- 1:21Speaker 1: up a couple of trips there we've, taken, well, no
- 1:26Speaker 1: one trip that we've taken over the, years and then
- 1:28Speaker 1: one remarkable story that we're bringing back because it's too
- 1:36Speaker 1: good not to talk. About an astonishing survey was made
- 1:42Speaker 1: after a wildlife camera spotted a fissure roaming Through Cleveland
- 1:48Speaker 1: Metro parks not a, fisherman its first appearance In Cayuga
- 1:52Speaker 1: county for over a. Century the park's trail camera captured
- 1:56Speaker 1: the footage earlier this, year marking it as the first
- 1:59Speaker 1: confirmed sighting of the species in the county since the eighteen.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Hundreds the native mammal to the state typically dwells in
- 2:09Speaker 1: the northern parts Of. Ohio park officials described the discovery
- 2:14Speaker 1: as tremendously, exciting as the fisher's return emphasizes the impact
- 2:19Speaker 1: and importance of long term conservation and habitat restoration throughout the, forest,
- 2:25Speaker 1: wetlands and. Waterways this happens to be a significant discovery
- 2:32Speaker 1: As Cleveland Metro parks. Said The Ohio department Of Natural
- 2:35Speaker 1: resources lists fishers as a species of special, interest pointing
- 2:40Speaker 1: out they disappeared from most of the state by the
- 2:43Speaker 1: mid nineteenth century due to habitat loss and unregulated. TRAFFIC
- 2:50Speaker 1: i don't, know looks a little like marmot slash beaver slash. Weasel,
- 3:00Speaker 1: yeah you can pull up. It you can pull up a.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Picture i'll let you describe. IT A british man in
- 3:06Speaker 1: The philippines unknowingly handled one of the deadliest animals in
- 3:13Speaker 1: the world this. Week anny McConnell was vacationing in The
- 3:19Speaker 1: philippines when he stumbled across a blue ringed octopus while
- 3:24Speaker 1: he was. Swimming the name comes from the creatures indistinguishable blue.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Markings these markings are certainly very beautiful and striking to look. At,
- 3:35Speaker 1: however they are only displayed when the octopus is about
- 3:40Speaker 1: to dispense its deadly, poison according to a statement from
- 3:46Speaker 1: experts at The Australian institute Of Marine. Science in the,
- 3:50Speaker 1: video the man films himself holding the, octopus quickly grabbing
- 3:57Speaker 1: it when it tries to. Swia said, McConnell i've never
- 4:03Speaker 1: seen it. Before, thankfully the octopus was in a good
- 4:08Speaker 1: enough mood not to release its deadly. Toxins within its
- 4:13Speaker 1: salivary glands live, bacteria which produces a chemical, tetrodotoxin strong
- 4:21Speaker 1: fast acting acting toxin that paralyzes the target by blocking nerve.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Transmission many people have come close to dying from the.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Toxin the paralysis from the octopus overcomes only voluntary, muscles
- 4:40Speaker 1: leaving you completely conscious as you lose.
- 4:43Speaker 9: Mobility this sounds so.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Pleasant according to some reports from The National library Of,
- 4:50Speaker 1: medicine experts consider this toxin to be a thousand times
- 4:56Speaker 1: more deadly to humans than. Cyani the man escaped a
- 5:03Speaker 1: near death situation without knowing, it AND i love this.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Warning if you ever see a blue ringed octopus while
- 5:15Speaker 1: swimming in the, ocean the best advice would be to avoid.
- 5:21Speaker 1: IT i hope that you take that under. Consideration that's
- 5:28Speaker 1: our lesson for the. Day by the, way our animals
- 5:33Speaker 1: attack segment is brought to you each week By Shilty
- 5:36Speaker 1: Roofing home of The Bulletproof Roof.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Guarantee it was after a hailstorm a few years.
- 5:41Speaker 10: BACK i needed a new. Roof, YEAH i shopped around
- 5:44Speaker 10: and THEN i Found shorlty roofing in. Point i'm GLAD i.
- 5:47Speaker 10: Did the folks At shulty guided me every step of the.
- 5:49Speaker 10: Way they showed me my. Options they told me what
- 5:52Speaker 10: my out of pocket cost would be after. Insurance they
- 5:55Speaker 10: took the complication out of an otherwise very stressful. Situation
- 5:58Speaker 10: they took off the damage, roof put on the new,
- 6:00Speaker 10: roof did all the clean, up AND i had my
- 6:02Speaker 10: new roof in one.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Day behold by the.
- 6:07Speaker 1: BROOF a screaming deer broke into A christmas store In

- 6:46Speaker 1: Equipped once, inside he took a grand, tour sniffed the,
- 6:49Speaker 1: ornaments inspected the garland, side eyed a, nutcracker and galloped
- 6:54Speaker 1: around like he was trying to remember where he parked the.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Sleigh the department joked that the deer needed to quote
- 7:00Speaker 1: lay off the eggnog and was clearly three SIPs too
- 7:03Speaker 1: deep into the holiday spirits and making terrible life. Choices
- 7:10Speaker 1: video shows police officers. Responding it's about sixty miles north Of,
- 7:16Speaker 1: Asheville North. Carolina the deer runs around them struggles to
- 7:20Speaker 1: get its footing on the hardwood. Floor police had hoped
- 7:23Speaker 1: it would go right out the front, door but instead
- 7:26Speaker 1: he got stuck in a.
- 7:27Speaker 9: Chair the deer can be heard screaming as.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Officers escorted it out by its hind. Legs Officer Adam

- 7:55Speaker 9: Store and, this for my, money is our animal story
- 8:05Speaker 9: of the.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Year we talked about this when had happened a few
- 8:07Speaker 1: weeks ago In. Virginia it's just in my mind. Outstanding
- 8:19Speaker 1: it's the drunk raccoon that broke into a liquor store In,
- 8:24Speaker 1: VIRGINIA a serial offender who has broke into at least three.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Buildings this is not the first time he's been in
- 8:35Speaker 1: one of the, buildings Said animal protection Officer Samantha. Martin
- 8:40Speaker 1: this is the third break in he's. Had he was
- 8:43Speaker 1: in a karate. STUDIO i think he got into THE
- 8:46Speaker 1: dmv and ate some of their. Snacks the drunk as
- 8:52Speaker 1: a skunk fur, ball spent the night sobering. Up was
- 8:56Speaker 1: released near the, store where he left a trail of
- 9:01Speaker 1: broken whiskey and gin. Bottles we don't relocate, him Said,
- 9:07Speaker 1: martin because that's a death sentence for. Raccoons, well what's the?
