- 0:56Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed.
- 0:58Sean McAllister: Thanks so much for joining us this week on episode 273.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: I'm Sean McAllister, along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we've got a little storm warning as we sit here and record.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: It's exciting.
- 1:08Dayna Roselli: It's been humid for two days.
- 1:10Sean McAllister: It has been.
- 1:10Sean McAllister: And this is kind of a hopefully a preview of what's to come for monsoon season this year.
- 1:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: It'll be interesting to see.
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: One year we didn't have like nothing.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: Anything.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: And then the next we had a lot.
- 1:22Dayna Roselli: So it'll it'll be interesting.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: I mean, I can't believe it only like June just started.
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: It feels like it's been a long summer already.
- 1:29Sean McAllister: It feels like we're well, it's because we're planning so far in advance.
- 1:33Sean McAllister: Like we're already thinking July, and we haven't even we've barely scratched the surface of June.
- 1:38Sean McAllister: So we still have all these days to get through.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:41Dayna Roselli: Hey, the big headline um for over the last, I guess, couple weeks has been that, you know, April numbers came out for visitation and tourism, and Las Vegas is down year to year compared to April of last year, and everyone's buzzing about it.
- 1:54Dayna Roselli: Convention actually was uh convention business was actually slightly up.
- 1:58Dayna Roselli: But um, it's just been such a hot topic uh lately that some national news organizations are doing stories on it.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: And we figured, you know, we did talk about this about two weeks ago, but maybe we should talk about it again.
- 2:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there are a lot of factors that are contributing to a dip in travel right now.
- 2:17Sean McAllister: Um, the uh political uh environment right now, uh the uneasiness about uh the economy, and you know, there's uh international travelers who are holding off on coming to the United States, specifically Las Vegas.
- 2:36Sean McAllister: Um, and so all of these things together, plus there are people, as you will see if you scroll through social media, who are just nonstop complaining about the high prices in Las Vegas.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and people are trying to save money or hold their money, you know, close to their hip just because you don't know what's gonna happen and uh that kind of thing.
- 2:56Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, I don't know.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: It could be, I think it's like a combination of all of that, obviously, like you said, but um I don't know, it's really hard to pinpoint.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: Like at this point, I kind of feel like it's hit or miss, right?
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: Like we have busy days, busy weekends, busy uh long weekends, busy weeks if we have a big convention in town.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's hard to say because I think both you and I have noted that I I've gone out many, many times on the strip and it's pretty busy to me from what I can see.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: Now, I will admit I hang out in the north end of the strip.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: Why?
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: Because I live close to that area.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: So what's at the north end of the strip?
- 3:39Dayna Roselli: A lot of more luxury hotels.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: Um, and who stays at luxury hotels?
- 3:45Dayna Roselli: Maybe people who have money already so and aren't as worried about being nickel and dimed.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: And so maybe that's why those hotels are are seem fuller to me.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: I'm just thinking out loud that that's not the answer, that's not right, wrong.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: I don't have statistics or facts or any of that.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, it very well could be.
- 4:05Sean McAllister: I was actually talking with some uh friends within the last week or so who work at casinos, whether you know it's at restaurants or uh in other positions at properties down on the strip.
- 4:21Sean McAllister: Um, and they were saying that they just are seeing dips.
- 4:26Sean McAllister: They see waves of busy times, and then it's a wave of quiet.
- 4:32Sean McAllister: And then all of a sudden the floodgates open again, and there's a ton of people, you know, there for business.
- 4:39Sean McAllister: So I I think that's made it difficult for uh to plan ahead for staffing, yeah, certainly, because you can't really anticipate when those waves and dips are coming.
- 4:51Sean McAllister: Um but it's not a situation where people just aren't coming here anymore.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: We still have uh visitors.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we do, we do have a lot of visitors actually.
- 5:03Sean McAllister: I just got back from a trip a couple days ago.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: Uh came back on a Sunday uh late afternoon, and the airport was packed.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: Absolutely packed.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, well, that's good.
- 5:16Sean McAllister: It was, yeah, great.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: It was nice to see.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, you know, nobody likes a packed airport when it's you that has to travel, but I guess it's good for the city.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 5:26Sean McAllister: And I was coming home, so I was like, okay.
- 5:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, like whatever.
- 5:29Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, it really is just hit or miss.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: And so, I mean, uh, I feel like so many people have asked that question, and it's like, I don't know, it just depends, you know.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: Like I said, I did the staycation recently at the Fountain Blue, it was busy.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: I went to a restaurant opening the other night at the win, walked in my whole walk to the restaurant.
- 5:46Dayna Roselli: It seemed pretty crowded.
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: People crossing ways, sportsbook looked busy, all of it.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: So, like, I don't, I don't know.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: Um, so I think it depends.
