speaker 1: they went. The Birds they went to Saint Louis. Saint
- 48:14Speaker 1: Louis Cardinals. It was the Cardinal Red, but the Saint
- 48:16Speaker 1: Louis Cardinals, and they put a little cardinal and now
- 48:17Speaker 1: we think of them as the Cardinal Bird. The Cardinal
- 48:20Speaker 1: Bird did not appear until nineteen forty seven, so for
- 48:25Speaker 1: forty eight forty nine years they were known as Saint
- 48:27Speaker 1: Louis Cardinals, but red Cardinals. Wow, it's like the Blues,
- 48:32Speaker 1: but the blues St.
- 48:33Speaker 5: Lewis Blues.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the blues. I don't know, is that
- 48:35Speaker 1: music Yeah, is that the color? But did it turn
- 48:38Speaker 1: into the music where they logo?
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 48:40Speaker 1: Were they originally named after the color?
- 48:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 48:42Speaker 1: The Rams the team was from Cleveland. It was named
- 48:44Speaker 1: after the Fordham Rams, a college football team in Cleveland.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Wow.
- 48:47Speaker 1: The forty nine ers named after the prospectors who arrived
- 48:50Speaker 1: during the gold Rush of eighteen forty nine, which Eddie
- 48:52Speaker 1: yealed fools gold about? Yeah, what was that?
- 48:56Speaker 3: Brock?
- 48:56Speaker 1: Who do you say that? Pardier? And the Seahawks. It
- 48:59Speaker 1: was named the team contest. It was chosen over other
- 49:02Speaker 1: birds like the seagulls. Oh, thank god. I don't know
- 49:07Speaker 1: there is a real something named a seahawk, like a
- 49:09Speaker 1: real I think it's just a generic name for hawks
- 49:13Speaker 1: on the sea.
- 49:14Speaker 13: Probably.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know there's a like a specific seahawk,
- 49:19Speaker 1: not a real bird, not a real bird.
- 49:21Speaker 6: It's what you say when, like you see a seagull
- 49:22Speaker 6: and you just see them flying, look at it. Not
- 49:25Speaker 6: real seahawk, be good baseball. I've never said look at
- 49:28Speaker 6: that seahawk. Oh, I'm just man like, you know, you
- 49:31Speaker 6: don't want to say, oh, look at that seagull. You
- 49:33Speaker 6: know it's a it's a seagull. But it's it's you know,
- 49:36Speaker 6: you're at the beach, You're like, look at that seahawk
- 49:38Speaker 6: over there.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Man, I would never say seahawks all right, not at all.
- 49:43Speaker 1: We had the appetizer last week. Now it's time to
- 49:45Speaker 1: eat college football's back. Don't miss any of the action.

- 51:30Speaker 1: guys go? I don't know A couple spots.
- 51:34Speaker 8: Fair enough?
- 51:34Speaker 2: Fair enough.
- 51:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 51:35Speaker 2: See I see now we went we uh, we're by
- 51:39Speaker 2: Central Park. That's what kind of what nobody says it.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Nobody yells that. Everyone yells in you or Eddie's just yelling,
- 51:47Speaker 1: acting like it's an accent or something.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Sorry, we just got back. I'm still in that New
- 51:50Speaker 2: York state of mine.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Okay, hey, taxi. We stayed at the Thompson Hotel. Familiar, yes,
- 51:56Speaker 1: I am ok. And then we went to fin Exprest,
- 52:00Speaker 1: which was in the Convention Center.
- 52:03Speaker 7: Cut covids or cod cod SuDS or something.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but you can tell we need nothing.
- 52:07Speaker 3: We have no idea.
- 52:09Speaker 1: We went to dinner at a fancy place.
- 52:11Speaker 8: Okay, you know that's fancy place. Yeah, five Stars.
- 52:14Speaker 2: That was on Washington Square.
- 52:16Speaker 8: That was Washington was right, very nice.
- 52:18Speaker 1: We went to dinner. It was me, my agent, Eddie,
- 52:22Speaker 1: and Rich Eisen, who is also from Long Island.
