- 0:17Again like a wait, hot, hello everybody, This is Le from Infected
- 0:30Rain. I am very happy to be here because we just released our sixth
- 0:36album after all these years. It is quite a milestone for us. We
- 0:42started in two thousand and eight in a very small country in Eastern Europe called
- 0:46Moldova. Oh love, thanks for joining us today, Thank you for having
- 0:51me. Yeah, my pleasure. So, as you say, Infected Rayan
- 0:54released your six album time it just last week. So how's the early response
- 0:59being for it? Very good so far, Yeah, very good, more
- 1:03than we could even expect. Great comments, great feedback. Yeah, people
- 1:12are loving it. Oh, so, can you tell us a bit more
- 1:15about the album from a musical point of view and what you're going for it?
- 1:19Well, from the musical point of view, I think you want to
- 1:23talk with my musicians more because they are the composers of the instrumental part.
- 1:30Now, when they are ready and they have a raw version of a song
- 1:37or a good chunk of an idea of a song, they often send it
- 1:41over so I can start thinking in that direction and see what really inspires me
- 1:47and what I could adapt to that melody. You know, to me,
- 1:52it's just when I have the songs. And when my task is to to
- 2:00compose melody applying lyrics, I go based on what the instruments make me feel,
- 2:07and that's how I choose what is the direction of the song that is
- 2:12going to be and what lyrics I'm gonna apply. But yeah, I mean,
- 2:15we have something that we introduced for the first time through this album,
- 2:21which is eight string guitar. Some of the songs are recorded for eight string
- 2:28guitar. We never had that before. Also, we have a new bass
- 2:30player and even though she joined the band after the composing process of the album,
- 2:37she recorded a big part of the songs on the album. And we've
- 2:44already been on tour together and then it feels really great. Yeah, cool,
- 2:51and I'll revered the album for heavy and and the amount of different styles
- 2:53and genres that you explore is a definite face Like what was it difficult waving
- 2:59so many different and saw the music together and still having a cohesive body of
- 3:02work at the end of it. Well, again, that's quite a question
- 3:07for the musicians, you know, for the people that compose the music the
- 3:10instruments. But based on what I know and based on what I've witnessed,
- 3:17I don't think it's difficult. It's just it's actually easier because you feel so
- 3:23free to compose with every genre out there and you just apply what feels right,
- 3:30you know. You listen to it, you're like, what if I
- 3:31had this as well and that as well? Okay, this maybe feels too
- 3:36much, I'll just leave only this, I'll make it louder or whatever.
- 3:38This is pretty much give or take out. They composed. They go by
- 3:43how it feels, you know, and there's there was no goal and where,
- 3:47Oh, let's go with this album, let's mix all the genres together.
- 3:52Not really, if you, you know, ever get the opportunity to
- 3:57dig deeper into our discography, you would feel the other genres being mixed together
- 4:02with metal since the album number one. Really we've always kind of did it.
- 4:08So another feature of the album is your transition from harsh to claimed vocals
- 4:12within the song. So how difficult is that for you as a vicalist light
- 4:15to go from one sort or the other? Like as a listener, it
- 4:18doesn't sound like to be easy. Well, nothing is easy. If everything
- 4:23was that easy, everybody would have done it, you know what I mean,
- 4:26Nothing is really easy, but it is possible for everybody to learn.
- 4:30That part is true. You don't have to necessarily, you know, be
- 4:35born with this insane vocal capacity from like a gift from nature to learn certain
- 4:43vocal techniques, the suggest techniques that you learn. Just like any muscle,
- 4:47you train it, and eventually you find it easier and easier. It's like
- 4:51going to the gym. Initially, the first month is probably going to be
- 4:57so heavy and difficult and annoying for you and more, maybe even more than
- 5:02a month, right for everybody, not just for you, like you as
- 5:05a person, any one of us. And then but if we continue the
- 5:10hard work, if we actually persist and train, eventually things become easier.
- 5:18You know, if in the beginning, let's say you could only do five
- 5:21sit ups, trust me, if you continue working on those sit ups,
- 5:27by the end of the month, you're going to be able to do three
- 5:30or four times more. It's quite similar to sensation, because you learn to
- 5:34breathe properly, you learn to be in tune with your own body. You
- 5:40learn technique to warm up your vocal chords before any type of performance, even
- 5:46in a rehearsal, and you continue being in tune with your body while singing.
