- 0:12Speaker 3: Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line. He throws it
- 0:17Speaker 2: into the m zone.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Touchdown Seahawks.
- 0:19Speaker 2: It's Michael Bumpas with a diving catch in the end zone.
- 0:23Speaker 2: A ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid
- 0:26Speaker 2: out of Washington State has found himself.
- 0:28Speaker 3: A place on this team. Now, here's your host, NASA Chopie.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:35Speaker 1: He's Michael Bumpus, some NASA showby the Seahawks Week fifteen,
- 0:38Speaker 1: getting ready to take on the Green Bay Packers on
- 0:41Speaker 1: Sunday Night football from Blomenfield. We are broadcasting live from
- 0:45Speaker 1: the Seahawks Podcast Studio, presented by Sony, the official partner
- 0:49Speaker 1: of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Bump and it feels good right now, there's some good
- 0:52Speaker 3: mojo on you.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Yeah, man four and oh you know, we spent some
- 0:55Speaker 4: time in the studio and it was dark.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I know the lights are bright, but it was dark
- 0:58Speaker 3: with bitness.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Piece man, and they're playing some goodball and it's consistent,
- 1:02Speaker 4: like the defense is consistent every week. I'm waiting. I go,
- 1:04Speaker 4: all right, man, when's the falloff gonna happen? Isn't gonna happen?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:07Speaker 3: But it has it? Man, So that that's good to see.
- 1:09Speaker 1: No, they are playing at an incredibly high level. I've
- 1:11Speaker 1: said it on our last podcast. I'll continue to say it.
- 1:13Speaker 1: When the Seahawks are playing the way that they're playing
- 1:14Speaker 1: right now, they can beat anyone in the National Football League.
- 1:18Speaker 3: And you know, why don't we start on Sunday national audience?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Why a lot of people let them know, Mike Trico, Collinsworth,
- 1:24Speaker 1: everybody action, Green jerseys of it?
- 1:26Speaker 3: Come on, baby, what's on tap? What's on tap?
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talking about these Green Bay Packers. They are nine to four,
- 1:35Speaker 1: third place in the NFC North. They've lost to the Eagles, Vikings,
- 1:39Speaker 1: Lions twice. They have wins over the Colts, Titans, Rams, Cardinals, Texans, Jaguars, Bears,
- 1:46Speaker 1: forty nine Ers, and the Dolphins.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Bump and pretty entertaining game that they played last Thursday. Night.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Yeah, man, before we get into that, you send me this. No,
- 1:55Speaker 4: people are hyping these guys up. Green Bay Packers. Good
- 1:58Speaker 4: football team, it's not gonna absolute football team. Not disrespecting
- 2:01Speaker 4: them at all, but they got good losses and they
- 2:04Speaker 4: look at the Seahawks losses and they say, well, they
- 2:06Speaker 4: don't have good losses. So you know, we'll see how
- 2:09Speaker 4: that squares up tonight or Sunday night.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I should say, yeah, no, see, I'll get it to
- 2:14Speaker 1: it a second. But people need to really look at
- 2:16Speaker 1: the numbers.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Yeah, look at numbers, looking numbers, all right, Packers in lines, man,
- 2:19Speaker 4: this is one of the best, if not the best
- 2:21Speaker 4: Thursday night football game of the season. It came down
- 2:23Speaker 4: to the wire. Dan Campbell once again doing some crazy stuff. Man,
- 2:27Speaker 4: Dan Campbell. It was thirty one thirty one. They're facing
- 2:29Speaker 4: a fourth and one from the Packers twenty one yard
- 2:31Speaker 4: line with forty three seconds left on the clock. My
- 2:35Speaker 4: man says, you know what, we're gonna go for it.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Ninety nine percent of coaches would have said, you know,
- 2:38Speaker 4: let's kick the field goals, lift to fight another day.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Not Dan Campbell. He went for and David Montgomery picked
- 2:44Speaker 4: up seven yards and the first down, Montgomery barely got
- 2:47Speaker 4: the handoff because God fell down.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I was looking at the rules, I'm like, is he down?
- 2:51Speaker 4: He did get touched, but it was by his teammates,
- 2:53Speaker 4: so he should be good to go. But Twitter was
- 2:55Speaker 4: going crazy talking about he should have been down. Learned
- 2:57Speaker 4: the rules before you speak, always like before something. Always
- 3:00Speaker 4: handed to my wife and say, rethe this this makes sense.
- 3:03Speaker 3: To you college college who have been down. I'm not.
- 3:06Speaker 4: I'm just saying he would have been down to college,
- 3:07Speaker 4: been out there, but uh no, he handed the football offense.
- 3:09Speaker 3: They picked the the first down. Would you have done
- 3:12Speaker 3: that at Monroe High School? Pack?
- 3:13Speaker 4: No, it's on the foot, there's no chs on the foot,
- 3:15Speaker 4: the kickers warming up on third down, and he's already
- 3:18Speaker 4: ready to go.
- 3:18Speaker 3: It wasn't like they were at the forty nine yard line.
- 3:21Speaker 3: They're like, oh, we're kind of on the edge here.
- 3:23Speaker 3: He just wanted to end the game. And Campbell's nuts
- 3:25Speaker 3: for that and good for him.
- 3:27Speaker 1: The way that they play, and that's I can't live
- 3:29Speaker 1: on that edge because it looks great when you convert.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it's stressful.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yeah, NFC Championship game, just saying, yeah, he didn't learn
- 3:37Speaker 4: from that, but he is who he is.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I expect that.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I absolutely respect it because you're right, that is who
- 3:40Speaker 1: he is. And uh yeah, Packers obviously going to lose
- 3:43Speaker 1: that football game. Jared GoF finished today thirty two of
- 3:46Speaker 1: forty one to eighty three, three touchdowns, one pick. Josh Jacobs,
- 3:49Speaker 1: who were going to talk about he had three tuds?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs, I have bad memories.
