Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: Ruffling the Feathers podcast. In today's episode, we have hit
- 0:10Speaker 1: the quarter mark of the NFL season. And is this
- 0:14Speaker 1: picture any clearer than what we are seeing right now?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Because there are teams that are good. There are teams
- 0:21Speaker 1: that are bad. There are teams that are good that
- 0:23Speaker 1: are supposed to be bad. There are teams that are
- 0:25Speaker 1: bad that are supposed to be good. There are defensive
- 0:29Speaker 1: issues all over the place, and I don't even know
- 0:32Speaker 1: what I'm talking about anymore. But joining me on this
- 0:36Speaker 1: podcast is Supernova and Brandon Gentleman. What is going on today?
- 0:42Speaker 2: A quarter of the way through already?
- 0:46Speaker 3: That's so sad.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I know. We need to pour one out here.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I think the bye weeks start this week.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Maybe. Nova, what's going on with you, brother?
- 0:59Speaker 3: Well, a heat wave. That's what's going on.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Oh, come on. Brandon, why'd you let your Charizard out
- 1:05Speaker 1: of its Pokeball?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Look, man. I don't know if you guys ever remember
- 1:10Speaker 2: reading the story of Perseus in school. Sometimes you gotta
- 1:22Speaker 2: just fly, man. You gotta let your wings stretch out.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, obviously, SoCal is nowhere to grout on,
- 1:28Speaker 3: you know, promotion in RBGC surfers, but otherwise... And.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm sorry, that was Icarus, not Perseus. Jesus Christ, I
- 1:35Speaker 2: am so sorry.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Thanks for reminding me of me having an Icarus moment
- 1:39Speaker 3: last year, so that brings in dark times.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Well, I mean, in all fairness, Brandon, you've had a
- 1:45Speaker 1: long day right now, so... Uh, yeah. I mean, let's
- 1:50Speaker 1: hear about that long day. Like how much fun was
- 1:54Speaker 1: it to wake up, look at your computer and see,
- 1:58Speaker 1: oh yeah, LA is in a heat advisory, even though
- 2:00Speaker 1: you're on the opposite side of the country.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I work in health insurance and my company is
- 2:06Speaker 2: based out of the state of California. So I get
- 2:09Speaker 2: to wake up and see all this. The first thing
- 2:11Speaker 2: I look up and I was like, dang, I guess
- 2:13Speaker 2: Nova's just over here kind of roasting alive at this
- 2:16Speaker 2: moment in time. And I get to sit here and
- 2:18Speaker 2: wake up to 50 degree starts. So I don't envy
- 2:21Speaker 2: him at all.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Come on, man. You're doing a fellow co-host. Why?
- 2:29Speaker 1: I mean, in all fairness, he's got to play into that.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I mean, like right now, it's in the heat advisory
- 2:35Speaker 1: for Nova. It is 75 and raining for me. And
- 2:41Speaker 1: we might have– Brandon, I can't believe I'm saying this.
- 2:44Speaker 1: We might have a hurricane in our season.
- 2:48Speaker 3: It's true.
- 2:48Speaker 2: You might.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we might have a hurricane forming in the Yucatan Peninsula.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And I believe I saw the pronunciation. I think it
- 2:57Speaker 1: was what, La– s-a-e-s s-a-e-s i think is how it's
- 3:04Speaker 1: it's spelled i-s.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah it's yes that's how you spell i think pronounce it.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's it's spanish-based yeah because apparently the hurricanes are named
- 3:16Speaker 1: in english spanish or french because those are like the
- 3:20Speaker 1: primary languages of everything in the atlantic for this time
- 3:24Speaker 1: of year for the hurricane season Out of curiosity, Nova,
- 3:27Speaker 1: have you ever been in a hurricane? Because Brandon and I... Well,
- 3:31Speaker 1: I don't know if Brandon has, but I definitely have.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't get so many in the West Coast.
- 3:36Speaker 3: We have some hurricane advisories, like, across the coast. Like,
- 3:39Speaker 3: I heard no Mexicans are dealing with a few of
- 3:41Speaker 3: them on the West Side, and I feel bad for
- 3:43Speaker 3: all the residents and for all that. But, yeah, I've
- 3:46Speaker 3: never been in one. I think the closest thing that's
- 3:48Speaker 3: happened is, like, a couple tornado spottings and a water spout.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Brandon, have you ever... experienced a hurricane.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Before i've experienced several hurricanes but unfortunately i also live
- 4:02Speaker 2: in a part of the carolinas where we got hit
- 4:05Speaker 2: very heavily by hurricane helene a couple of years ago
- 4:08Speaker 2: so you know or maybe like a year and a
- 4:11Speaker 2: half ago at this point has it really been that
- 4:13Speaker 2: long um there's a lot of the areas that are
- 4:16Speaker 2: near me that are still rebuilding um like as a
- 4:20Speaker 2: kind of a point of reference for those who may
- 4:22Speaker 2: be familiar somewhat with the carolina area ashville north carolina
- 4:26Speaker 2: is a Kind of a pretty well-known little town in
- 4:28Speaker 2: this part of the country. They're still having to rebuild
- 4:32Speaker 2: their water infrastructure.
- 4:34Speaker 1: They are still having to rebuild it?
- 4:39Speaker 2: They are still rebuilding their entire water infrastructure from where
- 4:44Speaker 2: Helene hit. Because it destroyed a lot of things. There
- 4:51Speaker 2: were restaurants that were forced to close permanently because of
- 4:55Speaker 2: the loss of business. there were apartments that were washed away,
- 4:59Speaker 2: knocked down. Like I have videos and pictures that I
- 5:01Speaker 2: can show you guys of like me helping do clean
- 5:04Speaker 2: out efforts after Helene kind of left. Like I was
- 5:07Speaker 2: sitting in an apartment in Asheville in the fifth story of,
- 5:11Speaker 2: of the apartment, your normal high rise apartment building style
- 5:15Speaker 2: that you would imagine. And the water came up to
- 5:17Speaker 2: the top of the third floor. So it's, it Helene
- 5:23Speaker 2: was a very rough time for North Carolina, actually, unfortunately.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, admittedly, I will be, forgive me for
- 5:31Speaker 1: sounding callous when I'm about to say, I thought you
- 5:33Speaker 1: would probably say, yeah, I deal with the Hurricanes. They
- 5:36Speaker 1: play in Raleigh.
- 5:39Speaker 3: No, no.
- 5:41Speaker 2: No, not quite.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, forgive me if I sounded a little
- 5:46Speaker 1: callous there, but yeah, no, Hurricanes, not fun. I mean,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I will be honest. I I'm 30 now. I still
- 5:55Speaker 1: remember 2004 in Florida. Like, you know, people were like,
- 5:59Speaker 1: Oh my God, hurricane this. Oh my God. Hurricane that.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Oh my God. It's going to destroy everything. Yeah. Um,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I remember what was that? Ivan that, uh, was 2017.
- 6:10Speaker 1: That was supposed to be a bad one. It really
- 6:12Speaker 1: didn't do much. Thankfully there was one a couple of
- 6:15Speaker 1: years ago that, uh, Followed the exact same path as
- 6:19Speaker 1: Hurricane Charlie did in 2004. I mean, yeah, that area
- 6:25Speaker 1: got ravaged. But 2004 hurricane season, we had four hurricanes
- 6:30Speaker 1: of at least Category 3 hit Florida in a span
- 6:33Speaker 1: of a month.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I remember that.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Charlie was supposed to basically cut off the state
- 6:40Speaker 1: of Florida like Bugs Bunny did in that Looney Tunes cartoon,
- 6:43Speaker 1: which is way too early for Nova's time, but I'm
- 6:47Speaker 1: sure he's seen that gif before.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Which one's that?
- 6:52Speaker 1: Where Bugs is really cutting off the state of Florida
- 6:54Speaker 1: with a saw and sending Florida into the Caribbean Sea.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:02Speaker 2: He has no idea. This poor, poor, sweet summer child.
- 7:07Speaker 1: He does not know, but he will be informed in time.
- 7:12Speaker 1: But yeah, no. Charlie was supposed to destroy us. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: remember the thick, thick black storm clouds and all that,
- 7:20Speaker 1: but nothing major happened there. Francis, okay, Francis was bad.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Ivan hit the panhandle, and yeah, the panhandle was rocked.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And then Gene was the worst one in my area.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It blew out power for a day. And then because
- 7:37Speaker 1: we were still in the process of building the house
- 7:39Speaker 1: that we're currently in right now in Florida, my family
- 7:43Speaker 1: and I. And in the process of building that house
- 7:46Speaker 1: with the hurricane knocking out power for the day, we
- 7:49Speaker 1: come up here. We see the foundation of the house.
- 7:52Speaker 1: We go to this. Now, thankfully, it's been bankrupt and
- 7:56Speaker 1: out of business for like, I don't know, 15 years
- 7:59Speaker 1: now and my dad got food poisoning that day from
- 8:03Speaker 1: that uh restaurant because it was that horrible.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Oh yeah that's how she just really just likes to
- 8:10Speaker 3: hear but you know i guess i'll bring in the
- 8:12Speaker 3: good news before we get into our actual sections uh
- 8:14Speaker 3: what i didn't say is that high school football league
- 8:17Speaker 3: play started uh first of all shout out to patriot
- 8:20Speaker 3: high school you guys are always the real ones supporting
- 8:23Speaker 3: me whenever most other schools don't really give the respect
- 8:27Speaker 3: they deserve for media workers like myself. But also, this
- 8:31Speaker 3: upcoming Saturday, San Bernardino Valley College resumes home play back
- 8:37Speaker 3: on IEMG. I'll be on the call again against Glendale College.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Ooh, well, ladies and gentlemen, if you are going to
- 8:44Speaker 1: be around, check out that stream when it goes live.
- 8:47Speaker 1: We will have a link in the description of this
- 8:50Speaker 1: podcast so you guys can check it out. And honestly, Nova,
- 8:54Speaker 1: speaking of high school, I'll say briefly my high school.
- 8:57Speaker 1: We just had the homecoming game on Friday night. Absolutely
- 9:01Speaker 1: incredible game. We played. We actually played Keanu Neal. You
- 9:05Speaker 1: remember that name, Brandon?
- 9:07Speaker 2: I do.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I do, too.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah, we played his alma mater on Friday night, South
- 9:13Speaker 1: Sumter High School, and played a really close game. My
- 9:18Speaker 1: high school threw a touchdown pass, a 15-yard skinny post
- 9:22Speaker 1: with two minutes left in the game. South Sumter drives
- 9:25Speaker 1: it down inside the five with 35 seconds left. And
- 9:31Speaker 1: unfortunately for South Sumter, but fortunately for my school, their
- 9:36Speaker 1: kicker sailed a 25-yarder wide left.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Oh, you're actually upsetting me because I witnessed a 43-yard
- 9:43Speaker 3: field goal just this Friday, which I think is a
- 9:47Speaker 3: rarity because I want to see more kickers kick field goals.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I do, too. And this kid, he had a 45
- 9:52Speaker 1: and a 47 yarder that he missed those two, but
- 9:59Speaker 1: he had the distance that he could have hit them
- 10:02Speaker 1: from like 50. This kid, he's a, and again, he's
- 10:05Speaker 1: a kid. I say that even though Brandon, I mean,
- 10:08Speaker 1: Brandon and I, we probably say everybody that's younger than
- 10:10Speaker 1: us as a kid right now.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Five, six years older than you. What do you mean? Yeah.
- 10:18Speaker 3: We really are filling in the A's. Sorry.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Nova, I'll say it in place of Brandon. When
- 10:25Speaker 1: did your SpongeBob watch through happening? No. Well, Brandon, I tried.
- 10:33Speaker 2: That's fine. But no, like on the topic of high
- 10:35Speaker 2: school football, I got to look it into my high
- 10:37Speaker 2: school because I haven't actually kept up with my high
- 10:40Speaker 2: school's football since I graduated from there. And let's be fair.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I graduated high school in 2009. So mine's been a
- 10:49Speaker 2: little while. Historically, we've never been good at football. We
- 10:53Speaker 2: really haven't. The closest that my county has gotten to
- 10:57Speaker 2: being good at high school football is when Carlos Watkins
- 11:02Speaker 2: played for Chase High School. He's from my area, and
- 11:04Speaker 2: that's pretty much the only time that they've ever really
- 11:06Speaker 2: been good at football. But I'm over here looking at it,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and I'm actually kind of impressed because they're 6-1 on
- 11:13Speaker 2: the season. Listen to these scores. This is very impressive.
- 11:18Speaker 2: We are 6-1. We have won, in order, 51-12, 52-12.
- 11:20Speaker 2: We lost 62-31, won 42-35, 42-0, 34-27, and we won 42-0. Hey,
- 11:22Speaker 2: at least we're getting 30 points a game. We're sitting
- 11:28Speaker 2: over here like, oh boy, what are we doing over here?
- 11:31Speaker 2: We are averaging... almost 300 passing yards per game, and
- 11:50Speaker 2: averaging 223 on the ground.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Where are the scouts?
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yeah, where are the scouts there? But honestly, guys, I
- 12:04Speaker 1: can say this. I mean, high school football is on.
- 12:07Speaker 1: We got college football that just happened. We got college
- 12:09Speaker 1: football this weekend. We got the Red River rivalry this weekend. Saturday,
- 12:14Speaker 1: Texas and Oklahoma.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Do I want to pick Bajon or do I want
- 12:20Speaker 1: to pick Billy Bowman Jr. 's school?
- 12:22Speaker 3: I personally don't watch college football as much as I
- 12:27Speaker 3: used to, so I'm not going to give an answer.
- 12:30Speaker 2: I think you should spend that time watching Spongebob. It's okay.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I don't think I can do that because I got
- 12:36Speaker 3: to get ready for that game.
- 12:38Speaker 2: That sounds like a skill issue.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's a skill issue not regarding you.
- 12:44Speaker 2: No, the issue is there, brother. The issue is you.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Anyway, let's start off. We have Pittsburgh at Cleveland on
- 12:55Speaker 3: Thursday Night Football. I pretty much, I think all of
- 12:59Speaker 3: us had this anticipation that the Browns were going to
- 13:01Speaker 3: win this game, but I'm going to explain something to
- 13:03Speaker 3: you guys that I think may not make the most sense,
- 13:05Speaker 3: I think. Because the Pittsburgh Steelers historically never do well
- 13:09Speaker 3: in Cleveland, and I don't know why that is.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Let's see. Steelers record.
- 13:21Speaker 3: They are 2-2 in the season.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Record in Cleveland.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I think they haven't won in over five years. The
- 13:31Speaker 3: last thing they did well was a tie.
- 13:33Speaker 2: It says... Pittsburgh Steelers trail in road games against the
- 13:38Speaker 2: Cleveland Browns going 24-38-1 all-time in Cleveland, with Cleveland holding
- 13:43Speaker 2: a 7-1 advantage in Cleveland since 2019. The one.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Being the tie, by the way.
- 13:51Speaker 1: The one being the tie.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So wouldn't that be 7-0-1 then?
- 13:56Speaker 3: I guess so.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Let's see. I want to see.
- 14:00Speaker 3: But also, you want to hear something else about this game?
- 14:03Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCartney had a hot Mike moment immediately.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love it. That was great. That
- 14:12Speaker 1: was great, where he's like, call the fucking play!
- 14:16Speaker 2: You could just see Mike McCartney, you asshole.
- 14:21Speaker 3: And now you kind of see why I don't like
- 14:22Speaker 3: Mike McCartney as the newest head coach. Now you kind
- 14:24Speaker 3: of see.
- 14:25Speaker 2: And this is what I was telling y'all from the
- 14:27Speaker 2: very beginning of like, whenever we started doing this podcast
- 14:30Speaker 2: is Mike McCartney was not going to be good for that. Like,
- 14:33Speaker 2: and if they were, it was because of any chemistry
- 14:36Speaker 2: he had with Rogers, but it seems like that's kind
- 14:39Speaker 2: of gone out the window since their time in green Bay.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Also while we're on the note, because I like Google
- 14:45Speaker 2: searching things. The last time the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the
- 14:48Speaker 2: Cleveland Browns in Cleveland was on Halloween of 2021. with
- 14:54Speaker 2: a score of 15 to 10.
- 14:57Speaker 1: God, I wonder where we're going to be talking about
- 15:01Speaker 1: that score today.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Oh God. Yeah. No, don't get me started. Anywho. Yeah.
- 15:09Speaker 1: But I mean, we got the box score for this game.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I mean, Aaron Rogers, 22 of 42 99, three touchdowns,
- 15:15Speaker 1: two picks. Like, That's kind of crazy when you think
- 15:22Speaker 1: about it, that Aaron Rodgers got picked off twice in
- 15:25Speaker 1: a game. I can't even remember the last time that happened.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Can any of you guys?
- 15:30Speaker 2: He's really sucked at the QB since.
- 15:33Speaker 1: No, I mean.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I'd like to point.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Out with the final interception, it was the same thing
- 15:43Speaker 3: that happened with the Lamar Jackson's a flowers connection in
- 15:46Speaker 3: Rio last where there was actually an open man in
- 15:48Speaker 3: the middle of the field in the air. I just decided, no,
- 15:50Speaker 3: I'm not going to go there. I'm just going to
- 15:51Speaker 3: chuck it deep, get intercepted. My brother. You had a
- 15:57Speaker 3: man wide open. You just chose not to hit him.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Evidently, no. And my brother even brought up the fact
- 16:03Speaker 1: that DK Metcalf was wide open. And he was, I
- 16:08Speaker 1: saw the play late. I was like, oh, damn, that
- 16:10Speaker 1: is a horrible play. a mystery by Aaron Rogers, but
- 16:16Speaker 1: at least they have a small running game and Jalen
- 16:19Speaker 1: Warren getting 93 yards, five and a half a carry.
- 16:22Speaker 1: That's pretty good.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 3: They ever choose to use the running game, which they
- 16:26Speaker 3: keep forgetting to do. Cause you know, Jalen Warren's a
- 16:29Speaker 3: good running back.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I mean, Jalen Warren is a, a decent running back.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I mean, we, we've got better ones in the league.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I'll just say that.
- 16:41Speaker 2: They got a lot better ones in the league. Anywho,
- 16:43Speaker 2: I'm just biased against Pittsburgh. I hate Pittsburgh. Anywho, carry on.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I'm biased against them too, but I have to respect
- 16:50Speaker 3: where it is. Hey, did anybody else have Cleveland 3-1
- 16:54Speaker 3: after four weeks?
- 16:56Speaker 2: If you had told me Cleveland has a winning record
- 17:01Speaker 2: at any point in time, no.
- 17:03Speaker 3: They're leading the division because of this win, because now
- 17:08Speaker 3: they have a division lead because of this one game.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I mean, Todd Munkin is also just like making this
- 17:15Speaker 3: offense come alive.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Um, I mean, to answer your question, Nova, I probably
- 17:21Speaker 1: would have said two and two for Cleveland.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I would have told you that was generous.
