- 1:07Speaker 1: see a game in Brazil. Sunday. Every game they're every
- 1:11Speaker 1: slot where it's noon, whether it's three, the Saturday night
- 1:14Speaker 1: football game. It was electric all around.
- 1:16Speaker 2: A lot of great college football games too.
- 1:18Speaker 1: A lot of great college football games too, especially one
- 1:21Speaker 1: in the Lincoln Nebrowns, especially one down in Gainesville, Florida.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah, another one that we'll talk about in Norman, Oaklahomi.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Wondering what are the boys doing in front of my
- 1:34Speaker 2: face on a Monday afternoon? Yeah, because it is right now.
- 1:38Speaker 2: As we record every week when we record our intros
- 1:41Speaker 2: for the bust And episode, you're still getting the bust
- 1:43Speaker 2: and Interview bust An episode tomorrow. Husker fans, you're going
- 1:46Speaker 2: off fucking love it. But we decided the boys, the unit,
- 1:51Speaker 2: the squad here that hey, we're reacting the football games.
- 1:54Speaker 2: They usually don't drop till Tuesdays now that we're in
- 1:56Speaker 2: football seasons. If we knock this out Monday mornings, is
- 1:59Speaker 2: there a world where we can get the football talking,
- 2:01Speaker 2: football reactions and recap out by Monday afternoon the earliest.
- 2:05Speaker 2: What we did is instead of doing like a two
- 2:07Speaker 2: to three hour intro before the interview where we talk
- 2:10Speaker 2: all games. Because we're watching college, we're watching NFL. We're
- 2:12Speaker 2: now carving that out and putting it on Monday afternoons.
- 2:16Speaker 2: So every Monday afternoon, you're gonna be getting Busting with
- 2:19Speaker 2: the Boys our football recap Greg Olsen. Since he came
- 2:22Speaker 2: on the show in the summertime, there's been whispers, there's
- 2:24Speaker 2: been conversations, Hey, will you join us to do our
- 2:27Speaker 2: football weekend recap every Monday, And we will because we
- 2:30Speaker 2: want to follow your youth football team. We want to
- 2:33Speaker 2: follow that aid the kids are most important.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yes, we got to see what Greg Olsens kids are.
- 2:38Speaker 1: And there's rumors about other coaches have texted other guys
- 2:41Speaker 1: are busting with the Boys, saying I played a great
- 2:43Speaker 1: against Greg Olsen's Sun team and my god, what a
- 2:45Speaker 1: juggernaut they got them. Yeah. Yeah, So we're gonna keep
- 2:48Speaker 1: track of them all year long. With their season ends
- 2:50Speaker 1: in October, We're gonna keep track of them all the
- 2:52Speaker 1: way until October.
- 2:53Speaker 2: And I want to hear from the coordinators too. Like
- 2:55Speaker 2: to me, this is not like Luke Keikley. If they
- 2:57Speaker 2: have a bad defensive performance, I need Luke Keikley to
- 3:00Speaker 2: be zoomed in talking about that bad He needs.
- 3:02Speaker 1: To have a conversation and get those salt packets and
- 3:03Speaker 1: the salt and pepper, those little things they do at
- 3:06Speaker 1: the little coffee table. They need to dial that whole
- 3:08Speaker 1: entire thing. Yeah, but big, big weekend for football. I
- 3:11Speaker 1: think it's only best for busting with the boys. We
- 3:13Speaker 1: start quick, we start hard, we start fast, just like
- 3:15Speaker 1: their breast of corner scars. Will Compton, how do you
- 3:17Speaker 1: feel beating Akron sixty eight to zero.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Look, we played a monasory school, and I'm completely aware
- 3:23Speaker 2: of that. But what I personally loved loved to see
- 3:28Speaker 2: is we didn't punt the ball one time. When you
- 3:30Speaker 2: go out there, it gets a.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Week puss with the best punter in all of college football.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Right and his family apparently traveled all the way from
- 3:36Speaker 2: Australia to watch him, and he didn't even get to
- 3:37Speaker 2: showcase that leg a little bit.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I know they gotta be staying for a few
- 3:43Speaker 1: weeks though, Right Bust got a guy to stay for them.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I think they are in town for like the first
- 3:47Speaker 3: three games.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Correct, that's crazy. I don't know the biggest that would
- 3:51Speaker 2: be great. Hopefully it just wasn't a weekend trip from Australia,
- 3:54Speaker 2: I hope. Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Eighteen hours ago watch your sun stand on the sidelines.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he got a He got a pop too when
- 4:01Speaker 2: his name got introduced pregame, he got a pop from
- 4:03Speaker 2: the crowd.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And I also love the fact that punters are getting
- 4:07Speaker 1: introduced at a game.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You bring that back. Normalize that, Yeah, normalize that, And
- 4:11Speaker 2: that's a great call. G We got to get his
- 4:12Speaker 2: family if they're in town. We got to get him
- 4:14Speaker 2: to the last ye on September ninethe bring him out
- 4:15Speaker 2: there the Rococo Theater again. Bust and Bowls coming Nebraska
- 4:20Speaker 2: versus Michigan in Lincoln, Nebraska. September nineteenth is a Friday,
- 4:23Speaker 2: and we are doing a live show at the Rococo
- 4:25Speaker 2: Theater in Lincoln. Go to bwtv dot com the secure
- 4:29Speaker 2: your slot. I don't know where tickets are. I know
- 4:30Speaker 2: they're selling fast. We might be out who knows. I
- 4:32Speaker 2: don't know, but it's gonna be rocking. We're doing a
- 4:34Speaker 2: tailgate the next morning, September twentieth. We'll go ahead and
- 4:37Speaker 2: get all that promo all the way. The boys will
- 4:39Speaker 2: be tailgating September twentieth in the morning at what's that location.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It's like the Haymarket, Haymarket Park. We will be at
- 4:48Speaker 2: a Haymarket Park. Tailgating rises up before that game. But yeah, dude,
- 4:53Speaker 2: what I loved about the Huskers is, you know, as
- 4:55Speaker 2: a staff and as a team, if you're playing a
- 4:57Speaker 2: bad football team, a little small school from the MAC
- 5:00Speaker 2: it's coming in to play, you guys, you want to
- 5:02Speaker 2: see execution. Well, defensively, you want to see a goose
- 5:05Speaker 2: egg on that school.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Offensively you want to you want to score every drive.
- 5:09Speaker 2: We had thirty one first downs, thirty one first downs
- 5:12Speaker 2: over seven hundred yards of total offense. We didn't punt
- 5:15Speaker 2: the ball one time. Emma Johnson's running through people. Ten
- 5:19Speaker 2: different receivers are catching the football, the backup quarterbacks getting touchdowns. Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 2: Dylan Rails throwing it for about what Dylan throw three hundred.
- 5:25Speaker 1: And sixty four yards and four touchdowns.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Will three hundred and sixty four yards in four touchdowns.
- 5:30Speaker 2: And the offense put up a goose egg, all right,
- 5:33Speaker 2: the defense put up a goose agg.
- 5:35Speaker 1: This is what I liked about that game. When we
- 5:36Speaker 1: went to Kansas City and we watched them play against
- 5:38Speaker 1: the Cincinnati Bearcats. Shiran brought this up and it was
- 5:41Speaker 1: a great point. Nebraska Cornusters should have beat the Cincinnati
- 5:44Speaker 1: Bearcats by two touchdowns. You walk around, it seems like
- 5:46Speaker 1: a very conservative game plan, especially on the offensive side
- 5:48Speaker 1: of the ball, like, hey, let's do our best not
- 5:50Speaker 1: to lose this game. You feel like, buttholes were a
- 5:52Speaker 1: little tight when we're in Kansas City. From a Nebraska standpoint,
- 5:55Speaker 1: they go in and this week, yes it's accurate, Yes
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's the monastery school, the School of the Deaf and
- 5:59Speaker 1: the blind. But it's like, let's open rala up, let's
- 6:02Speaker 1: show what we got at running back. Let's put our
- 6:04Speaker 1: big uglies on the line of scrimmage and watch him
- 6:06Speaker 1: move the line of scrimmage. And they did that every
- 6:08Speaker 1: single drive. And that was something. If you're a nebrassa
- 6:11Speaker 1: Cornishers fan, you got to be very excited to be like, Okay,
- 6:14Speaker 1: this is the offense and you're not gonna expect, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 1: sixty eight points every single game. But you know the
- 6:19Speaker 1: guys have it. You know they have the operation. You know,
- 6:20Speaker 1: Rayola is the guy you hope, you hoped he was
- 6:22Speaker 1: gonna be this Emmit Johnson kid. I know he was
- 6:24Speaker 1: good last year, but it takes more than one guy
- 6:26Speaker 1: to take him down. And the Black Shirts obviously putting
- 6:29Speaker 1: a goose egg on the on the board is unbelievable.
- 6:32Speaker 1: They love to see.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Yeah, the weeks after the week after two during all
- 6:36Speaker 2: the pressers, it's like, when you come out of that
- 6:37Speaker 2: since the game, I wish you would have opened it up.
- 6:39Speaker 2: You're saying, Dylan executed that game plan to perfection.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I love that. Holgerson, Baby, Holgerson, Holgerson.
- 6:46Speaker 2: You see him putting lips in in the middle of
- 6:47Speaker 2: the game.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a bro. DYLI he does a bro.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Did Dylan put up that tight end to proposing to
- 6:54Speaker 5: his girlfriend similar to Travis Kelsey proposing?
- 6:59Speaker 2: I did see that. I did see that, Like buddy, Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 2: like Raila is trying to become Patrick Mahomes because you
- 7:05Speaker 2: see the tight end they get engaged.
- 7:08Speaker 3: You can't.
- 7:09Speaker 1: When you saw Patrick Mahomes lower his shoulder on twenty
- 7:12Speaker 1: three for the Chargers, I think everybody in their mother thought, Nebraska,
- 7:15Speaker 1: he's gonna be running out of bounds and he's gonna
- 7:17Speaker 1: lower the shoulder on somebody. He's gonna truck somebody, and
- 7:20Speaker 1: it's just gonna be like, here we fucking go again.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I think his stats look nice. Stats, he look fucking nice.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I'm talking nice enough to potentially in the near future
- 7:32Speaker 2: be in that Heisman conversation. Not right now, right, I'm
- 7:35Speaker 2: gonna say that right now, right, but but numbers are there.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Keep your eye on.
- 7:39Speaker 2: It, keep your eye on it, keep your finger on
- 7:42Speaker 2: that pulse.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You want to be the guy that said Will Compton
- 7:45Speaker 1: reported it first, that's what you want. Just like the
- 7:48Speaker 1: guy who reported arch Manning being hurt first was not
- 7:52Speaker 1: the mainstream media. It was Jeremy Clump. Jeremy Clump, what
- 7:56Speaker 1: was it before week one?
- 7:57Speaker 3: Right right at the start of week one, when he's one,
- 8:00Speaker 3: I saw him moving his shoulder.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Moving his shoulder. Popped over a little text said, hey,
- 8:04Speaker 1: watch out for arch maning shoulder. It seems like he's
- 8:05Speaker 1: got a little something going on. During the game against
- 8:07Speaker 1: Ohio State, holding the ball for a long time, a
- 8:09Speaker 1: lot of those passes were dirted, seem a little bit inaccurate.
- 8:12Speaker 1: He's throwing mechanics seeming a little bit off. He goes in,
- 8:15Speaker 1: he has a game he does against you know another
- 8:17Speaker 1: monasory school four touchdowns. But buddy, there's a video and
- 8:21Speaker 1: I hope we get it up on this Monday breakdown
- 8:23Speaker 1: of him throwing a pass and you see his face.
- 8:26Speaker 1: There's no joy in that face. Win, the wincing, the grimacing,
- 8:30Speaker 1: the grimacing in his face when he's throwing that football.
- 8:33Speaker 1: You could tell something's up with that poor bastard. I
- 8:35Speaker 1: feel bad for for arch Manning right now.
- 8:38Speaker 6: And it's a bad throw too, which is more concerned
- 8:40Speaker 6: is impacting him throwing right?
- 8:42Speaker 1: And if you're right, and if you're taking the optimism approach,
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's like, oh, arch Manning really is a generational quarterback.
- 8:50Speaker 1: He's just hurt right now. That's the optimism approach you're
- 8:53Speaker 1: going to take. How do we get him healthy? That's
- 8:54Speaker 1: a whole nother thing. Now we get a little pessimistic,
- 8:56Speaker 1: but optimism wise, it's like, oh, we would a beatle
- 8:59Speaker 1: HOWK State, but he was hurt. Yeah, that's that. That's
- 9:02Speaker 1: a whole look on that.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I have I have a I have a question go
- 9:06Speaker 2: ahead for JP South Carolina game Cocks. Yeah, talk to
- 9:10Speaker 2: me about that game. I didn't watch it. It was
- 9:11Speaker 2: a little close in the first After h I'm like,
- 9:13Speaker 2: what's the South Carolina State against South Carolina State one.
- 9:17Speaker 5: South Carolina State is a team that you want to
- 9:19Speaker 5: grab guys from the portal from because they got a
- 9:22Speaker 5: lot of like they always have this like one receiver
- 9:24Speaker 5: that's six four two twenty five. They just have bad
- 9:27Speaker 5: grades in high school. So he ends up there and
- 9:29Speaker 5: he's a stud. But the old line played bad and
- 9:33Speaker 5: then the rain delay, I think, not that you ever
- 9:36Speaker 5: want to make an excuse, but the game start at
- 9:38Speaker 5: like nine thirty pm, which is just a long day
- 9:41Speaker 5: for anyone. Horrible conditions. Guys are getting hurt.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Left the LAS suck period period.
- 9:45Speaker 5: So then to start that late is like nothing good
- 9:49Speaker 5: was ever going to happen except for Vicari Sway, the
- 9:51Speaker 5: guy who returned upont last last week returned to this.
- 9:56Speaker 2: But we got it.
- 9:57Speaker 5: We got to clean up the O line. The old
- 9:58Speaker 5: line is the number one issue.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Are you concerned and worried about the old line because
- 10:03Speaker 2: they had some free runners against Virginia Tech. You're talking
- 10:05Speaker 2: about the old line in South Carolina State when they
- 10:08Speaker 2: get into these bigger I mean, you got Vane your
- 10:10Speaker 2: hosting Vandy this weekend, Like, are you concerned about where
- 10:13Speaker 2: the offensive line is at.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Definitely, But I think I would be more concerned with
- 10:17Speaker 5: the offensive like play calling, because if you have a
- 10:21Speaker 5: bad old line, there are ways to scheme around having
- 10:24Speaker 5: a bad old line, and we have you have a
- 10:26Speaker 5: quarterback that you can scheme around it with. And that's
- 10:28Speaker 5: been another frustration is like you're kind of it seems
- 10:32Speaker 5: like we're forcing Sellers a little bit to be a
- 10:34Speaker 5: pocket passer when it's like he's Cam Newton type, so
- 10:39Speaker 5: like we need to be kind of getting him outside
- 10:42Speaker 5: moving around instead of like making a bunch of reads
- 10:45Speaker 5: and all that stuff.
- 10:46Speaker 1: So yeah, it's it's but I'm not worried about this game.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Is a game this week in South Carolina.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be a great game.
- 10:53Speaker 1: And you've got a Juggernaut coming at you because it's
- 10:55Speaker 1: see I mean.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Juggernauts a little heavy.
- 10:58Speaker 1: However, Vanderbelt was down twenty to ten and they end
- 11:01Speaker 1: up coming back and scoring by beating by multiple touchdowns
- 11:04Speaker 1: like Pavia the boys.
- 11:07Speaker 2: This is gonna be It's gonna be an awesome game.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I'm excited about this one. And you know night game
- 11:13Speaker 2: which plays into our favorite.
- 11:14Speaker 1: It does because the Sandstorm playing South Carolina, those fans
- 11:17Speaker 1: go so hard. We got to win the city again.
