- 0:04Speaker 1: The Saint Patty's Day Pub Crawl, the original Fargo Saint
- 0:08Speaker 1: Patrick's Day pub Crawl. It's back and it is presented
- 0:11Speaker 1: by bud Light. It's going on this Saturday for a
- 0:14Speaker 1: really fun time in downtown Fargo.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I know that Saint Patrick's Day is like your favorite huh,
- 0:19Speaker 2: the top three best holidays of the year by a mile?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Why why I can do without? Why? WHOA?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Well, let me just answer this, angie. Saint Patrick's Day,
- 0:30Speaker 1: July fourth, and your birthday. On those three days you
- 0:33Speaker 1: can get up and start drinking before nine am and
- 0:36Speaker 1: not a single person on earth will judge you for it.
- 0:39Speaker 2: That is exactly correct.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Well, if you do need more details, by the way,
- 0:45Speaker 1: on the Saint Patrick's Day Pub Crawl, you can find
- 0:48Speaker 1: them at Big nine eight seven dot com. And we
- 0:50Speaker 1: do want you to know that this event is free.
- 0:53Speaker 1: If you see anything online about paying for this or paying.
- 0:57Speaker 2: For that, or buying a ticket to the pub, do
- 1:00Speaker 2: not do that. It is a scam, all right. The
- 1:02Speaker 2: event is free to participate.
- 1:04Speaker 1: You don't even have to drink at it if you
- 1:05Speaker 1: don't want to, obviously, you can just come down and
- 1:08Speaker 1: have some fun and joyce, maybe some food, or whatever
- 1:10Speaker 1: you want to do.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So we hope to see you on Saturday.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And I've got a little inspiration for the Saint Patrick's
- 1:17Speaker 1: stape phub call Angie.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I've put together a few things.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Is it Irish or is it really just kind of
- 1:23Speaker 1: marketing here in America?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:25Speaker 1: Okay, this is interesting. Now some of these are a
- 1:29Speaker 1: little bit of a trick.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Question. Ish you for letting me know ahead of time, just.
- 1:34Speaker 1: A heads up, Okay, Like, for example, corn beef and cabbage.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Is it Irish? Yeah, it's gotta be right, so not
- 1:43Speaker 1: Irish traditional here in the US. For it is traditional
- 1:48Speaker 1: for Irish Americans in.
- 1:49Speaker 2: The United States. Okay, okay, But.
- 1:52Speaker 1: In Ireland they usually will do bacon with cabbage.
- 1:59Speaker 2: That's bed than corn beer. Yeah right, okay. What about shamrocks.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that's started in Ireland, right, That's why we care
- 2:08Speaker 3: about it.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It is very Irish. It's actually the national symbol of Ireland. Okay,
- 2:13Speaker 1: Now I've got three more for you here, Angie. Green beer.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I mean that sounds like something as Americans came up with.
- 2:20Speaker 1: That's one thousand percent not Irish. It is purely an
- 2:24Speaker 1: American pub invention. For Saint Patrick's day. Okay, what about leprechans.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that's Irish, right, Well.
- 2:34Speaker 1: This would be kind of one of the it's sort
- 2:36Speaker 1: of it's a both and okay, okay, kind of Irish
- 2:40Speaker 1: all right. It has a like an Irish folklore origin,
- 2:43Speaker 1: but mostly it is a US commercial commercialization thing.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Ah, the lucky charms, that's so magically delicious.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And then finally, what about bagpipes? Wait, aren't bagpipe Scottish?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Are they? I don't even know? They're not Irish? So
- 3:01Speaker 2: is it Irish?
- 3:01Speaker 4: No?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Well, you're kind of right because bagpipes are kind of Irish.
- 3:06Speaker 1: They are more Scottish traditionally, but they are used in
- 3:10Speaker 1: Irish ceremonies as well.
- 3:12Speaker 2: All right, okay, don't try to confuse me. We can't
- 3:15Speaker 2: wait to see you Saturday.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Once again, the Saint Patti's Day Pub Crawl, the original
- 3:20Speaker 1: Fargo Saint Patrick's Day Pub Crawl, presented by bud Light,
- 3:23Speaker 1: is back.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Celebrating life's little victories. Every morning, we practice gratitude on
- 3:32Speaker 4: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:34Speaker 5: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 3:36Speaker 5: basket joke busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 3:42Speaker 4: two and oh one ninety eight seven kids.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I also needed to win that day. Do you have
- 3:47Speaker 2: a little victory today, Angie? I do. So.
