- 1:13Speaker 5: he wants to be, but is way grateful that is
- 1:17Speaker 5: not who he.
- 1:18Speaker 6: Used to be.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Here all right, welcome back. It's That Kevin Show, that
- 1:26Speaker 1: Kevinshow dot com. If you want anything related to the show,
- 1:30Speaker 1: including a chance to help a Christian, I want you
- 1:34Speaker 1: to listen to me friend, they don't. Casually, they don't
- 1:38Speaker 1: kind of like I asked my kids, you want something, yeah,
- 1:41Speaker 1: I could go for it. Like that's that's not what
- 1:44Speaker 1: we're talking about here. There are Christians on the planet
- 1:47Speaker 1: who are hungry and desperate and longing and yearning for
- 1:52Speaker 1: a copy of God's Word in their hands, in their language,
- 1:57Speaker 1: so that they can read it in their home, that
- 2:00Speaker 1: they can apply it to their lives, and they do
- 2:03Speaker 1: not have them, and they don't have access to them.
- 2:06Speaker 1: These are the places around the world. In fact, there
- 2:08Speaker 1: was this huge study that was commissioned just a year
- 2:11Speaker 1: or so ago that looked at this. And someone who
- 2:14Speaker 1: knows a little bit about that is Michael Wilworth, who
- 2:16Speaker 1: is back with us from Bible League. By the way,
- 2:18Speaker 1: the phone number is one eight hundred y E S
- 2:20Speaker 1: W O R D. You can also give directly online
- 2:23Speaker 1: by going to that Kevinshow dot com and clicking the
- 2:26Speaker 1: Bible League banner at the top of the page. But Michael,
- 2:29Speaker 1: over this last weekend, a listener wrote, and you know
- 2:33Speaker 1: I've got I've got wonderful, wonderful listening audience. I love
- 2:37Speaker 1: these people. They respond so well to all the things
- 2:40Speaker 1: that we talk about and they really care about the
- 2:42Speaker 1: world around them. But I got a few crimugeny artifacts
- 2:46Speaker 1: out there too that like to weigh in and this
- 2:48Speaker 1: and this fella wrote in He's like, Ah, come on, hell,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I don't, I don't.
- 2:52Speaker 7: I don't believe you.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I don't think there's a place where they don't have
- 2:54Speaker 1: Bibles out there. That's how could you possibly say that
- 2:57Speaker 1: that's true? You were telling me before we went on
- 3:00Speaker 1: the air today that the Bible League, Voice of the
- 3:03Speaker 1: Martyrs and a couple of other organizations have all done
- 3:07Speaker 1: some rather interesting study on this and it turned up
- 3:11Speaker 1: some actual facts. Could you share those with us?
- 3:14Speaker 8: Well, you know that was a work put together by
- 3:16Speaker 8: about ten different ministries, you know, Voice of the Martyrs, Biblical,
- 3:20Speaker 8: the publisher of the New International Standard a Bible, I
- 3:25Speaker 8: should say, the NIV, right, and then Bibly. We were
- 3:28Speaker 8: part of the mix there to what look at places
- 3:30Speaker 8: in the world where you know Bibles are in short supply,
- 3:33Speaker 8: and wouldn't you know it, Kevin, not only the most
- 3:36Speaker 8: difficult parts of the world. You think of what North Korea,
- 3:39Speaker 8: China's and places like that, India, Right, Not only were
- 3:42Speaker 8: those in the most difficult, but they were the places
- 3:44Speaker 8: where there's numbers of Christians ready to receive a Bible
- 3:48Speaker 8: right telling you what gods did work in his world. Right,
- 3:51Speaker 8: And as you say, I don't think we can find
- 3:54Speaker 8: that the harshest language, you know, desperate, right is kind
- 3:59Speaker 8: of understating it, if you will, right of Christians that
- 4:02Speaker 8: don't have a Bible. You know, I'm thinking, as coming
- 4:04Speaker 8: on the air today, you know, what are your favorite scriptures?
- 4:07Speaker 9: You know?
- 4:07Speaker 8: Is it one Peter five seven? Cast your cares on him,
- 4:11Speaker 8: for he cares for you. They're perennial John three sixteen. Right.
- 4:14Speaker 8: We're going to see that blowing in the end zones
- 4:16Speaker 8: of football games. You know, next month college football kicks off,
- 4:20Speaker 8: you'll see that perennial John three sixteen.
- 4:22Speaker 7: Right.
- 4:22Speaker 8: You know John fourteen meant a lot to my family,
- 4:24Speaker 8: mean moment when my mom passed, right, knowing that you
- 4:27Speaker 8: know she lived as a believer. You know we'll see
- 4:30Speaker 8: her at some point. Right, Jesus said, I go to
- 4:33Speaker 8: prepare a place for you. But again, the Christians that
- 4:36Speaker 8: we're talking about, Kevin, have never read a single verse
- 4:39Speaker 8: in their own Bible. Right there, They're yet to claim,
- 4:41Speaker 8: if you will, their favorite scripture that they can open
- 4:44Speaker 8: and read on a daily basis. So again, let that
- 4:46Speaker 8: sink in. We're doing for these believers today what they
- 4:49Speaker 8: really cannot do for themselves. Their heart hungry, Kevin. Their
- 4:53Speaker 8: hearts are full wide. They've come to saving faith. They
- 4:55Speaker 8: know there's a God who loves them. But again, those
- 4:58Speaker 8: hands they're empty, they're waiting, and and that's why we've
- 5:00Speaker 8: come together to bless these believers in only five dollars
- 5:03Speaker 8: a Bible.
- 5:04Speaker 1: When I got that email over the weekend, I had
- 5:07Speaker 1: two responses to it. First, I was kind of annoyed,
- 5:12Speaker 1: and I said, look, those of you that are listening,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you can think that I'm totally fake and phony and everything.
- 5:23Speaker 1: That's your right to believe that about me. But if
- 5:26Speaker 1: you talk to anybody that's in my life, they will
- 5:29Speaker 1: tell you that this is a passion of mine that
- 5:31Speaker 1: I want the Bible to be used in people's lives
- 5:35Speaker 1: here in America, overseas and places where they are hard
- 5:38Speaker 1: to come by, etc. There's no person, in my opinion,
- 5:43Speaker 1: that doesn't need scripture for their life to be, you know,
- 5:49Speaker 1: brought to its fullest fruition. God gives us instructions so
- 5:53Speaker 1: that we can flourish in life. He's got a mission
- 5:55Speaker 1: for all of us. He's got a purpose for all
- 5:57Speaker 1: of us. The Bible is the best a clue and
- 6:02Speaker 1: pathway to finding what that mission is and it and
- 6:05Speaker 1: it unfolds on the pages of what we read. But
- 6:08Speaker 1: so being annoyed at first with the curmudgeon that, ah,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I don't believe it's such nobody can find a Bible. Okay,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you're welcome to not believe that, but it doesn't change
- 6:19Speaker 1: the fact that it's true. And the other thing that
- 6:23Speaker 1: startled me, and I just said this to you before
- 6:25Speaker 1: we went on the air, is that there's something about
- 6:28Speaker 1: why this ask matters because it made someone with that
- 6:33Speaker 1: mindset react with that level of hostility to say, that's
- 6:40Speaker 1: not really a thing. You shouldn't be doing that. Now
- 6:43Speaker 1: I want to I want to ask those that are listening,
- 6:45Speaker 1: because I want you to think about this. Why would
- 6:48Speaker 1: someone object strongly to getting a copy of the Bible
- 6:53Speaker 1: for people who literally are under political persecution, starvation, government oppression,
- 7:01Speaker 1: maybe militaristic threat of life depending on which country we're
- 7:05Speaker 1: talking about, whether it's North Korea or China or some
- 7:07Speaker 1: of these places, why would why would those people risk
- 7:13Speaker 1: all that's there if it, if it didn't mean something real,
- 7:17Speaker 1: if it wasn't something that was important, if it wasn't
- 7:20Speaker 1: something that actually impacted their life. What other book can
- 7:24Speaker 1: you go to and pull that out of and say
- 7:28Speaker 1: that's the book I need to be reading every day
- 7:30Speaker 1: for the rest of my life. It's not the Dictionary,
- 7:33Speaker 1: it's not Einstein's theory of mathematics, it's not you know,
- 7:38Speaker 1: Galileo's view of physics in the world. None of those
- 7:42Speaker 1: things give us the pathway to live life that is
- 7:46Speaker 1: not afraid. And Michael, I couldn't help but think as
- 7:51Speaker 1: he was saying all those words, everything you and I
- 7:54Speaker 1: had talked about last week, and how these Christians, wherever
- 7:58Speaker 1: they are in the world, they are living, in some
- 8:01Speaker 1: cases in pretty immense fear on the physical level, because
- 8:06Speaker 1: they have threats from government and competing religions and faiths
- 8:11Speaker 1: that don't want Christianity anywhere in their presence. If you
- 8:14Speaker 1: let Christianity into harden Muslim enclaves, then you have to
- 8:17Speaker 1: start respecting women, and you have to start giving them rights,
- 8:20Speaker 1: and you have to start doing a whole bunch of
- 8:21Speaker 1: things that change what they have control of. And if
- 8:24Speaker 1: you do that, that's going to change everything. And maybe
- 8:27Speaker 1: it doesn't stand up one to the other as strongly,
- 8:31Speaker 1: But for the grumpy emailer who sent me the note
- 8:35Speaker 1: this weekend, the reason I do this is because I
- 8:40Speaker 1: read that scripture. I hear my pastor saying that it's
- 8:43Speaker 1: the pathway to courage. I hear Michael saying that his
- 8:47Speaker 1: mom had the evidence of her life best illustrated through
- 8:50Speaker 1: a passage of scripture. And I think of these people
- 8:54Speaker 1: that Bible League is uniquely poised to reach and has
- 8:57Speaker 1: the unique ability to get into these places where they
- 9:00Speaker 1: do not have access to Bibles and to say not
- 9:03Speaker 1: only will we give you one, it'll be in your language,
- 9:07Speaker 1: it'll be a physical copy that you can hold in
- 9:09Speaker 1: your hand, and you'll be able to then share it
- 9:13Speaker 1: with up to twelve people coming to no faith in Jesus.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Because of that, Prince, I don't know. I really don't
- 9:20Speaker 1: understand how we can say that scripture is anything less
- 9:24Speaker 1: than the Word of God when that amount of impact
- 9:27Speaker 1: is what we gain from it. And all we're all,
- 9:30Speaker 1: Michael and I are asking you to do is to
- 9:32Speaker 1: help other people have access to it as well. The
- 9:35Speaker 1: phone number is one eight hundred. Yes, word one eight
- 9:38Speaker 1: hundred y e s word one eight hundred yes word

- 9:49Speaker 4: The top of the homepage.
- 10:08Speaker 6: Here he is from New York. Exact Kevin mccullor.
- 10:15Speaker 1: All right, welcome back. It's Friday, And at this point
- 10:18Speaker 1: in the show, every single day we ask the big question.
- 10:22Speaker 1: If you listen to the show for any length of time,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you know that I am concerned that as a culture
- 10:28Speaker 1: and as even the church, people are not asking the
- 10:31Speaker 1: big questions anymore. We don't ask the question who are we?
- 10:36Speaker 10: Like?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Literally, who am I? Why am I? Here? Is another
- 10:40Speaker 1: classic question that people have asked down through the centuries.
- 10:43Speaker 1: They don't ask it anymore. We think, I guess being
- 10:47Speaker 1: tied to the hip at our phone and punching that
- 10:50Speaker 1: screen all day long gives us some sort of excuse
- 10:52Speaker 1: to not think about those bigger things. But those I
- 10:56Speaker 1: still feel like they're so important. And for those of
- 10:59Speaker 1: us that followed you Jesus, I feel like one of
- 11:00Speaker 1: the most important questions we can ask is how do
- 11:03Speaker 1: we live? How do we live in a culture that
- 11:05Speaker 1: may be like that. They don't take eternal things deeply
- 11:09Speaker 1: very often. Maybe they maybe they mock the fact that
- 11:13Speaker 1: someone says they believe in God. Maybe they have disdain
- 11:16Speaker 1: for the Bible. Does that change our mission if we
- 11:19Speaker 1: are followers of Jesus? I would argue that it does not.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And I hope that those of you who don't follow
- 11:24Speaker 1: Jesus have some Christians in your life that understand that
- 11:28Speaker 1: it doesn't change their mission, and I hope they continue
- 11:30Speaker 1: to love you until you're a follower of Jesus too.
