- 0:02Speaker 1: You know how it days, krats, it's running crats. I
- 0:07Speaker 1: am not a big fan of talking other sports on FT.
- 0:11Speaker 1: You know that, right, I know that.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I know I get it.
- 0:15Speaker 1: But big butt, if you bring a World Cup audience
- 0:20Speaker 1: to a baseball game, I will love you and I
- 0:24Speaker 1: will watch your soccer, not your football, your soccer.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yes, it's okay if we call it soccer, because everybody
- 0:31Speaker 2: gets what it is. Yes, you have to be able
- 0:34Speaker 2: to like it's just it's it's so awesome. But hey,
- 0:38Speaker 2: there's nobody in Miami to watch baseball games.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Right, Oh my gosh, the takeover in Miami was incredible.
- 0:49Speaker 1: That was some great video. If you're listening to us
- 0:51Speaker 1: right now, this is now the second viral moment, right,
- 0:54Speaker 1: I didn't miss any Boston and Miami. Yeah, is it Scottish?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Both times I will say I'm not the most tuned in.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I don't know about Miami. I don't know about Miami.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yes, Scottish fans both times. I just got confirmation.
- 1:11Speaker 2: They're fun. They're fun. Makes me want to go to Scotland.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I want to go to Scotland.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Actually makes me think where? Right? So they left Boston,
- 1:19Speaker 1: now they're taking over Miami. Because there's World Cup games
- 1:22Speaker 1: across the country. I'm like, where are the rest of
- 1:25Speaker 1: the countries. Why are you not showing up with your
- 1:28Speaker 1: fanatics and going to one baseball game? Why is it
- 1:32Speaker 1: only the Scots that are this cool?
- 1:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. Maybe they're just the
- 1:36Speaker 2: most voistous, or maybe they have the most media attention.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I feel like other countries. I feel like other countries
- 1:42Speaker 2: get hype, but maybe they're just not hype until the
- 1:44Speaker 2: next round, and the Scottish are like, we're getting hype
- 1:48Speaker 2: the whole time.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to see another fan base go to
- 1:52Speaker 1: a baseball game, like another country's fan base. But I
- 1:57Speaker 1: get it, There's been plenty that probably have done the
- 2:00Speaker 1: Oh I'm in Kansas City. I'll hit a Royals game
- 2:02Speaker 1: and I'll go to the World Cup. But I want
- 2:03Speaker 1: to see like the masses take over. Good stuff. All right,
- 2:09Speaker 1: let's charge let's charge about. Yeah, we'll start nice and
- 2:16Speaker 1: simple here. The Los Angeles Dodgers are just cruising along
- 2:20Speaker 1: and they're the first team to fifty wins. Yeah, yawning,
- 2:23Speaker 1: they are yawning. We usually do something on the first
- 2:26Speaker 1: team to fifty wins, So congratulations to the Dodgers. You
- 2:29Speaker 1: are the first team to fifty wins. At some point,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I thought it could be the Yankees, but they don't
- 2:34Speaker 1: have iron judge, although they're still playing very well. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: thought it could be the Braves, but they've hit a
- 2:40Speaker 1: little hiccup over the past couple weeks. I'm not too concerned,
- 2:43Speaker 1: although they need some starting pitching. The Dodgers, on the
- 2:46Speaker 1: other hand, have plenty of issues, and despite that, they
- 2:51Speaker 1: have fifty wins on the season. Crats, and by issues,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I mean there are quite a few starters there waiting on.
- 2:59Speaker 1: They might I don't even call that an issue. When
- 3:02Speaker 1: Tyler Glass now and Blake Snell pop up in October
- 3:05Speaker 1: and look money like they did last year.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's what they're probably planning on. That's
- 3:09Speaker 2: how they built this roster to win, to win every day,
- 3:13Speaker 2: and even when they're not playing well, Like there's been
- 3:14Speaker 2: spurts where the lineup hasn't done well. There's been spurts
- 3:17Speaker 2: where they were like, who's going to close games for us?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Now that Edwin's down? Like, they just keep figuring it out,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and they figure out in different ways. Robleski comes out
- 3:28Speaker 2: of the out of the bullpen, and is one of
- 3:30Speaker 2: their better starters. Show Hay's been down with a knee
- 3:33Speaker 2: and then he wasn't hitting. Now he is hitting like
- 3:36Speaker 2: it's It's incredible, but I'm not surprised they're first to fifty.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So for example, one of their biggest off offseason acquisitions,
- 3:47Speaker 1: Kyle Tucker, who had the backspasms the other day, turns
- 3:52Speaker 1: out he's not really the difference maker right now. You
- 3:55Speaker 1: could look at that as an issue. Hey, Tucker's not
- 3:58Speaker 1: doing much. He's not even close to his career norms.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Mookie has gone through his struggles at the plate. Right
- 4:05Speaker 1: it's not just the pitching, it's not just who's missing,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and there's plenty that's there. The arm depth on this
- 4:11Speaker 1: team is significant, but some of the big names have
- 4:13Speaker 1: not put up the numbers that you'd expect from them.
- 4:16Speaker 1: You can go the other way too with this. Andy
- 4:18Speaker 1: Pajes is leading the National League outfield vote right now,
- 4:23Speaker 1: leading outfielder for National leaguers, and he's probably the tenth
- 4:29Speaker 1: most known name on the team or most popular. And
- 4:32Speaker 1: for Dodgers fans that are watching, we're not talking about you.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I'm talking about the rest of the world and how
- 4:37Speaker 1: they pay attention to your team. If I say, name
- 4:40Speaker 1: me Dodgers, how far does it take them to get
- 4:42Speaker 1: to pa Haes?
- 4:44Speaker 2: The only way, the only way they the only way
- 4:45Speaker 2: they figure out when pa Haes is on the team
- 4:48Speaker 2: was they weren't watching the World Series last year because
- 4:51Speaker 2: he essentially played himself into a defensive only role, and
- 4:54Speaker 2: now this year he was. He's been leading the he's
- 4:57Speaker 2: been leading the league in different categories. And normally I
- 5:01Speaker 2: don't agree with the fan voting. You know, they get
- 5:03Speaker 2: it right. Majority for him to be number one in
- 5:07Speaker 2: the fan voting for the season he's had is spot on,
- 5:11Speaker 2: and the team just keeps churning. They find different guys
- 5:14Speaker 2: to fill in at different spots, and Andy Payes fans
- 5:18Speaker 2: did not cost the Dodgers two hundred million dollars. Okay,
- 5:22Speaker 2: so hump the brakes. He's doing it, and you know what,
- 5:27Speaker 2: like it's it's cool to see.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You know why you're enjoying this minute because we're happy, Krats,
- 5:34Speaker 1: We're happy because we're wearing mac welding.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yes, I'm six foot five and nobody can give me
- 5:39Speaker 2: tall clothing, but Mack Weldon allows me to have it,
- 5:43Speaker 2: so I don't really have to care about how I look,
- 5:46Speaker 2: and I still look good Because I don't put a
- 5:48Speaker 2: lot of time into what I do to pick out
- 5:50Speaker 2: my clothes. Mac Weldon takes care of it for me.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Classic always in style made from the world's most comfortable
- 5:57Speaker 1: performance materials. Summer gets sweaty, don't let unknown necessary sweat
- 6:00Speaker 1: spots emerge. Mack Weldon's air knit X fabric helps you out.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Their lightest fabric is fused with nylon mesh for maximum airflow.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Skip the midday wardrobe changes the barely. Their feel also
- 6:13Speaker 1: keeps you feeling more dry and fresh. Don't sweat the
- 6:16Speaker 1: heat this summer. Feel as effortlessly cool as you look.
