- 0:37Speaker 6: It's after thirty some odd years, it's kind of hard
- 0:40Speaker 6: to answer the phone any other.
- 0:45Speaker 5: I'm sure it's a. It's it's a It's been a
- 0:48Speaker 5: bit busy week, interesting week with lots of changes for
- 0:52Speaker 5: us at the dealership. We did close on the cellar
- 0:55Speaker 5: Ford on Tuesday, and Robert's part of the Ford team.
- 0:58Speaker 5: So after a minute many years with Dungeess, he's now
- 1:01Speaker 5: a part of the build night Ford Parks department.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Yep, still in the parks department.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Anyway, you're here today, and I know you've got to get.
- 1:08Speaker 5: Back to work because there's another guy out today. But
- 1:12Speaker 5: in parts I appreciate you coming because you are involved
- 1:15Speaker 5: with the Elks Club and there's a big event going
- 1:18Speaker 5: on Saturday night that I want to make sure everybody
- 1:21Speaker 5: knows about and comes out in.
- 1:23Speaker 6: Supports, right, And that's that's exactly right. Cody Hazelwood was
- 1:28Speaker 6: a volunteer fire department firefighter for the for the Uligo
- 1:33Speaker 6: or ogles excuse me. Unfortunately, he was involved in an
- 1:38Speaker 6: accident going on his way to a call and it's
- 1:41Speaker 6: a life altering injury. So they we've reached out to them,
- 1:46Speaker 6: they've reached out to us, and we decided we were
- 1:48Speaker 6: going to do a big benefit dinner and dance Saturday
- 1:51Speaker 6: this Saturday night.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Ten dollars donation and we'll get you chili. It's a
- 1:55Speaker 3: big chili.
- 1:56Speaker 6: But I've also heard that they've added pulled pork sandwiches
- 1:59Speaker 6: to the to the menu, so and some fixings. So
- 2:04Speaker 6: they may be doing a shuffleboard tournament and a pool tournament.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Also, there's always fun stuff.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Going on, yeah, with with those proceeds going to the
- 2:11Speaker 6: benefit also awesome. The other thing we're doing in November
- 2:15Speaker 6: is we're doing the second annual craft show too, Okay,
- 2:18Speaker 6: so that's always a good thing.
- 2:20Speaker 3: We'll have Santa there for the.
- 2:22Speaker 6: Kids and oh goodness, when is that going to be
- 2:24Speaker 6: That is going to be November, and I had the
- 2:27Speaker 6: flyer in the and I didn't bring it up here
- 2:29Speaker 6: all right in November.
- 2:30Speaker 4: But yeah, so there'll be more information on that. We
- 2:33Speaker 4: can come back on.
- 2:34Speaker 3: More information to come.
- 2:35Speaker 4: They let me, let me give me to that. So this.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Can the people get tickets beforehand or do they just
- 2:42Speaker 5: need to show up and make a donation.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Show up at the door.
- 2:46Speaker 6: The dinner is going to be at six pm until
- 2:49Speaker 6: all gone. The dance is featuring the Paul Holt Band
- 2:51Speaker 6: from eight pm to twelve am.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Paul Holt is connected with the Broken Arrow Lodge.
- 2:58Speaker 6: Okay, so they are they're coming up and they are
- 3:01Speaker 6: an excellent they are an excellent dance band.
- 3:04Speaker 3: They can cover all genres. So yeah, they can do that.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Silent auction, fifty silent auction.
- 3:11Speaker 6: We've got lots of We've got lots of things going
- 3:14Speaker 6: on on that. To talk to a couple of the
- 3:19Speaker 6: one state representative and he was going to try to
- 3:21Speaker 6: get together a beef package for that. So I've got
- 3:24Speaker 6: to reach out to him and say did you do that?
