- 0:28what you got me because when you listen to me it's like
- 0:30saving the mind you know i always say saving the
- 0:33mind is saving the life and we got an interesting topic today
- 0:37and we kind of it's it's basically it's a little sprinkle of
- 0:40a little bit of everything it has kind of a little social justice
- 0:44political thing going on and we're
- 0:47going to be talking about activism and we're going
- 0:49to be talking about fake activism oh yeah so
- 0:52if you're one of those people listening out there that that uh
- 0:56how can i say describe themselves as an
- 0:59activist hey this is a good one oh
- 1:02let's go let's make it happen i'm excited
- 1:06good times are coming i'm back doing this
- 1:09podcast on a weekly daily whatever basis
- 1:12we doing it all but once again you know
- 1:15what i gotta love i gotta love for my legendary people
- 1:18but you gotta you know make sure that you share
- 1:21this feel free to comment reach out to me want
- 1:25to make a little donation treat me for a little coffee by all means
- 1:28let's make it happen and for those people out there that is new and just came
- 1:33across and said whoa what about i've been missing don't worry about it just
- 1:37follow my channel and you'll be listening to and i'm all across the platform
- 1:42so today we're talking about activism and what is activism.
- 1:47What if, you know, those people that say I'm an activist and,
- 1:50you know, just to give you a little kind of perspective, more clear through,
- 1:55you know, let's say for those individuals out there in the time of a Black Lives
- 1:59Matter, by all means, absolutely.
- 2:01It's a lot of people that jump on board on the Black Lives Matter.
- 2:04And, you know, we always want to.
- 2:06How can I say to you? There's a difference. And I always have mentioned it's
- 2:10a little different between what Black Lives Matter is versus what Black Lives
- 2:15Matter, the organization.
- 2:16And I think that by now there's a lot of people that kind of find out that the
- 2:20organization in itself, which is kind of running a scheme to just get some money,
- 2:24you know, real quick, quick, quick, rich scam.
- 2:27And the rest is history. But we're not here to talk about that because there
- 2:32is a thing of Black Lives Matter, you know, including things that happen in
- 2:36our neighborhood, police brutality, poverty in New York City.
- 2:41You know, a lot of our housing projects, sadly, you know, where,
- 2:44where, where some of these poverty happens.
- 2:46Some of these things happen in our neighborhood. You know, people of color,
- 2:50black community, Puerto Rican, Mexican, all that put them all in between.
- 2:54And there's people out there that, you know, when they become an activist,
- 2:58you know, if something like what happened to George Floyd, sadly,
- 3:01you know, people are going to get together.
- 3:03There's people that just just say, you know what, let me just fight the fight.
- 3:07It's my first time or there's people that just live life just doing that thing
- 3:13of being there, supporting, fighting the system, whatever the case might be.
- 3:19That's all fine and dandy.
- 3:22But what I've realized, and me, I'm not a self-claim or whatever it is.
- 3:31I want to say I'm not an activist. Because an activist, you have to be active.
- 3:37If you want to fight the pigeons, feed the pigeons, by all means.
- 3:40Hey, that's a thing, probably.
- 3:42But what I'm just saying is that I can't say, hey, listen, I just fight the fight.
- 3:47If I know something consciously that is bothering me, And there's people out
- 3:51there that collectively believe that, hey, listen, let's say I'm just using
- 3:56an example for two, you know, two weeks in a row.
- 3:59We see this dark cloud that's hanging out there in the blue skies and this dark
- 4:04cloud just beaming lightning.
- 4:06And there are people that might say, you know what?
- 4:09That was like a government experimentation gone wrong. Now we got to fight it.
- 4:13We got to go in the streets, all that.
- 4:15And I feel the same way. we're all going to gather in the streets in front of
- 4:18whatever tower and we're going to say hey fight the sister that's killing us
- 4:24etc and again and i'm going to do something that is genuinely heartfelt.
- 4:31In me but what i always have
- 4:34noticed and i got a lot of people that i follow a
- 4:37lot of people that i love a lot of people that i respect who claim
- 4:40to be activists sometimes it doesn't
- 4:43seem that they fighting they out there in the streets talking
- 4:46about black lives matter talking about uh safety pigeons and i'm trying to be
- 4:52a little bit funny here but you know hey again could be a thing domestic violence
- 4:56poverty abortion better education
- 5:01anti-deportation that's the thing but i sometimes feel like people tend to,
- 5:07Pick and choose what, you know, thing they want to fight, you know what I mean? Climate, whatever.
