- 1:05Speaker 1: Welcome to the newbies. Welcome back to the Overliables and
- 1:08Speaker 1: happy hump day to you. I hope your day is
- 1:13Speaker 1: pleasant and productive. Okay, and I hope that your week
- 1:18Speaker 1: adding up to this day or moving up to this
- 1:21Speaker 1: day was productive. I have something that I want to discuss.
- 1:29Speaker 1: And as a matter of fact, we are currently discussing
- 1:32Speaker 1: it in the Sabbath lesson, but I want to just
- 1:38Speaker 1: build on how it's supposed to be. Okay. And we're
- 1:45Speaker 1: talking about marriage and the, the, The title to this
- 1:51Speaker 1: lecture today is he who has a wife slash how
- 1:56Speaker 1: important is the institution of marriage. So I want to
- 2:00Speaker 1: talk about that because it's very important. It is a
- 2:05Speaker 1: very special interpersonal relationship. OK, so before I go into
- 2:11Speaker 1: this discussion slash lecture. I want to say that I
- 2:15Speaker 1: couldn't possibly provide you with everything that the scriptures have
- 2:20Speaker 1: to say in regards to marriage. Just know that it
- 2:23Speaker 1: is extremely important to have. And once that you are
- 2:27Speaker 1: in a marriage, it's a very important institution. Okay. When
- 2:36Speaker 1: one is able to honor and obey the rules and
- 2:38Speaker 1: regulations of the marriage. I also want you to know
- 2:42Speaker 1: that today within the United States, statistics show that half
- 2:49Speaker 1: of all marriages end in divorce. And this is serious.
- 2:56Speaker 1: But it's understandable simply because. The average person is a carnal,
- 3:01Speaker 1: worldly person, okay? They haven't gotten in touch with their
- 3:07Speaker 1: spiritual side. So they pretty much know themselves, and this
- 3:12Speaker 1: is not in every case, they pretty much know themselves
- 3:14Speaker 1: as a earthly, worldly, carnal person, okay? And what does
- 3:19Speaker 1: that mean in the world? I want stuff now. All
- 3:24Speaker 1: of these expectations are unrealistic, blah, blah, blah. So once
- 3:29Speaker 1: we know who we are spiritually, we know who we
- 3:33Speaker 1: belong to, then we can act accordingly. But until then,
- 3:38Speaker 1: people are just going to continue to behave in a
- 3:42Speaker 1: carnal manner, okay? So that's why I said, um, it's
- 3:49Speaker 1: understandable that many divorces and, um, excuse me, many marriages
- 3:54Speaker 1: and then divorce half because more than half actually, because
- 3:59Speaker 1: people don't see it as a spiritual institution. Okay. So, um,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and the average person doesn't understand spiritual things, nor do
- 4:10Speaker 1: they walk in the spirit in order to receive the
- 4:12Speaker 1: spiritual understanding of how, um, spiritual marriage is and how
- 4:19Speaker 1: it relates to the Most High. I'm a little congested
- 4:25Speaker 1: and I'm trying not to lose my voice so please
- 4:27Speaker 1: just be patient with me. So we will be discussing
- 4:33Speaker 1: marriage today and the reason why is because all throughout
- 4:37Speaker 1: the scriptures the quote-unquote union of both parties is um
- 4:43Speaker 1: the most high and his chosen people are the main
- 4:46Speaker 1: characters of every cipher within the book of the bible
- 4:54Speaker 1: and i'll just break it down even easier for you
- 4:56Speaker 1: to understand within those scriptures within the scriptures of the
- 5:00Speaker 1: bible because there's 66 books little books big books in
- 5:05Speaker 1: this one thing called the bible much of the running
- 5:08Speaker 1: theme is the union or marriage between the Most High
- 5:13Speaker 1: and the children of Israel. We talk about this all
- 5:15Speaker 1: the time, but now I'm building on it in regards
- 5:19Speaker 1: to marriage because marriage mimics, a marriage between a man
- 5:23Speaker 1: and a woman mimics the Most High's relationship between himself
- 5:29Speaker 1: and his bride who are the children of Israel and
- 5:32Speaker 1: later on the two flocks, okay? This is how important
- 5:36Speaker 1: it is, okay? So like I said, within the scriptures,
- 5:42Speaker 1: the union of both parties, which is the Most High
- 5:45Speaker 1: and his chosen people, are mimicked within each relationship, okay?
- 5:51Speaker 1: And that's how it's supposed to be, okay? It's a
- 5:58Speaker 1: illustration of the Most High's relationship with his people. And
- 6:02Speaker 1: that's what marriage is, okay? That illustration of how the
- 6:05Speaker 1: Most High is with his children slash bride slash assembly, okay?
