- 0:54Speaker 2: the podcast are released every Wednesday, allowing listeners to tune
- 0:58Speaker 2: in regular I'm pretty excited to dig into this pod
- 1:03Speaker 2: to ask all the hard hitting questions. Let's bring them on.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Thank you so much for joining us today.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, thanks for having me. Guys, super excited.
- 1:22Speaker 2: We need to talk about a little something that happened
- 1:25Speaker 2: on Instagram.
- 1:28Speaker 4: You're gonna get me in trouble. Teddy, I can.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Tell about well that's who I am. But no, it's
- 1:33Speaker 2: all already out there and they discussed it on watch
- 1:35Speaker 2: What Happens Live?
- 1:36Speaker 4: So okay, really, okay, okay.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It was once Andy talks about it, it's fair game. Yeah, yes, granted,
- 1:43Speaker 2: in a shocking turn of events, Heather didn't give much
- 1:46Speaker 2: in response. She played it safe, So I'm hoping you
- 1:50Speaker 2: will do something different for us. So it started out
- 1:55Speaker 2: what I'm seeing, this is not even episode related, This
- 1:58Speaker 2: is solely and Instagram related. Was Shannon went on watch
- 2:03Speaker 2: what Happens Live after you wearing what looks like the
- 2:08Speaker 2: same skirt from Alice and Olivia to me to my eye,
- 2:12Speaker 2: and you essentially your first post said something along the
- 2:17Speaker 2: lines of like glad to see another customer bought my
- 2:22Speaker 2: safe thing, could shop from me, blah blah blah. But
- 2:27Speaker 2: then you wrote imitation but spelled it imitation correct.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Yes, it did do that. It did, Okay, So was
- 2:37Speaker 4: the misspelling intentional or no it was not.
- 2:41Speaker 3: I just like you guys have to understand, like I
- 2:43Speaker 3: thought this was so funny, and like I was just
- 2:47Speaker 3: like doing it and I was like laughing as I'm
- 2:49Speaker 3: doing it because it's a joke, you know, And it
- 2:53Speaker 3: was it was funny, you know, So I and also like, yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 3: I'm definitely not the best speller, like and I don't
- 3:02Speaker 3: understand this.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Like everybody's trying to pretend.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Like they're weeding spelling bees out here, like we're not,
- 3:10Speaker 3: like nobody can spell so right.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I'm actually I'm hysterical.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I'm really offended by this because I'm an excellent speller.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I just can't do one bit of math, not even
- 3:22Speaker 2: my third grader's math.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Well, I.
- 3:26Speaker 6: I spent a very uh unhealthy amount of time googling
- 3:30Speaker 6: the right spelling work.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I posted anything like I because.
- 3:34Speaker 6: There's nothing worse when you're throwing fun shake and it
- 3:36Speaker 6: doesn't land right because you misspelled.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Something and now you know what I'm saying because it
- 3:41Speaker 4: was funny. Yeah, let me learn.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So then Shannon posts, I'm not gonna take it anymore.
- 3:49Speaker 2: No one noticed you wearing that skirt on Watch What
- 3:52Speaker 2: Happens Live, including myself, but people noticed when I wore it,
- 3:56Speaker 2: So I feel like this is when things start to
- 3:58Speaker 2: get a little dicey. Then we get into the episode
- 4:02Speaker 2: where I think, standing alone Shannon dressing as you during
- 4:09Speaker 2: those harder times that could have been perceived as funny,
- 4:13Speaker 2: but now we've gotten to kind of a worse place
- 4:17Speaker 2: through social media.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Well, yeah, because now I'm pissed.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so now the joke has probably been taken too far.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Shannon wrote, hope you enjoy my imuitation on Gina on
- 4:30Speaker 2: Tonight's Real Housewives of Orange County. And then it kind
- 4:33Speaker 2: of continues more where you say, I've definitely gone through
- 4:36Speaker 2: some hard times so great that you're always there to
- 4:40Speaker 2: remind me of them. That's just the kind of person
- 4:42Speaker 2: you are, and Shannon responds, I didn't know bad extensions,
- 4:47Speaker 2: bad hair, and a bad wardrobe were hard times.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I actually thought at the beginning, and I've you know,
- 4:53Speaker 2: I know I give everybody a hard time. I always say,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you're only as good as last week's episode, and believe me,
- 4:58Speaker 2: I was bad in the majority of episodes. So I
- 5:03Speaker 2: thought you started it originally with the with the outfit.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Do you agree?