- 3:51Speaker 3: We started watching this series on Apple TV called Born
- 3:56Speaker 3: to Be Wild and it's essentially about like little baby
- 4:01Speaker 3: animals that have been rescued.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh previews of all, Oh my gosh, it is so cute.
- 4:09Speaker 2: It is so cute.
- 4:10Speaker 3: And last night we had been looking forward to it
- 4:13Speaker 3: because we had wanted to start it Sunday night, and
- 4:17Speaker 3: then we couldn't because I had to go to bed,
- 4:19Speaker 3: and we got to watch the episode about the baby Lemur.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, her name was a Sorr. I think,
- 4:27Speaker 2: just the cutest.
- 4:29Speaker 3: And so they helped these you know, abandoned animals or
- 4:31Speaker 3: rescued animals, especially the babies. We watched them get rescued
- 4:35Speaker 3: and grow up and get returned to the wild.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And it's so emotional.
- 4:39Speaker 3: And my kids always make fun of me for crying
- 4:42Speaker 3: about everything, right, However, this one even brought little tears
- 4:47Speaker 3: to my little Liam's eyes, and so it was a
- 4:50Speaker 3: really cute bonding moment. I loved it.
- 4:53Speaker 2: What is it called the Good? Yeah?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Born to Be Wild on Apple TV it's a great
- 4:57Speaker 3: family watch. And so the next episode we're gonna watch
- 5:01Speaker 3: tonight and I think that's twin.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Little Cheetah Brothers. Oh that'll be adorable. Yeah, that'll be wonderful.
- 5:08Speaker 2: What about you, Gabe, what's your Little Victory? Born to
- 5:10Speaker 2: be Wild?
- 5:11Speaker 1: Sounds like a movie starring like Emil Hirsh and Brad
- 5:14Speaker 1: Pitt or something.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It might be, all right, my little victory.
- 5:19Speaker 1: This morning, I stopped on in to this new gas
- 5:23Speaker 1: station in South Fargo. This was one of the greatest
- 5:26Speaker 1: additions to my life of all the time because it
- 5:29Speaker 1: is so close to where we live, you know, a
- 5:32Speaker 1: handful of blocks or you know, five, but whatever the
- 5:34Speaker 1: case may be. But I walked in and I heard
- 5:37Speaker 1: the radio station on in this Circle K gas station.
- 5:40Speaker 2: And I'm like, wait, that sounds very familiar.
- 5:44Speaker 1: And I walk up and I have kind of noticed
- 5:46Speaker 1: just that when I've gone in there as of recent
- 5:49Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm pretty sure they're listening to Big ninety.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And so I walked up, you know, got what I
- 5:54Speaker 1: got this morning? And I was talking to the guy
- 5:57Speaker 1: behind the counter, who you know, I stop in there
- 5:59Speaker 1: a couple of times a week in the morning, just
- 6:01Speaker 1: to grab an energy drink when I don't have one
- 6:03Speaker 1: at home, or breakfast burriede or whatever the case may be.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, hey, I'm about to talk
- 6:09Speaker 1: to you in like an hour, and he was like,
- 6:10Speaker 1: oh really.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I'll see you and you'll hear
- 6:14Speaker 2: from me at about six o'clock.
- 6:15Speaker 1: So how's it going, man, Nice to meet you, dude.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I hope you have a great day. So very cool.
- 6:21Speaker 1: In Circle K, the new one in South Fargo, they're
- 6:23Speaker 1: hanging out with Big ninety eight point seven.
- 6:24Speaker 2: That's so cool.
- 6:26Speaker 3: You know what, because sitting in this studio, we don't
- 6:28Speaker 3: actually know if anybody's listening to its clu so when
- 6:32Speaker 3: someone does, it's like, oh okay, yeah, all right, this
- 6:35Speaker 3: justifies my job.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I gotta really try hard.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're just waking up today, you might look
- 6:42Speaker 1: out your window or maybe last night you notice, oh
- 6:45Speaker 1: my god, we got another little bit of snow, Like
- 6:48Speaker 1: this was the least necessary snowfall.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Of all time. I'm just he degrees. Yeah, yeah, well
- 6:57Speaker 2: he might be waking up and going, oh my god,
- 6:58Speaker 2: the snow's here. Just fml.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Well, I want to introduce you, and we have used
- 7:04Speaker 1: this before but I want to introduce you to this.