- 11:33Speaker 1: That's I'm not going to I'm not going to deny it.
- 11:35Speaker 1: That's my goal. So anyway, having said that, thank you
- 11:39Speaker 1: for joining us. Ryan batesl is back with us final
- 11:43Speaker 1: day of the week. Ryan leads the church Emergence Church
- 11:47Speaker 1: in New Jersey. It is a thriving discipleship focused exegetical
- 11:53Speaker 1: teaching church in northern in North Jersey. And Ryan, we
- 11:59Speaker 1: we've touched on a lot this week. Looking at Psalm
- 12:01Speaker 1: twenty seven, you you kind of confessed up front it's
- 12:04Speaker 1: one of your favorite psalms. Somebody that you were speaking
- 12:08Speaker 1: to said, the idea behind it is just just don't
- 12:12Speaker 1: do fear, like don't don't give into fear. And the
- 12:15Speaker 1: Psalm has revealed to us why that's important. It's because
- 12:18Speaker 1: God is with us. And then we've looked at some
- 12:21Speaker 1: of the support structures of that belief. But we come
- 12:23Speaker 1: to Friday. We've had these nice thoughts, we've we've kind
- 12:27Speaker 1: of gone deep in the word. And sometimes that's where
- 12:30Speaker 1: pastors are perfectly fine to let things sit, you know. Okay,
- 12:33Speaker 1: we've had these nice thoughts, we've thought these nice things.
- 12:37Speaker 1: We feel good about having looked at a piece of scripture,
- 12:40Speaker 1: but we're not given that just to sit on it.
- 12:42Speaker 1: There's a purpose for why we need to learn the
- 12:45Speaker 1: truths of this of this passage, isn't there?
- 12:48Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 12:48Speaker 9: Yeah, And Kevin, it's been It's been a great week.
- 12:51Speaker 9: And I loved that you asked the big questions. I
- 12:56Speaker 9: think your listeners loved that and you do too. I mean,
- 12:59Speaker 9: all the things people are listening to right now. Thank
- 13:04Speaker 9: God someone's asking the important stuff, you know. Yeah, I
- 13:09Speaker 9: think it comes down to, like, there really is a
- 13:14Speaker 9: courageous life to be lived. You know, when Jesus says
- 13:18Speaker 9: I've come that you may have life and have it
- 13:20Speaker 9: abundantly Obviously the most full expression of that is heaven
- 13:25Speaker 9: an eternal life. But man, there's a life in following Jesus.
- 13:30Speaker 9: Now that is a courageous life. Just read the book Acts.
- 13:35Speaker 9: So we walk forward in those three things. Power, love,
- 13:39Speaker 9: sound mind. Here's the practical question. If we're going to
- 13:43Speaker 9: walk courageously, all of us today are going to take
- 13:46Speaker 9: a step in either power, the power of God, encourage someone,
- 13:51Speaker 9: put life into someone, share the Gospel with someone, or
- 13:56Speaker 9: a sound mind. Meaning when I give in to fear,
- 13:58Speaker 9: I'm not walking in a on mind. I'm walking in
- 14:01Speaker 9: on truth. So what first do I need to apply
- 14:04Speaker 9: today to walk in the truth of the south mind?
- 14:07Speaker 9: And and it should like good question to ask ourselves,
- 14:11Speaker 9: how am I going to take one more step of
- 14:14Speaker 9: courage today for the glory of God, not my flesh.
- 14:16Speaker 1: But through a spirit well, And that can take on
- 14:19Speaker 1: a lot of different forms, but it is it is
- 14:22Speaker 1: absolutely vital that we continued to do that because Ryan
- 14:26Speaker 1: kind of bringing this full circle. If we are asking
- 14:30Speaker 1: who we are, if we are asking why we're here,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and we are believers, there's a much bigger moral component
- 14:37Speaker 1: to that than people that are just breathing in and
- 14:40Speaker 1: out every day and walking around with you know, no
- 14:42Speaker 1: real purpose. Like for the believer, we shouldn't give into fear,
- 14:46Speaker 1: not just because it reduces our anxiety, but because we're
- 14:51Speaker 1: supposed to be that agent that is bringing that peace
- 14:54Speaker 1: that shalom to the world around us.
- 14:56Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're the salt and light, right. And
- 15:00Speaker 9: one of the things salt does is it gives food
- 15:05Speaker 9: some interest, you know, And if the Christians aren't being
- 15:09Speaker 9: salt money, Let's be honest, most people are going to
- 15:12Speaker 9: spend the rest of their lives talking about the weather,
- 15:14Speaker 9: their favorite sports team or something. It's just so boring.
- 15:19Speaker 9: And here we get to talk about how we truly live, right,
- 15:23Speaker 9: We get to talk about love, we get to talk
- 15:25Speaker 9: about justice, we get to talk about the gospel and
- 15:28Speaker 9: eternal life. Like, we have the most interesting stuff. Everything
- 15:33Speaker 9: else people are talking about is pretty boring in comparison,
- 15:37Speaker 9: And so one of the ways we be courageous as
- 15:40Speaker 9: we go. Hey, I have the most interesting news here today, right,
- 15:45Speaker 9: I have treasure in the jar of clay, and I'm
- 15:49Speaker 9: going to share it because people should know it.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You know, well, and that doesn't mean that we've perfected
- 15:56Speaker 1: all of it ourselves. And I want you to address
- 15:58Speaker 1: this with some detail, because I can already hear the objections. Well,
- 16:03Speaker 1: I don't want to become like a holier than thou.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I don't want to be seen as a hypocrite. I
- 16:08Speaker 1: don't want to be seen as someone who doesn't have
- 16:10Speaker 1: my act together but is expecting other people to have
- 16:12Speaker 1: their act together. Some form of that same argument seems
- 16:15Speaker 1: to always be what the conversation gets distilled down to.
- 16:19Speaker 9: Yeah, so let's take it in two lanes, right, And
- 16:23Speaker 9: I'd say this, if there's something glaringly hypocritical in your life, like,
- 16:27Speaker 9: try to get that right.
- 16:29Speaker 6: You know, like, if.
- 16:31Speaker 9: You're like, man, I don't want to witness the people
- 16:33Speaker 9: while I'm drunk at the bar, well, okay, it's.
- 16:35Speaker 6: Time to stop doing that.
- 16:36Speaker 9: But if it's not a gross, egregious, continual habitual sin, right,
- 16:42Speaker 9: all of us sin. And you know, one of the
- 16:44Speaker 9: things I have been shared with people is like, hey,
- 16:47Speaker 9: a lot of people say Christians are hypocrites.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Guess what it's true, ringing.
- 16:53Speaker 9: The thing about Christians is actually what makes us Christians
- 16:57Speaker 9: is we're trying to tell the truth that we're hypocrites.
- 17:00Speaker 9: We're trying to admit that we're sinners and need a savior.
- 17:03Speaker 9: So free yourself from the perfect witness pressure because it's
- 17:10Speaker 9: not real. And when someone comes at you with, hey,
- 17:13Speaker 9: you're inconsistent, acknowledge it. Just be like, I know, isn't
- 17:18Speaker 9: God's grace amazing?
- 17:19Speaker 1: Before we leave this lane, though, let me ask you,
- 17:22Speaker 1: is that oftentimes just something that we put in our
- 17:26Speaker 1: own path to kind of give us the excuse to
- 17:29Speaker 1: not have to go the rest of the way.
- 17:32Speaker 7: I think you're dead on there, Kevin.
- 17:33Speaker 9: I haven't had someone throw that at me in decades,
- 17:38Speaker 9: you know what I mean.
- 17:39Speaker 7: I haven't been hit by that in a long time.
- 17:42Speaker 6: And you know who knows why?
- 17:45Speaker 10: Right?
- 17:46Speaker 7: But I think you're right.
- 17:47Speaker 9: I think a lesson less and less people are looking
- 17:52Speaker 9: for a perfect witness.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Right.
- 17:53Speaker 9: We're not sharing ourselves.
- 17:55Speaker 1: We're sharing a truth, yeah, a truth that changed us.
- 18:00Speaker 7: Yes and is still changing yes.
- 18:02Speaker 9: Right, And so we're not you know the old classic,
- 18:05Speaker 9: I'm not who I want to be, but I'm not
- 18:07Speaker 9: who I was, you know that? And that's the prayer.
- 18:10Speaker 9: And then the second piece about it is not only
- 18:14Speaker 9: does the Holy Spirit give courage and boldness, but it
- 18:20Speaker 9: also gives love and gentleness and compassion.
- 18:23Speaker 11: And man, Sometimes just saying to people I'm not trying
- 18:29Speaker 11: to be holier than now in this, I'm doing this
- 18:33Speaker 11: because I love you.
- 18:34Speaker 9: Sometimes just saying the concern out loud it takes it
- 18:38Speaker 9: off the table, you know, Like I I One of
- 18:41Speaker 9: the things that I talked to people pastoral counseling all
- 18:43Speaker 9: the time about is people go, Hey, I'm so nervous
- 18:46Speaker 9: to share this with this person because I feel like
- 18:48Speaker 9: they're going to hear this, and I'm not trying to
- 18:49Speaker 9: say that. What I want them to hear is this,
- 18:51Speaker 9: And I just don't want them to think that. You know,
- 18:53Speaker 9: what I say to them, I say, say that.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Just starts say that thing.
- 18:59Speaker 7: You just.
- 19:01Speaker 9: Start the conversation like that, and you'll be amazed that
- 19:04Speaker 9: people go, oh, and yet like the same thing with hey,
- 19:09Speaker 9: I'm not trying to come across this earlier than now.
- 19:11Speaker 9: I need disgrace too.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I love you.
- 19:14Speaker 9: I'm not trying to be a browbeater or anything like that.
- 19:18Speaker 9: I just want to know this incredible truth that there's
- 19:21Speaker 9: a God in heaven and he forgives sinners, of which
- 19:23Speaker 9: we are all sinners. And not only does he forgive him,
- 19:26Speaker 9: he doesn't do it like a disapproving Father, he puts
- 19:30Speaker 9: his arms around us in a robe on us, and
- 19:32Speaker 9: all of Heaven rejoices every time a sinner comes home
- 19:35Speaker 9: to him. That's how he forgives us. And the gospel
- 19:39Speaker 9: is more beautiful than most people.
- 19:42Speaker 7: It's the most beautiful thing people will ever hear. And
- 19:44Speaker 7: so tell the beauty of it, you know.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, it's been a fantastic week Ryan, thank you
- 19:50Speaker 1: for pouring your heart into it. And if people once
- 19:53Speaker 1: again are coming to an emergence this weekend, they want
- 19:56Speaker 1: to try out, maybe experience what you guys do. What
- 20:00Speaker 1: are you going to be teaching.
- 20:01Speaker 6: On Psalm fifty one?
- 20:04Speaker 9: Actually the doozy the repentance psalm Kevin, I like to say,
- 20:10Speaker 9: for the day most of us have a time machine
- 20:14Speaker 9: day if there was a if we had a time machine,
- 20:17Speaker 9: we would go back and undo that day. We still
- 20:19Speaker 9: feel ashamed when we think about it. Psalm fifty one
- 20:23Speaker 9: is the repentance psalm for that day. And here's a
- 20:26Speaker 9: really good The Gospel's big enough even for that day,
- 20:31Speaker 9: the biggest failures of our life.
- 20:33Speaker 1: That sounds like it will be an amazing discussion. So
- 20:36Speaker 1: I hope that people will check that out. Ryan, batesl
- 20:39Speaker 1: Emergence dot Church online if you want to check it out. Ryan,
- 20:42Speaker 1: thank you for a great week.
- 20:43Speaker 7: Thanks Kevin, you got it.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Kevin mccallaugh coming right back. Don't go anywhere, stick.
- 20:48Speaker 12: Around for more of than Kevin Next.
