- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a little wonky. It's a little wonky.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Do we get into the wonkiness or just if you.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Want to walk, walk because I don't understand what the
- 0:22Speaker 3: Pride tried.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Cixty million dollars is a lot of money.
- 0:25Speaker 5: Okay, let me try to explain it to you.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, I don't understand it either, And.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's Bill Handle, and.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Good morning everybody.
- 0:44Speaker 2: We're into August August three. It is a Monday, yep,
- 0:50Speaker 2: but another week. Who starts and we're on our way
- 0:54Speaker 2: till the end of the year, and then right after
- 0:57Speaker 2: that we start another year, and that at some point
- 1:01Speaker 2: we were retired and die. A couple of things are
- 1:03Speaker 2: going on. First fall, let me say hello, Hello, Heather
- 1:07Speaker 2: is here instead of Amy?
- 1:11Speaker 4: Good morning?
- 1:11Speaker 5: Good morning? Is Amy coming back tomorrow?
- 1:13Speaker 4: Tomorrow?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah? Okay, See, I love it when you just take
- 1:17Speaker 2: a day off. I try to do that as often
- 1:19Speaker 2: as I possibly can.
- 1:21Speaker 6: You're going to be gone most of the third quarter.
- 1:23Speaker 5: Bro, I'm gonna be gone. Well, I haven't taken any
- 1:26Speaker 5: vacation this year.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And what I'm doing is I am canceling or I'm
- 1:32Speaker 2: putting all my vacation days basically in December. So I'm
- 1:36Speaker 2: going to be gone a good part of December, you
- 1:39Speaker 2: know when I start, Yeah, well part of his September.
- 1:42Speaker 2: But when I first, well, first let me say hello
- 1:44Speaker 2: and I'll tell you a quick story, Neil. There you go, Hello,
- 1:48Speaker 2: all right, and there is cono gooding and and good
- 1:54Speaker 2: morning Bill, and then Will with his Costco shirt there yo, Bill, Yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 2: is that cost go by the way, Yes it is, Oh,
- 2:01Speaker 2: yes it is.
- 2:04Speaker 4: It's very Hawaiian looking.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, it's one of the smaller islands because it's
- 2:09Speaker 5: so cheap. And I'm wearing oh you know, this is
- 2:13Speaker 5: a shirt my Lindsay has gotten me.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So I'm you know, it's driving me nuts because my
- 2:17Speaker 2: Costco shirts are disappearing as I speak.
- 2:20Speaker 5: They're melting like the wicked Witch of the West. Yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Actually I've had some of those shirts for twenty
- 2:27Speaker 2: five years and they're disappearing and being replaced by shirts
- 2:34Speaker 2: that cost certainly more than fifteen dollars. Absolutely all right,
- 2:39Speaker 2: So Will is there oh vacation days? That's right, Okay,
- 2:44Speaker 2: According to when I signed one of my contracts years ago.
- 2:49Speaker 2: The contract was straight out I could only take vacations
- 2:54Speaker 2: one week at a time, because that evens out listenership
- 2:59Speaker 2: and advertise, etc. You want to make the least impact
- 3:02Speaker 2: possible because whenever anybody on the show takes off a
- 3:06Speaker 2: good amount of time, things change one week and not
- 3:09Speaker 2: so much. So they went ahead and produced the contract
- 3:14Speaker 2: says one week at a time, and there is no
- 3:17Speaker 2: chance I'm ever going to take just one week off.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So I signed it and I was asked, why did
- 3:25Speaker 2: you sign it? Well, let me tell you a story.
- 3:29Speaker 2: So I went in and to the program director and said,
- 3:33Speaker 2: at one point, by the way, I'm going to be gone.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I'll be gone for two and a half weeks. And
- 3:39Speaker 5: she said, but you.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Signed a contract that says one week only, and I said,
- 3:45Speaker 2: I certainly did no question about it. She said, but
- 3:50Speaker 2: you said you only getting be gone a week. That's correct.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I only said I'd be gone a week. But you're
- 3:58Speaker 2: breaching your contract. I certainly am, and I'll see you
- 4:01Speaker 2: in two and a half weeks. But so you're a liar, Yes,
- 4:06Speaker 2: completely hypocrite and a liar because I had no intention
- 4:10Speaker 2: of not taking two weeks at a time off.
