  Speaker 1: I picked her up from first grade and I was nervous.

  Speaker 1: Is she going to come out of school happy? Is

  Speaker 1: she going to come out kind of just slowly walking

  Speaker 1: and kicking a rock? But the doors opened. I showed

  Speaker 1: my ID because, you know, I have to get to

  Speaker 1: know the new teachers.

  Speaker 1: I said, I'm, you know, Cubby Bryant. Great.

  Speaker 1: Naomi. Yes. And then she heard her name and she

  Speaker 1: ran out and hugged me. And I picked her up

  Speaker 1: and I said, how was your first day of first grade?

  Speaker 1: She said, it was awesome.

  Speaker 1: And that is what I wanted to hear. So we

  Speaker 1: were very happy yesterday.

  Speaker 1: I was nervous because she was nervous. Didn't know, you know,

  Speaker 1: what friends were going to be from kindergarten with her. So,

  Speaker 1: you know, there was like five or six that came

  Speaker 1: from kindergarten class the year before.

  Speaker 2: She knew them.

  Speaker 1: And then she's like, yeah, I met some new friends.

  Speaker 1: And the art teacher is the same. And the music

  Speaker 1: teacher is the same.

  Speaker 2: So.

  Speaker 1: It's like a combination of new, but she also is
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: getting to know the school because she's been there before.

  Speaker 2: That's great.

  Speaker 1: So you know how it was.

  Speaker 2: I still remember.

  Speaker 1: Yes. You get to know the rhythm of a particular school.

  Speaker 2: I remember how scary the first day always felt. But yes,

  Speaker 2: I'm so glad she got through it and she's happy.

  Speaker 1: Thank you. And I know a lot of schools are

  Speaker 1: starting today and then tomorrow. And then I think New

  Speaker 1: York City public schools are a week. Next Thursday. Yeah.

  Speaker 2: Labor Day is weird this year, isn't it?

  Speaker 1: I know. It's very late. It's very late. Yeah. But

  Speaker 1: I don't know. It just feels like school time, especially

  Speaker 1: with the calendar saying September. I know.

  Speaker 2: Now that it's September. Exactly. So can we still wear

  Speaker 2: white or do I have to after Labor Day?

  Speaker 1: Here we go with that conversation. Do you ever take

  Speaker 2: We have until after Labor Day. I don't take it seriously,

  Speaker 2: thinking this morning, like it's time to start putting some

  Speaker 2: of the real summery stuff away, even though it can

  Speaker 1: to go to a storage unit and all that?

  Speaker 2: No, thankfully.

  Speaker 1: You have now a bigger home, so you can do

  Speaker 1: it all under one roof.

  Speaker 2: still a chore. because I don't have everything. I don't

  Speaker 2: have that. You know, I don't have like Kim Kardashian's closet.

  Speaker 1: What's your ultimate goal?

  Speaker 2: So I have to like swap things out and put

  Speaker 1: see fall clothes and not, you like to do a

  Speaker 1: whole transfer, right? A whole switch.

  Speaker 2: But it's all within the same house. I used to

  Speaker 2: have to go to a storage unit.

  Speaker 1: Nothing's worse than when it's like late September and it's

  Speaker 1: kind of cold and you don't need summer clothes anymore.

  Speaker 1: You open the drawer and you still see summer clothes.

  Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I know.

  Speaker 1: So you're trying to avoid that.
