- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, it's Monday, and welcome to our radio archive hour.
- 0:02Speaker 1: These are hours taken from our radio show, which we
- 0:05Speaker 1: aired for about sixteen years, eventually wound up locally in
- 0:08Speaker 1: Los Angeles, and then we had a nationally syndicated version
- 0:10Speaker 1: of it, and we had been on the air in
- 0:12Speaker 1: Miami and Minneapolis and Atlanta before that with it. Most
- 0:15Speaker 1: of the hours you're going to be hearing here are
- 0:17Speaker 1: from our syndicated show, and I performed the voices of
- 0:21Speaker 1: the guests and the characters.
- 0:22Speaker 2: All of the callers that called.
- 0:23Speaker 1: In were real people. We never paid callers. We didn't
- 0:26Speaker 1: set up calls. These are real people who thought they
- 0:28Speaker 1: were talking to real people and they weren't. Anyway, Today
- 0:32Speaker 1: we've got Ted Bell and all of his glory. Ted
- 0:33Speaker 1: Bell the owner of Ted's Beverly Hill Steakhouse. And this
- 0:37Speaker 1: was the third person Ted Bell in all of his
- 0:40Speaker 1: irritating wonderment. He is Ted Bell. This is Ted Bell,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I'm Ted Bell. He never really did get into the
- 0:45Speaker 1: first person. And he's talking about stealing the sun visor
- 0:49Speaker 1: from some guy's cheap Corolla so.
- 0:51Speaker 2: He could have it for his Jaguar. Here's Ted Bell
- 0:55Speaker 2: as Ted Bell. Well, listening to Phil Henry on Coast
- 1:00Speaker 2: to Coast PM from the Premiere Radio Networks.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Ted Bell owns Ted's of Beverly Hills in Beverly Hills.
- 1:10Speaker 3: There's a new one going and you know this, Mike,
- 1:12Speaker 3: that Ted's is expanding to Santa Barbara. And if you
- 1:14Speaker 3: want a great steak, I have not yet had the
- 1:17Speaker 3: pleasure of eating a Ted's, but I hear the steaks
- 1:19Speaker 3: there are good.
- 1:21Speaker 2: They are mouthwateringly good. Ted's.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Ted Bell is with us Ted from Ted's, a Beverly
- 1:28Speaker 3: Hills steakhouse in Santa Barbara. And I'll tell you something, Ted,
- 1:33Speaker 3: These steaks that you have got, man, I'm telling you,
- 1:36Speaker 3: the steaks that you serve up there are without a doubt,
- 1:40Speaker 3: some of the best, right I mean, in terms of
- 1:43Speaker 3: let me just say.
- 1:44Speaker 4: This, we have got USDA card fed beef. We buy
- 1:50Speaker 4: our steaks directly from the Midwest. They are seasoned and
- 1:54Speaker 4: prepared to your taste. Fantastic. And when we open this
- 1:57Speaker 4: new Ted's of Beverly Hills in Santa Barbara, and that's what.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It's going to be called too. By the way, Ted's of.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Beverly Hills, Tedder Beverly Hills, our Santa Barbara Division on
- 2:06Speaker 4: State Street, by the way. I just I wanted to
- 2:08Speaker 4: share something with you. I just got a brand new
- 2:11Speaker 4: x K eight convertible Jaguar seventy three thousand. Bucksville has
- 2:16Speaker 4: got the new navigation system. I drove over in the
- 2:19Speaker 4: new Jaguar to meet with Marty Patton, who is one
- 2:23Speaker 4: of the partners in our endeavor. Marty was in his
- 2:25Speaker 4: attorney's office to go over some of the specs for
- 2:27Speaker 4: a new restaurant. And this is such a beautiful car.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I want to tell you a little bit about this.
- 2:33Speaker 3: You drove over to see Marty when you finalize you
- 2:35Speaker 3: finalize the deal today for the new restaurant, for.
