- 2:39Speaker 3: post links, upload pics and videos. We can do just
- 2:43Speaker 3: a little more in the community. So we want to
- 2:45Speaker 3: have fun as we grow together. And our walk with
- 2:48Speaker 3: the Lord, the Bible tells us that the narrow path
- 2:52Speaker 3: is the path that leads to life. And so that's
- 2:55Speaker 3: who this podcast is for. If you want to walk
- 2:58Speaker 3: that narrow path and if you want to find life. Right.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Because that is the most important thing. Once we leave
- 3:11Speaker 3: this earth, the most important thing is what did we do?
- 3:17Speaker 3: With Jesus Christ, right? Did we walk that narrow path?
- 3:22Speaker 3: And it also says that broad is the road that
- 3:25Speaker 3: leads to destruction. And many are those who go by
- 3:28Speaker 3: that way. And so God gives us a choice. He's
- 3:32Speaker 3: always given us a choice. Even in the Garden of Eden,
- 3:36Speaker 3: there were two trees, the knowledge, the tree of life
- 3:39Speaker 3: and the knowledge of good and evil. So we have
- 3:44Speaker 3: the choice as well, the broad road or the narrow road.
- 3:48Speaker 3: And so on the narrow road, we're going to need encouragement.
- 3:51Speaker 3: We're going to need people who will pray for us,
- 3:53Speaker 3: people who will hold us accountable, people who will share
- 3:58Speaker 3: God's word because our hearts get jumbled up a lot.
- 4:01Speaker 3: We need to renew our minds. We need to guard
- 4:05Speaker 3: our hearts with all diligence. Like this stuff is real.
- 4:08Speaker 3: It's not a game. And so this is the purpose
- 4:12Speaker 3: of our platform. We want to walk with you and
- 4:16Speaker 3: walk through life. the narrow gates together. We have a blueprint.
- 4:21Speaker 3: We have a map. It is called the Bible. And
- 4:24Speaker 3: the Bible says that the engrafted word is able to
- 4:27Speaker 3: save our souls. So if you haven't noticed by now,
- 4:31Speaker 3: the word of God is our backbone and our fellowship
- 4:35Speaker 3: with one another, a life of prayer, everything that Jesus
- 4:39Speaker 3: said to go and make disciples. This is what we
- 4:44Speaker 3: do on this platform. Also, we do encourage you to
- 4:48Speaker 3: find a home church. We know that there's bad churches
- 4:53Speaker 3: out there, but there's also some good churches out there.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to one because
- 5:00Speaker 3: you're going to need that too. You need more than
- 5:03Speaker 3: just this platform. You're going to need a covering of
- 5:06Speaker 3: a church, a godly pastor and brothers and sisters, godly leadership.
- 5:12Speaker 3: God is giving gifts to the church and God has
- 5:15Speaker 3: not changed his mind. church is still his plan. So,
- 5:20Speaker 3: amen with that. Let's go ahead and pray. Heavenly Father,
- 5:26Speaker 3: we just thank you for another time, another opportunity, Father,
- 5:29Speaker 3: to get right today. Let us not go to bed
- 5:33Speaker 3: tonight with sin in our hearts. Let us not go
- 5:36Speaker 3: to bed tonight with pride still embedded in our DNA.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Let us get it right, Lord. Let us repent. Let
- 5:43Speaker 3: us make the adjustments, oh God. Let us change in
- 5:47Speaker 3: the areas where we need to change, oh God. We ask, Lord,
- 5:51Speaker 3: in every area where we struggle, we ask for help
- 5:54Speaker 3: of the Holy Spirit. We ask for empowerment by the
- 5:58Speaker 3: Holy Spirit. We ask for grace, oh God, so that
- 6:01Speaker 3: we can, oh Lord, become the men and the women
- 6:06Speaker 3: that you desire us to become, your children. In Jesus'
- 6:12Speaker 3: mighty name, amen. Amen.
- 6:17Speaker 2: All right.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Well, I didn't give you background, but today we're going
- 6:21Speaker 3: to continue through Jeremiah chapter 22. We're going to start
- 6:25Speaker 3: at verse 18 through 23. Now, in our last episode,
- 6:29Speaker 3: we saw God expose King Jehoiakim's heart. If you can remember,
- 6:35Speaker 3: he was all about the palace. He was building an
- 6:38Speaker 3: oppressive house, but was not doing the right things. He
- 6:43Speaker 3: was doing it in unrighteousness. He wanted the luxury status
- 6:47Speaker 3: while people were suffering because of his actions. He didn't
- 6:52Speaker 3: want to pay. He felt like he didn't have to
- 6:54Speaker 3: pay people. He felt like because he was a king
- 6:59Speaker 3: that everybody owed him. Right. Leadership is responsibility and people
- 7:07Speaker 3: just want the privileges of it. And God contrasts him
- 7:12Speaker 3: with his father, Josiah. who judged the cause of the
- 7:17Speaker 3: poor and the needy. Now, beginning in verse 18, God
- 7:21Speaker 3: tells Jeremiah what will happen to Jehoiakim. Now, there's a
- 7:27Speaker 3: powerful warning in this episode. A person can surround himself
- 7:32Speaker 3: with luxury, but he cannot hide from the consequences of
- 7:38Speaker 3: rejecting God. Amen. We see so many people do this
- 7:44Speaker 3: today we see billionaires and millionaires they think they're above
- 7:48Speaker 3: the law they think they're untouchable they think they're safe
- 7:55Speaker 3: and we even see celebrities celebrities do crazy things a
- 7:59Speaker 3: lot of these celebrities have nasty deeds and they're gonna
- 8:03Speaker 3: have to give an account every crooked politician every crooked
- 8:07Speaker 3: celebrity every crooked pastor false prophet It doesn't pay to
- 8:16Speaker 3: go against God. Amen. God wants righteousness. He wants integrity.