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: And then you'll see on social media, I think somebody posted the line at the Flamingo check-in desk the other day, and it was long and wrapped around.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: So, okay, well, that's a middle-of-the-road hotel or a you know, more budget, and that looked busy.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: There could have been other reason.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: So it kind of depends.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: You know, it's hard because you see things, you see videos, you hear stories, and the real numbers came in, and we know that travel and tourism is down a little bit compared to last year.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: That's where we're at.
- 6:23SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: And we'll have to pay attention to see if the trend continues.
- 6:26Dayna Roselli: However, here's what always happens when we do see dips.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: It's beneficial, obviously, to the consumer.
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: And we're already starting to see that happen.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: And I think most people now saying, well, if this is happening now, like let's just keep it this way.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: That would be the good thing to do.
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: And we're talking about, you know, some properties letting up on the parking fees, resorts world just drop parking fees.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: They didn't really even have parking fees for that long.
- 6:51Dayna Roselli: They were free for a while, and then locals parking, but then they went, you know, full on, and it's like, well, what?
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: You know, so now they've lifted that.
- 6:59Dayna Roselli: And everyone's saying kudos, you know, everyone, you know, keep following along.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: And you know, there's places like Fountain Blue, and it's like I think three or four free hours for locals and stuff like that.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: But also, if you like shop in the Fountain Blue, if you eat in the Fountain Blue, if you do anything in the Fountain Blue, you can get your You get validated.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: Validated.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, ticket valid.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: So it's almost like it's free anyway.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Um, so uh everyone has their own thing, you know?
- 7:24Sean McAllister: And in addition to the parking deals, there's hotel deals that we're starting to see roll out.
- 7:30Sean McAllister: I just uh had an ad pop up while I was scrolling through Instagram for uh Win.
- 7:35Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 7:36Sean McAllister: They had I think it was uh 25% off of a hotel stay plus a$75 room credit.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: I don't know if that's uh that offer is still valid as you're listening to this episode right now, but as I was scrolling through Instagram, that is one of the things that just recently popped up.
- 7:55Sean McAllister: And I expect that other properties are going to follow suit.
- 7:59Sean McAllister: And if there is a dip in visitation, a dip in uh room occupancy, they are going to start rolling things out to try and lure people in.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: For sure.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: That's just how business works.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: Well, and it's interesting because I saw one conversation on uh Twitter that somebody was responding to a story where things would cost more and this and that, and somebody was saying, Oh, I don't come to Vegas anymore because it's just ridiculous because it's so expensive.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: But this one guy was like, I mean, you have to shop around and you have to plan travel and be wise about it.
- 8:34Dayna Roselli: He's like, I mean, I'm staying at blah, blah, blah resort on the strip for one full week for three$366 total, and I'm using my$200 slot credit reward.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: I'm doing this, this, and that.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: And then I got this deal on the airline.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: And so, like, you know, it's just not a click away anymore.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: You need to do maybe a little bit more research, you need to get creative and you can find ways, find different ways to get deals and discounts.
- 9:00Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 9:01Sean McAllister: Well, and it's like what uh we talked about what was it last week um when you uh had the the deal at RPM.
- 9:08Sean McAllister: Right.
- 9:09Sean McAllister: You know, where there are good lunch and happy hour deals out there at really nice restaurants, but you have to look for that kind of stuff.
- 9:19Sean McAllister: You have to find that.
- 9:20Sean McAllister: And you know, there are other places where you can get good meals, good drink prices.
- 9:27Sean McAllister: Uh but you do.
- 9:28Sean McAllister: You have to do the research, you have to put in the work to find those spots.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: No, you do.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: So we'll keep our you know eyes uh open, our ears listening and let you know whatever else we hear.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: And if you have something that you want to contribute, you can text us.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: We have our uh text link right in our show notes.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: It texts us, uh, does not give us your phone number.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: You have to write your name and your your where you're from.
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: It only gives the last four digits of a phone number.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: So we can't text you back, but we'll answer on the the following week's podcast if we can.
- 10:00Sean McAllister: And hey, over at Win Las Vegas, they just opened up their new Mediterranean seafood restaurant.
- 10:07Sean McAllister: Uh, we've mentioned it here before.
- 10:08Sean McAllister: It's called Pisces.
- 10:10Sean McAllister: And Dana, you just stopped into the grand opening.
- 10:12Sean McAllister: It looked beautiful.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: Yes, the restaurant had been open for just a little bit, but they finally had the grand opening party.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: So if you were like, wait, it didn't just open, I've eaten there.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: Yes, it has been open.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: But this party was fabulous, let me tell you.
- 10:24Sean McAllister: It looked it.
