- 1:10Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five whists stuck in Football
- 1:14Speaker 1: and they are were a whist So yeah, it's too bad,
- 1:17Speaker 1: but what did you expect.
- 1:19Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five whistles wine please.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So I have this weird thing where I have to
- 1:28Speaker 1: go do a photo shoot after this, and so it's
- 1:30Speaker 1: for a TV pilot, and a pilot means we'll end
- 1:35Speaker 1: up just shooting the pilot. It'll never get picked up,
- 1:37Speaker 1: that's the nature of it. You do one hundred of them.
- 1:39Speaker 1: If one gets picked up, that's great, But it does
- 1:41Speaker 1: have a chance to get picked up, yes, and somebody
- 1:43Speaker 1: is financing it so they believe it has a shot.
- 1:45Speaker 1: So but I'm doing I'm not shooting the pilot today.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I'm shooting the art, which is the pictures that they
- 1:51Speaker 1: then build the art on for the pilot today.
- 1:54Speaker 3: That's cool, man, It's fine.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I hate doing pictures because then I have my suit
- 1:59Speaker 1: here it's a macar and they were like, wear full
- 2:01Speaker 1: black suit, black tied, black shirt, whatever. And we run
- 2:04Speaker 1: so tight just in general because it's morning show. Would
- 2:07Speaker 1: you count down? I got commercials to do, we're doing whistles.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm like a planning but we're within like two minutes
- 2:12Speaker 1: at all times. I would rarely go to the bathroom
- 2:15Speaker 1: because oh I empty out before I get here, and
- 2:20Speaker 1: so we're so tight up to get to this shoot
- 2:23Speaker 1: coming up. It starts like an hour. I've had no
- 2:27Speaker 1: lunch and it's lunchtime, So I say, do I need
- 2:29Speaker 1: to grab lunch ahead of time? It doesn't matter what
- 2:32Speaker 1: the answer is. If it's yes, we got to place
- 2:34Speaker 1: at the bottom of the building only five minutes early,
- 2:36Speaker 1: go grab something to eat. Head over. If it's no,
- 2:38Speaker 1: that means I'll have food there, but I need to
- 2:40Speaker 1: know what kind of food. I'm a bit vaky with
- 2:42Speaker 1: my food. And he says snacks here and sandwiches. Here's
- 2:46Speaker 1: my problem. Most stop making sandwiches and put in condiments
- 2:51Speaker 1: on them, put them on the side. I haven't haven't
- 2:53Speaker 1: asked yet, but if I get a sandwich and mayonnaise
- 2:55Speaker 1: on it, I'm out. I will not eat a single thing.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I will Sally Struggles will have me in a commercial
- 3:00Speaker 1: going for eighteen cents a month, you can pay, have
- 3:03Speaker 1: Bobby fed. I'll be I will never eat again if
- 3:05Speaker 1: it has mayonnaise on it.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Just mayonnaise is like mustard.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You're cool with it, Yeah, but just don't do any Yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 1: mustard would be fine. Listen, I hate onions if I
- 3:13Speaker 1: can pick them off. If you put mayonnaise on a sandwich,
- 3:16Speaker 1: it kills, it's dead. I will ruin. I will not eat.
- 3:19Speaker 1: So I have to text back now because I just
- 3:20Speaker 1: got this and say.
- 3:25Speaker 4: It's their mayonnaise.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Do they have Oh man, this might make you sound
- 3:29Speaker 3: a little Beyonce.
- 3:30Speaker 1: No, I don't care because it's my guy.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Oh okay, I thought this was just the photoshoot people.
- 3:35Speaker 1: No, this is tom Lord.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fine.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They're setting it all up ahead of ye Yeah, I
- 3:39Speaker 1: thought you were talking like the photographer. I won't even
- 3:43Speaker 1: look at them, and I'll get my own no prob
- 3:56Speaker 1: l mk boom when people order and again, this happens
- 4:00Speaker 1: at a lot of offices sometimes there are office order sandwiches,
- 4:04Speaker 1: no condiments, put them on the side. Everybody. Everybody is
- 4:09Speaker 1: fine with that because if they're the option to have condiments,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you can put them on. But you're eliminating so many
- 4:15Speaker 1: people that will not. Even if you put mustard on it,
- 4:16Speaker 1: don't put it in any condiments.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Because I hate mustard. I'm like that with mustard.
- 4:20Speaker 1: No way, And you know what, I respect that. I
- 4:21Speaker 1: think that's terrible of you, but I respect it well.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Likewise, what the man is?
- 4:25Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 4:25Speaker 1: How do you eat a corn dog? Dude?
- 4:27Speaker 6: Cat?
- 4:27Speaker 1: I want just one by it, one throat. Oh he
- 4:30Speaker 1: doesn't need any comments, it makes sense. He always like
- 4:31Speaker 1: a pill. He takes like a pill. Oh, like a advilt.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Don't even chew it?
- 4:35Speaker 3: Help slinging corn dogs?
- 4:38Speaker 1: All right on down? Hey, fun story. The Carolina Panthers
- 4:42Speaker 1: are favorite for the first time since twenty twenty two
- 4:44Speaker 1: favorite football in a football game. Oh my good, that's
- 4:47Speaker 1: what's that?
- 4:48Speaker 3: They're playing the Cowboys?
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah good.
- 4:51Speaker 1: So here we are Friday, December thirteenth, twenty twenty four,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and for the first time since Week fifteen of the
- 4:57Speaker 1: twenty twenty two season, the Carolina Panthers are favor to
- 5:00Speaker 1: win the game. Look at that. The Panthers are favored
- 5:06Speaker 1: to win. They're three and ten. They're playing the Cowboys.
- 5:08Speaker 1: They're five and eight. The Panthers are a two point
- 5:11Speaker 1: favorite at home against the Cowboys. Big steps fromward and backward. Yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 1: but you I know you want to win the last
- 5:19Speaker 1: game because if you'd won the last game, you'd.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Kind of been Oh, we would have been a huge
- 5:23Speaker 3: favor here.
- 5:23Speaker 1: No, you'd have been almost back in the mix.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yeah, he'd be alive.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And I told you that, And oh, you've been anti Cowboys.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I told you though. Atmatically we had a chance to
- 5:33Speaker 3: go in the playoffs, and now we can't because somebody
- 5:35Speaker 3: decided to touch the ball that he knew he shouldn't
- 5:37Speaker 3: have touched the ball.
- 5:38Speaker 1: We're not allowing you to do this. I've been fighting
- 5:40Speaker 1: for the Cowboys a whole time. You quit on them
- 5:41Speaker 1: weeks ago, So we're not doing that. You told us,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I've said, they've still been alive. They could go nine
- 5:46Speaker 1: and eight, still make it in. No, we're not allowing it.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You hate your own team.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I don't hate my own team.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you're like on that show. I hate my own race.
- 5:52Speaker 1: When they do like MTV and it's like that that's
- 5:55Speaker 1: a show. Yeah, it was like a version of the
- 5:57Speaker 1: show like I hate my race, and they do specials
- 5:59Speaker 1: on people that were, like, my goodness, whatever race they were,
- 6:02Speaker 1: they hated their own race. That's you. Yeah, your race
- 6:05Speaker 1: is the Dallas Cowboys.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And you became My race is the Dallas Cowboys.
- 6:08Speaker 1: That's pretty acturate, right, Yeah, but the Panthers are a favorite,
- 6:11Speaker 1: which pretty crazy. I got this ball. I want to
- 6:13Speaker 1: show you something. So this is the basketball first, the
- 6:18Speaker 1: dumbest thing and kind of cool. So Tiffany and Company,
- 6:20Speaker 1: you know when you go to the mall at the
- 6:21Speaker 1: expensive jewelry store, Yes, it's all. I guess it's not
- 6:24Speaker 1: just with them all. I guess they have really big
- 6:25Speaker 1: basketballs now too. They make like really expensive other things.
- 6:31Speaker 1: And you could google some of them who knew they
- 6:32Speaker 1: made basketballs? But I looked it up. Kevin tell us
- 6:34Speaker 1: how much a Tiffany. It's Tiffany blue, like the color
- 6:37Speaker 1: of their logo. And I've ever only see Tiffany's at
- 6:40Speaker 1: the mall, maybe a big one, but it's actually a
- 6:41Speaker 1: really big, nice jewelry store. I think that stands alone
- 6:43Speaker 1: in the major cities, like in New York. Yeah, but
- 6:45Speaker 1: I don't know. I can see at them all a
- 6:47Speaker 1: Tiffany basketball and it says Tiffany and Co. New York
- 6:52Speaker 1: since eighteen thirty seven. It's the color of their logo.
- 6:56Speaker 3: That that heal.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yeah good, I'm good with colors.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I got to a.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Tiffany basketball by itself goes four.
- 7:02Speaker 4: I see on eBay three hundred dollars.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Look for a new one that's way that's way too cheap,
- 7:06Speaker 1: and that's probably auction.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Everywhere. Nine to seventy five.
- 7:11Speaker 1: That's about what it is.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Yeah, So this is just the basketball.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and its supposed to be like a flex to
- 7:15Speaker 1: have one. So it's like I got Motifany basketball PI
- 7:17Speaker 1: thousand bucks for it. Dumbest thing. You should never pay
- 7:18Speaker 1: for Tiffany basketball. But if you show up to the
- 7:20Speaker 1: park with that thing, no no respect the opposite, what
- 7:23Speaker 1: are you trying to flex? So I saw this, and
- 7:27Speaker 1: at times you can get lucky on these auction sites
- 7:29Speaker 1: that I'm on because people will list them and they
- 7:31Speaker 1: go the auction turns off at two in the morning
- 7:33Speaker 1: or three thirty in the morning, and it happen to
- 7:35Speaker 1: be up. They don't time out the auction, right, so
- 7:38Speaker 1: nobody's bidding on it because nobody's awake. So I see
- 7:40Speaker 1: a Tiffany basketball and that alone does not make me
- 7:42Speaker 1: go I'd like to have it. But then on the
- 7:44Speaker 1: other side, it's two autographs on the Tiffany basketball.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, is it what I think?
- 7:50Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I don't know you're thinking, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson's he
- 7:53Speaker 1: made it worse. But yes, I saw them, Michael, It's
- 7:57Speaker 1: it's Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. I mean those are
- 7:59Speaker 1: the rival because that yes, Larry Bird versus Magic Johnson.
- 8:03Speaker 1: They Celtics and Lakers eighty forty five and eighty seven
- 8:05Speaker 1: NBA Finals toy played against each other. So I got
- 8:07Speaker 1: this ball, which is stupid balls, like a thousand bucks
- 8:09Speaker 1: just to get us ball signed by either one of them,
- 8:12Speaker 1: five six feve hundred bucks. But I got this whole
- 8:14Speaker 1: thing for like four hundred dollars. Wow, because they went
- 8:16Speaker 1: off at two in the morning. So I have a
- 8:18Speaker 1: stand for I'm gonna keep it on my desk so
- 8:21Speaker 1: if anybody ever sees, like, wow, I was really buying
- 8:24Speaker 1: five that because I could probably sell this for a
- 8:26Speaker 1: few thousand bucks. Now I'm not going to. But they're like,
- 8:28Speaker 1: Bobby's really little for that.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Let me help you with dow. Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 4: I see a few of those on here too.
