- 0:00As 2023 comes to an end, can we look forward to next year in the
- 0:06state of Missouri and possibly some other states with that,
- 0:10with the expectation that we could see new legal tender
- 0:13legislation being passed that would allow you to reclaim your
- 0:17constitutional right to use silver and gold as real money?
- 0:22Today we're joined by Mr. Pat Holland.
- 0:25He's leading the initiative in Missouri, and he's promised to
- 0:28give us an update as to what we might expect for 2024.
- 0:33Mr. Holland, welcome back to Ron's Basement.
- 0:36Ron, thank you for having me back, man.
- 0:38You know what I never asked you. We have a gold bear, We have a
- 0:42silver bear. We have a platinum bear, but we
- 0:45have a 4th bear there too. We do, oh, the Weber bear.
- 0:50Yeah, the Weber bear, is that what he is?
- 0:53Is the Weber bear. He's the Weber bear.
- 0:55He's the Weber Spice bear. So, so he's.
- 0:57Not like the Palladium Bear or anything like that.
- 1:00Or not yet. But you know, we're not against
- 1:02putting a blindfold on him at some point, so.
- 1:04OK. Gotcha.
- 1:05All right. Well, it yeah, it's nice to see,
- 1:07you know the families growing out there you know and so Yep.
- 1:11And I'll tell you what the you know the.
- 1:14The platinum bear. He looks exasperated right now.
- 1:18He looks like Riley Tucker. Yeah.
- 1:19So just throwing that out there, he's been, he's been through the
- 1:22mill, he's. He looks like it.
- 1:26Poor Platinum's taking a beating lately.
- 1:29Yeah, you know, and and well, shoot, all of them have
- 1:31technically. You know, you look at the
- 1:34inflation we've had since, you know, COVID, and it's just
- 1:38fascinating to me that gold and silver are the only things that
- 1:40really can't rise up too much. Yeah, you know, you know, you
- 1:43look at your groceries and everything's virtually doubled.
- 1:47You know, what you'd buy in groceries and some things more
- 1:49than others. I meant look at the, you know,
- 1:51the cost of, you know, meat at the grocery store.
- 1:54You know, the price of cheese at the grocery store.
- 1:58They've doubled, if not more, You know, things of that nature
- 2:02and everything else has, you know, computer parts have gone
- 2:04up quite a bit too, but they do keep gold and silver awfully
- 2:07suppressed. You know the the premiums are
- 2:10up. You know the the premiums are
- 2:13nice and high. So that's the free market way of
- 2:15dealing with the suppression done by our own government.
- 2:18But, but let me tell you, you mentioned you know, an update on
- 2:232024 and we have a rough copy of the actual gold and silver bill
- 2:29that I've been actually emailed by Senator Eigel and it's
- 2:33actually on our website inourforums@mofree.org.
- 2:37Now, it's not a 100% finished product, but it's enough for
- 2:40other states to grab a copy and start using it as a template to
- 2:44create their own bills in their own states.
- 2:47Just like kind of what happened last year because Senator
- 2:50Eagle's bill, you know, basically language from his bill
- 2:52ended up in, you know, a dozen states or more.
- 2:56And as so, you know, basically. And we're not saying that we're
- 2:59the smartest people in the world writing bills or anything, but
- 3:02Bill Eagle's pretty smart. And so he's doing a good job
- 3:06with this and other states you don't want to partake in that,
- 3:08you know, because there's there's ideas maybe they want to
- 3:11take. But I want to throw this out
- 3:12before we, you know, continue the exchange real quick.
- 3:17Any states out there that have sales tax on the purchase of
- 3:21gold and silver from your dealer, from a local dealer, get
- 3:25rid of it. Just that should be your top
- 3:27priority in that state is getting rid of that sales tax on
- 3:31gold and silver. It's tough to go anywhere else
- 3:33with gold and silver legislation with that still sitting on the
- 3:36table. It must be removed from the
- 3:38table. So I think, Ron, if memory
- 3:41serves, there's eight states I think that have sales tax left
- 3:45on gold and silver, something like that.
