- 1:38Speaker 3: on in the show. What if I told you that
- 1:40Speaker 3: there was now another candidate on a ballot for governor
- 1:42Speaker 3: in West Virginia. Now we got to work out all
- 1:44Speaker 3: the particulars. But Marshall Wilson from the Constitution Party has
- 1:48Speaker 3: garnered as I understand, that required eight thousand signatures to
- 1:51Speaker 3: be on the ballot for the November general election. We're
- 1:54Speaker 3: going to talk to Marshall about that coming up at
- 1:57Speaker 3: about fifteen to ten to fifteen minutes or so. We've
- 2:00Speaker 3: got some of the things I want to get to
- 2:01Speaker 3: in the news as well. There's going to be a
- 2:04Speaker 3: wide spread training drill in Kadah County today. It starts
- 2:09Speaker 3: about ten o'clock and it's been well publicized. It's been
- 2:11Speaker 3: all over all the news channels here in the valley,
- 2:14Speaker 3: the newspaper, all the websites. We've covered it extensively. But
- 2:18Speaker 3: I promise you when it all starts about ten o'clock
- 2:21Speaker 3: and this is going to be a major, major deal,
- 2:24Speaker 3: you're gonna hear in certain areas, you're gonna hear what
- 2:26Speaker 3: you think is gunfire, and it's like hostage situations and
- 2:29Speaker 3: stuff like that. It's all for training. I promise you,
- 2:32Speaker 3: though somebody's gonna think it's real, even though it's been
- 2:36Speaker 3: out there for months, that this is going to happen.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Your Facebook feed, somebody's gonna say what's going on? And
- 2:42Speaker 3: you know so so well, I'm gonna talk about exactly
- 2:44Speaker 3: what's going to go on a little bit later on. Plus,
- 2:46Speaker 3: as I said, I got several other things I want
- 2:48Speaker 3: to get to as well. Phone calls to the show
- 2:50Speaker 3: or a service of big Ley Piggy Wiggley on Spring Street.

- 2:58Speaker 3: dot com. Welcome to the no I'm a good friend,
- 3:00Speaker 3: Steven Alan Adams from Ogden Newspaper.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Steve A good morning, Good morning, Dave, happy to be
- 3:05Speaker 5: with you today.
- 3:06Speaker 3: What's what's what's new in your world? Goods or better?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yet?
- 3:10Speaker 3: Where are you where you're traveling to?
- 3:12Speaker 5: Oh? Good? That is actually a good question. Actually, if
- 3:16Speaker 5: the rain cooperates, we were going to try a camping
- 3:18Speaker 5: trip over at Somersville Lake over at the Battle Run,
- 3:23Speaker 5: go grab some secrets, Sandwich.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And sob and Fayeville one of my favorite places.
- 3:28Speaker 5: But the rain may probably cancel that camping trip, but
- 3:32Speaker 5: we may just make a day trip anyway.
- 3:34Speaker 3: I say that because you and the lovely Jessica are
- 3:36Speaker 3: always going somewhere, always going some ways. So I had,
- 3:40Speaker 3: as I said to mention, I have Marshall Wilson coming
- 3:42Speaker 3: up a little bit later on this show. Now he's
- 3:43Speaker 3: attempting to be on the ballot as a member of
- 3:45Speaker 3: the Constitution Party. It's difficult sometimes to to cover all
- 3:51Speaker 3: the candidates on all the parties, but there are a
- 3:53Speaker 3: lot and what's your stance on that?
- 3:55Speaker 5: Yeah, look, you got to give respect to anyone who
- 3:58Speaker 5: puts their name on the ballot, taking time, they paid
- 4:01Speaker 5: money to get on the ballot. They in this case,
- 4:04Speaker 5: in the case I asked Marshall Wilson had to go
- 4:06Speaker 5: get signatures to get out the ballot, eight thousand signatures.
- 4:10Speaker 5: But also, I mean it is hard for third parties anyway,
- 4:15Speaker 5: but it's really hard for third parties. In West Virginia.
- 4:17Speaker 5: The Mountain Party candidate for governor whose name escapes me
- 4:20Speaker 5: at the moment, which is the point, he got maybe
- 4:24Speaker 5: just over one percent into twenty twenty general election for governor,
- 4:28Speaker 5: and that was with around eleven thousand votes, like north
- 4:31Speaker 5: of eleven thousand votes. So I mean it's hard as
- 4:36Speaker 5: a reporter to provide everybody equal coverage when the voters
- 4:42Speaker 5: don't provide equal attention themselves to third parties. So I mean,
- 4:46Speaker 5: you got to take that stuff and balance it out.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Like I'll be with a US Senate candidate, former Wheely
- 4:53Speaker 5: mayor Glen Elliott tomorrow in the Parkersburg area. He's a
- 4:56Speaker 5: big candidate, he's got a lot of support, he's even
- 4:58Speaker 5: being somewhat competitive fundraising. But am I going to follow
- 5:03Speaker 5: around the third party candidate. That probably not right, right.
- 5:07Speaker 3: So I want to talk about this Mark Scott resignation
- 5:10Speaker 3: from the Governor's Cabinet last week, and we talked about
- 5:12Speaker 3: it to Brad and I covered it, and I've talked
- 5:14Speaker 3: about it individually as well. I don't think you've been
- 5:16Speaker 3: on to talk about it, though, to talk about what
- 5:21Speaker 3: your feelings overall on the Mark Scott, because this could
- 5:23Speaker 3: be a much bigger story than what's already been put
- 5:26Speaker 3: out there.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Well, for sure, for one thing, I'm a little annoyed
- 5:28Speaker 5: as a reporter because, and I'm sure you've heard these
- 5:30Speaker 5: rumblings too prior to the May fourteen primary, this has
- 5:34Speaker 5: been one of the worst kept secrets. Everyone down here
- 5:37Speaker 5: in Charleston knows about it. There's very few lobbyists I've
- 5:41Speaker 5: talked to who haven't said that they've been approached by
- 5:45Speaker 5: Mark Scott sometimes during state time in regards to donations,
- 5:49Speaker 5: either working on behalf of a candidate a nun named Canada,
- 5:52Speaker 5: or working on behalf of this political action committee, the
- 5:55Speaker 5: super Pack Conservative Policy Action. But none wanted to go
- 5:59Speaker 5: on the record to do it. And it's a very
- 6:01Speaker 5: hard story to prove unless you're pull in phone records,
- 6:04Speaker 5: and if we're doing it on public on their personal phonees,
- 6:07Speaker 5: you're not going to get that. It's a hard thing
- 6:08Speaker 5: to do. I've been aware people brought this to the
- 6:11Speaker 5: Governor's offices. Attention Brian Abraham, chief of staff over there.