- 3:54Speaker 4: But that man Raiders three hundred yards of total offense,
- 3:58Speaker 4: the game winning run, and we were in the south
- 4:02Speaker 4: end zone watching it all go down.
- 4:05Speaker 3: The line just opened up and he was out of there. Yeah,
- 4:09Speaker 3: that was rough man.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So anyway, we don't need to be reintroduced to Josh
- 4:12Speaker 1: Jacobs because we know how good he is. But Bump,
- 4:14Speaker 1: you alluded to it. You brought up the Packers losses.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So they do have four losses on the season. I
- 4:19Speaker 1: said the Eagles, Vikings and Troit Lions twice. Now, I've
- 4:22Speaker 1: heard a lot of talk to some good losses. Now
- 4:24Speaker 1: they are great losses, right, All those teams they have
- 4:27Speaker 1: a combined record of forty six and six, so when
- 4:29Speaker 1: they do lose, they're only losing to the cream of
- 4:31Speaker 1: the crop. Really good football teams. They've only lost those
- 4:34Speaker 1: games by an average of five points. Now for me, Bump,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Losses are losses. Doesn't matter if you could
- 4:41Speaker 1: beat by five hundred or if you get beat by one,
- 4:43Speaker 1: the same as CFP no exactly some collegeball playoffs in
- 4:46Speaker 1: twelve teams, losses are losses. Though I don't understand why
- 4:49Speaker 1: they're greting getting as much credit for those losses as
- 4:51Speaker 1: they are, because, like I said, there's still four losses.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But here's the part I want to pay attention to
- 4:56Speaker 1: pay attention to their wins.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Let's look at the wins.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Okay, they've actually only beat two teams with winning records
- 5:03Speaker 1: of their nine games, the Rams and the Texans. And
- 5:06Speaker 1: then when you total their nine wins, those opponents have
- 5:08Speaker 1: a combined winning percentage of four to eighteen forty nine
- 5:12Speaker 1: and sixty eight record, So not very good. Some would say,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I don't know who they beat. Now, let's look at
- 5:18Speaker 1: the Seahawks for context. Seahawks have beat one team of
- 5:20Speaker 1: the winning record, the Broncos, and when you total their
- 5:23Speaker 1: eight wins the Seahawks have those opponents have combined for
- 5:26Speaker 1: a winning percentage of four to twenty three, forty four
- 5:29Speaker 1: and sixties slightly better than the Packers. So maybe we
- 5:32Speaker 1: shouldn't just praise the Packers for good losses. We got
- 5:34Speaker 1: to look at who they beat. And I'm not disparaging
- 5:36Speaker 1: them at all. We're gonna spend time going through how
- 5:37Speaker 1: good of a football team, saying, let's just be fair
- 5:39Speaker 1: about the situation.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Exactly, let's stop getting credit for losses. Who did they beat?
- 5:43Speaker 1: It's the same conversation because everyone's hammering the Seahawks, say,
- 5:45Speaker 1: and they haven't beaten anyone. Yeah, And we're also not
- 5:47Speaker 1: taking ato account when we played these teams. Falcons run
- 5:50Speaker 1: a heater when we played the first time we played
- 5:52Speaker 1: the Niners, they're good playing good.
- 5:53Speaker 4: For Cardinals for four game winning streak when we played
- 5:55Speaker 4: them first time.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Exactly all those teams actually had a winning anyway. So
- 5:59Speaker 1: it is what it is. I'm just saying my piece.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I'll get up my soapbox, but pay attention to who
- 6:03Speaker 1: they beat. Okay, when you're going through this bump us
- 6:05Speaker 1: side bout the head head.
- 6:06Speaker 4: All right, let's look at these these teams by the numbers.
- 6:09Speaker 4: The Packers a good offense, the sixth offense in the game,
- 6:12Speaker 4: averaging three hundred and sixty excuse me, seventy six yards
- 6:15Speaker 4: per game. They are the fifth rush offense, the tenth
- 6:17Speaker 4: passing offense, and seventh when it comes to putting up
- 6:19Speaker 4: points twenty six points per game. The Seahawks are thirteenth overall,
- 6:23Speaker 4: twenty seventh when it comes running the rock. We might
- 6:26Speaker 4: have found something known when it comes running the rock,
- 6:28Speaker 4: third when it comes to passing offense, fifteenth when it
- 6:31Speaker 4: comes to scoring two hundred two hundred will be nice.
- 6:34Speaker 4: They're scoring two hundred gay twenty three points per game. Defensively,
- 6:38Speaker 4: is kind of where evens out a little bit. Packers
- 6:40Speaker 4: thirteenth overall, Seahawks eighteenth overall. But the jump defensively has
- 6:44Speaker 4: been great for the Seahawks.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean there's reason why we're looking at
- 6:49Speaker 1: the numbers since like week nine. Yeah, because that's really
- 6:50Speaker 1: telling the story about where the Seahawks is right now.
- 6:52Speaker 1: If you're looking at the Seahawks from an outside perspective,
- 6:55Speaker 1: you're staying damn. They're twenty seventh in rush offense and
- 6:58Speaker 1: they're twenty first in run defense. But that's not telling
- 7:00Speaker 1: a story about where this team currently sits defensively. The
- 7:03Speaker 1: Packers are also really good man their thirteenth to total defense,
- 7:06Speaker 1: ninth against the run, twenty first against the pass, and
- 7:08Speaker 1: ninth in points allowed. But where they accel bump.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Takeaways, turnover ways.
