- 1:32All right.

- 1:36But do it anyway.
- 1:38Series five, show 36, episode number six.
- 1:44Before I welcome you to another show, I
- 1:45want to talk to you about another coffee
- 1:47shop in New Jersey, because that's what we
- 1:49do on Sundays and Thursdays.
- 1:53The one that I want to talk to
- 1:55you about right now is an interesting coffee
- 1:57shop.
- 1:58It's actually called Tree House Coffee.
- 2:04It's in Jersey City.
- 2:05It's on 205 Brunswick Street.
- 2:08And yeah, it's actually, they have a couple
- 2:11of locations.
- 2:11They have one in Jersey City.
- 2:12They have one right on Brunswick Street.
- 2:15They also have another one on Bright Street.
- 2:18They have another one on Westside Avenue, 434A
- 2:21Westside Avenue.
- 2:22They also have one on Pavana Avenue in
- 2:25Jersey City, 615 Pavana Avenue.
- 2:27So it looks like they're mostly in Jersey
- 2:29City.
- 2:30You can order online, you can pick up,
- 2:32they have all kinds of different things.
- 2:33So they have an online shop where they
- 2:35have things like Single Origin Ethiopia.
- 2:38They've got Melandro.
- 2:41They've got some interesting things.
- 2:42So they have that.
- 2:43They call it shop coffee.
- 2:45So I guess they have their own blends.
- 2:47They do delivery.
- 2:49So you can order at the different, tell
- 2:50which store you want.
- 2:52And basically you can order things like, they
- 2:54have one, something called a Bees Knees Latte,
- 2:57a Cara Maple Latte, a Strawberry White Mocha
- 3:00Latte, a Cold Brew, a New Orleans Style
- 3:03Latte.
- 3:04So again, a shout out to you guys.

- 3:29All right, guys.
- 3:30So let's get right into the show.
- 3:31So this is series five, show number 36,
- 3:35and it's episode number six.
- 3:37So welcome everyone once again to the ever
- 3:39popular Inspirations for Your Life show.
- 3:42Who am I?
- 3:43Oh, sure.
- 3:43Let me let you know.
- 3:44I'm John C.
- 3:45Morley.
- 3:46I'm a serial entrepreneur.
- 3:47In case you guys did not know that,
- 3:49I am an engineer.
- 3:50I'm a marketing specialist, video producer, podcast host,
- 3:53coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at Montclair State
- 3:55University, passionate lifelong learner, and so grateful now
- 3:58to be a published author.
- 4:00In case you missed my book, it's Drain
- 4:02to Driven.
- 4:03Our master weekly topic is Stop Living a
- 4:06Life You Never Chose.
- 4:08Today I'm talking about being different and it
- 4:12will cost you, but do it anyway.
- 4:15Choosing your own path sounds exciting until people
- 4:19question it.
- 4:21Growth can cost approval, comfort, familiarity, and sometimes
- 4:25relationships, but conformity has a price too.
- 4:30Today I'm asking which price is actually worth
- 4:34paying.
- 4:35So let's get into our 30 points, shall
- 4:37we?
- 4:37Number one, let's understand one thing, and that
- 4:41is different choices attract opinions.
- 4:45When you choose differently, people notice, some will
- 4:48support you, and others will question you.
- 4:51Listen to useful feedback, but remember that an
- 4:54opinion isn't proof that your direction is wrong.
- 4:59Number two, stop expecting everyone to understand your
- 5:02path.
- 5:03They won't.
- 5:04Don't waste your energy.
- 5:06People see your choices through their own experiences
- 5:09and priorities.
- 5:11They never, or I should say they may
- 5:13never completely understand why something matters to you,
- 5:16but don't let that discourage you.
- 5:19You don't need universal understanding or approval to
- 5:22move forward in this world.
- 5:23Many people think you do, you don't.
- 5:25Number three, guys, thinking independently sometimes means disagreeing
- 5:31with the group.