- 8:33Speaker 7: Look at that.
- 8:34Speaker 1: If you're they're like, man as well, don't tell them,
- 8:36Speaker 1: just tell them. Yeah, he's really living it up. He
- 8:37Speaker 1: probably probably ten grand for that.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Say that pretty huh, that's really cool?
- 8:42Speaker 1: Pretty cool? Yeah, I need to put it on the camera.
- 8:44Speaker 1: But got that brought that in?
- 8:48Speaker 3: Oh you want me to put in the front, I'll
- 8:49Speaker 3: put in the front.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So it's some camera for net.
- 8:50Speaker 6: Well.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I don't have a market soall wall, but if you
- 8:53Speaker 1: put it next to it, it's going to like all off.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I can't have a wapper jobs.
- 8:56Speaker 4: That's a lot.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, wait, I don't like it. I like
- 9:02Speaker 1: my Nolan, Richard and Bough up front. But we'll keep
- 9:04Speaker 1: it up there. Yeah, there's that. We're going to talk
- 9:08Speaker 1: to Arizona State hid football coach Kenny Dillingham in a second, which,
- 9:13Speaker 1: by the way, I think he's thirty four, Is that right? Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 1: that's crazy.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I just don't understand Daling, Like, how do you well?
- 9:21Speaker 1: His story too. He heard himself playing high school football,
- 9:26Speaker 1: then started coaching on the high school team, then went
- 9:32Speaker 1: to college and started like volunteer gaing into college. So
- 9:36Speaker 1: he started way way young. Yeah, like he started young,
- 9:40Speaker 1: eventually worked his way all the way out. Was Memphis
- 9:42Speaker 1: offensive coordinator at Oregon under Dan Lanning took the job.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I think unfairly everyone would see you as like, oh,
- 9:50Speaker 3: he's just a young kid. Well, yeah, he's smart.
- 9:52Speaker 1: They do. I'm sure they did a lot.
- 9:54Speaker 3: And then and then he just goes to that head
- 9:56Speaker 3: coach physician and he's in the playoffs. Like that's freaking awesome.
- 10:00Speaker 1: This takes one person to believe. But again, he got Unfortunately,
- 10:03Speaker 1: he got started early, meaning at the time it was
- 10:05Speaker 1: unfortunate that he had to stop playing ball, but he
- 10:09Speaker 1: was able to use that, I would say for me fortunately,
- 10:13Speaker 1: Like I started doing this when I was seventeen, eighteen
- 10:15Speaker 1: years old, much younger than other people. You know, most
- 10:18Speaker 1: people don't even it started to like their early twenties,
- 10:20Speaker 1: especially when it was like radio. But we were podcasting immediately.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Podcasting had just started, and there will be all these
- 10:26Speaker 1: articles like oh, whiz kid pot was twenty five and
- 10:29Speaker 1: we were crushing it in one city in Austin, but
- 10:31Speaker 1: we were podcasting everything, and they're like whiz kid wasn't
- 10:34Speaker 1: I was a whiz kid. I was just twenty five,
- 10:37Speaker 1: so I was doing things I was already doing. But
- 10:39Speaker 1: most people in that profession, at that position, they weren't
- 10:43Speaker 1: doing those things. There were forties and fifties, so they
- 10:45Speaker 1: weren't podcasting because they weren't doing that in their real life,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and they were looking at it like, no regular radio
- 10:51Speaker 1: is there to stay? Why do I care if somebody down?
- 10:53Speaker 1: So I would be complimented all the time, like, man,
- 10:55Speaker 1: you're so ahead of the curve, and in my outwardly
- 10:58Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, it's tough, and the genie was good,
- 11:01Speaker 1: But inwardly it was only that I happened to be
- 11:05Speaker 1: young and was living that and would just take the
- 11:07Speaker 1: things that I was living and put it into work.
- 11:11Speaker 1: It was fortunate that I started very early doing switching
- 11:15Speaker 1: out a CD on the weekends, right, and then from
- 11:17Speaker 1: that didn't I I did weekend nights and nights and
- 11:20Speaker 1: very small towns and cities. But I started so early
- 11:23Speaker 1: that I was always the youngest at what I did
- 11:24Speaker 1: for a long time. And a bit of this is
- 11:28Speaker 1: that version of the story too, because even with his style,
- 11:31Speaker 1: like it's young he's able to communicate with the players differently,
- 11:34Speaker 1: and people are like, wow, he does it. He just
- 11:36Speaker 1: does it like he does it like he does a
- 11:37Speaker 1: normal life, and people are going, why he's doing it
- 11:39Speaker 1: all this new way. He's really thought it out. But
- 11:41Speaker 1: I think that's just part of who he is as
- 11:43Speaker 1: a person and how he interacts with people his age.
- 11:47Speaker 1: So it comes across different. It hits a bit different
- 11:50Speaker 1: everybody who's used to seeing it one way. That's because
- 11:52Speaker 1: most coaches are forties and fifty sixty seventies, you know. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 1: so it's all a way a good time. It took
- 11:58Speaker 1: a second, I think for him to understand that style,
- 12:02Speaker 1: our style. Yeah, And I think he's doing a decent
- 12:04Speaker 1: amount of press now because get it while you can
- 12:06Speaker 1: get it. Everybody wants to talk to Arizona State. I
- 12:09Speaker 1: think I was like, first question to ask h I
- 12:10Speaker 1: was like, hey, you got a little place to eat
- 12:11Speaker 1: at it. It wasn't like we never asked him about
- 12:14Speaker 1: his age, and I'm sure everybody does that.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I mean, we know how old he is, why ask
- 12:18Speaker 3: him about it?
- 12:19Speaker 1: It was like when we talk to Jerry Rice's sun
- 12:20Speaker 1: and never asked about Jerry Rice. He'd be like, that's
- 12:22Speaker 1: first time anybody's ever did interview not asked about Jerry Rice.
- 12:24Speaker 8: You think that they're on edge, like when are they
- 12:27Speaker 8: gonna ask it? When are they gonna know it's coming?
- 12:28Speaker 4: It's coming? You know, you almost like wait for it edge.
- 12:31Speaker 1: No, do they have the expectation of it?
- 12:35Speaker 5: Yes?
- 12:35Speaker 1: Do they know it's probably part of it? Yeah? Sure,
- 12:38Speaker 1: Like I know if I'm going to do an interview,
- 12:41Speaker 1: they're and I don't mind talking about it all the time,
- 12:43Speaker 1: but they're if it's not a country music and they're
- 12:46Speaker 1: always going to ask about Dancing with the Stars, Yeah,
- 12:48Speaker 1: And I don't always want to talk about Dancing with
- 12:49Speaker 1: the Stars. There are certain parts of it that are
- 12:51Speaker 1: fun for me to talk about. But I know if
- 12:54Speaker 1: it's like an LA thing, they're gonna be like former
- 12:57Speaker 1: Dancing with the Stars champion, and they'll ask about some
- 13:00Speaker 1: element of it or somebody who and I just kind
- 13:03Speaker 1: of get through it. Or if there's a controversy in
- 13:06Speaker 1: country music. Those are the ones I get a little
- 13:08Speaker 1: worried about because sometimes they'll lure you in and then
- 13:12Speaker 1: be like, hey, so Morgan Wallin, you know what I
- 13:15Speaker 1: do now? New trick to anybody who is ever in
- 13:18Speaker 1: a situation where someone's interviewing you or you Eddie asked
- 13:22Speaker 1: me a question. Let's make up a scenario. Philip Johnson, say,
- 13:26Speaker 1: Philip Johnson he rumored to have done some really bad things. Yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: but only ask that question after he asked me a
- 13:32Speaker 1: music question. So right, everybody, I'm on entertainment tonight. I'm
- 13:35Speaker 1: doing a thing. Oh, thanks for having me. What's up?
- 13:37Speaker 3: Yeah, bones, what's your favorite song right now?
- 13:41Speaker 1: I like the co Wetzel song high Road really good.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And he just played on the show. Like him and
- 13:44Speaker 1: I have become, you know, not great friends, but we're
- 13:46Speaker 1: pretty good friends. Good guy, really good singer.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Jim Jonson was his name? I forgot. Yeah, yeah, tell
- 13:52Speaker 3: me about what's going on with Jim Johnson. I mean
- 13:54Speaker 3: he's gotten some trouble lately. Like, what's your whole thought
- 13:57Speaker 3: about that? All that? Okay, So.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I will just stare. I will say nothing, because they
- 14:06Speaker 1: can use nothing if you give them anything, especially if
- 14:10Speaker 1: they don't tell me it's happening. If I know, like, hey,
- 14:13Speaker 1: we're going to ask you about this, and then I
- 14:14Speaker 1: still agree to do it, I'm fine to answer whatever
- 14:16Speaker 1: question you want, or even if I have a great
- 14:18Speaker 1: answer for it. But they try to sneak attack me
- 14:19Speaker 1: with something, so then get a headline or a click.
- 14:21Speaker 1: That is what I do, and you just stare. Dude,
- 14:23Speaker 1: I just look at it and I don't go. I
- 14:25Speaker 1: can't hear you. I will just hold the gaze.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Do you hold without blinking?
- 14:31Speaker 1: Like do you stare out games like a sorry, you
- 14:34Speaker 1: must have not have heard me, I said Jim Johnson.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder if they'd say that. They'd say that,
- 14:39Speaker 3: and that looks like our signal may be off.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Bobby.
- 14:42Speaker 3: We can't hear what you're saying.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Bobby, are you okay?
- 14:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm good.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I'm good, okay, Wow, okay, moving on.
- 14:51Speaker 1: If you give them nothing, they can use nothing.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Wow.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I also don't do written interviews anymore because there's no
- 14:58Speaker 1: tone for nuance. They can really slice and dice it
- 15:02Speaker 1: however they want. There are times I'd write things and
- 15:04Speaker 1: they I'd see it. Well, man, I said that, but
- 15:07Speaker 1: I was joking like it's a tone, and it's so
- 15:11Speaker 1: with him. We have we definitely have a style, and
- 15:13Speaker 1: I think it took him a second to get our
- 15:15Speaker 1: style and then he was awesome. Oh yeah, But at
- 15:17Speaker 1: first they think it was like, what.
- 15:19Speaker 4: The he he left the guard down a little bit
- 15:21Speaker 4: and you're like, yes.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Yes, the guard definitely came down a couple other things here.
- 15:26Speaker 3: And that's when we got in with an age question.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Ekidding, you're so young, so what's like, how'd you do it?
- 15:35Speaker 1: So Eddie said about the Cowboys or is that over
- 15:37Speaker 1: what sad means? Oh?
