- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus at the ten yard lives second to day
- 0:08Speaker 1: free wide receivers now in motion as Bumpas left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones. A single setback Matt pump Fecks looking at
- 0:14Speaker 1: the goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppas and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. What up, folks,
- 0:35Speaker 1: This is Talk Preview Week two. I'm your host Michael
- 0:38Speaker 1: Bumpas along with Nasa Shoby. The Hawks take on the
- 0:41Speaker 1: pages this week at Century Link. But before we get
- 0:44Speaker 1: into it, here's Nas with the injury updates. Thanks bump
- 0:46Speaker 1: The Seahawks are actually doing pretty well from an injury standpoint,
- 0:49Speaker 1: especially considering the abnormal preseason they had this year. Pete
- 0:52Speaker 1: Carroll stepped to the podium earlier this week and provided
- 0:55Speaker 1: updates on Philip Door set Cedric of Boyhe and got
- 0:58Speaker 1: things going with an update on Rashime Green. It's gonna
- 1:01Speaker 1: take all week for us to figure it out with him,
- 1:03Speaker 1: see how he comes back. He got some test on
- 1:05Speaker 1: today so we will know, um. But otherwise we're in
- 1:08Speaker 1: pretty good shape. We're gonna get Philip Doors set back
- 1:11Speaker 1: on the field today. We'll see how he does. Ready,
- 1:13Speaker 1: get in getting ready for the weekend. So we're in
- 1:17Speaker 1: pretty good shape. Scoot. I didn't mention Cedric. Cedric still
- 1:21Speaker 1: he's still gonna be hampered a little bit. We won't
- 1:23Speaker 1: know until the end of the week on Cedric. All right.
- 1:25Speaker 1: The Pages defeated the Dolphins twenty one eleven, and a
- 1:29Speaker 1: big reason for that is mister Cam Newton exter hammer
- 1:34Speaker 1: rolls the right. Cam's gonna run it to the tad
- 1:36Speaker 1: outside of the five No to the pylon. Got down
- 1:39Speaker 1: down Patriots this second. It is New England debut. That's
- 1:43Speaker 1: a man right there. Boy boy, we saw this couple
- 1:48Speaker 1: years ago. Did you co get to set off some
- 1:49Speaker 1: of those keepers around in it? Then the uh former
- 1:56Speaker 1: Georgia Bulldog Tea captain David Andrews gets hitted the ball
- 2:00Speaker 1: for the spike. That's why to smell a goal on
- 2:03Speaker 1: and get in and lower your shoulder. Cam did his thing.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Fifteen of nineteen one hundred and fifty five yards, no
- 2:08Speaker 1: throwing touchdowns, but he did have two rushing touchdowns and
- 2:11Speaker 1: had seventy five yards on the ground. That's the most
- 2:14Speaker 1: since nineteen seventy seven. Needless to say, nast This offense
- 2:18Speaker 1: is looking a little different with Cam Newton run the show.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Oh it looks night and day different, honestly. Obviously Tom
- 2:24Speaker 1: Brady not in the Patriots uniform for the first time
- 2:27Speaker 1: since two thousand and three, so definitely a weird sight
- 2:29Speaker 1: to see for Patriots fans and really anyone across the NFL.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And Cam Newton man, he looked like he was back
- 2:34Speaker 1: at Auburn, looked like he's back those early days in
- 2:36Speaker 1: Carolina and running that football. Will definitely get into him
- 2:39Speaker 1: and what that looks like in that offense. But it
- 2:41Speaker 1: definitely looks night and day. He's going to carry the
- 2:43Speaker 1: pill and fifteen times. It's a lot for a quarterback,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yes it is. It is a lot. But we can't
- 2:48Speaker 1: forget about Julian Ellman. He had five catches for fifty
- 2:50Speaker 1: seven yards, and I think as the season progresses, his
- 2:53Speaker 1: numbers are gonna go up because people are gonna pay
- 2:55Speaker 1: attention to the run. They're gonna play some games as
- 2:58Speaker 1: far as run pass options, But as long as you
- 3:00Speaker 1: have Julian Edelman, you have a consistent slot receiver that
- 3:04Speaker 1: you can count on. Sony ten carries, thirty seven yards
- 3:08Speaker 1: and a touchdown. They got some running backs. Now, it's
- 3:10Speaker 1: not just Cam Right, They're gonna as this season goes along,
- 3:13Speaker 1: we're gonna start hearing more names. Well, I think a
- 3:15Speaker 1: lot of what happened. I think probably that we'll talk
- 3:17Speaker 1: about is just what was available to them. Cam is
- 3:20Speaker 1: making reads and it just played out that way that
- 3:22Speaker 1: he was carrying the ball as m Sony Michelle, a
- 3:24Speaker 1: young kid out of Georgia, is a kid that can play.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So I think he's gonna be a big factor on Sunday.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It's gonna be a factor. And you cannot talk about
- 3:31Speaker 1: the Patriots and not talk about their defense. Last year
- 3:34Speaker 1: had one of the best defenses in the league. Lost
- 3:37Speaker 1: a few guys because they decided to sit out and
- 3:39Speaker 1: move along, but they still picked off Ryan Fitzpatrick three times.