- 5:08Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 5:08Speaker 7: It did, yes, Okay, but now where are we now,
- 5:13Speaker 7: Like now that this has been posted, because this is
- 5:15Speaker 7: kind of where I was like, you know, Shannon should
- 5:17Speaker 7: have just the invitation she could have.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Gotten away with, But now this, I don't know about
- 5:22Speaker 2: bad extensions, bad hair, and a bad wardrobe. That's where
- 5:24Speaker 2: it hit me. I was like, I feel like that's
- 5:26Speaker 2: taking it too far right.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I think for me, it's like, look, you know, we
- 5:31Speaker 3: live in this world and there is like this level
- 5:35Speaker 3: of acceptance of like light shade, funny drama stuff like that.
- 5:39Speaker 4: I'm obviously all in on it. I obviously can take
- 5:43Speaker 4: a joke.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I mean, she dressed up like me at my worst
- 5:46Speaker 3: in the episode. I took it very well.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I get it. I've been laughing about my hair for years.
- 5:51Speaker 4: But when I make a joke and.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I'm like, haha, we were the seam skirt and you
- 5:56Speaker 3: use that as yet another opportunity to remind you that
- 5:59Speaker 3: you're better than me and that nobody likes me, that's cruel,
- 6:04Speaker 3: you know, And like that's where it crosses a line
- 6:06Speaker 3: for me, Like, so you addresses me.
- 6:09Speaker 4: I take it as a joke.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I say, haha, you're chopping by LTK and you're like
- 6:14Speaker 3: your shit, no one likes you.
- 6:16Speaker 4: That's like not the same level, you.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Know, And then to go on to say you know,
- 6:21Speaker 3: you had no problems, you're you were a mess or whatever,
- 6:24Speaker 3: like now, it's just so unnecessary and I feel like
- 6:29Speaker 3: in those moments I have to just take it, take
- 6:31Speaker 3: it back, like reclaim it, really, because it's not okay.
- 6:35Speaker 3: You know, it's light shade is part of this world
- 6:38Speaker 3: and part of this job. And listen, it was a joke,
- 6:39Speaker 3: it was funny. But then to come back and tell
- 6:42Speaker 3: someone that no one likes them and they're not worthy,
- 6:46Speaker 3: and this is what she does a lot, right, I'm
- 6:48Speaker 3: that what I can only wish to be on her level,
- 6:51Speaker 3: Like this is a woman who also is twenty years
- 6:53Speaker 3: older than me, and I do.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Want to that's the right shame look up for her
- 7:00Speaker 2: and a way, well, I want.
- 7:02Speaker 4: To respect her, like I'm not that person. I don't.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I don't ever make fun of them anybody for the
- 7:09Speaker 3: way they look, for their age, none of that. Like
- 7:12Speaker 3: I respect well really for the most part, my cast
- 7:16Speaker 3: mets and I don't feel respected by her. So now
- 7:19Speaker 3: it's different.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Do you think that? I mean, because even when we're
- 7:24Speaker 2: talking about relationships here and when we're watching on the show,
- 7:28Speaker 2: I was just thinking how if she responded, if you
- 7:30Speaker 2: were to do the same thing back to her, she
- 7:32Speaker 2: would have been devastated.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Well yeah, I mean, and I think that's the game
- 7:37Speaker 3: that she plays here is you know, she can just
- 7:42Speaker 3: ignore us, treat us bad and all that, and then
- 7:46Speaker 3: the second you try to say anything.
- 7:47Speaker 4: To her, She's like instantly of it them right.
- 7:51Speaker 6: I will say. My little thought on the back and
- 7:54Speaker 6: forth was I definitely Gina. I felt like it was
- 7:58Speaker 6: hilarious at first. I was like, Okay, this is good,
- 8:01Speaker 6: this is this is great. And I do feel like
- 8:03Speaker 6: there is a fine line between fun shape and then
- 8:07Speaker 6: just being kind of mean. And I felt like it
- 8:09Speaker 6: started to feel a little like mean at the end,
- 8:12Speaker 6: like even like I mean, I didn't even mind, like, oh,
- 8:14Speaker 6: the hair extend is whatever, we all have had a
- 8:16Speaker 6: bad weed.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Whatever. It's like we can laugh at that.
- 8:20Speaker 6: I mean, after being on eleven years of Housewives of Atlanta,
- 8:24Speaker 6: I dread looking back at the beginning, like the first
- 8:27Speaker 6: three or four seasons on the show, we all looked
- 8:28Speaker 6: the hot mess. So I get it we can laugh
- 8:30Speaker 6: at ourselves, but I do. I did feel like it
- 8:34Speaker 6: sorry to feel uncomfortable for me once I felt like
- 8:36Speaker 6: it was kind of going towards Meansville. So mean Bill, Yeah,
- 8:41Speaker 6: I don't like it.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I don't like mean Bill. It doesn't sit well.