- 6:20Speaker 1: With mack Weldon. Go to Mackweldon dot com and get
- 6:22Speaker 1: twenty percent off your first order of one hundred twenty
- 6:24Speaker 1: five bucks or more with promo code foul. That's m
- 6:27Speaker 1: ack w E L d O N dot com code foul.
- 6:34Speaker 1: What else do we like or don't like or are
- 6:36Speaker 1: concerned about? With this team? I can point to their
- 6:40Speaker 1: results last year. Let's not forget they were a wildcard team.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And if you're a wildcard team, I heard Jed Hoyer
- 6:47Speaker 1: the other day say you shouldn't push your chips in
- 6:49Speaker 1: all the way at the trade deadline. Now, the Dodgers
- 6:53Speaker 1: and no team wants to give up a ton of
- 6:55Speaker 1: prospects at the trade deadline, but that is the cost
- 6:57Speaker 1: of doing business. Andrew Friedman's talked about and guess what
- 7:01Speaker 1: last year he tried to load up the bullpens that
- 7:04Speaker 1: he wouldn't have to overpay at the trade deadline. He
- 7:07Speaker 1: picked up guys like Tanner, Scott and Kirby Yates. And
- 7:09Speaker 1: I know Scott's recovered, but last year Scott was not
- 7:12Speaker 1: good for them, right, Yeah, it's not good for them,
- 7:15Speaker 1: So that plan even backfired. But they still were able
- 7:19Speaker 1: to figure it out and have plenty of barm talent
- 7:21Speaker 1: again through what they built within the organization and other acquisitions,
- 7:24Speaker 1: so this time around. Currently they're on a nice pace.
- 7:28Speaker 1: They of course want to get through the first round
- 7:32Speaker 1: with a bye if possible, But we're just about at
- 7:35Speaker 1: the half season point and they're fifty to twenty nine
- 7:38Speaker 1: on the year. What would concern you?
- 7:43Speaker 2: My concern would be for the rest of the league
- 7:45Speaker 2: that Mookie Bets hasn't had a great year. He hasn't
- 7:49Speaker 2: been healthy the whole year. Freddy Freeman's been good coming on.
- 7:55Speaker 2: As of late, Max Munsey's been off and on the roster.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I think he's leading the team and homers, but I'm
- 8:01Speaker 2: not one hundred percent sure. And Kyle Tucker hasn't done
- 8:04Speaker 2: anything yet. That's what will concern me about the league,
- 8:07Speaker 2: because the league has to figure out how to beat
- 8:10Speaker 2: this team and they have so many ways that they
- 8:13Speaker 2: can beat you, and they aren't hitting on all cylinders.
- 8:15Speaker 2: For this team, I would say, is still the closer role?
- 8:20Speaker 2: What is that closer role gonna look like? I get it.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Edwin's probably gonna come back, He's probably gonna be one
- 8:26Speaker 2: hundred percent healthy. It's just what the Dodgers do. But
- 8:29Speaker 2: can they do what they did last year and hope
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yamamoto comes out in the in Game seven and saves
- 8:37Speaker 2: their bacon? Like, is Rokie gonna shift over to the
- 8:41Speaker 2: bullpen right now? Last year at this time, they were like, well, Robleski,
- 8:45Speaker 2: Justin Robleski will definitely shift to the bullpen. Justin Roblesky
- 8:49Speaker 2: has earned his spot. Justin Robleski's giving them innings, he's
- 8:53Speaker 2: giving them length, he's giving them I mean, it's it's
- 8:57Speaker 2: incredible what he's given them. And I get it. They're
- 8:59Speaker 2: gonna say, well, you know what, he doesn't strike a
- 9:01Speaker 2: lot of guys out, so we want to go with
- 9:02Speaker 2: the higher strikeout guys. But right now I go Yamamoto,
- 9:07Speaker 2: Otani and Robleski as you're one, two, three in the rotation.
- 9:12Speaker 1: So that's what it would look like if the postseason
- 9:15Speaker 1: started tomorrow for you and wait that. So now fast forward.
- 9:19Speaker 1: If let's say the numbers stay the same for everyone,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and the arsenal and the durability everything, like if you
- 9:25Speaker 1: were playing a video game all the meters stayed the
- 9:27Speaker 1: same between now and October, but then Snell and Glass
- 9:31Speaker 1: now came back. You wouldn't have those guys starting games instead.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I would. I would. I mean they automatically
- 9:39Speaker 2: slot in. Obviously I need to see their starts. But
- 9:42Speaker 2: let's say their career norms and what happens is then
- 9:47Speaker 2: I push show Hay all the way back because show
- 9:49Speaker 2: Hey will not cannot, absolutely won't give you two games
- 9:55Speaker 2: per series. That's just I mean, they showed that last year.
- 9:59Speaker 2: They I don't think they want to do that. I
- 10:01Speaker 2: guess he was coming off Tommy John last year. But
- 10:03Speaker 2: to me, I think, you go, you you throw one
- 10:06Speaker 2: of those two guys in there. You throw Blake Snell,
- 10:09Speaker 2: I think, assuming he would get the I would love
- 10:12Speaker 2: to go right left with Snell, and then I would
- 10:15Speaker 2: go back to Glass now and then I would go
- 10:19Speaker 2: to show Hey. And Robleski is exactly where I said
- 10:22Speaker 2: he shouldn't be into the bullpen because then you gotta
- 10:25Speaker 2: go Yamamoto back around for game five and then you
- 10:28Speaker 2: never get to show Hey until game one of the
- 10:30Speaker 2: next series.