- 9:11Speaker 1: Issue but somehow he knows how to get back in the.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Building he's a smart little. Critter the picture of the
- 9:22Speaker 1: passed out raccoon right near the toilet in the bathroom went.

- 9:53Speaker 1: it to the, toilet passed out.
- 10:01Speaker 11: And then.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Released SO i don't.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Know now we have a alcoholic raccoon on our, HANDS
- 10:09Speaker 1: i guess, So but go look at the. Picture again
- 10:13Speaker 1: in my mind it is The Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition
- 10:21Speaker 1: Animal story of The. Year we're on The Clark Eisenhower

- 10:51Speaker 1: SIR i know you came from the oil.
- 10:53Speaker 12: Business so how did all of that kind of come?
- 10:56Speaker 13: Together, WELL i was on it Was Neuer, rotations and
- 11:00Speaker 13: so fishing has always been a passion of mine and
- 11:05Speaker 13: found out early, long you, know twenty years, AGO i
- 11:09Speaker 13: could make money doing it on the side and it
- 11:12Speaker 13: so it was a part time. Deal and then when
- 11:16Speaker 13: we came To homer AND i just we bought a
- 11:24Speaker 13: lodge on you, know we just it was kind of a,
- 11:26Speaker 13: honestly it was just kind of a.
- 11:27Speaker 11: Dream. Yeah so we said.
- 11:32Speaker 13: To be a to be a guide in this. Area
- 11:34Speaker 13: the locals In Homa. Louisiana you don't get much local.
- 11:38Speaker 13: Business ninety five plus percent of my customers are from
- 11:41Speaker 13: out of. State, actually so it's difficult to survive as
- 11:46Speaker 13: a guide down here in this area without having a.
- 11:49Speaker 11: Lodge so that's when we invested into the.
- 11:51Speaker 13: Lodge and then and THEN covid hit AND i couldn't
- 11:55Speaker 13: travel out of country and the business just blew. Up
- 12:00Speaker 13: and then when we were able to start traveling, AGAIN
- 12:03Speaker 13: i was, like, well you, KNOW i got all these
- 12:05Speaker 13: trips AND i had to make a. Decision and that's
- 12:08Speaker 13: when we decided to retire and pursue it full.
- 12:10Speaker 12: Time why AM i flying To egypt WHEN i could
- 12:13Speaker 12: stay at.
- 12:13Speaker 13: Home absolutely, correct be at the family and and uh
- 12:17Speaker 13: and then do, something, uh something That i'm very passionate.
- 12:20Speaker 1: About, yeah but you have to be. Passionate we've talked about. This,
- 12:23Speaker 1: uh this is being a. Guide you don't get to
- 12:27Speaker 1: fish very. Much that's.
- 12:29Speaker 13: True, uh it's, uh it's gone from from a passion
- 12:33Speaker 13: to work for.
- 12:34Speaker 11: Sure.
- 12:35Speaker 12: Uh is that ruined things for?
- 12:37Speaker 11: You not at?
- 12:37Speaker 13: All? Actually, Uh my my my basic, EDUCATION i was a,
- 12:43Speaker 13: teacher an, educator and So god and is kind of
- 12:46Speaker 13: like educating you, KNOW i mean Only i'm dealing with
- 12:50Speaker 13: adults most of the, time and.
- 12:52Speaker 12: Uh which most of the times worse to deal with Kid.
- 12:54Speaker 13: Uh, yeah probably so, yeah but uh uh but but,
- 13:00Speaker 13: anyway so better leave it at.
- 13:02Speaker 11: That but but, yeah, no it's it's. Been it is.
- 13:05Speaker 13: Work but BUT i still enjoy. It i'm very, still
- 13:08Speaker 13: very passionate about. It the downside to it is so
- 13:14Speaker 13: my wife loves to.
- 13:15Speaker 11: Fish and you don't get to. Go she doesn't get
- 13:18Speaker 11: to go very often, anymore you. Know, so but, yeah
- 13:22Speaker 11: so that's.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Good first of, all we're here because you donated a
- 13:27Speaker 1: trip to The Brass valley C. A so thank you very.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Much we bought that trip for. YOU i know that
- 13:33Speaker 1: you deal with a lot of c c a's all, over.
- 13:36Speaker 11: Do you, Not, YES i. Do it is a great.
- 13:39Speaker 13: Organization they they do a lot of great things for you,
- 13:44Speaker 13: know for all the states along The gulf. Coast Uh
- 13:47Speaker 13: AND i do support them In texas And louisiana and
- 13:50Speaker 13: uh you know those only two that have approached.
- 13:53Speaker 11: Me Uh, so.
- 13:56Speaker 13: Huge supporter of. THEM i appreciate you buying a. TRIP
- 13:58Speaker 13: i appreciate your donation to, them and it all goes
- 14:01Speaker 13: to a great.
- 14:02Speaker 11: Cause and, uh you. KNOW i.
- 14:03Speaker 13: THINK i think the more that we can contribute to
- 14:07Speaker 13: organizations LIKE cca that got the lobby empower to get stuff,
- 14:11Speaker 13: done pass the laws, help you. KNOW i, mean look
- 14:15Speaker 13: due to the freeze and everything down In texas and
- 14:17Speaker 13: what they've done to support. That, yeah, uh it's a
- 14:20Speaker 13: big deal and and it all goes to a great.
- 14:22Speaker 1: CAUSE i got to tell, YOU i think we're catching
- 14:25Speaker 1: redfish today because of WHAT cca lobby did to make
- 14:30Speaker 1: redfish a.
- 14:31Speaker 12: Sport fish and not a commercial.
- 14:33Speaker 13: FISH i couldn't agree more one hundred percent that is,
- 14:37Speaker 13: correct and and it's, uh and they they, well, yeah
- 14:44Speaker 13: they need. To they need to lobby a little harder
- 14:47Speaker 13: In louisiana and change some of the laws we got,
- 14:49Speaker 13: here like bowfishing and. Stuff i'm opposed to. THAT i
- 14:53Speaker 13: know it's a huge it's a huge, business and but
- 14:55Speaker 13: it's legal In louisiana and there's guys that do.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It BUT I i couldn't believe that you told me.
- 15:01Speaker 1: THAT i, go, no you you're that's that can't be.
- 15:04Speaker 1: True bowfishing is for rough, Fish it's for carp and
- 15:07Speaker 1: gar and. Stuff they are shooting redfish at night with
- 15:12Speaker 1: bow and.
- 15:13Speaker 12: Arrows correct and it's legal.
