- 0:00Speaker 1: We all carry an inner vibration that is created from
- 0:04Speaker 1: our thoughts, you know, and our thoughts carry vibrations. So
- 0:08Speaker 1: if we're constantly you know, telling ourselves all, you know,
- 0:12Speaker 1: I'm not enough, that is a vibration. And I've had
- 0:15Speaker 1: to completely change the vibration that I walk around in
- 0:22Speaker 1: because I you know, I kind of had an e
- 0:27Speaker 1: or kind of energy as a mother. You know, everything
- 0:30Speaker 1: was you know, so I really changed everything and just
- 0:35Speaker 1: really have focused, I would say, for the past ten
- 0:38Speaker 1: years of creating, you know, the inner energy that is abundance.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Welcome Mom's Welcome inside the Mom's Club. I'm your host,
- 0:51Speaker 2: Manka Samuels, and I'm here with my lovely co host,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Julie Orchid his darling.
- 0:57Speaker 3: How are you?
- 0:57Speaker 2: I am excellent? Get well pretty?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Look are yea?
- 1:01Speaker 2: And we have with us today and we were so
- 1:03Speaker 2: excited to have her Alisa Alexander he also co hosts
- 1:08Speaker 2: with us because and we love Alisa has amazing energy
- 1:12Speaker 2: and she's so much fun. And you know, our tagline
- 1:15Speaker 2: is if you don't laugh, some times, you're gonna cry.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Julie and I have had a little bit of a
- 1:20Speaker 2: rough week, so there have been times we wanted to cry.
- 1:21Speaker 2: But we are here to laugh and have fun. And
- 1:24Speaker 2: that's why we brought some sunshine and and that's a
- 1:27Speaker 2: word so cute us today. So glad to be here.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yeah, so glad you're here.
- 1:33Speaker 2: So we're gonna get a little bit more into this
- 1:35Speaker 2: when we talk to our guests. But I have been
- 1:38Speaker 2: told lately that I need to work on my gratitudes,
- 1:42Speaker 2: oh like every day talking about what I'm grateful for.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I guess sure, and I've been. I've been given a
- 1:49Speaker 2: lot of recommendations for apps to record that, so but
- 1:53Speaker 2: I don't think that's gotten me where I need to, Like,
- 1:56Speaker 2: what do you do? Do you record your daily gratitudes about?
- 2:00Speaker 2: You'll have to give me some ideas how I'm supposed
- 2:02Speaker 2: to go about this, because I keep getting questioned, hey,
- 2:04Speaker 2: have you been keeping up with your gratitudes?
- 2:06Speaker 4: Well, Alisa and I are experts.
- 2:07Speaker 5: There we go. I mean, of course, for me, it's
- 2:13Speaker 5: just I'm thankful for you know, I'll just wake up
- 2:15Speaker 5: in the morning, but I'm thankful for I mean, honestly,
- 2:18Speaker 5: I don't know anybody who couldn't wake up with that.
- 2:21Speaker 5: I regret or I wish, but instead for me, it's
- 2:24Speaker 5: just I'm thankful for. So those are my gratitudes.
- 2:27Speaker 2: That's my method, and you don't have to write it down.
- 2:29Speaker 5: I don't have to write it down. No, but I
- 2:31Speaker 5: can't say that that's a bad idea. In fact, I
- 2:34Speaker 5: think it would help me level it up, you know,
- 2:36Speaker 5: to be honest. But yeah, but to wake up in
- 2:39Speaker 5: the morning and my first thought to be what I'm
- 2:41Speaker 5: grateful for, what I'm thankful for, puts me in the
- 2:43Speaker 5: right space.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more. I love how
- 2:48Speaker 3: simple that you make that I am thankful for. We
- 2:51Speaker 3: don't have to make this rocket science or go that
- 2:54Speaker 3: deep into it.
- 2:54Speaker 4: And I do journal.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I don't journal every day, but this is what I
- 2:59Speaker 3: love about the journal is that you actually get to
- 3:03Speaker 3: go back and read what you wrote, maybe a year ago,
- 3:07Speaker 3: maybe you know, two years ago, you know, and every
- 3:10Speaker 3: day you wrote something that you're like, oh my gosh,
- 3:13Speaker 3: and it sparks a memory. So that part I love.
- 3:16Speaker 3: But I will also say lately, I have this as
- 3:18Speaker 3: an example, the kids. I have two children, nineteen and
- 3:22Speaker 3: twenty three. They're girls, and I was grateful the other
- 3:26Speaker 3: they both called me separately and says I love you, mom.
- 3:29Speaker 3: And that was the simple message. And I was like,
- 3:32Speaker 3: I am grateful to hear that today and everything else
- 3:37Speaker 3: is you know that that is I really grasped onto that,
- 3:41Speaker 3: and that is my speech about that.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Jolly knows me well enough, because actually, you know, as
- 3:46Speaker 2: an attorney by trade, I tend to be very organized
- 3:49Speaker 2: about things. So I thought, well, I can't really start
- 3:51Speaker 2: this gratitude thing until I've gotten the.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Right Oh, you have to do the research.
- 3:55Speaker 2: You organized with it right now? I like, yeah, if
- 3:58Speaker 2: it's as simple as waking up, and so it could
- 4:00Speaker 2: be grateful that I woke up today. Yeah, yeah, there's
- 4:04Speaker 2: a good Yeah. No, I like that. I love it.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Keep it simple, that's right. Yeah, that's all good. Well
- 4:09Speaker 2: that's so simple.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Do you all use any of those apps? Because I
- 4:13Speaker 2: do have one friend who I'm not joking. She starts
- 4:15Speaker 2: to panic like we would be on a wall and
- 4:17Speaker 2: she's like, oh my gosh, I forgot to put my
- 4:20Speaker 2: gratitudes down.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Oh my app, because you got to go to the
- 4:23Speaker 4: app like.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Did they give you points or something like?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Hell, I mean that stuff for I have a few apps,
- 4:29Speaker 3: but I don't always use them because like my brain
- 4:32Speaker 3: is overwhelmed by my phone already. Hello, So come on,
- 4:36Speaker 3: my serious seriously come yeah. So, like we have to
- 4:39Speaker 3: remember the phone as a tool to really connect with
- 4:43Speaker 3: other people and not necessarily.