- 3:44Speaker 1: This defense can still get it done, and it's gonna
- 3:46Speaker 1: be a different challenge for the Hawks this week. Absolutely,
- 3:48Speaker 1: And I think I think you look at both teams,
- 3:50Speaker 1: the Falcons defense compared to the Patriots defense, definitely different.
- 3:53Speaker 1: You're looking at something completely different. I feel like the
- 3:55Speaker 1: Patriots are picking up where they left off in twenty nineteen.
- 3:57Speaker 1: As you mentioned, one of the best teams in the NFL,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and the thing that they do well is take the
- 4:01Speaker 1: ball away and when you get three turnovers in the game,
- 4:04Speaker 1: like they did last Sunday, you're gonna win a lot
- 4:05Speaker 1: of those games. But honestly, Bump, this game was closer
- 4:08Speaker 1: than the final score indicated. It's only a ten point game,
- 4:10Speaker 1: but they didn't They didn't go up until Sony Michel's
- 4:14Speaker 1: touchdown was five twenty three and the fourth quarters, so
- 4:16Speaker 1: the Dolphins were still in this despite turning the ball
- 4:18Speaker 1: over three times. Yeah, it was a grinder. And then
- 4:20Speaker 1: the way that the Pages are playing, you expect to
- 4:22Speaker 1: have these type of games, right They're not super explosive.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Right now, when you run the ball how many times
- 4:27Speaker 1: forty two times, I mean, you're going to grind the
- 4:30Speaker 1: game out. It kind of reminds me of those grinders
- 4:32Speaker 1: at the Seahawks used to put together. But with this
- 4:34Speaker 1: this new offense, you know, we're not We're not gonna
- 4:36Speaker 1: see much of that I guess all right, so the
- 4:38Speaker 1: last time these teams played in twenty sixteen, let him
- 4:42Speaker 1: know what happened. Gronk goes to the far side. He's
- 4:44Speaker 1: got chance for on him. Brady, He's gonna throw the
- 4:47Speaker 1: ball up for Gronkowski, who pushes off head of Ted,
- 4:50Speaker 1: completing the insome. He pushed. He pushed off head. The
- 4:55Speaker 1: ball sales over his head and the insom. With seconds
- 5:00Speaker 1: left on fourth down, good Seahawks are gonna take over
- 5:05Speaker 1: on the one yard line. With one time out left.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Good Seahawks can take a couple of knees. The fans
- 5:14Speaker 1: are gooing, Holy smoke, go Seahawks are gonna win this.
- 5:20Speaker 1: That game, bump was wild. That was one of other
- 5:23Speaker 1: than the forty nine Ers win on the road last year.
- 5:25Speaker 1: As an executive producer, that was probably one of the
- 5:27Speaker 1: funniest games I've ever worked. To take it down to
- 5:30Speaker 1: the goal line on the one yard line. Specifically in
- 5:33Speaker 1: New England on Sunday night football Camp, Chancellor one on
- 5:37Speaker 1: one with Rob gun Kelsey in the back of the
- 5:38Speaker 1: end zone. Everyone down there was crying for passing interference.