- 8:45Speaker 3: This has actually bothered me in all actuality for the
- 8:48Speaker 3: last couple of years, and it truld be told it
- 8:51Speaker 3: was a joke. I did think it was funny, and
- 8:54Speaker 3: maybe that was my error in making a joke towards
- 8:58Speaker 3: somebody that just plea cannot take one. And I will
- 9:03Speaker 3: not make that mistique again because I do not like
- 9:06Speaker 3: where it's gone. I do not want to perpetuate this
- 9:09Speaker 3: kind of behavior, and so for me.
- 9:13Speaker 4: It's tough, but I always want to take the joke.
- 9:15Speaker 4: I can't help it.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I go like, as soon as look, I know that
- 9:19Speaker 3: Canton wasn't shopping my lt K, Like she's lucky she
- 9:23Speaker 3: got there, and you're.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Trying to get that money. Like I'm always like, go
- 9:28Speaker 2: to my LTK, chap that leg shop.
- 9:31Speaker 5: No.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Yeah, actually a lot of people bought the skirts, so
- 9:33Speaker 4: that was really cool. Yeah, but but like I knew.
- 9:38Speaker 3: It wasn't shopping my LTK obviously, but it was just Bundy,
- 9:43Speaker 3: you know.
- 9:43Speaker 4: And I can't help myself.
- 9:45Speaker 3: It's like, oh, I probably should have known better, but
- 9:48Speaker 3: I just it's like, you know, there's.
- 9:51Speaker 2: A difference to me. I think there's a difference between me.
- 9:54Speaker 2: We we tease Tamora because Tamar had the same outfit
- 9:57Speaker 2: on as Teresa, and like they had that and that
- 10:01Speaker 2: that wearing the same outfit is funny. But then once
- 10:06Speaker 2: you and I and I like Shannon. I hung out
- 10:08Speaker 2: with Shannon, I like her. So none of that is
- 10:11Speaker 2: I just thought it went a little bit too far.
- 10:23Speaker 2: But now we're going to play a game that they
- 10:28Speaker 2: played on Watch What Happens Live with both of you.
- 10:30Speaker 2: So Shane, welcome to the conversation him.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Shane, Oh my god, Hi, Hi.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Well, first we're going to ask you, besides Gina, Shane,
- 10:38Speaker 2: who's your favorite housewife?
- 10:40Speaker 5: Mm hmm, Well it's a tie between Cynthia Bailey and
- 10:47Speaker 5: Teddy Mellencamp.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I can't.
- 10:52Speaker 5: I can't choose. No, really, I love I love all
- 10:57Speaker 5: the housewives. I mean, god, favorite, it's so hard, I don't.
- 11:02Speaker 5: I just I have loved you guys for so long.
- 11:05Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I have different reasons for different people.
- 11:09Speaker 5: I love Kyle y Oh, you know what I mean.
- 11:13Speaker 5: I've just really always loved I feel like she has
- 11:16Speaker 5: such a good heart. I feel like that comes through
- 11:20Speaker 5: and I probably secretly really like a lot of people
- 11:23Speaker 5: that I think I hate.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I love to hate. I love to hate,
- 11:27Speaker 2: like hate watch. But then I don't need to tell
- 11:29Speaker 2: them on their social media, like I could just feel
- 11:32Speaker 2: it and then live it. Okay, so here's our watch
- 11:38Speaker 2: what Happens Live with Heather moments, Heather says, some people
- 11:43Speaker 2: talk about things off camera, and some people bring them
- 11:47Speaker 2: on to create a storyline. Did you okay as being
- 11:50Speaker 2: a non housewife, Shane, did you pick that up or
- 11:54Speaker 2: were you picking up just Heather's because they kept saying
- 11:57Speaker 2: last night on watching it, Happ's life Heather's escape. In
- 12:00Speaker 2: my opinion, I'm like, no, she's gossiping off camera and
- 12:03Speaker 2: the other women are pissed and they're bringing it out.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Do you think that Heather was escapegoat and doing the
- 12:09Speaker 2: right thing because she didn't bring it up on camera
- 12:11Speaker 2: and just gossiped about it off camera.
- 12:15Speaker 5: I don't know. I mean, I feel like that's what
- 12:16Speaker 5: everybody does. I just feel like everybody as I mean,
- 12:20Speaker 5: that's the show. So I don't I don't know if
- 12:23Speaker 5: I think the word scapegoat is the right thing. I mean,
- 12:27Speaker 5: I feel like you start you guys have to become
- 12:29Speaker 5: aware at some point. I'm always like, I mean, at
- 12:32Speaker 5: this point, don't you think in real life relationships and
- 12:36Speaker 5: these are real relationships, don't come for me? People, these
- 12:39Speaker 5: are real. I know you're really friends and enemies, but
- 12:43Speaker 5: I just think that sometimes you'll have a conversation and
- 12:46Speaker 5: then they'll show your sorry what do they call it?
