- 0:00Speaker 1: So we've been working through the beef.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Like like I told you, we purchased a half a cow.
- 0:09Speaker 3: That's a lot of a cow, a live cow.
- 0:11Speaker 4: It was really weird.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Half a cow. It's local beef raised in the Morgan Valley.
- 0:19Speaker 4: There's a side of beef.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Essentially, it's about two hundred and fifty pounds of meat.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Cows are big. It's a lot.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yes, it's about one hundred pounds of ground beef. It's
- 0:33Speaker 2: like thirty to forty pounds of roasts, twenty to thirty
- 0:37Speaker 2: five steaks.
- 0:40Speaker 4: And I've offered to help specially.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You have and I've given you, guys both.
- 0:44Speaker 4: You gave me a roast out of how many roasts
- 0:47Speaker 4: did you say?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Forty pounds?
- 0:49Speaker 4: Forty forty pounds of roasts or how many roasts is that?
- 0:53Speaker 1: I don't know how many of that is. But so
- 0:55Speaker 1: we bought a freezer to store the meat.
- 1:00Speaker 4: That was a wise move.
- 1:03Speaker 1: And we bought a stand up freezer. The thinking being.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Your chest freezer, you never get to the bottom of it.
- 1:14Speaker 2: There is stuff that Bill. I know you have a
- 1:16Speaker 2: chest freezer, and I guarantee you there's something at the
- 1:19Speaker 2: bottom you don't have. But I bet there was something
- 1:23Speaker 2: at the bottom that was there for years that you
- 1:25Speaker 2: never can it was.
- 1:26Speaker 4: It was a human body.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so the thinking being a standing freezer. Yeah, it's
- 1:32Speaker 1: you can see it all.
- 1:33Speaker 2: It's all right, nothing gets buried at the bottom. But
- 1:38Speaker 2: it's two hundred and fifty pounds in me.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I was going to say that it doesn't hold it.
- 1:42Speaker 5: It doesn't hold as much as the other one.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Last weekend, we were up at the farm which is
- 1:50Speaker 2: where this lives in the garage, and Joe was out
- 1:56Speaker 2: doing farming.
- 1:57Speaker 1: He put on his overalls and he was out farming
- 2:00Speaker 1: like he does.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Take a piece of straw and put it and uh.
- 2:04Speaker 2: He came back in almost immediately and just stood there
- 2:08Speaker 2: and I said, oh no, what happened?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Much as we can figure, there was so much meat
- 2:15Speaker 1: in the freezer. It was so heavy that one of the.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Shelves collapsed and the collapsing of the shelf opened the door.
- 2:27Speaker 1: And it was there all night.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Oh just.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And it's hot.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Yeah, so all that meat's gone ruined.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Now, Now what do you do with it?
- 2:45Speaker 2: Well, trash pickup isn't for days. You can't just you
- 2:49Speaker 2: can't just throw all that in the garbage can because
- 2:53Speaker 2: because that's a problem.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah, so it to watch the flies get at it.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Though, So you load it up and take it to
- 3:01Speaker 1: the dump.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Now, I know you guys were suspicious of me telling
- 3:04Speaker 2: you that the dump is inside, and I have video
- 3:07Speaker 2: of the dump.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You go to X ninety six doucks the.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Salt Lake County Landfill. No, this is oh well, okay.
- 3:15Speaker 1: You drive inside.
- 3:18Speaker 2: And and they they have, you know, like heavy equipment
- 3:21Speaker 2: that is pushing whatever you're dropping off down and there
- 3:26Speaker 2: are big signs all around that say no scavenging.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Oh you can't, you can't.
- 3:34Speaker 4: So that meat. Somebody could have gotten that meat.
- 3:38Speaker 2: There is no just drop your drop your load and
- 3:41Speaker 2: get out. But it's inside now they take it outside,
- 3:47Speaker 2: but they sort it. When you go to the dump
- 3:50Speaker 2: to drop it off, you're just drive in a building
- 3:53Speaker 2: and say here's my garbage.
- 3:55Speaker 4: And the last time I was at this, it's been
- 3:57Speaker 4: a long time, I was at the Salt Lake County
- 3:59Speaker 4: land Landfill and they wasn't inside. There were, but they're
- 4:03Speaker 4: big cement troughs that you you pull up alongside these
- 4:07Speaker 4: big cement troughs and dump stuff in it.
- 4:12Speaker 2: But so, so I know I had promised you guys
- 4:15Speaker 2: more that it's all it's all, yeah, it's gone.
- 4:18Speaker 4: We want it, would have to go up there and
- 4:19Speaker 4: get Yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 3: A texter says, you have to put a latch and
- 4:22Speaker 3: a padlock on those doors.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because for that very exactly ruined.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah, they have fifty pounds.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I think the freezer probably had that if there was
- 4:34Speaker 4: probably a place where you could lock it.
- 4:35Speaker 3: The problem. But how dare they forbid you from scavenging?
- 4:39Speaker 1: Her signs saying I've found.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Some really cool stuff at the dumps.
- 4:44Speaker 4: To me, when I are the times I've been to
- 4:45Speaker 4: the Salt Lake County Landfill there were people scavengers.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Well, and because if some if someone's thrown it away,
- 4:52Speaker 2: it's up for grabs.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Right Yeah, what you know the perfect example of that
- 4:59Speaker 4: is this same one man's trash is another man's treasure.
- 5:05Speaker 5: I found one of my favorite items when I was
- 5:10Speaker 5: a kid at the dump.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Which was what it was a bank.
- 5:14Speaker 5: There was an elephant and it had a spring loaded
- 5:16Speaker 5: trunk so that when you put the coin in the
- 5:19Speaker 5: front of the trunk and he pressed the button, it
- 5:21Speaker 5: would pop it up into his back and put it out.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Didn't work, It worked, I uh, I used to so
- 5:29Speaker 4: I had. I had an uncle who a great uncle
- 5:31Speaker 4: who was a garbage man, had a private, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 4: Wheelwright disposal. He go around to grocery stores and stuff,
- 5:39Speaker 4: and they take care of their trash. But then he
- 5:42Speaker 4: would bring us stuff. You know, I brought there's a
- 5:46Speaker 4: whole case of cinnamon rolls here, and my mother.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Would be perfectly good.
- 5:50Speaker 4: My mother would be very you know, and she'd say, oh,
- 5:53Speaker 4: thanks Howard. And then and then he'd leave and would
- 5:55Speaker 4: throw the throw away trap.
- 5:58Speaker 5: The trash man says, it's called a transfer station. Ye,
- 6:02Speaker 5: Sandy City is where I haul just opened one up,
- 6:04Speaker 5: And Sketchy Blake of Ogden says, we're keeping it classy
- 6:07Speaker 5: in August, no kidding, all right,