- 5:32That can feel uncomfortable, but belonging shouldn't require
- 5:36surrendering your ability to think for yourself.
- 5:39I think that's a very important thing that
- 5:42a lot of people miss in our lives,
- 5:44so I want to make sure you're definitely
- 5:46aware of that.
- 5:48It's something that a lot of people miss,
- 5:49but it's something we need to pay definitely
- 5:51some attention to because it can really affect
- 5:54your life and where you're going.
- 5:56So that's very, very important.
- 5:59Remember that an opinion isn't proof that your
- 6:02direction is wrong.
- 6:03Number two, stop expecting everyone to understand your
- 6:06path, as I said.
- 6:07You don't need universal understanding to move forward.
- 6:10Number three, independence has a social cost.
- 6:13Yep.
- 6:14Thinking independently sometimes means disagreeing with the group.
- 6:17That can feel uncomfortable, but belonging shouldn't require
- 6:20surrendering your ability to think for yourself.
- 6:23Number four, choose authenticity over easy acceptance.
- 6:28Acceptance feels good, but ask what you're being
- 6:32accepted for.
- 6:34If belonging requires pretending, hiding, or shrinking yourself,
- 6:39the price may be too high.
- 6:41You don't want to go down that road.
- 6:43Number five, stop shrinking to make others comfortable.
- 6:46Don't automatically make your goals smaller, your ideas
- 6:49quieter, or your personality less visible because somebody
- 6:53else isn't comfortable with your growth.
- 6:56I think that's an important one.
- 6:58Let criticism sharpen rather than define you, okay?
- 7:02Criticism can contain useful information.
- 7:05Examine it.
- 7:06Learn from what's valid.
- 7:08And discard what isn't.
- 7:10Don't allow somebody else's criticism to become your
- 7:13identity.
- 7:15Number seven, accept that growth may change relationships.
- 7:20It could.
- 7:21When you change, some relationships may change too.
- 7:25The interests from them, routines, expectations, and priorities
- 7:30can shift a little or a lot.
- 7:34That doesn't automatically make the relationship a failure
- 7:36or a wrong direction.
- 7:38A stop is important.
- 7:42So number eight, stop asking permission to evolve.
- 7:45You don't need permission to learn, to improve,
- 7:47to change direction, to establish boundaries, or reconsider
- 7:50what you want.
- 7:52Responsible growth belongs to you.
- 7:55The sooner you understand that, the sooner you'll
- 7:57become successful.
- 7:58Number nine, become comfortable standing alone temporarily, okay?
- 8:02There may be moments when nobody immediately understands
- 8:05your decision.
- 8:07Temporary solitude doesn't prove you're wrong.
- 8:10Sometimes you're simply moving into unfamiliar territory.
- 8:14Number 10, choose conviction over popularity.
- 8:17Popularity tells you what receives approval.
- 8:21Conviction tells you what aligns with your principles.
- 8:25Know which one deserves more influence over your
- 8:28future.
- 8:29Number 11, stop explaining every unconventional decision.
- 8:34You don't owe everyone a detailed defense of
- 8:37your choices.
- 8:38Explain when communication matters, but don't spend your
- 8:41life convincing every observer that your path makes
- 8:45sense.
- 8:46Number 12, trust yourself enough to be questioned.
- 8:51Confidence isn't having everyone agree with you, okay?
- 8:55Let's be clear about that.
- 8:56It's examining your decisions honestly and still moving
- 8:59forward when your evidence, judgment, and values support
- 9:03them.
- 9:04That's a key point, but it also means
- 9:06sometimes you're going to be alone when you
- 9:07start.
- 9:08And I think that's the part that scares
- 9:09a lot of people.
- 9:10It's okay to be alone, all right, especially
- 9:13when you're getting started.
- 9:14Number 13, let results speak eventually.
- 9:18You don't always need to win the argument
- 9:20today.