- 2:37Speaker 4: The new restaurant right hey, by the way, I had
- 2:41Speaker 4: a run in with the Los Angeles police today. I
- 2:43Speaker 4: want to ask an opinion of you, and I've maybe
- 2:46Speaker 4: i'd asked asked this a micro of Craig over there.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I went over to this meeting. It's over on Century
- 2:53Speaker 4: City West, Okay, Yeah, and I'm in the XK XK
- 2:57Speaker 4: convertible seventy three thousand dollars. Film someone the Spens Vacations
- 3:01Speaker 4: navigation system with a six death CD auto change. I
- 3:03Speaker 4: got a Premium Alpine SAD system. This thing's like two
- 3:07Speaker 4: hundred and seventy five horsepower engine. So I park it
- 3:10Speaker 4: and I get over to the meeting, which was on
- 3:13Speaker 4: Century Park West Overn. Here where the way you used
- 3:15Speaker 4: to do the King of the Hills, right, Yeah, I
- 3:17Speaker 4: know where it is, all right. So now I'm in
- 3:19Speaker 4: a pretty serious way because the sun's beating down, and
- 3:23Speaker 4: I have left my sunvisors in the garage. I use
- 3:27Speaker 4: three sunvisors.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Sun visors for the dashboard, yeah, the cardboard sun visors
- 3:31Speaker 3: for the dashboard.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I left three of them over in the garage at home.
- 3:35Speaker 4: And so here it is. The sun's beating down in
- 3:37Speaker 4: my car, and I'm in a lot off the Santa
- 3:39Speaker 4: Botica Bulevard. I don't on the visor. The police report
- 3:42Speaker 4: says that I stole this guy's visor, And all right, hold.
- 3:46Speaker 2: On for a minute, man, because either we're going to
- 3:47Speaker 2: talk about did you get arrested?
- 3:48Speaker 4: No, no, I didn't, but we had I had a
- 3:51Speaker 4: run in with my Jaguar today. I was on my
- 3:53Speaker 4: way over to the meeting.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Because either we're talking about the new restaurant or or
- 3:58Speaker 3: some problem that you had on your way over to
- 4:00Speaker 3: the meeting for the new restaurant.
- 4:01Speaker 2: So this is what an arrest.
- 4:04Speaker 4: No. I had to talk to the LAPD today because
- 4:08Speaker 4: what because of the new Jaguar.
- 4:11Speaker 2: What happened you parked that.
- 4:12Speaker 4: I parked the Jaguar. I don't have a sunvisor for
- 4:16Speaker 4: my dashboard. I saw I guess it was a brown Corolla,
- 4:20Speaker 4: really liked Barbel Corolla and there was a visor on
- 4:22Speaker 4: the dash I wound up. The window was down on
- 4:28Speaker 4: the cars. I was meeting with buddy parent and I
- 4:30Speaker 4: had to go to this meeting, and I was gonna
- 4:33Speaker 4: be beating. But I don't know happened on a Corona
- 4:36Speaker 4: is not well maintained. My Jaguar is.
- 4:38Speaker 2: So what'd you do? You took the guy's sun visor?
- 4:40Speaker 4: I took the visor out of this Corolla. Yeah, Now
- 4:43Speaker 4: the guy comes out. Apparently when I came back, the
- 4:45Speaker 4: guy was already back there and he's jumping up and down.
- 4:47Speaker 4: He's some Asian guy. Okay, if you're ready for that,
- 4:51Speaker 4: and he's screaming bloody murder, and the cops are there,
- 4:54Speaker 4: and I said, what you know, what's the problem with this?
- 4:57Speaker 4: Cop says to me, the guy claims that I took
- 4:59Speaker 4: this visor. I said I was borrowing the visor. If
- 5:02Speaker 4: you take a look at the car anyway, make up,
- 5:04Speaker 4: make a long story short. I gotta go to court
- 5:06Speaker 4: in three weeks because I brought some guy's sun visor.
- 5:10Speaker 4: And this was all because I wanted to tell you
- 5:12Speaker 4: about the I'm about about the restaurant. So I had
- 5:14Speaker 4: a seventy three thousand dollars automobile.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Wait a minute, you went over and you parked your car.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Now that the sun has been beaten down and it's
- 5:21Speaker 3: really hot, you got a brand new Jaguar, right, this.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Thing's a x Kaight, this is all right?
- 5:27Speaker 2: So this is top of the line, top of the ride,
- 5:30Speaker 2: is it? I don't know. Convertible.
- 5:31Speaker 4: It's a convertible. I had the top up on it,
- 5:33Speaker 4: and I have left the sun rises at home. So
- 5:36Speaker 4: that's my mistake. Okay, my bad, All right, my bad.
