- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the very wet porch.
- 0:31It is raining so we are recording on the porch today and
- 0:34the girls are not even up yet because it is so dark out with
- 0:39the rain coming. But today we are talking about
- 0:42one of my favorite things to talk about.
- 0:44Believe it or not, the annoying list can hear the rooster off in
- 0:47the background there. The annoying list.
- 0:50So any of you who may be regular followers for years have heard
- 0:54me talk about this before. But this time of year is such a
- 0:57sweet time of the year to focus on this subject.
- 1:00So an annoying list are the things literally that annoy you.
- 1:04No surprise there. When you sit down and you start
- 1:07putting the annoying list together, there is a feeling of
- 1:12excitement of getting it out of your body.
- 1:15At least there is for me. I love just putting it down and
- 1:19saying, OK, these are all the little things, the little crappy
- 1:23little tiny things that just annoy me.
- 1:25Like, for instance, pens that don't have ink in them anymore
- 1:30and they're still sitting around in a cup to be used.
- 1:32Why? Why not just get rid of them,
- 1:34Put them in the recycling bin? Little things that are around us
- 1:39constantly. I have a front door that doesn't
- 1:43close easily, so you have to push it really hard.
- 1:46And when people come in and out, often they don't want to push
- 1:49your front door really hard, so they don't.
- 1:52And then before you know it, the door is wide open and the cat
- 1:55has always, every single time she has radar for it, she runs
- 2:00for the door. Now I do not let my cat go
- 2:02outside, one, because I don't think it's safe as a cat to let
- 2:05her out, and two, she is a mass murderer and she will go kill
- 2:09all the birds that she can find. So she leaves chickens alone.
- 2:13But she is definitely an issue for birds.
- 2:17But neither here nor there. The door is on the annoying
- 2:19list. All these tiny, tiny things that
- 2:23seem to be so frustrating to us that we run into consistently
- 2:28and have to deal with them. It takes up our time.
- 2:32This is the reason the annoying list is so important because
- 2:34these things suck up our time. They come in and before you know
- 2:39it, you have to deal with it. Like one of my biggest things
- 2:42that years ago that I had put on the annoying list was that I
- 2:44always seem to run out of things.
- 2:46So this is the reason why if you come to my house, there is
- 2:50always supply of everything. I don't need to think about the
- 2:53fact that I need toothpaste or we're out of toothpaste because
- 2:57there are everyone has their own kind of toothpaste they like.
- 3:01So I have two few tubes of each. When I see that we're down to
- 3:04one, it goes on the list to buy it.
- 3:06So that became something that I worked off of my annoying list.
- 3:10So think of it in terms of once you start seeing this and if
- 3:14it's repetitive, you can work around it.
- 3:16It's a learning process. This is exactly why I am talking
- 3:20to you about it because I want you to work around it.
- 3:22I want you to see the things that you can get healed up and
- 3:26never have to deal with them again.
- 3:28So for me, the doors, that's the thing that is on my annoying
- 3:32list this year. Another thing that's on my
- 3:34annoying list is how I store all the food for the chickens and
- 3:38how I can get them off their big bags.
- 3:40So I have to have shelves that I can move them because I'm not
- 3:43going to pick them come up over my head.
- 3:45It's too much for me. My son can do it, my husband can
- 3:47do it. I can't do that.
- 3:49I just don't want to deal with that.
- 3:50So reorganizing all of that batteries in things, things that
- 3:55have batteries that the, you know, everything's running out.
- 3:59There you go. Replace all those little
- 4:01batteries. I have a lot of candles that I
- 4:04use throughout the house that are on timers that have those
- 4:07little flicker flames and those are always going low.
- 4:12Well, now here we are at holiday season.
- 4:14So guess what I'm going to get make sure I have the batteries
- 4:17situation taken care of. It's just one thing to remember
- 4:21when you're doing this is attempt to walk through the
- 4:24house with the pad. This is the best way.
- 4:27Walk through everything and just write it down.
- 4:30Don't try to fix them in the process of writing them down.
- 4:33Just get it all on the the annoying list and then you can
- 4:37decide, OK, what can I delegate? What do I have to do myself?
- 4:40How long will it take to fix all of these?
- 4:43I have some things like I can't fix the door myself.
- 4:46I have no skill with that. That's going to be my either my
- 4:49husband or my son. And I can put it on the public
- 4:52annoying list and then I can put it on the counter, put it on the
- 4:55refrigerator and say, who's going to take care of this?
- 4:57And let's get it taken down because it is so fulfilling to
- 5:03know by the end of the year, you have a clear annoying list.
- 5:06You are not sitting there suffering with it anymore.
- 5:09And I will say I do this throughout the year.
- 5:13I like have it probably like every quarter now because I've
- 5:16worked things down and then I'll just pull it out and do it.
- 5:19But the year end one really is 1 where I clean up things, get new
- 5:23supplies, make sure we have what we need, paper, printer ink,
- 5:28have it in reserve. No need to be running out at the
- 5:32last minute to get it. So I hope you enjoy writing your
- 5:35annoying list as much as I do and getting things off of it
- 5:38because it makes you feel free my friends.
- 5:40OK, I will see you tomorrow and I hope you have a blessed day.
- 5:43Bye.