- 11:18Speaker 5: And we play. We do like fall to the level
- 11:21Speaker 5: of our competition. We rise to the level of the competition.
- 11:23Speaker 5: We're up and down team. So I think at night
- 11:27Speaker 5: under the lights that Willie be Sellers might have a
- 11:30Speaker 5: little little hot Heisman moment game.
- 11:34Speaker 3: I texted Caid today.
- 11:35Speaker 5: I says, Kate McConnell hate week, but it's all love.
- 11:38Speaker 5: But I hope, I hope Cade crushes it like I
- 11:42Speaker 5: want him. I told him, I said, do it. He's like,
- 11:44Speaker 5: you know, actually, I won't say this, but I told
- 11:46Speaker 5: him it's gonna be a great game too for him
- 11:48Speaker 5: to get tape out for like NFL stuff, because teams
- 11:51Speaker 5: watch Dylan Stewart every week, and not that he's gonna
- 11:54Speaker 5: be matched up on Dylan Stewart, but but guys will
- 11:56Speaker 5: be watching and if he can hold down and.
- 11:58Speaker 2: They got that transferred dtackle though from Bama correct who's
- 12:01Speaker 2: a pretty wine. Yeah yeah, you hear that facetimed in
- 12:07Speaker 2: on Saturday after the game. Yeah, and the whole locker room.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Yeah, nuts were out there. Yeah, when we were streaming
- 12:16Speaker 1: that god forsaking game quick, hey.
- 12:19Speaker 2: But on the stream though, shout out everybody showing up
- 12:21Speaker 2: to the stream. Yeah, everybody tuning in. We did our
- 12:24Speaker 2: first Thursday night football stream. We will be streaming every
- 12:26Speaker 2: Thursday night football game except for like one or two.
- 12:28Speaker 2: It might be like during the holidays.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Christmas and Thanksgiving.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and the college ones will be spotty. I know
- 12:35Speaker 2: there's there's five to deliver. College ones will be spotty,
- 12:38Speaker 2: so that won't be like every Saturday. But shott everybody
- 12:40Speaker 2: showing up in the showing out for the bust and stream.
- 12:43Speaker 1: It feels like the next one we're going to stream
- 12:44Speaker 1: from college football is gonna be Penn State Oregon night
- 12:47Speaker 1: game wide out in Penn State. So that'll be then.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I think that's the next stream that's kind of on
- 12:51Speaker 1: the horizon. Just a quick blip, just want to put
- 12:53Speaker 1: this out there. Iowa State, if you watch the locker
- 12:56Speaker 1: room with Josh Pate, I believe did you take Iowa
- 12:58Speaker 1: State or Iowa?
- 12:59Speaker 2: I took Iowa to covered Okay, so I think you.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Later in the week you won because they end up
- 13:04Speaker 1: going three and a half. Yeah, they end up covering
- 13:06Speaker 1: when we were talking about in the locker room. But
- 13:08Speaker 1: Roc Go backed Boys, Rock Go.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Becked Hey, what I say. They're up to something. They
- 13:12Speaker 2: go through.
- 13:13Speaker 1: He said it. They reported first from will Compton, Rocobeck
- 13:18Speaker 1: and Iowa State. They look kind of nice Gronowski. Gronowski
- 13:22Speaker 1: for Iowa with one hundred and twenty four yards and
- 13:24Speaker 1: two games just in Iowa. Hey, defensive squad, baby, That.
- 13:28Speaker 2: To me is the biggest thing coming out of that game,
- 13:31Speaker 2: just the first couple of weeks with Iowa. Again Iowa,
- 13:36Speaker 2: you laugh about it, but they posted this five yard
- 13:38Speaker 2: out route where he's got you know, those a little
- 13:40Speaker 2: dime on the five yard out and it's like, fellas,
- 13:42Speaker 2: we have a quarterback or Iowa has a quarterback.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks at the passing game or something.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And over two weeks now they have like nobody like
- 13:49Speaker 2: they've played i awowys State. It's a good football team.
- 13:52Speaker 2: But for him to have statistically the lowest passing yards
- 13:56Speaker 2: of any Big ten quarterback of all time and for
- 13:59Speaker 2: it to be at i is, to me, that's the
- 14:02Speaker 2: big thing they're always gonna be. I was just gonna
- 14:05Speaker 2: be fucking Iowa, bro, Like they're gonna get you tough wins.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Are gonna win about eight to ten games, depending on schedule.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Seven to ten games depending on schedule. But they're never
- 14:14Speaker 2: gonna be there's never gonna be optimism for a playoff
- 14:18Speaker 2: run year at Iowa, at the Iowa, at Iowa, Iowa. Ever,
- 14:25Speaker 2: do you know what I'm saying. They just got that,
- 14:26Speaker 2: they just got this feel that they're just never gonna
- 14:30Speaker 2: be that contending team. Yeah, like an a contender in
- 14:33Speaker 2: the Big Ten.
- 14:34Speaker 1: No, they're always gonna be a team that gets a
- 14:37Speaker 1: couple in the Big Ten. They're gonna every an off
- 14:40Speaker 1: year in the Big Ten, they're gonna sneak into that
- 14:41Speaker 1: Big Ten championship. I mean, you get dumbed by the
- 14:44Speaker 1: superior team like Kirk Farancy's been there for what three decades?
- 14:48Speaker 1: Three decades, three decades, and it's like, give them the statue,
- 14:51Speaker 1: give them all the things. But it's like, buddy, how
- 14:54Speaker 1: do you create the forward pass at Iowa? How do
- 14:58Speaker 1: you create it? Because it just seems like no matter
- 15:00Speaker 1: what you do, you could you could go and uh,
- 15:03Speaker 1: get Garrett Nesmyer, take them over from LSU, you bring
- 15:06Speaker 1: him in to Iowa and the kids all of a sudden,
- 15:07Speaker 1: give me be a running quarterback.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they're they're Cleveland. It's where quarterbacks go to die.
- 15:11Speaker 1: It's where quarterbacks go to die. It's also where just beefy,
- 15:15Speaker 1: mullet ridden mustache having offensive all big ten offensive lineman
- 15:19Speaker 1: go to have spicy careers.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Yeah, fit Nebraska needs to get over which huh Iowa.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Yeah, But if you're.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Away, we got to handle our business right. We absolutely
- 15:31Speaker 2: got to beat i As.
- 15:31Speaker 5: We get set up here, talk all this crazy stuff
- 15:33Speaker 5: about them.
- 15:34Speaker 2: But if that's the thing, what does And so I'm
- 15:37Speaker 2: trying to do my job as a media journalist and
- 15:40Speaker 2: cover everybody unbiasedly. That's the feel I get from Iowa.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I was never gonna come out of the off season
- 15:45Speaker 2: feel like they're gonna win the national title like the
- 15:47Speaker 2: Cornhuskers doing Lincoln. They don't got that about them. We
- 15:51Speaker 2: got the light shows in the fourth quarter, lights going off,
- 15:53Speaker 2: just just being proud of your football team in such
- 15:57Speaker 2: a way that we got a real shot this year.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I never gonna feel that way they might own us
- 16:02Speaker 2: in the last decade. As far as Huskers versus iowall goes,
- 16:05Speaker 2: we will we will handle that ass this year. But
- 16:07Speaker 2: that's my overall general consensus of the Iowa haw guys.
- 16:10Speaker 2: They don't they will never feel the way we get
- 16:12Speaker 2: to feel optimistically even on the bad year's jap. Now,
- 16:16Speaker 2: with Dana Holgerson on the sideline, Well.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Said, update, Iowa is eight and two against Nebraska in
- 16:25Speaker 1: the last.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I said they own us in the last decade. I
- 16:29Speaker 2: will say that.
- 16:30Speaker 1: If Nebraska, Yeah, it might be impossible for Nebraska to
- 16:34Speaker 1: go and defeated with Iowa on the schedule, it might
- 16:36Speaker 1: be impossible. But hey, gotta be really excited about Nebraska.
- 16:41Speaker 1: We did a hashtag tear talk, the questions, concerns, all
- 16:45Speaker 1: the things, and I feel like that's a good bleeding
- 16:46Speaker 1: into the next game. Duck at drunk Duck co said
- 16:52Speaker 1: true or false, Taylor is beginning to feel uneasy about
- 16:55Speaker 1: the bust and bowl hashtag tear talk. Now, for those
- 16:58Speaker 1: of you who want to be a part of the
- 16:59Speaker 1: convers on Mondays, you just put a tweet out question,
- 17:01Speaker 1: comic concern, put hashtag tear talk. We will get to
- 17:05Speaker 1: you and we'll have that open conversation. My concern is
- 17:09Speaker 1: not about the Nebraska Cornhuskers. My concern is the game
- 17:14Speaker 1: plan that took place in Norman, Oklahoma. The gate is
- 17:17Speaker 1: the whole thing for Bryce Underwood and the entire media
- 17:21Speaker 1: of Michigan going down to Oklahoma was We're gonna find
- 17:25Speaker 1: out who we have in Bryce Underwood whin this game
- 17:27Speaker 1: when this game's all over. Unfortunately, we still don't know
- 17:30Speaker 1: what we have in Bryce Underwood. That game, to me,
- 17:33Speaker 1: it was a vanilla play calling, so run heavy, which
- 17:36Speaker 1: I love that because it's like Michigan is going to
- 17:39Speaker 1: be a tough and gritty football team that's going to
- 17:42Speaker 1: grind you out over and over and over again. We
- 17:44Speaker 1: sustained a shitload of injuries. They hide this injury from
- 17:47Speaker 1: the tight end kline who was in a who was
- 17:49Speaker 1: kind of practicing before trying out the ankle ends up
- 17:51Speaker 1: being in a boot. Bryce Unoverood ends up going eight
- 17:54Speaker 1: for twenty one for one hundred and sixty one hundred
- 17:56Speaker 1: and forty two yards in negative one rushing yard. I
- 17:59Speaker 1: didn't love the game plan. I don't think the game
- 18:01Speaker 1: plan put Bryce Underwood in a position to be successful
- 18:04Speaker 1: by the time you know, you feel Oklahoma was kind
- 18:07Speaker 1: of like the Bills the Bills Ravens games, except for
- 18:11Speaker 1: the outcome. Was you watched the Ravens the whole game,
- 18:13Speaker 1: You're like, oh, they're in control of this game the
- 18:15Speaker 1: entire time. It was that feeling to me with Oklahoma
- 18:17Speaker 1: was John Matier is as advertised, he is a dog.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Not only is he a dog on the field, I
- 18:24Speaker 1: guarantee that boy, he's going crazy off the Field's crazy,
- 18:27Speaker 1: the flow, the moxie, the aura, the kids got absolutely
- 18:31Speaker 1: everything going from He can die up that kid, Dion
- 18:33Speaker 1: Burke's number four from Oklahoma, he's an absolute stud. I
- 18:36Speaker 1: think they had he. I mean John Mateer put it,
- 18:39Speaker 1: put it right into a cover two zone, right on
- 18:41Speaker 1: the edge, and and uh that Burke's kid.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Brought it in. I know where John Matier won me over.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Tell me after the game when he's doing a postgame
- 18:49Speaker 2: presser and he's talking about number one, he gives credit
- 18:54Speaker 2: everywhere else, but he shouted out the fan base because
- 18:57Speaker 2: he's like, there's a couple bad moments that we had
- 19:00Speaker 2: and coming back out there on the field and you
- 19:01Speaker 2: guys cheering us on and everything else, we really appreciate it.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And I'm fired up that you guys came out, you're
- 19:07Speaker 2: supporting me the way you are and everything else. That
- 19:09Speaker 2: that tickled to pickle with John Mattier.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he seems like he's seems like he's checked off
- 19:15Speaker 1: all the boxes. And I'll say this about Michigan. We
- 19:18Speaker 1: can't that game plan can't happen. We I mean, it
- 19:21Speaker 1: is what it is. You want to be as as
- 19:23Speaker 1: positive as you can with the team that you love.
- 19:25Speaker 1: But it's it felt as though that game was being
- 19:27Speaker 1: played not to be embarrassed. Dave Portnoy said that, and
- 19:30Speaker 1: I completely agree with it, Like he played that game
- 19:32Speaker 1: not to get embarrassed, because you felt like you were
- 19:34Speaker 1: a little, you know, maybe overwhelmed in a talent category.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:38Speaker 1: I didn't get to wash the receivers. It seemed like
- 19:41Speaker 1: Bryce had time. But I think Brent Vinna Balls did
- 19:43Speaker 1: an amazing job on the defensive side of the ball,
- 19:45Speaker 1: confusing bringing seven, showing seven, dropping three like he did
- 19:50Speaker 1: a great He had a great game plan to confuse
- 19:52Speaker 1: a young quarterback. But at the end of the day,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I don't feel like there was a lot of we
- 19:57Speaker 1: want to take over this game. And you see a
- 19:59Speaker 1: multiple times on third and six you're running the ball
- 20:02Speaker 1: right up the middle, and so that that to me
- 20:04Speaker 1: is disappointing. Now take this game against I believe it's
- 20:07Speaker 1: Central Michigan. Let's show what we can show. Let's let's
- 20:10Speaker 1: get the pieces going. Let's get some guys healthy because
- 20:13Speaker 1: we get a big one in two weeks. If I'm
- 20:15Speaker 1: sitting in Will Compton's position right now, I'm very excited
- 20:18Speaker 1: about the Nebraska Cornhusters against the Michigan Wolverines. But at
- 20:21Speaker 1: the end of the day, man.
- 20:23Speaker 5: What'd you make of Bryce's There are obviously people are
- 20:26Speaker 5: blowing it up. But when he was yelling at that kid.
- 20:28Speaker 1: That Hayes, Yeah, it's kind of loved it. I kind
- 20:33Speaker 1: of loved it because this kid's eighteen years old and
- 20:36Speaker 1: nineteen days or twenty days whatever it is at this point,
- 20:38Speaker 1: like he just turned eighteen years old and he's getting
- 20:40Speaker 1: on guys about where they need to be. You can
- 20:43Speaker 1: tell one thing I liked about Bryce's He didn't seem
- 20:46Speaker 1: overwhelmed from play calling from the noise. He seemed like
- 20:49Speaker 1: he had poised the entire game, even though his stat
- 20:51Speaker 1: line didn't show that. But boys like, you're gonna get
- 20:54Speaker 1: your ass beat with that type of game plan. You're
- 20:56Speaker 1: gonna get your ass beat when you're running run on
- 20:58Speaker 1: third and six, or it's you know, third and twelve
- 21:00Speaker 1: and you're throwing a bubble and we have we have
- 21:02Speaker 1: missed assignments on the blocking and the perimeter. It's just
- 21:05Speaker 1: it's tough and so there's some injuries. Now they got
- 21:08Speaker 1: to get it figured out. But I am feeling cautiously
- 21:11Speaker 1: optimistic about the buzz and ball. Definitely don't feel as
- 21:13Speaker 1: good as I did last week, but I feel like,
- 21:15Speaker 1: as from a Michigan standpoint, we're gonna show me, don't
- 21:17Speaker 1: tell me situation when it comes to calling the games.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that being an eleven point game and felt way
- 21:23Speaker 2: the margin was much larger And what were you guys?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Were you guys plus two in turnovers? I can't remember.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I know Oklahoma turned it over a couple of times
- 21:35Speaker 2: and opportunities that you guys had. It's like running the
- 21:37Speaker 2: ball on third and six, right like.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Like the defense wild John Mattier had a day. Don't
- 21:42Speaker 1: don't get twisted. Good quarterbacks are going to do well
- 21:44Speaker 1: against defenses.
- 21:45Speaker 2: But they did great.