- 6:15Speaker 5: I don't know what Straw broke the camel's back to
- 6:18Speaker 5: where they finally approached him. Now, I think about two
- 6:21Speaker 5: weeks ago with this information and then he voluntarily resigned.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Something happened. I don't know if there's another big incident
- 6:28Speaker 5: out there.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Again, let me let me back up. I should have
- 6:30Speaker 3: probably said this at the beginning, in case you haven't
- 6:32Speaker 3: been listening. Mark Scott, Yeah, what is his title with the.
- 6:35Speaker 5: He is the Cabinet Secretary of the Department of administer.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Right, and he has been accused by it by several people. Well,
- 6:41Speaker 3: he definitely is with this pack. I mean that goes
- 6:44Speaker 3: out of Oklahoma. Was it Oklahoma?
- 6:47Speaker 6: Oh?
- 6:47Speaker 5: Well, also that's a good question too, because it's funded
- 6:50Speaker 5: from partially from a pack based out of oklat. Well,
- 6:54Speaker 5: it's got Oklahoma in the name, but the address is Wisconsin.
- 6:56Speaker 5: Explain that to me. I don't know.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Okay, all right, So he were employed by the governor
- 7:01Speaker 3: during the day, and he's been accused of accused being
- 7:05Speaker 3: the keyword of shaking down, talking to negotiating whatever with
- 7:11Speaker 3: people to try to get them funds for the packs,
- 7:15Speaker 3: or to try to connect A with B and whatever,
- 7:17Speaker 3: which is not cool if you're on the clock as
- 7:20Speaker 3: a state government.
- 7:21Speaker 5: And it's specifically what the Governor's office, what the governor
- 7:25Speaker 5: even said during last Thursday's briefing that that was what
- 7:28Speaker 5: he was confronted with. You've been doing these things on
- 7:31Speaker 5: behalf of politic candidates or on behalf of this pack
- 7:34Speaker 5: on state time, and they apparently confronted them with us,
- 7:38Speaker 5: and he said he didn't want to cause any embarrassment
- 7:41Speaker 5: the governor. He thought he was doing everything on the
- 7:42Speaker 5: up and up. This is according to what Brian Abraham
- 7:45Speaker 5: told the governor and that he voluntarily offered his resignation.
- 7:50Speaker 5: They accepted it. So's that's where we are in His
- 7:53Speaker 5: last day is today actually, so we'll see what happens.
- 7:57Speaker 5: But there are other things going on out there. I've
- 8:00Speaker 5: probably got a story coming out this weekend that's looking
- 8:02Speaker 5: into additional issues with this pack and connections to other projects.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Another candidates, possibly the.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Other candidates possibly, so this will be so, and without
- 8:15Speaker 5: revealing anything that's off the record, there are some pending
- 8:18Speaker 5: investigations going on out there, and that's all I'll say
- 8:21Speaker 5: about that. So this is going to probably get worse
- 8:23Speaker 5: before it gets better.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Talking with Stephen Allen Adams from Ogden Newspapers, A Dave
- 8:27Speaker 3: Allen Show and five Any Live presented in part by
- 8:29Speaker 3: General Hardware, Winfield and Milton and General number of Winfield
- 8:32Speaker 3: for all projects big and small shop locally visit General
- 8:35Speaker 3: Hardware WV dot com. So the Governor's got a presser today,
- 8:39Speaker 3: I think was it eleven or so? You think Brad
- 8:43Speaker 3: will be a part of.
- 8:44Speaker 5: It, Brad m I don't think Brad will be a
- 8:48Speaker 5: part of it, and it's got to be. It's a
- 8:50Speaker 5: real shame because Brad has a lot of things I
- 8:52Speaker 5: asked the governor about right now. Brad's been doing some
- 8:55Speaker 5: good work this week. He has stories shut out though
- 8:57Speaker 5: he's been shut out. He has story a couple of
- 8:58Speaker 5: days ago on the release of some leans tax liens
- 9:02Speaker 5: on the Greenbrier, but the addition of others. He's had
- 9:06Speaker 5: another story about the possible liquidation of one of the
- 9:10Speaker 5: holding companies that controls a lot of Governor's cole assets.
- 9:15Speaker 5: That's going on too, and Governor thinks this is fake
- 9:18Speaker 5: news or unfair questions. That's one of the reasons that
- 9:21Speaker 5: they that they gave him the boot. And Governor, I
- 9:26Speaker 5: don't know if you, I hope you listened to Dave Allen.
- 9:30Speaker 5: These are valid questions.
- 9:31Speaker 2: He doesn't.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I promise you valid.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Questions to ask him. They're valid for the number one
- 9:37Speaker 5: reason of only seven of year one hundred and eleven
- 9:40Speaker 5: is businesses are in blind trusts. If you had put
- 9:42Speaker 5: everything in blind trusts and you weren't truly involved with it.
- 9:46Speaker 5: Two of those big loans, the Quarterbank one and this
- 9:49Speaker 5: Green Soul one that's seven hundred million dollar ones or
- 9:51Speaker 5: things that he personally guaranteed during his time as governor.
- 9:55Speaker 5: So he is still involved with his businesses. Maybe not
- 9:57Speaker 5: the minutionhip, but he is still involved. And these are
- 10:00Speaker 5: questions that should be asked. It's fair Brad to ask them.
- 10:02Speaker 5: I've asked them before and I may ask him again
- 10:05Speaker 5: in the future too. Am I going to get banned?