- 15:15Speaker 11: With lights and it's. Legal.
- 15:16Speaker 13: Yeah so, anyway And i'm not we need to stop. That,
- 15:21Speaker 13: yeah well we do. NEED i believe it needs to be.
- 15:23Speaker 13: Stopped and you talk to a lot of the other,
- 15:25Speaker 13: gods but you know there are. Gods that's all they,
- 15:28Speaker 13: do and that's all they specialize, in and they're gonna argue,
- 15:30Speaker 13: it and they're gonna defend, it and and it's not
- 15:33Speaker 13: my AND i don't want to be in the middle of. That,
- 15:36Speaker 13: sure but you, KNOW i mean it needs to be.
- 15:40Speaker 13: Reviewed let's just say that it needs to be.
- 15:41Speaker 12: REVIEWED i was really surprised by.
- 15:45Speaker 1: That i'm surprised by the quality of redfish that we're catching.
- 15:51Speaker 1: HERE i, mean you, say you don't really catch many
- 15:56Speaker 1: fish under the under this slot.
- 15:59Speaker 13: Limit, yeah are slot limit here In louisiana is sixteen
- 16:02Speaker 13: to twenty seven and you get five per person per,
- 16:05Speaker 13: day and one of those five per person could be
- 16:08Speaker 13: over twenty. Seven AND i probably do not catch IF
- 16:16Speaker 13: i catch six redfish a year under twenty.
- 16:19Speaker 11: Seven it's under. Sixteen, yeah excuse, me under sixteen, Correct.
- 16:28Speaker 13: Although yesterday CHARTER i had yesterday day before y'all, arrived
- 16:33Speaker 13: a guy caught.
- 16:34Speaker 11: One it was about six.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Inches, Well i'm glad to see. THAT i ask, YOU i,
- 16:39Speaker 1: go where are all these small? Fish BECAUSE i know
- 16:42Speaker 1: WHEN i fish In texas quite a. Bit it's twenty
- 16:46Speaker 1: to twenty eight and there are a lot AND i
- 16:50Speaker 1: mean a lot of eighteen and nineteen inch inch.
- 16:53Speaker 13: Fish, yeah, Correct and so there's a lot of. Studies
- 16:57Speaker 13: So louisiana has it's called Tag. Louisiana you go online
- 17:02Speaker 13: read about.
- 17:03Speaker 11: IT i used to tag for. Him i've actually, tagged not.
- 17:07Speaker 13: Harvested and not, chartering but literally just tagged twelve hundred
- 17:12Speaker 13: and fifty in one.
- 17:13Speaker 12: Year and you know how many of those showed back?
- 17:17Speaker 13: Up i've got SO i get a record of every
- 17:20Speaker 13: time one shows. Up and out of that twelve hundred
- 17:22Speaker 13: and fifty that one, YEAR i THINK i had around
- 17:26Speaker 13: sixty to seventy of them that reached not, backs that's,
- 17:28Speaker 13: correct and so it's kind of an in depth. Process
- 17:33Speaker 13: but you know, what the data shows that those fish
- 17:37Speaker 13: don't the smaller fish under twenty seven, inches they don't
- 17:43Speaker 13: move a lot right right right, now you get over
- 17:46Speaker 13: And i've got all the, statistics AND i could have
- 17:50Speaker 13: looked it up if i'd.
- 17:50Speaker 11: Have they're going to. Spawn i'm.
- 17:52Speaker 13: Guessing, yes they're the females of the big, bulls and
- 17:55Speaker 13: they go. Offshore so the ones That i've tagged over
- 17:59Speaker 13: twenty SEVEN i, say over thirty, inches very, FEW i
- 18:03Speaker 13: think only one of. Those AND i can't tell you
- 18:06Speaker 13: off the top of my head right now how many
- 18:08Speaker 13: of THOSE i. Tagged BUT i can only tell you
- 18:10Speaker 13: That i've only had one or maybe two over thirty inches.
- 18:14Speaker 12: That have ever been recaptured because they don't come. Back
- 18:17Speaker 12: apparently they stay in the, gulf right.
- 18:20Speaker 11: They, move they move. Offshore, yes that's. Correct they're off.
- 18:23Speaker 13: Shore and so your males or your younger, fish your smaller,
- 18:26Speaker 13: fish and they're the ones that are in shore and
- 18:29Speaker 13: they they kind of they're. There they don't, move they
- 18:35Speaker 13: don't they don't travel. Right one literally. Caught i've literally
- 18:39Speaker 13: caught thirty to forty five days within anywhere from five
- 18:45Speaker 13: feet to fifteen.
- 18:46Speaker 11: Yards i've caught three or four of.
- 18:49Speaker 12: My own tagish That i've tagged.
- 18:52Speaker 13: Within anywhere from five foot to fifteen yards of WHERE
- 18:54Speaker 13: i tagged.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Them you, KNOW i just came from trout fishing in
- 18:57Speaker 1: the mountains and they're a lot like that.
- 18:59Speaker 12: Too they're they're.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Territorial they're gonna they're gonna stay put unless some spectacular
- 19:05Speaker 1: event moves them.
- 19:06Speaker 13: Exactly and usually it has to do with either weather and,
- 19:10Speaker 13: temperature or it has to do with pressure from, fishermen
- 19:13Speaker 13: or it has to do with the baits moved.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Out you guys had a huge storm about nine months.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Ago we could still see the results of it all
- 19:21Speaker 1: all over the. Place you're having to rebuild your entire,
- 19:24Speaker 1: lodge which we'll we'll talk. About AND i ask you
- 19:29Speaker 1: how you thought that storm affected or had.
- 19:32Speaker 12: Any effect on the.
- 19:33Speaker 13: Fishing, well this particular Storm, Ida Hurricane, ida this particular,
- 19:39Speaker 13: STORM i don't believe has had a major impact on
- 19:43Speaker 13: the fishing here in my area and the and and
- 19:46Speaker 13: the reason why is because we did not receive the
- 19:50Speaker 13: storm surge that they received down In fushon And venice
- 19:55Speaker 13: and and uh Grand isle and so. Forth we were
- 19:59Speaker 13: on the on the clear inside of the, storm so
- 20:01Speaker 13: we had primarily north. Winds we didn't have a lot
- 20:04Speaker 13: of storm serves that tore up our. Marsh now you
- 20:07Speaker 13: go back a year or two with some other storms
- 20:09Speaker 13: where we were on the dirty, side and it's, yes
- 20:14Speaker 13: it's it's dramatically impacted our.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Fishing one of the reasons that got my attention when
- 20:21Speaker 1: we're bidding on your trip is you said artificials, only
- 20:26Speaker 1: which that's HOW i love to. FISH i was talking
- 20:30Speaker 1: to you. Earlier it's, like, Look i'm not going to
- 20:33Speaker 1: anchor and throw dead bait on the.