- 10:31Speaker 1: So you're saying what they did last year in the
- 10:33Speaker 1: seven gamer in the World series is not ideal, right,
- 10:37Speaker 1: because Otani popped up twice in that series to start.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You don't want that, and because otherwise people are gonna go, oh,
- 10:44Speaker 1: well he did that last year, you're saying, hey, he
- 10:46Speaker 1: didn't perform as well in that second outing. You have
- 10:49Speaker 1: to remember that he's also hitting and running around, and
- 10:52Speaker 1: so the the energy and the energy that you're exerting
- 10:56Speaker 1: in the postseason is heavy, right, stress levels for everything
- 11:01Speaker 1: or high, and then you might run out of gas
- 11:04Speaker 1: even if you're superhuman.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and he is superhuman. But you're talking about I
- 11:11Speaker 2: think show Hay has taken his pitching to the next
- 11:13Speaker 2: level this year. But I promise every pitcher you talk to,
- 11:17Speaker 2: a postseason start is next level exertion. So what Yamamoto
- 11:24Speaker 2: did the fact that he was able to come back
- 11:26Speaker 2: out pitch three times in one series, come back out
- 11:30Speaker 2: after he had just thrown, like, it's it's next level.
- 11:34Speaker 2: You can't expect that from guys. But and I'm not
- 11:37Speaker 2: demeaning Yamamoto at all, Shoe Hay is hitting and running
- 11:40Speaker 2: the bases in between each of his starts, and that
- 11:44Speaker 2: is huge. And so for this team to be able
- 11:47Speaker 2: to push their way through a postseason series, to me,
- 11:52Speaker 2: it's always going to be show Hey not being the
- 11:55Speaker 2: guy that comes up twice in the series and he
- 11:58Speaker 2: doing in a world series. Absolutely anything can happen, just
- 12:01Speaker 2: like everybody's going to say everything's off the table in
- 12:03Speaker 2: Game seven. But if you're planning it, that's how I
- 12:06Speaker 2: see the Dodgers planning it.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Hey, quickly on your closer spot. I mean, let's say
- 12:13Speaker 1: Edwin Diez doesn't bounce back the way he wants to.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Tanner Scott's got a two two five ERA, he just
- 12:18Speaker 1: picked up his tenth save after Monday Nights win. I
- 12:23Speaker 1: think they'd be okay. There, there's there's that bullpen actually
- 12:26Speaker 1: has been shining all year and sometimes that's been the
- 12:28Speaker 1: main problem where they're freaking out in the playoffs, right.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I mean last year the freakout was no. Two years
- 12:35Speaker 1: ago the freakout was the rotation. Yes, So they were
- 12:39Speaker 1: able to figure that out, and to me, that's what
- 12:42Speaker 1: makes Dave Roberts really special in the postseason two. He
- 12:44Speaker 1: did some things that were unconventional in both playoff runs
- 12:48Speaker 1: that I think get overlooked by people nationally because they
- 12:52Speaker 1: just want to look at the Dodgers and say, oh, well,
- 12:54Speaker 1: they they spend the most. Okay, well, the Mets spend
- 12:57Speaker 1: second most. Let me know how that's going for them.
- 13:01Speaker 1: One more I want to point out that has to
- 13:03Speaker 1: do with the front office slicing and dicing, because I've
- 13:06Speaker 1: been i would say, one of the leaders of this
- 13:09Speaker 1: ship for the last month and change. Where was everyone
- 13:14Speaker 1: else on? Eric Lower? And it might sound like I'm
- 13:17Speaker 1: a broken record, but Eric Lower was the bulk guy
- 13:21Speaker 1: in the wind for the Dodgers over the Twins on Monday,
- 13:24Speaker 1: six shutout innings, three walks, two punchouts. His numbers with
- 13:28Speaker 1: the Dodgers now five appearances, A two, five, twenty eight
- 13:31Speaker 1: and a third innings. He cost almost nothing. The Blue
- 13:35Speaker 1: Jays gave him away for peanuts. I don't even know
- 13:38Speaker 1: if they gave them peanuts. Remember, we went over like
- 13:41Speaker 1: the intricacies of what it was like. They basically just
- 13:45Speaker 1: took him on, right, But the Blue Jays paid the
- 13:48Speaker 1: bulk of the money that was due. So he's like
- 13:51Speaker 1: almost a league minimum player and nobody else wanted that.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I mean, maybe nobody else needs a starting pitcher.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Okay, wait wait what?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Like huh?
- 14:03Speaker 1: I just don't understand how they end up with him,
- 14:05Speaker 1: of all teams? How do they end up with him?
- 14:08Speaker 1: When we're watching him and he's incredible last year, he
- 14:12Speaker 1: goes through some bumps this year. Clearly there were issues
- 14:14Speaker 1: going on between role and what was going on there, right,
- 14:16Speaker 1: And he's not the only one that's dealt with that
- 14:18Speaker 1: this year. Our buddy on the Pirates, Majinski, had a
- 14:22Speaker 1: little bit of that going on. So what happens. He
- 14:25Speaker 1: goes to the Dodgers and instantly he's a two zra guy.
- 14:28Speaker 1: What and he can I mean even be a swingman
- 14:30Speaker 1: for them, which he was doing for the Blue Jays.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So it's it's hard for me to fathom that they
- 14:35Speaker 1: ended up with him we got to keep running because
- 14:37Speaker 1: we Yeah, last word again.
- 14:39Speaker 2: No, I was just gonna say. I'll just say it.