- 5:41Speaker 1: They didn't get the call. Seahawks win. Great game. Every
- 5:45Speaker 1: time these two teams get together, it's definitely gonna be
- 5:47Speaker 1: some fun stuff. We are not going to mention the
- 5:50Speaker 1: team the time they played before that, but the last
- 5:54Speaker 1: time they linked up. The Seahawks handle business in New England.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So of course, with Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick, every
- 5:59Speaker 1: time they link up, it's always gonna be a fun matchup.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It's always gonna be a fun matchup. Contrasts of styles.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Two teams who have been successful for ten years straight,
- 6:09Speaker 1: the pages for twenty years. Hawks has jumped in about
- 6:11Speaker 1: a decade ago. But always love when these two teams
- 6:14Speaker 1: get together. Now, let's talk about the key matchups. The
- 6:17Speaker 1: first one that we touched on a bit, it's Cam
- 6:19Speaker 1: Newton versus Seattle Seahawks defense. He brought some Carolina Panther
- 6:22Speaker 1: with them. They're running the read options, the RPOs, and
- 6:25Speaker 1: they're getting him on the edge. They're making him a runner. Now,
- 6:28Speaker 1: last week they played against Matt Ryan, Who's the guy
- 6:30Speaker 1: who's just gonna toss the ball around. If he's running,
- 6:33Speaker 1: he's getting out of the pocket and he's thrown it away.
- 6:35Speaker 1: So it presents a different challenge. This defensive line and
- 6:38Speaker 1: these linebackers are going to be tested in a different way.
- 6:41Speaker 1: What do you expect out of these guys? Well, honestly,
- 6:43Speaker 1: like I said, you mentioned it watching all the zone
- 6:45Speaker 1: read stuff, and I got to watch a little bit
- 6:47Speaker 1: of a film on them, and it's it's just gonna
- 6:49Speaker 1: be completely different in the sense of they'll go other
- 6:51Speaker 1: packages where it's twelve personnel, where they got two tight ends,
- 6:54Speaker 1: where they got running backs, when they got all this
- 6:56Speaker 1: motion and Cam's reading the end. So it's definitely gonna
- 6:59Speaker 1: be something where all Adams, I think, is going to
- 7:01Speaker 1: play another huge factor when he's in the box, and
- 7:03Speaker 1: how are they going to account for him? And I
- 7:05Speaker 1: just think Cam when he comes at you downhill, Like
- 7:07Speaker 1: you said, it's completely different. This is not a guy
- 7:09Speaker 1: where you can just you know, arm tackle get him down.
- 7:12Speaker 1: He is someone you gotta put your chest on him.
- 7:14Speaker 1: He's a big dude. And while he's been banged up
- 7:16Speaker 1: the last couple of years. He missed about twelve games
- 7:18Speaker 1: last year and a couple of the year before, he
- 7:20Speaker 1: had an all offseason to get ready. Yet all this
- 7:22Speaker 1: time he had all these haters, all these doubters talking
- 7:25Speaker 1: about him. I don't know he's gonna work in the
- 7:26Speaker 1: Patriots system. I don't know he's gonna do this. So
- 7:29Speaker 1: the man is motivated. So they're gonna get an absolutely
- 7:31Speaker 1: motivated Cam Newton. Everything you know about Cam Newton, the bravado,
- 7:35Speaker 1: the confidence and all that, and just seeing what they
- 7:37Speaker 1: can do. And like you mentioned earlier, Sony Michelle, they
- 7:40Speaker 1: got good running back. So really, honestly, defensively, it's gonna
- 7:42Speaker 1: be up being disciplined. Right, what is your responsibility? Who
- 7:45Speaker 1: has a quarterback? If you're supposed to crash down and
- 7:47Speaker 1: tackle the running back, you tackle him. Every time. You
- 7:50Speaker 1: watched a lot of film, Nass. I like the way
- 7:51Speaker 1: you spit all that knowledge for these guys. Right now,
- 7:53Speaker 1: Nas has been watching film. He's ready to go. Gotta
- 7:56Speaker 1: get inside in the film room. Got to hey, you
- 7:58Speaker 1: got you gotta get right. You gotta get right. Um
- 8:00Speaker 1: and I what I appreciate about the New England Patriots
- 8:04Speaker 1: is that Josh McDaniels didn't say, this is how we
- 8:07Speaker 1: do it. Learn our offense. He goes, Okay, what are
- 8:09Speaker 1: you good at? What do you like to do? We're
- 8:11Speaker 1: gonna tailor this offense around you so you're successful. Therefore
- 8:15Speaker 1: this team is successful. So it's fun seeing the read
- 8:18Speaker 1: seeing the RPOs. The only thing that I'm worried about
- 8:21Speaker 1: is him getting banged up because he is going against
- 8:24Speaker 1: b Wax and kJ riding them boys, and don't forget
- 8:27Speaker 1: Jamal Adams digs like they're coming down hill to smack him.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So he's gonna see a different defense. But I appreciate
- 8:32Speaker 1: the approach of Josh McDaniels and not forcing this upon him.