- 3:28Speaker 6: But yeah, I've talked to Mayor Copeland, I've talked to
- 3:31Speaker 6: Senator Daniels and both of them said that they're going
- 3:33Speaker 6: to help in ways. They can't be there unfortunately, but
- 3:37Speaker 6: they're going to help try to help in ways, you know,
- 3:39Speaker 6: other ways. There's already been a van donated, there's already
- 3:44Speaker 6: been a wheelchair lift donated.
- 3:46Speaker 3: And the last count I.
- 3:48Speaker 6: Heard was a round just with the GoFundMe and different
- 3:52Speaker 6: things around town. There's been about fourteen thousand already collected.
- 3:57Speaker 6: So this is going to be on top of that.
- 4:00Speaker 6: It's going to be a great night. We need to
- 4:02Speaker 6: get out here and show the local support for this
- 4:05Speaker 6: young man. He's twenty one years old, twenty or twenty
- 4:08Speaker 6: one years old, major life altering event. So we're we're
- 4:14Speaker 6: trying to do everything we can to help him and
- 4:16Speaker 6: his family.
- 4:16Speaker 5: At its Saturday Night again October nineteenth, from six six pm.
- 4:21Speaker 5: The dinner starts a chili dinner and maybe pulled pork sandwiches,
- 4:26Speaker 5: and it's all out of Bartsville Elks Lodge on Swan
- 4:29Speaker 5: Drive behind the walmart.
- 4:30Speaker 6: And behind the walmart. Everybody knows it's the building behind
- 4:34Speaker 6: the Walmart.
- 4:35Speaker 5: So and I appreciate everything the Elks Club does. You've
- 4:38Speaker 5: come on Man on the show many times and I'd
- 4:41Speaker 5: like to sit here and talk to you about it. Yeah,
- 4:44Speaker 5: memories and things, but you've got to run back. There's
- 4:46Speaker 5: parts to sell, so sell parts. So I appreciate you.
- 4:49Speaker 6: Let's start round and plug it and like I said,
- 4:53Speaker 6: I'll get you some information on them on the Craft
- 4:56Speaker 6: Show too.
- 4:56Speaker 4: All Right.
- 4:57Speaker 3: The main thing is the is the benefit for Saturday
- 5:00Speaker 3: to night.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Yeah, So thank you, Robert, thank you, Tom be good Man. Awesome. Well,
- 5:08Speaker 4: that is an important event.
- 5:09Speaker 5: It's such a tragic accident and we really all depend
- 5:13Speaker 5: on our volunteer firefighters around here in Oklahoma.
- 5:16Speaker 4: And this year, you know, especially with the really dry
- 5:19Speaker 4: weather we have.
- 5:20Speaker 5: It's going to be a really interesting winner as we
- 5:22Speaker 5: get into into that and we don't finally get some rain.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It's it's very dry, isn't it. Tom.
- 5:28Speaker 1: We've been talking to people and he said, yeah, it's
- 5:30Speaker 1: pretty dry.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it really is. And it's been a long
- 5:33Speaker 5: time since we had good rain. But yeah, we did,
- 5:37Speaker 5: as we talked about a little bit earlier, we did
- 5:39Speaker 5: close on the sale.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Of the Ford Dealership this week.
- 5:41Speaker 5: I'm I'm really confident it's going to be a decision
- 5:44Speaker 5: that we'll look on is really best for everybody. Involved,
- 5:47Speaker 5: and and I know Bill well and have and working
- 5:50Speaker 5: with his team through this transition has been a really
- 5:54Speaker 5: uh you know, it's gone as well as it could.
- 5:58Speaker 4: You know, go and and to all our.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Local team, our best that has helped us so long.