- 15:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not sad anymore. I mean the game was
- 15:42Speaker 3: very like, very rollercoaster rid ish, and I couldn't believe
- 15:46Speaker 3: what was happening. And then when it ended the way
- 15:49Speaker 3: it did, I was like, well, that's of course that's
- 15:51Speaker 3: how it ends. Like that's how the Cowboys do things.
- 15:54Speaker 1: We'll do a quick check in kick off Kevin with
- 15:57Speaker 1: the Patriots.
- 15:57Speaker 8: Sure beautiful, We're having a great season. Drake may is
- 16:01Speaker 8: the man. The only thing and it's pretty big is
- 16:05Speaker 8: Drawed Mayo that I'm questioning. If you watch the games,
- 16:08Speaker 8: you'll see just there's some coaching styles and you're like, dude,
- 16:11Speaker 8: what are you doing? He just kind of looks lost
- 16:12Speaker 8: out there, doesn't show any emotion, which is fine, but
- 16:15Speaker 8: it's like, you got to get in the game and
- 16:16Speaker 8: there's a lot of penalties, a lot of mistakes just
- 16:18Speaker 8: so they look like a badly coach football team.
- 16:22Speaker 1: The no emotion thing is funny because if you're winning,
- 16:24Speaker 1: the no emotion thing is awesome. You're like, nothing affects him.
- 16:26Speaker 1: He's dial Dan.
- 16:27Speaker 7: Yeah, very Belichick.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're Belichick, cool, Yeah, But when you're losing,
- 16:31Speaker 1: it's like he doesn't care. It's the same thing with
- 16:32Speaker 1: the coach with the big personality, Like you love a
- 16:34Speaker 1: guy he's all over the place when you're winning, but
- 16:36Speaker 1: when you're losing, you're like, well, maybe if it's such
- 16:38Speaker 1: an idiot all the time he focused on football.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Mike mg Dan was Rex Ryane with the Jets.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's exactly that. How do you feel about
- 16:44Speaker 1: the Belichick in North Carolina?
- 16:47Speaker 4: It's weird.
- 16:48Speaker 8: I think everyone feels like totally random. I didn't know
- 16:50Speaker 8: about the ties way back in like the forties or
- 16:51Speaker 8: something with his dad dad assistant coach.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Though, yeah, I know what head coach. You hear they
- 16:56Speaker 1: kind of searched for that tie. I don't think that
- 16:57Speaker 1: was one where Belichick was like, I'm really doing this for.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Because you know all about his dad coaching. I believe
- 17:02Speaker 4: Navy or Army one of the two.
- 17:03Speaker 3: You know all about that.
- 17:04Speaker 4: We've heard that for years.
- 17:06Speaker 8: So to me, it's almost like he's just taking this
- 17:09Speaker 8: job for something new, a new challenge for whatever reason.
- 17:11Speaker 8: Then his son's in the college game now, so maybe
- 17:14Speaker 8: or he's definitely gonna bring his son and then maybe
- 17:16Speaker 8: kind of set him up for something. So I think
- 17:18Speaker 8: it's just a new challenge for him. It's kind of
- 17:20Speaker 8: boring to me because it's North Carolina, which is a
- 17:22Speaker 8: basketball school more than anything.
- 17:24Speaker 1: That's why it's fun. But have twenty million bucks to
- 17:26Speaker 1: spend an nil? This story makes me wish I had
- 17:30Speaker 1: a dad, And I'm gonna tell you why, oh yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 1: explain that It's not the only story ever that made
- 17:34Speaker 1: me feel that way, But this story makes me wish
- 17:36Speaker 1: I had a dad because part of the deal with
- 17:39Speaker 1: Belichick taking this job is after two years, his son
- 17:42Speaker 1: is the head coach in waiting. Yeah, so how cool
- 17:45Speaker 1: would that be if my dad was just like he
- 17:46Speaker 1: just showed up now today and he goes, hey, I'm
- 17:48Speaker 1: gonna take the Kent State job. Like why haven't seen
- 17:49Speaker 1: you in forever? Like we have no relationship, but what
- 17:53Speaker 1: he saying, he goes, I'm gonna take Kent state job,
- 17:54Speaker 1: but you can be the head coach in two years.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Let's go, Hello, dad, I love your daddy.
- 17:59Speaker 6: I like you.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah so yeah. So his son, according to reports, is
- 18:03Speaker 1: the head coach in waiting. That was one of the
- 18:05Speaker 1: stipulations after two years. The fact that Belichick had a
- 18:08Speaker 1: four hundred page and I love the word manifesto because
- 18:11Speaker 1: that's usually what unibombers is and murderers. Four hundred page
- 18:15Speaker 1: manifesto on how to run the program and turn it
- 18:18Speaker 1: into an NFL pipeline. Four hundred page and they're getting
- 18:24Speaker 1: a bunch of money like twenty It's like he's not
- 18:26Speaker 1: getting paid. I mean, he's gonna paid a lot for normal,
- 18:27Speaker 1: but ten million bucks a year is not what you
- 18:29Speaker 1: would expect Belichick to make because it's great, it's a
- 18:32Speaker 1: fall time NFL head coach, but the twenty million for
- 18:36Speaker 1: nil is where it's at. He doesn't really need the money.
- 18:38Speaker 8: Imagine being like a kid's parent, like Eddie, your kid
- 18:41Speaker 8: was old enough to get recruited and he walks in
- 18:42Speaker 8: your living room, Like how cool would that be?
- 18:45Speaker 3: Amazing? I mean, we wouldn't look at any other school
- 18:47Speaker 3: you would if you would go to where the most
- 18:49Speaker 3: money was you would, especially if your kid is not
- 18:51Speaker 3: a for sure first rounder.
- 18:53Speaker 1: This is going to be It's really cool to meet
- 18:55Speaker 1: Bill Belichick. And Bill Belichick's gonna go after kids he
- 18:57Speaker 1: thinks he can put in the NFL. There are going
- 18:59Speaker 1: to be some guys the mid but no, you would
- 19:01Speaker 1: go where the most money is. Really, yeah, of course
- 19:04Speaker 1: you have. I feel like my son would be like,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I don't know who this guy is. Whatever, it's fine.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I would be like, mister Belichick, how do you like
- 19:10Speaker 3: your state that you love that part?
- 19:13Speaker 4: Mister Belichick, do you make anything of the whole? Like political?
- 19:16Speaker 4: He hates the NFL politics now and that Ty didn't
- 19:19Speaker 4: want to go back.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Probably always hated the NFL politics, But doesn't he want
- 19:22Speaker 1: to go back and break Shula's record? And he's like
- 19:25Speaker 1: at their teenage, never away.
- 19:27Speaker 4: I think fourteen games, I want to say, whoa I think?
- 19:30Speaker 1: So that was what was the most surprising part to
- 19:32Speaker 1: me was that he didn't go back because you're two
- 19:35Speaker 1: mid seasons away from breaking the record, right, And obviously
- 19:38Speaker 1: that's not the most important thing down because I think
- 19:39Speaker 1: he would have got a job somewhere. Maybe it wasn't
- 19:41Speaker 1: a job he thought he could win eight and six games.
- 19:45Speaker 7: But like Cincinnati might be available for him, You know
- 19:48Speaker 7: what I mean? You think he'd be able to get
- 19:50Speaker 7: the wins with Joe Burrow.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I don't think since that he's going to be available.
- 19:53Speaker 7: You think Zach Taylor is going to stay?
- 19:54Speaker 3: I do, Yeah.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I think they've had a very unfortunate personnel. They'll fire
- 19:58Speaker 1: the DC yeah, god dah.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So the thing with Belichick too is and the oh
- 20:06Speaker 1: just on the money thing. The people are like, man,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I can't believe we're leaving our team. He must not
- 20:12Speaker 1: love people just with darkeets all the time. They must
- 20:14Speaker 1: not love the hog. We don't want people who love
- 20:15Speaker 1: the hog. Hear you, Like, I understand what you're saying
- 20:19Speaker 1: if this is twenty five years ago, But the culture
- 20:25Speaker 1: now is you get to get paid. And if you're
- 20:30Speaker 1: not a for sure NFL prospect, absolutely for sure, and
- 20:33Speaker 1: even the ones that are pretty sure NFL prospects young
- 20:35Speaker 1: are not for sure NFL prospects. If you're not a
- 20:37Speaker 1: for sure NFL prospect, that could be the most money
- 20:40Speaker 1: you ever make in your whole life those four years.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Why you're not going to go to where you can
- 20:44Speaker 1: make the most money you're ever gonna make in your
- 20:46Speaker 1: whole life and set yourself up. It would be irresponsible
- 20:51Speaker 1: not to check the portal every year to see what
- 20:53Speaker 1: you can get. And I hate that people are leaving,
- 20:56Speaker 1: and that part is annoying as a college football fan.
- 20:59Speaker 1: But the rules are the rules, and until they fix it,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I would live that this could be the most money
- 21:06Speaker 1: they ever make in their entire life. And they're supposed
- 21:08Speaker 1: to just like love the hog on the helmet. No,
- 21:12Speaker 1: you get seven hundred thousand dollars because you can go
- 21:14Speaker 1: to Ole Miss and you're getting one fifty at Arkansas.
- 21:19Speaker 1: You supposed to stay because you love the helmet.
- 21:21Speaker 6: No.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Arkansas then needs to figure out a way if, in
- 21:25Speaker 1: their opinion, your worth seven hundred thousand to make seve
- 21:27Speaker 1: hundred thousand. It's always been a business. It's a different
- 21:31Speaker 1: business now. It's a bit more unregulated, but the regulations
- 21:34Speaker 1: are coming. But for people that are like this is
- 21:37Speaker 1: a joke that I thought they said they loved Arkansas,
- 21:40Speaker 1: they loved the hog, or they love being a rebel
- 21:42Speaker 1: they love Yeah, they probably did that year, and I'm
- 21:45Speaker 1: not saying they only did it because of the money,
- 21:46Speaker 1: but they would be irresponsible not to go, and it'd
- 21:50Speaker 1: be like if you had one year contracts here and
- 21:52Speaker 1: you for sure could stay here, and we're like, we
- 21:54Speaker 1: love to you stay here for another year, come back,
- 21:56Speaker 1: same salary, everything, and you never went and checked anywhere
- 21:59Speaker 1: else else? Yeah, to go see am I worth more
- 22:02Speaker 1: somewhere else now? And you can't do that. You have
- 22:06Speaker 1: a contract multi years. I have a contract multi years,
- 22:09Speaker 1: but they don't yet in college.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I love the bones too, I love working for them.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I love the bones on the helmet, on the helmet.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But I would absolutely understand if you at the end
- 22:18Speaker 1: of every of your one year contract, We're like, I
- 22:22Speaker 1: think I'm gonna go and check out. But if you
- 22:24Speaker 1: got in, you probably aren't coming back. But I would
- 22:27Speaker 1: understand if you went somewhere else for more money. That's
- 22:30Speaker 1: that that's capitalism.