- 7:14Speaker 1: They are plus nine and turnover differential for context Seahawks
- 7:17Speaker 1: or minus four. They have twelve interceptions and they're in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the tops in the league at taking the ball away,
- 7:22Speaker 1: so they're very good there and their defense. As long
- 7:25Speaker 1: as the Seahawks can protect the football, I think that'll
- 7:27Speaker 1: be the big factor in this.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Their defense is pretty good.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Watching film with them against the Detroit Lions at the
- 7:32Speaker 4: Miami Dolphins, their safety plays crazy. We'll talk about Xavier
- 7:35Speaker 4: mckennum sure, who flies around and makes plays. Their safety
- 7:38Speaker 4: play is really good. They love to play man. They're
- 7:40Speaker 4: gonna be sticky on coverage. Their defense deserves all the
- 7:43Speaker 4: love they're getting.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So the Seahawks definitely will have their hands full with
- 7:46Speaker 1: the Packers defense. These two teams they don't play every year,
- 7:50Speaker 1: but they definitely have a complicated history, no your history.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Packers lead the all time series fifteen to nine. They're
- 7:58Speaker 1: eight and twelve in the regular season in a one
- 8:00Speaker 1: to three edge on the Seahawks in the postseason, The
- 8:03Speaker 1: Packers have won five of the last six matchups, but
- 8:05Speaker 1: this matchup has been dominated by the home team. The
- 8:08Speaker 1: Seahawks have not won a Lambeau Field since nineteen ninety nine,
- 8:11Speaker 1: coach Holgren's first year. So it's been a little while.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Ten game losing streaks, some not good moments. I don't
- 8:17Speaker 1: need to get into those. I think everyone is pretty
- 8:19Speaker 1: well aware of them. On the flip side, though, Packers
- 8:22Speaker 1: haven't won in Seattle since Michael Bumpus was returning punts
- 8:26Speaker 1: in two thousand and eight.
- 8:27Speaker 4: I remember that we lost that game you did. That's
- 8:29Speaker 4: the last time I remember. I drew a illegal hands
- 8:33Speaker 4: to the face there. I got pressed a line of
- 8:34Speaker 4: scrimmage hands to the face. My helmet was like, sighways,
- 8:37Speaker 4: hassleback fields are the football.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I can't see it. But we got them. We got
- 8:40Speaker 3: the penalty.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Okay, So it's I'm just saying that because it's been
- 8:44Speaker 1: a long time. M hm. So the Seahawks have won
- 8:46Speaker 1: the last four games at lew Field, so hoping we
- 8:48Speaker 1: see more of that. This last out between matchup between
- 8:51Speaker 1: these two teams. Not a great game a Lambeau Seahawks
- 8:53Speaker 1: were shout out seventeen zero in Week ten twenty twenty
- 8:56Speaker 1: one season. If you guys remember this from Russell Wilson.
- 8:58Speaker 1: He broke his finger. Yeah, came back in only three
- 9:01Speaker 1: or four weeks. He wasn't ready to go in terms
- 9:03Speaker 1: of how he was playing. His twenty and forty one
- 9:05Speaker 1: to sixty one, zero touchdowns, two interceptions. Both of those
- 9:08Speaker 1: came in the end zone. Very costly there. Gerald Everett
- 9:11Speaker 1: was your leading receiver. Alex Collins, dress In Peace led
- 9:14Speaker 1: the team in rushing ten carries forty one yards. Aaron
- 9:17Speaker 1: Rodgers didn't even play very good. He was twenty three
- 9:19Speaker 1: or thirty seven two ninety two and a pick. And
- 9:21Speaker 1: aj Dillon was the leading ball carrier. So forgettable game
- 9:24Speaker 1: in Lambeufield. I'm hoping that tide changes whenever we go
- 9:26Speaker 1: down there next. Yeah, but it's all about what happens
- 9:29Speaker 1: in Luminfield. But let's turn our attention to what's going
- 9:32Speaker 1: on in the NFC West.
- 9:34Speaker 3: What's the word and the Seahawks?
- 9:39Speaker 2: So the NFC West champs again.
- 9:42Speaker 3: What's the word? In the West? On Hawk top?
- 9:46Speaker 4: The Hawks still at the top of the division eight
- 9:49Speaker 4: and five, The Rams are seven and six to Cardinals,
- 9:52Speaker 4: and the Niners are both six and seven. The Hawks
- 9:55Speaker 4: maintained their division lead after beating the Cardinals last week.
- 9:57Speaker 4: The Hawks now essentially have a three game leader on
- 10:00Speaker 4: the Cardinals given the tiebreaker. The forty nine ers in
- 10:03Speaker 4: the Rams face off tonight on Thursday Night Football, which
- 10:05Speaker 4: could have big implications for the division rates. Let's talk
- 10:09Speaker 4: about what happened last week. We're watching the game. We
- 10:11Speaker 4: are begging, begging for the Bills. Come on, Bills, hook
- 10:15Speaker 4: us up, Bills, come through the Bills. That's not what happened.
- 10:17Speaker 4: It was a crazy game, man. The Bills came into
- 10:20Speaker 4: this game with a seven game winning streak, and if
- 10:22Speaker 4: you want a defense that's saying for you forty four
- 10:24Speaker 4: forty two, that think was crazy. Josh Allen Allen with
- 10:27Speaker 4: nuts twenty two to thirty seven, three hundred and forty
- 10:30Speaker 4: two yards, three touchdowns. He also had eighty two rushing
- 10:33Speaker 4: yards on ten carries in three touchdowns six total touchdowns.
- 10:37Speaker 4: He became the first player in NFL history with three
- 10:39Speaker 4: passing touchdowns and three rushing tds in a game, six touchdowns,
- 10:43Speaker 4: eight and nuns Is nineteen fifty four, nineteen fifty four.