- 7:06Speaker 1: One of my favorite waste time websites is what I
- 7:10Speaker 1: call it of all time. If you ever just need
- 7:12Speaker 1: a nice little five ten minute break at work, you're like, oh,
- 7:15Speaker 1: what can I read to be entertained by?
- 7:18Speaker 2: All right, go to FML dot com. And that's a
- 7:21Speaker 2: real website. It's a real website.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And these are some people who are also waking up
- 7:26Speaker 1: and going, oh, did is snow? No, they got worse
- 7:29Speaker 1: things going on, Angie. I want you to be my
- 7:31Speaker 1: judge injury and executioner.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Here are these really that bad? All right?
- 7:35Speaker 1: Okay, this person wrote today, I had some soup that
- 7:40Speaker 1: my dad made. I took one sip and found he
- 7:43Speaker 1: had put tons of hot.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Sauce in it.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I rushed to drink from a soda can that was
- 7:48Speaker 1: sitting on the counter, only to find that my mother
- 7:52Speaker 1: had used it as an ashtray the night before. I
- 7:55Speaker 1: can still taste hot sauce and ash.
- 7:58Speaker 2: That's horrible. FML. They deserve to complain.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Yeah, they do, because if it was just the hot sauce,
- 8:05Speaker 3: I was gonna say, you need to go through some
- 8:07Speaker 3: adversity because hot soup delicious.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, But no, once it was the coke can ash tray. Yeah,
- 8:15Speaker 2: that takes it up a notch. Okay, all right, what
- 8:17Speaker 2: about this person? Today?
- 8:18Speaker 1: I proposed to my boyfriend, and I'm sure that happens,
- 8:22Speaker 1: but nine times out of ten, you always hear about
- 8:24Speaker 1: the guy proposing. Right now, Yeah, today I proposed to
- 8:27Speaker 1: my boyfriend. He laughed at me and said that proposing
- 8:31Speaker 1: is the man's job FML. So it sounds like he
- 8:35Speaker 1: didn't say yes or no. I think this is kind
- 8:37Speaker 1: of cute thing.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I think maybe he just wants to do it. I
- 8:40Speaker 3: think you're all right, girl, don't that's.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Not that that's not a ton of adversity. No, yeah, okay,
- 8:45Speaker 2: we're looking for more adversity. Yes, okay.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Today I was sitting on the bus following a harrowing breakup.
- 8:52Speaker 1: A boy of no more than six looked at me,
- 8:56Speaker 1: full of compassion and said, are you you crying because
- 9:00Speaker 1: you're ugly?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Wow?
- 9:04Speaker 3: You know what I feel for you. I'm so sorry.
- 9:06Speaker 3: That is FML. Yeah, that's one salt in the wounds.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Because kids, accidentally they're so honest. They're so honest. They're
- 9:15Speaker 3: so honest when they don't even mean to. All right,
- 9:17Speaker 3: I have one more for you here Angie.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Today I found out that the guy I'd been seeing
- 9:22Speaker 1: for months, four or four months, excuse me, with holidays, gifts, intimacy,
- 9:28Speaker 1: meeting friends, the whole building something vibe had secretly been
- 9:32Speaker 1: on a dating app sleeping with another girl the whole time,
- 9:35Speaker 1: and she still also doesn't know. He lied, offered no apology,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and justified his actions by saying, well, we weren't official.
- 9:44Speaker 3: You know what, this is such a universal experience.
- 9:48Speaker 2: You'll be fine. Yeah, you just onto the next one. Yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 2: exactly right.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And if you ever have some adverse moments, okay, you
- 9:54Speaker 1: want to share some of your adversity because we are
- 9:57Speaker 1: big on adversity here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It builds character. YEA, makes you a stronger person.
- 10:03Speaker 2: What's that thing Kelly Clason said? What doesn't kill you
- 10:06Speaker 2: makes you're strong.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Let us know about your adversity here on Big ninety
- 10:10Speaker 1: eight point seven, where we like to embrace the saying,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you know, things don't happen to you, they happen for you.
- 10:20Speaker 2: No need to argue. Parents just don't understand.