- 8:36Speaker 1: So the defense has to get physical. We established that
- 8:39Speaker 1: you gotta wrap him up, and you have to be
- 8:41Speaker 1: disciplined with your eyes right, with those read options and
- 8:44Speaker 1: that d ND. That's what's gonna be crucial, that d ND.
- 8:46Speaker 1: He just has to do his job. If your job
- 8:49Speaker 1: is to sit there, be patient and make Cam wrong
- 8:51Speaker 1: as far as handing the ball off or running, just
- 8:53Speaker 1: sit there and be patient. No, don't don't don't, don't,
- 8:56Speaker 1: don't drink the kou leg, don't don't take the bit.
- 8:58Speaker 1: You just be patient and stay there, all right. The
- 9:01Speaker 1: next matchup Stefan Gilmour versus d K Tyer Lockett in
- 9:04Speaker 1: the rest of the game. Now, Gilmour was a Defensive
- 9:07Speaker 1: Player of the Year last year. He opened up the
- 9:09Speaker 1: week when a pick man on man on the receiver's hips,
- 9:13Speaker 1: intercepted the ball and had a nice little run after
- 9:15Speaker 1: the catch. This guy is dangerous. What do you see
- 9:18Speaker 1: out of Gilmore? He's just like you you touched on
- 9:20Speaker 1: a little bit. He's just a technician. He's so fundamentally
- 9:23Speaker 1: sound and the player that you're talking about. He's in
- 9:25Speaker 1: man coverage, and as a dv's in man coverage a
- 9:28Speaker 1: lot of times you're locked on the guys hip, you're
- 9:29Speaker 1: locked on the receiver. But he's able to stay discipline
- 9:32Speaker 1: in man coverage and get eyes back on the quarterback.
- 9:35Speaker 1: He gets himself in position, runs the route for the receiver,
- 9:37Speaker 1: and receiver kind of slips. He has great hands, picks
- 9:40Speaker 1: it off a little run after the catch. He's just
- 9:42Speaker 1: incredibly disciplined. And you don't get too defensive player of
- 9:45Speaker 1: the year for no reason. I mean, the man is
- 9:47Speaker 1: fifty three tackles, six picks, two touchdowns in twenty passes defended.
- 9:52Speaker 1: So that's even knowing that he's a lockdown guy and
- 9:55Speaker 1: anytime he gets tried, he's right there. So it's definitely
- 9:59Speaker 1: gonna be a huge kind of change from last week.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Not that the Falcons had a horrible defense or their
- 10:04Speaker 1: corners but they're going to get some young guys, right,
- 10:07Speaker 1: They're some younger guys and that's not gonna be the
- 10:09Speaker 1: case this year with Stefan Gilmore, the McCardy twins in
- 10:12Speaker 1: that secondary Yeph, the best part, in my opinion, what
- 10:15Speaker 1: you said was that he's such a technician that he
- 10:18Speaker 1: can play man and get eyes in the backfield. I mean,
- 10:21Speaker 1: what do you what do you tell your young dbs
- 10:22Speaker 1: when you coached at Melodolle High School? Get your eyes
- 10:25Speaker 1: out of backfield? Like you do not do that. But
- 10:27Speaker 1: when you are Stefan Gilmore and you have twenty past
- 10:30Speaker 1: breakups and rainy Defensive Player of the Year, you can
- 10:33Speaker 1: do things like that. The rest of y'all. Get your
- 10:35Speaker 1: eyes off the backfield absolutely when you're telling you, when
- 10:37Speaker 1: you're telling high school dbs, if you want to look
- 10:39Speaker 1: in the backfield, that guy's you're me watching him completing
- 10:41Speaker 1: passes on you all day long. But when you can
- 10:45Speaker 1: do it, you can do it all right. Next matchup.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Jillian Edlman versus Shaquille Griffin and Quittin Dunbar. Now. Edelman
- 10:51Speaker 1: has been one of the most consistent players in the
- 10:54Speaker 1: NFL to pass was six to eight seasons. Um, what
- 10:58Speaker 1: I like about Edelman is that he is who he is.
