SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
4:26
SPEAKER_03: We didn't talk about that game last week because we were talking about Wingate LR, but that game with Anderson is a critical one for both teams.
4:34
SPEAKER_02: It's a top 10 count.
4:35
SPEAKER_02: It's a top 10 matchup, you know.

5:56
SPEAKER_02: So Lewis, a little up and down weekend, a big loss, but turned around and beat another ranked team.
6:01
SPEAKER_02: So they're sitting okay.
6:03
SPEAKER_02: Number six, Seton Hill beat Thomas Moore.
6:05

SPEAKER_02: Uh number eight, Wingate, beat number 11 LR, 14-10 in the Crown Classic.
6:50
SPEAKER_02: Uh, good game that day.
6:52
SPEAKER_02: Then they traveled to Anderson on Wednesday, which is tonight.
6:56

SPEAKER_02: They're going to 4-1, 12-6.
7:22
SPEAKER_02: They face Flagler and then Dominican, California in RMAC play.
7:26
SPEAKER_02: So that's your top 10 countdown.
7:30
SPEAKER_02: Couple of scores to note.
7:31
SPEAKER_02: How about Northwood, Kev?
7:33
SPEAKER_02: Every week.
7:34
SPEAKER_02: Talking a little bit about Northwood.
7:37
SPEAKER_02: Over Rockhurst, 11-10 in overtime.
7:39
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
7:40
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was surprised at that.
7:42
SPEAKER_03: Big win for them.
7:43
SPEAKER_03: Very good.
7:44
SPEAKER_03: Really big win for Northwood.
7:46
SPEAKER_02: And you know what?
7:46
SPEAKER_02: They're kind of putting it together early there, aren't they?
7:49
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
7:50
SPEAKER_02: How about Dominican and New York over AIC 14-11?
7:54
SPEAKER_02: Dominican getting a couple of W's in the last two weeks.
7:58

8:10
SPEAKER_02: How about Caldwell, huh?
8:12
SPEAKER_02: Coach Scorsha gets his first dub, man.
8:16
SPEAKER_02: He gets his first dub over Felician 12-11 in a close one.
8:21
SPEAKER_02: And I am happy for Coach Scorsha.
8:24
SPEAKER_02: Where's the applause button?
8:26
SPEAKER_02: There it is.
8:26
SPEAKER_02: He deserves all the applause in the world.
8:28
SPEAKER_02: Congratulations, Coach.
8:30
SPEAKER_02: One of I'm sure many to come.
8:32
SPEAKER_02: I'm happy for him.
8:33
SPEAKER_03: Now though, I have to admit, one that just came out today, and this is congrats to UDC, but not for Coach Scorsha.
8:40
SPEAKER_03: UDC beat Caldwell 14-7 today.
8:44
SPEAKER_02: Oh, all right.
8:44
SPEAKER_02: So UDC's on the board now.
8:46
SPEAKER_02: So UDC's on the board.
8:47
SPEAKER_02: They got their first win today.
8:49
SPEAKER_02: All right.
8:50
SPEAKER_02: We got some first wins at D2.
8:52
SPEAKER_02: You know what?
8:53
SPEAKER_02: Long time coming for these guys.
8:55
SPEAKER_02: Not for nothing.
8:56
SPEAKER_02: Hey, since we're talking about first wins of the season, let's talk about Georgian court.
9:01
SPEAKER_02: The Lions got their first win the season, beating Bridgeport 13-10.
9:06
SPEAKER_02: Welcome to the winning column, uh Lions.
9:09
SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
9:10
SPEAKER_02: Florida Tech beat Flagler 9-8 in a great close game.
9:16
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we'll talk about that game.
9:18
SPEAKER_03: I've got that one.
9:19
SPEAKER_03: That was a good game.
9:20
SPEAKER_02: Pay speed assumption by one, 11-10.
9:23
SPEAKER_02: We'll talk about that.
9:24
SPEAKER_02: And a huge, huge week for Frostburg State.
9:28
SPEAKER_02: Upset number 12 Bentley, 11-7.
9:32
SPEAKER_02: Then turning around three days later and beat number 14 Mercy.
9:37
SPEAKER_02: So two, two big wins.
9:39
SPEAKER_02: Two top 15 wins in one week.
9:41
SPEAKER_02: That's for Frostburg.
9:42
SPEAKER_02: And they've been kind of struggling.
9:44
SPEAKER_02: Hey, and let's talk about the Rollins Tars, who had lost three consecutive games.
9:50
SPEAKER_02: And yeah.
9:53
SPEAKER_02: They beat number five Walsh, then number seven, Maryville, and they began SSC play with three big ones coming in a row, though.
10:03
SPEAKER_03: You said Walsh, you meant Lewis.
10:04
SPEAKER_03: They beat Lewis.
10:06
SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, Lewis.
10:07
SPEAKER_02: I said Walsh.
10:08
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they beat Lewis and they beat Mary Maryville, and they begin Sunshine State play with three big ones in a row.
10:15
SPEAKER_02: St.
10:15
SPEAKER_02: Leo, Florida Tech, and then at Tampa.
10:18
SPEAKER_02: So Rollins, are you back?
10:21
SPEAKER_02: Remember last year they struggled in the beginning and they came strong at the back?
10:24
SPEAKER_02: They had lost, you know, three consecutive coming into this, Kev, and they'd won two in a row and two two top ten teams they beat.
10:33
SPEAKER_02: So is Rollins?
10:34
SPEAKER_02: Are the Tars back?
10:36
SPEAKER_02: Could it be?
10:37
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
10:38
SPEAKER_02: And that's and that's just a couple of scores to note from my side.
10:43
SPEAKER_03: I've got a few.
10:44
SPEAKER_03: Um, just three more to add.
10:45
SPEAKER_03: Davenport uh beat Malone at Malone 24-4.
10:49
SPEAKER_03: So Davenport's looking pretty strong.
10:50
SPEAKER_03: We'll talk about that a little bit later in games to potentially watch.
10:54
SPEAKER_03: Wheeling beat Lake Erie in overtime, 8-7.
10:57
SPEAKER_03: Good weather.
10:59
SPEAKER_03: Wheeling.
10:59
SPEAKER_03: Lake Erie's struggling a little bit.
11:01
SPEAKER_03: And then Colorado Mesa.
11:04
SPEAKER_03: I think we talked about this last week.
11:05
SPEAKER_03: Colorado Mesa against Palm Beach Atlantic in Tampa.
11:10
SPEAKER_03: This is part of them playing Tampa.
11:12
SPEAKER_03: It wasn't it wasn't recorded or streamed, but Colorado Mesa beat Palm Beach 18-12.
11:20
SPEAKER_03: Why do I point that out?
11:21
SPEAKER_03: Palm Beach has played pretty well.
11:23
SPEAKER_03: And they came close to Colorado Mesa, but Colorado Mesa, like we thought, Danny won that one out.
11:29
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was kind of a cool week.
11:30
SPEAKER_02: You know, us with spring break for a lot of schools.
11:33
SPEAKER_02: So a lot of a lot of games.
11:35
SPEAKER_02: Some teams played three games this week.
11:37
SPEAKER_02: Some play most played two.
11:40
SPEAKER_02: And um, you know, we had teams from the west come out east and play.
11:44
SPEAKER_02: We had some teams from the east and the south go out west to play.
11:48
SPEAKER_02: So it was kind of a really good week in D2.
11:50
SPEAKER_02: A lot went on, man.
11:51
SPEAKER_02: A lot went on.
11:52
SPEAKER_02: And I'm seeing teams starting to separate themselves a little bit, Kevin.
11:57
SPEAKER_02: Some teams are looking real good in conference.
11:59
SPEAKER_02: Conference play is about to begin.
12:01
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for most.
12:02
SPEAKER_03: Some are in it, one or two games.
12:04
SPEAKER_03: Others are just starting.
12:05
SPEAKER_03: It's it's and that's what we'll get to in uh games to watch.
12:08
SPEAKER_03: Some key conference matchups coming up.
12:11
SPEAKER_03: So let's get to our weekend review.
12:13
SPEAKER_03: I'll start off.
12:14
SPEAKER_03: I just want to talk.
12:16
SPEAKER_03: I watched this game.
12:16
SPEAKER_03: This was Lees McCrae against Barton.
12:20
SPEAKER_03: Remember, they've got two.
12:21
SPEAKER_03: They've got what they're playing tonight against North Greenville.
12:24
SPEAKER_03: And we we both said, you and me, because we didn't make Coach Dunn have to make predictions, even though we know who who we thought was going to win.
12:32
SPEAKER_03: Of course.
12:33
SPEAKER_03: We said that Lees McCrae would beat Barton, and they did 13-9.
12:38
SPEAKER_03: First victory ever for them over a Barton.
12:42
SPEAKER_03: They opened the scoring and took a 4-1 lead after one.
12:44
SPEAKER_03: They widened the lead to four at halftime with 7-3.
12:47
SPEAKER_03: And really, that's what made the difference.
12:50
SPEAKER_03: Barton came back in the third and got within one after having three straight goals, but Lees McRae opened it back up by three by the end of the third, and they never looked back.
13:00
SPEAKER_03: Interesting with this one, though, is the team stats, Danny.
13:03
SPEAKER_03: Because if you read the team stats, you wouldn't think Lees McCrae probably pulls this out.
13:07
SPEAKER_03: Shots, 43 for Barton, 34 for Lees McRae.
13:13
SPEAKER_03: Turnovers, 19 for Barton.
13:17
SPEAKER_03: 31 for Lees McCray.
13:21
SPEAKER_03: Wow.
13:22
SPEAKER_03: Now here's where that difference happens.
13:24
SPEAKER_03: Faceoff.
13:25
SPEAKER_03: Barton had six, but Lees McCray had 20.
13:29
SPEAKER_03: So they controlled possession a lot more.
13:32
SPEAKER_03: They actually had some good transition goals.
13:35
SPEAKER_03: It wasn't like they played a slow methodical game all the time.
13:38
SPEAKER_03: I think they actually try to push it a lot of times, and that's probably where the if you remember we used to talk about Flagler getting going so fast and not being able to control the ball.
13:48
SPEAKER_03: I think that happened with Lees McCrae now and then.
13:50
SPEAKER_03: But they were able to control the clock a little bit more in the possession, and they got, if you look at even their shots, so their shots on goal, their their efficiency was a little bit better.
14:02
SPEAKER_03: Right.
14:02
SPEAKER_03: And that was the difference in that game.
14:04
SPEAKER_02: You know, you gotta hand it to John Grant Jr.
14:07
SPEAKER_02: and what he's done with this team in two years.
14:09
SPEAKER_02: I mean, just the difference.
14:10
SPEAKER_02: Again, we had Brad Dunn on last week, and I told him, you know, it's not going to equate to wins right now, but the improvements there.
14:17
SPEAKER_02: That's a conference win.
14:19
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and what's the funny thing too, Danny, is what you notice immediately than in past years is the size of the bench for Lees McCrae.
14:32
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
14:34
SPEAKER_03: I mean, you used to seeing like maybe four or five guys on the bench waiting.
14:39
SPEAKER_03: Now you've got a whole slew.
14:40
SPEAKER_03: And that makes a huge difference in everything.
14:42
SPEAKER_03: We've talked about this from practice, especially to injuries and everything else.
14:46
SPEAKER_03: So that was a really good game.
14:49
SPEAKER_03: All right.
14:50
SPEAKER_03: You want to talk St.
14:52
SPEAKER_03: Leo at Meryville?
14:55
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, did you watch that game?
14:56
SPEAKER_03: I did watch that game.
14:58
SPEAKER_02: Wow, it was a it was a really, really good game and kind of I don't know.
15:02
SPEAKER_02: It was kind of like a weird kind of ebb and flow to that game, right?
15:07
SPEAKER_02: It was like it was slow, it was fast, it was slow, it was fast, it was slow.
15:10
SPEAKER_02: It was kind of weird.
15:11
SPEAKER_02: But Maryville started out really fast and physical in this game, putting up three goals real quick and setting a physical tone kind of right away, especially on defense.
15:22
SPEAKER_02: Because you know why?
15:24
SPEAKER_02: They found themselves in the penalty box six times in the first quarter, Kev.
15:28
SPEAKER_02: They were knocking butts in the in the barn.
15:32
SPEAKER_02: They were knocking butts around and putting people on the ground, and they wound up in the box quite a lot.
15:40
SPEAKER_02: So the Lions were able to get two biscuits back on some of those man-ups and uh on those EMOs and added two more for the Saints, giving them a three-goal lead.
15:50
SPEAKER_02: Owen Wills scored his second goal, scored two goals in that quarter, which was great.
15:57
SPEAKER_02: And Maryville led 5-3 after one.
