Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Because fuck you, that's why is a founding member of
- 0:04Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to Window Cleaners, where we peer in,
- 0:44Speaker 2: where we peer in on one particular fandom and make
- 0:47Speaker 2: sure you can see it clearly. Uh no, I'm joking,
- 0:51Speaker 2: of course, this is bfy tw as per normal. But
- 0:54Speaker 2: we've got with us special guests, the gately Berds.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Hello, already with such a tree Aaron.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Well, hopefully there's more coming. As a huge fan of
- 1:06Speaker 2: Gateleabers to the point where I'm actually giving them my
- 1:09Speaker 2: money now, I wanted to take this opportunity now that
- 1:14Speaker 2: we have them on the show, to showcase what an
- 1:16Speaker 2: episode of gate Leapers is like for our listeners, for
- 1:19Speaker 2: those who haven't already taken the leap to find out
- 1:21Speaker 2: for themselves. So we are actually doing a Gateleaber's Oma show.
- 1:27Speaker 2: We are going to play three very similar games to
- 1:30Speaker 2: common Gateleabers games, because what's more American than taking British
- 1:35Speaker 2: ideas and making them worse. I hope the end result
- 1:40Speaker 2: is much like a shorter, quicker episode of gate Leapers,
- 1:42Speaker 2: with the added benefit of giving Matt his own medicine.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Speaking of, let's meet our special guests, Hi, Matt, how
- 1:51Speaker 2: are you doing?
- 1:53Speaker 4: Hello Aaron? Hi, I'm ready to you know, have my
- 1:56Speaker 4: own medicine. I'm cool about it.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I'm chilling. I'm ready, all.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Right, cool, cool, I am. This is intended to be
- 2:03Speaker 2: an homage, not parody. I'm genuinely trying to shine a
- 2:08Speaker 2: positive light on the great shows that you guys do
- 2:10Speaker 2: over there, and not just because you've frequently been inviting
- 2:14Speaker 2: me on them. But that helps a lot. Yes, it
- 2:18Speaker 2: really does.
- 2:19Speaker 5: As someone does the schedule, he was like, okay, you
- 2:21Speaker 5: can get them back on now, it's like, okay.
- 2:23Speaker 2: So this whole this whole episode is themed around the fandom,
- 2:26Speaker 2: as it were, of game shows. There's a lot of
- 2:28Speaker 2: game show fans out there, and I know, or at
- 2:31Speaker 2: least I believe that you're among them. Is that correct?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Yes? Yes, I'm a big game show fan.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Have been my entire life, ever since I realized I
- 2:39Speaker 4: had eyes that could watch a TV screen.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Brilliant, brilliant. Any particular favorites like that got you started
- 2:45Speaker 2: into game shows as a big as a youngster, maybe growing.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Up honestly, Like the first thing is being like at
- 2:52Speaker 4: my grandparents' house and watching things like fifteen to one
- 2:55Speaker 4: the original and Countdown as well, Big Countdown kid.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, definitely.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Write that down. We're gonna have to do Countdown at
- 3:04Speaker 2: some point.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 3:07Speaker 2: It's something we've been meaning to do our own. Eight
- 3:09Speaker 2: out of ten cats does count down for a long time.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You know, that'll be a dream country.
- 3:13Speaker 2: We're going to do that at some point. But anyway,
- 3:18Speaker 2: the reason I bring it up and the reason I
- 3:19Speaker 2: wanted to do game shows on an episode of The
- 3:23Speaker 2: gate Leapers is because I had two dreams as a
- 3:27Speaker 2: kid growing up, and one of them was to host
- 3:30Speaker 2: game shows, which b f y tw lets me do, ye,
- 3:34Speaker 2: But the other was to actually be a contestant on
- 3:36Speaker 2: a game show, which is what gate Leapers lets me do.
- 3:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 2: So I just wanted to show my love with all this.
- 3:43Speaker 2: So I am doing my best to make that so.
- 3:47Speaker 2: And I hope we have a lot of fun. I'm
- 3:49Speaker 2: sure we will. But enough of me kissing up. Let
- 3:53Speaker 2: me kiss up some more. It's it's it's Matt's much
- 3:58Speaker 2: much better half. It's O dra.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Hello.
- 4:03Speaker 7: Hello. I agree now.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I hope so. In my in my head canon, Audre
- 4:11Speaker 2: and I have developed something of a rivalry because she
- 4:17Speaker 2: won the Taskmaster episode which I wanted, and I won
- 4:22Speaker 2: the Greek mythology episode that aud wanted.
- 4:25Speaker 1: The right team did win the test.
- 4:27Speaker 2: So it's as far as I'm concerned, it is a
- 4:30Speaker 2: completely friendly rivalry. I have nothing but respect as.
- 4:33Speaker 7: Far as you're concerned.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, all right, fair enough, fair enough. I accept
- 4:38Speaker 2: my accept my medicine, mommy dearest.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Okay, Uh, we're all taking our medicine today.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, listen, I understand and accept to take
- 4:50Speaker 2: another dose. And uh, their opponents, it's my usual cohorts
- 4:57Speaker 2: and crime. It is Stevie and Ougi Hi.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Stevien brothers are here with like a returning, amazing show
- 5:05Speaker 5: like one.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It's like a step above ours in production value.
- 5:09Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, you've got two cameras going on. We
- 5:10Speaker 4: don't have two cameras.
- 5:14Speaker 8: You guys, Do you have two cameras?
- 5:18Speaker 2: For God's sake. I have to backtrack just a little
- 5:21Speaker 2: bit because I'm a bad host already. I got shamed
- 5:23Speaker 2: off of asking my question. Do you love game shows?
- 5:29Speaker 2: And is there one particular one that you saw growing
- 5:32Speaker 2: up maybe that got you into them?
- 5:36Speaker 7: I do love game shows because I do love watching TV,
- 5:39Speaker 7: and I do love knowing things that I think I
- 5:44Speaker 7: pretend other people may not have known very good, and
- 5:48Speaker 7: so I grew up watching just like Jeopardy, pretty pretty
- 5:57Speaker 7: standard ones. Once upon a time I was good at
- 6:00Speaker 7: or answering them in the proper format. If you have
- 6:03Speaker 7: watched Gate Leapers, our last round always has some type
- 6:07Speaker 7: of format in which you must answer the questions. I
- 6:11Speaker 7: always forget, so somewhere along the way, I forgot that.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Gill jeopardized your Jeopardy skills.
- 6:18Speaker 7: You jeopardize my Jeopardy skills? How to hear you?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yiks? Shame anyway, Okay, cool, now that I've properly done.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Now I'll move on to Stevie and Aggie. We'll start
- 6:31Speaker 2: with Stevie. Stevie, is there a particular game show, perhaps
- 6:35Speaker 2: that you enjoyed as a kid, or even as an adult,
- 6:37Speaker 2: something that you really liked?
- 6:39Speaker 5: Yeah, starting, I have loved game show, especially when I
- 6:43Speaker 5: got sick from school and got to stay home.
- 6:45Speaker 1: And watch him.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 8: Yeah, And when I did.
- 6:48Speaker 1: It was always Price is Right. I loved the Price
- 6:51Speaker 1: is Right.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Probably one of the reasons I love the version that
- 6:54Speaker 5: Aaron came up with so much is because it brings
- 6:56Speaker 5: me back to my childhood. And the Price is Right
- 6:58Speaker 5: was a game show to head multiple game shows in it,
- 7:01Speaker 5: so it's like a bonus show, you know. You get
- 7:03Speaker 5: a bunch of different little games to do.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It and you never know what you're going to see
- 7:06Speaker 2: every single on.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Every time, like every time. So that's mine.
- 7:09Speaker 5: And then of course coming up like like being your
- 7:12Speaker 5: friend getting all the British game shows, cats, count out
- 7:16Speaker 5: all that stuff, like, yeah, I loved.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It, Like I'm a good influence.
- 7:21Speaker 1: At least the game show side.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yeah, fair enough, okay, And finally, Augie, my coughing friend.
- 7:30Speaker 8: Ever dying friend, sir, what about what.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Have game shows meant to you in particular? And any
- 7:38Speaker 2: of them impacted you?
- 7:40Speaker 7: So?
- 7:40Speaker 9: Like, growing up, I've seen quite a bit of like
- 7:42Speaker 9: Jeopardy and Prices right and all that, but really what
- 7:47Speaker 9: was the I would say the gateway drug into game
- 7:52Speaker 9: shows and whatnot and comedy game shows was Who's line?
- 7:56Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it's technically a game show, there's prices,
- 8:01Speaker 2: but yeah, no, I get it.
- 8:03Speaker 1: It's a cool point to make up a game show. Yeah,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I agree.
- 8:05Speaker 8: It's like how our show is a game show? Quick points?
- 8:09Speaker 9: Yeah, anyways, but yeah, it and introduced to you know,
- 8:14Speaker 9: nine out of ten cats does count down?
- 8:16Speaker 8: Oh my god, it I it's awesome.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I wish I got into it sooner.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a lot of fun to be had, all right.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I said this was going to be like a gate
- 8:25Speaker 2: Leaper's episode, and I meant it. So we're going to
- 8:27Speaker 2: do it right, which means our teams need team names.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Matt and Oudra, do you happen to have a game
- 8:32Speaker 2: show themed team name for us?
- 8:35Speaker 4: Yeah, we've been thinking about this. Probably our favorite game
- 8:39Speaker 4: show to watch together as a couple where we just
- 8:41Speaker 4: don't miss a single episode is Only Connect Nice, hosted
- 8:46Speaker 4: by Victoria Carr and Mitchell, and their team names tend
- 8:50Speaker 4: to be in.
- 8:50Speaker 3: A sort of.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Like what they do, like the Hobbies, drst trust, and
- 8:57Speaker 4: then sort of turn that into some kind of vibe
- 9:00Speaker 4: awesome thing. So we were thinking of things like the
- 9:03Speaker 4: role Players. We play a lot of Dungeons and dragons'll
- 9:06Speaker 4: be games we.
- 9:07Speaker 7: Hike a lot, so the Ramblers y we podcast, so
- 9:12Speaker 7: also the Ramblers.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah that works on two levels.
- 9:15Speaker 4: I like it, but yeah, we also we love game
- 9:19Speaker 4: shows and this episode is all about game shows.