- 5:53While recording, while performing, and that helps you know. Now again,
- 5:59this is not something very unique for this album. I've been doing that
- 6:02since album number one, singing in clean vocals or in harsher vocals. So
- 6:11just say somebody has only heard at the singles that you're released on the varia
- 6:15never to return, because I'll let you in Lighthouse would to say that they
- 6:18are a good sonic representation of the album as a whole. I mean,
- 6:24I believe that this album specifically is very unique in itself because it's a very
- 6:30conceptual album. It being such a conceptual album is actually easy, like you
- 6:40said, through two or three songs to get an idea of the theme at
- 6:45least of the song. But let's agree, every every song on this album
- 6:49is so different from one another, but also so unique and in tune with
- 6:55one another. So I mean, of course I would prefer that people give
- 7:00a try to the entire album to understand it. But if yes, if
- 7:04we need to choose, that's why we choose singles, is to show different
- 7:10aspects because Lighthouse is so much more gentle, and there's so much clean vocals
- 7:15and and it's more calm as a song in a way, even though with
- 7:19such deep global meaning, right because I let you so much more personal.
- 7:26But at the same time that you know, so many people can relate to
- 7:30that because I am bringing up an emotion that everybody's familiar with. Then,
- 7:40you know, with never to Return and you know, we already mentioned a
- 7:44couple of things, but like it is just the best song that brings you
- 7:50to the to face the reality, and the reality is that you know,
- 7:57we sleep walk. We really enjoyed the moment and the moment's past and and
- 8:03they become part of our past, and then we can't remember what happened in
- 8:07our past and and why, you know, and the values that we like,
- 8:13the things that we prioritize in life and all that. All those are
- 8:16such different themes, but at the same time, all together they bring they
- 8:22have one thing in common, which is the name of the album Time,
- 8:26and of course the main theme on this album that Time follows on from twenty
- 8:37twenty two successful album Thesis. Is it pronounced that Thesis ands? So,
- 8:46was there axtra any extra pressure on you gown into this one because the last
- 8:50album was so successful, I mean, in a way the best pandalbum you
- 9:01know was so go do at the time, is it possible to you know,
- 9:05do something better? But that's where I think the majority of people make
- 9:11the like the most common mistake is here, who said that you have to
- 9:18give to people something better? And also what is something better? Really?
- 9:22You know, the answer can be so much different depending on the preferences of
- 9:28the listeners. Right, so we approach it differently. We always just disconnect
- 9:35from everything we've done before and try to start from a new, fresh,
- 9:43you know page. And of course we have the same people that we were,
- 9:50you know, a couple of years ago or even five years ago,
- 9:54we had the same people, so a certain pattern and a certain signature you
- 9:58will still see and in the music. However, time passes and hopefully we
- 10:05are a little bit wiser, more professional, more knowledgeable in our career.
- 10:13And this is what we are trying to bring here, is our newer experiences
- 10:18and newer knowledge in music about music, maybe even some new skills, because
- 10:22we do try and train and learn new programs, new new you know,
- 10:31gadgets. So if you don't think about it that way, and you just
- 10:37have fun with the composing process and just make sure that you are loving it
- 10:43in the first place. And if that your own music speaks to you.
- 10:48You're doing the right thing in my opinion. Now you're off on troll with
- 10:52Dragonface and Amaranti from February the twenty first. Where's that true gone to It
- 10:58sounds like it'd be a lot of fun. Yeah, we are very excited.
- 11:03This tour will begin in Germany February twenty first, like you mentioned,
- 11:11so very soon, and it will end in the UK on March twenty fourth,
- 11:18now one month of intense touring, we have very few days off.
- 11:24We are very excited because we are going to play in front of a newer
- 11:28audience and that's challenging but also very exciting. And is there any plans for
- 11:35Inspected Ryan to come to Australia in the New Fusia Well, in the near
- 11:41future. We don't have any plans yet, but it is in our bucket
- 11:46list for sure, because we really want to play everywhere, you know,
- 11:52and Australia is a place that we've never visited, and we have a lot
- 11:54of fans and there's a lot of demand over there. The geographical position of
- 12:03a country often plays a big role. Not only that, but also how
- 12:09strict you know, the requirements are to enter a certain country in comparison with
- 12:16another country also plays a big role. So we will definitely do that,
- 12:22definitely visit Australia. I don't know when though, can make any promises.
- 12:30We it is in our bucket least though of course before I let you guys
- 12:35go to South st and you still go around the bank Deethtail Union. Oh,
- 12:41it's currently not going anywhere. I you know, I am in the
- 12:46process of packing for a new tour, so uh it being my side project,
- 12:52it's a more slow type of project for now. I don't know where
- 12:56that is going to lead, but we are still, you know, waiting
- 13:01to release another music video that was prepared last year, which is going to
- 13:05happen soon in I believe in spring, and uh yeah for now, it's
- 13:11a very young band with only one album never we never even like played together,
- 13:18you know, so we will say, well this will lead us.
- 13:20All depends on the reaction of people. I believe, yeah, because I'm
- 13:26with Doug a few times before and he sent me, if you're this,
- 13:28always put them through heavy for your son. Nice thank you. I was
- 13:33okay, well, thanks very much for me. Tom. Did I spend
- 13:35a preasure speaking with you? The album Time is out now and it's an
- 13:39absolute crack and so if you haven't got it yet or suggest you do,
