Latest / The Vault: The Epstein Files / Leon Black Storms Out Of His Epstein Related Congressional Interview (6/29/26)
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. On Friday, the twenty sixth of June, Leon
- 0:08Black appeared before the Congressional committee overseeing the investigation into
- 0:12Jeffrey Epstein, and in the middle of that hearing, Leon
- 0:15Black ended up getting up and walking out when he
- 0:19found out that he was going to be hit with
- 0:20a subpoena to be under oath instead of just giving testimony.
- 0:25And according to sources, this all went down in the
- 0:28middle of the hearing. So Leon Black was being asked
- 0:31questions about NDAs and he didn't want to answer them,
- 0:35so in the middle of the hearing, according to sources,
- 0:37we weren't there obviously, but according to sources, Leon Black
- 0:41and his legal team decided enough was enough. And I
- 0:44think it really goes to the heart of what we've
- 0:46been talking about. Right, this committee has no teeth. If
- 0:51a guy like Leon Black can get up and walk
- 0:53out in the middle of a congressional hearing, does that
- 0:56signal to you that it's serious, that there's consequences if
- 1:01you lie, if you don't tell the truth. Because from
- 1:03more I'm sitting it does the opposite, and it just
- 1:08confirms everything I've been saying about this committee since the beginning,
- 1:11and this is why this voluntary nonsense is a bunch
- 1:14of bs. Everybody should be subpoena, everybody should be under oath.
- 1:18And if they don't respond to the subpoena they don't
- 1:21show up, well, guess what, they go to jail. We
- 1:26had no problem sending people to jail for not showing
- 1:29up for subpoenas previously, right, So what's the problem here?
- 1:34Why is this committee doing everything it can to continue
- 1:38to protect Jeffrey Epstein's friends. Today's article is from the
- 1:41New York Post and the headline House Committee subpoena is
- 1:46Leon Black midway through the Jeffrey Epstein testimony. And look,
- 1:49there's no doubt that that's a bit odd. That's not
- 1:52something you see all the time. So on giving testimony
- 1:55and then getting subpoena in the middle of that testimony
- 1:58by the same people that we are giving the testimony to,
- 2:01not exactly confidence inducing that Leon Black is telling the truth?
- 2:05Is it? This article was authored by Josh Christiansen and
- 2:09James Frainey. Billionaire investor Leon Black was hit with a
- 2:13subpoena from the House Oversight Committee midway through testimony on
- 2:17his relationship with late finance here and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
- 2:22The move came after Black, the co founder of Apollo
- 2:24Global Management, refused to answer lawmaker's questions about whether there
- 2:28are any non disclosure deals between him and women connected
- 2:32to Epstein. Lawmakers said, now, why wouldn't he answer that.
- 2:36I'm sure it has nothing to do with incriminating himself, right,
- 2:39Leon Black has paid close to two hundred million dollars
- 2:42when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, not to Jeffrey Epstein himself,
- 2:46but two hundred dollars in total, when we're talking about fines,
- 2:49when we're talking about settlements and NDAs. Does that sound
- 2:53like a man who's innocent, who didn't do any of
- 2:55this stuff, who wasn't around Epstein, who knows nothing, who
- 2:59gets up and walks out of a congressional testimony. I'll
- 3:02tell you who. Somebody that is scared shitless of telling
- 3:07the truth, that's who. And maybe, just maybe, if James
- 3:10Comer and his buddies would have went and sat down
- 3:13with Les Wexner, they would have come to the same conclusion.
- 3:16But they couldn't be bothered to do that. Black's now
- 3:21set to come back to Congress for videotape testimony under
- 3:24oath on July sixteenth, per one of the subpoenas. The
- 3:27other one demands the NDAs. Look, Leon Black stepped in it.
- 3:32This dude directly stepped in it. Now, do I think
- 3:34he's going to be held accountable? I don't. They're never
- 3:37held accountable. What would make this different? I mean, maybe
- 3:41that there's a little more publicity and people are paying attention,
- 3:44But besides that, I don't think anybody in Congress really cares.
- 3:50And I think that the litmus test is going to
- 3:53be after midterms. If people keep talking about the subject,
- 3:56the topic cool, but after the elections might yes, is
- 4:00all these people who have been riding the wave, trying
- 4:03to use this politically against their enemies, et cetera, et cetera.