- 9:21Speaker 3: So we also think that.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Maybe the one we're going to go with is the
- 9:25Speaker 4: Showers or the game Showers shows.
- 9:29Speaker 1: The exhibition is.
- 9:34Speaker 2: The Showers. Watch me accidentally say the Showers over and
- 9:39Speaker 2: over again, the same. All right, so we have the
- 9:46Speaker 2: Showers and Stevie and Augie, you guys are going to
- 9:49Speaker 2: team up together. What what game show themed team name
- 9:52Speaker 2: do you have for me?
- 9:53Speaker 9: So, I mean, we like game shows too, but I
- 9:57Speaker 9: think Steve and I could both agree that we're just
- 9:59Speaker 9: not clever enough to win most game shows.
- 10:03Speaker 2: So I think I don't know if it's a matter
- 10:05Speaker 2: of cleverness, it might be stonedness.
- 10:09Speaker 8: But I digress.
- 10:11Speaker 9: Either way, I think a most fitting game show uh
- 10:16Speaker 9: name for us should be one out of two brain cells?
- 10:22Speaker 2: You know what, I like it? One out of two
- 10:27Speaker 2: brain cells. That is quite simply magnificent. And I really
- 10:35Speaker 2: look forward to the final round. We're gonna have to
- 10:38Speaker 2: shout that very quickly.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Oh God, I didn't didn't feel like going for the Growers,
- 10:47Speaker 4: but then we would just be the Glowers.
- 10:51Speaker 10: Oh Man, Showers and the Growers.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And lastly, it would not be a gate Laborers episode
- 10:59Speaker 2: without music. Is something that specifically inspires you from the
- 11:02Speaker 2: world of this fandom, specifically game shows. And we'll start
- 11:05Speaker 2: in the same order I did from the start of
- 11:07Speaker 2: the show, Matt, do you have a game show muse?
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yes, I do have a game show, muse. And I'm
- 11:14Speaker 4: now realizing now that I'm playing the show or the format,
- 11:18Speaker 4: how random and out of context. It seems to just
- 11:20Speaker 4: be like, what's a muse?
- 11:23Speaker 2: Aw, it's something that inspires you and is going to
- 11:27Speaker 2: push you to do well today.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, no, absolutely, you explained it perfectly. I'm
- 11:32Speaker 4: just questioning my own format. But no, this is good,
- 11:36Speaker 4: this is this is a good little test for that.
- 11:38Speaker 4: So my muse, is any of you familiar with the
- 11:43Speaker 4: Crystal Maze, the game show from from the nineties. Originally, Yes,
- 11:49Speaker 4: I believe there was a revival recently hosted by Richard Iwardi,
- 11:53Speaker 4: and that was one of my obsessions as a kid.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I loved the Crystal Maze.
- 11:58Speaker 4: After watching game shows for little bit, it suddenly blew
- 12:01Speaker 4: my mind that game shows could be physical and still
- 12:03Speaker 4: and like tell a story along the way, And so
- 12:06Speaker 4: I was like, this is inspiring so much so that
- 12:10Speaker 4: when I was around thirteen, I think I was I
- 12:14Speaker 4: was tasked with looking after all of the neighbor kids
- 12:18Speaker 4: in the area for the for the first time. I'd
- 12:20Speaker 4: never been given that responsibility before, and my first thought was, well,
- 12:24Speaker 4: I'm still a child, I'm one of the kids. So
- 12:27Speaker 4: I turned my parents house into a Crystal Maze with
- 12:34Speaker 4: games in every room like that, which they sort of
- 12:38Speaker 4: seven to ten year olds that I was looking after,
- 12:40Speaker 4: proceeded to destroy and.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Completely ruined the house.
- 12:44Speaker 4: So I'd never got in more troubles as a youth
- 12:47Speaker 4: than wrecking my parents' house to play a game of
- 12:51Speaker 4: the Crystal Maize, which, if you've seen the end of
- 12:55Speaker 4: the Crystal Maze, they finished with a game called the
- 12:56Speaker 4: Crystal Dome where you throw lots of pieces of paper everywhere.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Now pieces of paper well much smaller and much hotterer
- 13:03Speaker 4: to pick up. I did it over the cost of
- 13:06Speaker 4: about two days. That is so the Crystal Maze and
- 13:11Speaker 4: and my My follies absolutely fantastic.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I I caught a few episodes of the version with
- 13:19Speaker 2: the weird bald guy from the Dungeons and Dragons movie
- 13:22Speaker 2: whose yes, I cannot remember, Richard something.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Yeah, Richard O'Brien. He wrote the Rocky Horror Picture Show
- 13:28Speaker 4: as well.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, he was in that as well. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Multi talented guy, but did famous for three very disconnected projects,
- 13:40Speaker 2: so weird, Like.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I remember, I never saw it hearing something.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You'd recognize him the instant you saw him though, And
- 13:47Speaker 2: of course the Richard Iowadi version because because, of course,
- 13:50Speaker 2: because he's just hilarious and I adore him. Okay, excellent,
- 13:55Speaker 2: excellent muse love that a lot, uh Audra your turn.
- 13:58Speaker 2: What inspires you about the world of game shows?
- 14:02Speaker 7: In two? In true Gaateleapers fashion, I have two muses.
- 14:09Speaker 2: At least we did it for the Greek Mythology episodes. Yeah,
- 14:18Speaker 2: it's a wild ride.
- 14:20Speaker 7: So my two muses. One is that game shows. I
- 14:26Speaker 7: feel like game shows and panel shows in general are
- 14:30Speaker 7: coming in strong right now. We have tons of ones
- 14:34Speaker 7: in the UK that we watch, and also college humors
- 14:38Speaker 7: drop out, they have all they always have a panel
- 14:42Speaker 7: show going at some point in time, doing them incredibly well,
- 14:46Speaker 7: and so it is such a thriving medium right now.
- 14:50Speaker 7: I am being fed. Yes, it is so inspiring. Yes.
- 14:54Speaker 7: And the other one just for the audacity. If anyone
- 14:57Speaker 7: has seen the TV show Righteous Gemstones, there is uh
- 15:02Speaker 7: heard of it, though there Southern Uncle has Baby Billy's
- 15:07Speaker 7: Bible bonkers style Bible based game show trying his damn
- 15:20Speaker 7: dist to get made through the Mega Church. It is
- 15:26Speaker 7: pivotal in many moments of conflict throughout and.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Has a good payoff at the end.
- 15:31Speaker 7: It's a great payoff at the end. It is incredible
- 15:36Speaker 7: the audacity of this man, and it's great. So I'm
- 15:41Speaker 7: gonna hope to channel a bit of that audacity today.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I'm sure you can do it. I'm excited to see
- 15:49Speaker 2: that is quite audacious. I'm excited to see acity and
- 15:53Speaker 2: certain these games there will be some audacity needed. And
- 15:57Speaker 2: let's move over to our other team, the one out
- 16:00Speaker 2: of two brain cells, Stevie. I don't know which you represent,
- 16:05Speaker 2: the one or the other one.
- 16:09Speaker 1: But I appreciate you not saying it. I really appreciate
- 16:11Speaker 1: you not saying it.
- 16:13Speaker 7: True.
- 16:13Speaker 2: You're welcome, buddy, Stevie. What inspires you about game shows?
- 16:18Speaker 1: Well, just like the Gately person, I came up with
- 16:20Speaker 1: more than one muse as well. The first one is something.
- 16:23Speaker 5: I rarely ever get, but it's key to game shows
- 16:26Speaker 5: and it's something Without it, I don't believe it's part
- 16:29Speaker 5: of a game show, and that would be points.
- 16:32Speaker 1: So I'm gonna say five hundred points.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Points at the beginning okay, so that's that's my first use,
- 16:41Speaker 5: and we're gonna, we're gonna.
- 16:43Speaker 2: So I understand the camera literally literally never had any
- 16:48Speaker 2: contestant award themselves points. I am genuinely impressed. Thank you,
- 16:56Speaker 2: if only they counted, damn it.
- 16:58Speaker 5: The other one, the don't know how, my other muse,
- 17:02Speaker 5: and the one who's gonna give me inspiration and strength
- 17:04Speaker 5: throughout this entire game today is my fictional friend Jason.
- 17:12Speaker 1: He's here in spirit, but he's never hearing. Buddy.
- 17:17Speaker 3: That's fat. No, that's absolutely fat.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Six times. Now we're onto six six, he's gonna be
- 17:24Speaker 1: go ahead six.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I'm just I'm just gonna move on to say.
- 17:28Speaker 8: It's gonna be heartbreaking when he finally does get on
- 17:31Speaker 8: the show.
- 17:33Speaker 2: The last two times I've been on, Kate Lee, he's
- 17:35Speaker 2: been there and you haven't. So whose fault is that? Really?
- 17:40Speaker 8: Yeah, he was there when I was on.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe I don't exist. Okay, I didn't take.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Those that rabbit hole.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Don't go down that one, all right, Agie, what about
- 17:58Speaker 2: game shows inspires you?
- 18:00Speaker 8: Okay?
- 18:00Speaker 9: Well, unlike gay Leapers, I think I failed the mission
- 18:03Speaker 9: and only brought one.
- 18:05Speaker 2: We'll take it.
- 18:05Speaker 8: But however, I would say, my inspiration is you're about thing.
- 18:10Speaker 2: This is five hundred point I'm gonna kill you.
- 18:15Speaker 11: I got You're on a game show erin and you're
- 18:18Speaker 11: desperately need of a letter, right, and you can't think
- 18:23Speaker 11: of what letter you should guess you should think of
- 18:25Speaker 11: a flexible letter, and people oftentimes forget this letter. So
- 18:29Speaker 11: my inspiration, my muse today is the letter why, because
- 18:35Speaker 11: why is both a consonant and a.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Vowel and a question. What did I have right now?
- 18:46Speaker 4: I did know what I was expecting, OK, but I
- 18:48Speaker 4: wasn't expecting a big why.
- 18:50Speaker 3: You genuinely got me that when.
- 18:52Speaker 12: It comes to me, and you're always left with a
- 18:54Speaker 12: big why. But I did find something how interesting?