- 4:46Speaker 4: You know, I like to read.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I do write in my notes app, and you know,
- 4:50Speaker 3: if I'm sitting in a doctor's office, I do like
- 4:52Speaker 3: to read that. So I can't keep up with all
- 4:54Speaker 3: that Monica, you.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Know that writing my notes up too. But you know what,
- 4:58Speaker 2: I need to learn to type better with my thumb
- 5:00Speaker 2: because Okay, I put my an Apple ID into my
- 5:04Speaker 2: notes app, but evidently I mistyped it. So when I
- 5:07Speaker 2: went back, Yah, figure it out, I was, Oh, I
- 5:10Speaker 2: figured it out in me.
- 5:12Speaker 4: I know it's really the textology.
- 5:13Speaker 2: That's so maybe I won't.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Deal with a credit lie. It's a lie.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I will just I will just get up and be grateful. Well,
- 5:22Speaker 2: let's talk along these lines. Let's get all excited about
- 5:26Speaker 2: gratitude and well and abundance. And with that, I will
- 5:30Speaker 2: introduce our guests today, which we're so excited. She's an
- 5:32Speaker 2: award winning television host, three time best selling author, and
- 5:36Speaker 2: internationally recognized Sacred Space lifestyle designer. She's the host of
- 5:41Speaker 2: Living Abundantly with Sarah V, which airs on w l
- 5:44Speaker 2: N Y fifty five Philly fifty seven kpi x plus
- 5:49Speaker 2: and YouTube, where she inspires conversations about living with greater purpose,
- 5:53Speaker 2: peace and abundance. Yeah, okay, we can all use please
- 5:56Speaker 2: welcome Sarah V. Welcome to the Sorry, this is so fun.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I was just like, oh, this is a great conversation
- 6:04Speaker 1: about about gratitude and journaling because you know, it's definitely
- 6:09Speaker 1: a practice that I, you know, I do on a
- 6:11Speaker 1: consistent basis. So I was just like, oh, this is interesting.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Well, tell us how you do because you're the we
- 6:18Speaker 2: regard you as the expert here, Yes, tell us what
- 6:21Speaker 2: you do to like what do you what do you
- 6:22Speaker 2: what kind of gratitudes? Like are you grateful for your family,
- 6:26Speaker 2: breathing the city you love? Like what kind of things
- 6:28Speaker 2: do you say?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Every And I and I'm not just saying this, but
- 6:31Speaker 1: every single morning for the past I don't know, five years,
- 6:36Speaker 1: I get up and that is the first thing that
- 6:38Speaker 1: I do. Well, of course, make my beautiful cappuccino. But
- 6:42Speaker 1: you know, as I'm drinking my beautiful cappuccino, I just
- 6:46Speaker 1: you know, I'm just really grateful for right now is
- 6:50Speaker 1: for a really healthy deep sleep, you know, and I
- 6:54Speaker 1: just you know, even just like the simplest things, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: it's nothing, nothing around. But I definitely do that on
- 7:02Speaker 1: a consistent basis. And you were saying about writing things down,
- 7:07Speaker 1: that is a practice that actually creates the even more
- 7:11Speaker 1: of the grateful, gratitude, joyful energy that we hold inside.
- 7:17Speaker 1: And that's kind of you know, leads me into with
- 7:20Speaker 1: my show is I really believe that you know, who
- 7:24Speaker 1: we are, who we are being is what we then attract.
- 7:28Speaker 1: So if we're feeling extra grateful and joyful and abundant,
- 7:34Speaker 1: then we keep attracting that on the outside. So love
- 7:38Speaker 1: the conversation. I think it's really really important.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Well you just touched on it. So tell us about
- 7:43Speaker 2: living abundantly. How can we do that? Tell us share
- 7:47Speaker 2: with our audience what the moms out there can be doing.
- 7:50Speaker 1: How can you live abundantly? Again, it's an inside job.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You know. Many of our society thinks that abundance is
- 8:00Speaker 1: you know, bigger house, fancier car, sparking, you know, more
- 8:04Speaker 1: sparkly jewelry. But I have completely debunked that idea and
- 8:13Speaker 1: living abundantly or abundance is a vibration, you know, for
- 8:17Speaker 1: maybe people that don't really understand that. You know, we
- 8:20Speaker 1: all carry an inner vibration that is created from our thoughts,
- 8:26Speaker 1: you know, and our thoughts carry vibrations. So if we're
- 8:29Speaker 1: constantly you know, telling ourselves all, you know, I'm not enough,
- 8:33Speaker 1: that is a vibration. And I've had to completely change
- 8:39Speaker 1: the vibration that I walk around in because I you know,
- 8:45Speaker 1: I kind of had an e or kind of energy
- 8:48Speaker 1: as a mother. You know, everything was, you know, so
- 8:52Speaker 1: I really changed everything and just really have focused, i
- 8:57Speaker 1: would say, for the past ten years of creating, you know,
- 9:01Speaker 1: the inner energy that is abundance. You know, it is
- 9:06Speaker 1: not about things. It is about who we are being,
- 9:09Speaker 1: what we are feeling inside.
- 9:12Speaker 3: And I love that because that's really what you have
- 9:14Speaker 3: control over. We don't necessarily have control all of those
- 9:18Speaker 3: other things that you think that bring you happiness. So
- 9:21Speaker 3: I love what you have to say about that. And
- 9:23Speaker 3: I love the fact that, well, first of all, ere
- 9:26Speaker 3: is my favorite character, right I think that might be Lisa, you.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Know what I mean. Like it's just that everything you know,
- 9:34Speaker 1: and you'd say, oh, Mom, look the sky is blue,
- 9:37Speaker 1: and it's like, well there are clouds, you know, and
- 9:42Speaker 1: poor gets a very bad run now.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Exactly, it's just too sweet. My question to you is,
- 9:50Speaker 3: how did this come about? Was there a life event?