- 21:08Speaker 6: Here he is from New York. Exact Kevin McCullough.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Welcome back. It is that Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot com.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Very glad to have you with us for another opportunity
- 21:26Speaker 1: to let you know that those of you that have
- 21:29Speaker 1: stood with us at that kevinshow dot com and clicked
- 21:32Speaker 1: that banner at the top of the page, you are
- 21:34Speaker 1: making a difference. And we've talked a lot about over
- 21:37Speaker 1: the last few days about how many people from New
- 21:39Speaker 1: York have helped us and said thank you and so
- 21:42Speaker 1: forth to them. But Michael, we've been just a little
- 21:45Speaker 1: bit remiss in not thinking the many many people listening
- 21:48Speaker 1: and joining us on this effort from all across the country,
- 21:52Speaker 1: I mean, and from some places very far away.
- 21:54Speaker 8: Well, I can tell you we're grateful for the expansion
- 21:57Speaker 8: of that Kevin Show, right yeah, I mean you know
- 21:59Speaker 8: what our founders, you know, founded Bible Lega, you know,
- 22:01Speaker 8: almost ninety years ago.
- 22:02Speaker 6: Kevin.
- 22:03Speaker 8: They knew it was not going to be a small
- 22:05Speaker 8: group of people that would pull off the work of
- 22:07Speaker 8: the Great Commission right. It would take people all over
- 22:09Speaker 8: the country, all over the world saying you know what,
- 22:12Speaker 8: I've got to be a part of what God is doing.
- 22:14Speaker 8: People like Dorian of Glendale, Arizona said, I'm in a
- 22:17Speaker 8: gift of twenty Bibles. Surely a flower mound, Texas a
- 22:22Speaker 8: gift of ten bibles. Thank you, Robert of Puria, Arizona,
- 22:25Speaker 8: one hundred and fifty dollars gift for thirty Bibles. And
- 22:28Speaker 8: let me correct myself, Dorian made a gift actually of
- 22:31Speaker 8: five one hundred dollars, filling the empty waiting hands of
- 22:34Speaker 8: one hundred believers that we know by name. At Bible
- 22:36Speaker 8: League and Kevin, we've said, together as two ministries, can
- 22:39Speaker 8: we bless just north of ten thousand believers with the
- 22:43Speaker 8: precious Word of God. These are men and women to
- 22:45Speaker 8: this point in their walk with the Lord, who have
- 22:47Speaker 8: been what denied access to God's Word. But listeners to
- 22:51Speaker 8: that Kevin show getting it done, call by call, click
- 22:54Speaker 8: by click. We're just north of two thousand again, our
- 22:57Speaker 8: gold just north of ten thousand and again every call,
- 23:01Speaker 8: every click gets his on a Bible closer to that goal.
- 23:04Speaker 1: A little bit closer. One eight hundred yes. Word is
- 23:06Speaker 1: the phone number, friend, one eight hundred y e s word.
- 23:10Speaker 1: You can also very easily give by going to that
- 23:13Speaker 1: kevinshow dot com and clicking the banner at the top
- 23:15Speaker 1: of the page. You will see an elderly lady there.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I think she's probably on the African continent if I'm
- 23:21Speaker 1: just guessing, But she is smiling ear to ear. And
- 23:24Speaker 1: why is she smiling ear to ear Because she has
- 23:27Speaker 1: a joy of holding in her hands. I believe you
- 23:29Speaker 1: can see it in the picture itself, a copy of
- 23:33Speaker 1: the Bible in her language. Now, Michael, a lot of
- 23:36Speaker 1: times you know these people in these pictures. Is this
- 23:40Speaker 1: someone you know that you were on a trip with,
- 23:43Speaker 1: or well.
- 23:44Speaker 8: She's on the continent of Africa, as you say, And
- 23:46Speaker 8: I can tell you she was among a group that
- 23:49Speaker 8: we provided Bibles to. In fact, there were one hundred
- 23:51Speaker 8: people that we gave Bibles to that day.
- 23:52Speaker 7: Kevin.
- 23:53Speaker 8: I mean when you do it, I've seen the reaction.
- 23:56Speaker 8: I wish I could bust every lister up and go
- 23:59Speaker 8: to those places where you see the reaction of a
- 24:01Speaker 8: Christian when he or she finally receives a Bible. But
- 24:04Speaker 8: I can remember giving a Bible to the former village
- 24:07Speaker 8: witch doctor who took that Bible again, a lot of
- 24:10Speaker 8: those before her, they sang, they danced. Remember one Gal
- 24:14Speaker 8: just stood there clutching the Bible that would tell her
- 24:17Speaker 8: about the God who loves her Ryan. I mean, she
- 24:19Speaker 8: didn't say much. But Mabel, this former village witch doctor, Kevin,
- 24:23Speaker 8: when I gave her that Bible, she it was in Swahili.
- 24:26Speaker 8: She went to the scripture that was her first scripture
- 24:29Speaker 8: that she read from Second Corinthians five, and it was
- 24:32Speaker 8: what I'm a new creation in Christ. And again, you're
- 24:35Speaker 8: in a place where you're singled out, you're targeted, you're monitored,
- 24:38Speaker 8: you face incredible hardship.
- 24:39Speaker 6: What do you need to be able to do?
- 24:40Speaker 8: Open God's precious word, be reminded that he knows you
- 24:44Speaker 8: intimately right, and He's got precious promises that belong to
- 24:47Speaker 8: us as believers. Wanted to take you to the country
- 24:49Speaker 8: of India. Kevin tell you the story of a woman
- 24:52Speaker 8: by the name of Lolitha. What Christians are up against
- 24:55Speaker 8: in this nation is absolutely horrific. There are anti conversion
- 24:58Speaker 8: laws on the books in twent twenty six states there
- 25:00Speaker 8: it means what if you tell somebody what Jesus means
- 25:03Speaker 8: to you, they can throw you in jail. You've got
- 25:05Speaker 8: this audio clip from my colleague demand by the name
- 25:08Speaker 8: of Subiesh. He's in the nation of India.
- 25:10Speaker 13: One of our church plannder. He told me like this.
- 25:14Speaker 13: In his village, you will see the sign boats Christian
- 25:16Speaker 13: missionaries are prohibited in the village. If anyone tries to
- 25:20Speaker 13: do it, they will attack them mercilessly. And I believe
- 25:24Speaker 13: the reason behind all this is the growth of the church.
- 25:27Speaker 13: People are responding to the Gospel and are joining the church.
- 25:32Speaker 13: Church is growing in India amidst of the severe persecutions.
- 25:37Speaker 8: Well, it's exactly what we pray for, isn't it, that
- 25:39Speaker 8: the Gospel would take grip all over the world. So again, listeners,
- 25:42Speaker 8: your prayers are being answered. I mean, I know that
- 25:45Speaker 8: in the midst of our business, you know, we do
- 25:47Speaker 8: pray that people would bend the need to the Lord
- 25:49Speaker 8: Jesus begin living their lives to His glory. And on
- 25:52Speaker 8: what we're telling you today is what that is clearly happening,
- 25:55Speaker 8: and the incredible growth that we're seeing all this spiritual
- 25:58Speaker 8: awakening Christians who live of nominal lives, you know, waking
- 26:02Speaker 8: up to the Gospel saying you know what, I want
- 26:04Speaker 8: to take the Lord seriously. That's what's contributing to this
- 26:07Speaker 8: incredible Bible of famine that we're seeing around the world.
- 26:10Speaker 8: But I want to tell you the story of Lolitha
- 26:12Speaker 8: born in Coastal India, raised a strict Tindu. At fourteen,
- 26:15Speaker 8: she was forced to marry an older man. She didn't know,
- 26:18Speaker 8: she didn't love. That happens a lot in that culture.
- 26:21Speaker 8: This was a man, he was a radicalized Hindu. Didn't
- 26:25Speaker 8: look at Lalitha as somebody to love and nourish was
- 26:27Speaker 8: really a possession to be had. He was killed in
- 26:30Speaker 8: an audibile accident, leaving Loalitha a widow. In that culture there, Kevin,
- 26:34Speaker 8: she was forced into human trafficking. The drug car tells
- 26:37Speaker 8: that are there in India will force young girls into
- 26:41Speaker 8: the human trafficking rings. They funnel a lot of drugs
- 26:45Speaker 8: through those. She lived in absolute utter hopelessness to for
- 26:49Speaker 8: lack of a better word, I mean, this is a
- 26:50Speaker 8: woman that was pimped, you know, ten times a day
- 26:53Speaker 8: for about five years of her life. When she reached
- 26:56Speaker 8: her late teens, there was somebody that rescued her, brought
- 26:59Speaker 8: to her place to introduced her to the hope of
- 27:02Speaker 8: the Gospel, train her to share Christ with others. I
- 27:04Speaker 8: can tell you, by the grace of God and through
- 27:07Speaker 8: the gumption of people like Lialitha, the Gospel is going
- 27:11Speaker 8: forth in India. Now listen, Lilitha's story kind of ends
- 27:14Speaker 8: in sadness, at least this side of eternity. She died
- 27:17Speaker 8: of hiv ate, something that was afflicted upon her in
- 27:20Speaker 8: those years of human trafficking, but not before she was
- 27:24Speaker 8: able to introduce ninety six former Hindus to the hope
- 27:28Speaker 8: of the Gospel. So round that up. About one hundred
- 27:30Speaker 8: fellow members of our spiritual family, praying again, not for
- 27:33Speaker 8: our pity today, not for our protections in a nation
- 27:36Speaker 8: that fiercely opposes the Gospel. What they're praying for is want.
- 27:39Speaker 8: It is the precious Word of God in the Hindi language.
- 27:42Speaker 1: One eight hundred yes word, one eight hundred yes word.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Go to that kevinshow dot com and click the banner
- 27:48Speaker 1: at the top of the page.
- 28:08Speaker 14: Here he is from New York exact Kevin. Kevin McCullough,
- 28:17Speaker 14: Welcome back.
- 28:17Speaker 1: One eight hundred. Yes, word is the number one eight
- 28:20Speaker 1: hundred yees w r D Kevin McCullough, Glad to have
- 28:23Speaker 1: you with us. It's that Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot com.
- 28:25Speaker 1: If you want to give online, click the Bible League
- 28:28Speaker 1: banner at the top of the page. But we're supplying
- 28:30Speaker 1: Bibles for people who are desperate to get them but
- 28:35Speaker 1: can't don't have access to them. It's like, uh, it's
- 28:40Speaker 1: I don't know, Michael Woolworth from Bible League. I kind
- 28:42Speaker 1: of think of it.
- 28:43Speaker 7: It's like.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Being somewhere where you desperately, like have you ever really
- 28:48Speaker 1: been thirsty? Like you've been out all day and you
- 28:50Speaker 1: just don't have any water handy, and it's like you're
- 28:52Speaker 1: gonna have to go somewhere to get some water. It
- 28:54Speaker 1: may not even be cold water, maybe room temperature water,
- 28:57Speaker 1: but that water, once you are able to drink it,
- 28:59Speaker 1: it's gonna mean so much to you. That's kind of
- 29:02Speaker 1: spiritually how these Christians are. They're in places where they
- 29:05Speaker 1: can't get the Word of God in their language, in
- 29:10Speaker 1: their hands, for their homes, for their lives, for their
- 29:12Speaker 1: hearts and Bible he can, and we're just asking them,
- 29:15Speaker 1: will you help us? Will you help us get the
- 29:17Speaker 1: Bibles to them? That may be an oversimplification, but it's
- 29:20Speaker 1: really how I kind of view it.
- 29:21Speaker 8: Well, you know, if you were tackling, if you and
- 29:23Speaker 8: I were tackling human hunger today, Kevin, what happens if
- 29:26Speaker 8: you don't eventually eat, you know, eventually you want, you'll
- 29:28Speaker 8: starve to death. I don't think it's a stretch to
- 29:31Speaker 8: say that a a Christian who goes without God's precious
- 29:35Speaker 8: Word is in some way spiritually malnourished. You know, I
- 29:38Speaker 8: know I'm a friend that spirit is suffering with anemia. Right,
- 29:44Speaker 8: he takes medication. When his body is fortified with that
- 29:48Speaker 8: mineral that he needs, right, his life is that much better. Right.