- 10:23Speaker 1: What is the craziest tax you have received from a parent?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven
- 10:29Speaker 1: I found this was trending online the other day. And
- 10:32Speaker 1: there are some parents who I think, for the most part,
- 10:36Speaker 1: are trying to be sweet or sadly fall into a
- 10:39Speaker 1: trap of they kind of well sadly they just don't understand.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And a lot of these are in like the group
- 10:45Speaker 1: chat I will never forget my brother, my my mom,
- 10:48Speaker 1: my dad, and my younger sister. We were all in
- 10:50Speaker 1: a group chat talking about this past summer where we
- 10:54Speaker 1: went to Duluth.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Do you remember when I went to remember this? Yes?
- 10:57Speaker 1: And we're texting just dates that work, that don't work.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I mean we're not sending you know, gifts or reels
- 11:03Speaker 1: or whatever. We're really just trying to plan this out
- 11:06Speaker 1: all in one group chat. And I think my dad
- 11:09Speaker 1: meant to text just me, but of course she sends
- 11:12Speaker 1: it to the group chat about hey, can you please
- 11:15Speaker 1: get me out of this group chat.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I'm like, what that texted in the group chat? Amazing.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I think he just tried to send it to one
- 11:23Speaker 1: of us, yeah, you know, because he didn't want to
- 11:26Speaker 1: appear to be a jerk or what have you. And
- 11:28Speaker 1: it's like eight, It's like, oh, okay, Dad, I guess
- 11:30Speaker 1: you're not going You're never going to know the date.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I will never forget that, poor dad. But lo and
- 11:37Speaker 1: behold he did make it to Duluth. I'm sure my
- 11:39Speaker 1: mom had something to do with that. Has your parents
- 11:42Speaker 1: ever sent you a weird or a wild or just a.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Funny text message?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Let us know this morning here on Big ninety eight
- 11:48Speaker 1: point seven, now for Angie, for your circumstance.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It's a little bit unique. Yeah, because my mom to
- 11:55Speaker 2: her first language is Spanish, not English.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Yeah, we're Cuban b In fact, Spanish was my first
- 12:00Speaker 3: language too, But when it's the group chat with all
- 12:03Speaker 3: the siblings, we are talking to each other in English.
- 12:06Speaker 3: And so my mom is a great sport and she
- 12:09Speaker 3: will also text in English, but that can present approbaly.
- 12:15Speaker 2: So yeah, some challenges.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I can't think of anything specific off the top of
- 12:18Speaker 3: my head. I just know that there's a lot of
- 12:20Speaker 3: sayings that are in Spanish that don't translate to English, like, oh,
- 12:27Speaker 3: my favorite one, and I've told you this saying before,
- 12:30Speaker 3: and I feel like everyone should use it. She was
- 12:33Speaker 3: talking about someone that she was so upset with, and
- 12:36Speaker 3: in Spanish the phrase is no kiero bed nian bin thua,
- 12:42Speaker 3: which literally and that's like a harsh.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Thing to say in Spanish.
- 12:46Speaker 3: In Spanish, but it literally translates to saying that you
- 12:50Speaker 3: dislike someone so much you don't want to see them
- 12:53Speaker 3: even in a painting.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that sounds ridiculous.
- 12:59Speaker 3: One are the odds you're gonna ever see someone you
- 13:01Speaker 3: dislike in a painting?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Right? To me, that's hilarious.
- 13:04Speaker 3: So those are the blunders that we get when it's
- 13:07Speaker 3: just like, oh, that's not that doesn't translate, Mom, that
- 13:11Speaker 3: didn't work. Here.
- 13:12Speaker 1: We do have Christopher here, Christopher, what is a text
- 13:15Speaker 1: that one of your parents sent you?
- 13:16Speaker 4: My mom texted me this just the other day. And
- 13:19Speaker 4: keep in mind that I'm forty five years old. She texted,
- 13:22Speaker 4: how's my special boy? Still special and amazing?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Love you, sweet sweet. If my mother sent me something
- 13:30Speaker 2: like that, though, I'd.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Be like, okay, Ma, No, You'd be like, you meant
- 13:33Speaker 3: to send that to my brother, right.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I'd be like, oh, did we hit the codeine a little?
- 13:40Speaker 1: We do have Elizabeth as well, Elizabeth, what about you?