- 9:53Speaker 3: I mean, you really do have to channel into your
- 9:56Speaker 3: vibration to actually pick this type of uh work that
- 10:01Speaker 3: you do and share it with people. What event in
- 10:04Speaker 3: your life came about that you're like, this is what
- 10:06Speaker 3: I'm going to do.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Well. I mean it may sound, you know, not so nice,
- 10:12Speaker 1: but I think leaving leaving my marriage was like the
- 10:16Speaker 1: first uh indication that I was someone else. Like I
- 10:21Speaker 1: always felt like, you know, my my light was being
- 10:25Speaker 1: dimmed in my marriage. And and and actually what I
- 10:30Speaker 1: call my my former husband my husband, and we we
- 10:35Speaker 1: we have a very a very you know, a very
- 10:39Speaker 1: different but friendly relationship. We both and I never say X,
- 10:44Speaker 1: I never say, you know, I'm divorced. I say my
- 10:46Speaker 1: marriage was complete. And I think that that was kind
- 10:50Speaker 1: of the light bulb moment, like all of a sudden,
- 10:53Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my gosh, look at all this possibility
- 10:57Speaker 1: that I could actually step into. You know, first it
- 10:59Speaker 1: was books, then it was this show. So my one book,
- 11:06Speaker 1: my third book that I wrote, was all about the
- 11:10Speaker 1: inner energy and aligning. You know, it's a simple process
- 11:14Speaker 1: to align your chakras to feel this incredible abundance. And
- 11:20Speaker 1: and you know, in my book, I talk about, you know,
- 11:24Speaker 1: everything is a vibration, Like even what you wear is
- 11:27Speaker 1: a vibration. I'm thank goodness, I'm I'm all about that
- 11:30Speaker 1: because I love clothes. But you know, what we wear,
- 11:33Speaker 1: what we put into our bodies, what colors we surround
- 11:37Speaker 1: ourselves with. And I practiced that. I was, you know,
- 11:42Speaker 1: you know, really determined to live like I was writing,
- 11:47Speaker 1: Like I didn't just write it and then you know,
- 11:49Speaker 1: hope that other people caught onto it like I lived
- 11:52Speaker 1: this like I you know, I wore the colors and
- 11:56Speaker 1: it and I mostly worked on my you know what
- 11:59Speaker 1: I what I was saying to myself, which was a
- 12:03Speaker 1: huge shift. I mean it was a huge shift. So
- 12:07Speaker 1: getting back to your your question, I think the light
- 12:11Speaker 1: bulb went on when I became started to become, you know,
- 12:16Speaker 1: authentically myself because I never I never felt I mean
- 12:20Speaker 1: I was married for thirty years and I never felt
- 12:25Speaker 1: one hundred percent. I felt about maybe seventy percent. But
- 12:29Speaker 1: then when I when I when I left the kind
- 12:32Speaker 1: of structure of marriage, I just had a completely I
- 12:38Speaker 1: mean that was almost seven years ago and ever since then,
- 12:41Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my god, I can do this, I
- 12:43Speaker 1: can go there, I can you know, feel the fear
- 12:45Speaker 1: and do it anywaycourage. We did a whole segment on
- 12:49Speaker 1: my show about you know, feeling the fear and doing
- 12:52Speaker 1: it anyway. So yeah, So if that answers your question, So.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Was that that a process of time? Like you said,
- 13:00Speaker 2: a light bulb went off. But for a lot of
- 13:01Speaker 2: I know, a lot of moms out there are like
- 13:04Speaker 2: I'm depressed, this is bad life, or I'm getting a
- 13:07Speaker 2: you know, I'm ending my marriage whatever, and they get
- 13:09Speaker 2: in this funk and so you're an inspiration that they
- 13:13Speaker 2: don't have to stay there. But it's not easy to
- 13:16Speaker 2: get out of that.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and I don't. Oh my god, it was
- 13:19Speaker 1: the hardest. It was like going through like quicksand and
- 13:24Speaker 1: then mud and then I could come up and then
- 13:26Speaker 1: you know, it is a process, and it's still a process,
- 13:30Speaker 1: and that you know, I always say, you know, if
- 13:32Speaker 1: you're if you're dead, you're done. So it is a
- 13:35Speaker 1: complete process to continue practicing. You know. I'm I'm very aware.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I do meditation every day, I journal every day, So
- 13:44Speaker 1: it isn't just like, okay, now, I'm good. Like it
- 13:47Speaker 1: is a process of retraining those neuropathways in your brain
- 13:52Speaker 1: so that you can identify with you know, someone else.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Yes, I mean, I can thank you enough for being
- 14:02Speaker 3: so real and raw, because very much so. I never
- 14:06Speaker 3: thought in a million years I would say this, But
- 14:08Speaker 3: I am full of gratitude that I am no longer
- 14:11Speaker 3: married because I was unable to. There are so many
- 14:15Speaker 3: things in the past six years that I would not
- 14:18Speaker 3: have been able to do.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Now.
- 14:19Speaker 3: I'm not blaming that on anything, but like you said,
- 14:22Speaker 3: I never truly felt like I could reach my potential
- 14:25Speaker 3: on the person that I wanted to be. So thanks
- 14:28Speaker 3: for bringing that to the surface.
- 14:29Speaker 5: I love that, right, And I love this concept of
- 14:32Speaker 5: husband right. I mean, who had even heard of that
- 14:35Speaker 5: before today? Sarah, that's so awesome.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I love that.
- 14:39Speaker 5: A lot of what I'm hearing you reference is reframing, right,
- 14:43Speaker 5: going back and reframing. Can you just speak to that
- 14:45Speaker 5: for a moment, because I think moms need that word,
- 14:48Speaker 5: need that encouragement.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, reframing, And so you know all that
- 14:54Speaker 1: I've done every modality, I've done tapping, I've done nero,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and I'll pay neural luquid programming, you name it, I've
- 15:01Speaker 1: done it. But you know it is about you know,
- 15:06Speaker 1: we identify with, you know, usually a kind of scarcity mindset.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You know that I'm not enough and I can't do this,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and you know, fear takes over, so we identify with
- 15:19Speaker 1: that woman. So what we what reframing is is you
- 15:23Speaker 1: reframe the story that has a more abundant, you know, identity.
- 15:30Speaker 1: So I am a completely different I mean, I wish
- 15:32Speaker 1: people could get into my mind and like see how
- 15:36Speaker 1: how different I am from where I am now to
- 15:39Speaker 1: where I was in my marriage. The things that I like,
- 15:41Speaker 1: look back, I'm like, oh my god, did I actually
- 15:45Speaker 1: accept that? Did you know? Was I? We? We did?