- 6:03Speaker 5: You know, they're they've been involved in this and helping
- 6:06Speaker 5: me do this. There's lots of great work going on
- 6:10Speaker 5: behind the scenes with our team, you know, just getting
- 6:12Speaker 5: from everything getting out of and moved out of the
- 6:15Speaker 5: Ford dealership. But you know, now that we're through all that,
- 6:18Speaker 5: it's it's time to focus and and that's really exciting
- 6:21Speaker 5: because you know, one of the things that's that's it
- 6:24Speaker 5: was a challenge was it was a kind of a
- 6:27Speaker 5: spread out UH campus and and our management team focused
- 6:31Speaker 5: on both stores. And you know, now we can really
- 6:33Speaker 5: focus on in and and be the best at be
- 6:37Speaker 5: the best at one thing. And I think it'll be great.
- 6:39Speaker 5: It makes my life a little bit simpler. You know,
- 6:42Speaker 5: I'm not the youngest fellow anymore. And and and I
- 6:46Speaker 5: definitely want to keep doing what we do and know
- 6:48Speaker 5: and with the UH the fourth generation working there now,
- 6:52Speaker 5: it's just time to to keep it, keep working. And
- 6:55Speaker 5: we have such a great team of people and and
- 6:58Speaker 5: you know it's just we're going to keep going and
- 7:00Speaker 5: as it says, make new history out on our new
- 7:03Speaker 5: billboard out there. And you know, I want to tell
- 7:05Speaker 5: people that's not really about us. And you know, of
- 7:07Speaker 5: course we will take you can make some history too,
- 7:09Speaker 5: But but it's about what you do in your Toyota, right. Yes,
- 7:13Speaker 5: it's that's why people use Toyota's They're all about mobility
- 7:16Speaker 5: for people and and making it our lives easier through transportation,
- 7:21Speaker 5: and and they do it really well and build great
- 7:23Speaker 5: vehicles and really really excited to continue to partner with them.
- 7:28Speaker 5: There's a you know, we'reing a button here today with
- 7:31Speaker 5: Waku Dokie, and that's a term mister Toyota, the former
- 7:37Speaker 5: uh he's the chairman now and he was the president
- 7:40Speaker 5: of the company until recently. He loves to love to
- 7:44Speaker 5: talk use that and to describe Toyota sports cars and
- 7:47Speaker 5: in the thrill of driving and advanced automobile on a
- 7:52Speaker 5: racetrack is really what he likes.
- 7:53Speaker 1: He likes to do that personally.
- 7:56Speaker 5: But it's that it's that adrenaline when you're of anticipation,
- 8:01Speaker 5: when you're doing something exciting, or when you put your
- 8:04Speaker 5: your foot into a high horsepower vehicle and you feel
- 8:07Speaker 5: that push.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Back on the on the on the in the earth,
- 8:13Speaker 4: but it's in the sound.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Yeah, right, So that's uh, that's what wakujoki is. But
- 8:18Speaker 5: that's you know, we're we're also having that sense of
- 8:21Speaker 5: excitement for something really new and the beginning here at
- 8:24Speaker 5: Toyota and Dungeons Toyota, which while it's the beginning, it's
- 8:28Speaker 5: also you know, we are all the oldest Toyota dealer
- 8:31Speaker 5: in the state of Oklahoma.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Oh well, let's not forget that.
- 8:34Speaker 5: To be a have a lead certified building. We have
- 8:37Speaker 5: a broad spectrum of great vehicles. We've got a great
- 8:40Speaker 5: selection right now. It's our inventory has been building and
- 8:43Speaker 5: sales have been uh what looks really.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Good right now?
- 8:47Speaker 1: And are you able to keep the trucks on the lock?
- 8:49Speaker 5: Well, keep they still turn really quickly and we need
- 8:52Speaker 5: to keep doing that. That's really important so that we
- 8:55Speaker 5: can keep earning the vehicles. And you know, because it
- 8:58Speaker 5: is a race to sell the Toyota as it really is.
- 9:01Speaker 5: There's never enough of them, it seems, or at least
- 9:03Speaker 5: in the last few years, we've had had some supply issues.