- 14:40Speaker 2: It's not hard for me to fathom it. It's hard
- 14:42Speaker 2: for me to hear people whine and complain that the
- 14:44Speaker 2: Dodgers are unfair when they get a guy like this
- 14:47Speaker 2: and he's giving them significant Like.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I wish I could do this is talk to say
- 14:51Speaker 1: ten gms and go, hey, what didn't you like about
- 14:54Speaker 1: Eric Lower? Just curious, like, what didn't you see peripherals? Okay, gotcha,
- 15:00Speaker 1: good to know, crats. Mint Mobile plans still just fifteen

- 16:04Speaker 1: a big way, Krafts. So we gushed on the Dodgers
- 16:08Speaker 1: to start, but there's a clear top four right now
- 16:10Speaker 1: in baseball Yankees on the Ale side, Brewers, Braves, Dodgers
- 16:14Speaker 1: on the National League side. Ten punch outs, six innings
- 16:18Speaker 1: for Big Wu, Brandon Woodriff returning and went perfect through five.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Very economically. That's going to help and the way the
- 16:25Speaker 1: Brewers can slay a team like the Dodgers or even
- 16:29Speaker 1: the Braves in the playoffs will be having a big
- 16:32Speaker 1: three or four. So could it be Woodriff, Kyle Harrison
- 16:36Speaker 1: and the miz bullpen looking good right? Maybe make an
- 16:39Speaker 1: addition at the deadline and ideally make a bat addition,
- 16:44Speaker 1: or all the young kids come up and just thrive
- 16:45Speaker 1: right away, like Keezusmada in company. Can the Brewers do
- 16:49Speaker 1: this if Big Wu looks like that.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I mean, yes they can. It's the same story we
- 16:55Speaker 2: keep hearing, Yes they can. Can Big Wu stay healthy,
- 16:59Speaker 2: cam Big Wu give them enough inning so the bullpen
- 17:01Speaker 2: isn't cash by the end of the season, and the
- 17:05Speaker 2: Brewers hit in every game when they're facing good pitching.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Don't forget Brady Singer had a one hitter while Big
- 17:11Speaker 2: Wu was perfect before this game. So I just I'm
- 17:16Speaker 2: so proud of Big Wu for coming back from what
- 17:18Speaker 2: he came back from and his ability to still get
- 17:21Speaker 2: outs when he wasn't ninety seven to ninety nine. Last night,
- 17:27Speaker 2: he was.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Attacking so efficient it looked like he didn't miss a
- 17:33Speaker 1: beat like he was. I mean, that is vintage Big Wu, right,
- 17:36Speaker 1: just attacking challenging hitters. It's the thing that many pitchers
- 17:41Speaker 1: tell us when we talk to them on this show
- 17:42Speaker 1: that it takes them some time to actually realize, like
- 17:44Speaker 1: how good I am and not dancing around if my
- 17:47Speaker 1: stuff's good, if you're a stuff guy.
- 17:49Speaker 2: He went after and he didn't have his.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Best Stuff, two minutes while TV Isn't Break and two
- 17:56Speaker 1: things to show You. One Reds fans went nuts after
- 17:59Speaker 1: a yes confirmed a strikeout. That was the eleventh k
- 18:02Speaker 1: and it won Reds fans some free pizza. I always
- 18:06Speaker 1: love that stuff. I remember, like long long ago, it
- 18:10Speaker 1: was before Virality, but the Mavericks, the Dallas Mavericks had
- 18:13Speaker 1: this promo and I think it was when they got
- 18:16Speaker 1: to like one hundred points or something like that and
- 18:18Speaker 1: people were losing their minds. It's really like betting, you
- 18:22Speaker 1: cause you're like the team could be down a ton
- 18:24Speaker 1: or up a ton, and then you're rooting for something else.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It's in the same family there. You're betting for a
- 18:29Speaker 1: chance to get a little free pizza. But it's fun.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I love.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I mean, it was definitely one of the most annoying
- 18:35Speaker 2: but amazing things in the minor leagues. You get a
- 18:38Speaker 2: free taco if the taco batter strikes out, and I
- 18:41Speaker 2: mean they could care less. They are chin and you're
- 18:44Speaker 2: the taco batter taco taco and it's for a seventy
- 18:49Speaker 2: nine cent taco, and they loved it. They wanted you
- 18:52Speaker 2: to strike out so badly. They would boo you if
- 18:55Speaker 2: you swung with the first pitch, they would. I'm like, hey,
- 18:58Speaker 2: you know what, if it keeps the fans engaged, everybody
- 19:01Speaker 2: should be some type of batter or there should be
- 19:03Speaker 2: a counting clock. I love it. I said this when
- 19:06Speaker 2: we had abs. This is the kind of electric stuff
- 19:08Speaker 2: that keeps people engaged in the games.
- 19:11Speaker 1: M hmm.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Hey.
- 19:12Speaker 1: The other thing about fans, they love Ernie Clement. He
- 19:16Speaker 1: is the AL vote leader for the All Star Game.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Ernie Clement.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess, I guess sex sells. He's a handsome man.
- 19:27Speaker 1: He's a handsome man. And you know this part. I
- 19:29Speaker 1: like when someone does something so incredible, either in the
- 19:32Speaker 1: second half or in the playoffs, you don't get rewarded
- 19:34Speaker 1: for the All Star Games. So he's getting rewarded. A
- 19:37Speaker 1: year later, I did a couple of things and then
- 19:51Speaker 1: we're gonna get to the College World Series soon too.
- 19:53Speaker 1: But let's start with a team that I think has
- 19:55Speaker 1: College World Series vibes. It's the White Sox walking it off.
- 19:58Speaker 1: They're really good at home. We actually did a fan
- 20:00Speaker 1: question like how do you solve the whole home road
- 20:03Speaker 1: thing with the White Sox? Because I think there I
- 20:06Speaker 1: have just gone off my head here. I think they're
- 20:08Speaker 1: in like the ten game under range. On the road
- 20:11Speaker 1: and at home they are playing nice. It was a
- 20:15Speaker 1: great comeback win for them, and it results in their
- 20:18Speaker 1: third win of the season when they're entering the ninth
- 20:21Speaker 1: inning trailing. The only team that's better than them in
- 20:23Speaker 1: that category is the Cubs, surprisingly have six of those wins.
- 20:26Speaker 1: That's really rare to pull that off. I was surprised
- 20:28Speaker 1: to see them on that list. But the White Sox
- 20:31Speaker 1: are able to pull it off again. So they just
- 20:33Speaker 1: got Kyle teelback. That'll help. I think the offense and
- 20:36Speaker 1: the defense things are. Things are looking good for a
- 20:41Speaker 1: wild card run.
- 20:44Speaker 2: And it's one of those teams that I can't explain
- 20:46Speaker 2: why other than you'd have the added such great energy.
- 20:50Speaker 2: They play together as a family, we're never out of it.
- 20:53Speaker 2: All that stuff has superseded the fact that they don't
- 20:57Speaker 2: have this like superstar on the team, let alone the
- 21:01Speaker 2: fact that they don't have the player that was playing
- 21:03Speaker 2: the best in Maricami. But when you talk about a
- 21:06Speaker 2: guy like Kyle Tile coming back, you say that's an upgrade.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Because of the catching position, they have not been getting much.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Do we know what he's gonna do. Absolutely, we don't
- 21:14Speaker 2: know what he's gonna do, but we know what he
- 21:17Speaker 2: can possibly do. And even when we look at some
- 21:20Speaker 2: of these stats, they're twenty third and average. They are
- 21:24Speaker 2: third in home runs, which everybody loves the homer, so
- 21:27Speaker 2: it shows that you need to hit home runs. They're
- 21:29Speaker 2: pitching doesn't strike a lot of guys out. Their youra
- 21:33Speaker 2: is kind of high. They walk a lot of guys,
- 21:34Speaker 2: so it's like, are they walking a tightrope or are
- 21:37Speaker 2: they a team that plays together and figures out how
- 21:39Speaker 2: to win in the poor American league.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And for the Guardians, they know how important this is.