- 15:49Speaker 1: We did? We did.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Let's just say that.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, it's just it's because if you ever
- 15:56Speaker 1: behaved the way or if anybody spoke to me or
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know, told me the things that my husband said
- 16:03Speaker 1: to me years ago, I would there is no way
- 16:08Speaker 1: that I would be aligned with how you know, how
- 16:12Speaker 1: how different I am now. And it really is so
- 16:17Speaker 1: fascinating And you know, I love I love the and
- 16:21Speaker 1: and on my show, I'll just kind of put this
- 16:23Speaker 1: in is like on my show. I am so much
- 16:28Speaker 1: more interested. I mean, I have amazing celebrities. I have
- 16:32Speaker 1: you know, people building businesses and all that. But what
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'm really really interested in is the rise and the
- 16:39Speaker 1: journey to the success. Everybody focuses so much on you know,
- 16:44Speaker 1: success and how much money you're made, la la la.
- 16:47Speaker 1: But I'm fascinated by how my guests and you know
- 16:51Speaker 1: that are on the show. What is their journey? How
- 16:54Speaker 1: did they get there? What do you still practice? How
- 16:57Speaker 1: are you still making you know, how are you making
- 17:01Speaker 1: the world a better place by this new identity that
- 17:05Speaker 1: you're in? You know that that is fascinating. So reframing
- 17:09Speaker 1: is a practice. But you've got to be aware of
- 17:12Speaker 1: what you're thinking in your head.
- 17:15Speaker 5: I think about what you're thinking about?
- 17:17Speaker 1: Ye, about what you're thinking about?
- 17:19Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 17:20Speaker 1: Kind of perfect. Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I love that you explore all that because you know what,
- 17:23Speaker 2: sometimes the journey is the best part of that of
- 17:25Speaker 2: your life experience is getting there necessarily being there. Well,
- 17:30Speaker 2: so for your children, how do you incorporate them into
- 17:34Speaker 2: this shift in thinking and the new mom basically.
- 17:39Speaker 4: And let's let's point out that you have four children,
- 17:42Speaker 4: am I correct?
- 17:43Speaker 1: Or? Yeah? So I have three boys? And a girl
- 17:46Speaker 1: thirty two, thirty twenty eight, and twenty six, So they
- 17:52Speaker 1: were very structured and organized two years apart. And you know,
- 17:57Speaker 1: that's a really good question. And I think that that
- 18:00Speaker 1: is one of, you know, the biggest challenges I think
- 18:04Speaker 1: for me, I don't know about for other moms, that
- 18:07Speaker 1: the identity that they saw me in. You know, I
- 18:10Speaker 1: had a very patriarchal kind of marriage. He you know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: he he. I was a stay at home mom. He
- 18:17Speaker 1: was the bread winner, so he kind of had control
- 18:19Speaker 1: over the finances la la lay, and so they saw
- 18:23Speaker 1: me in this identity of mom and it has been
- 18:29Speaker 1: you know, an evolution of seeing me as you know,
- 18:33Speaker 1: a talk show host. Success. I mean, some of them
- 18:35Speaker 1: don't even know really what I'm doing. I mean they've
- 18:39Speaker 1: never like especially my boys, they don't really they don't
- 18:42Speaker 1: get what I'm doing. But you know, my daughter, I
- 18:46Speaker 1: have a daughter that lives in New York City, and
- 18:48Speaker 1: when I go up, I see her and she's interested.
- 18:50Speaker 1: But I think it is a very very difficult thing
- 18:56Speaker 1: to shift the identity of of how you were as
- 19:01Speaker 1: a mother to then step into you know, having my
- 19:05Speaker 1: own show and running that and writing, you know, reading books.
- 19:08Speaker 1: And all that they don't they don't know. They just
- 19:11Speaker 1: want to know that, you know, they can call me
- 19:13Speaker 1: up and you know, with their whatever emotion they're going through.
- 19:17Speaker 1: So it's a very difficult shift.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I would say, Yeah, Julie and I are experience now,
- 19:24Speaker 2: or we've settled that by just not telling our children
- 19:27Speaker 2: we're doing this, which allows us to talk about them frequently. Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 2: you got show.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yeah, at least it is about to experience saying here
- 19:37Speaker 3: and have a child go to college, So that is
- 19:39Speaker 3: definitely something.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm on the verge of it all.
- 19:43Speaker 5: So I'm listening, listening or.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah, well I think my daughter, my daughter understands this
- 19:50Speaker 1: a little bit more and she and I feel like
- 19:54Speaker 1: I am setting the you know, the example for for
- 19:59Speaker 1: her eventually doesn't know this yet, but you know what's Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 20:06Speaker 3: So you do a lot of things, and I enjoyed
- 20:09Speaker 3: your show. I got to see a few. And so
- 20:12Speaker 3: do you love public speaking, being an author? Do you
- 20:17Speaker 3: like doing this show? I mean, what is your superpower
- 20:22Speaker 3: in the grand scheme of all the things that you do?
- 20:24Speaker 3: And you can probably cook too.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I can, but but now my incredible partner is a chef,
- 20:33Speaker 1: so I don't know. I just can't do it. Yeah,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I just give him the sign of you know, baby
- 20:39Speaker 1: bird is hungry, and he was like, you know, creates something. Anyway,
- 20:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry, what was the question.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So my question was, is like, you've done all that,
- 20:47Speaker 3: You've done all these things like you I mean, let's
- 20:50Speaker 3: just throw in there dating and you did that on
- 20:52Speaker 3: top of everything.
- 20:53Speaker 5: Else, right, And how amazing is that?
- 20:56Speaker 1: Right?
- 20:57Speaker 3: That's a whole different show. You're a you're a public speaker.
- 21:01Speaker 3: I mean you do a show. I mean you are
- 21:04Speaker 3: a mom of four. What's your yeah, what's your superpower
- 21:08Speaker 3: that you feel the best at.
- 21:10Speaker 7: Well?