- 19:00Speaker 11: Apparently when I went to double check my my you know,
- 19:04Speaker 11: fact check myself to make sure I wasn't making a
- 19:06Speaker 11: big idiot at myself, I putting a giant Y in
- 19:09Speaker 11: a picture frame. Apparently the letter W is also confused
- 19:14Speaker 11: as a vowel or consonant. So today, uh, one out
- 19:19Speaker 11: of two brain cells is going to get that W.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, all right, Well we'll find out. Put a
- 19:28Speaker 2: giant why.
- 19:32Speaker 7: I very good.
- 19:35Speaker 3: That's the best piece of mon I've.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Seen genuinely could not have won.
- 19:39Speaker 9: All credit goes to my niece who did it for
- 19:41Speaker 9: me because I cannot cut in a straight line.
- 19:47Speaker 2: All right, as much as I've enjoyed this nonsense, that's
- 19:50Speaker 2: enough of this nonsense. Let's get on some games. We're
- 19:55Speaker 2: going to start with game one. Where else would you start?
- 19:59Speaker 2: Game one is going to be the big board. I
- 20:01Speaker 2: have a big board exactly as it sounds, of twelve
- 20:04Speaker 2: questions segmented into three tiers of difficulty. There are four
- 20:09Speaker 2: one thousand dollars tier questions. These are the easiest and
- 20:13Speaker 2: they're worth one point each. There are four thirty two
- 20:17Speaker 2: thousand dollar tier questions. These are medium difficulty. They are
- 20:20Speaker 2: worth two points each. And finally, there are four million
- 20:24Speaker 2: dollar tier questions. These are hard difficulty and they are
- 20:28Speaker 2: three points each. Our teams are going to be taking
- 20:30Speaker 2: turns choosing and answering questions off the board until we've
- 20:34Speaker 2: done all twelve. So I'm going to start with our guests,
- 20:39Speaker 2: the showers. Would you like to select a tier to
- 20:44Speaker 2: take in a question from now?
- 20:48Speaker 4: When Aaron was left on the show and played this game,
- 20:52Speaker 4: Aaron was straight for the difficult questions. Yep, So I
- 20:54Speaker 4: feel like games Master to games Master, you need, at
- 20:58Speaker 4: least for the first one, need.
- 21:00Speaker 7: To assert dominance of Look I was I.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Wasn't gonna put it that way. So let's let's go
- 21:07Speaker 4: for a million dollars.
- 21:09Speaker 2: This.
- 21:10Speaker 7: This is about a million dollars.
- 21:11Speaker 2: This. This is about Matt trying to assert dominance over me,
- 21:14Speaker 2: and I am loving it.
- 21:16Speaker 7: Uh.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Here is your million dollar question for three points. This
- 21:23Speaker 2: show was hosted by a weatherman from Buffalo, and it's
- 21:27Speaker 2: gameplay of having contestants form questions one word at a
- 21:31Speaker 2: time probably inspired the simplest title in game show history.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Oh interesting.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Okay, First of all, I don't want to feel I
- 21:44Speaker 4: don't want to feel stressed when answered. This is the
- 21:46Speaker 4: first question we've been posed, first question with us.
- 21:48Speaker 3: As a team.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I don't feel stressed because I'm usually like a really
- 21:51Speaker 4: stressed host. So I'm gonna be I'm gonna be cool contestant, Matt,
- 21:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna pop on these sunglasses.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I can feel there you go nice?
- 21:59Speaker 13: Cool?
- 21:59Speaker 3: There you going to take a hit from a bong?
- 22:02Speaker 1: There like it?
- 22:05Speaker 8: Now we're partying.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Feel free to discuss.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Oh, I've forgotten all game shows.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Now I can read it.
- 22:16Speaker 8: If you'd like I've forgotten one word at a time.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Yeah, we thinking American because Weatherman from Buffalo.
- 22:25Speaker 7: Yeah, weather Man from Buffalo. I feel like it was
- 22:28Speaker 7: I don't know if I recognized this one, but I
- 22:31Speaker 7: feel like it's going to be something like questions or quiz.
- 22:37Speaker 7: If they say that it's inspired like a simple title.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Do you remember a show called questions or quiz? No?
- 22:47Speaker 7: But that doesn't mean much.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Okay, well cool, Matt says, let's just go with with
- 22:57Speaker 4: what my teammates saying, because I I don't think I
- 22:59Speaker 4: know this. I think I'm going to be a little
- 23:00Speaker 4: rough on the American ones.
- 23:03Speaker 7: I think I think it's a show called questions.
- 23:07Speaker 2: You're going with questions? That is incorrect. I'm sorry, Stevie.
- 23:13Speaker 2: How do you have any guesses just for fun?
- 23:16Speaker 3: If you don't, I do, I don't.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Okay, this isn't right now, I'm thinking about it. Damn
- 23:21Speaker 1: it whatever password?
- 23:22Speaker 2: No, damn it's not password. I'll give you. I'll give
- 23:25Speaker 2: you another hint. This is not for points, but a
- 23:28Speaker 2: game show host would most likely say this word after
- 23:30Speaker 2: saying ready, oh sat no go go is the exact
- 23:37Speaker 2: right answer. It is go. The game show is simply
- 23:40Speaker 2: called Go and Go. It was on for I think
- 23:44Speaker 2: two years back in the eighties.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Oh man, oh wow.
- 23:48Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, and it was. It was hosted by
- 23:51Speaker 2: Kevin O'Connell from from our own local local news station
- 23:55Speaker 2: here in Buffalo. So I always enjoy bringing that little fact.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Wiight up anyway, no points yet, but it's still early.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it worked for me, all right. One out
- 24:09Speaker 2: of two brain cells? What difficulty would you like to tackle?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Do you want to go into mid tier?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah? Thirty thirty two thousand tiers, say Stevie and August.
- 24:18Speaker 1: So how many question clarifying? How many million dollar tier
- 24:21Speaker 1: questions were there?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Four? There's four of each. There's no there's now three
- 24:24Speaker 2: left because they've taken one.
- 24:25Speaker 8: There's four easy, four medium, four hearts.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, so here's your thirty two thousand dollars
- 24:29Speaker 2: question for two points. The British version of this American
- 24:34Speaker 2: show featured Brad's Box and Leslie's Luxury as spaces you
- 24:39Speaker 2: could land on when those men hosted it.
- 24:46Speaker 8: I think I know it is good because I have
- 24:48Speaker 8: no idea.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Is it Hollywood Squares?
- 24:51Speaker 2: It is not. I'm sorry, just for fun showers? Do
- 24:57Speaker 2: you have any guesses.
- 24:59Speaker 7: Yeah, I think of west End squares the West End.
- 25:08Speaker 3: No, I can't think of what that would be.
- 25:10Speaker 2: No, this is easier, I think than you were making it.
- 25:13Speaker 2: It's wheel of fortune. They were, they were a wheel
- 25:16Speaker 2: of fortune. Spaces, yeah, there were There are spaces on
- 25:19Speaker 2: the wheel you could land on it. It was all
- 25:22Speaker 2: about numbers, all right, no points for anybody. Yet, we're
- 25:25Speaker 2: gonna go back to the showers. Where would you like
- 25:27Speaker 2: to go? Now?
- 25:29Speaker 3: All three two, trying to get some points on the bullet.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Should weah? Should we go with a one thousand dollars?
- 25:33Speaker 7: Go with a one thousand? Try to just like it?
- 25:35Speaker 3: Yeah you're some Yeah, let's do that.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Okay, So we're gonna we're gonna try one of the
- 25:39Speaker 2: easier ones for one thousand dollars. This is a one
- 25:42Speaker 2: point question. This show had four hosts in the UK
- 25:46Speaker 2: and four hosts in the US. Looks like we'll be
- 25:49Speaker 2: Colin Kennedy who drew level with a Carnival Barker.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Ha I like that.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Oh okay, I.
- 25:59Speaker 4: See what you've done at lots of different hosts from
- 26:01Speaker 4: across Is that price price is right.
- 26:04Speaker 7: Bob Barker?
- 26:05Speaker 8: That I know?
- 26:06Speaker 7: And oh Drew.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, price is right.
- 26:09Speaker 2: The price is right, is absolutely correct. You have one point?
- 26:12Speaker 5: Well, yes, all right, I probably would have gotten.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Well, uh one out of two brain cells. Where would
- 26:23Speaker 2: you like to go? Now all three are still available.
- 26:26Speaker 8: I think we should go for the easy one. You're
- 26:29Speaker 8: not going to get anything.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Out of Get a little uh something, Get a little,
- 26:33Speaker 2: a little, a little points under your belt, a little confidence.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Little In that case, here is your one thousand dollars
- 26:41Speaker 2: question for one point, hosted by Perry U Banks, Rafferty
- 26:46Speaker 2: Forsyth and McHale. When contestants shout higher, they're not looking
- 26:52Speaker 2: for more weeds. Sorry, Stevie. I don't like this game,
- 26:58Speaker 2: and there are two correct answers because this show is
- 27:00Speaker 2: known by a different title in the UK.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I think I know higher. I think I know what
- 27:06Speaker 1: this is.
- 27:07Speaker 5: You're not saying it.
- 27:08Speaker 8: I don't. I don't because.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I have I have. You are allowed to speak it aloud.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I won't count it as your answer. And unless you
- 27:15Speaker 2: turn to me and say we're saying this.
- 27:17Speaker 5: Okay, okay, we can't look at Aaron all.
- 27:22Speaker 8: Right, don't don't walk eyes.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I'll just take the answer.
- 27:26Speaker 5: So I'm thinking it's I can't remember if it's high
- 27:28Speaker 5: card or if it's like.
- 27:30Speaker 9: It's not prices right, because that's not okay, So.
- 27:36Speaker 1: You think high card, I'm pretty sure.
- 27:38Speaker 9: Okay, I'll go with that.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Okay, cool you say it high card?
- 27:43Speaker 2: Uh, that is incorrect just for fundies. Showers, do you
- 27:48Speaker 2: think you know it?