- 6:13Speaker 1: And how you're supposed to conduct yourself in a marriage, okay?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Like I said, the running theme of the Seafirst is
- 6:22Speaker 1: that the Most High has chosen and proclaimed a wife.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And this wife, even though he chose her and he
- 6:30Speaker 1: told her what to do and how to stay faithful,
- 6:33Speaker 1: she's gone astray since the beginning. But in the end, she,
- 6:39Speaker 1: as the assembly, the bride, will come back to the
- 6:42Speaker 1: Most High and be restored. But that's not until a
- 6:47Speaker 1: whole bunch of stuff has to happen. Because sometimes people
- 6:51Speaker 1: have to be shown what to do and not just
- 6:56Speaker 1: spoken to in regards to what they're supposed to do.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Because a lot of times people are not going to
- 7:01Speaker 1: listen until they go through hell and high water and
- 7:03Speaker 1: find out what it is. Okay? Okay. We are actually
- 7:08Speaker 1: reading about this now because we're in the book of
- 7:11Speaker 1: Hosea and he is being told to go get himself
- 7:15Speaker 1: a woman as a hoe. Okay. And he has to
- 7:19Speaker 1: deal with all of his woman's whorish ways. Okay. And
- 7:26Speaker 1: this is not only embarrassing and a bad reflection on him,
- 7:31Speaker 1: but also to the whole family. And this is why
- 7:34Speaker 1: we're in the position we're in people. Okay, this is
- 7:37Speaker 1: what the Most High is dealing with right now with
- 7:39Speaker 1: his children, who is Israel, both flocks. Okay, they have
- 7:46Speaker 1: been whoremongering for centuries. And this is why Jacob has trouble. Okay,
- 7:52Speaker 1: aka Jacob is being humiliated. And while Jacob is being
- 7:56Speaker 1: humiliated for insubordination, refusing to adhere to the word of
- 8:00Speaker 1: the Most High and be connected in a marriage with
- 8:03Speaker 1: the Most High. This allows other things to come into fruition,
- 8:09Speaker 1: like the heathens being able to abuse the children and
- 8:20Speaker 1: go all over the earth and tread down the earth
- 8:22Speaker 1: until their time is up, okay? Because when the children
- 8:26Speaker 1: don't listen, all kinds of stuff happens. It's not just
- 8:29Speaker 1: them being controlled by other heathen nations. It's the whole
- 8:35Speaker 1: world being under that control, okay? These things happen because
- 8:40Speaker 1: the children refuse to turn from their wicked ways and repent.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And this is important because this marriage has rules and
- 8:47Speaker 1: regulations that we, as the children of Israel and the
- 8:50Speaker 1: second flock, need to abide by. I say all this
- 8:54Speaker 1: to say that if marriage is sacred and it's a
- 8:58Speaker 1: strong institution, why does the average person not respect it?
- 9:02Speaker 1: You have to ask yourself the question. This is why
- 9:06Speaker 1: there's so many divorces. Never mind the spiritual institution of
- 9:11Speaker 1: marriage that they are supposed to be adhering to as
- 9:15Speaker 1: directed to the children of Israel by the Most High.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Because everything is an illustration of how the Most High
- 9:24Speaker 1: is treating children of Israel. And their marriage, their connection
- 9:30Speaker 1: and their union. In the beginning of scripture, when Adam
- 9:34Speaker 1: was created, he was alone. And the Most High did
- 9:38Speaker 1: not want Adam to be alone. So he created a
- 9:41Speaker 1: quote-unquote helpmate for Adam so that he didn't have to
- 9:44Speaker 1: be alone. And remember, what goes on on earth also
- 9:49Speaker 1: goes on in heaven, as the prayer says, on earth
- 9:53Speaker 1: as it is in heaven. So if you think about it,
- 9:58Speaker 1: Adam was never alone because the most high made Adam
- 10:01Speaker 1: a mate before the foundation of the world before anyone
- 10:04Speaker 1: was made on earth so he already had a mate
- 10:07Speaker 1: before all of this okay spiritually he had a mate
- 10:10Speaker 1: before he was physically um connected to a mate and
- 10:17Speaker 1: that So now I'm going to define marriage. And then
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'm going to discuss how important it is when you're
- 10:28Speaker 1: in the institution of marriage and how it relates to
- 10:30Speaker 1: the most high and his bride. Okay, because it's the
- 10:34Speaker 1: illustration of the relationship between the most high and his bride. Okay.
- 10:42Speaker 1: So marriage, according to the Webster's Dictionary, is a noun.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And the synonyms of marriage is wedlock, matrimony, commitment, promise, attachment, betrothal. Okay,
- 11:05Speaker 1: and the definition is a few. So it's the state
- 11:11Speaker 1: of being united as spouses in a contractual relationship recognized
- 11:17Speaker 1: by law. Okay, and then the second definition is the
- 11:22Speaker 1: mutual relation of married persons, wedlock. Okay, they are related
- 11:28Speaker 1: by marriage. And the third is an intimate or close union,
- 11:33Speaker 1: the marriage of two people. Okay, and that is certainly
- 11:41Speaker 1: not the last of the definitions, but it's an important definition. definition,
- 11:48Speaker 1: the ones that I read. So we don't have to
- 11:51Speaker 1: go any further. The importance of the institution of marriage
- 11:58Speaker 1: is something that people need to consider and keep in
- 12:02Speaker 1: the forefront of their mind. The word marriage appears in
- 12:06Speaker 1: early chapters of scripture as a part of the foundational
- 12:10Speaker 1: design for man. Genesis 2 and 24 says, For this reason,
- 12:17Speaker 1: a man will leave his father and his mother and
- 12:20Speaker 1: be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
- 12:24Speaker 1: This provides the foundation of biblical marriage, a man, a woman,
- 12:29Speaker 1: and a unique bond that unites them. It's a covenantal
- 12:38Speaker 1: bond that unites them in a life-long commitment. And there
- 12:47Speaker 1: are only two ways that this covenant, this special covenant,
- 12:51Speaker 1: will be broken, okay? And that's either cheating or death.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Those are the only two ways they're supposed to be broken.
