- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: This is the almost famous podcast we have the what
- 0:10Speaker 2: do you consider yourself?
- 0:10Speaker 3: Are you the.
- 0:12Speaker 4: Correspond n gold Carpet Correspondence.
- 0:17Speaker 3: The two of you.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I have no clue how you did. Actually I have
- 0:22Speaker 2: not seen it.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I was going to see the great and I was like, I.
- 0:27Speaker 5: Believe the Internet, which they said we did great.
- 0:30Speaker 6: Yeah, really, Kathy absolutely question.
- 0:32Speaker 5: Oh we questioned. I still think it would have been
- 0:36Speaker 5: better if they dug me a hole and put you
- 0:38Speaker 5: on a step ladder.
- 0:40Speaker 6: She's already started.
- 0:43Speaker 3: When did the two of you find out this was
- 0:45Speaker 3: going to be your role?
- 0:47Speaker 6: I think like a few weeks ago. It's kind of
- 0:50Speaker 6: like a brief short notice and we're like, okay, we're
- 0:53Speaker 6: going all right.
- 0:56Speaker 5: I was like, where are you I'm going to be
- 0:58Speaker 5: on January fourth, and can you come and help us out?
- 1:01Speaker 4: Sure?
- 1:01Speaker 3: What do you need?
- 1:03Speaker 4: Amazing? Literally and you didn't know it was coming, like
- 1:06Speaker 4: there was no warning.
- 1:07Speaker 5: No, and like I.
- 1:09Speaker 6: Think, no, they had asked me and then they didn't
- 1:14Speaker 6: tell me that Kathy was gonna be with me initially,
- 1:18Speaker 6: so then I was like okay, like is it by myself?
- 1:20Speaker 6: And then They're like, no, it's going to be with
- 1:22Speaker 6: a golden lady. And I was like, I'm trying to think,
- 1:24Speaker 6: like who is it? Yep, it was literally only you
- 1:27Speaker 6: that I can think of, because I was like, I
- 1:29Speaker 6: was seeing you guys because.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Your mouth is there there. I started Kathy about this
- 1:38Speaker 3: last night.
- 1:39Speaker 4: M M.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever had the experience. How do
- 1:43Speaker 2: you mentally prepare for live television? Like being on TV
- 1:50Speaker 2: you've gotten used to both of you have all you know, Drista,
- 1:53Speaker 2: it's not a big deal, but live TV, I feel
- 1:56Speaker 2: like mentally i'd be kind of it'd be a different ballgame.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Well, and also so I've done a little bit of
- 2:01Speaker 4: corresponding stuff like Back in the Day, Good Morning America
- 2:04Speaker 4: and Extra and whatever, a bunch of other stuff, and
- 2:07Speaker 4: I think live red carpet stuff is actually really difficult,
- 2:12Speaker 4: like the stuff that when we're getting interviewed, right, you're
- 2:15Speaker 4: talking about your life. Yeah, I mean, hello, you're an
- 2:20Speaker 4: expert on Everyone is an expert in their own life, right,
- 2:24Speaker 4: so you're interviewing other people. So I feel like for me,
- 2:27Speaker 4: the experience was harder. The cameras didn't matter to me
- 2:31Speaker 4: because I was used to that stuff, right, But it's
- 2:34Speaker 4: like talking to other people and trying to get their
- 2:37Speaker 4: personalities to come alive, right, instead of just answering questions
- 2:42Speaker 4: about their life. Right, do you feel did you have
- 2:44Speaker 4: fun with it? Did you enjoy it?
- 2:46Speaker 6: I did? And I like to like go off of that.