- 10:07Speaker 5: Who's going to get banned next? Or the only people
- 10:09Speaker 5: we're going to allow on these briefings be Charles Young
- 10:12Speaker 5: with West Virginia News and Mark Curtis. WOWK, I mean
- 10:16Speaker 5: that's going to make a very lonely briefing.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I agree with you, and I think
- 10:21Speaker 3: you know Brad. And I'm not just being a company
- 10:23Speaker 3: boy here, but Brad is a consummate professional and has
- 10:26Speaker 3: been well before he came to work for this company too.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Anything shaken on the whole It's been kind of quiet
- 10:33Speaker 3: for a while, the whole baby dog murals controversy. Haven't
- 10:35Speaker 3: heard a whole lot about that.
- 10:37Speaker 5: It's kind of quiet right now. I've had some stories
- 10:40Speaker 5: on a possible lawsuit.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Harvey's all over this.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Harvey Payton I think has at least two clients that
- 10:47Speaker 5: are considering this. Brad had some more details about that,
- 10:50Speaker 5: I think at the end of last week. And thirty
- 10:52Speaker 5: day notice is just to be clear for everyone. If
- 10:54Speaker 5: you're going to sue a state agency, by law, you're
- 10:57Speaker 5: required to give a thirty day notice before you do
- 11:00Speaker 5: so here in Charleston, here in Kennell County Circuit Court,
- 11:03Speaker 5: because that's where those cases are filed. Doesn't mean you're
- 11:05Speaker 5: going to file a lawsuit in thirty days or even
- 11:09Speaker 5: after thirty days but you have to provide that notice.
- 11:12Speaker 5: So even once a thirty day notice, you know, timeframe goes,
- 11:16Speaker 5: they may not file a suit at all, or they
- 11:17Speaker 5: may file one maybe a month later, but they've at
- 11:20Speaker 5: least provided that notice, so it remains to be seen
- 11:22Speaker 5: if they do. I gotta tell you, I think a
- 11:25Speaker 5: lawsuit at this point over it. You're just going to
- 11:28Speaker 5: cost taxpayers more money. I do think it's pretty innoculous.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I mean, nobody even really noticed it until people start
- 11:36Speaker 5: looking at the close ups of the thing.
- 11:37Speaker 3: So I again, again, Stephen though again, and I've had
- 11:40Speaker 3: people that a text to show, and I've had people
- 11:41Speaker 3: that have reached out to me independently. This is not
- 11:44Speaker 3: about a dog in a picture. Yeah, it goes. It's
- 11:46Speaker 3: about the process, which was apparently flagrantly violated very much.
- 11:51Speaker 5: So yeah, yeah, yeah. They operated off of an old
- 11:54Speaker 5: permission nearly a decade older than a decade from the
- 11:58Speaker 5: Capitol Building Commission saying hey, yeah, sure, you can look
- 12:00Speaker 5: for an artist, and then they canceled it because of
- 12:03Speaker 5: the lack of money. And then twelve years later, Andal
- 12:06Speaker 5: Reid Smith revives the project under that original permission, which
- 12:10Speaker 5: only even gave them permission to look for an artist,
- 12:12Speaker 5: didn't give him permission to approve what the artist did,
- 12:16Speaker 5: didn't give them permission to find a company to build
- 12:19Speaker 5: a scaffolding to go up there and install it whatever.
- 12:22Speaker 5: So there's a lot of steps that were missed. The
- 12:25Speaker 5: question is, I mean, do we reverse everything that was
- 12:29Speaker 5: done to this point or do we slap Randa Reid
- 12:33Speaker 5: Smith's hand. I don't know which way to go on that,
- 12:36Speaker 5: but that is something that Harvey Payton and his clients
- 12:38Speaker 5: are trying to figure out.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I do want to ask you one thing before you go,
- 12:41Speaker 3: and it has to do with Senator Mansion. Sure, you
- 12:43Speaker 3: know a couple of weeks ago, you know, it's when
- 12:46Speaker 3: the pressure was really putting being put on President Joe
- 12:49Speaker 3: Biden to back away. And then we had that Sunday,
- 12:53Speaker 3: which was a very interesting Sunday because Joe Mansion was
- 12:57Speaker 3: on all the Sunday morning shows and is saying it
- 13:00Speaker 3: was time, it was time. And then we have the
- 13:04Speaker 3: announcement that Biden is going to step awake. Kamala Harris
- 13:07Speaker 3: is now the presumptive nominee. There was a two or
- 13:11Speaker 3: three hour period there that Joe Manchon his name was
- 13:15Speaker 3: back in back out over everything again, where do you
- 13:19Speaker 3: think and he said absolutely, he's not run for president,
- 13:22Speaker 3: and I think we can pretty much put that the rest.
- 13:23Speaker 3: As you've been saying for some time, what do you think,
- 13:26Speaker 3: Joe Manchin, Senator, Mansion now Independent Joe Manchon, where do
- 13:29Speaker 3: you think his role in the national political scene is
- 13:31Speaker 3: going to be?
- 13:32Speaker 5: Now? Well, right now, his role as being that vaudeville
- 13:35Speaker 5: actor who they send a really long hook out for
- 13:39Speaker 5: because he's been on stage too long and he doesn't
- 13:42Speaker 5: want to go. There's even rumors as of yesterday that
- 13:46Speaker 5: he may be behind the scenes getting signatures to do something,
- 13:50Speaker 5: whether that would be US senator, governor.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Now.
- 13:52Speaker 5: I haven't heard anything from anybody on that, and I've
- 13:55Speaker 5: checked in with the state Democratic Party, see because if
- 13:57Speaker 5: anyone's going to have their ear to the ground for
- 13:59Speaker 5: that sort of thing. No, they haven't heard anything. I
- 14:01Speaker 5: don't think he's going to I think he's struggling trying
- 14:04Speaker 5: to figure out what he wants to do next. He
- 14:05Speaker 5: doesn't really want to leave the political stage. I do
- 14:08Speaker 5: think for a moment he thought there was a chance
- 14:11Speaker 5: he could jump back in.
- 14:12Speaker 3: There's about a two hour time frame there that he
- 14:14Speaker 3: was all about.
- 14:15Speaker 5: It, and then the party quickly quickly count Kamala Harrison.