- 8:21Speaker 3: He wants fairness. He wants justice. And all those things
- 8:26Speaker 3: are attached to his loving heart. He loves all of us.
- 8:31Speaker 3: How would you like it if somebody mistreated your child?
- 8:34Speaker 3: You would be upset, right? Amen. Just think of our
- 8:38Speaker 3: heavenly father. All right, let's start together in verse 18.
- 8:46Speaker 3: And I'm coming at you from the New King James.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Verse 18. Therefore, thus says the Lord concerning Jehoiakim, the
- 8:53Speaker 3: son of Josiah, king of Judah. They shall not lament
- 8:59Speaker 3: for him. Wow. So that means this guy is about
- 9:03Speaker 3: to get taken out and nobody is going to cry. saying, Alas,
- 9:08Speaker 3: my brother, or alas, my sister, they shall not lament
- 9:13Speaker 3: for him, saying, Alas, master, or alas, his glory. Wow. Now,
- 9:27Speaker 3: let's break this down. So God gives his judgment concerning
- 9:33Speaker 3: Jehoiakim and notice that What's missing? Honor. There would be
- 9:42Speaker 3: no great honoring celebration or ceremony. In other words, this
- 9:49Speaker 3: is a king who's going to die with no honor.
- 9:55Speaker 3: There's no heartfelt public celebration of his life. at all.
- 10:02Speaker 3: No cries of, ah, my brother, or, ah, Lord. No
- 10:09Speaker 3: celebration of his glory. Why? Because simply he had used
- 10:16Speaker 3: his position for himself instead of using it Now, that
- 10:24Speaker 3: is a serious lesson for us today, right? We spend
- 10:28Speaker 3: a lot of time thinking about how people will remember us.
- 10:34Speaker 3: What will they say about us once we're gone, right?
- 10:39Speaker 3: What will they post about us on social media? We
- 10:44Speaker 3: just had a brother pass away. Shout out. to our
- 10:50Speaker 3: brother Rare Breed. He has been a supporter of His
- 10:53Speaker 3: Hot Nation. I got him on the radio. I got
- 10:58Speaker 3: an interview with him, a couple of drops. And he's
- 11:02Speaker 3: been out to the club and he's had a heart. Man,
- 11:04Speaker 3: I've watched him do things in LA. He tried to
- 11:08Speaker 3: stop the violence and things like that. And I believe
- 11:13Speaker 3: it was a natural passing thing And he was all
- 11:17Speaker 3: over social media. And so I want to send my
- 11:19Speaker 3: flowers and send my love as well. Someone contacted me
- 11:24Speaker 3: to let me know about him. And, you know, we
- 11:28Speaker 3: send our love from his nation to our brother. And
- 11:32Speaker 3: there were a lot of people who were saying a
- 11:34Speaker 3: lot of positive things about him as he passed away.
- 11:43Speaker 3: So what will they post about us? Are we leaving
- 11:46Speaker 3: a legacy? What will people say at our funeral? But
- 11:56Speaker 3: Jeremiah focuses, he forces us to think deeper, right? What
- 12:05Speaker 3: does God think about the way we live? And that's
- 12:09Speaker 3: what really matters. You can have people praising you while
- 12:15Speaker 3: God is correcting you. You can have a large platform
- 12:22Speaker 3: while your character is still falling apart. And we see
- 12:29Speaker 3: this all the time. We have people calling you successful
- 12:35Speaker 3: while God is calling you to repent. A public reputation
- 12:45Speaker 3: and God's evaluation are not always the same thing. Remember that, beloved.
- 12:53Speaker 3: That's why we need to care more about character than
- 12:58Speaker 3: getting applause. You know, even in my ministry, I've had
- 13:03Speaker 3: a lot of complaints. The number one complaint was that
- 13:07Speaker 3: I did not go out to support other people's events.
- 13:12Speaker 3: when people came out to support my event. And yes,
- 13:19Speaker 3: I will admit, I was not able to go to
- 13:21Speaker 3: everyone's event. One reason was because the people that I
- 13:28Speaker 3: was discipling and working with at the time, they could
- 13:32Speaker 3: not afford to come to theirs. And I could not
- 13:36Speaker 3: afford to pay for all of us to get in.