- 22:32Speaker 3: So back to like the deciding whether you go to
- 22:35Speaker 3: a school for more money or play for Belichick? Is
- 22:38Speaker 3: their value to playing for Belichick because there will be
- 22:41Speaker 3: eyeballs on you.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Yes, there's value, yes, absolutely, Like.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Say you're not a million dollar prospect, but you are
- 22:47Speaker 3: really really good and people will see you, you will
- 22:50Speaker 3: be a starter, and they will see you you're not
- 22:51Speaker 3: going to know.
- 22:52Speaker 1: You're a starter, first of all, So I would remove that.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Everything you're saying is true, but I would remove the
- 22:57Speaker 1: you're going to be a starter, because if you're going
- 22:59Speaker 1: to every correct you want to the freshman, you're probably
- 23:01Speaker 1: not going to be a starter. They don't even recruit.
- 23:04Speaker 1: How freshmen are being recruited, the five to four even
- 23:08Speaker 1: the three star guys, it's like thirty percent of what
- 23:10Speaker 1: it used to be. They all get recruited, but the
- 23:12Speaker 1: focus now is the portal. Why would you not get
- 23:14Speaker 1: an older guy that's played and has been proven more so,
- 23:16Speaker 1: like the five star guys still go the Underwoods. That
- 23:19Speaker 1: Flip Michigan is in Michigan. Now, those guys still making
- 23:22Speaker 1: tons of money. But you're going, well, he's got to play.
- 23:25Speaker 1: You're paying a bunch of money. He's got to play.
- 23:27Speaker 1: So I've seen stories of high school kids that are like,
- 23:30Speaker 1: I just got moved to my fourth star and I've
- 23:31Speaker 1: had like four schools to reach out, or it's all mids.
- 23:34Speaker 8: Yeah, and you got to think the head coach isn't
- 23:36Speaker 8: necessarily flying to each home anymore. It's someone else on
- 23:39Speaker 8: the staff, a little lower ga, whoever it might be.
- 23:41Speaker 8: Defensive guy instead of Belichick. Now it's going to be
- 23:43Speaker 8: some kid that graduated from North Carolina two years ago.
- 23:45Speaker 1: There is absolutely value. I'm playing for Bill Belichick. If
- 23:48Speaker 1: your goal is to either a diehard North Carolina fan
- 23:53Speaker 1: you'll make a little money because they're gonna pay a
- 23:55Speaker 1: little money, or be you really want to go to
- 23:57Speaker 1: the NFL and you want to get in that system
- 23:59Speaker 1: because he says something like, hey, I believe that if
- 24:02Speaker 1: you're in this system for a couple to few years,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I can develop you to an NFL player like that.
- 24:06Speaker 1: There's value in that if that is what your ultimate
- 24:09Speaker 1: goal is. But also the understanding of that goal can
- 24:12Speaker 1: be torn away at any time with an injury, you can.
- 24:15Speaker 1: So there's value, but it's not pure value. It especially
- 24:20Speaker 1: if you're a highly recruited kid that's gonna get paid.
- 24:23Speaker 1: You should also be getting paid at North Carolina. You
- 24:24Speaker 1: shouldn't just go because you're being compensated in Belichickians whatever
- 24:30Speaker 1: currency that is. But it is gonna help. It's gonna
- 24:32Speaker 1: bring eyeballs to the program. Look at Dean Sanders. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 1: it's awesome for North Carolina.
- 24:36Speaker 8: Yeah, and imagine being a GM in the NFL calling Belichick,
- 24:39Speaker 8: Hey what about this kid?
- 24:40Speaker 4: What do you think? Like, they're not gonna trust anyone
- 24:42Speaker 4: else more than that.
- 24:43Speaker 1: In so many ways, it's gonna help, but it is
- 24:45Speaker 1: not going to be the absolute main deciding factor because
- 24:48Speaker 1: these kids have four years, possibly five to make the
- 24:51Speaker 1: most money that are Cam came raising twelve thirteen years.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Dam I feel like I've seen Yeah, Cam's been flavor
- 24:58Speaker 3: for ten years.
- 24:59Speaker 1: So I do not fault anybody, even players on my
- 25:01Speaker 1: own team that started for leaving. If someone's like, yeah, no, yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 1: he's probably gonna go to All miss that sucks, and
- 25:10Speaker 1: personally can be like that sucks for Meeks. I'm a
- 25:11Speaker 1: razorback fan and I like Luke cause and he was
- 25:13Speaker 1: almost a five star. I was like riding up that
- 25:15Speaker 1: edge number one recruit at Oklahoma. I'd paid him money
- 25:17Speaker 1: to do nil stuff. But if the market is and
- 25:22Speaker 1: the game is every year, you get to reassess your
- 25:24Speaker 1: value and you're not getting the value that you think
- 25:28Speaker 1: you should, and you get value in different ways. You
- 25:29Speaker 1: can just love living in Fatteville. If you're like, your
- 25:32Speaker 1: girlfriend's there, your family's there, maybe you take a less
- 25:35Speaker 1: Sometimes people like in the real world take a little
- 25:37Speaker 1: less money to live somewhere.
- 25:38Speaker 3: They like, stupid question, But do your credits transfer?
- 25:42Speaker 1: Dude?
- 25:43Speaker 5: What do I know?
- 25:44Speaker 1: I'm sure most of it, you know what I mean?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Like that I would assume and all my stuff.
- 25:50Speaker 4: To Stanford.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Probably, all right. Yeah, so the Belichick thinks cool. Yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 1: it's it's cool and as in it's a new like
- 26:00Speaker 1: it's fun to talk about. It'll be interesting to see
- 26:02Speaker 1: what happens. I saw someone making a comparison. It was
- 26:05Speaker 1: like when Nebraska was making a higher many years ago,
- 26:09Speaker 1: there was this new young upstart from a G four
- 26:12Speaker 1: and his name was Urban Meyer, and they didn't choose him. Instead,
- 26:15Speaker 1: they went with Callahan, who had won a Super Bowl.
- 26:18Speaker 1: And now it looks like North Carolina's gonna do the
- 26:20Speaker 1: same thing with Belichick. And I'm like, Callahan and Belichick
- 26:22Speaker 1: are not the same. No, they're not not the same.
- 26:25Speaker 1: So the comparison, it's not even apples to oranges. It's
- 26:29Speaker 1: apples to car tires.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Yeah, so very different.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's fun because it's something cool talk about.
- 26:37Speaker 3: When does Kevin walk in with a UNC show?
- 26:39Speaker 4: Oh good question.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well he's gotta be a bad Yeah, he's
- 26:44Speaker 1: got a family's man.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Eat day of the week. I'm gonna have a different
- 26:48Speaker 4: team on.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So let's talk about the parlay for a second. The
- 26:53Speaker 1: twenty five whistles parlay. We're gonna do NFL this week.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I do you can touch that game?
- 27:02Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like, why you guys can jump
- 27:04Speaker 1: in on this one.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Oh, okay, let's do it.
- 27:07Speaker 1: You can do one. Well, all three of us are
- 27:09Speaker 1: do one. I'm looking at the whole slate here. By
- 27:12Speaker 1: the way, if you want to take the twenty our
- 27:13Speaker 1: Bustles parlay, check out Drafting Sports, but new users use
- 27:16Speaker 1: the code Bobby Sports when you download the app. I
- 27:23Speaker 1: suck at betting NFL. Like I feel confident any week
- 27:28Speaker 1: I can go to college and go fifty five percent
- 27:31Speaker 1: if my life depended on it. I suck at betting NFL.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I'll go first, Chiefs minus four and a half at
- 27:41Speaker 1: the Browns.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Solid.
- 27:44Speaker 1: It feels so solid that's probably stupid, I know, and.
- 27:46Speaker 4: The Chiefs play every game type.
- 27:49Speaker 1: So I'll go Chiefs minus four and a half at
- 27:51Speaker 1: the Browns.
- 27:53Speaker 8: Kevin, Yeah, I'm gonna go our hometown team here. They're
- 27:57Speaker 8: barely hanging on. Bengals are playing well, So Bengals minus
- 27:59Speaker 8: five tip, you're gonna go tight and.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Heck no, dude, like whoa no, trying to make a
- 28:05Speaker 3: lot of smiley faces. Okay, Edward, all right, So we're
- 28:10Speaker 3: just gonna wait till the end of the day. So
- 28:11Speaker 3: we'll watch y'all's game, see if they clear, and then
- 28:13Speaker 3: we will wait for the big one. Seattle man just
- 28:16Speaker 3: always proves us wrong. And they're still plus two and
- 28:19Speaker 3: a half. They're at home against the Packers. I think
- 28:24Speaker 3: we're going Seattle plus two and a half like that one.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Taking a doggy dog.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Let's go baby again.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Take the twenty five whistles Parlay Drafting Sports Book. New
- 28:32Speaker 1: users use the code Bobby Sports one word when you
- 28:35Speaker 1: download the app. Boom, there you go. So now Big
- 28:44Speaker 1: Twelve Coach of the Year at Arizona State, Kenny Dillingham.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Sun Devils were picked finished last at the Big Twelve
- 28:49Speaker 1: heading into the season. Not only did they win the conference,
- 28:52Speaker 1: they also aren't a buy in the first round of
- 28:54Speaker 1: college football playoff. Gotta be super busy, but I know
- 28:57Speaker 1: it was a priority to talk to us. Yeah, he
- 29:00Speaker 1: was rushed in you gotta do this that he was like, guys,
- 29:03Speaker 1: I was right in the middle of an offensive meeting.
- 29:05Speaker 1: We're changing it out, but I want to talk to
- 29:07Speaker 1: you guys. First, we appreciate coach for coming on. This
- 29:10Speaker 1: is awesome. Here he is Coach Kenny Dillingham, coach, thanks
- 29:13Speaker 1: so much for the time. Here's my question for you
- 29:15Speaker 1: to start off. Is there like a local eating establishment
- 29:18Speaker 1: that that's like your place right now that you can
- 29:20Speaker 1: go to?
- 29:21Speaker 5: Uh, there's a lot cold beer and Cheeseburgers is one
- 29:26Speaker 5: of them.
- 29:27Speaker 1: That's the name of it, Cold beer and Cheeseburgers.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Yep.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Is it different to go there now? And that is
- 29:32Speaker 1: why I asked this. Is it different to go there
- 29:34Speaker 1: now as from six months ago?
- 29:37Speaker 5: Even? Well, people are more excited?
- 29:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean like for you, like you probably get
- 29:41Speaker 1: a lot more like hey, coach, right, yeah, you get.
- 29:45Speaker 5: Quite more hellos than you did when you're three and nine.
- 29:48Speaker 5: I'll say that much.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Do you walk around with a sharpie now?
- 29:52Speaker 5: I do not? I do not.
- 29:54Speaker 1: I mean because if I saw you, I'd be like, no,
- 29:57Speaker 1: it's coach, heay sign. I don't even have anything to sign.
- 30:00Speaker 1: The weirdest is and this will happen sometimes with me too,
- 30:02Speaker 1: and they'll be like, hey, will you sign and they
- 30:04Speaker 1: have nothing like my phone or the worst is their
- 30:07Speaker 1: body part? You ever sign a body part?