- 10:46Speaker 4: I was listening to herm Edwards talk. He said he
- 10:49Speaker 4: was born in nineteen fifty four.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I'm not herm you don't look that old though. Her good, Yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 3: her looks good. Her looks good.
- 10:55Speaker 4: But what Trailing thirty eight to thirty five with three
- 10:58Speaker 4: minutes fifty three seconds left in the game, the Rams
- 11:00Speaker 4: were facing fourth and five from the Bill's thirty five
- 11:02Speaker 4: yard lines. The officials missed an obvious false start. It
- 11:06Speaker 4: was crazy, it was so obvious. The Rams converted and
- 11:08Speaker 4: eventually going on into the end zone. The Bills scored
- 11:12Speaker 4: of the next drive, but didn't recover the on side kick,
- 11:14Speaker 4: and the Rams held on for the forty four to
- 11:16Speaker 4: forty two When Matthew Stafford was twenty three of thirty
- 11:19Speaker 4: three twenty and two touchdowns. Pooka he might be the
- 11:23Speaker 4: best receiver on that team. Now, no disrespect to Cooper Cup,
- 11:26Speaker 4: an all time great, probably gonna be in the Hall
- 11:28Speaker 4: of Fame, but Pooka's taken over man. Twelve receptions, one
- 11:32Speaker 4: hundred and sixty two yards, two touchdowns. It was one
- 11:35Speaker 4: receiving everyone rush and he did it. It was wild
- 11:38Speaker 4: to see that game.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, Puka's killing it on hundred and sixty yards. He's
- 11:40Speaker 1: doing it every every week, and the Rams, man, they're
- 11:43Speaker 1: frustrating from an NFUS rival standpoint because you're not always
- 11:48Speaker 1: sure what team's gonna show up. But every time you
- 11:50Speaker 1: lace them up against them, they can beat any team.
- 11:52Speaker 1: They're just the way they're coached by Sean McVay, the
- 11:55Speaker 1: way their defense has enough guys here and there, even
- 11:57Speaker 1: without Aaron Donald, they'll make you pay at any given time.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I mean, you look at their effort against the Bills
- 12:02Speaker 1: and then you look at them against the Dolphins a
- 12:04Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago, up and down. Obviously in the
- 12:06Speaker 1: Seahawks game, I feel that was the game Seahawks gave away.
- 12:08Speaker 1: But it is what it is, and the Rams currently
- 12:10Speaker 1: have the tie breaker over the Seahawks right now, Obviously,
- 12:13Speaker 1: the Seahawks and Rams play Week eighteen, final game of
- 12:15Speaker 1: the season, so we'll see hopefully the Rams. Though again,
- 12:19Speaker 1: we're not rooting for the forty nine ers, Lenna, be
- 12:22Speaker 1: very clear about that. We are really calling it for
- 12:26Speaker 1: the Rams to lose.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you're rooting for the Rams to lose against the
- 12:32Speaker 3: forty nine ers. They both can't lose. I mean they
- 12:33Speaker 3: could tie.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I guess I take what does the tie do you
- 12:36Speaker 1: do that math, the ties models things up. I mean
- 12:38Speaker 1: a tie is a tie is better than a win,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but it's still kind of like it still.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Makes it still complicated.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Confusing broadcasting line from Seahawks Podcast Studio presented by Sony,
- 12:50Speaker 1: the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks. The other matchup
- 12:53Speaker 1: in the NFC West was the Bears taking on the
- 12:54Speaker 1: forty nine Ers.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Four.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Nines were down bad for a couple of weeks.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Man, they lost three in a row, fell last place
- 13:00Speaker 1: in the division. But they're able to get back on track.
- 13:02Speaker 1: They smacked around the Bears thirty eight ten. This was
- 13:05Speaker 1: the first game after Matt ever Fluss was let go.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Bears have now lost seven in a row. Niners were
- 13:11Speaker 1: outscored by fifty three points previous two weeks. They took
- 13:13Speaker 1: out some frustrations on the Bears are up twenty four NH.
- 13:15Speaker 1: In halftime, George Kittle went off party had a good day, one,
- 13:19Speaker 1: Jennings had a good day. Cale Williams okay, shout out
- 13:23Speaker 1: to Roman though two touchdowns all right, I won't say that,
- 13:28Speaker 1: but go ahead wrong Well anyway, Like I said, that
- 13:31Speaker 1: sets up the table for Thursday Night football.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Rams forty nine ers.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Both teams can't lose, So we're rooting for the Rams
- 13:36Speaker 1: as a Seahawks fan, for the Rams to lose, because
- 13:40Speaker 1: if the Rams lose on Thursday, and the Seahawks win
- 13:43Speaker 1: the next three games, they will have wrapped up the
- 13:45Speaker 1: NFC West be before that matchup against the.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Rams, locked up the real naked choke hole. Gotta tap out.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I don't want to pass out, I mean, so hopefully
- 13:54Speaker 1: we're hoping that happens for the Seahawks. Obviously, we'll see
- 13:56Speaker 1: what happens paying attention to that, so we'll stay locked in,
- 13:59Speaker 1: but will try our attention back to the Greenmay Packers
- 14:02Speaker 1: coming into lum min Field.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Man up, Hey, who you got? Who you got? You
- 14:06Speaker 3: know what time it is? Man up? Man up, brother,
- 14:08Speaker 3: man up man up on Hawk Talk Seahawks. Jordan Love
- 14:14Speaker 3: taking on this defense. Jordan Love.
- 14:16Speaker 1: You been in the league a twenty twenty one but
- 14:18Speaker 1: didn't become the full time starter or the guy till
- 14:20Speaker 1: last season when the Packers finally moved on Ran Rodgers.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Packers shocked the NFL.