- 13:41Speaker 3: And so there were different reasons. And also my heart
- 13:44Speaker 3: was the outreach. You know, I my attitude. Well, if
- 13:50Speaker 3: God is you got God there and God's presence there,
- 13:53Speaker 3: why are you upset that I didn't show up? But
- 13:58Speaker 3: now that I think about it, you know, I could
- 14:00Speaker 3: have been a little more supportive. I mean, there's nothing
- 14:04Speaker 3: wrong with supporting our brothers and our sisters in the Lord.
- 14:08Speaker 3: So maybe I should have made more of an effort.
- 14:10Speaker 3: So I would say that would be immaturity on my part.
- 14:14Speaker 3: And then I did find out later that, you know,
- 14:17Speaker 3: I could have donated like five bucks and all of
- 14:19Speaker 3: us could have gotten in. But if they would have
- 14:23Speaker 3: just came and we would have had that conversation, all
- 14:27Speaker 3: the foolishness could have been squashed. You know what I mean?
- 14:31Speaker 3: So there's always a way to cover each other. And
- 14:37Speaker 3: especially in the church and ministry, you know what I mean?
- 14:39Speaker 3: There's always a way. Go to your brother or sister.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Go and say, hey, you know what? I need you
- 14:44Speaker 3: to come and support what I'm doing. And then I
- 14:48Speaker 3: would have been like, well, you know, there's, you know,
- 14:51Speaker 3: a group of us and I can't pay for everyone.
- 14:54Speaker 3: A lot of people that were in my crew were
- 14:57Speaker 3: from the rescue mission that I was picking up and
- 15:00Speaker 3: ministering to. Awesome people. You know what I mean? And
- 15:03Speaker 3: we just didn't have it that way. So. You know,
- 15:07Speaker 3: just some nuggets, some wisdom from my past experience. Don't
- 15:14Speaker 3: just listen to the gossip and don't just assume things.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Go and have that conversation that could bring, that could
- 15:23Speaker 3: keep unity in the body. You know what I mean?
- 15:26Speaker 3: Especially if we are outreaching. All right. Verse 19 says,
- 15:35Speaker 3: He shall be buried with the burial of a donkey,
- 15:41Speaker 3: dragged and cast out beyond the gates of Jerusalem. Now,
- 15:47Speaker 3: how many of us can tell that the Lord is upset? Right?
- 15:54Speaker 3: This is one of the strongest statements in this passage.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Jehoiakim wanted a magnificent house. He wanted cedar. He wanted status.
- 16:05Speaker 3: He wanted the appearance of greatness. He wanted people to
- 16:09Speaker 3: think of him as something great. But God says his
- 16:14Speaker 3: end would be dishonorable. The king who wanted to live
- 16:20Speaker 3: like royalty would not receive the royal burial he wanted
- 16:27Speaker 3: to experience. Now, think about the contrast. A beautiful house,
- 16:37Speaker 3: a dishonorable burial. A royal position, a humiliating end. Luxury
- 16:45Speaker 3: and then judgment. Public power, personal accountability. Jehoiakim focused on
- 16:55Speaker 3: what he could build. God was looking at what he
- 16:59Speaker 3: had become. Now, this is a wake up call for
- 17:06Speaker 3: all of us right here, right? Now, Joachim had been
- 17:12Speaker 3: given tremendous privilege as king, but he abused that privilege.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Instead of following the example of his father, Josiah, he
- 17:23Speaker 3: pursued his own interest. You know, people are placed in
- 17:28Speaker 3: our lives to be examples, to show us the way.
- 17:33Speaker 3: to give instruction. And a lot of us feel like
- 17:36Speaker 3: we are not teachable. We know it all. We rather
- 17:40Speaker 3: do it our own way. That is a horrible spirit
- 17:45Speaker 3: to have.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Amen.
- 17:49Speaker 3: People are there for our protection and for our own good. Now,
- 17:54Speaker 3: this man was disgraced and the disgrace described in 19
- 17:59Speaker 3: demonstrates how completely his earthly glory would disappear, right? Human
- 18:07Speaker 3: status is temporary. Nobody cares about how big your house
- 18:11Speaker 3: is once you pass away, right? A king may sit
- 18:20Speaker 3: on the throne today, but if God rejects him, or
- 18:23Speaker 3: if he rejects God rather, the throne cannot protect him
- 18:28Speaker 3: from God's judgment. The passage reminds us that earthly glory
- 18:35Speaker 3: is temporary while our accountability before God is real. Now,
- 18:41Speaker 3: can you imagine the Lord says he's going to get
- 18:44Speaker 3: the burial of a donkey? Like, we got to understand
- 18:51Speaker 3: God's character. People don't imagine, they can't think of God
- 18:56Speaker 3: saying things like this, right? But this is God. This
- 19:01Speaker 3: is his revealed word. That's why we got to stay
- 19:04Speaker 3: in the word. I definitely don't want the burial of
- 19:09Speaker 3: a donkey or to be judged or dishonored because I
- 19:14Speaker 3: did not work on my character and who I am.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I did not seek or pursue the Lord. I did
- 19:20Speaker 3: not fast or pray. Amen. These are commandments. And God
- 19:28Speaker 3: is not planned. Verse 20, go up to Lebanon and
- 19:38Speaker 3: cry out and lift up your voice. And Bashan, cry
- 19:45Speaker 3: for Abraham. try to butcher those names for all your
- 19:52Speaker 3: lovers are destroyed hallelujah now God tells Jeremiah to cry
- 20:03Speaker 3: out from different elevated places Lebanon Bashan And the passages
- 20:13Speaker 3: or these are mountain routes. These are routes and passages
- 20:18Speaker 3: through mountains. Now, these locations give the picture of crying
- 20:24Speaker 3: out across the land. There's another important phase right here.