- 30:08Speaker 3: Coach?
- 30:09Speaker 5: I have not.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Okay, you'll be there soon enough. I got good feeling.
- 30:15Speaker 5: Like you're legendary.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Not yet, you'll be signing body parts like crazy. I
- 30:19Speaker 1: got a great feeling about this coach. Okay, so here's
- 30:22Speaker 1: my real question. You got two teams you could possibly play.
- 30:25Speaker 1: How do you split up the work on scouting both teams?
- 30:29Speaker 1: Do you do you split it amongst your staff or
- 30:32Speaker 1: do you do them both?
- 30:34Speaker 6: Uh? Well, you're do them both in terms of like
- 30:37Speaker 6: overall breakdown. And then for us, we're really doing our
- 30:41Speaker 6: own self scouts. So we're evaluating us and saying what
- 30:44Speaker 6: we need to change in this next week and a half,
- 30:47Speaker 6: and then once we get an opponent, we'll really dive
- 30:50Speaker 6: into the opponent.
- 30:51Speaker 5: Uh. Then, but we're really focused on us here these
- 30:54Speaker 5: next ten days.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Will you find things when you self scout that you're like, man,
- 30:57Speaker 1: if somebody would have just noticed this about us, they
- 30:59Speaker 1: really you would have found a vulnerability one under.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Give me an example, you'll find thing.
- 31:05Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's it's pretty There's some times that you
- 31:09Speaker 6: look up and you're like, dang, Like we've been giving
- 31:11Speaker 6: this away for two weeks.
- 31:13Speaker 5: This is bad.
- 31:15Speaker 1: You ever get one of those? And there was a
- 31:17Speaker 1: story where I forget which quarterback it was, and they
- 31:19Speaker 1: knew whenever his feet were not right beside each other,
- 31:23Speaker 1: when they were one in front of the other, was
- 31:24Speaker 1: going to be a run play. Or you don't, don't
- 31:26Speaker 1: even give me an example, like specifically, but do you
- 31:29Speaker 1: ever see that on film and you're so tipped off
- 31:32Speaker 1: it could be an elbow? It could be and the
- 31:34Speaker 1: whole game you're able to q in on that and
- 31:36Speaker 1: it pays off big time.
- 31:39Speaker 6: Oh, we're in a game this year where we knew
- 31:42Speaker 6: runner pass every single play wow of the opponent, and uh,
- 31:47Speaker 6: every play we knew it based off of some tendency
- 31:49Speaker 6: that we caught watching the tape. And people think self
- 31:53Speaker 6: scout is about like your schemes and what play you're
- 31:56Speaker 6: calling and all that. To me, self scout is about
- 31:59Speaker 6: making sure you're not giving way the tendencies of run pass,
- 32:02Speaker 6: of a guard pulling of those types of things just
- 32:04Speaker 6: as much as is what play you're calling.
- 32:07Speaker 1: A few years ago, I hire two people that I
- 32:09Speaker 1: respected that they don't work with me at all, to
- 32:13Speaker 1: listen to because when the national show and I was like,
- 32:15Speaker 1: listen to it, and if you were to launch a
- 32:16Speaker 1: show against me, how would you beat me? And so
- 32:18Speaker 1: they're not part of an organization, but I paid two
- 32:20Speaker 1: different people. They did not know that I'd hired someone else,
- 32:23Speaker 1: and I was like, give me every vulnerability you can
- 32:26Speaker 1: possibly find, so if someone tries to do what I do,
- 32:29Speaker 1: I've already got it covered. So when you say self scouting,
- 32:32Speaker 1: I'm assuming it's your guys self scouting yourself. But will
- 32:35Speaker 1: you bring in out We'll call it outside counsel to
- 32:37Speaker 1: scout you as well, not as.
- 32:39Speaker 5: Much, to be honest, because that's just not really what
- 32:43Speaker 5: the industry is.
- 32:44Speaker 6: We have some people that are in house that like
- 32:47Speaker 6: we have a defensive guy who coach Gibbs, who's been
- 32:50Speaker 6: a defense coordinator in college football, who works on our
- 32:53Speaker 6: offensive side of the ball, just to do self scout
- 32:56Speaker 6: and stuff like that. So it's almost like an internal audit.
- 33:00Speaker 6: But we don't have somebody outside.
- 33:02Speaker 5: Of the program do that.
- 33:03Speaker 1: No, pretty good I did, though, I just gave it
- 33:04Speaker 1: pretty good. I didn't. I uh huh, he did.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Actually I may call some a few people right now,
- 33:10Speaker 5: you know, I make call some people. Right, we've got
- 33:12Speaker 5: ten days or nine days. They may as well create
- 33:14Speaker 5: a game plan for us and then tell us what
- 33:16Speaker 5: that game plan is.
- 33:17Speaker 1: And if it's somebody that hates you, they'll even try harder.
- 33:20Speaker 1: You know you yeah, liked find somebody from Arizona and
- 33:23Speaker 1: be like, scout me, tell me how we suck, and
- 33:25Speaker 1: then you know they're going to go extra hard.
- 33:26Speaker 5: Coach, that's exactly right. So we may find some people
- 33:31Speaker 5: out there.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Growing up and then coaching there. It there is this.
- 33:37Speaker 1: It's pretty cool, but it's also it can be it
- 33:40Speaker 1: make me a bit nervous. I mean at TCU, we
- 33:42Speaker 1: were hanging out with their basketball coach and you know,
- 33:44Speaker 1: he played ball there and he was an All American
- 33:46Speaker 1: there and he came back to be the head coach there,
- 33:48Speaker 1: and he's like, Hey, there's a thing about coaching where
- 33:50Speaker 1: you're from, because it's awesome when you're winning, but when
- 33:53Speaker 1: you're not, it can be tough because this is like
- 33:56Speaker 1: what you grew up loving and now they cannot love
- 33:59Speaker 1: you back. And again, you're you're new to the situation
- 34:02Speaker 1: here because you're having success and it's not like you've
- 34:04Speaker 1: been there a long time. But is that something that
- 34:06Speaker 1: you weighed when taking the job.
- 34:07Speaker 5: Oh, not really. I just wanted to come home and
- 34:12Speaker 5: do it at the place that I was passionate about.
- 34:15Speaker 5: But that's spot on.
- 34:17Speaker 6: I mean, there's so much more pressure when you want
- 34:20Speaker 6: to be somewhere in this industry because you know, it's.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Like you don't want to fail where you want to be,
- 34:28Speaker 5: Like nobody wants to fail.
- 34:29Speaker 6: But it's even bigger when like you're failing and the
- 34:33Speaker 6: people you're failing are the people that you went to
- 34:35Speaker 6: elementary school with, in middle school with, in college with,
- 34:38Speaker 6: and high school with, and you grew up with their families. Like,
- 34:42Speaker 6: so it's a little bit more I would say personal
- 34:45Speaker 6: when you do it at home.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Do you get a lot of people from like school
- 34:48Speaker 1: that are like, hey, coach, we had friends forever and
- 34:49Speaker 1: they really have them and your friend forever, but you
- 34:51Speaker 1: knew them and now they're like friends again because you're winning.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Yeah, I went into more people that are like, hey,
- 34:58Speaker 5: great to see again. I'm like, he went to what
- 35:03Speaker 5: like middle school together and I think we spoke twice. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:08Speaker 5: great to see you.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I mean it's awesome for me that ends up being cousins,
- 35:12Speaker 1: cousins that I really don't know that I had, and
- 35:14Speaker 1: they're like, Hey, I'm your cousin. I'm from Arkansas, so
- 35:16Speaker 1: we're all related somehow. But they're like, I'm your cousin.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Can I get tickets to something? That's the tough one
- 35:20Speaker 1: for me. I bet growing up where you're playing there
- 35:22Speaker 1: you get that all the time.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Yeah, my mom's from Arkansas, so there you go.
- 35:26Speaker 1: My cousin. I bet she's my cousin. Yeah, yeah, no doubt.
- 35:30Speaker 1: So I like to talk about a few of the
- 35:32Speaker 1: guys that you worked under, because again have relationships with
- 35:35Speaker 1: some of them, like Gus Malason and Gush just went
- 35:37Speaker 1: to Florida State to be the offensive coordinator there, Like
- 35:39Speaker 1: what because Gus a quirky guy? What about Gus? Do
- 35:43Speaker 1: you think you have taken or you learned in that situation?
- 35:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I definitely took. The leadership council.
- 35:48Speaker 6: He had a group of guys that were his leadership
- 35:51Speaker 6: counsel that he would meet with basically weekly and go
- 35:54Speaker 6: through basically the state of the program, what the guys
- 35:57Speaker 6: are thinking, all that type of stuff. Do we need
- 36:00Speaker 6: to practice harder, practice less? This kid's going through problems.
- 36:04Speaker 6: He's just not going to tell you and I really
- 36:07Speaker 6: felt like that allowed him to have a grasp of
- 36:09Speaker 6: his program, the culture of the program at a really
- 36:11Speaker 6: high level. And we've taken that here, and I've taken
- 36:14Speaker 6: a lot of those principles and applied to them.
- 36:16Speaker 1: What about Coach Lanning Coach Landing?
- 36:18Speaker 6: Just the genuine intensity, you know, I've known coach Landing.
- 36:21Speaker 6: Coach Landing came to my wedding, no nonsense. I was
- 36:24Speaker 6: a high school coach, and I took some practice structures
- 36:27Speaker 6: from him from a defensive perspective.
- 36:29Speaker 5: I had only worked for offensive.
- 36:31Speaker 6: Coaches really, so I stole some of his defensive practice
- 36:34Speaker 6: structures and then the intensity of the work and all
- 36:40Speaker 6: aspects of it.
- 36:41Speaker 1: When you're an offensive guy in you roc up at
- 36:44Speaker 1: Oregon and you come down to Arizona State, and again,
- 36:46Speaker 1: like you said, you've been an offensive guy. Is it
- 36:49Speaker 1: a constant? Because I'm sure you're always wanting to develop
- 36:53Speaker 1: and grow offensively, But again you're a little behind defensively
- 36:56Speaker 1: because that hasn't been your specialty. Are you learning defense
- 37:01Speaker 1: as you go? Do you have your guys in to
- 37:03Speaker 1: kind of teach you some of the fundamental things that
- 37:05Speaker 1: maybe you didn't know because you haven't experienced it at
- 37:08Speaker 1: the level that you have offensively, and is that constant.
- 37:11Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a great question. So I definitely learn the
- 37:15Speaker 6: schemes of the schemes. So if you're a good offense coordinator,
- 37:19Speaker 6: you should understand defensive schemes and schematics and how things
- 37:24Speaker 6: fit and how things work and how they should go
- 37:26Speaker 6: together and who should cover what and all that.