- 3:47Yeah, that sounds right. So those eight states, you've
- 3:50got your work cut out for you. You won't find help in the
- 3:53Missouri bill because we don't have that in Missouri.
- 3:56But that should be your first priority in 2024 legislatively
- 4:00is get rid of that sales tax. It shouldn't be there anyway.
- 4:02Tax on money? On money?
- 4:06Would that would that be akin to me taking four quarters to my
- 4:12local bank and wanting a $1.00 bill?
- 4:15Maybe not the best analogy and then saying, well it's actually
- 4:18going to cost you four quarters, a nickel and three pennies,
- 4:22yeah, plus a dime. I mean people wouldn't stand for
- 4:26that. But for some reason when they
- 4:28want to convert their make believe paper money into real
- 4:33money gold and silver, there are still a handful of states that
- 4:37are that are charging basically a tax, a fee for that
- 4:40transaction to be executed. If you're looking to buy gold,
- 4:43silver, or platinum, do yourself a favor and check out PIM Backs,
- 4:48the online precious metals bullion dealer and sponsor of
- 4:52Ron's Basement. I was a happy customer before
- 4:55they offered to support the channel.
- 4:57You'll find they have the best prices, quality, and service.
- 5:02I think Pembex is best and you will too.
- 5:05And be sure to tell him that you're from Ron's basement.
- 5:08That's a good analogy, even though what we're talking about
- 5:11different asset groups and quarters are synonymous with
- 5:16paper, you know, Federal Reserve notes, I got that.
- 5:19But that is a good analogy of what it technically is.
- 5:23And this is immoral, absolutely immoral.
- 5:27You should get rid of it on a moral, you know, just on moral
- 5:29grounds. But that's a very important part
- 5:32of of what we have to do here in the United States, to make gold
- 5:35and silver money, to make sure that states can trade between
- 5:39each other. Like, for instance, Minnesota
- 5:41has sales tax, a certain kind of sales tax on certain types of
- 5:45gold and silver coins and bars or whatever.
- 5:49And if we're going to trade with Minnesota in the future, you
- 5:52know, because they have gold and silver legal tender legislation,
- 5:56that would mean there would be a Minnesota sales tax, you know,
- 5:59basically on anything that we're purchasing from the state of
- 6:02Minnesota using gold and silver. And we won't do it.
- 6:05What that means is we're less likely to trade with you than
- 6:09with Oklahoma. You know, Oklahoma seems a
- 6:13better deal because they don't have that weird sales tax on
- 6:15gold and silver for transactions.
- 6:18So that's why states need to get rid of it.
- 6:20You have to start thinking of it along long lines of states
- 6:23trading with other states using gold and silver just the way
- 6:26they did a hundred 150 years ago.
- 6:28Yeah. And let me let, let let me just
- 6:31ask you to do a quick review. Why is it so important for the
- 6:35viewer who's watching us right now, sitting in sitting in Texas
- 6:39or California or New York State? Why is it?
- 6:43What's the benefit to them to having their state pass legal
- 6:47tender legislation? Sure.
- 6:50Well, currently you can use gold and silver.
- 6:53There's no law against it. But if you actually set up legal
- 6:56tender legislation, what happens is businesses become much more
- 7:01friendly to gold and silver. Silver becomes much more
- 7:04friendly to business just by having you know, a law saying
- 7:08that gold and silver are legal tender.
- 7:10It is more likely your businesses in your state will be
- 7:13using it for transactions. That's the the you know,
- 7:17basically the long and short of it.
- 7:20So you know, I and and and as a collective, the state itself,
- 7:26are they also able to on a collective basis for all their
- 7:30state citizens? It helps protect, I would
- 7:32imagine, the citizens, if there's a depository or a
- 7:35certain amount of the state's assets are held in silver and
- 7:40gold, is that is that a safe assessment as well?
- 7:43Sure. Yeah, I think so.
- 7:44But I think states invest in things that are not considered
- 7:47legal tender anyway. So the states can invest in gold
- 7:51and silver if they wanted to right now anyway.
- 7:53But having a depository in your state for gold and silver also
- 7:58is an incentive for businesses to start using gold and silver.