- 20:30Speaker 3: All thy lovers are destroyed.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Now, the language of lovers can describe the nations and
- 20:47Speaker 3: the allegiances of Judah. And instead of depending and trusting
- 20:59Speaker 3: in God, Judah had looked outwardly for security. Those relationships
- 21:07Speaker 3: could not save them. They looked to places like Egypt
- 21:13Speaker 3: where Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Egypt. They looked to other countries that
- 21:18Speaker 3: would help protect them instead of looking towards the Lord,
- 21:24Speaker 3: their God. Now, this is where we do need to
- 21:29Speaker 3: examine ourselves right here. When things happen, where do we
- 21:35Speaker 3: look when we are afraid? I'm going through situations myself, beloved,
- 21:43Speaker 3: and they're very scary. Very scary. But who do we
- 21:51Speaker 3: trust when things fall apart? Our financial situations, right? Our connections,
- 22:03Speaker 3: our political power, a job, a business, a relationship, our
- 22:08Speaker 3: own abilities. None of these things are necessarily wrong, but
- 22:14Speaker 3: none of them can take God's place. So resources are useful,
- 22:22Speaker 3: but they are not God. People can help you. Businesses
- 22:30Speaker 3: can provide opportunities and friends can support you. But ultimately,
- 22:34Speaker 3: our trust belongs to God and to God alone. Verse 22. No,
- 22:52Speaker 3: verse 21. I spoke to you in your prosperity, but
- 22:57Speaker 3: you said I will not hear. This has been your
- 23:02Speaker 3: manner from your youth. That you did not obey my voice. Amen.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Now this. It may be one of the most important
- 23:16Speaker 3: verses in today's episode. God says, I spoke to you
- 23:21Speaker 3: in your prosperity. Now notice that God didn't only speak
- 23:27Speaker 3: when things were going badly. He spoke while they are
- 23:31Speaker 3: going good. And they refused him. So now that's a
- 23:40Speaker 3: very important verse. prosperity can cause us to stop listening
- 23:45Speaker 3: to God. Once you do get that job and that house,
- 23:50Speaker 3: that car that you've been praying for, did you stop
- 23:55Speaker 3: serving God? And what will you do? What will go?
- 24:00Speaker 3: Where will you go if you lost that job, that
- 24:04Speaker 3: house or that car? God is still the same, right?
- 24:09Speaker 3: Sometimes we think we need God more when we're struggling,
- 24:13Speaker 3: but when the bills are paid, when the business is
- 24:20Speaker 3: doing well, when the career is moving, when the family
- 24:26Speaker 3: is comfortable, and when the ministry is growing, we can
- 24:31Speaker 3: become less dependent on God. And that's dangerous, beloved. So
- 24:38Speaker 3: the test is only when you go through the storm,
- 24:44Speaker 3: the test is also when you receive your blessing. Can
- 24:51Speaker 3: you still pray when everything is going well? That is
- 24:55Speaker 3: the question. Can you still see God when you don't
- 24:58Speaker 3: have an emergency? Can you still obey when obedience costs
- 25:05Speaker 3: you something? That's a good question, right? And can you say, Lord,
- 25:14Speaker 3: what do you want when you already have what you wanted? Amen.
- 25:25Speaker 3: And they said, I will not hear. That's how they
- 25:36Speaker 3: responded to God. Now, That is stronger than simply saying
- 25:42Speaker 3: they didn't understand. They refused to listen. And there's a
- 25:48Speaker 3: difference between ignorance and a rebellion. You cannot know something.
- 25:54Speaker 3: But when God shows you the truth and you deliberately
- 25:59Speaker 3: reject it, that's another matter. There's a stricter judgment for
- 26:08Speaker 3: those who know and still refuse to be obedient. Now,
- 26:18Speaker 3: one of the most dangerous statements a person can make isn't,
- 26:22Speaker 3: I don't know, is I know what God says, but
- 26:25Speaker 3: I'm going to do what I want anyway. That's an
- 26:32Speaker 3: attitude Jeremiah is confronting. And that is the spirit that
- 26:39Speaker 3: he was trying to break the whole time. And we
- 26:44Speaker 3: need to be careful not to read this passage only
- 26:48Speaker 3: as a message from somebody else. We should ask, Lord,
- 26:54Speaker 3: where have I stopped listening? And beloved, don't get it wrong.
