- speaker-0: Okay, hello everyone and welcome to today's town hall. Thank you so much everyone for joining us. we're gonna briefly bring up our disclaimer and then I'm gonna hand over to PC to take us through today's agenda. PC. Hello everybody, welcome again on a y another Town Hall. I'm I think we lost count on which one it is, but today what's on the agenda, what's on the menu, we're gonna talk a little bit about some effort that we've done on the task app to bring it to more people across the world. Andrew will also run you to some updates of the verbal partner connection. there is a small update on the owner portal for people who are using that feature as part of the mogul plan. And we're gonna go back on the big launch from last time, which is the home dashboard, to see how you are liking it. but first we're gonna start with some team updates. you know, this is a bit of the bullying ritual that we have at Hospitable, showing our latest recruit to hundreds of our best friends. and so I'm gonna start calling Andres, who is gonna be join with joining our team now as a technical support engineer. Andres, now is a great time to sh turn your camera on and unmute yourself to explain who you are and what you're gonna do at Hospitable. Perfect. Can you hear me guys? Do you hear me? Perfect. Okay, cool. Perfect. Hello. Hello, everyone. Well, my name is Andres. I am located in Medellin, Colombia. It's called the City of the Eternal Spring. Because here the weather is always kind of good. So you are more than welcome to visit this amazing city. So while I joined as a technical super engineer specialized in the financial part, well, I am very happy to join to Spiable. Very amazing team. And one of my things that I've come to say about me. is I am very fan of first of all Arabell, very fan of tennis. I am a very competitive tennis player. And something funny about me is I am well I I love dogs. I in my house I live with four dogs. I love them and I can spend all my day with them. So thank you. Happy to join you. A very competitive tennis player. I think we can have to improve to make that to the test. my goodness, so thank you. Thank you so much Andres. So this is a role that we've been recruiting for for quite some time. So we're very happy to have Andres now. We have two types of engineers. We have product engineers, those are the ones that typically are building features and maintaining them, but there are always things that slip through the cracks that end up in the backlog. And so the point is that the technical support engineering team that are gonna be having a focus for each of the parts of the product are basically acting acting on the backlog from I want to say the bottom. And so fixing those errors that don't require a lot of product input and just improving massively the quality of life. We're having a big team now, I think five of technical support engineers. They've been focusing for now, really working across our core products, so for example, guest experience. And I think we've been very happy to have them because they were able to fix a large number of bugs that we've been iterated for quite some time. So this is really a team we're very happy to have. 'Cause they're having a fantastic impact across everyone and our chromosome base. thank you very much, Andres. Next we have Carter. Carter, who are you and what are you gonna be doing at Hospitable? speaker-1: Yep. Hey everyone. I'm Carter, based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. enjoying the last couple months of warmth before it actually gets a little cold. But I just joined Hospitable as a sales development representative, kind of in simple terms, really just going to be connecting with hosts and property managers, learning about how they run their businesses, helping to see how hospitable can make their lives easier and save them, you know, tons of time. I actually spent my last three years at hostaway. So excited to be joining hospitable and bringing some of that industry knowledge too. really kind of quick fun fact about me is actually growing up, I wanted to become a chef as a profession. love going to new restaurants, love trying new things, but I quickly became that I'm more of a people person. and I'm actually not great in the in the kitchen. So learned that pretty quickly, but I'm still trying to improve my my dishes every single day. most recently I think my my favorite dish has been chicken picata. So that's kind of interesting facts about me. I'm really super excited to get to get going here, get to know everyone and really get started. speaker-0: Fantastic. And so as you understood, people may have heard about Carter working at another company before. Fun fact, actually another part, is that we have plenty of hosts in the company. And turns out one of our account executive was in touch with Carter in a previous onbo previous onboarding, let's say. So it's funny, it's a very, very small word in this industry. So very happy to have you, Carter. And obviously we're still recruiting for quite a few sales roles. in the company. Thank you. Thank you very much, Carter, for a great introduction. And then Juneid is also joining our team as a senior accountant because turns out we need to be counting the beans. Recently has been a bit of a thing. So Junaid, can you start a camera and introduce yourself? Go ahead. Hi everyone. Hi everyone. My name is Janaide. I live in the UK just outside of London. As DC mentioned. I joined on Monday as a senior accountant where my job is primarily looking after the money side of the business to make sure it's accurate, tidy, so that the company has a I guess a trustworthy picture of its financial health. a fun fact about me, back in 2019 when I got married, I had 750 people at the wedding reception. suffice to say it took a really long time to take pictures with each and every member of of the guests. but I think I mastered a pose where I it didn't take too much effort. but yeah, really happy to be here. Do you have a plan to put people next to the people that they they like or they don't like or you go just give up seven hundred and fifty people? Yeah, you just have to delegate. Yeah, good. Thank you very much, June. That's fantastic. And as promised, we're gonna start the product updates on the task app with Andrew. Good luck. speaker-1: Hello everyone. Let's jump in. Quick refresh for anyone that is not familiar with the Task app before we tell you what's new on the Task app. So this year we launched a completely new app for your teammates to use. They can view all their jobs. You can assign them tasks. As of today, we have 150,000, 150,000 tasks that have been accepted in the app, meaning the teammate actually has the app installed and accepted the job in the app. So that's pretty good. 150,000 tasks. tasks that have been done, they can complete the task on the checklist, they can upload arrival and completion photos, report issues to hosts, those give you push notifications so you know immediately if something has gone wrong, either with the property or with the guests that were staying in your property, and you can act. There's messaging back and forth, it's automatic translation on the messaging and everything in the app for the supported languages, and it tracks your payouts. So far, we have paid out over $2.5 million in. payments to your teammates. That saves you a lot of time. payments are only available in the US right now. We are trying to expand that to other areas very soon. but yeah, it allows you to instantly pay out your teammates as soon as they mark a task as complete, or you can have different settings to pay out weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. We are working on expanding this. We are working currently on inventory management. That's a big, highly requested feature coming soon. and smarter assignment rules. So those of you that want to have multiple cleaners or have a primary and secondary cleaner, those are the things we're working on now. But let's talk a little bit more about the recent update. So we started looking at who was using the task app. There's about 11,000 plus users so far that have been using the task app. our customers, you, skew heavily to the US. So there was no surprise that our top language, so we're looking at like the device locale of who's using the task app. Scoos heavily, heavily towards English language. when we launched earlier this year, we launched with Spanish as well, knowing that that would be a popular language for our host. and that covers over 95% of your teammates that are using it today. but we were kind of surprised to see that we have 299 task app users who use the device in Portuguese. If we exclude English from from this pie chart, it's easier to see who else is using it. 198 teammates would prefer to use the app in French. 