- 17:27Speaker 1: That's like, I would have been generous and said two
- 17:30Speaker 1: and two. Like I would have, I would have put
- 17:32Speaker 1: them more on the defense when in the games that
- 17:35Speaker 1: they did because their defense is quietly underrated right now.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Uh, But if I would have said 3-1, I have
- 17:46Speaker 1: a feeling Brandon would.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I've protested you, probably.
- 17:50Speaker 3: I don't know what I'm going to do right now, though.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Wait, what do you mean by that, Nova?
- 17:57Speaker 3: Brother.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Well, see, that's the thing. We can't drug test someone
- 18:01Speaker 2: for saying Cleveland's 3-1 when they actually are 3-1.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I keep in mind, this is one of the teams
- 18:06Speaker 3: Brandon predicted at the start of the season to go 0-17,
- 18:08Speaker 3: and now they're leading the division.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Wait, what? I thought he picked the Giants to go 0-17.
- 18:14Speaker 3: We'll get to that later. They're not the only ones.
- 18:17Speaker 2: No, I had also picked Cleveland. I had also picked Cleveland.
- 18:23Speaker 3: This Cleveland offense has definitely been interesting because he, who
- 18:26Speaker 3: should not be named by me and Brandon, has been
- 18:28Speaker 3: playing well.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I refuse to acknowledge his play style. Anywho, did you
- 18:33Speaker 2: guys see it? Quinn Sean Jenkins had 53 receiving yards
- 18:36Speaker 2: and a touchdown. Oh, I'm sorry. 53 rushing yards and
- 18:38Speaker 2: a touchdown.
- 18:39Speaker 3: You have 43 receiving yards if you want to check
- 18:41Speaker 3: right there on the screen.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Denzel Boston had 89 receiving yards.
- 18:49Speaker 2: They played very well for their positions.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Dude, I freaking love Denzel Boston as a rookie. Like,
- 18:54Speaker 3: I know we could say things about Watson that we
- 18:57Speaker 3: don't want to be saying. It's just like, Look, we
- 18:59Speaker 3: appreciate everyone else. Denzel Boston and Harold Fannin are emerging
- 19:03Speaker 3: for this offense.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I keep leaving Denzel Boston on my bench in some
- 19:07Speaker 2: fantasy leagues. I'm low-key starting to regret it.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I mean, you might have to reconsider that, Brandon. Now,
- 19:16Speaker 1: I will say, technically, both quarterbacks contributed to two turnovers. So,
- 19:21Speaker 1: Deshaun had the one interception and the one loss fumble. Meanwhile,
- 19:26Speaker 1: Rodgers had the two interceptions, but... I mean, when you
- 19:30Speaker 1: look at their QBRs, they were kind of even 53.4, 49.4.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 1: When you both suck. That's easy to do.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. That's kind of easy to do. Um, That's
- 19:43Speaker 2: easy to do.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of easy to do. However, I'm going
- 19:52Speaker 1: to actually say something right now. This might be my
- 19:56Speaker 1: ruffling the feathers, and I might get Brandon really mad
- 20:01Speaker 1: at me, Nova. Like, madder than he's been at all
- 20:06Speaker 1: at me in four weeks, which is saying a lot.
- 20:10Speaker 1: And you know why?
- 20:16Speaker 2: Well....
- 20:18Speaker 1: I was waiting for Nova to answer why.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I'll give you an emotion, just go.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Oh.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Brandon, I'm going to defend Deshaun Watson right now.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Now, hear me out. The setting was.
- 20:35Speaker 1: The setting was on Sunday when I was at my
- 20:38Speaker 1: League Cup to get ready to cast. Me and a
- 20:41Speaker 1: couple of my friends, we were talking about the NFL.
- 20:44Speaker 1: We were talking about this Thursday night game. Now, I'm
- 20:47Speaker 1: talking with a Bucs fan. I'm talking with a Giants fan.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I'm talking with a Cowboys fan.
- 20:51Speaker 2: What kind of a room are you in to where
- 20:54Speaker 2: all three of these co-mingle with each other? That's unheard
- 20:58Speaker 2: of around here. Oh, I mean, in his.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Defense, one of them is a local to the Tampa
- 21:02Speaker 3: Bay Buccaneers. One of them is.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Also, to that defense, my old roommate, I'm a Patriots fan,
- 21:07Speaker 2: and my old roommate was a Giants fan.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so we were talking about how Deshaun has been
- 21:16Speaker 1: playing through these four weeks. And one of them, the
- 21:22Speaker 1: Giants fan, actually, was the one who brought this up.
- 21:24Speaker 1: He was like, I cannot stand how all of these
- 21:29Speaker 1: talking head shows like First Take and Get Up and
- 21:33Speaker 1: First Things First and Cowherd, they're all gassing up Deshaun
- 21:38Speaker 1: Watson with how he's been performing right now. And this
- 21:43Speaker 1: is what I said to them. Deshaun Watson, the player,
- 21:50Speaker 1: I can understand them giving the player a redemption story
- 21:54Speaker 1: because the way he's played the last three weeks, you
- 21:59Speaker 1: can honestly tell me that right now he does not
- 22:03Speaker 1: look like the quarterback in Houston that signed that big contract. I, I, well,
- 22:13Speaker 1: I w I was waiting for somebody to say whether
- 22:16Speaker 1: or not I was crazy on that, but we will continue.
- 22:18Speaker 1: So I, That's my thing. When it comes to Deshaun Watson,
- 22:23Speaker 1: the player, that was always my thing with the Achilles
- 22:26Speaker 1: ruptures is as the player, I could feel for him
- 22:32Speaker 1: losing years of his career. So Deshaun Watson, the player,
- 22:37Speaker 1: I defend for getting this redemption story. I do not
- 22:42Speaker 1: think he should be comeback player of the year. However, I,
- 22:46Speaker 1: but I do, I do respect the player. To get
- 22:50Speaker 1: some love. But when it comes to Deshaun Watson. The person.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Oh he can go piss up a rope. And fuck
- 22:59Speaker 1: all the way off. Because. Pissing up a rope is crazy.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Everything he did off the field, there is no defending.
- 23:06Speaker 1: He is an asshole. He is a horrible person. So
- 23:10Speaker 1: I have no sympathy for him. And the analogy I made, Brandon,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I used the Hulk Hogan debate. Because let's be real.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Everybody has an opinion of Hulk Hogan. Most of them
- 23:26Speaker 1: are negative. And a lot of them come from the
- 23:29Speaker 1: political backing, which we don't have to... But it was always,
- 23:34Speaker 1: where does Hulk Hogan, the character, and Terry Bollea, the person, begin?
- 23:44Speaker 1: In the case of that, we always said Hulk Hogan,
- 23:49Speaker 1: the character, was one of the best things out there.
- 23:52Speaker 1: He was the symbol of excellence. Say your prayers, eat
- 23:56Speaker 1: your vitamins, all that hoopla. But Terry Bollea, the person
- 24:02Speaker 1: behind the character, was a complete and total asshole. And
- 24:08Speaker 1: that's my whole reasoning. I am willing to give Deshaun Watson,
- 24:13Speaker 1: the player, a little bit of redemption story because the
- 24:17Speaker 1: way that he's played these last three weeks, I'm seeing
- 24:21Speaker 1: the Houston Deshaun Watson.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I don't agree with the slightest.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I think.
- 24:26Speaker 3: He's been playing better, but I still think he's playing
- 24:29Speaker 3: relatively pedestrian.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I mean, I can understand that side of things. Now, Brandon,
- 24:37Speaker 1: please have at it.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I think Deshaun wants it as a shit player and
- 24:43Speaker 2: a shit person. That's my take, and I'm sticking to it.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yippee!
- 24:47Speaker 2: On a somewhat serious note... i i don't think that
- 24:56Speaker 2: he has been playing like he did in houston i
- 24:59Speaker 2: see flashes of him as he played in houston um
- 25:05Speaker 2: but the years of being hurt and out of the
- 25:08Speaker 2: league and being blackballed for the heinous bullshit he did
- 25:13Speaker 2: um which to my knowledge he still has never actually
- 25:16Speaker 2: verbally confirmed or apologized for even though we all know
- 25:19Speaker 2: he fucking did it um.
- 25:22Speaker 3: All he did was settle. That's all he did. Oh, yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 1: All he did was settle. He never outright was found guilty,
- 25:33Speaker 1: and the two grand juries declined to pursue anything because
- 25:38Speaker 1: I think their reason was lack of evidence.
- 25:42Speaker 2: You can't see me or hear me, but know that
- 25:45Speaker 2: my eyes have rolled all the way in the back
- 25:47Speaker 2: of my head. Wow.
- 25:50Speaker 1: It's a shame you're in North Carolina and not Tennessee
- 25:52Speaker 1: right now. I'd say, hey, there's a mayor out there
- 25:56Speaker 1: in Tennessee that is good at rolling his eyes in
- 25:59Speaker 1: the back of his head. And you probably know his brother.
- 26:01Speaker 1: It's The Undertaker.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I know nothing about wrestling.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Isn't there a rumor he's running for Senate next?
- 26:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I think something about Kane running for Senate. I
- 26:14Speaker 1: don't know the whole shtick on it. But again... That's
- 26:17Speaker 1: my thing, Brandon. I know it's controversial, but I'm willing
- 26:23Speaker 1: to go that route. And I will take the burning
- 26:28Speaker 1: and running over me with a car now from you.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Just know I'm disappointed in you.
- 26:37Speaker 3: And we bring in the meme, but his appointment is immeasurable.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Just think of it like whenever your parent tells you
- 26:45Speaker 2: that they're not angry, they're just disappointed.
- 26:47Speaker 3: A.K.A. every smoking God ever.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Actually, I think I know what Brandon really wants to
- 26:55Speaker 1: have happen, Nova, and you know what that is? Fool
- 26:59Speaker 1: this man!
- 27:00Speaker 3: Fool this man!
- 27:04Speaker 2: Read my mind like a book.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Well, in all fairness, I said my piece on that.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Let's move on to the Sunday, ladies and gentlemen.
- 27:19Speaker 3: And we'll start with London, because that was the 6.30 a.m.
- 27:23Speaker 3: game for the West Coast, 9.30 for you guys. And
- 27:26Speaker 3: it was Colts Commanders in London.
- 27:30Speaker 1: The Colts and the Commanders in London. Brandon, do you
- 27:35Speaker 1: like your tea with sugar cubes or honey?
- 27:39Speaker 2: I like mine in the Bay Harbor.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But Brandon, let's have you take this game.
- 27:50Speaker 2: I love it. I love making bad history jokes. First
- 27:56Speaker 2: of all, what was this by Washington? What happened?
- 27:59Speaker 3: I think Mariota got hurt. He did.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he got hurt. And then you have this random
- 28:04Speaker 2: backup QB come in and throw for 15. 50 for 33, 186,
- 28:07Speaker 2: a TD and a pick.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Ethan Kaliak-Manis.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Sure, let's go with that pronunciation.
- 28:17Speaker 1: And his touchdown was Traylon Burks on Sauce Gardner. He
- 28:21Speaker 1: burned Sauce Gardner for a 47-yarder and a 48-yarder.
- 28:26Speaker 3: He's definitely worth the first round picks, by the way.
- 28:29Speaker 3: He was definitely worth it.
- 28:31Speaker 2: That's fine. And he finished with a better QBR than
- 28:37Speaker 2: Daniel Jones did.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Yeah, where did the Colts receiver room go? This felt
- 28:42Speaker 3: like the Jonathan Taylor show all the way.
- 28:43Speaker 2: It was absolutely the Jonathan Taylor show.
- 28:45Speaker 1: It absolutely was the Jonathan Taylor show.
- 28:47Speaker 2: When he carries 95 yards and two scores along with
- 28:51Speaker 2: a single reception. I don't want to do that one. Yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 2: just Washington's secondary seemed to have it all kind of
- 28:56Speaker 2: locked down for the most part. They just couldn't stop
- 28:59Speaker 2: a nosebleed on the ground. So, you know, no big deal.
- 29:01Speaker 3: I also feel like people on social media are just like,
- 29:04Speaker 3: where the hell is the Josh Downs breakout game?
- 29:08Speaker 2: Yeah, he disappointed me in Fantasy 2. I'm kind of
- 29:10Speaker 2: mad about it.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he wasn't all that great. I mean, like, I'll
- 29:15Speaker 1: be honest. I was listening to this game, driving to
- 29:18Speaker 1: that cup, and all I hear is, oh, Marcus Mariota
- 29:23Speaker 1: is down. I'm like, what? And then I hear this name,
- 29:28Speaker 1: that Ethan Kaliakmanis, and I think I pronounced that name right.
- 29:33Speaker 3: You did, you did, you did.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yay! Yay, I did something right. um and i watched
- 29:40Speaker 1: him i mean he wasn't horrible in the game like
- 29:44Speaker 1: i mean again he's a he's a freaking third string
- 29:46Speaker 1: quarterback from rutgers who's drafted in the seventh round.
- 29:51Speaker 2: So you know mariota has an mcl spring in his
- 29:55Speaker 2: right knee.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Jesus christ can i ever catch a break or be
- 29:58Speaker 3: trying to get dan quinn fired.
- 30:01Speaker 1: And it's the exact same MCL that he sprained in
- 30:05Speaker 1: Atlanta that led to Desmond Ritter.
- 30:12Speaker 2: You'd rather have had Mariota.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I would have rather had a nosebleed. But in all fairness,
- 30:22Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, this was the Jonathan Taylor show. I mean,
- 30:25Speaker 1: 20 carries, 95 yards, two touchdowns. And I think it's
- 30:29Speaker 1: safe to say for the three of us, he was
- 30:32Speaker 1: drinking tea, NFL. They said it on the broadcast. He
- 30:38Speaker 1: was drinking tea.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Love it.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Like, please don't fine him.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Oh.
- 30:47Speaker 3: We're talking about this again?
- 30:48Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 30:48Speaker 3: We're going to have a big discussion about this with
- 30:50Speaker 3: two games. We're going to have a big discussion. But anyway,
- 30:53Speaker 3: Colts are now 2-2, but I think that says a
- 30:56Speaker 3: lot about their opponents rather than the Colts.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd go that far. I mean, and again, like
- 31:04Speaker 1: Daniel Jones, he had a fumble on the second play
- 31:06Speaker 1: of the game.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that surprised me.
- 31:09Speaker 3: The Commandos had a defensive touchdown from Deluxe at the
- 31:12Speaker 3: box score. We could check. Probably check that one.
- 31:15Speaker 1: But.
- 31:19Speaker 2: I do not see a defensive TD. Huh.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Oh, it's field goals. Okay.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Wait, was it? Oh, that was the second touchdown. They
- 31:27Speaker 3: just missed the PAT.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Wait.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Their kicker hit all field goals and all XPs.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Yeah. So one touchdown, two field goals.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I'm bad.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Cool.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yay, math.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I mean, it's also 9 o'clock for us and 6
- 31:47Speaker 1: o'clock for Nova, Brandon. I was asleep for this.
- 31:54Speaker 2: God, get up and watch football then. Jesus.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I mean, hopefully he will this Sunday when we talk
- 32:00Speaker 1: about the Week 5 slate. But moving on.
- 32:05Speaker 3: To the 10 o'clock window. Fashion 1 o'clock window.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Let's start with.
- 32:14Speaker 2: You might as well. You might as well.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Might as well. Let's talk about it. The Patriots shocking
- 32:22Speaker 1: the holy hell world with a win at Buffalo. Where
- 32:28Speaker 1: is Tom Brady when you need him on the microphone,
- 32:31Speaker 1: on the broadcast?
- 32:34Speaker 3: This one was I and E on Ross Tucker.
- 32:37Speaker 2: To quote Brady, the man only lost twice. In the
- 32:44Speaker 2: Highmark Stadium. Which honestly would be kind of insulting if
- 32:47Speaker 2: he didn't beat them 33 other times. I genuinely, I'm
- 32:53Speaker 2: pretty sure that as far as our official picks at
- 32:55Speaker 2: the end of last podcast were concerned, that I picked
- 32:58Speaker 2: Buffalo to win this one. Because I genuinely had no
- 33:03Speaker 2: faith in.
- 33:04Speaker 3: No, I'll interject here. We all picked Buffalo to win,
- 33:06Speaker 3: but I was the only one to call out that
- 33:07Speaker 3: this game would be close. You guys thought it would
- 33:09Speaker 3: be well outs.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I never thought it was going to be worse with
- 33:13Speaker 2: how we've been playing. I didn't expect Drake May to
- 33:15Speaker 2: show up and throw for 273 TDs and a pick. Which,
- 33:19Speaker 2: by the way, on that note, Drake May, do we
- 33:24Speaker 2: need to replace your fingers with the sticks of butter
- 33:27Speaker 2: that currently exist on them? Because this motherfucker can't hold
- 33:33Speaker 2: on to the ball to save his life. Because in
- 33:36Speaker 2: addition to the interception that he had, he also had
- 33:39Speaker 2: three fumbles.
- 33:42Speaker 3: How many did he lose?
- 33:43Speaker 2: He only lost one of them. To be fair, he
- 33:46Speaker 2: only lost one of them. But he still fumbled three times.
- 33:52Speaker 2: And Elijah Ponder recovered the other one. Or recovered another fumble, rather,
- 33:56Speaker 2: I should say. And I'm just over here going, what
- 34:00Speaker 2: in the holy hell are we doing? Like, why can
- 34:03Speaker 2: he not hang on to the ball? Also, Romeo Dobbs,
- 34:08Speaker 2: I owe you an apology. You can keep your helmet
- 34:10Speaker 2: on for as long as you would like if you
- 34:12Speaker 2: keep making TD catches like this. This is fine. This
- 34:16Speaker 2: is fine.
- 34:18Speaker 1: And how about Epton Chisholm?
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, Chisholm, yeah. That TD was fucking beautiful. That was
- 34:29Speaker 2: probably one of the cleanest one-handed go-ahead TDs I have
- 34:33Speaker 2: seen in recent memory. That was beautifully, the vision on
- 34:38Speaker 2: it was beautiful by him. Granted, I thought, again, please guys,
- 34:44Speaker 2: tell yourself if you disagree with me, I thought it
- 34:46Speaker 2: was just a hair bit overthrown had Chisholm not been
- 34:52Speaker 2: able to reach out like he did and grab it. Obviously,
- 34:56Speaker 2: you know, plays were made, but because he was able
- 35:00Speaker 2: to track the ball in the manner that he did,
- 35:02Speaker 2: was literally the game winner for us. And I think
- 35:06Speaker 2: this kind of goes back to what we were saying
- 35:10Speaker 2: of what happens when Buffalo's defense doesn't show up. I
- 35:17Speaker 2: think this was a game where, sorry, I think that
- 35:20Speaker 2: this was a game where Buffalo's defense did not show up.