- 9:07Speaker 5: But the truth is that's because they're a great vehicle,
- 9:10Speaker 5: and we have thirty two right now that are available,
- 9:13Speaker 5: twenty on the ground and twelve and build phase virtually
- 9:16Speaker 5: every model you could want, from Sequaia to Corolla and
- 9:21Speaker 5: everything in between. And there are great Tundras and Tacomas.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Those are really great important to our business. We sell
- 9:27Speaker 5: lots of those. V Highlander has been scarce this year
- 9:31Speaker 5: because it's some supply chain issues, but they're starting they're
- 9:34Speaker 5: going to start building back again. And Grand Highlander two.
- 9:38Speaker 5: I've got all the cars. Course camera is one of
- 9:42Speaker 5: the hallmarks, and we do have those on the ground too,
- 9:46Speaker 5: and getting a Prius Prime here pretty soon and we
- 9:50Speaker 5: have two Priuses, four rav fours Groundsignia, so you know,
- 9:57Speaker 5: we have a great selection right now and everybody can
- 10:00Speaker 5: check that out at Douneus Toyota dot com. And you know,
- 10:04Speaker 5: as we get into the rest of the year, we're
- 10:06Speaker 5: going to be celebrating our anniversary in December now because
- 10:10Speaker 5: we used to celebrate in April because of the Ford anniversary,
- 10:14Speaker 5: but but Toyota is actually in December, which will be
- 10:18Speaker 5: good because Toyota than will be going on then and
- 10:22Speaker 5: so we can kind of combine our anniversary with with
- 10:25Speaker 5: that we were actually got my grandfather got the Toyota
- 10:28Speaker 5: franchise in December nineteen sixty eight.
- 10:31Speaker 4: So wow, So it was really early in the game.
- 10:34Speaker 5: It was I think there was a a Toyota dealership
- 10:37Speaker 5: in the in town before then out on the west
- 10:40Speaker 5: side over by Murphy's we used to have it. Later
- 10:44Speaker 5: became a used car lot that my grandfather had over there,
- 10:46Speaker 5: and and but it was a there was a Toyota.
- 10:50Speaker 5: He Toyota there. Hey, Toyota, Now there's a at the
- 10:55Speaker 5: beginning they were. It wasn't nearly you know, as big
- 10:59Speaker 5: a brand for us is as uh as Ford been
- 11:03Speaker 5: through the years. It did become really at times even
- 11:06Speaker 5: bigger than Ford in our market.
- 11:09Speaker 4: And you know, we did. My grandfather had many brands
- 11:12Speaker 4: through the years and for a while a Zuzu at GP.
- 11:16Speaker 4: He had, you know, lots of different brands. Yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Really, I was one of the first dealers, you know,
- 11:23Speaker 5: in our area to do that multi brands and right
- 11:27Speaker 5: here in Barblsville.
- 11:28Speaker 4: And yeah, we did. It was fascinating as some of them.
- 11:31Speaker 5: We were unpacking everything and out of the depths of
- 11:36Speaker 5: the dealership and you know, there's a I've got a
- 11:38Speaker 5: ledger on my table at my office now that's about
- 11:43Speaker 5: I don't know. It's a couple of feet twenty four
- 11:45Speaker 5: inches wide and big, you know, no typical accounting ledger,
- 11:49Speaker 5: but about this high, this high, about six inches eight
- 11:53Speaker 5: inches high. It's got about ten years of car sales
- 11:58Speaker 5: records written in handwritten in cursive.
- 12:02Speaker 4: It's about it's essentially all the cars that they sold
- 12:05Speaker 4: in the seventies, and.
- 12:08Speaker 5: It goes through by model they you know, what what
- 12:13Speaker 5: we sold, and all the way through vehicle, the deal,
- 12:18Speaker 5: the person bought it. It's handwritten, it's it's you know,
- 12:22Speaker 5: stuff like that, really really amazing stuff that you don't
- 12:26Speaker 5: think about. You know, there were deeds and stuff from
- 12:30Speaker 5: the early nineteen hundreds and things like that.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Just you know.