- 20:34Speaker 11: BOTTOM i can't do. That this is.
- 20:37Speaker 12: HOW i like to.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Fish you're very unique in the fact that today we
- 20:42Speaker 1: exclusively threw spoons special, spoons, right.
- 20:47Speaker 11: Special, spoons not jo daddy.
- 20:50Speaker 12: SPOON i chowed daddy spoons made In Corpus.
- 20:53Speaker 11: Corpus, christie Tex is not so daddy.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Spoons and you found those because you fish some in redfish.
- 20:59Speaker 13: Tournaments, yes a couple buddies of mine that THAT i
- 21:03Speaker 13: fished tournaments with turned me on of those a couple
- 21:05Speaker 13: of years, ago And.
- 21:07Speaker 11: I've, actually, uh it's my go to it's one of
- 21:11Speaker 11: my go to baits.
- 21:12Speaker 13: Now in, fact my tournament partner from Uh Port Port, Arthur,
- 21:17Speaker 13: texas he.
- 21:18Speaker 11: It's now his go to. Bait.
- 21:19Speaker 13: Too, nice but, uh it's it's it's it's it's, deadly
- 21:23Speaker 13: not your.
- 21:24Speaker 12: Daddy's, well we saw them work.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Today it's especially important because they have weed. Guards they're weedless.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Spoons we're throwing in. Grass you've got other things growing
- 21:37Speaker 1: this time of year in the, bay which was very
- 21:39Speaker 1: unusual for me to see.
- 21:41Speaker 13: The roseau the, cane we call it Rose oh, uh
- 21:45Speaker 13: it's it's, thick it's very.
- 21:46Speaker 11: Thick.
- 21:47Speaker 13: Uh the, lilies you, know we this time of year
- 21:52Speaker 13: Around South louisiana we get lily so, uh it's a.
- 21:56Speaker 11: Hotel. Look fish coming From port.
- 21:58Speaker 13: O'Connor fishing everywhere From Port Ransis Port, mansfield Actually Port
- 22:08Speaker 13: mansfield To East Managorda bay is WHAT i used to
- 22:11Speaker 13: fish twenty years, ago and then WHEN i moved here
- 22:15Speaker 13: about fifteen ten to fifteen years. Ago the fishery is.
- 22:20Speaker 13: Is it's incredible here for, redfish and it's totally different From.
- 22:26Speaker 13: Texas you, know you cannot experience this type of fishery.
- 22:30Speaker 1: In, Texas, no you absolutely. Cannot it is very. UNIQUE
- 22:36Speaker 1: a lot Of louisiana is very unique in that. Regard
- 22:41Speaker 1: it just seems to produce a lot of redfish and
- 22:45Speaker 1: as we, mentioned a lot of really solid. Redfish you
- 22:50Speaker 1: told me that most of the guides around here are trout.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Fishermen at this time of, year they're going out to
- 22:57Speaker 1: The gulf from.
- 22:58Speaker 13: Here, yes they're running out to the. Gulf they're chasing
- 23:02Speaker 13: trout and look hats off to. Them they're going out,
- 23:05Speaker 13: there and you know it doesn't take them long to.
- 23:08Speaker 13: Catch you, know a twenty trout levon here is twenty
- 23:12Speaker 13: five per, person and they'll go out there at three
- 23:15Speaker 13: to four people in their boat and they'll come back
- 23:16Speaker 13: with anywhere from sudi five to a hunter trout by
- 23:19Speaker 13: eight nine o'clock in the, morning catching.
- 23:21Speaker 11: Them two at a time on double drop.
- 23:22Speaker 13: RIGS i, mean but it's not the same trout that
- 23:26Speaker 13: you're catching In Eastbounta Gorda bay or you know WHAT i.
- 23:29Speaker 12: Mean generally, speaking they're a little, smaller.
- 23:32Speaker 11: Little they're they're a lot, smaller, yes, sir the trouts.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Smaller the redfish are. Bigger and Then i'm telling you
- 23:39Speaker 1: this guy is serious about his red. Fishing so we
- 23:42Speaker 1: started with. Spoons you have a couple of other ways
- 23:46Speaker 1: that you will use to catch.
- 23:48Speaker 13: Redfish correct the only WAY i fish them, either it's
- 23:52Speaker 13: either going to be a, spoon it's going to be
- 23:54Speaker 13: a spinner, bait WHICH i make. Myself and IT'S i
- 23:58Speaker 13: guess the closest thing to that that you can buy
- 24:00Speaker 13: on the.
- 24:00Speaker 11: Market be a redfish magic by strike king and then
- 24:03Speaker 11: the only you.
- 24:04Speaker 13: Know, well Then i'll use a weedless hook at, time
- 24:08Speaker 13: a trout. Killer, yeah with a trout killer and, uh
- 24:11Speaker 13: and then and then if if, if, if if worse
- 24:15Speaker 13: comes to worse AND i have, To i'll throw her
- 24:18Speaker 13: on a bobber and a damn Gold BUT i don't like.
- 24:20Speaker 12: It all, right that's that's like last of the, list, right.
- 24:25Speaker 13: That's that's, uh that's that's like desperate mode right.
- 24:29Speaker 1: THERE a golp with a popping cork is. Desperate now
- 24:33Speaker 1: most most people are throwing live, shrip you, know up
- 24:36Speaker 1: and down The texas coast to try to catch a red.
- 24:38Speaker 13: Fish, yeah, well it's hard to buy a liveate around
- 24:41Speaker 13: you told. Me, yeah it's hard to buy a libate around.
- 24:43Speaker 13: Here and when you, do you buy shrimp by the,
- 24:45Speaker 13: peace not by the.
- 24:46Speaker 12: Court, wow it's like per, shrimp.
- 24:49Speaker 11: Shrimp twenty five thirty five cents per. Shrimp it's. Expensive, yep, yep.
- 24:54Speaker 12: Yep that's one even with with those of us who
- 24:58Speaker 12: throw the spoon up and up in the.
- 25:01Speaker 11: Weed.