- 4:13Speaker 7: There's just no way I want you to hear you
- 4:16Speaker 7: say that in front of the judge. I signed a
- 4:19Speaker 7: judge knowing exactly what I was doing, and I had
- 4:23Speaker 7: no intention.
- 4:24Speaker 5: That's correct.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And then the judge will say, I would love to
- 4:27Speaker 2: talk to you, but I'm leaving on my one week
- 4:30Speaker 2: three week vacation, so we'll see you when I come back.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:36Speaker 3: That's when you know you've got power at your job.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Is when you can tell management what you're going to
- 4:42Speaker 3: be doing. Yeah, you know they're not going to come
- 4:44Speaker 3: after you. You're the Bill Handle you are.
- 4:46Speaker 5: No, don't do that. It's any if anyone to be said,
- 4:50Speaker 5: what are they gonna do?
- 4:50Speaker 2: Are they gonna fire you realistically when you take two
- 4:53Speaker 2: weeks off?
- 4:53Speaker 4: Oh, they would fire me in a heartbeat.
- 4:55Speaker 5: No, they would probably. I don't think that's not true.
- 4:59Speaker 5: They would.
- 4:59Speaker 2: They would not and say they would not fire you.
- 5:04Speaker 4: You we are you are untouchable, Bill Handles.
- 5:06Speaker 6: I think you are.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 2: No, I'm telling you it's somebody and they back him anyway.
- 5:12Speaker 2: The point is, uh, for example, have you taken a
- 5:14Speaker 2: one week cruise ever? Yes, okay, one week cruise. You
- 5:18Speaker 2: get there and before you know it, you've got two
- 5:21Speaker 2: days left and you're back off the ship again. I
- 5:26Speaker 2: you know, that's just it to me. It's just too
- 5:28Speaker 2: difficult to do a one week cruise. I'd rather not go.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So I'm taking a cruise in October, taking my daughter
- 5:36Speaker 2: on a foody cruise because she's a foodie and I'm
- 5:38Speaker 2: a foodie, and well I'm an eater. She's a foodie
- 5:41Speaker 2: much like she's like Neil really is very good at cooking.
- 5:44Speaker 2: So we're taking a cruise. It'll be ten days.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Are you going to take Neil Savager with you?
- 5:49Speaker 2: No, not at all, Not at all. It'll be Pamela
- 5:51Speaker 2: and me. I have never done just a Pamela and
- 5:53Speaker 2: Meet cruise.
- 5:53Speaker 7: What if she gets sick, has an unfortunate accident before
- 5:57Speaker 7: the cruise.
- 5:59Speaker 6: Fault the thing, No, I understand, put her out for
- 6:01Speaker 6: a couple of weeks.
- 6:02Speaker 5: I understand.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Suddenly Neil has to go.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Okay, guys, are you ready to do it? Because I'm
- 6:08Speaker 2: leaving on vacation tomorrow. Actually I'm not.
- 6:11Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I'm just throwing that out at you. Okay, guys, it's
- 6:15Speaker 2: time for Handle on the News with Heather in for
- 6:19Speaker 2: Amy Today.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Neil and me lead story. Okay, the President has once more.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Held off on his attack on Iran, saying that negotiations
- 6:33Speaker 2: to end the war start today. And he said this
- 6:36Speaker 2: yesterday he called off the biggest attack since World War Two.
- 6:42Speaker 2: And everybody is very excited about this, except the only
- 6:46Speaker 2: problem is Ron said, what are you talking about. We're
- 6:49Speaker 2: not sitting down and talking to you. And so once
- 6:53Speaker 2: again we have the whipsaw coming. We're going to attack tonight. No, okay,
- 6:58Speaker 2: you won't attack tonight. Tomorrow we're going to attack. No, No,
- 7:01Speaker 2: we're going to hold off because the Iranians are desperate,
- 7:05Speaker 2: desperate to have a deal, and they've come begging for
- 7:07Speaker 2: a deal. So we're not going to attack. And this
- 7:11Speaker 2: morning we're not going to attack. And then the poll
- 7:14Speaker 2: goes by two o'clock. Our time is the president to
- 7:18Speaker 2: change his mind and go back to attacking. Don't know
- 7:21Speaker 2: the answer to that.