- 27:00Speaker 3: You see it in church all the time. We see
- 27:02Speaker 3: it in our church where we hear the word. preached
- 27:06Speaker 3: time and time again, even to the point where our pastor,
- 27:10Speaker 3: you can tell he gets frustrated, our leadership, that the
- 27:13Speaker 3: people are not changing, that people are not putting things
- 27:16Speaker 3: into practice. The people are not taking the instruction. There's
- 27:22Speaker 3: a lack of integrity. And I ain't gonna lie. I
- 27:26Speaker 3: struggle with this too. There's things that I know I
- 27:28Speaker 3: need to get right and I need to do. And
- 27:30Speaker 3: I struggle back and forth. My struggle is, And my
- 27:35Speaker 3: temptation is always in the realm of finances. You know,
- 27:38Speaker 3: it's not easy to provide and take care of a
- 27:42Speaker 3: family and try to also take care of a ministry
- 27:48Speaker 3: at the same time. And you have goals, you have dreams,
- 27:50Speaker 3: you have desires. And it's not easy all the time.
- 27:55Speaker 4: And.
- 28:02Speaker 3: But the truth is, we can trust God. And we
- 28:06Speaker 3: can change. Amen. Verse 22, the wind shall eat up
- 28:16Speaker 3: all your rulers and your lovers shall go into captivity.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Surely then you will be ashamed and humiliated for all
- 28:29Speaker 3: your wickedness. Wow. Amen. So the wind shall eat up
- 28:40Speaker 3: all your pastors and thy lovers shall go into captivity.
- 28:46Speaker 3: This is the old King James. Surely then shall thou
- 28:50Speaker 3: be ashamed and confounded by all your wickedness. Now the
- 28:53Speaker 3: word pastors here referred to shepherds or leaders. God says
- 29:00Speaker 3: the leaders in the aliens world. Or the allies, excuse me,
- 29:05Speaker 3: Judah had depended upon will not be able to protect them.
- 29:10Speaker 3: So have you had someone who puffed themselves up as
- 29:15Speaker 3: your leader and they give you false security, false hope?
- 29:19Speaker 3: That is what a lot of pastors do when they
- 29:22Speaker 3: excuse sin in your life. They allow you to sin
- 29:27Speaker 3: and you say, oh, well, God knows your heart. These
- 29:32Speaker 3: leaders cannot protect you on the day of judgment. They're
- 29:38Speaker 3: supposed security will just disappear in and they will experience
- 29:43Speaker 3: shame and confusion because of their wickedness. Now, leadership matters
- 29:49Speaker 3: in our lives. This connects directly to what we've already
- 29:54Speaker 3: seen in chapter 22. Leaders matter. Kings matter. Shepherds matter.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Parents matter. Pastors matter. Mentors matter. Artists matter. Business owners matter.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Anybody with influence has responsibility. That's what we went over
- 30:16Speaker 3: in our last chapter. I think of Spider-Man, right? With
- 30:21Speaker 3: great power comes great responsibility. So when leaders refuse God's correction,
- 30:29Speaker 3: other people can suffer because of that. That's why leadership
- 30:34Speaker 3: should never be treated as simply a privilege. Leadership is stewardship.
- 30:42Speaker 3: God gives influence and God can hold people accountable for
- 30:49Speaker 3: how they use that influence. Amen. Amen. All right, let's
- 30:56Speaker 3: get the last verse. Verse 23. Oh, inhabitant of Lebanon,
- 31:04Speaker 3: make your nest in the cedars. How gracious, how gracious
- 31:12Speaker 3: will you be when hands come upon you like the
- 31:19Speaker 3: pain of a woman in labor? Pain, let me read
- 31:25Speaker 3: that again. O inhabitant of Lebanon, make your nest in
- 31:30Speaker 3: the cedars. How gracious will you be when pains come
- 31:38Speaker 3: upon you like the pains of a woman in labor.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Let's see what it looks like in the King James.
- 31:47Speaker 3: O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makes thy nest in the cedars.
- 31:51Speaker 3: How gracious shalt thou be when pains come upon you,
- 31:58Speaker 3: upon thee, pains as a woman that travails. Sometimes it's
- 32:04Speaker 3: just getting the sentence together. Amen.
- 32:08Speaker 2: All right.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Well, let's break it down. See, God describes Jerusalem as
- 32:14Speaker 3: someone making a nest amongst the cedars. Now, that gives
- 32:21Speaker 3: us the picture of comfort and security. Cedar trees are
- 32:25Speaker 3: always attached to luxury. Just like I said in the
- 32:29Speaker 3: last episode, Lebanon was known as a lush place. King
- 32:35Speaker 3: Solomon built the temple with the wood from Lebanon. And
- 32:40Speaker 3: so they were living high and comfortable. They were, you know,
- 32:45Speaker 3: living in Green Valley or Seven Hills or Summerlin, right?
- 32:49Speaker 3: They were living in the best areas of the communities.