- 21:10Speaker 1: I feel like I was a very good mother. I
- 21:13Speaker 1: was very creative and I was always trying to create
- 21:17Speaker 1: you know, unique birthday parties and things. So when I
- 21:20Speaker 1: was a mother, I loved being a mother, you know,
- 21:24Speaker 1: but I hadn't but I poured every bit of myself
- 21:27Speaker 1: into raising my children. Now I would have to say, like,
- 21:33Speaker 1: I remember the first day we're going into our second
- 21:36Speaker 1: year now and we're in our second year, going in
- 21:40Speaker 1: wait second or anyway, we I remember sitting down in
- 21:46Speaker 1: that chair. I had never done this before, and I
- 21:50Speaker 1: just you know how you just feel at home like
- 21:53Speaker 1: I didn't. I wasn't nervous. I knew how to somehow,
- 21:58Speaker 1: you know, because there's a lot, you know, there's like
- 22:00Speaker 1: five or six different cameras. You know, you've got you
- 22:02Speaker 1: have to have timing and pace and personality and la
- 22:04Speaker 1: la la and interview you guests. And I felt like
- 22:08Speaker 1: I had been there before, like I had done this,
- 22:12Speaker 1: and I was supposed to do this because I mean,
- 22:16Speaker 1: my my producers are you know, saying that I have
- 22:20Speaker 1: to do certain things and like, okay whatever, Like I
- 22:23Speaker 1: don't feel you know, they always say that when you're
- 22:25Speaker 1: in purpose, you don't feel like you're working. And that's
- 22:29Speaker 1: how I feel. And like I said, I have met
- 22:32Speaker 1: people that, you know, they're big celebrities. I've met incredible
- 22:37Speaker 1: people making differences in the world, and I treat them
- 22:41Speaker 1: exactly the same, Like you know, they don't get I mean,
- 22:44Speaker 1: you are still a human being. But I just feel
- 22:49Speaker 1: so at home. And the more I do it, the
- 22:52Speaker 1: more I keep connecting to myself, and I think that
- 22:56Speaker 1: that kind of comes out in you know, the energy
- 23:00Speaker 1: of the show. I don't care. I don't care if
- 23:02Speaker 1: I look silly. I mean, I've done some pretty interesting things,
- 23:07Speaker 1: and I touched on it a little bit that last
- 23:09Speaker 1: year we did a series called Feel the Fear, and
- 23:15Speaker 1: so I took my camera crew to things that I'm
- 23:19Speaker 1: not I'm not talking about bungee jumping, because I'm not
- 23:21Speaker 1: doing that, but I'm talking about like personal fear. Like
- 23:28Speaker 1: I did a bood War shoot and I had to
- 23:30Speaker 1: show all my so at you know, sixty two. I
- 23:32Speaker 1: had to do a bood War shoot. I then I did.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I went to surf to solet and I was doing
- 23:39Speaker 1: all the hoops and stuff like that. And my the
- 23:42Speaker 1: one where I almost lost my lunch was I had
- 23:47Speaker 1: to do stand up stand up comedy for the first
- 23:50Speaker 1: time in front of two hundred and twenty five people. So,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I mean, I, how did that go?
- 24:00Speaker 7: You know?
- 24:00Speaker 1: It was well, I had I had a coach and
- 24:04Speaker 1: you know, we did that. But I had to stand
- 24:06Speaker 1: up in front of like this whole nightclub place, pretty
- 24:09Speaker 1: rough crowd, and I did pretty well, Yes, you want did,
- 24:19Speaker 1: but it was it was all about you know, and
- 24:21Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't feel like, you know, I was
- 24:24Speaker 1: embarrassed or whatever. I just did it and it just
- 24:27Speaker 1: felt so good to be there. Was there is no
- 24:30Speaker 1: way five years ago, you would have had me do
- 24:33Speaker 1: any of that. So, getting back to your question, I
- 24:36Speaker 1: think that interview and journalism, and because I'm now doing
- 24:41Speaker 1: this new series called The Heart of It, and it's
- 24:45Speaker 1: a very journalistic style where I actually interview people for
- 24:50Speaker 1: half an hour at a time, so I'm really diving
- 24:53Speaker 1: deep into into their soul to get to, you know,
- 24:57Speaker 1: understand who they are and you know, really get into
- 25:00Speaker 1: the story of them. I love that so much because
- 25:04Speaker 1: sometimes the six minute segments that I that I interview people,
- 25:09Speaker 1: you know you're just about to get into their story
- 25:12Speaker 1: and you have to go to the next I mean,
- 25:15Speaker 1: I have I do about fifteen interviews a day, which
- 25:19Speaker 1: is a lot. Yeah.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Is there one of those in the Heart of It?
- 25:22Speaker 2: Is there one of those stories that's really resonated with you,
- 25:25Speaker 2: that's stuck with you, Like, Wow, I really learned something
- 25:28Speaker 2: and it's really meaningful to me.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yeah. So I interviewed perhaps her name isn't known, but
- 25:35Speaker 1: her name is Kaya Sekola, and she was the youngest
- 25:40Speaker 1: sexual survivor of Harvey Weinstein, and her story of survival
- 25:47Speaker 1: and getting her voice back was really amazing. But what
- 25:52Speaker 1: really stuck with me is that it pulled something up
- 25:56Speaker 1: within me because I had similar issues when I was
- 25:59Speaker 1: in my I was in France living when I was
- 26:03Speaker 1: you know, one hundred and fifty years ago, when I
- 26:05Speaker 1: was nineteen, and I had some similar issues which I
- 26:09Speaker 1: thought I had healed. And her interview completely got this.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I'm like, oh no, I could talk to her and
- 26:17Speaker 1: I could feel the emotions coming up and actually, you know,
- 26:22Speaker 1: and I just I was. By the end, I was
- 26:24Speaker 1: really emotional about it. But it really healed another part
- 26:29Speaker 1: of something that I didn't talk about for forty years.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Wow.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Wow, you get some you get to do some very
- 26:35Speaker 2: powerful interviews and I'm really meaningful. That sounds wonderful. Well,
- 26:40Speaker 2: and you know what, ladies, I think we should face
- 26:42Speaker 2: our fears. I think that's a great idea for the
- 26:44Speaker 2: Moment's look. I asked you, well, I'm going to have
- 26:46Speaker 2: to wear the bathing suits that my husband bought me
- 26:48Speaker 2: on my trip to Italy. So that's facing a fear.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Trust me, I agree. He's going to be facing his
- 26:53Speaker 2: fear too when he.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Sees what I look. There you go, where we go? Sarah?
