- 1:16Speaker 2: definitely can be, but understanding of professionals routine shows us
- 1:20Speaker 2: how they achieve their success little by little, day after day.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It's like banking with P and C Bank. It might
- 1:27Speaker 2: seem boring to safe plan and make calculated decisions with
- 1:30Speaker 2: your bank, but keeping your money boring is what helps
- 1:33Speaker 2: you live or more happily fulfilled life. P and C
- 1:36Speaker 2: Bank Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly Boring since
- 1:41Speaker 2: eighteen sixty five is a service mark of the PNC
- 1:44Speaker 2: Financial Service Group, Inc. P and C Bank National Association
- 1:48Speaker 2: Member FDIC.
- 1:51Speaker 3: What that leads me to my next question. I'm not
- 1:53Speaker 3: sure if you're ready to answered it or not, but
- 1:54Speaker 3: I was going to ask about student loan and what
- 1:57Speaker 3: the administration has done for Obviously, there's million of Americans
- 2:00Speaker 3: that once again are suffocated was doing long debt and
- 2:03Speaker 3: it's really crippled their lives.
- 2:06Speaker 1: So you know, I'll tell you we went bolder with
- 2:12Speaker 1: our plan and for student loan debt relief, and then
- 2:16Speaker 1: the court cut some of the stuff that we were doing,
- 2:21Speaker 1: but we have not stopped, and so we are through
- 2:24Speaker 1: whatever and all of the powers that we have, through
- 2:27Speaker 1: the executive orders and things of that nature, been forgiving
- 2:30Speaker 1: again up to one hundred and fifty billion dollars of
- 2:33Speaker 1: student loan debt. What I have seen in my travels
- 2:37Speaker 1: around what this means for the people who have applied
- 2:41Speaker 1: and figured it out, it's extraordinary. I mean, I've met
- 2:44Speaker 1: people who have been forgiven you know, three digit thousands
- 2:48Speaker 1: of dollars of debt. I've met teachers who've been teaching
- 2:52Speaker 1: for twenty something years carrying that debt and not giving
- 2:55Speaker 1: up the profession of teaching is but we don't pay
- 2:57Speaker 1: them enough as it is, and you know, and so
- 3:02Speaker 1: thinking about that, and let's think about you know, there
- 3:06Speaker 1: were those who resisted the policy from the beginning and said, well,
- 3:09Speaker 1: why do they need they should pay off their loans,
- 3:11Speaker 1: why do they need it forgiven? Well, let's go back
- 3:14Speaker 1: to the example of public servants, nurses, firefighters, teachers. Yes,
- 3:20Speaker 1: we don't pay them enough, and do we People who
- 3:23Speaker 1: have a calling, for example, teach other people's children, who
- 3:30Speaker 1: pay for school supplies out of their own back pocket,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and the benefit they give to all of us as
- 3:40Speaker 1: a society. Should we not think about that? And think
- 3:44Speaker 1: about the fact that we want them to stay in
- 3:46Speaker 1: that noble profession. I think about the number of young
- 3:49Speaker 1: people who have a calling to do that kind of work,
- 3:52Speaker 1: similar kind of work, who have to go to some
- 3:57Speaker 1: other kind of job because they need to pay off
- 3:59Speaker 1: their loans. When we want that people would be able
- 4:03Speaker 1: to follow their passion, especially when it benefits all of
- 4:06Speaker 1: us in the Uplift society. So the reasons behind the
- 4:10Speaker 1: policy include just that. And again, let's just let people
- 4:14Speaker 1: know that they don't have to have graduated in order
- 4:17Speaker 1: to get their debt forgiven, especially if that might mean
- 4:21Speaker 1: that if they want to go back to school, they
- 4:23Speaker 1: can go back and know that they can afford to
- 4:25Speaker 1: go back.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Well, this is coming from a teacher, I say, educator.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Now turn entrepreneur.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I couldn't agree with you more. Pay our teachers first,
- 4:35Speaker 2: I just want to thank you for this. This has
- 4:37Speaker 2: been an amazing opportunity. But we do have entrepreneurs here
- 4:40Speaker 2: in the building. Where our entrepreneurs are there.