- 14:25Speaker 1: They make it to the playoffs, they go nine to eight,
- 14:27Speaker 1: they win a game, they honestly should have beat the
- 14:29Speaker 1: forty nine ers in that divisional game. They were unable
- 14:32Speaker 1: to get that done. So coming in this year, they
- 14:34Speaker 1: weren't gonna surprise anybody. They were favored to be a
- 14:36Speaker 1: good team in that division. And despite missing two games,
- 14:39Speaker 1: Jordan Love is still doing pretty well. He's got these
- 14:42Speaker 1: top ten in touchdown passes with twenty one. He's six
- 14:45Speaker 1: in the NFL in touchdown percentage and passing touchdowns per game,
- 14:48Speaker 1: and over the last four games he's got a one
- 14:50Speaker 1: to eighteen passer rating nine hundred and four yards, six touchdowns,
- 14:53Speaker 1: one interception. He ranks third in passer rating over that span.
- 14:57Speaker 1: But the thing that stands out about their off and
- 15:00Speaker 1: Jordan Love, it's them as a unit as a whole.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna rip off some stats about the Niners being
- 15:04Speaker 1: a top ten offense yards per game, they're six yards
- 15:07Speaker 1: per play, their third passing yards per play, their third.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Sacks allowed per passing atteenth or third in the NFL.
- 15:13Speaker 1: They're only getting sack four point three percent of the place,
- 15:16Speaker 1: so they're protecting Jordan Love. They're averaging twenty six points
- 15:19Speaker 1: a game, that's seventh the NFL. They've allowed only two
- 15:22Speaker 1: sixteen sacks, second in the NFL, and they're also explosive.
- 15:26Speaker 1: They're fifth in explosive runs with forty two, fourth in
- 15:29Speaker 1: explosive plays total. So the Seahawks are definitely going to
- 15:32Speaker 1: have to They're gonna have their hands fall against. His
- 15:33Speaker 1: offense is gonna be the best offense they faced in
- 15:36Speaker 1: a little while.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Love looks good. He'll turn the football over if you
- 15:40Speaker 4: get to him. But that's if you get to him.
- 15:42Speaker 4: You just mentioned only sixteen sacks on the season, that's
- 15:44Speaker 4: second in the game. But if you get to him.
- 15:46Speaker 4: He's got that young mentality. You know, when you're young,
- 15:49Speaker 4: you take more chances in life. Right, That's what I
- 15:51Speaker 4: see when I see Jordan Love. He'll make some throws
- 15:53Speaker 4: that I go, you probably shouldn't have made that throw,
- 15:55Speaker 4: but you're athletic enough to where you're able to pull
- 15:57Speaker 4: it off. That's what I'm banking on. I need him
- 15:59Speaker 4: to throw some things up and let it go. And
- 16:01Speaker 4: they pushed the ball down the field. It was something
- 16:03Speaker 4: like nine point four yards per intended air yards. And
- 16:07Speaker 4: when he throws the football, which is fourth in the
- 16:09Speaker 4: NFL behind Jameis Winston, Trevor Lawrence, and Anthony Richards, is
- 16:12Speaker 4: surprising I would not have thought those three will be
- 16:14Speaker 4: in front of him, but yeah, they will push the
- 16:17Speaker 4: ball down the field. He likes to hit the sidelines.
- 16:19Speaker 4: He likes to the moyer stad. We used to talk
- 16:22Speaker 4: about brock Purdy all the time. Outside of the numbers,
- 16:24Speaker 4: he will hit the middle, but it likes the outside.
- 16:26Speaker 4: So there should be some opportunities out there for the secondary,
- 16:30Speaker 4: all right. Geno Smith Man, Gino Smith coming off another
- 16:33Speaker 4: really solid performance.
- 16:33Speaker 3: He was twenty four to thirty two hundred and thirty.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Three yards, one touchdown, second consecutive game no turnovers.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Man, we know this.
- 16:40Speaker 4: First time all season. He also completed eighty percent of
- 16:43Speaker 4: his passes, best all season. Right now, Geno's in fifth
- 16:46Speaker 4: place in franchise history and attempts, completion, his passing yards,
- 16:49Speaker 4: and passing touchdowns. Gino needs just one three hundred yard
- 16:52Speaker 4: game to ty Russell Wilson for the most three hundred
- 16:54Speaker 4: yard games in a single season in franchise history with five.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Here's Gino when it comes to the numbers in the
- 17:01Speaker 4: league in attempts, second and completions, he is second.
- 17:04Speaker 3: In passing yards, He's second.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Completion percentage, he is fifth sixty nine point five percent
- 17:09Speaker 4: if he can get to seventy percent, he's already doing
- 17:12Speaker 4: some things that Russell has done and creeping up on him.
- 17:14Speaker 4: If he can get to seventy percent of the year,
- 17:16Speaker 4: that's something Russell has never done.
- 17:17Speaker 3: That's a tip of the cat for him.
- 17:19Speaker 4: So he's going up against his Packers defense thirteenth and
- 17:21Speaker 4: total defense twenty first against the pass ball security, job security.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Green Bay is tied for third in takeaways, they're tied
- 17:30Speaker 4: for eighth in interceptions, they're tied for second and fumble recoveries.
- 17:33Speaker 4: They're plus nine in the turnover differential. Take care of
- 17:37Speaker 4: the rock you should you should be okay, take it
- 17:39Speaker 4: a ruck, take care of the rock you want to
- 17:40Speaker 4: chance late in the game, hold on to the day football.