- 29:52Speaker 8: And again, the spiritual nourishment of the Word is what
- 29:54Speaker 8: these Christians are after, Kevin, I travel the world. We
- 29:57Speaker 8: have friends that fund those trips. I talked to these
- 30:00Speaker 8: end users of Bible League study materials and Bibles. Never
- 30:03Speaker 8: have they said, get on that Kevin show. Pray for
- 30:06Speaker 8: an end to our suffering. They know what God's working
- 30:09Speaker 8: through it. What they're asking is what help us to
- 30:12Speaker 8: love God with every fiber of our being to obey
- 30:15Speaker 8: Him in every circumstance. If we face persecution, pray that
- 30:18Speaker 8: we'll see those around us not as the enemy, but
- 30:21Speaker 8: as the mission field. And then the course, they're quick
- 30:23Speaker 8: to say what we need God's precious word, that we
- 30:26Speaker 8: need that to be able to grow. And so, Kevin,
- 30:27Speaker 8: that's why we've joined together. We have identified just north
- 30:31Speaker 8: of ten thousand waiting believers that we know by name
- 30:33Speaker 8: of Bible. These are men, these are women, teenagers in
- 30:36Speaker 8: some cases, who have come to saving faith where God
- 30:39Speaker 8: has them planning. It's nearly impossible to find a Bible.
- 30:43Speaker 8: But again that's where our listeners to that Kevin Show
- 30:45Speaker 8: and WMCA tuned in all over the country today right
- 30:49Speaker 8: are able to step into the stories of these believers
- 30:51Speaker 8: and send them exactly what they're praying for. Again, that's
- 30:54Speaker 8: not pity, it's not protections, it's what it's the precious
- 30:57Speaker 8: word of God.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Five dollars per copy helps put Bibles into the hands
- 31:02Speaker 1: of the people that need them. And I was just thinking.
- 31:05Speaker 1: My pastor this last week was teaching on Psalm twenty
- 31:08Speaker 1: seven and he was talking about how that's where the
- 31:12Speaker 1: writer in Psalms lays out what's what he calls a
- 31:15Speaker 1: path to a courageous life, and it says, I won't
- 31:18Speaker 1: be afraid. I won't I won't be I will choose
- 31:20Speaker 1: not to be afraid of armies or people who wish
- 31:24Speaker 1: to kill me, or you know, those that wish to
- 31:27Speaker 1: eat the flesh off my bones, which is kind of
- 31:29Speaker 1: a gross thing, but that's that's what the writer says. Instead,
- 31:33Speaker 1: he will put his faith in Jesus. And my pastor
- 31:38Speaker 1: made a really clear emphasis that being afraid and sometimes
- 31:43Speaker 1: being scared are not the same thing living with constant
- 31:45Speaker 1: fear and anxiety. It's not the same thing as being scared,
- 31:49Speaker 1: and being scared can actually save your life. If there's
- 31:51Speaker 1: a brown bear coming up on you, you need to
- 31:53Speaker 1: be scared and you need to leave the area so
- 31:55Speaker 1: that he does.
- 31:55Speaker 7: Not eat you.
- 31:56Speaker 1: That's that's that's wisdom in being scared. Scared sometimes produces
- 32:00Speaker 1: good things. And he said, but there's another good thing
- 32:02Speaker 1: that being scared sometimes does, and he said, it opens
- 32:06Speaker 1: up the opportunity for the courageous Christian to live courageously.
- 32:11Speaker 1: And when I think of courageous Christians, I think of
- 32:13Speaker 1: Christians in North Korea. I think of Christians behind the
- 32:16Speaker 1: bamboo curtain in China. I think of Christians that are
- 32:19Speaker 1: in majority Muslim countries, that are within, you know, risking
- 32:26Speaker 1: their lives by not just believing in the God of
- 32:30Speaker 1: the Bible, but sometimes telling other people about him as well.
- 32:34Speaker 1: And what these Christians, the courageous Christians that I'm talking about,
- 32:38Speaker 1: what they are, what they are asking for is not
- 32:41Speaker 1: a fear free life or a scared free life. They're
- 32:46Speaker 1: asking for God's word to do what to help make
- 32:51Speaker 1: them courageous in the face of what they are scared of.
- 32:55Speaker 1: One eight hundred yes word, one eight hundred yes word.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Give them the courageous key today, God's Word to help
- 33:01Speaker 1: them live courageously in the face of what they are facing.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Now we're talking about places all over the world, Michael,
- 33:08Speaker 1: all over the world.
- 33:09Speaker 8: Well in Venezuela. Let me take you to Caracas, just
- 33:12Speaker 8: outside of Caracas. This is the place, of course, where
- 33:15Speaker 8: the terrible earthquakes hit only weeks ago. I think they're
- 33:18Speaker 8: still trying to get an accounting of how many people
- 33:20Speaker 8: have been killed and how many are still missing. Right,
- 33:23Speaker 8: But that's the setting for this next story. I want
- 33:25Speaker 8: to tell you about a group of Christians putting everything
- 33:28Speaker 8: on the line to rescue women from the groups of
- 33:30Speaker 8: human trafficking. Kevin, the drug cartels really rule the day
- 33:34Speaker 8: down there. They funnel a lot of drugs through prostitution rings.
- 33:37Speaker 8: Where do they come up with the women for that, Well,
- 33:39Speaker 8: they forced them into it, right. These are girls eleven, twelve,
- 33:42Speaker 8: thirteen years of age forced into prostitution by the drug cartels.
- 33:46Speaker 8: They live in absolute, utter hopelessness. There was a church
- 33:50Speaker 8: that said, you know, we've got to do something about this, right,
- 33:52Speaker 8: So they worked with another ministry to learn how to
- 33:55Speaker 8: forcibly rescue these women from human trafficking. They worked with
- 33:58Speaker 8: Bible League to be able to introduce these women to
- 34:01Speaker 8: the hope of the Gospel once they were brought to
- 34:03Speaker 8: a place of safety. They have paid a price for this, Kevin.
- 34:05Speaker 8: In a recent rescue attempt, one of the members of
- 34:08Speaker 8: that church was killed by the cartel. They dragged his
- 34:10Speaker 8: corpse behind a truck down one of the main streets
- 34:14Speaker 8: just outside of Caracas of Venezuela. Send the message to
- 34:17Speaker 8: what don't mess with the cartel. But again, this church
- 34:19Speaker 8: stays focused on what they believe God has called them
- 34:22Speaker 8: to do. They have rescued. To date, almost one hundred
- 34:25Speaker 8: and twenty women again who lived in utter hopelessness right
- 34:30Speaker 8: and are now in a place of safety. They've come
- 34:32Speaker 8: to saving faith. All one hundred and twenty of those
- 34:34Speaker 8: women have come to saving faith.
- 34:36Speaker 6: Kevin.
- 34:36Speaker 8: They're members of our spiritual family. Now, look here in America,
- 34:39Speaker 8: if you had a loved one, a child, an adult child,
- 34:41Speaker 8: maybe an old college roommate who came to saving faith,
- 34:44Speaker 8: you would do anything to get them a Bible so
- 34:47Speaker 8: that you could see them begin to grow in grace
- 34:49Speaker 8: right to read about the God who loves them and listen.
- 34:52Speaker 8: Even though these are you know, these are women, you
- 34:54Speaker 8: know a few miles from us. That doesn't take away
- 34:57Speaker 8: the opportunity that we have in the moment and the
- 34:59Speaker 8: joy that will come as you send the Bible to
- 35:02Speaker 8: these new creations in Christ. Just outside of Caracas, Venezuela.
- 35:07Speaker 15: In Latin America, there are violence. Only rich people have safety,
- 35:12Speaker 15: has security. Poor neighborhoods are full of corruption, at full
- 35:17Speaker 15: of misery, at full of poverty, and criminals are almost
- 35:22Speaker 15: at home when they are in the streets. Pastors and
- 35:26Speaker 15: Christian workers face with that problems. Attackers, drops, thieves, gangs.
- 35:35Speaker 15: So that's the problem.
- 35:37Speaker 1: You can help solve that problem by sending a copy
- 35:39Speaker 1: of God's Word right now one eight hundred yes word.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Or go to that kevinshow dot com and click the
- 35:44Speaker 1: Bible League banner at the top of the page.
- 35:47Speaker 12: Stick around for more of than Kevin next.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Serving it up with a no drink minute. It's that
- 36:07Speaker 6: cabin show.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Great to have you here, friends. One eight hundred yes
- 36:11Speaker 1: word is the number. One eight hundred yes word. I
- 36:13Speaker 1: know we've got a lot of other things on your mind.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I know you're thinking, oh, I got to do all
- 36:17Speaker 1: the things. That's okay. Can you just take a couple
- 36:20Speaker 1: of minutes out and send a Bible to someone who
- 36:22Speaker 1: needs it. Michael Wilworth is back with us. Michael, we're
- 36:25Speaker 1: talking about places all over the globe, several different continents.
- 36:29Speaker 8: Well, I want to take you to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- 36:32Speaker 8: in Eastern Africa. You've got this clip from a pastor
- 36:35Speaker 8: Dusy here a little background. Otherwise this really wouldn't make
- 36:38Speaker 8: a lot of sense, but he is one of those
- 36:40Speaker 8: At forty years ago, Kevin lost about thirty family members
- 36:44Speaker 8: to the Ethiopian family. You remember this about a million
- 36:47Speaker 8: people lost their lives. That led to what Michael Jackson's
- 36:49Speaker 8: we are in the world, But that's the context from
- 36:52Speaker 8: where this pastor Dusy is there in Ethiopia, Africa. But
- 36:56Speaker 8: he has this I call it really a profound statement
- 36:59Speaker 8: to make. We often think in Africa, what's their greatest need?
- 37:01Speaker 4: Food?
- 37:02Speaker 6: Right, clean water?
- 37:03Speaker 8: No, he says what it is the spiritual nourishment that
- 37:06Speaker 8: comes only from the Word of God.
- 37:08Speaker 6: We have a great need. We don't need food in
- 37:12Speaker 6: the church.
- 37:13Speaker 15: The eight talent thousand Christians in Islam.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Do not leave food from you.
- 37:17Speaker 10: But they are only crying out that you give them
- 37:21Speaker 10: the One of Good and whoever comes our way and
- 37:24Speaker 10: he's able to.
- 37:25Speaker 4: Give us a Bible, it will be a great blessing.
- 37:27Speaker 6: It will be better than giving us for tweet.
- 37:29Speaker 8: Yeah, you know there's a great need for food, water.
- 37:33Speaker 8: I mean, I can tell you as a global ministry
- 37:35Speaker 8: or paths often cross with organizations both in Goos and
- 37:38Speaker 8: Christian that do that very very well. Never diminish the
- 37:41Speaker 8: need for that. But again, as a pastor, Dusy boots
- 37:44Speaker 8: on the ground of saying what is it? It's the
- 37:46Speaker 8: Word of God. As people leave the grips of Sunni
- 37:49Speaker 8: Islam as they leave witchcraft, all the pagan beliefs and
- 37:53Speaker 8: practices that are part of that and that great big continent.
- 37:57Speaker 8: They often have one a caricature of Christianity. It's all wrong.
- 38:01Speaker 8: They know very little of Jesus. They need to be
- 38:03Speaker 8: able to read about the God who loves them, and
- 38:06Speaker 8: that is the plea of a pastor Dusey today. But
- 38:09Speaker 8: I want to tell you quick story of a woman
- 38:11Speaker 8: by the name of Dorcas who is just outside of
- 38:14Speaker 8: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She's part of that man's congregation. Her
- 38:18Speaker 8: husband was murdered, Kevin, by members of the l Shabab
- 38:22Speaker 8: Terrissell that absolutely ruled the day there in that part
- 38:25Speaker 8: of Ethiopia. Now, that left her a widow with the
- 38:28Speaker 8: three young children. Now listen. Her story is one of
- 38:31Speaker 8: desperation too. When her husband was murdered, she was seeking answer.