- 14:19Speaker 5: You could tell he was mad about it. Even his
- 14:21Speaker 5: what he said on the morning shows the next day
- 14:23Speaker 5: on Monday, shifted between one show one show, and even
- 14:26Speaker 5: once he got on Hoppy. I mean he wanted to
- 14:29Speaker 5: do it, he couldn't do it. The party quickly said,
- 14:32Speaker 5: Harris is our person, and I think he's mad about that,
- 14:35Speaker 5: but I don't think he's ready to be done.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Where can people read yourself as.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Fergusburg News and Sentinel, WHEELI Intelligencer, Weird in Daily Times,

- 17:57Speaker 10: How you doing, man, I'm doing great, Dave. Thanks for
- 17:59Speaker 10: this opportunity.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I'm glad I can start your now off with little
- 18:01Speaker 3: chuckle this morning. You thought that you found that interesting,
- 18:04Speaker 3: found that funny? Yes, sir, right, I did, okay expound
- 18:07Speaker 3: upon that.
- 18:07Speaker 10: Well, I mean, as you as you know, I was
- 18:09Speaker 10: a Republican for over thirty years. Ronald Reagan was president
- 18:13Speaker 10: when I was in high school. So when I graduated
- 18:15Speaker 10: high school, I joined the army and sign up to
- 18:19Speaker 10: vote for Ronald Reagan. But I was elected twice as
- 18:23Speaker 10: a delegate for South Berkeley County as a Republican. Halfway
- 18:27Speaker 10: through my second term as a Republican delegate, the Republican
- 18:31Speaker 10: chair of the West Virginia Republican Party called me into
- 18:34Speaker 10: her office screen met me for fifteen minutes, told me
- 18:37Speaker 10: I was a terrible Christian and embarrassment as a representative,
- 18:40Speaker 10: and that the Republican Party of West Virginia doesn't want
- 18:43Speaker 10: people like me. So I am now with the Constitution Party.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Explain what the Constitution Party is?
- 18:49Speaker 10: Well, you know, let me back up two seconds. At
- 18:51Speaker 10: Heart's okay, I like to. So I asked her to
- 18:54Speaker 10: explain what she meant by people like me. I said,
- 18:56Speaker 10: do you mean short guys with big heads? You talked
- 18:58Speaker 10: too much? She literally said, all you do is run
- 19:01Speaker 10: around spouting the Constitution all the time. I said that,
- 19:04Speaker 10: Madam is a stone cold fact. Is that a problem
- 19:06Speaker 10: for you? And she said yes, we can't get anything
- 19:08Speaker 10: done when you're around. I said, outstanding. So I am
- 19:12Speaker 10: now with the Constitution Party. It's a national party. It's
- 19:15Speaker 10: about twenty years old, and here in West Virginia it's
- 19:19Speaker 10: not quite twenty years old. But you've got a hardcore
- 19:22Speaker 10: of very serious, very thoughtful people who have been trying
- 19:26Speaker 10: for a while to get this thing going, and I'm
- 19:28Speaker 10: their first gubernatorial candidate who has actually made it onto
- 19:32Speaker 10: the ballot. And basically, the purpose of the Constitution Party
- 19:37Speaker 10: is to recruit and train and elect candidates who will
- 19:43Speaker 10: actually execute the growths to uphold the Constitution. I spent
- 19:46Speaker 10: twenty years in the infantry doing it as well as
- 19:48Speaker 10: in combat. I spent four years in the House of
- 19:50Speaker 10: Delegates doing it. It got me thrown out of the
- 19:52Speaker 10: Republican Party, and the Constitution Party has chosen me as
- 19:56Speaker 10: there a gubernatorial candidate.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I want to talk about this process to get you
- 20:00Speaker 3: on the ballot because all of that, to all that
- 20:03Speaker 3: stuff that you did in the military with the infantry
- 20:05Speaker 3: and stuff like that, if nothing else, it made well.
- 20:08Speaker 3: And thank you for your service.
- 20:09Speaker 10: By the way, it was an honor to serve it.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Probably you had a lot of a lot of experience
- 20:13Speaker 3: marching and things of that nature, which has really served
- 20:17Speaker 3: you well. Because you had to go out and get
- 20:19Speaker 3: eight thousand signatures on the ballot.
- 20:21Speaker 10: That's a lot, yes, sir, well the actual number was
- 20:24Speaker 10: seven eight and forty three, but you know when I
- 20:27Speaker 10: made my public statements, it was you know, eight thousands.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Around it out of it right.
- 20:30Speaker 10: Of course, now you're probably referring to the fact that
- 20:33Speaker 10: I wore out three pair of boots walking around and
- 20:36Speaker 10: literally wore out three pairs of boots walking around knocking
- 20:38Speaker 10: doors together. The signature is necessary, but frankly, what came
- 20:43Speaker 10: in more handy from my military experience was my time
- 20:45Speaker 10: as an operational and strategic planner. What I was able
- 20:48Speaker 10: to do was bring together disparate people from across the state.
- 20:51Speaker 10: I had nothing to offer them but a vision. I
- 20:53Speaker 10: couldn't pay them. I don't have any money. They're all volunteers.
- 20:56Speaker 10: There is no I have no paid staff. Everyone who
- 20:59Speaker 10: is helping me out is a member of the is
- 21:01Speaker 10: a member of the campaign team, is a West Virginian
- 21:04Speaker 10: who believes in what we're doing. And we've got a
- 21:07Speaker 10: couple of hundred people out there who've been working.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Hard, all volunteers as you see, every.
- 21:11Speaker 10: Single one of them. And what I've been able to
- 21:15Speaker 10: do is what the Army trained me to do, which
- 21:17Speaker 10: is to project a vision so clearly and so compellingly
- 21:21Speaker 10: that people who have no other reason than because they
- 21:24Speaker 10: believe in that vision have given their time, their efforts,
- 21:27Speaker 10: their capability, sometimes their money. Most of them don't have
- 21:30Speaker 10: a lot of money because the people who support me
- 21:32Speaker 10: are not wealthy. And there's a reason for that.