- 2:48Speaker 6: I think for me that was like probably harder, Like
- 2:51Speaker 6: I can talk, I can speak, but like to like, no,
- 2:54Speaker 6: you only have short amount of time and you know
- 2:57Speaker 6: you're trying to like get a feel for someone's personal
- 2:59Speaker 6: like you know who you probab will be going to interview,
- 3:00Speaker 6: but even then in that moment, you don't know what
- 3:02Speaker 6: to expect or what you're going to get. Kathy, I
- 3:04Speaker 6: will say, That's why I said you crushed it, because
- 3:07Speaker 6: like you're so good at like just being like witty
- 3:09Speaker 6: and like quick, and I was like, you know, trying
- 3:11Speaker 6: to still get a feel, and so that was something
- 3:13Speaker 6: I was like stepping into. But it is hard. It's
- 3:15Speaker 6: like you don't really you can't really prepare for it.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And following a script. Yeah, you know, you have the
- 3:20Speaker 4: prompture in front of you, and you can you know
- 3:22Speaker 4: what your lines are going to be essentially, but sometimes
- 3:25Speaker 4: your mind doesn't.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I went to your mouth.
- 3:27Speaker 5: In my mind truly, when I said last night, I
- 3:31Speaker 5: wasn't sure what's going to come out of my mouth.
- 3:32Speaker 5: I mean, that is the truth for me always, But
- 3:36Speaker 5: I didn't for me, I didn't think about live TV.
- 3:40Speaker 5: I just thought, I'm talking to my friends that i've met. Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 5: and if you're for me, if it's if you're yourself
- 3:47Speaker 5: and you make the other person feel comfortable, it's going
- 3:50Speaker 5: to go well.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yeah, true story.
- 3:53Speaker 2: What a place to be on live television not knowing
- 3:55Speaker 2: what's coming to your mouth.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I don't know what's coming on that mouth half of
- 3:58Speaker 3: the time. So I'm with you.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I want to phrase this question for you, Kathy, because
- 4:03Speaker 2: after last night, I do believe the internet said you
- 4:07Speaker 2: did a great job. I think they are thrilled with
- 4:09Speaker 2: the two of you and think it was really fun.
- 4:11Speaker 2: But there is this side of it where the comments
- 4:13Speaker 2: are like, how like why would Kathy agree to do
- 4:16Speaker 2: this job at Teresa's wedding? After you guys kind of
- 4:20Speaker 2: were known for the battle during the show right where
- 4:24Speaker 2: the words were said. Can you just give our listeners
- 4:27Speaker 2: a perspective of where that relationship stands today and why
- 4:29Speaker 2: you said yes to doing this at her wedding.
- 4:34Speaker 5: So Teresa and I truly are very good friends. I mean,
- 4:38Speaker 5: we sent them a wedding gift.
- 4:40Speaker 4: You know.
- 4:40Speaker 5: I talked with Teresa on the phone. I talk with Gary.
- 4:43Speaker 5: They are lovely people. It was such a minute part
- 4:47Speaker 5: of the whole of the whole experience. And coming here
- 4:52Speaker 5: and seeing them be so happy. I jumped the chance.
- 4:55Speaker 5: I love to celebrate love, their love, my love that's coming,
- 5:00Speaker 5: you know. So it was just such an opportunity. And
- 5:04Speaker 5: of course Bachelor franchise and meeting all these wonderful people. Honestly,
- 5:09Speaker 5: it's just been a gift for me.
- 5:10Speaker 3: It's a gift that's awesome.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So there was never like there was you know, it
- 5:15Speaker 2: was such just like you said in my new issue,
- 5:16Speaker 2: there was never this like I can't do that because
- 5:18Speaker 2: we can't stand each other.
- 5:21Speaker 3: We love each other and we talk.
- 5:23Speaker 5: On the phone and we you know, I was with
- 5:25Speaker 5: her when she went for her wedding dress shopping. It's just,
- 5:28Speaker 5: you know, sometimes in the moment, something happens and it's
- 5:32Speaker 5: just it's just.
- 5:33Speaker 3: That it's a moment.
- 5:34Speaker 5: Yeah, And seeing their faces and getting hugged, giving her
- 5:38Speaker 5: a hug and getting a hug, it was just great
- 5:41Speaker 5: to you know, resume that friendship.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks for the explanation, because you know, I think
- 5:46Speaker 2: I think that's how it felt last night. You know,
- 5:48Speaker 2: if you were there, you felt the celebration. Prombody there
- 5:50Speaker 2: was never like, you know, we just had leslie in here.