- 38:35Speaker 8: Somebody said, look, there's an evangelistic meeting that's happening. Bible
- 38:40Speaker 8: League was the organization behind that. Kevin, she walked two
- 38:43Speaker 8: hours each way, two hours each way to be a
- 38:46Speaker 8: part of that evangelistic meeting. She would would give her
- 38:50Speaker 8: life to Christ, would become a believer that evening walk
- 38:53Speaker 8: those those two hours back to her children, right, and
- 38:57Speaker 8: is now wanting to raise them in the ways of
- 38:59Speaker 8: the Lord. This is a woman whose future is incredibly
- 39:04Speaker 8: uncertain right and a part of the world whereas a
- 39:06Speaker 8: believer she faces groups like the l Shaw, Bob terrorI
- 39:10Speaker 8: Isel right that murdered her husband. Again, this is not
- 39:13Speaker 8: somebody asking for our pity or for our protection today,
- 39:16Speaker 8: She's praying for what it is, the precious Word of God.
- 39:19Speaker 8: It happens at five dollars a Bible. How many will
- 39:21Speaker 8: you send today?
- 39:23Speaker 1: One eight hundred Yes, word is the phone number? One
- 39:25Speaker 1: eight hundred y s word takes a couple of minutes
- 39:30Speaker 1: just to talk with someone, give them your info, and
- 39:32Speaker 1: then be able to make that gift and be on
- 39:34Speaker 1: your way. Same is true if you go to that
- 39:37Speaker 1: kevinshow dot com click the Bible League banner at the
- 39:39Speaker 1: top of the page that kevinshow dot com. Click the
- 39:43Speaker 1: Bible League banner. A couple of minutes there and you're
- 39:46Speaker 1: on your way as well. But you're more than on
- 39:48Speaker 1: your way because once those gifts are given, the Bible
- 39:53Speaker 1: is then delivered, and the Bible is not just a
- 39:56Speaker 1: generic Bible that is sitting on a shelf somewhere. It's
- 39:59Speaker 1: printed on demand in the dialect in the language of
- 40:04Speaker 1: the person that needs it, and it is delivered. It's
- 40:08Speaker 1: printed in close proximity to where they live, so we
- 40:10Speaker 1: can get it to them as quickly as possible. And friends,
- 40:14Speaker 1: you just want to return on your investment, Give a
- 40:16Speaker 1: five dollars Bible and have twelve people come to faith
- 40:19Speaker 1: in Jesus. You've just helped twelve people find eternity with Jesus.
- 40:23Speaker 1: And I just think that that is an amazing and
- 40:26Speaker 1: wonderful gift to give them one eight hundred yes word,
- 40:29Speaker 1: one eight hundred yees WRD or go to that kevinshow

- 40:55Speaker 3: Because a man also not sleeping heaven and that guy
- 41:01Speaker 3: would like a.
- 41:02Speaker 16: Word with you.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Many of you know him when as looks for Damas.
- 41:05Speaker 6: Of course, that Kevin Show is going to be great.
- 41:07Speaker 4: The only thing that could be greater, of course, would
- 41:09Speaker 4: be that Donald Show. But we don't have that, so
- 41:11Speaker 4: we have That Kevin.
- 41:12Speaker 5: Show featuring the music of Dick Tunny and the Dream
- 41:17Speaker 5: in Color Orchestra. Straight ahead, everything you need to know

- 41:33Speaker 5: that will give you some externity to it. Plus practical
- 41:37Speaker 5: tips for family life, spiritual life, and good old regular life.
- 41:43Speaker 5: It's Kevin McCollough Monday through Friday on That Kevin Show
- 41:54Speaker 5: and Now from the Connors in Sullivan Broadcast Studios.
- 41:58Speaker 6: The man who is not what.
- 42:00Speaker 3: He wants to be, but he is way grateful that
- 42:03Speaker 3: is not.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Who he used to be.
- 42:06Speaker 10: Here everyone wants to read the Bible. But what happens
- 42:15Speaker 10: there are a few copies here in the area. Many
- 42:18Speaker 10: of them will be sharing a single Bible.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Many people sharing a single Bible. That's the case over
- 42:25Speaker 1: and over again. The Bible League runs into Michael Woolworth
- 42:28Speaker 1: is back with us and Michael, that's the problem we're
- 42:31Speaker 1: trying to work ourselves out of. We want to get
- 42:33Speaker 1: more Bibles into the hands of people so that they
- 42:36Speaker 1: can't read the scriptures for themselves.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Well.
- 42:38Speaker 8: The man is an itinerant. Pastor ministers have primarily in
- 42:41Speaker 8: the Andes Mounds, the countries of Ecuador, and Peru. Yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 8: Carlo does not exaggerate the truth, Kevin. He's got believers,
- 42:48Speaker 8: you know, five hundred here, three hundred here, fifty over
- 42:51Speaker 8: here that are what eager to grow in grace, right,
- 42:53Speaker 8: But they've never read for themselves from the precious Word
- 42:57Speaker 8: have gone. And so it ought to be unthinkable at
- 42:59Speaker 8: ours that that's happening in this day and age, especially
- 43:03Speaker 8: when you can provide that for the princely sum of
- 43:05Speaker 8: only five dollars a Bible. So if you love your Bible,
- 43:08Speaker 8: if God has used a word to grow you, would
- 43:10Speaker 8: you give that privilege to others day. That's what we're
- 43:12Speaker 8: doing in this campaign that will not go on forever.
- 43:14Speaker 8: By the way, we have simply earmarked a few weeks
- 43:16Speaker 8: to come together to tackle this goal of blessing just
- 43:19Speaker 8: north of ten thousand waiting believers that we know by
- 43:22Speaker 8: name of Biblely, we're right now, Kevin, closing in one
- 43:25Speaker 8: thousand Bibles. So that would put us at one tenth
- 43:28Speaker 8: of the goal met to this point, but again a
- 43:30Speaker 8: long way to go. And again it happens with every
- 43:33Speaker 8: call and with every click.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Today, one eight hundred yes word is the number. One
- 43:37Speaker 1: eight hundred yes word You can also give online at
- 43:41Speaker 1: that kevinshow dot com. Click the banner at the top
- 43:43Speaker 1: of the homepage the Bible League manner. It's the only
- 43:47Speaker 1: thing there. It's at the very top of the homepage.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Just click. That should take you about two minutes roughly
- 43:52Speaker 1: to put your information in, to give your gift, and
- 43:55Speaker 1: to be on your way. But Michael, the return on
- 43:58Speaker 1: giving that gift is unli like any other benefit I
- 44:01Speaker 1: can think of in terms of what I could do
- 44:04Speaker 1: with that money if I'm talking about truly spiritually important stuff,
- 44:07Speaker 1: because those Bibles turn into more lives that have been changed.
- 44:11Speaker 8: Well, you know, from a you know, an investment standpoint
- 44:13Speaker 8: that you can trust. You know, Bible League has been
- 44:16Speaker 8: properly vetted. This is year eighty eight for us. Right,
- 44:18Speaker 8: We've been on you know that Kevin Show days. Yeah,
- 44:22Speaker 8: WMCA for for many many years. I mean, we get
- 44:25Speaker 8: the high marks where we need them. You deserve to
- 44:28Speaker 8: know that as a listener that's considering this investment. Right
- 44:32Speaker 8: Charity Navigator gives us the highest ratings. The Evangelical Council
- 44:35Speaker 8: for Financial Accountability gives us the highest ratings as well.
- 44:39Speaker 8: And again, Kevin, we've been able to come back year
- 44:42Speaker 8: after year and give you a return on investment report,
- 44:45Speaker 8: if you will. And it's one. It's the stories. It's
- 44:47Speaker 8: precious souls that have come to the Lord in places
- 44:51Speaker 8: again where it's difficult to live out your faith. And
- 44:53Speaker 8: a couple of numbers that I share These are statistics
- 44:56Speaker 8: that I think that really ought to stick in our minds.
- 44:58Speaker 8: Number one is what as many as nine of ten
- 45:00Speaker 8: new believers in the regions where we serve, Asia, Africa,
- 45:04Speaker 8: the Middle East, and Latin America, as many as nine
- 45:06Speaker 8: of ten new believers go without. Again, what's so basic
- 45:09Speaker 8: to the Christian faith? And that simply having a Bible right.
- 45:12Speaker 8: And we can tell you that with confidence. I can
- 45:15Speaker 8: tell you on the other end of that as what
- 45:16Speaker 8: this miracle multiplier? Kevin, I think you coined that phrase
- 45:20Speaker 8: for us, and that is on average, we can tell
- 45:22Speaker 8: you that a dozen people are impacted with every Bible
- 45:25Speaker 8: that hits the waiting hands of a heart hungry believer.
- 45:29Speaker 8: They're on fire for Jesus. The bush of Africa, maybe
- 45:33Speaker 8: it's the Andes Mountains, maybe it's near the Himalayan Mountains
- 45:36Speaker 8: in Nepal. But again, these are the areas where God
- 45:39Speaker 8: has called Bible League to serve, and we can tell
- 45:41Speaker 8: you with confidence, on average a dozen people impacted. Somebody
- 45:44Speaker 8: may say to a fellow believer, look, I've got a Bible, now,
- 45:48Speaker 8: let's read this together, let's grow as believers, or they
- 45:50Speaker 8: introduce others to the hope of the Gospel.
- 45:52Speaker 6: So again the math on this.
- 45:54Speaker 8: If you're thinking about our ultimate goal to bless just
- 45:56Speaker 8: north of ten thousand waiting believers, multiply that by twelve,
- 46:00Speaker 8: and again with confidence, we can tell you that maybe
- 46:03Speaker 8: one hundred and twenty thousand people will be impacted, and
- 46:07Speaker 8: it starts with a five dollars gift. But again, this
- 46:09Speaker 8: is not a campaign that'll go on forever. We'll wrap
- 46:11Speaker 8: up in the coming weeks. And again it is a
- 46:14Speaker 8: joy for us at Biblely to circle back to waiting
- 46:16Speaker 8: believers and let them know the Bibles you're praying for,
- 46:19Speaker 8: they're coming, They're on their way.
- 46:22Speaker 1: One eight hundred yes word, one eight hundred yees word.
- 46:26Speaker 1: There are people that are asking for them. Take us
- 46:29Speaker 1: to Africa.
- 46:30Speaker 8: Now, let me take you to Malawi, Africa, Kevin. As
- 46:32Speaker 8: I do that, let me think say thanks to Paul
- 46:34Speaker 8: of Breezy Point in New York. He said, I'm in
- 46:36Speaker 8: a one hundred dollars tax deductible gift for twenty bibles.
- 46:40Speaker 8: Debbie of Dunnellen, New Jersey said, Michael Kevin count me in.
- 46:44Speaker 8: I want to take care of putting Bibles into the
- 46:46Speaker 8: empty waiting hands of ten believers today and so again
- 46:50Speaker 8: an opportunity for me to come and just drill down,
- 46:53Speaker 8: give you a glimpse of what God is doing in
- 46:55Speaker 8: his world through his word. And I want to do that.
- 46:57Speaker 8: In the country of Malawi, Africa, Kevin Africa has the
- 47:01Speaker 8: highest number of refugees. These are people that are displaced
- 47:04Speaker 8: from their countries, likely to never return and they end
- 47:07Speaker 8: up in places like the Zalika refugee camp. This is
- 47:10Speaker 8: you in fund that I happen to see a documentary
- 47:13Speaker 8: on this not long ago, and they showed the chaos
- 47:16Speaker 8: that defines the Zalika refugee camp. There's about sixty thousand
- 47:19Speaker 8: people packed into a place that was really made to
- 47:22Speaker 8: accommodate about ten thousand. There's poor sanitation, people get sick,
- 47:27Speaker 8: they die, There's a terrible stench over this place. There's
- 47:30Speaker 8: people groups that absolutely hate each other, right, so, there
- 47:33Speaker 8: have been assaults, there have been murders. That is what
- 47:35Speaker 8: defines the Zlika refugee camp. But there were area churches.
- 47:39Speaker 8: They said, look, we've got to take the hope of
- 47:41Speaker 8: the Gospel into this place. They began to work with biblely,
- 47:44Speaker 8: we provided without charge Kevin Bible studies, weekly Bible studies,
- 47:48Speaker 8: and three prominent languages spoken in that camp. That would
- 47:51Speaker 8: be French, Karundi, and Swahili. And so these churches went in.