- 9:21Consistent action and eventual results can communicate far
- 9:25more effectively than endless explanations.
- 9:29Number 14, stop returning to places you've outgrown.
- 9:33Familiar doesn't automatically mean right.
- 9:36Sometimes we return to old situations because they're
- 9:40comfortable even when we know they no longer
- 9:43fit who we're becoming.
- 9:45And that scares a lot of people, guys.
- 9:47I mean, that scares a lot of people.
- 9:49Number 15, let's learn to make peace with
- 9:53disappointing expectations.
- 9:55And you might say, John, how does that
- 9:57even work?
- 9:57How is it even possible?
- 9:58Well, someone may have imagined a different future
- 10:02for you.
- 10:03Respect their feelings, but remember that another person's
- 10:06expectations doesn't automatically become your obligations.
- 10:09This could be your friends, your family, or
- 10:13what have you.
- 10:15That's important, guys.
- 10:17Number 16, choose your future over temporary approval.
- 10:21Approval feels good.
- 10:23I will definitely match that, okay?
- 10:26And it feels good immediately, right?
- 10:28But alignment offer rewards you later.
- 10:31Don't exchange years of your future for a
- 10:34few moments of acceptance today.
- 10:36You don't need that.
- 10:37Number 17, stop hiding what makes you different.
- 10:40The qualities you once tried to hide, okay,
- 10:45may become some of your greatest strengths that
- 10:47you'll discover.
- 10:48Your experience, ideas, skills, and perspectives, they have
- 10:52value.
- 10:53But we need to learn how do we
- 10:56embrace them?
- 10:57How do we own them?
- 10:59And how do we operate when other people
- 11:02are not embracing our value?
- 11:03As I said, if you're coming in this
- 11:04world and asking for somebody to pat you
- 11:06on the back, go home, okay?
- 11:09It's nice to get a pat on the
- 11:10back.
- 11:10It's nice to get, you know, ego stroke
- 11:13once in a while.
- 11:13But you don't need that, okay?
- 11:16And that's falsality.
- 11:17That's not going to help you grow.
- 11:19Number 18, please learn how to build confidence
- 11:22without consensus.
- 11:25Everyone thinks you've got to do something because
- 11:28somebody else says to do it.
- 11:29The Joneses said to do it.
- 11:31The Wagners, you know, the bandwagon theory.
- 11:34But you are very smart.
- 11:36And you do not need a consensus to
- 11:38grow, to learn, or even be successful.
- 11:42If your confidence exists only when everyone agrees
- 11:45with you, it isn't stable.
- 11:47Guys, build confidence through preparation, evidence, experience, values,
- 11:55and responsible judgment.
- 11:57Anyone else trying to get you to do
- 11:59something, okay, is doing it for their own
- 12:03intentions.
- 12:05And if their intentions are not aligned with
- 12:07you, I think you've got to examine that
- 12:10a little closer.
- 12:11Number 19, let rejection redirect you.
- 12:15Don't let it discourage you.
- 12:17Rejection hurts.
- 12:18We've all been rejected, right?
- 12:20Rejection hurts, but it can provide information.
- 12:24Sometimes a closed door prevents you from spending
- 12:27years trying to belong somewhere that was never
- 12:29right for your future.
- 12:31I know that may sting, but I think
- 12:34the hardest thing for us to know tonight
- 12:37is that we have to admit that we
- 12:41need to make a change, okay?
- 12:43None of us are perfect, but when we
- 12:45admit that we want to be better, we
- 12:49want to change, we want to pivot.
- 12:51Number 20, guys, stop confusing loneliness with wrong
- 12:56directions.
- 12:56So many ads do this online, right?
- 12:59Feeling alone can be a difficult time, but
- 13:03loneliness isn't proof that your direction is wrong.
- 13:06I'm telling you right now.
- 13:08Change can create temporary distance before new relationships
- 13:12and opportunities will ever develop.