- 12:59Speaker 1: And this is all throughout the scriptures. I'm just giving
- 13:01Speaker 1: you a little bit of FYIs in the scriptures. This
- 13:06Speaker 1: breaks the covenant. But remember, this is a spiritual marriage, okay?
- 13:11Speaker 1: Malachi 2 and 14 refers to marriage as a covenant
- 13:15Speaker 1: with your wife, focusing on its sacred nature. Unlike legal agreements,
- 13:21Speaker 1: biblical covenants involve a solemn binding commitment before the Most High.
- 13:29Speaker 1: This understanding of marriage extends throughout both the Old and
- 13:33Speaker 1: New Testaments, highlighting the divine aspect in uniting husband and wife.
- 13:41Speaker 1: There are scriptures that discuss faithfulness in marriage. It often
- 13:47Speaker 1: uses a covenantal language tied to the Most High's own
- 13:54Speaker 1: faithfulness towards his people. This focuses on a key principle.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Just as the Most High remains faithful to his covenant promises,
- 14:03Speaker 1: spouses are are called to match, meet, and measure up
- 14:08Speaker 1: to that same steadfastness within the marriage bond. In terms
- 14:13Speaker 1: of a marriage as one man and one woman, from
- 14:17Speaker 1: the creation narrative forward, the scriptural pattern presents marriage uniquely
- 14:25Speaker 1: as the union of one man and one woman. Yeshua
- 14:29Speaker 1: cites Genesis when discussing marriage. And he says, from the
- 14:35Speaker 1: beginning of creation, YAH made them male and female. For
- 14:38Speaker 1: this reason, a man will leave his father and his
- 14:41Speaker 1: mother and be united to his wife, and the two
- 14:44Speaker 1: will become one flesh. So they are no longer two,
- 14:48Speaker 1: but one flesh. And that is Mark 10, 6-8. This
- 14:52Speaker 1: teaching resonates throughout the scripture and reiterates the passages that
- 15:00Speaker 1: Like Ephesians 5 and 31. For this reason, a man
- 15:04Speaker 1: will leave his father and his mother and be joined
- 15:07Speaker 1: to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You see how many times they talk about marriage? And
- 15:17Speaker 1: just an FYI, although having more than one wife, because
- 15:20Speaker 1: that's also spoken of, may appear in certain narratives within
- 15:25Speaker 1: the Old Testament. Careful reading reveals that these instances never
- 15:31Speaker 1: equate to the Most High's ideals presented at creation. and
- 15:36Speaker 1: reaffirmed by Yeshua, okay? So this means that even though
- 15:42Speaker 1: some people took more than one wife, it doesn't mean
- 15:45Speaker 1: that you can, okay? And we also see this in
- 15:50Speaker 1: Deuteronomy 17, 17, which is one of the 613 laws
- 15:54Speaker 1: of the children of Israel, which we did discuss when
- 15:58Speaker 1: I was reading the laws in 2021 and in 2022, okay? Okay?
- 16:03Speaker 1: So for any of those people who say, oh, yeah,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you can have more than one wife. That's not what
- 16:10Speaker 1: it says. Deuteronomy 1717 speaks otherwise. Okay. And I already
- 16:16Speaker 1: said this in 2021 and reiterated in 2022. Okay. The
- 16:22Speaker 1: purpose and significance of this institution we call marriage. Biblically,
- 16:28Speaker 1: marriage has multiple, excuse me, multiple dimensions of purpose. And
- 16:36Speaker 1: they're not listed in any specific order. I'm just putting
- 16:40Speaker 1: them together so that you understand the dimensions of marriage.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Companionship is a purpose and Genesis 2 and 18 states
- 16:54Speaker 1: that it is not good for a man to be alone.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I will make for him a suitable helper. The complementary
- 17:03Speaker 1: nature of the husband and wife meets the man's relational needs.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And then we have procreation, the purpose. of getting together.
- 17:19Speaker 1: It's beneficial in nature, which the most high is beneficial.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I already told you, be fruitful and multiply. Everything that
- 17:26Speaker 1: the most high does is beneficial. It doesn't hinder you, okay?
- 17:31Speaker 1: The first command given to man was to be fruitful
- 17:34Speaker 1: and multiply. Genesis 1 and 28 indicated that marriage is
- 17:40Speaker 1: the design context for bearing and raising children, okay? Mutual support,
- 17:50Speaker 1: which is another benefit. Marriage provides emotional, spiritual, and practical support.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Ecclesiastes 4 and 9 says the two are better than
- 18:00Speaker 1: one because they have a good return for their labor,
- 18:04Speaker 1: explaining the cooperative relationship that marriage fosters. Another benefit and
- 18:15Speaker 1: significant benefit part of marriage is unity. Genesis 2 and
- 18:23Speaker 1: 24 says, becoming one flesh involves emotional, spiritual, and physical oneness, fruitfulness, okay?