- 35:24Speaker 2: I mean, we gave up 100, like as far as
- 35:26Speaker 2: our defense is concerned, we gave up 116 receiving yards
- 35:30Speaker 2: alone to Keon Coleman. And we gave up– well, we
- 35:34Speaker 2: had the run game locked down pretty hard. They only
- 35:38Speaker 2: came out of there with a total of 91 rushing yards.
- 35:40Speaker 2: 75 of them were to James Cook.
- 35:45Speaker 1: And it also says something about your running attack, Brandon,
- 35:48Speaker 1: when your leading rusher is Drake May.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Yeah. No, and that's totally fine because, like, as far
- 35:54Speaker 2: as we're concerned, like, Ramondre Stevenson and Travion Henderson couldn't
- 35:57Speaker 2: run their way out of a wet noodle. I mean,
- 35:59Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on with the run game lately. But,
- 36:02Speaker 2: you know, I mean, it's fine. I mean, we come
- 36:05Speaker 2: out of this with a win. You know, we contained
- 36:07Speaker 2: Dawson Knox. We contained Dalton Kincaid. You know, we kind
- 36:11Speaker 2: of let James Cook just beat James Cook. We forced
- 36:14Speaker 2: Josh Allen to be a pure passer. That's literally what
- 36:17Speaker 2: we did, is we forced him to be a pure passer.
- 36:19Speaker 2: And he left the game, you know, or he finished
- 36:22Speaker 2: the game, rather, with one TD, one pick, and a fumble.
- 36:26Speaker 2: I mean, he didn't lose the fumble, but he still
- 36:29Speaker 2: fumbled the ball. And... It was probably the more solid
- 36:35Speaker 2: game that we've played this entire season, and I hope
- 36:38Speaker 2: if Drake May loses the Butterfingers that he's got, we
- 36:43Speaker 2: might be okay. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know, because
- 36:48Speaker 2: next week we play the Raiders, so they're kind of scary.
- 36:52Speaker 2: They kind of worry me. We'll talk more about that later, though.
- 36:57Speaker 1: We'll talk more about that later, but Nova, how does
- 36:59Speaker 1: it feel seeing Josh Allen lose?
- 37:03Speaker 2: I love it.
- 37:05Speaker 3: You have to look back at that interception, that arm
- 37:07Speaker 3: punt he threw. He had a check down for a
- 37:08Speaker 3: first down. He decided to play hero ball, and I
- 37:10Speaker 3: think that's an issue for Josh Allen. Where it's like,
- 37:13Speaker 3: he tries to play too much of the hero ball,
- 37:15Speaker 3: and then the turnovers just happen from that. But otherwise... Yeah,
- 37:20Speaker 3: a little disappointed by Buffalo, but then again, I kind
- 37:23Speaker 3: of did call this up because for some reason, division
- 37:25Speaker 3: rivals always play close with each other, whereas neither team
- 37:29Speaker 3: wants to pull away from each other. And remember, last year,
- 37:33Speaker 3: the Patriots beat Buffalo at the old Highmark Stadium. They
- 37:36Speaker 3: do it again in the new Highmark Stadium. So it's like,
- 37:38Speaker 3: nothing's changed.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Fuck you, Buffalo. To kind of add on, sorry, I
- 37:47Speaker 2: keep cutting you off, Todd. I genuinely don't mean to. No,
- 37:49Speaker 2: it's fine. But to keep adding to the comment that
- 37:53Speaker 2: Nova made is Josh Allen played hero ball. And I
- 37:55Speaker 2: think this is what happens with Josh Allen whenever his
- 38:00Speaker 2: defense doesn't stand up and when his run game gets
- 38:04Speaker 2: bottled up. He's like, fuck, now I have to pass
- 38:07Speaker 2: the ball. Fuck it, Keon Coleman or Dalton Kincaid's down
- 38:10Speaker 2: there somewhere. By the way, do you want to talk
- 38:13Speaker 2: about Dalton Kincaid? He did practically nothing this game. Yes,
- 38:16Speaker 2: because we had that man covered like off-line on Russ.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Yeah, my tight end in fantasy was not great this week.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Nor were mine.
- 38:28Speaker 2: We didn't expect Donald Kincaid to come out of that, but,
- 38:31Speaker 2: you know, we're here and are there, I guess.
- 38:34Speaker 3: This was really the Keon Coleman game, and you know
- 38:37Speaker 3: how much fire he's been getting since last season.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he's been getting kind of fire since last year, but... Yeah,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I mean, when you try to play hero ball, it
- 38:49Speaker 1: can be a detriment. And we'll see how Buffalo fares
- 38:57Speaker 1: next week when we talk about it, because they've got
- 38:59Speaker 1: a big game coming up.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Who does Buffalo play next week?
- 39:04Speaker 1: Monday night against the Rams.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Oh, that's perfect.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Please be the Devontae Adams show again.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Now, do I mean the Aaron Donald show, Loki?
- 39:15Speaker 2: Please, XOXO. Rams, please throw to Devontae Adams. Please, TYSM.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Well, speaking of throwing, let's talk about the next game,
- 39:28Speaker 1: which is the Chicago Lakers. bears defeating the New York jets. Nova.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I'm a, we're going to have you take this one
- 39:35Speaker 1: because yes, you are the only one to pick the
- 39:39Speaker 1: jets to win this game, but at least the jets
- 39:43Speaker 1: did something right?
- 39:45Speaker 3: No, they did it. And that's why I'm disappointed because I,
- 39:49Speaker 3: I think you need to hear the stat. I think
- 39:50Speaker 3: the Bears had more... They had like... What was it?
- 39:55Speaker 3: It was something more than their offensive plays, which is wild.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Yeah, they had... Oh, more first.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Downs than offensive plays. There you go. Jesus.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Which.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Look, I'm going to be real. In my defense, when
- 40:08Speaker 3: I picked the Jets, I thought they were going to
- 40:09Speaker 3: show up like they did against the Lions like they
- 40:11Speaker 3: did against the Packers. I didn't think they just... they
- 40:14Speaker 3: lay a massive egg against the bears, especially because Tyson
- 40:17Speaker 3: Bajan took the starting job from case Keenum and Bajan
- 40:21Speaker 3: didn't look all that good, but the 23 to 12
- 40:25Speaker 3: score does a lot of masking for the jets. And, uh,
- 40:29Speaker 3: I gotta say a lot of disappointment with the jets,
- 40:32Speaker 3: but it really isn't their fault. It was just like
- 40:34Speaker 3: the bears just dominated the time of possession. And then
- 40:37Speaker 3: you have another great game from Kyle. My nun guy too.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you had a good game from Kyle Menunga at
- 40:43Speaker 1: 30 carries for 146 yards. He had the second most
- 40:48Speaker 1: rushing yards this week. And the number one and number
- 40:52Speaker 1: three are arguably better running backs than Menunga. But, I mean,
- 40:59Speaker 1: he is playing really well alongside, like, DeAndre Swift and
- 41:03Speaker 1: all that. I mean, I'm impressed by Ben Johnson that
- 41:06Speaker 1: he has won with three different starting quarterbacks this season.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I mean, he won with Caleb Williams. He won with
- 41:13Speaker 1: Case Keenum. He won with Tyson Bajan. Like, I don't know.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Should he be the front runner for coach of the
- 41:19Speaker 1: year right now?
- 41:21Speaker 2: I think we bumped the brakes on that one a
- 41:22Speaker 2: little bit.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Let's hear your defense then, Brandon. Let's hear your defense.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Chicago Bears, pump your brakes a little bit. They've not
- 41:29Speaker 2: really played anybody worthwhile either, in my opinion.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, they haven't really played anybody just yet.
- 41:38Speaker 1: But I will say, though, It is a negative on
- 41:42Speaker 1: Tyson Bajan when you are now the answer to the
- 41:45Speaker 1: trivia question. Who let the Jets get an interception off
- 41:50Speaker 1: of for the first time in two years?
- 41:53Speaker 3: Play the Final Fantasy VII Sound Fair.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Like, that was insane. Like, you see that interception and
- 42:03Speaker 1: you're just like, holy shit, the Jets actually did it.
- 42:07Speaker 1: They actually got a pick.
- 42:10Speaker 2: With Mika Fitzpatrick, nonetheless.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Wow, what a freaking fall from grace he's had.
- 42:17Speaker 3: You can think the Steelers trading him back to the
- 42:21Speaker 3: Dolphins for that one, to be real.
- 42:24Speaker 2: He was a diva. What can you expect?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, but hey, at least he broke the
- 42:32Speaker 1: Jets streak. Now, I will also say this before we
- 42:36Speaker 1: go to the next game. Do we think Aaron Glenn's
- 42:39Speaker 1: seat is getting hotter?
- 42:41Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 42:42Speaker 3: He's not surviving the year. Let's be real.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Yeah, probably not surviving the year, which is unfortunate because
- 42:49Speaker 1: I think his players really try to play for him
- 42:53Speaker 1: and they just aren't getting the results on the field
- 42:57Speaker 1: and then you couple it with the New York media.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Those guys are sharks. But moving on, let's talk about
- 43:07Speaker 1: the Battle of the Caps. And the Jaguars defeating the
- 43:12Speaker 1: Cincinnati Bengals. Where are my trumpeters and my robes and
- 43:19Speaker 1: my blonde wig so I can be Nick Wright for
- 43:21Speaker 1: branded right now?
- 43:23Speaker 3: No, the better question to ask is where are your flags?
- 43:27Speaker 2: That's also a pretty good question too.
- 43:30Speaker 3: There is an abnormal amount of penalties in this game.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Yeah, like, I don't understand why there were fucking 24
- 43:40Speaker 2: penalties called on this game. For reference, 13 penalties for
- 43:46Speaker 2: Jacksonville for 125 yards and 11 penalties for Cincy for
- 43:49Speaker 2: a total of 108 yards.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Flag.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Flag.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Flag.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Flag.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Flag.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Flag.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Do we think that the Bengals defense is finally showing
- 44:07Speaker 3: its ways? Because I think it's going backwards now.
- 44:12Speaker 2: I think this game's a pretty rough indicative of that
- 44:15Speaker 2: because of all the penalties.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Yeah, but also, Joe Burrow, look at the box score.
- 44:19Speaker 3: 400 yards and he still throws two picks.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but when you also throw the ball 54 times,
- 44:26Speaker 1: I mean.
- 44:28Speaker 2: I mean, for reference, they only had 23 rushing yards.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 44:35Speaker 1: What is it with teams and rushing the ball right
- 44:39Speaker 1: now that there are some that are great, a cough-cough Atlanta,
- 44:44Speaker 1: cough-cough Baltimore, and teams that are horrible at running the ball?
- 44:50Speaker 2: Cough-cough New England. Oh, no. Okay, we're not doing that bit. Okay,
- 44:55Speaker 2: that's fine.
- 45:00Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 45:00Speaker 2: The answer is still correct.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Yes, the answer is still correct. But I'll say this. T. Higgins,
- 45:08Speaker 1: 11 catches for 157 yards. Like, that's pretty damn impressive
- 45:15Speaker 1: right there for T. Higgins. And then on the Jaguars side,
- 45:19Speaker 1: I mean, Trevor Lawrence, I mean, that's a really damn
- 45:23Speaker 1: good completion for attempts. 18-23 for 227 of I don't
- 45:31Speaker 1: even know who the hell this is. Bayshul Tootin?
- 45:37Speaker 3: He was like a third running back last year.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I had never heard of him before, but evidently
- 45:46Speaker 1: 17 carries for 73 yards. I mean, that's pretty damn good.
- 45:51Speaker 1: And then Brenton Strange, seven receptions, 95 yards. The study
- 45:57Speaker 1: has to be done, though, about... Like, I'm even looking
- 46:00Speaker 1: at the defense side. Look at it. Travis Hunter had
- 46:04Speaker 1: four tackles, but is he supposed to be a two-way
- 46:09Speaker 1: player or is he supposed to be on defense now?
- 46:12Speaker 3: He's on defense mostly for now.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and he had some pretty good plays. I will
- 46:17Speaker 2: give him that much.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Three solo tackles, too, so that's good for a corner.
- 46:23Speaker 1: And two passes defense. That's pretty damn good.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Bad news for Cincy, though. Jamar Chase got concussed.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Yeah, now that ain't good. But that probably explains why T.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Higgins has 11 for 157. Because he slid into the
- 46:39Speaker 1: number one receiver role when Jamar went down.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Yeah, which is not great. But yeah, Cincinnati's not a
- 46:48Speaker 3: second loss in a row. I mean, this is also
- 46:50Speaker 3: Jacksonville's second win in a row. I think this could
- 46:54Speaker 3: be a sign of things to come because it looks
- 46:56Speaker 3: like Cincinnati is finally coming down to earth and Jacksonville
- 46:58Speaker 3: is finally figuring out something since getting a Broncos devil magic.
- 47:02Speaker 1: But do you guys, do you guys think that Jacksonville
- 47:06Speaker 1: is now the front runner in the AFC.
- 47:09Speaker 3: In the South?
- 47:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I don't think AFC.
- 47:11Speaker 2: No. Yeah. No, I have not. I agree with that.
- 47:14Speaker 2: And they have seen that AFC South. Yes.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:18Speaker 1: So, I mean, it'll be interesting to see what they
- 47:20Speaker 1: do because, uh, I mean, again, we'll talk about the
- 47:23Speaker 1: previews in a little bit, but it's going to be
- 47:26Speaker 1: their time in London coming up soon.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Ah, great.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Another game I might miss.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Yeah. Moving on to our next game. You know, we
- 47:37Speaker 1: were talking about Battle of the Cats. Let's talk about
- 47:40Speaker 1: a Battle of the Bays. Tampa Bay and Green Bay. Oh,
- 47:47Speaker 1: my God.
- 47:47Speaker 3: I'm sure so many people didn't want to watch this
- 47:49Speaker 3: game because of how... you know, the low morale for
- 47:52Speaker 3: the Packers and then whatever the heck is happening in Tampa.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Again, I said it last week. I'll say it
- 47:59Speaker 1: again this week. Bucks fans, we tried to warn you
- 48:06Speaker 1: about Zach Robinson, but you didn't listen to us. So
- 48:15Speaker 1: this is what you fucking get.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Do we know who hired Zach Robinson in the front office,
- 48:21Speaker 3: or do we just know it's just the organization?
- 48:24Speaker 1: Just the organization, I think, because.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Okay, I was going to say, if that was a
- 48:28Speaker 3: move by Bruce Arias or the Glazers, then what did
- 48:30Speaker 3: they see?
- 48:32Speaker 1: I can tell you what Bruce Arians is probably thinking
- 48:35Speaker 1: right now, and we'll talk about him in a little
- 48:38Speaker 1: bit when we talk about a couple of other games
- 48:41Speaker 1: on the slate. But, yeah, no, Bruce Arians would have
- 48:45Speaker 1: never hired Zach Robinson after watching how Zach Robinson played
- 48:50Speaker 1: or coached in Atlanta because, my God, I mean, I
- 48:53Speaker 1: get you're playing an undrafted free agent rookie quarterback game,
- 48:58Speaker 1: But your play calling is so moribund, so ass. Like,
- 49:05Speaker 1: last time I checked, wasn't Emeka Egbuka supposed to be
- 49:08Speaker 1: the replacement to Mike Evans? How does he have two
- 49:12Speaker 1: receptions for 13 yards and is only targeted four times?
- 49:17Speaker 3: Also, where's Chris Godwin?
- 49:20Speaker 1: Yeah, six receptions for 31 yards.
- 49:24Speaker 3: What were you going to say, Brandon? You started something.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say it's with the rest
- 49:29Speaker 2: of the team and just not being existent. I mean,
- 49:33Speaker 2: you know.
- 49:35Speaker 3: I never thought this would be the season that would
- 49:36Speaker 3: be transparent for Tampa. I didn't think they'd be 0-4
- 49:39Speaker 3: by the start. I thought they'd be like 2-2. Yeah,
- 49:43Speaker 3: but that was also before Baker got hurt.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, and now Baker might be out for
- 49:51Speaker 1: six weeks, guys.
- 49:52Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it all depends on how he can grip a
- 49:56Speaker 1: football because, again, it's a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand. So.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Thank God he got paid, I guess. Yeah, I.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Remember how we said it, Brandon? We said Baker Mayfield
- 50:09Speaker 1: was not worth $ 50 million a year?
- 50:11Speaker 2: Yeah... I mean, I can't really do anything about him
- 50:17Speaker 2: getting hurt, though.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the only time where it's like, uh... I
- 50:21Speaker 3: don't think we can talk about the money if he
- 50:23Speaker 3: got hurt, because then you don't have an interaction with
- 50:25Speaker 3: what's going on, because we don't usually know Baker Mayfield
- 50:28Speaker 3: is injury-prone. Usually, he.
- 50:32Speaker 2: He usually tops through it if it's, you know, someone
- 50:35Speaker 2: that's worth toughing through.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he definitely tops it through. And also, I just
- 50:40Speaker 1: want to point this out here. The one fumble for
- 50:43Speaker 1: Tampa Bay, this is their center that fumbled the ball.
- 50:49Speaker 1: And do you guys know how he fumbled the ball?
- 50:52Speaker 3: He just rubbed the ball in the dirt?
- 50:54Speaker 2: No.
- 50:56Speaker 1: He pulled a Mark Sanchez. He fumbled it off his
- 50:59Speaker 1: own ass cheeks.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Love it.
- 51:05Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 51:07Speaker 1: This game was absolutely horrible. The fact that it was
- 51:13Speaker 1: 17-14 is crazy enough as it is. The fact that
- 51:16Speaker 1: they got into a range for Chase McLaughlin to kick
- 51:21Speaker 1: a game-tying 65-yard fugal, which people forget. Chase McLaughlin hit
- 51:26Speaker 1: a 65-yarder in that stadium. Was it last year or
- 51:30Speaker 1: two years ago?
- 51:31Speaker 3: It was last year.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Okay, it was last year. He had a 65-yarder in Tampa,
- 51:36Speaker 1: and they didn't go for it. Or they didn't go
- 51:38Speaker 1: for the field goal. They went for it on 4th
- 51:40Speaker 1: and 11, and they failed. You have a kicker.
- 51:44Speaker 3: I pointed it out a couple episodes ago. You have
- 51:47Speaker 3: a really good kicker. Why are you not using him?
- 51:50Speaker 1: Not using him at all. And then after the game,
- 51:54Speaker 1: Tristan Wurfs, when asked about Todd Bowles, he said, no comment.
- 51:59Speaker 3: He's lost the locker room. There's no way he hasn't.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he is not going to make it through or
- 52:08Speaker 1: past the end of the year, if you ask me.