- 10:25Dayna Roselli: Ugh, because it was like seafood galore and like meat and open bar and these spicy margaritas and all sorts of stuff.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: So it was delicious.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: Little desserts going around.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: They had Dubai chocolate that you could try.
- 10:38Dayna Roselli: Oh my friend Brian was very excited to try the Dubai chocolate.
- 10:42Sean McAllister: How on trend.
- 10:43Dayna Roselli: I know, right?
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: Um, it's a beautiful restaurant.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: The blues, the golds.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: Listen, Lakeside was nice too.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: This replaced Lakeside, which Lakeside had been open for years and years.
- 10:52Dayna Roselli: It's just such a fabulous spot.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: It looks right out to the lake of dreams.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: And you can't beat it.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: But this, I don't know, I like this better.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: I like it better than Lakeside.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: The look of it.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: It's kind of more my thing.
- 11:03Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, really beautiful.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: Out on the patio, um, I noticed over to the left, like right in front of kind of the aft cocktail patio area.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: So there's there's SW Steakhouse that sits on the lake, then aft in the middle, then Pisces.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: Well, kind of toward aft, I saw this like little kind of little area that kind of goes and sits over the water.
- 11:27Dayna Roselli: It extends out here from the normal, right, from the normal patio seating.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: And I thought, huh, what is the deal with this?
- 11:34Dayna Roselli: So we did quickly ask before the podcast because I thought I wonder if people can book that area.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: There was like a little couch area, there were some high top chairs, and they did say, yes, that is bookable over at Pisces.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: So we need to find out more about that.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: But could be a good little spot for a little cocktail party, get friends together.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: Um, assuming you can order food out there, I'm not sure, but it was a really cool addition.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Another thing I wanted to mention, um, first of all, uh folks from the wind spoke there.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: The cocktail program was great.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: They talked a lot about the design.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: But uh, you and I were saying, I was telling you a story how I went back to where I live and I live in a high-rise, and the front desk people they were asking me about, oh, what'd you do tonight?
- 12:18Dayna Roselli: Because they always do, they always like to know.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh, I was here in this beautiful restaurant, it's right on the water.
- 12:23Dayna Roselli: They're like, wait, what are you talking about?
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: The water, they didn't even know the lake of dreams existed in the wind, and we talk about this all the time.
- 12:29Dayna Roselli: It's just because we're out and about and doing things that we know, and a lot of people don't know the lake of dreams is there, and it's like this like gem.
- 12:40Sean McAllister: We are asked all of the time the people say, Oh, it's my first time coming to Vegas.
- 12:47Sean McAllister: What do I need to do?
- 12:49Sean McAllister: Well, guess what?
- 12:50Sean McAllister: Lake of Dreams is on that list of must do things.
- 12:55Sean McAllister: You've gotta go there to get some appetizers, grab a cocktail, uh just go out and hang out there, especially at that aft bed lounge.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, cocktail.
- 13:08Sean McAllister: Great patio.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: Little snacks they put out on the table for you.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: I don't think they have a food menu.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: They might now, very little light bites.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: Um but they always put out great little snacks.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: Yes, little bar snacks.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, little bar snacks.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: And remember, like last time when I went there, I think you and I had this conversation worth repeating, because people go, well, now it's summer.
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: I'm not sitting out on the patio, like in the day.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: But when I was there, I felt like this cool breeze.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: I don't know if they've got it like under your feet or the way they have the system going there, but they actually kind of cool it.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: It's like it's it's like you're outside, but you feel like bursts of coolness every now and then.
- 13:45Sean McAllister: It does feel like there's air conditioning out there.
- 13:48Sean McAllister: Something as much as the outdoors can be air conditioned, they do it there.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 13:54Dayna Roselli: So um, by the way, just did get a note again because I kept asking um the publicist uh that was in charge of the Pisces account that was sending us some pictures and stuff, um, more and more about this little floating area, the pier area.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: Um, and she said she does not believe there's a fee to book out there.
- 14:13Sean McAllister: Okay, so it's first come, first serve.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: So call and ask, basically.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: You learned about it from us, but call and ask.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: But it it definitely is appealing because it looks really cool.
- 14:22Sean McAllister: It absolutely is.
- 14:23Sean McAllister: And what a a great way to have a great meal sitting out there over the water.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Drinks or whatever.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: Shrimp.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: I love shrimp.
- 14:34Sean McAllister: So Pisces over at Wynn, now open gorgeous new restaurant, and uh put Lake of Dreams on your to-do list for your next Vegas visit.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, shows out there, everything.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: And everyone of all ages, besides, you know, under 21, love it.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Like, you know, I feel like my mom loves it.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 14:55Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you love it.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: You're younger than me.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: See, all ages.