16:00
SPEAKER_02: Pretty solid first quarter from both.
16:02
SPEAKER_02: I said, like I said, Maryville jumped out to that real quick lead.
16:06
SPEAKER_02: Uh each team in the second goal, in the second period, traded goals with the Saints outscoring the Lions 3-2 in that quarter, and the Saints still had that three-goal cushion, and it was 8-5 at half.
16:21
SPEAKER_02: In the third, each team played pretty well with both squads making big stops, and St.
16:27
SPEAKER_02: Leo kind of began to chip away because they got guys, Kev.
16:31
SPEAKER_02: They got guys, you know, and and they began to chip away.
16:35
SPEAKER_02: And um had goals by Rauchy and Moltesanti, but every time St.
16:42
SPEAKER_02: Leo scored, Maryville would answer right back.
16:46
SPEAKER_02: Uh Charlton scored, and Taco scored.
16:49
SPEAKER_02: Rauchy scored again for St.
16:51
SPEAKER_02: Leo, and at the end of the third quarter, they he brought it within two.
16:55
SPEAKER_02: Now it was 10-8 Maryville.
16:58
SPEAKER_02: They still had that two-goal cushion.
17:02
SPEAKER_02: St.
17:02
SPEAKER_02: Leo seemed like every time they scored, Maryville would answer.
17:05
SPEAKER_02: So the fourth quarter was a stalemate with no goal scored until the final four minutes of this quarter.
17:13
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
17:13
SPEAKER_02: When Aiden Nogen buried one for St.
17:17
SPEAKER_02: Leo to bring it within 10-9.
17:20
SPEAKER_02: Winger Muley answered, that kid can shoot, man.
17:24
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
17:25
SPEAKER_02: He's got a lefty rip.
17:27
SPEAKER_02: Wingber Muli answered for Maryvelle to give the Saints another two-goal cushion, Kev.
17:34
SPEAKER_02: Now we've got this is like less than four minutes left all going on.
17:38
SPEAKER_02: Ben Baker scored an unassisted goal for St.
17:41
SPEAKER_02: Leo at the 152 mark to bring it within one.
17:47
SPEAKER_02: Ben Baker's uh and and and we and then I'm sorry.
17:51
SPEAKER_02: Aiden Nogen answered for St.
17:53
SPEAKER_02: Leo at the 152 mark and brought that within to one.
17:56
SPEAKER_02: Then Ben Baker scored unassisted for St.
18:00
SPEAKER_02: Leo, and we were tied for the first time, and he scored that goal with 40 seconds left.
18:09
SPEAKER_03: That's that was the amazing thing to me.
18:11
SPEAKER_03: First of all, they they finally tie it with four and they tie it with 40 seconds left.
18:17
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, it was the last four minutes of this game was really, really exciting.
18:22
SPEAKER_02: In overtime, Meryville won the faceoff.
18:25
SPEAKER_02: Passed it over to Wingber Muli.
18:27
SPEAKER_02: Wingber Muli thought his guy was on the like the wing on the left.
18:32
SPEAKER_02: The guy wasn't there.
18:33
SPEAKER_02: He threw the ball right out of bounds.
18:36
SPEAKER_02: Everybody was like, oh now, oh my God, St.
18:39
SPEAKER_02: Leo's got a chance to come back, right?
18:42
SPEAKER_02: And what happened?
18:43
SPEAKER_02: They turned the ball over.
18:45
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but did you see that?
18:47
SPEAKER_03: Because what happened was the player got was double teamed.
18:52
SPEAKER_03: He still had some room to back up, and he he felt like he had to pass it.
18:57
SPEAKER_03: So he winged it high.
18:59
SPEAKER_03: And it was it the his his other player, I forgot who it was, actually caught the ball, but then he went over and back.
19:06
SPEAKER_03: He stepped back over the midline.
19:07
SPEAKER_02: That's right.
19:08
SPEAKER_03: And it was over and back.
19:10
SPEAKER_02: That's right.
19:10
SPEAKER_03: Because I was shocked, you know, that the the camera angle isn't that great.
19:15
SPEAKER_03: They have it up a little bit high, that's fine.
19:16
SPEAKER_03: That's what they're dealing with, what they've got at at Meryville.
19:19
SPEAKER_03: So you couldn't even see that he caught the ball at first.
19:21
SPEAKER_03: He catched the ball, and you're like, oh, St.
19:23
SPEAKER_03: Leo's got it.
19:24
SPEAKER_03: Then you look back, if you do the replay, you see his foot go across, refs call it, gives Maryville the ball.
19:31
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, man.
19:32
SPEAKER_02: It was, you know, and then and then uh Conor Caval was able to bury that biscuit for Maryville to give him the win.
19:41
SPEAKER_02: I mean, St.
19:42
SPEAKER_02: Leo came back.
19:43
SPEAKER_02: But you know what?
19:44
SPEAKER_02: I think for Maryville, the jumping out to that real fast lead and getting those three quick goals right away was kind of like the difference in this game.
19:54
SPEAKER_02: Because 6v6 was kind of even game.
19:57
SPEAKER_02: You know, after after those first three goals, it kind of went back and forth a little bit.
20:01
SPEAKER_02: And like I said, every time St.
20:04
SPEAKER_02: Leo would score, Meryville would answer.
20:08
SPEAKER_02: But St.
20:08
SPEAKER_02: Leo just kept chipping and kept chipping.
20:10
SPEAKER_02: It was a good game.
20:10
SPEAKER_02: It went into overtime.
20:11
SPEAKER_03: So that will tell you how good both those teams are, right?
20:15
SPEAKER_03: Because Maryville, like you said, St.
20:17
SPEAKER_03: Leo was finally chipped away.
20:18
SPEAKER_03: 40 seconds left.
20:19
SPEAKER_03: They tie it up.
20:20
SPEAKER_03: You're thinking, okay, here they come.
20:22
SPEAKER_03: Meryville always had an answer.
20:24
SPEAKER_03: And, you know, there are a couple of mistakes in overtime by both teams.
20:29
SPEAKER_03: A little tight, a little scared, maybe.
20:32
SPEAKER_03: Not scared, it's the wrong word, but you know what I'm saying?
20:34
SPEAKER_03: They're just it was that close of a game.
20:36
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Maryville outshot them 42 to 30.
20:40
SPEAKER_02: Uh shots on goal.
20:41
SPEAKER_02: Maryville had 23.
20:42
SPEAKER_02: St.
20:42
SPEAKER_02: Leo had 19.
20:44
SPEAKER_02: Um, St.
20:45
SPEAKER_02: Leo had 19 turnovers to Maryville's 15.
20:48
SPEAKER_02: Uh, Maryville was 14 for 17 on the clear.
20:52
SPEAKER_02: This is where St.
20:53
SPEAKER_02: Leo struggled a little bit.
20:54
SPEAKER_02: They were 18 for 24 on the clear.
20:57
SPEAKER_02: Uh 26 ground balls for St.
20:59
SPEAKER_02: Leo Lions, 34 ground balls for the Maryville Saints.
21:03
SPEAKER_02: And uh on the extra man, St.
21:05
SPEAKER_02: Leo was two for seven.
21:07
SPEAKER_02: Maryville was uh one for four for St.
21:09
SPEAKER_02: Leo.
21:10
SPEAKER_02: John Raucci, two goals and assist.
21:12
SPEAKER_02: Aiden Nogin, two goals and assists, Ben Baker with two goals.
21:16
SPEAKER_02: Owen Wills, good game.
21:17
SPEAKER_02: Kid's good, man.
21:18
SPEAKER_02: He's really good.
21:19
SPEAKER_02: He better get some nods and some accolades this year.
21:22
SPEAKER_02: Two goals, uh, two ground balls, three cross turnovers.
21:25
SPEAKER_02: Uh Thomas Nealan, uh Tristan LeBlanc, each added one.
21:29
SPEAKER_02: Uh Andrew Graham, who was awesome last week.
21:34
SPEAKER_02: Wasn't so awesome this week.
21:36
SPEAKER_02: Nine for 22 at the dot.
21:38
SPEAKER_02: And Drew Wheeler solid again in goal uh with 11 saves from Meryville.
21:44
SPEAKER_02: Eli Wingbermuley.
21:46
SPEAKER_02: You know where he's from, Kev?
21:48
SPEAKER_02: Where is he from?
21:49
SPEAKER_02: He's from Hillsbury, Hillsboro, Missouri.
21:52
SPEAKER_02: He led all scores with four goals.
21:55
SPEAKER_02: Colin Tobias had two goals and an assist.
21:58
SPEAKER_02: Um, and Connor Caval K.
22:00
SPEAKER_02: Hayden Moon, Luke Charlton, and uh Arlie Watson all ha added a goal.
22:04
SPEAKER_02: Jack Taco had two goals.
22:07
SPEAKER_02: Shea Rayburn, very good face-off kid, man.
22:10
SPEAKER_02: He was 14 for 19 at the dot.
22:12
SPEAKER_02: And Evan Alfano in goal for the Saints, eight saves.
22:17
SPEAKER_02: So Meryville's at 5-1.
22:19
SPEAKER_02: And St.
22:20
SPEAKER_02: Leo's at what?
22:21
SPEAKER_02: 5-2?
22:23
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think so.
22:24
SPEAKER_02: I got a look at the check, yeah.
22:26
SPEAKER_03: So that was a good game.
22:27
SPEAKER_03: It was a fun game to watch.
22:35
SPEAKER_03: That same day.
22:36
SPEAKER_03: Rollins wins in overtime in that game, 10-9.
22:40
SPEAKER_03: Then they swap on Monday, right?
22:42
SPEAKER_03: So Maryville played Rollins.
22:44
SPEAKER_03: Rollins won that one, 11-9.
22:46
SPEAKER_03: They didn't let that go to overtime.
22:47
SPEAKER_03: They actually beat Meryville, and they by the end, you knew it wasn't like the 42nd one we just saw.
22:54
SPEAKER_03: They they won that, but it was still a good game.
22:57
SPEAKER_03: It was close most of the time.
23:00
SPEAKER_03: But Lewis took St.
23:01
SPEAKER_03: Leo to the woodshed a little bit and beat 24 20 to 14.
23:06
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they sure did.
23:08
SPEAKER_03: So great.
23:10
SPEAKER_03: I I love when they do that.
23:11
SPEAKER_03: You know, Coach Dunn was talking about that too when they get together and they play anything.
23:14
SPEAKER_03: That's a just a great way to see a lot of games.
23:16
SPEAKER_03: It's tough to catch all of them.
23:18
SPEAKER_03: I caught most of them this time, but you know what?
23:20
SPEAKER_02: And it's good to see the guys out east traveling to the west now because those guys always come out here.
23:25
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
23:26
SPEAKER_02: You know, they always have to, you know.
23:28
SPEAKER_02: It's about time the East Boys, you know, reciprocated and make that trip.
23:32
SPEAKER_02: And it makes sense to go and get two games out of it.
23:35
SPEAKER_02: You know, go for three three days during your spring break and that type of thing.
23:40
SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
23:41
SPEAKER_03: All right, let's move on.
23:42
SPEAKER_03: Let me talk Flagler Florida Tech.
23:45
SPEAKER_03: This game actually happened on Friday, I'm pretty sure.
23:49
SPEAKER_03: If I go back to my notes, I will tell you, this was a defensive game, Danny.
23:54
SPEAKER_03: Both defenses were playing well in the first quarter.
23:58
SPEAKER_03: And it was a battle like that all the way throughout.
24:00
SPEAKER_03: Flagler, however, was winning most of the face-offs.
24:04
SPEAKER_03: And the other thing that I heard on the on the broadcast, which may contribute to some, I know Coach Duncan wouldn't want to say this.
24:12
SPEAKER_03: Flagler has been dealing with a lot of injuries, and so they're playing a lot more freshmen on offense than what we've seen in the past.
24:19
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I didn't know that.
24:20
SPEAKER_03: Right.
24:20
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
24:21
SPEAKER_03: So there's some freshmen getting getting burned now.
24:24
SPEAKER_03: Now they played pretty well, and you can tell it was a 9-8 game.
24:27
SPEAKER_03: So that's going to help them in the long run.
24:30
SPEAKER_03: It was 3-2 after one Florida Tech.
24:33
SPEAKER_03: And then it became a game of runs.
24:34
SPEAKER_03: Florida Tech scores four in a row to go up 4-2 in the second.
24:39
SPEAKER_03: Saints are going a three-goal run to go up by 1-5-4.
24:43
SPEAKER_03: Then Florida Tech gets two transition goals, and they go up 6-5 with 1-11 left.
24:51
SPEAKER_03: Then another they get another man up goal after an unsportsman-like penalty at the end of that last goal.
24:57
SPEAKER_03: So when they made it 6-5, Flagler gets tagged with unsportsman-like.