- 52:10Speaker 1: But I don't know how. I mean, if they do
- 52:15Speaker 1: pull the trigger and fire him midseason, it'll be the
- 52:18Speaker 1: first time in franchise history they do that, guys.
- 52:21Speaker 3: Yeah, which is what Chicago did two years ago with
- 52:24Speaker 3: Matt Eberflus.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Yep.
- 52:28Speaker 3: And knowing their luck, they're going to promote Zach Robinson
- 52:30Speaker 3: to head coach.
- 52:31Speaker 1: I would fucking love that. I would love that because
- 52:35Speaker 1: I feel like Tampa Bay would collectively burn. They would
- 52:40Speaker 1: find a way to take the water out of the
- 52:43Speaker 1: bay and evaporate it with their fury. And that would
- 52:47Speaker 1: be hilarious.
- 52:49Speaker 3: At least they have the Rays.
- 52:52Speaker 1: At least they have the Rays, but at least for
- 52:54Speaker 1: the Bucs.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Oh, we never talked about the Packers.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 52:58Speaker 3: We never talked about the Packers. You're not getting out
- 52:59Speaker 3: of this one. You look disappointing again.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I'm disappointed again.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Yes. If Tampa's as bad as they are, how did
- 53:09Speaker 3: you only win by three?
- 53:12Speaker 1: Brandon, you got an answer.
- 53:13Speaker 2: For that one? No, no. I got nothing for you, bud.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I got nothing either.
- 53:22Speaker 3: This team's finishing last in the NFC North. Mark my words.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Oh, without question. I mean, they... But again, it doesn't help.
- 53:30Speaker 1: I mean, look at it. 86 rushing yards. As a team.
- 53:37Speaker 3: It's better than what they take in Atlanta.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 53:39Speaker 1: 17. Thank you very much.
- 53:45Speaker 3: We're just troubling right now with both these teams because
- 53:48Speaker 3: they're going on paths that we didn't think they'd be going.
- 53:52Speaker 3: From disappointment to where the hell are the refs? What
- 53:55Speaker 3: the hell are the refs doing? Let's go with the
- 53:58Speaker 3: Cardinals Giants. Brandon, you can start with this one.
- 54:00Speaker 4: Hey.
- 54:03Speaker 2: So, first of all, Jameis Winston, what are we doing, buddy?
- 54:09Speaker 2: What are we doing throwing three TDs at a game?
- 54:11Speaker 2: Where has this been? Where has this been?
- 54:14Speaker 3: It's been in his pre-game and post-game speeches.
- 54:18Speaker 2: It's been fucking somewhere. No, Jameis Winston put on a
- 54:24Speaker 2: typical Jameis Winston performance today, right? And if there's one
- 54:29Speaker 2: thing that I have learned from watching the recaps of
- 54:33Speaker 2: this game and just kind of turning around and being
- 54:35Speaker 2: able to go back through other people who have, you know,
- 54:39Speaker 2: NFL and I get to watch the games through there
- 54:41Speaker 2: at work because God bless you individuals. The Giants defense
- 54:46Speaker 2: is a nightmare.
- 54:48Speaker 3: So Abdul Carter is finally emerging or something?
- 54:53Speaker 2: It's Arvel Reese, brother. Arvel Reese has been the star
- 54:57Speaker 2: of the show. Because some stats here. This is his
- 55:02Speaker 2: final stat line against the Cardinals, okay? 66 total defensive snaps.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Nine total tackles. Three passes defended. Five stops. One interception.
- 55:20Speaker 2: All of those led the team. Oh, wow. only allowed
- 55:26Speaker 2: six receptions for a total of 36 yards.
- 55:34Speaker 3: And we really thought this team was done with Jackson
- 55:35Speaker 3: Dark on her. And lo and behold, another team, Brandon Dock,
- 55:39Speaker 3: will go 0-17, leading their division.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just sitting over here going like, well, first
- 55:44Speaker 2: of all, this John's defense looks kind of scary because
- 55:48Speaker 2: you guys remember the other scary John's player that wore
- 55:53Speaker 2: a number in the 50s?
- 55:55Speaker 3: Lawrence Taylor.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Lawrence Taylor. This man's looking kind of scary. And then
- 56:00Speaker 2: at the same time, in that same regards, you have
- 56:03Speaker 2: Deontay Banks who put on a masterclass as well. Four
- 56:06Speaker 2: passes defended, three breakups, only three receptions that were allowed
- 56:11Speaker 2: for over eight. Sorry, three receptions allowed over eight targets.
- 56:17Speaker 2: 19 total yards allowed. And whenever his area was targeted previously,
- 56:24Speaker 2: by Jacoby Brissett allowed a 45.8 passer rating and had
- 56:30Speaker 2: the game-winning pick six.
- 56:32Speaker 3: I mean, it wasn't really game-winning.
- 56:34Speaker 2: I mean, it's deep ceiling. It was the game was
- 56:36Speaker 2: already over.
- 56:38Speaker 3: He just did it because he wanted to show off.
- 56:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't fucking run it back to what do you mean?
- 56:43Speaker 2: If I have an option to run that bitch into
- 56:46Speaker 2: the end zone, the game over girl, I'm taking that
- 56:48Speaker 2: thing for a TD. But yeah, no.
- 56:53Speaker 1: I I'd probably do the same. I'd probably take it.
- 56:58Speaker 2: This is my moment. Yeah. But like going back to
- 57:03Speaker 2: going back to our Val Reese, remember this man's only
- 57:05Speaker 2: a rookie. He is the first rookie linebacker in 20
- 57:09Speaker 2: years to have nine or more tackles, one or more
- 57:13Speaker 2: interceptions and three PBUs in a single game.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's crazy. And yeah, I also pointed out... You
- 57:25Speaker 3: guys picked the Cardinals to win, and I was the
- 57:26Speaker 3: only one to pick the Giants.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Yep, you were the only one to pick the Giants, but...
- 57:32Speaker 1: I was.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Hoping it would be a Trey McBride show.
- 57:35Speaker 3: Oh, it is a Trey McBride show.
- 57:37Speaker 2: It is. Don't worry. It is. No, it was not. No,
- 57:39Speaker 2: it wasn't.
- 57:40Speaker 3: Yes, it was.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Three receptions for... Or seven receptions for 31 yards. It
- 57:44Speaker 2: was definitely not the Trey McBride show.
- 57:46Speaker 3: No, it was, because he caught an F-bomb from a ref. Oh,
- 57:48Speaker 3: that's fine, too. That's fine. Fuck!
- 57:53Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 57:55Speaker 2: I did catch that too.
- 57:56Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why.
- 57:58Speaker 3: Like, what is William at the rest? Like, what did
- 58:00Speaker 3: Trevor bring to you?
- 58:02Speaker 2: Also, one of the things that I really like seeing,
- 58:05Speaker 2: and I don't know if you guys really paid attention
- 58:07Speaker 2: to this or not, is, and this is coming from
- 58:11Speaker 2: someone who has played football before. Like, I don't know
- 58:13Speaker 2: if you guys have played your own youth leagues or
- 58:15Speaker 2: if you played in school or anything like that yourselves.
- 58:18Speaker 2: But I personally like really watching pass protection from players
- 58:23Speaker 2: who don't typically pass protect. Example being Cam Scataboo.
- 58:32Speaker 3: That man is a fucking psychopath on pass protection.
- 58:37Speaker 2: This man is pancaking everybody into the ground. And it's
- 58:43Speaker 2: the funniest thing I've ever seen. Because he's just like,
- 58:47Speaker 2: nah man, fuck you.
- 58:48Speaker 3: And just.
- 58:49Speaker 2: it just like runs into a fucking light pole they're
- 58:52Speaker 2: like all right if i'm going down you're going down with.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Me bitch but you ain't getting past me hey that's
- 58:57Speaker 3: the winning mentality at least i.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Love it i love it you know my neighbors.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Huh go you talk about many neighbors because.
- 59:05Speaker 2: Yeah also to malik neighbors takes receptions 112 receiving yards
- 59:10Speaker 2: and a TD. Malachi Fields has a TD. Theo Johnson
- 59:14Speaker 2: has a TD.
- 59:15Speaker 1: It was.
- 59:18Speaker 2: An all-around decent receiving performance. Only 87 rushing yards for
- 59:25Speaker 2: New York, though. But Jacoby Brissett just looked really bad.
- 59:30Speaker 2: He looked really bad.
- 59:33Speaker 3: We talked about Carson Beck in the Hall of Fame
- 59:35Speaker 3: game all that time ago. When's the time for the
- 59:38Speaker 3: Cardinals to start experimenting with Carson Beck?
- 59:41Speaker 2: I think it depends on how they play next week, too.
- 59:44Speaker 2: But when I say them, I mean the Arizona Cardinals,
- 59:47Speaker 2: because next week they do play the Lions. And we'll
- 59:50Speaker 2: kind of touch more on that later, too. But if
- 59:53Speaker 2: they don't improve, I definitely think this could be the
- 59:55Speaker 2: Carson Beck show. there's not really a good spot to
- 59:59Speaker 2: fit him in because the Cardinals go Lions, Rams, Broncos, Cowboys,
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Seahawks in that order. So there's not really a good
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: slot to fit him in there. At least Marvin Harrison
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: got a touchdown. Yeah, he got a touchdown on one
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: of the leagues that I actually decided to bench him in. Yay!
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: It's fine. It's fine. He had one catch that happened
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: to be a TD. Also, as far as the Giants
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: are concerned, Tyrone Tracy can't hang on to the football,
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: but that's okay because he only had one carry. So
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: he didn't have, he was not given an opportunity to
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: fumble the football.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: Oh, somebody did though. That didn't even Najee Harris.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: It was the Najee Harris. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Also fun fact.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Do we remember?
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: I think it was last week or the week before
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: somewhere along there, the giants released Odell Beckham jr. And
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: they signed Braxton Berrios. Well, now Braxton Berrios is going
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: under season-ending IR for a lower leg injury he suffered
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: on Sunday. So what depth does this receiving core have
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: for the Giants? The answer is zero. So where do
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: they go from here?
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: I mean, they got Darnell Mooney, so....
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Darnell Mooney was targeted twice and didn't catch anything.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Exactly. So he's doing exactly what he did in Atlanta.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: Exactly. Like, who are our free agent wide receivers right now?
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Tyreek Hill. Tyreek Hill's going back to the Chiefs. I'm
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: calling it right now. Tyreek Hill's going back to the Chiefs.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: I think it's pretty self-explanatory.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: Any closing thoughts, Talon?
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I mean, that referee deserved to be suspended for two games.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: For sure. I mean, they can always sign Darius Slayton
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: or DeAndre Hopkins.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: I need to point out again, Hopkins is coaching a
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: George Tech.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think Nuke is coming back to the league.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Teddy Bridgewater quit coaching like a middle school or high
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: school and came back for a short period of time,
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: then said, nah, fuck you, never mind.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Well, the reason why he went back to the NFL
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: was also because he got suspended in Florida because he
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: was illegally providing benefits to his players, and the benefits
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: were car rides to the game and meals.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: He got suspended for that?
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Yeah, imagine getting suspended for being a good person. What
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: is wrong with society?
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Yeah, people thought... People were like, oh, it's an unfair
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: advantage because he has all this money.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: That's an advantage?
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: That's just... What? Yeah, like, he got suspended for giving
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: his players a car ride. Obviously, nothing has happened. I
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: do understand the kind of stigma around that. I do.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: I get it. It's a weird world in today's society.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: It truly is. But paying for them to eat and
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: getting in trouble for it, that's kind of crazy to me.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Yeah, so see, they suspended him because I got the
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: article online. Here, so you got, they suspended him to
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: reveal that he spent $ 700 a week on Uber rides.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: He also spent $ 14, 000 for a four-night preseason camp, $ 9, 500
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: on clothing for the team, $ 1, 300 per week for post-game
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: recovery trucks, and $ 2, 200 for pre-game meals.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: And you're meaning to tell me that you want to
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: just get him in trouble for doing good?
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Yeah, for being a good person.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: This world is truly evil.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but I can tell you, I can tell you again,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: that kind of was truly evil. Uh, let's talk about
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: the Titans and the Ravens Nova. I, I mean, I
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: don't have much notes on this one.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: This is more of a quiet game, but I have
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: my concerns out there. This one, especially after what happened
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: in the second half. So first quarter, second quarter passed
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: on really good. Other than the Tony Pollard touchdown in
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: the first quarter by the Titans, which, uh, yeah, he,
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: The Titans are slowly getting there with a rushing attack
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: with Tony Pollard. Then Lamar Jackson came alive. You know,
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: he had that touchdown to Zay Flowers. Then he found
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Mark Andrews in the back of the end zone second quarter.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: And then, for God's sake, you guys have to respect
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Tyler Luke now. He hit a 64-yarder on M &
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: T Bank before halftime. 64! I want that to sink
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: in with you two first.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: I mean, a 64-yard kick? That is... That's pretty damn
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: good considering the fact that for the longest time, Nova,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: you were advocating for any other kicker in the league
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: instead of Tyler Luke. Except maybe one specific kicker that
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: used to kick in Baltimore.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but then it was mostly bad news. Lamar Jackson
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: leaves the game with an ankle injury, so we had
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: to put in Tyler Huntley. I mean, I didn't think
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Huntley played terrible, but the issue is it's like, The
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: offense was just flat. They didn't really do much with Huntley.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Derrick Henry was any stuffed. Our receiver game was really
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: not benefiting. We actually had a couple of injuries as well.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: I need to put this up in the freaking thing.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: Where are you? Oh, yeah. Durham Smythe tore his Achilles.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Marlon Humphrey leaves on a cart. Lamar Jackson's out with
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: an ankle injury in the second quarter. So for some reason,
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: we allowed the Titans back in this game. Ken Ward
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: just kept fighting Carmel to hate all game. He eventually
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: got that touchdown. And suddenly I'm like, oh, please don't
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: do this again to me. We've been through it already.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: We faintly recovered the onside kick. Ravens escape with a win,
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: but this was ugly to say the least.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it was an ugly game for Baltimore. I mean,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I understand why you guys kept Lamar out of the
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: second half because you're just like, okay, I mean, it's
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: the Titans. We still partly can't be that bad.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: I mean, it's, it could, I don't think, I don't
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: think Tyler Huntley did terrible. It was like the office
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: was a slot.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: It could have been worse. You could have had Cooper
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: rush again.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Don't remind me. We had to go for this before
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: you had talent. Remember that. Just remember that. Between you
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: and me, we went for Cooper Rush first. I mean, Brandon,
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: he's got me there, right?
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Yeah, just a bit.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Never again. Tyler Huntley's the perfect backer for the team,
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: but you can tell he was just not prepared for
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: the game. Kind of like Jameis Winston against the Rams.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he wasn't ready for it, but he might
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: have to be ready on Sunday. Because there's an outside
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: chance that Lamar. plays on Sunday, which, if you believe
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Brandon's favorite talking head, Nick Wright, because they did a
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: segment about this today on First Things First, where Nick
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Wright talked about Ian Rapoport's tweet, and he was like,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: so I actually understand insider Twitter lingo. And he was like, Dusty,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: let me see the tweet. And they put the tweet
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: up there, and he was like, outside chance, meaning... He's
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: out this week. Again, this is Nick Wright we're talking
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: about here. So, Brandon, thoughts on Nick Wright's comment?
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: I don't really pay attention to Nick Wright. I'm going
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: to be so, so, so for real with you right now.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: You mentioned Nick Wright, and I just kind of quit listening.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: I don't blame you. I don't blame you. But, yeah,
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: mostly concerns on the Ravens side. Because not only did
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: we fall flat in the second half because of Tyler Huntley,
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: you know, not expecting to beat her because of Lamar
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: Jackson's ankle sprain, which, by the way, is a day-to-day injury.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: So there's a chance he could play against Atlanta next week.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: But I don't think he should, to be honest, because
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: we have better things to take care of, like the division.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: But also, you want to scroll down and look at
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: the penalties? That's concerning that they got, like, 13 penalties
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: for over 120 yards. Like, good God.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: We're like one of the most penalized teams in the
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: league right now, and this isn't helping.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that is. That's concerning right there. 13 penalties for
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: 131 yards. It says.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: A lot as well, because most of our offensive lines decimated.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: We have Vega Ioane, our right guard, playing center because
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: we don't have centers anymore. So I'm happy for this win,
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: but mostly my notes were quiet because, again, this is
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: the Titans we're talking about. The only positive the Titans
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: have is Carnell Tate. That's the only positive they got
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: out of this game.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Yeah, in all fairness, I will say at least Cam
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Moore didn't look like a– because, again, we said it
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: last week. He looked like a bust against the Giants.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Hey, hold on, hold on, hold on. Did you not
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: see his first throw?
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: In this game? Yeah.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: He literally pulled off something that Will Levis would do.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Short pass, middle intended for Tony Pollard. Intercepted at the
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Baltimore 39.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: You know it's actually more hilarious if you actually see
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: the video of that freaking interception it's actually more hilarious
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: when you see it.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: You know normally you would think they would have had
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: the like videos but I guess they don't have.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: It I'll find it hold on I'll find it yeah
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: so I'm over here reading up on the Baltimore penalties
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: this weekend from this weekend and according to an article
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: from ESPN it says the Ravens total 39 penalties this
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: season are tied for the most by a Ravens team
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: through four games since 2000. And Baltimore has a total
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: of 329 penalty yards this season, and it ranks behind
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: only the Green Bay Packers, who have 344 yards of penalties.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: In addition, the Ravens offense... has accounted for 61% of
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: the team's penalties with 24 penalties. The other 11, or
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: I'm sorry, 11 of those are false starts that come
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: from the second most in the NFL.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Jesus.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: And that's something Jesse Minter pointed out in his press conference.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: It's like, they got to do better on the penalties
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: because this is undisciplined. This is going to lose the
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Ravens a lot more games than they'd like. And also,
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: I did send a video for you guys to look at.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: You guys can look at it. Just use it right now.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: You can put it up on the screen.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Well, here you go. Listen to this one. At the
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: end of that same article, a high rate of penalties
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: have produced mixed results for Baltimore. In the sixth season,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: where the Ravens have totaled over 120 penalties, they did
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: not have a winning record three times. 2005, 2015, and 2016.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: They won the AFC North three times. 2003, 2012, and 2024.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: And one year in which they had over 120 penalties
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: was 2012, in which they won a Super Bowl. Okay,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: so it's all over the place with the statistics. Nice.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: It's all over the place.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Exactly. And also, I just saw the interception now, and
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: my God, that was a horrible decision by Cam Ward.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: That was absolutely horrible. It was dumb. You're getting sacked.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Just take the sack.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: I want Brandon to look at it, because that's something
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: Will Levis would do.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: Honestly, Brandon, he might be right.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Oh, here we go. Hold on a second. Here it is.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: Also, is it saying something when Cam Ward for a
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: game had the same amount of passing yards that Lamar
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: had in a half?