- 18:32Speaker 1: Which is fruitfulness, that oneness, that coming together, okay? Genesis
- 18:38Speaker 1: 1 and 28, again, says that marriage supports the family
- 18:42Speaker 1: formation and raising faithful offspring, okay? Last, but certainly not least,
- 18:55Speaker 1: a reflection of divine love. In the New Testament, the
- 19:01Speaker 1: marital relationship becomes the blueprint for Yahshua's relationship with the
- 19:05Speaker 1: assembly and Yah's relationship in the Old Testament with the assembly,
- 19:10Speaker 1: emphasizing sacrificial love and unity. Okay, and that would be
- 19:16Speaker 1: Ephesians 5, 25 through 27. Now I'm going to give
- 19:21Speaker 1: you some marriage examples, okay? Beyond Genesis, other Old and
- 19:30Speaker 1: New Testament passages provide us with solid explanations of the
- 19:35Speaker 1: sacredness of marriage, okay? And like I said, it's not
- 19:40Speaker 1: in any particular order. I'm just listing. Marriage as Yah's
- 19:46Speaker 1: design is created by Yah and Eden Marriage began before sin,
- 19:51Speaker 1: showing its foundational importance. And that's Genesis 2 and 24.
- 19:55Speaker 1: And it establishes the pattern of leaving, cleaving, and becoming
- 20:01Speaker 1: one flesh. A covenant, which is more sacred than a contract.
- 20:08Speaker 1: scripture consistently describes marriage as a covenant, binding, sacred, and
- 20:13Speaker 1: witnessed by the Most High. Hosea's covenant, which is an example,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and commitment to Goma, even though she's a whore, which
- 20:22Speaker 1: gives us an example of Hosea's steadfast love mirroring the
- 20:28Speaker 1: Most High's faithfulness to Israel. And that's Hosea 1 through 3,
- 20:32Speaker 1: which I actually read. Remember, we are in Hosea. If
- 20:37Speaker 1: Ruth's loyalty to Naomi and subsequent marriage to Boaz, which
- 20:43Speaker 1: underscores the importance of redemption and covenant functions within family life.
- 20:49Speaker 1: And that's, um, the book of Ruth one through four.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And that is very important because, uh, in a marriage,
- 21:00Speaker 1: you want to be loyal. You want to be faithful. Okay. And, um,
- 21:06Speaker 1: It's not only a piece of paper, okay? You can
- 21:11Speaker 1: call different types of interpersonal relationships marriages, okay? As long
- 21:17Speaker 1: as you have the same formula that's used in a marriage,
- 21:22Speaker 1: like being faithful, okay? And loyal. Even friendships have that.
- 21:28Speaker 1: It's like a marriage, okay? Because you can mess up
- 21:32Speaker 1: a friendship And you will have a loss just like
- 21:36Speaker 1: it is marriage, okay? So marriage reflects the Most High's character.
- 21:42Speaker 1: It's an illustration of Yahshua and the assembly from the
- 21:46Speaker 1: children of Israel. Paul, Shaul, teaches us that marriage mirrors
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yahshua's sacrificial love and the children's devotion, okay? And it's
- 21:57Speaker 1: Ephesians 5. 25 to 32. A living metaphor of the
- 22:03Speaker 1: good news, which is the gospel. Husbands and wives demonstrate grace, forgiveness,
- 22:08Speaker 1: and unity, revealing the Most High's character in the world. Okay,
- 22:13Speaker 1: this is how important marriage is. Marriage matters to the
- 22:18Speaker 1: Most High because it's built to reflect his image. Male
- 22:23Speaker 1: and female together bear the Most High's image in a unique,
- 22:27Speaker 1: rational way. Marriage's importance to Yah is rooted in creation, covenant,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and its role as a living picture of Yah's love
- 22:37Speaker 1: and faithfulness. It strengthens society, marriage. Scripture and research show
- 22:46Speaker 1: marriages live according to the Most High's design, produce stability
- 22:52Speaker 1: and resilience. It teaches divine love. The covenantal nature of
- 22:58Speaker 1: marriage mirrors the Most High's unwavering commitment to his people.
- 23:03Speaker 1: And last but not least, marriage is important, but not only.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Let me say this again. Marriage is important, but not
- 23:16Speaker 1: the only calling, okay? It's not the only calling for
- 23:19Speaker 1: you to be married, okay? While marriage is deeply significant,
- 23:25Speaker 1: scripture also honors singleness. Its importance does not diminish the
- 23:31Speaker 1: value of those who are unmarried, rather it highlights the
- 23:35Speaker 1: most highest purposes for those called to marriage, meaning if
- 23:42Speaker 1: you're not married, it's I'm not going to say it's
- 23:44Speaker 1: not a big sin, but it's not such a big
- 23:47Speaker 1: deal that you just got to go grab anybody. Remember,
- 23:51Speaker 1: marriage is a spiritual thing. Marriage is just not, oh,
- 23:54Speaker 1: I'm going to go get myself a man because that's
- 23:57Speaker 1: not how it works. Scripture says, and Solomon is the
- 24:03Speaker 1: one who said it, that wait for the most high
- 24:06Speaker 1: to send you your mate. And that's the problem why
- 24:10Speaker 1: half of marriages, especially in the United States, And then
- 24:13Speaker 1: divorce because they're not spiritual enough to understand that you
- 24:17Speaker 1: must wait for your mate. You must wait for your mate.
- 24:21Speaker 1: You just don't grab somebody and go, oh yeah, God
- 24:23Speaker 1: told me to do this and do that. And the
- 24:25Speaker 1: next thing you know, six months, 10 months, a year,
- 24:28Speaker 1: five years later, you're getting a divorce. No, no, no, no, no.