- 11:01Speaker 1: He's not gonna beat you over the top for big gangs.
- 11:04Speaker 1: He's not gonna catch the ball and have great run
- 11:06Speaker 1: after the catch. But what he's going to do, he's
- 11:08Speaker 1: going to work the zones. He's gonna be where he's
- 11:10Speaker 1: supposed to be, and he has for sure hands Now.
- 11:13Speaker 1: He had five receptions in Week one, and I expect
- 11:17Speaker 1: those numbers to go up as they start opening up
- 11:19Speaker 1: the past game and teams are biting down on the runs.
- 11:22Speaker 1: This guy's gonna get the ball. He had one hundred catches,
- 11:25Speaker 1: eleven hundred yards, seventeen one hundred, eleven hundred and seventeen
- 11:29Speaker 1: yards and six touchdowns with Tom Brady. Do you expect
- 11:31Speaker 1: his numbers to dip a little bit, to have to
- 11:33Speaker 1: dip a bit just because of the offense that he's
- 11:35Speaker 1: in this year, right, Yeah, I think they're gonna come
- 11:36Speaker 1: down just by just nature of the position and how
- 11:40Speaker 1: Cam Newton's gonna run the ball out more. They're gonna
- 11:42Speaker 1: be a lot more run focused. So I feel it
- 11:43Speaker 1: it's almost kind of like Doug Baldwin in the sense,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and what I mean by that is Doug could have
- 11:48Speaker 1: put up stupid numbers. If he played in different system
- 11:52Speaker 1: all these years, he would have been getting fifteen hundred yards,
- 11:54Speaker 1: he would be getting ten touchdowns. He didn't do as
- 11:56Speaker 1: much as that because we were run the first team,
- 11:58Speaker 1: so he'd made the most of he could do. And
- 12:00Speaker 1: I think Julian's gonna do that. Like you mentioned, he's
- 12:02Speaker 1: not gonna kill you deep, He's not gonna do anything crazy.
- 12:04Speaker 1: But the man just finds a way to get open.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I mean, if you look, he's about to become the
- 12:07Speaker 1: second Patriot all time to have six hundred receptions with
- 12:10Speaker 1: that team. He's caught a ball in eighty straight eighty
- 12:13Speaker 1: seventy straight games. Man, that's a lot of years. So
- 12:16Speaker 1: the dude is efficient. He's gonna make plays. So I
- 12:20Speaker 1: mean he's definitely something they got to look out for.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And as you mentioned, all the zone read option, the
- 12:24Speaker 1: RPOs are gonna open some things up. There's gonna be
- 12:28Speaker 1: some windows that are gonna be the Seahawk secondaries don't
- 12:30Speaker 1: definitely need to pay attention to. Yeah, they do, And
- 12:33Speaker 1: I think this is gonna be more of a challenge
- 12:35Speaker 1: for Marky's Blair because most of the time Julian is
- 12:39Speaker 1: gonna be in the slot. They do play him outside
- 12:41Speaker 1: a bit, but this is gonna be a good test
- 12:43Speaker 1: for him. Now, Marky's Blair had a good week last week.
- 12:45Speaker 1: First time started at Nicol was on the receiver's hip
- 12:48Speaker 1: at all times. Now this is a different challenge. Is
- 12:50Speaker 1: this a different type of receiver? You know, he's he's
- 12:53Speaker 1: a veteran, He's got some tricks up his sleeves. So
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm interested to see how Marquis Blair plays with this opportunity.