- 12:36Speaker 5: There's a roll, a scrolled photo from of Three Sands
- 12:42Speaker 5: oil field over by west of Ponca City, back when
- 12:48Speaker 5: the oil boom was going on in Oklahoma. And and
- 12:51Speaker 5: it's about forty inches long, six inches high, and you
- 12:56Speaker 5: unroll it in and there's all you can see all
- 12:58Speaker 5: the oil field Derek's and it's really a fascinating thing.
- 13:03Speaker 5: You wouldn't think that long ago they had a way
- 13:06Speaker 5: to take that kind of panoramic picture that we do
- 13:09Speaker 5: with our phones now. But it's all it's just rolled
- 13:13Speaker 5: up in this uh in there that was a high
- 13:16Speaker 5: dollar product.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I don't know what it is.
- 13:20Speaker 7: Wow.
- 13:22Speaker 5: So anyway, just to all kinds of stuff, lots of
- 13:24Speaker 5: great memorabilia from my grandfather's career really and certainly just
- 13:31Speaker 5: some from my father and Bob to you know, through
- 13:35Speaker 5: the years. It's been over almost ninety five from the
- 13:39Speaker 5: very beginning, and so we continue that legacy out there
- 13:43Speaker 5: and really has been an interesting time and glad to
- 13:48Speaker 5: be through it.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Though a little bit.
- 13:50Speaker 1: You look like you slept a little.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, No, it's been.
- 13:53Speaker 7: It was.
- 13:54Speaker 4: There's a lot of a lot to do in the
- 13:56Speaker 4: last few days.
- 13:58Speaker 5: I know we stu there were periods when the phone
- 14:02Speaker 5: wasn't working when we were in either store, and then yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 5: when we're just trying to we've been untangling as much
- 14:11Speaker 5: as possible everything. But because we were combined as a
- 14:15Speaker 5: company for so long, there's really uh no way to
- 14:19Speaker 5: anticipate everything that was one of them.
- 14:23Speaker 4: That's uh.
- 14:25Speaker 5: Pulling apart definitely was a challenge and we but we're
- 14:29Speaker 5: getting there. I mean Bill and his team or have
- 14:31Speaker 5: made already off and running and you know you got
- 14:34Speaker 5: their new mobile service vehicle and lots of great stuff.
- 14:38Speaker 5: We've got, you know, lots of great plans at Toyota
- 14:40Speaker 5: and a great inventory I mentioned including a few former
- 14:45Speaker 5: for what were some of our forward f C TP vehicles.
- 14:48Speaker 5: So these are like new Fords right next to the
- 14:52Speaker 5: Ford dealer I know anyway, they're they're like new for
- 14:56Speaker 5: people know these vehicles because we've been selling them for years.
- 15:00Speaker 5: They're just loaners for when people have their car and service.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Some of them have eight hundred miles on them. I
- 15:06Speaker 5: think one of them has a couple thousand, but most
- 15:09Speaker 5: of them are just a couple a few hundred miles.
- 15:12Speaker 5: And they've got three edges and Explore and an F
- 15:15Speaker 5: one fifty. And these are like new vehicles that you
- 15:18Speaker 5: can say thousands on. These are way discounted and like
- 15:22Speaker 5: I said, twenty four model year brand new vehicles virtually
- 15:26Speaker 5: with but there's a big savings there on our used
- 15:31Speaker 5: car lot.
- 15:32Speaker 4: There we've got the great.
- 15:34Speaker 5: New to add a new vehicle inventory and lots of
- 15:37Speaker 5: great deals on our used cars right now. They're really
- 15:41Speaker 5: important to keep everything priced right right now. We're seeing
- 15:45Speaker 5: the market be really it's fluctuating a lot in used cars.