25:01
SPEAKER_03: So Florida Tech goes up 7-5 at half.
25:05
SPEAKER_03: And what you're seeing with Flagler do now with their goalies, this is, I think, the second or third game I've seen this in a row.
25:11
SPEAKER_03: Wade Lamon plays the first half, and Jonas Smith comes in goal for the second half.
25:15
SPEAKER_03: And that's exactly what happened this past time.
25:18
SPEAKER_03: Flagler scored man up to tie it up to make it 7-6 with 8 4 43 left in the third quarter.
25:26
SPEAKER_03: And then it kind of goes back and forth.
25:30
SPEAKER_03: Flagler's, you know, it's 9-7 after 3, Florida Tech.
25:34
SPEAKER_03: And like I said, there was great defense on both sides.
25:37
SPEAKER_03: And I'll tell you, just like we saw Florida Tech against Wingate and how effective their slides were.
25:44
SPEAKER_03: Same thing with Floor against Flagler this game.
25:47
SPEAKER_03: They just seemed to slide and recover really well.
25:52
SPEAKER_03: And so it was 9-7 after three.
25:55
SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you how great the defenses were.
25:56
SPEAKER_03: There was only one goal in the fourth quarter, and that was by Flagler with 4.08 remaining in the fourth quarter to make it 9-8, but Florida Tech held on to make it uh to to to win 9-8.
26:12
SPEAKER_02: Florida Tech, man, they're they got a good little schedule coming up.
26:17
SPEAKER_02: They have to play Emory Riddle, Lynn.
26:19
SPEAKER_02: They got Sunshine State coming up.
26:21
SPEAKER_02: And they got a lot of tough games coming up, bro.
26:26
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but I think.
26:29
SPEAKER_03: So they here they at the the team stats, face-offs.
26:34
SPEAKER_03: Flagler uh had 15 to Florida Tech's six to help Flagler stay in the game.
26:41
SPEAKER_03: Extra man, man up.
26:43
SPEAKER_03: Uh Flagler was one for three.
26:44
SPEAKER_03: It's not so much how many goals each made.
26:46
SPEAKER_03: Florida Tech was two, but Flagler was in the box seven times.
26:51
SPEAKER_03: So that did not help them.
26:53
SPEAKER_03: Saves, Flagler had four to Florida Tech seven, and ground balls, Flagler had 26 to Florida Tech 17.
27:00
SPEAKER_03: So you see by the team stats, there's a little give and take on both sides.
27:04
SPEAKER_03: Flagler, Ben Nyberg had three goals, and Trace McDonald had three assists.
27:09
SPEAKER_03: And for Florida Tech, Parker Kane had three goals.
27:11
SPEAKER_03: Max Henry, one goal, two assists.
27:13
SPEAKER_03: Ryan Chancer had one goal, one assist, and Steve Ulrich's on D had three ground balls and four cost turnovers.
27:23
SPEAKER_03: It goes back to how great the defenses were playing.
27:25
SPEAKER_02: It's a really good game.
27:26
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, man.
27:28
SPEAKER_02: Florida Tech goes to five and two.
27:30
SPEAKER_02: Flaglers at six and four.
27:32
SPEAKER_02: And like I said, Florida Tech's got a little bit of a they got they got some games ahead of them.
27:37
SPEAKER_02: I this is gonna really tell us what we have in Florida Tech because they've been a little inconsistent, but they have some big wins under their belt as well.
27:48
SPEAKER_02: And uh I want to see them against Rollins, I want to see them against St.
27:52
SPEAKER_02: Leo, you know.
27:53
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think those are gonna be really, really competitive games.
27:57
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so excellent, excellent job.
28:00
SPEAKER_03: Okay, one more game to go over uh that I I don't think you got to watch because you were ready for another game.
28:06
SPEAKER_03: I was watching this game with my cup of coffee at 6 in the morning in Hawaii in my hotel room.
28:11
SPEAKER_03: Poor guy.
28:12
SPEAKER_03: And that was sub Assumption Against Pace.
28:14
SPEAKER_03: Pouring rain that day.
28:15
SPEAKER_03: It rained every day.
28:17
SPEAKER_03: Did it?
28:18
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, it was crazy.
28:20
SPEAKER_03: That's the thing.
28:21
SPEAKER_03: So Pace pulls this out 11-10.
28:26
SPEAKER_03: This, I have to say, Danny, was once again, it was a it was a game, really a real back and forth game.
28:35
SPEAKER_03: Really back and forth.
28:37
SPEAKER_03: Especially after the first, because Assumption jumped out.
28:40
SPEAKER_03: Assumption just controlled things in the first quarter.
28:44
SPEAKER_03: They had three transition goals to go up three, three-o, and it ended up being four-zero assumption after one.
28:54
SPEAKER_03: Their D defense was very aggressive, and that that let them really control that first quarter, and then their goalie, Shane Corcoran, started off hot in goal for them.
29:07
SPEAKER_03: So the sketter, the setters then score first and the second, so they make it four-one.
29:13
SPEAKER_03: Corcoran continues to hold them back though with a great save, and then immediately gets one on the doorstep off of a rebound.
29:20
SPEAKER_03: So it was a bang bang play that he stopped two goals.
29:24
SPEAKER_03: Just amazing.
29:25
SPEAKER_03: But pace comes back, and they it's five, four and half assumption.
29:32
SPEAKER_03: So they've closed the gap by a lot.
29:34
SPEAKER_03: They continued to trade goals in the second half.
29:38
SPEAKER_03: It goes, it's basically just back and forth.
29:41
SPEAKER_03: It's six-five.
29:42
SPEAKER_03: And then pace ties it up in transition 7-7.
29:45
SPEAKER_03: The Greyhounds uh don't respond.
29:48
SPEAKER_03: The setters take the lead for the first time by Declan Landers off with a great off-ball cut cut from X and getting a great feed on Creese.
29:55
SPEAKER_03: So it seemed like the momentum slowly was swinging toward pace and may start to control the possession time.
30:01
SPEAKER_03: It's 8-8 after three.
30:04
SPEAKER_03: And then you talk about other goalie play, Jack Kern with some unbelievable saves to begin the fourth.
30:11
SPEAKER_03: He's good.
30:11
SPEAKER_03: So you look at that.
30:13
SPEAKER_03: Both had great games.
30:14
SPEAKER_03: If you look at it from uh who had the better games, you know, Shane Corcoran first half, Jack Kern maybe second half, but both just played unbelievable games.
30:25
SPEAKER_03: And I'll tell you, this is how the bath back and forth was exemplified in the fourth quarter.
30:31
SPEAKER_03: Pace tied it up at 655 because they caught Assumption sleeping on D and they get a transition goal to make it 9-9.
30:41
SPEAKER_03: Then 20 seconds later, there's a pass from McCuna McGrath cutting from X to take the lead for Assumption back 10-9.
30:51
SPEAKER_03: Then fast forward several minutes.
30:53
SPEAKER_03: Four minutes go by.
30:56
SPEAKER_03: Assumption takes the lead again.
30:59
SPEAKER_03: Or no, they uh there's a goal by pace to tie it up 10-10.
31:05
SPEAKER_03: And then that's at 2.04.
31:09
SPEAKER_03: 30 seconds later, Matt Badano puts pace up by one with a nice cut up the middle to make it 11-10, and they squeak it out.
31:15
SPEAKER_03: They hold it on for the next minute and a half to win it at 11-10.
31:19
SPEAKER_02: Assumption's tough.
31:20
SPEAKER_02: Pace was lucky to get out there, get out of there with the win.
31:24
SPEAKER_03: We've seen this with several games.
31:26
SPEAKER_03: This is where it's getting really tight, and these teams are very, very close.
31:29
SPEAKER_03: Assumption's a really good game.
31:30
SPEAKER_03: Look at the team stats.
31:31
SPEAKER_03: Shots, assumption 44 to pace, 38.
31:34
SPEAKER_03: This is where pace made it up, though.
31:36
SPEAKER_03: Shots on goal, 23 for assumption, 26 for pace.
31:41
SPEAKER_03: Great efficiency by pace.
31:44
SPEAKER_03: Turnovers, Assumption had 19 of paces, 15.
31:47
SPEAKER_03: All the rest were pretty even.
31:49
SPEAKER_03: So that'll give you a little bit of a nod to pace in that one.
31:52
SPEAKER_03: For assumption, Patrick McGrath had two goals, two assists, Ben McHugh had two goals, and Boomer Staunton had two goals and one assist.
32:00
SPEAKER_03: For pace, Matt Baldino led the scoring with four goals.
32:04
SPEAKER_03: Will Donowski, who's one of the biggest offensive players out there, is like 6'5, 220, three goals, one assist.
32:12
SPEAKER_03: Declan Landers followed up with two goals, one assist.
32:15
SPEAKER_03: And Ose Odoma, six ground balls, one cost turnover for Pace.
32:22
SPEAKER_03: That's a good day.
32:22
SPEAKER_03: That's a good day.
32:23
SPEAKER_03: It was a really, really close game.
32:27
SPEAKER_03: Both pace and assumption.
32:29
SPEAKER_03: You know, I think pace is higher ranked, but you can see how close Assumption in years past.
32:36
SPEAKER_03: Last year maybe they they put on I don't know what the score is last year, but Assumption is no joke anymore.
32:42
SPEAKER_03: They're six and two.
32:43
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they're a damn good team, and it was a great game to watch, really back and forth.
32:48
SPEAKER_02: They lost to Mercy and they lost to Pace.
32:50
SPEAKER_02: That's it.
32:51
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
32:51
SPEAKER_02: They're a good team.
32:52
SPEAKER_02: They're a good team.
32:53
SPEAKER_02: And they faced AIC next.
32:56
SPEAKER_02: And then they got a tough one with St.
32:57
SPEAKER_02: Ace.
32:58
SPEAKER_02: And then they got a winnable game against St.
33:00
SPEAKER_02: Michael's.
33:01
SPEAKER_02: I mean Franklin Pierce.
33:03
SPEAKER_02: I think a winnable game against St.
33:05
SPEAKER_02: Michaels.
33:05
SPEAKER_02: I think that assumption, St.
33:06
SPEAKER_02: Michael's game, is going to be a big, big game in the NE 10.
33:11
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
33:11
SPEAKER_02: That's that's going to be who's coming in, who's coming into the playoff picture and what seeding.
33:18
SPEAKER_02: And I think that's then they play a Delphi, then they play Bentley.
33:21
SPEAKER_02: I think they have three winnable games, assumption, in those last games.
33:25
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they have a chance against Bentley.
33:27
SPEAKER_03: You know, so I I think they are they are looking strong.
33:30
SPEAKER_03: And of course, pace is right there too.
33:32
SPEAKER_03: Like pace is always there.
33:33
SPEAKER_03: I think that's why we're we're we're not discounting pace.
33:36
SPEAKER_03: We always expect pace to be there.
33:38
SPEAKER_03: It's assumption from the years past.
33:39
SPEAKER_03: Last year, they finally really had a really good, strong season, and they're backing it up this year.
33:47
SPEAKER_02: Pace is six and one.
33:48
SPEAKER_02: They're six and one.
33:49
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
33:50
SPEAKER_02: Their only loss was the first game to Malloy, which was a great game, which I was at, which was I didn't want to see Coach Mariano after that game.
33:58
SPEAKER_02: I thought him I was going to come over.
34:00
SPEAKER_02: I said, nah, maybe next time.
34:02
SPEAKER_02: But I mean, they've they got they've had a pretty kind of easy schedule so far.
34:09
SPEAKER_02: You know, Georgian Court kind of only got there.
34:12
SPEAKER_02: I mean, they did play Wilmington and beat him.
34:14
SPEAKER_02: I mean, they played St.
34:15
SPEAKER_02: Thomas Aquinas.
34:17
SPEAKER_02: They beat Assumption, but Pace has Seton Hill coming up.
34:20
SPEAKER_02: They got St.
34:21
SPEAKER_02: Mike's coming up, and then they got NE-10 with Southern New Hampshire, who's much improved.
34:26
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
34:27
SPEAKER_02: And then they got Bentley Adelphis and St.
34:29
SPEAKER_02: A's to close it out.
34:31
SPEAKER_02: So they got three.
34:33
SPEAKER_03: You talk about Assumption.
34:34
SPEAKER_03: Assumption played Southern New Hampshire yesterday and beat them.
34:39
SPEAKER_03: If you look at the score, it seemed like they beat them handily.
34:43
SPEAKER_03: That was a defensive struggle through that first half.
34:47
SPEAKER_03: I watched three quarters of that game before I had to catch my flight.
34:52
SPEAKER_03: Southern New Hampshire's defense played really well.
34:56
SPEAKER_03: It was like 1-0 Southern New Hampshire after the first quarter.