- 27:50Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 27:50Speaker 3: Is this play your cards right.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Or card sharks? Either one I would have accepted. Card
- 27:56Speaker 2: sharks is the name that sounds. I mean high card
- 27:59Speaker 2: is basically what the game is. You guess whether it's
- 28:01Speaker 2: hire or lower, but it's not known by that name TV.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I'm afraid.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Are cod sharks in the in the US? Yes, called
- 28:07Speaker 4: cod sharks? Do you every time you take a British
- 28:10Speaker 4: show in turn American, does it always have to include
- 28:13Speaker 4: shocks because shock tank came from the British dragons Den.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:18Speaker 8: Yeah, it's got to be aggressive, that's why.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Okay, okay, Showers, Where would you like to go this time?
- 28:28Speaker 2: All three tiers are still available, but there's only two
- 28:30Speaker 2: thousand dollars questions?
- 28:31Speaker 1: Left?
- 28:33Speaker 3: Should we should we move up one and go for
- 28:35Speaker 3: a two point?
- 28:35Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 28:35Speaker 7: Yeah, see if we see what we can get, see
- 28:37Speaker 7: if we can get something?
- 28:39Speaker 2: Okay, you want to go for a thirty two thousand
- 28:41Speaker 2: dollars question. Here is please for two points. This show's
- 28:45Speaker 2: most popular run was from nineteen eighty three to nineteen
- 28:48Speaker 2: eighty nine, and while Temptation was an alternate title, its
- 28:53Speaker 2: true name sounds like you're in for a hell of
- 28:57Speaker 2: a bargain, right, I love a bargain.
- 29:07Speaker 4: I mean it kind of. It kind of makes me
- 29:08Speaker 4: think Supermarket Sweep, because the supermarket you can get a bargain.
- 29:14Speaker 3: That was always a fun show.
- 29:16Speaker 4: But I think that had runs since the fifties. I
- 29:19Speaker 4: think that's a show that goes way on back, so
- 29:21Speaker 4: it wouldn't just be from the eighties. And I say
- 29:25Speaker 4: the most popular run was in the eighties. Did you say, Aaron?
- 29:28Speaker 2: Its most popular run was nineteen eighty three to nineteen
- 29:30Speaker 2: eighty nine.
- 29:34Speaker 3: But did you call it Supermarket Sweep?
- 29:36Speaker 7: Call it Supermarket Sweep. I'm trying to think there was
- 29:38Speaker 7: a second shopping show, Oh yeah, but I cannot remember
- 29:41Speaker 7: what it was called. But I do think that Supermarket
- 29:43Speaker 7: Sweep was always more popular than it. And so I'm
- 29:47Speaker 7: down to go.
- 29:49Speaker 3: For Okay, this is the the shark Supermarket Sweep.
- 29:53Speaker 7: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Okay, So you're you're going with We're going with.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Supermarket supermarket sweep.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Okay, that is incorrect. I'm afraid Stevie and Aggie, do
- 30:08Speaker 2: you have a guest? Is just for fun?
- 30:09Speaker 1: Is it to drop?
- 30:11Speaker 12: No?
- 30:12Speaker 2: Although I think maybe that was the other shopping show,
- 30:15Speaker 2: remember watching that? Does the name Sale of the Century
- 30:19Speaker 2: ring any bells? Sale of the Century was rebranded as
- 30:27Speaker 2: Temptation in the two thousands and yeah, it was most
- 30:30Speaker 2: popular run was when it was hosted by Jim Perry
- 30:32Speaker 2: back in the late to mid eighties. All right, so
- 30:36Speaker 2: no points there. We're going to go back over to
- 30:38Speaker 2: one out of two brain cells. All difficulty tiers are
- 30:40Speaker 2: still available.
- 30:41Speaker 1: We're going to the low one. We gotta get selted.
- 30:43Speaker 2: All right, back to level one. Stevie and Aggie, here
- 30:47Speaker 2: is your clue for the thousand dollars and one point?
- 30:51Speaker 2: What is a long running US game show that would
- 30:54Speaker 2: use this answer format? And only just got a British
- 30:57Speaker 2: version hosted by Stephen Fry?
- 31:01Speaker 1: Which format?
- 31:02Speaker 2: What? Wait a minute, what do you want me to
- 31:05Speaker 2: read it? Confused? Okay?
- 31:07Speaker 8: This format?
- 31:08Speaker 2: What is a long running US game show that would
- 31:11Speaker 2: use this answer format? And only just got a British version?
- 31:14Speaker 2: Hosted by Stephen Fry.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Okay, I'm an idiot. We go with that one? Yeah,
- 31:19Speaker 1: go ahead, Jeopardy.
- 31:20Speaker 2: It is Jeopardy. That's one point I thought.
- 31:23Speaker 1: So I just want to make sure it wasn't just
- 31:25Speaker 1: me thinking of like, oh yeah, just go with me on.
- 31:27Speaker 8: This flo I wasn't sure you're going. I'm just like, okay,
- 31:29Speaker 8: I just agree with him because I have no idea.
- 31:31Speaker 2: What were you going to say?
- 31:32Speaker 7: That was clever?
- 31:33Speaker 5: Ye?
- 31:34Speaker 2: That was good?
- 31:35Speaker 3: All right, yeah, right right, clever cles.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Well done. Okay, there's more to come, So we're back
- 31:40Speaker 2: to the showers. There's only one thousand dollars to your
- 31:43Speaker 2: question left. Otherwise everything's wide open.
- 31:46Speaker 4: I saw want to take it. That's the only one
- 31:48Speaker 4: we've gotten, right, and then it falls in all of
- 31:50Speaker 4: us to step our game up.
- 31:52Speaker 2: All right, all right, so you want to go with
- 31:54Speaker 2: a level one, Yes, a thousand dollars toier question for
- 31:58Speaker 2: one point. Chevy's got nothing on this high Speed Big Brain.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Bradley Walsh hosted Trivia Fest. Just ask the professor on
- 32:07Speaker 2: our own version.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, I've got this one. It's a It's a
- 32:13Speaker 4: fantastic tea time quiz show in the UK. We are
- 32:17Speaker 4: talking about the chase.
- 32:20Speaker 2: That's absolutely right. It is the chase, one thousand percent.
- 32:23Speaker 2: We did our own version one time. I spent god
- 32:26Speaker 2: knows how long putting the program together and we did
- 32:29Speaker 2: exactly once.
- 32:30Speaker 5: Oneyh that's so good.
- 32:34Speaker 2: But I mean, the team just destroyed Andy, so it's
- 32:37Speaker 2: like they took so much money. I was like, maybe
- 32:40Speaker 2: we should take a break before we do this again.
- 32:46Speaker 2: All right, so we are back over to one out
- 32:48Speaker 2: of two brain cells. There is just the thirty two
- 32:51Speaker 2: thousand and million dollar tiers left.
- 32:53Speaker 5: I want to do thirty two K, sir, thirty two K.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do it, all right?
- 32:57Speaker 2: You ready, Yes, here is your thirty two thousand dollars question.
- 33:00Speaker 2: For two points, this show was a revival of a
- 33:03Speaker 2: game called second Chance. Newton's Loss says, this show won't
- 33:08Speaker 2: peter out. You can banks on it. Mm hmmm, what.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I know who you're talking about? Yeah, I don't know
- 33:30Speaker 1: who he's talking about some of the show. He repeated
- 33:35Speaker 1: one more time.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Sure, this show was a revival of a game called
- 33:39Speaker 2: second Chance. Newton's Loss says, this show won't peter out,
- 33:44Speaker 2: you can banks on it.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I got nothing.
- 33:55Speaker 5: With the goal with locomotion.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I got nothing.
- 33:59Speaker 2: That popular game show locomos.
- 34:02Speaker 1: You don't join the train at the right.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Home on board for your ten thousand dollars?
- 34:09Speaker 2: All right, no points? That is incouraged. Watch yes, Showers,
- 34:13Speaker 2: do you have a guest just for funzies? No?
- 34:18Speaker 4: The only thing that was coming to mind was maybe
- 34:19Speaker 4: deal or no deal because banking.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that, But no, this was press your luck.
- 34:26Speaker 3: This was press your luck.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Press your luck was was The original prototype version was
- 34:32Speaker 2: called Second Chance. It was hosted by Peter Tamarkin. In
- 34:34Speaker 2: the nineteen eighties, Todd Newton hosted the revival Whammy on
- 34:39Speaker 2: the Game Show Network, and Elizabeth Banks hosts it now
- 34:42Speaker 2: on ABC. Yeah what's he talking about? Yeah? Sorry, sorry sorry,
- 34:49Speaker 2: They're only gonna get tougher premiere, Showers, it's back to you.
- 34:53Speaker 2: There is one thirty two thousand dollars question left, and
- 34:56Speaker 2: there are three million dollar questions.
- 34:59Speaker 3: We we're big cowards, aren't we?
- 35:01Speaker 2: Yeah? No question? The last one is yours for two points.
- 35:07Speaker 2: This show originated in nineteen sixty three, but its current
- 35:12Speaker 2: iteration doesn't appear to be waning in popularity. At hall.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Oh, is there a Wayne who hosts a game show
- 35:27Speaker 4: that is a modern version of something from the nineteen sixties.
- 35:30Speaker 7: I don't know when. When was whose line original?
- 35:34Speaker 3: I don't think it was the sixties. I don't know.
- 35:36Speaker 7: I didn't know if there was like an original, because
- 35:37Speaker 7: sometimes they have them and then their revival. We don't
- 35:40Speaker 7: know that it's a revival.
- 35:42Speaker 4: And I will sound aft if I sneered at that
- 35:44Speaker 4: and it turns out someone who's listening to this going
- 35:46Speaker 4: I remember the Flower Power version?
- 35:49Speaker 3: Whose lines it?
- 35:50Speaker 2: Anyway?
- 35:50Speaker 3: Actually very much? Could you read the clue one more time?
- 35:56Speaker 2: I sure this show originated in nineteen sixty three, but
- 36:02Speaker 2: its current iteration doesn't appear to be waning in popularity
- 36:07Speaker 2: at all.
- 36:13Speaker 4: What, apart from Jeopardy, has been on the air for
- 36:16Speaker 4: just havever a long time in America.
- 36:20Speaker 7: I don't Wheel of Fortune, but I feel like I
- 36:23Speaker 7: think we've done that one. Price is Right, But we've
- 36:27Speaker 7: done that one Jeopardy, We've done that one.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Uh dude, And maybe I'm just guessing that it's America.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Maybe it's actually you can't.