146 teammates would prefer to use it in German. The other ones, Chinese, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Norwegian, just beat out Dutch to round out the top 10. So, what are we doing with this information? Well, for starters, the task app is now available in Portuguese. It's fully supported, so it auto-translates your checklist. Any messages that you're sending back and forth, one side can be in Portuguese, the other in English, and everything gets translated appropriately. Upsells that your guests have purchased on the reservation, those are also translated into Portuguese now. Everything support docs, you name it. In doing so, we have also made it relatively trivial to add more languages to the app. So over the course of the next week, maybe two weeks, we're gonna add out the rest of those top 10 languages. So, anyone that's got cleaners working in other languages, they're gonna be able to do so in a much more convenient way for them. Our simple English-Spanish language toggle is now a drop-down menu to accommodate the incoming languages, and it makes smart defaults and recommendations based on your device locale and your location. Nice slick update there. Moving on. The home dashboard. So if you missed our town hall two weeks ago. You should really go back and watch it on YouTube. It was great. We have a brand new dashboard and we talked about all of the the thought we put into that, all the discernment that we help you do. one update from the tasks app team is that we now surface poor reviews from your cleaner on a guest who is checking out. So if you're not aware that they're doing this, I I absolutely love this content. I think a lot of you do as well. we now ask your cleaners to rate the guest when they show up. How do they leave the house on a five-star rating? It's it's great all around, it's amazing content. And when you have a review of three stars or less, we're now surfacing that on the dashboard, knowing that that might require action from you that might have an impact on that day's operations. So that's in addition to all of the many conditions we highlight on the dashboard. If you have tasks that are unassigned or unconfirmed or declined for that day, if you have same day turnovers, if you have a task that day that has not been started on time, if you have a task that was not completed on time. All of that intelligence now is automatically surfacing on the dashboard where you need to see it. The home dashboard is the latest best reason to use the tasks app if you aren't using it yet. It is the only way to see that level of detail and real-time status updates on tasks. So here's a view of what the cleaner uses to review the guest. And what we noticed, because we we just there was so much kind of learning that we had pouring through this data, is your cleaners were leaving really long reviews sometimes. And we felt bad that they were having to type all of that on their phone. So we added a simple voice-to-text component to the review. So they could now, you know, continue walking about the house and just speaking again in any language they like to leave that review for the guests. We're going to start using that component throughout the task app where it makes sense. it's currently only available on iOS. We're going to try and get that on Android as well. But this feels very aligned with some of the goals we stated when we launched this, is this needs to be a field first app. that your teammates use. So we're trying to to keep to that keep true to that mission. Another one highly requested, kind of a small update, but we didn't let you see your past jobs in all of the views. You could see them on the calendar, but the calendar was kind of hard to to scroll. So now in the list view, which was another request that we got from teammates as soon as they started using it, we let you s we we let you scroll to the past. So you start centered on today. You can scroll forward into the future. You can scroll back into the past. super nice upgrade, I think. That will be be very appreciated by all of your teammates using that app. And with that, I will segue to myself and talk to you about the verbal partner connection. we haven't spoken about it in a little while. we're still working on it. There's there's some nice improvements we can talk about. and for anyone that hasn't made the leap yet, There are lots of reasons to do so. So some of you are still using Virgo with Hospitable on our legacy connection. Some of you are not on Vermo yet. And I just wanted to give you a heads up on what things we've done since we launched, early June, and all the different reasons why you should be using it. So we say that we have the best verbal integration out there. I think Virbo has also as much as they can confirm that we are the only ones using all of the integration scopes. That we use the only integrated property management software that uses all of the capabilities that Virgo has out there. we manage payments for you, or you can use Stripe. If Hospitable is managing your payments, we are automatically collecting scheduled payments. That was a huge pain point, I think, with with that we've heard. we have the credit card on file in the guest portal. We remit taxes in s in all of the 50 states, some taxes in all the 50 states, some of you have all of your taxes handled by Hospitable. We manage your chargebacks for you. There are many, many, many reasons why this is a fantastic integration. And we've been adding some new capabilities since we launched that. as of today, the scale is is is large. we just passed 60,000 nights books, 60,329 to be precise, since we launched just on June 10th. tomorrow we will pass $25 million in gross bookings since June 10th. And by next week, we should pass 15,000 listings on the verbal partner connection. So this is a yeah, a very, very quickly established integration for us. What is what have we added new? So recently we added the ability to send money for managing your payments. you often need to make tweaks to that so you can now issue refunds of any amount. So an ad hoc refund on a reservation directly from hospitable and sent to the guest payment method. You can alternatively request money, anything that you need to do to change that reservation up to two weeks post-checkout, you can still request additional payment. Same with sending money. that really makes it a flexible way to manage a reservation. And security deposits, another big request. These are live for everyone. All those send send money, request money, secure deposits, popular feature requests. When you do the verbal partner integration, verbo does not provide the same kind of insurance and protections. So we highly recommend that you protect yourself with these security deposits. you can set those up in hospitable and they're completely automated and give you the ability to protect yourself on any downside outcomes that you have with your reservations. One more update imported bookings. So this is important for any of you that. Have used Virbo in the past on another property management system and you're now kind of migrating that into Hospitable. We migrate any current reservations that you have that already exist. these were difficult to manage before. this is something that we we've what was pointed out to us early on. You can now alter and cancel these reservations in Hospitable. We update them in Virgo and Hospitable, but we don't handle the money because we didn't take the payment on those bookings. So any refunds or charges. Are now they need to be handled outside of Hospitable, but we're no longer causing a lot of friction, blocking your calendar, et cetera. You can now manage reservations that were booked on another property management system on Virgo in Hospitable. So that is probably a little bit confusing for for those of you that are not on it yet, that haven't thought about those things in a while. If you would like to take more time and go through them, if you are interested in signing up and getting integrated with Virgo