- 13:17That's important.
- 13:19Everyone wants everything tomorrow, but they don't realize
- 13:24that we have to first be that person,
- 13:30okay?
- 13:30And if you're wondering how to be it,
- 13:33you have to learn how to say no
- 13:35to some people, and you have to say
- 13:37yes to yourself more, but also realize that
- 13:39these other people around you may not like
- 13:42your success.
- 13:44That's okay.
- 13:45Be successful anyway.
- 13:47Number 21, find people who respect your growth.
- 13:51You don't need people who agree with everything
- 13:53you do.
- 13:54If I did, I wouldn't be successful.
- 13:56Find people who respect your development challenges and
- 14:02let them help you grow constructively, and don't
- 14:05require you to remain unchanged.
- 14:08See, people that say, you know, John, I
- 14:10like you, or I liked you when you
- 14:13did this, or when you were quiet, or
- 14:15I liked you when you...
- 14:17Basically, you liked me when you could control
- 14:18me.
- 14:19That's basically what it comes down to.
- 14:21But once my fire started getting going, and
- 14:24a true story on this, guys, there was
- 14:26an elected official, he's out of office now,
- 14:29and he actually didn't like me because I
- 14:33was starting to show up in the limelight.
- 14:35I didn't do it intentionally.
- 14:36He was doing all kinds of crazy things,
- 14:38like he would call the police in the
- 14:39town, and it was a joke because he
- 14:42was trying to get me arrested.
- 14:43I wasn't doing anything wrong.
- 14:44Even the cops were like, John, we're not
- 14:45arresting you.
- 14:46We're just telling you to just leave the
- 14:47property because, you know, he's saying if you
- 14:51could do that, you know, which is we
- 14:52work for him, and I get it.
- 14:56So, he actually called my office and asked
- 15:00my secretary when, you know, he could meet
- 15:03with me.
- 15:04It was important.
- 15:05Okay.
- 15:08And he called on a Monday, so I
- 15:10told her, tell him that I'm available.
- 15:15This Thursday at 8.30 a.m. or
- 15:21next Friday at 4 p.m. First of
- 15:30all, you should know, even though they're supposed
- 15:33to be in the office at 8.30
- 15:34in the morning, he doesn't get through till
- 15:369, so it's not my problem that he
- 15:38can't get there.
- 15:39The following week, 4 o'clock, they get
- 15:43out of there right at 4.30. Sometimes
- 15:44they try to leave early.
- 15:45So, I remember going to his office, and
- 15:49he said something very interesting.
- 15:50He said, John, he said, what are you
- 15:52ever going to give up?
- 15:53So, I'm president of the chamber, which now,
- 15:54by the way, is growing.
- 15:56What are you ever going to give up?
- 15:57So, I sat back, and I said to
- 15:59him, I said, you know what, sir, I
- 16:04thought about it.
- 16:05At first, I sat back in my chair.
- 16:06I relaxed.
- 16:07He said, what are you doing?
- 16:08I'm just thinking.
- 16:09I said, sir, I don't want to give
- 16:10you a lie.
- 16:10I want to make sure I tell you
- 16:11the exact moment, the exact hour, minute, day,
- 16:16and second year that I'm actually officially going
- 16:19to give up.
- 16:19So, just give me a minute.
- 16:19I'm almost there.
- 16:20He's like, oh, okay.
- 16:22And I said, sir, I'm going to tell
- 16:23you when I'm going to give up.
- 16:24He's like, oh, excited.
- 16:25I said, I'm going to give up when
- 16:28a little baby boy or a little baby
- 16:30girl tells their parents they don't want to
- 16:32learn to walk anymore.
- 16:35Always funny faces.
- 16:37So, I'm quiet for a minute or two,
- 16:39and I said, sir, I have a question
- 16:40for you.
- 16:41He says, yes.
- 16:43I said, you have two children, right?