- 47:56Speaker 8: They formed about fifty Bible studies, some of those exclusive
- 47:59Speaker 8: to men, some exclusive to women. But I can tell you,
- 48:02Speaker 8: by the grace of God and the gumption of those
- 48:04Speaker 8: churches going into the messiness of the un funded Zalika
- 48:07Speaker 8: refugee camp, a thousand people have said yes to Jesus.
- 48:11Speaker 8: A thousand people have said yes to Jesus. Now, many
- 48:15Speaker 8: of those are like Mary and my colleague Nick, who
- 48:17Speaker 8: went in that camp, said Michael, He said, a lot
- 48:19Speaker 8: of these women their futures is terribly uncertain. Their husbands
- 48:24Speaker 8: have died, they've got kids, they don't have jobs. They
- 48:27Speaker 8: know they're not going back to their land. But he said,
- 48:30Speaker 8: they're hope filled as they come to Christ. But you've
- 48:33Speaker 8: got this audio clip from my colleague Nick and he
- 48:35Speaker 8: is in the Zalika refugee camp in Malawi, Africa.
- 48:38Speaker 17: Many of the people coming to the camp, many cases
- 48:41Speaker 17: these women whose husbands had been killed, were obviously coming
- 48:45Speaker 17: in the most desperate circumstances, wondering how they're going to
- 48:48Speaker 17: look after their families, feed their children, and really feeling
- 48:52Speaker 17: completely hopeless and homeless. But what we discovered is that
- 48:56Speaker 17: many of them, through the work that we've been able
- 48:59Speaker 17: to do there really finding hope. And some of them
- 49:01Speaker 17: were saying that that sort of lifelong aspiration now is
- 49:04Speaker 17: actually to stay in the camp as evangelists, to which
- 49:07Speaker 17: to me was.
- 49:07Speaker 6: Remarkable crazy Christians.
- 49:09Speaker 8: Right as Nick said, if the traffic was whizzing by there,
- 49:12Speaker 8: he said, you know, people make this mistake that they
- 49:15Speaker 8: are desperate. Mariam is one of those people, right, But
- 49:19Speaker 8: her husband died in that camp, leaving her a widow
- 49:21Speaker 8: with three children, ages three, five, and seven. But she's
- 49:24Speaker 8: a new believer, wants to raise those kids in the
- 49:26Speaker 8: ways of the Lord, praying for a Kurundi language Bible. Lord,
- 49:30Speaker 8: everything I have is yours, my time, my resources, and
- 49:33Speaker 8: I know you know, this listening family is characterized by
- 49:38Speaker 8: that latter group people that have said, not only do
- 49:40Speaker 8: I have a great concern where God has me planning,
- 49:42Speaker 8: but I'm able to look half world away to a
- 49:45Speaker 8: place like the Zilika refugee camp and provide Bibles for
- 49:49Speaker 8: the least of these. Kevin, It's why we're doing this
- 49:51Speaker 8: Kingdom business today.
- 49:52Speaker 1: One thousand Bibles needed for those that are doing the
- 49:55Speaker 1: studies in the Zulika camp. One thousand bibles. That means
- 49:59Speaker 1: one thousand pe people have come to faith. They need
- 50:02Speaker 1: to grow. If friends, if you had the ability to
- 50:05Speaker 1: do that in a one time gift, that's a five
- 50:07Speaker 1: thousand dollars one time gift, or maybe you need to
- 50:10Speaker 1: do it twice at twenty five hundred or one thousand
- 50:13Speaker 1: dollars a month for five months, whatever God puts upon
- 50:16Speaker 1: your heart. But that's the need in that refugee camp
- 50:21Speaker 1: that has sixty thousand people crammed into the space of
- 50:24Speaker 1: ten thousand, the need is a thousand Bibles. Would you
- 50:27Speaker 1: help us right now? One eight hundred yes word, one

- 50:55Speaker 6: He is from New York that Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 51:05Speaker 1: All right, welcome in, Kevin McCullough. Glad to have you
- 51:07Speaker 1: with us. And you know that now that we're on
- 51:10Speaker 1: four hundred outlets across the country, I love to take
- 51:15Speaker 1: a peek in and see what's going on in the
- 51:17Speaker 1: local churches across different areas. And so we've had lots
- 51:21Speaker 1: of shepherds on from lots of places across the US
- 51:24Speaker 1: this year, and one of them that we have not
- 51:26Speaker 1: had a chance to really speak to in depth is
- 51:29Speaker 1: one that it's one of the largest churches in the
- 51:31Speaker 1: entire country. It's right here in my backyard, and I
- 51:34Speaker 1: am so pleased to have a long, long standing relationship
- 51:38Speaker 1: with not only the current pastor, but his father who
- 51:41Speaker 1: preceded him. Pastor Jamal Bernard, joins me right now. His dad,
- 51:45Speaker 1: Doctor A. R. Bernard, may may be a name familiar
- 51:47Speaker 1: to many of you, not just in the New York area,
- 51:50Speaker 1: but Jamal, it's good to have you back with us.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Thanks for being here.
- 51:54Speaker 7: Ah Man, Thank you so much for being a found
- 51:56Speaker 7: army to be a part of this.
- 51:58Speaker 18: I'm excited and always appreciating our relationships with Thank you.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I appreciate it too. Jamal, and I think that when
- 52:05Speaker 1: we talk about the church in America today, I think
- 52:08Speaker 1: there's a lot of images that come to people's minds.
- 52:12Speaker 1: If you're from certain sections of the Flyover country, you
- 52:16Speaker 1: kind of picture a big suburb with large parking lot
- 52:19Speaker 1: and lots of ease getting to and from church. But
- 52:23Speaker 1: for people that are on the East Coast, sometimes churches
- 52:28Speaker 1: is a difficult thing to just make happen in your
- 52:31Speaker 1: life once a week, much less have a lot of
- 52:34Speaker 1: luxury and freedom with it. And one of the things
- 52:36Speaker 1: that I've always appreciated about the Christian cultural center, which
- 52:39Speaker 1: is the church that you pastor, is that you have
- 52:42Speaker 1: been intentional to reach specifically, not the entire universe of
- 52:48Speaker 1: everybody possible, but really the neighborhood's closest to your property.
- 52:52Speaker 1: And God has blessed that and grown that, and you
- 52:55Speaker 1: continue to change lives. And now you're coming back to
- 52:58Speaker 1: the airways with Salem. We'll talk about that in a second,
- 53:00Speaker 1: But it all starts with that local approach to the
- 53:04Speaker 1: people that you're in the middle of, doesn't it.
- 53:07Speaker 18: Yes, Yes, And I think that is you know, my
- 53:10Speaker 18: dad taught me this lesson years ago, and he says
- 53:14Speaker 18: you know, if your church closes down today, rule the
- 53:17Speaker 18: community that you believe God has placed you in issue.
- 53:22Speaker 18: And if the answer is no, then the question is
- 53:24Speaker 18: what are you doing with for the community. You're too
- 53:26Speaker 18: often we ac caught up in the four walls of
- 53:28Speaker 18: the church and it's like no this we're social engagement
- 53:31Speaker 18: organization as well social spiritual and so we didn't engage
- 53:35Speaker 18: the people well.
- 53:36Speaker 1: And one of the things that I always bring people
- 53:38Speaker 1: back to is how Jesus did it himself. You know
- 53:41Speaker 1: when he was feeding, when he was preaching to the
- 53:43Speaker 1: five thousand and he realized that they were hungry. Uh,
- 53:47Speaker 1: he didn't. He didn't say, shame on you for giving
- 53:50Speaker 1: into your physical need when when the most important thing
- 53:55Speaker 1: for you to do is be listening to your spiritual leader.
- 53:58Speaker 1: He actually said, no, get food and let's feed these people.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Like Jesus always held the physical need in truth to
- 54:07Speaker 1: what the spiritual need ultimately was.
- 54:09Speaker 18: Yep, yep, yep. And that's the thing I tell you.
- 54:12Speaker 18: Even with my missions group, I said, you know, people
- 54:17Speaker 18: are going to crush you, right, so you go down
- 54:18Speaker 18: a natural disaster and the first that you say, oh
- 54:22Speaker 18: Jesus loves you, you gotta you know, you gotta meet
- 54:24Speaker 18: Jesus right now. And the person's you know, child is lost,
- 54:27Speaker 18: buried under some rubble, and the ex question is gonna
- 54:30Speaker 18: be where was Jesus when this is happening? And so
- 54:32Speaker 18: you got to win people to yourself before you try
- 54:34Speaker 18: to win them to Christ.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think being a good ambassador and being
- 54:39Speaker 1: winsome and being the light. You know, we're just talking
- 54:44Speaker 1: this week and Psalm twenty seven on how do we live?
- 54:47Speaker 1: And the whole The Lord is my light and my salvation.
- 54:50Speaker 1: We as his agents, have the responsibility to continue to
- 54:55Speaker 1: be that light. And I hope that that's what we're
- 54:58Speaker 1: all thinking about these days. Hey, you've got a special
- 55:01Speaker 1: event coming up and it's for people far beyond the
- 55:04Speaker 1: reaches of the Christian Cultural Center Family Proper. It is
- 55:08Speaker 1: called the twenty twenty sixth Summit and it will be
- 55:11Speaker 1: held September sixteenth through the eighteenth. What's the summit all about?
- 55:17Speaker 1: What are you hoping to inspire people with? Achieve? What
- 55:21Speaker 1: do you want them? How do you want them you
- 55:23Speaker 1: know changed when they come? Who's it for? Just give
- 55:27Speaker 1: us the lowdown on what you're doing.
- 55:29Speaker 18: So the Summit came out of passions that I had
- 55:33Speaker 18: for seeing the local churches really and once again, I
- 55:38Speaker 18: think this question is what will the community say if
- 55:43Speaker 18: you had to close out today, right and they miss you?
- 55:46Speaker 18: And so my thing is, Okay, how can we help
- 55:48Speaker 18: these organizations? These churches have the greatest impact even based
- 55:53Speaker 18: on a capacity and in a context. And I said, man,
- 55:56Speaker 18: I take for granted, but I have access to so
- 55:59Speaker 18: much stuff because the size of our church. What can
- 56:01Speaker 18: I do to help give access to the local church
- 56:04Speaker 18: or you know, beyond. And so we are looking to
- 56:08Speaker 18: create an environment where if you have a team of singers,
- 56:15Speaker 18: if you've got individuals from a JAMA department, if you
- 56:17Speaker 18: got uh you know, from a leadership perspective, and not
- 56:21Speaker 18: necessary might have access to individuals like Henry Cloud, Israel
- 56:24Speaker 18: Hope and a Basic de Bron and a ar Bernard.
- 56:28Speaker 18: Then you know, we want to provide these elements to
- 56:32Speaker 18: you at the summit.
- 56:33Speaker 7: And so that's.
- 56:35Speaker 18: Where it really came out of passionate to get individuals
- 56:38Speaker 18: to have access to a different way of thinking, right,
- 56:42Speaker 18: because we only think to the level we're exposed to.
- 56:45Speaker 7: So how can I.
- 56:46Speaker 18: Help these churches and these leaders become exposed to more
- 56:49Speaker 18: and just shift they thinking and say, man, just that
- 56:51Speaker 18: shift is allowing me to have a greater impact in
- 56:54Speaker 18: the community.
- 56:54Speaker 7: God has called me the impact.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Yeah. And you know what I love about this because
- 56:59Speaker 1: I think that for far too long and I forget
- 57:02Speaker 1: who said it, but America has, even though we've on
- 57:06Speaker 1: a legal basis and on a social justice basis kind
- 57:09Speaker 1: of broken down the walls of segregation, it could still
- 57:13Speaker 1: be said for many, many years that the most segregated
- 57:16Speaker 1: time in America was ten am on a Sunday morning.
- 57:21Speaker 1: And what I'm encouraged by is that that is not
- 57:26Speaker 1: the case nearly as much as it was ten years ago,
- 57:28Speaker 1: twenty years ago, thirty years ago. And as churches are moving,
- 57:34Speaker 1: as people are moving, as people groups are moving, I
- 57:38Speaker 1: think it's incumbent upon every lead pastor Jamal to be
- 57:41Speaker 1: asking themselves the question what is my community made up of?