- 7:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And then because he this I don't understand. Because he
- 7:28Speaker 2: said there's an impending deal coming, oil drops pretty substantially.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Everybody's excited. Does anybody not believe Iran when they say
- 7:40Speaker 2: we're not talking? Or is it the president says we're
- 7:45Speaker 2: talking and that's the truth. Well, and the Strait of
- 7:52Speaker 2: Hormuz it is going to open, and Iran says it
- 7:56Speaker 2: may open, but we're the ones that are going to
- 7:58Speaker 2: control it.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Nope, that's not true.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Uh, it'll be uh it'll be a free unfettered international
- 8:06Speaker 2: uh uh uh incident.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Water well free un said, Well, hold on, I'll get there,
- 8:14Speaker 5: I'll get there.
- 8:15Speaker 7: Uh free And oh you went on vacation today, We're
- 8:18Speaker 7: gonna be I did.
- 8:19Speaker 2: It'll be transiting, It'll be free on unfettered international transit
- 8:25Speaker 2: for ship ship way.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Okay, all right.
- 8:29Speaker 3: As if things couldn't get worse with what's happening in
- 8:32Speaker 3: the Strait of hour Meeus. Now, a new study finds
- 8:36Speaker 3: that there is a new threat that's brewing in the straits.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Scientists are warning that the idling vessels there the ships
- 8:45Speaker 3: could unleash an invasive marine super spreader event uh. They're
- 8:50Speaker 3: saying that. This study by international coalition from the University
- 8:55Speaker 3: of Maryland Center for Environmental Science says that invasive marine
- 9:00Speaker 3: organisms that have grown on the ship's holes since they've
- 9:03Speaker 3: been stalled there in the strait could pose a significant
- 9:07Speaker 3: threat to ecosystems across the globe. When the ships reached
- 9:10Speaker 3: their final destination.
- 9:11Speaker 2: So yeah, when I was single, I dated the wrong
- 9:15Speaker 2: woman and it turned out to be a super spread
- 9:17Speaker 2: of spread event.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Okay, moving on gross already.
- 9:26Speaker 7: So we know that Blanche, Donald Trump's nominee for Attorney General,
- 9:32Speaker 7: Todd Blanche. The big stickler here was the establishing of
- 9:38Speaker 7: that the anti weaponization fund, right, and that was you
- 9:44Speaker 7: had two Republicans pushing back on that, blah blah blah,
- 9:47Speaker 7: going back and forth with all that while he has
- 9:50Speaker 7: now rescinded that anti repization fund, and that is the
- 9:55Speaker 7: one major hurdle from him seeing Attorney General theat nomination.
- 10:01Speaker 2: The issue was putting it in writing, which you wouldn't do,
- 10:05Speaker 2: said the Senate. Yeah, he said verbally it's over, it's dead,
- 10:09Speaker 2: And in the Senate said, okay, put in writing, and
- 10:12Speaker 2: he wouldn't do it, but believe me, it's stead.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Well, okay, now it's in writing.
- 10:18Speaker 2: What I don't understand is this is an issue one
- 10:21Speaker 2: point eight billion dollar anti weaponization. People who were the
- 10:27Speaker 2: Justice Department weaponized. You know what's happening now, you know
- 10:33Speaker 2: the weaponization of the Department of Justice. You know again
- 10:36Speaker 2: I was talking to and this warning I don't understand
- 10:39Speaker 2: any of this. I mean, we've gotten into bizarro world.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It really has gone crazy. I just I don't even
- 10:46Speaker 2: understand what's happening.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Also was to stop him from coming back and saying
- 10:50Speaker 3: never mind, I didn't mean it, or the President saying no,
- 10:52Speaker 3: actually I am going to override this, you know, attendem
- 10:57Speaker 3: no because it's in writing.