- 52:27Speaker 8: Yeah, he's from Staten Island.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Good. I knew it was one of the islands, but
- 52:30Speaker 1: he was rich. And he was like, man, where we're going.
- 52:34Speaker 1: It used to be like local and home and now
- 52:37Speaker 1: it's like a mall. It's like the city. Man's always
- 52:40Speaker 1: a lot changed.
- 52:42Speaker 12: Kid.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Yeah, as a kid man.
- 52:44Speaker 2: What was weird too, is where we were eating dinner.
- 52:46Speaker 2: You can look across the window and like, there's someone's apartment.
- 52:50Speaker 2: They're like making dinner. Yeah, like, oh, you.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Can look in the window. Weird, we were looking the window.
- 52:55Speaker 8: It's not quite a quite a thing.
- 52:57Speaker 1: So what are you a jetskuy or Giants guy?
- 52:58Speaker 8: So I'm a Jet fan?
- 52:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I remember that.
- 53:00Speaker 14: Yeah, so you guys were talking about Hard Knocks earlier.
- 53:02Speaker 14: I have not watched because last year was the Jets
- 53:06Speaker 14: and uh, you know, as things turned out Week one,
- 53:10Speaker 14: I feel like it was a curse.
- 53:11Speaker 8: So I can't watch anymore.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Well, the curse would be on the Bears then.
- 53:15Speaker 8: Right, I think, I don't know watching period.
- 53:19Speaker 1: If it's just you watching any season of Hard Knocks,
- 53:21Speaker 1: it hurts the Jets. That's a weird thought.
- 53:23Speaker 8: I mean the Madden cover thing is the thing. I
- 53:26Speaker 8: don't know who's on this year.
- 53:28Speaker 1: That's Christian mccafffrey, who's already hurt. Oh yeah, yeah, but
- 53:31Speaker 1: McCaffrey has been hurt almost every year except last year.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Anywhere last year And yeah, I know, I know, which
- 53:36Speaker 1: makes me didn't think and I'm listen, I know what
- 53:38Speaker 1: it's like to be a superb athlete, you know, yeah, yeah,
- 53:41Speaker 1: MVP of course, yeah yeah. But it's like it's a
- 53:43Speaker 1: lot more. It's easier to be heard and not as
- 53:46Speaker 1: hard to be heard if you're on the Panthers, let's
- 53:47Speaker 1: be honest, and the forty nine ers, maybe don't rush
- 53:50Speaker 1: it back so fast. When you're playing at Carolina with
- 53:52Speaker 1: San Francisco, you probably push it now. You go a
- 53:54Speaker 1: little harder a little bit. And Jets offensive line much
- 53:58Speaker 1: better than last year.
- 53:58Speaker 8: Much better.
- 53:59Speaker 14: Yeah, tyrons Smith from uh ladies Cowboys over here myth
- 54:02Speaker 14: so that should be helpful. So uh yeah, I'm actually
- 54:06Speaker 14: going to the game week two, the Jets are coming
- 54:08Speaker 14: here to Tennessee.
- 54:09Speaker 8: I'm actually going with Pop.
- 54:10Speaker 14: So I'm excited when the Jets are playing Monday night
- 54:13Speaker 14: against the forty nine Ers exact actually for Monday Night.
- 54:17Speaker 1: So I'm just hoping what week one?
- 54:18Speaker 8: Week one?
- 54:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a long travel game.
- 54:20Speaker 14: Long travel game, and I'm after what happened last year,
- 54:22Speaker 14: I'm just hoping he can make it at least one week,
- 54:25Speaker 14: So Rozie and play Rogers.
- 54:27Speaker 1: In the Green in the gang Green Jersey did when
- 54:30Speaker 1: they listened the top one hundred players in the NFL
- 54:32Speaker 1: this year and they were showing like a great play
- 54:33Speaker 1: from them for last year. Did you see Rogers uh
- 54:36Speaker 1: leaving the one play where he just took the flag out.
- 54:38Speaker 1: That's what they used for him for the player like
- 54:41Speaker 1: number ninety or whatever it was. And the one play
- 54:43Speaker 1: they used for him was him running with the flag. Yeah,
- 54:45Speaker 1: that was that was it, which was pretty hilarious Downhill.