- 12:49Speaker 5: When you're just one on one, your testimonies are confessional,
- 12:52Speaker 5: p thank you, and you're confessional. Then all of a sudden,
- 12:56Speaker 5: you're going I didn't like when she said this, and
- 12:59Speaker 5: it didn't it didn't happen in the conversation, which we
- 13:02Speaker 5: wouldn't say in the conversation. But the rest of the
- 13:06Speaker 5: world doesn't have a confessional. We just get to build
- 13:08Speaker 5: up our resentments and lie about So, you know, I
- 13:14Speaker 5: think what Heather's doing there is I mean part for the.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Course, and then the next thing it was about Eugene.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Heather does not Heather does not think she owes you
- 13:26Speaker 2: an apology for bringing up her son also getting his
- 13:31Speaker 2: real estate license. She said absolutely not.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Wow, I think, okay, I think that I'm not asking you,
- 13:39Speaker 3: howther to apologize for bringing up her son. You know,
- 13:43Speaker 3: I think that she did apologize and recognize the fact that,
- 13:47Speaker 3: like you know, when you when you're starting something out
- 13:49Speaker 3: and then you're bringing it up on the show and
- 13:51Speaker 3: you're trying to drive this career, which I really genuinely
- 13:54Speaker 3: m Then for your your friend and Casimi and somebody
- 13:59Speaker 3: who knows how this goes to compare that and be like, oh,
- 14:03Speaker 3: my eighteen year old kid is also doing that, you know,
- 14:06Speaker 3: like it was a little bit and you guys also
- 14:09Speaker 3: know what you saw on the show. Yeah that was
- 14:12Speaker 3: in an isolated instance, but she brought it up like
- 14:15Speaker 3: several times.
- 14:17Speaker 5: You know, and that is.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Yes. And then she also did the thing where she
- 14:22Speaker 3: was like, oh, if you need if you need his help,
- 14:25Speaker 3: like you know, he'll tell you that yes. And then
- 14:28Speaker 3: she was like so cute, and I'm like like, what
- 14:31Speaker 3: are you doing Heather, and listen. I genuinely do love Heather,
- 14:36Speaker 3: like I really do care about Heather. And I really
- 14:38Speaker 3: do love Nikki and he really he really is a
- 14:41Speaker 3: rock star kid. So if I'm gonna be compared to
- 14:43Speaker 3: a kid, he's not a bad one. But you know,
- 14:46Speaker 3: I'm a grown woman and I'm trying to care my kids.
- 14:49Speaker 4: I could have done without.
- 14:50Speaker 2: That, which Cynthia, this brings me to I wanted to
- 14:53Speaker 2: let you know, Dove, I know she's three, but I'm
- 14:55Speaker 2: happy to help her with your acting career.
- 14:58Speaker 4: It's just.
- 15:01Speaker 2: It's like these things that is exactly, that's exactly.
- 15:07Speaker 4: That's exactly.
- 15:07Speaker 3: That's actually teddy. That's so funny because I said that
- 15:11Speaker 3: to Emily. I was like, Emily, it's like, it's like
- 15:13Speaker 3: you because you're taking annabel now to acting and modeling.
- 15:18Speaker 3: It's like you being like, oh, Heather, you're back on
- 15:20Speaker 3: the on that wagon. You're gonna try acting again. I
- 15:23Speaker 3: can have Annabelle.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Help you out. You guys, now, you know, yeah, I
- 15:29Speaker 4: totally aget. I totally get it.
- 15:30Speaker 6: I remember an incident on our show where I opened
- 15:34Speaker 6: up the Bailey wine cellar.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Okay, so I did not know a.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Lot about wine, but I thought, hey, you know what,
- 15:39Speaker 6: I'm older, I would love to know more about wine.
- 15:42Speaker 6: I love the wine culture.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Blah blah blah blah, open up cellar.
- 15:45Speaker 6: And then it just turns into this whole thing with Kenyana.
- 15:48Speaker 6: We go to Athens, Greece, and we you know, she
- 15:51Speaker 6: takes me to like a vineyard and all this stuff.
- 15:53Speaker 6: But she starts quizzing me like like I'm a Somalia
- 15:56Speaker 6: or whatever, hope right or whatever, and I'm like she's like.
- 16:00Speaker 4: What appears with this? And da da?