- 16:46He says, yes.
- 16:47Boy and a girl.
- 16:47He says, yes.
- 16:48I said, one's in college, just entering college,
- 16:51and one's leaving college.
- 16:52He says, yes.
- 16:53I said, okay, great.
- 16:55I want to ask another question.
- 16:57Do they both walk?
- 16:58He says, of course they walk.
- 17:00I said, okay, I want to ask you,
- 17:02did they ever tell you that they didn't
- 17:04want to learn to walk anymore?
- 17:11And I asked that question.
- 17:12When did they ever tell you that they
- 17:14didn't want to walk anymore?
- 17:14That's the question I asked him.
- 17:15When did they ever tell you they didn't
- 17:16want to walk anymore?
- 17:17He came back to me and he says,
- 17:18never.
- 17:21I said, sir, I said, you're a very
- 17:25bright and distinguished gentleman, and I knew you
- 17:28would answer that question precisely right the first
- 17:30time.
- 17:31And, sir, that's exactly when I'm going to
- 17:34give up.
- 17:35Never.
- 17:40He went quiet.
- 17:41He said, you're arrogant, and get the blank,
- 17:43blank, blank, blank out of my house, out
- 17:44of my office.
- 17:45So from that moment on, I knew it
- 17:49was going downhill with him, but I knew
- 17:50that he was going to leave someday.
- 17:52He said, be patient.
- 17:55I talked to a friend of mine who
- 17:57I wanted him to run for the position.
- 17:58Now he's in, and now the whole thing
- 18:00has changed because there's new administration, people that
- 18:05support me.
- 18:06It's not a political game anymore.
- 18:09There's respect.
- 18:11New person's in town, everything changes.
- 18:13So what do I tell you that for?
- 18:16You've got to bring your A game, because
- 18:17if you don't, someone else will.
- 18:21Number 23, let your actions prove your intentions.
- 18:25You don't need to constantly announce who you're
- 18:28becoming.
- 18:30Demonstrate it.
- 18:30Show it.
- 18:31Be consistent.
- 18:33Follow through.
- 18:34Let repeated action create credibility, not just once,
- 18:39but continually.
- 18:43Number 24, stop abandoning yourself to belong.
- 18:50Belonging is valuable when you can participate without
- 18:53betraying yourself.
- 18:55But too many people, whether it's in high
- 18:58school, we've all done this, we try to
- 19:00become someone else to belong.
- 19:01Why?
- 19:03If acceptance requires hiding your true values or
- 19:06morals or likes or dislikes, silencing your voice
- 19:10of becoming somebody else, you have to reconsider
- 19:15this price.
- 19:16A price you may not pay today, but
- 19:18you'll pay tomorrow.
- 19:19And it may not be money.
- 19:20It may be something very valuable that money
- 19:23can't buy.
- 19:26Number 25, accept the price of independence.
- 19:30See, independence can bring criticism, uncertainty, responsibility, and
- 19:35occasional loneliness.
- 19:36Yep, that's true.
- 19:37You make the decision and own its consequences.
- 19:40That's part of real independence.
- 19:43Number 26, choose alignment even when it's unpopular.
- 19:48Popularity is nice, but popularity can change overnight.
- 19:51Alignment gives you something more durable.
- 19:54When your choices reflect your values, you're building
- 19:57a life you can recognize as your own,
- 20:00not as something you have to live up
- 20:02to for someone else.
- 20:03Number 27, your path doesn't require a committee
- 20:07vote.
- 20:08Okay.
- 20:10Advice can be valuable.
- 20:11Mentors can help.
- 20:13Trusted people can reveal things you've missed.
- 20:15Gather wisdom, but don't outsource your entire life
- 20:18to other people.
- 20:20If you do, you will be very sorry
- 20:22and then wondering, how do I get my
- 20:26life back?