- 17:43Speaker 1: You just gotta be intentional about it, because you know,
- 17:45Speaker 1: people talk about turnovers coming in bunches obviously and being
- 17:48Speaker 1: in the right place at the right time. Two things
- 17:50Speaker 1: about defense. When you have this many turnovers, you're doing
- 17:52Speaker 1: more than just getting lucky. You're in the right place
- 17:54Speaker 1: all the time, and you are practically actively taking care
- 17:57Speaker 1: of taking the football away. That's you know, for those
- 18:00Speaker 1: who have played football, that's turnover circuit. That's pursuit drill.
- 18:03Speaker 1: That's all this stuff you're actively trying to change off.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Punch it out, and they're doing it, and then the
- 18:07Speaker 1: Ballhawks over that. They won the turnover differential in eight
- 18:10Speaker 1: games this season. They're seven to one under the floor
- 18:14Speaker 1: when winning. I butchered that.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Floor.
- 18:18Speaker 4: I go a flir, I got I got a floor,
- 18:20Speaker 4: you know, mix it up, put some spice on that thing,
- 18:23Speaker 4: you know, So take you're right, take care of themn
- 18:25Speaker 4: football and the Seahawks will definitely be good packers.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Number one of the league points off turnovers this season
- 18:29Speaker 1: with ninety seven, So if you want to take care
- 18:32Speaker 1: of that, we're broadcasting live from the Seahawks Podcast Studio,
- 18:35Speaker 1: presented by Sony, the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks
- 18:38Speaker 1: this NFL season. Feel every play, every hit, every moment
- 18:41Speaker 1: with the Sony one thousand XM five noise canceling headphones,
- 18:45Speaker 1: the official partner.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 18:47Speaker 1: With premium noise cancelation, You're in the zone, no distractions,
- 18:50Speaker 1: just pure football. Whether you're in your living room or
- 18:53Speaker 1: on the go. You'll never miss a beat with Sony headphones.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Bump this run game, no joke to it.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Earlier.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs still got nightmares from that twenty twenty two
- 19:04Speaker 1: game against the Seahawks when he was playing for the Raiders.
- 19:06Speaker 1: He is a former first round pick from Alabama. Ranks
- 19:09Speaker 1: third in the NFL was one thousand and fifty three
- 19:11Speaker 1: rushing yards. Derrick Henry and Saquan Really taking this guy shine.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Man on any other year like an average year, right,
- 19:19Speaker 4: Josh Jacobs is a national treasure right now. But you
- 19:23Speaker 4: know Sakwonda what he doing and d Henry, Hey, you
- 19:25Speaker 4: gotta wit your turns, yuh.
- 19:26Speaker 1: It's tough. But anyway, he's obviously killing the game. He's
- 19:28Speaker 1: registered fourth one thousand yard rushing season of his career,
- 19:31Speaker 1: tied for the second most in the NFL since he
- 19:33Speaker 1: entered the league in twenty nineteen. The only other person
- 19:35Speaker 1: Derrick Henry. He's tied for fifty the NFL this season
- 19:38Speaker 1: with eleven rushing tds. He's supposed to a rushing touchdown
- 19:41Speaker 1: in four straight games. And the thing about him, too, man,
- 19:44Speaker 1: is he is tied for eighth in the NFL the
- 19:47Speaker 1: season and explosive runs. He's got eighteen explosive runs. He's
- 19:51Speaker 1: also he's really good yakyards after the catch. So here's
- 19:54Speaker 1: the thing, man, with Josh Jacobs, you gotta tackle. Yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 1: that sounds so simple. I it sounds like great analysis.
- 20:01Speaker 1: You got to tackle him.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's physical. He's not a guy you can
- 20:04Speaker 3: arm tackle.
- 20:05Speaker 1: But what I love about it is the Seahawks run
- 20:07Speaker 1: defense has shown you, now in five straight weeks, that
- 20:09Speaker 1: they can get that done. They're playing at a high level.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Since Week nine, they're allowing just ninety seven rush yards
- 20:14Speaker 1: per game. That's nineth in the NFL. They have not
- 20:16Speaker 1: allowed one hundred yard rusher since James Cook in Week eight.
- 20:20Speaker 1: So overall, the Seahawks ring twenty first in the NFL
- 20:22Speaker 1: in rush defense. But that hasn't shown you what they've
- 20:24Speaker 1: been doing. So I think they're up for the task.
- 20:26Speaker 1: They put it on tape week after week after week,
- 20:28Speaker 1: so I'd expect them to contain Josh Jay Gibbs, not
- 20:31Speaker 1: completely shut him down, but contain him.
- 20:33Speaker 3: You gotta tackle him.
- 20:34Speaker 4: He's broken twenty seven tackles, that second amongst running backs
- 20:38Speaker 4: behind Derrick Henry. He's got about six hundred and seven
- 20:41Speaker 4: yards when it comes to the yards after contact behind
- 20:44Speaker 4: Derrick Henry. So yeah, you say tackle is simple, but no,
- 20:47Speaker 4: you really got to do that because he won't break
- 20:48Speaker 4: tackles and he's good after contact. Let's shift our focus
- 20:52Speaker 4: to the Packers receivers against the Seahawks secondary. The Packers
- 20:56Speaker 4: definitely have some talented receivers, but haven't had a legit
- 20:59Speaker 4: number one since Devonte Adams left. Adams was the last
- 21:01Speaker 4: receiver to hit a thousand yards during the twenty twenty
- 21:04Speaker 4: one season. Leading the charge for the Packers this season
- 21:07Speaker 4: is former Michigan receiver Jaden Reid. Re leads the Packers
- 21:10Speaker 4: in both receptions and receiving yards. Retied a single game
- 21:13Speaker 4: career high with two receiving touchdowns in Week thirteen, giving
- 21:17Speaker 4: him fourteen for his career, tied for the third most
- 21:19Speaker 4: by a Packer in his first two NFL seasons. Read
- 21:22Speaker 4: is tied for number five in the NFL with three
- 21:24Speaker 4: receptions of fifty plus yards.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I told you they gonna air that thing out.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Read is tied for fifth in the NFL and twenty
- 21:30Speaker 4: five plus yard receptions this season. So far this year
- 21:33Speaker 4: four to four receptions, six hundred and ninety three yards
- 21:36Speaker 4: and six touchdowns. And they got to get tight end
- 21:38Speaker 4: over there. There's a trend. Most offenses have a tight
- 21:42Speaker 4: end who's getting her done. The tight end position is evolving,
- 21:45Speaker 4: and Tucker Kraft is a great example that he has
- 21:48Speaker 4: seven receiving touchdowns, he has three hundred and fifty seven
- 21:52Speaker 4: yards after the catch, He has thirteen averages, thirteen point
- 21:55Speaker 4: four yards per reception and nine point two yards per reception.