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: What was this?
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: What is this?
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: You tell me.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: No, I can't back up without logging into Twitter, and
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: Play the sound clip. Just play the sound clip for
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: that one, please.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I'll do two of them.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: We're keeping a book right now, we ass.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Oh, brother, this guy stinks!
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: That's pretty much all I have to say. Like, I'm
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: concerned for my Ravens, but the Titans, I mean, despite,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: I mean, nothing looks good from the Titans. The only
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: thing that ever looked good was Carnell Tate.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: This commentator sounds like he's about to just fucking bust
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: a gut laughing at this.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like the low end of the CBS roster
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: right now. Him and Luke Eakley.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of commentary, we'll talk about one commentary in
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: a little bit, but let's talk about Rams-Philly. Let's get
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: that game pretty quick.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: Oh, my God. This is the last game with the
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: 10 o'clock window, I think.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: No, we never talked about Dallas-Houston.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Oh, this one's up there, too, because Brandon has a
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: lot for this.
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: I just want to make a real comment on this,
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: because first of all, what the fuck happened to Jalen Hurts?
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: I hate Philadelphia teams, but hold on. Let me pull
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: up this post real quick because I forgot that it
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: was that close to this. Where is that news?
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Philly fans are going to Jalen Hurts again,
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: aren't they?
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: No, don't do it. I want to do it. This
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: motherfucker really saw Jalen Hurts play How many passing yards
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: did Jalen Hurts have in the second half of the
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: Rams game? Would you like to know the answer to this?
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: Because the answer is 10.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: The motherfucker had 10 passing yards of his 93 passing
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: yards against the Rams. This motherfucker played so badly, Lane
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: Johnson said, I'm done, see you guys later, and retired immediately. Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Lane Johnson posted his retirement announcement five hours ago.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: Yeah, five hours ago on October 6th, if anybody, like,
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: watch this.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: Like, this is supposed to be this weird high-flying, silly
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: offense with Jalen Hurts at the helm. Jalen Hurts. OK,
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: and this is this is me genuinely being non-biased because,
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: you know, I mean, even though Jalen Hurts did eventually
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: end his CFP career with Oklahoma, he was at Alabama
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: for a while as well. So obviously I am very
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: familiar with seeing Jalen Hurts play in college. He was
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: a very good dual threat QB. in terms of the
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: fact that he could run the ball. And then he
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: also overthrew or just ground the ball ball into the
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: dirt a lot. Um, he was, he was not a
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: very good quarterback and this, and with Jalen was also
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: roughly the same time where we were going dual QBs with, um,
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Jalen and with to a talkie Valoa. And it was,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: it was not a good time for Alabama. It was,
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: it was, it was not a very cash money time. Um,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts is playing like I always thought he played
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: at Alabama. And that's not very good. I don't know
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: if this was just the Rams defense looking above average,
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: I guess, for lack of a better term, or if
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: this was just Jalen Hurts just flat out forgetting how
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: the fuck to play football.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Because remember, Miles Garrett's on IR, and I remember Aaron
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: Donald didn't play in this game.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: No, he didn't play in this game.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, no, he didn't play in this game either. So
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: there was no, there were none of them, neither of them,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: neither Miles Garrett nor Aaron Donald in this game.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: And I'm sitting here going, what are you guys doing?
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: I mean, he got hit seven times. I have a
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: better question to ask. I have a better question to ask.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Are we sure it's all Jalen Hurts' fault, or is
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: it Nick Sirianni with another terrible OC hire with Sean Mannion?
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: It's just not even that, man. Jalen Hurts has always
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: been kind of and forth, except this time he's just
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: kind of been really bad. Like the years that he
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: played and actually did reasonably well, like Philly had a
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: really good setup of a receiving core. And, you know,
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: they had a pretty decent offensive line. And again, like
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: at Alabama, because during those years that he was with
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: the Tide, our offensive line was not the best thing
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: in the world, even though we made it to the
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: championship game. It just, it wasn't, it was not the best.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: And it really showed much like it showed in this
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Rams game, how exposed Jalen hurts gets whenever you exploit
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: his offensive weaknesses. And like, I'm glad I've benched him
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: in fantasy, but, but he just, he wasn't very good.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: Saquon got hurt. He'd Saquon fumbled the ball. Jalen fumbled
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: the ball. It didn't take big speak. I hurt too.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: Tank Bixby got hurt, too, I'm pretty sure. Like, Tank
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Bixby had 14 carries for 55 yards. Still not the best. Whatever.
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: It's Will Shipley time. Yeah, it's Will Shipley time for sure.
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: It's something time. Darius Cooper had their only TDs. He
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: had three receptions for 33 yards and two TDs on
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: seven targets because I guess Jalen Hurts doesn't know how
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: to aim. He looks like Jameis Winston did before eye surgery.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: Like, I don't know. I don't know, man. Is it
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: time to sound the alarm in Philadelphia for Jalen or
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: for Nick Sirianni?
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: I think it's been time for Sirianni.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Let's be real. Yeah, it's definitely time for Sirianni. I
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: don't know about Jalen. I don't know, man.
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: That year they won the Super Bowl. Remember, Kellen Moore
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: was the premier OC.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: He was. They had a really good OC. They also
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: had a really good offense. line. Like, outside of having
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: a good OC, that offensive line was actually very stout.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Yeah. I actually have more concerns for the Rams because, like, look,
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: they came back and won this game and made Philadelphia
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: right again, but Can we please talk about Matthew Stafford
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: not having a good game either?
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: It's not really hard to make Philly riot, though. But,
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: I mean, whenever you're Matt Stafford having to throw the
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: ball 51 times.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it's the same thing we said with
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Joe Burrow. I mean, if you're throwing the ball over
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: 50 times a game.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Arguably, 40.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: 40 is pushing. I'll say at least if you're throwing
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: the ball 50 times. I would actually go so far
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: as to say two interceptions might be minuscule.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: And one of them was to Cooper Dejean.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: But again, like looking at the Eagles again, I mean, again, yeah,
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts only had 93 yards. But again, look at
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: this receiving core. Darius Cooper, Makai. I mean, Makai Lemon's
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: supposed to be this great. Was he a first round pick?
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: Yes, he's first round pick from USC.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Yes, I mean, there's that. Dontavion Wicks is doing nothing.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Zach Ertz is proving that he probably should have stayed
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: on his couch.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: And then he has Barkley and Bixby getting hurt.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: And no Devontae Smith.
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: No.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he was injured for this game. I mean, it
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: might be crazy to say, but do you think the
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Eagles are missing A.J. Brown right now?
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: We're missing A.J. Brown right now.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: I'm going to be saying no.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: I miss A.J. Brown a lot.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: Actually, I have a better question to ask. Pukunuku was... Oh,
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: never mind. Well, he had a rushing for two yards.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: So Pukunuku was back. But this was another great game
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: for Kyron Williams. And again, had to get bailed out
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: because Philadelphia just forgot how to play football. And Matthew
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Stafford had a pretty bad performance, all things considered. I mean, yeah,
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: he threw the ball 51 times. But how do you
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: not throw a touchdown?
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Like.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on. I really don't know
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: what's going on. But, like, again, I'm happy for the Rams.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: They won again, but... I can't help but think this
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: is so suspicious.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it'll... It'll be interesting to see on
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: what happens for both of these teams. But... Moving on,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: let's finish up the 1 o'clock window or the 10
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: o'clock window for Nova and talk about those....
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: What.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Brandon, how quickly can we get through the Dallas Cowboys game?
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Do you think we can get through it in about
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: two minutes?
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: No.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: Actually, yes.
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: I basically cannot.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: Challenge accepted. Challenge accepted. Hold on. Please pause.
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: I mean, Brandon, if you're under two minutes, I guarantee
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: that I can't.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: So are we ready? I'm actually going to do this.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: I've got a stopwatch. So Dak looked like Dak. 335
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: in a score. This was the fucking CD Lamb show.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: 17 for 189 in a TD. RIP my fantasy game.
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: Dak looked like the Dak that we kind of expected
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: him to be. Javante Williams also had a hat trick. Surprise, right?
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: CJ Stroud actually kind of looked better. 21 for 31,
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: 347 in two TDs. There's absolutely no fucking run game
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: in Houston. I don't know what they're doing. Arguably, there's
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: not really a run game. Arguably, there's not really a
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: run game for Dallas either, even though Javante scored a
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: hat trick. Nico Collins had his first good game since
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: he's been back. 17 receptions for 118 and two TDs.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: This is the thing that I was afraid of, you know,
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: whenever anybody decides that they're going to play Houston. But
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: Houston's 0-4. What are you going to do? There's surprisingly
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: no interceptions and no fumbles by either team. So I
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: don't know what the hell happened here. This just decided
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: to be a fucking shootout. Like Brandon Albrecht misses two
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: field goals. They still win by four points. Kai Fairbairn
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: is Kai Fairbairn. He hits all his things. He's pretty
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: much the Mr. Reliable of the week to me, at least.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: I mean, I just feel bad for anybody, myself, who
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: had to play against CeeDee Lamb in fantasy because Mai
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: went up against CeeDee Lamb, Kenneth Walker, and Tech McMillan.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: So I lost. astronomically bad. But I really don't know
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: what we have to do here to get a run
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: game going in Houston, especially when CJ Straub decides that
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: he actually wants to play bad. Anyway, that's a minute
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: and 33 seconds, guys. How about you?
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: I have my words and they're all going to Houston.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: And I'll start with a couple things here from Evan
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: JTV because he wants to get his opinions. He started
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: here by saying, 0-4 start after being considered as the
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: Super Bowl contender. The season's over. Fire everyone. Agreed.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: CJ Stroud included.
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: He's not even having a bad season. What do you mean?
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: Burn a house down. Scorch the earth. Run it clean.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: I mean, again, Nova, my thing with it, it's shocking
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: how The Texans, I mean, they're 0-4, they're 0-3 in Houston.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Their defense, this incredible defense is giving them 30 points
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: left and right. Like, it is ridiculous what's going on
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: with them. And the only other thing I can say
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: really about This and this is how crazy it is.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Do you know the Texans are higher in the power
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: rankings for ESPN right now than the New Orleans Saints,
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants?
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: Is that after this weekend?
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: That's somebody needs to be drug tested.
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: Anyway, continuing on, there's another step I pulled up from
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: QB Dobby on Twitter. Quote, As confirmed by our data,
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: the 2026 Texans are the first team in NFL history
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: to go 0-4 without throwing a single interception over the
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: first four weeks. This, to me, screams extreme disappointment because
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: this is now the worst start probably in a while
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: for Houston. I mean, they started 0-3 back-to-back seasons, now
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: they're starting 0-4. With Jacksonville as high as they are, and,
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: you know, for giving the inconsistencies with the Colts, I think,
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: and I'm sorry to say this, Houston fans, your season's over.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: I do not believe you're going to do anything.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: No.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: This is the highest disappointment ever. You look at this
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: team and you think, this team should be much better
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: than what they are. I don't know what the heck
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: ESPN is thinking with the power rankings. I think they're
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: much lower. But then again, they still think they can
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: turn the season around, which I think they can, but
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: this is not going to be... This is a team
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: we're fighting for a wild card now.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: If they're lucky to even be And the wild card contention.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: 0-4.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: You're in Texas. And they very much like their barbecue.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Houston is very close to stick a fork in them.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: Because they're done.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: And the worst part is. Again, I pointed it out. C.J.
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: Stroud is not for the pick. So he's far from
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: the problem.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: He was definitely. Devil's advocate. He was definitely their problem
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: in their postseason run.
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: Okay, I could give you that one. I could give
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: you that one. But what I'm trying to point out
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: is that despite being 0-4, CJ Stroud's been the least
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: of their problems during that stretch.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, five touchdowns, no interceptions, but only 1,100
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: passing yards. Again, I mean....
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: It could be worse. That's all I'll say. Because right now,
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: the O-line's kind of selling. David Montgomery somehow disappeared since
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: week one. This defense is just disappointing because... Let's be real.
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: A lot of fantasy owners probably drafted the Houston Texans
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: defense first.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Hello. Hello, I did.
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: What the hell is happening?
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, after that Buffalo game, I dropped their defense immediately. Yeah.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Because I just couldn't trust it after one game. I
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: get it was Buffalo, and I probably could have. I
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: probably could have gotten away with it, but I didn't. So,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: I just got rid of it.
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: Speaking of getting rid of things, you know who else
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: got rid of the ball a lot? Off the tips
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: of their feet?
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: Who was that, Brandon?
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: The Dolphins and the Vikings. Let's talk about that one
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: for a second. Let's go.
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: I have two questions.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: I have two questions for this game. First off, we
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: have to summarize this game in two words. I believe
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: the definition of it would be field goal. Ha ha
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: ha ha ha.
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: Shout out to Will Reichardt.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Shout out to him, indeed. Because motherfucker was perfect. As
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: long as this was from 50. Why could Kyler Murray
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: not move the ball? Second question that I have for this,
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: and that first one was unrelated. What happened to Malik Willis?
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: They had one person called back for illegal touching. That's
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: how they lost the game.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: Not even that, though. Nine completions on 17 attempts for
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: 85 yards.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: This is a Brian Flores defense we're talking about.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: And I think Miami finally got the memo that we're
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: supposed to be bad.
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: I mean, they did. I mean, they could have. Minnesota
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: played down for sure. But like Ali Gordon had nine
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: carries for 100 yards in a score. He was the
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: only good thing about that Miami defense. He had more
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: rushing yards and the QB had passing yards.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not good. But, I mean, also in this game,
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: I mean, it says something when Miami's offense blocks a
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: Vikings defender into the referee, and the referee goes after
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: the Vikings player and not the Dolphins player.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw that.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: Referee controversies.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: Look, I don't know what is going on with the referee.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: I mean, again, Adrian Hill got suspended for a game.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: He was the referee. And then, I mean, the NFL
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Referees Association comes out and is like, oh, these punishments
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: are too steep for our officials. And it's like, too steep?
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: You have– look, I can understand thinking that Adrian Hill
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: being suspended for a game might be a little steep because, again,
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: I mean, he's the white cap. Maybe you could have
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: fined him a couple of game checks or whatever. I mean,
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: I think he's– if I'm not mistaken, I think I
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: saw a report that his day job is he's an attorney.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: So I think– That's crazy. I think he can afford–
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I think he can afford that. I'm actually about to
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: look it up. Adrian Hill– He earned degrees in electrical
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: and software engineering and computer science. So... Oh, he was... Okay,
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: I'm wrong. He's an aerospace software engineer is what his
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: day job was.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: And he took action against the Vikings player that shoved
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: him because he didn't have the confidence he was pushed into.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Then that caused a domino effect.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Yeah. So unfortunately he's suspended for one game. And I,
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: I understand like if people want it to be upset
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: over him, but At the same time, like, look, referees,
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: I mean, look, we get it that they are entitled
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: to some protection against these players because it's a tough job,
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: but at the same time, like, ah, well, shouldn't have
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: yelled at the guy.
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: I mean, there's always the memes about the refs being soft,
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: but you know what's softer? The fact that the Vikings
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: are undefeated and their offense looks soft.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: Yeah, their offense looks bad right now. If it wasn't
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: for Brian Flores' defense, you could make the argument the
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: Vikings could be 0-4 right now.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Oh, for sure.
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: Which, by the way, are we going to start opening
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: up the can of worms that they shouldn't have traded J.J. McCarthy?
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: That's too early for that.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's way too early for that. But at least
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: for the Dolphins, at least we know that this will
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: be in their future soon.
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: And again, I like to point it out, the Dolphins
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: should have won this game, but again, that illegal touching
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: that threw it over their touchdown cost them at the end.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: I guess get good, I guess, Miami.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: Man, just get good, Miami. And you know who else
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: is getting good? The Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Las
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: Vegas Raiders 30-27. Patrick Mahomes is back, baby!
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: Even though he only.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: Completed 50% of his passes.
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: By the way, I pumped the brakes on that one
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: No, he is back. Because remember, Chiefs Dynasty is back.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: And everyone on social media is clearly happy that the
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: Chiefs are winning again.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: Because now the refs have his... You know what, Aaron?
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: I'm going to stop that sentence right there. Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: Are you trying to get suspended?
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Sure. Sure. Why not?
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: Yeah, sure.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: I will forever die on the hill that I stood
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: on at the very start of this podcast. And that
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes is incredibly mid. 50% of your passes against
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: the Raiders. What more can you say? I genuinely believe
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: that if they did not have Kenneth Walker, they would
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: have lost this game.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Would you agree that Mahomes is at the top of
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: Mahomes Mountain? Nope. Well, he is. Ahead of the Prince
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: and of Rockford.
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: Why do you do this to me? Why do you
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: do this to me? God, I fucking hate Nick Wright
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: so much. God bless it. No, that's, no. I, like,
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: I truly, genuinely believe, like, completely serious to unbiased, I truly,
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: genuinely believe that if Patrick Mahomes did not have Kenneth
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: Walker to run the ball, that they would have lost
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: this game very, very, very easily.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: Why else would they sign him?
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: Can we make the argument now that, and again, we'll
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: be talking about Bajon momentarily, but can we make the
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: argument that Kenneth Walker and Bajon Robinson should actually get
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: serious MVP consideration?
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: No. Why not?
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: Because the media is not going to give them the
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: credit they deserve.
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: I mean, it's not going to give who exactly.
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: Because everybody is on quarterback drugs.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: But which quarterback is running away with the MVP?
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: Brock Purdy.
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, he's right on that one.
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: We'll get to that soon. Yeah, we'll get to that soon. But,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: I mean, a Kirk of Cousins over there. A first
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: of cousins with 52 pass attempts, 365 yards. Man, he's
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: looking good in Vegas right now.
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: Not only is this the biggest surprise of the year,
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: the fact that the Raiders are undefeated heading into this game,
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: but their plan is being accelerated. I mean, we all
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: kind of were surprised that Fernando Mendoza wasn't going to
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: be the first start for the Vegas Raiders. And it's
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: looking like it's going to be the best decision the
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: Raiders have made in quite some time, especially under Clint
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: Kupiak's system. Because you look at this and you're like, God,
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: no matter what happens this season, I think the Raiders
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: could still contend for a wildcard spot because, you know, again,
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: Brock Bowers is coming alive, so is Michael Mayer. That's
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: arguably the best tight end room in the NFL right there.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: But also, Fernando Mendoza developing under this system, this is
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: just going to help him more.
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: I genuinely am excited to see what happens when the
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: Raiders go to Foxborough to play the Patriots next week.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: Oh, that the Raiders will beat them again?