- 5:53Speaker 2: You know, if anybody would feel weird about being here,
- 5:55Speaker 2: it would be her. And she's like, no, I want
- 5:57Speaker 2: to be here to see my friends. Yeah, but also
- 6:00Speaker 2: you know.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Yeah, totally.
- 6:12Speaker 3: So Charity.
- 6:13Speaker 4: How are things with your very tall man? He is
- 6:21Speaker 4: the sweetest guy ever? I love him? How are they?
- 6:26Speaker 6: Things are actually great? Obviously, like we just wrapped up
- 6:29Speaker 6: dancing with the stars. But when I say like that
- 6:32Speaker 6: in itself was its own journey. But like obviously our
- 6:35Speaker 6: relationship still being like semi fresh in the public eye,
- 6:38Speaker 6: Like he is just truly the best person. He's so supportive.
- 6:42Speaker 6: I could have not done any of that without him, truly,
- 6:46Speaker 6: and just for us to kind of still be in
- 6:48Speaker 6: a place where we're just he's a nurturer, that's who
- 6:52Speaker 6: he is at his core. And you know, we're still
- 6:56Speaker 6: building our relationship every single day. That's never going to stop.
- 6:59Speaker 6: But we're in just such a great place, like after this.
- 7:02Speaker 6: We're going to New York that's where we'll be at.
- 7:04Speaker 6: And I'm just like getting settled for the first time,
- 7:07Speaker 6: having our own place.
- 7:08Speaker 4: And are you getting a place together? Like you're choosing one,
- 7:11Speaker 4: not one place that one of you have.
- 7:13Speaker 6: So it's all new and it's just us like moving
- 7:16Speaker 6: in for the like.
- 7:17Speaker 3: It's always together.
- 7:17Speaker 6: So it's just like a really happy chapter in our lives.
- 7:20Speaker 6: And you know, I'm just now being able to like
- 7:22Speaker 6: also start wedding planning, so it's just all exciting. Like
- 7:25Speaker 6: we're doing so good and he is great. So I
- 7:29Speaker 6: love you guys, I'll see that in him too.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Turned around last night, I said, this is stupid, Like
- 7:34Speaker 2: he's tall, looking and super smart, like nobody should have
- 7:37Speaker 2: all three of those.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I know, I feel like I found somebody like that, But.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I used to be the tall guy. Here you have
- 7:51Speaker 3: he walks. I'm now like not even talking kind of
- 7:57Speaker 3: thing I want to do here.
- 7:58Speaker 2: As we close up with the two of you, Trista,
- 8:01Speaker 2: this has worked for you, Yeah, very much.
- 8:03Speaker 3: So your two kids are here. Charity, you're just getting
- 8:05Speaker 3: started in your relationship.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Yeah, just is there any like if Charity were to
- 8:11Speaker 2: ask you the question, how do I make this now work?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Like now right after Dance with the Stars so crazy?
- 8:17Speaker 2: You know, I know the two of you are doing well,
- 8:19Speaker 2: but like I've been in a bachelor relationship, there's difficulties
- 8:22Speaker 2: around every corner unexpectedly. So Trista, if you were to
- 8:27Speaker 2: give her those like one piece of advice to make
- 8:29Speaker 2: this thing work and push it to a healthy place
- 8:32Speaker 2: from here on out, what would you say?
- 8:34Speaker 4: So, I will say so I did Dancing with the
- 8:36Speaker 4: Stars too, but it was a really long time ago
- 8:39Speaker 4: and we had I was the first season. They called
- 8:41Speaker 4: and they were like, we want you to be on
- 8:42Speaker 4: a ballroom show. I'm like, what are you doing? Is
- 8:46Speaker 4: that a thing? And now it's a really big thing
- 8:48Speaker 4: in America. But like I had a partner who wanted
- 8:54Speaker 4: me to be very like connected and sensual and whatever,
- 8:57Speaker 4: and I'm like, I just got married.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Like three years ago.