- 24:32Speaker 1: You must wait for the most hard to send you
- 24:34Speaker 1: your mate. This is spiritual. This is not, oh, I'm
- 24:37Speaker 1: going to go grab me anybody. And this is why
- 24:40Speaker 1: people are disillusioned with marriage because they have no idea
- 24:44Speaker 1: what marriage really is. It's a spiritual thing. It's not, oh,
- 24:49Speaker 1: I'm just going to go get me somebody of flesh, honey.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I'm going to go get me a man or I'm
- 24:54Speaker 1: going to go get me a woman or any piece
- 24:56Speaker 1: of man or any piece of woman will do. I'm
- 24:58Speaker 1: going to sit here and I'm going to suffer and
- 25:00Speaker 1: I'm going to allow them to do whatever for the
- 25:02Speaker 1: sake of being married or in a marriage. That's not
- 25:06Speaker 1: what it's about. Okay. Okay. Some people wait as long
- 25:12Speaker 1: as it takes for them to get a mate that
- 25:16Speaker 1: the Most High sends them. And I'm going to tell
- 25:17Speaker 1: you why. You have to be ready for marriage. Okay?
- 25:23Speaker 1: Marriage is just not a word. Marriage is just not
- 25:26Speaker 1: an experience. You have to be ready for marriage. Just
- 25:29Speaker 1: like the prophets had to be ready for prophecy. In
- 25:32Speaker 1: order for them to be ready for prophecy, they had
- 25:35Speaker 1: to be built ready. Like sparring athletes. Because the things
- 25:41Speaker 1: that the Most High was putting on them was heavy.
- 25:45Speaker 1: And that's how marriage is too. When you take those
- 25:48Speaker 1: vows and those words come down, they mean something. You're
- 25:52Speaker 1: not going to always be in the best state. You're
- 25:55Speaker 1: not going to always be healthy. You're not going to
- 25:57Speaker 1: always be emotionally functioned in a clear head space. Things
- 26:02Speaker 1: are going to happen that's going to change you. Either
- 26:05Speaker 1: you're going to stagnate or you're going to grow. But
- 26:08Speaker 1: if you're in that marriage, then you help one another.
- 26:12Speaker 1: And this is what it's about. It's not about, oh,
- 26:14Speaker 1: I'm going to go get me somebody. Oh, I got
- 26:16Speaker 1: me a man. I got me a husband. I got
- 26:17Speaker 1: me a wife. I got me a woman. No. It's
- 26:21Speaker 1: about learning and growing. Learning how to become one. Okay?
- 26:27Speaker 1: Learning to sacrifice. Learning to come together. You're not going
- 26:32Speaker 1: to always want the same things. You're not going to
- 26:35Speaker 1: always like that person you're married to. OK, so like
- 26:39Speaker 1: I said, just like the most high had to whip
- 26:43Speaker 1: the prophets in shape for prophecy to communicate it. That's
- 26:47Speaker 1: how the most high has to get you. The most
- 26:49Speaker 1: high has to whip you in shape to be a
- 26:51Speaker 1: good husband or a good wife to whoever it is
- 26:55Speaker 1: that he's going to bring in your life. And that
- 26:57Speaker 1: person is going to compliment you. Is that person going
- 26:59Speaker 1: to always be your favorite person in the world? No.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Because everybody loves the thought of being married. But everybody
- 27:11Speaker 1: can't handle the situation of marriage, number one. And number two,
- 27:14Speaker 1: people take it upon themselves to go get married to
- 27:18Speaker 1: somebody because they want a man or a woman. Instead
- 27:21Speaker 1: of improving yourself, allowing the most high to deal with
- 27:24Speaker 1: you so that he can send you the mate that
- 27:26Speaker 1: you deserve and you stay together. And that's how it's
- 27:30Speaker 1: supposed to be. Okay? So we see how marriage is
- 27:36Speaker 1: extremely important to the Most High because he created it
- 27:40Speaker 1: as a sacred covenant, okay? And we go back to
- 27:44Speaker 1: Genesis 2 and 24 that reflects his faithfulness and the
- 27:48Speaker 1: relationship between the Most High, who is Yeshua in the flesh,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and the assembly. And this also points to Ephesians 5,
- 27:57Speaker 1: 25 through 32. So this is not just a legal
- 28:01Speaker 1: or emotional arrangement, okay? but a divine institution designed for unity, holiness, companionship,
- 28:11Speaker 1: and displaying the Most High's glory, perfection, and love. Okay?
- 28:16Speaker 1: You're supposed to mimic the Most High when you're in
- 28:20Speaker 1: a marriage. Okay? So now I'm going to read some
- 28:24Speaker 1: scriptures in regards to marriage. And like I said, this
- 28:26Speaker 1: is not... I can definitely... build on what the scriptures
- 28:34Speaker 1: say in regards to marriage. But I'm trying to make
- 28:37Speaker 1: it as short as sweet as possible because it's huge, okay?