- 21:46Speaker 1: They don't have Jose Ramirez right now, so they're trying
- 21:48Speaker 1: to tread water. It's weird you rarely have him out.
- 21:51Speaker 1: He's been one of the more durable players, and you
- 21:53Speaker 1: don't have many teams that are this reliant on one
- 21:55Speaker 1: superstar Hall of famer for a long period of time.
- 21:58Speaker 1: They were trying to go six out Cad Smith save
- 22:02Speaker 1: in this one and came up short, of course, with
- 22:04Speaker 1: Antonachi getting first pitch on him in the ninth to
- 22:07Speaker 1: driving a couple of runs. So they were trying, I
- 22:09Speaker 1: mean the White Sox got the classic. I mean to
- 22:12Speaker 1: Cad Smith in this one.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah, how I have no idea? Oh wait, they've used
- 22:19Speaker 2: him a lot. How do you? How do you do it? Like?
- 22:22Speaker 2: How do you beat a team in a series? The
- 22:24Speaker 2: first game of a series? You say, okay, we may
- 22:27Speaker 2: not win this game. How do we get into their bullpen?
- 22:29Speaker 2: Now they blew a lead, which is like, oh man,
- 22:32Speaker 2: like we had Sir Anthony, he blew the save. Now
- 22:38Speaker 2: how do it? Oh wait, Kate Smith's coming back out.
- 22:41Speaker 2: We got to and we saw him. I don't care
- 22:43Speaker 2: how nasty your stuff is. Besides Mariano Rivera, you see
- 22:47Speaker 2: a guy over and over and over and over again.
- 22:49Speaker 2: And we're talking to Craig Kimberl later on. He knows
- 22:52Speaker 2: a little bit about that. In the playoffs and being overused,
- 22:55Speaker 2: you overexpose somebody, even average big league hitters start to
- 23:00Speaker 2: make the adjustment. And you know they were able to
- 23:02Speaker 2: make the adjustment. When my puppy Bella has something wrong,
- 23:10Speaker 2: I'm not going to go around googling what.
- 23:12Speaker 1: To do, Yeah, Kratz, let's have a better plan. Today's
- 23:14Speaker 1: episode is sponsored by the ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Program.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It offers customizable accident and illness plans that can fit
- 23:22Speaker 1: your budget, your lifestyle, and even your pets particular quirks, Because,
- 23:25Speaker 1: let's be honest, VET bills can add up fast. ASPCA

- 23:44Speaker 1: ASPCA Pet Insurance dot Com slash foul. That's ASPCA Pet
- 23:48Speaker 1: Insurance dot Com slash foul. Again, that's ASPCA Pet Insurance
- 23:52Speaker 1: dot Com slash foul. This is a paid advertisement. Insurance
- 23:55Speaker 1: is underwritten by either Independent American Insurance Company or United
- 23:59Speaker 1: States Fire Insurance Company and produced by PTZ Insurance Agency Limited.
- 24:02Speaker 1: The ASPCA is not an insurance and is not engaged
- 24:05Speaker 1: in the business of insurance. Did you see sam Antanachi
- 24:09Speaker 1: post game? This is what Kratz is talking about. They're
- 24:12Speaker 1: all coming together. They're gamers here it is. I've got
- 24:14Speaker 1: it for you.
- 24:15Speaker 4: It's a team sport. If if you're mad about it,
- 24:19Speaker 4: you know, giving up two runs on the ninth. Take
- 24:21Speaker 4: your ass to go play, you know, tennis, or play
- 24:24Speaker 4: an individual sport. So this is a team sport. We
- 24:26Speaker 4: got it, guys back, and we're just trying trying to
- 24:30Speaker 4: keep the train moving.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I almost shed a tear after that one. You know why.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I've been on the field doing many of those interviews
- 24:38Speaker 1: in the past, and it is so difficult to get
- 24:40Speaker 1: you players to say anything interesting at all besides the
- 24:44Speaker 1: same five things right, especially right after a game. It's
- 24:46Speaker 1: really tough. Like the best you get, at least for me,
- 24:49Speaker 1: the baseball nerd in me is them explaining it at
- 24:51Speaker 1: bat or a certain situation. But for the most part,
- 24:54Speaker 1: it's you know, we all rallied together, we were grinding
- 24:56Speaker 1: out at bats, blah blah blah, and then to just
- 24:59Speaker 1: get that that all you want. You don't want a
- 25:03Speaker 1: team sport, Go play tennis.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I mean tennis, guys. I have a lot of friends
- 25:08Speaker 2: that play tennis. I don't play tennis. I don't even
- 25:10Speaker 2: play pickleball. But like that was just that was that
- 25:14Speaker 2: was a low blow by Antonaci. Low blow. Go play tennis,
- 25:18Speaker 2: Like like it's like tennis is tough. Maybe maybe play
- 25:22Speaker 2: doubles and then your teammate will screw up. No, it is,
- 25:25Speaker 2: but it's so true. I'm sorry Scott that we don't
- 25:27Speaker 2: give you good answers at the end of games. One,
- 25:30Speaker 2: I never had any good game winning hits, or I
- 25:32Speaker 2: would have given you a lot of really good answers. Two,
- 25:35Speaker 2: you are so locked into the moment, Like I don't know,
- 25:39Speaker 2: I just you are a different person at the end
- 25:43Speaker 2: of a game, in the middle of a game, like
- 25:45Speaker 2: That's why in game interviews are when you can get
- 25:48Speaker 2: them and guys are actually engaged. I think they're electric
- 25:52Speaker 2: because you're in a spot, you're in a mindset where
- 25:56Speaker 2: you are trying your best to compete against the best
- 25:59Speaker 2: in the world. And you know what, we just don't
- 26:01Speaker 2: give you a lot postgame. But I love I love
- 26:04Speaker 2: that he took a shot at all you tennis players out.
- 26:06Speaker 1: There, my last one on this game, because it was
- 26:09Speaker 1: really good. I got to catch a chunk of it.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Patrick Bailey choosing to not slide on his way home.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Did you see that little maneuver? And do you think
- 26:19Speaker 1: that was on purpose? Because if he slid, he was
- 26:23Speaker 1: going to be out. And it's almost like when you
- 26:26Speaker 1: see a cool swim move, and it's just the way
- 26:28Speaker 1: that you avoid the tag in that particular bang bang moment.
- 26:31Speaker 1: But it was like leg drop hand coming in other
- 26:36Speaker 1: leg drop and he scored. I thought that was just
- 26:39Speaker 1: a cool watch. No, are you gonna talk me out
- 26:42Speaker 1: of that?