- 10:58Speaker 2: And then now in that on behalf of the Justice Apartment.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Now can the President say yeah, I've changed my mind. Yeah,
- 11:06Speaker 2: because it's an executive directive. Sure he can. But the
- 11:09Speaker 2: problem is is I think Congress has to fund it.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And therein lies a fight in front of the courts
- 11:16Speaker 2: again where the President is really stretching the envelope, really
- 11:21Speaker 2: pushing the envelope on executive power. And he's gone to
- 11:25Speaker 2: court and for the most part ninety at least ninety
- 11:28Speaker 2: percent of the time, the courts have shut him down
- 11:30Speaker 2: said you can't do that.
- 11:31Speaker 5: You just can't. That's an abuse of power. All right,
- 11:34Speaker 5: Moving on.
- 11:35Speaker 3: All right, So there's a bit of a divide happening
- 11:37Speaker 3: with California Democrats.
- 11:39Speaker 4: The executive board of.
- 11:40Speaker 3: The California Democrats is now supporting Prop forty. That's the
- 11:44Speaker 3: one time five percent tax on billionaire's assets, and that
- 11:47Speaker 3: will go to help fund healthcare and restore some safety
- 11:51Speaker 3: net programs. And this has created a rift between on
- 11:56Speaker 3: the left between Governor Newsome and major union and tech
- 12:01Speaker 3: leaders who warned that the tax would destabilize California's budget
- 12:05Speaker 3: and drive billionaires away.
- 12:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I don't know how many billionaires are going to go.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Is there a survey of billionaires are? Do you intended
- 12:14Speaker 2: on leaving or not intended on leaving?
- 12:16Speaker 3: When you spaid about what two hundred billionaires in the state.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's over five years. I don't know the answer.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Its one time here, I'm still for five years. What
- 12:26Speaker 2: for now I'm staying?
- 12:27Speaker 5: Oh good?
- 12:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean okay, all hundreds and I will leave, okay,
- 12:34Speaker 2: And that's what you know, what's going on with that.
- 12:37Speaker 2: And I don't know how many have left. And it's
- 12:39Speaker 2: easy for these billionaires to say I no longer live
- 12:43Speaker 2: in California. Oh yeah, they just said, Well, they have
- 12:45Speaker 2: houses all over the country. So then there's an issue
- 12:49Speaker 2: of where you do your business, what you spend your time,
- 12:51Speaker 2: where you spend.
- 12:51Speaker 7: Your California is pretty up your butt when it comes
- 12:54Speaker 7: to your taxes.
- 12:55Speaker 5: They will cool.
- 12:56Speaker 7: You have to be what six months plus one day
- 12:59Speaker 7: living somewhere else to have it count.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yes, yes, and beyond that, you can be six months
- 13:05Speaker 2: plus one day and still be hit. Because California, the
- 13:09Speaker 2: way it determines residency and taxable income is insane, insane.
- 13:18Speaker 2: It's almost impossible to fight. I mean, it's a fight
- 13:20Speaker 2: no matter what happens, it is a fight. If you
- 13:23Speaker 2: pack up and you move, you take your business, you
- 13:25Speaker 2: take your home, you register in another state, you vote
- 13:29Speaker 2: in the other state, you have no connection to California,
- 13:31Speaker 2: they're going to fight you.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to start doing an in depth KFI
- 13:36Speaker 3: news report and calling every billionaire in the state and
- 13:39Speaker 3: acstory if they will move and lend me a couple bucks.
- 13:45Speaker 7: All right, So Japan the United States partnering basically United
- 13:49Speaker 7: States shipping in and helping them out conducting a coordinated
- 13:54Speaker 7: yen buying intervention. So the US says it won't hesitate
- 13:58Speaker 7: to take further action, got Japan's Finance ministry saying Monday
- 14:02Speaker 7: that this rare bilateral action to halt the end slide,
- 14:07Speaker 7: to get this a fresh forty year low.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Yeah, this is tough, and this is what this is
- 14:14Speaker 2: what governments do is when a currency starts sliding UH
- 14:20Speaker 2: a number of reasons. The economy is looked at, export, import, inflation,
- 14:26Speaker 2: hits all of that, and then the currency starts sliding.