- 37:29Speaker 5: It's definitely what the ladder of what you.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Just said, the fundamentals and the techniques and the nuances
- 37:34Speaker 6: of the defense. So in terms of like, oh, I
- 37:37Speaker 6: always thought this defensive end always did blank. Now it's
- 37:41Speaker 6: a reaction based off what the offensive player does. So
- 37:44Speaker 6: I'm learning more of the of the nuances and the
- 37:46Speaker 6: fundamentals from the defense side of the ball. But the schematics,
- 37:50Speaker 6: in my opinion, is ying and yang. When you're talking
- 37:52Speaker 6: offensive and defense. Good coordinators have to know both schematics.
- 37:56Speaker 6: So definitely learning the fundamentals at a higher rate.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Now you've had a year with the innhelmet. Communication thoughts
- 38:02Speaker 1: on it, Yeah.
- 38:04Speaker 5: I love it. I think it's great for the game.
- 38:07Speaker 6: It's great for I mean coaches to be able to
- 38:09Speaker 6: communicate when they feel like they have a tendency on
- 38:11Speaker 6: somebody and they can change a call, you know, with
- 38:14Speaker 6: twenty seconds left in the play clock.
- 38:16Speaker 5: I think it's great, coach.
- 38:18Speaker 3: How many comp tickets do you get for the playoffs game?
- 38:20Speaker 6: Like?
- 38:21Speaker 3: Like, can you invite all your family plus a bunch
- 38:24Speaker 3: of friends?
- 38:25Speaker 1: Uh?
- 38:26Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 38:26Speaker 6: To be honest, I'll be honest. I do football my
- 38:33Speaker 6: life does everything else? Like I would not have lights
- 38:38Speaker 6: that turn on at my house without my wife, So
- 38:43Speaker 6: I just do football. Does she texts my family more
- 38:47Speaker 6: than I text my family in season? Like she's the
- 38:49Speaker 6: one updating people Like I literally would not be a
- 38:53Speaker 6: functional human without her.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, the story is you hurt yourself in high school.
- 38:59Speaker 1: We start coaching high scho Were you good enough as
- 39:01Speaker 1: a high school player, though, to play college ball before
- 39:03Speaker 1: the injury?
- 39:04Speaker 6: Heck?
- 39:05Speaker 1: No, okay you me. Everybody says that, coach, But seriously,
- 39:08Speaker 1: you could all all honesty on the table. You were
- 39:12Speaker 1: not gonna play college ball. You did not think you
- 39:13Speaker 1: could do it?
- 39:15Speaker 6: I mean not, maybe you know, maybe I could have No, No,
- 39:22Speaker 6: I'd be lying. I'm five to nine, I'm an athletic. Uh,
- 39:26Speaker 6: I've had like five knee surgeries now I've torn both
- 39:29Speaker 6: my Betel attendants on my left knee and my right knee,
- 39:32Speaker 6: which supposedly never happens, like I was not meant to play.
- 39:37Speaker 5: I was meant to coach.
- 39:38Speaker 1: You think genetically you just have bad buttell attendance or
- 39:41Speaker 1: do you think you just or do you think you
- 39:42Speaker 1: just walk funny? Because I get the same callouses on
- 39:44Speaker 1: the same side of my feet, because I think I
- 39:46Speaker 1: walk a little funny. Which one is it?
- 39:49Speaker 6: I mean, I think it's both. I don't jeans and
- 39:54Speaker 6: then I just think something's wrong with my knees. I
- 39:57Speaker 6: still go out there and try to hoop and play basketball.
- 40:00Speaker 6: You know all got a mean euro step, but uh whatever.
- 40:03Speaker 6: Once in a while, you know, my buddy just says,
- 40:05Speaker 6: you know, no soup for you, and it gives up.
- 40:08Speaker 1: All right, we have three final questions for you before
- 40:11Speaker 1: the season started. Obviously, you guys are picked last. We've
- 40:15Speaker 1: we've heard that a bunch. Did you know maybe we're
- 40:21Speaker 1: not we're gonna win the conference? I mean, I'm not
- 40:23Speaker 1: saying you knew you'd win the conference, but did you
- 40:25Speaker 1: know you would be better than what they thought you
- 40:26Speaker 1: would be going into the season.
- 40:29Speaker 5: Yes, I knew that. I knew our guys were wired right,
- 40:31Speaker 5: and I knew we had the talent.
- 40:33Speaker 1: What do your players say about you when you're not around?
- 40:37Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 40:38Speaker 5: That's a goofy dude? Man coaches the guy. Now, you
- 40:42Speaker 5: got to keep it real with you. He gonna be
- 40:45Speaker 5: honest with you. But he's a goofy dude, That's what
- 40:47Speaker 5: I think.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I don't know, though, have you used the same speech
- 40:52Speaker 1: at halftime? The motivator or do you even motivate? A
- 40:54Speaker 1: halftime is halftime mostly for let's let's fix scheme things,
- 40:57Speaker 1: let's do uh, let's just correct things.
- 41:00Speaker 5: It changes every halftime, different message.
- 41:03Speaker 3: You know.
- 41:04Speaker 5: A few weeks ago, I was very animated at.
- 41:07Speaker 6: Halftime this last week for the title game, I pretty
- 41:10Speaker 6: much only said one play at a time, earn it
- 41:13Speaker 6: like very calm.
- 41:14Speaker 5: So I really just try to feel the vibe of
- 41:17Speaker 5: the room and go off that.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Do you hate when they have to stop you at
- 41:20Speaker 1: halftime to answer the one question when it's always the
- 41:22Speaker 1: same question.
- 41:24Speaker 5: I actually don't.
- 41:26Speaker 6: I don't mind people, and I mean thirty seconds, like,
- 41:30Speaker 6: is that really going to affect if we win or
- 41:32Speaker 6: lose the football game?
- 41:33Speaker 5: No?
- 41:34Speaker 6: I know other people act like, oh this thirty seconds
- 41:37Speaker 6: is going to be the difference me sprinting into this
- 41:40Speaker 6: locker room.
- 41:42Speaker 5: It's not at all, So I don't mind it.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Ir final one here regarding the twelve teen playoffs, just
- 41:49Speaker 1: your general thoughts. I love it. I think it's the
- 41:50Speaker 1: best thing the college football. The best part about college
- 41:53Speaker 1: football is this and has been the best in the
- 41:55Speaker 1: past fifteen years in my opinion as a coach. Love hate,
- 42:00Speaker 1: I love it.
- 42:00Speaker 5: I mean, I love competition, so this is just another
- 42:05Speaker 5: way to compete.
- 42:06Speaker 6: And you know, it's great to be in there and
- 42:10Speaker 6: in this tournament, in the playoff with some of the
- 42:13Speaker 6: blue bloods throughout the country. And I think that's what's
- 42:17Speaker 6: the most exciting is you get to see Arizona State's
- 42:20Speaker 6: brand and you get to see it with programs that
- 42:23Speaker 6: have been one of the top the top programs in
- 42:25Speaker 6: the country for twenty thirty, forty, fifty, sixty years and
- 42:28Speaker 6: that's exciting.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Well, and also you get a week off, which is great,
- 42:33Speaker 1: but it's four more weeks for some of these teams
- 42:36Speaker 1: if they make it, and we haven't seen that's unprecedented
- 42:39Speaker 1: with the amount of games, and then the weeks to
- 42:42Speaker 1: your players is like take care of yourselves a little
- 42:44Speaker 1: more than you ever have, Like, what are you doing
- 42:45Speaker 1: physically with these guys.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Yeah, we gave them a full week off this week
- 42:49Speaker 6: to get their body and really go home and this
- 42:52Speaker 6: is a remarkable season.
- 42:53Speaker 5: So go home. Let everybody tell you how good you are,
- 42:56Speaker 5: Let everybody patch you on the back and do all
- 42:58Speaker 5: that like good job, believable, unbelievable.
- 43:01Speaker 6: And then when we get back on Sunday, let's get
- 43:04Speaker 6: back to the truth, which is that people think we're
- 43:06Speaker 6: the worst team in the issue of the playoffs, so
- 43:08Speaker 6: we better get back to work unless we want to
- 43:10Speaker 6: prove them right. We better get back to work. So
- 43:13Speaker 6: this week, get your body right, get your mental right,
- 43:16Speaker 6: and then let's show up Sunday. Let's face the harsh
- 43:18Speaker 6: reality that a lot of people think that we still suck,
- 43:22Speaker 6: and we got.
- 43:22Speaker 5: To change that narrative.
- 43:24Speaker 1: No, I think it's a music people think it's a
- 43:26Speaker 1: US suck. I think people think Clemson kind of sucks.
- 43:28Speaker 1: I don't think yes suck. I've watched a bunch of
- 43:30Speaker 1: your games. I think people think it's like, oh, we
- 43:32Speaker 1: didn't expect them to be here. They might kind of suck.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I'm gona keep it real with the coach. I think
- 43:36Speaker 1: most people, because you know you're insulated, most people think,
- 43:38Speaker 1: holy crap, Scaddo is awesome. Wow, look at the offense.
- 43:43Speaker 1: We missed out on a lot of the games because
- 43:44Speaker 1: of what your West Coast time zone.
- 43:46Speaker 3: That hurts.
- 43:46Speaker 1: That hurts for you guys to be to be seen.
- 43:50Speaker 1: But now I think people are starting to go these
- 43:52Speaker 1: guys are actually pretty good and they're kind of fun
- 43:54Speaker 1: to watch and obviously you're out of control, which is hilarious.
- 43:56Speaker 1: I love it. Like when the crowd came on the field,
- 43:59Speaker 1: like I was like, oh, that would be what I
- 44:01Speaker 1: would do too if they came on early. But here's
- 44:03Speaker 1: the one final final question. What is like your favorite
- 44:08Speaker 1: charity or something that you work with? And you'll see
- 44:10Speaker 1: why I'm asking this. What is your favorite charity that
- 44:12Speaker 1: you work with that you're passionate about.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Yeah, the Boys and Girls Club, just because it's fitting
- 44:17Speaker 6: with kind of what I do professionally.
- 44:20Speaker 5: It's just helping people kind of get to where they
- 44:22Speaker 5: didn't think they could get to in life through sport.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Okay, here's what I'm gonna do. I hate Texas. I
- 44:27Speaker 1: mean I wish that the whole would open up right
- 44:30Speaker 1: now and they'd suck in the hole. And I lived
- 44:32Speaker 1: in Austin twelve years. Love Austin. Hate the Longhorns, can't.
- 44:35Speaker 1: That's the worst color I've ever seen in my life.
- 44:37Speaker 1: So I hope they get sucked in a hole time.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Clemson I hate almost as much like those are the
- 44:41Speaker 1: two tens. If you beat either one of them, I'm
- 44:43Speaker 1: gonna give a thousand bucks to the organ to Boys
- 44:45Speaker 1: and Girls Club where you are, just because I'm so
- 44:49Speaker 1: happy you beat them, not Eve because you came on
- 44:50Speaker 1: the show, Because I hate those teams so much it's
- 44:52Speaker 1: gonna be worth it to me to see you beat them.