and haven't yet, We are going to do a workshop next week, Wednesday, 7 a.m. Pacific, 10 a.m. Eastern, 4 p.m. and Europe, and help you walk through any questions you have, go in more detail on how everything works and help you guys get set up. And with that, I will transfer to Emily to talk about the owner portal. speaker-3: Thanks, Andrew. Alrighty, I have a really short update for you today. You are going to hear from me much more in the next town hall, which hopefully by then will be interpreted as good news because we have a lot of exciting things to share. So, owner portal updates. Since we launched the ability to highlight guest reviews in the owner portal a few months ago, you've been asking us for more control and we're finally giving them to you. You can now actually choose whether or not you share private feedback that was submitted by your guests as a part of their reviews to your owners in the portal. Like every owner portal permission, this can be set at the business level and overridden at the owner level, just in case you have one owner who maybe you'd like to show them to and the rest you wouldn't. We also are now making sure to only show guest reviews for reservations that actually happened since the portal's start date. That start date in the portal essentially allows you to pick what data the owner can see, anything after that date, anything before that is not shown to them. So before this change, guest reviews actually were not respecting that setting, and now they do. So now your owners will not be confused by a really old bad review that probably happened before you took over. Next we will hear from Tim. Tim. speaker-0: Emily. Hello, everyone. So like Andrew mentioned in our last town hall, we introduced the new home dashboard and we went really deep into the journey behind it. since then, the full dashboard has rolled out to everyone. and we also have some updates to tell you about. So speaker-1: standing at the top. speaker-0: of the dashboards with the things that require your attention. if you missed the last town hall. So needs attention is where Hospital brings forth important issues with a meaningful consequence if they remain unresolved. these are now collected at the top of the home dashboard. And since launching said dashboard, hosts have resolved almost six and a half thousand needs attention alerts. And we've also added a few more since the last sample. So first we'll now notice. notify you when you have a bank account that needs verifying. we'll tell you about any associated upcoming payouts just to make sure that there's no delays and you get paid out on time. Second, we'll also notify you if you are on Direct Basic or you use Stripe for VRBO payments and you don't have any manual taxes configured. Previously, issues like these were pretty hidden in another part of Hospitable. It was difficult to discover. so now one of the main reasons behind needs attention is it gives us a much more consistent place to bring these issues forward, explain the relevant consequences, and direct you to where they can be resolved. And we're going to continue to add more alerts from different parts of the product. So there's plenty more on the way. Next then, opportunity center is continuing to grow. So unlike needs attention, opportunities, they're not urgent issues, they don't necessarily mean that something's broken. Their recommendations, their opinions, that based on your setup, your properties, your activity, they can they can help you grow, help you save time. And so since launch, hosts have completed over 7,000 of these opportunities. And again, we are far from done here. We've added a lot more in the last couple of weeks from from different areas within hospitable, from guest verification, the task app, security deposits. And we want to continue to improve the context behind them so you can more easily understand why an opportunity is being shown and decide whether it is right for you and your business. Next, so we mentioned during the last time hall that we were in the process of rolling out a new bookings component as well. This is now live for all users. it gives you visibility on any pending requests to book. any guest inquiries that you haven't responded to yet. Selecting either card is going to take you directly to a filtered inbox view so you can see which potential guests are waiting for a response. It's a relatively simple component, but it gives you visibility into the very beginning of penultimately then. So daily operations was intentionally designed around what is happening today. But many of you used the previous all check-ins, all upcoming check-ins, all upcoming checkouts view for planning several days or several weeks ahead. That's the main feedback that we've received on the dashboard so far. That information is still available in the video on the screen is kind of showing you how to get to it. But we've also made some improvements to it. So yeah, if you click into that full screen view on daily operations component, you'll be able to change from a daily view to a weekly view and a custom date range view as well. The view still exists, but you've told us that it's too difficult to find. So we'll be making some more changes here soon as well that made that a little bit more obvious. We will allow you to view the weekly and custom date views from the dashboard itself, not just the full screen view. will also allow you to set a default timeframe view and make it sticky. So that's coming soon. and then my final slide. so if you want to help shape some of the other future improvements that are coming, if there's a view that you want to see, a notification that's crucial, something that's missing, we're we're still looking for and looking at all of the feedback. So head to the feedback button that's on the dashboard. You can scan the QR code on the screen now. to to leave some feedback on the dashboard. that's all from me. Over to Brian with some success updates. speaker-4: Thanks, Tim. It's actually me, Tony, but I'm here filling in for Brian today, giving you guys some quick tip today for our customer success team. So today's quick tip, we have all these QR codes. Maybe you want your own QR code. Why would you want one? Well, you can use QR codes to point to your own direct booking site. This is an easy way for other people to discover your website. I meet with customers all the time and they're asking, how do people find my website? Well, this is an easy way for people to discover. Guests who are in your property can scan this QR code and discover that you have a direct booking site. It doesn't need to be just in your property. You could share this with other maybe local wedding venues, other vendors in your area that could refer you. So this is a great way to point people to your direct booking site. If you scan this QR code, it'll take you to a site that our team, Gabby and Crystal, built to make your own QR code for your property. So that's today's quick tip: a way for you to make your own QR code. to point to your direct booking site. tomorrow we have a workshop going on. Brittany from the customer success team will be leading that and it's going to be on wait. Hospitable can do that. If you want to figure out what it is that Hospitable can do for you, come to the workshop, scan the QR code. That's going to be tomorrow, 9 a.m. Pacific, 12 p.m. Eastern. Hope you can be there. And then the last thing is if you are looking to understand your plan a little bit more, understand the features that are available to you. Maybe you're you're on the fence about using upsells or a direct booking site, or maybe you don't understand all the plans that are available to you and the features that they have, scan this QR code. It's gonna book a call with myself, Brittany, or Ash, the customer success team. You'll get a one-on-one with us. we'll talk shop, see what things you can be utilizing on your plan. and put it to work for you. So scan this QR code. It'll book a one-on-one with us. And we look forward to meeting with you. And now I'm going to pass over to Miles with some events. speaker-0: Perfect. Yes, thank you very much. Tony, yeah, so coming up with a few events that we have next week. So some of our usual weekly workshops but also a few special edition webinars that we have on. So first off, we have our getting started. So if you're new to hospitable and overwhelmed by all the awesome features that we're