- 14:30Speaker 2: The government itself comes in and starts buying its UH,
- 14:35Speaker 2: its own currency UH. And the United States in this
- 14:38Speaker 2: in this case is jumping in and helping Japan buy,
- 14:43Speaker 2: buying in to stabilize because there as you buy things
- 14:47Speaker 2: and it's just they become more valuable whatever's left. And
- 14:51Speaker 2: that's that's the plan.
- 14:53Speaker 5: Here.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Some sad news out of Long Beach from the Vans
- 14:56Speaker 3: Warped tour last weekend. UH man died and right now
- 15:02Speaker 3: his family and investigators don't know what happened, but he
- 15:06Speaker 3: had a fatal brain injury at the concert. And right
- 15:09Speaker 3: now they say they're trying to piece together the timeline
- 15:11Speaker 3: of what exactly happened to a man named David Granado Junior.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 2: He may have fallen, he may have Yeah, there's just
- 15:18Speaker 2: no information.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Very sad.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah it is.
- 15:23Speaker 2: And I'm wondering, is it is this warped tour Vans
- 15:27Speaker 2: warped tour is uh? That is that one of the
- 15:31Speaker 2: things that one of those events where people do a
- 15:34Speaker 2: lot of drugs.
- 15:35Speaker 5: I don't know, like a rave.
- 15:36Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Yeah, ConA went last weekend. He could probably speak to
- 15:40Speaker 3: that a little bit more. I know that there's a
- 15:41Speaker 3: lot of drinking.
- 15:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I was drinking and it's really hot. So not
- 15:46Speaker 6: too many drugs like ADM or those kind of festivals.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah, not like a rave kind of thing. It's like
- 15:51Speaker 3: an it's like an older rock concert, like alt rock
- 15:55Speaker 3: concert kind.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Of Oh who went?
- 15:57Speaker 4: What?
- 15:57Speaker 5: What were the groups that played?
- 16:00Speaker 6: Probably the biggest one nationally is like Jimmy World.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Or ninety No idea? Who that is?
- 16:06Speaker 6: Simple plan?
- 16:07Speaker 7: No, let's not throw the word punk around so loosely
- 16:11Speaker 7: showing it.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Who's that?
- 16:14Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 16:15Speaker 6: Oh that's in the story.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Oh, I'm going through the list of I'm going through
- 16:21Speaker 2: a list of concerts that I would go to, and
- 16:23Speaker 2: all the performers are dead.
- 16:25Speaker 4: The Glenn Miller orchestra.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yes, very strong, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, you bet.
- 16:32Speaker 6: Well.
- 16:33Speaker 7: The Democrats have jumped into the hubbub regarding the former
- 16:37Speaker 7: olympian who is accused of damaging the Lincoln Memorial reflecting
- 16:41Speaker 7: pool Liner after that multi million.
- 16:44Speaker 6: Dollar rehab that the White House did so.
- 16:47Speaker 7: Now you've got Democratic Representative Ted lou a member of
- 16:51Speaker 7: the House Judiciary Committee. By the way, he promised to
- 16:53Speaker 7: investigate the government's what he refers to botched attempt to
- 16:58Speaker 7: charge this individual Sunday morning and came out, he said.
- 17:02Speaker 7: The US attorney accused him her rather of trying to
- 17:07Speaker 7: destroy the life of David Hearn by charging him with
- 17:11Speaker 7: a felony felony destruction of property based on false evidence.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Do you remember the press conference where Janine Perot, I
- 17:18Speaker 2: mean so angry said as of David Hearn, he put
- 17:24Speaker 2: his hands into the reflecting pool and he did it England.