- 26:57Speaker 2: Would you ask some moms? You want to ask you
- 26:59Speaker 2: some questions? And they are our zoomer mom, So welcome
- 27:02Speaker 2: zoomer moms. Welcome to the Mom's Club. Welcome ladies. I'm
- 27:06Speaker 2: going to introduce each one of you and just share
- 27:09Speaker 2: your name, where you're from, a little bit about yourself,
- 27:11Speaker 2: and then you can ask a question of Sarah Christy
- 27:14Speaker 2: Welcome to the Mom's Club.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Hello everyone, glad to be here.
- 27:18Speaker 8: I am Christy McAllister from Edmund, Oklahoma, and I am
- 27:21Speaker 8: an independent sales director with Mary Kay Cosmetics. My mother
- 27:27Speaker 8: has actually been building a Mary Kay business for over
- 27:29Speaker 8: fifty years.
- 27:31Speaker 1: So I literally grew up.
- 27:33Speaker 8: In a pink Cadillac. I said, I want my own
- 27:35Speaker 8: pink Cadillac. So I just followed mom in the family business.
- 27:41Speaker 1: But my job is not just to make.
- 27:44Speaker 8: Sure your face doesn't fall off, okay, and we're here
- 27:46Speaker 8: to make sure we keep it up and where it's
- 27:48Speaker 8: supposed to be. But I also help women build confidence
- 27:53Speaker 8: and create additional income through Mary Kay. And so I
- 27:56Speaker 8: spend so much time coaching women to dream bigger than
- 27:59Speaker 8: they think is possible and to really empower themselves and
- 28:03Speaker 8: to know that they can do.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Anything they achieve. I mean it was ingrained in me.
- 28:08Speaker 8: All the Mary chayisms from childhood. You know what you
- 28:10Speaker 8: think about, you bring about what you believe you can't achieve,
- 28:13Speaker 8: you can do it. And my favorite is if you
- 28:15Speaker 8: think you can, you can. If you think you can't,
- 28:18Speaker 8: you're right. So I have, I think an edge because,
- 28:22Speaker 8: like you said, Sarah, that you are the example that
- 28:25Speaker 8: your daughter is gonna follow. And so I feel like
- 28:28Speaker 8: my mom in the Mary Kay business, it has just
- 28:30Speaker 8: been ingrained in me. So as I work with all
- 28:32Speaker 8: these women who weren't ingrained with that, that's always a
- 28:36Speaker 8: fun bridge to gap. So I guess my question for
- 28:39Speaker 8: you is this, when someone has a big vision but
- 28:42Speaker 8: they keep getting stuck between believing it's possible and actually
- 28:46Speaker 8: taking consistent action, what do you think is like one
- 28:50Speaker 8: mindset shift that creates a breakthrough?
- 28:53Speaker 2: Great question?
- 28:54Speaker 4: Good, oh god, let's see.
- 28:59Speaker 1: So say that. Say that question again. So going from
- 29:02Speaker 1: vision to taking action? Right?
- 29:06Speaker 7: Yes?
- 29:06Speaker 8: Yeah, So I feel like a lot of times people
- 29:08Speaker 8: they have a dream but then they get stuck.
- 29:10Speaker 1: So like, what is the breakthrough? You know what I'm
- 29:13Speaker 1: gonna I'm going to get. I'm going to get a
- 29:15Speaker 1: bit woo wooie with you because it definitely shifted me.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Is I have such a connection to a higher power,
- 29:23Speaker 1: to an energy that whenever I am stuck, I do
- 29:28Speaker 1: I do show me, like I do this ritual in
- 29:31Speaker 1: my journal of show me how show me the evidence
- 29:36Speaker 1: that I will understand that will get me to where
- 29:39Speaker 1: I want to be. I mean it sounds weird, but
- 29:43Speaker 1: what it does. It just kind of releases the responsibility
- 29:47Speaker 1: that we have to figure it out, because when we're
- 29:50Speaker 1: trying to figure it out, we are trying to control
- 29:55Speaker 1: the situation. I'm very spiritual and I really believe this,
- 30:02Speaker 1: you know, this whole mindset because we're like, Okay, well
- 30:04Speaker 1: how am I going to do this? And and and again.
- 30:07Speaker 1: When you know, when I've felt stuck and I still
- 30:11Speaker 1: do I just I just send it. I just send
- 30:15Speaker 1: it into my journal, into the universe, and I just say,
- 30:19Speaker 1: show me how to do this. And I am not
- 30:21Speaker 1: kidding you. I mean the ego wants to say, well,
- 30:24Speaker 1: where where's the evidence? I don't see it, but you
- 30:27Speaker 1: just I have learned through my practices to be really
- 30:32Speaker 1: patient that it's going to show up. And I think
- 30:36Speaker 1: that that is you know, my best motto. You know,
- 30:40Speaker 1: maybe others, maybe somebody wants it a little bit more
- 30:43Speaker 1: black and white answer but you know there there really
- 30:47Speaker 1: isn't like a magic pill that you can take to
- 30:50Speaker 1: believe in yourself. I mean it's going to take time
- 30:54Speaker 1: and patience, which is not something that I've learned. I
- 30:57Speaker 1: have learned how to be more patient. But it will
- 31:00Speaker 1: happen when it's supposed to. And I live by that
- 31:03Speaker 1: now like I live. It's going to happen when it's
- 31:06Speaker 1: supposed to. But I'm allowed to ask, show me what
- 31:11Speaker 1: or even even show me the actions that I can
- 31:13Speaker 1: actually take today that will get me to where I'm
- 31:17Speaker 1: trying to go? Does that do that? Does that answer
- 31:19Speaker 1: it a little bit? Yes?
- 31:21Speaker 6: I love right.