- 57:47Speaker 1: And who is there? And how do I best reach them?
- 57:50Speaker 1: And I'll just give you a personal story from our experience.
- 57:53Speaker 1: You know, we go to a church that has about
- 57:56Speaker 1: twenty nine hundred people and for services a week and
- 58:00Speaker 1: lots of you know, it would it would have been
- 58:03Speaker 1: kind of you know, noted that it was kind of
- 58:06Speaker 1: suburban and feel even though it was close to some
- 58:08Speaker 1: real urban areas. We would not we would not have
- 58:12Speaker 1: that and we would not be seeing that growth if
- 58:14Speaker 1: leadership wasn't saying what is the community made up of?
- 58:18Speaker 1: Who who's coming? What are their needs? How can we
- 58:21Speaker 1: best fit them? And I love the fact that you're
- 58:24Speaker 1: doing this. And look, doctor Cloud and doctor Bernard. I
- 58:28Speaker 1: mean I'd come just to hear the two of them speak.
- 58:31Speaker 1: So that's that's encouraging. And you're saying, this is a
- 58:35Speaker 1: three day gathering for leaders, creatives, worshipers, pastors and really
- 58:41Speaker 1: people of faith of all varieties. But really it is
- 58:44Speaker 1: it is a leadership summit, if you will.
- 58:47Speaker 7: Yes, it is a leadership summit.
- 58:49Speaker 18: And the idea because the other element of it, the
- 58:53Speaker 18: STOG tagline, is where legacy meets destiny, right, And so
- 58:57Speaker 18: we were seeing a big transition happening from you know,
- 59:01Speaker 18: for the and I think you're seeing that, you know,
- 59:03Speaker 18: for the next three years of individuals coming too, leadership
- 59:07Speaker 18: you have, you know, And so the question is legacies
- 59:11Speaker 18: should not compete with destiny, they should complement each other.
- 59:14Speaker 18: And so how do we look at these transitions and
- 59:16Speaker 18: how do we you know, you know, come to a
- 59:19Speaker 18: place where where we're passing the man, so doing it
- 59:22Speaker 18: right and not failing like we've seen in the past. Uh,
- 59:26Speaker 18: Tommy had a big shift in leadership in the church arena.
- 59:30Speaker 7: So that's a part of the idea as well.
- 59:32Speaker 18: So Okay, hey, look let's you know, let's learn we
- 59:34Speaker 18: we've learned some stuff. We want to share what we
- 59:36Speaker 18: learned in the transition. Not the best model, but it's
- 59:39Speaker 18: a model. Yeah, And so that's another element of it.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Well, and if people want more information, I just want
- 59:44Speaker 1: to give the website out because anybody can attend. It
- 59:48Speaker 1: is c c C info dot Church backslash Summit. C
- 59:53Speaker 1: CEC stands for Christian Cultural Center. If you're outside the
- 59:56Speaker 1: New York area, you may not be familiar with that name.
- 59:59Speaker 1: The Tri State is very familiar with Christian Cultural Center.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: But CCC info dot church backslash Summit gets you to
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: the where legacy meets the future. UH Summit September sixteenth
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: through the eighteenth, twenty twenty six and you can register

- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Center is coming back to the Salem airwaves. You're going
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: to start out in the New York market, but when
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: do you launch? And you know, are you excited about this?
- 1:00:30Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm so excited.
- 1:00:31Speaker 18: We're actually on now, well that's right, five thirty am
- 1:00:36Speaker 18: Monday to Friday, and we just we changed up a
- 1:00:39Speaker 18: little bit once again because my father's abdministering storry, so
- 1:00:43Speaker 18: you know, I'm not pushing.
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: Them out all the way.
- 1:00:45Speaker 18: But you're doing some you know, sermons with me, some
- 1:00:50Speaker 18: with him, and then we're also doing a podcast Friday,
- 1:00:53Speaker 18: so we're playing a certain podcasts throughout that.
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: Oh that's cool.
- 1:00:57Speaker 18: Wanting drive, Yeah, something difference. There's not always you know, minister,
- 1:01:00Speaker 18: minister ministry.
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: I mean I preacher, preacher, but I still always ministry.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Well cool, five thirty am New York time. And
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: you can listen to that nationwide at WMCA dot com.

- 1:01:22Speaker 18: Yeah, thank you for having me. It's always a pleasure.
- 1:01:24Speaker 18: And I'll be praying for you and your ministry.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I thank you, Jamal, appreciate that. All right, coming right
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: back from New York. We've got a big Friday still ahead,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: and stay with us.
- 1:01:33Speaker 14: Let's stick around for more of that. Kevin next here
- 1:01:55Speaker 14: he is from New York.
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: That Kevin.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: Kevin McCollough, welcome back.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: It is that Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot com where
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: you can get everything you need for the show, and
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: we never put it behind the paywall, so you can
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: always have it for free. The podcast, the columns, the newsletters,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: the radio shows, the TV shows, it's all there. My
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: social media, it's all there. It's in one place. We
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: did that to make it easy for you. But here's
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: the catch. I would also like you to take a
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: look at that banner at the top of the page
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: on the homepage and do what you can to help
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: put a Bible into the hands of a believer who
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: cannot get one though they desperately, desperately want one. And
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I'm not using that word lightly. Desperation has a certain
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: seriousness to it, a certain sobriety to it, and the
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: desperation is real. Michael Wilworth is back with us from
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: the Bible League. And something that we don't talk about,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Michael often in the West is how that every village
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: in these countries where Bible League has been working, some
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: of them for eighty nine years, they all want and
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: need a local church to help further and shepherd them
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: in terms of what they should be growing in spiritually.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: And that's another need that Bible League is helping to
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: accomplish through the project.
- 1:03:17Speaker 8: Philip, Yeah, and I want to address that. Before I
- 1:03:19Speaker 8: do that, let me just say thanks, Kevin. Some of
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: these wonderful listeners saying, look, we want to be a
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: part of this today. Kathleen Elizabeth, Colorado said, count me
- 1:03:27Speaker 8: in at seven bibles. Marie of Minneapolis, Minnesota said, I
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: want to be a part of this a one hundred
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: dollars tax deductible gift for twenty bibles. And then friends
- 1:03:36Speaker 8: in Shepherdsville, Kentucky said, we want to be a part
- 1:03:39Speaker 8: of this. Count us in at the one hundred and
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: fifty dollars level gift to put Bibles into the waiting
- 1:03:44Speaker 8: hands of thirty believers that we know by name at
- 1:03:47Speaker 8: Bible League. And Kevin, Yeah, we believe every country, every village,
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: every bustling city needs a want a thriving church to
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: be able to disciple people after introducing them to the
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: hope of Gospel, and then to be a beacon to
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: those around them. That's certainly true in the bush of Africa.
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: You know, every three and a half hours, somewhere in
- 1:04:07Speaker 8: the world, Bible League comes alongside a church planner, and
- 1:04:11Speaker 8: by the grace of God and through the gumption of
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: that church planner and fellow believers, there's a church planet.
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: And again, Bible League is there to provide resources to
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: help church planners grow their church to the glory of God.
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: Oftentimes they're provided without charge, and the reason is so
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: many of these churches exist in places where there's extreme poverty.
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: When you identify as a believer, you're often denied access
- 1:04:36Speaker 8: to services, to jobs, and so it's important that Bible
- 1:04:39Speaker 8: League is able to provide those programs without charge. And
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: that's where this listening family comes in again. For the
- 1:04:46Speaker 8: princely sum of only five dollars a Bible, you're able
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: to provide that precious word of God. Let me take
- 1:04:51Speaker 8: you to the continent of Africa. This is the part
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: of the world where Christianity is growing in the greatest numbers. Kevin,
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: you've got this audio clip. The young boy's name is Wendell.
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: His family all former animist. If you're an animist, you
- 1:05:03Speaker 8: believe what. There's spirits and places and things you pray
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: to dead relatives for blessings. Really, no inkling of what
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: Christianity is all about, no idea who Jesus is. But again,
- 1:05:13Speaker 8: God did something special that family. Windle is now part
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: of a local thriving church and he has this simple plea.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: My name is Wendelin.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: I live in Kenya.
- 1:05:24Speaker 19: After that, I learned a Bible versus Sunday school and
- 1:05:27Speaker 19: I want to learn more.
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: Please send me a Bible today.
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a simple plea from a young Wendell, ten
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: years of age, part of a Sunday school program. He's
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: growing in grace as a young believer. Kevin. Again, he's
- 1:05:39Speaker 8: praying not for our pity or our protections. He's praying
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: for one. It's the precious word of God. I want
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: to take you just a few miles from where he's
- 1:05:47Speaker 8: at in Kenya to the Massai tribe. Tell you about
- 1:05:50Speaker 8: a pastor by the name of William, an itinerant pastor.
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: This man will walk thirty one miles each way. But
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: who's at the end of those tracks that he makes well?
- 1:05:59Speaker 8: You people like Anya. Anya's story is this fourteen years
- 1:06:03Speaker 8: of age, forced into a marriage to an older man
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: she didn't know, she didn't love, subjected to again that
- 1:06:09Speaker 8: ritual that happens among the Masai tribe, the tallest ethnicity
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: in the world. By the way. The other thing is
- 1:06:15Speaker 8: a female circumcision. I won't get graphic about that other
- 1:06:18Speaker 8: than say it is painful, there's no known health benefits.
- 1:06:23Speaker 8: It's embarrassing. But again it's one of those traditions that
- 1:06:26Speaker 8: forced upon a young girls like Anya. William introduced Anya
- 1:06:30Speaker 8: to the hope of the Gospel. She became a believer,
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: But Kevin, the story is not in there. She would
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: gather about forty young women, all in that same situation,
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: forced to marry older men who didn't know them, who
- 1:06:42Speaker 8: didn't love them. I can tell you, by the grace
- 1:06:45Speaker 8: of God, they became believers. But Kevin, the story does
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: not in there. It expands those women have all leathered
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: husbands to Christ. That Pastor Williams said, Look, ladies, live
- 1:06:56Speaker 8: your lives to the glory of God before your husbands
- 1:06:59Speaker 8: and let's leave the up to God. I can tell
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: you again, by the grace of the Lord, those husbands
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: have all come to Christ. There's forty new couples that
- 1:07:08Speaker 8: want to live their lives to the glory of God. Now, Kevin,
- 1:07:10Speaker 8: the story expands beyond that. There's about two hundred families
- 1:07:14Speaker 8: among them a side tribe there in the Great Rift
- 1:07:17Speaker 8: Valley of Kenya, Africa, that have said yes to Jesus.
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: So again, this is what we're saying. God's at work
- 1:07:23Speaker 8: in his world.
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: Jesus said, if I be lifted up, I'll draw all
- 1:07:26Speaker 8: the nations to myself. We're seeing that happen again. These
- 1:07:29Speaker 8: are people that again don't live near a Christian bookstore.
- 1:07:32Speaker 8: There's no discount retailer, there's no Amazon dot Com to
- 1:07:36Speaker 8: drop a box of Bibles into their village. But listen,
- 1:07:39Speaker 8: we are praying that listeners to that Kevin show today
- 1:07:41Speaker 8: will catch a glimpse into what God is doing. And
- 1:07:43Speaker 8: a lot of these listeners, I just think, will say,
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: you know what, We've got to be a part of
- 1:07:48Speaker 8: this today.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: It's so important, friend, and you can make such a
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: big difference. Here's how you do it. One eight hundred
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: yes word one eight hundred yees word, one eight hundred
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: yes word, one eight hundred yes word, or give it online.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: It's efficient, it's timely, it's secure. That kevinshow dot com.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Click the Bible League banner at the top of the
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: page that kevinshow dot Com. Click the Bible League banner
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: at the top of the page that kevinshow dot Com.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: And for every one of you in every location that
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: have given a Bible or more over the last couple
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: of weeks, thank you. They're coming in as far away
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: as you know, Arizona and Illinois and Washington State and
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Florida and Hawaii and so forth. You have responded to
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: what God has prompted on your heart. That's the most
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: important thing, So thank you for doing that.
- 1:08:38Speaker 16: Kevin McCollough coming right.