- 8:02If your state accepts gold and silver as payment of taxes, and
- 8:06we're not and and I get called out on this all the time, you're
- 8:09saying, gosh darn it, Pat, I don't want to pay gold and
- 8:11silver, you know, for my taxes. No, no, no, no.
- 8:14You don't have to. What you do is you just make it
- 8:17so the state has to take it if you offer it.
- 8:21So if a person should offer gold and silver, they could also
- 8:24offer dollars. You know Federal Reserve Notes.
- 8:28You know, I'm I'm. I'm of the opinion that you
- 8:31should be bringing, you know, you know, hundreds of thousands
- 8:34of pennies to pay your taxes and they have to take it because
- 8:37pennies are legal tender, by the way.
- 8:40And please don't tell them I told you that.
- 8:41But but the fact is really, really simple.
- 8:46Everything surrounds getting businesses to use gold and
- 8:49silver. Look at the flip side.
- 8:51Right now, the enemy the Federal Reserve is doing the Fed Now
- 8:55program. And they're trying to
- 8:57incentivize businesses to get off of the dollar or cash, more
- 9:01specifically cash. So the Fed incentivizes getting
- 9:07cashless. We need the states to
- 9:09incentivize gold and silver by making it legal tender, giving
- 9:13them another option. So it is.
- 9:16So it's us, the people. Against the Federal Reserve at
- 9:20this point. And, you know, yeah.
- 9:22Are we, you know, taking out our pitchforks and, you know, our
- 9:25torches and going after the Federal Reserve?
- 9:27No. But we need free market options
- 9:30for how people will transact before everyone gets pushed into
- 9:33this digital dollar. We definitely, states across the
- 9:36United States need to take this very, very seriously.
- 9:39Incidentally, states will be trapped into the same nonsense.
- 9:42They'll be using a digital dollar too.
- 9:44They'll have a digital wallet. The Federal Reserve can turn it
- 9:47on and off. Based on whether or not the
- 9:49state is compliant with everything the federal
- 9:52government wants, this is this is, this is anathema to the
- 9:56Constitution. The states have the power, if
- 9:59anyone go ahead. I was just going to say that's
- 10:03why the Founding Fathers put gold and silver in the
- 10:06Constitution, and I'm sorry I interjected on you there first.
- 10:09Mining Gold is a development company advancing 2 of the
- 10:13largest gold projects in Canada, Spring Pole in Ontario and
- 10:17Duparque, located in Quebec. Each already has 5 million
- 10:22ounces of gold reserves, but exploration initiatives are
- 10:26underway at both. Projects to find even more gold.
- 10:31First, mining is well financed, has zero debt and owns an
- 10:35interest in four additional Canadian gold development.
- 10:38Projects. You're right.
- 10:40Because it's no nation's money. It's everybody's money.
- 10:44Everyone can use gold and silver.
- 10:47So, and you know, it should be considered, you know, the world
- 10:50reserve currency in my opinion. But but of course you can't have
- 10:54just unlimited wars. So or, you know, and also to an
- 10:59enormous amount of entitlement programs that are just
- 11:02bottomless pits. So you can't have that under
- 11:05those circumstances. But getting businesses involved
- 11:08with gold and silver is key to getting gold and silver set as
- 11:12currency in the states, in the United States.
- 11:15So that's why legal tender legislation is necessary.
- 11:17Once again, MO free.org. In our forum section you can
- 11:21find the current. Version of the draft for gold
- 11:24and silver legislation. Doesn't matter what state you
- 11:26live in. Come and visit the forums.
- 11:28You do not have to sign up for the forums in order to see it
- 11:31and download a copy If you want to start a transact, not
- 11:35transact. If you want to start, you know
- 11:37transacting with other people talking to other people, you
- 11:40will have to sign up for an account on our forums.
- 11:41But just to go and read stuff and and pull stuff off, you
- 11:44don't. But we want to encourage that
- 11:47and. And then basically get people
- 11:50literally 2024, you know 2023, everyone knows what we did in
- 11:552023 in Missouri. There were and there were 23
- 11:57states total that we're looking at some type of legislation with
- 12:02gold and silver taking steps to making it legal tender, if not
- 12:06going all the way to legal tender.