- 28:42Speaker 1: But I need you to know how wonderful it can
- 28:48Speaker 1: be once it's done correctly, okay? So I'm going to
- 28:51Speaker 1: read some scriptures. And these are scriptural verses regarding marriage. Now,
- 28:57Speaker 1: by no means, like I said, is this every... scripture,
- 29:01Speaker 1: but it's some important scriptures in regards to marriage. Like
- 29:04Speaker 1: I said, this whole book, the whole book of the
- 29:06Speaker 1: children of Israel, which they call the Bible today, but
- 29:09Speaker 1: all of the sephirs within that book of the Bible
- 29:14Speaker 1: is an illustration of the connection or the marriage between
- 29:18Speaker 1: the Mosai and the children of Israel and their faithfulness
- 29:22Speaker 1: and faithlessness and what happens when they're not faithful in
- 29:26Speaker 1: the marriage. That's what this whole book is about. Okay,
- 29:29Speaker 1: so Genesis 2 and 18, all from the ESV, English
- 29:33Speaker 1: Standard Version, when the Most High said, it is not
- 29:37Speaker 1: good that man should be alone. I will make for
- 29:43Speaker 1: him a helper. Okay. And then Genesis 2 and 24
- 29:47Speaker 1: says this. Therefore, a man shall leave his father and
- 29:55Speaker 1: his mother and hold fast to his wife and they
- 29:59Speaker 1: shall become one flesh. Now, remember I said this was
- 30:02Speaker 1: done before the foundation of the world. So it was
- 30:04Speaker 1: already done in heaven before it was done on earth.
- 30:07Speaker 1: So therefore, you know that a man and a woman
- 30:10Speaker 1: is supposed to be together. Okay. Oh, that's a loaded one.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I could definitely go somewhere else with that, but I'm
- 30:18Speaker 1: just letting you know. Okay. Okay. Hebrews, and I'm going
- 30:22Speaker 1: to be reading Old and New Testament scriptures, okay? Hebrews
- 30:26Speaker 1: 13 and 4, all ESV, English Danvers. Let marriage be
- 30:31Speaker 1: held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed
- 30:35Speaker 1: be undefiled. For the Most High will judge the sexually
- 30:39Speaker 1: immoral and the adulterous. Okay? Proverbs 18 and 22, and
- 30:48Speaker 1: I feel like this is my favorite one he who
- 30:52Speaker 1: finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor
- 30:56Speaker 1: from the most high that's one of my favorite ones
- 30:59Speaker 1: because my husband is definitely definitely lucky to have me
- 31:06Speaker 1: okay um second corinthians 6 and 14 Do not be
- 31:13Speaker 1: unequally yoked with unbelievers. Say what? This is why there's
- 31:17Speaker 1: a half divorce rate, a large percentage. Do not be
- 31:22Speaker 1: unequally yoked with unbelievers. This is the desperate people that's
- 31:25Speaker 1: just going to grab anybody. For what partnership has righteousness
- 31:31Speaker 1: with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? That's right.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Some people just connect their little wagons onto anybody, right?
- 31:41Speaker 1: And it's not good. It's not good. Okay? 1 Peter
- 31:49Speaker 1: 3 and 7. Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in
- 31:53Speaker 1: an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the
- 31:57Speaker 1: weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the
- 32:01Speaker 1: grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
- 32:05Speaker 1: That's right. And we know in the scriptures that a
- 32:11Speaker 1: lot of times these situations are focused on men and
- 32:18Speaker 1: less about women, even though women have an equal experience
- 32:25Speaker 1: in the scriptures. Okay. Just like there's male prophets and
- 32:32Speaker 1: male prophets. men, male men, guys that led the nations
- 32:43Speaker 1: of Israel in war and whatever else, there's also females
- 32:46Speaker 1: that have done that. There's prophetesses and there's females that
- 32:50Speaker 1: have led wars. There have been female queens, et cetera,
- 32:54Speaker 1: et cetera, except it's not a focus on them. It's
- 33:01Speaker 1: a focus more on males, whereas females have also done
- 33:06Speaker 1: some spectacular things within these scriptures. And they have been
- 33:12Speaker 1: more than helpers in the scriptures, okay? They have taken
- 33:17Speaker 1: leadership roles and they are the navigators to the captains.
- 33:23Speaker 1: It just is what it is, okay? They're just as
- 33:26Speaker 1: important as mail. I'm drinking, sorry. Mark 10 and 9.
- 33:48Speaker 1: What therefore the Most High has joined together, let no
- 33:51Speaker 1: man separate. And that is actually a part of vows.
- 33:55Speaker 1: That's right. Let no man separate. What the Most High
- 33:59Speaker 1: has joined together. This is what I mean in regards
- 34:02Speaker 1: to having a mate. And allowing the Most High to
- 34:08Speaker 1: send you your mate. This way, nobody can separate it. Nobody. Okay?
- 34:17Speaker 1: Even on your worst day of matrimony, no man can
- 34:21Speaker 1: separate it if the Most High sent you your mate. Okay?
- 34:27Speaker 1: Matthew 19 and 9. And I say to you, whoever
- 34:32Speaker 1: divorces his wife except for sexual immorality and marries another
- 34:36Speaker 1: commits adultery. Now that's a loaded one. And I will
- 34:42Speaker 1: say this again. Some people take it upon themselves to
- 34:46Speaker 1: grab who they believe is going to be a good
- 34:49Speaker 1: partner to them. And then later on down the line,
- 34:52Speaker 1: they get a divorce. Why? Because they're living carnally. They're
- 34:56Speaker 1: thinking carnally. They're behaving carnally. Their outlook is carnal. That's why.
- 35:03Speaker 1: They're not in the will of the most high. They
- 35:04Speaker 1: haven't elevated. The most high has not worked on them.