- 16:02Speaker 6: And it was like great TV and it was like
- 16:04Speaker 6: fun shape but after a while, it's like she just
- 16:07Speaker 6: would let it go and I was like, okay, Like,
- 16:09Speaker 6: now you got me looking crazy for even doing this.
- 16:12Speaker 6: So you know, she ded up apologizing. But I hear
- 16:15Speaker 6: you when you say you're trying to do something, start
- 16:17Speaker 6: a business or whatever, just anything professionally on camera, and
- 16:20Speaker 6: then you know, your castmate, you know, can make it
- 16:22Speaker 6: seem like, you know, you don't know what you're doing
- 16:25Speaker 6: or whatever.
- 16:25Speaker 4: We like, or just diminishes it, you know.
- 16:28Speaker 3: And the reality is, Cynthia, we all know you don't
- 16:30Speaker 3: need to be a Somalie to have a successful wine business,
- 16:34Speaker 3: you know, right.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Drink enough wine to be qualified.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Yeah, And like there is this there is that aspect
- 16:42Speaker 3: of like we've been in this game for a minute now,
- 16:44Speaker 3: and we've made the mistakes and we've built the businesses.
- 16:48Speaker 3: And I mean, you've been a professional, working adult woman
- 16:51Speaker 3: for an extremely long time, so you're perfectly capable of
- 16:56Speaker 3: starting new things and learning and growing. And you know,
- 17:00Speaker 3: the housewife thing already sometimes has a negative connotation when
- 17:03Speaker 3: it comes to our businesses and our brands.
- 17:06Speaker 4: And I don't think that we should, you.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Know, I think we should be promoting each other and
- 17:11Speaker 3: helping each other, not like and listen, Heather did not
- 17:15Speaker 3: mean anything by it, and she genuinely really is.
- 17:17Speaker 2: As genuinely who she is, and yes, and.
- 17:20Speaker 3: She would genuinely, but she also like if I called
- 17:22Speaker 3: Heather right now and I was like, Heather, I need
- 17:24Speaker 3: help with this or can you, she absolutely would be there.
- 17:27Speaker 3: So like, Heather is the person who does generally promote
- 17:31Speaker 3: uplifts support me, and so I think that for me
- 17:35Speaker 3: when she did that, it just hurt a little and
- 17:37Speaker 3: she did not see it, and as soon as I
- 17:39Speaker 3: showed it to her, she was extremely responsive and apologized.
- 17:44Speaker 4: She just simply didn't see it.
- 17:45Speaker 2: That's your kid, you know, right right This was a
- 17:48Speaker 2: fan question, and I know it's going to be a
- 17:51Speaker 2: little bit difficult to answer. Gina. Okay, but you had
- 17:58Speaker 2: a moment one season where you kind of said to Braun,
- 18:01Speaker 2: when it's all about you? Broun, when do you think
- 18:05Speaker 2: you had a moment this season where Jen's relationship became
- 18:09Speaker 2: all about you because what people are saying, And do
- 18:13Speaker 2: you find it somewhat hypocritical being triggered by Jen while
- 18:19Speaker 2: also helping Matt get his things expunged.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I mean, I see the point.
- 18:28Speaker 3: I see the point, But listen, my feelings are my feelings,
- 18:32Speaker 3: and I'm not gonna say all of my feelings are
- 18:35Speaker 3: always fair and rational, like you introduced me to a
- 18:38Speaker 3: person who has only had fair and rational feelings. I
- 18:42Speaker 3: don't think you could do it, you know. And so
- 18:45Speaker 3: is it necessarily completely fair to Jen?
- 18:47Speaker 1: No?
- 18:48Speaker 4: Have I apologized to Jen? Have me and Jen? Like
- 18:50Speaker 4: you know? Jen did not cheat on me? And I'm
- 18:53Speaker 4: very aware that, you know. So I think it's.
- 18:56Speaker 3: We're cool, like it's okay. But I mean, look, you
- 19:00Speaker 3: know how it goes to Every conversation became about her
- 19:04Speaker 3: and her affair and this da da da da, and
- 19:07Speaker 3: I just kept saying, let's talk about anything. Look at
- 19:09Speaker 3: the look at this ship she just posted on Instagram
- 19:12Speaker 3: of fitness, Like, let's look at anything else? Because I
- 19:15Speaker 3: could feel myself constantly getting worked up by it.
- 19:19Speaker 4: And is it right and fair to Gen?
