- 0:00Wow. Yes, So this is Bobby. I'm the drummer of the band
- 0:03Persephone Band from Andorra, a super small country in Europe with I don't know,
- 0:10seventy five thousand inhabitants. So yeah, it's a pretty unusual place to
- 0:18start a metal band. Vete it is by thanks for joining us the same
- 0:22name, Yes, no problem, Well, thank you. I hope I
- 0:25get the pronunciation of this right. But first off, I release your new
- 0:29EP, linguin Ignota Part one on February the second, So how do you
- 0:34feel about it? Yes, man, I just want to release the new
- 0:39music, you know, because we've been working so much into this new release
- 0:45lately that I just want to release it and people to start listening to it,
- 0:50you know, because we finished their recording in August, so it's been
- 0:55a while now, and since we are about to go on tour in ten
- 0:59days, I really want the people to listen to the new songs before that.
- 1:03So because we are playing the Holy pe Life and I want them to
- 1:08at least know the songs a little bit, you know, more about APay
- 1:15from a beastical point of view and what you're dying for with that. Yeah,
- 1:19So dizzy be is something really special for us because it's the first one
- 1:25with our new singer, Danny, So we had a mark previous singer like
- 1:30for almost twenty years in the band, so it's like really really big difference,
- 1:37you know for us. And also it's the first release in almost like
- 1:42twenty years when we have recorded everything in a proper studio, you know,
- 1:49like we went to Sweden with an awesome producer called David Castillo to record everything.
- 1:57So for us, it's like a game changer, or at least we
- 2:00want to think that it's a game changer in the Persephone history, you know,
- 2:06because the sound is amazing. Danny, the new singer, has done
- 2:08a great, great job, so it's like all the elements are aligned,
- 2:13you know right now. Yeah, so you eventually a new batalist, Daniel
- 2:16Rodriguez s Fly, so tell us a bit more about him by then what
- 2:20he brings to the band sound. Yeah. So when we had to look
- 2:25for a new singer, we have this friend in common also from Madrid,
- 2:30So Danny is from Madrid, which is like seven hours drive from Andorra,
- 2:35which is not easy, you know, Andora is so so small. There's
- 2:39no metal seen here, and we didn't we needed someone professional, you know,
- 2:45for the band, because we've been around for quite a long time right
- 2:47now, and this friend of us, he just told us about Danny,
- 2:53you know, and that we should give him a try, and it was
- 2:58so easy to work with him, such a professional guy. He plays guitar
- 3:01also in another band, and he sings, so he's like really skilled and
- 3:08and we've been touring with him for the last year and a half, so
- 3:13he's done like almost I don't know, eighty shows together. So we already
- 3:17already know each other really really well. So when we when we wanted to
- 3:22record something new already with him, we already knew that he was the guy,
- 3:27you know, to join the band. And he's the youngest, so
- 3:30it's it's really it's really different to have him on the band right now.
- 3:35The press release describes you sound as extreme problem makes the ritual beauty of melodic
- 3:40death metal. That yes, why not? Yes? I mean yes,
- 3:47I mean it's complicated to tag music, you know, it's not easy,
- 3:52you know, to put all the time, like labels and stuff like this.
- 3:55I would say that band, it's obviously we have this metal root,
- 4:03you know, and we are a metal band. But I think we are
- 4:05way more than that, not because we sing with clean vocals or something like
- 4:11this, but persephone fans they know that there's way more than just metal notes.
- 4:18So yes, I even forgot already all the hashtags. You know,
- 4:24you said all the labels A brutal, beauty, melodic metal Mountain. Yes,
- 4:30yes, Now Ligo Part one is only a five track APTE, so
- 4:39I want to run through each song individually and you can tell us a bit
- 4:42more about it and how it fits into the ap So it ipens with Sands
- 4:46and Vessels, Yeah, like you want sung by songs, And it's the
- 4:50intro of of the B and the one that starts like with these search of
- 5:01this unknown word linquig nota means means unknown language, and Sons and Vessels starts
- 5:09screaming with this disparate looking for this sound and and word that is unknown.
- 5:16You know, it has to be learned. So it's I think it's a
- 5:20perfect intro to introduce Danny as a singer because the first part he sings is
- 5:27already a really strong sentence, you know, and with a really powerful scream.
- 5:33So yes, So since we will play the the B live completely,
- 5:39we wanted to have a really strong intro, you know. Yeah, and
- 5:45the second track is one Word, which was also the single tell Us about
- 5:48that. Yeah, that was the first single. One Word, Okay.
- 5:55One Word has like all the Persephone classic elements, you know, like it's
- 6:00fast, and it has like complicated patterns and rhythm, but big chorus.
- 6:05So it's a song that I think it will work really good life. It
- 6:09has like this crazy part in the middle with the poly rhythms and and I
- 6:15don't know the word in English for that, but sound massive sound production,
- 6:20you know, yes, in what word is this this keeping you know,
- 6:29finding this this unknown word? But yes, then you've got the equable equable.