- 26:43Speaker 2: No? No, I completely agree. And this is something that
- 26:46Speaker 2: I got banged for one time. In the big leagues.
- 26:48Speaker 2: It's always faster to run through home plate. No, with
- 26:52Speaker 2: a collision rule and everything. People forget because you say, oh, man,
- 26:57Speaker 2: like ooh, that hook slide was so cool. If you
- 27:00Speaker 2: hook slide and you touch with your hand, you're already
- 27:02Speaker 2: past home plate. If you sprint through home plate, just
- 27:06Speaker 2: like you're running through first base, you're safe majority of
- 27:10Speaker 2: the time. Just ask Isaiah Kiner FILEFFA. He's got a
- 27:14Speaker 2: World Series ring if he runs through and nobody even
- 27:17Speaker 2: talks about his poor lead at third base, none of that.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Like sliding at home While it looked ugly for Patrick Bailey,
- 27:27Speaker 2: was he safe? Was that the fastest that he could
- 27:29Speaker 2: get there? In my opinion, yes, maybe if you run
- 27:32Speaker 2: through it, that's the fastest, But you know there's collision.
- 27:35Speaker 2: You're not sure you get to avoid the tag all
- 27:37Speaker 2: that stuff. But a slide is not to avoid tags,
- 27:41Speaker 2: but maybe like one percent of the time, a slide
- 27:44Speaker 2: is to slow you down. So if you're sliding into
- 27:46Speaker 2: a bang bang play that is the incorrect thing to do.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Urk Crochet won't begin throwing yet. According to manager Chad Tracy,
- 27:54Speaker 1: this came in yesterday Monday. Today is not Tuesday. So
- 27:58Speaker 1: Crochet had a scheduled reevaluation his shoulder. It showed improvement,
- 28:02Speaker 1: but not enough time to take that next step. So
- 28:04Speaker 1: Krats were playing the game here again. Ready, we're into
- 28:07Speaker 1: August at least.
- 28:10Speaker 2: At least well, I mean right when you said that,
- 28:13Speaker 2: I didn't realize that he hadn't even started throwing yet.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Now does that mean he's not he's playing catch, but
- 28:19Speaker 2: he's not off the mound. Like that's bad, Like it's
- 28:22Speaker 2: not good, Like we are nothing right August. You're lucky.
- 28:28Speaker 2: If it's August. We're looking at September right now, because
- 28:31Speaker 2: he's been out for weeks and you just multiply, it's
- 28:34Speaker 2: just a multiple until he can even get off the mound.
- 28:37Speaker 2: It's the same amount of time he's been out.
- 28:39Speaker 1: And then you're gonna slow play it. At this point
- 28:41Speaker 1: if you're going that deep in with the way the
- 28:43Speaker 1: Red Sox have been playing, there should be no rush.
- 28:45Speaker 1: So we heard about that one and one other I'll
- 28:47Speaker 1: sneak in there too that I saw right before the
- 28:49Speaker 1: show started was justin Steel and how if he returns
- 28:53Speaker 1: it would probably be in a bullpen roll for the Cubbies.
- 28:56Speaker 1: So that's a tough one too, because it looks like
- 28:58Speaker 1: he'll lose another full season at least as a starter.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Although hey, the Cubs can use me in the bullpen
- 29:03Speaker 1: if he comes back late. You got to get there.
- 29:04Speaker 1: But the Cubs have a better chance, much better chance
- 29:06Speaker 1: of making the playoffs, so that one at least feels
- 29:08Speaker 1: a little bit more real to me. The Crochet news
- 29:10Speaker 1: just means like he's not going to be with you
- 29:12Speaker 1: for the run that you need leading up to the deadline.
- 29:14Speaker 1: You're going to sell before the deadline.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Let me see if you got anything left.
- 29:19Speaker 1: But yeah, Wally popgate has hit New York City Jazz
- 29:31Speaker 1: Chisholm with a lollipop, playing around with it while he's
- 29:35Speaker 1: in the field in a real game, and Aaron Boone
- 29:37Speaker 1: has responded. He said, quote, it pisses me off when
- 29:41Speaker 1: he thinks about the fact that Jazz brought that out
- 29:45Speaker 1: and was messing around with it on the field in
- 29:47Speaker 1: a big league game. He said, quote, I don't I
- 29:50Speaker 1: didn't know about it until after the game. He and
- 29:52Speaker 1: I talked, and that won't be going on. Give me
- 29:56Speaker 1: more Kratz. Have you ever seen this? How much trouble
- 29:59Speaker 1: do you get for this kangaroo court? Or do you
- 30:02Speaker 1: just say one and done? Don't do that again, bro,
- 30:04Speaker 1: and we move on.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I mean, Aaron Boone saying it pisses me off is
- 30:08Speaker 2: not kangaroo court, like kangaroo court is. Ah, man, you
- 30:12Speaker 2: made another terrible challenge, Like you're really cooking us here.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I don't understand it. I don't understand why he thought
- 30:19Speaker 2: this would be a good idea, Like he's not He's
- 30:22Speaker 2: not Ul Washington who used to play with a toothpick.
- 30:26Speaker 2: He used to play back in the day. Look it
- 30:28Speaker 2: up every picture almost that he would have. It's because
- 30:31Speaker 2: he was trying to quit chewing tobacco. Dusty Baker would
- 30:35Speaker 2: have a toothpick in his mouth when he was managing.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I don't know if he did it when he was
- 30:39Speaker 2: playing or not. Like I remember trying a toothpick because
- 30:42Speaker 2: I was like tense when I was hitting. I remember
- 30:46Speaker 2: the first pitch, I had a toothpick in my mouth.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I like crunched it in half and it was just
- 30:51Speaker 2: in shards in my mouth and I stepped out of
- 30:53Speaker 2: the box spit it out, and I was like, well,
- 30:56Speaker 2: that's never gonna work. No, like a lollipop while you're play.
- 31:01Speaker 2: What is one of the things that irritates me is nonchalantness?
- 31:05Speaker 2: Is that what it is? Is it just being like
- 31:08Speaker 2: is it trying to be nonchalant? Was he did he
- 31:11Speaker 2: have some type of like low sugar? Did he need
- 31:13Speaker 2: to get a sugar spike? What was happening there? Like,
- 31:17Speaker 2: I feel like I feel like it's something that shows
- 31:21Speaker 2: me that maybe he's not as focused on the things
- 31:24Speaker 2: he needs to be focused on.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Do you think there's any audience that's like, let the
- 31:30Speaker 1: kids play play with a lollipop where everybody should be
- 31:33Speaker 1: pissed off on this one. I'm asking for me, you
- 31:36Speaker 1: know me, krats, I like to have fun. This to
- 31:38Speaker 1: me would be my line where I'm like, dude, if
- 31:41Speaker 1: you feel like you need like the mouth affixiation kind
- 31:44Speaker 1: of thing, there are plenty of other options where you
- 31:46Speaker 1: don't have to actually hold it and you have a
- 31:48Speaker 1: stick coming out of your mouth in a big league game,
- 31:50Speaker 1: and you're doing this right mouth and you're bringing it
- 31:54Speaker 1: back out, Like there's the very simple gum. There are seeds,
- 31:58Speaker 1: and there are a number of other things.