- 4:42Speaker 3: They gore, oh, big Dave cheeseteaks that Isaac Hayes in
- 4:48Speaker 3: the back South Isaac, he can't sink as good as
- 4:51Speaker 3: his dad. Though, No, no.
- 4:53Speaker 2: We wouldn't want them to either what piece of advice
- 4:57Speaker 2: would you like to leave this audience? Like I said,
- 4:59Speaker 2: this is Atlanta is such a hope of innovation for
- 5:02Speaker 2: many businesses. But what would you like to leave this
- 5:05Speaker 2: audience with in terms of advice for entrepreneurship.
- 5:09Speaker 1: That you are worthy of and entitled to receive an
- 5:17Speaker 1: investment in your dream and your ambition, and to seek
- 5:24Speaker 1: out the resources that exist. And we're trying to make
- 5:29Speaker 1: it easier for you to find those resources, but seek
- 5:33Speaker 1: them out and know, you know, it's interesting, there's some
- 5:37Speaker 1: studies that show that black entrepreneurs are often less likely
- 5:43Speaker 1: than others to actually apply for a loan for fear
- 5:48Speaker 1: they will be rejected. That is pretty significant data that
- 5:53Speaker 1: supports that point. So part of my advice is go
- 5:57Speaker 1: for it, apply for it, and and and all, and
- 6:03Speaker 1: get the word out right. We don't we don't lack
- 6:06Speaker 1: for really incredible vision and and and and entrepreneurial creative thought.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And so it's just a matter of like, let's not
- 6:17Speaker 1: let society or history impede or silence those ambitions. And
- 6:26Speaker 1: then I would urge everyone to know, for example, community
- 6:30Speaker 1: lenders and to seek them out. I was just earlier
- 6:33Speaker 1: at Rice and what's happening there in terms of helping
- 6:38Speaker 1: young entrepreneurs get ready and then have access. I'm at
- 6:42Speaker 1: this young brother, he's now he's now going he's got
- 6:45Speaker 1: a water company and it is now going to be
- 6:48Speaker 1: selling at Walmart. Right, And so there are institutions and
- 6:54Speaker 1: places that are available to you, groups that are available
- 6:57Speaker 1: mentors here, I would say to the entrepreneurs are here,
- 7:00Speaker 1: make sure you talk to the person that sit next
- 7:02Speaker 1: to you, because they may just be that person who
- 7:04Speaker 1: is willing to mentor you or willing to give you
- 7:07Speaker 1: some advice about how they achieve their success. But don't
- 7:12Speaker 1: give up because we need you, Our country needs you,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and that's how we're going to be strong. And I
- 7:24Speaker 1: would I want to just put a fine point on it.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Be proud of your ambition. Be proud of your ambition,
- 7:33Speaker 1: have ambition, dream with ambition. Do not ever be burdened
- 7:40Speaker 1: by other people's limited ability to see what is possible.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Don't let that burden you. You know, my mother always
- 7:50Speaker 1: used to say to me, don't you ever let anybody
- 7:52Speaker 1: tell you who you are. You tell them who you are. Right,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I would love to say, hiied, no for breakfast. I
- 8:04Speaker 1: don't hear no until maybe the tenth time. Don't hear
- 8:07Speaker 1: it No, don't hear it no.
- 8:10Speaker 4: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 8:14Speaker 4: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 8:18Speaker 4: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 8:22Speaker 4: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 8:26Speaker 4: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 8:30Speaker 4: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 8:33Speaker 4: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 8:38Speaker 4: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 8:42Speaker 4: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 8:45Speaker 4: are here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 8:49Speaker 4: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will
- 8:53Speaker 4: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 8:57Speaker 4: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 9:05Speaker 4: border and families will be protected. Sponsored by the United
- 9:09Speaker 4: States Department of Homeland Security,