- 36:39Speaker 7: Yeah, you rack your brains now.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Yeah, and we'll see how long it is before Iron
- 36:45Speaker 4: Times is out.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna have to put you for an answer.
- 36:50Speaker 7: Yeah, university challenge.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go a university challenge one.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I love it. It's wrong, but I love it. Stevie
- 37:00Speaker 2: and Augie, do you have a guess? You look like
- 37:02Speaker 2: you might have known.
- 37:02Speaker 8: I think it is right.
- 37:04Speaker 2: No, it's not. No, it's the show that's on before
- 37:09Speaker 2: price is right. Let's make a deal. Wrong, Let's make
- 37:13Speaker 2: a deal. Currently hosted by Wayne Brady and previously hosted
- 37:17Speaker 2: by Monty Hall.
- 37:19Speaker 8: I got confused.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Oh sorry, these yers are apparently way harder than I
- 37:23Speaker 2: thought they were.
- 37:25Speaker 8: No, they're easy. I'm sure everybody at home is getting that.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Yeah, let's see, we're we're gonna We're gonna swap back
- 37:31Speaker 2: over to the one out of two brain cells. Now
- 37:33Speaker 2: here's the bad news. You're stuck with a million dollar
- 37:35Speaker 2: questions because that's all that's left. So but this is
- 37:39Speaker 2: where three points. Ready, technically, here is your million million
- 37:44Speaker 2: dollar question for three points. Penn Gulette of Penn and
- 37:48Speaker 2: Teller Fame hosted this game show that asked a simple
- 37:51Speaker 2: question for half a million dollars, how much can you
- 37:55Speaker 2: guess about a person by just looking at them.
- 38:02Speaker 9: I'm familiar with the concept, I just don't the name
- 38:05Speaker 9: of the show is just not coming to mind. Oh god,
- 38:12Speaker 9: what's what's what's synonymous with?
- 38:16Speaker 8: What's anonymous with?
- 38:17Speaker 2: Uh?
- 38:18Speaker 8: Deducing? Deducing someone?
- 38:22Speaker 1: It's called recognition.
- 38:25Speaker 5: It's called because that's what that show is about.
- 38:30Speaker 8: Psycho.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Yeah, like psych. It's an amazing name. It's wrong, but
- 38:35Speaker 2: it's an amazing just for fun show ers.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Do you have a guess I've got I don't think
- 38:41Speaker 4: it's right, but I remember someone maybe who was Pendula,
- 38:44Speaker 4: hosted a show that was literally just heads or tails
- 38:46Speaker 4: where it was just like flip something. That's just that's
- 38:50Speaker 4: a pretty simple question. So I'm gonna say something.
- 38:54Speaker 2: I don't remember that show, but I'm gonna have to
- 38:56Speaker 2: look it up now. Sure Game of Chances didn't do
- 38:59Speaker 2: a show like that in the UK. I'm thinking just thinking,
- 39:03Speaker 2: like push the button.
- 39:05Speaker 4: No, this shows famous magicians and deck.
- 39:07Speaker 2: The show I was. The show I was looking for,
- 39:10Speaker 2: is identity? Identity?
- 39:13Speaker 9: It was?
- 39:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it was on for one season, didn't last long,
- 39:18Speaker 2: but there are full episodes of it on YouTube if
- 39:20Speaker 2: you're curious.
- 39:20Speaker 8: I recall it.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so we go back over to the showers again.
- 39:26Speaker 2: No choice, gotta be a million dollar questions of good luck?
- 39:28Speaker 2: It is worth three points if you can get it. Uh,
- 39:30Speaker 2: here is your question. This big money game show was
- 39:35Speaker 2: chuck full of hard trivia, though it could get a
- 39:38Speaker 2: little Jerry Springer as it asked contestants if they'd screw
- 39:42Speaker 2: over their team members for more money. Oh.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Interesting. There was a show like this in the UK
- 39:53Speaker 4: that called Golden Balls.
- 39:57Speaker 7: Nice.
- 39:57Speaker 4: The whole premise was will you screw over the teammates
- 40:00Speaker 4: that you're that you're playing with.
- 40:03Speaker 7: That's better than my options that I had, because all
- 40:07Speaker 7: I could think of was the mole. But that's not
- 40:11Speaker 7: a game show. That was a reality show.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Game show elements, but.
- 40:15Speaker 7: Show elements yours is probably a better.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Should go with Golden Balls. Golden Balls fun to say,
- 40:22Speaker 3: isn't it? Either way?
- 40:23Speaker 2: It is super fun to say. It's also super wrong.
- 40:27Speaker 2: But I enjoyed that. Stevie and Ague, do you have
- 40:30Speaker 2: a guess?
- 40:30Speaker 8: I don't know the name of that.
- 40:32Speaker 9: If it's the thing I'm thinking of where the dude
- 40:34Speaker 9: told his teammate that he was going to like portrayal
- 40:38Speaker 9: Mexter or whatever so we could rack.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Up more money.
- 40:40Speaker 8: If that's the same one.
- 40:43Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 40:45Speaker 8: No.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Chuck Wallery hosted it in the US, Jerry Springer hosted
- 40:49Speaker 2: it in the UK. It's called Greed simply.
- 40:54Speaker 7: I mean, it's a good name for that show it was.
- 40:55Speaker 2: It was for two million dollars here in the US,
- 40:58Speaker 2: and players played as team of five and between the
- 41:02Speaker 2: final four questions, the eliminator would show up land on
- 41:06Speaker 2: somebody and they'd have to choose somebody from their team
- 41:08Speaker 2: to eliminate to take their share of the money. Oh wow,
- 41:13Speaker 2: but they would have to do like a one question
- 41:14Speaker 2: shootout against them, so you know, and and to sweeten
- 41:17Speaker 2: the pot, that gave them an extra ten thousand dollars
- 41:19Speaker 2: just for doing it. So it's like, do I walk
- 41:22Speaker 2: away from guaranteed money and keep the team the same?
- 41:24Speaker 2: YadA YadA. Anyway, I'm kidding, I'm geeking out. And there's
- 41:27Speaker 2: only one question left and it goes to one out
- 41:29Speaker 2: of two brain cells for a million dollars and three points.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Stevie and Augie, here you go for three points. This
- 41:35Speaker 2: game show holds the honor of being the only one
- 41:38Speaker 2: ever hosted by Snoop Dogg.
- 41:42Speaker 8: I figured you would have figured that one out me.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Snoop hosted a show yep.
- 41:52Speaker 2: No funny word tricks at all and This one is
- 41:54Speaker 2: just a straight up the.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Show.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg hosted this. That's it all you need.
- 42:01Speaker 8: What could it possibly have been?
- 42:04Speaker 2: Maybe this was?
- 42:05Speaker 8: This was your hollow I prought you.
- 42:07Speaker 1: I watched it too, I just.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Don't remember squares if it's a baking show with Martha Stewart.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I really do not know what this is. Do you
- 42:18Speaker 1: have any idea?
- 42:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 42:24Speaker 5: Let's do a Snoop Dogg remodeling show called the Doghouse.
- 42:34Speaker 2: That I would totally watch that it's wrong, but the
- 42:38Speaker 2: shower is Do you have a guess?
- 42:39Speaker 3: Just is it? Is it Donkey style the game?
- 42:45Speaker 2: No, he actually hosted the most recent iteration of The
- 42:48Speaker 2: Jokers Wild. It was on TBS and TNT for a
- 42:52Speaker 2: while for a couple of years there.
- 42:55Speaker 4: I remember seeing some commercials for that.
- 42:57Speaker 5: Actually, yeah, I was gonna say that Tooker's Wild and like,
- 42:59Speaker 5: all right, minutes, so.
- 43:01Speaker 2: The Toper's Wild is our legally distinct Yeah we did. Okay,
- 43:11Speaker 2: So at the end of this game, we have learned
- 43:13Speaker 2: that my questions are too damn hard. So the rest
- 43:16Speaker 2: of this game should be interesting. But as it stands,
- 43:20Speaker 2: the show, I'll check where the producers assistant to see
- 43:23Speaker 2: what the scores are the showers. I realized at the
- 43:27Speaker 2: last second. There's usually a bit about you know how
- 43:30Speaker 2: to check the scores, Uh, the showers. The showers have
- 43:33Speaker 2: two points, and one out of two brain cells appropriately
- 43:36Speaker 2: has one point. Yeah, so the shower is in a
- 43:39Speaker 2: slight bit of a lead. But we'll see what happens
- 43:41Speaker 2: when we play game two right after this.
- 43:52Speaker 13: I'm Richie aka Midnight Agent Raw.
- 43:54Speaker 2: I'm Devin aka Special Delivery Dev. We're the Supermediate Bros.
- 43:58Speaker 13: Podcast and each week we give a comedically informative take
- 44:02Speaker 13: on movies, music, television, pro wrestling, and much more. Check
- 44:07Speaker 13: us out at Supermedia prospodcast dot com, Apple Podcasts, Spotify,
- 44:12Speaker 13: or anywhere else that you can listen to podcasts shades on.
- 44:15Speaker 2: We're all hey man, welcome back. It is time for
- 44:31Speaker 2: Game two. Game two is called appropriately enough, play your
- 44:35Speaker 2: cards right. This is a trivia slash intuition game. The
- 44:39Speaker 2: team in second place, that is, the one out of
- 44:41Speaker 2: two brain cells are going to choose from one of
- 44:45Speaker 2: two categories, and we'll start by asking them to bid
- 44:48Speaker 2: on the first item. If you're within a certain range
- 44:50Speaker 2: of the correct value, you'll earn a point, and for
- 44:53Speaker 2: every item after that, you'll need to say whether the
- 44:55Speaker 2: value is higher or lower than the previous item, and
- 44:59Speaker 2: you'll earn and a point for each correct guess, and
- 45:02Speaker 2: a bonus point if you can give me the value
- 45:05Speaker 2: exactly right. The game ends after both teams have tackled
- 45:09Speaker 2: a list of seven items. So I will tell you
- 45:11Speaker 2: straight out now the values that we are looking for.
- 45:14Speaker 2: I've got two categories here. They are American game shows
- 45:19Speaker 2: and British game shows. And what I'm looking for in
- 45:23Speaker 2: terms of value is the maximum possible payout, Oh, the
- 45:28Speaker 2: biggest possible win this show. So which category would you like?