- 32:00Speaker 2: He could have easily just cut the stick off and
- 32:03Speaker 2: had a lollipop in his mouth if that's what he wanted,
- 32:06Speaker 2: Like he just wanted to suck on a lollipop and
- 32:09Speaker 2: he wanted the gum in the middle. I get it. Hey,
- 32:11Speaker 2: his choice was tremendous. I mean you're talking about it
- 32:15Speaker 2: looked like the It looked like the gum in the
- 32:17Speaker 2: middle with a so sour apple, green apple, green apple.
- 32:23Speaker 2: It's the best. It's absolutely the best one I could.
- 32:26Speaker 2: I have one in my truck almost at all times
- 32:28Speaker 2: in case I'm driving somewhere and I need to pick
- 32:30Speaker 2: me up. Never have I ever thought about having one
- 32:34Speaker 2: in a game. And I feel like, I feel like
- 32:36Speaker 2: it borders on unprofessional, and I don't know, maybe i'd
- 32:41Speaker 2: be considered, Oh, you're an idiot. You're wearing your hat backwards.
- 32:44Speaker 2: You don't know anything about unprofessional, Like there's a there's
- 32:49Speaker 2: a level of how you handle yourself. And I'm not
- 32:53Speaker 2: sure what his reasoning would be. I haven't seen anything
- 32:56Speaker 2: his response, but I respect Aaron Boone as much as
- 33:02Speaker 2: I respect any manager in the game, and for him
- 33:04Speaker 2: to say it pisses me off. And I don't know.
- 33:07Speaker 2: I didn't know about it until after the game. He
- 33:10Speaker 2: and I talked and that won't be going on again. Like,
- 33:14Speaker 2: you don't have to do that. You're not babysitting kids.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Guys don't do that, like what, I'm a high school coach.
- 33:20Speaker 2: I'm like, guys, we're not checking it. We're not checking
- 33:23Speaker 2: our phone, like we don't. Well, I gotta see if
- 33:26Speaker 2: my mom is gonna pick me up, Like okay, well
- 33:29Speaker 2: just ask me and then I'll say, go check your phone.
- 33:31Speaker 2: But that's the kind of thing like, hey, Jazz, no lollipops.
- 33:35Speaker 2: No lollipops in oh, come on, I want one. It
- 33:40Speaker 2: just feels very immature and unprofessional.
- 33:45Speaker 1: A s Geek is MLB's official ticket marketplace, and in
- 33:49Speaker 1: addition to finding every single game on the MLB calendar,
- 33:53Speaker 1: there are big events coming up.
- 33:55Speaker 3: There's an All Star game, there's a home run derby,
- 33:58Speaker 3: and if you think you're perfect and you can pay
- 34:00Speaker 3: the right seat at the home run derby to get
- 34:01Speaker 3: the most home run balls you can get the little
- 34:04Speaker 3: green dot and that might be your lucky seat.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Don't go red dot though, because you might not get
- 34:08Speaker 2: any balls. But go redgreen dot and get as many
- 34:11Speaker 2: home run balls as you think you can catch.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yep, you click the seat, you check out what your

- 34:43Speaker 1: Thank you to ze Geek. Do you think that there's
- 34:46Speaker 1: any sense of testing your parents out like a kid
- 34:49Speaker 1: would do, where you're like, I'm going to see if
- 34:51Speaker 1: I can pull off bringing a lollipop onto the field?
- 34:55Speaker 2: Yes, yes, just watch what Jazz did last year. Deal
- 34:59Speaker 2: at the one do the home run derby and he
- 35:02Speaker 2: was like whatever, man, Like, I'll just do what I
- 35:05Speaker 2: want to do. Like it's cool, man. I'm just gonna
- 35:07Speaker 2: be as cool as I can. I'm gonna go and
- 35:09Speaker 2: swing Aaron Judge's bat and I'm gonna hit some dingers.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Nobody showed the strikeouts that I had because the bat
- 35:15Speaker 2: was too big for me, but they showed all the dingers.
- 35:17Speaker 2: What a cool story. I'm gonna take a green Apple
- 35:20Speaker 2: lollipop out there and it'll be fun. It'll be cool.
- 35:24Speaker 2: See what I can get away with.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Hey. I know he wants to cash out
- 35:28Speaker 1: big in free agency, and he's definitely a good player,
- 35:32Speaker 1: But these are the moments where you got a way.
- 35:34Speaker 1: If it's worth it, you can have fun, you can
- 35:37Speaker 1: say things, but the lollipop is pushing it.
- 35:41Speaker 2: How much you said he wants a cash out in
- 35:43Speaker 2: free agency. There's a difference between jazz Chislm and aeric Crats.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Air Crafts is looking for a job. Let's let's get
- 35:51Speaker 2: that straight. I can't do that kind of stuff. Jazz
- 35:54Speaker 2: Chism's a very good player. Maybe statistically you're looking at
- 35:57Speaker 2: second basements in the game. Do you think he's last
- 36:00Speaker 2: year's stats. Do you think he's his career stats, whatever
- 36:03Speaker 2: it is he is up there, he should get paid
- 36:06Speaker 2: for second basement. So you're talking about him wanting over
- 36:10Speaker 2: one hundred million dollars If I'm not mistaken, Yes, all
- 36:13Speaker 2: of a sudden, you're like, I'm paying a guy one
- 36:14Speaker 2: hundred million dollars. It's willing to, you know, make selfish
- 36:19Speaker 2: choices on the ABS system. Suck a lollipop at second
- 36:24Speaker 2: base when you're like one hundred million, you know, I'd
- 36:28Speaker 2: take him for I'd take him for a two year deal. Like.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Those are the kind of things that you, as a
- 36:33Speaker 2: owner you have to think about.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I'm with you. So it sounds silly, trust me, it does.