- 17:30Speaker 5: Then he was.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Rude and obnoxious to the park police as part of
- 17:34Speaker 2: his felony charge. Rude and put his hand forcefully into
- 17:42Speaker 2: the pool, both his hands, she pointed out. And then
- 17:46Speaker 2: he picked out a piece of floating paint, and she argued,
- 17:53Speaker 2: he tore it out of the lining and I said,
- 17:59Speaker 2: this is so stupid. It was a piece of paint
- 18:04Speaker 2: that had peeled off. Well guess what, she now goes
- 18:07Speaker 2: into court. I'm sorry. It turned out to be a
- 18:10Speaker 2: piece of paint that was peeling off, and it was
- 18:13Speaker 2: a shoddy painting, and.
- 18:15Speaker 7: I wish you could find a Republican that had one
- 18:18Speaker 7: tenth that amount of anger. About January sixth, Yeah, she
- 18:25Speaker 7: was livid.
- 18:26Speaker 5: She was frothing at the mouth.
- 18:28Speaker 2: We have evidence and it's uncontrovertible, and we are going
- 18:31Speaker 2: to nail him. And I was screaming, saying, come on, guys,
- 18:36Speaker 2: really and this thing is just badly put together. And
- 18:40Speaker 2: so it turned out, Oh and the President is oh,
- 18:43Speaker 2: he's doubling down. Remember he said that it was vandalism,
- 18:46Speaker 2: that someone had to take a taken a box cutter
- 18:49Speaker 2: and slit the reflecting pool, the lining all the way
- 18:53Speaker 2: up three hundred yards. Zero evidence. I mean, they drained
- 18:57Speaker 2: the pool nothing, there's there's no proof at all that
- 19:00Speaker 2: that happened.
- 19:00Speaker 5: It's just it just sows the paint peeling.
- 19:03Speaker 7: What is the liner, It's not like a it's a
- 19:06Speaker 7: paint above it's right, it's.
- 19:10Speaker 5: A paint on the line. There is a liner.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Then they painted they then I think they painted the
- 19:15Speaker 2: liner to make it bluer.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Oh I thought it was just the paint.
- 19:19Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I think it is. I think it's on the liner,
- 19:23Speaker 2: but it doesn't make any difference. I mean, the paint
- 19:25Speaker 2: peeled it was badly constructed. And she agreed, and the
- 19:29Speaker 2: judge was just about to nail her, and and Trump
- 19:33Speaker 2: went crazy that they dropped the lawsuit where they dropped
- 19:36Speaker 2: the charges it was vandalism. He said, well, I mean
- 19:40Speaker 2: evidence doesn't evidence doesn't matter. It doesn't matter evidence.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Sometimes we are mad about the wrong things and not
- 19:49Speaker 3: mad about enough about other things. Yeah, all right, fast
- 19:54Speaker 3: moving wildfires in Washington. Very sad situation here, very scary.
- 19:58Speaker 3: It's still also very active there right now. Fifteen major
- 20:02Speaker 3: fires burning across the state of Washington, the biggest ones
- 20:08Speaker 3: in the Spokane area Spokane County. Two hundred and fifty
- 20:12Speaker 3: thousand acres have been burned there. Six hundred homes and
- 20:16Speaker 3: businesses have been destroyed. The mayor of Spokane calling it
- 20:20Speaker 3: the worst natural disaster our region has faced. Also, as
- 20:25Speaker 3: we reported this morning, some California firefighters incident management teams
- 20:30Speaker 3: are on their way, if not already there in Spokane
- 20:34Speaker 3: to help support as much as they can from here
- 20:36Speaker 3: in California.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Yeah, it's getting crazy.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Europe is burning up, France and Italy, Spain really badly
- 20:44Speaker 2: hit well. Climate change, We can talk about that for
- 20:47Speaker 2: a long time. The climatologist said as climate change, as
- 20:51Speaker 2: earth warms up, the fires are going to be much stronger.
- 20:56Speaker 2: There's going to be more of them. The flooding is
- 20:59Speaker 2: going to be much more serious. There'll be more of
- 21:02Speaker 2: those for a longer period of time. And that's exactly
- 21:05Speaker 2: what's happening. I'll tell you where the weather people were wrong,
- 21:09Speaker 2: dead wrong, and that is how quickly it happened. They
- 21:13Speaker 2: didn't think it was going to happen quickly this quick.