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: So we got the the the low 40s, the high 40s, the 80.
- 15:07Dayna Roselli: The 80s, and uh lots of other oh, my friend who's in his 50s loves it.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: So yeah.
- 15:13Dayna Roselli: Um, oh, my friend that's in her 30s, she loves it too.
- 15:15Dayna Roselli: So yeah, every age is gonna love it above 21.
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: Um, but you did the night before go to Kenny Chesney at Sphere, and what happened?
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: So it was a big surprise.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: It was.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: So uh my buddy Mark, he was like, Hey, I have uh another ticket to Kenny tonight.
- 15:30Sean McAllister: Do you want to come with me?
- 15:31Sean McAllister: I said, Yeah, absolutely.
- 15:33Sean McAllister: So uh we went to Kenny Chesney over at Sphere, and first of all, that show is so much fun, it's just happy party vibes the entire time, which is like kind of Kenny Chesney's whole thing, like good times on the beach, on the boat, on his private island in the Caribbean.
- 15:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 15:53Sean McAllister: Um so that was fun.
- 15:55Sean McAllister: But then uh he has a new actually uh Megan Moroney, who's a rising country star, she is just like astronomically shooting up through the the country scene right now.
- 16:07Sean McAllister: She has a new song that features Kenny Chesney.
- 16:11Sean McAllister: Oh and he brought her out on stage and they performed that song together, their first time singing it live.
- 16:19Sean McAllister: And so that was just a really cool moment.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: Turns out they told a story about how the song came to be.
- 16:26Sean McAllister: So Megan opened for Kenny Chesney on his uh last tour, and so they became friends.
- 16:33Sean McAllister: She wrote a song about the experience of you know, touring, performing with Kenny, flew down to his private island with her team, played the song for him, loved it, and so now they recorded the song.
- 16:47Sean McAllister: And it's out, it's a cool video.
- 16:49Dayna Roselli: That's fun.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, she's yeah, I have like uh friends that have kids that love her, they're going to the concert, I don't know where, but somewhere near Rochester, New York, on like June 12th.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: And I hadn't heard of her before, and I was like, What where have I been?
- 17:01Dayna Roselli: And then she was at the American Music Awards, and that's another great thing about having these award shows in Las Vegas, because while those stars are in town, they pop into their friend shows.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: Yes, right?
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: So uh that was really cool that that happened.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: And people were asking us, like, why aren't you playing the whole song when we posted it on YouTube and stuff?
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, Well, there's copyright, you can't just sometimes post the whole song.
- 17:21Dayna Roselli: Uh, but we did put a little bit of it on TikTok if you put a little bit of it in that moment, yeah.
- 17:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, so you can go and watch that.
- 17:27Sean McAllister: Um, but it was a really cool moment there with Kenny Chesney.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: Um and it's your first time seeing a concert live.
- 17:33Dayna Roselli: You've seen the YouTube film, you've seen Postcard from Earth.
- 17:36Sean McAllister: Right.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: We've been to the Google convention in there, but you had not seen a live concert in there yet.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: So what did you think?
- 17:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, I thought it was phenomenal.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:47Sean McAllister: It was phenomenal.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: Just to Did you like the experience better than if you were to be at a show in a theater or just different?
- 17:56Sean McAllister: I did.
- 17:56Sean McAllister: I mean, it's almost like the sphere almost uh ruins all other concert experiences.
- 18:03Sean McAllister: It doesn't ruin it, but there's nothing that even comes close to comparing to to watching a concert uh inside of sphere.
- 18:12Sean McAllister: Because you get like an extra added uh because you're taken to a whole different uh place.
- 18:18Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 18:18Sean McAllister: I mean, at one point they turned the screen inside of Sphere into like you're sitting in the like living room bar area of Kenny's uh down at Kenny's private island, like looking out at the water and the beach out there.
- 18:38Sean McAllister: It was just it was great.
- 18:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's takes you to a place visually that you know the artist uh the artist music compliments.
- 18:50Sean McAllister: So it's it's great.
- 18:52Sean McAllister: Yes, I loved it.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a very cool experience.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: It is it's like going to an attraction, but also being at a show watching, well, usually if you're going, it's one of your the artists that you like or love or you're a huge fan, or or you just like their music and you're going to check them out, whatever that might be.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: So you kind of get two things in one.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: And yeah, it's it's pretty fun.
- 19:15Sean McAllister: Beyond compare, it really is.
- 19:17Sean McAllister: And if you have a chance to go and see uh any artist coming up at Sphere, whether it's Kenny or Backstreet Boys, I'm kind of ex- I just I started looking up Backstreet Boys tickets the other day because I was like, I kind of might need to be their opening night.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: Because I, you know, like we've seen them live before.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: It's not even like I sit around and listen to Backstreet Boys all the time, right?