- 35:07Speaker 1: The most high has not put them in a position
- 35:09Speaker 1: to be able to have a life partner. They did
- 35:13Speaker 1: it all on their own. They keep talking about, oh yeah,
- 35:14Speaker 1: God sent me this person. Okay, fine. God did send
- 35:17Speaker 1: you that, but not the most high. Okay? 1 Corinthians
- 35:21Speaker 1: 7 and 39. A wife is bound to her husband
- 35:30Speaker 1: as long as he lives. But if her husband dies,
- 35:34Speaker 1: she is free to be married to whom she wishes
- 35:37Speaker 1: only in the most high. I already told you there's
- 35:40Speaker 1: two ways to break the covenant according to the most
- 35:44Speaker 1: high sexual immorality or death. That's the end of the contract. Okay.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Of marriage. That's the end. OK, because you're not faithful.
- 36:00Speaker 1: You broke the contract and you die. The contract is
- 36:05Speaker 1: broken because the other person is gone. So that is
- 36:08Speaker 1: how the Most High makes it. When you're in the
- 36:11Speaker 1: true will of the Most High, you're in the spiritual
- 36:14Speaker 1: will of the Most High. OK, Colossians 3, 18 and 19. Wives,
- 36:20Speaker 1: submit to your husbands. As is fitting to the most high. Husbands,
- 36:24Speaker 1: love your wives and do not be harsh with them
- 36:27Speaker 1: or to them. Okay. Mark 10, 8 through 12. And
- 36:50Speaker 1: I think I read a piece of it, but I'm
- 36:52Speaker 1: going to read the whole thing because I already read
- 36:54Speaker 1: one piece, which I read Mark 10 and 9. What
- 36:59Speaker 1: it says here, and the two shall become one flesh
- 37:02Speaker 1: so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.
- 37:05Speaker 1: What the what therefore the most high has joined together,
- 37:08Speaker 1: let no man separate and in the house. The disciples
- 37:13Speaker 1: asked him again, what about this manna? This manna, excuse me.
- 37:18Speaker 1: And he said to them, whoever divorces his wife and
- 37:20Speaker 1: marries another commits adultery against her. And if she divorces
- 37:24Speaker 1: her husband and marries another, she commits adultery. So that's
- 37:27Speaker 1: what the Most High is saying. He specifically, who is
- 37:30Speaker 1: Yeshua in the flesh? He's specifically letting you know. There's
- 37:32Speaker 1: only two ways that you could get out of that contract.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But the thing is this. So if one person does
- 37:46Speaker 1: commit adultery and you do divorce her and you marry
- 37:55Speaker 1: somebody else, you commit an adultery because marriage is supposed
- 37:59Speaker 1: to be for the lifetime of the people in the contract. Okay. Okay.
- 38:06Speaker 1: And today, it's not honored. Today is anything goes when
- 38:10Speaker 1: it comes to hoes. That's why I keep saying the
- 38:12Speaker 1: stuff I say. Some people think like, what is she saying?
- 38:15Speaker 1: Why does she keep saying all this crazy stuff? I'm
- 38:18Speaker 1: telling you why I'm saying it. Because I'm going according
- 38:20Speaker 1: to the scriptures. Anything does go when it comes to
- 38:23Speaker 1: a hoe. Because a hoe will allow you to do
- 38:26Speaker 1: anything to them as long as you're paying them, as
- 38:27Speaker 1: long as you're giving them what they want. And this
- 38:32Speaker 1: is what's going on in these marriages. You don't get
- 38:35Speaker 1: what you want, you leave it. Okay, I'm going to
- 38:37Speaker 1: pimp myself until I can get everything I want and
- 38:40Speaker 1: then when I can't get it no more, I'm out.
- 38:42Speaker 1: That's not how it's supposed to be. Okay? 1 Corinthians
- 38:49Speaker 1: 7 and 2, but because of the temptation of sexual immorality,
- 38:53Speaker 1: each man should have his own wife and each woman
- 38:55Speaker 1: her own husband. Now, Shaul says this, but again, I
- 39:04Speaker 1: would have to refer to Solomon, who was the smartest
- 39:09Speaker 1: person ever. And he says, wait for the most high
- 39:13Speaker 1: to send you your mate. You don't just go and
- 39:16Speaker 1: grab anybody. Okay. You don't just go and grab anybody.
- 39:21Speaker 1: You have to be able to be in a marriage.
- 39:26Speaker 1: And please don't misunderstand me when I say um the
- 39:32Speaker 1: marriage is um meant for a lifelong commitment and you're
- 39:36Speaker 1: not able to fulfill that commitment that means your marriage
- 39:41Speaker 1: is dysfunctional so what's the point of getting marriage um
- 39:45Speaker 1: getting into the um institution of marriage. There are some
- 39:49Speaker 1: people that have been married for a long time, but
- 39:50Speaker 1: guess what? They're not together. Okay. On paper, they're together,
- 39:55Speaker 1: but not intimately. They don't live together or they're together
- 40:00Speaker 1: and they have their own separate lives. But on paper,
- 40:03Speaker 1: they're together and it is cheaper to keep or it's
- 40:06Speaker 1: cheaper to keep him. And they stay in the same house,
- 40:09Speaker 1: but they live totally different lives. And people look at
- 40:12Speaker 1: them like they marry, but they really are not. They're
- 40:15Speaker 1: two single people living together under the piece of paper
- 40:18Speaker 1: because they don't want to get a divorce. It's too expensive.