- 6:38It's the single that is going to be released today in four or five
- 6:44hours, and it's like the probably easiest song we've ever written in the Persephone
- 6:55history. It's like big chorus, easy verse, no complicated stuff, guitar
- 7:03solo. Like I think this one will work really really good life, you
- 7:08know, because it has like powerful chorus and also like new vocal registers from
- 7:16our clean vocalists from Mo that we've never tried before, and so I think
- 7:21this one will be like I hope people will sing this one, you know,
- 7:27because it's like really easy. It's not like it's like complicated. What
- 7:31did he said, like to the laundry now or something? Now? This
- 7:34is like easy one, you know, and I hope it will it will
- 7:39work. Then you've got the title track. Yeah, Linn is a classic
- 7:45perceptionist song, you know, seven minutes long, fast, complicated to play.
- 7:49I hate it, you know, I don't want to play that.
- 7:53I don't want to Yeah, this is lingug not that for me. It's
- 7:57an amazing song with great solo part you know, atmospheric parts with clean vocal
- 8:03like really really nice and frenzy, you know, but complicated, so skip
- 8:11for me. Yeah, I'm joking, but you get the point. I
- 8:15guess like this the people will love this song because it's it's really really really
- 8:20nice and it's super well written. Carlos has put a lot into this one,
- 8:26you know, and he's just he just recorded a guitar playthrough of this
- 8:30one because it's a crazy song to play. But yeah, oh and apes
- 8:35with a viscal communication. Yes, this continues with the with the kept of
- 8:43this unknown language, you know, this communication with the with the unknown and
- 8:48the abyss and everything, and it's a super different track. It's the most
- 8:54different track of Persephone, so Equable for me is the easiest one and more
- 9:00accessible you know to people. And this is like the different one for sure.
- 9:05It has Doney the new singer clean singing clean vocals for the first time
- 9:11with us, you know, like a whole song, and there's no drums,
- 9:16there's no there's just a little bit of guitars. There's a lot of
- 9:20electronic music going on and sound design and everything, and this one will be
- 9:28so much fun to play live because we we've added so much stuff to play
- 9:33it live. And I think this will be like a really nice experience,
- 9:37you know, to to watch, not only to listen, because I think
- 9:41the song is super well produced, but to watch. We've prepared like different
- 9:45lights, different scenes, you know. I think this one will be really
- 9:48nice. And they say it follows on from your twenty twenty two album match
- 9:54Noias. How does it different music from that rease? Yeah? Nothing,
- 9:58it's so so friends. So last year we've been touring so much, you
- 10:03know that we've learned so much for being you know, like touring and learning
- 10:09from on stage and learning from other bands and everything, and so Metanoia is
- 10:13a completely different album. We wanted to have a massive production, you know,
- 10:18with other persephonic classics, and there's like these cinematic landscapes all the time,
- 10:24there's one of sound, you know. It's like we try to do
- 10:30something way different and linguide not that. For me, it's like we have
- 10:37removed all of those elements and keep only the essentials, you know, like
- 10:43easy structures, big chorus and melodies, you know, like memorable melodies and
- 10:50not layers and layers. Meta is layer over layer over layer constantly, and
- 10:56this one is like two guitars bassed. You know, it's completely different.
- 11:01Yeah, so the part one in the Child suggests that there's more coming.
- 11:05So what's on there? Gotrace for us? Yeah, this is a magic
- 11:11trick that we've done. We don't know. I mean, we don't know.
- 11:16We don't know. It has to answer these question I really don't know.
- 11:20I mean, since it wasn't it we have more music, you know
- 11:24regarding we can write more about link not and the concept and the ideas behind
- 11:28this, But we don't have a music plan right now because this album has
- 11:35to be released yet. So maybe it will be like a single, I
- 11:39don't know, like a part to just one song. Like a long song,
- 11:43maybe a second EP, maybe an album or video, you know,
- 11:46something different. I don't know. I don't know if two parts or three
- 11:50or four as you said, but yeah, we'll get older, you know.
- 11:54It's like linkuig not a part seventeen, okaying, like not that.
- 12:01We'll find the word, you know, yeah, and if it comes out
- 12:07on favorite the second so what's the next four post? And after that?
- 12:11Yeah, So we are about to go on tour. In ten days,
- 12:13we go on tour. So from February the tenth to March tenth, we'll
- 12:18be touring Europe as headliners, so it will be like our seventh or eighth
- 12:26European tour. And then after that we have a super special show in Andorra
- 12:30with an orchestra and we will record everything with the DVD and live and everything.
- 12:35It's already sold out, so it will be like super special for us.
- 12:39And then we go to Japan with car Symmetry, and then we have
- 12:45another tour that it's not announced, so it's super busy, busy year.
- 12:50I don't know how we will manage, you know, with the families and
- 12:52stuff, but so far they don't know everything, so you can't tell me
- 13:01that you come to Japan and you're not going to visit australiaway on this sort
- 13:03of the world. Man, this sucks. But since we do not leave
- 13:07out of the band, you know, it's so complicated to to to find
- 13:11balance. You know. We we had this opportunity also to go to China
- 13:15and do five six shows there in the Japan run, and we did.
- 13:18We had to decline, you know, and same for Australia. I mean,
- 13:22I'd love to do that. It's on our bucket least to go to
- 13:26Australia because we have friends there and we really want to go. But it's
- 13:30not easy. You know, just the travel there is so expensive that we
- 13:35cannot go and lose I don't know, k or it's it's complicated. Yeah,
- 13:39I understand, all right, Bright, Well, thanks very much for
- 13:41trying to Bobby. You going rest up by it and I've had a long
- 13:43time but it so yeah one day, yeah, yeah, no problem.
- 13:48Nice to media. Christ's brother. Cheers man, Bye bye bye
