- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop, and
- 0:23let's start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody good. Morning.
- 0:29We're actually in the flower garden this morning because
- 0:32we've got some giant aliens coming up which are just
- 0:36basically in the onion family. And what's really interesting is
- 0:42I was under the impression that nothing would want to eat them
- 0:45because they're onions. And research shows that
- 0:50something, most things don't want to eat them.
- 0:52But clearly I have something that likes onions, which is
- 0:56fascinating to me and another thing that I'm learning from the
- 1:00garden. I also had something that
- 1:02tromped through here last night, broke off a huge piece of my
- 1:08rose Bush. And that's also incredibly
- 1:11frustrating because I'm like, Oh my gosh, I'm just getting this
- 1:14thing to come up and now all of a sudden it's broken off.
- 1:19So every night when you go to bed, you check things and every
- 1:23morning you wake up, you check things because things happen
- 1:26overnight. And it's incredible how many
- 1:30things come out at night that you just don't even know you
- 1:32live with. This is just another example of
- 1:36how I believe our mindset is the same way.
- 1:39We don't know the things we live with until they show up.
- 1:41And then when they show up, we're like, oh, great here.
- 1:44This is it's, it's just, it's exciting and madding at the same
- 1:50time because now I have to go out there and I have to look and
- 1:54say every morning, OK, what got destroyed?
- 1:56What work did I do that's not going to work?
- 1:59All of those little things. And I have to live with it
- 2:01because there's no other way to deal with it.
- 2:04I mean, I live in the country. I want a farm.
- 2:06This is what I have to deal with.
- 2:08The mindset behind that has to be that I'm excited about it, or
- 2:12I'm curious about it, or I'm going to work with it.
- 2:14Because if not, then I'm doing myself a wild disservice by just
- 2:19letting myself think that everything is going to be
- 2:21perfect all the time. And for my certainty, girl,
- 2:24that's a really big deal. I have to admit.
- 2:27It's a really big deal because I have to learn to live with the
- 2:30uncertainty of what's going on. And it's a lot, my friends, it's
- 2:34a lot. Every night you think
- 2:36everything's good. Every morning you come out and
- 2:39something else is weird off. Like, you know, I have a duck
- 2:44who's here, a wild duck who's sitting on eggs, and she's
- 2:48really just on a hill going down to the pond.
- 2:52Is she smart for where she chose it for the ducklings?
- 2:54Sure is. It's like right there.
- 2:57It's like, right. Like she could take maybe 4
- 3:00steps and she could drop right into the water for the baby
- 3:03ducks. But she's completely exposed.
- 3:06And I wouldn't even have seen her if Mark hadn't spotted her
- 3:09and pointed her out to me because she's so blending in.
- 3:12And I think, wow, how could she just be so exposed like that?
- 3:16But then I think, wow, how smart is she to choose it right next
- 3:19to the water for the babies if something comes?
- 3:22Because basically we don't have any alligators in our ponds.
- 3:25We don't have things like that that are going to go after the
- 3:28babies once they're born. Prior to being born, though.
- 3:31That's a very dangerous spot. The dog walks through there a
- 3:37lot. Lucy is always in there and my
- 3:40little dog is always in there because I think she anticipates
- 3:44finding a rodent of some sort, which she loves to do.
- 3:47And not to mention there are raccoons everywhere.
- 3:52So we are always like trying to make sure everything is safe.
- 3:56But again, I have to let go of that.
- 3:58And I have to say, OK, this is just, this is what I'm learning.
- 4:02This is what I'm doing. This is how I'm, I'm, I'm, you
- 4:06know, progressing in my own journey by letting go and seeing
- 4:10what happens in letting nature do its thing.
- 4:13So right now that's what I'm attempting to do.
- 4:15I'm attempting to let nature do its thing and curious as to what
- 4:20the hell is eating onions because that's usually like a
- 4:23human thing and not an animal thing.
- 4:26And it just befuddles me as to what would eat the tops of them.
- 4:31Now I'm hoping, I'm hoping that they're all going to come up.
- 4:34Because if you look up giant alien, it's ALLIUM, you will see
- 4:40the most beautiful ball of a flower that is just stunning.
- 4:43And I'm really working towards making my my focus like the
- 4:48Doctor Seuss type flowers and looking at all the beautiful
- 4:51stuff that could come in that way.
- 4:53And just, you know, intoxicating, different looking
- 4:57things and they are spectacular. So I'm hoping, I'm really hoping
- 5:04that it it did not destroy the the buds that would be coming
- 5:08up. Some of the green tips are eaten
- 5:11off. So I'm hoping that it got a
- 5:12taste of it and was like, yuck, let's move on.
- 5:15But again, this is the thing, my friends, what comes out at night
- 5:19is different than what comes out during the day.
- 5:21And we have to remember that even with our own mindsets, we
- 5:24have to say, OK, what's coming out that's really bothering me
- 5:28and how do I need to handle that?
- 5:29Because boy, oh boy, that is a big, big thing.
- 5:33And I promise when you look at it, you will be, you know, able
- 5:37to fix more of it when you know what's there.
- 5:40All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day.
- 5:42I'm going to go fix my rose Bush now, and I will see you soon.
- 5:45Bye.