- 13:00Speaker 1: All Right, the last matchup, we're gonna look at good
- 13:02Speaker 1: old Ken Norton Junior versus Josh McDaniels DC versus O
- 13:07Speaker 1: C that you feel like the scheme hasn't changed a
- 13:11Speaker 1: bit on defense for the Hawks, but the aggressiveness is there,
- 13:15Speaker 1: like they're still using the same scheme. They just tweaked
- 13:17Speaker 1: it up a little bit. On the other hand, you
- 13:19Speaker 1: have it looks like a completely different offense with Josh McDaniels.
- 13:23Speaker 1: But let's remind the folks that he did coach Tim Tebow,
- 13:27Speaker 1: who was sort of the same type of quarterback that
- 13:29Speaker 1: Cam Newton was and had success. So this isn't his
- 13:32Speaker 1: first time kind of doing something like this, but it's
- 13:35Speaker 1: a clash of the Titans'. Is the Revamp defense or
- 13:38Speaker 1: the Revamp offense going to be superior this week? Yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 1: it's definitely gonna be a definitely a chess match between
- 13:44Speaker 1: the two, especially because a point I wanted to make
- 13:46Speaker 1: is we felt we talked about this in the postgame show.
- 13:49Speaker 1: We felt like Atlanta did not do enough to account
- 13:52Speaker 1: for Jamal Adams. It almost kind of felt like he
- 13:55Speaker 1: was the other safety, you know, in a run scheme
- 13:57Speaker 1: sometimes you're like, Okay, well, we're not gonna count for
- 13:59Speaker 1: that safety. We're gonna block these guys, and our guy's
- 14:01Speaker 1: gonna make him miss one on one. I didn't feel
- 14:03Speaker 1: like they counted for him enough, and he was an
- 14:05Speaker 1: absolute nightmare all game last week. So it'd be really
- 14:07Speaker 1: interesting to see how Josh McDaniels accounts for Jamal Adams,
- 14:11Speaker 1: especially if how many times we bought pressure last week
- 14:14Speaker 1: and how many times Jamal Adams specifically came down in
- 14:16Speaker 1: the box and was coming right off that edge. So
- 14:18Speaker 1: it'll be really interesting to see how they defend him.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And then on the other side, for Ken Norton, we
- 14:24Speaker 1: know that the Patriots came out and ran the crap
- 14:26Speaker 1: out of the ball last week. That does not mean
- 14:28Speaker 1: they're going to do that this week, right, you know,
- 14:30Speaker 1: it's always I feel like you can be kind of
- 14:32Speaker 1: vanilla in week one, especially offensively, So I would look
- 14:35Speaker 1: for McDaniels to pull a lot of stuff out out
- 14:37Speaker 1: of the sleeve to try to exploit kind of what
- 14:39Speaker 1: we do. But I think the back and forth is
- 14:40Speaker 1: gonna be fun, and I think McDaniels is going to
- 14:43Speaker 1: force the Hawks to stay in that base. I think
- 14:45Speaker 1: he wants them in that base, and that's where he
- 14:48Speaker 1: can exploit those play acts and those RPOs. Because you
- 14:52Speaker 1: see it being set up. It's like, there's no way
- 14:54Speaker 1: they're gonna run camp fifteen times every week. There's no way,
- 14:56Speaker 1: unless if they won him here at the end of
- 14:58Speaker 1: the season. There's no way. Every week you gotta show
- 15:01Speaker 1: something different. That's why I believe as the season goes along,
- 15:04Speaker 1: we're gonna see cam and spread three by two, two
- 15:08Speaker 1: by two sets and then really throwing it and just
- 15:10Speaker 1: adding to his game. So yeah, I'm excited to see it. Man,
- 15:13Speaker 1: it's gonna be a different game for sure. It's not
- 15:15Speaker 1: gonna look like it did last week. I don't think
- 15:17Speaker 1: it's gonna be a high scoring game. I think it's
- 15:18Speaker 1: gonna be a traditional twenty four twenty one, you know
- 15:21Speaker 1: type game. So I'm excited to see what happens there.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Coming up to the Pacific Northwest twelves, you're not gonna
- 15:28Speaker 1: be there, but they're gonna be home, and they'll be
- 15:31Speaker 1: cheering loud for him at home. Definitely be there in spirit.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And it's the first time now New England is having
- 15:35Speaker 1: to travel and everything is different with COVID. They got
- 15:38Speaker 1: to come to the West coast. It's not an early game,
- 15:40Speaker 1: so that I'll kind of help out with that, but no,
- 15:41Speaker 1: it'll be definitely interesting to see what they do. And honestly,
- 15:44Speaker 1: when you talk about with football after your first game,
- 15:48Speaker 1: because like when you're preparing for the first game, you
- 15:49Speaker 1: really don't know what you're gonna see. I mean, I
- 15:51Speaker 1: feel like you practice all training camp for that first series.