- 9:02Speaker 4: It was so uncomfortable. But we had already had like
- 9:06Speaker 4: a couple of years off the show, right, And so
- 9:08Speaker 4: when I heard that you were doing it, I was like,
- 9:11Speaker 4: just no, no.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Why are you doing it?
- 9:13Speaker 4: I don't want it to ruin your relationship. And I
- 9:16Speaker 4: have to say that I think that you've done an
- 9:18Speaker 4: amazing job. I know, we talked last night about how
- 9:21Speaker 4: grueling it is physically, like having to be there every
- 9:25Speaker 4: freaking day, like you are going NonStop, NonStop, So that's
- 9:31Speaker 4: really hard to maintain a relationship. And you guys looked
- 9:35Speaker 4: so happy last night, like so happy, and I'm just
- 9:39Speaker 4: I think that you've already started the good stuff. So
- 9:42Speaker 4: you are planning on getting a place together in New York,
- 9:46Speaker 4: and I think that's a huge step forward. And so
- 9:51Speaker 4: that would have been like my piece of advice is
- 9:54Speaker 4: try to like focus on each other. Yeah, obviously it's
- 9:57Speaker 4: kind of like in any relationship, right, if you want
- 10:00Speaker 4: the relationship to flourish, you have to give it attention
- 10:02Speaker 4: and put an effort, right. But I think also just
- 10:06Speaker 4: in general, like you always hear the piece of pieces
- 10:09Speaker 4: of advice, like you know, communication and trust and honesty
- 10:13Speaker 4: and yes, of course all of those things you need
- 10:15Speaker 4: to have part as part of your relationship. But also
- 10:19Speaker 4: I feel like what I've learned over the years is
- 10:21Speaker 4: forgiveness and not what you're thinking like necessarily like a
- 10:26Speaker 4: big like you know, infidelities and stuff like that. It's
- 10:31Speaker 4: more like the every day if I say something to
- 10:35Speaker 4: hurt Ryan's feelings if he says something or does something
- 10:39Speaker 4: or whatever that like just make me put me in
- 10:42Speaker 4: a bad mood. I'm having a bad day. He's not
- 10:43Speaker 4: being especially supportive because he doesn't feel good or whatever
- 10:46Speaker 4: is happening. Like the tiny little forgiveness is throughout the day,
- 10:50Speaker 4: throughout the week, throughout your your life together as a couple.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I think it's really so important to remember to always
- 10:59Speaker 4: come back yeah to each other and what you found.
- 11:03Speaker 6: That's so beautiful. And I think that's like also something
- 11:06Speaker 6: I don't think I hear that often. It's like always
- 11:08Speaker 6: the other things, But like that's a really good one
- 11:10Speaker 6: because I think when that is in place, it can
- 11:15Speaker 6: obviously not lead or not, it can help eliminate like
- 11:19Speaker 6: things growing into bigger things. So I really appreciate you
- 11:22Speaker 6: telling me that, and thank you.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Well, you got a big chapter in front of you, Charity.
- 11:26Speaker 2: You had a busy year, you had a lot going on.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Last night was a success for for Kathy and Charity.
- 11:32Speaker 3: You crushed it. I think, yeah, according to the internet.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Say that, what I just heard was you can't have
- 11:39Speaker 5: a good relationship if you're not the Bachelor rep and
- 11:42Speaker 5: you're not on Dancing with the Stars, Unscrewing's still.
- 11:47Speaker 3: A chance for you. Dance with the Stars Texas, Texas
- 11:54Speaker 3: two step, be careful.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Dance with the Stars might just be that close and
- 12:02Speaker 2: it's a whole new ride. Anyways, Congrats in the success
- 12:05Speaker 2: for the two of you. I hope you have a
- 12:06Speaker 2: great day in these next cool chapters for you kicking
- 12:10Speaker 2: off something new and something different than what was before you.
- 12:15Speaker 4: So much you