35:00
SPEAKER_03: It was really a tight game.
35:02
SPEAKER_03: Now Assumption pulls it out.
35:03
SPEAKER_03: So once again, it tells you because Southern New Hampshire's no joke this year either.
35:07
SPEAKER_03: So I know.
35:08
SPEAKER_03: They're the surprise.
35:30
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I agree.
35:32
SPEAKER_03: Okay, let's move on to what our game of the week last week was, and you were at, my friend, the Crown Classic, Wingate against Lenore Ryan.
35:42
SPEAKER_03: Did you watch the game, Kev?
35:44
SPEAKER_03: I did.
35:45
SPEAKER_03: I had to pay 16 bucks.
35:47
SPEAKER_03: I had to pay 15.
35:50
SPEAKER_03: But you got to see it live.
35:52
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but you got to see all the replays.
35:54
SPEAKER_03: That's true.
35:55
SPEAKER_03: Well, I'll tell you, I think I told you this when we talked the other day.
35:59
SPEAKER_03: It was probably the best 16 bucks for a D2 game I ever spent, and I'll tell you why.
36:04
SPEAKER_03: Because they do a great job of getting really good close camera angles.
36:13
SPEAKER_03: You really feel like you're watching like an uh a D1 ESPN game.
36:17
SPEAKER_03: That's how good of the quality it was.
36:20
SPEAKER_03: It was so a lot of fun to watch.
36:22
SPEAKER_03: I really wish I could have been there.
36:23
SPEAKER_03: Like I felt like I I've been the Crown Classic before.
36:26
SPEAKER_03: I want to go every year.
36:27
SPEAKER_03: In the last few years, I haven't been able to do it, but it was just phenomenal.
36:30
SPEAKER_03: What'd you think?
36:31
SPEAKER_02: Well, first of all, it was the biggest one yet.
36:34
SPEAKER_02: I mean, as far as fans were concerned, I mean that UNC Penn State team game pulled in a lot of fans.
36:41
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
36:42
SPEAKER_02: But I mean, it was just it's so well done, Kevin.
36:46
SPEAKER_02: It's such a well-done, well-coordinated event.
36:49
SPEAKER_02: Um, it's my favorite lacrosse event of the sea of the year.
36:54
SPEAKER_02: Where else can you go and get four games in one afternoon in such a beautiful spot?
36:59
SPEAKER_02: And they sell high C's at this at the stadium, and they have big the big tall ones too, you know.
37:05
SPEAKER_02: So it makes it pretty good.
37:07
SPEAKER_02: It's just a great day.
37:08
SPEAKER_02: It was uh uh the weather couldn't have been any more perfect.
37:11
SPEAKER_02: It was like it was actually pretty hot because I'm coming from New York where it's still like 30.
37:16
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
37:16
SPEAKER_02: It was 76.
37:18
SPEAKER_02: I got some sunburn on my neck.
37:20
SPEAKER_02: I was drinking moonshine.
37:21
SPEAKER_02: I was like, what am I doing?
37:24
SPEAKER_02: It was a good time.
37:25
SPEAKER_02: It was a great game.
37:27
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it was a really good game.
37:29
SPEAKER_02: Um, I thought, I thought Wingate's defense played really, really well in this game.
37:35
SPEAKER_03: I agree with you.
37:36
SPEAKER_03: I actually even said, if you remember saying the thing, I said, whose defense shows up?
37:41
SPEAKER_03: And I will tell you, first of all, overall, totally agree with you.
37:45
SPEAKER_03: Wingate's defense locked in after the first minute and a half, locked in and played great.
37:53
SPEAKER_03: As well as you remember, Coach Dunn said that he thought he thought Quad Williams would have a breakout game.
38:00
SPEAKER_03: Yes.
38:01
SPEAKER_03: Quad Williams, especially in that second half.
38:06
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it made some big saves.
38:08
SPEAKER_03: Here's what's funny.
38:08
SPEAKER_03: If you look at that first minute, what I wrote down was Wingate's defense didn't even seem to be awake.
38:14
SPEAKER_03: I mean, Lenore Ryan scored three goals in the first minute.
38:18
SPEAKER_03: And they were bang bang.
38:19
SPEAKER_03: They were it was like they got to their spots and Wingate didn't know how to act.
38:24
SPEAKER_02: Let's talk about Mr.
38:25
SPEAKER_02: Mancini for a second, the face-off kid for LR.
38:28
SPEAKER_02: I I was watching him, you know, just watching him like trot on the field, trot off the field.
38:34
SPEAKER_02: I was kind of like, what's this?
38:36
SPEAKER_02: This kid's an athlete, Kev.
38:38
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
38:38
SPEAKER_02: He's a he's a true stud dog athlete.
38:42
SPEAKER_02: He's got the body for it, he's got that size, he's got the speed, he's got the toughness, he's got that gait.
38:50
SPEAKER_02: Just watching him trot off the field, he's got that gait to him.
38:53
SPEAKER_02: You know, I can't, you know what I mean?
38:55
SPEAKER_02: You're like, yeah, that kid's got it.
38:57
SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
38:58
SPEAKER_02: He's so good and so strong at the face-off.
39:00
SPEAKER_02: His first clamp was a clamp and go.
39:04
SPEAKER_02: Bomb.
39:05
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it was it was a fast break right from the very first face-off.
39:10
SPEAKER_02: Mancini came down, found this man, right, bing, bang, boom, goal.
39:15
SPEAKER_02: I don't think it was 14, 13 seconds were off the clock.
39:20
SPEAKER_02: And LR was on the board.
39:23
SPEAKER_02: Second face-off, Mancini wins the clamp again, shh, flies down the field.
39:28
SPEAKER_02: Now the defense gets their man, but they leave Mancini open.
39:32
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right in the middle.
39:34
SPEAKER_02: Right on the crease.
39:36
SPEAKER_02: Quad Williams had no chance to stop that ball.
39:39
SPEAKER_02: So it was 2-0.
39:40
SPEAKER_02: Then Mancini won't wins the third faceoff.
39:46
SPEAKER_02: Same thing.
39:47
SPEAKER_02: Comes down, bing, bang, boom, three-nothing within like a minute and 14 seconds were off the clock.
39:53
SPEAKER_02: I said to myself, Oh shit.
39:57
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
39:57
SPEAKER_02: LR is here to play.
39:59
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
40:00
SPEAKER_02: And then Wingate put the next face-off guy in, Dylan Rufford came in, won his face-off.
40:07
SPEAKER_02: Wingate set up their offense, did a little 6v6, bang, scored.
40:11
SPEAKER_02: So, and then they won the second face off, their next face-off, came down, set up their offense, 6v6, worked the ball, looked good, fast, boom, scored.
40:22
SPEAKER_02: Then they won the third face-off.
40:24
SPEAKER_02: So now it was 3-3 in that time.
40:27
SPEAKER_02: So, like once Wingate got the ball, they were able to score.
40:32
SPEAKER_02: That explosion was crazy, though.
40:35
SPEAKER_02: Um, that's fast break goals by Jared Hoffman Cini and Brush N all within the first minute.
40:41
SPEAKER_02: LR fans were going nuts.
40:44
SPEAKER_02: And the Wingate fans were like, what's going on?
40:49
SPEAKER_02: Palms up in the air and jaws down.
40:52
SPEAKER_02: Um but uh Wingate won the next couple of face-offs, like I just said, and guess what?
40:58
SPEAKER_02: They scored on both possessions.
40:59
SPEAKER_02: Kyle Spence and Joey Moran both buried biscuits for the Bulldogs.
41:02
SPEAKER_02: Rupert won the ensuing face-off for the Dogs, and Jack Murray got his first of the day.
41:08
SPEAKER_02: And like that, we were tied.
41:10
SPEAKER_02: Murray found Matt Benzing all alone, and Benzing buried one for the Bulldogs, and the Dogs took the lead and never looked back, Kev.
41:19
SPEAKER_02: Never looked back.
41:21
unknown: Yeah.
41:22
SPEAKER_03: It stayed close within one goal for a while through the first, but yeah, you're right.
41:26
SPEAKER_03: It was 5'4 after one, Wingate.
41:28
SPEAKER_02: It was 9-5 at half.
41:30
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
41:31
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
41:32
SPEAKER_03: And um And I will tell you, when it got when it was 5-4, I'm like, okay, after one, I'm like, this is the kind of game it's going to be.
41:41
SPEAKER_03: Wingate's offense and defense showed in that second quarter.
41:48
SPEAKER_03: You know, they really balled out.
41:50
SPEAKER_03: They locked in on both sides.
41:51
SPEAKER_03: I mean, their their offense was moving the ball.
41:53
SPEAKER_03: You didn't know who was going to take it and who was going to score.
41:56
SPEAKER_03: And they went up by by four goals, which kind of shocked me against LR.
42:01
SPEAKER_03: I was saying to my son, I'm like, this was by that time at half, I I felt like it was the first Wingate LR stress-free game I've witnessed in a long time.
42:14
SPEAKER_02: That's so funny that you say that.
42:17
SPEAKER_02: I understand completely what you mean.
42:19
SPEAKER_03: But after at half, I was I was waiting for the the other shoe to drop and for LR to come back.
42:26
SPEAKER_03: Now they got a little momentum back.
42:27
SPEAKER_03: They got it within two, and then at the end, what did Wingate do?
42:30
SPEAKER_03: The offense.
42:31
SPEAKER_03: And the defense locked down, Quad Williams, like I said, had some great goals.
42:35
SPEAKER_03: But the offense stayed steady, and they they put it to him, and they, you know, they got you know, they brought it up to like four goals again at one point.
42:44
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, a couple of freshmen played really good for Wingate.
42:47
SPEAKER_02: I think Wingate's finding their stride now, finding their like their niche on D.
42:52
SPEAKER_02: Their offense, their ones have looked good for like the last two, three weeks.
42:56
SPEAKER_02: I mean, they started out slow.
42:58
SPEAKER_02: I think a lot of teams started out slow this year.
43:00
SPEAKER_02: I don't there wasn't too many teams that started out except for Anderson, maybe Adelphi and Tampa that started out with this great explosion.
43:09
SPEAKER_02: But I I think Wingate's starting to put it together, but I was really impressed with their defense.
43:15
SPEAKER_02: Their defense is really good.
43:17
SPEAKER_02: The short stick D-mids, let me tell you something.
43:20
SPEAKER_02: If both of these short stick D mids don't get accolades for something, something's wrong.
43:25
SPEAKER_02: Because Mason McGivron played a hell of a game the other day.
43:29
SPEAKER_02: And Matt PayPal, the other short stick D mid, he's he's playing like an all-American this year, if you ask me.
43:38
SPEAKER_03: Here's what my note was for Matt PayPal.
43:40
SPEAKER_03: He knows what gum his LA LR player is chewing.
43:46
SPEAKER_03: That's how close he was.
43:48
SPEAKER_03: I mean, he he didn't he was right on him, you know just checking him, checking him, but like he couldn't get by him.
43:56
SPEAKER_03: And then first of all, he's he does not make He doesn't make mistakes.
44:01
SPEAKER_03: So if you want you want someone to be able to transition the ball for you, because he's an offensive player.
44:08
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
44:08
SPEAKER_03: He's that skill level.
44:10
SPEAKER_03: So you start him off and he plays defensive mini like that.
44:15
SPEAKER_02: He's he's really good.
44:16
SPEAKER_02: He's he's just like I like watching him play, just like the little things that he does.
44:21
SPEAKER_02: Just the ground balls, the vision, where his head is at, the IQ, you know?
44:27
SPEAKER_02: And just I think having him on the defensive side of the ball for one gate really gives them a big advantage like that.
44:33
SPEAKER_02: And again, these two, the two freshmen, Treo Callahan and Reno Vorderland, were I can't even pronounce that last name.
44:41
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna have to I'm gonna have to find out from coach, but they really played well, you know, and they really were able to, and you know, you put it really well.
44:50
SPEAKER_02: It it was a stress-free Wingate win over LR because LR has really gotten the better of Wingate for a lot of years, and I've been the witness to it from many of them.
45:02
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, if you look at it, it was 12-7 after three.
45:05
SPEAKER_03: Jared Huff brings it to 12-10, so they scored the next three goals with 646 left in the fourth.
45:14
SPEAKER_03: And I thought that's when I thought, like, okay, you knew this was coming sometime.
45:19
SPEAKER_03: Uh, you know, obviously what helped them was Mancini because they're winning face-offs and be able to make it take it.
45:26
SPEAKER_03: But but at that point, it's 12-10.
45:30
SPEAKER_03: And this was a cra kind of a crazy goal.
45:34
SPEAKER_03: Joey Moran hits Pipe off a great shot, and the rebound goes right to Vinnie Batrico for a goal.