- 40:21Speaker 1: And when I say expensive, I mean to half and
- 40:23Speaker 1: everything else up the house, the this, the that, and
- 40:28Speaker 1: to let the whole world know that they really are
- 40:31Speaker 1: not in a loving relationship. The cost is too great
- 40:36Speaker 1: for them. So they'll just live their separate lives in
- 40:39Speaker 1: this charade of a marriage. And I know many people
- 40:44Speaker 1: like that. Many. So again, marriage. Marriage is spiritual. Marriage
- 40:55Speaker 1: is something that the Most High will bless when you're
- 40:57Speaker 1: in his will. And anything aside from that, it's not
- 41:02Speaker 1: even real. Okay. The last thing I want to say
- 41:06Speaker 1: in regards to having more than one spouse, I will
- 41:12Speaker 1: read Deuteronomy 17, 17, and it says this. This is
- 41:16Speaker 1: in regards to having more than one wife because there's
- 41:18Speaker 1: a lot of people who call themselves following the most
- 41:22Speaker 1: high and they got more than one spouse. And it's
- 41:26Speaker 1: just nonsense. And this is what Deuteronomy says because this
- 41:30Speaker 1: is one of the 613 laws. This is what it says.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Neither shall he multiply wives to himself. that his heart
- 41:41Speaker 1: turn not away, neither shall he greatly multiply to himself
- 41:46Speaker 1: silver or gold. Now, it means this, because the Most
- 41:51Speaker 1: High said, if you put anything before me, then you're
- 41:54Speaker 1: not worthy of me. So that means the Most High
- 41:57Speaker 1: is first in your life. He's supposed to be first.
- 42:00Speaker 1: So having more of anything, having more of anything, wives, gold, silver, horses, houses, boats, whatever,
- 42:13Speaker 1: that's idolatry because you put in things before the Most High.
- 42:20Speaker 1: So a part of the law is you don't have
- 42:23Speaker 1: things and put them before the Most High. And again,
- 42:26Speaker 1: you shall not multiply things to yourself because that's idolatry.
- 42:30Speaker 1: And the first thing the Most High says in regards
- 42:32Speaker 1: to that is wives. So one is enough. Because the
- 42:36Speaker 1: most highest blessing marriage with one man and one woman. Okay?
- 42:42Speaker 1: And like I said, I can totally go somewhere else
- 42:45Speaker 1: with it. But I'm not even going to go there. Okay? So,
- 42:50Speaker 1: with that being said, I hope that you learned a
- 42:55Speaker 1: little more about marriage. And as we continue to... talk
- 43:02Speaker 1: about how dysfunctional marriages are, especially with Hosea. Hopefully we
- 43:09Speaker 1: can learn that healthy marriage is something that we strive
- 43:19Speaker 1: for and the most I strive for too, because his
- 43:21Speaker 1: bride is suffering right now. Okay. And he is dealing
- 43:28Speaker 1: with her. and rebuking her, but she will be restored
- 43:33Speaker 1: in the end. The bride, the assembly of the Most High,
- 43:38Speaker 1: will be restored in the end. So even though Jacob
- 43:42Speaker 1: has trouble now, he's being humiliated because he is breaking wedlock,
- 43:48Speaker 1: there will be a time when the reunification of the bride,
- 43:55Speaker 1: which is the assembly, will be reunified with the Most High.
- 44:00Speaker 1: And that is a special marriage that we all look
- 44:04Speaker 1: forward to. Okay. So I hope that this lesson edified you.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I know it's short and it's to the point, but
- 44:13Speaker 1: you need to know how important marriage is. If you're
- 44:16Speaker 1: trying to contact me regarding a question, comment, or concern,
- 44:19Speaker 1: you have two ways of doing so. The first way
- 44:21Speaker 1: is you can email me at cliffnoteqna at yahoo.com. That
- 44:26Speaker 1: is C-L-I-F-F-N-O-T-E, the letter Q, the letter N, the letter
- 44:31Speaker 1: A at yahoo.com. The second way is you can Upload
- 44:35Speaker 1: your questions, comments, or concerns to whichever platform that you're
- 44:39Speaker 1: listening to. As the questions section is within the platform's description,
- 44:43Speaker 1: send me your questions, comments, or concerns, and I will
- 44:45Speaker 1: be sure to answer them. It is always good to
- 44:48Speaker 1: hear the capital W-O-R-D of capital T-R-U-T-H from the most high.
- 44:53Speaker 1: But you want to know what's better? Hit in that

- 45:31Speaker 1: know there's a lot of inconvenient and uncomfortable truths that
- 45:37Speaker 1: we have to face as both flocks. But guess what?
- 45:42Speaker 1: You are the better one for it. Because the most
- 45:45Speaker 1: high wants you to be a sparring athlete. Okay? He
- 45:52Speaker 1: wants you to be ready for whatever. He wants you
- 46:01Speaker 1: to be ready. And how are you going to get ready?
- 46:05Speaker 1: You have to hear what needs to be said. You
- 46:08Speaker 1: have to receive it, process it, and make it your own.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Just like Job. So I hope that the rest of
- 46:18Speaker 1: your day is productive. And I hope to see you
- 46:23Speaker 1: again on the Sabbath. Until next time.