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: But their songs are just so good.
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: And whenever we've seen them, you know, they had a residency here in the past, I'm like, man, they do have good songs.
- 19:48Dayna Roselli: It put you in a good mood.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: They have fun doing it.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: And then I was just thinking, I might need to be at Sphere Opening Night.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: And I was like, all right, what day?
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: July.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: So yeah, that's gonna be good.
- 19:58Sean McAllister: I think we might need to do that, put it on the company card.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: We might need to do that.
- 20:04Sean McAllister: And then talk about it on the podcast and the TV show.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: Well, we did talk to Nikki Glacier about the sphere because we ran into her at the American Music Award.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: She has a show at the Venetian with David Spade.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: I've seen it, very funny.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: She's blown up with, you know, she was the at the Tom Brady roast.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: She won everyone over with that.
- 20:23Dayna Roselli: Very smart jokes, very witty.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: And then she hosted the Golden Globes.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: So we ran into her, and I had to ask her a little bit about Vegas, and she also brought up the sphere.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Are you enjoying doing Vegas here?
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I love Vegas.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: It's just like everything is just outside your door.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: There's tons of people.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: It feels like kind of New York City in terms of like how crowded it is.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: But everything is air conditioned, it's nice, and um, and the shows are so fun because I'm doing them with my friend David Spain.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: And usually I do shows alone, so when I get to like go on stage, perform, and then I get to go watch my favorite comedian perform.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: And it's so fun.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Do you think Vegas is a town?
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Like, I mean, there has to be a lot of jokes here.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Like you see.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, there's it's just like whatever's happening at the sphere is kind of taking over the town.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm I'm usually here during, you know, when the dinner in town smell it looks like the walking tomb or something, you know, it's like there's a lot of patroling and weed smell coursing through the the casinos.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I mean, this place is insane.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: There's nothing like it.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: It's dry.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: I wake up coughing in the night, like that scene in the movie seven.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: Like I'm choking every night.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: I have to get a humidifier next time I come down.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: It's so dry here.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it is dry.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, you look good.
- 21:33Sean McAllister: It is.
- 21:33Sean McAllister: That's what we always say.
- 21:34Sean McAllister: It's a desert out there.
- 21:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, no.
- 21:36Sean McAllister: Deep hydrated.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: If you if you don't live here, I feel like we know it's dry.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: We put lotion on, we drink a lot of water, and it doesn't feel as dry to us compared to someone that just swings in every now and then.
- 21:51Sean McAllister: Well, it's because the having what, a max of like 12% humidity.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:58Sean McAllister: That's on a humid day.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: You know, that
- 22:00Sean McAllister: That will zap you so quick, especially if you're out in the sun.
- 22:04Sean McAllister: And this is for anybody coming into town this summer.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: If you're gonna go to any of the day clubs, the pool parties, whatever, or if you're just spending a day out at the pool, like, yeah, you want the cold tropical beverage, but uh you gotta drink a giant thing of water with every adult beverage that you have, too, because it will just zap you hardcore.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: I know, really.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, while we were there, you also talked to a musical duo, DJs, loud luxury.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: I actually was not familiar with them, and you were like, no, I've interviewed them before.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: They're up and down the strip.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: What they do shows it.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: Omnia.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: How can I uh they have been uh uh in uh Tau Group's roster of talent since I think back in uh 2018.
- 22:55Sean McAllister: I think their first show here in Vegas was uh at Pure nightclub.
- 23:01Sean McAllister: Um that Pure isn't there anymore.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: Omnia's there now.
- 23:05Sean McAllister: Um, but yeah, I talked to these guys back when they first started performing here.
- 23:09Sean McAllister: How long ago was it?
- 23:10Sean McAllister: Like that's three eight eight years ago.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:14Sean McAllister: Eight years ago.
- 23:15Sean McAllister: Um and they were so much fun then.
- 23:19Sean McAllister: And when we saw them walking up the carpet, I was like, guys, wait a second.
- 23:24Sean McAllister: It's been a hot minute since we talked, and so it was great.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: It was uh good to have a little reunion with them on the carpet there.
- 23:32Sean McAllister: Uh take a listen to the conversation.
- 23:34Sean McAllister: How have you guys been?
- 23:36Sean McAllister: It's been a hot minute.
- 23:37SPEAKER_05: It's been crazy.
- 23:38SPEAKER_05: This Memorial Day weekend has been insane.
- 23:40SPEAKER_05: We were in Vegas on Thursday night, and then we had a day off, but we had to go finish uh Song in the Studio in LA, and then we were in Miami, which was crazy because that always goes so late, and then we flew to Atlantic City, and then we came right back here for this.