- 21:36Speaker 3: So what's the selling point of this party? I mean
- 21:40Speaker 3: when people went, whether they went door to door, they
- 21:42Speaker 3: set up at a county fair because I know you
- 21:44Speaker 3: did a little bit of everything, whether it's you, whether Marshall,
- 21:48Speaker 3: it's one of your one of your volunteers. What's the
- 21:52Speaker 3: somebody comes up to your table or they answer the door,
- 21:55Speaker 3: and then they look at you and they say, okay,
- 21:56Speaker 3: what's this about. What do you tell them?
- 21:58Speaker 10: Well, it's not about me, it's not about the party.
- 22:01Speaker 10: It's about the message, and the message is very clear.
- 22:04Speaker 10: We hold these truths to be self evident, that all
- 22:06Speaker 10: men are created equal, that they are endowed by their
- 22:08Speaker 10: creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty,
- 22:12Speaker 10: and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights,
- 22:15Speaker 10: governments are instituted among men to secure these rights. Governments
- 22:19Speaker 10: are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the
- 22:22Speaker 10: consent of the government. In other words, the only reason
- 22:24Speaker 10: the government exists is to secure your rights to life, liberty,
- 22:27Speaker 10: and the pursuit of happiness. So if we all can
- 22:30Speaker 10: agree that our job is to ensure that our government
- 22:34Speaker 10: secures the natural rights of our neighbors, even when we disagree,
- 22:37Speaker 10: or maybe especially when we disagree terribly with them about
- 22:40Speaker 10: how they use their natural rights, we can do this.
- 22:45Speaker 10: This is what America is. We are all defending each
- 22:48Speaker 10: other's rights by means of the government. What we have
- 22:51Speaker 10: now is a government that's run by two parties, which
- 22:53Speaker 10: George Washington warned us against in his farewell address very clearly.
- 22:57Speaker 10: He said, this will actually happen. And then it happened,
- 23:00Speaker 10: and we're all sitting there going, wow, how did this
- 23:01Speaker 10: happen the same way George Washington told us it would.
- 23:04Speaker 10: So what we need to do is we the people
- 23:07Speaker 10: need to stand together even when we disagree with each other,
- 23:10Speaker 10: probably mostly when we disagree with each other about the tactical,
- 23:14Speaker 10: the day to day stuff, and we have to agree
- 23:16Speaker 10: on the principles that we're all created equal, which means
- 23:19Speaker 10: we all have the rights to life, liberty, and the
- 23:21Speaker 10: pursuit of happiness, equal standing before the law, equal responsibility
- 23:24Speaker 10: before the law, and that the government exists for no
- 23:26Speaker 10: purpose other than to secure our rights. Now, once we
- 23:30Speaker 10: figure that out and we all agree on that the
- 23:31Speaker 10: government will have no power over us except to secure
- 23:34Speaker 10: our rights.
- 23:35Speaker 3: But dave allan chill and find any line brighte to you.

- 23:56Speaker 3: happens next? You went to you made a visit tomorrow
- 24:00Speaker 3: stomping grounds, the capitol yesterday over with the Secretary of
- 24:02Speaker 3: State's office.
- 24:03Speaker 10: What happens, Well, there was a lot that happened in
- 24:05Speaker 10: between those two.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Okay, all right, go ahead.
- 24:07Speaker 10: What we did was see in twenty twenty, when I
- 24:08Speaker 10: ran as the candidate for the Independent Party of West Virginia,
- 24:11Speaker 10: which is unfortunately defunct now. And a big part of
- 24:14Speaker 10: the reason that it's defunct is what I'm about to
- 24:16Speaker 10: describe to you. We had a lot of our signatures
- 24:19Speaker 10: that were invalidated, and it wasn't because they weren't valid signatures.
- 24:23Speaker 10: It's because the writing on the paper was illegible. Now,
- 24:27Speaker 10: keep in mind that every single signature has to be
- 24:29Speaker 10: an actual physical signature. So, just to give you some context,
- 24:37Speaker 10: can you sign a petition online and have it legally valid? Yes,
- 24:41Speaker 10: there are all kinds of petitions you can sign online.
- 24:43Speaker 10: They're legally valid. This one, no, it has to be
- 24:46Speaker 10: a physical You have to look someone in the eye,
- 24:48Speaker 10: take a piece of paper out of their hand, and
- 24:50Speaker 10: write your name on it. Okay, that sounds fair. But
- 24:54Speaker 10: can you register to vote online?
- 24:55Speaker 3: I mean, yes, you can.
- 24:56Speaker 10: You can. And yet when I asked in twenty twenty,
- 24:59Speaker 10: can we do the petition process online? I was told no,
- 25:01Speaker 10: it's not secure. And I said, oh, well, can I
- 25:04Speaker 10: register to vote online? Well, sure, that's no problem.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Yeah, you can register, change a party, do whatever you
- 25:09Speaker 3: want online.
- 25:09Speaker 10: Fascinating, it's fascinating. Of course. In twenty twenty we were
- 25:13Speaker 10: dealing with COVID and everybody was locked down and Jim
- 25:15Speaker 10: Justice moved the data the primary So all of that
- 25:19Speaker 10: worked against us. But this year we didn't have any
- 25:21Speaker 10: of those problems. But what we also did was we
- 25:23Speaker 10: built a process to ensure that all of the valid
- 25:28Speaker 10: signatures would be recognized as such. And what we did was,
- 25:31Speaker 10: we have a team that receives every single document, maintains
- 25:35Speaker 10: physical security of it, maintains physical custody of it, actually
- 25:41Speaker 10: tracks where it goes, and then what they do is
- 25:44Speaker 10: they look it up on the voter roll, each signature,
- 25:46Speaker 10: each name, they look it up on the voter roll.
- 25:48Speaker 10: And then what they'll do is they build a spreadsheet
- 25:50Speaker 10: that they then staple to the back of those signature
- 25:53Speaker 10: sheets that has each of those names and all of
- 25:55Speaker 10: the valid information that goes along with them. So when
- 25:58Speaker 10: the folks at the county clerk I have to look
- 26:00Speaker 10: them up, all they really have to do is look
- 26:02Speaker 10: and see that we've already copied it out of the
- 26:03Speaker 10: voter rolls, and of course verify that the information game
- 26:06Speaker 10: is correct. But they don't have to sit here and
- 26:08Speaker 10: decipher all the names and the presses and everything. Because
- 26:10Speaker 10: we understood that was one of the problems.