- 13:43Speaker 4: My dad tried to text my brother, but he sent
- 13:45Speaker 4: it to the family group chat instead, and it said
- 13:48Speaker 4: your mother is mad at me. Do not mention the
- 13:51Speaker 4: kayak so obviously we.
- 13:53Speaker 2: All immediately started asking about the kayak. Oh, sure, that's
- 13:57Speaker 2: about how that works. It's the group chat with dad. Yes,
- 14:01Speaker 2: some trouble.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Today is March tenth, which means that it is Mario Day,
- 14:09Speaker 3: m A R. And the one in the zero it
- 14:11Speaker 3: looks like Mario, and so I very quickly wanted to
- 14:14Speaker 3: tell you a Mario joke.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Okay, all right, hit me with it before we Is
- 14:18Speaker 2: it legally? Yeah? Okay? What kind of pants does Mario wear?
- 14:22Speaker 4: Oh?
- 14:23Speaker 2: I know the answer, Go ahead, Dunham, Denham, Denham, Denham.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Do you feel better? Yes? All right.
- 14:31Speaker 4: In the world of rules in gray areas, one Morning
- 14:33Speaker 4: Show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Is it illegal for a child to wear that much makeup?
- 14:38Speaker 2: Is it legal?
- 14:39Speaker 5: I understand, I understand it's funny as all can get out, but.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Is it even legal?
- 14:43Speaker 1: On Big ninety eight point seven, this Saturday is the
- 14:49Speaker 1: Saint Patti's Day pub Crawl, presented by bud Light. And
- 14:52Speaker 1: I've had green on the brain since yesterday, and so
- 14:55Speaker 1: I was wondering, Hey, there's gonna be green beer, green outfits.
- 14:58Speaker 1: There's also gonna be green cash.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, why is our legal tender? Green?
- 15:04Speaker 1: Why are US dollar bills green? And you might think
- 15:06Speaker 1: it's calming, but that's not even close to the answer.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Back in the eighteen hundreds, the Treasury picked green because
- 15:16Speaker 1: it was hard to counterfeit. Green ink was plentiful, it
- 15:20Speaker 1: didn't fade, and it reacted chemically so scammers couldn't easily
- 15:25Speaker 1: copy it. Basically, green is the OG security feature. You
- 15:30Speaker 1: forget holograms, all right, Just make it leafy and call
- 15:33Speaker 1: the day the next time you grab some cash a
- 15:36Speaker 1: big remember or a big reminder. Excuse me the color
- 15:38Speaker 1: it isn't just pretty. It's the government's way of saying,
- 15:41Speaker 1: don't even try it glidden. And that's why your monopoly
- 15:45Speaker 1: money never works at Starbucks.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I love that, Okay, So it's the OG security system.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I do want to also make a mention that the
- 15:53Speaker 3: official Saint Patrick's Day pub crawl is free. You actually
- 15:58Speaker 3: don't have to spend your green on it if you
- 16:01Speaker 3: don't want to. So if you see anywhere floating online
- 16:04Speaker 3: that like, oh yeah, the pub call it costs you.
- 16:06Speaker 2: No, it doesn't, it does not, is s That's right,
- 16:13Speaker 2: don't pick up the phone. You know he's only going
- 16:15Speaker 2: because he's drunken.
- 16:15Speaker 3: A So du Alipa has her rules for getting through
- 16:20Speaker 3: a breakup, right, Well, I have some rules if you
- 16:24Speaker 3: are happily in a relationship and you want to stay
- 16:28Speaker 3: that way, fellas.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yeah, these are rules to prevent the breakup.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Exactly, all right, So I'm just gonna go through them.
- 16:38Speaker 2: The gas station, Fellas.
- 16:40Speaker 3: If you go to the gas station and you come
- 16:44Speaker 3: back and you don't have a snack in your hand
- 16:48Speaker 3: for your girl, what are you doing?
- 16:51Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 16:52Speaker 3: Even if you told her that you were going to
- 16:55Speaker 3: go to a gas station real quick, and you asked her, Hey,
- 16:58Speaker 3: do you want anything, and she says, no, that's fine,
- 17:01Speaker 3: I don't need anything. That's a lie. She always wants
- 17:04Speaker 3: a snack. Okay, don't let her fool you. And maybe
- 17:08Speaker 3: that's not fair. It's a trick.