- 21:46Speaker 1: From the twenty to the twenty. I thought the Michigan
- 21:49Speaker 1: defense did an amazing job and the times they gave
- 21:52Speaker 1: up points was a reflection of how the offense couldn't
- 21:55Speaker 1: get couldn't stay on the field and sustain drives. You
- 21:58Speaker 1: go three and out, three and out three and out events.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Your your defense is going to get tired. You're putting
- 22:02Speaker 1: them in a very bad position that way. So it's
- 22:04Speaker 1: got to be you got to play more complimentary football,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and we got to show a level of life back
- 22:10Speaker 1: home in the big House against Central Michigan, which I
- 22:12Speaker 1: hope to god I'm saying that right at Central Michigan.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But to answer the question by drunk duckco, I'm a
- 22:19Speaker 1: little yeah. Heart rate's a little little more elevated than
- 22:22Speaker 1: how I was talking last week.
- 22:25Speaker 2: You yeah, you should. There should still be optimism there.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I reached out to our partners over at fan Duel
- 22:29Speaker 2: got the lines what they would be if they were
- 22:32Speaker 2: to give us a line on the brask on the
- 22:34Speaker 2: bust and Bowl. Right now, Michigan is favored by three
- 22:36Speaker 2: and a half on a neutral field. They're favored by
- 22:38Speaker 2: six and a half over under on that game right
- 22:40Speaker 2: now again, right now, forty five and a half.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You got, I mean, Barry, our corner got hurt. We
- 22:47Speaker 1: had a safety get hurt. We had our left guard
- 22:49Speaker 1: who was a captain, El hadid he got hurt. A
- 22:53Speaker 1: Klein was hurt. I mean, buddy, it was homage Morgan.
- 22:56Speaker 1: He gets hit late that should have been a penalty,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and he ends up. He didn't seem like himself after
- 23:00Speaker 1: he got hit. Yeah, it's tough, man. It's tough onward though,
- 23:05Speaker 1: because we got a lot of stuff to cover.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Arizona State upset by Mississippi State. For the love of God,
- 23:11Speaker 2: I listen say it. I would have to go back
- 23:13Speaker 2: and look and watch. But I was doing the same
- 23:15Speaker 2: thing when I saw this against Texas last year in
- 23:17Speaker 2: the College Football Playoffs. But that last drive by Arizona
- 23:20Speaker 2: State's defense, the play that Mississippi State scored on, there
- 23:24Speaker 2: was nobody in the back end. I'm pretty sure they
- 23:26Speaker 2: ran a cover zero or a simulated cover zero on
- 23:31Speaker 2: that play when they got scored on. And if you
- 23:32Speaker 2: go back to the tape against Texas and the College
- 23:34Speaker 2: Football Playoff last year, when Texas scored on that in
- 23:37Speaker 2: ot they were in a simulated esque cover zero as well,
- 23:41Speaker 2: And it's kind of like it's cover zero and it
- 23:43Speaker 2: seems like the dbs are playing some type of zone
- 23:45Speaker 2: where they're thinking somebody's gonna pass somebody off. I have
- 23:49Speaker 2: no clue. I don't know. Love Dilly, love dilly, but
- 23:53Speaker 2: I don't know. That's one where I'm like, what what
- 23:57Speaker 2: is Arizona State doing?
- 23:59Speaker 1: Yeah, because they should have walked away from that game
- 24:01Speaker 1: winning winning. They were down was it seventeen zero or
- 24:05Speaker 1: fourteen zero something something like that, and Dilley Hampson and
- 24:08Speaker 1: his coach game press conference like we're one or two
- 24:10Speaker 1: plays away from be like what an amazing comeback. It
- 24:13Speaker 1: was traveling across the country against Mississippi State and the
- 24:15Speaker 1: Bulldogs like that is shit that gets you beat it
- 24:19Speaker 1: beat you in the playoffs. You should have beat Texas
- 24:21Speaker 1: to the playoffs, and now you do the same shit
- 24:23Speaker 1: again against an inferior opponent.
- 24:25Speaker 5: And last year when they played, the game went to overtime,
- 24:28Speaker 5: so it's not like Delly didn't have anything to pull
- 24:31Speaker 5: from either going into the week. I'm like, guys, this
- 24:33Speaker 5: is a regardless of their record, Like they know how
- 24:35Speaker 5: to play ball.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Mississippi State and ASU, Yeah they went to overtime last year. Yeah,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I thought they smacked them.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I know, damn that was Yeah, it blew my mind.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I loved the optimism. I loved the approach on coming over.
- 24:48Speaker 2: We're one two plays away from almost having a huge
- 24:50Speaker 2: comeback win going across the country. To me, this has
- 24:53Speaker 2: nothing to do with the kid with the boys out there,
- 24:55Speaker 2: with the kids out there. This is we're sitting in
- 24:57Speaker 2: the film room, and it's like, why are we doing
- 24:59Speaker 2: this right?
- 25:00Speaker 1: Right? Because you've got pieces, You got pieces, you got pieces.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Even if we know, even if you don't have the pieces,
- 25:06Speaker 2: you don't run that play.
- 25:07Speaker 1: You don't run that play.
- 25:08Speaker 2: You have the pieces, you don't run the play. You
- 25:10Speaker 2: don't have the pieces, you for sure don't run that play.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Either way, don't fucking run that play. Run Gainesville, Florida.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Jack McPherson, when we were on the stream, he was
- 25:19Speaker 1: doing the Gator chop. Florida upset by USF eighteen sixteen
- 25:25Speaker 1: last week. In the locker room, I said that they
- 25:27Speaker 1: were going to get Bonnie Blue swallowed by the Florida defense.
- 25:31Speaker 1: That was not the case. Florida Gators. Billy Napier, He's
- 25:35Speaker 1: on the hot seat more than ever. Jack, how we.
- 25:37Speaker 7: See it feel great, especially if the ball is going
- 25:39Speaker 7: into game day against Georgia, we have an opportunity to
- 25:42Speaker 7: really push a narrative for Tennessee football. So typically in
- 25:46Speaker 7: the passes the first year we played Georgia in Week three,
- 25:48Speaker 7: we typically would be playing Florida this week. So honestly
- 25:51Speaker 7: amazing time for us to flip the schedule, because the
- 25:54Speaker 7: last thing you want to be playing is Florida after
- 25:56Speaker 7: losing to USFBT. They are not a bad football team
- 25:59Speaker 7: by any means. Talk about ship that gets you beat.
- 26:01Speaker 7: What a absolute dumb fucking idiot that lineman was for
- 26:06Speaker 7: spitting in the guy's face when the game is on
- 26:08Speaker 7: the line.
- 26:08Speaker 8: It's like, do you.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Care after days after Jalen Carter? Do you care forty
- 26:13Speaker 1: eight hours after?
- 26:14Speaker 8: And that's Florida and Georgia for you.
- 26:15Speaker 7: Just scumbag mentality easy?
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill, Georgia Bulldog's friends at the show. Yeah, Georgia Bulldogs.
- 26:26Speaker 1: They let us into their facility. Georgie, Georgia.
- 26:33Speaker 2: It's Georgia.
- 26:33Speaker 7: But yeah, BILLI Napier absolutely is one bad game away
- 26:36Speaker 7: from walking home from a from a game.
- 26:39Speaker 8: Yeah, it's very close to ye.
- 26:44Speaker 7: And they played Miami this They beat Miami and beat
- 26:47Speaker 7: Florida and Miami. They are the well that you have
- 26:50Speaker 7: f sgu obviously they are right now that Florida State.
- 26:53Speaker 2: I'm starting to get to a spot on I'm like,
- 26:55Speaker 2: we got to flip the script.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Florida might be winning the A if you can get
- 27:00Speaker 1: the Costanello, if you can get him Thomas Castonell, if
- 27:03Speaker 1: you if he stays healthy all year long, we got something. Hey,
- 27:07Speaker 1: they might be onto something.
- 27:08Speaker 8: Honestly, a lot of fun programs in Florida right now. Florida.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Florida's got a lot of the university.
- 27:16Speaker 7: It'll be uh if USF can pull this off. USF
- 27:20Speaker 7: is a very good football team.
- 27:21Speaker 8: I don't know what's.
- 27:22Speaker 7: Gonna happen, but they might get it's going into Miami.
- 27:26Speaker 7: That's a tough way to play.
- 27:27Speaker 8: I don't know. It's gonna be fun, though.
- 27:29Speaker 1: And it looked good. He looked good against Notre Dame.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, how about the how about the boy Landing
- 27:35Speaker 2: just putting it in lash Lash?
- 27:39Speaker 1: You knew, you knew it was over when Oklahoma State,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I believe Poop said this was their quarterback broke his foot.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I mean the moment that happened, you just thought, yeah,
- 27:50Speaker 1: the Ducks are about to put sixty on them. I mean,
- 27:54Speaker 1: Dan Landing the day the night, the night before Friday night,
- 27:58Speaker 1: around eleven pm Central Time, sends me a video of him,
- 28:02Speaker 1: him and Eugene Oregon in his Bronco top down with
- 28:05Speaker 1: Bruce Springsteen playing and you just know, hey, Landing's got
- 28:09Speaker 1: the juice right now, he's the juice.
- 28:12Speaker 2: And again it's like Oklahoma State, say, might not be
- 28:15Speaker 2: a good football team, Like it's Oklahoma State, like they're
- 28:17Speaker 2: in the Big twelve, Like they mopped them the way
- 28:19Speaker 2: Nebraska did. Akron Oregon making Orgon Oklahoma State look like that.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it is crazy, no doubt about it. Monitors, now off.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Who's their quarterback? Who's Oregon Dante Moore looks good? Yea,
- 28:35Speaker 2: they got they got they got talent out there.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Coreyan Moore, five star. Yeah, he's a stun The Oregon
- 28:44Speaker 1: Ducks Orgon Ducks seem like they've got a little something going.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Julian Sam going fifteen for fifteen to start
- 28:52Speaker 1: his game off, Like Ohio State, would you know what?
- 28:55Speaker 1: They're good again, that's just what happens, man. That's a
- 28:58Speaker 1: that's a good ball club. Can to State. On the
- 29:00Speaker 1: other hand, no good A.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I mean this panic mode.
- 29:06Speaker 1: It's you gotta be army painting like salut our troops.
- 29:11Speaker 1: We love him, thank you for giving us free. But
- 29:13Speaker 1: my god, you've got to figure it out in Kansas State.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's full panic button out there in Kansas.
- 29:19Speaker 1: State, full pantic button Alabama, big big bounce back g
- 29:23Speaker 1: against u El Monroe. I think who was that number five?
- 29:26Speaker 1: He had three touchdowns.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Uh, the third got called back unfortunately, but Jeremy Bernard,
- 29:30Speaker 2: yeah yeah, put a c on his chest.
- 29:33Speaker 1: My god, look good out of the pocket. The landy
- 29:36Speaker 1: Walker was giving you a little hell on that. He
- 29:37Speaker 1: came out of pocket.
- 29:38Speaker 8: Put a color.
- 29:40Speaker 1: But Lenny knows how to play.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Sometimes he just wants to say stuff, and then he'll
- 29:45Speaker 2: see the tape and then he gave.
- 29:48Speaker 1: You want to reflect on Delaney wanting to say stuff.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Look look back at the stream when he's giving us
- 29:51Speaker 1: a pump up speech. He telling us all to do
- 29:54Speaker 1: our job. When we're sitting in a room.
- 29:55Speaker 2: I mean, you got to do your job.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you do your job, You do your job. I'm
- 30:02Speaker 1: thinking of myself, bro. Yeah, yeah, we're playing, come on,
- 30:12Speaker 1: we were We're not doing nothing, I know, but we're
- 30:14Speaker 1: doing our part. By you know, I was getting upset
- 30:17Speaker 1: about the gamelan. I was getting upset about the game plan.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I pot and Dylan didn't deserve that.
- 30:20Speaker 7: Maybe that should be something whenever we're streaming and it's
- 30:23Speaker 7: someone's team related to the bus. If you're down, Delaney
- 30:26Speaker 7: might have to just give a pump up speech, might.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Have to Yeah, you, I will say it was a
- 30:33Speaker 2: little little disappointing scene you tapped out in the third
- 30:35Speaker 2: quarter of the way you were coming out of halftime.
- 30:37Speaker 1: They'll tell you what it's. You see amount of injuries happening,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and you see the way the game is being called.
- 30:43Speaker 1: It's like, I'm not thinking about this game as much
- 30:46Speaker 1: as I'm thinking of the future. We're seeing so many
- 30:48Speaker 1: guys get hurt. Yeah, I was very disappointed in how
- 30:51Speaker 1: that game just went about and how they handled it. Yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 1: I just yeah, I was pissed. I always pissed. Man,
- 31:00Speaker 1: I was not happy.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Say, we still got two more quarters out here. This
- 31:03Speaker 2: is right, right, it is a one score ball game,
- 31:07Speaker 2: right now.
- 31:07Speaker 1: You're right, You're You're absolutely right.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I think score coming out of one of the.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Core values of bust with the boys, you know, team
- 31:14Speaker 1: over me, and I was not doing that. I was
- 31:18Speaker 1: not doing that. Yeah, it was tough. Yeah, I heard
- 31:21Speaker 1: snicker in the back between you and Jack Garrett losing money.
- 31:26Speaker 3: I did.
- 31:26Speaker 8: I took with you, I rode.
- 31:28Speaker 1: With you, did heartbreak Hotel but yeah, two weeks, two.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Weeks until as the game was in and he goes, hey,
- 31:41Speaker 2: I put money on Oklahoma. Did he That's.
- 31:44Speaker 4: What he said.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I don't know if he actually did. Yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Well, apparently he's been gambler with him. Heartbreak. What do
- 31:52Speaker 1: we got here?
- 31:53Speaker 8: We want to talk about the Tennessee Titans.
- 31:55Speaker 3: I love to.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I want to talk about all the games. But this
- 31:58Speaker 1: monitor is up. Okay, is great? Yeah, yeah, let's talk
- 32:05Speaker 1: about the Tennessee Titans real quick, Jack, How do you
- 32:09Speaker 1: feel I have.
- 32:09Speaker 8: A list I'd like to that I wrote.
- 32:11Speaker 2: That please, yeah, game please. One of the Tennessee Titans
- 32:15Speaker 2: fans in the country speaking right.
- 32:17Speaker 8: Now, going out.
- 32:18Speaker 7: Yeah, there's about five of us now left, so and
- 32:21Speaker 7: Garrett's one of them as well.
- 32:22Speaker 1: So Tennessee Titans fan base is on the bus right now.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Yep.
- 32:26Speaker 7: Playing a mile high obviously, you guys know playing there
- 32:29Speaker 7: probably one of the most difficult places to play in
- 32:31Speaker 7: the NFL. Elevation rookie quarterback going in a lot of
- 32:34Speaker 7: question marks everywhere.
- 32:35Speaker 8: I thought cam Ward.
- 32:36Speaker 7: Looked very poised. I think the issues do not rely
- 32:39Speaker 7: with cam Ward. The main issues rely on Brian Callahan.
- 32:43Speaker 7: I know that he's a friend of the show. So
- 32:45Speaker 7: I'm gonna try and be very nice about this.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Let me get a quick time, friend of the show.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Let me get a quick time. Okay, there's a friend
- 32:52Speaker 1: of the show.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I know.
- 32:53Speaker 1: We live in National, Tennessee.
- 32:54Speaker 8: I know, I know.
- 32:55Speaker 7: We both played for my Twitter and see what I
- 32:58Speaker 7: have to say on this show. I'm I will be
- 33:00Speaker 7: nice about this. I'm not gonna say the F word.
- 33:02Speaker 7: I'm not I'm gonna say fuck, but I'm not gonna
- 33:04Speaker 7: say VF word. So to start off last drive going
- 33:09Speaker 7: into half, we have forty five seconds and we're backed
- 33:12Speaker 7: up on the ten yard line and we decided to
- 33:14Speaker 7: throw three random screens and he throws it into the ground.
- 33:17Speaker 7: Zero time wasted on the clock. We punt, Broncos go
- 33:21Speaker 7: down and score first touchdown of the half. We could
- 33:24Speaker 7: have gone into half six to three. Horrible play calling.