- 5:12And I remember I was having a conversation, or at least it was a conversation
- 5:17for sure, online on the socials or whatever it is, you know,
- 5:21whatever, you know, we are doing, we are talking.
- 5:24And we came across that the individual was basically saying,
- 5:28well, look, you know, deconstructing, you know, you're a great person.
- 5:31Oh, man, the way you think I love it. But you got to keep in mind that sometimes
- 5:35the person that's fighting, let's say, police brutality might not be the same person that's there.
- 5:42You know, domestic violence, you know, domestic violence is a situation.
- 5:45Hey, you got the month of a beautiful woman. Oh, we're going to be talking about that for sure.
- 5:53You know, domestic violence is a thing that happens in our community.
- 5:57Black, you know, the black community, Latino community. That's high.
- 6:00And I always say, look, I understand. You know, the person that's fighting climate
- 6:04change might not be the same person that's doing the domestic violence things.
- 6:09And I'm with that. But my thing is this, right, is that I always say that it's
- 6:14a lot of people and, you know, and I'm going to call you up.
- 6:17I know I got, you know, some white people in my audience that listen,
- 6:20you know, legendary, you know, some legendary people that are listening.
- 6:23That sometimes if you are in a space
- 6:26of well-to-do and you got
- 6:30the funds the monies and you say let me go to this march because i'm an activist
- 6:36with money which that happens a lot black lives matter let me boom boom boom
- 6:40boom support that money you know police brutality yo they phone the police all
- 6:45that they phone the police you know all that good stuff you know what i mean.
- 6:49But then, let's say, there haven't been, you know, let's say,
- 6:56an unarmed black brother, sister, whatever it is.
- 6:59Let's just say that we go months and years, nothing happened.
- 7:02But at least now it's behaving good, right?
- 7:05So that activist that was doing the Black Lives Matter, they claim to say that,
- 7:10you know, they're talking about that we're for the community,
- 7:13we're for the black people, we're for the Puerto Ricans, all this.
- 7:16But they just don't show up on any of
- 7:19the issues that hit us so they just
- 7:22say that those in that community whatever black
- 7:25lives matter we decide you know what okay now let's
- 7:28move on to other issues that affect us poverty that's a thing you know that's
- 7:32definitely a thing in the united state i love united states of america but sadly
- 7:37politicians you know they take advantage of the people and you know a lot of
- 7:42that tax money goes somewhere that it's not to help the people you You know what I mean?
- 7:46But then some people might say, hey, listen, how about these people?
- 7:49They're just not working.
- 7:51They're just feeding off the system, collecting food stamps or all that good stuff.
- 7:56And I came from that area, you feel me? And I'm not one to say,
- 8:00hey, you know, stuff happened.
- 8:03People do scan the system, but there's a lot of people in our neighborhood in poverty.
- 8:08So they don't necessarily, you know, how can I say? They don't feed themselves
- 8:13or we don't feed them where they will have that energy to just prosper and make things happen.
- 8:21So those activists out there with the wealth to do with having this type of
- 8:25money, they wouldn't care about our issues.
- 8:28And I bring out with the deportation situation going on, you know, I see a lot of activists.
- 8:34I see a lot of in my socials, especially in my socials. And I've been calling
- 8:38people out over there talking about, you know, you know, this current administration,
- 8:43what's going on with the deportation.
- 8:45And I also follow a lot of people that are independent, think alike and say, hey, listen,
- 8:50we get it you know i'm not a fan of that deportation hey listen there's a lot of uh,
- 8:56you know what they call illegal migrants here they you know been here for years
- 9:00away listen they work they pay taxes by all means that is true but the thing is that.
- 9:08We point out that listen so you're doing
- 9:11this anti-deportation march you're going
- 9:14on your social you're being an activist you know
- 9:17deportation is a thing that happens every time whether it's
- 9:20this current administration when i say this current
- 9:23administration for those are listening out there in other countries we're
- 9:27talking about the trump administration the current president of the
- 9:29united states so biden under
- 9:32joseph biden the previous administration barack obama
- 9:36president twice eight years deportation happened in those years so that those
- 9:41same people that are claiming to be anti-deportation wouldn't be on that anti-deportation
- 9:47And even though the deportation by numbers have shown that under those presidents that I just mentioned,
- 9:54Biden and Barack, that deportation was as high, even higher than what's going on now.
- 10:01So now my activists, my so-called activists, people, brothers and sisters that's
- 10:05going on out there, I'm over.