- 15:49Speaker 5: There's a lot of there's a lot of demand and
- 15:51Speaker 5: not enough supply, so sometimes it's hard to get cars.
- 15:54Speaker 5: Other times they're you know, in the flood the storms
- 15:58Speaker 5: and things in the southeast and the hurricanes and other
- 16:02Speaker 5: floods and things are certainly going to impact vehicle supply too.
- 16:05Speaker 4: So it's just there's a.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Lot of uncertainty in that, and you know, so we're
- 16:10Speaker 5: navigating that well. And so keeping your vehicle price right
- 16:13Speaker 5: is really important right now. It helps helps move it
- 16:16Speaker 5: and we do that every day. That's one of our
- 16:19Speaker 5: great tenets of how we work is keeping what we
- 16:23Speaker 5: call simple price, where everything is is priced to sell,
- 16:26Speaker 5: you know how it need to come in and do
- 16:27Speaker 5: a lot of negotiation. We put everything up front right
- 16:31Speaker 5: there on the website, give you the ability to go
- 16:34Speaker 5: in and and really work your own deal, and then
- 16:36Speaker 5: we'll pick up right where you left off when you
- 16:39Speaker 5: come in and and and we'll work you work with
- 16:42Speaker 5: you to get the very best deal possible and make
- 16:45Speaker 5: it simple.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Our team is all noncommissioned and and salage.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Salespeople know and we we really believe in that our team,
- 16:55Speaker 5: you know, they don't have to worry about, you know,
- 16:58Speaker 5: how much they make selling you the car, and that's
- 17:01Speaker 5: an impact on their paycheck, and it just makes it easier.
- 17:07Speaker 5: It's that our team make good money. They're still going
- 17:09Speaker 5: to make good money, of course they are.
- 17:11Speaker 3: They're going to.
- 17:11Speaker 5: If they're highly productive and sell lots of cars, they
- 17:14Speaker 5: make more money. But they definitely know what they're going
- 17:17Speaker 5: to make and they don't need to worry about that.
- 17:20Speaker 5: They can't really control it anyway. Like I said, the
- 17:22Speaker 5: prices are set really before they get there, and and
- 17:26Speaker 5: we make sure we're every vehicle is priced fairly from
- 17:29Speaker 5: the beginning. I'm really proud of that, and and our
- 17:32Speaker 5: team is also really great at understanding the vehicles and
- 17:36Speaker 5: helping you set your vehicle up. A lot of people
- 17:38Speaker 5: today are a little bit hesitant of some of the
- 17:41Speaker 5: technology and cars. I hear that from people that you know,
- 17:45Speaker 5: they don't like the safety stuff and they want to
- 17:48Speaker 5: keep their old car. But you know, the more you
- 17:52Speaker 5: experience it, you really do get comfortable with it, and
- 17:55Speaker 5: we realize how how valuable it is.
- 17:57Speaker 4: It really can help you save money and time and
- 18:02Speaker 4: and create better you know, value out of your vehicle.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Over time, you're going to have better resale value if
- 18:08Speaker 5: it has fewer blemishes. And so we had my divor
- 18:11Speaker 5: from the body shop in last week. And these vehicles
- 18:15Speaker 5: get more and more expensive to repair all the electronics
- 18:18Speaker 5: in them and more advanced features. Uh so it uh
- 18:22Speaker 5: you know, there's really no trade no trade off there.
- 18:26Speaker 5: You want to be safe and make sure you're you're
- 18:29Speaker 5: taken care of, and you know, so, I think it's
- 18:31Speaker 5: really there. It is good technology and we need to
- 18:34Speaker 5: just need to to find ways to make it better
- 18:37Speaker 5: so people understand how it's going to work. And that's
- 18:41Speaker 5: a team something our team can do when you're taking
- 18:44Speaker 5: delivery of the vehicle, really spend time so you understand
- 18:46Speaker 5: what those features are and how they work so you
- 18:49Speaker 5: can control them because a lot of them can be turned.