- 25:01Speaker 13: Right, yeah you can lose one or two spoons that
- 25:03Speaker 13: still come out. Ahead but but, Look i'm telling, you
- 25:06Speaker 13: these guys around here that do that can buy a. Shrimp,
- 25:10Speaker 13: uh they buy them and then what they what twenty
- 25:14Speaker 13: five thirty five cents apiece a, piece and then what
- 25:17Speaker 13: they do is they take them home and cook the.
- 25:20Speaker 12: Rest hey you Better, yeah what you were going to
- 25:24Speaker 12: say is they cut them in.
- 25:25Speaker 11: Thirds, No, no they take them home and cook them. Back.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Wow so this if you want to come and have
- 25:33Speaker 1: a true Like Marsh bayou, Experience, uh this is a
- 25:39Speaker 1: great place to. Come and, again the quality of fish you're,
- 25:44Speaker 1: catching that's the THING i think that's as stuck out to.
- 25:48Speaker 1: ME i don't THINK i expected all these fish to
- 25:53Speaker 1: be the kind of size redfish we're.
- 25:56Speaker 12: Getting, yeah pretty.
- 25:57Speaker 13: MUCH i think you, know the fish we caught, today
- 25:59Speaker 13: all of them were seven nine, pounds and that's that's
- 26:02Speaker 13: average around here this time of. Year now you get
- 26:06Speaker 13: into the fall and these fish are gonna get they're
- 26:08Speaker 13: gonna get. Big they're gonna be you, know thirty to
- 26:11Speaker 13: forty five. Inches, uh they're gonna get real, big even,
- 26:14Speaker 13: bigger even. Bigger yeah, Yeah SO i, mean, uh but
- 26:19Speaker 13: but the fishery here is just incredible and.
- 26:25Speaker 11: It's hard, work you bet it's hard, work you, MET i.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Mean IT'S i mean we we we threw a lot,
- 26:31Speaker 1: today we cast a.
- 26:32Speaker 13: Lot it's hard. Work it's not. EASY i mean to
- 26:36Speaker 13: me it, is but but not all the.
- 26:37Speaker 12: Time to, me that makes the payoff more.
- 26:40Speaker 1: SPECIAL i know that sounds kind of, weird but if you're, working, working,
- 26:45Speaker 1: working and you finally get one of those you, know
- 26:48Speaker 1: twenty eight inch reds, on you feel like you've accomplished.
- 26:52Speaker 14: Something.
- 26:52Speaker 11: Absolutely, absolutely they they they give you a.
- 26:55Speaker 12: Pull, yes they do forty pround. Braid you're not playing around.
- 26:59Speaker 11: With them, either tight drags forty pound. Braid uh usually.
- 27:04Speaker 13: Yeah and it's and it's and they're in the, grass
- 27:07Speaker 13: they're in the in the. Rose, oh they're up in the.
- 27:09Speaker 13: LILIES i, mean you're you're it's a. Fight it's it's great.

- 32:48Speaker 4: Was this this Was?
- 32:50Speaker 5: Last friday, OH wow i.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Didn't realize it was. That, recent, okay.
- 32:55Speaker 5: Well my trip actually Began. ON thursday i rived the
- 32:58Speaker 5: Ranch about, thursday noon and and the incident Occurred, on
- 33:04Speaker 5: friday evening on my.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Evening hunt and you you have hunted this, Ranch.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Previously, Randy yes i've been privileged to Hunt the.
- 33:15Speaker 5: Hail Ranch In zamala County In south texas for twenty
- 33:22Speaker 5: five years. Or SO and i was on a coal
- 33:26Speaker 5: hunt this, particular time helping helping coal, you know deer
- 33:32Speaker 5: that needed to be removed from.
- 33:34Speaker 11: The and.
- 33:37Speaker 5: That that was the kind of the setting in. The
- 33:40Speaker 5: time this is.
- 33:41Speaker 4: A big deer ranch in, Other.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Words, oh yeah they have beautiful deer on. That ranch,
- 33:47Speaker 5: in fact the friday MORNING that i had my encounter
- 33:52Speaker 5: with a buck that didn't want to give up, the
- 33:56Speaker 5: ghosts so, to speak one of our lucky trophy hunters
- 34:00Speaker 5: got a two and twenty three in monster, beautiful deer
- 34:06Speaker 5: one of the prettiest Shape deer i've. Ever seen but.
- 34:12Speaker 4: So you you say you've finded on this range twenty.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Five years YOU'VE hunted i think in various places throughout,
- 34:18Speaker 1: the world have.
- 34:19Speaker 5: You not, Oh yeah i've Run in africa, several Times And, British, Columbia, Alberta,
- 34:29Speaker 5: quebec mexico all Across The. United states i'm mostly. Bow
- 34:39Speaker 5: hunting So.
- 34:40Speaker 1: What i'm establishing is you're an. Experienced, outdoorsman, well uh.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Maybe maybe maybe a little more experienced, than some and
- 34:51Speaker 5: maybe not as much, As others but it wasn't my.
- 34:54Speaker 5: First rodeo i'll, say that what's.
- 34:58Speaker 1: What's the fiercest animal all you've ever gone?
- 35:01Speaker 4: After before?
- 35:02Speaker 5: Last week, WELL said i guess the most dangerous animal
- 35:10Speaker 5: was when my son graduated from. High school he wanted
- 35:13Speaker 5: to go boat Hunting For cape Buffalo And, south africa
- 35:16Speaker 5: AND so i was the second rifle backing him up on.
- 35:21Speaker 5: THAT hunt I.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Guess i know they have a. Nasty, disposition well.
- 35:27Speaker 5: If you put the arrow in the, wrong place they,
- 35:29Speaker 5: sure do.