- 10:09I was going to say, y'all more foes. But yeah, that's what I said.
- 10:13You know, y'all guys are going out there talking about, yeah,
- 10:16you know, all the quotation and they go on this, excuse me, tantrum.
- 10:23But then the question is, where were you four years ago? What happened?
- 10:28No, no, you know, it's just that there's other things. And that's when I say about activism.
- 10:34When sometimes people get paid to be activists, they get paid.
- 10:37I can't believe that there's a word provocateur.
- 10:41So you got those people that are anti-activists that get paid to disrupt these nice marches.
- 10:49As there is those people that are paid or agents, agent provocateurs as to where.
- 10:54There are those people that are being paid to be activists, to do activist work.
- 11:00I remember years ago, years ago, I remember the football player,
- 11:05Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49.
- 11:08You know, he's a brother out there I believe my understanding He's a half-brother,
- 11:12And he has, you know I think a little bit of white Or he grew up in a white
- 11:15household He was adopted,
- 11:18And I'm just saying I'm just throwing it out there For those people to remember
- 11:21On both sides of the aisle And he was doing the kneeling On the national anthem
- 11:25and all that And I'd say, hey, listen All right, all right.
- 11:29Whether you agree or not. And I was like, I was with him.
- 11:33I think my issue with Cap was that, okay, Cap, what are you talking about here?
- 11:39And I remember there was a former great legend, Jim Brown, football player,
- 11:43who was a football player back in the 40s, 50s, something to that effect.
- 11:48And he became an activist, you know?
- 11:52And he was about that life, you feel me?
- 11:55Oh he was about that life and you
- 11:58know jim brown you know whatever in his 80s you
- 12:01know he kind of was questioning cap like okay so what's
- 12:07the solution here you know what i mean what what can we do i mean i understand
- 12:12you did the reason why he was kneeling down was because of police brutality
- 12:16and so on you know what was going on with you know police and the black community
- 12:21it's Something that even Brother Malcolm X,
- 12:23I mean, in the 60s, was very clear, you know.
- 12:26But now as segregation ended and, you know, all this going on,
- 12:31you know, then police brutality became a little bit more different.
- 12:34It became a little bit more silent, if you will, not in front of you.
- 12:39But, you know, with the situation with George Floyd, a little bit different.
- 12:42There's, you know, people out here, Eric Garner, you know, we could go on and
- 12:45on. So, again, the question is, when you're doing The Activist with Cap,
- 12:50it's like, okay, so the masses is this, but what are you doing? You understand?
- 12:55What can we do to further come out of this?
- 12:58And, you know, the interesting thing with Cap and then that he signs with Nike,
- 13:02you know, Nike is this sneaker company.
- 13:04They make all these athlete companies, whatever, billion dollar company,
- 13:08you know, and they're going to pretend, hey, let's give Cap $100 million,
- 13:12something to that effect. And then what you become, you become what I call a
- 13:16capitalist activist. You know what I mean?
- 13:19You capitalize and make money off your activism, which that happens a lot.
- 13:26A lot. And one would question and we go back to the Black Lives Matter organization,
- 13:34not the movement, but the organization.
- 13:36There's black folks out there that are independent minded who ask the question.
- 13:41So all that hoopla, you guys got 400 million dollar donations from all over
- 13:48the world, whatever it is.
- 13:50But then what came about it why is
- 13:53not the black community different why are
- 13:56there we still having the same issues right and
- 14:00that's the thing that happens with my people's out there and i call it and sometimes
- 14:05i go to the social and i call them out and like what are you doing so you know
- 14:10with all the respect you you show so much energy you know going in trouble you
- 14:14know deportation All that good stuff I get it,
- 14:19But why you didn't do it under the previous administration You know Well because
- 14:24what It's going to hurt to pocket You see that's another thing too,
- 14:28It's a lot of people out there Look I got a donation by I don't know who's going
- 14:32to donate There's people that donated And I know them A couple of random people Hey,
- 14:37But my thing is this Those random people Or anonymous donations Or whatever the case might be.
- 14:45I don't know who they are But then if they start donating And start kind of
- 14:50like telling me Like hey here's a hundred dollars,
- 14:54Can you not talk about this But let's focus on that That happens Especially
- 14:59with those activists out there Hey by all means you got to get paid Hey I understood
- 15:03cap And they say hey you got to get paid You know what I mean,
- 15:07But that's why I always say Think about it this Why is there activists,
- 15:11I thought by now we would have Be living in a better system Or we would think
- 15:16that we would have better leaders,
- 15:18Who claim to also be activists That are doing that work So that,
- 15:22hey, listen Our communities could get out of poverty.