- 17:10Speaker 2: No, No, you just have to know this.
- 17:12Speaker 3: And if for some reason you forgot the snack, you
- 17:14Speaker 3: better turn that car right back around and go get it.
- 17:18Speaker 3: At no point should you return from a gas station
- 17:21Speaker 3: trip without a snack for your girl. That's number one, okay,
- 17:25Speaker 3: Number two, a sweet treat. Okay, if you guys are
- 17:30Speaker 3: at a restaurant or at the drive through and you're
- 17:33Speaker 3: ordering food, and your girl says, you know what, I think,
- 17:37Speaker 3: I want something sweet. That means you also want something sweet.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Do not let your girl have a sweet treat by herself.
- 17:46Speaker 2: She doesn't want that. We're gonna feel bad. What gee,
- 17:52Speaker 2: you're lucky. You already put a ring on it so
- 17:55Speaker 2: it's harder to get away. But that's the thing.
- 17:57Speaker 3: If I want a sweet treat, and and Mikey's like, okay, yeah,
- 18:01Speaker 3: you can get one.
- 18:02Speaker 2: No no, And then you get one too, Mikey.
- 18:04Speaker 3: The good thing is Mikey loves sweets, so we're say
- 18:07Speaker 3: we're safe there. But yeah, if your girl wants a
- 18:09Speaker 3: sweet treat, you better even if you don't, you better
- 18:12Speaker 3: lie and say that you want a sweet treat.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Also, I want a sweet treat means we want a
- 18:16Speaker 2: sweet Yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 3: That part okay. And then this is the final one.
- 18:20Speaker 3: And this one drives me crazy. And ladies, you let
- 18:23Speaker 3: me know if we're on the same page with this.
- 18:26Speaker 3: If I suggest doing something and I ask you if
- 18:31Speaker 3: you want to do the same thing, you better don't
- 18:34Speaker 3: say if you want.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Obviously I want. I brought it up, I came up
- 18:40Speaker 2: with it.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Obviously I want, So do not say if you want
- 18:45Speaker 3: I clearly want. I need a committal answer. I need
- 18:48Speaker 3: you to say yes or no, preferably not no. I
- 18:51Speaker 3: need to say yes.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Saying no could also be one of the rules on here,
- 18:55Speaker 1: but we just thought that was universal.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Well, and then the other thing is to tie into that. Sure,
- 19:01Speaker 3: that's a noncommittal answer. Do you want to come with
- 19:04Speaker 3: me to the mall?
- 19:05Speaker 2: Sure?
- 19:05Speaker 3: No?
- 19:06Speaker 2: No? I want a yes. I want a solid yes.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I want to be excited about it being excited. I
- 19:12Speaker 2: want you to want what I want. Essentially, we can
- 19:16Speaker 2: wrap all.
- 19:16Speaker 3: These rules up and just do whatever your girl wants
- 19:19Speaker 3: and let us know if you have any of these
- 19:22Speaker 3: kind of funny unwritten rules that you'd love to share
- 19:24Speaker 3: with us.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Here on Big ninety eight point seven we had a
- 19:26Speaker 1: couple for you. Maybe we got the ball roll and
- 19:28Speaker 1: got some inspiration for you. What are your unwritten rules
- 19:31Speaker 1: that you could text us at seven oh one to
- 19:33Speaker 1: eight zero one nine eight seven that we can then
- 19:36Speaker 1: share with the fellas. So everyone is just happier.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Yes, new slang alert, New slang alert. I just learned
- 19:49Speaker 3: new slang that is being used at least in the
- 19:53Speaker 3: high schools or one specific high school.
- 19:56Speaker 2: So aiden is my fifteen year old and every of
- 19:58Speaker 2: your apparent this is direct for you. Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Every once in a while he will come home with
- 20:04Speaker 3: some new term that he uses, and then he'll explain
- 20:08Speaker 3: to me what it means.
- 20:10Speaker 2: And the problem is that I've come.
- 20:14Speaker 3: To the Big ninety eight point seven morning show with
- 20:17Speaker 3: new slang, and Gabe said that he's going to coordinate
- 20:22Speaker 3: with Aiden to trick me into thinking that something is
- 20:26Speaker 3: new slang when it really isn't.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Yes, And so I'm not.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Sure if you guys collaborated already or what, but as
- 20:34Speaker 5: far as I've been told, the new slang when you
- 20:38Speaker 5: want someone to be quiet is you tell them to
- 20:43Speaker 5: mute their mic, which.
