Alaska’s first Latter-day Saint temple is getting a massive upgrade—with a brand-new, triple-sized structure set to open in 2027. The current temple, which has served the community since 1999, will close in March 2027, making way for the stunning new 30,000-square-foot temple. Construction began in early 2024 after plans were revealed in January 2023. A public open house runs May 13–29, 2027, with media previews earlier in the month.