- 5:39Speaker 4: But you're gonna hang that one on me. But now
- 5:42Speaker 4: that I got the car over there, the sun is
- 5:44Speaker 4: beaten down, I'm gonna take it right Now that sun
- 5:46Speaker 4: is gonna turn that letter on the dashboard. It's gonna
- 5:49Speaker 4: crack it, it's gonna destroy it. You're talking anywhere from
- 5:52Speaker 4: two to three thousand dollars to replace half of that
- 5:55Speaker 4: so I had, so I reached something at this guy's stop.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Well, you don't reach into another man's car and grab
- 6:00Speaker 3: the sun visor, ted, okay.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Well, I'm gonna want to ask you something you.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Don't You don't do that. Okay. The guy's window was down, Yeah, the.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Guy the window was down. It's a Corolla. Okay. And
- 6:11Speaker 4: this Asian guy comes out. He starts screaming at me.
- 6:15Speaker 3: But I don't care if it was a Corolla. I
- 6:16Speaker 3: don't care if it was an Asian guy. I don't care.
- 6:19Speaker 2: If you were going to be back in time to
- 6:21Speaker 2: give it back. You weren't, were you?
- 6:22Speaker 4: I was. I was a few minutes late because I
- 6:25Speaker 4: didn't know. The k meeting ran along. But I come out.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Here's this Asian guy jumping up and down. The cop
- 6:31Speaker 4: is standing there.
- 6:33Speaker 2: And what did the cop tell you?
- 6:34Speaker 4: God told me I gotta go to court. I said,
- 6:36Speaker 4: I borrowed the visor. So I don't know.
- 6:40Speaker 3: You don't reach into somebody's car and take a sun
- 6:43Speaker 3: visor or anything out of their car. Okay. First of all,
- 6:48Speaker 3: how did this guy know that you had it?
- 6:50Speaker 4: Because I don't know he recognized it.
- 6:52Speaker 2: He recognized his visor sitting in your car?
- 6:54Speaker 4: Yeah, La Dodger logo on the top of it.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question, Ted, You got business
- 7:00Speaker 3: and you're a smart man. Right, you take an La
- 7:03Speaker 3: Dodger sun visor off the dash of a guy's car
- 7:06Speaker 3: and you stick it in your car. Don't you think
- 7:08Speaker 3: the cat's gonna see that?
- 7:09Speaker 4: Phil? You know something, Bill, it's a crowded don't you
- 7:13Speaker 4: think that?
- 7:13Speaker 3: Hold on for a minute, man, guys looking around for
- 7:15Speaker 3: sunvis only got the Jaguar.
- 7:17Speaker 2: There's got it. That Jaguars got my sun visor in there.
- 7:21Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying.
- 7:22Speaker 4: No, I don't see what. The Corolla is not well maintained.
- 7:25Speaker 4: My Jaguar is all right. Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 3: But the fact is the guy caught you because you
- 7:29Speaker 3: had his sun visor. Right, hold on for a minute,
- 7:31Speaker 3: Ted Bell is with us here. He pulled a sunvisor
- 7:33Speaker 3: out of somebody's car, a Corolla, and put in his
- 7:36Speaker 3: jag What gives you the right to do that?
- 7:39Speaker 4: I'm sorry?
- 7:39Speaker 2: What gives you the right to do that?
- 7:40Speaker 5: Oh?
- 7:41Speaker 4: It gives me the right. He's got a Corolla, I
- 7:43Speaker 4: got a Jaguar. Okay. The Corona is worth a backtops
- 7:47Speaker 4: ten thousand dollars. Jaguars seventy three thousand dollars. Okay, that's
- 7:51Speaker 4: the reason. Number two, the Corona's owned by some Asian
- 7:54Speaker 4: guy who worked in a print shop. I'm a little
- 7:57Speaker 4: sat about a co boulevard. The Jag zoned vite. Okay,
- 8:01Speaker 4: different number three, Different number four. This Corolla is like
- 8:05Speaker 4: dun brown or something, and the Jag is gun metal.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I made a judgment car build if this Asian fella
- 8:11Speaker 4: didn't require the sundvisor for his car as much as
- 8:14Speaker 4: he thought he did. Okay, given the fact that Ted
- 8:17Speaker 4: Bell had just arrived in a two thousand XK eight
- 8:20Speaker 4: convertible with seventy three thousand dollars.
- 8:23Speaker 2: You know what if you're gonna steal.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Ted who watch it? Watch it?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Well, you took the thing out of the guy.