- 4:06Those people, they're gonna fade into the background and they're
- 4:10gonna start talking about all the other shit they were
- 4:12talking about previously, and then whatever becomes profitable they'll jump
- 4:18on that. And that's the same cycle we've seen over
- 4:20and over when it comes to the Epstein story. People
- 4:23aren't built for the long haul. People don't have the
- 4:27patience people don't have the willpower to see it all
- 4:32the way through. And I get that there's a lot
- 4:34going on in the world. I completely understand, But for
- 4:38me personally, there's no issue bigger than this one. And
- 4:42that's why we're going to continue to harp on it
- 4:44no matter what. I don't care if we have a
- 4:47million listeners or five. The importance doesn't change because interest
- 4:52is fading away. So we're going to really see who's
- 4:55about it after this election cycle. And I want you
- 4:57to pay attention to the people that use this as
- 5:00vehicle to get where they're going, and then after they
- 5:03get to their destination, they abandoned the topic because believe
- 5:06me when I tell you it's coming. We need the
- 5:11NDAs to be able to move forward with the Investigation
- 5:14Oversight Committee. James Comer Toll reporters mentioning that they concerned
- 5:18women possibly in Epstein's orbit, not possibly for sure, Like
- 5:23this isn't new to us, and it shouldn't be new
- 5:26to Congress either, And I think that's one of the
- 5:29biggest problems that people have. If all of us knew
- 5:32about this for all these years, how did all of
- 5:35these folks miss it? Or was it that they knew
- 5:39and they just look the other way. I know that's uncomfortable,
- 5:42but a lot of these people that are in office,
- 5:45they don't have any tenable ground to stand on. They
- 5:48knew what was going on. We want to know was
- 5:51Jeffrey Epstein involved in the NDAs, was he involved in
- 5:54writing was he involved in awarding funds to the women
- 5:56for the NDAs? What was the reason for the NDA.
- 6:00We want to know everything about the NDAs, added Comer.
- 6:04And look, that's well within Congress's purview. And if the
- 6:08DOJ ever files charges against Leon Black, those NDAs go
- 6:13out the window. Criminal court is where NDA is going
- 6:17to die. And we saw it with Diddy, we saw
- 6:21it with Epstein several times, and will continue to see it.
- 6:25The NDA has no bearing when it becomes a criminal case.
- 6:30The investor earlier told the committee in a closed door
- 6:32deposition that he played no part in Epstein's sex trafficking scheme.
- 6:37A lawyer for Black voiced outrage over the subpoenas well.
- 6:40Of course, that's the last thing I want to do,
- 6:43be under oath, have to tell the truth God forbid,
- 6:46and why a guy like Leon Black was given the
- 6:48option to appear voluntarily is a mystery for the ages.
- 6:52Every single person that was even considered a co conspirator
- 6:55at some point, they should not be given voluntary interviews.
- 7:00They should be under oath and forced to tell the truth,
- 7:03and if they don't, there should be serious consequences. Mister
- 7:07Black came here voluntarily to assist the committee. This was
- 7:10nothing more than a planned political stunt. Mister Epstein had
- 7:13no involvement with any NDAs, whether they exist or not.
- 7:17Attorney Susan Estrich said in a statement, let me reiterate,
- 7:20the committee did not ask a single question about the
- 7:22legitimate payments to at Epstein for a professional services on
- 7:26tax and estate matters. Let me reiterate. Your client isn't
- 7:30there to set the terms. Your client's there to answer questions.
- 7:35And if you guys don't like that, nobody gives a
- 7:37fuck anymore. I'm so sick of these ultra rich people
- 7:40thinking they can do whatever they want and then people
- 7:43showing up and acting like, yeah, you know, he's being
- 7:45unfairly targeted. No he's not. No, he's fucking not. The
- 7:49guy's an absolute liar. And it's my opinion that if
- 7:52a competent prosecution took over, and they looked into Leon Black,
- 7:57and they looked into his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. They'd
- 8:00come to find that there was a lot of money
- 8:02laundering going on. But I guess we're not going to
- 8:04follow the money trail, right, not salacious enough, A bunch
- 8:07of clowns. One of Epstein's biggest clients. Black told the
- 8:12committee he had been deceived by a man he hired
- 8:15for tax advice. Imagine hiring Epstein for tax advice? What
- 8:19is the H and R fucking block? Yeah, I'm Jackson
- 8:22hewit over here. What does Jeffrey Epstein know about taxes
- 8:26besides how to hide money and launder it? Oh, that's right. Nothing.
- 8:30But let me give him hundreds of millions of dollars.