talking about and that are an offer, you can join one of these weekly workshops that's gonna show you how to get started and how to get set up. so these happen every Tuesday and our team hosts a session at 9 a.m. Pacific, 12 p.m. Eastern Time or 6 p.m. Central European Time. And all of those sessions are recorded as well. So if you feel a little stuck on getting started, go ahead, scan the QR code, head to the link. The link will also be in the chat. You can go ahead there and you can learn a lot more about getting set up before spitable. Then next up we have another great workshop to get yourself registered for. So short-term rental owners face a unique combination of liability, exposure, and tax opportunity, and most are leaving both unaddressed. So you can join Anderson Business Survivors and Derek from the hospital team for a practical session on how to legally structure your SDR business to protect your assets, preserve your anonymity and reduce your risk from real-world trigging triggering events like guest injuries. property damage and neighbor disputes. So that's on Wednesday, September 9th. That's next Wednesday. And again, you can register by scanning that QR code to watch it live or watch the recording at your own leisure. And as always, we do have these town halls every two weeks. So if you want to make sure that you don't miss the next town hall or the one after that, go ahead, scan the QR code and that will allow you to add our next event to your calendar. And without further ado, I'm gonna hand over to PC again to speak about the host token. PC. Hello everybody again. yeah, talking about the host token. Sorry, I was just on the QA and live chat as much as I can. yeah, we are a bit of a different company, unlike the competitors that you may or may not be familiar with, we are the only last independent company in the space, is that we've not been acquired by basically a private equity firm. so instead we decided to spin our own way on this little run, and that is to allow our customers to be investing into hospitable themselves. you can see here that the latest price of the token. Actually, I didn't upgrade the little red pill, but it's forty-two point fifty one. There was a some some investments since the last town hall, at a two hundred and seventy million dollar valuation, which is still, I believe, discounted if we're taking a normal valuation based on revenue growth that's has been pretty significant over the past quarter or so. so it's still basically if you would like to be investing in making money from hospitable besides our features we can also do that whenever hospitable is sold and there is an exit rather sooner rather than than later. so if you want to you can join the other 200 or so investors. I think it's a bit a bit more On invest.hospitable.com, just I have to say it. I'm sorry if you this is not your first animal, that if you are a resident in the US, I'm going to see an accredited investor verification letter. Please do not submit statements from your brokerage account. I I cannot see that. What I would love to see is basically a letter from a CPA, from a lawyer, from your financial advisor to represent that you are an accredited investor. You have a service that comes in handy for this, which is accredited.am. Most letters that I'm seeing are coming from that service because it's the cheapest and fastest service to get that accredited investor verification letter. What happens if you are not residing in the US? Well, you can invest you can invest without restriction or without evidence of accreditation. There's got to be like everyone else, a little bit of a KYC check. You can start investing from two thousand five hundred dollars. We really wanted to have the amount as democratic as possible. you can invest more, you can invest multiple times. if you want to do so. So if you like, for example, some development that we've shown you today, that's probably a good opportunity to demonstrate that hospitable is more valuable to you and you can take a better, a bigger share of hospitable's cap table. So invet invest.hospitable.com. There are some significant investments that are on the way. so it's I I believe those numbers would change a little bit. by next annal. Now here you go. So this is a slide I think you have added, Miles. Go ahead. yeah, sorry if that's out of order, but just as a reminder, we have had two tons of links in today's town hall. so if you need any of those, you can scan this one QR code and that is gonna be a place to get all of the links in one place. so if you go to hsptbd.com forward slash conversation, that is where you'll have all the links. Petra is going to drop the link. for this in the chat now and then you can go over to the community and get everything that you need that we've talked about today from there as well, including a summary of today's session. And then next up we are gonna move on to the Q<unk>A. so if you do have a question for us, now is the time to raise your hand. so if you go down into the React button at the bottom, you can click raise hand in there, at which point we'll get a nice list of people that want to ask us a question and we're gonna go through it one by one. When we ask you to come on stage, please don't forget to unmute so that we can hear you ask your question. You should have the ability to do so once I've asked you to come on stage. So first off, we have Ignat welcoming you on stage. Hello Ignat. Hello Ignat and thank you for your Facebook post. I think we owe you some. I think Perfectly. How can we help you each other? speaker-4: Can you guys hear me okay? All right, great. thank you guys. Thank you for addressing the issues earlier with the connectivity this week. Thank you for everything that you guys do and making an awesome product. Of course, I've been with you guys since it was smart BNB. So really appreciate you guys and everything that you do. yes, I did a very simple Facebook post about the feature request. we already get notification when a guest is verified. And I know there is also other feature requests for when the rental agreement is verified to set to use that as a trigger for a message. the post I made the feature request I submitted and I put it on Facebook as well, is when the guest is verified and rental agreement is completed, which 99% of the time happens at the same time, they they go to the guest portal and take care of it all at once. So once those two conditions are met, use that as a trigger to send a message. Hey, thanks for Confirming everything, you're all set. We're looking forward to hosting you, something along those lines. It would be I know it'd be super helpful to our operation. there is other requests on rent on the portal for the rental agreement trigger. so I know there is probably thousands of your customers who would appreciate it, those who use the verification. speaker-0: I think that's Julia noted. I I'm gonna have to say that if you want to have your ideas having the best broadcast, I would really recommend you don't do that on Facebook. Because actually the reality of it is that there are probably five people in the company that have that are actually checking on Facebook. so I do, because you guys tag me once in a while, and that can be beneficial. But just please, please, please go to community. I'm trying to get basically we with Petra and Miles to basically pay more attention to that. It's very difficult when we know the conversations are happening elsewhere. Turns out very few of our employees show up with their personal Facebook account or in relation with that job. And why would they? So that's just the first thing. So please, there is five people on the Facebook group, 150 on community. So and we're gonna invest more into community. on the future request, thank you. That's not it. I don't think that's even the first time we're hearing something of that nature. so yeah, it's just basically a matter of prioritization at agencies. I think there w what we're trying to do is trying to get, you know, a great sense of polish. This really goes with that, but there are also customers that have critical issues and we'd like to address those first. and we are attacking them very very aggressively as well, if I may say. So that's what what we're going towards. speaker-4: Yes, I know. And this week was a perfect example. Thank you for s handling that so quickly and efficiently. Appreciate you. speaker-0: Yes. Thank you, Ignat. Love it. speaker-4: Alright, that's all from me. speaker-0: Thank you very much. Thank you. okay. apologies, I forget your actual name. IQI Business Solutions. We've heard you before. Hello again. speaker-2: Yes, yes. Good good day, guys. It's Quentin. sorry, I I can't change my name on here. So it it always shows as my business's name, but good day guys. So just a couple of items. I got really excited when you guys mentioned QR codes. so thanks for setting that forth. wondering. Will we have an the ability to produce QR codes for upsells? I think it would be a huge win fall, as it relates to having momentum to selling those items. very often, when the guest is in the moment and have the need, the ability to present an opportunity to purchase, kind of like a point of sale, would be like clutch. So just curious if you guys are working on that in the background. speaker-3: Hey Quentin, yeah, thanks for the feedback. That's definitely a request we commonly hear and something we want to do eventually in the guest portal. not something that is currently in progress, but but yeah, we we want to make it possible to access the guest portal from a QR code or go straight to a specific upsell from a QR code as well, so that you can have that available in your property and the guests can access it when it's top of mind. speaker-2: cool. Well, well, thank you for having the interest there and hopefully we can get that one rolling. So I I'm looking forward to it. all right. next is just a a small vote of feedback for for the dashboard. really like where we're going with it. in the spirit of at a glance, I think we have an opportunity to kind of shrink like the check in, check out, same day turnover widgets and and Something as simple as like where the count shows having like the name of that count next to it instead of under it, which would shrink it vertically vertically. And then you can see more on the screen on your mobile device. I think would be great. So not a big deal, but just a a a a vote of feedback 'cause I know you guys are actively working on that item. speaker-0: Yeah, lots of white space on the mobile version, is what you're saying. Yes. speaker-2: Yes. And when I first loaded it, before I realized I could move widgets around, it felt useless speaker-0: It's a little bit you speaker-2: to me because I didn't have any check-ins or anything. So I always have to remember to scroll. but I've since then like put other things further at the top, like new booking, so that I can at a glance see things that are more often more important to me. So the ability to customize is great. but specific to that widget, yeah, shrinking that that white spaces would be helpful. speaker-0: Okay, yeah. I think heard loud and clear. Thank you very much for the feedback. speaker-2: Absolutely. That's all we can have, guys. speaker-0: That's speaker-2: Thanks, guys. speaker-0: Thank you very much. okay. hello Michelle. Welcome to you on the Michelle. How can we help you? You can unmute yourself at the bottom left right now. We cannot hear you yet. speaker-3: Hi, can you hear me? speaker-0: Yes, we can hear you now. speaker-3: Hi, so cool. I was wondering if there any way I could share my screen. speaker-5: Unfortunately not. speaker-0: No, that's not gonna be possible. This is a call recorded for all posterity and YouTube has a particular view as to per personal information. we're not gonna be able to do We're gonna we're gonna trust you we're gonna trust whatever you say about what's happening on your screen. speaker-3: Okay, I was hoping it could be used as a tutorial. But on my hospitable, like I have Airbnb and VRBO. My Airbnb does say fully managed. And I have been trying to reach support for a few days now to get my verbo fully managed and I can't figure out how to do it and no one's contacted me about that. speaker-1: Okay. I I mean it's probably something we need to look into. I can I've I've got your name now. I c I can follow up. speaker-0: Is there maybe an upgrade button button on the right side? speaker-3: I have I had pushed that and it had said like to come back on Sunday at whatever time and I did and it's just not going. And then also in the chat you guys had sent me something where it said record my screen so you can see what's going on. And when I did that, that button's not working at all. So it I'm not able to help your speaker-1: Sometimes that's a browser permission issue. there there's a process just to very quickly help maybe help you self diagnose. So when you upgrade, you go into what's called the self service onboarding. So you're actually sent to verbal. Did you go through any of that process and kind of give a credit card for your commission? Did any of that happen yet? speaker-3: I'm not sure I had somebody set this up for me, so I'm just left with the pieces. speaker-1: Okay. Yeah, you should be able to get back into that flow, depending on wherever you left off. But without investigating myself, I'm not sure how much we can help you live now. speaker-3: Okay. And then so speaker-0: Sorry, sorry, if I if I may, just to that point, because that may be interesting for other people, and which was your intention. Whenever we say that it's partly managed, that means you are on our legacy connection, that is the one that relies on a Chrome extension. That means there is a risk of disconnection. And as I've shared a few times, there is gonna be a date where this way to connect with Varbo data is not gonna be made available again. it's not gonna be a decision from hospitable, it's gonna be something that Verbo will no longer be supporting. And unfortunately at this point we'll only be having then the verbo partner integration, which is the state of the art integration that is fully supported by Verbo on their teams and ours as well, of course. So what you're seeing is just an indication that you're on a verbo legacy connection. And so therefore, whenever the time is right for you, that's a great step to upgrade your connection to the verbo partner. You could also go at the top, so depending if you are joining on mobile or desktop or laptop, but basically I recommend you do that on a on a laptop if you can. But basically you can connect with Verbo and go through the steps that will basically start exactly the same process as you would like to integrade the connection. Connect speaker-3: So should I connect it and then speaker-0: the back over again. No, this is not something I've said and this is not something that you should be doing. Keep your connection as it is. We're having some logic behind the scenes to leverage what the data that you already have on your legacy connection and make a smoother transition to the other side on the on the partner integration. So just just connect. We are able to reconcile based on the email. that you of your of your connection so this is not doesn't have to be on the upgrade. But if there is a bug on the on the upgrade button, we we're definitely gonna investigate that. I think Andrew and I were talking a bit earlier about basically this this kind of line that we set up in place a few a few weeks ago to ensure that we can offer great support to people starting on verbo. And now that line is is a bit smaller. So we're gonna be able to to go a bit of an offensive. If there is definitely a bug now on the upgrade button, unfortunately that would be a regression testing. issue, then we'll be able we w we we definitely need to fix it anyway, as a bug. Sorry, that was my my little clarification. Michelle, what was the second question? speaker-3: No, I'm constantly having to log into my tax lodge. what every month that is over so I can report the taxes, hotel taxes for the city and the county that Verbo or Airbnb does not take. So I was wondering if you guys would have some type of integration and to partner with my tax lodge or Avalara in the future. speaker-1: It's it's come up. yeah, the my lodging tax I think a pretty popular integration with a lot of our hosts. yeah, it it's it's it's not on our radar right now. I think we're making a lot of progress on tax visibility and tax management and hospitable. We're gonna be talking about that probably on some upcoming town halls. and that would probably set the foundation for doing an integration like my lodging tax. But yeah, it's good to good to hear it come up again. I think it's it's something we we could consider later down the