- 8:30Speaker 4: I gave it back to him. Phil, all right, if.
- 8:33Speaker 3: You're gonna borrow another man's sun visor, you have to
- 8:35Speaker 3: turn it upside down or something, Okay, so that you
- 8:37Speaker 3: don't have that big, huge La Dodger logo that was
- 8:40Speaker 3: in that guy's car just a few minutes before.
- 8:43Speaker 2: All right, I mean.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Brow Burrow, Film Barrow. That's what we're talking about.
- 8:47Speaker 3: What if the guy came out and was ready to leave, Okay,
- 8:50Speaker 3: he was ready to leave and you weren't there. You
- 8:52Speaker 3: still have his borrowed visor in your car. How is
- 8:55Speaker 3: he supposed to get that out?
- 8:56Speaker 4: There is, Phil, there is? It was not a long
- 9:00Speaker 4: time from the way. So the Chinese, you know, he's
- 9:04Speaker 4: I don't know, the chinaman is pressing his chops. I
- 9:06Speaker 4: gotta be to court in three weeks for varn this
- 9:09Speaker 4: guy sunvisor. I don't think it's fair. And as I
- 9:12Speaker 4: said to Mike before I went on the air, I'm
- 9:14Speaker 4: trying to get a deal done for this deal restaurant.
- 9:17Speaker 3: And I understand about your restaurant, but you've got a
- 9:19Speaker 3: bigger problem. They're pulling a sun visor out of the
- 9:22Speaker 3: guy's car.
- 9:22Speaker 2: What if it's been some money? What if it been.
- 9:27Speaker 4: What? Let's not go there, Phil, Okay, all right, I
- 9:30Speaker 4: know you're.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Not a thief. I know you're not a thief. I
- 9:32Speaker 3: think it's brainless to take a sun.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Visor the car.
- 9:36Speaker 4: You think it's brainless. Yeah, let's go through this. His
- 9:40Speaker 4: car was a Toyota Corolla.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I don't care what kind of a car it was.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Ted you know it was his car.
- 9:45Speaker 4: It was No, it's a it's a light bottle Corolla.
- 9:48Speaker 4: This Chinaman doesn't care. The dash is cracked, the paints
- 9:51Speaker 4: peeling up in this thing. I got a night, I
- 9:53Speaker 4: got a two thousand, seventy three thousand dollars Jaguars sitting
- 9:57Speaker 4: out there. What's the matter with you?
- 10:00Speaker 2: What's the matter with you that you left your sun
- 10:02Speaker 2: visor at home? Man?
- 10:04Speaker 4: Okay, I think there needs to be some allowance. And
- 10:06Speaker 4: I'm gonna tell the judge this when I go to court,
- 10:08Speaker 4: because I gotta be up there in three weeks. Do
- 10:11Speaker 4: we really have to get upset over this guy's vinyl
- 10:14Speaker 4: versus my leter? Is that what this is coming to.
- 10:17Speaker 4: We're getting upset over this guy's vinyl instead of my leather. Right,
- 10:20Speaker 4: I need to explain this to a judge. You know,
- 10:23Speaker 4: I can't wait to get in the courtroom with everyday people,
- 10:25Speaker 4: ordinary people that I would and I will or you
- 10:28Speaker 4: know what, I would ordinarily hire attorney. I'm gonna hire
- 10:30Speaker 4: Attorney'm gona go to myself and the Chinaman is no threat.
- 10:33Speaker 4: I'll get the judge straight and I'll set that cop
- 10:36Speaker 4: straight to Okay, I'm Ted Bell and a lot of
- 10:38Speaker 4: these people.
- 10:39Speaker 3: You may be Ted Bell man, but you go into
- 10:41Speaker 3: a courtroom after ripping off some I don't care if
- 10:44Speaker 3: it is just a sun Visor. All right, you're gonna
- 10:46Speaker 3: have the judge gonna throw the book at you. Okay,
- 10:48Speaker 3: you reach into the.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Guy's car and I'll get the judge set straight. When
- 10:52Speaker 4: I'm talking about seventy three thousand dollars Jack versus Corona,
- 10:55Speaker 4: you don't understand. Okay, you don't understand.