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: Well, see, that's the thing. It's because, like, this is
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: a Raiders team that, honestly, I don't think anybody has
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: seen for a long time. And, like, I've got a
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: buddy of mine locally. His name is Scott. He is
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: a diehard Black Hole fan. And, which, by the way,
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: I didn't know those existed around my neck of the woods. And, like,
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: Kirk Cousins actually looks really good. I mean, you know.
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: I bet you Tal has seen this Kirk Cousins.
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: No. No?
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: No, not really. I'm actually kind of happy for Kirk
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: Cousins right here because he is currently tied for first
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: in the NFL in TDs. I see you. Kirk Cousins
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: has 11 TDs this season.
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: And again, I have to point it out, I think
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: the Raiders arguably have the best tight end room in
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: the league right now.
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: Brock Bowers.
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: And Michael Mayer.
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: Brock Bowers.
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: No, I agree. Is there any bad news for the
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: Kansas City Chiefs to take? I mean, Rishi Rice, I think,
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: got injured as well. Tyquan Thornton also got injured.
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: Tyquan Thornton called a TD and then turned around and
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: stood up to celebrate and then realized his ankle was broken.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: Dislocated.
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: Either way it was not where it should have.
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: Been yeah no and he was like oh shit yeah
- 1:37:31Speaker 5: and he'll be out for the rest of the season
- 1:37:33Speaker 5: which means uh Patrick Mahomes might be getting his uh
- 1:37:39Speaker 5: his speedster back.
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: Yeah so like kind of going back to Kenneth Walker
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: can we just Obviously, last year in the Super Bowl,
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: we know Kenneth Walker is a good running back. To
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: be fair, we did leave holes for him to just
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: run through that you could fit a semi through. Kenneth
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: Walker has 537 rushing yards after this game.
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: Is that the best in the league right now?
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: It is first place in the league right now.
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: Yep, it is first place in the league.
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: He is also first in the league in yards per carry,
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: averaging 6.2 yards per carry.
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: That's got to be the best free agent signing this season.
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: Right now, it's looking that way. You are full.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Games into the regular season, and you already have 500.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: You've already broke the halfway mark to 1,000. Yeah.
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: At this rate, he might get 1,500 yards.
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: At this rate, he might push 2,000.
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: I think that might be too much to ask for,
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: to be honest.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: I mean, it's possible at this point, but... I mean, hey, congratulations, KC.
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: You beat the Raiders, and now we don't have to
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: worry about the Chiefs until next week, but we'll have
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: to worry about them with Tyreek Hill. We'll probably get
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: that notification sometime in the next, I'd say, 72 hours
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: or something like that.
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: Yeah. If Tyreek Hill can pass a physical, I think
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: he'll go back to KC.
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so, too. Last thing I'll close out on...
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: Where is Ashton Gentry? Where is he?
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: He's in the black hole.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: I mean, Kansas City bottled up the run game pretty good.
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: They've historically had a decent run defense, which is why
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: Kirk Cousins is over here slinging the ball 52 times. So, like,
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: I'm not going to turn around and say, where's Ashton
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: Gentry after a single game against a historically good run defense.
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: Let's see how he does against New England next week,
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: and then we might can we might have a little
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: bit more of a data sample to pull from.
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: Speaking of data samples, uh, can we close the data
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: sample on the chargers? Yes.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: This is arguably the worst team.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: In the league. Miami's worse.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: You want to know something funny about this game? So, uh,
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: Justin Herbert's first interception, he threw that one. And then
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: immediately on the very next play, Sam Donald froze a
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: pick immediately.
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Back-to-back plays, back-to-back picks.
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: Yep. Other than that, perpetual disappointment for the Chargers, per usual.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: Honestly, kind of a disappointment for Sam Darnold, too, arguably.
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: I guess so, yeah. I guess that interception kind of
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: didn't help his morale.
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: It really didn't. But at the same time, you know,
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: it was kind of a mid-game overall for him. I mean,
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: you know, JSN did JSN things, but he only had
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: 76 yards this game. I mean, Jason Myers kicked a
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: field goal and three extra points. Outside of that, it was,
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: you know, Emmanuel Wilson rushing, Rashid Shaheed rushing, touchdown, two
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: passing TDs from Safam Darnold to Emmanuel Wilson and to
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Torrey Horton.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: I like Torrey Horton as a receiver. I'll be real.
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: Who gets fired first? Jim Harbaugh or Mike McDaniel?
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: McDaniel.
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: McDaniel.
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: Talk about disappointing hires.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it might be Daniel being the first to go.
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and to think, he was going to revolutionize Justin Herbert.
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: No, he made him worse.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and if you ask my brother, Atlanta should trade
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: for Justin Herbert.
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: At this very moment, I wouldn't think so. I think
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: Justin Herbert might retire before getting traded. He might pull
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: an Andrew Locke.
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: That'd be crazy if he did. But you know what
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: I'm actually surprised about? I don't remember hearing about anything
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: happening in the substation, Brandon, but you're the only one
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: who picked San Francisco to win.
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Hey, what's up, Mr. Irrelevant?
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: I'm actually really surprised that Broncos-Devils match just decided to
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: disappear today.
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: I told you it was gone! I told you this
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: was the game where it disappeared. I told you this
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: was the game where they couldn't do that. They tried
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: to do it. They scored 11 in the fourth quarter.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: They tried to do it. And then Brock Purdy said, no,
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: go fuck yourself.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: Easily the MVP frontrunner right now is Brock Purdy.
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with that. Brock Purdy looks really, really,
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: really good. Do you remember when I said Kirk Cousins
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: was tied in the NFL in TD passes? Yeah, Brock
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: Purdy's the other. Brock Purdy's the other. Brock Purdy also
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: only has one interception to his name. And Brock Purdy's
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: also first in QBR with 89.7.
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: He's also the only other starting quarterback who's not gotten sacked.
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: Has he not gotten sacked yet? He has not gotten
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: sacked yet. Nope, he has not.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's impressive that he hasn't been sacked in four games,
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: but that's a testament to the old line of San Francisco.
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: Yep. 79 completions, 113 attempts, 70% completion percentage, 1,007 yards passing,
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: 11 TDs, one pick, no sacks. 20 carries, 122 yards,
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: one TD.
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: I mean, we did allude to the NFC West being
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: competitive as it is. Like, I didn't think San Francisco before.
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: You know, I thought it'd be Seattle.
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: I thought the Niners were going to do worse because
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: of all of their injuries. But I guess, you know,
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: joke's on me. You know, thanks, Mr. Irrelevant, for being relevant.
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: Or, as Brandon is wont to say, oh, Mr. Substation!
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: It did claim bodies. It did claim some Broncos. It
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: claimed Pat Bryant, Pat Sertan were the Broncos.
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: Yup.
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: No, it did claim Brandon too.
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: Do what?
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: Oh, you're back. I was like, you cut off. It's like,
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: there's no way the substation claimed you.
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: No, I started to say something and then changed my mind.
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: But yeah, Pat Bryant got hurt. So did Pat Sertan.
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: Pat Sertan's a concerning one because he's the cornerstone of
- 1:44:27Speaker 3: the Broncos defense. And, uh, It was a non-contact injury, too.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: Well, let's hope it's not as bad as we're thinking
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: when you hear those words in the same sentence.
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: That's Pat Sertan we're talking about.
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: Pat Sertan's pretty much an Iron Man.
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he is an Ironman.
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: But it's the last, sorry, the last update from it
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: was a day ago, according to his ESPN profile, it
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: says he is expected to misquote about two weeks. Oh, okay.
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: That's not terrible.
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: It's not terrible, but I don't know how much Broncos
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: defense can afford not having him. Especially considering he got
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: torched by Debo Samuel and George Kittle.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it is nice to see Kittle back. I'll tell
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: you that. What do you mean?
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: It's nice to see Debo back. Oh, yeah.
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: I mean, Debo was back, too. I forgot about that.
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: Remember how we all clowned on him signing that deal
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: with the 49ers? I bet he's happier now.
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he's probably happy about it now.
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm just really surprised by, well, not
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: really surprised, but I'm very impressed, I think would probably
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: be the better term, at how the Niners have looked
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: this season. Christian McCaffrey, I think, is still slowly ramping
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: up because he only had 15 carries this game. And then,
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: you know, for 52 yards and a score. And then
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: he turned around and had three receptions for 18 yards.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: So I think he's slowly being ramped back up, but
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: at this rate, They just keep doing what they're doing.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: They're going to be fine regardless.
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: I think this is a random stat, but haven't the
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: 49ers made the Super Bowl every time they've made 4-0
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: as of recency?
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: I think so.
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: I'm sorry, LA. You're not going to be fans of
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: the 49ers anytime soon.
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: Do-do-do-do. Let's see. Historically, prior to the 2026 season, the
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: Niners had started 404 times. Out of those four seasons,
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: they reached the Super Bowl twice, winning it in 84
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: and losing it in 2019.
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: That was a deep one. In 1990, they lost the NFCC,
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: and in 2023, they lost in the Super Bowl.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: Both the times they made the Super Bowl under Kyle Shanahan,
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: when they started 4-0, they made the Super Bowl. So
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: is this a lock?
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: I won't go that far just yet. But what I
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: will say for the last game of the Sunday slate
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: before we talk about the Monday game and the predictions,
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: Carolina defeating Detroit 32-26. And, oh, yeah, Bryce Young is
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: looking great.
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: Never doubt him again.
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: I'm a Bama fan. I will always doubt Bryce Young.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: I will. I have reason to doubt Bryce Young. But
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: even still, I still don't think he looked that great
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: this game. He said, fuck it, Tech McMillan's down there somewhere.
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: And Tech McMillan bailed him out on a bunch of throws.
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: 14 receptions, 192 receiving yards. And two TDs on 16 targets.
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: It was a fucking career day for Tet.
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: It's a career day for a fucking Panther.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it was impressive by Carolina's offense. Dave
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: Canales is doing great for Bryce. It's amazing how a
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: benching fixed this guy.
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: He got benched for the Red Rocket. He said, you
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: know what? How about we just not do that again? Yeah.
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: Also, I mean, Chuba Hubbard, 20 carries, 122 yards. Like, look,
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: I get the Panthers don't have the greatest run game either,
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: but when your number one back gets you a buck 22,
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: that's pretty damn good.
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: That's pretty good. And two TDs.
- 1:48:59Speaker 3: I was going to say, that's surprising to hear because
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: I would have thought the Panthers would have kept Rico
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: Dowdle out there last year, but Rico Dowdle not having
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: a good year and the Panthers choosing Chuba Cuba Hubbard
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: is paying off.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's paying off. But I'll tell you who's really
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: paying off for Carolina. Fucking Devin Lloyd, man. My God.
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: Why did Jacksonville not re-sign him?
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: How did Jacksonville let him out of the door? Like,
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: he is insane right now. And in a good way. Like,
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: I respect what he's doing. I mean, outside of the...
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: 34-3 game, but that's neither here nor there because I
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: was against my team. But no, I mean, yes, I
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: was impressed with him in that game too, but I'm
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: impressed by just how he's playing.
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: I think a lot of people would because this Panthers
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: team right now, if they could click the way they
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: did against the rest of the NFC, they could easily
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: win the NFC South because I think it's kind of
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: blown wide open. We don't know who to True contenders are,
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: but like, God, like the NSE says can be chaos
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: for what it is. But going to the Lions, it's
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: literally the same script. This defense can't defense. And Jared
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: Goss just trying to do everything he can to win
- 1:50:18Speaker 3: the game, but can't.
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: If anything, it's more they can't play man defense. They
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: can play zone somewhat decently, but they can't play man
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: defense if they had a man to put on a man.
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: Look what happened to Ted McMillan. That's a good example. Yeah.
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: I mean, that was just insane. Brandon, you're the Carolina boy.
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: Finish off this game.
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: If Bryce Young just continues to trend upward and trust
- 1:50:50Speaker 2: in other receivers not named Ted McMillan, Carolina might actually
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: look pretty decent. They might actually win the South there. But,
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: you know, You have.
- 1:51:08Speaker 3: Oh, we're bad.
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: We're bad.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: You have what?
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: Okay. I was going to say something. Detroit, they tried
- 1:51:17Speaker 3: trading for Jody Porter Jr., but Jody Porter Jr. now
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: a cowboy, and I think the Lions could have used that.
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: I don't think it would have helped that much, honestly.
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: I really don't. Because it's going to take a lot
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: more than just one person to fix this defense.
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's all secondary woes, but we don't have woes
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: for our final game because this is a talent segment
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: for sure.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: Oh, what do you mean for a talent segment? What
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: are we forgetting? Oh, right.
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: I'm just going to sit back and kick my legs
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: up for a bit.
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: No, I'm going to be as quick as I can
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: on this game because... This was just strange.
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: I need to grab something.
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: Oh, God, no.
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: I got to grab something here. Brandon, do you remember
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: a show in the 90s called The Wayans Brothers?
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: Oh, my dear Lord Jesus Christ. Yeah.
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Boy, let me get my belt up your backside.
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: Let me get my belt. Let me get my belt
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: right here. I'm beating you with my belt. I'm beating
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: you with my belt. Like, I'm beating you with a
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: belt right now.
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: Man, that was a man. That's what that run game did.
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: That was what the whole Falcons did to the Saints.
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: And we lost Zedaria Smith on the second play of
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: the game to friendly fire. We lost Jake Matthews probably
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: on that Bajon touchdown run. The first carry he had.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: And I was streaming this game on my birthday because
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: my birthday was this day. And I was like, please Atlanta,
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: don't ruin my birthday. Please Atlanta, just don't ruin my birthday.
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: Please Atlanta, just don't ruin my birthday.
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: How'd that turn out?
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: It turned out great. But no, I mean, I called
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: it when I was watching the game and I said it.
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: The left side of the line, if Bajon goes in
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: between Jake Matthews and Matthew Bergeron, he was getting the
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: first down. I did not think it was going to
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: be a house call. I just noticed it immediately. The
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: Saints defensive front right there was so soft that any
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: running back could have made a first down if you
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: went between Matthews and Bergeron. And again, it's just Bajon
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: Roberts is the point where, I mean, Brandon, you watch
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: the game. Nova, you watch the game. Oh my God.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: Remember I'm in the middle of class when it happens.
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: I don't have ESPN app.
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: That's fair. But Brandon, I think you can agree with
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: what I'm about to say. It looked like Bajon was
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: jogging on that touchdown. Did he not?
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It was like a TD.
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, it was insane. And then Kendrick Miller, again,
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: I'll be honest, that fumbled that Kendrick Miller had, I said,
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: I wasn't even sure that was a fumble, but evidently
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: it wasn't. The Bajon scores again. And then after Bajon
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: scores for the second time, it takes the Saints 51
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: seconds to score a touchdown. because their first touchdown was
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: scored in 51 seconds. They scored with 1457 to go
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: in the second quarter after a 44 yard catch by
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: Brandon's guy, Chris Olave out there, who I still maintain
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: Drake London is better than. The stats may say another story,
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: but I still maintain that.
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: It's okay to be wrong.
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: I mean, the only difference is that Chris Olave has
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: a Oh, wait, neither defense. Touchstones.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: The only thing he has going for is that Chris
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: will have more yards than Drake London in this game.
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: Yeah. But watching the game, I mean, it was literally
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: just straight belt to ass. And how about the law
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: firm of Robinson and Robinson?
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: No, you need to use meet the Robinsons. What are
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: you talking about?
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: But I don't want us to get sued by Disney.
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: Fair enough.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: Uh, but yeah, no, this, this was just straight belt
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: to ask. And the funny thing was Zedarius Smith, even
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: though he was out of the game with that concussion
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: or stinger or whatever, which again, I think was precautionary
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: at the end of the game. There's a video of
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: him on the sideline, dapping up his guys and he's
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: smacking a belt on the turf of the Superdome.
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: Right. Right.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: Like, it was picture perfect. This dome coming game again.
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: Every person and their mother was picking the Saints to
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: win the game. And Atlanta just comes in there and
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: quiets the fuck out of the Superdome to where, like
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: in the Thursday night game, you're hearing ATL chants in
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: a visiting stadium. And not just any visiting stadium. The
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: Caesars Superdome. Like, did you ever think that you would
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: hear in a rivalry as deep rooted as Atlanta and
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: New Orleans is that you would hear the Atlanta Falcons
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: chant in that stadium?
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: No.
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: Yeah, me, honestly, me either, but that was great. And also,
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: isn't it great what happens when you have competent quarterback play?
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: Michael Penix Jr., baby, 15 of 20, 223. He still
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: needs to work on his touch pass a little bit
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: because he could have had Bajon for a walk-in touchdown
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: if he would have just put a little air on
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: the ball. But he did have two touchdowns. Beautiful touch
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: passes to Jahan Dotson, including a 31-yard touchdown where he
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: had Chase Young right in his fucking grill. And he
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: stood in there and he threw a dart. He also
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: had Kyle Pitts wide the fuck open on that touchdown too. But,
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: I mean, he was going for Jahan Dotson the whole route.
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: And you saw Kyle Pitts. He was just like, that's
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: a touchdown right there.
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: So.
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and I get it. The Saints didn't have Pete Werner.
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: They didn't have Caden Ellis. They didn't have Anthony Jennings.
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: They didn't have all these defensive players. Again, Atlanta did
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: have A.J.
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: Terrell.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: We don't have Jalen Walker. We don't have James Pierce.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: We lost Adarius Smith. We lost Jake Matthews. We had
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: to play Michael Jarrell in place of Jake Matthews. And
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: we put belt to your floor-de-lee-ass.
- 1:57:57Speaker 3: See, I picked the Falcons to win, but I didn't
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: think it'd be dominating. Because now this is like an
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: indictment like i'm actually more mad about this is how
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: did we lose to the saints the way they're playing i.
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: How did you lose to the saints.
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: I'll tell you how because apparently our defense can't defense.
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: Defense you were really excited about the beginning of the
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: season But.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: Of course, Nova, Brandon was the only one to pick
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: the Saints, so let's hear what he has to say
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: about this game.
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's right. I did pick off. Opening play, B.
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: John Robinson, 59-yard. Yep, nope, wasn't expecting that one. Sorry,
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: I put a damper in my entire fucking plan. No, uh... Admitting,
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: Atlanta does look really fucking good since Penix Jr. came back.
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: They look really good.
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: They actually look like a football team.
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: They actually look like a football team instead of with
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: Tua turned them all over. They didn't even play. What
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: do you mean?
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: They didn't even play.
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. They look better without him.
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: He wasn't even there.
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: That's fine. It was super rushed. That's fine, because you
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: see the Atlanta passing thing where there's a lack of Tua? Yeah,
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: that's my point. If Tua does not exist to the Falcons,
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: then they're fine. No, I genuinely... Man, I was really
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: hoping Tyler Shuck would sit here and just go the
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: fuck off. But throwing the ball 48 times is... a lot.
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: 50 yards rushing, though, against the Atlanta defense is also...