- 22:00Speaker 4: This dude is he's something special. They got a bunch
- 22:02Speaker 4: of receivers like there's no real like, yeah, okay, thousand
- 22:05Speaker 4: yard receiver. But they got a guy with four hundred,
- 22:07Speaker 4: a guy with five hundred, Christian Watson, that's five. You
- 22:10Speaker 4: got Romeo Dobbs with four hundred dy three and two touchdowns.
- 22:13Speaker 4: They spread the ball out. So sometimes you look at
- 22:15Speaker 4: a team and if they don't have a guy with
- 22:17Speaker 4: a thousand yards saying all that past game is week
- 22:19Speaker 4: I look at the way they spread the football around,
- 22:22Speaker 4: and I look at the back end. Y'all gotta be
- 22:24Speaker 4: on point because they will deconduct and they will take
- 22:27Speaker 4: their shots. You know where Matt Lafleur, he's from that
- 22:30Speaker 4: Shanahan tree, Shanahan Tree. He gonna find ways to get
- 22:33Speaker 4: these guys the ball. So it's by committee. When you
- 22:36Speaker 4: look at this receiving corps.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and even Tucker Kraft. You think tight end, he's
- 22:40Speaker 1: got some. He's got two catches for over six yards
- 22:42Speaker 1: this year, so even he can get you in explosive.
- 22:44Speaker 3: So to your I think that's a great point.
- 22:47Speaker 1: They they're not going to have the DeVante Adams justin Jefferson,
- 22:50Speaker 1: but as a collective unit, every one of them can play.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Everyone can get got. So the Seahawk secondary needs to
- 22:55Speaker 1: be on point. We know they will flipping it over
- 22:58Speaker 1: to the Seahawks receivers jsnd metcalf and the Packers secondary
- 23:02Speaker 1: led by Xavier McKinney.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Now jas En dude can play. Yeah cool, Yeah, we'll
- 23:07Speaker 3: get to him a second.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Jason Mister consistent last week five receptions eighty two yards
- 23:11Speaker 1: a touchdown set a single season career high with five touchdowns.
- 23:15Speaker 1: He's now six in the NFL and receiving yards nine
- 23:17Speaker 1: to eleven. Continues to climb in the charts, Ninth in
- 23:19Speaker 1: receptions at seventy five. He needs just eighty nine yards
- 23:23Speaker 1: become the first time in his year to get a
- 23:25Speaker 1: thousand yards. He'll be the tenth player in franchise history
- 23:28Speaker 1: to do that. Then you got DK metcalf. His production
- 23:31Speaker 1: slowed down a little bit, but again every week he's
- 23:33Speaker 1: still making big receptions. He's averaging fifteen yards per reception,
- 23:36Speaker 1: which is eighth in the NFL with a minimum of
- 23:39Speaker 1: forty seven receptions. He also has a ten plus yard
- 23:41Speaker 1: reception in every game he's played in this season. DK
- 23:45Speaker 1: needs just one touchdown to pass Steve Largin for the
- 23:47Speaker 1: most touchdowns and players first six season in franchise history
- 23:50Speaker 1: forty seven. So I'm waiting for DK to have a
- 23:52Speaker 1: breakout game. I know what's coming, waiting for that, really
- 23:55Speaker 1: want to see. So he's having a quiet year and
- 23:57Speaker 1: he's gonna go for one thousand this year. He's a
- 23:58Speaker 1: eight twelve, he's gonna get a thousand, going to.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Get a thousand this year.
- 24:01Speaker 1: And if he didn't get hurt, but if he might,
- 24:03Speaker 1: he might have he might have twelve hundred.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Now.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so definitely interesting to see there. But they're going
- 24:08Speaker 1: up against the secondary that is taking the ball away.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Who are they?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Led by Xavier McKinney. TIFVERD League lead the interceptions with seven.
- 24:15Speaker 1: He ranks number one with eight total takeaways. He's also
- 24:18Speaker 1: got a fumble recovery there. First player in team history.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Racer interception in his first five games in the Green
- 24:23Speaker 1: Bay uniform. Was also the first player in NFL history
- 24:26Speaker 1: since the nineteen seventy merger with an interception in his
- 24:30Speaker 1: first five games with a team.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Dude's a ballhawk, Yeah, man, he flies around. He got
- 24:35Speaker 4: he got good hair for it too, like half his
- 24:37Speaker 4: blond half as black. Got the dress like. He looks
- 24:40Speaker 4: like a dude who will find the football. If I
- 24:42Speaker 4: was going to build a safety on Madden, it probably
- 24:44Speaker 4: looked like him.
- 24:45Speaker 3: But yeah, safety play is going to be good. These
- 24:47Speaker 3: guys are solid, good to go, all right.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Let's look at Zach Sharbney and Ken Walker. Man Sharviney said, listen,
- 24:53Speaker 4: one thirty one, okay, one two touchdowns.