road. speaker-3: Yeah, thank you. speaker-1: Thank you. speaker-0: It thank you very much. okay, inviting La on stage. Hello La. Hello Lark. How can we help you today? We are not hearing you, but you are unmuted. speaker-4: Hear now. speaker-0: Yes, perfectly. I can work too. speaker-4: Telephone commercial. I am new to hospitable. Not so happy with my first meeting of the onboard, you know, rapid onboarding because it was not rapid in any way. So I've been doing it myself. I come from a little bit of a tech background. I am looking for a diagram, a system diagram that would tell me what information from the OTAs gets pulled in, what information is or isn't being considered by AI. to create my responses, et cetera. Is there someplace I can find this documentation? That would make it so much easier for me rather than sitting and having to sift through the five properties that we started with. I didn't really I've asked a couple of times, did not get a clean answer, got kind of passed over. speaker-1: Yeah, that's that's not something we we would n normally provide. We hope that you don't need that. yeah, it's not the software we're building. W I mean what what what specific speaker-4: When you say it's not the software you're building, this is I'm I'm referencing the the platform and and software and code that you already have. I'm just trying to lower the amount of time that it's taking me to pull the data from the right places. I came into this expecting, I guess maybe it was a quick sell, I'm not sure, that I would be in a position to put the information into hospitable and be able to feed it out to those OTAs to make my life easier. What I found is after that first meeting, that in fact I need to go back to every OTA for every site and update every single piece that I did originally to make sure it's up to, you know, perfect situation, and then pull that into hospitable, which then can spit out from there to a CRM, et cetera. Is that correct? speaker-1: No, I mean that's that's not how we would understand the software to work. That's a that's not the normal onboarding experience for our hosts. So yeah, when I when I said that's not the software we're building, we're not building software that you need a systems diagram to understand it. I'm I'm sorry you've had that experience. I mean, how how did you how did you get started? Did you did you start with a channel connection? Did you start by connecting to a booking platform? speaker-4: I was on Verbo and I was on Airbnb. I previously had been, you know, obviously XpDia is in there. I had previously been on Booking.com, but we stepped away from it from early issues, but I think they're getting better now. and I wanted to get an individual site so that I basically could be out on Google as well. so I jumped in, thought that rapid rapid onboarding would be helping me to do that and said I needed to do it within like the next week. this is very personal stuff, probably not relevant to your other folks. I came into it needing to do the rapid onboarding because I was going to be away for two weeks. And so that didn't happen. I've been spending every waking moment, you know, on vacation that I have to review things and find I really need a picture because what I understood when I joined is not what I'm seeing. I You know, I'm a stubborn person. I'm not gonna start with hospital and jump to something else. and I do love the fact that now, you know, for this this summer, what was left of it, I was able to very quickly respond to folks, which has increased my review. You know, the stars we're getting five stars, right? where before, you know, the individual response that you you provided from an individual OTA was not nearly as concise and clean and and friendly. So that has actually I see the value of hospitable doing that for me. however, I, you know, there's been a lot of rework and I don't want to do that if I join, you know, booking dot com. and again, you know, that's the type of picture I'm looking for. speaker-0: Lark, if I can just jump in. I work directly on the onboarding team. I'm leading the onboarding team. So I will follow up with you personally afterwards to understand your experience with a rapid rollout. It's definitely not something that I'm too happy to hear about. We want to make sure that your experience is a lot better. That's really our goal. So I'll reach out to you for sure directly and we can discuss further. speaker-4: Hey Chris, we you did. I sent you an email back. again, I I your reference was back to the person that did the onboarding with me. And I appreciate your your you know handling one guest to your your daily work compared to thousands, but I I really need to get this up and running so that I can move forward with the next stage for us. is that something we can do this week? speaker-0: Yes, we can definitely follow up. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I can definitely follow up. I I just we'll we'll definitely reach out to you directly and and we'll discuss more. We can definitely get you on your way for sure. Absolutely. speaker-4: Great. Thank you. speaker-0: And just so so if you can stay a bit online just for a little bit, can can you explain to me what this diagram would show? This system diagram would show? We we don't we don't have one. So you know it's just basically we can we can craft it. But but I I just would like to understand because it's probably some the the mental image that you would like to have. in your in your head. So that'll probably be helpful to other people. speaker-4: Okay, so I I was a project my my education speaker-0: Yeah, yeah, we would like to have I would like to have the scope as as a product manager, I would just would like to have the scope of the the interconnection that you're looking on the system on the on the diagram. speaker-4: Right. So as a project manager in technology, the companies that I worked for, we did what was called rational diagrams. And so you have a picture of an actor, looks like a little stick figure person that identifies where a particular integration is taking place, where a function takes place, and you can see start to finish. In that diagram, how things work. It just makes it very, very clean for the person coming in that has absolutely no history or experience with your application or any PMS for that matter, to understand quickly, okay, the information that sits in the welcome message that goes out. It is going to be pulled, it's going to be pulled or it's going to be pushed from here to there. And that just helps from an overall scope for me to know, okay. On verbo, I need to go back in and remove this information from this spot because it's speaker-0: Yeah, I I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna cut you off there. I I'm gonna be joining the call with Chris directly to to basically be understanding a bit more because th this this is very concerning to me about the the request that you would have. This is expected to be orders and magnitude simpler. So this is basically echoing what Andrew said about you shouldn't need a system diagram with a to do list of things that you have to do and correct between the booking platforms. The point is the the PMS is a source of truth, so there are things that should be that are existing on the split table that are pushing, that are broadcasted elsewhere. And we we are we are keeping the ability, pricing, content all managed from within hospitable. So that is the baseline experience. If there is something that diverged from that, it is bad and it's gonna have to be worked on or it's gonna have to be investigated. but that's basically his expectation. So I think you're trying to manage probably some misinformation that you've received from the onboarding team, because that that that doesn't make a ton of sense here. So I I'll be joining I'll be joining the call directly with with Chris. to to understand a bit more what's what's up what's been happening in your case. Okay Lark? Okay. Thank you very much. We're gonna take this offline and we can go over to the the next attendees and s they're we we're curious. We we're curious people we want to understand basically what what's what's happening here in this case. I'm not gonna apologize for other for trying to understand the cust the experience of a customer. Next one Okay Emily welcoming you on stage hello Emily Hello Hello how can we help you? speaker-3: so I just had a quick