- 45:34Speaker 2: Would you like to take the American game shows that
- 45:37Speaker 2: you might know a little bit better, or would you
- 45:40Speaker 2: like to take British game shows that you might not
- 45:43Speaker 2: know as well, but you might get luckier.
- 45:45Speaker 1: You could get it away from them so they don't
- 45:47Speaker 1: get them.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they do have a tiny edge, and
- 45:50Speaker 2: that one of them is British or was I don't know.
- 45:58Speaker 7: But tune into the Billies.
- 46:03Speaker 2: You see, that's fantastic.
- 46:09Speaker 1: I think we're gonna stick with the American one.
- 46:11Speaker 2: You're gonna stick with the American ones, all right? In
- 46:13Speaker 2: that case, show where is you will get the British
- 46:15Speaker 2: game shows. Uh, and we'll start with the American game
- 46:19Speaker 2: shows and one out of two brain cells. One of
- 46:21Speaker 2: two brain cells. We're gonna start with the show called
- 46:24Speaker 2: five hundred questions? What was the maximum possible payout on
- 46:31Speaker 2: the show? Five hundred questions?
- 46:33Speaker 1: Do we have the year it came out?
- 46:36Speaker 2: No?
- 46:36Speaker 1: Damn it?
- 46:37Speaker 9: All right?
- 46:39Speaker 5: Five hundred questions? How much do you shoot? How much
- 46:41Speaker 5: did you get paid for answering five hundred questions on.
- 46:43Speaker 8: Pay you a dollar a question? No, I'm thinking I
- 46:51Speaker 8: think it's like close to like the.
- 46:55Speaker 5: I think it's an older show, so I'm gonna say
- 46:57Speaker 5: it's like twenty yeah, all right, twenty five grand, sir.
- 47:03Speaker 2: I should have said the range I would give you
- 47:05Speaker 2: is a fifty percent. If you're within fifty percent of
- 47:07Speaker 2: the actual range, I will give you a point.
- 47:10Speaker 8: So how out of range are we?
- 47:13Speaker 2: Well? I'm saying that to give you the opportunity to
- 47:15Speaker 2: change your answer if you'd like, but may not. It
- 47:19Speaker 2: may not change it.
- 47:19Speaker 9: You may something twenty five thousand dollars.
- 47:23Speaker 2: You're sticking with twenty five thousand dollars. Okay. The bad
- 47:26Speaker 2: news is no point for you you are way out
- 47:29Speaker 2: more than fifty percent.
- 47:31Speaker 11: Uh.
- 47:32Speaker 2: The actual top prize on that show was five hundred
- 47:34Speaker 2: thousand dollars, so half a million? Wow?
- 47:39Speaker 3: When was this a thousand? By questions?
- 47:41Speaker 2: This was recent twenty ten's I think.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Oh, okay, that's fair. I didn't know that, all right.
- 47:46Speaker 2: So here is your second item. No points yet, but
- 47:48Speaker 2: now all you have to do is tell me higher
- 47:50Speaker 2: or lower? Dirty rotten Cheater, is the maximum payout on
- 47:56Speaker 2: this game show? Higher or lower than half a million dollars?
- 48:00Speaker 5: What do you think, aggie, dirty rotten cheater. It's probably
- 48:02Speaker 5: like a game where you have to go gainst everybody else.
- 48:04Speaker 5: You think it's probably higher half a mil?
- 48:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, higher.
- 48:07Speaker 2: You're going higher than half a million dollars? Yeah? Uh,
- 48:11Speaker 2: that is wrong, it is lower, uh, dirty rotten chairs hard.
- 48:16Speaker 2: I will still give you a chance to get a
- 48:17Speaker 2: bonus point. You know it's lower. What do you think
- 48:19Speaker 2: that a third chance? No? No, no, you got you
- 48:22Speaker 2: got to try and guess what the actual number, the
- 48:24Speaker 2: actual number is. You have to be exactly right in
- 48:26Speaker 2: this case, so no more getting close enough. I'm afraid
- 48:29Speaker 2: this is this. I'll tell you right now. This one's tough.
- 48:31Speaker 2: So just take a shot.
- 48:33Speaker 1: All right, So it's less than half.
- 48:34Speaker 2: A mill yep, it is less than half quarter mill.
- 48:37Speaker 1: No, no, it's gonna be something weird, like something stupid. Yeah,
- 48:41Speaker 1: like four hundred and fifty thousand.
- 48:42Speaker 5: No, no, no, three hundred and seventy ten grand.
- 48:46Speaker 1: No, it's not that. No, no, no, no, we're not
- 48:50Speaker 1: going grand. No, that's no. You don't pick something.
- 48:52Speaker 5: Please, we'll go one hundred and seventy five thousand.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Okay, interesting shot. Random shot was probably your best move.
- 48:58Speaker 2: It was actually sixty one one thousand dollars. Is the
- 49:01Speaker 2: maximum amount for dursificator? Sixty one thousand dollars? Yeah, all right,
- 49:06Speaker 2: I was closer, So now I'll ask you again. The
- 49:09Speaker 2: next item on the list, debt, was the game showed
- 49:13Speaker 2: debts highest payout higher or lower than sixty one thousand
- 49:18Speaker 2: dollars debt debt.
- 49:23Speaker 1: It's gonna be something like fifty thou get pissed if
- 49:25Speaker 1: I say higher, What do you think it? I'll get
- 49:28Speaker 1: sure higher, higher, higher.
- 49:30Speaker 2: You're gonna go higher than sixty one thousand dollars. Yes,
- 49:34Speaker 2: and that is wrong. It is actually lower. Sorry. Uh,
- 49:39Speaker 2: the maximum amount on debt is lower than that. But
- 49:41Speaker 2: you can still earn a bonus point if you can
- 49:43Speaker 2: tell me what that amount is.
- 49:44Speaker 8: Oh, have you heard of any of these games shows?
- 49:47Speaker 8: Because I certainly haven't. Lower than that amount.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Is ten grand?
- 49:54Speaker 2: Are you going with ten grand? Yes, it's twenty grandy.
- 49:57Speaker 2: So close. Sorry, Okay, we're gonna move from debt to
- 50:04Speaker 2: your fourth item.
- 50:05Speaker 8: Nearly there, guys.
- 50:07Speaker 2: The chamber is the maximum prize on the chamber higher
- 50:12Speaker 2: than debt or lower.
- 50:13Speaker 5: It's got to be higher, higher, higher.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Got to be higher. It is higher. It is higher.
- 50:19Speaker 2: That is a point.
- 50:19Speaker 8: I was going to quit it if it was lower.
- 50:23Speaker 7: It was lower, but ten.
- 50:27Speaker 8: You're like, you know what I'm done?
- 50:29Speaker 3: I mean you'll be playing for the grand prize six
- 50:31Speaker 3: hundred and fifty dollars.
- 50:34Speaker 2: What countdown gives out like a tea set or something.
- 50:36Speaker 3: So I don't want to yell hill.
- 50:39Speaker 2: So I could always go lower, But can you tell
- 50:43Speaker 2: me what the actual maximum amount you could win on
- 50:46Speaker 2: the chamber is?
- 50:48Speaker 1: I'll go thirty two thousand?
- 50:49Speaker 2: Sure, Sure, it's one hundred and twenty six thousand. Yeah,
- 50:53Speaker 2: it's a big jump, one hundred and twenty six thousand.
- 50:56Speaker 2: So next item, the game show Amnies. Does the game
- 51:02Speaker 2: show Amnesia have a higher or lower maximum payout than
- 51:05Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty six thousand dollars.
- 51:08Speaker 8: I've only known the video game at Amnesia, and I
- 51:10Speaker 8: doubt it has anything to do with money.
- 51:14Speaker 1: What do you think.
- 51:15Speaker 5: I don't think it's higher than that. I think it's
- 51:17Speaker 5: lower lower.
- 51:17Speaker 1: I'm probably wrong.
- 51:19Speaker 8: Yeah, probably lower lower.
- 51:23Speaker 2: You're probably wrong. You are wrong.
- 51:25Speaker 12: It is higher, almost as if it was a fifty
- 51:27Speaker 12: to fifty shot. What was that game about something?
- 51:36Speaker 8: I think there was something there where?
- 51:38Speaker 2: Do you think they may have been something?
- 51:41Speaker 5: You know?
- 51:41Speaker 2: You know? The values higher than one hundred and twenty
- 51:44Speaker 2: six thousand. You tell me what the value is for
- 51:47Speaker 2: a bonus point? No, just just take a shot? Try something? Well,
- 51:52Speaker 2: this is this is gettable?
- 51:53Speaker 8: It was what? What was higher?
- 51:56Speaker 2: Higher than one hundred and twenty six thousand.
- 52:00Speaker 8: Two hundred twenty five Sure it's.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Was like a quarter
- 52:07Speaker 2: of a million dollars. And this game show asked you
- 52:10Speaker 2: questions about yourself and your past life, like like, well,
- 52:15Speaker 2: they talked to your family, They talk to your family
- 52:17Speaker 2: and your friends and look things up public information about
- 52:20Speaker 2: you and stuff.
- 52:21Speaker 7: Oh, I thought it was like my past lives like.
- 52:27Speaker 2: You've been resrected by when when you were Lancelot? Did
- 52:31Speaker 2: you know when you killed all you guys?
- 52:35Speaker 8: How do you feel about that?
- 52:36Speaker 2: Now you've got two more chances to get points on
- 52:39Speaker 2: this one. So yep, so amnesia amnesia was two hundred
- 52:43Speaker 2: and fifty thousand? Was paranoia have a higher or lower
- 52:49Speaker 2: maximum maximum payout than amnesia? Paranoia?
- 52:56Speaker 1: Horror?
- 52:56Speaker 8: Paranoia?
- 52:57Speaker 5: Like?
- 52:58Speaker 1: This is why I even higher than that?
- 52:59Speaker 8: Now it's a it's a part I thing either just
- 53:02Speaker 8: fucking with us?
- 53:03Speaker 6: High?
- 53:03Speaker 2: Higher?
- 53:04Speaker 1: Yeah? Higher?
- 53:05Speaker 2: Higher? It is, right? And where the point it is? Higher?
- 53:08Speaker 10: God?