45:40
SPEAKER_03: Did you remember that one?
45:41
SPEAKER_03: That was crazy that he got that.
45:44
SPEAKER_03: And then uh then there was a nice give and go go give and go goal from Clark to Spence back to Clark to make it 14-10, bring it back up to four goals.
45:55
SPEAKER_03: And then what do you say?
45:56
SPEAKER_03: That that that's I I wrote right then.
45:58
SPEAKER_03: That was 106 left, that's all she wrote.
46:01
SPEAKER_03: Wingate got it back, and who runs out the clock?
46:04
SPEAKER_03: Jackson Grant and then Matt PayPal.
46:08
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
46:10
SPEAKER_02: You know what?
46:10
SPEAKER_02: For LR, you know, I l I still think their offense is very good.
46:15
SPEAKER_02: They just they ran into a good defensive team, you know.
46:18
SPEAKER_02: They ran into a good defensive team, LR, this year this week.
46:22
SPEAKER_02: Um, that team, they looked really good on defense.
46:25
SPEAKER_02: I mean, Quad was at 53, 54%, maybe, something like that, maybe just around 54%.
46:32
SPEAKER_02: So that's he's been averaging around 50.
46:34
SPEAKER_02: It's some of the saves that he had, though.
46:36
SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, no, no, he played much better and it was.
46:39
SPEAKER_02: He he he gets he gets psyched in big games.
46:42
SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, I mean, I liked Wingate goes to what, five and one?
46:46
SPEAKER_02: And I gotta be honest with you, I don't think I've ever seen LR so far back in the standings at 3-3 and in the in the national rankings.
46:57
SPEAKER_02: I don't recall out of top ten.
47:01
SPEAKER_02: I can remember.
47:02
SPEAKER_03: I think it was 2019.
47:04
SPEAKER_03: They were out of the top ten?
47:06
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
47:07
SPEAKER_03: That's the year that that was uh my son's first year playing at Wingate.
47:15
SPEAKER_03: And uh Wingate was ranked a little bit higher.
47:18
SPEAKER_03: Wingate ended up beating them twice.
47:20
SPEAKER_03: They beat him in the regular season and then beat LR in the semifinals fairly handily that year.
47:28
SPEAKER_03: So I don't know where they were they were ranked, but I'm not sure they were ranked in the top ten back then.
47:33
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so Wingate goes to six and one, and Lenore Ryan is at three and three.
47:38
SPEAKER_02: Great game and great, just a great venue, and then UNC Penn State for the for the nightcap.
47:45
SPEAKER_02: They had three parachute guys jump out of planes and come parachuting into the uh pretty cool.
47:53
SPEAKER_02: It was a great day.
47:54
SPEAKER_02: It was really great.
47:55
SPEAKER_03: And so just some of the score, like you said about LR's offense.
47:59
SPEAKER_03: Donnie Powell with two goals, three assists, great game.
48:01
SPEAKER_03: Jared Huff, three goals.
48:03
SPEAKER_03: Owen Scott, two goals.
48:04
SPEAKER_03: Here's the difference.
48:05
SPEAKER_03: Matt Mancini, 20 of 27.
48:09
SPEAKER_03: And then the goalies, which they had struggled before, they didn't have great games, but they were both over 50%.
48:14
SPEAKER_03: Gavin Conlin was 50%, Gavin Stabil was 58%.
48:18
SPEAKER_03: Here's what I would say also for those players.
48:21
SPEAKER_03: There were some goals that weren't their fault.
48:24
SPEAKER_03: 100% right.
48:25
SPEAKER_02: You're 100% right.
48:26
SPEAKER_02: Wingate was beating their one-on-one matchups.
48:30
SPEAKER_02: These guys were wide open in the passing.
48:33
SPEAKER_02: These guys were wide open from five yards away.
48:35
SPEAKER_02: There's not much a goalie can do.
48:39
SPEAKER_02: And you know what?
48:40
SPEAKER_02: I agree with you.
48:40
SPEAKER_02: Not all of these goals.
48:42
SPEAKER_02: I thought Gavin Gonlin played really well in the first half.
48:45
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he just had some goals.
48:46
SPEAKER_03: I was kind of surprised that they took him out.
48:49
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he had more shots on him, 18 shots, and he only got 50%.
48:53
SPEAKER_03: Gavin Sibele only had 12 shots and he had 58.
48:56
SPEAKER_03: But, you know, maybe they're just doing that.
48:59
SPEAKER_03: Maybe that's the same thing.
49:00
SPEAKER_03: They're gonna have them each play a half.
49:01
SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
49:02
SPEAKER_03: But you look at it from the Wingate side, Quad Williams was 55%.
49:05
SPEAKER_03: So right in the middle of those two guys.
49:07
SPEAKER_03: But Vinny Patrico and Sean Clark both had three goals.
49:10
SPEAKER_03: Jack Murray, three goals, one assist.
49:12
SPEAKER_03: Great game for him.
49:13
SPEAKER_03: Kyle Spence, as usual, two goals, three assists, and Jackson Grant with one goal, one assist, and then several other players with with a goal.
49:21
SPEAKER_03: So it was what I what you see from Wingate is you know, you you've got the guys like Joey Moran and and others that usually you see even there's just so many weapons that Wingate has on offense.
49:37
SPEAKER_03: Now you flip it around, their defense, their their whole team played a solid 59 minutes of ball to win that game.
49:45
SPEAKER_02: The one first minute and 14 seconds was all LR.
49:49
SPEAKER_02: You're right.
49:49
SPEAKER_02: And then the next 59 minutes was all Wingate.
49:52
SPEAKER_02: A really good game, man.
49:54
SPEAKER_02: You know, and it's a conference game.
49:55
SPEAKER_02: It's a it's a great uh day, a great venue.
49:58
SPEAKER_02: Win or lose, everybody wins at that at that event.
50:01
SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
50:02
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I agree.
50:03
SPEAKER_02: In the crease, player of the week, offense.
50:08
SPEAKER_02: All right, Kev.
50:09
SPEAKER_02: Um, my offensive player of the week, I have a runner-up.
50:13
SPEAKER_02: Okay?
50:14
SPEAKER_02: My runner-up this week goes to the junior midfield from Wingate, Jack Murray, who had three goals and one assist against LR, had a really, really big game, came up in big moments when the team needed a big score.
50:29
SPEAKER_02: He was there to do it.
50:30
SPEAKER_02: His best game is a Bulldog.
50:32
SPEAKER_02: So runner-up to Jack Murray and uh from Wingate.
50:36
SPEAKER_02: And my offensive player of the week goes to Noah Simpson from Holy Family, Kev.
50:46
SPEAKER_02: The sophomore attack from Ontario had six goals and two assists and a beatdown over Felician.
50:55
SPEAKER_02: So Noah Simpson, six goals and two assists.
50:57
SPEAKER_02: Holy Family, you are my offensive player of the week.
51:03
SPEAKER_02: In the crease, player of the week, defense.
51:08
SPEAKER_03: All right, defensive player of the week.
51:12
SPEAKER_03: I have two runners up for you.
51:14
SPEAKER_03: First is Ose Odama of Pace.
51:20
SPEAKER_03: He had six ground balls and one cost turnover against Assumption.
51:23
SPEAKER_03: I already mentioned him earlier, and another player I mentioned earlier as another runner-up, had a great game.
51:27
SPEAKER_03: Steve Ulrich of Florida Tech, three ground balls, four cost turnovers against Flagler.
51:34
SPEAKER_03: But the man for this week is a teammate of the player we're having on for our player player spotlight, and that's Michael Jensen of Coker with five ground balls and four cost turnovers against LMU.
51:54
SPEAKER_02: That's a great game.
51:55
SPEAKER_02: Congratulations.
51:56
SPEAKER_02: What a game.
51:57
SPEAKER_02: Wow.
51:57
SPEAKER_02: So that's our offensive player and defensive player of the week, Kev.
52:01
SPEAKER_03: Love it.
52:02
SPEAKER_03: I love it.
52:02
SPEAKER_03: Now it's time to move on to our games to watch this week.
52:08
SPEAKER_03: Who do you got?
52:10
SPEAKER_02: Well, I like what's going on in the Sunshine State conference a little bit.
52:16
SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of moving around going on down there with Rollins winning a couple of big games, St.
52:22
SPEAKER_02: Leo losing a couple of games.
52:25
SPEAKER_02: But Florida Tech looking solid.
52:27
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
52:28
SPEAKER_02: And then Emory Riddle looking pretty solid.
52:30
SPEAKER_02: And Emory Riddle travels to Florida Tech this week.
52:34
SPEAKER_02: So I think that's going to be a big game.
52:36
SPEAKER_02: I think it's got conference implications.
52:39
SPEAKER_02: I think it's got playoff implications.
52:41
SPEAKER_02: And for Florida Tech, it's got national implications.
52:46
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I agree.
52:48
SPEAKER_03: That is a really good game.
52:50
SPEAKER_03: I've got another one for you, Danny, on Saturday, the 21st that has conference implications, and that's Davenport at Walsh.
52:59
SPEAKER_03: Davenport is at 3-0 in conference.
53:02
SPEAKER_03: Walsh is at 3-1.
53:04
SPEAKER_03: The difference?
53:05
SPEAKER_03: Walsh lost to Northwood 12-11.
53:08
SPEAKER_03: Davenport hasn't played them yet.
53:10
SPEAKER_03: It's those three teams behind Seton Hill.
53:15
SPEAKER_03: It's a really important conference matchup to see how those guys match up against each other.
53:20
SPEAKER_03: We know Seaton Hill probably is going to win the conference.
53:24
SPEAKER_03: They're going to get the automatic qualifier.
53:26
SPEAKER_03: These teams are trying to get to that next level, and they've got to play each other and play at a level.
53:31
SPEAKER_03: That's why I think that's a really good game.
53:33
SPEAKER_02: They're looking for a chance to take down Seaton Hill.
53:36
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
53:37
SPEAKER_02: They're looking for the opportunity to get there to take them down.
53:40
SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
53:41
SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
53:41
SPEAKER_02: And that's why this game is important.
53:43
SPEAKER_02: And both teams are playing pretty well this year.
53:46
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
53:47
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they are.
53:48
SPEAKER_03: So I I think that's a really good game.
53:50
SPEAKER_03: Who else are you looking at?
53:52
SPEAKER_02: Well, so the in the NE ten, we got some things going on now in the NE10 a little bit, with Southern New Hampshire being so improved and making some noise a little bit.
54:06
SPEAKER_02: And they play St.
54:07
SPEAKER_02: Mike's this week.
54:08
SPEAKER_02: St.
54:08
SPEAKER_02: Mike's been great all year.
54:10
SPEAKER_02: I think this is going to be a really good battle.
54:13
SPEAKER_02: It's an NE10 conference battle.
54:15
SPEAKER_02: I think it's got playoff implications already at this part of the season, even though it's just starting any 10 play, really.
54:24
SPEAKER_02: I think it's a big game.
54:26
SPEAKER_03: I agree with you.
54:27
SPEAKER_03: I agree with you totally.
54:28
SPEAKER_03: Here's another NE10 team playing on Saturday, but they're out of conference.
54:33
SPEAKER_03: They're playing Seton Hill.
54:35
SPEAKER_03: Seton Hill's number five.
54:36
SPEAKER_03: Pace is 11.
54:38
SPEAKER_03: Seton Hill is 5-1 with a loss to Delphi.
54:41
SPEAKER_03: Pace is 6-1 with an overtime loss to Malloy in their first game.
54:45
SPEAKER_03: My question, Danny, is can Jack Kern of Pace handle Seton Hill's offensive prowess?
54:52
SPEAKER_03: Like that's going to be the test, I think.
54:55
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
54:55
SPEAKER_03: In that game.
54:56
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
54:56
SPEAKER_03: Do you got any predictions for that one?
54:58
SPEAKER_02: We're going to make picks in a second, look by the way.
55:00
SPEAKER_02: All right.
55:02
SPEAKER_03: Then who else are you looking at?
55:03
SPEAKER_03: That's it.
55:03
SPEAKER_02: We got just the game of the week now.
55:05
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I've got one other one that I think is pretty interesting.
55:08
SPEAKER_03: This is another uh conference implication.
55:10
SPEAKER_03: Frostburg at Malloy on Saturday.
55:13
SPEAKER_03: Frostburg beat both Bentley and Mercy, who were ranked number 12 and number 14 respectively, but he played both at home.
55:22
SPEAKER_03: They're now going to Malloy, who's 4-2 and 1-0 in conference, who took care of Roberts Wesley and Hanniley.
55:29
SPEAKER_03: They have yet to play Mercy, Malloy has.
55:31
SPEAKER_03: Can Frostburg repeat itself and beat another top 20 team?