- 10:58Speaker 2: All right, Well, maybe I don't unders stand.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Ten thousand dollars Corolla, seventy three thousand dollars jag my Sundvisor,
- 11:07Speaker 4: my Sundvisor.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Even though it's in his even though it's in his car.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You've been Philadelphia on the Phil Henry Show. Hello Philadelphia, Hello, Hello,
- 11:18Speaker 3: yes hi Hi.
- 11:20Speaker 6: I am flabbergasted that this gentleman believes he has a
- 11:24Speaker 6: justifiable right.
- 11:26Speaker 5: I've got to know what he did.
- 11:27Speaker 4: I think I've got an argument. So what I'm saying,
- 11:30Speaker 4: you're talking about seventy three thousand dollars.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Jaguar pointless, irregardless, irregardless of what he owned, what his
- 11:40Speaker 6: race is, or anything, that that advisor was worth more
- 11:44Speaker 6: to him than it would have been worth you.
- 11:46Speaker 4: He with the race. I just said he was a
- 11:48Speaker 4: Chinese view. I'm telling you he's a Chinese guy. I
- 11:50Speaker 4: don't have any problem with him being Chinese. But he's
- 11:53Speaker 4: jumping up and down. He's got a Toyota Corolla. So
- 11:58Speaker 4: those things you can give those things away. And if
- 12:00Speaker 4: you looked at this, at the paint on this guy's car,
- 12:04Speaker 4: see if that's what I'm saying, if you understood what
- 12:06Speaker 4: it was to own an x K eight, what kind
- 12:08Speaker 4: of car do you have?
- 12:10Speaker 6: Myself? A Bonneville irregardless.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Makes no difference.
- 12:13Speaker 5: You don't have any.
- 12:16Speaker 6: Way? Is this if Donald Trump there? If Donald Trump
- 12:20Speaker 6: had a flat tire next to your vehicle and he
- 12:23Speaker 6: took your tires off of his vehicle, and the justification
- 12:26Speaker 6: that he pull was that his vehicle is worth so
- 12:29Speaker 6: much more than your vehicle, would you feel comfortable walking home?
- 12:32Speaker 4: Do you want an answer? Yes? I do. I would
- 12:35Speaker 4: feel honored if mister Trump needed my tires because I
- 12:38Speaker 4: respect it.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Oh, come on, Ted.
- 12:40Speaker 4: I'm telling I am telling both you, gentlemen, the Trump
- 12:44Speaker 4: I would feel Oh please, the tires that bad? Okay?
- 12:49Speaker 3: And so John, Donald Trump leaves you there with your
- 12:52Speaker 3: car on blocks while he drives off with your tires.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Donald Trump has a lot more important places to go
- 12:58Speaker 4: than I do, or you do, or this gentleman in Philadelphia,
- 13:00Speaker 4: phil I'm sorry. Donald Trump's got places to go with
- 13:03Speaker 4: people to meet you and me, well, let's just say me.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Then there's you and this guy in Philadelphia. So but
- 13:10Speaker 4: a Donald Trump is high, then Ted Bell then comes
- 13:13Speaker 4: you two guys in terms of what in terms of
- 13:16Speaker 4: important you know the places you got to go to.
- 13:19Speaker 4: I regardless.
- 13:23Speaker 6: What you to do, how longs you oppose your arguments
- 13:26Speaker 6: to the judge so that he doesn't give you a minimumiz, he.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Gives you a maximum.
- 13:33Speaker 4: I'll set the judge straight. Don't worry about that.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Ted Bell is with us. He's opening up a new
- 13:37Speaker 3: restaurant in Santa Barbara. He's he's got a brand new jag.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Is that right, Mike? Did you hear about this? What's
- 13:41Speaker 3: at x K eight seventy three thousand dollars jag? He
- 13:45Speaker 3: forgot the sun visor, so he took one out of
- 13:47Speaker 3: some guy's car in the parking lot over there on
- 13:49Speaker 3: little Santa Monica Boulevard, And apparently it was some Corolla.
- 13:52Speaker 3: So Ted figures are what the heck? The guy's Corolla
- 13:55Speaker 3: is a rolling piece of garbage. I got my jag
- 13:58Speaker 3: He's going to see a judging three weeks. Phil Henry Show,
- 14:13Speaker 3: Phil Henry Show. Ted Bell, who's opening up Ted's of
- 14:16Speaker 3: Beverly Hills in Santa Barbara. This will be the second
- 14:19Speaker 3: location for Ted's restaurant. Are you in the restaurant right now?