- 19:22Speaker 3: No? Did I apologize for that and pull back and
- 19:25Speaker 3: look at that, and and you know see that more
- 19:28Speaker 3: clearly absolutely? But me forgiving the father of my children
- 19:35Speaker 3: and moving on from that was the most right and
- 19:38Speaker 3: healthiest decision I have ever made. It has allowed me
- 19:41Speaker 3: to be in this position now where I can co
- 19:44Speaker 3: parent and I can still have a family life, and
- 19:47Speaker 3: I don't regret it, but that that relationship that I
- 19:51Speaker 3: have currently with Matt is separate from me still working
- 19:54Speaker 3: during healing from some of the trauma of my past,
- 19:56Speaker 3: and I have found a way to compartmentalize those and
- 20:00Speaker 3: and it just is what it is.
- 20:01Speaker 4: And if it's fair to.
- 20:02Speaker 3: People who come up along the way and triggery, probably not,
- 20:07Speaker 3: you know, but this is also a part of who
- 20:09Speaker 3: I am, and I don't know when it's going to
- 20:12Speaker 3: come out.
- 20:12Speaker 4: I'm working on it.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I actually feel like it was a very healthy It
- 20:16Speaker 3: was a good healthier for me on the show, which
- 20:19Speaker 3: is so weird, but it really was, like I feel
- 20:22Speaker 3: like I need progress in some areas I didn't even know,
- 20:24Speaker 3: like I still was holding on to.
- 20:27Speaker 4: For me a lot. It was real.
- 20:30Speaker 5: I just want to add something to that sort of
- 20:33Speaker 5: back her up. Even though I have to say that
- 20:35Speaker 5: even though Gina and I haven't been doing this that
- 20:37Speaker 5: long and we've only known each other a short time,
- 20:39Speaker 5: but we hit it off really quick. I'm pretty honest.
- 20:42Speaker 5: When I watched the show, and I'm able to say
- 20:44Speaker 5: to Gina, hey, two episodes ago, that lighting in your
- 20:47Speaker 5: kitchen when you didn't have makeup on. We got to
- 20:49Speaker 5: work on that. So I'll be the first person to
- 20:52Speaker 5: say when you know, I think she's missing it. But this,
- 20:57Speaker 5: this to me, is the epitome of being a great
- 21:02Speaker 5: parent and looking out for the long term, you know,
- 21:07Speaker 5: the long term best interest for your kids. And the
- 21:11Speaker 5: fact that she's been able to help Matt do this.
- 21:14Speaker 5: It in no way ne yates what happened, and it
- 21:18Speaker 5: doesn't mean she changed her mind. It means that there's
- 21:21Speaker 5: been forgiveness and that she's evolved, And I mean that's
- 21:25Speaker 5: the point. So I think it's funny that people want
- 21:27Speaker 5: to come for her for that because I think that
- 21:31Speaker 5: it just shows such growth. Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Well this tells me why you guys are doing a
- 21:36Speaker 2: podcast together, because Shane, you seem like a really good person,
- 21:40Speaker 2: which is why now I have to ask you a
- 21:42Speaker 2: hard question.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Okay, please please.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Well, as a gay man who's worked in country music,
- 21:51Speaker 2: what's your take on the Hot one hundred top three
- 21:56Speaker 2: being all country songs, two of which are by controversial artists.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Well, here's a great example of what we're talking about,
- 22:04Speaker 5: with the you know, evolution of I've worked with both
- 22:07Speaker 5: of those artists. I've had songs recorded both by Morgan
- 22:10Speaker 5: and by Jason Aldan, and things changed since I worked
- 22:16Speaker 5: with them. They've done some things that don't line up
- 22:19Speaker 5: with my values, and I'm embarrassed. I'm embarrassed that those
- 22:23Speaker 5: guys are associated with the music that I love so
- 22:25Speaker 5: much and that you know, I was. I really was
- 22:30Speaker 5: obsessed with country music growing up, you know, and just
- 22:34Speaker 5: wanted to be in it and didn't think I would
- 22:36Speaker 5: get to because I was gay. And I've been very
- 22:39Speaker 5: accepted and received with open arms. But learning especially of
- 22:44Speaker 5: the Jason Aldan situation, that feels like he's doubled down.
- 22:50Speaker 5: I mean, Morgan, whether or not people feel like it is,
- 22:56Speaker 5: if it's authentic or not. He has apologized, he has
- 22:59Speaker 5: come back multiple times and try to explain himself again.
- 23:02Speaker 5: You take that, however, it should never have been said,
- 23:04Speaker 5: it should never have been done. But with Jason el Dean,
- 23:08Speaker 5: it just feels like there's there's nothing, but he just
- 23:11Speaker 5: comes back harder, and you know, I'm just really shocked.
- 23:17Speaker 5: I'm embarrassed, like I said, And yeah, to see that
- 23:21Speaker 5: song go to number one, I just I just I
- 23:25Speaker 5: hope that it's just that people were so sort of
- 23:29Speaker 5: interested to even see what it said. I mean, the
- 23:32Speaker 5: truth is, the most offensive thing about that song is
- 23:36Speaker 5: it's just a terrible song. It's awful, terrible songwriting, terrible.