- 23:53SPEAKER_04: We don't want to talk about how much sleep we've had.
- 23:55SPEAKER_04: We were actually we started the weekend in Vegas and then we were in Vegas.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: We started the weekend in Vegas for a residency.
- 24:01SPEAKER_04: We were at Hawkinsuman on Thursday, kicking up a Memorial Day weekend, getting the weekend started for everyone, and we also just did EDC this past weekend.
- 24:09SPEAKER_05: Um you're gonna come see us.
- 24:13SPEAKER_05: Next time you're there on stage with us.
- 24:15Sean McAllister: On stage?
- 24:18Sean McAllister: Okay, we have this document so it's gonna have to be.
- 24:28Sean McAllister: So since you guys have started playing Vegas, I mean, how have things changed in your career?
- 24:33Sean McAllister: Because it's just been insane.
- 24:36SPEAKER_05: We're here so much, like we're here almost like three or four times a month, but it's been great.
- 24:40SPEAKER_05: Um, we have really good partners are with Tembo Group, so we've been doing like a mummy all the time this summer.
- 24:44SPEAKER_05: We got some uh pool parties coming up that'll be fun in September and August.
- 24:48SPEAKER_05: Um, but it's really taken things to another level, and it's something that we've always wanted to do uh from when we started performing, was always trying to get a Vegas residency.
- 24:57SPEAKER_05: So it kind of started like we opened up from I think it was like Estate or something like that, the first time we played, and then just kind of built a relationship from there, and then now we're doing like almost like 40 days a year.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:08SPEAKER_04: They've been our biggest supporter for contacts.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: We started our Vegas residency in 2018, and we've been at the same place, the same partner since.
- 25:16SPEAKER_04: And it's quite fascinating because everyone else, you know, they're moving around, they've got a new club this year, they've got a new club next year, we've been in the same place, um, we've been we've been it's been really cool.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Just as a measurement stick to human buddy from opening for residents originally.
- 25:34SPEAKER_04: Now we're doing 40 plus shows a year here, we're back.
- 25:39Sean McAllister: And you said you were just in the studio recording new music.
- 25:42Sean McAllister: When's the new music coming out?
- 25:44SPEAKER_05: We just signed a new record deal.
- 25:45SPEAKER_05: Everything's gonna be announced very soon, but we have a song that's coming out next month.
- 25:49SPEAKER_05: Um, and then we're gonna be pumping music out literally like as much as possible this year, because we signed a pretty fat deal, so we're trying to get music out as much as possible.
- 25:57Sean McAllister: Signing big fat deals is always a good thing.
- 25:59Sean McAllister: You love to see it.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: We're we're we're really excited to have a partner where we can release as much music as we want and do it well.
- 26:06SPEAKER_04: So it's gonna feel like a uh a level up for us, for lack of a better word.
- 26:10Sean McAllister: So, Dana, I don't know if I'm ready, but apparently I'm gonna be on stage with them at EDC next year.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 26:16Dayna Roselli: I this needs to happen.
- 26:19Dayna Roselli: That would be so funny.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: I mean because then I I went on YouTube and watched them at you at EDC and I was like, wow, yeah, it was a whole thing.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: And I was like, next year is Sean gonna be up there.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: Oh, I was like, summer time, summer time, some.
- 26:33Sean McAllister: Well, I think I'll need to get down like my my dance moves because I am not what I would call or what anyone would call a good dancer.
- 26:41Dayna Roselli: Like I kind of just But I don't think you have to be with EDM music, do you?
- 26:47Sean McAllister: Uh you don't.
- 26:48Dayna Roselli: I can like just pump your fist and yeah.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: Jump up in the air, raise the roof.
- 26:54Sean McAllister: Oh my god, I sound like such a boomer.
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, raise the roof.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: Please don't.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, that is so funny.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: They were a lot of fun.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: I liked meeting them.
- 27:09Dayna Roselli: I liked them a lot.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: All right, well, let's do some tips.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: We've got three tips for you today.
- 27:18Dayna Roselli: All right, first we start with two Father's Day deals.
- 27:21Dayna Roselli: And it's so hard because we get so many of them, but we, you know, thought this was a good one because we know dads love cars.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: And the F1 attraction there at Grand Prix Plaza actually launched Grand Prix Sundays recently, and Father's Day is on a Sunday, June 15th.
- 27:37Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is pretty cool.
- 27:38Sean McAllister: So, in addition to going to uh Grand Prix Plaza for the F1 experience and everything that is encompassed there, they will also be showing the Canadian uh Grand Prix that race is actually happening on uh June 15th, starting at 11 o'clock uh a.m.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: uh.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: Las Vegas time.