- 14:23Speaker 4: Ted A, all right, I'm in Beverly Hills. There Beverly
- 14:26Speaker 4: Hills location right now. Because of the afternoon, the late afternoon,
- 14:29Speaker 4: I had to come back here.
- 14:31Speaker 2: All right.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Now, you grabbed a you got a brand spec a
- 14:34Speaker 3: new Jaguar. You're parking out there in Santa Monica Boulevard.
- 14:37Speaker 3: You grab the visor out of a guy's car and
- 14:39Speaker 3: put it into your car. And now you got to
- 14:40Speaker 3: go to see a judge.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Bill this guy, if you want to see you other
- 14:44Speaker 4: there's a guy standing there's mister Miyagie standing there and
- 14:47Speaker 4: he wants to I don't know whether he's got the
- 14:49Speaker 4: karate style dealing. What's gonna go on? I said to
- 14:51Speaker 4: the guy. I was, I was gonna be back in
- 14:53Speaker 4: fifteen minutes. I said, look my car, your car, Jaguar Corol. Well,
- 15:00Speaker 4: big difference, okay, And what did he say? Well, he
- 15:03Speaker 4: said to me, it didn't make any Did I know
- 15:05Speaker 4: the guy's going to start laying some Chinese on even
- 15:07Speaker 4: turns out he spoke English.
- 15:09Speaker 3: He was, you try to be funny, and I don't
- 15:11Speaker 3: want you to be funny, right Ted, I need to
- 15:12Speaker 3: get to the bottom.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I'm sorry. He said that he did, he that, He

- 21:16Speaker 4: you that's correct. I did not steal. What I did
- 21:19Speaker 4: was I borrowed the sun visor for a valuable seventy

- 21:26Speaker 4: guy has got a pack, he's got a passle a
- 21:28Speaker 4: Chinese cookies and then what do you call him? Fortune deals?
- 21:31Speaker 4: They're in the.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Vets, fortune cookies right in the backseat. And you told
- 21:35Speaker 3: me he was working for a print shop on a
- 21:37Speaker 3: little Santa Monica whatever, Floyd being.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I had to get the car park protected for the
- 21:42Speaker 4: sun over to the veting and Buddy Patten's attorney's office.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Turn around, come back, chinaman's there jumping up in dead.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I didn't want to talk about this still. I wanted
- 21:51Speaker 4: to talk about Ted to Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara

- 22:15Speaker 3: I think you they got a classy steakhouse man.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Act like it. Here is l Passo on a Phil
- 22:20Speaker 2: Henry show. Hello, Hello, Yes Hi, this is for mister Bell.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Really unbelievable. You don't understand what I do for a living.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I understand what you do for a living. Listen to
- 22:28Speaker 2: the caller. Go ahead, ma'am mister Bell.
- 22:30Speaker 9: Yes, Beam, your Jaguar is worth seventy three thousand dollars.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Twenty three thousand. That's the brand new two thousand XK
- 22:36Speaker 4: XK eight.
- 22:37Speaker 9: Well, congratulations on buying your car.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 22:39Speaker 9: But my question to you is if you can afford
- 22:41Speaker 9: a seventy three thousand dollars Jaguar. Why can't you go
- 22:43Speaker 9: to Walmart and get a five dollars visor?
- 22:45Speaker 4: I had two of them. I forgot them in the
- 22:46Speaker 4: garage at my home, I said, so at the outset.
- 22:48Speaker 4: I have two, but they were left in the garage.
- 22:51Speaker 4: My wife uses him, and I simply took off because
- 22:54Speaker 4: I was late for the meeting with Marty Patton. What
- 22:56Speaker 4: am I supposed to do when you've got that soft
- 22:58Speaker 4: lambskin leather. I'm the dashing on the seats. The sun's
- 23:02Speaker 4: beating down, it's about a million degrees. You want me
- 23:05Speaker 4: to ruin seventy three thousand dollars worth of car so
- 23:07Speaker 4: some Corolla's vital dash can get protected. Well, it doesn't matter,
- 23:12Speaker 4: that's what you're saying, right, No, see Ted, get words in.
- 23:15Speaker 9: My mouth, mister Bell, I say that to have parked
- 23:18Speaker 9: the car away from the sun.
- 23:20Speaker 4: What was I putting in your mouth?
- 23:23Speaker 9: Say that?