- 8:32And for my next trick, I'm gonna pay a mechanic
- 8:36five hundred million to cook me food. I've never abused
- 8:42old woman, he said. I have never been with an
- 8:44underage woman. I've never engaged in sex trafficking. Black also
- 8:48denied paying Epstein for access to women, insisting he had
- 8:52never been blackmailed. Well, I thought Jeffrey Epstein was the
- 8:55greatest black mela in the world, and that's how he
- 8:58got Les Wexner and Bill Gay to get on board,
- 9:01or maybe hear me out. They didn't need any convincing
- 9:05you ever think about that. I was not involved with
- 9:10and had no knowledge of, any of Epstein's he and
- 9:12his conduct, he said. The seventy four year old, worth
- 9:15an estimated thirteen and a half billion, according to Forbes,
- 9:18paid Epstein one hundred and fifty eight million over five
- 9:21years for his state and tax planning thirty million a year.
- 9:26Bro was making more than Jalen Brunson. Okay, think about that.
- 9:31So do you think that Jeffrey Epstein's advice about taxes
- 9:34was worth that kind of money? Worth more than Jalen
- 9:38Brunson's contract. I'm not buying it now. If you want
- 9:44to believe it and you want to buy it, I
- 9:46really don't care. I don't care what anybody else thinks,
- 9:49what anybody else does, what anybody else says. He told
- 9:57the committee that he thought he was paying far less.
- 10:00Drafted testimony claimed that Epstein falsely promised the fees were
- 10:03tax deductible or sixty cents on the dollar. Oh yeah,
- 10:06I'm sure he promised that. Easy to blame everything on him, right,
- 10:09Epstein's gone. Nobody can say, oh, well, that's a lie.
- 10:15What Black believed was ninety five million in net fees
- 10:18turned out to be one hundred and fifty eight million,
- 10:20he said, while admitting that the late pedophile solved the
- 10:23massive estate problem that lawyers could not. Yeah, I'm sure
- 10:27he did illegally backdoor channels, doing things he shouldn't do.
- 10:32By the way, Leon Black, have you declared your art?
- 10:36How much of that art have you declared? How much
- 10:39of it's taxable? Where's it dashed? Do you have it
- 10:41hidden overseas? How many accounts do you have? We can
- 10:45go all day. The problem is the committee doesn't have
- 10:49the stones. He fired the finance here in twenty eighteen
- 10:54after a dispute over fees and unpaid thirty million dollar loan.
- 10:58Black stepped down as Apollo's chief executive in twenty twenty one.
- 11:02The company is now led by Mark Rowan. Black's testimony
- 11:06cited a review by the law firm Deckert, which found
- 11:10that he paid Epstein the mass of some but uncovered
- 11:12no evidence he took part in any crimes. Oh of
- 11:15course not. But it was bad enough. He had to
- 11:17step down right, forced out by Josh Harris forced out
- 11:20by Mark Rowan, But sure, nothing to see here. Keep
- 11:25in mind that Leon Black's son is part of the
- 11:28Trump administration. Black said that Deckert examined sixty thousand documents
- 11:37and interviewed twenty people over three months. He called himself
- 11:40the only public figure in Epstein's orbit took commission an
- 11:43independent investigation and make the results public. Ah, yeah, independent investigation?
- 11:49Is it? You mean? Internal investigation? Stupid? The Wall Street
- 11:53big wigs said that he met Epstein in the mid
- 11:55nineties and gave him a second chance after his two
- 11:58thousand and eight conviction force solicit a minor. These people
- 12:01are so fucking dumb that it's not funny. And furthermore,
- 12:05Alan Dershowitz and his big fucking mouth running around yapping
- 12:08all the time about how he doesn't have anything to
- 12:10do with anything. Yeah you do, bitch, Yeah you do.
- 12:14What's up with the NPA? How many backroom deals were
- 12:17made to have that happen? How deeply were you involved?
- 12:21How many times did you do the end around the
- 12:24local southern district of Florida to go to Maine justice?
- 12:27Stop the bullshit. The whole entire point of that first
- 12:30prosecution was so we'd be here now, so later on
- 12:33down the road these idiots could point to that prosecution
- 12:36and say, oh, we had no idea. We thought it
- 12:38was a girl with a fake ID. She was seventeen.
- 12:41Fuck you, fuck them, and fuck that narrative. He said.