- 31:22Speaker 8: So I'm gonna show me the money, O kidding, but
- 31:26Speaker 8: show me, show me the strength, show me the action.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Like and you know we all want to say show
- 31:31Speaker 1: me the money, but show me the energy. I always say,
- 31:34Speaker 1: show me the energy, or show me what I need
- 31:37Speaker 1: to release so that I can be open to financial abundance.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Show me what, Yeah, show me what I need to release,
- 31:46Speaker 1: because when you know, because what we are holding onto
- 31:50Speaker 1: is what is blocking, what is trying to come in,
- 31:54Speaker 1: and when we're constantly God, why is it so hard?
- 31:57Speaker 1: Why why don't I have any money? That is it,
- 32:00Speaker 1: and someone's listening. So I just say, you know, I
- 32:05Speaker 1: don't say show me the money, because that's ego. I
- 32:08Speaker 1: say show me what I need to let go of
- 32:11Speaker 1: in order for the money to come. And I'm not
- 32:13Speaker 1: kidding you. You can ask. I've had the same mentor
- 32:16Speaker 1: for the past ten years. She has seen me going
- 32:20Speaker 1: from that mindset of like, show me the money. I'm
- 32:23Speaker 1: so annoying. I can't make any money too where I am.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Now, that's grow good, that's good.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I love it.
- 32:31Speaker 2: If that's so good, Well, we have a zoomer today
- 32:34Speaker 2: with a beautiful name, Monica.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Welcome to the club.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Tell us a little bit about yourself, and you have
- 32:40Speaker 2: a question for Sarah.
- 32:42Speaker 6: Yes, thank you so much for having me. Hi everyone,
- 32:46Speaker 6: I've been a life science attorney for over twenty years
- 32:50Speaker 6: and i run my own practice, Legal Alchemy, off the clock.
- 32:55Speaker 6: I'm a mom to true grown sons and Sarah so
- 32:58Speaker 6: glad to meet you, and I'm so glad you're here.
- 33:02Speaker 6: My question is if you could hand your younger self
- 33:06Speaker 6: one abundance habit you use every day, now, what would
- 33:10Speaker 6: it be.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I'm going to go back. I'm sorry if it's repetitive,
- 33:15Speaker 1: but it is journaling. Well, well, actually first was meditation
- 33:21Speaker 1: like I and you know, this wasn't about going on
- 33:25Speaker 1: a mountain sitting for hours with you know, monks chanting.
- 33:29Speaker 1: This was just about learning how to quiet the thoughts.
- 33:34Speaker 1: So I would tell her just you know, sit and quiet,
- 33:37Speaker 1: learn how to how to listen to your thoughts. And
- 33:40Speaker 1: then I'm I have I have stacks and stacks of
- 33:43Speaker 1: journal journals that every single day I do morning pages,
- 33:48Speaker 1: which is you know morning pages that I just write anything.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I don't have to. It doesn't have to be a subject.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I you know, sometimes just write gratitudes. Sometimes I write,
- 33:57Speaker 1: you know, fifty ways to bring more joy in my life.
- 34:02Speaker 1: But I would I would definitely just you know, just
- 34:05Speaker 1: lovingly tell her that, you know, just quiet your mind
- 34:10Speaker 1: because you are not those thoughts. And I would give
- 34:14Speaker 1: her one piece of advice. If the thought is limited,
- 34:18Speaker 1: you know, like a limited or scarce, it's a lie
- 34:21Speaker 1: that you're telling yourself. And I have every time, like
- 34:25Speaker 1: sometimes those little gremlins come in and you start listening
- 34:29Speaker 1: to like you know, it's not like I just say
- 34:34Speaker 1: to myself, if it's limited, it's a lie, right, So
- 34:39Speaker 1: I would I would definitely just give her that advice.
- 34:42Speaker 1: But meditation and journaling have literally not just changed my life,
- 34:47Speaker 1: but saved my life.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yes, I would agree. Would you also advise her to
- 34:52Speaker 2: save every journal because my husband complains that I'm save
- 34:56Speaker 2: too many things. They're like, do you save them and
- 34:58Speaker 2: do you go back and read them later and say,
- 34:59Speaker 2: you know what I really grown in these years?
- 35:01Speaker 1: Or do I? I mean sometimes sometimes I mean I do.
- 35:06Speaker 1: I have beautiful journals. I mean I collect journals. Whenever
- 35:10Speaker 1: I'm traveling, I'll find a beautiful journal. So I don't
- 35:13Speaker 1: like to let go of I don't go back and look,
- 35:17Speaker 1: you know, if I'm trying to find something or find
- 35:20Speaker 1: like a meditation, I did, or I might go back.
- 35:23Speaker 1: But I have a real connection to my job. A
- 35:27Speaker 1: lot of people do like burn them or you know,
- 35:29Speaker 1: get rid of them, but I kind of, I kind
- 35:32Speaker 1: of like them.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm kind of with you. I love journals, beautiful Yeah, journals. Loren,
- 35:39Speaker 2: Welcome to the Mom's Club. Do you have a question
- 35:42Speaker 2: for Sarah, and also just tell us a little bit
- 35:43Speaker 2: about yourself.
- 35:44Speaker 7: Hi, guys, I'm Lareen Seawan Holtz. I grew up in
- 35:48Speaker 7: Los Angeles and I currently live in Miami. My background
- 35:51Speaker 7: is in production, television, film, and anything entertainment. Entertainment wise,
- 36:00Speaker 7: I am the mother of two, but I feel like
- 36:03Speaker 7: it's five with my animals and my husband.
- 36:05Speaker 1: And everyone out of the time.
- 36:09Speaker 7: So but I love your show and I wanted to
- 36:12Speaker 7: ask you. My question goes back to the show today.
- 36:15Speaker 7: You've had an opportunity to interview so many successful people
- 36:19Speaker 7: in the world. If you can go back to one
- 36:21Speaker 7: piece of advice that someone gave you, what with the best.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Piece of good question?
- 36:27Speaker 1: When when I can't even like remember my you know,
- 36:31Speaker 1: my children's name, sometimes like finding you know, I think,
- 36:35Speaker 1: I think, what kind of pops into my mind? Is?
- 36:39Speaker 6: You know?