55:37
SPEAKER_03: I'm going to say Malloy takes this one.
55:40
SPEAKER_03: I like Malloy.
55:41
SPEAKER_02: I like Malloy at home.
55:43
SPEAKER_02: They're strong, Malloy.
55:44
SPEAKER_02: They're good.
55:46
SPEAKER_02: So at Seton Hill at pace, who do you like?
55:48
SPEAKER_02: At pace.
55:50
SPEAKER_03: It's at pace.
55:51
SPEAKER_03: Pleasantville.
55:54
SPEAKER_03: Ah, this is a this could be a pick'em game.
55:57
SPEAKER_03: I'm going Seton Hill.
55:58
SPEAKER_03: I'm going to go pace setters.
56:00
SPEAKER_03: I like it.
56:01
SPEAKER_03: I like I think this is a pick'em game.
56:03
SPEAKER_02: I really do.
56:04
SPEAKER_02: I like the pace setters at home.
56:06
SPEAKER_02: I think, you know what, they've been playing well.
56:07
SPEAKER_02: They're sitting at 6-1.
56:09
SPEAKER_02: They're doing pretty good, man.
56:11
SPEAKER_02: You know, like they're quietly, you know, all right, one or two goal games.
56:16
SPEAKER_02: W's don't have to be pretty.
56:17
SPEAKER_02: They don't have to be by 17 goals either.
56:20
SPEAKER_03: When you're a solid team like Pace, you can play anyone.
56:24
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
56:24
SPEAKER_03: Ws a W.
56:25
SPEAKER_03: You can beat anyone.
56:26
SPEAKER_03: They could beat a Delphi.
56:28
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
56:28
SPEAKER_03: I mean, literally, they have the talent to do it.
56:31
SPEAKER_03: Seton Hill didn't show up for that game against a Delphi.
56:33
SPEAKER_02: So I like Coach Mariano and Jack Kern back in the goal, and I like the setters in that game.
56:39
SPEAKER_03: I like it.
56:39
SPEAKER_02: So uh ER and Florida Tech, who do you like?
56:43
SPEAKER_03: Where is that game?
56:43
SPEAKER_03: Is that at Florida Tech?
56:45
SPEAKER_03: At Florida Tech.
56:46
SPEAKER_03: I'm taking Florida Tech.
56:50
SPEAKER_03: This It's like what Florida Tech team's gonna show up, right?
56:54
SPEAKER_03: If their defense shows up like they did against Wingate and they did against Flagler, they get the win.
57:01
SPEAKER_03: I think that's the difference.
57:03
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go with Florida Tech in this one.
57:06
SPEAKER_02: They have been playing well.
57:07
SPEAKER_02: I think Emory Riddle's gonna really gonna have to play an exceptional game.
57:13
SPEAKER_02: And they're they're capable of it.
57:14
SPEAKER_02: They're playing so well.
57:15
SPEAKER_02: John Jez is just doing a remarkable job there.
57:19
SPEAKER_02: But I think I'm gonna have to give it to Florida Tech and the Panthers.
57:23
SPEAKER_03: I jumped out quickly on my answer, but this could be a pick'em game, too, to be honest.
57:27
SPEAKER_02: Again, like again, which Florida Tech team are we gonna get?
57:31
SPEAKER_02: You know, like they they've been somewhat inconsistent, but then again, not a whole lot of teams have been playing lights out, you know, yeah.
57:40
SPEAKER_02: Not a whole lot.
57:42
SPEAKER_02: So I like Florida Tech in that game.
57:44
SPEAKER_02: And then we got Southern New Hampshire at St.
57:47
SPEAKER_02: Mike's.
57:49
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
57:50
SPEAKER_03: It's at St.
57:51
SPEAKER_03: Mike's.
57:52
SPEAKER_03: It's at St.
57:53
SPEAKER_03: Mike's.
57:53
SPEAKER_03: St.
57:54
SPEAKER_03: Mike's has played really well out of conference.
57:59
SPEAKER_03: Southern New Hampshire.
58:03
SPEAKER_03: I actually think Southern New Hampshire is gonna win this game.
58:07
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
58:07
SPEAKER_02: St.
58:08
SPEAKER_02: Mike's five and one.
58:10
SPEAKER_02: Southern New Hampshire's four and one.
58:13
SPEAKER_03: I think Southern New Hampshire has their playing Assumption's actually gonna help them against St.
58:21
SPEAKER_03: Mike's.
58:22
SPEAKER_02: And you know what?
58:22
SPEAKER_02: They've played two good teams.
58:24
SPEAKER_02: They beat Malloy, right?
58:25
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
58:26
SPEAKER_02: And they lost to Assumption.
58:28
SPEAKER_03: I think they they they've they've had the tougher schedule, and I think that sets them up well against St.
58:36
SPEAKER_03: Mike's.
58:39
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go Southern New Hampshire.
58:46
SPEAKER_02: It took a lot for me to go that way.
58:49
SPEAKER_03: There's some great matchups this week.
58:51
SPEAKER_03: Like, how are you gonna We're just knuckled?
58:53
SPEAKER_03: We're gonna get them, we're gonna get half wrong at least anyway.
58:55
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, we'll be eating crow next week.
58:57
SPEAKER_02: But I think those games are really important.
58:59
SPEAKER_02: Like, when we think when we talk about games to watch, it's not just like, oh, let's watch the top ten or the top five teams every week.
59:07
SPEAKER_02: We're looking at teams that are making noise and could possibly make noise at the end here.
59:12
SPEAKER_02: And here's a perfect example of St.
59:15
SPEAKER_02: Southern New Hampshire who's vastly improved, and St.
59:18
SPEAKER_02: Mike's who's been really kicking butt gun all year.
59:21
SPEAKER_03: And like you said, they it has huge implications for where they end up in seeding for their conference, and do they make it into the playoffs and who do they play against?
59:30
SPEAKER_03: And that's and that's all confidence builders for them in the NE ten.
59:34
SPEAKER_03: If they won, they get they're like, okay, I can take on a Bentley, okay, I can take on a St.
59:38
SPEAKER_03: A's, right?
59:38
SPEAKER_03: So that's yeah, that's what they got to think.
1:00:23
SPEAKER_03: Our game of the week this week.
1:00:25
SPEAKER_03: It's another N matchup.
1:00:28
SPEAKER_03: It's next Wednesday, Bentley against St.
1:00:32
SPEAKER_03: A's.
1:00:33
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
1:00:36
SPEAKER_02: This should be something.
1:00:37
SPEAKER_02: Bentley goes up and face St.
1:00:40
SPEAKER_02: A's up uptown, up upstate there.
1:00:43
SPEAKER_02: What do you think?
1:00:46
SPEAKER_02: Bentley's tough, man.
1:00:47
SPEAKER_03: Bentley's team.
1:00:50
SPEAKER_03: They I I I I have to give the nod to St.
1:00:54
SPEAKER_03: A's on this one.
1:00:55
SPEAKER_02: Bentley sits at 3-2 right now.
1:00:58
SPEAKER_02: And St.
1:00:59
SPEAKER_02: A's.
1:01:01
SPEAKER_02: I think they're 4-0.
1:01:03
SPEAKER_02: After tonight.
1:01:04
SPEAKER_02: They're 4-0.
1:01:05
SPEAKER_02: They beat Mercy, so they're 4-0.
1:01:07
SPEAKER_02: I like St.
1:01:08
SPEAKER_02: A's at home.
1:01:09
SPEAKER_02: Bentley's they're gonna have they're gonna have a hard time.
1:01:12
SPEAKER_03: St.
1:01:12
SPEAKER_03: A's is 4-0, and I agree with you.
1:01:16
SPEAKER_03: I think Bentley always plays St.
1:01:21
SPEAKER_03: A's tough.
1:01:22
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:01:23
SPEAKER_02: I just see them.
1:01:25
SPEAKER_02: Play really well against St.
1:01:26
SPEAKER_02: A's, you know, in the past.
1:01:27
SPEAKER_02: I mean, Bentley's a good team.
1:01:29
SPEAKER_02: You never know what you're gonna get out of them either.
1:01:32
SPEAKER_03: I I just go back to everything we've seen and predicted, because I think we were kind of right in our conference preview.
1:01:39
SPEAKER_03: Saint A's is the team that can really give a Delphi a tough shot.
1:01:44
SPEAKER_03: I think they're gonna win this one at home.
1:01:46
SPEAKER_03: Now, with that said, we've seen this in the NE10 before.
1:01:49
SPEAKER_03: These teams know each other really well.
1:01:51
SPEAKER_03: Bentley can come out and play and beat them.
1:01:55
SPEAKER_03: Without a doubt, but like I give the nod to Saint A's.
1:01:58
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, me too.
1:02:00
SPEAKER_02: Now it's time for the players of spotlight.
1:03:06
SPEAKER_03: As the song says, Danny, time for the player spotlight.
1:03:11
SPEAKER_02: My favorite part, Kev.
1:03:12
SPEAKER_02: My favorite part.
1:03:14
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and this one was a long time coming.
1:03:18
SPEAKER_03: This is the player we were supposed to have on and had to push because of our week of mayhem, you know, like my travel woes, your internet problems.
1:03:27
SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
1:03:28
SPEAKER_03: So luckily he was very patient and kind with us when we said, Hey, uh, you can't come on this week, and we'll get back to you.
1:03:39
SPEAKER_02: He was probably disappointed.
1:03:41
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
1:03:41
SPEAKER_03: Well, no, maybe he's like, maybe he was like, Thank God, they pushed me off.
1:03:45
SPEAKER_03: I I he was uh he was very polite, you know, and and I said, Don't call us, we'll call you.
1:03:51
SPEAKER_03: And uh, and so he listened to us, actually.
1:03:53
SPEAKER_03: And what was funny, Danny, when we were gonna have him on, I was actually recording from his hometown of Dakula, Georgia.
1:04:04
SPEAKER_03: Dakula?
1:04:05
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
1:04:07
SPEAKER_03: So we'll get into that.
1:04:08
SPEAKER_03: We'll talk about that a little bit.
1:04:09
SPEAKER_03: That's not why we're bringing him on, just because I was in Dacula, Georgia.
1:04:12
SPEAKER_03: I was visiting my mom, who was not doing well at the time.
1:04:15
SPEAKER_03: It's really because of his play this year, which has been phenomenal.
1:04:18
SPEAKER_03: With eight games under his belt, Danny, he already has tallied 25 ground balls and 33 cause turnovers.
1:04:28
SPEAKER_02: It's ridiculous.
1:04:29
SPEAKER_03: Number one in cause turnovers per game in Division II.
1:04:35
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, in the in the United States of America.
1:04:38
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like it's like us, the number one D2 men's lacrosse podcast in the United States.
1:04:43
SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you, man, you know, if I was to be a defender, because you know I'd be a MIDI.
1:04:47
SPEAKER_02: You know that.
1:04:48
SPEAKER_02: I tell you that all the time.
1:04:49
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:04:49
SPEAKER_02: But if I were to be a defender, I would pride myself on causing turnovers.
1:04:54
SPEAKER_02: I think that's such a great part of the game.
1:04:56
SPEAKER_02: And this young man is just killing it.
1:04:59
SPEAKER_02: And he killed it last year, too.
1:05:01
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:05:01
SPEAKER_02: And he's in the sack.
1:05:03
SPEAKER_02: He's in the tough.
1:05:04
SPEAKER_03: Hello.
1:05:05
SPEAKER_03: This kid, let's get him on.
1:05:07
SPEAKER_03: Yes, bring him on.
1:05:08
SPEAKER_03: Cougar Cobra's LSM, senior LSM, Lennon Colony.
1:05:13
SPEAKER_03: Hey, Lennon, how are you?
1:05:14
SPEAKER_00: I'm doing good.
1:05:15
SPEAKER_00: How are you?
1:05:17
SPEAKER_02: Mr.
1:05:17
SPEAKER_02: Conley, the Irishman, right after St.
1:05:20
SPEAKER_02: Pat's.
1:05:20
SPEAKER_02: Here we go.
1:05:21
SPEAKER_02: How are you doing, my friend?
1:05:22
SPEAKER_02: How's it going?
1:05:24
SPEAKER_00: I'm doing great.
1:05:25
SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys for having me on.
1:05:27
SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
1:05:27
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
1:05:28
SPEAKER_03: Well, first, congrats on a great season so far.
1:05:32
SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you, so I was in Dekula because my family lives there.
1:05:35
SPEAKER_03: When I saw that you actually lived there, I was like, wow, you know, there have been some great lacrosse players come out of your high school.
1:05:42
SPEAKER_03: Mill Creek.
1:05:44
SPEAKER_03: Willie Greco.
1:05:46
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's a phenomenal player.
1:05:48
SPEAKER_03: You.