- 44:54Speaker 1: There you go, that's the deal.
- 44:56Speaker 5: I appreciate it.
- 44:57Speaker 6: And by the way, I'm not going to show my
- 44:58Speaker 6: team the clip of you say good things a minute ago.
- 45:01Speaker 6: I'm gonna keep that out of my presentation.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and here's the bad things.
- 45:05Speaker 6: Man.
- 45:05Speaker 1: You guys are too small, too slow. Nobody believes in you,
- 45:08Speaker 1: and that's what everybody's saying. Yes, all right, perfect, coach.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I appreciate the time rooting for you, and I have
- 45:14Speaker 1: a good next couple of weeks. You devils, all right,
- 45:17Speaker 1: see coach? I saw this online from this account college
- 45:19Speaker 1: sports only. They said, imagine January first of this year,
- 45:22Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. Someone comes up to you. He's like, hey,
- 45:25Speaker 1: come here man. You're like, what's up? This kind of
- 45:27Speaker 1: weird because I'm gonna give you some secrets. You're never
- 45:29Speaker 1: gonna believe this is gonna happen. But get ready. You're like,
- 45:31Speaker 1: all right, And he says, Indiana football they're gonna be good.
- 45:36Speaker 1: They're gonna be in the college football playoff. I'd be like,
- 45:38Speaker 1: bullsh you lie Smu. It's gonna be a tight race
- 45:44Speaker 1: between them in Alabama. That's funny, and the panel is
- 45:49Speaker 1: gonna pick Smu. I'm walking off, Shut up, you idiot. Yes,
- 45:55Speaker 1: Boise State in Arizona State, not only will they be
- 45:57Speaker 1: in the playoffs, but there'll be two of the four eyes.
- 46:00Speaker 3: M that's insane.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Ohio State would have a legislator in their state try
- 46:09Speaker 1: to make flag planting a felony. If you didn't see Yeah,
- 46:15Speaker 1: there's somebody who's like it's like a like a sportsmanship rule.
- 46:19Speaker 1: They're like, no planting flags in the field.
- 46:22Speaker 6: You know.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Even the Ohio State people are like, that makes us
- 46:25Speaker 1: look like such weaner. Yeah this guy, yes, what also
- 46:31Speaker 1: come here, I got more secrets for you. I don't know, man,
- 46:33Speaker 1: the scrap you already told me, I can't believe. But no, no,
- 46:35Speaker 1: come on over. Nick saban is gonna be the funniest
- 46:38Speaker 1: member of College Game Day.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Funny Nick saban Is.
- 46:42Speaker 1: He didn't say anything, trust me on this one. The
- 46:46Speaker 1: two that I think are crazy is and I. Then
- 46:50Speaker 1: you got to kind of be a cultural bal nerd
- 46:52Speaker 1: for it to matter as much. But the fact that
- 46:54Speaker 1: Scott Frost is going back to u CF because he
- 46:57Speaker 1: was at UCF when they won their quote national championship.
- 46:59Speaker 1: They didn't play in the national championship, but they won undefeated.
- 47:03Speaker 1: They claimed the national championship.
- 47:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Then he went to Nebraska tore he played ball
- 47:07Speaker 1: and he was like the prodigal prodigal sons coming home.
- 47:09Speaker 1: They were pumped, yes, and didn't work out, so he
- 47:12Speaker 1: got fired from Nebraska. But now he's going back to UCF,
- 47:15Speaker 1: which is pretty crazy. Scott Frost is going back to
- 47:18Speaker 1: the school that he went to before he could get
- 47:20Speaker 1: to his main school. So it's always weird when someone
- 47:22Speaker 1: goes back. No one of that. Rich Rodriguez going back
- 47:24Speaker 1: to West Virginia, that's wild crazy, same thing rich Rod
- 47:28Speaker 1: killed at West Virginia. Yeah, the Pat White Yes, yeah,
- 47:32Speaker 1: And you'll never believe this, But what's up. I gotta go, man,
- 47:35Speaker 1: I got I gotta get to work. And I got
- 47:36Speaker 1: two more secrets for you, all right, Bill Belichick, Yeah,
- 47:43Speaker 1: he'll be coaching Carolina the Panthers. Wow, that's what North
- 47:47Speaker 1: Carol North Carolina Tar Hills. You're drunk, are you? Okay,
- 47:52Speaker 1: well I'm gonna go ahead and go. Let me give
- 47:54Speaker 1: you one more.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 47:58Speaker 1: There was a team last year that most wanted all
- 48:00Speaker 1: and they were someone say they were cheated. They're gonna
- 48:03Speaker 1: have a big year this year. Not Florida State's gonna
- 48:05Speaker 1: go too and ten because of a dog poop curse? Well,
- 48:11Speaker 1: what's the dog poop curse? A guy will claim he
- 48:13Speaker 1: will eat a cup full of dog crap if they lose,
- 48:16Speaker 1: and will not eat the dog crab, and they will
- 48:18Speaker 1: lose every game after basically the end, and then and
- 48:23Speaker 1: then he walks away. I'll be like, none of that's
- 48:25Speaker 1: happenings exactly that crazy.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Year, Crazy year. I didn't even throw that vand who
- 48:32Speaker 3: was going to be a pretty good team and they
- 48:34Speaker 3: beat Alabama and they beat Alabama.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Which leads to the thing I had loaded up next
- 48:38Speaker 1: SEC coach of the Year coach Clark Lee.
- 48:40Speaker 3: Awesome, that's awesome.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I will clap it up.
- 48:42Speaker 4: That's our guy.
- 48:45Speaker 1: You know your program has been terrible if you go
- 48:47Speaker 1: six and six and only coach of the year. But yeah,
- 48:51Speaker 1: that the first time you be a top five team,
- 48:52Speaker 1: and like, you know, decades, first time to Alabama, decades,
- 48:55Speaker 1: maybe first time ever to be a top five team,
- 48:57Speaker 1: but I know Alabama was like forty years something like that. Yeah,
- 49:00Speaker 1: we love coach Clarkleys the coach of the year.
- 49:03Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 49:04Speaker 1: That's awesome, Super happy for him. And then I was
- 49:07Speaker 1: reading about the Burlsworth Trophy, and so that goes to
- 49:10Speaker 1: the nation's top walk on, who now is not a
- 49:13Speaker 1: walk on, who's a scholarship player, but at one point
- 49:15Speaker 1: he walked on, but it went to Bryce Boucher. I think,
- 49:19Speaker 1: say say his last tame I watching them play Oorgon.
- 49:21Speaker 1: He began his creer as a walk on when coach
- 49:23Speaker 1: Lanning took over the team. He leads the Duck now
- 49:25Speaker 1: with eighty seven tackles and forty five solo tackles. Like
- 49:28Speaker 1: he's like the guy, he's a walk on. Yeah, which
- 49:30Speaker 1: is pretty cool. Baker Mayfield walk on twice.
- 49:33Speaker 8: By the way, Remember when Bryce was in the weight
- 49:34Speaker 8: room when we were there, he was he got drafted
- 49:37Speaker 8: when we were he got the call.
- 49:40Speaker 4: Yeah, he got drafted MLB.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Oh wait that was yeah, that was a call. He
- 49:44Speaker 1: was waiting on the call and he got the call.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Yeah, when we were working out, and he started going crazy, Right,
- 49:46Speaker 4: what's going on?
- 49:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we got drafted.
- 49:48Speaker 4: He's like an outfielder, I think.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Is uh Burls Tropy School? Yeah, uh named after
- 49:56Speaker 1: our Arkansas got Brandon Burlsworth.
- 49:59Speaker 3: I've seen the move the Greater Yeah, graters like pops up.
- 50:03Speaker 3: I've never seen it though. It is it good?
- 50:04Speaker 1: They say it's good. I won't watch it.
- 50:05Speaker 4: I watched it a couple of years ago.
- 50:07Speaker 1: It was good.
- 50:08Speaker 3: I want you watch because I.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Hear from people that like know him, and I've worked
- 50:12Speaker 1: a lot with the Berls, both the foundation and his
- 50:13Speaker 1: brother and stuff, that it is a I think it's
- 50:15Speaker 1: a really good movie, but I think there are some
- 50:18Speaker 1: liberties taking to make it sweet and wholesome. Yeah, Hollywood, Yeah,
- 50:22Speaker 1: and that's great And I'm not hating out at all.
- 50:23Speaker 1: I just I know the story. I mean, walked on,
- 50:26Speaker 1: became an All American, was drafted by the Colts, got
- 50:29Speaker 1: a call wreck and die before Dan, you know, but
- 50:32Speaker 1: was a walk on. But yeah, Baker was a walk
- 50:35Speaker 1: on twice, which is crazy because he walked on it Tech.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't realize that.
- 50:40Speaker 1: And then he moved to Oklahoma. Wasn't even on the
- 50:42Speaker 1: team left Tech just moved there and was like, I'd
- 50:46Speaker 1: like to become play and they were like, are you
- 50:48Speaker 1: even enrolled here?
- 50:50Speaker 3: It's like, Rudy, you don't even come to school here.
- 50:53Speaker 1: It gets on the team, sits behind Kyler, I think
- 50:56Speaker 1: for a year. I think that because they've had so
- 50:58Speaker 1: many in a row, I know. And then we came
- 51:00Speaker 1: back to back and then won a heisman. Yeah, Kyler
- 51:04Speaker 1: on the Heisman, then Baker who walked on twice. Baker
- 51:08Speaker 1: on the Heisman.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, I thought that was cool. Those are the
- 51:12Speaker 1: things I had there. Kaitlyn Clark Win's Athlete of the Year.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Good for her.
- 51:14Speaker 1: She's the greatest athlete, my favorite athlete right now period.
- 51:17Speaker 1: There's not a lot of talk on her because she's
- 51:19Speaker 1: getting good. No, we won't overexpose, but she's awesome and
- 51:24Speaker 1: I hope she crushes it again in a year two
- 51:26Speaker 1: and we'll probably go up there and do some stuff. Oh,
- 51:28Speaker 1: that'll be cool, that'd be cool. The entire college football
- 51:33Speaker 1: team could endo the transfer portal over.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Yeah, what school is that?
- 51:38Speaker 1: Well, McConaughey coaches it.
- 51:39Speaker 3: McConaughey coaches. Oh Marshall. We are Marshall and Marshall. Yeah, yeah,
- 51:45Speaker 3: there we go.
- 51:46Speaker 1: So when the portal opened up, the list of players
- 51:50Speaker 1: that threw their names of the ring, and every school
- 51:52Speaker 1: was all over the place, but Marshall's. They could lose
- 51:55Speaker 1: their entire roster to the portal after losing their coach
- 51:59Speaker 1: twenty four hours to win in the Sunbelt Championship. Basically,
- 52:02Speaker 1: the entire marsh football team is entering the portal. Could
- 52:04Speaker 1: all those guys fall up too? Southern Miss Well, that's
- 52:06Speaker 1: what Signetti had. A bit happened with James Madison, Like
- 52:09Speaker 1: he took a bunch of his guys, but it wasn't
- 52:11Speaker 1: for the same reason because their coach was fired.