- 28:04Sean McAllister: So you can kind of go and spend a day at the Grand Prix Plaza, watch the Canadian Grand Prix at the headquarters of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and have all these activations, attractions, food and beverage that's all F1 related at your fingertips.
- 28:23Sean McAllister: So a really cool idea, uh, especially if dad is a race fan.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they have these massive LED screens.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: You get a complimentary cocktail and table snack as you arrive, race-themed food and beverage specials.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: Uh, they have a signature dish and cocktail inspired by Canada, and then Clark County resident giveaways, including merch and grand prix plaza experience tickets.
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: So a lot going on that day.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: So could be a good idea for dad.
- 28:50Sean McAllister: Also, if dad likes golf, this could be kind of a fun thing too.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: Swingers Crazy Golf.
- 28:56Sean McAllister: You've heard us talk about this before here on Vegas Revealed.
- 29:00Sean McAllister: Well, they are now opening during the day to families.
- 29:05Sean McAllister: So if dad is a golfer, you can bring the whole family out to swingers because normally up it has been until now 21 and over.
- 29:13Sean McAllister: This is the first time families are being able to experience this attraction.
- 29:17Sean McAllister: So get the family together, go over, play some swingers crazy golf.
- 29:22Sean McAllister: Uh on uh Father's Day, June 15th.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: Dads get their first drink free.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: Ooh, good.
- 29:29Sean McAllister: So that's an incentive to, you know, reward dad for his hard work all year.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: And save you some money.
- 29:37Sean McAllister: And save you some money.
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: If you're bringing dad, which is a great thing.
- 29:40Dayna Roselli: Or if you are a dad.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: Swingers is great.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: And I'm glad they're opening it to all ages because uh we said other people need to be able to experience this, you know, because it's so cool when you walk in.
- 29:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I think they are opening it to the uh under 21 crowd up until a certain time.
- 29:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:56Sean McAllister: Um, nighttime is still 21 and over.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: As it should be.
- 30:00Sean McAllister: As it should be.
- 30:01Sean McAllister: That is the time for adults.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: Uh, you went to a sushi spot before Kenny Chesney in the Venetian, a new spot that I think we talked about briefly on our TV show, but how was it?
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: And tell us all about it.
- 30:13Sean McAllister: Yeah, so this is Nomakai Sushi and Speakeasy.
- 30:16Sean McAllister: Uh, this is right there in the in restaurant row uh between the Venetian and Palazzo, kind of more on the Venetian side.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:25Sean McAllister: Uh as you're walking up, there's a a walk-up bar where you can sit down and order sushi, have drinks there.
- 30:33Sean McAllister: They have one menu.
- 30:34Sean McAllister: But then if you go to the hostess stand, uh there's a a door there that you need a special code to unlock.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: And that takes you back into this uh speakeasy, which is an intimate little dining room.
- 30:47Sean McAllister: But the food was uh delicious.
- 30:51Sean McAllister: The sushi looked great.
- 30:54Sean McAllister: It was phenomenal.
- 30:55Sean McAllister: We had the um we had salmon, uh, the wagyu, yellowtail, and tuna nigiri.
- 31:02SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: And the salmon, let me tell you, this is the most uh buttery, uh most delicious uh salmon that uh salmon sushi that I have ever had.
- 31:15Sean McAllister: Uh spicy tuna and the king crab rolls were both delicious.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I like how you had the spicy tuna.
- 31:21Sean McAllister: The spicy that's always that's like my go-to.
- 31:23Sean McAllister: Me too.
- 31:24Sean McAllister: I've gotta have the spicy tuna.
- 31:26Sean McAllister: Um the toasted sesame old fashioned was very sesame forward and it was great.
- 31:33Sean McAllister: I wasn't expecting all of those flavors in there.
- 31:36Sean McAllister: I was expecting you know, and old fashioned can be like more like bourbon or whiskey.
- 31:41Dayna Roselli: Right, right.
- 31:42Sean McAllister: But the sesame in there really added another level.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: When you said toasted sesame, I was thinking, oh what was that show?
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: Open sesame.
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: What was that?
- 31:53Sean McAllister: Wait, did was that on I don't know why it had the same ring to it.
- 31:58Sean McAllister: Was that from Sesame Street?
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 32:01Dayna Roselli: Wasn't there a no?
- 32:03Sean McAllister: I'm thinking of I can't cartoon butter sandwiches.
- 32:06Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 32:06Dayna Roselli: They always would do open sesame and some door would like creak open.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: We'll Google it after.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: Sorry, I totally went off the cup, but I know people are listening that know what I'm talking about are saying it out loud and screaming at the the podcast.
- 32:21Dayna Roselli: So send me a text.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: You can go to our show notes, give me the answer.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: So uh Nomakai sushi and speakeasy.