1:05:49
SPEAKER_03: What was it like to play lacrosse in Georgia and at Mill Creek?
1:05:54
SPEAKER_00: It was a great experience, honestly.
1:05:56
SPEAKER_00: Um, like coming in my freshman year, we just um Got like a new coach.
1:06:01
SPEAKER_00: His name is um Coach Tallman.
1:06:03
SPEAKER_00: And he he knows so much about lacrosse, it's crazy.
1:06:07
SPEAKER_00: And then um also we had a a very good uh defensive coach, Coach Duffy as well, and they just tell me out so much, and it was great.
1:06:17
SPEAKER_02: Wow, and you know what?
1:06:18
SPEAKER_02: Georgia's not really known for its lacrosse, but they're really growing high school lacrosse down there.
1:06:24
SPEAKER_02: What was your high school lacrosse experience like in Georgia?
1:06:28
SPEAKER_00: Uh honestly, it was really competitive.
1:06:30
SPEAKER_00: Um like I feel like the sport inside of Georgia is growing crazy, and um even in like the summer as well, we're just keep getting like more better and better talent, more opportunities, and it was it's a lot of fun, honestly.
1:06:48
SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
1:06:49
SPEAKER_03: So when did you start playing lacrosse?
1:06:52
SPEAKER_00: Uh I started playing lacrosse in third grade.
1:06:55
SPEAKER_00: Oh fairly early.
1:06:58
SPEAKER_03: All right.
1:06:58
SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah.
1:07:00
SPEAKER_00: Now you put the did they put the pole in your hand right away, or did it uh I used to be um offense, and then uh I got hit with one too many checks, so I was like, all right, I'm gonna I'm gonna be the one to do the hitting instead.
1:07:13
SPEAKER_03: You're gonna lay some lumber yourself, huh?
1:07:15
unknown: Yeah, yeah.
1:07:16
SPEAKER_02: That's great.
1:07:17
SPEAKER_02: That's great.
1:07:19
SPEAKER_02: That's a good idea, man.
1:07:20
SPEAKER_02: I think that's smart.
1:07:22
SPEAKER_02: So how old were you when you made that transition to the defensive side?
1:07:26
SPEAKER_00: Um, it was in seventh grade.
1:07:28
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
1:07:29
SPEAKER_02: Starting to get a little bigger, a little stronger, a little faster.
1:07:32
SPEAKER_02: And did you like the transition at first?
1:07:35
SPEAKER_00: Or oh yeah.
1:07:36
SPEAKER_00: I I loved it.
1:07:37
SPEAKER_00: Because also just let me get on the field more, and it just I just love just playing and doing anything really.
1:07:44
SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
1:07:46
SPEAKER_03: What was your recruiting journey like and how did you get to Coker in D2?
1:07:52
SPEAKER_00: So um we used to have a previous coach named um Coach Snow.
1:07:57
SPEAKER_00: And um, Coach Snow and Coach Ambrose used to um like coach a ton in like the Georgia area.
1:08:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:08:05
SPEAKER_00: So I used to go against them all the time in summer, and that's basically how I got familiar with them.
1:08:10
SPEAKER_03: Were they like, oh crap, we gotta get this kid because he's killing us.
1:08:15
SPEAKER_02: This kid is like, we gotta get him on our squad, right?
1:08:19
SPEAKER_02: He's just beating the shit out of us all summer long.
1:08:22
SPEAKER_02: So that's how it went, huh?
1:08:24
SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
1:08:25
SPEAKER_00: And they're um, they're great people to me.
1:08:28
SPEAKER_00: And I I just I love the um Coach Ambrose, and he just helps out like so much.
1:08:33
SPEAKER_03: So then you were recruited by Coach Snow.
1:08:35
SPEAKER_03: We've had both coaches on the podcast before, both Snow and so you were you recruited by him or Ambrose or or both?
1:08:42
SPEAKER_03: How'd that work?
1:08:42
SPEAKER_00: It was kind of a mix of both, but um I feel like I was heavily recruited by um Coach Ambrose because at the time he was um our defensive coordinator.
1:08:52
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, right.
1:08:53
SPEAKER_00: So he was like settling all like the defensive stuff.
1:08:57
SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
1:08:58
SPEAKER_03: So was that your the main school like they they recruited you so hard you're like, geez, I can't even look at another school.
1:09:04
SPEAKER_03: I gotta go right to Coker.
1:09:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I feel like I had one of those moments when like you get on campus and you just note like the right school.
1:09:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:09:13
SPEAKER_00: And we had like a prospect day, and when that happened, I was like, I have to come here.
1:09:18
SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's awesome, man.
1:09:19
SPEAKER_02: It's just it seems like a you know, a dream come true.
1:09:22
SPEAKER_02: Just it kind of worked out your way.
1:09:25
SPEAKER_02: That's great.
1:09:26
SPEAKER_02: So now you're at Coker.
1:09:28
SPEAKER_02: Now now you get to Coker and you're in the sack, you're in division two.
1:09:32
SPEAKER_02: What were your first thoughts and your first experiences when you first got on the field for the Covers?
1:09:39
SPEAKER_00: I was like, wow.
1:09:43
SPEAKER_02: Well and wow, in what way?
1:09:45
SPEAKER_00: Size, speed, or um, it was I feel like both, honestly.
1:09:50
SPEAKER_00: Because um, like coming in my freshman year, I was like really skinny, and um, I was like, these guys are huge.
1:09:58
SPEAKER_00: And like honestly, like I felt like it made it like pushed me even more to be like, wow, I need to up my game to their level, and just trying to like make it so I like I was able to um like find my place really.
1:10:12
SPEAKER_02: That's great.
1:10:13
SPEAKER_02: And and and did they help you develop your defensive skills while you were there and show you all different kinds of stuff and teach you things that maybe you didn't know in high school?
1:10:24
SPEAKER_00: For sure.
1:10:25
SPEAKER_00: Like that first um fall, like my freshman year, especially, like Coach Ambrose just broke down like every little thing, and that helped so much.
1:10:34
SPEAKER_00: I used to come in for like film all the time, um, and just making sure like I got the little things like right, and just and it just those little things just kept stacking and stacking, and it just helped me like find my like way on the field.
1:10:48
SPEAKER_03: So now you're yeah, now that that's awesome.
1:10:51
SPEAKER_03: That's it.
1:10:52
SPEAKER_03: Great to hear because a lot of players, I would think, when they're coming into college, feel like they've got to be at that at the level, and yet really I think it's a chance to just get to that next level.
1:11:04
SPEAKER_03: No one coming into college, like you you hit the nail on the head.
1:11:07
SPEAKER_03: I saw my son do it, Danny's seen his kids do it when they go in their freshman year.
1:11:12
SPEAKER_03: They are no longer the best player on the field they were when they were on their team, usually, right?
1:11:18
SPEAKER_03: And so you come in there and it it's a it's a development phase you've got to go through, correct?
1:11:24
SPEAKER_00: For sure.
1:11:25
SPEAKER_00: And I feel like especially when you get to um like the next level, you like the first thing is like, oh, I have to fix this, this, this, this, this.
1:11:34
SPEAKER_00: And just you have to like focus on just one thing at a time, because those one things you have to get like a good foundation first.
1:11:42
SPEAKER_00: Right.
1:11:42
SPEAKER_00: That makes total sense.
1:11:43
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like building blocks, start at A, get A down, and then we'll move on to B.
1:11:48
SPEAKER_02: And you know what?
1:11:49
SPEAKER_02: It's helped you so much.
1:11:50
SPEAKER_02: I mean, you've been just a phenomenal player.
1:11:52
SPEAKER_02: Now let's talk about the conference.
1:11:55
SPEAKER_02: Okay, now now you've you're in division two.
1:11:57
SPEAKER_02: You're saying, wow, look at the size of these guys, look at the speed of this guy.
1:12:01
SPEAKER_02: I have to up my game, and then you play squads like limestone, wingate, Lemon Ryan, you know, like I can go on, Newberry now, Anderson.
1:12:17
SPEAKER_02: These squads are like top 10, top 15 squads.
1:12:20
SPEAKER_02: What goes through your mind when you meet a squad like that for the first time?
1:12:27
SPEAKER_00: So uh it's actually funny you say that.
1:12:29
SPEAKER_00: So my freshman year, I started out as um a backup LSM because our starter was amazing.
1:12:36
SPEAKER_00: So um I basically came into coach's office like the week before we versed Anderson, and I was like, so like how can I get on the field more?
1:12:44
SPEAKER_00: And he gave me a short stick.
1:12:45
SPEAKER_00: It was like my first ever time playing D mid, all this stuff.
1:12:49
SPEAKER_00: And then coming in on that Saturday, I was able to um like become a starter as a D mid.
1:12:54
SPEAKER_00: And it was the first ever time playing against the sack opponent, and I was playing D mid.
1:13:01
SPEAKER_02: Against Anderson.
1:13:02
SPEAKER_00: Against Anderson.
1:13:03
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I thought it was amazing like a great game.
1:13:06
SPEAKER_00: And I feel like versing these teams in the sack is kind of like a blessing, like in disguise, because I feel like the better competition you verse, the more competitive, the more like fun, the more like everything, like the intensity is the highest.
1:13:20
SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's even better.
1:13:22
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's an old saying, high tides raise all boats, right, Kev?
1:13:27
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:13:27
SPEAKER_02: So you know, and and that's true.
1:13:29
SPEAKER_02: You know, you play teams like that, you just you you know, you're like, wow, I gotta be like those guys.
1:13:34
SPEAKER_02: We want to be like them, and this is what they're doing.
1:13:36
SPEAKER_02: Let's try to do that.
1:13:38
SPEAKER_02: And you know, it definitely helps your game.
1:13:40
SPEAKER_02: I, you know, I loved playing the big boys.
1:13:43
SPEAKER_02: I was a football coach, and like I loved playing the bigger teams, the better teams.
1:13:48
SPEAKER_02: It was just, I just felt that it was a uh I guess a standard to look up to and to see where my team was and my play and stuff when I played like that.
1:13:58
SPEAKER_02: So I think that's great.
1:14:00
SPEAKER_02: And so now you've in division two.
1:14:02
SPEAKER_02: Now you're in the sack, and now not only are you in the sack, but you're leading the country and cause turnovers, young man.
1:14:11
SPEAKER_02: Like your game is just every year has just elevated and elevated and elevated to the point where you're one of the top LSMs in the country.
1:14:21
SPEAKER_02: How does that make you feel?
1:14:23
SPEAKER_02: Uh he's got a big smile on his face, folks.
1:14:27
SPEAKER_03: He's like, how how can I say what I want to say and still be humble?
1:14:30
SPEAKER_03: You're doing a very good job of it, by the way.
1:14:33
SPEAKER_00: No, um, and all honesty, it doesn't really like feel like real, if I'm being honest.
1:14:38
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:14:39
SPEAKER_00: Because um, like one of my teammates, his name's um like Michael Jensen.
1:14:44
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right, and he's an amazing player, and like seeing him play with me too, I feel like it's kind of getting to a point where it's like we're like fighting each other to like like because I whenever I see Red play, I'm like, wow, I need to do a play like that, and then it's just like build and build.
1:15:03
SPEAKER_00: And like, yeah.
1:15:05
SPEAKER_03: So even within your own team, you you have a player that you model yourself after, you compete against, and you want to get it's almost like competition within that, a friendly competition for you to keep on up in your game.
1:15:18
SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
1:15:20
SPEAKER_03: I I'll tell you what, Danny and I have always said that Coker is a really scrappy team.
1:15:26
SPEAKER_03: You cannot count them out, do not count them as a W, even if you're a Lenore Ryan or you're an Anderson, you cannot do that.
1:15:34
SPEAKER_03: You we've seen Coker play for years, and they've always been good.
1:15:38
SPEAKER_03: Your team sits at 6-2 right now, two and one in conference, and you're coming up to some big games.
1:15:45
SPEAKER_03: Newberry, Anderson, actually, Newberry will be by the time this goes live, you will already have played them.
1:15:51
SPEAKER_03: How does you how do you and your team feel now that you are into the middle of that sack play and going up against teams like this?
1:15:59
SPEAKER_00: I think it'll be a great test.
1:16:01
SPEAKER_00: Because um, I mean, Newberry and Anderson are top eight right now, I'm I'm pretty sure.
1:16:07
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and yep.
1:16:09
SPEAKER_00: I mean, they're amazing teams.
1:16:12
SPEAKER_00: So I think um even if it doesn't go our way, I think learning all like from the experiences and like our mistakes is just gonna help us build even more.
1:16:22
SPEAKER_00: Where when we start playing other teams later on as well, it's just gonna keep us growing and get better and better.
1:16:28
SPEAKER_02: Couldn't have said it better myself, young man.
1:16:31
SPEAKER_02: That was excellent.