- 15:26You know, what are we doing? You know, some people, you know,
- 15:30government handouts, whatever it is.
- 15:32And I want to say, look, listen, if somebody's struggling,
- 15:37whether it's mentally, physically, whatever, and they stuck in this neighborhood
- 15:41where there's a lot of poverty and with poverty comes crime and comes a lot
- 15:45of things, you know, people forget that.
- 15:47A lot of people just don't wake up to be criminals. A lot of people just sadly,
- 15:51you know, in order to survive, there's other things.
- 15:54And when you're not feeding your mind, your body, your soul,
- 15:58sadly, you're going to make a lot of bad mistakes.
- 16:00And crime is that thing. So I say to myself, you know, can we give these people
- 16:06a little bit more, a little bit more extra on that, you know,
- 16:09SNAP benefits, you know, food stamps.
- 16:11Let's give them a little bit more. And let's also create a program that,
- 16:15hey, let's motivate them spiritually, physically, mentally,
- 16:20something, You know, just, I always said, like, listen, giving people money
- 16:23or whatever it is, that's just one aspect of things that we shall do more. You know what I mean?
- 16:32And that's the thing where activists, they fall short.
- 16:35And they're not genuine. A lot of people, and you sense it, they're out there
- 16:39talking about, yeah, activists, yeah, we're going to fight this.
- 16:43Let's go. But I said, relax.
- 16:46You don't sound genuine to me. You're not sounding like you're doing this fight
- 16:50to really fight the fight. You're just trying to build a profile.
- 16:54And how does activism and this fake activism hurt us, I said,
- 16:59and especially fake activism, this manufacturing activism, it hurt us. It hurts our community.
- 17:06Because, again, a lot of times it's just for sure.
- 17:09Well, today's 90 News is brought to you by, you know, this situation where,
- 17:15oh, my God, David, what's going on there?
- 17:16Why don't we protesting? and what this march is all about, what's going on.
- 17:20I'll grab that mic, boom, get out of here.
- 17:23I'll tell you what this march is all about. It's a revolution.
- 17:27It's not a revolution or the beginning of a revolution. It's a revolution that
- 17:30should always continue.
- 17:32If you're an activist out there that sometimes question yourself,
- 17:36fight all the fights, all of it, even if one has nothing to do with the other.
- 17:42Because in our neighborhood, in our communities, but there's poverty.
- 17:47The poverty, there's crime, there's this, there's that.
- 17:50Police the brutality. That's why sometimes police, you know,
- 17:52they chomp on their teeth like, okay, you okay?
- 17:55Man, you're about to stop a couple of black kids, Tyrone, Malibu,
- 17:58you're about to stop Jose, Mario, Luisito, you know what I mean?
- 18:03They chop on the tailgate, you know?
- 18:05Start poking and prodding like, hey, and then, you know, sadly,
- 18:08if you're in the hood, regardless of where you're at, on arm,
- 18:12and they tell you to put their hands up, and your mind is like, oh, what did I do wrong?
- 18:17Just standing here, and, you know, again, and that individual that,
- 18:21you know, that's being prodded by these police it's like hungry
- 18:24starving their parents you know either
- 18:27they got hurt they can't work something there's always
- 18:30something more than what they tell us and what
- 18:33affects our community but if nobody's standing up and these activists are just
- 18:37not showing up we're going to continue to have that same cycle all over again
- 18:42and then something like sadly the george floyd thing would happen again and
- 18:47again we're going to go to the same cycle it's whether the activists, they,
- 18:52ooh, yeah, yeah, let's do money, boom, let's start this, let's start selling
- 18:56that, let's do fires, let's do boom, boom, boom,
- 18:59and other eye issues will be heard.
- 19:01Well, I hope you enjoy this. We're making it happen. It's the legendary deconstructing topic.
- 19:07Once again, feel free to share, subscribe, hit the like button, comment,
- 19:13make a little bit of donation, a little bit of coffee, a little bit of,
- 19:16you know, a little protein will work, whatever it
- 19:19is let's make it happen because if we
- 19:22gonna fight the fight we also gotta
- 19:24fight activism and fake activism because they
- 19:28both cannot exist at the same time because we just need to go all out and be
- 19:34active on the things that matters the most in our community let's make it happen
- 19:39i'm out of here is your boy the legend deconstructing topic peace i'm out peace.