- 21:16Speaker 2: That's their error.
- 21:18Speaker 4: If anyone sees Jesus around, ask him if this is scriptural,
- 21:24Speaker 4: something predicted in the Bible, all of these fires and floods,
- 21:27Speaker 4: end of.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Days, end of days.
- 21:30Speaker 2: There it is where you can, right there in the Bible,
- 21:33Speaker 2: where you can literally go to the ocean and poach
- 21:36Speaker 2: your eggs within a matter of just a few years.
- 21:41Speaker 7: I'm so excited because it's government shut down season and
- 21:45Speaker 7: I just I love it. It just means falls around
- 21:48Speaker 7: the corner.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Morman Fuzzy.
- 21:49Speaker 7: Yes, So it seems that key senators unveiled a very
- 21:53Speaker 7: short term spending bill just yesterday that would keep all
- 21:58Speaker 7: the federal agencies funded past the midterm elections and into
- 22:03Speaker 7: early December. When handle goes on vacation until twenty twenty seven.
- 22:08Speaker 5: That is correct.
- 22:09Speaker 7: They're obviously looking to avoid the government shutdown during the
- 22:12Speaker 7: middle of campaign season.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Yeah, it is good.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah, those governments shutdowns, they don't do anybody very a
- 22:19Speaker 2: lot of good for sure stands.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Yeah, day no water in Florida.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they've had someone die from the very first that
- 22:29Speaker 3: the first death of the flesh eating bacteria. It's called
- 22:32Speaker 3: Vibrio vulnificous and it is spread through raw seafood or
- 22:37Speaker 3: contact with coastal water, and it sort of earned the
- 22:41Speaker 3: nickname flesh eating because of its ability to cause an
- 22:44Speaker 3: infection called vibriosis that damages or quote eats away.
- 22:49Speaker 4: As skin and tissue. They've had twelve cases so far
- 22:52Speaker 4: this season and one person dead.
- 22:54Speaker 5: You yep. And they changed the name.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Originally it was Vibrio Jeffrey down gross. Thank you. I
- 23:03Speaker 2: love flesh I love flesh eating bacteria. It is so entertaining.
- 23:07Speaker 2: It's just one of those fun diseases.
- 23:10Speaker 7: Not living in Florida myself. Do you need someone to
- 23:13Speaker 7: tell you not to go in the water.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Yeah, alligators, Yeah, yeah.
- 23:17Speaker 6: There's so many things.
- 23:18Speaker 2: It's like, Okay, do you know I once saw someone
- 23:21Speaker 2: who had suffered from flesh eating bacteria for real dead person.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I had attended an autopsy at UCLA, and it was
- 23:30Speaker 2: a doctor who said, come on down, because you know
- 23:32Speaker 2: they obviously you know I love death, and so I
- 23:35Speaker 2: was invited to see an autopsy. So I went to
- 23:39Speaker 2: see the autopsy and there was a room that the
- 23:44Speaker 2: door was opened, so I just peeked in there and
- 23:46Speaker 2: there's a woman who had died a flesh eating bacteria
- 23:51Speaker 2: and looked like a shark had taken out huge chunks
- 23:56Speaker 2: of her side and leg. Her flesh had been eaten away.
- 24:03Speaker 4: That's so sci fi, it really is.
- 24:06Speaker 7: It's really strange stuff, all right, Some families could start
- 24:11Speaker 7: getting sixty bucks a month in extra food assistance, mostly
- 24:14Speaker 7: with produce and the like. This is a new bill
- 24:20Speaker 7: that was introduced in July, and it would be called
- 24:24Speaker 7: Fresh Bucks for Fresh Produce Act would establish this pilot
- 24:29Speaker 7: program as they usually start with that awards grants to
- 24:32Speaker 7: states so that they can give extra money and grocery
- 24:35Speaker 7: money there to lower income to moderate income people. As sad,
- 24:39Speaker 7: we're getting to moderate income now to qualify for this
- 24:44Speaker 7: snap additional program.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but at the same time, how many people are
- 24:49Speaker 2: no longer eligible for SNAP. Millions have been cut from
- 24:53Speaker 2: the SNAP rules.