- 32:28Sean McAllister: Like I said, how did it look?
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: It looks beautiful from the pictures I've seen.
- 32:32Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, it's it's gorgeous.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: Did you eat in the speakeasy or the regular dining room?
- 32:36Sean McAllister: We ate in the speakeasy.
- 32:38Dayna Roselli: Okay, and so it is, it's just a sm I don't were you like open sesame, and then you went into the door open.
- 32:45Sean McAllister: It should have.
- 32:46Sean McAllister: That was a missed opportunity, and I'm kicking myself for it now.
- 32:51Sean McAllister: But next time, I'm a hundred percent going back because it was that good.
- 32:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 32:56Sean McAllister: And next time I will.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: You have been raving about this all week.
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: So I'd like everyone to know it's an honest, honest review.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: You've been talking about it all week.
- 33:05Sean McAllister: I wouldn't go on about it if it wasn't delicious.
- 33:08Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 33:09Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, uh, talking about restaurants, we have so many here in Las Vegas.
- 33:14Dayna Roselli: This is the perfect time to try out restaurants because it is restaurant week.
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: It benefits Three Square Food Bank.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: We do it every year here in Las Vegas.
- 33:25Dayna Roselli: Huge fundraiser for them.
- 33:27Dayna Roselli: All the restaurants that participate have special deals going on to entice you to get in there, try a special menu, do a prefix, have a lunch, and it runs through June 13th.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: So that's a good uh good chunk of days.
- 33:45Dayna Roselli: Start June 2nd, runs to the June 13th.
- 33:47Dayna Roselli: Um, the list is very long.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: Everyone's sending us stuff, so we decided you know what?
- 33:51Dayna Roselli: We're gonna give you the website because the website I just looked has a complete list.
- 33:56Dayna Roselli: You click on it, it opens up the menu of what they're doing, and you really should browse around.
- 34:01Dayna Roselli: It's restaurantweeklv.org.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: Restaurantweek LV.org.
- 34:08Dayna Roselli: Totally worth it.
- 34:10Sean McAllister: And the prices uh for these prefix meals for restaurant week really are they're affordable.
- 34:18Sean McAllister: You get great food from great restaurants.
- 34:21Sean McAllister: If you know, if there are some restaurants on the list where you're like, oh, I would love to go there, but it's outside of my budget, this is the time to go because you're gonna get some of their signature items for a great price, and it goes to a good cause.
- 34:38Sean McAllister: Three Square Food Bank helps feed uh families and kids with food insecurity here across southern Nevada.
- 34:46Sean McAllister: They do great work.
- 34:48Sean McAllister: This really does go a long way in providing the meals that people need um to stay alive, quite frankly.
- 34:57Sean McAllister: So this really is dining out for a great cause.
- 35:02Dayna Roselli: And and the wider range of restaurants.
- 35:04Dayna Roselli: We're talking on the strip, off the strip.
- 35:06Dayna Roselli: I'm seeing like uh Bazaar Mar, I'm seeing Beer House, Benny Hanna over at Fashion Show, uh Bar Bohem in downtown, uh Amari over at Uncommons.
- 35:19Dayna Roselli: So Alexa's right there on the strip in front of Paris.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: Um which we just learned our former councilman, Cedric Creer.
- 35:29Dayna Roselli: Oh, his is hands in Alexa, and I was like, Oh, I saw you post about it.
- 35:33Dayna Roselli: He's like, Oh yeah, you know, I should post about it more.
- 35:36Dayna Roselli: And uh anyway, so it's got a great patio that looks at the Bellagio Fountains a little bit.
- 35:41Sean McAllister: It does, it's right next door.
- 35:42Sean McAllister: Well, not right next door, but kind of the same uh similar view that you would get if you went to Mona Miga B.
- 35:49Dayna Roselli: Right, yeah.
- 35:50Sean McAllister: Because it's right along the sidewalk there.
- 35:52Dayna Roselli: Blue ribbon over at Cosmopolitan.
- 35:54Dayna Roselli: The list goes on.
- 35:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there's you get the idea.
- 35:56Sean McAllister: Like you said, a great mix of Carbone.
- 35:59Dayna Roselli: What's Carbone doing?
- 36:00Dayna Roselli: That's a that's a hard reservation to get and a hot ticket.
- 36:03Dayna Roselli: Okay, they're doing a dinner for 120 bucks.
- 36:08Dayna Roselli: You get a choice of house chopped or calamari marco, then a choice of spicy rigatoni vodka or tortellini ragu.
- 36:16Dayna Roselli: And then your third course is lemon cheesecake, and it's 120 bucks.
- 36:20Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's it's a pricey restaurant.
- 36:22Dayna Roselli: That's a pretty good deal.