- 24:56Speaker 3: This is what I do, all right. For the first time.
- 24:58Speaker 4: This week one, the Seahawks had one one hundred yard
- 25:00Speaker 4: rusher against the Cardinals. The Seahawks rush as a team
- 25:03Speaker 4: for one hundred and seventy six yards, which was a
- 25:05Speaker 4: season high and the most rushing yard since the final
- 25:08Speaker 4: two games of the twenty twenty two season, when the
- 25:10Speaker 4: Hawks rush for one ninety eight and one ninety seven.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Leading The charge for the Seahawks was Zach Scharbaay just
- 25:15Speaker 4: mentioned it. One hundred and ninety three yards from scrimmage,
- 25:18Speaker 4: one thirty four in the ground. I said, one thirty
- 25:20Speaker 4: one my bad, short short, three my bad, and fifty
- 25:24Speaker 4: nine yards shoot the air. Career highs in every category.
- 25:27Speaker 4: The Seahawks are obviously hoping to repeat that performance. But
- 25:31Speaker 4: the Seahawks, excuse me, The Packers have a solid defense.
- 25:33Speaker 4: The Packers have the leadst ninth best rushing defense, allowing
- 25:36Speaker 4: just one oh six on the ground. The biggest question
- 25:39Speaker 4: mark is Knwalker gonna play. We're waiting to see. If
- 25:42Speaker 4: he does play, you gotta one two combo. If he
- 25:46Speaker 4: doesn't play, you still might have a one two combo
- 25:48Speaker 4: because Kenny Mack return of the back that needs to
- 25:50Speaker 4: be nat You know what I'm gonna sing.
- 25:52Speaker 3: That for on my birthday tomorrow? All right? Carry? Oh,
- 25:55Speaker 3: let's get it. Kenny had thirty eight yards on just
- 25:58Speaker 3: seven carries.
- 25:58Speaker 4: He have his five point four yards per carry, including
- 26:01Speaker 4: a sixteen yard run. He had a couple of receptions too,
- 26:03Speaker 4: So Kenny Mack he's in there.
- 26:05Speaker 1: No, I think the Seahawks are. They're good to go
- 26:06Speaker 1: up the ring back position. Obviously, this team is better
- 26:09Speaker 1: with number nine out there. Yeah, for showing will tell
- 26:11Speaker 1: me different show they're trying to, some are trying to.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm like, listen, don't forget about what Ken does.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Zach. Happy for Zach, and I hope he continues.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Absolutely, But I'd rather have a one to two combo
- 26:21Speaker 4: than just relying on one.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Dude.
- 26:23Speaker 1: They're both second round picks for a reason because they
- 26:25Speaker 1: can both tolte the pill and they're good at running
- 26:26Speaker 1: the ball. So they compliment each other because of their
- 26:31Speaker 1: styles are different. Yeah, they can both Ken Walker can
- 26:34Speaker 1: also operate in a system when they're pinning and pulling
- 26:37Speaker 1: and they're.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Doing some of the stuff we saw last week.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so let's kind of dispel that rumor that like, yeah,
- 26:42Speaker 1: the only so anyway, we got love for all of them.
- 26:45Speaker 1: We love for the whole room. That's what we're saying. Yeah,
- 26:47Speaker 1: twenty six, twenty five nine. They can all run the pill,
- 26:49Speaker 1: they can all do their thing, and they can help
- 26:51Speaker 1: the Seahawks get a much needed victory. Let's tell him
- 26:54Speaker 1: other and you get a done bump at the victory.
- 26:58Speaker 2: After forty five waits for the snack packer, En push
- 27:01Speaker 2: it down.
- 27:01Speaker 3: That kick is away. If that kick is gone. Good day,
- 27:05Speaker 3: ak Quinn fit gun. It's a pass to victory. On
- 27:09Speaker 3: Hawk Talk once.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Again, the Seahawks are facing the biggest challenge of the
- 27:13Speaker 1: season this time and it will be in front of
- 27:14Speaker 1: a national audience on Sunday Night football. Come on, a win,
- 27:19Speaker 1: we'll bring the Seahawks step closer in an NMFC West title.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I've kind of spelled it out already. Seahawks win the
- 27:24Speaker 1: next three, the Rams lose. You might wrap up the
- 27:27Speaker 1: division before that last game, but at the end of
- 27:29Speaker 1: the day, none of that matters if you just keep
- 27:31Speaker 1: winning ball games. Seahawks are in the driver's seat in
- 27:33Speaker 1: the NFC West and it starts to Sunday with a
- 27:35Speaker 1: very tough Packers team.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Yeah, man, you gotta force jard Love to make bad decisions.
- 27:40Speaker 4: He's shown he can do that. He's a young man,
- 27:42Speaker 4: he's still learning the position, but he's their franchise quarterback.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Again. The Greenway Packers have found their guy.
- 27:47Speaker 4: He has eleven interceptions on the season, so let's make
- 27:50Speaker 4: him turn the ball over and then limit the explosive plays.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Green Bay is fourth in the NFL with explosive plays.
- 27:56Speaker 4: That offense, you're gonna see guys motioning from left to right,
- 27:59Speaker 4: release into the flag, turning it up. You're gonna see
- 28:01Speaker 4: guys motion from right close to the line of scrimmers
- 28:04Speaker 4: them back out. It's gonna look similar to Niners, Rams, Lions.
- 28:09Speaker 4: They all have something in common. They love the style offense.
- 28:12Speaker 1: And the cool thing about the way this defense is
- 28:15Speaker 1: playing is we haven't seen exposive plays. We haven't. Early
- 28:18Speaker 1: in the season it was run after what. We're not