- 36:40Speaker 1: Is this whole notion? I don't. I don't have one
- 36:42Speaker 1: specific quote. I mean, you've put me on the spot here,
- 36:47Speaker 1: but it is about this whole idea of you know,
- 36:51Speaker 1: your your mindset is what sets us up for either
- 36:55Speaker 1: success or fit. You know. And there is a quote,
- 36:58Speaker 1: you know, something to do with with failure, because there
- 37:02Speaker 1: really is no such thing unless you quit. Maybe that
- 37:05Speaker 1: one is it? There is no such thing as fail
- 37:08Speaker 1: It was it was I believe it was some author.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Don't remember the name, of course, but you know, if
- 37:13Speaker 1: there is no such thing as failure unless you quit.
- 37:17Speaker 1: And I had such a terrible relationship with the word
- 37:23Speaker 1: failure because failure meant that I was, you know, failing
- 37:26Speaker 1: at something. But really it is just you know, it's
- 37:31Speaker 1: just what do you call it? You know, it's just
- 37:36Speaker 1: something that we we all need to experience. But it's
- 37:39Speaker 1: how we look at it. It's you know, is when
- 37:43Speaker 1: it will stop us or when it won't stop us.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So I think it I think it really has to
- 37:48Speaker 1: do with with the failure thing because so many, so
- 37:52Speaker 1: many of my guests have faced so much failure, but
- 37:57Speaker 1: they still kept going and still were you know, resilient
- 38:02Speaker 1: and determined, even though I mean, I've redefined what failed.
- 38:07Speaker 1: There is no failure in my in my life anymore.
- 38:11Speaker 1: So yeah, I.
- 38:12Speaker 7: Also think that failure teaches us different things as well,
- 38:15Speaker 7: you know, so.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Right, yes, yes, And failure is the biggest teacher where
- 38:21Speaker 1: I ran from it like so and and and I
- 38:24Speaker 1: think that, you know, I think that resonated with me
- 38:27Speaker 1: so much is because in in my you know, younger
- 38:31Speaker 1: much much younger years, failure it's called a complex equivalence.
- 38:38Speaker 1: So failure meant not being loved. I was a horse rider,
- 38:43Speaker 1: and you know, I didn't want to ride, but I
- 38:45Speaker 1: did it because my mother wanted me, and La la la.
- 38:47Speaker 1: It's in my second book. And and every time I
- 38:51Speaker 1: didn't want to do it, but she kept saying, you know,
- 38:54Speaker 1: you've got to do this, and I failed in her mind.
- 38:57Speaker 1: And what she would do, which she would not speak
- 39:00Speaker 1: to me for three days. She would just be silent.
- 39:03Speaker 1: So that was so one meant the other. So I
- 39:07Speaker 1: never took any chances or any risks because I was
- 39:11Speaker 1: so afraid to fail because if I failed, then that
- 39:16Speaker 1: little self felt like she wasn't going to be loved.
- 39:21Speaker 1: So it's fascinating, but I've re you know this, The
- 39:24Speaker 1: whole energy of failure, you know, just doesn't exist anymore,
- 39:29Speaker 1: it is.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It is interesting because whenever I hear the word failure now,
- 39:33Speaker 2: I think of my son when he was younger, played
- 39:35Speaker 2: baseball all the way up to college, and he had
- 39:38Speaker 2: one coach who had been a pretty successful baseball player.
- 39:40Speaker 2: I won a national championship and he told these little boys,
- 39:44Speaker 2: he said, I want you to memorize this number. And
- 39:46Speaker 2: he was three thousand something. It was the number of
- 39:49Speaker 2: times Babe Ruth struck out Wow. So basically he was
- 39:52Speaker 2: telling them, I want every time you go up to
- 39:53Speaker 2: the plate, I want you to say that number in
- 39:55Speaker 2: your head because just if you miss this time, it
- 39:57Speaker 2: doesn't matter. Just keep trying because look, success you can have,
- 40:01Speaker 2: right if you keep trying. So I thought that was
- 40:03Speaker 2: such a good lesson for the little kids. And yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 2: we just haig kids the relationship with failure, right and
- 40:10Speaker 2: right and.
- 40:11Speaker 4: At least, how did you reframe failure?
- 40:15Speaker 3: You're a big corporate yeah, you know, larger than life person.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Oh wow, and I've gotten to know so wow. You know,
- 40:22Speaker 3: I know you have thoughts on this.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I do, I do? You know?
- 40:26Speaker 5: For me, I just think of every experience as a
- 40:28Speaker 5: blessing or a lesson. There is no failure. I'm with
- 40:31Speaker 5: Sarah right, there is no failure. I either just enjoyed
- 40:35Speaker 5: it and it was wonderful and it felt so good,
- 40:37Speaker 5: or I learned from it.
- 40:39Speaker 8: It's a or B.
- 40:40Speaker 5: It's one of the other.
- 40:41Speaker 1: There.
- 40:42Speaker 5: It isn't that I made a mistake. It's that I
- 40:44Speaker 5: learned something new. Yeah, it's that I learned something new.
- 40:47Speaker 5: It's that I had a new experience. And I think
- 40:49Speaker 5: when you approach it that way, then some of that
- 40:52Speaker 5: shame some of that fear. Sarah, I really love what
- 40:56Speaker 5: you had to say about your experience with your mom
- 40:59Speaker 5: because I think so many times we bring all of
- 41:02Speaker 5: that in with us into adulthood in your DNA. Yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 5: it's in our DNA, that's right, all the good, all
- 41:10Speaker 5: the bad, all of it. But for me, if I
- 41:12Speaker 5: think about it as being a blessing or a lesson,
- 41:15Speaker 5: it helps me reframe it.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I just want to touch on that
- 41:19Speaker 1: a little bit. And my second in research for my
- 41:22Speaker 1: second book is that we hold on to three generation
- 41:27Speaker 1: generations of trauma in our DNA, like one if if
- 41:31Speaker 1: it's if the if the trauma is not healed, you
- 41:35Speaker 1: will pass that along to three generations. So it's you know,
- 41:40Speaker 1: it's it's really fascinating and I'm like I was, I was,
- 41:44Speaker 1: you know, the guinea pig because I all my my
- 41:48Speaker 1: three generations in my my mom's family was exactly what
- 41:53Speaker 1: I was holding onto and holding as what I thought
- 41:57Speaker 1: was my identity. But it wasn't. That wasn't who I was, right,
- 42:02Speaker 1: So it really is interesting.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that absolutely is well. Zoomer Moms. As always, you