- 33:27Speaker 7: What are we doing? Run three half back drives, go
- 33:30Speaker 7: to half. Be happy that you're up six to three.
- 33:33Speaker 7: Game plan, get more things ready for cam Ward anyways,
- 33:37Speaker 7: not challenging alec Aomaner's catch unbelievable. In the press conference
- 33:44Speaker 7: CALLI is saying that you have to have not only
- 33:47Speaker 7: a body part, but a leg. I'm trying to be nice.
- 33:51Speaker 7: Does Callahan know the rules of the NFL? So let
- 33:55Speaker 7: me read you what defines a catch in the NFL.
- 34:00Speaker 7: Catches completely when the players secures the ball in their
- 34:02Speaker 7: hands or arms before it touches the ground, obviously, but
- 34:05Speaker 7: it touches the ground in bounds with both feet or
- 34:09Speaker 7: any part of the body other than the hands. Why
- 34:12Speaker 7: are we not at least throwing the red flag challenge it.
- 34:14Speaker 7: His elbow was clearly at some point right there. I
- 34:17Speaker 7: know it could have been indisputable, but at that point
- 34:20Speaker 7: we might as well because that was a huge pickup
- 34:24Speaker 7: fumble recovery. On the punt, what do we do? We
- 34:30Speaker 7: do not run the ball to set up a field
- 34:32Speaker 7: goal when we're already down on the thirty yard line.
- 34:34Speaker 7: We take like a fifteen yard sack, get pushed back
- 34:37Speaker 7: half to punt. The penalties that we got that goes
- 34:41Speaker 7: on the players, obviously. Yeah, there was an all time
- 34:45Speaker 7: graphic that was offensive yards I think was one hundred
- 34:49Speaker 7: and thirty one. Penalty yards was one hundred and twenty
- 34:51Speaker 7: nine or something in that realm. That's tough. I think
- 34:55Speaker 7: there are question marks about Callahan. If you look on
- 34:57Speaker 7: Twitter Tennessee Titans fan base not to please.
- 35:01Speaker 8: We'll leave it at that one. We'll leave it on
- 35:03Speaker 8: a positive note.
- 35:05Speaker 7: Shout out to Joey Sly getting all offensive points for
- 35:09Speaker 7: the Titans.
- 35:10Speaker 8: Truly a beast. And that's really all I have to say.
- 35:13Speaker 7: I'm I have more things to say, but because he's
- 35:16Speaker 7: a friend of the show, we'll see what happens. We
- 35:18Speaker 7: got the home opener this week against a very scary
- 35:21Speaker 7: Chargers team, So if people think that narrative is not
- 35:25Speaker 7: gonna go away, I'll be there though. I'm gonna be
- 35:28Speaker 7: in that stadium and I'm pumped to see some football
- 35:32Speaker 7: and Nissan Stadium. But yeah, that's really all I have
- 35:35Speaker 7: to say. Before I get.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Kid Moore the poise, he looks ready to go. He
- 35:42Speaker 1: had a couple of rookie mistakes. You talked about.
- 35:47Speaker 8: Wide receivers got to catch.
- 35:48Speaker 1: They got they gotta catch the balls backed up in
- 35:51Speaker 1: your end zone inside the ten yard line. Not running
- 35:53Speaker 1: the ball. That is a big no no from a
- 35:55Speaker 1: from a play clock perspective. If you are a quarterback
- 35:58Speaker 1: and you have to throw the ball, you have to
- 36:00Speaker 1: make quick decisions with that football. Get small chunks. You're
- 36:03Speaker 1: not necessarily trying to play for points. You're playing to
- 36:06Speaker 1: have a better field when you're all backed up. If
- 36:10Speaker 1: you have to punt, put yourself. Johnny Hecker in a
- 36:12Speaker 1: very bad position when he had to punt. That ball
- 36:14Speaker 1: ended up turning Bronco points. Second half turnover by the Titans.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I think the Titans defense played very well yesterday. I
- 36:21Speaker 1: think they had a lot of questions marks at the
- 36:23Speaker 1: cornerback position. Snead, he came out a little bit. They
- 36:27Speaker 1: kept trying Buddy number twenty nine. I apologize for not
- 36:30Speaker 1: remembering his name. Jarvis thought he stood up when he
- 36:32Speaker 1: needed to stand up, and he did a good job.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Jeffrey Simmons dumb ass penalty at the end of the game. However,
- 36:38Speaker 1: the kid was a wrecking ball all day long. Scary
- 36:41Speaker 1: they're getting home with four. That's something you're excited with
- 36:44Speaker 1: when you get the turnover and you're basically in that
- 36:47Speaker 1: gray what Verbel likes to call as the fringe area. Yes,
- 36:50Speaker 1: you need to run the football, but if you're Kim
- 36:52Speaker 1: Ward and you're a play is called where you have
- 36:54Speaker 1: to throw the football. You cannot take a sack to
- 36:57Speaker 1: take yourself out of scoring range. You have to get
- 36:59Speaker 1: rid of the football. You have to dirt the football
- 37:01Speaker 1: or take a check down, but you can't hold the
- 37:03Speaker 1: ball for a very long time. Protection was not great.
- 37:06Speaker 2: J C.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Latham I think was he pulled. He kind of got hurt.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I don't think. Yeah, I don't think he was pulled.
- 37:10Speaker 1: But six sacks on the game, a lot of penalties.
- 37:13Speaker 1: From an offensive standpoint, you don't feel great about it.
- 37:16Speaker 1: You don't feel great about but it is the first game,
- 37:18Speaker 1: it is Mile High Stadium. Let's have a little bit
- 37:20Speaker 1: of optimism going into Week two and they're playing the Chargers.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:23Speaker 4: Charge.
- 37:23Speaker 2: There was even optimism on the last drive where they
- 37:25Speaker 2: can go in and potentially tie it up, and you
- 37:27Speaker 2: get some drops by a big time player in Calvin Ridley,
- 37:30Speaker 2: which is brutal, brutal.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Let's rip through a couple of these NFL things we're
- 37:35Speaker 1: all waiting on. Greg Olsen. Eagles survived the Cowboys twenty
- 37:38Speaker 1: four to twenty. Your boy took the Cowboys plus eight
- 37:41Speaker 1: and a half. Dak Prescott, He's never thrown an interception
- 37:43Speaker 1: in Philadelphia. That streak continues. I think from an offensive standpoint,
- 37:48Speaker 1: Cowboys look good. I mean, you talk about egos, I mean,
- 37:51Speaker 1: I think they had a an off day as far
- 37:54Speaker 1: as like what they could put together from a from
- 37:56Speaker 1: a defensive perspective, and I think a lot of that
- 37:58Speaker 1: comes from Jalen Carter from the before they even have
- 38:01Speaker 1: the first nap from.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Just undisciplined football that how how many penalty do they
- 38:05Speaker 2: have a shitload of penalties? Just undisciplined ball?
- 38:08Speaker 4: Now.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I do think the delay kind of threw off the
- 38:10Speaker 2: momentum because I think they just got a turnover and
- 38:13Speaker 2: then they end up going through and out after the
- 38:15Speaker 2: long delay. But just very uncharacteristic style game, uh for
- 38:20Speaker 2: the Eagles. I thought Dallas played their asses off. Dak
- 38:24Speaker 2: looked really good and they were there, bro like that's
- 38:27Speaker 2: one Yeah, Ceedee Lamb dropping those balls is tough because
- 38:31Speaker 2: he's a superstar. He's somebody who know has just been
- 38:34Speaker 2: beating himself up because he's like, this game's on me
- 38:36Speaker 2: because he has that type of elite talent that's I
- 38:40Speaker 2: couldn't After that game, I was like, Yo, Dallas should
- 38:44Speaker 2: have won that football game.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Dallas should have won that football game. Yeah, Ceedee Land,
- 38:48Speaker 1: I'm sure he's he's taking this week extremely personally when
- 38:52Speaker 1: it comes to the preparation going into their next game.
- 38:54Speaker 1: He I mean, but he had over one hundred yards receiving.
- 38:57Speaker 1: He had two drops and three plays at the end
- 38:59Speaker 1: of the game. The last the last player.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Drops though, but he I think those.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Drops are tough the for the just in the last
- 39:07Speaker 1: drive alone, he's going into the middle of the field
- 39:09Speaker 1: with the safety barreling down on him. Should have been
- 39:11Speaker 1: a catch. He's paid to make that catch. However, it's
- 39:14Speaker 1: a very difficult catch. The last one, Dak Prescott put
- 39:17Speaker 1: a great touch on the ball. I thought, I did
- 39:18Speaker 1: an amazing job, put a little arc on it. However,
- 39:20Speaker 1: it's a little far in front of him. CD being
- 39:22Speaker 1: the superstar he is, a lot of times he goes
- 39:24Speaker 1: out and gets that ball. Count that as a drop.
- 39:27Speaker 1: But buddy, if you're a Cowboys, you're like you got
- 39:30Speaker 1: a little bit of optimism. Because the Eagles are the
- 39:32Speaker 1: most staged team, if not for the Baltimore Ravens in
- 39:35Speaker 1: the entire NFL. They they looked good. I thought they
- 39:38Speaker 1: did a better job than people expected against the run.
- 39:41Speaker 1: I thought Kenny Clark had himself a nice night. I
- 39:44Speaker 1: thought Dante Fowler did a great job against Jordaniye a
- 39:46Speaker 1: lot a few times, got it getting pressure.
- 39:48Speaker 2: There's second played really well. Yeah, because I went back
- 39:51Speaker 2: and I was like, you know, part of me is
- 39:52Speaker 2: like Jalen hurts. All he does is run around like
- 39:54Speaker 2: there's got to be guys open. I'm sitting there reviewing
- 39:56Speaker 2: everything and Jalen's making like Dallas had everybody locked up
- 40:00Speaker 2: to where they're taking away his reads. Dallas did have
- 40:02Speaker 2: had a great game plan on doubling Aj a lot
- 40:05Speaker 2: of the times. Because Aj only had that one catch,
- 40:08Speaker 2: really one target. Jalen played really well protecting the football
- 40:12Speaker 2: and not turning it over running when he needed to run.
- 40:15Speaker 2: He beat him with his legs because Dallas's back end
- 40:17Speaker 2: did a really good job to where you get coverage
- 40:19Speaker 2: sacks in those situations. Dallas. Dallas, I think is spicy shoddy.
- 40:25Speaker 2: I think as a head coach, everybody was kind of
- 40:27Speaker 2: wondering what he would be like. There was a whole
- 40:29Speaker 2: lot of expectation for myself. But even on the first
- 40:32Speaker 2: in the first half to where they're driving him. Be
- 40:34Speaker 2: more situationally aware, Dallas, whereas in the past or tossing
- 40:39Speaker 2: the ball to the rep they're not really executing at
- 40:41Speaker 2: a high level as far as the operation goes to
- 40:43Speaker 2: where it seemed like they had a swagger and Dallas
- 40:45Speaker 2: went into Philly expecting to win that game. I felt
- 40:48Speaker 2: like you saw it on all the players' faces. There's
- 40:50Speaker 2: no blinking, none of it. They're pissed leaving that game,
- 40:53Speaker 2: which is I love to actually see with Dallas, because
- 40:56Speaker 2: I didn't know what to expect with Dallas with all
- 40:57Speaker 2: the drama that they've had with trading away Michael Parsons
- 41:00Speaker 2: hero a whole lot shoddy new head coach, and didn't
- 41:04Speaker 2: really know what to expect. But I thought Dallas played well.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I loved Schottenhammer's press conference when he first took over.
- 41:08Speaker 1: He was marrying the rom with the pass. That was
- 41:10Speaker 1: kind of his main vocal point that he was talking about,
- 41:13Speaker 1: and he showed it in his game plan. He started
- 41:15Speaker 1: running the ball frequently. They started to catch a little
- 41:18Speaker 1: uh momentum when it came to winning first and second down.
- 41:21Speaker 1: He added in a lot of play action pass got
- 41:23Speaker 1: Dak move in a little bit. You know, at the
- 41:26Speaker 1: end of the day, the thing that fires me up
- 41:27Speaker 1: the most about the Dallas Cowboys, at the end of
- 41:30Speaker 1: the half, you have a two minute situation, you have
- 41:33Speaker 1: thirty eight seconds on the clock, and we're streaming this
- 41:35Speaker 1: game and I'm watching at sorry, thirty eight seconds on
- 41:38Speaker 1: the clock. I'm watching that take down. I'm thinking to myself,
- 41:41Speaker 1: why the fuck are you not calling a timeout situation.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Turns out they already did call timeout, the clock was
- 41:47Speaker 1: all messed up. They end up getting three points out
- 41:50Speaker 1: of that. That is the kind of stuff that uned
- 41:51Speaker 1: from the Dallas Cowboys. You have all the distractions in
- 41:54Speaker 1: the world that we've talked about at nauseum, but when
- 41:56Speaker 1: it comes to situational football, the Cowboys is the team
- 41:59Speaker 1: I look at like they never do the right thing
- 42:02Speaker 1: when the right thing is needed. From a heady standpoint,
- 42:04Speaker 1: and Seattenneimer had those guys prepared to get three points
- 42:08Speaker 1: going into half, which was massive in that game. I
- 42:11Speaker 1: think I think the Cowboys, I mean pressures and sacks. Wise,
- 42:15Speaker 1: they're gonna miss Parsons a lot, but from a defensive standpoint,
- 42:18Speaker 1: I think statistically they will be better.
- 42:21Speaker 2: That's that's my get what the stat was. But somebody
- 42:24Speaker 2: had brought up that it was when they played the
- 42:26Speaker 2: Eagles last year with the healthy Michael Parsons, like there
- 42:29Speaker 2: were you know, no sacks and I don't know if
- 42:33Speaker 2: it was five pressures or not, but they had more
- 42:36Speaker 2: production out of their pass.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Rush this week. I know that week that's that's the same.
- 42:40Speaker 1: It was like one sack and five pressures. That was
- 42:42Speaker 1: a Michael Parsons against the Eagles last year. That's the
- 42:45Speaker 1: same amount of stats they had this year. They had
- 42:47Speaker 1: the same exact stats back to back with Parsons without.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Parsons, right, so the production is still the same, Like
- 42:52Speaker 2: they're still getting over the quarterback and getting those covered sacks.
- 42:56Speaker 1: We have, we have, mister Olson on. This episode is

- 44:57Speaker 1: a full tour right now? Carawa wash? You had to
- 44:59Speaker 1: barstool the whole bull tour.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Man.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I got off my Red Eye. I was in Seattle
- 45:03Speaker 3: last night for the opener of Seahawks forty nine ers
- 45:06Speaker 3: Red Eyed home, jumped on Portnoy's new show on Fox
- 45:11Speaker 3: and obviously looking forward to chatting with you guys. So
- 45:13Speaker 3: it's been a uh, it's been a big morning.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Are you going in? Is this week one for the
- 45:18Speaker 2: youth football team? And please tell us the name of
- 45:20Speaker 2: the team, like, well, we're gonna we're going to be
- 45:22Speaker 2: following this thing very closely all year long, because you're
- 45:25Speaker 2: calling on my season.
- 45:26Speaker 3: This might be my favorite thing that I'm gonna do
- 45:28Speaker 3: all year. I cannot wait to give you guys recaps
- 45:30Speaker 3: on this wild world of youth football. We are two
- 45:34Speaker 3: and oh. We've played two games. We have a bye.
- 45:37Speaker 3: We have a bye this week.
- 45:38Speaker 2: The entire squestimer.
- 45:40Speaker 3: We're actually out of town, the kids going like this
- 45:43Speaker 3: camp retreat for three days, so we don't play, so
- 45:45Speaker 3: we are completely off and uh yeah, we've gotten off
- 45:49Speaker 3: to a pretty good start. We're two and oh. We
- 45:50Speaker 3: got we got a good team coming up after the
- 45:53Speaker 3: bye week, so we got some work to do. But
- 45:55Speaker 3: uh yeah, so far, so far, so good.