1:16:32
SPEAKER_02: That was excellent.
1:16:33
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I just love watching you play.
1:16:35
SPEAKER_02: I've seen you play a couple of times already this uh this year.
1:16:39
SPEAKER_02: And uh I said to Kevin in the beginning of the season when we do our conference previews, I said, watch out for Coker, man.
1:16:46
SPEAKER_02: They put a lot of guys, new guys on their roster.
1:16:48
SPEAKER_02: They added you know, guys to their roster, they're a lot deeper now, and they've always been scrappy.
1:16:55
SPEAKER_02: Now you add some depth to the team, and then guys like you just doing your thing, and now you like like Kevin said, you said it's six and two.
1:17:02
SPEAKER_02: That's pretty darn good, young man.
1:17:06
SPEAKER_02: What do you attribute the the great start to?
1:17:10
SPEAKER_00: Um, I think it's a really good confidence builder.
1:17:14
SPEAKER_00: Like um, having our first game go to triple overtime, and then being able to get that win, I feel like it just got the guys going.
1:17:22
SPEAKER_00: And like I feel like let's say like we didn't win that game, I think our season goes completely different than what it is now.
1:17:29
SPEAKER_00: And I'm just thankful that like we're just we're we're just keep on rolling.
1:17:35
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just keep chipping away at that stone, man.
1:17:37
SPEAKER_02: Just you know, just keep knocking blocks off left and right.
1:17:41
SPEAKER_02: So let's get off lacrosse, let's talk about school.
1:17:43
SPEAKER_02: You're a senior, getting ready to graduate soon, right?
1:17:47
SPEAKER_02: How's that?
1:17:48
SPEAKER_02: How's that?
1:17:49
SPEAKER_02: Can you believe how fast it's gone by?
1:17:52
SPEAKER_00: No, not at all, honestly.
1:17:56
SPEAKER_02: I know.
1:17:56
SPEAKER_02: So what what what do you study?
1:17:58
SPEAKER_02: What's your major?
1:18:00
SPEAKER_00: Um, my major is exercise science.
1:18:03
SPEAKER_00: So I'm trying to um become like an athletic trainer.
1:18:07
SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
1:18:08
SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
1:18:08
SPEAKER_02: That's great.
1:18:09
SPEAKER_02: Have you done any internships or anything like that?
1:18:13
SPEAKER_00: I was uh um intern in the fall, and my goal, like my dream is to become like an athletic trainer for like an NFL team.
1:18:22
SPEAKER_02: Okay, all right.
1:18:24
SPEAKER_02: So tell us about the internship.
1:18:26
SPEAKER_02: What was it like?
1:18:27
SPEAKER_02: What'd you what the have did have you doing?
1:18:29
SPEAKER_00: Oh, it was amazing.
1:18:31
SPEAKER_00: I did like so much more stuff than I thought I was gonna do, and um all like the trainers I was working with were like super helpful.
1:18:38
SPEAKER_00: I was um like I saw someone's stitches get out once because like they got hit in the head with like a uh like a field hockey stick.
1:18:46
SPEAKER_00: Okay, and then um what else?
1:18:49
SPEAKER_00: I like um just basically helped them do a bunch of maintenance, did a bunch of um taping, and I I saw some like pretty brutal injuries like during games.
1:19:01
SPEAKER_02: Like what kind?
1:19:02
SPEAKER_02: Let's name one.
1:19:03
SPEAKER_02: What's what was the brutalist, the most brutal?
1:19:07
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I saw one guy get his shoulder popped out, I think it was like two or three times in the same game.
1:19:14
SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, man.
1:19:16
SPEAKER_00: And then I saw like a couple like porn ACLs.
1:19:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:19:20
SPEAKER_00: And like that kind of that sort of nature.
1:19:23
SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
1:19:24
SPEAKER_02: So you'll you enjoy that kind of work, so that's what you want to do.
1:19:27
SPEAKER_02: And the dream is to be in the NFL trainer going on the side.
1:19:31
SPEAKER_02: If you could do that, you'd be out there all the time because those guys get banged up pretty bad.
1:19:36
SPEAKER_03: So talk about some gruesome injuries, but uh anyway.
1:19:41
SPEAKER_03: I think, Danny.
1:19:43
SPEAKER_03: Now that he's warmed up, I think he's ready to go for the fine round.
1:19:49
SPEAKER_02: Is he ready for the fire round?
1:19:51
SPEAKER_02: We're gonna find out.
1:19:52
SPEAKER_02: He's laughing, everybody.
1:19:54
SPEAKER_02: All right, Lennon Connolly is in the fire round, the senior LSM for the Coca-Cobers out of Dakool, Georgia, and the famous Mill Creek High School leading the country with 33 cost turnovers, and he's got a bunch of ground balls to add to that.
1:20:10
SPEAKER_02: So, Lennon, we're gonna throw you a couple of questions.
1:20:13
SPEAKER_02: Just answer the best you can.
1:20:15
SPEAKER_02: Number one, mom's best meal.
1:20:19
SPEAKER_00: Oh.
1:20:22
SPEAKER_00: Spaghetti?
1:20:22
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:20:23
SPEAKER_02: All right.
1:20:23
SPEAKER_02: Does she throw some meatballs in there?
1:20:25
SPEAKER_02: Does she make her own sauce?
1:20:27
SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know what my mom does, honestly, but whatever she does, it's amazing.
1:20:32
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
1:20:33
SPEAKER_02: Little little garlic bread on the side, maybe.
1:20:36
SPEAKER_00: Oh, have to.
1:20:36
SPEAKER_00: You got to.
1:20:37
SPEAKER_02: There you go.
1:20:38
SPEAKER_02: Question two, Xbox or PlayStation?
1:20:41
SPEAKER_00: Xbox.
1:20:42
SPEAKER_02: What's your game?
1:20:42
SPEAKER_02: What's your game that you're doing right now?
1:20:45
SPEAKER_00: Uh Rocket League.
1:20:46
SPEAKER_02: Okay, here we go.
1:20:48
SPEAKER_02: Number three, favorite type of music?
1:20:51
SPEAKER_00: Oh, um, probably rock.
1:20:54
SPEAKER_02: Rock, like in what give me an example.
1:20:58
SPEAKER_02: Like ECDC rock, like 70s kind of stuff, or yeah, probably.
1:21:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:21:04
SPEAKER_00: And I also like um drawing a blank right now.
1:21:10
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, kind of back to the thing, yeah.
1:21:12
SPEAKER_02: All right, cool.
1:21:13
SPEAKER_02: If you're at karaoke and all the chicks are hanging out, what's your go-to karaoke song?
1:21:18
SPEAKER_00: Um, I did heartache medication not too long ago with one of my friends at one of the biggest.
1:21:23
SPEAKER_02: All right, there we go.
1:21:24
SPEAKER_02: Do you have question four?
1:21:26
SPEAKER_02: Do you have any pregame rituals like where some old sting?
1:21:30
SPEAKER_02: Oh, he does.
1:21:31
SPEAKER_02: Okay, let's hear it.
1:21:32
SPEAKER_02: Not in his head.
1:21:33
SPEAKER_00: Um I basically I sit down and I just play chess and just like try to focus and just like play like chess puzzles.
1:21:41
SPEAKER_02: Really?
1:21:42
SPEAKER_02: Wow.
1:21:42
SPEAKER_02: That's an interesting, very unique.
1:21:46
SPEAKER_02: That's an interesting approach to gotta work.
1:21:48
SPEAKER_03: He's got 33 costures.
1:21:51
SPEAKER_02: It's working.
1:21:52
SPEAKER_02: It's working.
1:21:52
SPEAKER_02: So do you have any superstitions like I I can't wear that underwear, or I'm not gonna wear those socks, or any superstitions like that?
1:22:02
SPEAKER_02: Um, gotta do this on game day, I gotta do that, or actually kind of yeah.
1:22:08
SPEAKER_00: So I sit down and then like 10 minutes before I go out, I listen to the same three songs, but I can never listen to the whole song.
1:22:16
SPEAKER_00: I have to like stomp it at like a certain point, and I go to the next one.
1:22:20
SPEAKER_02: All right, Lennon.
1:22:21
SPEAKER_02: That's a little OCD, but we'll get back to that later.
1:22:26
SPEAKER_02: Number six, morning bird or night owl?
1:22:30
SPEAKER_00: Night owl.
1:22:31
SPEAKER_02: Night owl.
1:22:32
SPEAKER_02: What's your go-to midnight snack?
1:22:35
SPEAKER_00: Taco Bell, probably.
1:22:39
SPEAKER_02: Don't let coach hear that.
1:22:41
SPEAKER_02: You're supposed to eat nutritious.
1:22:43
SPEAKER_02: You need nutritious.
1:22:45
SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't want to point this out, but that was probably my midnight snack when I started in the Navy and going through flight school was Taco Bell, too.
1:22:51
SPEAKER_03: We won't go into those days.
1:22:54
SPEAKER_02: All right.
1:22:54
SPEAKER_02: Um staying on the food tip.
1:22:57
SPEAKER_02: What's your favorite breakfast?
1:23:00
SPEAKER_02: It's the most important meal now, Lennon.
1:23:02
SPEAKER_02: You know that it's the most important.
1:23:04

SPEAKER_02: Mikey Patera, why is he so funny?
1:23:53
SPEAKER_02: What makes him funny?
1:23:55
SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like he can turn any situation into like something funny.
1:23:59
unknown: Alright.
1:24:01
SPEAKER_00: Even like the guys are down, like he knows how to make it to like lighten up the mood and like get people, you know, like less less down on themselves.
1:24:08
SPEAKER_02: All right.
1:24:09
SPEAKER_02: Mikey gets a shout-out, okay.
1:24:11
SPEAKER_02: Which teammate would be voted best ladies man?
1:24:16
SPEAKER_00: James Brands, probably.
1:24:18
SPEAKER_02: James who?
1:24:19
SPEAKER_00: James Brands.
1:24:20
SPEAKER_00: He's our starting defenseman.
1:24:23
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
1:24:24
SPEAKER_02: He's the ladies man, huh?
1:24:26
SPEAKER_02: Which teammate?
1:24:28
SPEAKER_02: He's laughing.
1:24:29
SPEAKER_02: Which teammate would be voted most athletic if you had to vote?
1:24:36
SPEAKER_02: And you can vote for yourself if you want.
1:24:39
SPEAKER_00: Oh, no, no, no.
1:24:42
SPEAKER_00: Um, can I name three?
1:24:45
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sure.
1:24:46

1:24:50
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:24:50
SPEAKER_00: Um Marcus Townsend really is really athletic.
1:24:56
SPEAKER_00: And if we're going by like weight, I feel like Kenny Bell can really move some like weightlifting.
1:25:03
SPEAKER_00: You can lose you can move some weight for sure.
1:25:06
SPEAKER_02: Good job shouting out your teammates, man.

1:25:32
SPEAKER_00: And it was it's honestly really fun.
1:25:34
SPEAKER_00: Okay, cool.
1:25:35
SPEAKER_02: Give us an impression of coach after a good practice.
1:25:42
SPEAKER_00: I would say he likes to keep us humble where um there's like a thing where um if Coach Ambrose like hypes us up too much, we get like too full of himself, too full of ourselves.
1:25:54
SPEAKER_00: Right.
1:25:54
SPEAKER_00: So we um so like the next practice we play so bad.
1:25:58
SPEAKER_00: So it's honestly a good thing that like he like obviously mentions like the good things, but he makes sure not to like boast us too much to where we think we know everything, and I got and kind of just make sure like we're at like a level head.
1:26:15
SPEAKER_02: Well, Lennon, that was a great job in the firing line tonight.
1:26:19

1:27:38
SPEAKER_02: But that's that's him, and that's what makes him him, and that's all good.
1:27:41
SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's having a great year.
1:27:43
SPEAKER_02: He's having a great career, actually.
1:27:45
SPEAKER_02: His career there has been phenomenal, and yeah, he was a really fun guest tonight.
1:27:50
SPEAKER_02: He was laughing, he had a smile on his face the whole time.
1:27:53

1:27:59
SPEAKER_02: Um can tell he's very bright.
1:28:01
SPEAKER_02: He's gonna do very well for himself.
1:28:02
SPEAKER_02: Whatever he decides to do, whether it be training, athletic training, or in the medical field, I think whatever he decides to do, he's gonna do just fine.
1:28:11
SPEAKER_02: And boy, he can play, he can play lacrosse.
1:28:14
SPEAKER_02: And if you're an offensive player and you've got to go against him, you better buckle up because you're gonna go home with bruises and cuts and scrapes because he's gonna beat you beat the snot out of you.
1:28:26
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I agree.
1:28:27
SPEAKER_02: And take your balls and go home.