- 24:55Speaker 6: Yeah, isn't that based on qualifications?
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 24:58Speaker 5: What they did is they raise least the bar.
- 25:02Speaker 2: In other words, let's say you have to make fifteen
- 25:06Speaker 2: thousand dollars a year in order to qualify or under
- 25:10Speaker 2: fifteen thousand. Well they raised it to you have to
- 25:15Speaker 2: make under eighteen thousand dollars. So if you make let's
- 25:18Speaker 2: say two three thousand dollars more a year, I'm just
- 25:20Speaker 2: throwing some numbers out that no longer qualifies. They just
- 25:24Speaker 2: they're making it harder to get SNAP benefits, that's all.
- 25:28Speaker 2: It's just more difficult. Fewer people can get it. This
- 25:30Speaker 2: is contrary to that. This is going the other way.
- 25:35Speaker 2: And I don't know how the FEDS do that, I
- 25:37Speaker 2: really don't.
- 25:38Speaker 3: The FAA has announced a permanent no fly zone over
- 25:42Speaker 3: Trump Tower in Manhattan. There is a temporary no fly
- 25:46Speaker 3: zone that is in place right now, but it expires
- 25:48Speaker 3: October twentieth. Well, now it will become permanent, the Secret
- 25:52Speaker 3: Service says, due to adverse threat intelligence and their ongoing
- 25:57Speaker 3: protective mission, requesting that it be made permanent. No flying
- 26:02Speaker 3: over Trump Tower forever.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Well since it's an FAA determinative action.
- 26:08Speaker 2: What do you think you think the executive branch, the
- 26:11Speaker 2: FAA that strangely enough is part of executive You think
- 26:15Speaker 2: that's not going to happen.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, it's going to happen.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Of course it is.
- 26:19Speaker 7: Oh RFK Junior, here's thank god whoever got to him,
- 26:25Speaker 7: whatever it is, thank god. Health Secretary, long time vaccination skeptic,
- 26:30Speaker 7: as we all know, our FK Junior has finally said
- 26:37Speaker 7: that families parents should vaccinate their children against measles among
- 26:43Speaker 7: this outbreak, which is something we haven't seen in thirty
- 26:46Speaker 7: five years. So he came out yesterday and told American
- 26:51Speaker 7: parents they should get their children vaccinated against measles. They
- 26:55Speaker 7: straight out it's yeah, it goes against boosting misinftion and
- 27:01Speaker 7: vaccines being problem including mmr.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah, he's nuts, he's nuts. You take these vaccines that
- 27:10Speaker 2: have basically eradicated these horrific diseases polio, measles, it's based
- 27:17Speaker 2: on vaccinations, and he comes up with doubt. You know,
- 27:20Speaker 2: accident vaccination has cost autism, Maybe you shouldn't vaccinate. The
- 27:25Speaker 2: number of people who are now not being vaccinated has exploded,
- 27:30Speaker 2: and he is just straight out crazy.
- 27:33Speaker 5: And now I.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Mean it's just for of course, you get measles vaccines.
- 27:37Speaker 2: How can you have a kid that you don't get
- 27:39Speaker 2: measles vaccines unless there's some real medical issues involved, allergies
- 27:45Speaker 2: or negative reactions.
- 27:46Speaker 7: I think this is going to change that set of
- 27:50Speaker 7: anti vaxxers that are hard.
- 27:52Speaker 6: They're just going to go, oh, someone got to him.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly he was pressed into saying this for
- 27:57Speaker 2: political purposes.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Yeah. I think that's exactly what's going to happen.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Okay, we're going to visit the billionaire tax that is
- 28:07Speaker 2: moving ahead here in California because we want to get
- 28:10Speaker 2: those billionaires to pay and pay big. We'll be right
- 28:14Speaker 2: back KFI AM six point forty.