- 53:09Speaker 2: So can you tell me now what is paranoia's maximum payout?
- 53:12Speaker 1: You think half a miller, full mill?
- 53:15Speaker 12: One million dollars.
- 53:18Speaker 2: It's a good shot, but it's one and a half
- 53:20Speaker 2: million dollars. Fuck you Well, you got a point for
- 53:29Speaker 2: getting it right that it was higher. So enjoy that
- 53:31Speaker 2: you've got one last chance. And this is this is
- 53:34Speaker 2: for another point. Is the power of ten have a
- 53:39Speaker 2: higher maximum payout than paranoia? Or is it lower?
- 53:42Speaker 8: No one said there'd be math higher or lower the
- 53:45Speaker 8: power of ten. What's the power of ten? I've never
- 53:49Speaker 8: heard of the power of ten?
- 53:50Speaker 5: God damn it it's gonna be stupid higher lower lower lower.
- 53:54Speaker 2: You're going lower. Yeah, that's wrong, it's actually higher. It's
- 53:58Speaker 2: angry higher than one five million. You can still get
- 54:01Speaker 2: a bonus point if you can tell me what is
- 54:03Speaker 2: the maximum payout on this show.
- 54:05Speaker 5: This is one and a half million right now, higher
- 54:07Speaker 5: than one and a half something.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Dumb round number five?
- 54:11Speaker 1: Sure?
- 54:13Speaker 2: Five million?
- 54:14Speaker 8: Yeah, best game.
- 54:18Speaker 2: I love you guys. The show is called the Power
- 54:21Speaker 2: of Ten. It's ten million dollars. I was so trying
- 54:27Speaker 2: to give you a gimme on the last one and
- 54:29Speaker 2: I just couldn't. I asked you what's the highest value
- 54:33Speaker 2: on a show called the Power of ten? And you
- 54:36Speaker 2: said five?
- 54:40Speaker 12: Oh man, you asked us to remember that a cost
- 54:44Speaker 12: of me.
- 54:48Speaker 2: So after all of that, you've gotten two points, yeah,
- 54:52Speaker 2: more than the first game out of a possible fourteen or.
- 54:55Speaker 5: Double our points in the second game ever, kick it.
- 54:57Speaker 2: As all right, showers, I wish you the best of luck. Yes,
- 55:04Speaker 2: that's okay. So your list was British game shows, so
- 55:08Speaker 2: all the values will be in British pounds, and we're
- 55:12Speaker 2: going to start with Gordon Ramsey's bank balance. What was
- 55:18Speaker 2: the give me a bit on what you think the
- 55:20Speaker 2: maximum payout was on Gordon Ramsey's bank balance.
- 55:25Speaker 4: So God Ramsey was with Channel four for a long time,
- 55:29Speaker 4: for like most of his career, and that tends to
- 55:31Speaker 4: pay out in the mid range. Stuff Like the format
- 55:36Speaker 4: I'm going to go for with this is if it
- 55:37Speaker 4: sounds like it's BBC, it's going to be a lower payout.
- 55:40Speaker 4: It's ITV, it's going to have a massive payout, and
- 55:42Speaker 4: if it's Channel four, it's going to be somewhere in
- 55:44Speaker 4: the middle. And if you don't know your history of
- 55:47Speaker 4: British television broadcasting, then I'm sorry, Let's say two hundred
- 55:53Speaker 4: and fifty pounds.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Two hundred comfortable with that, and yes, that's what you're
- 55:59Speaker 2: going with. Okay, that is sadly not within fifty percent.
- 56:05Speaker 2: It was one hundred thousand pounds. Your instincts were in
- 56:07Speaker 2: the right place. You just went a little too high, Okay,
- 56:09Speaker 2: But yeah, it was one hundred thousand pounds. So that's
- 56:11Speaker 2: your starting location. Let's move on to your next game show.
- 56:16Speaker 2: I literally just told you is the highest payout and
- 56:21Speaker 2: I literally just told you higher or lower than one
- 56:24Speaker 2: hundred thousand pounds.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Again with Channel four. Yes, more recent.
- 56:30Speaker 7: I've watched the celebrity ones of these, but they're never
- 56:35Speaker 7: I'm assuming they're not very good at this because they
- 56:38Speaker 7: never get up to anywhere near one hundred thousand.
- 56:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and you can un pretty regularly throughout it when
- 56:47Speaker 4: when Jimmy Carr asks those questions, and then I think
- 56:49Speaker 4: this bonuses at the end as well as even something out.
- 56:52Speaker 3: So maybe higher than one hundred thousand.
- 56:54Speaker 7: We can try a higher than one hundred thousand.
- 56:56Speaker 3: Let's say higher.
- 56:57Speaker 2: You're going higher. It is low, I'm afraid no, but
- 57:03Speaker 2: you can still earn a bonus point if you can
- 57:04Speaker 2: tell me what the exact maximum value is and you
- 57:07Speaker 2: know it's lower than one hundred thousand.
- 57:11Speaker 3: I feel like it's either going to be fifty or
- 57:13Speaker 3: seventy five.
- 57:13Speaker 7: Yeah, let's go fifty.
- 57:18Speaker 3: Let's go fifty.
- 57:20Speaker 2: It's twenty five, twenty five.
- 57:23Speaker 4: Jimmy, Jimmy Copp, You've got more money than that, Jimmy,
- 57:26Speaker 4: what are you doing?
- 57:27Speaker 7: What was all that taxi brought us? Freaking game show?
- 57:33Speaker 2: All right, So no points there, but we can make
- 57:36Speaker 2: it up. Here is your next item, does the game
- 57:39Speaker 2: show chase the case have a higher or lower maximum
- 57:44Speaker 2: payout than twenty five thousand pounds.
- 57:48Speaker 3: This sounds like ITV trash.
- 57:53Speaker 4: But I think we're at twenty We're at twenty five thousands,
- 57:56Speaker 4: so I think we've got to go higher, right.
- 57:58Speaker 7: It's gotta be it's gotta be.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Yeah, let's let's say higher.
- 58:02Speaker 2: You're saying higher, it's lower. I'm afraid no, it is lower.
- 58:08Speaker 2: It is ITV trash, and it is lower. Give me
- 58:12Speaker 2: a value lower than twenty five thousand. If you're exactly
- 58:15Speaker 2: spot on, I'll give you a point.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Ten K, yeah, ten k, Yeah, let's go ten k.
- 58:21Speaker 7: Ten k's round.
- 58:23Speaker 2: It's five k. It's five thousand pound, five thousand pounds.
- 58:30Speaker 2: I mean it beats it. It beats a teapot. It
- 58:33Speaker 2: it does beats, but it is five thousand. Yeah. It
- 58:38Speaker 2: lasted like what one or two seasons, I think, and
- 58:41Speaker 2: then it.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Disappeared pretty clearly, come down.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Still going and still giving away teapots any exactly. Okay,
- 58:48Speaker 2: So you have a value five thousand pounds? Is the
- 58:51Speaker 2: game show impossible? Have a higher or lower maximum payout
- 58:55Speaker 2: than five thousand pounds? The show is called impossible? All right?
- 59:01Speaker 3: This this round is impossible. Clearly, I was so.
- 59:07Speaker 2: Sure that two of you were going to stop stevianog
- 59:09Speaker 2: into a hole in the ground, and I've been so
- 59:12Speaker 2: incredibly wrong.
- 59:15Speaker 7: Much like one of our favorite game shows, Only Connect,
- 59:18Speaker 7: I will have made less than five points during that.
- 59:25Speaker 4: Same same logic as last time, but for real this time,
- 59:27Speaker 4: but for ren't be anything lower than five.
- 59:30Speaker 3: So let's let's say higher.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm having fun with you. It is higher.
- 59:38Speaker 2: That's a point.
- 59:41Speaker 8: I can strangle them for you.
- 59:44Speaker 2: Now hit him over the head with the why you
- 59:47Speaker 2: know it's higher so you can earn a bonus point?
- 59:50Speaker 2: Who you can tell me what the actual value is this.
- 59:54Speaker 4: I've not actually heard of this one, but it sounds
- 59:56Speaker 4: like a big flagship Saturday night sort of thing. So
- 59:59Speaker 4: I I think we'll be moving back up again to yeah,
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: one hundred thousand.
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: Yeah, maybe some big bucks.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Yeah pounds, not bucks, the queen sterling, sorry, the King's sterling.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Now, okay, so.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: You're going with one hundred thousand pounds, one hundred thousand pounds.
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: I think we're jumping back up.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: It's actually ten thousand pounds.
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: Okay, but if it's impossible, why not off for ten million?
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Right? Right? Okay, so you've got a value of ten
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: thousand pounds. Is the game show five gold rings have
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: a higher or lower maximum payout than ten thousand pounds.
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Now we've got to learn from the mistakes of our forefathers.
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: And do we consider the number five here as alongside
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: number ten? And do we think maybe this is actually
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: for five thousand pounds or do we think each gold
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: ring is.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: Worth more than hundred five hundred, five hundred thousand.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: I don't know if do British game shows even go
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: that high?
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: I don't know. I think they go that.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: I think I think he wants to be a millionaire,
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: might be the only one. And I don't think we're
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: going to get that one because that gives it away
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: in the title, Yeah, should should we say? Should we
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: say higher? And like they've gone with each gold ring
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: is worth more than a thousand?
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: Yeah, go for it.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: We're saying higher.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: You're saying higher, and it is higher. So that's another boy,
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: well done? All right, So you know it's higher than
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: ten thousand pounds if you can give me the exact
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: value it's worth.
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: A bonus point, could each ring be worth tenhout like
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: around number, because then it's fifty thousand, so it is
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: a solid amount of money.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's what is reasonable unreasonable?
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: Yeah, what's the what's the current price of gold?
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: You's got to look at the stock market real quick.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: So what's the value you're going with here?