- 35:33Speaker 1: All right so we've established the fact that you've been
- 35:36Speaker 1: outdoors for a long time and you've been hunting a.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Long time so tell us what Happened last.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Friday, AFTERNOON well i think it was a case of
- 35:46Speaker 5: the new garrity. BREEDS contempt i exercised for judgment and
- 35:54Speaker 5: presumed that this hunt was going to go like hundreds
- 35:57Speaker 5: of other hunts in the PAST when i, was, uh
- 36:01Speaker 5: honey white, tailed DEER and i was going to go
- 36:03Speaker 5: out and shoot the white tail deer and come home
- 36:07Speaker 5: and light at my buddies about how far they were
- 36:10Speaker 5: and the great Shopping that i'd shot a little six
- 36:18Speaker 5: point colbunk about thirty minutes before. This happened he stepped
- 36:23Speaker 5: out about four thirty years at, the THEATER and i
- 36:27Speaker 5: dropped him pretty quick and chambered. Another round it was
- 36:34Speaker 5: about a hundred thirty inch, eight pointer took to be
- 36:38Speaker 5: about four and a half. Years old stepped out about
- 36:42Speaker 5: one hundred and fifty yards away at the crosstairs on
- 36:45Speaker 5: his chest and squeezed. It off just about that time
- 36:47Speaker 5: he stepped and he didn't drop and went on off
- 36:53Speaker 5: the sin darrow into, the brush and so all had one.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Round left and that's probably a mistake going to. THE
- 37:02Speaker 5: stand i usually try to only shoot you in the
- 37:05Speaker 5: air when i'm on a management or. Coal hunt more
- 37:08Speaker 5: than two it's kind of hard to deal with FRONT
- 37:12Speaker 5: and i spread it. OUT side I realized i had
- 37:16Speaker 5: another round and slipped down there and the buck jumped
- 37:21Speaker 5: out of the brush about fifty, YARDS away a crossing
- 37:23Speaker 5: him from right, to left put the crosshairs out in
- 37:27Speaker 5: front of him and squeezed, it off and he. ROLLED
- 37:29Speaker 5: him i THOUGHT he I thought i'd, killed him and
- 37:33Speaker 5: he jumped up and went on into the brush and
- 37:37Speaker 5: start me a, little DARKER and, i, Thought well i'll
- 37:40Speaker 5: just slip along here and find him before it. Gets
- 37:45Speaker 5: dark and this whole end just about the way they.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Always DO and i slipped along his trail and do
- 37:55Speaker 5: a big Black brush john gorm pushed my way through
- 37:59Speaker 5: the into, the CLEARING and i was looking ahead a
- 38:02Speaker 5: little clearing about maybe got ten feet in in, diagonally
- 38:10Speaker 5: FASTED and i was, looking ahead thinking that buck was
- 38:14Speaker 5: up ahead, of ME and I realized dame thing was
- 38:16Speaker 5: crouched down facing me in. The clearing how far how
- 38:21Speaker 5: far away i'd say?
- 38:23Speaker 11: He was.
- 38:27Speaker 5: He was probably probably six or seven feet.
- 38:31Speaker 14: From.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Him, wow okay so you almost stepped?
- 38:33Speaker 5: On, him, Yeah YEAH and i set the rifle over to,
- 38:39Speaker 5: the SIDE and i figured the buck was. About expired
- 38:42Speaker 5: shot the darn. Thing TWICE although i could not see
- 38:46Speaker 5: the deer was, facing me looking back down the back
- 38:49Speaker 5: down in the, BACK trail i couldn't see where the bear.
- 38:53Speaker 11: Was, wounded yeah.
- 38:54Speaker 5: Facing, STRAIGHT on i didn't see a little blood on.
- 38:57Speaker 5: His NOSTRILS so I presumed i him in at least
- 39:01Speaker 5: one of. His lugs AND so I decided i would
- 39:04Speaker 5: just stand there quietly and as his blood. PRESSURE dropped
- 39:08Speaker 5: i expected he just roll Over and i'd drag him
- 39:12Speaker 5: out to the cindero and go get the truck and
- 39:14Speaker 5: that would. Be that and set the rifle down and
- 39:22Speaker 5: looked off, the left looked off. The right in the
- 39:25Speaker 5: blink of, AN eye i was on my back and
- 39:27Speaker 5: that deer had his two two on his, right side
- 39:30Speaker 5: stuff about four or five inches into my. Left eye
- 39:34Speaker 5: had my left hand pinned under one of the other,
- 39:36Speaker 5: top TIMES and I thought i was just in shock
- 39:41Speaker 5: there for about. FIFTEEN seconds i couldn't couldn't believe this
- 39:44Speaker 5: had happened, to me, you know The old i'm too
- 39:50Speaker 5: good to have the.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Spend so he had he had jumped up from, his
- 39:55Speaker 1: knees knocked you down in the blink of an eye
- 39:59Speaker 1: and go or you into the in.
- 40:01Speaker 5: The, thigh yeah he had me pinned. AND started i
- 40:06Speaker 5: don't know if you've ever seen bucks, fighting before not
- 40:11Speaker 5: just young bucks tinkling their antlers back, and forth but
- 40:14Speaker 5: real mature. Bucks fighting they're trying to kill, each, other
- 40:19Speaker 5: yes and giving it everything. That had this buck was
- 40:22Speaker 5: doing that and was thrashing me back. And FORTH and
- 40:26Speaker 5: i looked down there and saw that time in my
- 40:30Speaker 5: near my femoral artery stuck in my thigh by about
- 40:33Speaker 5: four or. Five INCHES now i thought he was killed
- 40:36Speaker 5: me by tearing my memoral, artery OUT and I realized
- 40:41Speaker 5: i was going to have to change. THE situation i
- 40:43Speaker 5: was going to die. Right THERE so i grabbed the
- 40:46Speaker 5: left handler with my right hand and pushed up with
- 40:50Speaker 5: my left hand and got my left hand out thunder
- 40:52Speaker 5: him and pushed up as HARD as. I could i
- 40:55Speaker 5: guess the adrenaline, helped, me UH which i couldn't have,
- 41:00Speaker 5: otherwise DONE and i Got the the deer pushed up
- 41:04Speaker 5: high enough so as his time came out of. My
- 41:06Speaker 5: thigh as SOON as i saw that my antler was
- 41:12Speaker 5: out of, my thigh scooped my left leg out from.
- 41:16Speaker 5: Under him but that if he slammed, back down he
- 41:18Speaker 5: wouldn't stab me again in, that LEG and i expected
- 41:22Speaker 5: that that's what he was. Gonna do but just as
- 41:25Speaker 5: quickly as, it started as SOON as i got him
- 41:28Speaker 5: his antler out of, my leg the deer just. Pulled
- 41:32Speaker 5: away and just.
- 41:34Speaker 11: What he was?
- 41:37Speaker 7: He?
- 41:37Speaker 5: Running, yeah yeah he he departed, the clearing and OF
- 41:42Speaker 5: course i was staring at my THIGH because, i well,
- 41:47Speaker 5: you know what if he'd gotten my. MORAL artery I
- 41:50Speaker 5: realized i was going to bleed out right THERE and
- 41:52Speaker 5: i wasn't gonna make.
- 41:53Speaker 4: It back were you bleeding pretty heavily as?
- 41:55Speaker 5: It, WAS yes i was bleeding pretty heavily as it
- 41:59Speaker 5: was out of. My head one of his somehow he'd
- 42:02Speaker 5: cut my scalp open behind my, left ear and he
- 42:06Speaker 5: cut big place on. My hand it was pretty, bloody now.