- 12:08And in some states that already have legal tender, we're trying
- 12:10to get depositories, which is the end.
- 12:12And then ultimately a mint for their state to mint official
- 12:16specie for their state, that's another one we've never really
- 12:19explored fully, but that's an important part of this as well.
- 12:23So we are not a group of people that are anti Federal Reserve.
- 12:27We are pro free market that's what we are and every state
- 12:31should be that way as well And and and I think I'm hearing this
- 12:35theme as you were talking of privacy as well if you want any
- 12:40form or any hope for financial privacy in the future as we move
- 12:44into this electronic CBDC environment Gold and silver may
- 12:50become one of the few you know viable options for a individual
- 12:55who wants to you know maintain some freedom and liberty to to
- 12:59have an any form of financial privacy.
- 13:03Well, it goes beyond privacy though, doesn't it?
- 13:04Because people saving for the future will be totally
- 13:08controlled by the government, totally controlled.
- 13:11If we go into a digital dollar is so it's not so much just
- 13:15privacy, but the ability to save for the future.
- 13:17And you know, the ability to make investments may be cut off
- 13:21from you if you're not a really good citizen according to the
- 13:25the federal government. I would probably be.
- 13:28You know, in the bottom 5% of society, because of the way I
- 13:32talk about government, I I wouldn't be allowed to save.
- 13:35I probably wouldn't be allowed to drive very far.
- 13:38You know, I can just trying to envision all the things the
- 13:40government would do to people like me that are saying use the
- 13:4310th Amendment anti commandeering doctrine.
- 13:45You know, make sure that the federal government understands
- 13:47that when they do unconstitutional legislation
- 13:50that becomes law at the federal level, your state doesn't have
- 13:53to follow it. And that's very legal, by the
- 13:55way. This isn't.
- 13:57You know, you know, I, I was about to say something I
- 14:01probably shouldn't, but it's not a, you know, a form of violence
- 14:05against the government. It's actually using mechanisms
- 14:09the Founding Fathers installed in the 10th Amendment to make
- 14:14sure that the federal government couldn't do exactly what it's
- 14:17doing right now. And that's one more thing I'd
- 14:19like to point out is people say, well, you know the the, you
- 14:23know, the whole thing about the Revolutionary War is over taxes.
- 14:27That's not true. The revolution started with
- 14:30taxes that you know, the the Boston Tea Party 1773.
- 14:34But what is not taught often in schools anymore is what's called
- 14:38the Battle of Concorde, the shot heard around the world.
- 14:42The war started with gun confiscation.
- 14:45They don't teach that in schools because the last thing I guess
- 14:47they want to teach your kids is if the government comes to
- 14:50confiscate your guns, you don't let them do that.
- 14:53And that's the truth. That's the true history of the
- 14:56United States of America. But for some reason, it's
- 14:58forgotten in our history books Now, that's not that's not a
- 15:01convenient fact to be mentioned any longer.
- 15:04It's. Outside it sounds like it, but
- 15:07you know, but if you like, we could go into a little bit of,
- 15:10you know about the synonymous nature of land ownership and
- 15:14gold and silver, because they were they.
- 15:18What it inextricably ties these guys together is something
- 15:21called We call a Loyal Title. And so it was designed that way.
- 15:26It's your property once you get it, once you earn it, it's
- 15:30yours. And that's one thing that the
- 15:34Missouri Freedom Initiative is looking into.
- 15:36And it has nothing to do with gold and silver right now, but
- 15:39it may do in the future. And that is for people to be on
- 15:43the lookout, no matter where you live in the United States,
- 15:45whether or not there is a referendum for your school
- 15:48district or some kind of bond. They're trying to pass either in
- 15:53November, November 7th of this year or April of 2024.
- 15:59And the reason I'm I'm shouting this out is because it's
- 16:02something that the Missouri Freedom Initiative has come
- 16:04across. It turns out it's a national
- 16:06program. It's all over the United States.
- 16:09And I want people to know, and I'm going to make a video about
- 16:12this very soon, that a no tax, no tax increase bond issue is
- 16:17how a lot of these are sold, but they are tax increases.