- 15:55Speaker 1: After that first series happened the first three plays, everything's
- 15:57Speaker 1: out the window. You're just playing ball. Now there's actually
- 16:00Speaker 1: a game of game film and like you said, it's
- 16:02Speaker 1: a chess mask. I know you in your first game.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Let's put all of this on film. So now guys
- 16:07Speaker 1: are thinking, Okay, Cam's gonna run it, Cam's gonna run it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I start going and you lose eye discipline and before
- 16:11Speaker 1: you know that, they're going over the top. So it'll
- 16:13Speaker 1: be fun to see for sure, Sunday Night football, baby,
- 16:16Speaker 1: And that's why. And that's also why I think the
- 16:18Speaker 1: Hawks are gonna come out and they're not. Everyone's super
- 16:20Speaker 1: juice about Russell Gore and Thorny run thirty one for
- 16:23Speaker 1: thirty five. I get it. It's awesome, but it's like, okay,
- 16:25Speaker 1: now that's on film. What do you think the william
- 16:27Speaker 1: is gonna try to take away? How do you count that?
- 16:29Speaker 1: You gotta run the football? So it's we two, man.
- 16:32Speaker 1: We two might be the most fun week for analysts
- 16:35Speaker 1: like us because we're like, okay, who are they for real?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Like is this really who they are? Is the circumstances, man,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I'm excited Sunday Night football. You said it. Let's go man,
- 16:43Speaker 1: Let's go on, baby, Let's get it. Path to victory.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Cam Newton cannot go crazy on the ground. If this
- 16:50Speaker 1: dude rushed for one hundred yards near one hundred yards
- 16:52Speaker 1: and then you got Sony back there. If he goes
- 16:54Speaker 1: for six year eighty. That's gonna be trouble for the
- 16:57Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks. I think that you can control a team
- 17:01Speaker 1: more that wants to throw the ball fifty times because
- 17:03Speaker 1: there's more room for error. Right, there's no way you're
- 17:05Speaker 1: going to complete eighty percent of your passes. But running
- 17:08Speaker 1: the rock and you got options in the backfield, you
- 17:10Speaker 1: can grind the team down so they can't let Caming
- 17:12Speaker 1: those boys go nuts on the ground. Absolutely not. And
- 17:15Speaker 1: also just goes back to time possession. I think that
- 17:17Speaker 1: was a big thing in New England's first victory. They
- 17:19Speaker 1: think they had thirty four minutes time possession to only
- 17:21Speaker 1: Miami's twenty five. So if you can't stop the run,
- 17:23Speaker 1: your defense is on the field for a long time
- 17:25Speaker 1: and number three doesn't have the ball in his hands,
- 17:27Speaker 1: which you never want. They never want that. Another path
- 17:30Speaker 1: to very three Chris Carson has to get gone. Russ
- 17:33Speaker 1: did his thing on Sunday. It's nice that he has
- 17:36Speaker 1: that in his bag that they can come out the
- 17:39Speaker 1: very first play and try to take a shot and
- 17:41Speaker 1: keep that thing going. But end of the day, this
- 17:43Speaker 1: is football, and if you can control the ground, you
- 17:46Speaker 1: can control the game. Chris Carson was still a factor
- 17:48Speaker 1: in the game last week, still had two receiving touchdowns,
- 17:51Speaker 1: caught a couple of screens. Looked nice, But that's not
- 17:54Speaker 1: why they're paying them. They're paying him to running between
- 17:56Speaker 1: the tackles and deliver blows and to set the temple early.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Do you expect them to feature him more this week? Oh? Absolutely,
- 18:03Speaker 1: I think as much as it annoys certain Seahawks fans
- 18:06Speaker 1: and certain Seahawks twitter I won't be surprised if we
- 18:09Speaker 1: see a lot of drive charts that go run, run, pass,
- 18:13Speaker 1: especially early on, just to get Chris involved. I think
- 18:15Speaker 1: Chris needs I think he needs about fifteen carries, and
- 18:18Speaker 1: I think he makes it in Carloside seven or eight,
- 18:20Speaker 1: just so we can establish a run and get the
- 18:22Speaker 1: guys up front comfortable in the run game. And I
- 18:25Speaker 1: think that'll just opens up up for Russell, DK Tyler,
- 18:28Speaker 1: Greg Olsen and the rest of the game. Yep, another
- 18:31Speaker 1: path to victory. Keep Jamal Adams active, now you mentioned it.