- 20:46Speaker 2: I think is kind of like that. Yeah, yeah, oh
- 20:51Speaker 2: my gosh, you muted my mic quite literally.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I do think it's amusing because I'm in radio, and
- 20:57Speaker 3: so part of me thinks because of that that you
- 21:02Speaker 3: and Aiden are in cahoots and came up with this
- 21:05Speaker 3: slang turned together to trick me.
- 21:08Speaker 1: So I had some news for you. What Aiden and I, Yes,
- 21:13Speaker 1: did not coordinate this one.
- 21:15Speaker 2: No, this is real.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Okay, all right, So if you haven't heard this and
- 21:20Speaker 3: you've got a teenager, because this is I only know
- 21:24Speaker 3: that it's going around in.
- 21:25Speaker 2: High school time. Okay.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yeah, if your kid tonight at dinner is talking a lot,
- 21:31Speaker 3: I want you to say to your kid, could you
- 21:34Speaker 3: mute your mic and see what their reaction is, and
- 21:38Speaker 3: please report back to the Big ninetey point seven Morning
- 21:41Speaker 3: Show seven oh one two eight oho one nine eight seven.
- 21:44Speaker 2: At home.
- 21:46Speaker 3: I mean, Aiden can't help himself. He keeps telling us
- 21:48Speaker 3: to mute our mics for everything. You just don't want
- 21:51Speaker 3: me to talk ever?
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, bruh, Well, I think do you know, uh,
- 21:57Speaker 2: who is it?
- 21:58Speaker 1: Whatever guy it is, I think it's Jimmy Kimmel. He
- 21:59Speaker 1: does the Halloween prank where parents telling kids they're out
- 22:03Speaker 1: of the candy. Yeah, I think this would be so
- 22:06Speaker 1: funny if Big ninety eight point seven, if you are
- 22:08Speaker 1: a parent, and we could collectively get some responses on this.
- 22:12Speaker 2: So even if maybe your kid isn't being a little jerk, yes,
- 22:16Speaker 2: just tell them to mute their minds.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Mike and let us know about the response. Yes, we
- 22:20Speaker 1: want report cards back tomorrow.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Here on Big ninety eight point seven, I need some
- 22:27Speaker 2: good starting off the day with something good.
- 22:32Speaker 4: This is Gabe's good News on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Fargo Public Schools have announced their twenty twenty six Support
- 22:42Speaker 1: Staff Member of the Year, and Washington Elementary's Allison Larson
- 22:47Speaker 1: thought she was walking into another staff meeting yesterday, but
- 22:51Speaker 1: Superintendent Corey Steiner surprised everyone, bringing in Larsen's parents to
- 22:56Speaker 1: present her with the award. Larson's call league say she
- 23:00Speaker 1: helps create a safe learning environment for students. She accepts
- 23:04Speaker 1: every child for who they are, meets them where they

- 23:11Speaker 1: Allison's dad, he had this to say about his daughter
- 23:14Speaker 1: after presenting her with the award.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Brought tears in my eyes when they got the phone call.
- 23:19Speaker 5: She got a big heart. She finds good and everybody
- 23:21Speaker 5: that she meets, she didn't say bad things about anyone.
- 23:24Speaker 4: She's just an amazing young lady.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Larson began her role as a school positive behavior technician
- 23:31Speaker 1: at Washington in twenty twenty three. So congratulations gradually, Allison Larson.
- 23:38Speaker 1: It sounds like she deserves the award. It sounds like
- 23:40Speaker 1: she is an incredible role model and just an incredible
- 23:44Speaker 1: advocate for these kids or outlet if they need someone
- 23:46Speaker 1: to talk to.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So wait to go for her.
- 23:47Speaker 3: When they say it takes a village, these are the
- 23:51Speaker 3: people they're talking about. It's not just parents, it's not
- 23:54Speaker 3: just family of kids spend most of their time when
- 23:58Speaker 3: they're young at school, So to have teachers and support
- 24:02Speaker 3: staff like this.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Young woman helping their kids out, it's beautiful.
- 24:06Speaker 1: The world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 24:08Speaker 1: find one, you gotta be one.