- 26:12Speaker 3: It was It's a very tedious process that I got
- 26:14Speaker 3: tasked with on a couple of things. I getting my time,
- 26:17Speaker 3: and there's no easy way to do it. Back at that,
- 26:19Speaker 3: I mean, because most people start with the signature myself included.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Most people's signature you can't read.
- 26:24Speaker 10: Well, you can't read mind, that's and.
- 26:25Speaker 3: So you've got to look at people and say, okay,
- 26:26Speaker 3: I need you to write this so people can read it.
- 26:29Speaker 3: So where where does it stand now? You went to
- 26:30Speaker 3: the Secretary of State's office yesterday.
- 26:32Speaker 10: We had turned in far more than we were required
- 26:34Speaker 10: to turn in. We're still collecting because we have until
- 26:36Speaker 10: Thursday at five pm to turn in.
- 26:38Speaker 3: But you're already over the threshold, all right, well over it.
- 26:40Speaker 10: So the number we actually needed, as I said before,
- 26:43Speaker 10: is seven eight hundred and forty three. I was telling
- 26:45Speaker 10: people eight thousand, just because it's easier for them to
- 26:47Speaker 10: deal with. And now we're over ninety three hundred and
- 26:51Speaker 10: still gaining signatures, and we'll turn those in. We'll be
- 26:56Speaker 10: at the Capitol on Thursday tomorrow at five pm to
- 26:58Speaker 10: turn those in. But the Secretary of State has until
- 27:02Speaker 10: August nineteenth to validate my actual candidacy. I've already done
- 27:07Speaker 10: the paperwork, I've paid the fee, I've declared my candidacy.
- 27:11Speaker 10: I have no doubt. I don't think that any reasonable
- 27:14Speaker 10: person would have any doubt looking at what we've done.
- 27:17Speaker 10: But we're going to continue collecting. And I'm a little
- 27:20Speaker 10: concerned that our opponents. This happens all over the country
- 27:24Speaker 10: with minor parties, especially the Constitution Party. It's happened a
- 27:27Speaker 10: lot too that what will happen is you'll have a
- 27:30Speaker 10: candidate who actually meets the criteria to be on the ballot,
- 27:33Speaker 10: and then the entire system comes against them, the entire establishment,
- 27:37Speaker 10: and does whatever it takes to kick them off. Usually
- 27:39Speaker 10: it takes the form of engaging them in some sort
- 27:42Speaker 10: of law fair which just prevents them from proving they
- 27:45Speaker 10: should be on the ballot long enough to prevent them
- 27:48Speaker 10: to make the deadline to get printed falling basically, and
- 27:50Speaker 10: they don't even have to win the case. They just
- 27:52Speaker 10: have to stall you long enough to miss the date
- 27:54Speaker 10: for the ballot printing.
- 27:56Speaker 3: So why do you want to do this? I mean,
- 27:58Speaker 3: I know we talked about you know, so your love
- 28:01Speaker 3: and I share that with you with the Constitution, But overall,
- 28:03Speaker 3: I mean, because you know Marshall. With all due respect,
- 28:05Speaker 3: this is an uphill climb. You're going against the establishment,
- 28:10Speaker 3: as you said, you know, Patrick Morrissey's the Republican nominee.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Huntington mayor Steve Williams is the is the Democrat nominee.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Why do you want to do this?
- 28:17Speaker 10: Okay? Well, first of all, you talk about the establishment
- 28:20Speaker 10: and the one thing that people always bring up with
- 28:22Speaker 10: Pat when they say, you know, Marshall, it's going to
- 28:24Speaker 10: be really hard for you to beat him because he's
- 28:26Speaker 10: got a lot of money. And my response is threefold.
- 28:29Speaker 10: First of all, where does that money come from? Secondly,
- 28:32Speaker 10: you realize that when somebody buys your groceries, they own you.
- 28:35Speaker 10: And thirdly, can West Virginian's votes be bought or do
- 28:39Speaker 10: they have to be earned? Because I am earning them.
- 28:41Speaker 10: So that's the first thing. Why do I want to
- 28:43Speaker 10: do this? That answer is twofold. First of all, I
- 28:46Speaker 10: don't This is not something I would choose for myself.
- 28:49Speaker 10: I don't enjoy this. I enjoy meeting West Virginians and
- 28:52Speaker 10: talking about I don't want to be in politics. I
- 28:55Speaker 10: didn't want to be in politics the first time I
- 28:57Speaker 10: ran for delegate, but I ran for delegate for the
- 28:59Speaker 10: same Rea, and I'm running for governor because my family
- 29:02Speaker 10: needs someone in that position who will do the job,
- 29:05Speaker 10: do it right, do with integrity, and do it with
- 29:07Speaker 10: the right vision. There is no one to do it.
- 29:10Speaker 10: That's why I'm here, because somebody has to do it,
- 29:13Speaker 10: and apparently I'm the only guy on the ballot who
- 29:16Speaker 10: actually has that vision.
- 29:18Speaker 3: So what's the next couple of months ago, once you
- 29:20Speaker 3: get by five o'clock tomorrow, what's the next couple of
- 29:22Speaker 3: months going to look like?
- 29:23Speaker 10: Well, I'm going to spend some time with my family.
- 29:26Speaker 10: I've got a daughter who lives with us, who's in college.
- 29:28Speaker 10: She's going to be going back to college in a
- 29:29Speaker 10: couple of weeks. I have not spent nearly enough time
- 29:33Speaker 10: with her this summer. She deserves better. And then, of course,
- 29:38Speaker 10: my wife and the two kids who still live with us,
- 29:40Speaker 10: the eighteen year old twins, they deserve more of my time.
- 29:43Speaker 10: So I think we're going to go to the beach
- 29:45Speaker 10: for a couple of days, and then when we come back,
- 29:46Speaker 10: I'm going to take off fronting harder and faster than
- 29:48Speaker 10: I ever have before.
- 29:49Speaker 3: And when you go out on the campaign trail, your
- 29:53Speaker 3: message to the voters is going to be pretty much
- 29:55Speaker 3: what it was when you were collecting the signatures.