question about the owner's portal. I just joined in the last few months. and one thing that I'm noticing is if a guest, say I have a guest staying at a property for a month and they started in July, and then they were extending until August. or they extend in August. there's not an extension created in the owner's port to show that revenue to my understanding. Do you guys have any plans to change that in the future or am I just missing something? Hey Emily, Emily here. I I I might need to look into your particular settings. a lot of the financials that are visible in the owner's portal are they they should be matching with what are what's seen on the owner statement and invoices, which are driven by your commission agreement. And it sounds like the commission agreement might have revenue recognized in a way that you're not expecting. There's three options. You can recognize everything on check in where it puts all the revenue on On the check-in date of the reservation or on checkout, or you can prorate it and show it across multiple different months. and then there's another setting in the owner portal where you can whether or not you want to show like unfinalized, that's not the word we use and it's escaping me right now, but like basically unpublished financials, where it's like still in progress or on an open statement. So it might be some combination of those things that are just not configured correctly. so we can look at that and figure that out. And if that's not it and there's a bug, we can look at that too. But I think it's probably just a configuration thing. Okay. Yeah, that'd be great. Yeah, I I do it on check in. and I'd like to keep it that way. but you know, I can always adapt if needed. speaker-0: All right. Thank you very much. Thank you. okay. moving on. we'll try and squeeze in a couple more people. So Thomas inviting you on stage. Hello, Thomas. Hey, thanks for for giving me the option to and I think a lot of people have it when I look at Facebook and the and the community, a little bit of a problem with support. And not that necessarily we have to wait a couple of days for a response. I don't actually mind that. I mind it when it's for an active booking or booking with chain day and you need support immediately. speaker-4: Especially with If there's something wrong with speaker-0: Airbnb, I can always go to Airbnb.com and pick on the side. speaker-4: It on the site if need be. And it happens super rare. It hasn't happened. The RBO doesn't give an option. The RBO says, Nope, you're speaker-0: In a long time. Give us this option. V basically just You're with Hospitable now, go ask them. I literally had some call me last week and tell me, Yeah, this is not on our side, this is with Hospitable, you need to fix this, or you'll be penalized for not hosting this guest that you have accepted. speaker-4: bo came speaker-0: that was a same that was a check in that day I reached out to the court. I have not speaker-4: The support heard back from since the guests have checked out. speaker-0: has by now changed. This problem has never been solved. And I think whatnot. And basically where I'm getting to this is not fix your support whatnot, speaker-4: Or speaker-0: but there has to be some sort of you maybe Smarty can analyze a request speaker-4: a speech responding after request speaker-0: and note of and like note that this is active booking or same day check-in and needs immediate that goes RBO, speaker-4: And those for B. speaker-0: direct, whatever, where we are otherwise speaker-4: Powerless to help. speaker-0: And definitely you can appreciate because you see me on those threads that I feel the pain too. so w w just to to to understand a bit more, what was what was the issue with the with the check-in here? in this case, in this one specific scenario, the issue was that there was a block on the act speaker-4: Calendar but no. speaker-0: of booking, neither in VRBO nor in Hospitable. I can see it on the calendar, and VRBO able speaker-4: could see on the calendar but only on the calendar. speaker-0: to tell me that. speaker-4: We've apparently charged the guest. I could not see it anywhere in hospital. And so he was then able to tell me that I'm getting a payout for this reservation system. And because of because it was an active no automatic no door codes generated, no nothing. speaker-0: So it wasn't an acting. Wasn't an smoking. No automatic messaging. It was the weirdest thing. It is I I did a recording, I sent it to Sub. speaker-4: Fourth. speaker-0: Again, it's sitting I'm apparently number fifty something in the queue now. Yeah. I eventually called the guest. Sorry, let me finish. speaker-4: But forcing verbal again, sorry, let me finish this. I had to force verbal support to give me their phone number so I could call this guest. speaker-0: Because I could not see it in hospital speaker-4: The ball. speaker-0: and I could not see it in VRU. So the level speaker-4: That's kind of the level speaker-0: of I I'm not I'm not mad that this happened. I I I should happen. But speaker-4: We're gonna happens. But speaker-0: that there is no way of like I have an urgent matter that needs immediate support. speaker-4: Earn better. Immediate fixing kind of speaker-0: That is what I find very troubling. Which we we we're totally on the on the same page here. The so Andrew will probably answer on the specific problem because we've also have been on the line here for that for that specific problem, which is a th something that is known and we're look forward to having it resolved. which is a very unfortunate unfortunate and troubling situation, of course. I I'm gonna answer on the on the support angle. so you you could appreciate so we have twenty four thousand customers. We're having Basically just around the same number of conversation volume every month. And there are some things obviously that we know are particularly loud. so Varbo, everything is loud. it's just simply because of indeed, as you said, Varbo's choice to basically delegate the entire support cost to us. and therefore we yeah, we we have to be to have that that entire cost on our business, which I think we we're hoping to have a smaller rollout. a slower rollout, but there was a lot of demand for that integration. and the other part obviously we're dealing with payments. So everything has to do with payment, like for example security deposit, an issue with it, and basically it's gonna be very loud, etc. So we're we're aware of that. What we so it's funny funny enough to say that is the party did give you the right answer, just didn't have an opportunity to act on it. We are one hundred percent focused and that may be very difficult to hear. That we believe that the best answer is the one that's gonna be coming timely, with competence, with a full review of everything. And right now it's gonna be very difficult today, la three months, six months ago, and six months for in the future, to basically bet against AI for for that line of work. This is really the one thing where AI has been has been amazing at it. And we see that on our stats. Obviously, those stats are not published on community, they're not published on Facebook posts, about the satisfaction it brings to users to have A lot of issues resolved immediately without a human, ChatGPT doesn't judge, and you can basically talk everything about your problem. We the the the our internal team is really on a commit to the business to invest a lot of that time to training the AI, make sure it is connected with the rest of the interface and application. I think we I can totally hear you on the fact that we can and probably should, and if we are not already, flagging those reservations that are those those asks that are a little bit more urgent. basically move them at the top of the line. We're also dependent on the software that we use. So I I don't know what we can do on this, but there's definitely an effort that we can have on that. What happens then later, because you're asking about the general situation of support, is basically then it stumbles on 79 people now. Okay, that's we are on a total team size one hundred and fifty, seventy-nine people that are currently on the on the customer support organization, 14 people that are finishing the onboarding, And Nuran, our director of support, is on a mandate to basically recruit seven people every three weeks until we have a responsiveness problem solved. So this