- 20:27A wise person once told me, John, think
- 20:32hard and strong on the goals you want
- 20:34and work toward them, because if you don't,
- 20:38you'll be helping someone else build their goals.
- 20:42Number 28, become courageous enough to look different.
- 20:46Being different isn't automatically courageous, but choosing a
- 20:50responsible path you believe in when conformity would
- 20:54be easier can require tremendous courage, right?
- 20:59And I think courage is something that a
- 21:01lot of people, they get daunted by this
- 21:06because they don't think they have what it
- 21:07takes, but really, you have more than what
- 21:10it takes, guys.
- 21:12You have more than what it takes.
- 21:16Okay.
- 21:19This is a problem for a lot of
- 21:20people, right?
- 21:22Being different isn't automatically courageous.
- 21:24We have to learn that.
- 21:26Number 29, the cost of conformity can be
- 21:30much higher.
- 21:30Conformity has a price.
- 21:32It can cost authenticity, creativity, respect, confidence, opportunities,
- 21:37and years spent living according to expectations you
- 21:42never consciously chose, but somehow you got roped
- 21:45into being that guy, that person.
- 21:48Number 30, pay the price required to become
- 21:51yourself.
- 21:52I'm not telling you it's going to be
- 21:54easy, okay?
- 21:56But it's going to be worth it.
- 21:58Being yourself isn't always free.
- 22:00You may lose approval.
- 22:03You may lose friends.
- 22:04Someone may misunderstand you.
- 22:06A relationship may change.
- 22:07You may have to stand alone temporarily, but
- 22:10do it anyway.
- 22:12But there's another price we don't talk about
- 22:14enough.
- 22:15What is that?
- 22:16What does it cost to continually abandon yourself?
- 22:19We don't think about that.
- 22:20What does it cost to spend years satisfying
- 22:22expectations you never chose?
- 22:24I'll give you one hint.
- 22:25Read my book, Drained and Driven.
- 22:29You're going to start going to burnout, and
- 22:31you're going to start losing the joys of
- 22:33life that you used to enjoy so much.
- 22:35What does it cost to make yourself smaller
- 22:37so other people remain comfortable?
- 22:40That's where today's episode connects, guys, directly to
- 22:44our master topic.
- 22:45Stop living a life you never chose.
- 22:48Choosing your own life may make you different.
- 22:50But, ladies and gentlemen, this isn't about ignoring
- 22:54good advice, becoming arrogant, or assuming you're right
- 22:57simply because you're different.
- 22:59Listen carefully.
- 23:01Consider evidence.
- 23:02Ask questions.
- 23:03Learn from people who know more than you
- 23:08do.
- 23:09Stay humble enough to change your mind when
- 23:12the facts change.
- 23:13But after you've learned and you've listened, evaluated,
- 23:18and thought carefully, you still have to make
- 23:20decisions on your own.
- 23:22Your life cannot permanently remain in a committee.
- 23:26It's easy to say you'll be yourself.
- 23:29When everybody approves, the real test comes when
- 23:33someone questions you, prefers the old version of
- 23:36you, or doesn't understand why you're changing and
- 23:39you change anyway.
- 23:40Think about one area of your life, whether
- 23:43you're being in a situation making yourself smaller,
- 23:48just to remain acceptable.
- 23:52Maybe it's an idea you haven't pursued.
- 23:57Maybe it's something you want to learn.
- 23:59Maybe it's a boundary you haven't established.
- 24:00Maybe it's a direction you've wanted to explore.
- 24:03Learning changes you.
- 24:05Experience changes you.
- 24:07Responsibility changes you.
- 24:09Success changes you.
- 24:11Failure changes you.
- 24:13Getting the point?
- 24:14Education changes you.
- 24:15Life changes you.
- 24:17The goal isn't to remain exactly the same
- 24:19person forever.
- 24:20We grow, we morph, we change.
- 24:22The goal is to keep developing without losing
- 24:24the values, the core values and integrity that
- 24:27matter so much to us.