- 32:54Speaker 3: They built themselves a beautiful and a nice environment. But
- 32:58Speaker 3: then God asks, how will you respond when trouble comes?
- 33:04Speaker 3: So now here the picture changes immediately. Comfort becomes pain.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Security becomes fear. Our luxury cannot prevent judgment. Amen. Our luxury.
- 33:26Speaker 3: our celebrity status, our money, and just think people are
- 33:32Speaker 3: selling their souls to achieve these things. I just saw
- 33:36Speaker 3: a video the other day saying that now social media
- 33:41Speaker 3: creators and influencers are compromising, giving their bodies away to
- 33:51Speaker 3: represent brands. Now, that's funny how that happens because normally,
- 34:00Speaker 3: if you have a big following, the brands will come
- 34:04Speaker 3: and seek after you. If you have a big platform,
- 34:08Speaker 3: just like athletes, social media influencers, people like that, normally
- 34:17Speaker 3: the brands are knocking down their doors so that they
- 34:22Speaker 3: can use their platform to promote their brand and their company,
- 34:29Speaker 3: that now something is happening to now these influencers, they're
- 34:34Speaker 3: losing their, I mean, they still have their fame, right?
- 34:40Speaker 3: But now they're not getting paid. Something has happened with
- 34:46Speaker 3: the social media and I don't know exactly how to
- 34:49Speaker 3: explain it. I haven't really done my due diligence to
- 34:52Speaker 3: study it so I'm not an authority that can speak
- 34:55Speaker 3: on it but they are losing money they're not getting
- 35:02Speaker 3: as much as they were before so some of them
- 35:06Speaker 3: are doing all they can they're selling their souls to
- 35:10Speaker 3: keep these brands around and these people are taking advantage
- 35:14Speaker 3: of it they know that they're hurting so they're making
- 35:17Speaker 3: them do disgusting things to represent their brand and this
- 35:26Speaker 3: is sad is this the society that we want to
- 35:29Speaker 3: live in is this the world we want to live
- 35:31Speaker 3: in beloved we need to pray we need to ask
- 35:36Speaker 3: God to clean this up we all need to change
- 35:42Speaker 3: this we need to preach Jesus so that hearts can
- 35:47Speaker 3: be changed and people can be delivered amen All right,
- 35:53Speaker 3: let's take a quick break.
- 35:55Speaker 5: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 35:59Speaker 5: is the His Hop Radio Show.
- 36:01Speaker 3: And what y'all want with me, man?
- 36:02Speaker 4: Say, man, you finna deny God or we gonna shoot
- 36:05Speaker 4: you on foot? Y'all can all shoot me right now.
- 36:07Speaker 4: I'll never switch up on God.
- 36:09Speaker 3: I bet.
- 36:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Be so hard, just know I made it I'ma step.
- 36:28Speaker 4: In the spirit, no weed box I be checkin' the
- 36:30Speaker 4: time with a G-Shock Matter of fact, I just need
- 36:32Speaker 4: me a detox I could run up the bands, but
- 36:34Speaker 4: I need God How you Christian, but still like the gossip?
- 36:36Speaker 3: Matter of fact, they gon' run up the teapot Open
- 36:38Speaker 3: poppers 11 and 13 Before I start lettin' that.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Heat talk Mm, mm, mm, yeah Yeah, get it, 20
- 36:49Speaker 4: up Uh, uh, uh, baby.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Uh, this way, uh Mm, mm, mm, mm, yeah.
- 36:55Speaker 4: Driving this whip so fast my brain is clutch. Matter
- 36:57Speaker 4: of fact, Christ gon' fill my cup. There was a
- 36:59Speaker 4: time when I ain't had trust. Down so bad that
- 37:01Speaker 4: I ain't had luck. Trying to lock in, kept losing
- 37:03Speaker 4: the lust. I went up to God and he still
- 37:06Speaker 4: told me that we running it up.
- 37:07Speaker 3: I'm back in the cup. I don't need a duck.
- 37:09Speaker 3: I'm feeling like Jabba the Hutt. I don't gotta rush.
- 37:11Speaker 3: I'm spreading the word. I might just start speaking in Dutch. F-150,
- 37:14Speaker 3: the car so pretty, I might just hop in the truck.
- 37:17Speaker 3: And Jesus right there. When I was down on my
- 37:19Speaker 3: last night, I ain't had a book. Mm, mm, mm, mm, yeah.
- 37:24Speaker 3: You get it.
- 37:34Speaker 5: You are listening to The Light of Las Vegas. This
- 37:38Speaker 5: is the HizHop Radio Show.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Yo, yo, we are back in. That's one of our
- 38:01Speaker 3: favorites here on the His Hop radio station. Alex Gene.
- 38:06Speaker 3: He said that he will never turn his back on Christ. Amen.
- 38:13Speaker 3: We got to keep this party turned up for Jesus.
- 38:18Speaker 3: I like that little skit in the beginning. Like, you
- 38:21Speaker 3: know what? If you don't reject Christ, we won't take
- 38:24Speaker 3: you out. He's like, you know what? I'll never switch
- 38:27Speaker 3: up on God. Hallelujah. How many of us can say that?