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: Not a lot.
- 1:59:44Speaker 3: No, it really isn't.
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: I do also want to shout this out, by the way,
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: before we get into it. The Saints had 50 rushing
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: yards for the entire game. Do you guys know how
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: good Atlanta's rush defense is right now?
- 2:00:01Speaker 3: I mean, they went against Green Bay Packers defense that
- 2:00:04Speaker 3: couldn't run the ball.
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: True. But right now, through four games, the Atlanta Falcons...
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: are giving up 48 rushing yards a game. The next
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: closest team is the Jaguars at 72 yards a game.
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: I don't think that's going to last. Let's be real.
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: I don't think so either, especially with who they're playing
- 2:00:30Speaker 1: on Sunday. Like, if they shut down Derrick Henry, I
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: will be absolutely flabbergasted.
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: I mean, I hate to say this because that's been
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: what's been happening as of late. Like, they've been able
- 2:00:44Speaker 3: to stop Henry. Like, the Cowboys and the Titans. Like,
- 2:00:47Speaker 3: I don't know what to say.
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but Derrick Henry very much enjoys playing against Atlanta.
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: He loved playing against them in Tennessee. So, I think
- 2:00:56Speaker 1: he'll enjoy playing them in Baltimore.
- 2:01:00Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: Let's go over to our Week 5 picks now, then.
- 2:01:03Speaker 3: How did we do with our Week 4 picks?
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: For the Week 4 picks.
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: In first place, we had... A tie.
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: A tie.
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: Brandon, how did you get 12 right?
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: Because you guys decided that you wanted to take this
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: seriously and actually keep track of it.
- 2:01:24Speaker 3: So I said, fuck it. All right, we ball.
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: No, I actually started picking serious. Because honestly, for the
- 2:01:33Speaker 2: most part, it was... be genuinely picking hey these guys
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: are the underdogs or hey i think that this is
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: actually going to be a blowout based on historical you
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: know number statistics and then i'm just over here going
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: you know what fuck it let's actually take this seriously
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: and buckle down and look at what i actually say
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: on the tape so you know here.
- 2:01:51Speaker 3: We go.
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: Here we go i'm so glad you got that.
- 2:01:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but Brandon, I mean, hey, you're positive now in
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: the picks. You're 35 and 29.
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: Which ones did I not call outside of the Atlanta
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: Saints game?
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: The Giants.
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: I'm talking about like all of them, not just that one, yeah.
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: So you got incorrect. The Buffalo game, the Giants game,
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: the New Orleans game, and the Vegas game.
- 2:02:27Speaker 2: You said which one? Vegas, New Orleans.
- 2:02:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Vegas.
- 2:02:33Speaker 2: Okay, I couldn't remember what that fourth one was. Yeah,
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: I genuinely wanted the Raiders to win that game just
- 2:02:38Speaker 2: because I really don't like Patrick Mahomes and just because
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: I also genuinely think that the Raiders look really good.
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: And even though they did lose, the Raiders still look
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: really good. Like, I'm actually scared of the Raiders for
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: the first time coming into Foxborough than I have been
- 2:02:51Speaker 2: for quite a while.
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: As if you weren't scared of them last year?
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: I wasn't scared of them last year. Yeah, they won,
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: but I wasn't scared of them like I am this year. Like,
- 2:03:02Speaker 2: I really wasn't. They looked mediocre last year, and we
- 2:03:04Speaker 2: played down to their level week one of opening season. Like,
- 2:03:08Speaker 2: week one games realistically don't mean a lot to me,
- 2:03:11Speaker 2: especially with, like, a new coach, new line, stuff like that. But, like,
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: as of right now, we're going against a Raiders team
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: that has a new head coach, has a new QB,
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: has a new offensive identity, has a new run game. Like,
- 2:03:23Speaker 2: this Raiders team looks really good.
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: And again, Fernando Mendoza is going to be the biggest
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: winner of that.
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: Mendoza is going to be the biggest winner. But, Brandon,
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: I mean, you're still in third place, but at least
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: you're positive in the picks now. You're 35-29. That's okay.
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: I'll be in second next week.
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: Nova, you are 39-25. Thank you, Jets. Thank you, Jets,
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: for that one. You're in second place. And then I
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: am in first place at a 40 and 24. I
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: actually just want to do the math real quick. So
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: we're separated by a game.
- 2:03:58Speaker 3: Great.
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: So I am at a 63% for this season.
- 2:04:01Speaker 2: Nova is 61%, 60.9.
- 2:04:01Speaker 3: And Brandon is just above 500.
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: 55%, 54.6% if we're being real. But let's get into
- 2:04:27Speaker 1: the picks. First up, Tampa Bay at Dallas.
- 2:04:31Speaker 3: Why are the tickets $ 22?
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: Because it's Tampa.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: It's in Dallas.
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: Pauls, are they really? Hold on, I need to switch.
- 2:04:40Speaker 3: My page up.
- 2:04:43Speaker 2: I've got my PC on. Yeah, tickets as low as $ 22.
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 2:04:48Speaker 3: What is Jerry Jones doing?
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: Well, I mean, we can take a quick look. Also,
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: that's on Vivid Seats.
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: Oh, wait. What?
- 2:04:59Speaker 1: There's an error.
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, $ 22 has to be an error, right?
- 2:05:05Speaker 3: Has to be. Jerry Jones is always money greedy.
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: Let's say one ticket.
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: Standing room only is $ 22. $ 22.
- 2:05:15Speaker 2: Well, let's see. Hold on. Let go of the freaking map. Jesus,
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: I hate technology sometimes.
- 2:05:22Speaker 3: I'm thinking the Cowboys, by the way.
- 2:05:26Speaker 2: So, looking along the Cowboys' sideline, looks like the lowest
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: price is $ 474. Which is still not bad. I'm also
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: picking the Cowboys, by the way.
- 2:05:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think this one was like the easiest one
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: of them all.
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no, for sure.
- 2:05:45Speaker 3: Okay, so the London game is next.
- 2:05:48Speaker 1: The London game is next. Philly at Jacksonville. And you
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: want to know what Philly is doing for this game, guys?
- 2:05:55Speaker 3: Are they jet lagging?
- 2:05:57Speaker 1: They are practicing in Philly all the way until Friday.
- 2:06:00Speaker 3: Give me Jacksonville, then.
- 2:06:02Speaker 2: Give me Jacksonville by two scores.
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: Yep, that is exactly why I was going Jacksonville. Now
- 2:06:10Speaker 1: we go to Chicago at Green Bay, and this was
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: originally a 4 o'clock window game. We got a flex
- 2:06:17Speaker 1: schedule already.
- 2:06:20Speaker 3: Thanks, Green Bay.
- 2:06:22Speaker 1: Hello, Chicago, to beat Green Bay.
- 2:06:25Speaker 3: I'm picking Chicago, too.
- 2:06:27Speaker 2: Yeah, also picking Chicago.
- 2:06:29Speaker 1: You're picking Chicago, Novo?
- 2:06:31Speaker 3: Yes, I am. But watch this be the random divisional
- 2:06:34Speaker 3: game that Green Bay finally shows up. I'll be mad
- 2:06:37Speaker 3: if that happens.
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: Yeah, watch that one. But next up, Houston at Tennessee.
- 2:06:45Speaker 2: The Battle of the Undefeated. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 2:06:48Speaker 3: I mean, the.
- 2:06:50Speaker 2: Unwinning.
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: Houston, you have to win this one. If you don't,
- 2:06:59Speaker 3: I'm going to go even harder on you.
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm taking Houston. The fact that Brandon is so
- 2:07:09Speaker 1: quiet right now, Noah, means I think he's considering picking Tennessee.
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: Give me Houston.
- 2:07:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: I was legitimately considering it for a second.
- 2:07:22Speaker 3: As I said, divisional games always end up being weirdly close.
- 2:07:26Speaker 2: Yeah, they are. That's what I was genuinely trying to consider.
- 2:07:30Speaker 1: Are you considering Miami to beat Cincinnati, though?
- 2:07:32Speaker 2: Um, no. No, I'm not.
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: Yeah, me either. I'm picking Cincy.
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: Nova?
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: Nova?
- 2:07:47Speaker 2: Nova? Nova, don't do it. Nova, stop. Don't do it.
- 2:07:52Speaker 3: Hey, look, they almost beat the Vikings, okay?
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: The Vikings almost beat the Vikings. What the fuck do
- 2:07:57Speaker 2: you mean, Nova?
- 2:08:00Speaker 3: Here's my hot take.
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 2:08:02Speaker 3: The Bengals win, but I think it's by a last-second
- 2:08:05Speaker 3: field goal.
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: Last-second field goal feels generous.
- 2:08:10Speaker 1: But at least he's picking Cincinnati to win.
- 2:08:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fine.
- 2:08:14Speaker 1: I'll take it.
- 2:08:15Speaker 3: I think they're going to underperform, though. I think they're
- 2:08:17Speaker 3: going to severely underperform.
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: I could see that happening. Vegas at New England. Brandon,
- 2:08:28Speaker 1: it's your game, so.
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: He picked against New England last time and got punished
- 2:08:33Speaker 3: for it.
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: I mean, maybe if I pick against New England this time,
- 2:08:36Speaker 2: we'll come out with a win. I mean, I don't know.
- 2:08:38Speaker 2: Fucking superstitions happen, I guess.
- 2:08:41Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: This actually might be a hard one. Yeah. So with
- 2:08:53Speaker 2: the matchup predictor, going back to the numbers side of it,
- 2:08:56Speaker 2: New England is favored to win 63.8%. I think that's generous.
- 2:09:05Speaker 3: I think so, too.
- 2:09:06Speaker 2: I also think so. Yeah, I think that's very generous.
- 2:09:09Speaker 2: I genuinely think that if we can bring the same
- 2:09:13Speaker 2: Patriots team that showed up to Buffalo... and bring that
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: same team back to Foxborough and play against the Raiders,
- 2:09:23Speaker 2: then I think this is probably going to be a
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: 50-50 game. Like, this could go either way. I can't
- 2:09:34Speaker 2: go against the Patriots in this one. I can't. Like,
- 2:09:37Speaker 2: I can't. I can't. I know you can. Shut up, Nova. However,
- 2:09:47Speaker 2: I think it'll be close. I do think it'll be
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: close as well. I think if... I'm going to go
- 2:09:54Speaker 2: New England with this game. And I think if we
- 2:09:57Speaker 2: do win this game, it is going to be solely
- 2:10:00Speaker 2: because of our defense and not because of Drake May
- 2:10:03Speaker 2: performing well.
- 2:10:04Speaker 3: No, I think if the Patriots win, it's going to
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: be a try to beat out Henderson.
- 2:10:08Speaker 1: Admittedly, the fact that it's in New England is why
- 2:10:12Speaker 1: I'm taking New England.
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: I remember last time Vegas beat New England in Voxborough.
- 2:10:18Speaker 2: I thought we played that one in Vegas. No, that
- 2:10:22Speaker 2: was week one that you guys lost.
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: What was it? 17-16?
- 2:10:25Speaker 1: 17-16.
- 2:10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we lost... 2025 season opener. Yeah, at Gillette Stadium. Yeah, okay.
- 2:10:38Speaker 2: That was 2013. September 7th, 25.
- 2:10:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:10:42Speaker 1: I mean, I'll take New England on that game. I'll
- 2:10:46Speaker 1: give them the home advantage there.
- 2:10:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I genuinely think it's a coin flip, but I...
- 2:10:55Speaker 2: I'm going to go with my, this is more so
- 2:10:58Speaker 2: the fact that I really hope the same New England
- 2:11:00Speaker 2: team shows up that shows up against Buffalo. Also, as
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: well as the fact of the slight history that New
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: England and the Raiders have.
- 2:11:10Speaker 3: I'm just going off recency. I'm just going off the
- 2:11:13Speaker 3: tuck rule. Okay. I guess I can't speak. I just
- 2:11:18Speaker 3: guess I can't speak. Not at all.
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: Continue.
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: Well, Nova, let's get your take on the next game.
- 2:11:28Speaker 1: Minnesota at New Orleans.
- 2:11:32Speaker 3: Do I want to pick the Saints after what happened?
- 2:11:34Speaker 3: Do I want to? Nah, I think Brian Forrest, Bowie, Tyler, Shuck.
- 2:11:39Speaker 3: I think the Vikings win, but I think it's going
- 2:11:42Speaker 3: to be an ugly low-scoring game.
- 2:11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm taking Minnesota as well this week.
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: I'm also taking Minnesota.
- 2:11:50Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:11:51Speaker 1: Brandon is also taking Minnesota. The predictions are going quicker
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: right now just because it seems like all these games
- 2:11:58Speaker 1: almost feel likely to happen. Like Cleveland at the Jets. Brandon,
- 2:12:04Speaker 1: are you going to ride with Deshaun Watson?
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: I'm going to burn your house down. I got it.
- 2:12:14Speaker 2: Burn your fucking house down. No. I am going to
- 2:12:19Speaker 2: pick the Cleveland Browns to win this game. The Jets
- 2:12:25Speaker 2: are favored to win this game?
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: In what world?
- 2:12:28Speaker 3: What? In what world? I'm taking the Cleveland Browns to
- 2:12:33Speaker 3: cover and to win.
- 2:12:35Speaker 1: How are the Jets favored? I get that home teams
- 2:12:38Speaker 1: get three points when the initial line opens, but how?
- 2:12:44Speaker 2: How?
- 2:12:45Speaker 3: I very much bet you to wait until the Cleveland
- 2:12:46Speaker 3: game ended. They were like, this is not sustainable.
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: Neither was the fourth quarter comebacks by Denver.
- 2:12:53Speaker 1: All right, next up, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. This one I've
- 2:13:01Speaker 1: actually been racking my brain on.
- 2:13:05Speaker 2: This one is a true 50-50 game according to ESPN.
- 2:13:10Speaker 1: I'm going to ride with the Colts. I'm going to
- 2:13:11Speaker 1: ride with Jonathan Taylor.
- 2:13:15Speaker 3: Do I think Steeler BS happens again?
- 2:13:17Speaker 2: It's in Heinz or it's in, it's in Heinz. Is
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: it Heinz field still?
- 2:13:21Speaker 3: I hate that.
- 2:13:23Speaker 1: I hate that. They changed that name.
- 2:13:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:13:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Heinz field to Accra stadium.
- 2:13:30Speaker 2: It's Heinz field. So yes, BS reoccurs.
- 2:13:34Speaker 3: Oh, you think CJ Watt just clicks the magic button?
- 2:13:38Speaker 2: I think this is the Steelers game.
- 2:13:41Speaker 3: Because this is where I like Stockholm, because the Colts
- 2:13:44Speaker 3: should beat Pittsburgh, but then again, as I keep pointing out,
- 2:13:47Speaker 3: Pittsburgh keeps winning games they have no right winning.
- 2:13:50Speaker 2: Also, hear me out here. This game is in Pittsburgh,
- 2:13:52Speaker 2: and Pittsburgh is currently 2-0 at home.
- 2:13:56Speaker 3: Sure, why not? I'll take Pittsburgh. I don't believe in
- 2:14:00Speaker 3: Daniel Jones.
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: I'm not even doing it because of Daniel Jones. I'm
- 2:14:05Speaker 1: going off of Jonathan Taylor, but I'm also going to
- 2:14:08Speaker 1: go off of The Steelers are a mess right now.
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: But I can tell you who's not a mess, although
- 2:14:20Speaker 1: this game might be a mess. Giants at Commanders.
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: Give me the Giants.
- 2:14:28Speaker 3: What's Marcus Mariota's status at the game?
- 2:14:30Speaker 1: He will most likely be out because of the MCL sprain.
- 2:14:34Speaker 1: Give me the Giants then.
- 2:14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, he's definitely going to be out.
- 2:14:37Speaker 1: It might be Ethan Kaliak-Manis. Alright, that is the end
- 2:14:43Speaker 1: of the 1 o'clock window. 4 o'clock window. Only three
- 2:14:46Speaker 1: games this week. Denver, Los Angeles.
- 2:14:50Speaker 3: Which Los Angeles?
- 2:14:51Speaker 1: Chargers.
- 2:14:56Speaker 2: I thought this was a no-brainer.
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Denver.
- 2:14:59Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 2:15:00Speaker 3: This is another one of these divisional games that the
- 2:15:02Speaker 3: Chargers could actually win.
- 2:15:04Speaker 2: Denver.
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: Do I dare say it?
- 2:15:10Speaker 1: You're going to take the charges, aren't you?
- 2:15:12Speaker 3: I'm thinking about it.
- 2:15:15Speaker 2: Do it. Do it and be wrong. It's fine.
- 2:15:19Speaker 3: I mean, I'm the only one who's straight away from it.
- 2:15:22Speaker 3: That's not true. I'll pick Denver.
- 2:15:27Speaker 1: Admittedly, right now, the only games that have any sort
- 2:15:31Speaker 1: of difference so far is Nova picking the Raiders over
- 2:15:35Speaker 1: the Patriots and myself picking Indianapolis over Pittsburgh.
- 2:15:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:15:42Speaker 1: So, again, it just shows how week five is. Like,
- 2:15:45Speaker 1: look at this one. Detroit and Arizona. I mean.
- 2:15:48Speaker 2: Detroit.
- 2:15:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:15:51Speaker 5: Um.
- 2:15:53Speaker 3: See... My issue is still the Lions secondary.
- 2:15:57Speaker 1: It's Jacoby Brissett, though.
- 2:16:01Speaker 2: It's Jacoby Brissett, my brother in Christ.
- 2:16:06Speaker 1: Look, if it was Carson Beck starting, I'd give you.
- 2:16:11Speaker 1: I'd probably give a little bit of leeway.
- 2:16:15Speaker 3: Bryce Young and Geno Smith. Yeah, they made Geno Smith
- 2:16:19Speaker 3: look good, but I think Detroit wins, but I.
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: Think it's going to be by a touchdown. Now, hold
- 2:16:23Speaker 2: on a damn minute. Geno Smith is not a bad QB.
- 2:16:31Speaker 2: Geno Smith is not bad.
- 2:16:33Speaker 3: Did I say?
- 2:16:35Speaker 2: You said, and I quote, they made Geno Smith look good.
- 2:16:38Speaker 2: Gino Smith does look good. He's not a top 10 QB,
- 2:16:42Speaker 2: but he's a good QB.
- 2:16:46Speaker 3: That's why I said, hold on a damn minute.
- 2:16:48Speaker 2: Put some respect on that man's name.
- 2:16:51Speaker 3: I don't respect the line secondary, which is why I
- 2:16:53Speaker 3: think they win, but it's going to be by a touchdown.
- 2:16:56Speaker 2: ESPN has a 70% favor for Detroit in this game.
- 2:17:00Speaker 3: Yeah. That's the start of the 425 window. Specifically speaking, uh,
- 2:17:05Speaker 3: This one's a hard one now. Niners, Seahawks.