- 18:35Speaker 1: They're gonna account for this dude. They're not just gonna
- 18:37Speaker 1: let him fly off that back edge every play he
- 18:39Speaker 1: walks up and let him just get loose. That have
- 18:42Speaker 1: to account for him, so how do you counter that?
- 18:44Speaker 1: You move him around? There was a heat chart on
- 18:46Speaker 1: chart on Twitter that I saw a Jamal Adams pre snap.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Now they were moving him around, put him in different spots.
- 18:52Speaker 1: But you feel like they need to do more of that. Yeah, No,
- 18:54Speaker 1: I think they He needs to be everywhere. He needs
- 18:55Speaker 1: to be in the boxing, need to be walked up,
- 18:57Speaker 1: he needs to be at a deep safety. You need
- 18:59Speaker 1: to run some cloud, some sky stuff, or he's showing
- 19:01Speaker 1: different looks and then coming down, especially with that explosiveness.
- 19:04Speaker 1: So I think you just need to keep moving around
- 19:06Speaker 1: and just make it harder for guys who account for
- 19:08Speaker 1: him because you never know where he's gonna be on
- 19:10Speaker 1: the field. Right last when we got here, nas to
- 19:13Speaker 1: start fast to put pressure on them, show up and
- 19:16Speaker 1: show out in prime time. We all know what the
- 19:18Speaker 1: Hawks doing prime time. Man. You know they put on
- 19:21Speaker 1: their their Sunday's best. They're out there sharp, looking fresh,
- 19:25Speaker 1: and something about this organization. They get up for these
- 19:27Speaker 1: big games. Big credit to Pete Carroll. He's playing in
- 19:30Speaker 1: so many big games or a coach and so many
- 19:31Speaker 1: big games in his career. They have to feed off
- 19:34Speaker 1: of him, and it's I know the twelves aren't gonna
- 19:37Speaker 1: be there, But the Hawks found away to get themselves
- 19:40Speaker 1: going for that Atlanta game that very first series. You
- 19:43Speaker 1: felt it. It It just felt something was different about that
- 19:45Speaker 1: football team as far as the energy and the speed
- 19:47Speaker 1: that they play with. They gotta get going at home
- 19:49Speaker 1: on Sunday, Yes, sir, something about energy and being together
- 19:52Speaker 1: with the guys. It's all about you. There's no one
- 19:54Speaker 1: in the stands, there's no one to get feed off of,
- 19:56Speaker 1: to get hyped off. It's just them and starts with
- 19:58Speaker 1: the players. So he look for a number three, thirty three,
- 20:00Speaker 1: fifty four. Those guys get the boys hyped in, ready
- 20:03Speaker 1: to go, and they're definitely not going to disappoint in
- 20:05Speaker 1: prime time. They're not going to disappoint. You heard there
- 20:08Speaker 1: from Nason Choby a Michael Bump as this is Hot
- 20:11Speaker 1: Talk Preview edition Week two. The Pats are coming up
- 20:15Speaker 1: to the Northwest Sunday night football. Get your popcorn. We'll
- 20:18Speaker 1: see y'all a minute