- 38:35Speaker 3: That when that day comes and we see it ever approaching,
- 38:41Speaker 3: we might have to give our lives for what we
- 38:44Speaker 3: believe in. Are we that committed? And I'll tell you
- 38:52Speaker 3: a secret now. We're supposed to be giving our lives
- 38:54Speaker 3: every single day. So if you're not giving your life
- 38:58Speaker 3: to Christ now, what makes you think you lay down
- 39:03Speaker 3: your life when it is going to cost you everything
- 39:05Speaker 3: to follow Christ? Then there's something to think about. Amen.
- 39:15Speaker 3: As we think about that is it's time for the
- 39:19Speaker 3: accountability partner. Call him, text him. We do have a
- 39:25Speaker 3: spot on the app. If you go to the top
- 39:28Speaker 3: left menu in click on this time click on podcast
- 39:32Speaker 3: when it drops down click on yours truly the his
- 39:35Speaker 3: hot radio podcast scroll down you find the accountability partner
- 39:40Speaker 3: link right there you can go over the questions it's
- 39:43Speaker 3: very helpful it's like a self confrontation type of form

- 40:01Speaker 3: or someone from my team would love to pray with
- 40:03Speaker 3: you and help you walk through if you ever be
- 40:06Speaker 3: setting sin in your life if you're trying to change
- 40:10Speaker 3: that's where that helps us and that's where that comes
- 40:14Speaker 3: in now of course we prefer that you do it
- 40:18Speaker 3: with a pastor or someone like that. But if you
- 40:21Speaker 3: don't have a church yet or someone in your life,
- 40:23Speaker 3: then we will help you in, help you with the
- 40:28Speaker 3: steps and hopefully help you find a pastor or a
- 40:32Speaker 3: minister that can truly pour into your life. Amen. And
- 40:39Speaker 3: we also give daily challenges. Now, if you're in the

- 40:56Speaker 3: Let's read the challenge together. As your accountability partner has
- 41:04Speaker 3: success or comfort ever made me less dependent on God. Amen. Now,
- 41:10Speaker 3: this is something that maybe your wife or your spouse
- 41:13Speaker 3: could really give you insight on. Then ask, is there
- 41:18Speaker 3: something God may be trying to correct in me right now?
- 41:21Speaker 3: And give your accountability partner permission to be honest. And
- 41:29Speaker 3: when they answer, don't. Be defensive. Just listen. Pray. And
- 41:43Speaker 3: ask God. what needs to be changed. And if you
- 41:50Speaker 3: don't have an accountability partner, ask the Holy Spirit. Ask
- 41:55Speaker 3: the Holy Spirit to show you your heart and the

- 43:08Speaker 3: So if you're still in a live chat, head on
- 43:10Speaker 3: over to the community so that you can answer the question.
- 43:13Speaker 3: The first one to get it right is a trivia
- 43:16Speaker 3: champ for today. And we do like to give out prizes.
- 43:20Speaker 3: We get stuff all the time. As a 501c3, we
- 43:24Speaker 3: are able to get donations. We are able to get
- 43:27Speaker 3: things from different organizations. So it pays to play. We've
- 43:32Speaker 3: been able to bless our brother Zone 3, who is
- 43:35Speaker 3: our reigning champion. And once again, we want to shout
- 43:40Speaker 3: out our live chat. Shout out Zone 3, Corinth. Everyone
- 43:44Speaker 3: in the live chat, if you're listening right now on
- 43:46Speaker 3: the podcast, log into the live chat so that we
- 43:49Speaker 3: can give you a live shout out on the podcast here.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Our trivia champ is in the house. Thank you for
- 43:58Speaker 3: your faith in his brother. And also, if you're not
- 44:02Speaker 3: able to be here live, you can catch him in
- 44:04Speaker 3: the replay. There's a section here on the app where
- 44:08Speaker 3: you can listen to the podcast if you're not able
- 44:11Speaker 3: to make it at 11. but you can post in
- 44:14Speaker 3: our community 24-7. So come and let us know that
- 44:18Speaker 3: we are not by ourselves. You know what I'm saying?
- 44:24Speaker 3: All right, here is the question. In these verses, name
- 44:30Speaker 3: the three places Jeremiah tells Jerusalem to cry out from
- 44:36Speaker 3: and identify what happened to the people or allies Judah
- 44:42Speaker 3: had depended upon? Let me ask that again. In these passages,
- 44:47Speaker 3: in these verses, name the three places Jeremiah tells Jerusalem
- 44:52Speaker 3: to cry out from and identify what happened to the
- 44:56Speaker 3: people or the allies Judah had depended upon. What happened
- 45:02Speaker 3: to the people? So those are two questions in one.