- 18:51Speaker 4: On and off. And you know, it really is about
- 18:55Speaker 4: knowing how your.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Vehicle works, and you know what the safety features. Folks
- 18:59Speaker 2: don't be afraid to because they will help you in those.
- 19:06Speaker 4: The vehicles around you, and you know, it's it definitely
- 19:09Speaker 4: is is amazing.
- 19:11Speaker 5: As vehicles get more advanced, and you know that's our
- 19:14Speaker 5: technicians have to stay up with that too.
- 19:17Speaker 4: They're they're constantly learning and and.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Uh, you know that's really a part of being a
- 19:22Speaker 5: Toyota technician. They're they're great guys. They train all the time.
- 19:27Speaker 5: They're they're very uh uh you know, really have to
- 19:30Speaker 5: understand electronics and computer systems and how they operate. Uh.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Virtually every system we have in a vehicle now is
- 19:36Speaker 5: controlled by by chips and and you know and are
- 19:40Speaker 5: and are controlled by the computers of the in the vehicle,
- 19:45Speaker 5: and so it's a really important understand how that works
- 19:48Speaker 5: and how it performs with your mechanical engines and stuff.
- 19:53Speaker 5: So yeah, so anyway, we've been had Robert Bright on
- 19:59Speaker 5: early from.
- 20:00Speaker 4: The Elks Lodge. I want to remind everybody that they're.
- 20:04Speaker 5: Having a special benefit dinner and dance on Saturday night
- 20:08Speaker 5: for Cody Hazelwood, who was a twenty year old volunteer
- 20:11Speaker 5: firefighter for Oglesby File Department Fire Department. He was on
- 20:16Speaker 5: an assist call and he was involved in an accident
- 20:19Speaker 5: that was a life changing accident.
- 20:22Speaker 4: He's injured.
- 20:24Speaker 5: What he needs help and as they've been raising money
- 20:29Speaker 5: in the community has and the Elks Club is joining
- 20:31Speaker 5: that effort with his dinner and dance and so for
- 20:34Speaker 5: a ten dollars donation you can go and get a
- 20:37Speaker 5: chili dinner and other food from six pm until it's gone.
- 20:41Speaker 5: And then you have the Paul Holt band coming from
- 20:44Speaker 5: eight to pm to midnight and they're a great band.
- 20:48Speaker 5: I hear from a broken Arrow. And then they'll have
- 20:51Speaker 5: a silent auption, fifty to fifty drawing and a bake
- 20:54Speaker 5: sale and lots of great stuff to purchase.
- 20:57Speaker 4: And you can go out and support the Everage to
- 21:00Speaker 4: help Cody recover and have a great life going forward.
- 21:05Speaker 5: So I want everybody down there and that that is
- 21:07Speaker 5: at the Elks Lodge behind Walmart on Swan Drive, and
- 21:12Speaker 5: that's from six to midnight on Saturday evening.
- 21:15Speaker 2: So check that out now with your your toyotas. You
- 21:20Speaker 2: got a little something for everybody. Now, we talked a
- 21:22Speaker 2: little bit about the trucks, but you got some really
- 21:26Speaker 2: smooth rides like that crowd and the Crown and then
- 21:30Speaker 2: even the Corolla cross. Yeah, I was We have a
- 21:33Speaker 2: couple of used Corolla crosses now and I was driving
- 21:36Speaker 2: one of those and they're fun.
- 21:37Speaker 4: They're fun. I like, think you I like that vehicle.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I always liked Corolla that was. You know, it's a
- 21:43Speaker 4: great car.
- 21:44Speaker 5: It's really efficient and uh, you know, even though it's
- 21:47Speaker 5: a small vehicle and I'm over six feet tall and
- 21:50Speaker 5: you know, I fitted in. It's a comfortable vehicle to
- 21:54Speaker 5: ride in and so efficient. It's has always had a
- 21:57Speaker 5: great fuel economy. And one of the reasons why I
- 22:01Speaker 5: got one for our when my young oldest was driving
- 22:06Speaker 5: learned getting his driver's license, was because of all the
- 22:08Speaker 5: safety features that were standard on.