- 29:58Speaker 10: And the same thing it was when I ran for
- 30:00Speaker 10: Deli at the first time. I will take a bullet
- 30:01Speaker 10: to the face to secure your natural rights because if
- 30:04Speaker 10: you are not free, my kids can't be free. It's
- 30:06Speaker 10: that simple.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Marshall Wilson. You have a website, you got Facebook, you
- 30:10Speaker 3: got something. I know you're on twitters or x is

- 38:33Speaker 10: Don't know what that they do.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I don't know that they do. Although some of the
- 38:40Speaker 3: I will say this, some of the things that former
- 38:42Speaker 3: president and Republican nominee for president now Donald Trump has said.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Some of the things that he has said don't exactly
- 38:50Speaker 3: ring of democracy. If elected again, out again with Trump,
- 38:54Speaker 3: you're dealing with a lot of hyperbole, and sometimes he
- 38:57Speaker 3: says things that he doesn't really mean or he doesn't
- 38:59Speaker 3: mean them literally. Doesn't make him any less dangerous in
- 39:03Speaker 3: my opinion the statements. But yeah, some of the things
- 39:06Speaker 3: he said that if he's elected again have kind of
- 39:10Speaker 3: caused me pause. But you know where I stand on that.
- 39:14Speaker 3: I'm going to go ahead and get this out there
- 39:16Speaker 3: right now. And We've talked about it both on air
- 39:19Speaker 3: and online. All three local television stations have reported it.
- 39:23Speaker 3: It's been in the paper. But starting in just around
- 39:28Speaker 3: let me see, about thirteen minutes or so from now,
- 39:31Speaker 3: over one hundred first responders here in the Kanal Valley
- 39:36Speaker 3: are going to be taking part in a training exercise.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Professors from LSU and others are also involved. They've been
- 39:44Speaker 3: actually here training for a while, but it is going
- 39:47Speaker 3: to wrap up today. Now there's going to be emergency
- 39:52Speaker 3: drills having to do with chemical and biological explosives. The
- 39:57Speaker 3: drill is going to fake some mass mass casualties. It
- 40:02Speaker 3: will be at West Virginia State and the the Shawnee
- 40:05Speaker 3: Sports Complex, and it will involve WVU Medicine, Thomas Hospital,
- 40:09Speaker 3: and some others. This thing is going to be pretty intense,
- 40:14Speaker 3: with command centers set up so on and so forth.
- 40:18Speaker 3: You're gonna hear gunfire in those areas and you're gonna
- 40:22Speaker 3: see a whole lot of smoke. So to just know this,
- 40:25Speaker 3: be prepared for it. It has been well publicized for
- 40:29Speaker 3: weeks and I'm talking about it now. Jeff Jenkins has
- 40:32Speaker 3: a story posted about it a WV Metronews dot com.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Just want to make sure you know what's happening, because
- 40:38Speaker 3: let me give you a prediction, folks, of what's gonna happen.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Once it starts around ten o'clock. The post will start
- 40:47Speaker 3: hitting social media around ten thirty, maybe not maybe ten
- 40:51Speaker 3: to fifteen with people saying what's going on over at
- 40:55Speaker 3: West Virginia State, what's going on at Shawnee. Never bothered
- 41:00Speaker 3: to look into it. Uh, And by the end of
- 41:04Speaker 3: the exercise, you know.
- 41:07Speaker 7: It.
- 41:08Speaker 3: But I know the way social media works, and by
- 41:11Speaker 3: the end of the day it will be a real event.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Not that it's going to be a real event. I'm
- 41:14Speaker 3: saying the perception of it will be a real event.
- 41:16Speaker 3: I'm only saying this just so you know that when
- 41:21Speaker 3: your Facebook feed, when you're supposed to be working, by
- 41:23Speaker 3: the way, your Facebook feed starts exploding about ten fifteen
- 41:27Speaker 3: or ten thirty with people saying, what is going on?
- 41:29Speaker 3: There's a mash. It's all a drill. Been publicized for
- 41:32Speaker 3: some time, but it's going to start at around ten
- 41:35Speaker 3: this morning. So just no, don't take to social media.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Don't believe what you read. It's it's just a drill.
- 41:42Speaker 3: It is is what they used to say. It's a test.

- 45:17Speaker 3: a moment, and not the fun kind. The situation with
- 45:20Speaker 3: the homeless in Morgantown. Now, Hoppy's talked about it a lot,
- 45:24Speaker 3: as has Northern Dave Wilson on his local show and
- 45:26Speaker 3: when he's filled in for Hoppy. And I'm only bringing
- 45:28Speaker 3: it up because Charleston has certainly a city that's dealt
- 45:33Speaker 3: a lot with a homeless issue. Lead's story this Morning,
- 45:36Speaker 3: wv Metronews dot com. Last night, Morgantown City Council voted
- 45:41Speaker 3: four to three to consider a proposed ordinance to ban
- 45:45Speaker 3: camping on public property. Now they are going to continue
- 45:49Speaker 3: to study it, I understand, but the proposal would implement
- 45:54Speaker 3: a fine for anyone camping on city property without proper
- 45:58Speaker 3: permits camping on any each park, trail, public property within
- 46:03Speaker 3: city limits, it would be outlawed. Fines could be up
- 46:06Speaker 3: to five hundred dollars for the first offense and possible
- 46:09Speaker 3: jail time for the second. Again, problems this is in Morgantown,
- 46:13Speaker 3: problems that both the administrations of Danny Jones and Amy
- 46:16Speaker 3: Goodwin have been faced with here in Charleston. It is
- 46:19Speaker 3: bad in Morgantown now, very bad. People aren't even trying
- 46:24Speaker 3: to hide the open drug use on the streets, public
- 46:28Speaker 3: defecation and such and such. We've seen that in Charleston too,
- 46:31Speaker 3: But apparently, from what my people in Morgantown tell me
- 46:34Speaker 3: and what I've personally seen when I've been there, Charleston
- 46:37Speaker 3: can't hold a candle to the problems going on in
- 46:39Speaker 3: Morgantown right now. So you got to do something, Yay,

- 47:11Speaker 3: You know, I have been doing this show for four
- 47:13Speaker 3: years now, and I'm kind of an open book. I
- 47:15Speaker 3: talk a lot about my personal life and love of
- 47:18Speaker 3: food and things of that nature. But I'm going to
- 47:20Speaker 3: share something with you now that not a lot of

- 47:53Speaker 3: and I switched parties on the same day, and I
- 47:56Speaker 3: swear to you it was totally one hundred percent coincidence,
- 47:59Speaker 3: and I struggled with this lot. I'm gonna give you
- 48:02Speaker 3: a quick history of my party registration. Okay, I was
- 48:04Speaker 3: originally a Democrat, registered as a Democrat in my first
- 48:07Speaker 3: year of eligibility in nineteen eighty eight. I registered Democrat
- 48:10Speaker 3: because I'm from Logan County and at that time one
- 48:13Speaker 3: of the nineties and two thousands, there were no Republicans
- 48:15Speaker 3: to vote for in Logan County, so everyone was a Democrat.