- 45:09Speaker 3: let's see who's gonna reign supreme on today also our
- 45:17Speaker 3: community shout outs this is where we talk about events
- 45:20Speaker 3: and things that are coming up we got a couple
- 45:24Speaker 3: of other events on our schedule coming up in october
- 45:29Speaker 3: so make sure you check out the calendar i can't
- 45:31Speaker 3: think of the dates off the top of my head
- 45:34Speaker 3: but we have a some things with the police department
- 45:38Speaker 3: we're going to be working with. We also have a
- 45:41Speaker 3: few things with, uh, a church. Uh, we were not able,
- 45:49Speaker 3: there were two other events that we had to skip because, uh,
- 45:54Speaker 3: we were not able to, um, we're going to be
- 45:56Speaker 3: out of town, out of town. So we're not going
- 45:58Speaker 3: to be able to make those to help us to
- 46:01Speaker 3: keep that in prayer. So if you want to be involved,
- 46:06Speaker 3: if you want to volunteer, we would love to take
- 46:08Speaker 3: y'all with us to some of these events. Hit us
- 46:11Speaker 3: up on our website, hishotnation.com or on our social media.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Especially if you're an artist, if you want to come
- 46:19Speaker 3: out to Vegas and minister, we got opportunities for you. Amen.
- 46:30Speaker 3: And we just want to mention that His Hot Radio
- 46:32Speaker 3: is a 501c3, a non-profit organization. We opened a Christian
- 46:37Speaker 3: club in 2012. A 5,000 square foot warehouse. We turned
- 46:42Speaker 3: it into a venue with live music, stage plays, you
- 46:48Speaker 3: name it. Anything we could do to spread the message
- 46:51Speaker 3: of Christ. We believe that the community could use this
- 46:55Speaker 3: once again. We made great impact and we're not going
- 46:59Speaker 3: to allow the enemy to have the last word on it.
- 47:04Speaker 3: But we do need support. I would not push finances
- 47:11Speaker 3: as far as every once in a while we would
- 47:13Speaker 3: ask for a donation, but we were not charged at
- 47:16Speaker 3: the door and things like that. And we still do
- 47:20Speaker 3: free things, but that was not a way where we
- 47:28Speaker 3: could sustain what we were doing. So we became a
- 47:32Speaker 3: nonprofit organization because we wanted those who got his place
- 47:38Speaker 3: on their hearts to give we wanted you to have
- 47:40Speaker 3: a way where you could write it off on your
- 47:43Speaker 3: taxes and it will be a blessing to you as
- 47:46Speaker 3: well so if you would like to be a monthly
- 47:51Speaker 3: supporter annually if you know of grants that we can
- 47:55Speaker 3: apply for if you would like to volunteer your expertise
- 48:01Speaker 3: Just head on over to our website, hishotnation.com or our
- 48:06Speaker 3: nonprofit website, hishotnation.org or you can head on over to
- 48:12Speaker 3: the app, His Hot Radio on all platforms and you
- 48:16Speaker 3: can support us that way. All right, beloved. Well, that
- 48:25Speaker 3: is my time for today, but I do have some
- 48:28Speaker 3: closing remarks Today's episode on the His High Radio podcast
- 48:39Speaker 3: presents verse by verse Jeremiah 22 18 through 23 gives
- 48:45Speaker 3: us a picture of what happens when pride comfort and
- 48:49Speaker 3: success become more important than obedience Jehoiakim wanted glory God
- 48:58Speaker 3: wanted righteousness Jehoiakim wanted security God wanted their trust. They
- 49:06Speaker 3: had prosperity, but they refused to listen. So here's the challenge.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Stay humble when you're blessed. Stay faithful when you are successful.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Stay teachable when you're influential. And more importantly, keep listening
- 49:32Speaker 3: and God speaks. Amen. Amen. got to keep listening when
- 49:43Speaker 3: God speaks. I mean, think about this. Jehoiakim, he had
- 49:49Speaker 3: the power. He had a throne to sit upon. He
- 49:53Speaker 3: had a beautiful house to live in. He had the cedar.
- 49:57Speaker 3: He had status. But none of those things could protect
- 50:03Speaker 3: him from the consequences of rejecting God. That is the warning.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Don't confuse comfort with security. Don't confuse success with God's approval.
- 50:21Speaker 3: God just may bless us with resources, but those resources
- 50:24Speaker 3: don't replace him. God may give us influence, but influence
- 50:31Speaker 3: doesn't make you accountable to nobody. God may allow you
- 50:42Speaker 3: to build something impressive, but what matters is whether you
- 50:52Speaker 3: built it with righteousness or when God speaks, did you listen?
- 51:02Speaker 3: Don't wait until everything falls apart before you decide to
- 51:07Speaker 3: obey the voice of the Lord. And I just can't
- 51:12Speaker 3: get over the fact that God says that he will have.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Here is the king with all this impressive stuff. All
- 51:23Speaker 3: these things that we would desire. And God said that
- 51:29Speaker 3: he will have the burial of a donkey. Like, wow.
- 51:37Speaker 3: I just can't get over that verse. All right, y'all.
- 51:43Speaker 3: God bless. This is Mr. His Hop. And remember, it's
- 51:47Speaker 3: not about us. It's all about the Christ in us.
- 51:57Speaker 5: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 52:01Speaker 5: is the His Hop radio show.