- 12:48Epstein told him the case was an isolated incident involving
- 12:51a fake ID. I knew, jack O Black said, I
- 12:53didn't know Hyde. Oh no, sure you didn't. Just had
- 12:56him involved in calling the FSB to press Zelgonieva, but
- 13:01no big deal. I had no idea who he was.
- 13:04He said. He didn't learn of Epstein's sex trafficking of
- 13:06miners until the financier was charged for the crime in
- 13:09July of twenty nineteen. The Justice Department alleged to Epstein
- 13:14created a vast network of girls, some as young as fourteen,
- 13:17for him to sexually abuse between two thousand and two
- 13:20and two thousand and five FBI files released by the
- 13:24Trump administration. Released by the Trump Administration, Kicking and Screaming
- 13:29is the author for real here. I'm getting sick of
- 13:31this shit too. And if you haven't noticed, like Circe Lanister,
- 13:35I woke up today and I chose verbal violence I've
- 13:38had enough, enough of the gas lighting and enough of
- 13:40the bullshit. One Epstein victim told agents in twenty nineteen
- 13:46that Epstein directed her to give massages to Black and others,
- 13:50but New York prosecutors examined the claim and ever charged them. Yeah,
- 13:54the whole idea was to control the blast area, just
- 13:58like I told you. Black devoted much of his Friday
- 14:01statement to three civil suits brought by the whig Door
- 14:04law firm, calling them baseless and fabricated. The first two
- 14:08were dismissed with prejudice. In the third, the ex Apollo
- 14:12CEO said, a federal judge issued a seventy six page
- 14:15ruling last month sanctioning the plaintiff, her lawyer, and the
- 14:19firm for submitting false evidence. He said that the plaintiff
- 14:23testified she bore four of Epstein's children, three of them
- 14:26kidnapped at birth. As a result of this torrent of
- 14:30lies and misrepresentations, I've received death threats and my family
- 14:34now feels unsafe. For the first time in my life,
- 14:37I've had to deploy a body guard. Black said, according
- 14:40to the prepared remarks, these people are all the victims. Now.
- 14:44The whole idea what they're trying to do here is
- 14:47throw a lid on the conversation. They don't want you
- 14:50talking about Leon Black, they don't want you talking about
- 14:53Les Wexner. For the first time ever, these dudes are
- 14:56in the spotlight and guess what. Welcome to the show.
- 15:01Before the session began, Comer told reporters he believed it
- 15:04might be the most groundbreaking hearing yet in the committee's
- 15:07nearly year old Epstein probe. What stop it, Give me
- 15:12a break, James Comer, Okay, this could be a pretty
- 15:16significant deposition as we try to get answers, he said.
- 15:20The committee is investigating how the federal government handled Epstein
- 15:23and his associate, Glenn Maxwell, the socialized daughter of a
- 15:27British newspaper tycoon. Epstein died by suicide allegedly in August
- 15:33twenty nineteen while awaiting trial. I'm glad the author is
- 15:36so confident in that well, he died by suicide. The
- 15:39government told me so, and it was backed up by
- 15:41Nicholas Tartaglioni. The panel previously interviewed former President Bill Clinton
- 15:48and billionaire Bill Gates, who both denied wrongdoing. Black and
- 15:52his family on about fourteen percent of Apollo Representative Robert Garcia,
- 15:57the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, support of subpoenaing Black.
- 16:02There are numerous allegations of real abuse by women by
- 16:05survivors against mister Black. Garcia said, we understand that mister
- 16:10Black may also be connected and had a relationship with
- 16:14President Trump. Always President Trump thrown in, and that of
- 16:18course causes more division, Like we get it. Okay, Trump
- 16:22is overseeing this cover up. But if you try to
- 16:25connect every single piece and thread directly back to Trump,
- 16:28this is gonna fail. Trump certainly played his part here
- 16:32with a cover up and certainly had a relationship with
- 16:34Epstein in the past. But the whole story isn't about Trump,
- 16:38and the more people like Garcia try to make it
- 16:40all about Trump and not about the overall empire. Notice
- 16:44he doesn't talk Rico. Notice he doesn't talk the NPA.
- 16:47Notice he doesn't talk holding people accountable from the first negotiation. No,
- 16:52what does he do? Sam old shit? So I told
- 16:55you from the beginning about Garcia and the thoughts I
- 16:58had about him, and how I didn't think he was
- 17:00being honest, and I feel the same way now, In fact,
- 17:02worse him and comer two peas in a pot and
- 17:05this committee absolute joke. All the information that goes with
- 17:09this episode can be found in the description box.