- 48:18Speaker 3: But I was always conservative, especially on economic issues, gun rights,
- 48:22Speaker 3: ce and social issues, not so much on social issues,
- 48:25Speaker 3: I should say. I moved to Putnam County in twenty fourteen.
- 48:30Speaker 3: At that time I was working on some political campaigns
- 48:32Speaker 3: on the state level, and in Putnam County it was
- 48:36Speaker 3: exact opposite. There were basically in our no Democrats. Everything
- 48:40Speaker 3: was Republican. So I switched to Republican because I felt
- 48:44Speaker 3: it more allied with my value system. And I started
- 48:47Speaker 3: seeing some changes in the National Democratic Party that I
- 48:51Speaker 3: simply didn't like, so I switched to Republicans, and Republicans
- 48:54Speaker 3: still firmly controlled Putnham County. They're all wonderful people, by
- 48:57Speaker 3: the way, and I do want to say my decision
- 49:00Speaker 3: to switch parties had zero, absolutely nothing to do with
- 49:04Speaker 3: anyone personally in Putnam county or even within the state
- 49:08Speaker 3: Republican Party. They're all good people. I've also said in
- 49:13Speaker 3: the past that I voted for Trump in twenty sixteen
- 49:15Speaker 3: and twenty twenty, but I started to see a change
- 49:18Speaker 3: in people and their views of Trump, and you saw
- 49:21Speaker 3: it into May primaries for governor and Senate. I'm more Trump. No, no,
- 49:25Speaker 3: i am more Trump. And as for Trump, I never
- 49:29Speaker 3: liked the guy, but I saw him as a better
- 49:31Speaker 3: alternative to Hillary Clinton and later Joe Biden. But again,
- 49:37Speaker 3: twenty twenty happened. Trump lost the election. I wasn't happy
- 49:40Speaker 3: about it on election night, but I accepted it. Then
- 49:43Speaker 3: I saw what happen on January sixth, knowing that Trump
- 49:46Speaker 3: at any time could have said one or two sentences
- 49:48Speaker 3: and could have been the end of the entire thing
- 49:50Speaker 3: on January sixth, but chose not to because for Trump,
- 49:55Speaker 3: it's all about ego and it's all about him, and
- 49:58Speaker 3: it was well before he ever got into po politics
- 50:00Speaker 3: and it continues to be. And I just simply a
- 50:02Speaker 3: couple of months ago, looked at myself in the mirror,
- 50:04Speaker 3: and this was when Joe Biden was still on the running,
- 50:06Speaker 3: and said I can't do this.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Anymore.
- 50:09Speaker 3: I can no longer be a part of a party
- 50:12Speaker 3: that in effect worships this guy as a god, which
- 50:16Speaker 3: many people do. I'm out now. Does that mean I'm
- 50:20Speaker 3: going to vote for Kamala Harris. I think I've made
- 50:22Speaker 3: my stance on the choices we have very very clear.
- 50:28Speaker 3: I'm glad that Joe Biden got out of the race.
- 50:30Speaker 10: He needed to.
- 50:31Speaker 3: God bless him for all of his service, but it
- 50:33Speaker 3: was time to go. I could not vote for him.
- 50:35Speaker 3: I cannot vote for Kamala Harris and can't vote for
- 50:38Speaker 3: Donald Trump. So again, I don't know what I'm going
- 50:42Speaker 3: to be doing. I just can no longer do it.
- 50:48Speaker 3: And I will say this, I will wager I will
- 50:50Speaker 3: still vote Republican in every other race ninety nine point
- 50:54Speaker 3: nine nine nine percent of the time because most of
- 50:56Speaker 3: the ideals of theirs aligned with mine, particularly as I said, economy, guns, military, energy, etc.
- 51:02Speaker 3: I differ from them on other issues, like social issues,
- 51:06Speaker 3: because I simply don't care what people do. It's none
- 51:09Speaker 3: of my business. And you sleep with it's none of
- 51:11Speaker 3: my business what you do. What's between you and your doctor,
- 51:13Speaker 3: that's none of my business. I am pro life for me,
- 51:17Speaker 3: but I'm pro choice for you. I can't make that
- 51:19Speaker 3: decision for you. So this happened in early June. I
- 51:23Speaker 3: didn't know what I was going to make a big
- 51:24Speaker 3: deal about it, but I decided I did squead and
- 51:26Speaker 3: throw it out there. So now it's Dave Allan independence.
- 51:30Speaker 10: Now.
- 51:31Speaker 3: I may go back to the Republican Party at some
- 51:34Speaker 3: point if they stopped this blind worship of the altar
- 51:37Speaker 3: of Donald Trump. I looked at the stage at the
- 51:40Speaker 3: Republican debates and thought there were plenty of those people
- 51:42Speaker 3: on that stage that would have done a better job,
- 51:44Speaker 3: but they decided to go at the Party of Trump,
- 51:47Speaker 3: which is now what it's become. I'm out once Trump
- 51:51Speaker 3: is gone, and probably will become a Republican again, but
- 51:54Speaker 3: not till then. All right, I'm gone. My thanks, saw
- 51:58Speaker 3: the guest today and the A train Anthony Harmon. Ave
- 52:00Speaker 3: Wilson coming off a talk line at ten oh six.