- 45:57Speaker 2: What's the mascot name.
- 45:59Speaker 3: We're the Nights. So we're the Charlotte Christian Nights.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Charlotte Christian Knights. Now do you give when you're approaching
- 46:04Speaker 2: a bye week? Are you letting them get out of
- 46:07Speaker 2: the building and enjoying their vacation time? Are you still
- 46:10Speaker 2: bringing them in and you got to do some self scouting?
- 46:13Speaker 2: What's the staff doing on the week of the bye week?
- 46:15Speaker 2: And then what are you doing with your players? Because
- 46:17Speaker 2: you know in the NFL, it's like, hey, are we
- 46:18Speaker 2: going to get this vacation time off or is coach
- 46:20Speaker 2: going to keep us around your thoughts?
- 46:23Speaker 3: Yeah, So if it was up to me, we'd practice
- 46:25Speaker 3: every day. Yeah, but the reason we have a bye
- 46:28Speaker 3: is the kids aren't here. So the kids, we took
- 46:31Speaker 3: them to school this morning. When my wife took them
- 46:32Speaker 3: to kids, I was flying across the country. They went
- 46:35Speaker 3: to school this morning, boarded buses and they took them away.
- 46:38Speaker 3: So they're going to be gone. They don't come back
- 46:40Speaker 3: until Wednesday afternoon, so we'll have no practice today, Tuesday
- 46:44Speaker 3: or Wednesday, we'll be back to regular school on Thursday.
- 46:47Speaker 3: We'll practice after school like usual, start prepping. We'll kind
- 46:50Speaker 3: of do like a hybrid corrections from last week, get
- 46:54Speaker 3: back to our first fundamentals, get back to all of
- 46:57Speaker 3: our stuff. We always start with us before we worry
- 46:59Speaker 3: about them. That's kind of like our model. So we'll
- 47:01Speaker 3: do our corrections, we'll do our fundamentals. We'll do all
- 47:04Speaker 3: of our stuff on Thursday, and then we'll start getting
- 47:08Speaker 3: into game prep for the team that we play next week.
- 47:10Speaker 3: And then Friday we'll do. We'll come in, we'll do
- 47:13Speaker 3: like an hour and a half practice. We'll watch the
- 47:15Speaker 3: game film from our first two weeks, like in person
- 47:18Speaker 3: in the classroom. I'll make like a mini cutup of
- 47:20Speaker 3: like the plays we've got to watch that we've got
- 47:23Speaker 3: to correct off of. And so that'll rap. We'll be
- 47:26Speaker 3: off on the weekend and then we'll get back to
- 47:27Speaker 3: work on Monday. So that's our our buy schedule. We'll
- 47:30Speaker 3: get two good days in this week.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Greg, speaking of a sting on the bye a week.
- 47:34Speaker 1: You got a lot of guys you start too, and
- 47:35Speaker 1: know you have a very early buy in this season.
- 47:37Speaker 1: How do you stop your players from getting bike heads
- 47:39Speaker 1: and feeling like, hey, we're going to roll over everybody
- 47:42Speaker 1: this year.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Yeah, we're pretty good at that. We're pretty good at
- 47:45Speaker 3: like the humbling approach. Like we we've played okay, I
- 47:50Speaker 3: wouldn't say we've played great. I think we have a
- 47:53Speaker 3: we have a good team, We have really talented kids,
- 47:56Speaker 3: and like we're tough and we play hard like all
- 47:58Speaker 3: those things. We've been a little slop, so we The
- 48:01Speaker 3: nice thing is, you know, it's like it's no different
- 48:03Speaker 3: than what we saw yesterday and week one of the NFL.
- 48:05Speaker 3: There's a lot of teams that walked into the locker
- 48:08Speaker 3: room one and zero and the when that euphoria kind
- 48:11Speaker 3: of wears off and you kind of take a deep
- 48:14Speaker 3: breath and you come back in and you watch the film,
- 48:16Speaker 3: you're like, oh my god, we're not that good. Like,
- 48:18Speaker 3: we got a lot of things to do, but it's
- 48:20Speaker 3: a lot easier being one to oh coaching off wins.
- 48:23Speaker 3: That's the same thing for us. So we've got a
- 48:25Speaker 3: lot of things we need to get better at. We've
- 48:27Speaker 3: got a lot of things that we can improve on
- 48:29Speaker 3: our operations, some ball security. But the one thing I
- 48:32Speaker 3: will say, our kids play hard. Like our kids are physical,
- 48:36Speaker 3: they run to the ball. We're not always in the
- 48:38Speaker 3: right spot. We've we overrun some plays. We don't fit
- 48:41Speaker 3: the right gaps in the run game. You know, we
- 48:44Speaker 3: can coach all that. We run, we hit, we tackle,
- 48:49Speaker 3: and and that's that's what we've stressed all summer. As
- 48:53Speaker 3: the year goes on, we'll clean up the operation. We'll
- 48:55Speaker 3: clean up some of the details, the penalties, the blown assignments,
- 48:59Speaker 3: like that's part of being young. I mean, we saw
- 49:01Speaker 3: that yesterday with professionals. So that part we always expect
- 49:04Speaker 3: early on. But the one thing we do do is
- 49:07Speaker 3: we play fast and we play hard.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Is the team next week? How are they? What is
- 49:11Speaker 2: their record? Is this team you got circled on the
- 49:13Speaker 2: schedule right now.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Yeah, they're they're undefeated. They're a local, they're a local.
- 49:18Speaker 3: They're high school is like a local power. So they're
- 49:20Speaker 3: a K through twelve private school like we are. Their
- 49:23Speaker 3: high school team is really talented. They've got kids going
- 49:27Speaker 3: all over the country for college, and they run a
- 49:31Speaker 3: really good program. It's called Providence Day School. Chad Greer,
- 49:35Speaker 3: Will Greer's father is the coach, and so they do
- 49:39Speaker 3: a nice job. They've got a nice high school program.
- 49:41Speaker 3: So you know, like anything, it trickles down. Kids come
- 49:44Speaker 3: to that school as middle schoolers because they know it's
- 49:46Speaker 3: a good high school. That's kind of like what our
- 49:48Speaker 3: school is.
- 49:48Speaker 7: Like.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Our high school is really talented. We're a little smaller
- 49:51Speaker 3: than them, we don't have as many kids, but we're good.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Our running backs going to Nebraska.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Will by the way, yes, I remember you saying that
- 49:57Speaker 2: on the bus shot out of Nebraska, big red looking nice.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Yeah, good win, nice job. But anyway, so yeah, it's
- 50:04Speaker 3: a it's a big game. They're they're right up the
- 50:06Speaker 3: street from us, They're a mile away. It's a rivalry game,
- 50:09Speaker 3: and we got to come ready.
- 50:10Speaker 2: To play rivalry game. I love too how he's he's
- 50:14Speaker 2: doing a good job of lifting up the opponent and
- 50:16Speaker 2: not giving him any any bolton board material going into
- 50:18Speaker 2: the game.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Week, No doubt about it. When you play this game,
- 50:21Speaker 1: you talk about you're playing two teams that are undefeated,
- 50:23Speaker 1: and this both high school teams are big.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Now.
- 50:26Speaker 1: I know there's been rumors strolling around the Charlotte County
- 50:29Speaker 1: area saying that when Greg Olson's kids are old enough,
- 50:32Speaker 1: he might be taking you over the head coaching job
- 50:33Speaker 1: at high school. Those are just rumors at this point.
- 50:35Speaker 2: They're on the message boards. I've been seeing the message boards.
- 50:38Speaker 2: I got to log in. I got a subscription that you.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Dive in those message boards going hot, right, they're still hot.
- 50:44Speaker 1: It's called Reddit. They get this ship going.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Now.
- 50:47Speaker 3: I haven't been on Reddit because it's toxic, but I'll
- 50:49Speaker 3: tell you, growing up as a kid man, you wanted
- 50:51Speaker 3: to know where you stood in the New Jersey high school.
- 50:53Speaker 3: You went to like nj dot com. You signed up
- 50:56Speaker 3: for a forum and you'd be like is anybody talking
- 50:59Speaker 3: about me? Yeah?
- 51:00Speaker 1: Yeah da. Dave Lawan was big time on m GO Blue,
- 51:05Speaker 1: which was their message for him. Every single week. He
- 51:07Speaker 1: had to find out what what the whole community thought
- 51:09Speaker 1: of Luan.
- 51:13Speaker 3: Now you don't have to look. Now, you don't have
- 51:15Speaker 3: to look very far people.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Oh no, yeah, the myrtle will tell you anything you
- 51:19Speaker 1: have to know. But you play, you play this team. There,
- 51:22Speaker 1: you play this team, you beat this team? Are you
- 51:25Speaker 1: kick lead a couple of guys maybe going over to
- 51:27Speaker 1: some of those kids saying, hey, you want to be
- 51:29Speaker 1: a part of a championship program. This is the place
- 51:31Speaker 1: for you. You're only a mile awhile not.
- 51:33Speaker 3: On the field.
- 51:34Speaker 1: No, yeah, but but once the juice boxes are in
- 51:36Speaker 1: hand and the orange slices are giving out oranges.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Once there passed out, then it's freaking It.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Looks pretty good out there. I'll tell you what, man,
- 51:43Speaker 1: we could use you at cornerback next year.
- 51:45Speaker 3: You know what. And this is the God's honest truth.
- 51:48Speaker 3: And you guys know like the high school world nowadays
- 51:51Speaker 3: is the wild West. I mean, there are kids transferring
- 51:54Speaker 3: during the season, there's kids transferring a week before the season.
- 51:57Speaker 3: There's kids that are going to three or four high
- 51:59Speaker 3: schools over their four year high school journey and not
- 52:02Speaker 3: even blinking. So the idea of movement and the idea
- 52:05Speaker 3: of kids bouncing around is we all understand is just
- 52:08Speaker 3: the reality. I will say though, like we are not
- 52:12Speaker 3: like calling I'm not calling kids out of the blue
- 52:16Speaker 3: and Pete pleading for them to come to our school.
- 52:19Speaker 3: We do hear from a lot of families that reach
- 52:22Speaker 3: out to us, reach out through the school. What we
- 52:25Speaker 3: want are our recruiting. I'm just speaking from the middle school.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Our recruiting is when you come watch the games, you
- 52:34Speaker 3: watch our team play and you watch your team play.
- 52:38Speaker 3: And this isn't always the case. I'm just saying this
- 52:40Speaker 3: is our goal. We want you to walk out and
- 52:43Speaker 3: be like, my kid loves football. I want him to
- 52:46Speaker 3: be coached there like I want him to be on
- 52:48Speaker 3: that team. They're organized, they play hard, they're fast, they're multiple.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Their kids are playing real, real football that I could
- 52:57Speaker 3: see being a good springboard as my kid gets into
- 52:59Speaker 3: high scho like to me, that's our recruiting. And we've
- 53:03Speaker 3: lost games. We haven't like, we haven't won every game
- 53:05Speaker 3: by one hundred. That's the oh what we're trying to
- 53:09Speaker 3: build the groundswell we're trying to do. That's our recruiting,
- 53:12Speaker 3: and then if you reach out to us and you're
- 53:14Speaker 3: interested in coming, we'll see what we can do about
- 53:16Speaker 3: getting you in and going through that whole process. But
- 53:20Speaker 3: we're not going to apologize for that. Like we're gonna
- 53:22Speaker 3: try to put a brand of football that if you
- 53:23Speaker 3: care about football, and you your kid cares about football,
- 53:27Speaker 3: we want you to see us and say that's where
- 53:29Speaker 3: our kid needs to be.
- 53:31Speaker 2: If if if your team's worth the shit, your social
- 53:33Speaker 2: media person right now, they need to be clipping that
- 53:35Speaker 2: running it for whenever recruits do come into the office,
- 53:37Speaker 2: that's the first thing they see in here. Yeah, you
- 53:39Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. We'll start kind of building that
- 53:41Speaker 2: from the inside out.
- 53:42Speaker 1: I'll say this you talked about you. When people want
- 53:46Speaker 1: to come in, we will say, we'll see what we
- 53:48Speaker 1: can do if they can fit into the culture. Have
- 53:49Speaker 1: you had to go through that as a head coach
- 53:52Speaker 1: where you have to look at another kid and be like, hey,
- 53:54Speaker 1: there's twelve other teams in this league. They're gonna watch you,
- 53:56Speaker 1: but unfortunately it's not this team.
- 53:59Speaker 3: Well, typically the kids that want to come are we
- 54:03Speaker 3: know are pretty good players. But at our school, and
- 54:07Speaker 3: this is a credit to the school, we don't have
- 54:09Speaker 3: a lot of turnover. And it's not a very big school.
- 54:11Speaker 3: So we've got like one hundred and ten one hundred
- 54:13Speaker 3: and fifteen kids in a grade, give or take, so
- 54:16Speaker 3: it's a it's a relatively small school. So there's only
- 54:20Speaker 3: so many spots, right, you know, you'd say there's fifty
- 54:22Speaker 3: boys fifty to sixty boys in a grade on average,
- 54:26Speaker 3: So there's just there's not a lot of numbers. There's
- 54:28Speaker 3: not a lot of empty seats, you know, so we
- 54:31Speaker 3: could have we could get twenty new kids to come
- 54:33Speaker 3: play football for us next year if we wanted to. Like,
- 54:35Speaker 3: it's not hard, it's just hard getting everybody in because
- 54:40Speaker 3: kids don't leave our school. So there's a couple spots,
- 54:42Speaker 3: and obviously admissions does a nice job trying to spread
- 54:45Speaker 3: them around in multi sports and guys and girls and
- 54:48Speaker 3: performing arts, and there's a lot of mouths that need
- 54:51Speaker 3: to be fed. So we are not at a school
- 54:54Speaker 3: some of the schools around us that we compete against.
- 54:57Speaker 3: If a good kid wants to come, it's a one
- 54:59Speaker 3: hundred percent admission they're in. That's not the case at
- 55:03Speaker 3: our school, So we don't get everybody. We probably don't
- 55:07Speaker 3: get half the kids who want to come play for us,
- 55:10Speaker 3: and that's just the nature of the business. We get
- 55:12Speaker 3: as many as we can. The vast majority of our
- 55:15Speaker 3: team that we coach, our kids that are just at
- 55:17Speaker 3: our school. They've been there since they were in kindergarten,
- 55:20Speaker 3: They've worked their way up and now they're in seventh
- 55:22Speaker 3: and eighth grade and they're eligible to play on the team.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Of our fifty kids, I'd say forty plus have gone
- 55:28Speaker 3: the school there their whole life.
- 55:29Speaker 2: Greg, are you doing a good job of shaking the
- 55:32Speaker 2: right hands, going to the right booster events to make
- 55:36Speaker 2: sure whenever a kid does come across your radar, you're
- 55:39Speaker 2: doing everything you can to get this kid on your
- 55:41Speaker 2: football team.
- 55:42Speaker 3: I'm the booster.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Oh okay, all right, so some letter bags.
- 55:47Speaker 3: It's easy.
- 55:48Speaker 2: A follow up question, if you guys have a defensive
- 55:51Speaker 2: of bad or a poor defensive performance, will you make
- 55:55Speaker 2: Luke Keikley available to the media next week on busting
- 55:58Speaker 2: with the Boys.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Yes, yes, I think we can get Luke signed up.
- 56:02Speaker 3: I think we might have to do like a like
- 56:03Speaker 3: a two shot and we'll get we'll get yes, give
- 56:07Speaker 3: some analysis of his of his defensive unit. I think
- 56:09Speaker 3: that's a great idea.
- 56:10Speaker 2: We got to get down there, bro, I gotta I
- 56:12Speaker 2: got a coach.