- 42:10Speaker 1: The hand the hand was What you you were pinned
- 42:13Speaker 1: down with, an antler. The scalp do you know if
- 42:16Speaker 1: it was the who for an antler that?
- 42:17Speaker 5: Did that now it was one of. His, times okay
- 42:22Speaker 5: he definitely hooked me. WITH it i think it may
- 42:26Speaker 5: have been his main. Beam, there uh but it happened,
- 42:30Speaker 5: so fast it's almost the car a. Car wreck one
- 42:35Speaker 5: minute you're. Driving along in the next instant of of,
- 42:39Speaker 5: of consciousness you're, you're you're, you know upside down in,
- 42:42Speaker 5: the ditch and that's that's. Either way this was ONE
- 42:45Speaker 5: moment i was thinking ABOUT what i was going to
- 42:48Speaker 5: do back in the. Camp house now MUCH chili i
- 42:50Speaker 5: was going To have in the. NEXT minute i was
- 42:52Speaker 5: trying to figure out a way to keep him from
- 42:54Speaker 5: tearing my, leg up And but as SOON as i
- 42:58Speaker 5: got him out of, my leg he pulled away, and
- 43:01Speaker 5: LEFT and, i WAS like, I said i was staring
- 43:03Speaker 5: at my SIDE because i knew that if he he
- 43:08Speaker 5: ripped the, FOMORAL artery i was probably not going to.
- 43:11Speaker 5: SURVIVE it i was trying to evaluate that and trying
- 43:15Speaker 5: to term THE whether i need to take my belf
- 43:17Speaker 5: off and make a tournaive they, go THAT and i
- 43:23Speaker 5: determined that he probably had not pull my them ALL
- 43:27Speaker 5: because i didn't see that kind of squirting archial blood
- 43:31Speaker 5: that you would get from that kind of. An injury
- 43:34Speaker 5: i've shot there before with my bow and went through
- 43:37Speaker 5: the formoral artery that were running, past me and they
- 43:41Speaker 5: bleed out as quickly as you shoot him in the
- 43:43Speaker 5: lawns from that kind of a hid that that luckily
- 43:48Speaker 5: he didn't. Do that AND then i picked up, my glasses,
- 43:52Speaker 5: found them put my, glasses on picked up the, empty
- 43:55Speaker 5: rifle and went out the the, fence line picked out
- 43:59Speaker 5: myself on and texted my. HUNTING partner I was i
- 44:03Speaker 5: was the driver.
- 44:04Speaker 4: On The eating how far were you from?
- 44:06Speaker 5: THE truck i was about three hundred yards from, the
- 44:10Speaker 5: truck about one hundred yards from the fence line where
- 44:13Speaker 5: there was, the track and about two hundred yards down
- 44:18Speaker 5: the fence line was. The truck at THAT point i
- 44:21Speaker 5: texted my buddy and the camp cooked and said in
- 44:26Speaker 5: the text gored by buck on the west, FENCE line i.
- 44:33Speaker 5: NEED help i left onto the truck and got in.
- 44:39Speaker 5: The truck THE truck I realized I was i was
- 44:43Speaker 5: Confident that i'd not damaged them all ARDOR because i made,
- 44:46Speaker 5: THE truck i presume that it be ripped my ARTERY
- 44:50Speaker 5: and i was probably going to, be.
- 44:52Speaker 4: Dead, You, Know so so by, this time had the
- 44:56Speaker 4: had the shock worn't off? For you were you in pretty?
- 44:59Speaker 11: Good?
- 44:59Speaker 5: Pain, hmm, well yeah the shock was had worn off
- 45:03Speaker 5: by THE time i made it out of the brush
- 45:05Speaker 5: and got the. Fence line and THAT'S when i had
- 45:08Speaker 5: declarity of thought to use my cell phone to text
- 45:11Speaker 5: my companions let him KNOW where i was on the
- 45:14Speaker 5: on the assumption THAT if i did, pass out at
- 45:16Speaker 5: least they'd have a reference point to, start looking and
- 45:22Speaker 5: got in, the truck took off down the, fence line
- 45:27Speaker 5: probably FASTER than i, should Have and I'M sure i
- 45:31Speaker 5: caught aaron time, or two but picked my buddy up
- 45:34Speaker 5: on his stand, he had unfortunately had not been looking at,
- 45:39Speaker 5: his phone.
- 45:40Speaker 4: So he had seen he had not seen.
- 45:42Speaker 11: Your.
- 45:42Speaker 5: Text correct he at FIRST thought i, was, Kidding uh
- 45:49Speaker 5: but then when he saw the blood on my face
- 45:52Speaker 5: and coming down, my neck HE realized i. Was not
- 45:54Speaker 5: he he came. On it he wanted to try. AND
- 45:57Speaker 5: drive i told him to get in. THE truck i
- 45:59Speaker 5: didn't FEEL like i wanted to try. To, MOVE yeah
- 46:02Speaker 5: i was sitting by. This time the paint was kind
- 46:05Speaker 5: of washing, over ME and i just wanted to get
- 46:08Speaker 5: back to the headquarters and get to the hospital as
- 46:11Speaker 5: QUICK as. I could.
- 46:13Speaker 4: So how far back was it to the headquarters.
- 46:17Speaker 14: From.
- 46:18Speaker 5: THAT pivot i guess that was probably not more than
- 46:23Speaker 5: three quarters of.
- 46:24Speaker 4: A mile so when you get back they call.
- 46:27Speaker 5: For help then now we the foreman knew where the
- 46:33Speaker 5: nearest hospital Was In. New valley. Uh huh they put
- 46:36Speaker 5: me in his truck and my buddy and the foreman
- 46:39Speaker 5: drove To The Valdi. Medical center they took me into
- 46:43Speaker 5: the r immediately and realized that they needed a surgeon
- 46:47Speaker 5: didn't have one, on call so they put me in
- 46:50Speaker 5: an ambulance and sent Me To Brooke Army, medical center
- 46:53Speaker 5: which Is a Level One trauma center AND.
- 46:55Speaker 14: S r and.
- 46:58Speaker 5: They brought me in and took me under and clean cleaned,
- 47:06Speaker 5: it out put in, a drain AND when i, CAME
- 47:09Speaker 5: to i WAS realized i was going to.
- 47:13Speaker 14: Make it, and uh.
- 47:16Speaker 5: At, that point the the shock was gone and the embarrassment.
- 47:22Speaker 4: Was growing how how has how has the wound healed
- 47:26Speaker 4: in the? Last?