- 52:15Speaker 4: Oh was he fired?
- 52:16Speaker 1: I think?
- 52:16Speaker 5: So?
- 52:17Speaker 1: Was he not?
- 52:18Speaker 4: After losing?
- 52:22Speaker 3: Like, how is the whole team?
- 52:23Speaker 1: Maybe everybody can go individually, so the whole team can go.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Yeah I know, but there's gotta be one person and
- 52:28Speaker 3: be like, hey, a d I'll stay here.
- 52:30Speaker 1: With Maybe he wasn't fired. I thought he was fired
- 52:31Speaker 1: and they were all said he left his position. But
- 52:34Speaker 1: to do what though, because if it's like to be.
- 52:37Speaker 8: The coach at Southern Miss the head coach is that
- 52:40Speaker 8: that's kind of a lateral, That's what I'm saying, Like,
- 52:42Speaker 8: I feel like he was told that.
- 52:44Speaker 1: That wasn't a you're getting a promotion type move.
- 52:48Speaker 3: What do I know?
- 52:49Speaker 1: I don't know. Crap, a couple of the final things.
- 52:54Speaker 1: It's take a break, Mike. I got a couple of
- 52:55Speaker 1: things to do. The Emirates NBA Cup is here. You

- 54:00Speaker 2: responsible gaming resources, the DKNG Duck Coastlets b ball.
- 54:10Speaker 1: So there was this side by side of Cam Rising,
- 54:13Speaker 1: who he mentioned earlier, who played many years at Utah.
- 54:15Speaker 1: So it has another season in college.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Oh he's got one.
- 54:19Speaker 1: He got hurt again. That's crazy him and Trevor Lawrence
- 54:22Speaker 1: side by side. So in twenty seventeen, Trevor Lawrence senior
- 54:26Speaker 1: year at Cartersville High School, Cam Rising senior year at
- 54:29Speaker 1: Newbury Park High School. Trevor Lawrence, Cam Rising same year
- 54:34Speaker 1: high school senior.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, that's crazy. So at the same age.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Twenty eighteen, Trevor Lawrence goes to Clemson. Twenty eighteen, Cam
- 54:41Speaker 1: Rising goes to the University of Texas. Wow, twenty nineteen Clemson,
- 54:46Speaker 1: twenty twenty Clemson for Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars. He's been
- 54:50Speaker 1: there for four years, signed a big deal, be there
- 54:53Speaker 1: for many many more. Cam Rising has played at Utah
- 54:55Speaker 1: for one, two, four, five, six, six years. Ever, like
- 55:00Speaker 1: probably another one.
- 55:02Speaker 4: That's insane.
- 55:03Speaker 3: Are they the same age though, or is it kind
- 55:04Speaker 3: of like?
- 55:05Speaker 1: Okay, yes, I mean high school seniors, so I'm sure
- 55:07Speaker 1: they're like six months apart or something.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Well they hold people back now, so okay.
- 55:11Speaker 8: But even one year on the year, Yeah, I would say,
- 55:13Speaker 8: Kim Rising looks forty when he was like twenty.
- 55:15Speaker 1: So and we shall rap with Oh, by the way,
- 55:19Speaker 1: the Simpsons thing wasn't that good.
- 55:20Speaker 3: It was not good.
- 55:21Speaker 4: I didn't watch any of it.
- 55:22Speaker 3: I watched about five minutes of it.
- 55:24Speaker 1: And I love the Simpsons.
- 55:25Speaker 3: I mean, I thought it was cool that Homer through
- 55:27Speaker 3: the past. You know, they're like ceed land, like that's
- 55:29Speaker 3: cool when they do little stuff like that. But even
- 55:31Speaker 3: like my kids were there and they were just like that,
- 55:33Speaker 3: can we go to the real game?
- 55:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't as good as when they did the
- 55:36Speaker 1: like the Toys Story, the Boys story. What was the
- 55:39Speaker 1: other one?
- 55:39Speaker 3: You said, the Slime one?
- 55:41Speaker 1: Oh, that was like an old Yeah that was one. Two.
- 55:43Speaker 1: They had the real that one had real players, right,
- 55:45Speaker 1: but they had the like Nate Burrolson commentating, but they
- 55:48Speaker 1: would do like effects like slime, and so that's cool. Yeah,
- 55:51Speaker 1: So the Toy Story story.
- 55:52Speaker 8: Was like, yeah, I watched a little of that one
- 55:54Speaker 8: like two years ago. Maybe I just love the slinky
- 55:56Speaker 8: as the yard Markers, that was cool.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Had all the characters, that's cool. Has had like randoms,
- 56:01Speaker 1: but then occasionally a Simpsons character and you knew in
- 56:03Speaker 1: the Simps character like when Lisa got in because you
- 56:05Speaker 1: made a heck of a play on the sideline a
- 56:06Speaker 1: one point. How you supposed to know is yeah, like
- 56:10Speaker 1: some of them, you didn't. They weren't like real characters.
- 56:12Speaker 1: They were just like, oh so you knew when like
- 56:14Speaker 1: a real character got in because it was a couple
- 56:15Speaker 1: of minutes behind that player is about to do something.
- 56:18Speaker 4: Oh okay, yeah that ruins it.
- 56:19Speaker 3: I think at one point Ralph was like Micah Parsons.
- 56:23Speaker 1: But it's also like the kids that are enjoying it
- 56:25Speaker 1: are gambling and are upset to this two minutes behind. Right,
- 56:28Speaker 1: It's not like us, we're upset. It's two minutes behind. Yeah,
- 56:32Speaker 1: uh quickly. One game in college Army Navy, that'll be fun.
- 56:38Speaker 1: But NFL preview, because I want to pick one game,
- 56:41Speaker 1: be like this is the one to bet because again
- 56:43Speaker 1: on the parlays, I get a little overwhelmed we're getting it.
- 56:46Speaker 1: The one I'm gonna go heavily on will be the
- 56:48Speaker 1: Chiefs and the Browns. When I put in mind, Chiefs
- 56:50Speaker 1: and Browns play interesting game, fair Bengals of Titans. Bengals,
- 56:54Speaker 1: if they keep winning, Listen, they're they're like six percent
- 56:58Speaker 1: something like that. They have that they don't really have chance,
- 57:00Speaker 1: but they're still mathematically in it. I think Pittsburgh's got
- 57:02Speaker 1: to there's there's gotta be a lot of losing but
- 57:06Speaker 1: it's fun because they score a lot of points, like
- 57:08Speaker 1: the Bengals offense scores. Jamar Chase is awesome, Joe Burrow awesome.
- 57:11Speaker 1: If they were winning, Joe Burrow will be the MVP. Yeah,
- 57:13Speaker 1: because he's killing everybody in every statistical category, throwing mostly
- 57:19Speaker 1: because he has to go. Commanders and Saints don't really care.
- 57:24Speaker 1: But the Commanders need to bounce that game because you
- 57:29Speaker 1: know they started off and it was like, for sure
- 57:32Speaker 1: Rookie of the Year. I'm still I got all my
- 57:34Speaker 1: money on bo Nicks because I put like one hundred
- 57:37Speaker 1: bucks on him when it's like seven grand if he
- 57:38Speaker 1: wins a Rookie of the Year. And so he's not
- 57:41Speaker 1: the favorite. I think he was a second.
- 57:42Speaker 3: Daniels is still the favorite.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Daniels still Nicks.
- 57:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Ravens and Giants nobody cares. Ravens will kill him. Cowboys
- 57:49Speaker 1: and Panthers are interesting because well Panthers favored first time
- 57:52Speaker 1: ever love but skill Bryce Young? Could you imagine hilarious? Well,
- 57:57Speaker 1: they fight with they fire MacArthur.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Immediately after that. What's funny is like you see the
- 58:03Speaker 3: stress of McCarthy now, like the whole season, they'd make
- 58:07Speaker 3: a mistake and McCarthy be like, that's right, that's okay,
- 58:09Speaker 3: that's okay. Now he's throwing F bomb.
- 58:12Speaker 5: I get it.
- 58:13Speaker 4: Mike is walking off.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Jefs and Jaguars is not interesting.
- 58:17Speaker 7: It's interesting for draft get know order and stuff like
- 58:20Speaker 7: that for the Jets, So let's go Jacks for you.
- 58:24Speaker 1: For me, like, what game am I going to be
- 58:27Speaker 1: on on on Sunday ticket if you want to go
- 58:31Speaker 1: to that game?
- 58:32Speaker 3: Prety cheap.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Dolphins technics is a semi intereresting because Dolphins are still
- 58:37Speaker 1: ishy in the mix. Yeah, and Texans they have not
- 58:43Speaker 1: continued the momentum they started with, So I think that's
- 58:45Speaker 1: pretty good. Get both those. The teams didn't win their
- 58:46Speaker 1: game Colt Broncos. That's big for playoffs, it is big. Yeah,
- 58:51Speaker 1: and I think they which team was it? The Bengals
- 58:59Speaker 1: need the Broncos to lose out? Okay, so that's even
- 59:03Speaker 1: big in that because there's not about the four games left. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 59:07Speaker 1: so I think the But I want the Broncos to
- 59:09Speaker 1: win because I need bo Knicks true to hit me
- 59:11Speaker 1: that Rookie of the Year. That's that's a good that's
- 59:13Speaker 1: one we like. That's a fun one. Bills and Lions.
- 59:16Speaker 1: That's a good one. Now we're talking Now we're talking
- 59:19Speaker 1: Steelers and Eagles. Now we're talking Patriots at Cardinals. Oh yeah,
- 59:23Speaker 1: nobody cares. That's Bucks and Chargers mid mid care mid
- 59:30Speaker 1: care and Packers and Seahawks' mid to slightly above mid care. Yeah.
- 59:34Speaker 1: But with the real three games here are the Bills
- 59:37Speaker 1: and the Lions, the Steelers and the Eagles. If I
- 59:42Speaker 1: had to pick one more, I don't know, the Dolphins
- 59:44Speaker 1: and the Texans. Probably because those teams are still kind
- 59:47Speaker 1: of fighting. Both of those teams can make a move
- 59:48Speaker 1: and that would be a big win for either one
- 59:50Speaker 1: of the teams. Yeah, all right, I'm it, I'm it,
- 59:55Speaker 1: and I'm done. Thank you to coach. Coming on.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Do you ever get that Mannaise?
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Oh dude?
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, what's the update on that?
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Great question?
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: Call Kevin? Thanks, bring it back around.

- 1:00:21Speaker 1: at Chipotle, Chicken, and Avo melt a chicken bacon rancher
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: a toasted Frontaga chicken, toasted garden caprizy and some salad greens.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Hey, can we go to this.

- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Hold on finishing.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: He's like, he's not answering.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Okay, he sees the bubble now because I'm riding finishing
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: recording whistles. Edie's about to blow the whistle.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: I'm about to I got it ready and Eddie go