is not for like investment, it's just basically the problem is that it takes a lot of training for those people to know what to do. And we we would love to recruit hosts all the time, but we want to have really amazingly competent support people that can do live chat too. and so this is g we know it's gonna take a little bit of time to gain in responsiveness. I th I can I can appreciate the the need for urgent answers. That are beyond the AI, I think the reality is that there is a significant volume that we need to address. What I want to touch on that is that for every support problem, there is an engineer for every for every 10 or 26, that's the number we have, 26 support problems, there is an engineer that needs to fix the product. And so for every flag that the support team is having, it's actually for me very much a product and engineering problem behind the scenes. that is not working quite right. So that's what we're spending also a shit ton of time on and making sure that's working. And one last point, but we're with work in IT, you probably are seeing the same change just as much. There is a fundamental rebalancing of what is expensive in a business, especially in a tech company. A few years ago, we would say that the c the code is very expensive to develop and maintain, where the support is a lot cheaper. So we could basically delegate a lot of that on support. And now, because of AI, that equation has shipped completely, actually, the code is orders of many too cheaper than the cost it can have if we just basically delegate on support, even with all the AI automation. The fact that we have 50% of the company today that basically is just having the day to day of responding to customers is a testament to that. There is a lot more effort on the business to basically respond to its customers rather than just basically developing new stuff. Because it is so much cheaper to to do the code to to fix that. Now, you asked about a specific problem, and I think we're also very frustrated about it. So, Andrew, I think you can share a bit more about the specifics because people hearing that are feeling very anxious about what the hell is going on. You're having phantom reservations on the spitable. Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah, this didn't impact that many reservations, but the impact was obviously huge. it was an issue on Verbo's platform. It was acknowledged pretty quickly after we escalated. We escalated to the global director level to try and get this done because of the size of the impact. it was fixed on August 20th. so about twelve days ago. I don't think we're still seeing any new incidents of that. but yeah, difficult to explain the tactical side, but basically we would We would get a successful reservation from Virgo. We would respond with a successful message, but Virgo would drop the the response and there would be no booking on their side. We would not have a thread then. We would have no information about the guest. We got none of the confirmation from Verbo either, but we had processed the payment and accepted a reservation. We did a lot of engineering effort on our side to try and reconcile those, but in not in all situations. So yours sounded like a situation where really we had nothing to grasp at and no way to even like kind of like identify and recognize. resolution path on those. So some of those were escalated support and were were escal and and were resolved. but a very, very gnarly problem that should never have existed. and we worked a lot of hours to try and over-engineer a solution when we were in the dark. but yeah, that that is resolved according to verbo as of the 20th. speaker-0: Hey, thanks. Thanks both for for the lengthy reply speaker-4: Reply. speaker-0: and and all the explanations. I just wanted to make I just wanted to make sure that you know that I use this example for the issue of not having speaker-4: For any kind of escalation part. speaker-0: right. we we log a ticket, but if we need more speaker-4: Need more speaker-0: help or it has to be in this again, I've I solved this solution. It's it's sorry, I solved this problem, I found a with verbal support, it was all good in the end, right? But if I hadn't been able to do that, if that support guy had not given phone number, then I was in here and nothing, right? So th there is there's just no where I need where I can click escalate. Is not able to realize, speaker-4: No buttons. speaker-0: hey, this is really important. I need to bump this up in the queue or something like that. Right. speaker-4: That's speaker-0: That's basically my gripe. And that's all it's just an FYI. It's there's I know I I understand the issue you're facing. but I feel like looking in the community and the Facebook chats, this is exactly what a lot of users are saying. There's no escalation path. You can send you so I I I I hear you. I think I I can I can hear the pain. we have the full information. so obviously we know every communication that is quite asymmetric. We I think we're right in the in the in the long term. we're we're basically playing on on on all flanks. I'm seeing obviously the the messages that are happening on on on the chat as well. We believe that AI ultimately will be able to give you a timely answer. It requires training, it requires also its own onboarding, it requires its management, and that's something that we're committed to putting resources on. They're also very gnarly issues that need to to have a human on board. So the direction to us is is very clear and we're we're all in agreement. what's happening right now is is is absolutely not not acceptable to to be very clear. And so it's something that takes time because actually the answer is gonna be also on a human. And humans cannot ingest content as fast as AI. So the we need to train them, we need to go deep because the issues that they're experiencing, the issues that they are they're seeing right now are very challenging, are very deep. And they need to have the support systems, the the enablement layer almost, with engineering. to basically to basically support all that those seventy nine people that are currently working in working in support. so this is this is basically our commitment. What we want is getting to a point where we can be gr have a great responsiveness on live chat with a massive part of the workload that is gonna be taken by AI. And when we're there, we're gonna be able to do real live phone support, which is a thing that everybody wants. I just think it would be preposterous of me to say that we're committing to to to this no in the situation right now is basically a leapfrog a situation. We we need to have this kind of momentum on the responsiveness for going deep. Knowing that we're one of the f good you know per per reach scale and the type of customers we have, we basically have to offer live chat within within minutes, whereas I believe that would not be expected of property management software that work with enterprise customers. That may have urgent issues just the same. but they basically have an expectation of response time that is different because you when you work in a business, you have different expectations of response time. So yeah, thank you thank you very much for for the question and the point that was raised. I think this is important to be asking, and it's important for for me to share about where we are in terms of in terms of priorities and progress. Keep investing into support until until everybody will go silent on it. Nobody will throw a parade. Okay, that's a great end to this to this to this tunnel. I think it's the one that I that I wanted to touch on. and yeah, let's see in two weeks where we are. I've been just like you hearing about progress and momentum on it. I am just like you waiting for it to be demonstrated. And so we're gonna see where we are on that side. within within the next few weeks. We believe that those extra fourteen people are gonna make a difference very quickly. even if their performance is not going to be 100% there. So that is what we're what we're after. Thank you so very much. So I hope I'll get your attention in two weeks for the next town hall where we're going to talk a little bit more about Mogul development plans, but something that allows every co-hosting business to to redistribute to more channels. So that's something you've been waiting for for a long time. Thank you everyone. Bye bye.