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: We'll say we'll say fifty thousand, fifty thousand.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: It's a nice shot. It's actually twenty five thousand pounds.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: Five thousand costs not exactly. The first one's worth one thousand,
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: and then twenty five hundred, then five thousand and ten
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: than twenty its exponentially, it just throws grows as the
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: ring itself gets smaller and smaller. Anyway, it's an interesting
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: trivia show because you have to place this ring on
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: a picture, and if you've got it in the right place,
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: or at least part of the right place is covered
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: by your ring, get you get the money. Okay, it's
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: a neo idea anyway, I like that. So you've got
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: a value of twenty five thousand pounds. Is the twenty
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: fourteen revival of fifteen to one have a higher or
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: lower maximum payout than twenty five thousand pounds.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: See, it's like a it's like a daily daytime quiz show,
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: is what it tends to be. Okay, even I think
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: the revival, so.
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: There's a lot of episodes, and so the amount is
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: probably going to be lower.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: I think so.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: And I think like the daily quiz shows, you can
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: get people on for like ten thousand off of that
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: is your max prize.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: I'm sort of tempted to go lower.
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: I would also be tempted to go lower, knowing where
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: it sits in the entertainment sphere.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go lower.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: You're going lower. It's actually higher. Sorry, So knowing that,
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: can you guess what the actual value is higher than
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: twenty five pounds for a bonus point.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: I don't think there's any kind of I'm going to
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: say this and then there will be I don't think
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: there's any kind of play on the fifteen and the
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: idea being so like one hundred and fifty thousand could
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: be the maximum. I don't think it's that big.
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: I think i'd go like just like a little bit
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: higher and go to that fifty.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: Just hit that fifty, kekesh, just hit that fifty. Yeah,
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: we'll hit fifty thousand.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: It's a very close, very nice try. It's actually forty
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: thousand pounds goes to the Grand goes to the Grand Champion.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Every series.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Ah, that makes sense.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I di oth the forty thousand pounds, So that's
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: your value forty thousand pounds, and here is your last
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: item five minutes to a fortune the non celebrity version,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: so regular people, is the maximum prize higher or lower
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: than forty thousand pounds?
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: I wish I could remember all sequence so I could
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: stop gaming the game's masta.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you want me to tell you what the
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: sequence was up until now? I mean, yeah, if you
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: have one hundred thousand lower, lower, higher, higher, higher, I.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Mean feels like we should go lower.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: It feels like we should go lower, unless he was
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: double luffing us by mentioning it. But I'm gonna go
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: with your instinct first. I mean, like, I'll tell you
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: that's such a good point, the fact that he was
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: so killing to be like, do you want to know?
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: But double bluffs exist? Double bluff they do?
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: Yeah, hmmmm, I'm gonna say Lowa, I'm gonna say it
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: first thought.
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: First thought, let's go with it.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Oh man, never try to game a games master. It's higher,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: it's higher. I'm sorry. Okay, so you know it's higher
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: than forty k so you can still get a bonus
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: point if you can tell me what is the maximum
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: prize on five minutes to a fortune, the non celebrity version.
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: Nonsense, well, the celebrity version. Famously, it's a trillion pounds.
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: One trillion or the moon, if you should choose, yeah, if.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: You should choose for right, Yeah, So should we go
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: with something random for this is? Yeah, Aaron picktive for
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: the last one.
- 1:06:02Speaker 7: And it's actually like, I'm not going to say sixty
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: nine is a real answer, but I am going to
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: say it as a joke answer right now.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Yeah, let's say sixty nine thousand pounds.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Oh, man, if you'd just gone with your previous guess
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: it's fifty thousand pounds. No, it's just ten grand higher
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: than fifteen to one.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: Oh, I'm tasting my own medicine.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's sour.
- 1:06:25Speaker 7: For freaking stress.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Well right, well, now that I'm putting my contestants through hell,
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: I'm going to check the scores by looking at the
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: front of their podiums and read it in its egg
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: crate font For the one out of two brain cells,
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: they have three points, but the showers have four points.
- 1:06:48Speaker 10: Yes, it's a close game. It's going to be the
- 1:06:53Speaker 10: lowest close game. It's going to be the lowest scoring
- 1:06:55Speaker 10: gately forer so much ever, as we move into the quickfire,
- 1:07:00Speaker 10: the quick fire round is gonna determine it at all.
- 1:07:02Speaker 10: And that's game three coming up right after this.
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: If you like fun, then you're gonna love the beard
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: Out Podcast.
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: It's a podcast where we talk about two of the
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: greatest things in the world, Beer and weird Out, And frankly,
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: we talk more about weird Out than anything because he's.
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: The gift that keeps on given.
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: So join us as we talk through weird Al's career,
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: what he needs of us, and we have some very
- 1:07:35Speaker 6: special guests on to discuss the magic that is Alfred
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: Matthew Yankovic. Beard Out part of the Odd God Media Network.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for Game three. Usually
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: game three on gaately Bruzus's different kind of game entirely
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: they do more than the three over there, But for us,
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: because we're running a bit faster, we're doing a quick
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: fire round now. It always ends every gate Leapers episode.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: This is a trivia game where the clues will come
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: fast and furious, and players are going to have to
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: buzz in by shouting their team name. The Internet lag
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: that the gate Leapers have should be offset by how
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: Stone and Stevie and Augie.
- 1:08:21Speaker 8: Are and how long our name is.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there is a point for each correct answer, and
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: the team at the most points win. The buzzer sounds
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: is our final winner. And this round is always on
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: gate Leapers about the wider put culture knowledge. And this
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: round is no exception. This round is about game show
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: hosts who appeared in other TV shows and movies.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Oh jeez, Okay, So, like the regular quickfire.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Round, you'll have to buzz in by shouting your team
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: names or a portion of it. You guys can just
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: pick like one word from yours to shout, and everyone
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: tests that now showers showers, showers, and you guys are
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: going to brain.
- 1:09:00Speaker 9: Cells, rainzells or calls brain cells.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Brain tells it is versus the showers. All right, So
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: I'm going to read a clue to the movie or
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: TV show in particular in the style of a smarmy
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: game show host. In other words, I'll use my regular
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: voice once once you know the pop culture property I'm describing,
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: buzz in and say the correct answer. But as always,
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: there is a classic gate Leapers twist. You must then
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: follow that answer with for the and name a prize
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: that you might win on a game show. Okay. For example,
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: if I were to say this sitcom starred a Price's
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Right host who got oddly excited about stones from Cleveland showers, Audra.
- 1:09:52Speaker 7: Is the Drew Carey Show for a chance to spin
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: that big wheel.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: Yeah, winds a chance to spind that big wheels? She
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: is exactly right? Did you carry show? Yeah? And I
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: was just referring to Cleveland rocks. Yeah, and so everyone's
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: got it. That was not worth the point, sorry, but
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: it was well done.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: I gotta take my cool guy glasses off.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: I got all right.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: So if everybody's ready, you're already ahead, don't get serious.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Mouth's on buzzers. Well, hosts usually say fingers on buzzers.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: But that's not gonna wear here. Okay, if you're ready,
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: your time starts now. A family feud host played the
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: villain in this Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle that sounds like he's
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: not using one.
- 1:10:48Speaker 8: Stumped off the bad I see, ah.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: What nothing.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I am so lost. I'm gonna go with brain cells.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: Brain tells you, all right, you buzzed in, give me
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: an answer for the Puppy Show. I should be clear,
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: I'm not looking for the host.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I'm looking for the Mohra. That's confused, doesn't make any sense.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Let me make this clear first of all, Shower, I
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: will always be looking for the movie or TV show
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: in question, not the host, but I might leave the
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: name out if I feel like that's too big of
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: a clue. Okay, so aud you did buzz in? Do
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: you have an answer?
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: Kindergarten cop for the countdown teapot?
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I like that, but it's wrong. Anyone else want to
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: buzz in before I call time? Brain cells? Brain cells? Uh?
- 1:11:50Speaker 8: Terminator for the stuffed rat?
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: No?
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: No, sorry, no stuff. Matt show is what do you
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: want to say?
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: Twins Speedboat?
- 1:12:01Speaker 7: No?
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Sorry, guys, that's incorrect. The movie I was looking for
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: is The Running Man. Oh, okay, The Running Man. The
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: villain was played by Richard Dawson, who hosted The Family Feud.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: Yeah wow, yeah, absolutely, well now I got to watch
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: it twice.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: All right, Well that's one down, let's keep going. Uh,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: nobody got the point in that one. A game show
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: host has starred in this variety show since two thousand
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: and six, but he sadly never once offers any of
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: the acts a deal from the banker.
- 1:12:40Speaker 8: Brain cells.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Okay, Ogie, what do you got?
- 1:12:43Speaker 8: Who is Howie Mandel? For the used condom?
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: No, again, as I just as I just explained, I'm
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: not looking for the host name. I'm looking for the show.
- 1:12:57Speaker 8: Because I'm not getting that used condom.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: It's also not a prize on a game show. I
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: would have disqualified you the stuff for that was.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: I can believe that.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: These are too hard.
- 1:13:15Speaker 8: That's difficult. It is literally just us.

- 1:23:00Speaker 2: your show to have our listeners check it out? Maybe?
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: Yeah, just that this was a fantastic sort of promo
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: for what we do. We do rounds very similar to this,
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: about a different fandom for each episode, so we theme
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: it on a different pop culture product like a movie
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: series or an anime or a video game series, and
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: we just yeah, have sort of ninety minutes of fun
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: in that space and play stupid games and there are
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: no prizes, and it's a good time. You should check

- 1:23:54Speaker 13: Oh yeah, you.

- 1:24:50Speaker 7: my Instagram, and I was like, what were we doing
- 1:24:52Speaker 7: in twenty twenty two? Did I post anything? I posted
- 1:24:55Speaker 7: one photo in the entirety of twenty twenty two.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: That's the way you're supposed to do it. And as
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: for me, when this episode comes out my Kickstarter for
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: a Thane, the audiobook will be live. Wow, So please

- 1:25:58Speaker 2: like I've said, I'm such a huge fan of the
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: game Leebers and I so enjoy what they do and
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: being on their show that I had to show it off.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: So thank you again for letting me homage and maybe
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: slightly roast your show a little bit off, but.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: That's kind of ama.
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's enjoy I genuinely love being a
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: part of it and listening to it. So thank you

- 1:27:09Speaker 3: good news.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: You won because Adro went on a terror. And see, Stevie,
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: if you had given me a prize, if you had
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: given me the prize at the end of that, you
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: would have tied it up. It would have been ten
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: to ten. It was a close game, yeah, but I
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: have to call you on it if you're not if