- 54:49Speaker 1: What is a Jets fan like? I felt that beca
- 54:52Speaker 1: I'm a Cubs fan and I'm a razorback from that, Yeah,
- 54:53Speaker 1: you can, you can.
- 54:54Speaker 3: We lose.
- 54:55Speaker 1: We lose, right, we just generally lose.
- 54:57Speaker 14: But you had that moment though, You had the moment
- 55:00Speaker 14: World Series moment, and I was saying, like, I haven't
- 55:01Speaker 14: had that moment yet with the Jets.
- 55:05Speaker 2: He wasn't around.
- 55:06Speaker 14: My dad was six years old. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 55:10Speaker 14: uh yeah. It's uh, it's been a rough, rough go around.
- 55:13Speaker 1: But it'd be tough to be a Jets fan. Yeah,
- 55:15Speaker 1: but also I think a positive the Giants also suck.
- 55:18Speaker 8: That's true.
- 55:19Speaker 1: It'd be much harder if the Giants were great.
- 55:22Speaker 14: Yeah yeah, but you know, it just seems like with
- 55:24Speaker 14: the Giants, like it's gonna happen sometime soon. Like I
- 55:27Speaker 14: feel like they're just better run generally. I mean, maybe
- 55:31Speaker 14: not these last couple of years, but I feel like
- 55:33Speaker 14: they have the opportunity to kind of get there, you
- 55:35Speaker 14: know what, together well.
- 55:36Speaker 1: And the Giants do have an offensive minor head coach,
- 55:38Speaker 1: where with Solid he's a defense guy in offense leader.
- 55:41Speaker 8: He's from three hundred. I know, he's uh, you know,
- 55:44Speaker 8: he's not so great.
- 55:46Speaker 1: So what would be a good season for you this year?
- 55:49Speaker 1: How many wins?
- 55:50Speaker 14: I mean I would just nine and well, yeah, I
- 55:54Speaker 14: guess now with the you got to go more than yeah, well,
- 55:57Speaker 14: I would love ten plus wins, But I don't know.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Man ten seven and Aaron Rodgers plays, that's floor, right,
- 56:05Speaker 1: I mean they're gonna be. There's two Patriot wins. We'll see.
- 56:10Speaker 8: I don't know, you guys, you know I brought yeah,
- 56:14Speaker 8: but that's you know, I'm not I don't know.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Two Patriots wins, one Titans win. There's three wins already there.
- 56:20Speaker 1: So nine wins for you, is that's that's a quality year.
- 56:23Speaker 8: I mean, I guess, yeah, I would be thrilled.
- 56:25Speaker 14: But the last couple of years, you know, and you know,
- 56:28Speaker 14: we had Donald before this, before the Zach Wilson thing
- 56:31Speaker 14: with Adam Gase.
- 56:32Speaker 8: I mean, it's.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Anybody had Gase. Like, that's why I give Sam a chance.
- 56:36Speaker 1: If Adam Gase is your coach in your quarterback, Yeah,
- 56:40Speaker 1: that didn't count. No, that that shouldn't count against you.
- 56:42Speaker 5: It's like COVID.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like that shouldn't count. And playing for the
- 56:46Speaker 1: Panthers shouldn't count against you. And that's all Sam Donald
- 56:49Speaker 1: has had until he got to go, you know, play
- 56:51Speaker 1: back up there with a good team. Yeah, well, you
- 56:54Speaker 1: know what case we're rooting for you, buddy, I appreciate it.
- 56:57Speaker 5: You're not You're not gonna win.
- 56:58Speaker 2: You're not.
- 56:59Speaker 5: I don't but yeah, we're not gonna win.
- 57:01Speaker 7: But there's no way I would ever, ever, ever root
- 57:05Speaker 7: for a New York team. But what about a team
- 57:08Speaker 7: that's I'm sorry, casey person.
- 57:09Speaker 1: What about a team that's been terrible forever and I
- 57:11Speaker 1: don't care it's.
- 57:14Speaker 8: Twenty ten, that's yeah.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Then why don't we find joined Kevin's miserable season this year?