- 56:13Speaker 3: As the head coach. I I gotta stand at the
- 56:15Speaker 3: podium questions.
- 56:17Speaker 2: You guys know that, but we'll give you a list
- 56:19Speaker 2: we got we listen, we gotta speak to Key cle Right.
- 56:21Speaker 1: If things don't go the way and it didn't go
- 56:23Speaker 1: away because of the defensive game plan. You can say
- 56:26Speaker 1: all the right things in the world, but at the end
- 56:27Speaker 1: of the day, the media wants to talk to the
- 56:28Speaker 1: personal responsible for the downfall.
- 56:30Speaker 3: If the running backs aren't getting they have to face
- 56:32Speaker 3: that fire.
- 56:32Speaker 2: If the running backs aren't getting above fifty on the ground.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Jonathan Stewart, we got to see him at the podium.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Were you able to see uh? Syracuse get beat and
- 56:40Speaker 1: Fran Brown after the game made his team run sprints.
- 56:43Speaker 4: I did.
- 56:44Speaker 3: I didn't love it. You didn't love it.
- 56:46Speaker 1: That's not you.
- 56:46Speaker 3: Didn't love it, that's not me like and again, I'm
- 56:49Speaker 3: all about accountability. I'm all about Hey, we have a
- 56:51Speaker 3: certain standard here. We didn't live up to it, and
- 56:54Speaker 3: you got to make it known. This is college football
- 56:56Speaker 3: is big boy ball now like that, there's no, it's
- 57:00Speaker 3: not for the faint of heart. I don't love the
- 57:02Speaker 3: idea of doing it right on the game field in
- 57:06Speaker 3: front of the crowd. It feels a little like, look
- 57:08Speaker 3: at me, we care more than anybody else. Like I
- 57:12Speaker 3: think you can get your message across to your team
- 57:14Speaker 3: when you're not happy with the performance, which all coaches do.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Like I've been on both sides of that conversation. I
- 57:23Speaker 3: just don't know if it needs to be wind sprints
- 57:25Speaker 3: after the game.
- 57:27Speaker 2: I don't know, right, yeah, you'd be able to handle
- 57:31Speaker 2: it in the house like it's still gonna get handled.
- 57:33Speaker 1: It's a touch embarrassing too. You go back to look
- 57:35Speaker 1: at two thousand and four Catch a Shadow High School
- 57:38Speaker 1: versus Pinnacle Peak. We beat them thirty one to three
- 57:40Speaker 1: on Cox seven, and they were running sprints after the game.
- 57:42Speaker 1: It's demoralizing. You sit there and you line next week.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Can't even tell you. I'm always onto the next I'm
- 57:47Speaker 1: focused on my team and my team only.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Girl, I can't high school openers. We had an opener
- 57:53Speaker 2: and we were taking you got you got the buses
- 57:54Speaker 2: going up to Oakville and we had a couple guys
- 57:57Speaker 2: throwing out like apples and like different types of like trash,
- 58:01Speaker 2: like littering, and our head coach before the game comes
- 58:05Speaker 2: in and catches wind of who's littering doing what entire
- 58:09Speaker 2: team had to do gassers ten gassers before the game.
- 58:13Speaker 1: He doesn't want to win. We got mopped, yeah, I
- 58:16Speaker 1: mean obviously your gas.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we got mopped. That was a That was a
- 58:21Speaker 2: week one opener. I was a freshman. I always say that,
- 58:27Speaker 2: all right.
- 58:27Speaker 3: So let's ask ourselves what what was the objective of
- 58:31Speaker 3: the exercise? Like I always think back, like, okay, what
- 58:34Speaker 3: was the intent? Forget what the perception is, forget all that, Like,
- 58:37Speaker 3: what was the internal intent of making that decision? Did
- 58:41Speaker 3: you think that your kids after they ran, we're going
- 58:44Speaker 3: to walk off the field and say, you know what,
- 58:48Speaker 3: coach cares? So again, I think Frand does a great job,
- 58:50Speaker 3: So I'm not like personally attacking right job, Like what
- 58:54Speaker 3: did they think? Like, all right, all the mistakes that
- 58:56Speaker 3: we made, guys, we can't do them again because I'm embarrassed.
- 59:00Speaker 3: We're we're trying to embarrass the kids. We're we're trying
- 59:02Speaker 3: to make them say I don't want to run gassers
- 59:04Speaker 3: because I'm physically tired. So I'm just gonna play better
- 59:08Speaker 3: out of fear of being punished. Like I want to
- 59:11Speaker 3: show the outside world how much we care, So I'm
- 59:14Speaker 3: going to.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Do it now.
- 59:15Speaker 3: Like I don't know what the end game was that
- 59:19Speaker 3: was the fuel of the decision. So like that's the
- 59:23Speaker 3: question that if you can't answer, I don't know what
- 59:25Speaker 3: the real reasoning behind it was, you know what I mean, Like,
- 59:29Speaker 3: put yourself in the mind of those kids. You're walking
- 59:31Speaker 3: into the locker room, and what's your first thought.
- 59:33Speaker 1: You're probably pissed off?
- 59:36Speaker 3: This is what we're doing it.
- 59:37Speaker 1: I mean, it's crazy. I mean, I'm here to play
- 59:38Speaker 1: a game, Charlotte, Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Middle school.
- 59:41Speaker 3: I want to power for football here, And I like,
- 59:44Speaker 3: do you think it's going to get your kids to
- 59:47Speaker 3: study harder, try harder, play hard? I don't know. I
- 59:50Speaker 3: would go back and reevaluate if I don't like my
- 59:53Speaker 3: performance in a certain game. How is my practice? Did
- 59:56Speaker 3: we practice the right stuff? Are we meeting the right way?
- 59:58Speaker 3: Did we walk through the right way? Are we installing
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: too much? Do we have too much x's and o's
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: and not enough fundamental time or meeting times? Being cut short.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Let's go back and look at our installs. Let's go
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: back and look at the personnel we're putting in the game. Like,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: I just think there's so many things that you could
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: check off before you say, you know what, the answer
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: to our issue is we have to run after practice.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: I don't know I have.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I'm absolutely with you. And one of the one team
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: that's having that conversation today is the Florida Gator because
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: they just got upset against USF by last second field goal.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Now that USF team has now been a ranked Boise
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: State team and a ranked Florida team, and they're headed
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: down south to your team, University of Miami. What are
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: your thoughts going into that game? Are you a little
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: nervous with the Bulls?
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: I mean when I when I certainly when I looked
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: at Miami's schedule to start the season, of course, the
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Notre Dame week one sticks out, and then you know
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: you always look at you know, Florida, Florida stay and
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: you know in the ACC, and you know, do they
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: have Clemson on the schedule, and who's your cross you know,
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: who's your inner conference. Now that they've changed the ACC,
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: it's like a mixed bag of who you play each year.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: I don't think any of us said all that USF game,
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: that's going to be a bear that you sit here,
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: you know, like you said, they'd be two ranked opponents,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: just be Florida. It could be you either get them
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: on a high of high and they're riding that momentum
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: into into your place and you're in for a fight.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Or they just had the greatest win and you know,
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: we'll call it program history. I don't know exactly enough
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: about their program about whether or not it is or not,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: but let's just say it's one of the best wins
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: in the last ten years of that program for any
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: of these kids. Is there a little bit of a regression?
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: Is there? Do you catch them kind of on the
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: low end of this huge peak energy wise and then
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: they crash a little bit. So I think it could
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: go either way, But I certainly think if you're Miami,
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: you're doing everything Mario Chris Ball is doing everything in
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: his power to prop these guys up. Show every win,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: show every postgame press conference, show them celebrating in the
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: locker room, show their coaches running out of the coaches
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: booth in front of the Dallas that was awesome, Like
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: I'm showing all that, like are you gonna let this
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: happen at our place? Like are we willing to be
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: on the other side of a moment someone else's moment?
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Like it all depends on how you guys get to work.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Like that's the messaging I'm sure Mario is doing.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: I love that. Yeah, that juices me. The question for
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: you if you were to see one of your defensive
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: linemen spin on somebody before the game and then get disqualified,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: how are you handling that as a head coach? Seeing
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Jalen Carter do it against Dallas Jalen that that's a
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: that's a big boy. I'm curious how that all went
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: down the next day, Like in that organization, Jalen spinning
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: on back Prescott.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not fighting him.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Hey, big Dom, can we can we figure this out?
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: Listen? There needs to be accountability and standards, and I
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: think what you hope is the case. And just from
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: being around you know, from talking to Sirianni and covering
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: a million of their games and just knowing how they operate,
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: my outsider perspective is you don't need to do anything new.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: The standards and expectations of the roster. I'm assuming and
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: from all measures, you don't have that success that they're
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: not have been set. Your locker room probably has the
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: personalities that, hey, we have a certain way of holding
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: ourselves accountable around here. That's unacceptable. We don't tolerate it.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: I think there'll be an internal punishment and internal you know,
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: accountability type conversation. But I think the guy like Sirianni's
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: going to attack it head on. I think when you're
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: a coach that's had his level of success, I think
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: the coach the players respect him. It's an easier conversation
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: for a coach to confront a player and hold them
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: accountable when that coach has earned it through the good,
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: the bad, the ups and downs. He's in the fight
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: with you. He's in the grind with you. Like those
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: guys are, they're heard more. I think if it's a
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: coach that guys don't have a lot of respect, or
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: a coach that hasn't proven to you he's got your
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: back and he's not, I think those conversations get a
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: little bit more like defensive from the player side, and
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: there's a little more combative nature. So my gut is
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: They're gonna handle that internally and it won't be an issue.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: There's no question he was flat out wrong. I give
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: him credit. He owned up to it. He didn't try
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: to excuse it at all in the postgame. But like
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: that can't happen, that's inexcusable. I think the culture, locker
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: room and coaching wise in Philly, though, is prepared to
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: handle those kind of things and not let it become
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: bigger than it needs to be.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Turning your attention to the game that you called yesterday,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: You're in Seattle watching the forty nine ers, who, by
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: all accounts, people have kind of started to like look
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: away from the forty nine ers for the last couple
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: of years, always been like this is a Super Bowl
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: contending team, and then going into this game, I hear
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: you talk a lot about like, hey, get back to
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: winning the moment, get back to winning first down. Brock
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Purdy goes out, he has two interceptions to a couple
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: of bad interceptions, could have very well had an interception
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: on his go ahead touchdown against the tight end with
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: the tight end who had his first four career receptions.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: What are you seeing from the forty nine ers offense
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: that gives you hope and then a couple of things
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: and maybe give you a little worry going on the
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: back end.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Well, it gives me hope. Is Trent Williams is out
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: there at left tackle and he wasn't. And we talked
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: about this a little bit. I mean, and you know
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: the pet position probably better than I do. But like
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: when you talk about the mount rushmore of left tackles,
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: besides obviously yourself, Trent Williams is as good as it gets, right.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: He's right, He's right up there with me.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: I get all you know, you get, you get what
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: I'm saying, right, So I got you. Get Trent back
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: playing left tackle. McCaffrey got thirty one touches, seem to
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: have left the game no worse for wear. Obviously that's
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: a huge benefit. They lose Kittle and Purty. I think
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: was up and down. I think when he needed to
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: be at his best he was. That last drive. The
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: throw to Pierce in the double move is huge. The scramble,
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: I'm with you, was a when he threw it. I
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: thought it was going to be picked reek wooland just
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: misplayed it. But you don't apologize you win. However, you
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: have to so I'm a little I'm encouraged because they've
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: got a couple of their dudes out there again. Last
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: year it was kind of Purty and he had Kittle
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: and then it was really a mixed bag around him.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Everyone was pretty much out. It's encouraging there, and on
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: the same side, I'm a little concerned, like do they
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: have enough firepower? How long is Kittle going to be
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: out with the hamstring?
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: You know, Pierceall is a good player, but they're not
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: going to get Iu back for a couple of weeks,
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: may probably over a month. Like do they have enough
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: juice or does Purty continue to have to pull it out?
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Does he kind of have to continue to carry that
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: offense on his back? Which I'm not saying you can't,
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: it's just a it's a very hard model to play
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: NFL quarterback when every play is reliant on you. So
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: I think they've got some things offensively they're still trying
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: to figure out. I think the defense was much improved.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: I think Yah Saw is just a flat out ball coach. Yeah,
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: that guy is just he can coach defense everywhere he's
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: ever been. So I think that was an encouraging sign
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: that they held you know, Seattle to thirteen. I thought
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: that was probably the biggest storyline aside from the ending
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: by Purty on that last drive.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Yeah, one of my favorite things about Brock Purty is
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: throwing those two interceptions and not flinching kind By every account,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: could have just gone on the toilet. March's his team
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: down and gets a touchdown. That's unbelievable.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: That's growth too, that is great, that's growth.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: That is growth. Yeah.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: I have a topic I would love to just bring
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: up for all of us.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Oh, is this on the game we're talking about right now?
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: No, okay, if you're still saying on forty nine ers,
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: go ahead and get this. This is a different game.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to get your thoughts on Jackson Smith
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: and Jigball how I mean is absolutely electric. He had
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: two fumbles in the game, but he was literally all
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: over the place and that Sam Darnold did an amazing job.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: From if you're on the Seattle side, if you're in
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: that coaching staff, how are you coaching them today? Being like, guys, listen,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: the scoreboard didn't say well, want it, but it seemed
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: like from the twenties to the twenty they did a
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: very good job of moving the ball.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: Yeah, they did. They moved the ball well. They've got
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: to finish, right. I think both teams, you know, Seattle
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: moved the ball well late. I think through the first
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: half the game, it was a little sluggish on offense.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Late in the game, the offense found their groove a
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: little bit more. I would have liked to have seen
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: them be a little bit more aggressive. On the fourth
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: down there at the end of the game, so there
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: was like three three and change left on the clock,
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Cooper Cup just got tackled short of the first down
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: sticks by like a foot. It was ten to ten.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: They settled for a field goal. Didn't love that decision.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: Would have loved to have seen them be a little
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: bit more aggressive there on offense. But what Seattle the
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: positive is. I thought their defense looked good. I think
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: last year they finished the last half the season that
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: was the top five defense. I think Mike McDonald's a
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: hell of a defensive coach. They've got some real dudes
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: at all three levels. I think they've got a chance
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: by years in to be a top five to seven
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: defense in the entire league over the course of the
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: whole season. Offensively, there's going to be growing pains, right.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: They got Clint Kubiak, new offensive coordinator, completely different than
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Grubb from last year, who came from Washington who's now
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: in Alabama, complete different philosophy. Obviously, they get Sam Darnold,
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: completely different approach to quarterback than Gino. You know you
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: want under center, the deep play action, the accuracy downfield,
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: all the things that made Sam so good last year
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: with Kevin O'Connell and Minnesota is a lot of what
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Kubiak's trying to bring to Seattle. In Minnesota he's trying
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: to bring to Seattle. So I think both teams offensively
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: probably have a lot of things that they want to
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: get better at. But I think both teams walk out
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: of that and say our defense played well enough to
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: win the game. I think Jackson Smith and Jigbu is
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: a stud. We had some questions about how they were
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: going to use him. He's always been kind of an
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: interior slot guy with DK and Tyler when they were
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: all there together. Are they going to move him to
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: the outside. He did most of his damage again yesterday
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: from that slot position. He is a tough matchup, He's
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: got great feeling zones. He's a nightmare to play one
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: on one and man he catches the ball, he can
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: run after catch. He I think now with DK and
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: Tyler Gone, I think Jackson Smith and Jigba is going
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: to turn into like that next young wave of really
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: high level wide receivers across the league.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Kids, if an absolute monster, will.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: I want to bring your guys attention to Miami with
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: the Dolphins. What is your outlook on coach McDaniels as
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: the head coach. I'll say this up front, a very good,
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: very respected offensive mind in the NFL. But now with
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: the resume that he has the drama that's went on
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: in training camp from me on the outside looking in
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: as a player, it seems like a guy that, as
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: far as like leadership and head coachability would be more.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: His win of the day is if the boys like
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: the shoes on his feet more than he does like
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: coaching and like being a leader amongst guys who again,
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: there's drama all over the place. You see Tua getting
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: into it with the reporter after getting Tyreek already losing
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: it in Game one. You see all the stuff coming
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: out of training camp. Where do you see the pulse
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: in Miami right now? With coach McDaniel.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's a great point. I think and
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: we all know this from the different teams we've been on,
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: the different personalities and whether it's a coach or a player, Yes,
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: the perception of a coach or a player in this
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: case a coach and their behavior, their body language, their language,
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: the way they do their press conferences, just their whole
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: vibe and their whole the way they present themselves is
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: always viewed through the lens of wins and losses. When
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: you're winning, you're cool and it's fun and it's the approach,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: and you're relatable and it's connecting with the players and
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: it's all positive. That exact same guy. When you're losing,
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: it's a distraction. He's not focused on what matters. He
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: has no discipline, he doesn't care about the important things. Right.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: So the unfortunate thing for a guy like McDaniels, and
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: there's a million examples across the league of players and coaches,
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: you fall victim to whether or not you win or lose.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: You can wear whatever shoes you want, you can wear glasses,
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: you can give funny press conferences. You can be eccentric,
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: you can be serious, you can be when Bill Belichick
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: gave his one really like petty interviews, and they're winning
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: Super Bowls. Man, that's just Bill Belichick. He's something. But
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: then all of a sudden, when they weren't good, it's
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: like he comes across in completely different and the only
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: thing that changed was they weren't winning. So it's kind
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: of the same idea with McDaniel's. When you're winning, you
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: can be whatever you want to be, but just understand,
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: if you're gonna be outside of the quote unquote box, right,
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: you're gonna be a little atypical from what we're accustomed
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: to seeing. Whether it's a head coach or a quarterback
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: or whatever. Everyone has this idea of like where guys
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: should fit into a box. If you start losing, that
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: is going to be brought into question, and you just
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: have to be prepared for that. I don't think McDaniel's, frankly,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: I don't think he cares. I can't imagine he's spending
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: a lot of time worrying about it. His number one
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: focus right now needs to be how can he turn
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: to in that offense into what we saw his first
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: couple of years in Miami, when they were innovative and
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: high flying and throwing the ball over people's heads on
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: every play, because for a week one performance, with all
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: the uncertainty and speculation going into the season, that's about
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: as bad as a gainst.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you on all those fronts. It's like,
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: you know, all of a sudden, coach wants you to
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: tuck in your shirt if you start losing, and it's like, why,
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: you know, why are we changing?