- 16:21We just talked about 1773 Boston Tea Party.
- 16:24That was an actual vertical increase.
- 16:27I do believe the tea tax went from two cents to three cents.
- 16:32That's my understanding and I could be wrong, but I think
- 16:34that's right. And So what they're talking
- 16:38about with no tax increase, bond issues when it comes to your
- 16:42school district, it's a horizontal increase.
- 16:46Let me explain. If I have a house and I have a
- 16:4920 year loan on it. And I'm about to pay it off next
- 16:53year and not have to make house payments anymore.
- 16:57And then suddenly another 20 years of payments gets set up on
- 17:03my house, but it's the same payment that I've been paying
- 17:06all along that that they said that's not an increase.
- 17:12Well, that is an increase because you have to pay for your
- 17:14house again, but at the same rate that you were paying it it
- 17:17before. You just have to pay it for
- 17:19another 20 years. That's what schools do.
- 17:22That's how they say it's a no tax increase bond issue.
- 17:26People be wary. You know they're they're lying
- 17:28to you. It is a horizontal increase.
- 17:30Your taxes on your house, they like we talked about in 1773,
- 17:35your taxes keep going up. The taxes on your house keep
- 17:38going up because of your your county government.
- 17:41If you have property tax in your state.
- 17:42I understand we have a few states that are lucky enough not
- 17:45to be in that situation. God bless you all.
- 17:47That's wonderful. We in Missouri, unfortunately, a
- 17:50property tax, so your county can lift it up every two years and
- 17:55say congratulations Mr. Holland, your house is now worth
- 17:59$1,000,000 and then I got to pay taxes on that because they say
- 18:03it's worth $1,000,000. That's so they keep raising it.
- 18:07Your school gets that increase. Everyone who's getting property
- 18:10taxes, you know gets is funded through property taxes gets that
- 18:14increase. So.
- 18:16I think it's incumbent. I have a spider coming down from
- 18:19my ceiling. That's great.
- 18:21I think it's incumbent upon all of us to understand when schools
- 18:25are going for bonds, to find out if your schools truly need it.
- 18:29Truly need it. Because once again, gold and
- 18:31silver situation. There's just no way the public
- 18:34schools could get away with a lot of nonsense that they get
- 18:37away with right now. If we were on gold and silver,
- 18:38Ron, they'd have to be much more responsible with the people's
- 18:42money, much more responsible and because.
- 18:46Yeah, yeah. And because you know it's, you
- 18:50know it's just turn on the printing press funny money you
- 18:53know basically the government plays fast and loose with this
- 18:57look at his Social Security. I at the beginning of all my
- 19:01live streams for those of you don't know I do live streams on
- 19:03Saturday night and wants to know Blue Moon John or not John I'm
- 19:06sorry Ron actually joins us for those.
- 19:08So that's really cool and Ron has time to join.
- 19:12We show the US debt clock. At the beginning of all of our
- 19:16live streams, Ron, did you know that the United States
- 19:19government is actually acquired $1.4 trillion of debt in the
- 19:27last four months? No, I didn't realize it was that
- 19:31crazy. Yep, 1.4 trillion in the last
- 19:35four months. And I can prove it from June
- 19:3728th. So because I'm taking snapshots
- 19:41of the US debt clock and I'm. I'm dating them.
- 19:44So from June 28th up until today, we're at officially at
- 19:48$1.4 trillion of additional debt since June 28th of 2023.
- 19:55Guys, this is insane. The the, the spending that's
- 19:58going on right now. This is why I'm saying we have
- 20:00to be very careful what we vote in for taxes at this point.
- 20:04You know, silver and gold. If we were on a silver and gold
- 20:07standard, this nonsense simply couldn't happen.
- 20:10It simply couldn't happen. It's it's like a it's like a
- 20:13couple of drunken 24 year olds with their daddy's American
- 20:18Express black card in Las Vegas is what it feels like the the
- 20:22spending that's going on is it is it accurate to say that MO
- 20:27free.org could become kind of a hub for people around the
- 20:32country that want to look into legal tender legislation.