- 23:24Speaker 4: Okay, what I'm saying is simply this, I blew it.
- 23:28Speaker 4: I borrowed the sun visor. I put it in my car.
- 23:31Speaker 4: What's the big crime? The Corolla doesn't need it?
- 23:36Speaker 9: To be saying that the poor Corolla doesn't need it?
- 23:38Speaker 9: That I mean my Camray and my my ranger need advisors.
- 23:43Speaker 4: I have VISs Ted Bell made a judgment call.
- 23:46Speaker 9: Well to you and Ted Bell if they're the same people, Yes,
- 23:50Speaker 9: go to Walmart and get another one.
- 23:51Speaker 2: You are you are? Ted Bell?
- 23:54Speaker 4: Ted Bell is? Yes?
- 23:56Speaker 9: Yes, Ted, I guess there's two of them, sir, him
- 23:58Speaker 9: and Ted Bell.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Ted Bell is your Ted Bell? Right?
- 24:02Speaker 4: Yes?
- 24:03Speaker 2: And why the third person?
- 24:04Speaker 4: That's what we do in business. We're a collective. Ted Bell,
- 24:08Speaker 4: here's what you're saying.
- 24:10Speaker 9: Ted Bell disagrees, Well, I've never heard Donald Trump refer
- 24:13Speaker 9: to himself in the third person.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Hey, Donald Trump, I know very very well. He's a
- 24:17Speaker 4: successful you know, Donald Trump, Ted Bell interchangeable.
- 24:21Speaker 9: I mean, I've seen Donald Trump on interviews and I've
- 24:23Speaker 9: never heard him say, well, Donald Trump had to buy this,
- 24:26Speaker 9: Donald Trump had to get that. Now, what's up with that?
- 24:28Speaker 4: Ted Bell's never heard that either. That's what I'm saying, right, Okay,
- 24:32Speaker 4: So really you need to understand the world of business
- 24:35Speaker 4: and how it works. And I do appreciate talking with you.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Jesus, I thought we were going to talk about your
- 24:40Speaker 3: brand new restaurant. Instead we're talking about Ted Bell stealing
- 24:44Speaker 3: a cardboard visor out.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Of a Corolla and whoa woo?
- 24:48Speaker 2: All right, borrowing?
- 24:50Speaker 4: You got it?
- 24:51Speaker 3: A cardboard visor out of a Corolla, Sonoma on The
- 24:53Speaker 3: Phil Henry Show.
- 24:54Speaker 4: Hello.
- 24:55Speaker 10: Yes, I'm just really surprised that a man who is
- 24:59Speaker 10: in thisiness thinks like he does.
- 25:02Speaker 4: He thinks so important.
- 25:04Speaker 10: I think that he's almost studying to be a little hitler.
- 25:07Speaker 4: No, man, Ted Bell has been very successful.
- 25:09Speaker 10: I don't care who Ted Bell has been successful. There's
- 25:12Speaker 10: other human beings in the world just as important as
- 25:15Speaker 10: you are.
- 25:15Speaker 4: You're you're up in the gorgeous wine country of Sonola. Yes,
- 25:19Speaker 4: absolutely spectacular. And when Ted ted Bell brings Ted's Beverly
- 25:23Speaker 4: Hills Steakhouse to Sonola.
- 25:24Speaker 10: I used to live down South. I worked in the
- 25:26Speaker 10: movie industry, and I've known a lot of millionaires. It
- 25:29Speaker 10: doesn't make them act like that. I've never seen anybody
- 25:32Speaker 10: act like you. I'm really shocked.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Ted Bell owns. The state is.
- 25:37Speaker 10: Overly maniac about Ted Bell.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Overly maniacal.
- 25:41Speaker 10: Yes, you are? You think Ted Bell is something very special?
- 25:46Speaker 2: Could you just call yourself me instead of Ted Bell?
- 25:49Speaker 4: Of course?
- 25:49Speaker 10: Yeah, that's the other thing he made.
- 25:52Speaker 2: What's he doing? He's saying Ted Bell? This?
- 25:54Speaker 4: Ted Bell made a judgment called ted Bell took the
- 25:58Speaker 4: visor out of the Corolla, the Chinese or whatever heck
- 26:00Speaker 4: do you call? What kind of car do you drive here?
- 26:03Speaker 10: Where is Ted Bell's value system?