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: Here.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: He is from New York, That Kevin.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Kevin mccollor, all right, welcome back. It's the Friday edition
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: of That Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot Com. Where one
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: week ago I was just wrapping up some vacation time
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: and my next guest was actually sitting here behind the
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: That Kevin Show microphone doing the doing the thing. Bethany
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Mandel welcome back. Always good to talk to you on Fridays.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Thank you, it was such a fun way to spend
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: my Friday with your listeners.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: I am well. I appreciated the fact that you brought
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: a lot of humor to end the week, which is
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: one of the things that Tanika is always telling me,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: you got to make Friday more fun. So it's like, well,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: we're going to try. Hey, I'm puzzled by a couple
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: of things. And I know that you're kind of a
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: politics chunkie and you kind of you watch different probably
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: factors than I do, but I want to get your
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: thoughts on this. I would normally say that with a
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: war going on, that the president, you know, kind of
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: ran against having wars, gas prices hovering in the under
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: four dollar range nationwide, there's a lot of reasons to
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: be very pessimistic about Republican chances in the fall, and
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: I would go to the bank on that almost any
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: given year where the circumstances are kind of the way
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: they are. However, I keep seeing these crazy nut job
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: people winning democratic primaries in place after place after place,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: and it's kind of unfair how the media reports it,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: because they're all like, oh, look at this landslide by
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: this Democratic socialist well and at primary where they had
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: twenty three percent turnout, and you know they they got
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: more than half of that, so they did well and
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: whatever the primary turnout was. But I've got a feeling
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: that there's a lot of middle ground, independent, common sense
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: type of people that are not super thrilled with the
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: options that the Democrats are putting forward for this fall.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: So how are you feeling about, like, well, like the
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Senate race in Michigan or some of the some of
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: the Congress races where you've got like this l sied
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: guy literally wants to kill all Jews under three years
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: of age. We're not that lost yet, are we?
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean I don't know. So I think that
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: you're right, and the Trump administration and sort of the
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: Team Trump are have their finger on that pulse. They
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: tweeted a meme yesterday with Smokey the Bear, only you
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: can prevent socialism, Vote Republican in November. I think that
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: that is probably messaging that has has landed really well
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: for them, and that's where they decided to go.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: And doesn't every political advisor for every candidate have have
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: stuff lined up to unleash like literal rhetorical hell against
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: these guys because they've said some really horrible things.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, And I think honestly, the message that lands
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: the best with these characters. And I say this as
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: a Jew is not to talk about Jews, because people,
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: I think in the middle of America who never meta
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Jew will say, I don't I don't care if he
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: hates Jews.
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: Like.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: That doesn't affect my life. But when you start talking
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: about the fact that like they want to do things
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: like abolish the Senate and ambolish the Supreme Court, and
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: like when when they act, when you actually list out
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: what their plans are, people are like, whoa, wait a second,
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: that sounds bonkers because it is in fact bonkers. And
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: so I think the more that we can get their
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: message out there, the better, Like let's volunteer to like
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: turn over the airway. It's on Fox News, which is
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: something by the way that Fox has done. They've had
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: DSA members on Shannon Breems show and on the on
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: the daytime shows with Dana Perino.
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: They bring on.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: DSA people and they're like, tell us what you want,
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: and that.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Is so damnage and just let them talk. Yes, because
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: they'll say it all. I mean, they're they're not afraid to.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: So here's the other thing. I mean, I'm looking at
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: Texas for example, and I'm thinking James Tallerico's he's a
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: hot mess. He looks almost normal compared to some of
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: these people. Yeah, and that's how bad it is. Because
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I think that Ken Paxton is not the best candidate
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: the Republicans could have put forward, but I think he's
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: got a pretty good shot of keeping corn and seat.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: But tall Rico's crazy and he looks sane compared to
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: what are literally like, like, I don't know, I would
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: have to say that these are people that support the
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: nine to eleven terrorists in some.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: Cases, I mean there's one where it's absolutely not hyperbole
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: or reaching to say that, because Adam Hamawi in New Jersey,
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: who likely will become elected, and you know, Representative Mike
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: Lawler has said like he shouldn't serve on intelligence committees.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: He testified on behalf of the Blind Chic. So it's
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: not at all hyperbole to say these people support jihad
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: because they're very open about that fact.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Actually, yeah, if we can get some degree of election
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: integrity passed, and I don't know if you saw what
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: James Carvel said a couple of weeks ago, just before
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: I went on vacation, But he was like election integrity.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: To oppose that just makes the Democrats look scared of
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: telling the truth. Just pass it, Just just get it passed.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Just let it pass. Seventy five percent of us want it,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: eighty percent of the Independence won it, ninety percent of
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Republicans want it. All right, pass it?
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean in Carville also, I mean there's a
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: lot of these moderate Democrats who I think, you know,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: represent a large majority of moderate Democrats nationwide, like Carville,
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: like John Fetterville, maher Or, Pennsylvania and.
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: Almar Yeah, who they say.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: By the way, I interviewed John Fetterman on stage in
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: front of a thousand Jewish students this week, and every
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: time I asked him, because it was like a fireside shot,
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: I asked him, like what is going on?
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: He's like, I'm going to leave. I'm going to leave.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: I'm going to leave like you are. You're not sounding
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: really keen on your party. But this is this is
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: what all of these moderate Dems are saying, Like this
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: if the party, if my party becomes this, I'm out yeah,
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: and I you know, I see it, I feel it.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Lizzie Savetsky, who is not someone that I necessarily endorse
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: or don't endorse. She's controversial, but I do see some
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: of those things that she puts on social media. This
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: last week had a clip of Chuck Schumer from a
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: few years ago saying that he would always fight on
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: behalf of Israel and he was always going to fight
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: on behalf of the Jewish people. And after El sayed
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: one in Michigan this week, he calls him and I
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: guess they have a phone call a tape of the
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: phone call, because he said to him, We're going to
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: do everything we can to help you get elected. This
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: is this is a guy who directly opposes Chuck Schumer's
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: very own promises and pledges that he made.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: Yep, yep.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: I mean, this is a guy who thinks that the
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: Iron Dome shouldn't exist, a defensive mechanism that protects not
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: just Israelis, but American citizens living and visiting Israel.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Yeah, really really stunning stuff. Well, it's gonna be something
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: to keep our eye on. But I I am I'm
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: torn as to like how to think about November, because
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: I do think that if you know, if the war
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: goes well, Republicans can recover on some on some talking
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: points that maybe they're vulnerable on right now. But even
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: with those vulnerabilities, these these these guys at the other
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: side's putting forward. We just can't turn our country over
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: to them. We just sweeping, all right, Bethany. I always
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: appreciate you. Have a great weekend, you too. Kevin McCullough
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: coming back. It's the Friday Show. Stay here, let's stick around.
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: For more of that.
- 1:16:35Speaker 20: Kevin next, serving it up. That's a no drink mittal.
- 1:16:53Speaker 20: It's that Kevin Show.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Welcome back, Kevin McCullough. Lad to if you with us.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: We're talking about getting Bibles to those who need them
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: all over the world, Michael Woolworth, and we mean it
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: like every corner of the globe.
- 1:17:09Speaker 8: Well, that's where God has called us to serve at
- 1:17:11Speaker 8: biblely nearly ninety years young if you will, and again
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: you mentioned some of the numbers earlier. I'm a little
- 1:17:17Speaker 8: hesitant to do that. I think our eyes gloss over.
- 1:17:19Speaker 8: But the bottom line is this, we all pray that
- 1:17:21Speaker 8: the Gospel would take grip all over the world, even
- 1:17:24Speaker 8: in places like the Middle East right, and we're here
- 1:17:27Speaker 8: to tell tell you what. We're taking just a little
- 1:17:29Speaker 8: bit of a break from the the daily headlines to
- 1:17:31Speaker 8: remind you that God truly is at work and again
- 1:17:34Speaker 8: that's happening all over the world. I want to end
- 1:17:36Speaker 8: our time together in the Middle East, Kevin. I've said
- 1:17:39Speaker 8: this before. I don't come as I'm not a geopolitical scientist.
- 1:17:42Speaker 8: I don't study all the dynamics that define places like
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: the Middle East. That's known what millennia of what conflict, pain,
- 1:17:50Speaker 8: suffering and loss. But as we see the hope of
- 1:17:52Speaker 8: the Gospel applied to lives there again, we see people
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: totally transformed. And that's true in the life of a
- 1:17:58Speaker 8: woman by the name of Nora. What's her story. Well,
- 1:18:00Speaker 8: it was just about a year ago her husband was
- 1:18:03Speaker 8: murdered by radicals in that part of the world, leaving
- 1:18:06Speaker 8: her a widow with four young daughters. It wasn't too
- 1:18:09Speaker 8: long ago another group of radicals showed up, Kevin. They
- 1:18:12Speaker 8: destroyed her home, everything that she had lost in that fire.
- 1:18:17Speaker 8: Her youngest daughter, about four years of age, maimed for
- 1:18:20Speaker 8: life with very serious burns all over her body. That's
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: the tragedies that Nora has gone through they rather than
- 1:18:27Speaker 8: grow a bitter through all of that, this woman, a
- 1:18:29Speaker 8: former Sunni Moslim, has grown what bold She is trained
- 1:18:32Speaker 8: by Bible League to share Christ with others. She would
- 1:18:35Speaker 8: gather about fifty Arabic speaking women week by week to
- 1:18:38Speaker 8: go through this study from Bible League. You've heard us
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: talk about this. We call it Project Philip. We're simply
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: putting a name in a face to really our global strategy,
- 1:18:47Speaker 8: and that is to what trained people like Nora to
- 1:18:50Speaker 8: invite people to come learn about Jesus. Often that's one
- 1:18:52Speaker 8: on one that it becomes a group study, maybe ten,
- 1:18:55Speaker 8: twenty thirty people will gather. And for the case of Nora,
- 1:18:59Speaker 8: she let two or three of those studies against all
- 1:19:02Speaker 8: Arabic speaking women, A lot of those in the same
- 1:19:04Speaker 8: situation widowed, raising large families.
- 1:19:07Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:19:07Speaker 8: But I can tell you today, by the grace of
- 1:19:09Speaker 8: God and through the gumption of this woman Nora, fifty
- 1:19:12Speaker 8: Arabic speaking women with families, a lot of large families,
- 1:19:16Speaker 8: about six hundred adults and kids represented there have all
- 1:19:20Speaker 8: said yes to Jesus and a part of the world
- 1:19:22Speaker 8: that they will now be defined as what infidels. They've
- 1:19:26Speaker 8: left the religion that define their lives. They're now followers
- 1:19:29Speaker 8: of Jesus. But my colleague Nirvana, they're in that part
- 1:19:32Speaker 8: of the world. Has this to say about women like Nora,
- 1:19:35Speaker 8: who often looked at as second class citizens. When they
- 1:19:41Speaker 8: become believers, Kevin, they see they have infinite worth in
- 1:19:45Speaker 8: the Lord.
- 1:19:46Speaker 19: Men think women are too marry a young age, and
- 1:19:49Speaker 19: they are not supposed to get educated or even to
- 1:19:53Speaker 19: be treated the same level as men. When I see
- 1:19:56Speaker 19: the ladies that are very happy that they can read
- 1:20:00Speaker 19: the world of Jesus and write the name of Jesus
- 1:20:03Speaker 19: for the first time, I saw lives of women changed
- 1:20:07Speaker 19: after they started to read and write, and how they
- 1:20:12Speaker 19: regained their confidence in themselves, and how they could feel
- 1:20:18Speaker 19: that they now have value and they can function in
- 1:20:22Speaker 19: the society. As you said, how they can feel that
- 1:20:25Speaker 19: they are valuable in God's eyes.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: If you want to take a measure of human rights
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: around the globe, and you want to take a measure
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: of how women are treated around the globe, you will
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: find that the greater the biblical literacy of the population,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: the more respect the more equality, the more confidence the
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: culture has in terms of the women that it serves
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: and the Bible League is right on the cutting edge
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: of that. Getting the Bible into the hands of people
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: that do not believe in eternal things or even in
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: just things, can change when they come into contact with Jesus'
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: words and Jesus's life and his example. We need your help.