- 23:43Speaker 5: It's just it sounds terrible. I'm embarrassed that people would
- 23:46Speaker 5: go there and think that's what country music is. Well.
- 23:49Speaker 2: And this is coming from someone My dad wrote a
- 23:52Speaker 2: great song about a small town that was positive.
- 23:55Speaker 5: I've seen a lot of people use that song as
- 23:59Speaker 5: a reference as this is how you write a song
- 24:01Speaker 5: about a small town. I mean, the thing is, you know,
- 24:04Speaker 5: Jay Soneudeen has already recorded fourteen songs with the word
- 24:07Speaker 5: town in the title. I'm like, I don't know why
- 24:09Speaker 5: this and this one is like fourteenth on the list.
- 24:12Speaker 5: The guy has made some great music in the past,
- 24:14Speaker 5: He's done some big things for the genre, but this is, yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 5: it's it's embarrassing. And I mean not that he cares
- 24:20Speaker 5: what my opinion is, but you know, the truth is,
- 24:23Speaker 5: I just don't want to be associated with that.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Well, I like that. How did you guys, How did
- 24:29Speaker 2: you guys meet Jayson Aldeen Jena, We've moved on from him, Gina.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Take this, I mean we you know, I'm a lover
- 24:41Speaker 5: of the show, Gina became friends with someone who works
- 24:44Speaker 5: at my company, and then they really hit it off,
- 24:47Speaker 5: and you know, Gina, please take it. I know. We
- 24:50Speaker 5: originally met at a restaurant.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Yeah we met, Yeah, we met at a restaurant.
- 24:53Speaker 3: We met through My kids were huge Walker Hayes fans,
- 24:57Speaker 3: and they were having a concert around the block from
- 24:59Speaker 3: where I lived, and we went and I hit it
- 25:01Speaker 3: off with Walker and his family. They have six kids,
- 25:04Speaker 3: we have six kids. Became fast friends. And then then
- 25:09Speaker 3: I met Shane through Walker and we just like hit
- 25:14Speaker 3: it off so well, and we couldn't show, you know,
- 25:16Speaker 3: both of us be like to talk. We don't shut up,
- 25:18Speaker 3: so you know, and then we were just like what
- 25:20Speaker 3: could we do? And we were just having very interesting conversations,
- 25:23Speaker 3: and we were like, you know what we should We
- 25:25Speaker 3: should just start a podcast, you know, and we just
- 25:28Speaker 3: did and it's been working. I feel like it's very
- 25:33Speaker 3: it's really nice for me to be able to talk
- 25:36Speaker 3: freely and you know, go deeper into things without you know,
- 25:43Speaker 3: feeling like I'm trying to drive some other machine. It's
- 25:47Speaker 3: just real conversations about real things. Of course, like we dip,
- 25:51Speaker 3: you know, sometimes into housewife stuff but it's really not
- 25:55Speaker 3: the root of it.
- 25:56Speaker 4: It's not the crux of it.
- 25:57Speaker 3: We talk about parenting sobriety, pop culture, like non traditional
- 26:03Speaker 3: parenting styles, just like everything and anything. This week we're
- 26:06Speaker 3: gonna do horrible dating stories. I've got plenty, you know,
- 26:10Speaker 3: stuff like that, and it's just a really good fun time.
- 26:14Speaker 3: I think it's more positive and uplifting. Like it's not
- 26:17Speaker 3: like we you know, they're going to come to you
- 26:20Speaker 3: guys for their tea and their housewife stuff, and then
- 26:24Speaker 3: this is like a different thing than it. So and
- 26:27Speaker 3: which I think also Teddy is like healthy and like
- 26:29Speaker 3: both of you can attest it. It's like it's like
- 26:32Speaker 3: I'm still on it now, so I have enough of
- 26:35Speaker 3: it in my life. It's nice to feel like I
- 26:36Speaker 3: have something outside of that.
- 26:39Speaker 6: Yeah, you can, housewives can become very overwhelming. I just
- 26:44Speaker 6: want to ask you really quickly, Gina, what do you
- 26:45Speaker 6: think is the most misunderstood thing about you? I think
- 26:49Speaker 6: a lot of times when you're a housewife, you know,
- 26:52Speaker 6: we can be very misunderstood. What do you think is
- 26:54Speaker 6: the biggest thing that people the biggest misconception that people
- 26:57Speaker 6: have about you.
- 27:01Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe that I'm boring.
- 27:04Speaker 2: During the club.
- 27:05Speaker 3: You know, you can't have that one.