- 2:17:08Speaker 1: This one's a hard one.
- 2:17:13Speaker 3: I'm picking Seattle. I think they do it.
- 2:17:21Speaker 1: Again, this is the toughest one.
- 2:17:29Speaker 2: Give me the Niners.
- 2:17:31Speaker 1: I think that's who I want to go with. I
- 2:17:33Speaker 1: think I want to just ride the hot hand with
- 2:17:35Speaker 1: Brock Purdy right now.
- 2:17:37Speaker 3: No, I'm hoping the dark side defense comes back.
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: I have no reason to doubt Brock Purdy until he
- 2:17:42Speaker 2: gives me reason to doubt Brock Purdy.
- 2:17:45Speaker 3: And Mike McDonald will give you that reason.
- 2:17:48Speaker 2: I strongly doubt. that.
- 2:17:51Speaker 1: It'll be interesting to see. Now, at least for the
- 2:17:54Speaker 1: Sunday night game, I think it's very simple. I'm picking Atlanta.
- 2:17:58Speaker 1: Nova's picking Baltimore. Who is Brandon picking? Or Nova, is
- 2:18:06Speaker 1: Brandon going to pull a Tom Grossi and ask for
- 2:18:09Speaker 1: the Meteor?
- 2:18:10Speaker 3: What is that supposed to mean?
- 2:18:12Speaker 2: Okay, okay. So, hold on. Let me.
- 2:18:16Speaker 3: But here's the thing. I'm worried about this game, not
- 2:18:19Speaker 3: because I don't think we're going to win this game.
- 2:18:21Speaker 3: It's more so, how good will Tyler Huntley be?
- 2:18:26Speaker 2: Here's what I think. So, I have... Let me see.
- 2:18:31Speaker 2: Hold on. Let me look up something. So, have we
- 2:18:33Speaker 2: established that Lamar Jackson is out?
- 2:18:35Speaker 3: No, he's questionable right now.
- 2:18:37Speaker 1: Not yet.
- 2:18:37Speaker 2: Okay, so... So here's what I would like to do.
- 2:18:40Speaker 2: I'm going to pull a talent here. And depending on
- 2:18:43Speaker 2: the QB situation, I reserve my right to change my pick.
- 2:18:48Speaker 2: If Lamar Jackson plays, then I will pick Baltimore. But
- 2:18:55Speaker 2: if he is out with his ankle injury, I will
- 2:18:59Speaker 2: pick it. I'm picking Atlanta.
- 2:19:01Speaker 3: You really don't believe in Snoop Huntley?
- 2:19:03Speaker 1: Okay, so I will mark on the sheet Brandon Baltimore
- 2:19:09Speaker 1: with an asterisk like how I did for week two.
- 2:19:13Speaker 2: Exactly. And the reason for that is because like Talon
- 2:19:17Speaker 2: said earlier, obviously Lamar Jackson is the X factor for
- 2:19:23Speaker 2: this Baltimore offense. If they are forced to try to
- 2:19:28Speaker 2: make Snoop throw, then obviously I don't think that's really
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: going to bode as well For a lot of people.
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: I genuinely, and I am sorry Nova, I genuinely think
- 2:19:41Speaker 2: that Snoop is very, very mid.
- 2:19:44Speaker 3: Obviously he is mid, but he fits the scheme.
- 2:19:46Speaker 2: I mean, he does fit the scheme. And at the
- 2:19:49Speaker 2: same time, if you have a QB who you can't
- 2:19:51Speaker 2: really dedicate to throw the ball, then of course you're
- 2:19:55Speaker 2: going to try to run the ball down their throat.
- 2:19:59Speaker 2: And what is the yardage per game that Atlanta is
- 2:20:02Speaker 2: allowing in run game?
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: 48.
- 2:20:05Speaker 2: 48. If they can echo the same type of run
- 2:20:14Speaker 2: defense against Baltimore and their secondary steps up with no
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: Lamar Jackson in play, then Atlanta wins this game fairly
- 2:20:25Speaker 2: handily without Lamar Jackson at the helm.
- 2:20:32Speaker 1: Sweet.
- 2:20:32Speaker 3: What the hell? I still think that's accredited to play
- 2:20:35Speaker 3: bad rushing teams. I still think that's the case. Green
- 2:20:40Speaker 3: Bay and Tampa Bay are not real.
- 2:20:43Speaker 2: They're figments of your imagination.
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: We haven't played Tampa yet, though.
- 2:20:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you haven't played Tampa yet.
- 2:20:48Speaker 3: Oh, I'm thinking the wrong game.
- 2:20:50Speaker 1: Yeah, Atlanta has played the Panthers, who are giving up
- 2:20:57Speaker 1: the most rushing yards on defense. The Saints, who are
- 2:21:01Speaker 1: giving up the third most, but that's partially... Both of them,
- 2:21:04Speaker 1: I think, are skewed. The Packers at 100. And the
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: Steelers at 112. But now that's defense. On offense, rushing
- 2:21:18Speaker 1: yards per game.
- 2:21:19Speaker 3: Oh, we're both top five. Okay.
- 2:21:24Speaker 1: And then the teams that Atlanta has played, the Packers
- 2:21:27Speaker 1: are at the last. The Saints haven't developed it. Pittsburgh
- 2:21:34Speaker 1: at 95, and Carolina at 104.5. So, again, take that
- 2:21:43Speaker 1: for what you will. But let's talk about the last game,
- 2:21:50Speaker 1: and that is going to be the Buffalo Bills at
- 2:21:53Speaker 1: the Los Angeles Rams.
- 2:21:56Speaker 3: You know what's insulting? You look at the ticket prices
- 2:21:58Speaker 3: on that website. It says it's 54 for the Chargers,
- 2:22:00Speaker 3: but it's 146 for the Rams.
- 2:22:04Speaker 1: I mean, it's LA Stadium, not the Chargers.
- 2:22:09Speaker 3: All right, fair, but I still think that's something to know.
- 2:22:12Speaker 3: Although I will pick the Rams to win, I think
- 2:22:14Speaker 3: Josh Allen's going to cost this game.
- 2:22:20Speaker 1: I'm going to go Buffalo.
- 2:22:21Speaker 2: Are we playing Sofa?
- 2:22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, they're playing Sofa. The Blazer Buffalo has been losing
- 2:22:31Speaker 3: as of late.
- 2:22:35Speaker 2: Give me the Rams.
- 2:22:38Speaker 1: All right. Give Brandon the Rams and Brandon has his
- 2:22:44Speaker 1: prediction on the Baltimore game of which before we get
- 2:22:48Speaker 1: out of here and Nova and Brandon do they're ruffling
- 2:22:52Speaker 1: the feathers because I technically ruffled everybody's by defending Deshaun
- 2:22:56Speaker 1: Watson earlier in the program. Uh, We will be live
- 2:23:01Speaker 1: on my Twitch channel reacting to this game. Nova, Brandon,
- 2:23:05Speaker 1: and I will all be on my Twitch channel. We'll
- 2:23:09Speaker 1: have a link in the description below. So if you
- 2:23:11Speaker 1: guys want to check it out on Sunday night, feel
- 2:23:14Speaker 1: free to watch the game alongside us.
- 2:23:17Speaker 3: Just keep in mind I might be a little late
- 2:23:19Speaker 3: to it because I might have an event on Sunday.
- 2:23:24Speaker 1: That is perfectly fine. But as we end the program today, Nova, Brandon,
- 2:23:31Speaker 1: you guys have to ruffle some feathers. So let's hear it.
- 2:23:37Speaker 2: Nova, you go ahead and take the helm on this one.
- 2:23:39Speaker 2: I think I've done it first so far.
- 2:23:41Speaker 3: I think Brock Brady throws two picks and gets sacked
- 2:23:44Speaker 3: three times against the Seahawks.
- 2:23:47Speaker 2: Ooh. He really wants that thing. He really does not
- 2:23:53Speaker 2: believe in Mr. Irrelevant here.
- 2:23:55Speaker 3: No, it's not that I believe that dark side defense
- 2:23:58Speaker 3: will finally show up.
- 2:24:00Speaker 2: The men's been hyping up that dark side defense. And
- 2:24:02Speaker 2: we're talking about the same dark side defense that lost
- 2:24:04Speaker 2: to Marcus Mariota, right?
- 2:24:07Speaker 3: I guess, yeah.
- 2:24:08Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:24:10Speaker 3: I mean, they did lose three games last year, to
- 2:24:12Speaker 3: be fair.
- 2:24:14Speaker 2: So, mine is more of a... Mine is more of
- 2:24:17Speaker 2: a long-term hot take, like towards the end of the
- 2:24:20Speaker 2: regular season kind of thing. So take for this what
- 2:24:24Speaker 2: you will. I like, so like in my spare time,
- 2:24:28Speaker 2: I kind of like running simulators, you know, for like
- 2:24:31Speaker 2: statistical and logistical purposes. Sometimes I use it for work.
- 2:24:34Speaker 2: Sometimes I use it for football. So do with that
- 2:24:39Speaker 2: what you will. I think, and there was a sentence
- 2:24:45Speaker 2: that popped up for me. That I kind of have
- 2:24:51Speaker 2: current reason to believe, right? First of all, who did
- 2:24:58Speaker 2: the Jags play this week?
- 2:25:00Speaker 3: They play Philadelphia.
- 2:25:01Speaker 2: They play Philadelphia, okay.
- 2:25:03Speaker 3: In London.
- 2:25:04Speaker 2: In London. The Jags look really good so far, right?
- 2:25:11Speaker 3: Can we agree on that?
- 2:25:12Speaker 2: They actually look good.
- 2:25:14Speaker 3: Apart from Broncos double magic, yes.
- 2:25:19Speaker 2: The Jags look good.
- 2:25:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:25:23Speaker 3: Except against Denver.
- 2:25:24Speaker 2: No, my brother, this is a yes or no question.
- 2:25:28Speaker 3: That's my exception.
- 2:25:30Speaker 2: My hot take is that the Jags are going to
- 2:25:37Speaker 2: re-crash as in, I say, I am referencing Blake Bortle
- 2:25:42Speaker 2: days for Jacksonville. The AFC Elite tier. And I think
- 2:25:49Speaker 2: if they keep playing the way that they're playing with
- 2:25:52Speaker 2: their defense, playing the way their defense has played, to
- 2:25:57Speaker 2: give Nova credit, outside of Broncos devil magic, I think
- 2:26:02Speaker 2: they have a chance to secure a first-round buy. I
- 2:26:07Speaker 2: can see it.
- 2:26:08Speaker 3: Okay. And here's the thing.
- 2:26:14Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 2:26:17Speaker 3: Brandon really is just not allowing me to speak. So anyway,
- 2:26:21Speaker 3: if that happens, surely Ben Johnson goes under fire for
- 2:26:24Speaker 3: his preseason comments on the Jaguars.
- 2:26:30Speaker 1: It'll be interesting to see what happens with Ben Johnson.
- 2:26:34Speaker 3: Because remember, everyone's calling Jacksonville a small market team.
- 2:26:45Speaker 1: Okay, now that I got that done. So before we
- 2:26:51Speaker 1: end the program tonight, guys, I want to at least
- 2:26:54Speaker 1: run through the Barstool Big Cap computer power rankings with
- 2:26:57Speaker 1: you guys.
- 2:26:58Speaker 3: Are you ready? Oh, God. Not this.
- 2:27:03Speaker 1: Well, listen to them. Juggernauts, Kansas City, San Francisco. Won
- 2:27:09Speaker 1: the game of the century, have to go here, the
- 2:27:12Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns.
- 2:27:14Speaker 3: That isn't the game of the century, but sure.
- 2:27:17Speaker 1: Super Bowl contenders, Buffalo, Seattle, Jacksonville, Chicago, Baltimore, and the Rams.
- 2:27:26Speaker 1: Juggernaut on defense, offense, doo-doo, the Minnesota Vikings. Juggernauts on offense, doo-doo, piss-piss,
- 2:27:35Speaker 1: poo-poo on defense, the Detroit Lions. Again, this is a computer.
- 2:27:41Speaker 1: Legitimately fun and good NFC South teams. Atlanta and Carolina.
- 2:27:47Speaker 1: Can't figure them out, and neither can Sean Payton. The
- 2:27:50Speaker 1: Denver Broncos.
- 2:27:51Speaker 2: Speaks a lot for the Denver Broncos.
- 2:27:58Speaker 1: Two of these five feel like playoff teams just don't
- 2:28:01Speaker 1: know which two. The Raiders, Patriots, Bengals, Steelers, and Colts.
- 2:28:07Speaker 3: I can tell you it's not the Steelers or the Colts.
- 2:28:10Speaker 1: NFC East champion, question mark, the Cowboys and the Giants.
- 2:28:18Speaker 2: Sure.
- 2:28:19Speaker 1: Broken and potentially dead, the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 2:28:22Speaker 2: 100%.
- 2:28:24Speaker 3: They got to fire Sirianni after this year at this rate.
- 2:28:27Speaker 1: This one's a great tier. Fuck the Packers. It's the Packers.
- 2:28:38Speaker 3: Even their own fans are turning against the team.
- 2:28:42Speaker 1: Fun and frisky sometimes. The Saints and the Commanders. 0-4,
- 2:28:48Speaker 1: but buy stock now. The Houston Texans.
- 2:28:52Speaker 2: What do you mean? Sell the stock.
- 2:28:55Speaker 1: The obligatory cannons tier, which is literally nothing but very
- 2:29:01Speaker 1: nice cannons. Week one was cool. Jets and the Cardinals.
- 2:29:08Speaker 3: Yeah, what have the Cardinals done since upsetting the Chargers?
- 2:29:12Speaker 1: Nothing. Ass cheeks, but at least they kept Todd Bowles,
- 2:29:18Speaker 1: the Bucs. mega ass cheeks by design the miami dolphins.
- 2:29:26Speaker 3: They would have gotten to win but it's neither here nor.
- 2:29:28Speaker 1: There and the final one for brandon he'll love this
- 2:29:32Speaker 1: one mega ass cheeks and it's somehow getting worse and
- 2:29:35Speaker 1: football might be a worthless endeavor for the chargers and
- 2:29:40Speaker 1: the titans.
- 2:29:44Speaker 3: I put the tar chargers in their own tier low-key.
- 2:29:48Speaker 1: I'm just waiting for whenever this computer comes out with
- 2:29:53Speaker 1: either the Titans or the Chargers or even the Dolphins
- 2:29:55Speaker 1: where they're like, their fans should file a class action
- 2:29:58Speaker 1: lawsuit against the franchise.
- 2:30:01Speaker 3: I'm surprised they haven't.
- 2:30:03Speaker 2: Is this real?
- 2:30:10Speaker 1: Something big happening?
- 2:30:13Speaker 3: Ish.
- 2:30:14Speaker 2: Ish. Two hours ago, according to NBC Sports, the Patriots
- 2:30:19Speaker 2: brought in Jamal Williams for a workout. What?
- 2:30:25Speaker 3: I thought the running back room was good.
- 2:30:28Speaker 2: Brother, have you seen how our running backs have been performing?
- 2:30:31Speaker 2: The answer is not well.
- 2:30:34Speaker 3: I would have thought Stevenson and Henderson were okay.
- 2:30:37Speaker 2: They both have been kind of boo-boo lately. Yeah, no,
- 2:30:41Speaker 2: they brought in because I saw it on Twitter and
- 2:30:44Speaker 2: I decided to Google it. And I was like, oh, okay.
- 2:30:47Speaker 2: It wasn't immediately signed, but they also worked out a
- 2:30:50Speaker 2: few other players that same day. But yeah, we apparently
- 2:30:54Speaker 2: brought in Jamal Williams for a workout. Which is interesting.
- 2:31:00Speaker 2: I like it.
- 2:31:01Speaker 1: I mean, I kind of like it too. I mean,
- 2:31:13Speaker 1: it's interesting. If anything, though, I'm curious how he'll be
- 2:31:27Speaker 1: in New England if he does get signed.
- 2:31:35Speaker 2: I wonder, too. But at the same time, our offense
- 2:31:37Speaker 2: would have to consistently perform well for him to actually
- 2:31:40Speaker 2: be useful.
- 2:31:41Speaker 3: And that's why I bring up the Henderson and Stevenson thing.
- 2:31:45Speaker 2: Even still, they didn't really... do much of that last
- 2:31:51Speaker 2: season too I don't know they kind of fell off
- 2:31:54Speaker 2: at the end so I'm kind of iffy on either
- 2:31:58Speaker 2: one of them at the moment it's very much one
- 2:32:02Speaker 2: of those things like with like when the Boston Celtics
- 2:32:07Speaker 2: traded off Jalen Brown to the Sixers it's one of
- 2:32:10Speaker 2: those things like whenever that happened I am visibly upset
- 2:32:14Speaker 2: because fuck you Brad Stevens what are you doing And, like,
- 2:32:20Speaker 2: now I'm more okay with it. But, like, as far as, like,
- 2:32:23Speaker 2: either one of these two are concerned, between, like, either
- 2:32:26Speaker 2: Henderson or Stevenson, either one of them could go, and
- 2:32:31Speaker 2: I'm not going to be sad about it.
- 2:32:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't be sad about it either. But ladies
- 2:32:38Speaker 1: and gentlemen, that is going to end episode 11 of
- 2:32:41Speaker 1: the Ruffling the Feathers podcast. We appreciate all of you guys,
- 2:32:45Speaker 1: as always, for your support. As we move on to
- 2:32:49Speaker 1: week number five, we know there are some bye weeks.
- 2:32:52Speaker 1: We know that people are going to be a little
- 2:32:55Speaker 1: upset that their teams aren't on for the football season
- 2:32:59Speaker 1: this week. But you get to watch some decent football.
- 2:33:04Speaker 1: this week, minus every primetime game that isn't Sunday night.
- 2:33:11Speaker 3: What do you mean? It's just one.
- 2:33:14Speaker 1: Exactly. It's going to be our game that is going
- 2:33:16Speaker 1: to be the game to watch.
- 2:33:17Speaker 3: Oh, I thought you were talking about Tampa Bay and
- 2:33:19Speaker 3: Dallas being the bad game. Oh, yeah.
- 2:33:22Speaker 1: No, that's going to be horrible.
- 2:33:25Speaker 3: The rest of them are going to be good. I'm sorry.
- 2:33:29Speaker 2: I'm really excited for the Raiders Patriots game.
- 2:33:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm curious about how they'll perform. But ladies and gentlemen,
- 2:33:39Speaker 1: we will talk with you guys next week on episode
- 2:33:44Speaker 1: number 12. Be sure to check out the Twitch channel
- 2:33:47Speaker 1: on Sunday evening to watch the game alongside the three
- 2:33:51Speaker 1: of us. But until next time, we will see you around.