- 36:38Speaker 1: And there are more important things in life. But that's
- 36:40Speaker 1: what this show does. We bring this stuff up and
- 36:42Speaker 1: there is a line, and the line was crossed, and
- 36:44Speaker 1: Aaron Boone will defend players to death. So if he's
- 36:46Speaker 1: saying how pissed off he is, then you should know
- 36:49Speaker 1: he's at a ten out of ten on the pissed
- 36:51Speaker 1: off meter, feeling like he's getting taken advantage of for
- 36:53Speaker 1: being a player's manager. Hey, a couple more minutes here
- 37:06Speaker 1: and then Baseball America's hot sheets is going to take
- 37:09Speaker 1: you through what happened in the College World Series. Steven
- 37:11Speaker 1: Shock was great with us. If you missed it earlier,
- 37:13Speaker 1: you can backtrack to it. But this is what it
- 37:15Speaker 1: looks like every Tuesday Live, three o'clock Eastern time. They're
- 37:18Speaker 1: also going to talk about the proposals that came from
- 37:21Speaker 1: MLB in terms of switching basically everything with the draft,
- 37:24Speaker 1: the international drafts, no more high school players, the whole
- 37:27Speaker 1: deal not going to get accepted, but still fun to
- 37:30Speaker 1: kick around and explore what actually will happen. Will they
- 37:33Speaker 1: get any types of changes? Could it be an international draft,
- 37:36Speaker 1: which I think is definitely on the table and they
- 37:38Speaker 1: came close to pulling that off last time around. A
- 37:41Speaker 1: couple other notes, one from yesterday and then one for today.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Do you see Kumar Rocker career high nine strikeouts twenty
- 37:49Speaker 1: swinging strikes? Twenty swinging strikes. That means you were pumping
- 37:53Speaker 1: a pitch in the zone and you're getting them to miss.
- 37:55Speaker 1: That's a big stat for front offices. Can you get
- 37:59Speaker 1: your stuff in the zone and create swing and miss
- 38:01Speaker 1: out of it. That's one that I like, of course,
- 38:03Speaker 1: but that's a really good number for him, And I
- 38:04Speaker 1: was just diving into the Rangers rotation for a moment,
- 38:07Speaker 1: because you think, like, oh, that that's like the prime
- 38:10Speaker 1: part of the Rangers. Their bullpen has been sick, like
- 38:13Speaker 1: the guy LUTs who they found out of nowhere. De
- 38:15Speaker 1: Grom last I checked, was the only guy who has
- 38:17Speaker 1: a sub four RA in that group. So the group
- 38:21Speaker 1: I think was in I think twelve in er. I
- 38:23Speaker 1: thought it would have been like fifth or sixth, but
- 38:26Speaker 1: there's a lot of guys that are like a little
- 38:27Speaker 1: over in the fours, and you know how that ballpark plays,
- 38:30Speaker 1: so I don't know. I was just a little bit
- 38:31Speaker 1: surprised when I was diving into some numbers for a
- 38:33Speaker 1: team that we don't cover a ton and Rocker, by
- 38:36Speaker 1: the way, was he got the old sorry, dude, you
- 38:39Speaker 1: you're not good enough for the first inning, so he
- 38:41Speaker 1: pitched in bulk innings. But he's got a four to
- 38:43Speaker 1: one four. So the same thing. There's a lot of
- 38:45Speaker 1: guys that are just tickling that four line.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Their park adjusted starting rotation is bad because they got
- 38:52Speaker 2: I mean, it should be much lower. But yeah, Kumar
- 38:56Speaker 2: Rocker definitely needed an opener because his swing and miss
- 38:58Speaker 2: stuff would not have worked first. So I'm glad sarcasm
- 39:03Speaker 2: sarcasm alert, Okay, but getting twenty that's why Dylan Cees
- 39:08Speaker 2: got paid what he did by the Jays, And people
- 39:10Speaker 2: were like, how could a guy with these numbers? Yes,
- 39:12Speaker 2: I get your peripheral numbers. I get he doesn't go
- 39:14Speaker 2: innings all that stuff. Swing and miss there is zero
- 39:19Speaker 2: chance you get a hit if you swing and miss
- 39:20Speaker 2: at a pitch. I know that's mind boggling to people.
- 39:23Speaker 2: But you saw what he did the other day when
- 39:24Speaker 2: he came off the IL. I think it was like
- 39:26Speaker 2: twenty nine swings and misses. Dudes that can do that
- 39:30Speaker 2: get paid because there's no variance in a swing and
- 39:33Speaker 2: a miss.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Also on the topic of swinging mits, and it was
- 39:37Speaker 1: a little better for him before he got hurt. Ellie
- 39:39Speaker 1: de la Cruz is back for the Red Legs and
- 39:43Speaker 1: that should be a nice version of energy they do. Hey,
- 39:46Speaker 1: they had a really nice weekend rebound. I mean they
- 39:48Speaker 1: got beat up on Friday by cam Cy Young Schlitler,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and then the Yankees were beat up pretty good by
- 39:56Speaker 1: the Reds offense. But like you've seen those bursts, but
- 39:58Speaker 1: you're not seeing it consistently. Helps to have someone like
- 40:01Speaker 1: Ellie dla Cruz back because yesterday again, I mean it
- 40:04Speaker 1: was zero zero heading into the tenth against a good
- 40:06Speaker 1: Brewers pitching staff and Brandon Woodridch was sick, but they
- 40:09Speaker 1: lost two to one. On Monday. Ellie de la Cruz
- 40:12Speaker 1: back for Tuesday, who's also had a great defensive year
- 40:15Speaker 1: two before he got hurt. He keeps he's improving on
- 40:18Speaker 1: that side. Yes, much improved, like just a little place
- 40:21Speaker 1: he does the crazy stuff. Now he's doing the stuff
- 40:24Speaker 1: that you want to see done that prevents the mistakes.
- 40:26Speaker 1: So I'm excited Ellie's back now. It needs to stay healthy.
- 40:30Speaker 2: That's part of the maturation, learning what it takes. You
- 40:32Speaker 2: can't just go out there and play ball at whatever
- 40:34Speaker 2: level you want to play at.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yep, agreed, all right, we'll be back on Wednesday. I
- 40:39Speaker 1: should be at Todd Father's studio for that one for
- 40:42Speaker 1: us three goofballs to give you more baseball. And also
- 40:49Speaker 1: if you're going the soccer route, then you can predict
- 40:53Speaker 1: a match in terms of results to win bonus bets.
- 40:57Speaker 1: So they have daily pick'ems on the bet MGM app
- 40:59Speaker 1: and go for a share of ten thousand dollars in
- 41:01Speaker 1: bonus bets each day of a game, okay, and then
- 41:06Speaker 1: that's a total of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars
- 41:08Speaker 1: and pick them free to play bonus bets that are
- 41:12Speaker 1: being handed out during this time period, so you'll get
- 41:14Speaker 1: some questions to answer within the app. Check that out
- 41:17Speaker 1: and we'll go over our next USA pick for the
- 41:21Speaker 1: Cup a little bit later this week.