- 22:11Speaker 4: The Toyota Corolla.
- 22:12Speaker 5: And this was in twenty sixteen, you know, long before
- 22:16Speaker 5: it was standard on most vehicles. It was more of
- 22:19Speaker 5: an option on luxury cars at that point, and Toyota
- 22:23Speaker 5: made that commitment to put safety sense and all their
- 22:26Speaker 5: products from the base models up because of their belief
- 22:31Speaker 5: in that. I you know, they really are a great
- 22:33Speaker 5: mobility company and design great vehicles. I saw a report
- 22:37Speaker 5: this morning where they're going to get with Boston Dynamics
- 22:41Speaker 5: and work on more advanced robotics and robots that can
- 22:45Speaker 5: do more I guess human like activities.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Well, they picked the right company that's like the best
- 22:53Speaker 1: in the world and what they do.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it'd be.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Very interesting once they come up with They're always partnershiping Toyota,
- 22:59Speaker 5: Reese Church is always partnering with other companies that are
- 23:03Speaker 5: interested in this, and it all leads to better vehicles.
- 23:06Speaker 5: And you know, and obviously, like we mentioned the computers
- 23:10Speaker 5: in the cars, and now how our phone, our phones
- 23:13Speaker 5: and the cars combine and and as over time these
- 23:16Speaker 5: things all kind of work together, and with advancements and
- 23:19Speaker 5: AI and all that, there's just going to be a
- 23:22Speaker 5: lot of changes. And you know, I think being able
- 23:25Speaker 5: to apply those they'll probably be looking to apply those
- 23:29Speaker 5: robotics things they learned in the manufacturing of vehicles to
- 23:32Speaker 5: be more efficient and reduce cost in the vehicles, so
- 23:36Speaker 5: you can, you know, have just better products for your customers.
- 23:41Speaker 4: And you know, it's amazing.
- 23:43Speaker 2: You know, you talk about getting new ideas from different
- 23:45Speaker 2: people and working with different entities. One of the biggest
- 23:48Speaker 2: things that change the car industry at one time. I
- 23:53Speaker 2: am not kidding yet. I'm not kidding you. No, Well,
- 23:57Speaker 2: that's it, you know, I mean, it's something as simple
- 23:59Speaker 2: as that. Nobody thought except oh, that's a great.
- 24:01Speaker 5: Great example, because I mean they started out as these
- 24:04Speaker 5: as pretty much utilitarian thing and an amazing revolutionary thing
- 24:09Speaker 5: allowed us to have freedom of mobility in a way
- 24:12Speaker 5: that humans have never seen.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Yeah, but now we do a bit more with them.
- 24:16Speaker 4: They're you know, you think of the lifestyle vehicles.
- 24:19Speaker 5: I was, I was coming to work today and I
- 24:22Speaker 5: was following a tundra with a canoe on top and
- 24:25Speaker 5: it had one of those fancy racks on it that
- 24:28Speaker 5: has the tent that comes out the side, and yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 5: I mean and well, at the Toyota show last month,
- 24:34Speaker 5: I saw some vehicles done up with the most amazing
- 24:39Speaker 5: stuff where you could, you know, whatever you wanted to
- 24:42Speaker 5: do out there, wherever you go, you can go do
- 24:45Speaker 5: it and take it with you with the Toyota so
- 24:48Speaker 5: that the cup holder may have started it.
- 24:52Speaker 1: The rest is what can't we do now?
- 24:57Speaker 5: Well, I appreciate everybody listening it always, and this week,
- 25:02Speaker 5: especially as we've made the transition. Come see us out

- 25:19Speaker 5: get to know people. We're definitely excited to have them