- 1:13:13Speaker 6: Why chang?
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and I agree with you if you got a
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: little quirkiness or something, you're winning and losing. To me,
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: it's like, when you're losing and it seems bad, how
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: is the culture? How is the player?
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: What are you seeing from the Miami Dolphins that would
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: reflect him culture wiser as a head coach? And to me,
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: it's all the conversations you see that are public with
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: the players, all the antics you see on the sideline
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: again with like to rekill oh when he's losing his
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: mind in that in that uh in the first quarter,
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: and just all of that to me feels like, Okay,
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: he is a little weird. I've loved like since he
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: got there. I'm like, oh, the boy kittle. Everybody talks
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: very highly of him. That's him coming, that's him coming
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: as a OC, so I'm like optimistic. He's very creative offensively,
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: he is a guy that you would love to play
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: for because he's not that tight ass that is just
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: on you all the time, So you would enjoy that
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: as a player. But now it's got due. Now it's
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: kind of felt like a point to where, Okay, he
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: is like that, and it is okay if the entire
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: team is rallied around him and buttoned up, and the
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: culture seems there and the guy's a little quirky, but
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: he seems a little quirky, and it seems like the
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: team's kind of over the place. Yeah, very seems very
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: much all over the place. Around'm like, okay, this could
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: like he might maybe he's not the guy that should
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: be in that chair. I don't know what the meetings
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: are like. I don't know what he's like when he
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: is checking guys, is even checking guys or is he
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: just talking about offense the whole time or talking about
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: play calls and everything else. I don't know those things.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: But just the ripple effect of seeing all the antics
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: from the players and everything that's out there publicly surrounding
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: a team. We know what a good culture and a
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: good team operates like when you're losing, how everybody's butted up,
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: has each other's back. It doesn't feel like that, Miami.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: No, with Mike McDaniels. The worst part about that is
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: is like when you have success so early as being
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: being a new head coach, you feel like he didn't
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: establish his own culture, like he didn't put his thumb
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: on the pulse say this is what we're gonna do.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: This is we're not gonna do. And it feels good
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: because you're winning right away, the creativity, all the things.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: But when stuff starts as spirals, exactly what you said
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: about Bill Belichick now the things that made him uniquely
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: him kind of give like a It's like the step
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: I would say that fark seems kind of fucked up
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: now a little bit. That's kind of like the vibe
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: you're getting in that sense when it comes to the
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Indianapolis culture. On the other side, though, they're dropping a
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: thirty burger on there with Danny Dimes a couple of
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: weeks ago when they made Daniel Jones to the starting
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: quarterback for the Colts. Twitter, the whole world is burning
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: the place to the ground now all of a sudden
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: seems like it's a good move. Well, how do you
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: feel if you're in Indianapolis Colts building right now.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: It's another great example. When you win, everything you do
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: is right, everything outfit you wear is fun, Every decision
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: you make is the right one. Like the NFL really
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: all professional sports, but really the NFL is the ultimate
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: example of winning cures everything. If you're having a bad
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: day and there's chaos going on, and you've got conflict
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: and you've got controversy, and the best thing you can
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: do on Sunday is just go win, because everyone walks
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: back into the locker room and into the offices in
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: the building on Monday just takes a deep breath and
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: all of a sudden, it's not that big of a deal.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: And the guy who it just it alleviates so much
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: of the pressure. So Indianapolis is another great example. They
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: wanted to run Shane Steichen and Ballard out of India.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: They wanted to run him out of the country as alone. Indianapolis,
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: how do you draft this guy? You give up on him?
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: How do you pick Daniel Jones? We've all seen him
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: and they're like, yeah, guys, we drafted Anthony Richardson, it
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: didn't work. Maybe it works somewhere else. We're taking the
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: hit for that. I give him a lot of credit,
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Like that's hard to admit mistake. It's hard in the NFL.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: How many teams and you guys have probably been on
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: teams like this. I know I've been around it. How
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: many teams have an essence, signed their own demise because
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: they refuse to admit they signed the wrong guy, they
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: hired the wrong coach, that they just can't admit failure
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: and say we're gonna rip the band aid off and
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: move forward. They prolong it because are so sensitive to
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: perception and they're so insecure that they in essence say
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: we're gonna stick to what we trust. He's our guy,
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: he's our guy, and then we all get fired, and
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: we all get cut and we all lose our job.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: So I give him a lot of credit for trusting
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: their instincts. Daniel Jones, in their mind gave them the
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: best chance to win, and certainly yesterday for one week
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: now this week, yeah, yeah, week one, they looked like
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: they were right. And it's gonna take a lot of
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: the heat off them in Indianapolis and across the country
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: and all because you win, just go win and you
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: can do anything you want.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's absolutely, it's a week to week basis.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: It's like two like you we bring up when we're
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: talking about McDaniel, and then we have the example of
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: Bill Belichick. It's like, yeah, when the place was on fire,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: obviously until he got let go, but when Brady was there,
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: anytime the place was on fire about everything, that's the
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: one thing they did. It's like, oh, Bill chick, he's
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: he's saying this, he's saying that, like the play, it's
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: way worse off than what he's making.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: It seem to be.
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: But New England went out there and shut everybody up immediately.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, speaking of shutting people up, when you
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: see Aaron Rodgers go twenty two for thirty for two
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: hundred and forty four yards and four touchdowns, do you
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: think to yourself, maybe I should get back out there.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: No, but I am happy for him because I don't
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: know if anybody comes under fire more so than that guy.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: And I've always liked Aaron. I've always had a good
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: relationship with Aaron. And listen, he brings on some of
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: it himself because he frankly doesn't care, and I always
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: respect that about him. He speaks his mind. He doesn't
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: care if you believe him. He doesn't care if you
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: agree with him, and I respect that. I thought his
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: year in New York last year was better than people
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: thought it was.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: Yeah, he almost took for four thousand last.
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: Than Week eighteen, so we called his last game and
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Week eighteen last year, they hosted the Dolphins, and Aaron
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: was awesome. I mean, he had a great game. He
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: was ripping it. He looked like Aaron Rodgers of a
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: couple of years ago. And I just had a funny
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: feeling leaving that stadium, like this guy ain't done yet.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Like he's got too much pride, he cares too much
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: about like his legacy and what he's built. So to
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: come out there and get like the full circle moment
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: of going back to New York beating the Jets, playing
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: really well, I was happy for him. I think if
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: they can, if that defense gets to where they usually are,
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: I think yesterday giving up when they give up thirty
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: to to the Jets, I think that's probably not their expectation.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: That defense has been their strength. But if he can
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: play at or near that level, they enter the conversation
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: in the a f C as a team that can
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: contend with the big bugs.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: I mean, you're sitting with two guys that actually picked
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: them to win the AFC North this year. Because of that,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: you're ahead of the you're ahead of the tur We
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: try to be that way. I got one more do
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: everything else?
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: No, go ahead and do your one more, because I
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: would hate to take up you know, this week one,
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: I know we're fired to coach some ball.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Oh that's right, Oh they have a bye. He's got
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: self scouting team. Yeah, Joe Burrow and the Bengals. And
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: first off, I've got even a couple of flowers of
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: Joe Flacco. He had two picks in the game, but
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: the few picks were really his fault. Joe Burrow, for
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: the first time since twenty twenty one, is one tozer
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: after Week one. Are the Bengals back or the Bengals
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: gonna win at all?
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: Is it over?
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: I'll be honest, I only caught the highlights. I saw
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: that that Cleveland missed an extra point and like a
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: really short field goal.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yeah, is that right?
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: That is? I mean they could have lost to Cleveland,
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: but they didn't. And again I'm the first to say,
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: you never apologize for how you win. It's so damn
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: hard to win in the NFL. You take them how
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: you can get them. I'm very encouraged at the job
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: Al Golden brought in as the new defensive coordinator. Was
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: that Notre Dame now comes to the NFL, and that
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: was the big question mark. Is ken Cincinnati play a
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: lick of defense to go along with that offense? And
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: then yesterday, at least from the box scorer and the score, again,
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: I didn't catch much of the actual game, but they
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: didn't put up a ton of points. So I think
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: the encouraging thing is the defense seems to have gotten
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: better again for at least one week. And I know
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: it was the Browns that offense with Joe Burrow and
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: Jamar Chase like they're gonna get rolling, like they're gonna
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: find their stride offensively. I'm confident in that. So that's
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: always been their issue. Can they play complimentary defense to
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: go along with that Joe Burrow led offense? And if
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: they can, there's another AFC team. And what we're finding
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: is because the AFC has so many good quarterbacks, you're
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: competitive and you are relevant if you have a marquee quarterback.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: And you look at the Chargers and the job that
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: Hardball's done with Justin Herbert in a relatively short amount
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: of time. I thought they looked great this week. There's
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: a lot of really good AFC quarterbacks and it's going
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: to keep a lot of AFC teams relevant as a result.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. I didn't catch much of the game either,
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: but when you look at the statue and everything else,
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: Joe Burrow did not have a big game, Jamar Chase
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: t Higgins very few catches, But then you look at
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: the box score and you see two interceptions from the
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Bengals defense. Oh, defense kind of helped win them that game.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: To where you're one to oh and you were talking
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: about it earlier, Greg, to where after week one you
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: take a big deep breath, you can coach, you can
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: get rolling. You're starting off one, and oh, but optimism defensively,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: Like I'm sitting there and I'm looking out and like, oh,
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: Bengals had a couple of picks, Like their defense might
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: be there. They're going to continue to get better with
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: first year decordinator coming from Notre Dame. But you already know,
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: like you sit there and you look at the stat
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: sheet with with t Higgins, Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow,
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: and you don't even worry about that because you're like,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: these boys are gonna get.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Yeah, they're gonna start going in a crazy way. You say,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: get that week one out of the way.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: Yeah, which you got to get it out of the way.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: But you hate to think we got this one out
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: of the way. If you're the Baltimore Ravens blowing a
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: fifteen point lead, yeah, yeah, fourth.
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: Quarter, that's that's a tough one.
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: Yes, I'll be honest.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: That was a catastrophe.
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: Just killing time to go catch my Red Eye last night,
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: you know, you know Red Eyes. Like my game ended
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: at four local and my flight was until eleven thirty.
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: So you're like you're like seeing backwards. You're like in
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: your room, you're like in the twilight zone, killing time
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: to go to the airport. I fell asleep, woke up
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: to go to the airport and didn't even realize the
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: Bills had won until I was driving. I was like,
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: I'm gonna check it with I wonder what the final was.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: And I looked at it like five times. I couldn't
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: even believe that Buffalo came back. Josh Allen is just
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: an absolutely oh my god.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: I mean you don't watch that game at all, and
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: at any point until about three minutes left in the
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: fourth you're like, yeah, the Ravens are running away with this.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, three months up and
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: the fourth they're like down by four or five or six,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: whatever it is. I mean five minutes before then, my
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: wife said, hey, are you going to watch the whole game?
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: I was like, now, the Ravens kind of putting it
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: on my mind as well. Just go to bed tonight
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: and catch up what happened later. And then I look
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: back and I'm like, oh my god, Josh Allen really
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: is him? Also my super Bowl pick? Also my Super
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: Bowl pick?
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: Did Josh Allen follow up an MVP season with like
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: the greatest Week one exclamation point of all time.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: Of all time?
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Especially against the guy.
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: Against the guy that you know half the thought you know,
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: he's kind of like a fifty to fifty split and
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: you can make a great argument for Lamar and Josh
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: last year rightfully so. And then you match up against
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: each other in a primetime shootout to kick off the
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: season and you win forty one forty and you are
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: every single play was based on Josh Allen. Yes, and
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: he doesn't get one playoff.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: Yeah right yeah, And before the season it's like based
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: on last year defenses, they have the number one defense
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: and the conversations going into this season, they seem better
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: on the roster than they were last year. But to
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: put up over forty that was insane. Married and actress
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: in the off season.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, every reason to go taking the guy is on fire. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Josh is. He's doing crazy things. Friend of the show,
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: friend of the show, friend of the show. Also friend
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: of the show, Gregles. So let's give him a broud
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: of a plausum, thank you for coming on, giving you
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: bring incredible can't wait to get you every single week
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: on Mondays. And thank you brother. We'll talk to you sir.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: And two we'll have to get in a group chat
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: so we can identify I, Hey, who's the opponent next week?
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Start building some good storylines and let's see if we
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: can't get Greg to give us some bulletimore by the opponent. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: like something in a speech, something to where we can
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: say Greg talking a lot of ship about the about
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: the Eagles they're about to play on Wednesday.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, fun tool bullet like that.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: I appreciate you guys. See you guys, what a guy.
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: What a guy.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: I can't wait for the just the youth football all
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: season long. Luke's in that. I I love it. I
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: wanted to ask him to, like, what's in these first
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: couple of weeks. Have you given a pregame door you're
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: driving home?
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: You're like?
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: That was kind of that got the boys going because
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: you could, you could, you could? I think he'd be
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: cool with it. But you clip certain parts and like
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: you know, try to build up some drama. And we
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: got to get out there, have to get out there
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: for one.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: Of their gamers.
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: I talked to my buddy, who is, like I told
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: you guys in our pre production meeting, he's in like
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: that Charlotte League. They play each other the week of
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: the Bust and Ball September eighteenth.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: Big week. Are they a good football team?