- 47:27Speaker 5: Week, randy well, It's well i've been blessed to have some,
- 47:32Speaker 5: some good good docks taking care of me Here In.
- 47:35Speaker 5: College Station that, IN fact i had my drain removed
- 47:39Speaker 5: yesterday evening and that makes uh limping around a. Little
- 47:44Speaker 5: easier that drain they had in it was about half
- 47:48Speaker 5: an inch wide channel that ran parallel to the. Womb
- 47:54Speaker 5: channel the WOMB channel i bowled was between four and five. Inches,
- 47:57Speaker 5: deep wow so they ran this beside that it looked like.
- 48:02Speaker 4: A straw so the wound is they had to. Leave, open,
- 48:06Speaker 4: yeah yeah.
- 48:07Speaker 5: They won't leave, that open so it will it's like a.
- 48:10Speaker 5: Stab wound, they say needs to heal from the. Inside
- 48:12Speaker 5: out i'm assuming.
- 48:14Speaker 1: You're on lots of antibiotics because of the possibility of
- 48:17Speaker 1: infection from something.
- 48:18Speaker 5: Like, that exactly that's. Exactly Right, they fortunately they they
- 48:25Speaker 5: did a good job At Both Vality medical center and
- 48:29Speaker 5: had the promise center At At Brook Army. Medical center
- 48:33Speaker 5: they did a really good job of cleaning up my
- 48:34Speaker 5: surgeon here was very complementary of the job they did
- 48:40Speaker 5: In At Brook Army. Medical center AND so i was
- 48:43Speaker 5: blessed to be seen by some good positions in.
- 48:47Speaker 4: Sure order what happened to, The, deer.
- 48:53Speaker 5: Well the deer probably went out and told all his
- 48:58Speaker 5: buddies about the one he shot that they never. Found
- 49:03Speaker 5: him they found they that the foreman found the little
- 49:08Speaker 5: six POINTER that i had shot about thirty minutes before that.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Covered him but the the buck that got me is
- 49:17Speaker 5: not being. Found, yet wow perhaps they'll find find his
- 49:22Speaker 5: carcass with you know By seeing burt you know the carricres.
- 49:26Speaker 5: Or vultures but they have not found. Him yet.
- 49:31Speaker 1: THAT uh i know that you, know this but every animal,
- 49:36Speaker 1: is different and you know some of them have, an
- 49:43Speaker 1: well all deer have an incredible uh innate ability to
- 49:50Speaker 1: survive a lot, of trauma as you. Well know, OH yeah,
- 49:56Speaker 1: i know you shot deer through the heart that can
- 49:58Speaker 1: run two.
- 49:59Speaker 5: Hundred, Yards well I've shot impaula's that went two, hundred
- 50:06Speaker 5: yards shot through, the heart not never a, white tail
- 50:08Speaker 5: but just because white IMPALA's are so. Much FASTER but
- 50:12Speaker 5: i have shot, you know we all know the old
- 50:14Speaker 5: depth dash when you when you put an arrow through,
- 50:17Speaker 5: their heart that they run as hard as, they can
- 50:19Speaker 5: as far as they can and, crash out usually hear
- 50:22Speaker 5: or smashing into a mesquite or whatever. They hit, but yeah, they're, they're,
- 50:27Speaker 5: they're they're they're adrenaline allows them to do things that are.
- 50:33Speaker 5: Pretty INCREDIBLE as i understand that that's also what causes
- 50:37Speaker 5: a lot of Griefs With, kate buffalo even when.
- 50:39Speaker 4: They're, shot well when will you be able to? Hunt, again.
- 50:46Speaker 5: Well my wife At the christmas party for our firm
- 50:51Speaker 5: last night was how that was never.
- 50:54Speaker 4: Gonna HAPPEN.
- 50:59Speaker 5: Reconsidered uh another TIME during uh and see IF maybe
- 51:04Speaker 5: i have better LUCK then i know for A fact
- 51:07Speaker 5: i can still go white fishing and. Bird watching but
- 51:12Speaker 5: seems to like her her position WAS that i ought
- 51:14Speaker 5: not to go deer.
- 51:15Speaker 4: Hunting, again well it seems it seems.
- 51:18Speaker 1: To me, YOU know i will Tell you i'm at
- 51:21Speaker 1: THE older I get i'm not nearly as mad as
- 51:23Speaker 1: that at DEER as.
- 51:24Speaker 4: I used, To be but.
- 51:28Speaker 1: It would seem to me that that you would you
- 51:30Speaker 1: would have to exact some revenge here in the not too.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Distant, future well, you know people have asked me about
- 51:38Speaker 5: that if, IN retrospect i really hold no grudge against.
- 51:44Speaker 5: That deer, you know, IN fact i respect. The deer
- 51:48Speaker 5: the deer would did exactly what you would expect it,
- 51:50Speaker 5: to do what it should. HAVE done i was out
- 51:53Speaker 5: there trying to kill it and would have, and, it uh,
- 51:58Speaker 5: you know it did what. They DO so i guess
- 52:00Speaker 5: to take away for myself was have respect for. These
- 52:05Speaker 5: animals don't don't take. FOR granted i always tell People
- 52:13Speaker 5: who i'm trying to make. A point sometimes this good
- 52:17Speaker 5: judgment comes from experience and a lot of that comes from.
- 52:20Speaker 5: Bad judgment well that's exactly what happened. THAT day i exercised.
- 52:25Speaker 5: BAD judgment i took that deer. FOR granted i PRESUME
- 52:32Speaker 5: that i just needed the three rounds of any this
- 52:36Speaker 5: to feel my two DEER that i was such a
- 52:39Speaker 5: great shot that there's no POSSIBLE way i, could have,
- 52:43Speaker 5: you know screwed up one hundred and fifty yard kip shop,
- 52:46Speaker 5: like that understanding bogside. That RIFLE and, i did and
- 52:52Speaker 5: those those bad judgments added up, to me almost not making.
- 52:56Speaker 5: An ome well.
- 52:57Speaker 4: We are we're glad that you're here to tell.
- 53:00Speaker 1: THE story i hope this is a cautionary tale for
- 53:04Speaker 1: everyone who continues to go out in.
- 53:06Speaker 5: The, FIELD yeah i, TELL you. I think I think
- 53:11Speaker 5: i'll do things, differently, if if and when my emotion
- 53:14Speaker 5: to reconsider is granted by My lovely, But yeah i'm
- 53:21Speaker 5: going to need to be a little more careful in
- 53:23Speaker 5: future and start exercising some of that.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Good, judgment randy thank you so much for the story