- 20:35I know you've said you have a copy of the Missouri legislation
- 20:38on there, but do you feel like if somebody around the country
- 20:42wants to learn more about it that that would be a good first
- 20:45place to come check out? I think so, because I don't know
- 20:49of any other organizations that are doing what we're doing right
- 20:52now, which is, you know, actually not only encouraging
- 20:55gold and silver legislation, but helping other states.
- 20:59You know, several people within our organization have done stuff
- 21:01to help other states with gold and silver legislation.
- 21:05And if you don't have an organization like the Missouri
- 21:07Freedom Initiative? You know, clearly you want to
- 21:10start one to support gold and silver in your state and this
- 21:13can serve as a meeting point. And we have an amazing
- 21:16Webmaster. His name is Tom and he is doing,
- 21:19you know, a fantastic job, you know, keeping up with the growth
- 21:23and everything. And we're looking for a brand
- 21:25new look is going to come to the website.
- 21:27All the functionality is being added, but we're going to have a
- 21:30different look to our website in the coming months.
- 21:33But. The important thing is to
- 21:35understand that there are people out there that can help you get
- 21:38this done and the more people you have, the better.
- 21:42You know, there's a Missouri Freedom initiative is not a
- 21:45small organization by any stretch, and it's a very popular
- 21:48legislation. We were able to get lots of
- 21:50people to come up to Jeff City to come and talk to legislators
- 21:53face to face in 2023 to talk about gold and silver
- 21:56legislation, and every state needs to consider doing the same
- 22:00thing. I think some states are going to
- 22:01do this by default just out of plain fear.
- 22:04And they should, they should, they should be afraid of what
- 22:08they see coming down the Pike with the digital dollar.
- 22:11You know, with inflation the way it is right now.
- 22:13The fact that states now understand the federal
- 22:16government lies about, you know, the CPI, you know, they all know
- 22:20it now. You know, I think a lot of
- 22:22people say no, no, the government won't fib on these
- 22:23numbers. Will they fib on a lot of
- 22:25numbers gang? A lot of numbers and
- 22:28unemployment is a big one and. There are many many others as
- 22:33well, like for instance GDP. They they fib on those.
- 22:36You can go to shadowstats.com and actually get a John Williams
- 22:40information based on the 1980 standard to see how the
- 22:44government's actually doing with their numbers.
- 22:46Well, I'm, I'm not saying this, but I've heard some some very
- 22:50smart people called the BLS, the Bureau of Lies and Statistics.
- 22:55So. That's correct.
- 22:57Yeah. There's a Pat.
- 22:58Thank you. As always.
- 22:59It's been great speaking with you.
- 23:01You know on behalf you're you're definitely a fan favorite in the
- 23:06Ron's basement community. You're always a wealth of
- 23:08knowledge and very generous with us and very generous with people
- 23:12all throughout the whole country that have an interest in
- 23:16furthering legal tender legislation.
- 23:18I know we've mentioned it already, but if people want to
- 23:21learn more about you, about your organization, it's MO free.org.
- 23:25You do a live stream on Saturday nights and I know when you're
- 23:30not too swamped, busy you're you're pretty good about, you
- 23:33know, returning emails and questions people have as well.
- 23:36And so on behalf of everyone, thank you.
- 23:39Thank you very much, Ron. Thank you for having me on and.
- 23:42And thanks for helping spread the word about gold and silver
- 23:45legislation nationwide. We all need it.
- 23:49Every state needs it. It's not just Missouri.
- 23:51You and I are Missourians, you know.
- 23:53So you know, it's not just for us.
- 23:55It's for everyone in every state.
- 23:57So thanks for helping to spread the word on that as well.
- 24:00And I just love the folks in the basement.
- 24:02I met. All the correspondence I've had
- 24:04with all the folks in the basement has been and it's been
- 24:06top notch. You have a very smart audience.
- 24:08Thank you. And and we do appreciate that
- 24:11you wore a red shirt today as well.
- 24:13You betcha. Solidarity man.
- 24:16See you soon, Pat. Thank you.
- 24:17See you, Ron. Thank you.
- 24:18God bless you.