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: My buddy's team? Yeah, I have no clue.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: That's what we got to find out. We got to
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: start getting on the inside of this league out there
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: Charlotte will you.
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: Had the moment because we can't hear the interview.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: I was curious, you guys could hear I.
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: Was trying to put it through my headphones, but it
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: was it was too quiet.
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: But Greg was are we even this is recording or no? Yeah, okay,
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: Greg was talking. I don't know what he was talking about.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: And you have your.
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: Headphones on so you can't hear yourself either, and you
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: hit this dude, it was you keep talking about all
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: these Montsori schools.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: At the top of the glass.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Sorry, way too way too more developed for my dumb ass.
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: I was in public, just trying to be the line leader,
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: going to bathroom.
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: Run into the lunch room.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: But yeah, you at that.
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: No, he was fun though. He was fun. That'll be
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: that'll be fun to do. That'll be fun to do.
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: Every week we gotta go to the their biggest game
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: of the year.
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: I know it sounds like it's this week.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: Yeah, they're on bye week. This week, bye week, bye
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: week this week. Next week they play whoever the team is.
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: Oh, so I guess my boys team is pretty good
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: because he said, like our next week's game is.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: It will be the week of the bust and ball. Damn,
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: we are close. I didn't realize. I guess September eighth.
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: I think my buddy is the I want to say
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: he's like wide receivers and running backs, coach.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: Wide receivers and running backs, coach skill positions. I guess
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: he's got and two of you for everybody, for everybody listening.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: Tomorrow is Jared Demon's birthday.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Demon's birthdays in the chat.
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: Just catching up on just a good old fashioned Greg Hang.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Dude, he's the man. I love it. I absolutely love it.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: Seems like he's doing the world tour right now too,
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: which is incredible. Do we want to head a couple
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: more games before we get out of here?
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: Where? Do we want to wrap it up?
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Do you want to hit like one or two more
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: games before your roll?
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: We could? We could also do some more tear talk.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: We only did one tier talk thus far.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: Quickly, I'll just say this with the Chargers and Chiefs,
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: incredible to see Jim harball. Everyone and their mother's talking
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: about the Charges. What they want to do. They want
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: to run the ball. They're going to run down your throats.
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: They open up that game using Justin Herbert. They threw
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: it all over the yard. It feels to me, especially
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: with Xavier Worthy going down the Chiefs might be a
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: little bit more danger than we expect.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: How about Quentin Johnston?
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: How about Quentin Johnston.
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: Two touddies, two toddies, And I agree with you. It's
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: going to be a shaky year for the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: Just buckle up, buckle up.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: I don't share the same sentiment. They still have Andy Reads,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: the head coaches still have Travis Kills.
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: They do.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: They still have Patrick Mahomes, they still have Josh sim
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: thirty second overall pick who I thought had a good game.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: A couple of penalties.
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: Here and there, struggled a little bit.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: Joan Taylor. He I mean plagued with plagued with the
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: penalties over and over and over again. But you know what,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: You're right. But they're gonna have to get grittier wins.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: Will I get it.
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: They haven't had a division. The Raiders offense looks good,
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: you know, Smith and Chip Kelly look good on that
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: Raiders offense. Chargers, you already said it. And the Broncos,
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: the Broncos are going to be nice.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: Broncos didn't look too great. They were what four and
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: a half point favorites against the Titans.
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: I think they were bigger than that, and they struggled again.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: They struggled against the Titans. But I think the Titans
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: showed up in a big way. I mean they're at
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: home and it's week one. You're never as good as
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: you think you are. You're never as bad as you
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: think you are. After week one, that is.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: I think with the Chiefs, you can cut year.
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: I did.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: The is gonna be the most exciting thing to watch.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Ryan Raikel or sorry, Brian Matthew Raikel Matthew right Kel
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: says thoughts and Aaron Rodgers after Week one, Dog, Yeah,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: four touchdowns, that was incredible. Dice him up all over
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: the field. DK Metcalf is gonna be huge from all year.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Jonal Smith, I think him and the marriage Arthur Arthur
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: Smith is gonna.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: Be just four tuddies. Bro, I'm telling you, I said
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: it before the season started. Four thousand's four thousand yard
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: season coming for Aaron Rodgers, and I love that. The
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: reporter after the game's ask him and he's like, I'm
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: happy I beat everybody associated with the Jase, anybody.
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: Associated with the Jets. And there's a lot of things
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: that we're gonna say on the show throughout the year
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: that are gonna be stupid, dumb picking the Ravens on
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: ESPN probably was one of them.
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: No, I stand by everything I say. None of them
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: are dumb.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: But one thing we're looking really good on right now
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: is the AFC North champions and that's that's the Pittsburgh stear.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Because they get their defense in order, which they will,
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: they're gonna be uh, they're gonna be stunts.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: Tier talk from d Sacorus sixty five Tier talk. I
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: think the boys need to have a milk check play
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: of the week. The one that's standing out and jumping
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: out to me right now is that six yard recession
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: reception from Cam Scott.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, trucking three guys on to the side.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: Did you guys see the catch by the Lions guy.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: It's kind of garbage time, but yeah, the one hander
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: the Odell type and got his foot.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: Do we know his name so we can shout him out?
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: Isaac Isaac to Slaw.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: Isaac to Slaw. Another milkcheck highlight coming out.
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: Another milkcheck. Also, going back to Skataboo, there was a
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: there was a pass protection. They slid to the left,
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: a backer came right through that a gap, but he
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: put his face on that motherfucker. He put the Yeah,
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: he targeted, He targeted the defender is what he did. Skataboo.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: I'm not sure how long he'll be with us, but buddy,
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: I love ze six yard reception.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: I came up off the couch with that one.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: Yeah, tear talk from Mason Tisdale. Oh four, Derrick Henry
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: is about six hundred yards eleven four twenty three yards
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: away from matching his career school stats twelve thousand cer
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: high school stats, high yeah, high school stats, and tenty
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: four yards. That's a great comment, and I agree. I
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: think if you're the Ravens, you look at the run game,
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: you go, we got no problems there. Boys. It looked
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: good all around there.
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: I think you're giving that stat the light it deserves.
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: His high school stats four years, he's that's twelve thousand
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: yards in four years. He's been playing in the NFL
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: for like nine ten years and he's only at eleven
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: ten years.
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: Two.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: You see the stat they put up about his touchdowns.
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: He scored fifty five touchdowns in his senior year.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I'm talking about in the NFL as well. Yeah, dude,
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: him him, in college, him, him in high school, him
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: in the NFL. All of it's really good. Like he is,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: he's the only football player ever run for two thousand
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: yards in high school, two thousand in college, in two
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: thousand in the NFL, Like the guy is an alien.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: And when you're watching the Bills the Bill's Ravens game,
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: they put up the stats of his touchdowns and he's
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: got like one hundred and four hundred and six now whatever.
- 1:32:47Speaker 4: It is, he's at one o seven just passed general.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: Well, okay, one oh seven one away, And every single
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: person on that do besides him is in the Hall
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: of Fame other than Adrian Peterson, who is not yet eligible.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: So Derek Henry first All Fame bucket. You heard it
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: here first on Bust with the Boys.
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: Should there be this is from a d fish. Should
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: there be any concern after Ashton Genty's performance, I personally
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: have none, but people are always talking hashtag tier talk.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: I personally absolutely not.
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: To me.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: The question mark is on the offensive line. They will
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: need to pack a run game eventually, because the Raiders
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: do a incredible job of the play action bang eights
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: on that week, cash right over the backer's head. I
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: thought Chip Kelly, the way that they're shifting their formations, reloading,
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: motioning everything else. I think the Raiders are gonna be tough,
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: But no concern with Ashton Genty. To me, the concern
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: is more like getting the old line going.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, with the with the offensid Jenna Smith, the way
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: he was throwing the ball over the art. If he
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: continues doing that, they will earn the right to run
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: the ball of ashing gent because they'll start moving more
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: guys out of the box. I like Ashton Genty.
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: Rock Bauers injury, though, yeah, apparently it's nothing. Apparently it's nothing.
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: When they came out of the game, everything's gonna be okay.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: Thirty eight yard reception goes down, has a little niski,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: and now all of a sudden they're saying, so a
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: little tweak.
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: I've seen a couple of things didn't come back in rumor.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: Pete Carroll sent in a postgame pres coommens he wanted
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: to go back in the game, but the trainers did
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: not love love. Hey, we need him.
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: That's a check highlight guy right there. You need him
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: for the old White squad, he text me, he said.
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: Brock Bowers out season over for our fantasy team, because
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: everybody at first.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: A cl yeah, a cl A c L. But then
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: I saw it could be an mcl sprain. But if
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: he's saying he wanted to go back in the game,
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: that gives me a lot of That gives me a
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: lot of a lot of optimism.
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: Crazy stat for brock Bowers. Through eighteen career games, he
- 1:34:32Speaker 6: now has more games with ninety plus receiving yards than
- 1:34:35Speaker 6: he has with games with less than fifty. Seven games
- 1:34:39Speaker 6: over ninety yards and only six under fifty dog insane dog.
- 1:34:44Speaker 6: He loves steak and he lovesta.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: He loves steak. He loves loves his red meat. Matthew
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Patrick at matt pat zero hashtag tear talk with all
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: the darts. I've been inhaling due to the Steelers run defense.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: Do I need to do I need a Costco sized
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: car of cigarettes for the next six months. I think
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: the answer is no. I think the answer is no.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: I think they had an uncharacteristic day. You never overreact
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: in a week one situation. Steelers historically have a great defense.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: I think they'll get it together.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and high Smith jumping off the stat sheet with
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: all you know, all the attention that TJ. Watt's gonna
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: be getting high Smith. He's healthy, he's ready to go.
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: And also, you don't know what you're gonna get you
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: you aren't familiar with what you're gonna get with coach
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: Aaron Glenn and Justin Fields in that week one from
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: the Jets, I thought the Jets played their asses off
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: enough to win. They end up not getting a doubt,
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: but I thought Justin Field looked really good.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: And if you watch the NFL locker room with myself,
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: will comp to Delaney Walker, Clay Matthews. Somebody who was
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: six to seven actually mentioned Alex Highsmith and how much
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: of a game changer he is when he's in the game,
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: competed when Watson the game. Something to keep in mind
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: when you're looking at your betting score.
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: This one's from z T thirty seven to fifty eight
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: Tier Talk hashtag Tier Talk greatest regular season football games
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: of all time. I think that's a great overreaction on
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: a Monday, I will say the games were electric all
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: week and long, all Sunday long. Multiple times rus want
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: me to play as taking. I'm like, sweetheart, this is
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: you see these two minute drills on the screen right now,
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: let's finish these up. Let's I'll go hide for you.
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: But by the way, she gives herself up every time
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: when I'm like all right, read or not here I comments,
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: He's like you found me, and I'm like you kind
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: of just fucking ran out of the band.
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: That Falcons Bucks game ending is yeah, my butt fouls
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: a Falcons fan and he is ready for him. Mecca
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: is gonna be dude.
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: He is gonna be fucking nice. And also shout up
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: Bigger Mayfield coming in getting a game winning drive. That's unbelievable,
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: and save the damn parlay. We need that in a
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: big way. Falcons. Great parlay. Clump, Yeah, fantastic, great parlay. First,
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: your Sunday night football parlay was amazing. If it wasn't
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: for you know, eighty points, beational game generation.
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: The under was beating the first half.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: I'll tell you this, next time those two teams see
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: each other, I guarantee. I can't guarantee anything, I can
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: almost promise you it's gonna be an undergame. Happens every
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: single time. You see a couple of years ago with
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: the Chiefs Bills, how they had this massive overgame in
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: the playoffs. And they go play everyone's like over over
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: over defensive game. So when you see him in the playoffs,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: remember it's an under game.
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: Outside of that game, it was a massive unders week.
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: Sick Jets Pittsburgh game two. Yeah, those two games I
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: think are the only.
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: Two week one week one unders. You're gonna hit so
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: so much.
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: That Peyton Manning commercial with his son Marshall, it truly
- 1:37:34Speaker 5: showed to me, like the difference in generations of quarterbacks
- 1:37:36Speaker 5: with Eli Manning and Peyton Manning being the Thursday night
- 1:37:39Speaker 5: game and seeing how much more athletic and probably talented
- 1:37:43Speaker 5: Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are and then Peyton and
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: Eli is crazy, yeah, because it wasn't that long ago,
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: but it's like now, these quarterbacks are freaks.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: It's incredible too, Like the mobility of all the quarterbacks,
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: like the movie at Sam Darnold Jared Dolphin, kind of
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: the last of a dying bree when it comes to
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: sitting in the pocket. Everybody, dude, every in college can run.
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Everybody who's coming up and is going to be drafted
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: to can run to some extent like mobile quarterbacks. You're
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: now playing for eleven, not just for ten and when you.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: When Mahomes having that little side arm where he was
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: kind of sideways and then Friday night football game.
- 1:38:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw something a tweet that was like Patrick
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: Mahomes is if everything Jameis Winston tried to do but
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: it actually worked. Say it again, like what Patrick Mahomes do,
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: like that little play, that little side thing, like Jameis
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: Winston's tried that, but he throws a pick on that
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: sig six.
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean Patrick, Si Patrick. That's why you're like, yeah,
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: you can't count the Chiefs out, but they're from a
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: talent standpoint, like they're hurting in a lot of ways
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: right now, especially if Xavier were his shoulders in trouble.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: Tree Hill, Tyreek Hill by week five, Tyreek Hill by
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: week five to the Chiefs, I'm calling it now. I'm
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: calling that now. Boys, think about it, right, what upset?
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: They just lost their fastest guy, Xavier Worthy, who knows
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: how long he'll be out.
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: Have the home.
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: You get Tyreek Hill back in that Chief's uniform. Boys,
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: I'm telling they might be back. They might be back.
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: All right? Are we good on it? Is there anything
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: you guys want to get out? Before we get out,
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: I'll just.
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: I'll share another tier talk overreaction. This one comes for
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: Tanner Haggarty. Tear talk is a time for Baltimore to
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: part ways with old Johnny boy. He seems to be
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: holding the team back from succeeding, seems to take his
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: foot off the gas late in games when play calling
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: costing the team wins. That's a great overreaction.
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: It's great. I mean that he's talking about John Harball.
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: That is a very very hard way for the Ravens
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: to lose in that fashion. It's like when we were
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: on Get Up and they're like, is this mentally going
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: to take a toll? And it's like, dude, it's Week one.
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: But if any game could have could potentially have a
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: mental toll, it would have been the way that they
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: lost a fifteen point lead. A terrible fashion to lose
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: a football game. But that roster is loaded. Defense has
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: got to figure it out.
- 1:39:48Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: It's massive gut check time because you give up over
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: five hundred total yards and you got all those pieces.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: Of it you said there were statistically number one in
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: all categories last year.
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: Yeah, the Ravens defense, I mean they are nasty, you know,
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: so gotta crutch tape.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: Gott a crutch tape. I'll say this, if you're a
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: Ravens fan, if you're on the Ravens coaching staff, do
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: you do yourself a favor. Hold on to Kyle Hamilton
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: as long as you can. That kid is a fucking stud.
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: He is all over the field.
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: He was a all white team player two years ago,
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: was he Yeah? But then after a game he was
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: on uh he did a video, was like, no, he's
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: on the other side.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Damn. Well yeah, it's kind of obvious. Yeah, but you yeah,
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: I see you trying.
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: To stan it again. Still yeah, still we still had him.
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: For Hamilton Yeah. Five a school in Arizona. All right,
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: that's all the time we have for you today on Monday.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and we will be dropping tomorrow, busting with the
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: boys back tomorrow for our interview. Can we just say
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: who it is or do we gotta do that?
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: No, let's say who it is. Let's say who it is.
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: Dom Husker fans. Yeah, after that weekend are going to
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: love this.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and we do ask him about all those controversial things.
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: You'll get those answers.
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, see you tomorrow, Love you, big eggs,
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: tidy kisses.