- 24:30So ask yourself this, ladies and gentlemen, what
- 24:32is conformity already costing you?
- 24:35Is it costing you confidence, your creativity, an
- 24:37opportunity, your direction, a future you actually want?
- 24:40Maybe being different costs temporary approval, but pretending
- 24:48can cost years.
- 24:50Maybe independence costs comfort, but conformity can cost
- 24:53direction.
- 24:54Maybe growth changes some relationships, but refusing to
- 24:57grow can change your relationship with yourself.
- 25:00That's priceless.
- 25:02Choose thoughtfully, listen carefully, stay teachable, be humble
- 25:05enough to reconsider your own assumptions.
- 25:08But don't you dare abandon yourself simply because
- 25:11somebody else would prefer a more convenient version
- 25:14of you.
- 25:16That's not what you want.
- 25:18Ladies and gentlemen, I am John C.
- 25:20Morley.
- 25:20I'm a serial entrepreneur and much more.
- 25:23And this has been another amazing episode of
- 25:25Inspirations for Your Life.
- 25:26So we start on Saturday on basically day
- 25:29one with a brand new master topic.
- 25:30We roll all the way through the week
- 25:31and we finish up on Friday.
- 25:34Your path, ladies and gentlemen, doesn't require universal
- 25:38approval.
- 25:39If you think it does, it's high time
- 25:41you start changing.
- 25:43Because whose life are you living anyway?
- 25:45Yours or somebody else's?
- 25:48Your growth doesn't require everybody to understand it.
- 25:51Your future doesn't require a committee vote.
- 25:53If you think it does, it's time to
- 25:55change your life.
- 25:58Maybe, well, you know, I want to be
- 26:00nice.
- 26:01I want to be the good guy.
- 26:02I want to be the yes person.
- 26:06Yes person doesn't become successful.
- 26:08You're not here to become a 24-7
- 26:10people pleaser.
- 26:11If you are, you're not going to be
- 26:13successful.
- 26:13I'm just being honest.
- 26:15Your path doesn't require universal approval.
- 26:19Get that through your head.
- 26:21Again, your growth doesn't require everybody to understand
- 26:23it.
- 26:24Your future doesn't require a committee vote.
- 26:26Being different may cost you not just money,
- 26:31but living a life that was never truly
- 26:35yours can cost far more than any amount
- 26:38of money you could ever earn.
- 26:41I think sometimes the reason people don't stay
- 26:46with themselves is they don't want to be
- 26:48lonely.
- 26:49They don't want to be alone.
- 26:51And they'd rather do what the crowd wants
- 26:55so they don't have to be alone.
- 26:58Right?
- 27:00But sometimes being alone will get you to
- 27:02connect with the right people, maybe connected with
- 27:04the wrong people.
- 27:05Being different may cost you, but living a
- 27:07life that was never truly yours can cost
- 27:09far more.
- 27:11Know what you're willing to pay.
- 27:12Know what you're unwilling to surrender.
- 27:15And have the courage to become yourself anyway.
- 27:18I know this is not an easy topic,
- 27:21but these are the topics we go over
- 27:23here.
- 27:23I hope you have a great rest of
- 27:25your evening or day.
- 27:26Be sure to check out BelieveMeAchieved.com for
- 27:28more of my amazing, of course, inspiring creations,
- 27:31short-form, long-form content, articles, reels, and
- 27:33so much more, including articles, too.
- 27:36But I want you to know that your
- 27:39life starts with you.
- 27:41It starts with your choices.
- 27:43Don't give them away to somebody else.
- 27:46Don't give away your power.
- 27:49Don't give away your power.
- 27:51Because, you see, once you do, it's going
- 27:55to be very hard to get it back.
- 27:57I hope you have a great one, and
- 27:59I hope this show resonated with all of
- 28:01you.
- 28:01Be well, everyone.