- 27:09Speaker 4: I already have boring over here.
- 27:11Speaker 2: God, that's our trying to steal our stuff.
- 27:15Speaker 4: I mean, what else you got we about the boring one?
- 27:21Speaker 3: It really means you're like the most stable and well adjusted.
- 27:27Speaker 2: That's what way. That's what us boring people tell ourselves.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Right, I'm you're well adjusted, You're well adjusted.
- 27:37Speaker 4: You're not crazy.
- 27:38Speaker 6: And what is your favorite way to you know, I know,
- 27:42Speaker 6: filming is really tough, and you know, for me, I
- 27:45Speaker 6: always had to like figure out, like you know, when
- 27:47Speaker 6: I would get home from filming, like I would have
- 27:49Speaker 6: to figure out how I wanted to decompress. What's your
- 27:51Speaker 6: favorite way to just decompress and just kind of, you know,
- 27:54Speaker 6: remove yourself and just like mentally not think about the show,
- 27:57Speaker 6: like after you finished filming the scene, are coming from a.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Trip there a trip? Forgot it?
- 28:03Speaker 3: I'm full terms definitely little top, you know, for sure
- 28:10Speaker 3: for sure, But yeah, I just I just can't have
- 28:14Speaker 3: I cannot have it, Like I can't watch even my
- 28:17Speaker 3: own episodes nothing Housewive past like seven PM, or I get.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Anxiety out of my voice on TV.
- 28:24Speaker 6: Like I hear myself and I'm like, oh my god,
- 28:27Speaker 6: watching that turn it turn it turn totally.
- 28:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Even like if I'm in bed and Traveler has his
- 28:32Speaker 3: phone and it goes on audio and I hear anything,
- 28:34Speaker 3: I just instantly get anxiety, even if it's not like
- 28:37Speaker 3: a houseway thing, because I think maybe it's gonna be
- 28:40Speaker 3: and I.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Just get anxiety.
- 28:41Speaker 3: So I been need or and then I can't sleep,
- 28:43Speaker 3: and then I'm up all night just eating gushers, you know,
- 28:46Speaker 3: and I'm like, I cannot do all things like choose
- 28:49Speaker 3: something like hot to Mollie's no they I know Tamar
- 28:53Speaker 3: gets on me all the time for my eating habits.
- 28:55Speaker 2: But no, I love your junk food, but gus shirts
- 28:58Speaker 2: always love them. Thank you so much for joining us.
- 29:01Speaker 2: We know you have a full day of press today.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Make sure to tune in to their podcast, Orange Country
- 29:10Speaker 2: Podcast with Gina and Shane. I'm sure it'll be so interesting.
- 29:14Speaker 2: You guys, get your housewife tea here but all the
- 29:17Speaker 2: other good stuff. Go ahead and get over there.
- 29:19Speaker 5: I have to say I have to say real quick, Teddy,
- 29:22Speaker 5: I'm sorry. I know we're going over time, but I
- 29:23Speaker 5: just have to say thank y'all for having us, and
- 29:26Speaker 5: I love both of you ladies so much. I really
- 29:28Speaker 5: am just a huge fan Cynthia. Years ago, I worked
- 29:31Speaker 5: as a PA on this when y'all did like a tour.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Do you remember when y'all would go and like do
- 29:37Speaker 5: sit on stage and like answer questions? This is like
- 29:40Speaker 5: a decade ago, and I did one of the shows
- 29:44Speaker 5: that you were at and you were so nice and anyway,
- 29:49Speaker 5: I just it was fake. I knew that it was fake,
- 29:53Speaker 5: but I appreciated it.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Listen, listen, that is so cool.
- 30:00Speaker 6: I totally remember that tour, and uh, you know, congrats
- 30:04Speaker 6: to you guys.
- 30:04Speaker 4: You guys have great energy.
- 30:06Speaker 5: Love people. Gina.
- 30:07Speaker 4: You know, it took me a minute time warm up
- 30:09Speaker 4: to you.
- 30:09Speaker 5: In the beginning.
- 30:09Speaker 6: I was like, why is this on?
- 30:10Speaker 3: Trigger about it?
- 30:11Speaker 4: But it's going on. But I love watching you. I
- 30:13Speaker 4: think you're just such a light on the show.
- 30:14Speaker 6: And I'm just really enjoying getting to know more about
- 30:18Speaker 6: you and your family and your boo and all that stuff.
- 30:20Speaker 6: So congrats on everything, Love you guys.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Thank you, Cynthia. That's so sweet. Thank you Paul. It
- 30:25Speaker 4: was good seeing you.
- 30:26Speaker 5: Teddy.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Bye guys, Bye,