- 26:06Speaker 4: Ted Bell's value system was well today, I left it
- 26:09Speaker 4: at home.
- 26:09Speaker 10: I guess, I guess you have. You got it too
- 26:12Speaker 10: impressed by your business and your money and your nobody is.
- 26:18Speaker 10: I don't think Clinton would even do that.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Ted Bell, ask you a question, Sure he can't.
- 26:23Speaker 10: Don't tell me what kind of car I drive?
- 26:25Speaker 4: What kind of car do you drive here?
- 26:27Speaker 10: A much better car than yours? I had a yes
- 26:31Speaker 10: ninety nine Lexus.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Nice card, not as not as good as a Jag,
- 26:36Speaker 4: but a nice card. I don't believe.
- 26:39Speaker 10: I just can't believe they can.
- 26:41Speaker 4: You're right.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Let me let me ask you something.
- 26:44Speaker 10: Judge will stake you up.
- 26:45Speaker 2: If the lady in.
- 26:46Speaker 3: The in Sonoma, if she parked her Lexus in a
- 26:48Speaker 3: restaurant parking lot and oh she needed to protect her dash,
- 26:52Speaker 3: do you think she has the right to take the
- 26:53Speaker 3: visor out of some guy's Corolla?
- 26:55Speaker 4: Absolutely?
- 26:55Speaker 10: Absolutely not. I would put a sweater or a colder,
- 26:58Speaker 10: get some paper of the street ruin.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Your thousand dollars sweaters. So some something I would.
- 27:04Speaker 10: I would get a piece of paper off the street.
- 27:06Speaker 10: I'm more ingenious and taking some other don't you right?
- 27:09Speaker 4: You know what you do. I offered this mister Miyagi

- 27:30Speaker 4: Get a load of the language. Ted Bells offended. It's
- 27:33Speaker 4: just Ted Bells offended by your language.
- 27:35Speaker 10: You're what okay?
- 27:37Speaker 4: Look, I offered mister Miagi ten percent.
- 27:39Speaker 2: We got it.
- 27:42Speaker 10: Because you made a mistake. You know you made a mistake.
- 27:44Speaker 10: But just don't ever think like that again. Everybody is
- 27:48Speaker 10: important you, whether they have money or on me.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Steaks on me? You come to Ted to Beverly Hills

- 28:50Speaker 4: Is it right here?
- 28:51Speaker 11: I'm wondering, I'm winning a business myself. I'm just a student,

- 28:59Speaker 11: city liberal with a university setting, that promoting your your
- 29:04Speaker 11: restaurant in this manner is is really like ins attempt
- 29:08Speaker 11: in what manner?
- 29:09Speaker 4: Dude?
- 29:09Speaker 11: Well, you are making some connotations towards race. You're also
- 29:12Speaker 11: making some connotations towards the valuation of women, and you're
- 29:16Speaker 11: also valuing people on a monetary basis.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Well, that's true. I'll tell you something about Santa Barbara.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Santa Barbara has an idea of itself. I don't think
- 29:23Speaker 4: it's yet formed, and I think we do get a
- 29:25Speaker 4: very strong personality into the Santa Barbara business scene. Like
- 29:28Speaker 4: like Ted Bell, you are going to see a whole
- 29:30Speaker 4: lot of people eating meat. Uh yeah. You people up
- 29:35Speaker 4: there love to think you don't think your stuff smells,
- 29:37Speaker 4: But I can tell you crap brown like everybody else.
- 29:40Speaker 3: And when you boy, you are really doing a great job,
- 29:42Speaker 3: but you are just really hitting that out of the park.
- 29:44Speaker 3: You're promoting your rest You crap brown like everybody else.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, you're right. Wait wait wait,
- 29:49Speaker 4: wait a second, what are you trying to say?
- 29:52Speaker 11: Come on, I think the point here is that you're
- 29:55Speaker 11: that you're doing a very poor job of by yourself.
- 29:58Speaker 11: Thank you as a restaurant.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Is you people in Santa bar You know you want
- 30:02Speaker 4: to wrap your rice in seaweed and long that.
- 30:05Speaker 11: Well, do you want to do that? Beverly Hills too?
- 30:07Speaker 4: Or we do, yes, we do, but we have a
- 30:08Speaker 4: little bit more of a kind of problem attitude. This
- 30:10Speaker 4: is a big city, Santa barbar But what do you
