- 0:34Little Miss Chatterbox talked more than a lot.
- 0:39She talked all the time, day in and out, week after week, month after month,
- 0:48and year in and out. She never stopped.
- 0:51She didn't know it.
- 0:55But she even talked in her sleep. She had a brother.
- 1:01Miss... I bet you can guess what his name was.
- 1:07Cozoo, that's right. Mr. Chatterbox.
- 1:11You should have heard them when they got together.
- 1:16You couldn't get a word in edgeways Or sideways or anyways Have you ever heard
- 1:27about somebody being able to talk The hind leg of a donkey Well, Mr Chatterbox,
- 1:36could tuck both hind legs off a donkey.
- 1:43And his sister could tuck behind the leg of an elephant.
- 1:51Now, this story is about the little Miss Chatterbox decided to get herself a
- 2:00job, which she did, in a bank in Happy Land.
- 2:06At ten o'clock Monday morning, Mr Happy strolled into the Happy Land,
- 2:14Happy to Lend you bank, in the middle of Happy Town.
- 2:20He took his cheque book, wrote a cheque and went to the counter behind the counter.
- 2:27On the first morning, at work, stood Little Miss Chatterbox.
- 2:33She smiled at Mr. Happy. Mr. Happy smiled back.
- 2:38Good morning, he said cheerfully. Well, said Little Miss Chatterbox, taking a deep breath.
- 2:46For the time of a year, it's a good morning, but not as good as the morning we had yesterday.
- 2:54And I dare we say tomorrow morning will be an even better morning.
- 2:59But it's quite a good morning for Monday morning.
- 3:03And she went on and on until it was time for the bank to shut.
- 3:12Miss Daffy was still standing there.
- 3:15With his mouth open in amazement, he'd been there for hours.
- 3:21And now, continued Little Miss, Little Miss Chatterbox, it's time for the bank
- 3:28to shut in, time for me to go home, so goodbye and nice talking to you.
- 3:35And she went home, leaving poor, Mr. Happy, without any money.
- 3:43The following morning, she was fired.
- 3:49She got herself another job in a restaurant that eats a lot.
- 3:54It was Tuesday morning, and that midday, Mr.
- 3:59Greedy walked into the restaurant and sat himself down at his usual corner table.
- 4:06He always ate there on Tuesdays, because that was the day they served extra large portions.
- 4:19Well, said Little Miss Chatterbox, for she was a waitress.
- 4:27The soup of the day is tomato
- 4:31But we also have other soups And the
- 4:34menus such as oxtail and vegetable and
- 4:37chicken noodle But we have lots of other things to start with such as And she
- 4:43went on and on Until midnight Mr Greedy was still sitting there Listening in
- 4:50a mason He'd been there for 12 hours Listening And now,
- 4:57continued little Miss Chatterbox.
- 5:02Time for the eat-off restaurant to shut and for me to go home.
- 5:09So, goodbye and nice talking to you. And she went home, leaving the poor Mr.
- 5:17Greedy feeling rather empty.
- 5:20The next morning, she was fired.
- 5:24The same thing happened all week long. On Thursday morning, she was fired from
- 5:31her job assistant at this hat shop. Mrs.
- 5:35Splendid went into the shop to buy herself a new hat.
- 5:44But she couldn't. Oh, madam, I've just got the, I've just the,
- 5:50I've just the hat for you and I, and I know you're going to love it because it's pink and,
- 5:59and your colour and it,
- 6:02it was all, it was all tall and no hat.
- 6:07Friday morning she was fired from her job as a secret secretary to Mr Upty Mr
- 6:16Upty incidentally was the richest man in the world.
- 6:25I just thought you'd like to know but poor Mr Upty didn't make any money that
- 6:32the day that little Miss Chatterbox was working for him. Oh no!
- 6:38Oh Mr Uptie, I've never worked in an office before and isn't exciting.
- 6:44And isn't it exciting and would you like a cup of coffee and are you as rich
- 6:53as everybody says and you are...
- 6:57And it was all talk and no work.
- 7:02But the story has a happy ending because at the very end of that week,
- 7:11little Miss Chatterbox managed to find herself a jar that suited her down to
- 7:18the ground and up to the sky.
- 7:21That Saturday evening, Mr Chatterbox was at home in the Chatterbox cottage,
- 7:28which was where he lived.
- 7:31Mr Chatterbox was cross because his watch had stopped and he had arranged to
- 7:39meet Little Miss Sunshine at 7 o'clock and he had no idea what time it was.
- 7:44So he decided to the telephone speaking clock to find out what time it was.
- 7:57He dialed the number.
- 8:00Third stroke, it would be 6.25 and 15 seconds. Little Miss Chatterbox took a deep breath.
- 8:11Pip, pip, pip, pip.
- 8:14And as the third trope, it will be 6.25 and 20 seconds. Pip, pip, pip.
- 8:22That's funny, thought Mr Chatterbox to himself.
- 8:27That just sounds like my sister.
- 8:31The end. Thank you for listening and do not forget to subscribe,
- 8:37like and share this episode and to get me more followers than I could ever think of.
